I mean you have three four plays just getting field goal range and still get some points out of it when we talk to uh coach Germaine and the Holton meets Coaches Corner which you can listen to on Spotify inside the nest uh we talked to him and he said on that last drive against Roxanna vaguely came up to him and said okay I got something figured out here and we even said we said man it seems like he's got that Cadence figured out well he blew him up on that last uh possession there when the Eagles needed to force the three and out and they did and because your main trust him and I know coach Warner does too I'm putting him back their quarterback and then I mean he just he sees the field so well and he finds openings that not a lot of other kids can um so it's it was it was nice last week to see him make that big play and get us a win another low bad Punt and that's exactly what the Eagles needed out of bounds exactly what the Eagles needed and the ball goes straight out of bounds and it's going to be at the 35 34 yard line and that's exactly what the Eagles needed 129 one timeout remaining it only took two seconds man you know you have a big leg in your kicker for a peak or a field goal we'd rather have seven we're gonna have a pistol back this time I believe that's Cameron Janik Titan sniffer back to the right are going to hand the ball off too Yannick he's going up the middle he's got a hole he's got 10 yards and he's down to the 20.

good first play there for the Eagles they just call him cam bam Janet I think he did Janet gets 12 yards he gets to take a breather and comes white now at running back gonna be two vaguelys left and set up and doubles it looks like rain water out here wide receiver closest to us doubles for the Eagles send an emotion man his Bryant they're going to fake the handoff going to be a pass play to the corner he's got wike he's got the 10 the five end zone touchdown Eagles beautiful play call wonderful I like that I think we ran that last week whenever we Don Begley fakes it to his running back rolls out to that side everybody on the defense thinks the ball's going to the right then you have Brandon white sneaking out of the backfield not maybe just throwing a little off pass over to him and getting six Eagles up 13-nothing p-a-t pending looked at coach Warner there whenever that play was over I'd instantly looked down at him he was excited on that call and a guy that doesn't show too much emotion good snap good hold kick is up right down Broadway and that is good so that takes the score Columbia 14.

Freeburg nothing 59 seconds remaining in the first half yeah that's a great job big big possession there coach Warner's fired up right now as are the rest of the Eagles first half isn't over though so the Eagles are going to have to uh get one more stop they get the ball coming out and that's the biggest thing I think right there yeah just getting six points up there and especially in that first quarter I mean no one could really get anything going um so them having two bad punts gives us basically 14 points good field position so um yeah two good two good scores there to go in for halftime um Plus getting bald half so don't don't let them score here and you're going up two scores at half coach Kendall said in one of the early Holt meets Coaches Corners he said you know special teams only get maybe five percent of the snaps in a game but they could make up 98 of the game yeah obviously last weekend yeah and then like you just said two bad punts led to two scores so and they have true statement Freebirds punted the ball probably four or five times already tonight so um I mean special teams has been on the field tonight more than you really expect but done a good job I mean just getting good field positioning and punching those scores in see if we can get a stop here and go into halftime new to the week is the music between uh plays I guess you'd call it between series and drives possessions there you go that's a great word so vaguely is going to Tee It Up he's going to kick towards the Wilderness 59 seconds remaining before that Century 21 halftime show it's going to be caught at the seven nearly had his knee down on the ground was The Return Man he's going to get to the 25 get stood up and gonna be called down at the 25 and I think if you're Freeburg you just want to go into halftime now at 14 and don't do anything stupid here yeah unless you like what you see like earlier what they liked what they saw with the Wetzel Garden number nine on this side but um yeah I think I'm with you I think you just take the knee and go into half you don't want to force a pick six um because you got Don vaguely number 12 obviously playing center field so your quarterback's got to be smart here and not force a pick to even get us back in field goal range because I mean if you throw one down the middle of the field right now you're giving us the ball at almost the Midfield so you look at all of our center fielders wike vaguely Wetzel they can all catch a football and it's just going to be a quick little route to Murphy he's going to make one man miss and it's going to be brought down for a gain of five and maybe that's Stefan on the tackle Peyton Andrews number 13 not number 15 number 13 on the tackle so they're not gonna have to run a play that looks like they're going to though second and six forced to Fumble here Gonna Roll Out to the right side quarterback's just going to have to keep it and tuck it he's going to gain two go out of bounds third down and three and if I get a stop again you got one time out left call it yeah 14 seconds left I mean you would think they're just gonna take a knee or Chuck it down field for one last play but see what free bird tends to do here and third and four this time doubles quarterback's just going to be in the pocket he's going to roll to the left side now I got to watch he come he's looking he is going to tuck it and run he's gonna get a first down get out of bounds good for about eight and get up to the 37-yard line with six seconds remaining most likely your last play here if you're gonna throw the ball down field First and Ten now for Freeburg this is where the Eagles are playing that prevent defense but keep everything in front of you trips to the right side to the wide side of the field three down lineman for the Eagles Hicks just wants to go right up the middle he's going to be stopped they're going to send the house though gonna make one man miss and it's gonna be a gain of nothing and that's gonna do it for the first half of this Cahokia conference matchup a slow start in that first quarter but it's all Eagles in the second quarter as Eagles Take a 14-0 lead into the Century 21 halftime show we're gonna run to a break we will bring you the band's performance have another break and then we will be back with the second half right after this [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] you're making today [Applause] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign welcome back to the Century 21 halftime show presented by Century 21 here in town three minutes to go in this halftime once they get that time added back and Jared like we said going into the Century 21 halftime show not a great first quarter great first or second quarter though yeah the first quarter is a little it wasn't sloppy I would say we no team could just really get anything going I mean you would we would have that first drive we came out and we threw the ball three times and then we had to punt it away like in 10 seconds I think you said um but I mean I think they just had to feel each other out a little bit because then Freebird started to run the ball uh a little bit better and then they had that big play over on this right side number nine over Zach Wetzel um but then number 12 happened and then just started making plays with his feet getting first downs um that great pass that he had the Zach Wetzel down the left sideline to punch one in and then defense sticking sticking up um a zero on the goose on the goose on the scoreboard um it's pretty nice to see uh during the first first half Eddie look at you know number 12 makes it happen but number 23 Brandon white he's had a couple key catches that balls may not be in front of them may not be where you want them but he still makes an acrobatic catch and he makes the catch he's running hard you look on the defensive side of the ball we've called Schnabel we've called Stefan we've called Hicks we've called Yannick we've pretty much named everybody um both Hicks boys I guess I should say both vague ways we've named them good a good good half or good quarter yeah yeah so the Eagles are off the field now getting ready they will be receiving still a minute to go as Freeburg is uh wrapping up their stretches here once again thank you to our sponsors thank you to Summit signs like I said earlier I talked about all the signs and it never name dropped at Summit signs in the herdlicker family here in town they uh the quarterback Club went to him said hey our signs are cool but they could be better and Summit sign says you're absolutely right we've been wanting to do something so let's do it so they did a great job job they're signed leading into the stadium from both directions the quarterback Club they've got their tent set up once again October 7th is that homecoming game and the quarterback Club will have hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks over at the perch which is where all the other parents hang out the other nine weeks of the year so make sure you're here about six o'clock we'll get that underway maybe even a little earlier 5 30 somewhere in that area and get everything going we will be honoring the 50 years of football in between the third and fourth quarter they've got some homecoming stuff they got to do in between the first and second and at halftime so we will be doing it at the third and fourth tonight blue jay night the junior Eagle cheerleaders come out did their pregame show and now the blue jay players took the Eagles out through the tunnel so thank you to all the volunteers with the blue jays and all they do as the junior cheerleaders 184 members came to camp this year and numbers are through the roof with the blue jay so good bright future ahead of us so the first time we will see the Freebird kicker number 14 JJ whis 6-3 215 big kid he is the sniffer back on the offensive side of the football and the kicker here tonight deep for the Eagles vaguely and Wetzel that'll do it for the Century 21 halftime shows vaguely catches it at the five he's going to keep that left side he's just going straight ahead makes one man miss tries to get around a second spins around and he's gonna get tackled at the 26.

for a gain of 21. you could really make a statement right now if you get in the end zone if you're a coach Warner in the Eagles offense yeah go up three scores right now early uh I mean I I'd come out I'd throw on first down um we'll see what coach Horner has in mind and if he wants to waste some some time off that clock and go punch one in or if he wants to score early doubles to the left side sniffer back left motion man to the right side gonna be vaguely over 20. cuts back to the inside ten five touchdown Eagles so [Music] [Applause] everybody he's pretty good at football [Applause] once again vaguely gets the the touchdown great blocking down field by Carter Hicks getting through the hole and great job by Dalton rainwater stalk blocking down here closest to us if Dom vaguely 75 yards 19 seconds and now you ask him to kick a field goal when he's legs are probably burning Jared one of the Eagles are slinging around I like keeping it on the ground good snap good hold it is up and it is good so 19 seconds into the third quarter the Eagles lead it 21 nothing and uh talk about making a statement yeah you said that yourself now the one thing I will say though when you watch Bryant when he's in that motion it looks like he kind of Step steps up a little bit you've got to make sure yeah before the ball snap that could be a false start but make sure you're not moving forward you can go left and right as far as you want but Dom looks gassed there he's kind of just walking back good buddies there and Don Begley and Brennan wike both part of the third place team with the baseball team this past spring so now you need the defense to come out and do the same thing keep that goose egg up there I want to see a defensive score tonight yeah scoop and score or pick six how about a big man big man touchdown Joe kiss yeah a big man pick it up and score we had that that's how the Eagles started their season last year Owen Brewer it was good for like 45 or 55 yards something like that that was a good one to get going I don't think we scored too much after that that game but you know what it was good while it lasted yep that was that mosquito game where the Eagles also think it was 49-26 or something like that so vaguely catches his breath walks off to do the kickoff two men deep they've been faking a reverse so far tonight we'll see if they fake it or if they do reverse it vaguely kicks it a little short bounces at the 14 skips off the turf gonna be recovered going right up the middle and it's going to be a missed Tackle by Yannick but brought down by A Flock of eagles afterwards we'll give the credit to Ben Scott and Mason vaguely so the midgets will take over from the with 11 33 remaining on that Mandy McGuire group scoreboard thank you see with the Eagles defense can do now doubles to the left side sniffer back right running back right motion man's number 23 Murphy they're gonna go right up the middle though not too much going as it's a swarm of eagles this time making the tackle let's see who comes off the pile last believe that Schnabel is Schnabel and Maddox Stefan Freebird brought down by a number looks like Mason Vega he's playing this corner now and Stefan's or that's Andrews Andrew's there playing that's kind of a in between linebacker comes comes up plays linebacker but he's also playing safety whenever there's doubles out here kind of an odd formation for that Eagles defense Murphy motion man again gonna be the same play right up the middle this time they're going to cut back gonna get to the 40.

cam Janik there gonna be close I think they're gonna give it to him and they do you look over wike was just playing a corner wetzel's at a corner vaguely is at a deep linebacker shallow safety a little bit of everywhere there for the Eagles not too often that you see your safety is just two yards behind your linebackers Murphy once again same play once again gonna be a gain of one Schnabel on the tackle who's number 54 tonight he took himself out of that play that time he kind of ran up they ran underneath of him and he just kind of took himself out they still blocked him they could have let him go and he wouldn't have had anything to do with the play though three down lineman The Far Side of the field three linebackers looks like we might be blitzing out the top of the screen and we do gonna be just a slant and caught positive play positive drive here for Freeburg number 14 on the catch JJ whis gets that into the Eagles territory at the 49 yard line now you see white going out there playing corner on number nine on that top of your screen you got vaguely at the bottom of your screen here so gonna fake the run this time it's gonna be kept by Stewart he's gonna be met at the line of screaming boy Brennan bye Brendan wike and it's gonna be a loss on the play good job Brandon White like you said going out playing corner you had Mason as a corner Wetzel played a little bit deeper looks like they're gonna have one guy over the top one guy underneath and if you watch out Mason sets up down here closest to you at the 50.

he's giving inside leverage here forcing the guy back into the inside of the field trips to the left side High snap brought down going up the middle tripped up should be a hole and a gain of one that guy was holding Carter Hicks all day gain of one third and ten this is where the eagles need their fans in the stands and the uh blue holding offense I called it Alex I didn't even see a flag on the place so I kept talking Carter was fighting back to get like he almost had the tackle he could have got the ball carrier but one of the linemen was holding onto his jersey couldn't quite get there but good enough for the holding call spot foul lost 10. trips to the left side running back to the left side shotgun snap gonna be kept and it's just going to be one of our plays out of our playbooks and it's going to be Hicks on the tackle for a gain of nothing looked like a little Miami bubble screen right there hopefully other teams aren't watching out and they hear coach Horner say Miami they know what's coming I don't think they have the same play calls anymore though third down and 18 now ball at the freeberg 43 same formation all sorts of defensive backs here for the Eagles Hicks gonna Force the quarterback to scramble Stewart is he's going to get to line of scrimmage he's got three men right in front of him and it's gonna be Logan Hicks with the tackle gain of four he's kind of been everywhere tonight uh blitzing a little bit playing a little bit in coverage and not really letting the quarterback go anywhere I mean quarterback really hasn't had one big play yet knock on wood but um scramble there and really know where to go he had two Mason Bagley and Logan Hicks there um to stop him before he can even get to the line of the original line of scrimmage good Jared good job there by Hicks forcing him to scramble once again went a little high though gonna be a pass this play they're going for it it's a sieve as a bunch of guys get to the backfield we're gonna make a tackle and it's going to be fumbled it's going to bounce around Eagles and midgets both fight and four I guess regardless guess who calls that Alex Schlemmer I'm gonna go ahead and say uh Logan Hicks yes sir still don't see who recovered the fumble regardless it's gonna be a turnover on Downs Logan Hicks with the fumble Force fumble yeah and I think those last two plays there he had two great tackles on that one he forced forced a fumble quarterback was just fighting for extra yards Hicks got a good punch on the ball and ball comes out I couldn't tell like you said who recovered it but it didn't really matter because they didn't get to the yard to gain so Eagles Take Over up 21 nothing 7 13 left here in this third quarter doubles to the left side ball on the right hash running back left sniffer back Hicks to the right gonna be a straight hand off by Bryant he's gonna have to make a couple guys miss nobody did much blocking on that play for the Eagles and it's going to be a loss of one yeah you saw him running out to the right and said nope not going that way there are three guys out there that are untouched 80 pounds heavier than me so lost in one like I said not not good whenever you look at your def or your offensive lineman and three of them are standing there with nobody in front of them Bryant comes off with Yannick I always say three possessions is Never Enough though if you get that fourth possession go up four possessions that's always huge because three possessions all it takes is one little mistake and they're right back in the game so it'd be nice for the Eagles to get on the board here again gonna be caught this time by Wetzel haven't said his name too many times a night but he's got 10 of the 11 needed in the third and one now for the Eagles just a quick little hitch right there a five-yard route gets you 11 yards I think I'd bring that King set in right now that we had last or a couple drives ago I think it was in the second quarter when we had Carter Hicks and I think it was Brennan wike Paving the way for Don vaguely but it looks like we are gonna put Carter Hicks as our up back so watch out for Don vaguely following him up uh up in the hole to try to get a first down there's the motion man there goes vaguely he's following Hicks he's got a bunch of blockers and on the back 10 yards first down inside the 40-yard line now for the Eagles Peterman gets the tackle that time first down I love I love putting Hicks back there in that up back position because I mean he could catch the ball of the backfield a little bit if he gets out in open space quick enough and then he's a great he's he's just a great blocker because he's so big nobody really wants to take that on coming full head of steam so now you're gonna have Hicks is a tight end Cameron Yannick as an up back Brendan wike as a running back and Hudson Brian as you're running back you got all the beef on the right side for the Eagles and what do we do we go to the left we're following Yannick we got a first down for Brennan wike explain everything to the right run to the left my Horner's having a little fun on this drive too he's putting up a bunch of different formations out there and just getting his guys in open space great job by the runners to find the open Lane and take it positive yardage almost every every play this drive so great play calls by coach Horner good job to the o-line besides that outside Zone that we saw earlier he was almost back to line of scrimmage but second and one here see what coach owners got drawn up on this play 440 and Counting now in the third quarter same formation send a motion man and Bryant got an option if we want to have the option play but it's going to be vaguely he's at the 15 where he's going to be chased out of bounds good for another Columbia Eagles first down economy Runs Out of Bounds that's good enough for Columbia Eagles and Brian didn't make that whole block but he got in the way for just enough time for vaguely to kind of free up some space and get that first down but as a running back you gotta hurry and get out in front of Dom if you're a lead blocking for him um you don't really want to trip him up or get in his way so Bryant and wike come off couldn't see I think that's rainwater and Janet and Janet coming on doubles into the boundary five seconds on the play clock officials calling it off Eagles are going to get it off they're going to hand the ball off too Yannick he's going to run pretty hard game two and made a little bit out of nothing all right now we got Janet coming off rainwater coming off yeah like and Bryant coming on under four minutes now in the third quarter Eagles keeping it to the ground not much of a sound coming from the freeberg fans who are pretty much from the 10 to the end zone length of the field on the fence High snap kind of a busted Play From the Start gonna be a loss on the play almost looked like vaguely didn't know if he wanted to give it off or not because he saw two or three linemen crashing down on looked like Yannick I don't know it might have been Bryant but he didn't really have enough time to react to really pull the ball away from the running back's belly still put it in there and loss of about three three yards so third and 12th most likely gonna throw it here trips to the left side doubles the left side rather it's going to be a bootleg to the right we got a couple guys in the end zone it's going to be behind the would-be receiver and Janik not much you can do right there best thing that happened was that ball fell incomplete so now you're gonna have the ball in the left hash on the 16-yard line he got good from a 33-yard field goal no it's in the middle of the field I thought the ball was on the hash so what's all going to be on for the hold 33-yard attempt four vaguely under 10 seconds on the play clock now all starts with the snap little low picked up by Wetzel it gets off and what do you know through the uprights good for a 33-yard field goal for Dom vaguely that takes the Mandy McGuire group scoreboard with two minutes 59 seconds remaining in the third quarter Columbia Freeburg zero and not the touchdown that you wanted but hey we'll take those three points yeah it's still a three score game uh you would have to force them to score three touchdowns and get three two point conversions just to tie it um but you never know we're gonna head to a break real quick because it looks like the officials are gonna take their time getting the field flip so we are gonna head to a break and we will be back with the remaining of the three third quarter right after this [Music] welcome back where the Eagles lead that Manny McGuire group scoreboard 24-nothing here in this Cahokia conference matchup both teams coming in at three and one Freeburg lost last week to Central so they are 0-1 in the conference Colombia gets the big win over Roxanna there 1-0 vaguely teased it up sends it deep and it's going to be returned from the nine Columbia is going downfield very good job could have been a hold called and it's going to be a penalty flag and it's going to be finally brought down by Hicks and Yannick at the 39.

but that holding penalty on vaguely or with vaguely I guess you'd say I don't know how to say that he's gonna make it come back somebody that we don't talk about enough the Columbia Eagles cheerleaders coach Walters does a great job the girls doing all their push-ups after touchdowns we haven't added them up this year like we usually do so that's something that I'm gonna have to be better at Jared but give it to the cheerleaders when you think of football and cheerleaders come with you every week so good job to the cheerleaders uh getting the Junior cheer going this week as well 66 push-ups for the night I think that math unofficial unofficially three down lineman for the Eagles two linebackers a little 3-2 look three safeties I haven't seen this look out of Coach G I don't think trips to the right side running back left gonna be a quick pass route to the big boy and it's going to be brought down by vaguely foreign big tackle there by Dom vagley J.J Weiss with the catch second and two no comment on that one that was a body slam trips to the left side running back left gonna be a quick pass once again Murphy's gonna catch it and it's going to be a missed tackle murph's gonna have to make something happen as he runs out of bounds six penalty flag Throne I saw that one yeah blocking the back against Hicks I would I would imagine that's the call because he was going to make that make that tackle and the other receiver shoved him in the back he pushing him back here on this one oh yeah coach Jermaine just told Warner calm down I got this one coach Warner he always watched from 10 20 yards back so it's going to be a block in the back officially from the white hat coach Jermaine says let's push him back 219 he's going to eat up some clock here was that a 15 yarder oh hands to the face 15 yard 10 yard spot I don't know the whips watching in from Murray we've got the quarries from Bloomington the schlemmers in Cuba Missouri Mrs Harris Fort Myers let us know where you're listening from shoot us a text comment let us know make sure you like us on all of the social media doubles the left side they're going to run it right up the middle it's going to be blown up I believe that's going to be Hicks it is great job just standing his man up and finding the football make sure you listen to that Holton meets Coach's Corner on Spotify search inside the nest we talk football usually we have all the coaches on this week was just coach Horner and Coach Jermaine typically we get coach Kendall and stump to talk about JV as well just saw McKendree Bearcat Ronnie hunzaker run out there and get the tea I guess nobody ever went out there and got it gonna be a pass play and it's gonna fall incomplete would-be receiver I believe is number 82 Landon Townley so a fourth and 14 now for the midgets I'm another punt return here Alex I think I would not kick it towards him maybe that's what they've been trying tonight and watch this this one's gonna end up right in his arms so vaguely is not even going to make it to the 50.

okay gets it off this time and it's going to go out of bounds Howie nap had a shot as it falls through his hands coach Kendall giving him a little little trouble on the sideline how we had a chance at making the return but he doesn't that's something we don't talk about enough too Eagles are going to take over at the 37. 139 left in this third quarter see if the Eagles can punch one more one more in here to make it a four score game because like I said earlier I mean I'm never happy with a three score game because all it takes is one fumble return for a touchdown you got a two possession game and it's you're in you're in it so um this is a big drive here I think for the Eagles to kind of get in the end zone go up 30 hopefully and run away with this one in the fourth quarter Eagles got all the guys to the right side of the field last time they ran it to the left they're gonna do it again with wike he's going to try to get behind some of his blockers but he's going to be backed up might give them a yard if anything and it doesn't look like that official is moving your wife and the character Colombia yeah we'll give them a half a yard big thing there though keeps the clock moving 115 on the Manny McGuire group scoreboard in the third quarter Eagles are gonna have one split out to the right side Hicks you're up back Cameron Yannick your pistol running back doubles to the left side Janik and Wetzel they're gonna run it right up the middle good job by ansonus getting a good block there and a good run gonna be close to a first down might even have it we'll see where they Spot It clock keeps moving and it'll be good for Columbia good for Columbia Eagles first down we'll bring up another Columbia eagle that clock's still ticking so you've probably got one play left here in this third quarter before you go into the fourth quarter same formation gonna be a hard count don't get anybody to jump seven seconds on the play clock gonna have to hurry up here if you are vaguely gets it off at the last second they're gonna go up the middle and nothing going as soon as Cameron Yannick took the football he got hit off number 60.

not the play you want to end the third quarter but that's all right the Eagles got a lead at 24 to nothing and I just noticed they fixed that horn sounds better than the first two weeks so that takes that Mandy McGuire group scoreboard 21 24 nothing after three quarters we're gonna head to a break and we will be back with the fourth quarter after this [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign welcome back to the fourth quarter here at the Columbia multi-purpose field we are joined by cheerleading coach Robbie Walters Robbie we never talk about you all but you're when you look at Columbia football you got to think Columbia cheerleading too you talked tonight you had 184 girls come out into your camp this week so after this play you're gonna have to explain your season your camp and how everything's going okay vaguely sends a motion man gonna be a pass play play action they're throwing it to the left side of the field and it's going to fall in complete wike was the nearest receiver but it falls incomplete so 184 girls correct right biggest one ever yes how was that got to be fun right uh pretty insane no no it's a great day the kids look forward to it all year uh we hear about it all year um a lot of the cheerleaders that we have this year actually participated when they were much younger so it's kind of Full Circle moment for them so pretty cool and it's got to be cool Jared always talks when we have blue jay night that how cool it was so those girls kinda it makes it hit home a little bit more for them too huh oh yeah I'm glad they coordinated so everybody could be up here all at once that's that's awesome so on this fourth and 13th vaguely is going to be a pass play he's going to fall in complete had Wetzel just about a yard behind him so you look at your season here you typically all your competitions and everything are winter time right so you got to work all summer to get ready for the fall right but you also have to get ready for the winter time too right yeah uh we're I I consider as a three season sport um even though competitively it's just one season so yeah we start in they try out in May work through the whole summer three days a week all the way to March so it's a long year Freeburg takes over here at their own 31 down 24 nothing going to be a pass play quarterback's going to find a man and it's going to fall incomplete we'll see if we can get a number number one Cole Stewart was the intended receiver the quarterback turn wide receiver so whenever you come in and I'll summer you typically keeping everything the same but I mean when you do competitions you got to change it up every year so what's your goal when you come in at the summer how do you structure your practices to keep ready for all three seasons yeah it's tough um it's hard cheerleading is uh continually evolving sport so trying to keep on top of the trends and you know the the skill level is is difficult AJ Banks the quarterback once again also a lefty he's going to throw it down deep trying to make something happen and it's going to fall incomplete Andrews on the defense nearly had the interception so go on you got to be changing to compete those kind of elite level skills you have to trust each other so a lot of the summer is kind of building that trust kind of seeing where our skill is and how these kids can work together are you going to trust somebody to throw you up in the air not anymore I don't think I would either so third down and ten now for the Freeburg midgets trips to the right side they're going to look for a quick Arrow Route and it's going to fall in complete I would assume number 14 JJ whist was the intended receiver so you look at your history okay you've got a great history great track record a lot of success what do you key that to is it the the stunts that you're doing is it the girls and all their enthusiasm I remember when I was in high school back in the day that's when state champions were rolling through here so right so what do you credit it to um I just think we have passionate coaches that love what we do and we just want to see these kids succeed at the highest level and you know when you can get them to buy in you can do anything so punt this time is going to give a great Eagles bounce I don't know what the Columbia player was doing there Cameron Janik gotta let that one go Bud get away from that one so the Eagles offense will take over here at the freeberg 45-yard line so your coaches how many coaches are on your staff uh I brag on them for a little bit I have an assistant coach Marla Rose and then Whitney Armington who was a former cheerleader and she chaired at Indiana University nice won a couple national championships with them so it's a good one to have yeah that's a good one to have pretty good so what's your schedule look like this year now um Competition schedule uh we we're only allowed five outside of the ihsa state Series so it's pretty short but it's all kind of condensed into one month really drips to the left side gonna be a quick bubble route gonna be caught gonna try to make one man a Miss as the defender got away from Wetzel nothing going there gonna be a loss on the play and condensed that's a great word to use there yes so you know trying to juggle school and basketball cheering basketball games and competing all at the same time it's it's pretty intense so you get to Bloomington is where the state tournament happens correct all right so I'm going to ask I'm going to let you think about this for a second because I always put the coaches on the spot and say give me your favorite memory of Bloomington after this play all right so Eagles are going to have doubles to the left side ball on the left hash 10 15 remaining on the game motion man is Hicks we're going to run to the right side to the wide side of the field good block there by Hicks Vega's gonna have to cut up gonna be brought down by three Freeburg Defenders and I take it back to Cheerleading Coach Robbie Walters favorite Bloomington memory all right highlight um I would things come to mind as the our 2020 season uh right before covid um we just had a phenomenal group of kids who just worked so hard and you know we got out and struggled every competition and they nailed it and say finals when it counted so we ended up third but it was the highest scoring routine we've ever put out and our our daughter was on the team as well so you know that was kind of that was a that was a big one Eagles are going to have doubles to their high side of the field going to be a handoff with Janik he's going to gain maybe five bring up a fourth and eight and I think the Eagles are going to be sending the punt team out so scoring wise for the people that don't understand the scoring like myself included you can kill your routine do a great job on it right but you don't win so how does the scoring happen I know there's difficulty and all that so elaborate on that yeah I know they try to objectify the skills as much as you can but ultimately you're it is subjective so you know you will get ranked kind of based on what they see so you know you can do your best and it may not fall in your favor and sometimes it does you've never been disappointed in the judges right uh yeah we've had our moments but it's the nature of the beasts no you just learn to live with it penalty flag on the play see what the call is going to be so what's your goal is what are you looking forward to this year what's your routine looking like can you give us any insight on that phenomenal group of kids uh yeah they're just they just love cheering games as you can see they love working together and uh They Got Talent they got the hard work they got the magic I mean it's all there so we'll see what happens now you don't show off your uh your routine beforehand correct is that right no we keep it under wraps for a while you'll see us mainly do game stuff but uh behind closed doors where they're killing it so good deal the offsides there on Freeburg brings up a fourth and one coach Warner sends the offense back onto the field trips to the left side running back left send that into motion man vaguely is going to keep it he fakes to the left side he's going to get a first down he's going to keep his feet moving gets away from the tacklers he gets out of more Defenders and he gets inside the 20.

good hard run there by vaguely so final question I'll let you get out here coach Walters how many push-ups do you think the girls have done in a season do you keep track of it I keep track during the games but I've never added them up all the way or through they put them on t-shirts before in some of those Seasons where yeah I think we've had games where they've done and over 500. count me out right I don't even know if nothing give me 500 jumping jacks I don't know if I could do that in a game trips to the right side bunch vaguely is going to let the play clock run pretty far down they're gonna fake the short route they're gonna go to the corner and it's going to be tipped I think at the line of scrimmage and it's going to go into the freeberg hands for a pick at the goal line he's got the 30 40.

got a lot of speed built up and gets tackled at the 50. so coach Walters thanks for coming up we're gonna try to get with you here in the next coming weeks and uh talk about your season okay if you're into that so we're gonna flip the field around real quick thank you for coming up and we'll get Jared back in here thank you so Freeburg now with the big interception good for 50 yards I think it looked like vaguely's vaguley's arm might have been tipped when he was making the throw I still think he tried to waste some more clock there and punch One More In The End Zone you're going home with a win but not over yet not so fast my friend Stuart back now at quarterback and a big run Friedberg really playing with some Firepower now in Columbia a little bit on their heels makes me wonder now the amount of times I've given cold Stewart credit I didn't realize AJ Banks was coming in every once in a while also a lefty so sorry to AJ Banks if you've been a quarterback a couple times and I haven't noticed Friedberg going Tempo now doubles to the right side running back left sniffer back left three down alignment for the Eagles right up the middle once again and it's going to be sniffed out and tackled I believe that's big joke-ish number 27 Caleb Loftus on the carry again that's all you gotta do is grab their ankles Alex can't go anywhere when you grab their ankles you cannot Hicks comes off for the Eagles same formation for the it's going to be a pass this time they're looking to the right side he's looking for banks who had the middle of the field now the quarterback's just going to have to try to make something happen not going to be able to do it brought down for the sack mathematics Matic Stefan on the sack I was wondering why he wasn't going after him a little earlier because he was kind of playing the flat there and I don't think he was really guarding anybody behind him they had all deep routes um but great job there buddy Stefan to just flow with that quarterback and whenever he wanted to turn up feel he was right there to make a play big third down here Joe Kish was wanting to get off the field kenningstein probably go for it he's ready to get on high snap look or slow snap rather gonna be a run this time by the quarterback he's not going to have anything and maybe again a one looked like Logan Hicks again and I bet he's got himself 10 tackles tonight because he's been all over the field filling in for Brandon Jackson and he's doing a great job doing it Joe Kish comes off so does Schnabel kenningstein comes on with Anthony anthonus the sophomore really enjoy watching Anthony he's a fast motor out there on the field pass play once again for the fourth and 12.

Eagles are bringing everyone just gonna have to dump it off and they're gonna have to make a tackle now keep him in front of him and it's a good job by the Eagles bringing down Caleb Loftus and it's going to be looks like Mason vaguely upper Columbia on the tackle looks a little shaken up Mason the sophomore playing defensive back so it's a turnover on Downs it doesn't look like anybody knows what's going on Mason didn't know he got the ball back he was waiting to play the next play over there that cornerback position same way with Peyton Andrews he's trying to stay out there for a wide receiver of play and Coach Warner recognizes that just had guys a little bit of everywhere so coach Warner is going to burn a timeout 5 42 remaining on the Mandy McGuire group scoreboard like I said Columbia a little bit on their heels there as we've gone on here if I'm coach owner I would take this drive to just work on some extra other alignment that you want to put in um yeah you're up three scores but work a couple new guys in there with with the first team um just just to give them some reps uh in Prime Time football I mean with only five minutes left in this game um you can travel down the field give free bird the ball back with I mean under two minutes so um give some other guys in there and see what they can do once again thank you to our sponsors you see them rolling through the bottom of the screen all night make sure they support us make sure we go support them without our sponsors we couldn't do this thank you to the listeners for coming in week in and week out next week I believe we are on the road at Salem maybe I think we have Salem it oh yeah we're at home I think I don't know we'll have to look at the schedule on that one I don't think we have a home game though I'll look that up yeah I think our next home game is probably homecoming gonna be a tight end with a sniffer back here for the Eagles gonna be a handoff though to Yannick right up the middle he follows a couple guys with a hole and he's gonna gain late hit gain seven is gonna be a late hit Logan Hicks gets absolutely blown up personal foul a number 66 and they were 15 or 15 yards away from the play where the ball was going probably just be called unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct on this play should be an automatic first down I believe yeah it should be 15 yards I believe against revert just really uh I'm gonna say a bad penalty right there like you said you're 15 yards away the play is over with at that time too so not what you're wanting there if you're Freeburg but it's going to be 15 yards for the Eagles 5 35 now left in the ball game clocks ticking looks like vaguely is going to be taking his time here gonna go up the middle another good run here for the Eagles gain of seven cam janick really having a good two weeks here for the Eagles on the uh offensive side of the football Colombia is going to be next week looking up their schedule we'll get this uh officially out there Columbia is going to be at Wood River next week second and four under five minutes remaining now game slows down a little bit here four down lineman for the midgets three linebackers vigley's gonna hand the ball off right up the middle and it's going to try to be bent outside by Bryant gonna be a loss of one forgot about Wood River there so we're gonna go at Wood River next week they are at Central currently Wood River is 4-0 leaving the conference with that 4-0 Central is three and one third down in five for the Eagles and they're gonna make them jump offsides on the midgets so next week will be an audio only broadcast we will not have the cameras not sure on the uh the quality of the connections at visiting schools so bear with us if you would if you would see the production we have up here you would understand our concerns Mr Nickerson and the Columbia High School do a great job getting everything ready for us week in and week out First and Ten here for the Eagles gonna be a pistol back with the running back under 10 seconds now vaguely is just going to let it run down as far as he can before snapping gonna hand the ball off to Bryant good good patience there gain of four good job letting that blocker get in front of him yeah it's it's pretty nice now uh establishing Yannick in the Run game because now you have Bryant janick and wike you can stick back there with Don Begley um and then you have Wetzel and uh the other Yannick on the outside and then you have big Carter Hicks that can catching balls every now and then so this offense is starting to get established a little bit um I know 12 everybody expects 12 to run the show but it's nice whenever you have that Supporting Cast and that can help you out a little bit during a game fans filing towards the exits now the game's slowing down gonna be another handoff pull it to the right side this time as Bryant gonna make it to the line of scrimmage and nothing farther the the officials blow it dead gonna be a gain of nothing brings up a third and seven and now you're under three minutes probably get this snap if you don't get it I would punt it away and give the ball back to them with about 20 or two minutes left in this ball game gonna let it run down I think if you're coach Horner here you call One play or call timeout and discuss this try to get a first down and walk away with your win right now under five seconds now we're back officials starting to count it down 220 it's gonna be a handoff up the Middle with Bryant gonna be good for about three and looks like the punt team is Gonna Come on number 43 is Tucker Murphy make sure once again we will be doing the Holton meets Coaches Corner weekly talking with the coaches here at Columbia listen to that on Spotify make sure you like us on Facebook like us on YouTube subscribe to the YouTube page kchs share everything you can get the word out wykes deciding he wants to be an up back this time fourth and four punt gets off a high punt haven't seen that yet tonight it's going to bounce at the 20.

get an eagle bounce inside the 10 keeps on rolling Let it Go boys to the eight yard line where it is downed teams are gonna be looking at college is gonna be looking at him like damn he's a good kicker man got kicker he's got throwing running he does it all good win here for the Eagles once again and I'm gonna go with number 54 uh Logan Hicks as my player of the game tonight big night tonight from him I found him for Brandon Jackson at that middle linebacker spot come up made a lot of plays and really really big uh in the Run game tonight so that's your player of the game huh that's mine I might have to go the same one with you is that the first unanimous Loftus on the carrier to the left side he's gonna be wrapped up by Ben Scott I think that is our first unanimous player of the game we'll see if we can get him on the Holton meets Coaches Corner we've done so well tonight we'll get that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard under a minute now 24-0 Eagles lead this one they're going to improve to four and one one more Victory gets them eligible for the playoffs High snap brought down up the middle this time again another slow developing play good for 12 and a first down for the midgets Eagles go to a four and one they are eligible for the playoffs at five wins you lock yourself in at six so not that we're looking two week ten yet but hopefully it's on the horizon and we're already almost wet we're halfway through the season already we are pass play this time for Friedberg they're going to go verts around the middle of the field tried to snap up into a throw but not able to and it's going to be caught good for 15 and slung down by Mason vaguely but another first down for Freeburg Cameron Janet comes off the field coach Horner wanting the defensive backs to play deeper probably good enough for one more play here 15 seconds and counting now forever gonna Sling It Again they're trying to get the goose egg off the field Columbia is trying to keep it on the field getting chased down now is the quarterback in a crack back block but they're not gonna call it gonna be should be illegal a gain of four I ain't got out of bounds clock's gonna stop and the clock stops with two seconds now this will definitely be our last play one more play to keep that goose egg bit of a statement win here if you're a coach Horner you're able to throw another goose egg up coach Jermaine great job I'm not going to say it yet we still got two seconds to go statement window for the Eagles oh if they score here he'll be watching this play until four in the morning tonight another pass play and it's going to be caught by Freeburg and tackled at the 35 so what a win for the Eagles free bird comes in big Cahokia conference matchup Coach G throws the shot out Eagles win this one 24-nothing we're gonna head to a break and we will bring you the post game show a quick wrap up of the ball game here from the Columbia multi-purpose field after this [Music] big win for the Eagles on that Mandy McGuire group scoreboard 24-nothing huge statement win for Coach Horner coach Jermaine and the rest of the staff uh he come out firing you know like you said it wasn't a great first quarter did just enough to keep it tied keep it close and then you come out second quarter and you get the job done yeah first quarter was kind of sloppy to watch but like I said earlier it wasn't really sloppy to watch it was just two teams trying to fill each other out in that first half and then uh Columbia didn't really light up any big plays which what coach owner said in that pregame show I think they had one big play I I would say 34-yard pass yeah right in the middle of the field over Zach Wetzel I think that's their only big play of the game that really mattered um but then we had Don vegely of course uh getting it done with his arm that big pass down the sideline the Zach Wetzel and then him punching it in and then he had that touchdown pass to Brandon wike on the great play call from coach Warner and then you have that 75-yard run at the start of the second half so Eagles are able to get it done offensive line we never really said vaguely was really scrambling they did a great job protecting them getting some holes for the Rune game defensive line never really had any complaints about them again either so another good victory for the Eagles as a team to improve to four and one they go into East Alton next week haven't got a score from East Alton and Central but that could be your conference Championship again next week too so all these games are always big so we will be week five or week six rather at East Alton once again that'll be an audio only not sure on the Wi-Fi connections we know we can do audio though so with all that being said another good victory for the eagles with thanks to our sponsors Reef schneiders for donating the meal tonight Summit signs for the new signs the Columbia quarterback Club getting their 10 up for the perch tailgate and uh once again don't forget homecoming October 7th the Columbia quarterback Club will be hosting the party for the alumni and that starts about 5 30 6 o'clock over in the perch for our statistician Howie net Todd klaskin Mr Nickerson up here in the booth coach owner coach domain Kendall stop Amazon Baker I think that's all of them I'm Alex lemmer and Jared Germain what do you got to say about tonight's Victory go Eagles baby go Eagles we'll see you all next week in the Holton meets Coaches Corner and the aces wild pregame show at 6 30 on Friday night see you then [Music] greatly appreciated uh if anyone has any uh cell phones Pages Etc if you would kindly put them on vibrate and silence uh chair would greatly appreciate it all right uh that being said Mr Kylie you're going to take the first so Dr gift Mr Kylie sure exception of our fantastic maintenance and custodial employees so if I could just ask uh ask you all to come up to the podium we've got uh because representatives of our maintenance and custodial staff um here and we tonight really just wanted to have an opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work it was uh extremely challenging summer record heat that you know we battled that all summer the conditions were very difficult and we accomplished a lot we've talked a little bit about the projects we worked on this summer we had a great deal of work to do and a short time and uh you know we're able to get everything done and ready for the start of school so I really just want to make sure that you all are recognized and everyone understands how hard it is to to make that happen and over that you know short two-month period and um you're very important to that process and getting ready for the start of school so we have you know we have a great custodial and maintenance staff I'm just gonna you know name the people who are here tonight representing the bigger group um we've got John Bernat Shane Swansea Jacob Andrade Paula Tripp Matthew Demello Kyle Paquette Eddie goncalo Jose Freitas Richie Pereira uh did I miss anybody I don't think so so I just wanted to thank you all for uh for coming tonight and representing the group Chris sure I'll just say thank you all for coming out this evening we really appreciate I truly appreciate your hard work and dedication somewhere after summer we know that's always the uh the busiest time and it's also the hottest time of year so especially in the building so they every every September or every first day of school I should say the the staff come back to uh beautiful looking building so I can't thank you enough for all your dedication and odd work with Dartmouth public school so thank you so I'll just add my thanks and I you know I want to say I know we have some really old buildings in our repertoire here in the schools and part of the reason why we're able to do so much with those buildings is because of the work that you put into them to keep them not just operational but really welcoming and a a great place for our kids to go to school so thank you so much for that I would like to add you know in addition to taking care of the buildings I had a pleasure of attending the open house representing the CPAC at Quinn um last week or the week before and it's not something I didn't know because I have a student that I have three children that have you know that are within the Dartmouth Public Schools but to see all of the kids running up to miss Paula um for a hug and just so excited to see Miss Paula more excited to see me it was incredible and and I know I have a now almost 19 year old young man who attended Quinn and this happens throughout the district but um you make or break a kid's day so it's not only the physical building that you're impacting every day with what you're helping teachers and staff and projects during the summer but you're impacting each student every day I know at first hand and I got to remember it by what happened at Quinn it was incredible so thank all of you that was beautiful so you know I have to Echo that you know having been a classroom teacher I just can say you know the janitorial stuff I mean they were essential and they were my friends and you know we couldn't have gotten through the day without them and what you've gone through and what you've done for our kids over the last few years I mean the the high level that you've had and the amount of work you've had to put in just to you know get us up and running we couldn't have done it without you so you know we're internally grateful as a community for all of you've done so thank you so much it's a pleasure to see you up here and thanks for coming out yeah I kind of echo my colleagues and and that thank you great job uh as hot as it was I don't remember as a tough uh summer as as it was and a lot of the buildings have things going on during the summer so you're working in different areas that maybe you normally don't tackle you know when it's in a systematic way type of deal yet you get it done the maintenance staff you know going by the schools at you know 6 30 at night and seeing the maintenance crew there because there's things that have got to get done uh coolers in kitchens and Floors being redone and such it is greatly appreciated I'm glad we can take you know five minutes to uh to to sit there and say thank you you're you know you are recognizing you are noticed and it is appreciated so thank you for everything thank you thank you thank you for coming thanks for coming all right excuse me okay that being said we've worked we've allocated 10 minutes or public comment and I don't see anybody here that would be doing any public comments so we'll just bounce right over that all right next on the agenda approval of the regular session minutes of September 12th excuse me Mr chair did we roll call in oh thank you good night no no we're just so excited to recognize our custodial staff sorry I apologize I'm gonna call please I apologize thank you you're welcome John News Mary wait yes Kathleen Amaral yes Shannon Jenkins here Chris Oliver yeah yeah okay this is on it all right thank you Chris I appreciate it you're welcome okay so that being said now next order of business will be the approval of the regular session minutes of September 12th moved by Mrs White second by Dr Jenkins on the motion any discussion chair hearing on all in favor aye aye opposed motion carries unanimously all right moving on to consent item agendas okay all right yeah normal stuff yep uh under consent agendas is uh first one is the Quinn PTO funding requests for the upcoming school year 20 to 2023 anybody have any questions no okay chair will entertain a motion to approve so moved second by Dr Jenkins second by Miss White on the motion any discussion to make a note for the public record because not everyone sees this or goes through our documents but I think again it's always important to acknowledge how much our community contributes to our schools that the Quinn PTO raised nearly sixty thousand dollars last year to help support our kids and a lot of of what we see that goes on in this school is because of their hard work and it's also private hard work yeah plant absolutely no doubt about it it's appreciated yep yep okay uh that takes care of that one next one is we have to vote sorry I I we keep Chris and I keep throwing you off your track tonight sorry curveball tonight I'm telling you all right so we have a motion in a second all in favor aye opposed motion carries unanimously Potter PTO any questions Mr Porter and Mrs McHenry are here if they're just wondering if we have a budget attached to this budget attachment I didn't get one there was none attached okay okay okay you know I just wanted to say something too as I look at this um I think you know it it really gives a sense of you know understanding community and understanding your budget that you know they're not coming back I mean we to their folks and until the spring for a fundraiser for the Boosterthon and again I think it's understanding that they have you know enough to cover what they need to cover in the fall and again I know we need we need to articulate that a little bit more but I I think you know to Dr Jenkins Point earlier you know we have so many groups who are con who are coming to our families and our families are doing a lot of work and when we give those families a Break um I I think it's uh it's fair and it's understandable that you know hey you know we don't need to do this right now and we will concentrate our efforts in this spring and that's well thought out so I appreciate that okay so I need a motion I'll make a motion all right thank you Chris second second so I combine this week on the motion any discussion chair hearing on all in favor aye aye opposed motion carries unanimously all right those are easy now the good stuff Dartmouth School Music Association fundraising request and year-end financial report Mr Cheryl move approval by Dr Jenkins second by name is Amaral on the motion any discussion again I'll just note that the dsma raised nearly 170 000 this year right the Excellence of our bands is due in large part to the hard work of people in this community yep yes that's it absolutely it's very appreciated everyone who who contributes and couldn't do it without it and money and also and and work yeah and and the man I was oh yeah no doubt I can attest to that and someone over there can also yes all right so I need a motion so moved I'll make a mushroom did somebody well I think Chris actually I apologize all right chair hearing none all in favor aye aye opposed and uh since my wife was a Treasurer I will abstain all right next item is uh dsma and the music department permission to participate in Band of America championship and this is going to be October 28th to 30th uh down at Rutgers University in piscanaway New Jersey questions Mr Flint is here if there's any questions any anybody has any thing that needs clarified my only question is is in procedural is can I vote on this since I'm my child will go okay yeah all right is this the one that typically takes place at MetLife Stadium is it being moved this is a this is a difference this is a different one this is a different one Ian uh during the pandemic we participated in a virtual event with fans of America um this circuit's a little bit different from our usual uh us bands Nationals U.S bands is divided by the size of your Ensemble so we compete in the group five which is the largest division for U.S bands because we have over 100 students in the marching band but bands of America is divided by school size so we're going to a competition that's we're going to compete in the double a class so where this there's single double triple quad so we'll go against groups there's groups come from Pittsburgh come from Virginia that will be in our classification by school size and there's a grand champion for the event so there's all classes go against each other in the finals competition so there's preliminators in the morning where they determine the classification Champions and then at night there's a grand champion where everybody goes against each other so this is new for us so there'll be a bands up upwards of 300 people in them and then groups maybe 20 30 people just depends on the size of the Ensemble and these regionals attract the top competitive ensembles from different States you know into one region so it's close to New York City so people are making New York City trips so we see groups from you know six seven eight hours away coming to this so pretty excited for it so something different for us and it's a new competition so great thank you for the explanation all right any other questions okay I'll move approval Jenkins second by Mr Oliver on a motion any discussion chair hearing no Nolan fever bye opposed motion carries unanimously Good Luck Good Luck Ian good luck [Applause] correct you can correct me if I'm wrong when we pull out of when we pull out of New York in the morning we'll go into nesma finals yeah yeah so that we we have four championships in two weekends so we'll leave on Friday um head down uh head down to New Jersey do the prelims at about 12 o'clock finals around eight or nine pm and then the next day we're on a seven o'clock back up here in Redding so we'll leave Sunday morning drive straight up and go to reading for the New England championships so that's the plan that weekend and then the next weekend we do a quick trip down to New Jersey down and back on the Saturday so we're going to drive down to U.S bands Nationals but come right back because we can only you know really do one overnight it's only so much fundraising you can do right so so but we can do that as a down and back we've done that before for Nationals all right thank you sir I think there's a parent bus that uh is going to be part of that for Nationals for giant Stadium yeah MetLife I should say yeah okay uh old business uh superintendent's evaluation a summative uh we're gonna move this to uh our next meeting because we just got everything in and Murphy's law took hold this week so we're just gonna push this to um looking at the date yeah what is it October 17th 17th we only have one in October yeah October 17th yeah so we'll move it to there okay thank you for everybody for getting those in it's much appreciated so we're good okay uh excuse me new business uh Capital Improvement Plan update Mr Kylie thank you Mr noon so have some good news to share I provided you with the breakdown of the capital Improvement plan um articles that we had proposed in what has been slated and included on the warrant for the October town meeting so we have door and window replacement uh which also relates to security improvements that is included on the warrant for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars we have uh telephone intercom system upgrades also related to Security in some ways slated at two hundred and ten thousand dollars on the warrant playground improvements two hundred and fifty thousand dollars parking lot repaving one hundred and fifty thousand dollars furniture replacement one hundred and fifty thousand dollars so there's just over a million dollars included on the warrant uh for Town meetings we were we were thankful uh you know for the support of of the Town side of government um At Last I had checked I wasn't sure if all the boards had voted on this so they may you know they may uh have a recommendation one with the one way or the other on this but all indications were that they were going to be supportive of this couple items that um were not included so we received some funding in June two hundred thousand dollars for technology that's already received we the High School tennis court reconstruction the select board voted to authorize use of the arpa funds that the town received for that so we'll be getting that directly from them and then the high school roof replacement was not moved forward at this point and really that relates to the msba process and the need for that window will open up likely in January so we can look at applying in January and trying to determine if if in fact we might be on their list for consideration at that time and then we could move forward for another town meeting to do that I have been made aware that roofing prices have skyrocketed for those projects since um you know this is this number has been on the capital Improvement plan for several years now so um we'll have to contend with that for sure as we as we move forward but um so that's that's where we are with the old capital Improvement plan and then we're already starting the new one so we're starting that process in-house and uh you know working with the principals and uh and um John Bernat and facilities and uh the directors and coming up with our new Direction uh for the next for the June town meeting here we go never-ending no never ending okay thank you any questions from Mr Kiley Dr Jenkins um can I a couple questions the high school roof replacement I know we're not getting it but that number does that represent how outdated as it is total cost or are cost assuming msba reimbursement outdated total cost okay so likelihood actual our cause if we get reimbursement at this point sadly that could be and then the second question is since we're talking about um Capital uh I know you know everyone I hear I want to say what's that big building going up behind the behind the stadium so maybe could you give us an update about that because people are sure so rumors are flying about what we're building back there I've heard them but also heard some very creative results that's right right oh an indoor swimming pool well that one's better than some of the yeah so uh what we are we are building the stadium storage building there that's part of the stadium project so in in hopes that at some point we're able to move forward and renovate the stadium uh one of the things that we needed to accomplish was create space inside the stadium to hold bathrooms and concessions we one of the main benefit one of the main benefits of maintaining the old structure was that we would be able to make efforts to come up to building code on bathrooms but not have to build a whole new structure to house bathrooms so but in doing that we have to do our best good faith to actually try and provide as close to the code as possible there's a great deal of storage and things that that need to you know need to be tucked away in the stadium so the storage building was a was a step to do that we actually bid that out at a fairly good time like before the prices kind of got absolutely crazy um I mean they were high but they weren't as crazy as they would have been if we waited another six months or so so I guess that's the good news there so we're we're constructing that it's not not an easy project and it's not without its delays um and I think any construction project right now is problematic and that one has its problems but we will uh it's nice to see some green siding on there and uh we're getting there that's it for me what's wrong with it did you have any questions uh yeah so uh going back to the high school roof what's the likelihood Mr Kylie that we would even be considered for msba funding I can't give you a definite but I can say that I I am going to make every effort to try and understand whether we would be considered before we put it on a town meeting Warren so you know to get on a town meeting Warren it's going to go through the whole process right so we've got to get through the capital Improvement we've got to first present it to the school committee for your endorsement and then go through the capital Improvement planning committee and the finance committee and the select board and town meeting um and we have to have votes in place that are specific to the msba requirements when we go to town meeting and to the boards if it appears that that's not realistic then we'll probably approach it in another way um msba has a limited pool of funds they're funded by a penny on the sales tax in Massachusetts they have over the years set different timelines different different lengths of service for things like roofs as their guideline for application ours is 20 years old probably 21 when you count that it was on the building before the building opened and but you know 2021 use that is all of the useful life for a roof like that so I guess you know we've gotten our money's worth but the reality is it's going to be a maintenance problem if we don't replace it soon but we'll make our you know we it's not that we can't maintain it in a patchway but it will leak and we will fix the leaks and string it along as long as necessary I think there's no doubt that the msba will approve it at some point but it's just whether or not it'll be in the next cycle or the cycle after or maybe it'll take 25 years to do it that's really depends how much money they have sure all right well thank you alrighty anything else on the CIP plan I just want to thank you Jim thank you so much for everything I appreciate it it's a lot of hard work into this and convincing town meeting and you know doing really nice thank you thank you and thank you for all your support sir okay uh superintendent update alrighty thank you a few things this week as I said we had a lot on the docket last week so we've settled in pretty well all the elementary schools are working on their various rallies Etc but I did have some information from Potter this week so they've talked about their whole school assemblies that they've already had and I'm really celebrating I think you've heard Mr Porter talk about pausing to be kind pausing to be safe and pausing to be a learner so they're focusing in on that and of course with that they're having kiddos show how they've been kind and and safe and and all of that throughout the first few weeks of school they've also started what they call The Energy Bus for kids and it's a story about filling the day with positive energy and focusing on the positive instead of the negative I've seen a lot of emails come through on that and again Mr Porter wanted to share that um that Focus that they have at the school at the middle school I'm happy to announce that after an interview process that to the team at the middle school went through Sam Madden who is a phys ed teacher right now he's been in the district for 16 years but he'll be taking over from Mr Rossi as AP when Mr Rossi moves into the principal position later in the year so he came over today and and we chatted a little bit about that so the team was excited for that and also at the middle school this week there will be an ALICE drill happening and notification will go out um the night before to parents just so people aren't fearful of what's going on so that's just one other step in the process that we're we're doing throughout the district I know also at the elementaries they're working on as we talked about before reading about staying safe book and all of that so that's all well underway grade seven will have a career day coming coming next week October 5th so I know I've been over there many times for that so that's always a fun time as well the high school has a college fair coming up I believe that's tomorrow um where the students will be able to um Breeze through the various options that they have including military etc etc and um of course you all know we had our dedication ceremony at the high school this past week as well as at the football game and all was well attended and I think very nice ceremony I know Mr Nunes wants to mention a little bit on that as well it was just nice to see the people that attended and the emotion behind um what this meant to them so I was happy about that and just lastly uh the district I talked to you last time about the work that we're going to be doing about our strategic plan development working with learn launch through the deci initiative so we had our first meeting with the folks that are from each school that are on that team along with a number of other districts so that's a virtual meeting and and it was a couple of hours meeting and we'll be following up our team by ourselves before the next one focusing in on again it's about fostering positive relationships so that's kind of it for this past week thank you any questions for the superintendent thank you you're welcome okay uh my turn report of the chair uh I get a bunch of things well nothing or shattering uh first first I'd like to turn it over to uh Ms Waite to let her talk about the def awards that happened uh last two weeks ago I think so about a week and a half Wednesday yeah no chance to get here so oh no no so it's always like such a great um evening or afternoon just to be able to hand those Awards out um you know I I just think you know looking back over the the process the def was formed in 2007 in a time that you know we were really struggling with the budget and uh you know some of those folks are still like part of this um committee and and again it's it's you know continued and and I believe we gave out 11 different grants as well as some of the grants that we weren't able to fund the schools worked along with us to make sure that teachers got those those materials that they were looking for um so and I really was impressed by a lot of the grants that we and I I think it reflects the time around social emotional needs so one of the grants we had was for the high school special education department and they were looking for weighted blankets and things like that so they would have some more Tools in their toolbox and then of course we had some of the traditional we have the robotics but again like looking to you know engage part of their Grant they're using for middle schoolers you know for their high schoolers to go to the middle school and really do some work with the middle schoolers and introducing robotics in his recruitment so just you know a really extensive range we have you know puppets that were being used but again like to model that you know social emotional role playing and everything else so it was you know it's just a testament to you know the desire for these these teachers to really bring these materials into the classroom and excite their kids I mean you know Miss perrotti is you know prime example I mean every year he just brings more and more equipment to his to his students and you know he's built up a great program where those kids are graduating from here with real hirable skills so um again it's it's nice you know we you know Dr James was mentioning before we have lots of different groups that are really trying you know privately to you know support our kids and it's a real team effort so and we're really appreciative again to the schools for working alongside to make sure that we funded almost I think again I they were you know I think it was only three thousand dollars that weren't funded out of all those requests that came about to about 25 000 so that was great that's good just and again thank you personally thank you to the def and you know when you think about the fun time spelling bee type of deal that you know I mean I can't spell eye in the first person and I you know I look at I look at those yeah okay you know no thank you but like but seriously that's where that money is going to and and that's appreciative it's the little things that you know you talk about the fundraising that everybody has to do nowadays because unfortunately the budget can't can't take it I mean again I'll go back and I'm an old you know hat at this type of deal but if we had the state spending we'd have seven million dollars and I but we'd be golden right right so we don't so we have to do what we do with what we have and everyone else pitches in and it doesn't go unnoticed and it's appreciative and I did want to say you know Dr Jenkins spent a lot of time on the on the committee as well and the advisory committee for the DF and was a real part of this and the great thing about the spelling bee is you know it is such a nice Community effort and we do have our teachers and staff that you know come out and participate and as well as you know call it in some really great costumes so we're hoping those will continue although we've pushed that to the spring this year just uh you know kind of looking at the funding cycle but it is uh notable that that event you know when it was it's great because it really has very little overhead so almost the entire revenues that are raised are like really pushed back into those grants which is you know fabulous it's good thank you okay uh I'd just like to congratulate uh Rachel Lassie who is the girls volleyball coach getting inducted into the Massachusetts volleyball girls volleyball Hall of Fame very well deserved and such so congratulations to her best wishes to Mike capella he's staying on as a teacher thank you very much Mike but his retiring is our boys hockey coach so you know big void to fill there but he's been he has been here an awful long time so Dr Jenkins Dr Jenkins my apologies Dr Gifford happened to mention about the plaque unveiling uh Friday which was just absolutely fantastic type of deal I just want to take this minute to my colleagues who were there uh Friday night and other you know Dr Gifford and Mr Kiley and a lot of other people I didn't get them to mention you I had a Time clock in the back of my head going off because of how much time we had to get it done to get the band on so that we didn't get bagged 15 yards for a delay a game at the start of the second half was not going to happen on my watch so I I apologize if I wasn't it wasn't planned it wasn't purposeful so I you know that that type of deal I left you a uh an email that I got from Peter Chase who's the director of diamond cable television uh they're going to the diamond select board next Monday night at 6 30 uh for their ascertainment hearing on renewing the town's cable contract and everything else and he's looking you know for people to show up and you know good bad indifferent on how they find diamond Community uh cable television type of deal I plan on going uh I will is in full disclosure let them know that I'm you know the chairman of the school committee I'm also a member of the Dartmouth School Music Association uh but I will also let them know that I'm there representing me I'm not you know comments are mine and not the comments of the committee or the Music Association so if anyone you know would like to show up you know I gave you a copy that email and uh you can you go from there uh and last but not least uh this Saturday uh uh starting at uh six o'clock we've got our U.S band competition uh that I'm at the gold diamond goes on at nine o'clock uh it is uh ten dollars for adults and eight dollars to students to get in so the stats at uh it starts at uh six o'clock uh damn it goes on at nine Awards will be right after type of deal and then two weeks later on the 15th we are hosting our nesberg New England Scholastic band competition that one starts at five o'clock uh again ten and eight dollars uh to get in uh Diamond goes on schedule at this point in time to go on at 7 20.

foreign all right good evening it's very nice to see everyone here this evening I will um welcome you all to the regular school board meeting for the board of school trustees for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation so it's very nice to have everyone here we start our meetings with reflections of one of the school board members and y'all are so lucky that it's me tonight so I was thinking about given some events that we had in the school of education at Indiana University this past week I really reflected on the integral work of teachers in schools in developing each learner's skills and how to read introducing Learners to different genres and topics and really developing learner skills to analyze what they read to think critically about new diverse or even controversial subjects I myself have an Avid Reader in the various books afford me the opportunity to travel if you will the different regions of the U.S to different countries I even get to time travel if you will to different events and times in the history of our country in the world how thrilling and rewarding each of these travels is as I complete another book I know that I've grown in some way to better understand individuals and their lives or our history so the aim of the work of our teachers is for each learner to grow to mature to understand better the world around them and to participate actively and improving the world in some small way or transformative way Central to our core beliefs those about rising to the challenge of high expectations and the one on learning is most effective when we have Choice flexibility and see relevance those core beliefs are are fundamental it's fundamental that our Learners have the ability to read and to be able to analyze and to think critically about what we read so also I mentioned in thinking about our core beliefs I'll highlight the value that we place on democracy and that core belief of our democracy and our Democratic institutions are strengthened by Civic minded citizens so in that vein I will highlight that this week there will be debates among the candidates for our four School Board seats one of them is this Tuesday evening tomorrow night and the other on Thursday evening these debates are hosted by our own Columbus Education Association and the Bartholomew County retired Teachers Association they are providing an important community service and I do encourage everyone to listen to be informed about each of the candidates and ultimately I encourage each and every one of you to vote thank you so if you are able I encourage you to stand and join us in the Pledge of Allegiance thank you I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all right all right we have five of our board members here tonight that qualifies as a quorum so I will call this meeting to order and again as the in the way that we start each of our meetings it is mindful for us to be think about our vision as a School Corporation our mission and our core beliefs and these direct us in the decision making that we have before us this evening and at each of our meetings and as is my favorite thing to do I get to play with the devil so I'm going to gavel out of our regular school board meeting and I will gavel in to a public hearing all right but I'll only hit that once so we're officially in a public hearing as to our 2023 budget it is good to see you Mr Phillips it's good to be here thank you Dr shed as is the case um each year with the budget we go through three consecutive meetings the last meeting was a workshop where I shared much of this information that you're going to see tonight this evening is the public hearing on the 2023 budget and then the next board meeting would just be the adoption vote no presentation at the next meeting but this is an opportunity I'll run through the the same information that we did last time but a slightly more quickly and from here instead of from home and then um we're happy to take questions from any of the board members and or the public as you see fit doc shed so this is the overall budget summary includes uh 5.1 percent increase over the prior year the majority of that is especially from a dollar standpoint is between the operations fund and the education fund and then we're going to go into each one of these in a little bit of detail this is the the only slide that I have some updates for you based on from when we we sent this out on um when when Mrs Chrisman sent it out on Thursday of last week so the only thing that has been updated on here from the last time I presented and it's actually not on this screen I'm just going to give you a verbal update today is the ADM estimates so I mentioned last time that we had a very rough idea of of how things were coming along with ADM I would still say it's it's fluid based on the way that the state now our technology systems talk to the state every evening it just we upload and they sink and anytime there's two students claimed by the same school corporation there's a conflict and we spend lots of weeks working that out and so we even made some changes today but at this point I am now going to estimate that our our fall ADM will be very close to flat and so that's good news over the 75 student decline that I had anticipated last time and it's good news because we've gained those students back from somewhere so the 75 student deficit was basically the difference between the graduating class at the end of last school year and our incoming kindergarten class which was Kindergarten kindergartens across the country are down this year because for some reason in 2016 it was the lowest birth rate in a in a couple of decades so that's the incoming kindergartners right now and so we have made up those students between grades 1 and 12 this fall so that's good news so that would while I haven't updated the the revenue projections based on that if that comes to fruition it will end up being about a total of five hundred thousand dollar swing increase in in revenues for a calendar year 2023 of course we still have to have the count in February of 23 and then also in the fall of 23 and that also depends on the other assumption I put in there that the legislature this coming spring during our budget session would allocate a four percent increase in state tuition per per pupil tuition this cup for this coming fall fall from now the other assumptions remain the same that in February will be down about 150 students it's usually somewhere between 125 and 150 about 50 or 60 of whom are early graduates kids that graduate at the end of December and then we would be flat in September of 2023 which is the assumption that I usually build in for budgetary purposes that there's no student growth and then a decline of one teacher paid from the education fund this is again education fund assumptions and an ad of one non-certified staff staff member and then Health premiums I mentioned before the Assumption we're building in there is four percent I had a meeting this afternoon things are looking really strong from a Health Plan perspective and so I would anticipate that we'll be a little bit less than that even for 2023.

foreign I'm going to fix it all right foreign okay it is seven o'clock and I'd like to call the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance please thank you well good evening and welcome to the September regular meeting of the Greencastle School Board first item on the agenda tonight is adjustments to the agenda Mr Gibney yep I don't have any adjustments to the agenda for this month okay makes that easy next item is public comments regarding tonight's agenda items because they won't have any comments tonight hearing none um are we missing oh no excuse me next item recognitions Mr Gibney yep Mr McHugh right over that I'd like to introduce you to Henry Hubbard Henry is a second grader and this is and just what you see there with the greeting I can tell you that I've not had a student who has been nominated by so many people by for a student of the month Miss Wood writes Henry is an absolute Delight to have in our classroom he greets all of his teachers with the polite words and smiles he also demonstrates a True Heart of Gold with his manners and general interest in others he is a hard-working student who is a friend to all Henry exemplifies a great student of the month for Deer Meadow he has an ability that's adults can learn from when he says good morning in the morning and how are you he stops and listens and then he asks follow-up questions he is a great interest in people love school he's a hard worker and we're proud to have him as our August into the month Henry Hubbard [Applause] and since we're just kind of getting back into the swing and things with students of the month after we recognize each student month we have the Greencastle photo backdrop set up down the hall so we can take pictures in front of that and then you're welcome to come back in and join us or you need to get your student home we also understand that as um Mr Roberts thank you well hello good evening I'd like to introduce everyone to Eden little a kindergarten student from redpath and I'm going to read what her teacher Mrs Harvey wrote about her I am nominating Eden little this month because she has shown respect responsibility and Grit Eden is respectful to her peers and all adults in the building by following rules and listening well Eden has shown responsibility by participating in lessons and being on task at all times Eden has shown grit throughout these beginning days of school by trying her best and not giving up when she gets frustrated I know that Eden is going to do to grow a lot this year since she is such a great student and one word that stuck out to me there is grit and I think that's something that we try to instill in all of our students because whether you're in kindergarten or a grown adult things are going to get hard and being able to persevere and do your best even when things are difficult is it's a difficult thing to learn and so we're super proud of Eden for showing that as a kindergartner so congratulations thank you Mrs Rose so it is my pleasure to represent TZ by introducing Maite Vasquez Maite is a third grader am I saying your name right I always I always have to ask Maite is a third grader and Mrs Schaefer's third grade class and just to set the stage a little here and this is shaper has two students that have come to us this year with no English background one for Mexico and one from Puerto Rico and we have no one in our building adult wives that speak Spanish yes because this little girl speak Spanish and English both wonderfully and she has not only taken two students under her wing and helped them by helping translate and helping them acclimate and learn how to do school in the United States but she is also teaching our staff some valuable words in Spanish and also just accepting others from other cultures so Mrs Schaefer has written this about my take Maite is an amazing student she is always so kind and sweet she has been a great help to her teacher this year eager to assist translate help others and just do whatever she has asked everything Maite does is with a smile and that is a special quality that we all appreciate at TZ thank you my take for representing our school our class and our whole District you are a wonderful example of what everyone should strive to be and that was what Mrs Schaefer wrote about my type stuff [Applause] thank you this is McPherson my student of the month was not able to make it tonight would you like me to go ahead and read so our student of the month is 8th grader MJ Cooper her eighth grade teachers nominated her for student of the week earlier this year and they all agree that MJ is always very engaged in class is a great communicator and is a very driven and focused student they are proud of the way she advocates for herself and always works toward her goals [Applause] Mr Rogers I'm so excited actually about this so this is July's McCord she's a senior for us um if you would have asked me had she been here when she was a freshman or sophomore I've been like something when she was nominated I cannot tell you the amount of job I had that Mrs good pastor had because there's been a lot of a lot of times we've worked with you right she is a hybrid student for us and what that means is she does part part-time alt-ed for us and then she does part-time regular school right and she's knocking it out of the park she's an absolute different kid this is why we will say sometimes you're like a work of art don't judge them until you're finished and you're going to get finished July [Applause] [Laughter] okay next item on this is the approval of the consent agenda which consists of the meeting minutes of the special meeting of July 11 2022 executive session meeting minutes from August 22nd 2022 in a regular so some key members of our team here and then we have a few parent leaders who are equally important in this work Susanna is here and Wendy Erica and Josette if you want to raise your hands real quick and then we've got some members of our Board of Education as well if you have any questions from the important perspective so Tracy Lovett is here as well as that's um a couple representatives from our Board of Trustees so that's who's in the house for the University of prep this evening um thank you all and thank you for joining us this evening um I think we'll start by giving our board members today to ask questions um I skipped over a very important part I forgot I'm sure you met the rest of our board but uh I would like to welcome Miss Lucy Molina she's learning the support of director I had appointed last week so thank you for being here congratulations on vacation thank you thank you okay good evening so the first question we have here isn't it true that based on the December 14 2021 presentation you prep made the following representations to the items 14 Board of Education dual language competence programming supporting whole Child Development social emotional learning parentheses sdl full day offering at no cost to families serving students with special needs tapping enrollment at 16 students per room serve early childhood education through fifth grade including free day and Free State fourth year old programming engaged in a slow growth model by launching ECE three fourth and kindergarten to start in August 2022 and join one trade level at a time each year you prep with being physically located in Commerce City year two would serve Pre-K 3 Pre-K for kindergarten through first grade the first question okay uh I think we have all the points that you just asked just want to make sure that we're doing a response one we wanted to make sure we're part of the district's solution to putting more kids on a path to a suicide literally means academic Proficiency in both languages English and Spanish and so we propose which is written in the application is a really clear program that does two things one it enhances the quality of English language acquisition quality it's a really rigorous Ela program and that program is accessible for all students including those who are emerging bilingual students so that includes a full English language development blog for 45 minutes a day and always added that is unique to the preposition is a track for Spanish language acquisition for both the native speakers and non-native speakers that would be part of core instruction just as math is or Ela or science or history and so that is a unique element of our proposed new school that we set up to to create with our families that they ask for very clearly that they want Spanish language acquisition to be an instrumental in the program so it is not defined as a dual language program to clarify but it is absolutely embracing of native Spanish-speaking families and children and ensuring that that language is seen as an asset and then all the further through the Spanish language program TL is actually sponsored working with our families to determine the curriculum that'll be part of that Spanish language program to be part of every kid's daily instructions um so I want to confuse that with thinking like math is taught in Spanish there's definitely a dual language or emerging language there's lots of different models but as written in the application as a proven December we will have a Spanish language program as part of the core Academic Program and cl has already been hired and is working on that during this year zero planning year to get to that album so if you hired the staff to do that our families are working on it with TL to bring that to life so if that was a question one uh question two absolutely yes we believe in serving the whole child we believe in programming and support to make sure all aspects of a child are nurtured we do better our current campuses and you tend to do that fully on our new campus and that is also laid out in the application and that comes from everything for morning meeting programs to a sort of Justice practices all the things that build character and develop a hotel Beyond core academic programming if you want to learn more about that understand more about that apartment program I'm happy to turn it over to Miss Howard and just to describe more in detail but yes answer that question short days yes uh Syrian students with special needs 100 yes I believe the district average is roughly around 14 of students with IEPs as the application States and as it was approved maintenance certainly very similar if not exact population of the school district our current schools are between 11 and 12 students with IEPs which matches the average in the district be currently operated our goal is to match the exact student demographics of the populace within Adams 14.
