nap is in there all of those groups are potential allies to the commons the center of the city um and also if you went to the 50th anniversary of project grow you saw a poster that was made by the initiating committee that had a logo on it that that shows the five Wards of the city with a little red circle in the middle and it says center of the city it's it belongs to you and me so I I applaud your idea to find a theme for this you know something that works maybe for now I thought Erica said was very good let's avoid the contention within the community so you can draw more people in maybe it's called The Heart of the City or Ann Arbor Commons or Central Park or something else like that but be creative about it and keep open an open mind uh and as Alice said um this is uh just getting things in motion the RFP if you read through the the other RFI response that was there it talks about a basic fundamental process Adam referred to as pre-planning I called it in the very first meeting I commented to it's called programming architecturally it has a soft part to it and hard parts to it you may want to consider that the RFP is almost a two-phase thing where in the initial pre-planning work where you kind of test the waters you integrate that with the short-term activations so that you get real-time feedback the people I know that do research and innovation in rapid prototyping use that kind of real-time feedback to to gain Advantage at lower cost and more rapid results and with that in mind I wholeheartedly support Adam's non-organic process where you put this down on paper have a calendar not just from now to the year end with your working group goals but that you make a calendar out into the future a little bit and just let that be a template when my dear friend Peter pollock a great planner for the city talked about does he refer to the idea of framework plans because as Alice said very well we may end up with something very different and if you keep an open mind and refer to the collaborative process and Innovative process you and all the rest of us will be amazed so good luck tomorrow the green Fair find those Liaisons there that you can bring into the space here and I really hope that Mr dehoney the parks department and the other key people remind her about Jessica black she is a great resource within parks and activator herself so um and then there's much more to be said about the funding but I think as you go like this you will draw funds to you that will will activate this very well so congratulations again tonight you did a great job and good luck in this this aligned planning for the future steps especially the next meeting so thank you Adam for your leadership and thank you all for how you're working respectfully together much appreciated thanks Robert any other members of the public no I'm not see anybody else with a handout okay in that case I could we have a motion to adjourn move to adjourn all right and motion and seconded uh all in favor say aye aye aye all right have a wonderful evening everybody thanks everyone

that is in under fund 855 855 is not normally are recognized part of the accounts but that is where we put our employee big benefits so that's why that figures are so I just kind of wanted to address those two prior to the to those actually it's a 69 000 restricted it gets restricted to just a priesthood all right any use in for example just it has to be used somewhere it just has within the preschool program so it can go towards salaries within preschool it can go towards a new playground they can go towards sensory items because as long as the only other caveat it has to deal with is that the department so if it's a calligraphy it's a playground equipment it has to be that successful okay page eight of nine this is something that I think a lot of you would like some understanding of or some background not we finally have students enrolled and gifted so we have got those kids that we identified and it shows that we have a total of 13 within those categories and honestly it's only for 10 students we did have a couple students who qualified in multiple areas so one may have qualified but then qualitative reasoning and verbal reasoning at the same time and or or all three so just so you know that we did have students that that qualify within the gifted in multiple categories page an item nine over on the left hand side of the screen and on the on the reports in front of you I just kind of wanted to put your attention towards the utilities and the energy detail and it's the third box from the left on the bottom so that's 64 10 64 11 that 8 827 that's what we spent on water and the 6620 through 6629 energy at 263 370 is what we spent on the electricity unleaded and diesel fuel so just to kind of give you an idea of what our utility bills look like I mean with adding the fuel in there it doesn't really give you a good idea of what our actual spending was on the electric but know that it's right around 220 000 over the course of years and that's fuel for the buses foreign I I knew this before I walked in here but now because I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure it's Farmer's walk it is and that is all I have that I wanted to highlight within the AFR um so now I will turn it over to you Mr President to do your thing do you have a motion to uh through the October 6th version of our video have a little discussion I'm leaving down there I have a quick question yes ma'am um on page four um student transportation in the first section uh 2700.

um under property 128 is better at least payment on the bus I know that is not that would be the purchase of two new buses or I'm sorry I'm the purchase of the two bands okay and the Marshall and then the payment on a new box so yes so it's one bus that was purchased into two bands okay and then in the second box um they're under vehicles the fingers a little bit off the pretty close 123 473 so the vehicles is specific to itself um when you're talking property 6700 that takes care of the entire range of everything that's within there this is that bottom is actually just kind of giving you a breakdown of a more specifically okay all right thank you man don't forget to add anything to go through it I think one of the things um right true but the spreadsheet doesn't accept it only accepts on numeric foreign no no there is not there are there everything is everything is Formula driven coming out of a an uploaded database with our problem our financial information and a lot of it is pre-loaded so everything that is in here is coming from our accounting software there are certain sections that require manual entry and those looks in one of those sections is that page with the uh the enrollments of gifted students so you provide enough with a PDF document correct yes ma'am well you know there's a couple of things that I'm sure can come up but boy are we doing well huh we threw out all of the funds we have just right around 1.5 million through all of our funds or if I remember a lot of those funds are restricted to you know like get some donations those are restricted to what they are donated for um just like within our cash balance accounts that we actually have um our cash controlled accounts there's just over forty thousand dollars sitting there so you know we're doing we're doing pretty good what's the probability that we would have ever had before [Music] let's see if we go back to page two that has the expenditures Within mno you see that the budget was 7.2 and we actually spent 6.8 so that means that we didn't spend roughly 350 000 worth of our MMO funding so with that being said you know and please remember that part of that raising why we didn't spend that because we do budget for the occasionally you know the opportunity of hiring a teacher if it comes up direct throughout the school week or so to answer your question of canceling band or PE it's not looking likely and would you attribute that to the override yes I would because the override provided us with an additional 580 thousand dollars so 1.5 million is that correct yes but real remember that is all funds within what the override provides we are only carrying over 350 000.

to stand before you all once again to inform you of the accomplishments and upcoming events of high desert Premiere Academy this month is National bullying Awareness Month our counselors are meeting with every class to bring awareness to bullying with various social and emotional lessons earlier this month the superintendent and assistant superintendent came to visit our campus to meet with students to discuss teacher and student relationships I thought this meeting was well organized and great and a great outlet for students to be heard students got to express their personal opinions on sticky notes and post them all around the multi-purpose room and in my opinion this was way more efficient than having just to do multiple choice surveys and I felt like my peers and my feelings were being taken into consideration so I'd like to thank you guys personally we also had our first School site council meeting and parents and students gave opinions regarding school activities on campus we are excited that hdpa might have the opportunity to engage in comprehensive school activities such as dances spirit week and grad night this month several of our students have had the opportunity to work at the district and experience what student services does in the food pantry roughly 10 to 15 of our students have had been able to work 100 hours completing community service with Miss Aurora and Miss Zyra I personally have been able to work a few hours there and it was an eye-opening experience I personally never knew that our district helped that many less fortunate families I helped prepare at least 200 boxes of food for families in need and it is especially rare to find people who are open to do something without something in return so I'd like to personally thank all of the staff that work in the food pantry this work is amazing and so so helpful for all our our communities last month students at High Desert Premiere Academy had a field trip to iFly in Ontario and now we are looking forward to the safari park trip in San Diego next month I went on the field trip to iFly and this was by far one of the most exciting field trips I have ever been on it wasn't often in games though students learned about the structure of the building how different weight classes fly and how to calculate how much air pressure an object would need to stay in air me personally I just wanted to fly it was just like it was a fun learning experience all around them and I think everyone who were involved in helping us get this trip go into motion we are also looking forward to the Esports Club participating in their first tournament next month they will be competing in the San Bernardino County Esports League free tournaments for Super Smash Bros are October 26 November 16th start off this meeting I would like to mention that we had our first school dance homecoming our school's homecoming was under the sea themed and we had lots of fun and participation at the event selling over 420 tickets uh pretty fintastic if you ask me um we started using five-star students which is a simple and effective way of reaching out to our student body in order to give them updates on upcoming events and activities going on and receiving feedback it helps us get data on what the students do and don't like so that we can continue improving we even recently put up a poll on five-star survey to see what theme our student body would like to see for our winner formal prior to the dance we had our homecoming game where we beat Hesperia 56-42 and even got recognized as offensive line of the week by San Bernardino one of our own players Cameron Smith was nominated for the San Bernardino Inland MVP of the week in the same game by the entire High Desert during the halftime show we announced our homecoming royalty court and showed her a lot and showed them off in fancy trucks led by her school's band band has also joined Apple Valley high school and playing in the parade that took place on Happy Trails on the topic of football tomorrow night is our last home football game of the season which means it is our football and cheerleaders senior night we have a total of 10 senior football players and 10 senior cheerleaders that will be recognized at the game our volleyball team has also had their senior night last Wednesday where 10 of our volleyball players played at their last home game of the season and it was overall a beautiful event the team decorated the gym and all of their friends and family came to cheer them on yesterday they beat Otto Alonso High School which earned them an automatic spot in playoffs but they had well over 500 records which means they still could have qualified regardless our girls tennis team is currently undefeated in league and one of our players Layla de Brito was recognized as player of the week in the Daily Press the boys water polo team has had three very close games and won their first game in over two years now to speed it up with help from our Runners the cross country team the boys are currently in first place for Desert Sky league and our girls come in second with our fourth fall sports teams coming to an end girls and boys soccer tryouts have begun and boys and girls basketball tryouts are coming soon softball's preseason begins once we get back from break on the 17th our medcore students recently had their annual blood drive and got many donors to participate with the first quarter ending this week counselors have been meeting with all of our students to see how they have been keeping up doing great checks and interventions to see if they have support in order to meet their needs they have also been meeting with seniors in particular for grad checks and just the push for college applications that opened over the weekend on October 1st they will continue to meet with us in order to offer help with applications and applying for financial aid there will be a specific workshop for financial aid on the 19th Avid seniors are currently on a field trip to Northern California to visit around 11 different colleges and universities over a span of five days this is an exciting opportunity to expose them to college they may want to apply into and roll them into application season we have had many opportunities this past month to create awareness for suicide prevention awareness month we have had many guest speakers come visit our campus and just last week we had some Partners someone from Partners against violence come in to talk about toxic relationships and how to avoid getting into them this month I personally want to emphasize Breast Cancer Awareness Month by encouraging students to wear pink and giving information about it we had our first African-American parent advisory meeting which is a new parent committee on campus to promote involvement and support we're looking forward to having many more upcoming events we have in store for this month are our traditional yet voluntary celebration of Halloween by having two separate costume contests one with the students during both lunches and one with the staff and faculty before school we also hope to have our Powder Puff game on the 28th but there may be date changes due to admin available availability that weekend all things considered the student body has been very hyped up showing lots of school spirit and sports teams have continued to give it their awe I want to thank you all for your time this beautiful Thursday evening and always remember maroon and gray lead the way thank you Ashley you guys got a lot going on appreciate it thanks Apple Valley Hi Madison Garcia [Applause] good evening to the members of the board and attendees my name is Madison Garcia and I am the senior class president of the Apple Valley High School Associated student body to start off I would like to discuss some of the events that have taken place since the last time we've met for events we had our bow week Powder Puff back to school dance and Hispanic Hispanic Heritage Month our bowl game our Bell week is arguably one of the most important events at abhs because of how much it raises the school spirit and brings the community together we are we have events throughout the week that are not only incredible fundraisers for groups within the school but also allows the students and Community to become actively involved these include spirit days bonfire and of course the game itself we had an amazing involvement every day and it was definitely a success we were also able to take home the bell for the 11th year in the row Powderpuff is an event at our school where the girls of the Junior and senior class compete in a game of flag football the football players got a chance to coach and it was a great way to get students connected in a unique and exciting way unfortunately our seniors took another loss but it's okay um um our ASB sophomore class held the annual back to school dance as well which compared to other years had a great turnout for over a hundred students Hispanic Hispanic Heritage Month also just include concluded that it is something that we just added to our campus this year students in ASB worked hard all month to highlight our Hispanic community on campus we did we did things throughout the month such as teacher highlights posts on social media and we informed the students on history of the culture and incorporating this into school events like all these events have brought up school spirit and Community involvement drastically we hope that this this excuse me that this momentum continues with the rest of the school year we are also in the process of planning some of the biggest events of the year including every 15 minutes counts every 15 minutes is a project that multiple groups on campus such as ASB camp and HOSA come together to create it demonstrates the impact of driving Under the Influence this project is an eighth eight month process and as of right now we are starting to contact local businesses and emergency services to support our production our senior class is also planning their homecoming dance which is on October 22nd this event allows students to feel motivated to get their grades up and demerits done in order to reach their goals it is also it also allows them to have stress-free night which is definitely needed Renaissance isn't yet another event that allows students to get the opportunity to motivate them to get their grades up and to help their attendance ASB puts on crowd inclusive production that lasts for multiple hours of one of the school days and students tend to really enjoy this event it occurs twice a year once during the first semester and one during the second semester the final the final major event that we are planning this month is October this is actually an action right now and we will continue throughout the entire month of October we are having a fundraiser where students and staff are able to purchase unique socks through an online store along with this it is a soft donation so students can donate new used or unused or sorry not used a new socks to their fifth period classes no one wants that and whoever has the most amount of Stocks by the end of the month will win a class prize such as a pizza party all the donated socks will go directly into the community continuing with the community and student involvement we have our football volleyball tennis and cross-country teams competing right now football is doing amazing this season currently winning five of six games in ranking in the top 20 schools in southern section as well as number one in League for volleyball they only have four games left in the season and just have their senior night last week our tennis team is currently placed third in League cross country has completed two League cluster meets and one left until finals on November 2nd we are so proud of all of our student athletes who continue to represent our school as the school year continues we're hopeful that this positive momentum will continue the bond between the students staff and community at abhs is evident in not only every single one of our activities but also on a daily basis on campus thank you for your time I look forward to to the amazing year ahead of us thank you [Applause] thank you Madison I want to come yes ma'am roughly so without the override we would have had that to reduce spending in other areas thank you what would you say is a comfortable carryover in comparison to the other um but we're looking at about 4.85 and in our map so what would you say is going to be a comfortable area so in all honesty I would say four percent that was the standard that had been used for years until a few years back where they said that you can carry over as much as you want um but I think a four percent between four and five percent is a good carryover amount and when you Benchmark that against other Elementary School Districts between kids or that okay um [Music] I will be 100 honest with you man I have a lot I haven't looked at what other districts are carrying over and and to be 100 honest I don't care what they're carrying over because what they're carrying over has no bearing on what we were doing here in Continental right s so that when we were looking at people moving into our district we tend to defend in what we're doing so we need it to be Layman friendly all right anything else um so any carry over money that's that's temporarily invest it or I saw I'm trying to find it here I saw it earlier okay so what happens with the carryover it gets put into the next is it the following year of the budget all right and it is whatever carryover we have reduce it so just to use round numbers okay if our budget is 7.3 million dollars next year and I am carrying over three hundred thousand dollars this year the taxpayers will only have to cover 7 million because they've already paid so does that make sense yeah just a couple of questions um Greg um I'm sure there's an explanation about some of the numbers in the AFR differ from the district financial report as of fiscal year end and I'm not exactly sure why that should be like salaries in Illinois was about 19 000 different uh purchase services around sixteen thousand dollars difference between the two documents what would you explain that so at the end of the year we have what's already conference period okay so when you've got your report ending June 30th we still had bills to pay in July in August that were that were receivable in the prior accessibility but wouldn't those have been showed as a committed fund they they should have been are they they are on there as I think Congress yeah so that is within there so that would not explain the difference because I'm taking a little expenditures plus incomes would an incumbent citizen that's the total expenses for the year in in the district financial report and I just I just don't know why the law should be done I don't know where the numbers it can speak up so we're going to have to I would have to look into what we did traffic back to you I mean it's not significant I don't mean this no no no I just it just seems to be that the two documents should be at least relatively close together um on federal expenditures what's the difference between the federal expenditures of 947 thousand dollars on line 14 to the age nine [Music] and um the federal project funds totals of 710 000 on page five line 18.

the vote was 5-0 thank you thank you Dennis okay item five adoption of the agenda the board May approve the agenda as is or add or pull items from the consent for discussion and or action do I have a motion to approve so move second okay so we have a motion Nunez second uh vendor um all in favor all right any opposed earning then that'll be the order okay we'll move on to public comments Kylie do we have any uh public uh requests to speak cards we do have two okay thank you first up Leslie McNeely and after Leslie will be Ken can be hi there good evening school board members Janae Nelson and District staff most of you already know me but for those of you who don't I'm Leslie McNally the new bargaining chair for abuta for the past several months we've been in negotiations with the district for our 2021 through 2024 um contract we reached a tentative agreement September 21st and on September 27th we held a ratification meeting turnout was very large and I'm happy to report that the tenant of agreement between the district and our unit members was overwhelmingly approved we appreciate your willingness to listen to our concerns we're hoping that to continue negotiations over the course of this three-year contract cycle with a focus on problem solving and working together it's not always easy in negotiations but I think we generate the best results when we work toward common goals so I just want to thank you for your support thank you [Applause] thank you for your comments Leslie Ken is it beam good evening everyone first off do you know anybody know what the acronym red means red means remember every deployment there's 80 percent of veterans up here in the high desert alone saying every student wearing red on Friday not only encourages the veterans but it also shows support to the veterans I have already talked to Mr Clark of yokoloma Elementary and he has agreed to incorporate red on Friday with the spirit week for Friday I'm asking that all schools proceed with having read for Friday as in a second last month I have brought to you guys the issue with the bathrooms facing the street to yokoloma I have suggested options and to see them be denied and ignored but to see the bathrooms be locked it does upset me a little bit because I have a little girl who has a little bladder running across campus to go to use the restroom pets are at risk of going and wet in her pants as I stated either allow Apple High both welding and which classes to build a barrier or I'm proposing this as well if you get the products the resources I wouldn't have no problem going and putting it up myself I will volunteer my time to at least put a privacy barrier you guys have uh walls that support the beams out there why can't you guys go and do that as well for the for those little kids that's all I have to say [Applause] okay thank you we'll respond to your comments about returning anything else as well okay um moving right along uh Kylie that was the only two speakers then okay um item two superintendent comments our first true round of student advisories working have concluded and you heard Angelique our representative from High Desert Premiere and speak about it it's a day that Mr slosser and I um meet with the students as cross-sections of student representatives from each of our schools and we do the high schools independently um so that we get the feedback directly about those those schools in particular and then we do an entire District or through eighth grade group here at the district office about 100 kids in the multi-purpose room and they allow us to hear directly from them about their needs the relationships that are built on campus and their perspective and challenges they face as students um for us the fact that we walk in the door and they just know us as the superintendent and the assistant superintendent and then they start giving us information is pretty amazing um we have a second round ready to go in January and at that time we'll use our youth truth data to compare where we're at from previous data to now the students know that that's coming and I just wanted to publicly say that I really appreciate the each of the schools giving us a location that we could meet with students privately we kept their anonymity to some extent so that they felt safe sharing the information and then here at this district office Whitney Hansen one of our teachers on assignment Lorena Mesa and Deborah sarkazian always start the elementary kids off because 100 elementary kids from 11 Elementary sites is a lot to get to like mix and so they start them off with a mixer some icebreakers and the kids immediately just respond and then it's a little bit like okay we've had fun now we're going to get to work and they always do so I'm pretty impressive that these kids come together and are able to give us major feedback we've extended we've started our Extended Learning opportunities program funded by the state and these are intended to extend the day for students in elementary TK through sixth grade they can be held before and or after school so we do have some schools that are doing some before school activities our high school students will be the student workers in these programs which gives them pay paid work opportunities within the district and some work experience we're loving that part of Extended Learning opportunity our police department has received a few more of the replacement Vehicles you'll see them around town and currently this month as you heard the Granite Hills speaker talk about breast cancer awareness our officers are wearing pink patches to show support for breast cancer awareness month I did tell them that I was with the Chaffee college group yesterday and ours look much better no competition um and then next week is fall break I'm just really hopeful that everybody's able to enjoy their time with their families and that if they um aren't going to be with family but they do something that just rejuvenates our soul this this break comes at just the perfect time in a school systems um calendar so thank you thank you tonight uh board member comments uh Mr so Wilson yeah and uh you know this past year I have mentioned that uh my baby daughter a dentist in in the end passed a surgeon discovered a injury up occur from 60 years ago when I just got stuck under the high school yeah and uh she is they did surgery and the surgery has been successful very painful you know I put anybody I've been getting no one can shoot into your your job homes but the surgery has completed and I'm living in a few days to have my bridge unit reattached brand new one yeah so but then there's a joke or rumor saying oh Wilson's not going to come back he's going to stay in the efforts and there's no such truth Apple Valley is my permanent home and I designed the house and we built it you know it's a very nice style yeah and so I just want to talk but although also another very happy new couple happy news today we at lunchtime we met at the airport Rotary Club and for about more than a year couple years the club was shut down because of the covet 19.

okay on page nine where he's at age nine length um online for work team this is from the federal funds it's just 947 528 I mean I need to be two totally different things I just I just don't know and you're looking not understand what the difference is and the other one is and then on page five uh uh line 18. which shows total federal project funds and it's only um for well total actual expenditures is actually 469 okay so it's too different you're looking at two different ranges of data on H5 you're looking at funds from 100 to the fund 3.99. okay so all of those funds that fall within Tech category on page nine you're looking at funds beginning fund001 and then going for 7.79 okay so you're looking at more funds which would show you before um and I guess finally just again comments someone with that everybody else has seen and then keep it picked up but I mean I show like a million three um in carryover or whatever in the m o uh budget the physical world um that includes of course the balance that was available before the year began how are you getting a million three sir I'm just uh [Music] that was the case we would have only spent about five million dollars I'm gonna have to uh check here a minute because I've got about a million three total and again when I said a million five it was a rough estimate about it I'm saying there's another one Million numbers on the summary page of uh summary page one if you add up the ending fund balance the ending fund balance of all the restrictive accounts it's about a million one and and I'm saying I mean you got over half a million just an extra just extracurricular activities fees and give some donations the other half a million just right there and then you've got all these other restricted fund accounts correct if those all add up to about a million one million one okay so that's in addition to the mno is that you know we are constantly criticized in the Press that we underfund education and I see numbers like eight thousand seven thousand dollars per student that we spend in Arizona I see a continental for spending about fifteen thousand dollars overall so it's a lot of money and it's nowhere close to what I'm reading in the Press if you just take our m o budget belong of 70.

but we the reason for I'm excited is our meeting was focused on fundraising to provide money to the students we buy uh books for the kindergarten students and we buy dictionary the third grade and we have done that yeah I show up Summer Schools distribute those books in the same time the the money we raise to provide scholarships to our high school graduates I just want to announce that that we we have me again in fact this Saturday we're doing a fundraising at the airport wanted to kind of come out and watch the air show we're there that's all I have thank you Wilson Maria akbara thank you so much Mr President um I'm going to start by congratulating Apple Valley High School for bringing home the Bell uh because I'm a Sun Devil by heart um and then I will go on to um express to you the excitement that I have visiting the different schools this last month I was able to visit Pancho Verde and those fourth graders put me to task um I've never had young people ask me such incredible questions about why I chose to be a board member um I wasn't expecting it I thought I was just gonna write through but they kept me um on and noticed that they are watching me so it was really good uh to be there and to really see their faces it was one a very warm welcome and one of the things I noticed when I went through the different schools so far I have been able to see 10 schools but as I go through the different schools the elementary principals have a tendency to find things on the ground they pick up um so no matter where we're going they'll always just find this thing pick the thing in the trash and then go to fix the thing and go to the trash and we're still talking um and I really appreciate that I admire you guys uh for what you do and you go around your campuses finding things and and keeping the kids in check the kids know you uh when I was an assistant principal and even when I was principal uh the kids knew their assistant principal before they knew me so this is a really good experience um Granite Hills High School they gave me the warmest welcome um the band actually perform or the music class actually performed for me and and I really realized what I had missed when I was in school I wish I had taken some piano lessons uh because those uh beginning uh piano teachers piano students were excellent they walked me through the Christmas songs and they actually let us sing along which was really incredible when I went to Sycamore Rocks the office staff was so welcoming and the principal actually took me through every single class in that one hour I was there and the kids were so engaged I've never seen a Kindergarten class even a TK where the kids did not notice that there was a guest in the room they just continued on as if I wasn't even there I was impressive um and then I of course I went to uh Granite Hills Rancho Verde yakaloma Sycamore Rocks um I can tell you I can go on and on but the one thing I walked away with was the excitement in the faces of those children and their willingness to want to come to us and learn and actually watching that little child read with such Carefree um uh feeling this is something you'll never find me do to get up and upload a kid but this one was just too overwhelming for me to just let it go you know so I hope you forgive me for getting up to applaud this little kid and and I also need to um appreciate and say thank you to those people who have donated things to the school district um when you look in our border agenda there are just a few donations that have come it was a huge donations and they are actually donating to a food pantry if you've never been to a food pantry I encourage you to go and see the great things that they are doing over there and also to appreciate the adult education program I saw their curriculum and and I'm so ecstatic about the kinds of things that they're offering to adult Learners who want to learn um I can't say enough but I need to leave space for somebody else to talk but uh I have to say thank you so much for allowing me to sit here and to represent you and their willingness to tell me when I am making a mistake so that I can correct it Sandia school was amazing in the assembly when I went through there it reminded me of the years my children went through that school I had to say thank you to all the principals and the administrators that welcome our kids every day thanks again thank you Maria Christopher Nunez thank you okay gosh there's a lot a lot been going on first let me start off of course by congratulating congratulating Apple Valley High School on their 11th Bell game Victory uh that was a lot of fun um thank you so much to Granite Hills homecoming for giving us the victory when we got out there for the game was a great game I walked out I got a brand new t-shirt for granted which I was happy to get some new swag and as I was walking back to the car to put something in in the car I hear the most beautiful music it's amazing what is going on so I walk over to the other side of of Apple Valley's campus and the vocal music department is having their their fall recital to everybody here to everybody in the community if you've never been if you've never sat on the lawn and listened to these kids perform holy smokes you guys you're missing out so be sure to get out there check out uh uh Sensations vocal motion and then of course chamber choir over at Granite Hills we've got some tremendously talented students uh good luck to hdpa and all of our schools will be supporting uh or participating in their first Esports contest um thank you to all of uh all of the faculty and staff members and and administration who sat on our negotiations team this is a really important process that is not easy on anyone but the fact is as you all we're really dedicated to making sure you stayed focused on what really mattered and which is taking care of of our students and our schools and making sure that all of our staff is well cared for so thank you all so much for keeping that in mind and accomplishing this big task um I also I want to thank a lot of our staff and faculty and and now student employees who are coming and helping to support our elop programs um one of the big drives for this year was to make sure that everybody was really engaged and if you've heard you've heard through the presentations from our schools this month and last month there's a lot of activity happening and that takes a lot of effort a lot of work but it yields gigantic benefits for our students so thank you so much for keeping that engagement piece so high on your priority list because everything else is going to follow that um lastly I can't believe it's already October right it comes with a lot a lot of momentum like we heard tonight and we're going to keep that going um I hope you all enjoy your fall break and we will see you mid-october to keep the fun going thank you thank you Chris Dennis wow [Laughter] this first nine weeks flew by our kids our four teams are doing good I coached in a lot of bail games and I'll tell you what a victory in the bell game something about 11 in a row man and they under call their coach Owen Owen you know I mean it's a and um also it's great to um drive by our schools and go to our schools and the kids aren't wearing masks that's all I have to say thank you Dennis I was going to bring up and Maria had uh touched on it the the food bank a little bit and that I believe uh Walmart donates the majority of the the food and um there's another food bank that you may see uh in town too which is over at the Apple Valley Inn on Saturday mornings and uh the line is quite long of the vehicles waiting to get in so there is a need in our community for these food banks unfortunately that's the times we live in and with inflation and different problems that Society is facing there's a lot of hungry people so it's I want to thank the staff that puts together that food bank because we can't it's it's really is amazing and thank you for touching on it Maria the second topic I want to talk about it's not very pleasant either in that it's the fentanyl crisis that's affecting our children not just in Apple Valley but throughout the country and um most of us here at the table here received an email quite detailed from trinae last week about the fentanyl crisis and the issues that our children are facing the the fentanyl is being pushed uh on our kids um as young young kids as candy and other things and Fentanyl is a is a drug that is actually legal it's prescribed by a doctor it's it's not a homemade uh drug by any means it is legal for cancer victims and things like that but what I'd like to see is an Outreach maybe through our our Police Department on the dangers of this and the kids that um are facing and um it is a crisis and I I know that we were going to have that the Narcan on the campuses which is an anti it brings people back that ingest it um sometimes you can ingest it just by touching it um it's not something that you have to actually take to be infected so I just wanted to I guess what I'm getting is thank trene for reaching out early on with this without any push from the board on this she took the bull by the horns and and is is doing something about it but it's very important that we we stay on top of that that issue still uh with that move on to discussion items and uh the first discussion item is approve the successor contract between Apple Valley Unified School District and Alpha Valley Unified Teachers Association period of agreement July 1st 2022 through June 30th 2025.

some odd million that's over 10 grand almost 11 Grand per student but we have here right now which was just Far and Away above what you read in the press as far as how we're funding public education in Arizona and um and the other piece of it is if you add in the federal funds and all the restricted funds that we have that number goes to almost up to fifteen thousand dollars and I also understand that some of those federal funds are non-recurring especially the Esther class that are in there but I just think that it's it's a perspective that we need to look at here that at least a time now we're funding our students at a much higher rate than what the overall um we're doing our best and if I can provide a little bit of clarification when the president does say that they are not taking it into account in any uh non-proceities they're not taking into account any overrides because not every District can provide a road um they're not taking into into account the tax credit locations I will be honest with you I just at the my previous District I have 2 600 kids in the hospitals I have never seen this much tax credit money yeah our our local community is willing and able and more than happy to give the Continental School so yes we may be closer to that 10 and 11 000 for student work yes due to the generosity of our community um uh we actually only received 647 thousand dollars for sales tax income from from that Alaska school year even though we were budgeted to 758 yes why would we have a hundred thousand dollar difference between budget National um the reason why is we had carryover funds from previous years if you remember I started talking about plastic fund and like you said that we had quite a bit of money that was sitting there that's allocated to go to teacher income and it hadn't been and my goal you know and unfortunately I didn't get Michael I spent too much money because I wanted to keep about ten thousand dollars within there so I spent eighty four hundred dollars more than I expected to but our teachers got the money that that they so well deserved and that is why there is that difference between how much was budgeted and how much it was actually received that's why our payout last year was almost what we 15.

the business doesn't had all the other funds okay we have uh do you have any questions sir I feel right along this is about it here do you have more comments well I just I I mean I didn't want to describe the important about benchmarking because maybe [Music] he's saying that the gifted and talented programs in the state of Arizona are about population which would put up at about to do responsibility and then 15 7901 how was the duties of the tools to visitors and education and that is as you all know in this is one of my things and everything's like that on the board and while we're moving ahead um I don't I don't see any strategy built into the budget any Financial strategy that would support the position units that we need to apply to get our different programs [Music] moving ahead statutory responsibility for written into the Arizona we neglected it for years and we're there now and I don't see any Financial strategies to exercise and um you know when you take an annual financial report like this is just um responsibility my comments on the annual funding report I don't it's in the middle of the boat this is just um okay Stalin yes Mr mcgibbon yes discussion so with Miss guys are you still there yeah okay so just so you know we have tested more students right now we have a 15 that are in that ninth day nine and those are the ones that we would actually get funding for from the state it's a new weighted category within the budget so we have been testing kids we have right now we've got I think there's a total of 30 that are within this seventh day nine seven through nine seven through ninth day nine so we have been testing these kids we are moving these things from over so the other those other 15 students we are funding them out of regular educational funds there just isn't a specific line item within the budget or within the AFR um and please remember the AFR is showing you where we were to June 30th of last year including the end conference we're going through September so we are testing those kids we are getting them identified I just wanted to hopefully put your mind at ease with that um yes and please note that you ask our administrative staff our special ed department and our screeners are doing everything they can to to find out who those children are absolutely thank you thank you ma'am no you don't have to think that you just emphasize and then you have to sign your taxes [Music] thank you that's real okay that we will go on the journey to me see y'all a couple weeks [Music] um

good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome into the aces wild pregame show presented by Aces Wild video game in parlor we're coming to you live from the perch for homecoming tonight Columbia quarterback Club put on a tailgate for all the former players as we'll be honoring the 1972 team 50 years of Columbia Eagles football here in Columbia Illinois Alex Schlemmer and Jared Germain coming to you live again tonight and Jared we're down here in the tailgate right now they got food they got t-shirts gonna have a little bit of a fun atmosphere coming in here for this week seven matchup yeah you got homecoming like you said and you got 50 years of Columbia football so uh I'm sure the kids will be ready you got blackout they're wearing the black uniforms tonight so should to be a fun one tonight this 1972 team they were able to bring I think about eight guys down here one guy came from California so they traveled back in pretty neat they were in the Wednesday prayed with us they had a float so good job by the Ecker boys putting it together and like I said you got a couple guys that are all standing around so they're coming home they got coach day the head coach from back in the day he came in so pretty cool atmosphere pretty fun atmosphere and we've seen a couple young guys we talked to a couple of them for coming home too yeah I just saw Ronnie hunsaker walk up McKendree boy uh and then you got Sam and Nick watching all the time on uh on the on the live stream so um yeah a lot of old faces uh that we that we're used to seeing around Columbia football so um I'm excited for tonight whenever we talk about the Columbia quarterback Club there's one guy that we talk about he's the head of it he's the the main guy and that's president Ron hunsacker Ron thanks for the Columbia quarterback club for putting this on oh you bet uh this is we're super excited to be here for a homecoming night and uh we're lucky to have just a ton of support in the community for our organization to be able to do little extra things like this for the ex-players and then really just make sure the kids that are in the program now just have a fantastic experience so for those of you that do watch super we really appreciate all the continued support we get so one thing that we do in the quarterback Club are two things that we do we have our chicken and beer dance that comes to you every February that's the second weekend of February the second Saturday South Side Johnny is going to be playing this year so be able to look out on our Facebook page Columbia quarterback Club you get your tickets on there we'll send out all that information and then talk this year we're moving the golf tournament this year we're going to be out at acorns yeah we're gonna be at acorns the first Saturday in June uh you know we usually put on a great event there's lots of food and again all the donations go to Columbia football and we've been able to Branch out here recently to some other uh to some other um uh activities as well so if you get a chance come out and play with us that'd be great we'd appreciate it all right so that's the first weekend in June for the golf tournament second weekend of February for the chicken and beer dance Ron thanks for joining us uh I guess one more question how much do you do for the football program whether that's a high school the Blue Jays kind of move the money around it's not all for the big fun tents we do some stuff that help with the players and the safety and all that goes on on Friday sure we've purchased the helmets the the helmet sensors we did that a few years ago the gator the trailer we've donated to the golf team we've uh rangefinders We've donated to Special Olympics uh Gene gouchers program they run that in the spring so a lot of other things besides football so that that's why we really appreciate if you get an opportunity to come out to one of our events uh we really just pump it all back into the school and the kids in the community best we can so thank you for that all right now I'll let you you go you got CJ back there he was a 1970 something grad of Columbia quarterback so I think about 79 I believe it was so he's one of the old guys coming back today so thank you guys hope go ahead yeah if I could just say one more thing it's much more than just me Alex is involved CJ's involved Ralph Stone uh those are all those are our board members so and the list goes on on there's a ton of other people that have just been involved over the years so uh again great sponsors great support great involvement just thanks everybody for that all right well we're gonna head to a break and when we come back with the aces wild pregame show we're going to talk last week's game a rough one not one that we want to talk about but we're going to recap it and then we are going to be talking about home game homecoming and the Salem Wildcats so stick with us and we will be back with the aces wild pregame show after this welcome back to the aces wild pregame show presented by Aces Wild video game and parlor one thing to remind you folks tomorrow Saturday October 8th is the rib war starts at 9 A.M big barbecue competition in the aces wild parking lot located at 208 North Main Street I got ribs pulled pork Good Eats a competition friendly competition of course and is this all in all going to be a good day I think Jared we had a day tomorrow like we had today 65 degrees nobody wants to sit at home and come out watch some college football and eat some ribs you going to be up there I might I got work so I might stop by after well there you go just come right across the street so let's talk a little bit last week like I said don't don't want to wasn't a very pretty game but Eagles Take It on the chin 22-13 uh Jared giving up 289 yards on the ground what are your thoughts on that game last week uh think what we've kind of said all year you got to get stops on first down I mean you get where you gotta manage first down you don't want those second and fourth third and two you got to get them in those uh first and Longs and second and long so I'm looking forward tonight to see if our defense is ready for that because I think they run the same type of offense I saw a couple things of film and it looked like it was the same so you know you look at that game last week their running back was over one passing their quarterback was one for one for 10 yards 10 yard touchdown so um name of the game last week was control the line of scrimmage and another one you talk about turnovers and that was really the difference in last week's game yeah I mean we had the ball inside the 20 I think three times and we turned the ball over I know we had one on the four yard line and we fumbled it into the end zone which was a real Heartbreaker and then that early pick we can kind of get away from but we just can't fumble the ball over like we did like we did last week and that's something that coach Warner always mentions in that Holton meets Coach's Corner that's on Spotify you get to listen to that whenever whenever you'd like to search inside the nest and he you know he wants to hold on to the football and he said this week it's going to be another time of possession game you look at that uh the game we had last week against the Oilers really held on to the football and I think we even made a comment I wonder how long we've had the ball so we thought Columbia was going to come out firing and we did but we sputtered out ball that went through Zach wetzel's hands that typically doesn't happen whenever he's at the wide receiver position when through his hands ends up in a pick and the Eagles after that really couldn't get anything going on the offensive side of the ball either yeah I mean uh once they once defenses know that they can stop down vaguely a little bit it can get to get to be a little easier but last week we just really couldn't get anything going in the first half on the offensive side of the ball second half defense came out we got a couple stops and got the ball in the offensive hands again um we made it a close game but um just couldn't get that W so after the game you know me Jared we're talking in the broadcast hey why are we going for two here you know if you're the coach if you get it right and you go for it and you and you convert you're a smart guy unfortunately we scored we didn't convert and Jared walked up to coach Jermaine right after he goes dad what are you doing he goes Jared I haven't stopped him all night we're gonna have to go for it so hindsight now when we're looking at it what do you think of the call now I like it because I mean we were on our heels all night they they get the ball at the 10-yard line in overtime uh we're probably not going to stop them so now I kind of understand a little bit better all right well we were just getting ready to get kicked off here is uh homecoming game's about to get underway we're gonna relocate and we're going to talk a little bit more about this homecoming game we got the Eagles and the Wildcats of Salem coming up right after this welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show we moved down to the field we're back where we belong over here and I'm joined by two grads and guys I don't have to come home for homecoming but always enjoy it Matt the manager how long you been managing here for us I've been here for a couple years but since Scott Horner has and I love doing that before the team because they're great people and I enjoy being with the team good deal how what year did you uh what year did you graduate 1991 1991 so you were right behind Coach G 1990 grad then huh so you've uh you've grown up watching him all along huh that's right who's your favorite player in since your 1990 season and since coach Horner's been here who's going to be your number one athlete that you watched I have several but I'm not fair enough I like that answer that's a good that's the answer so we'll flip over here Coach G now the uh we'll talk homecoming week now with the high school here you're the director of the the head the head judge I guess you'd say the homecoming games uh who won this year's spirit stick and homecoming games and all that throughout the week it was a great day Alex uh yesterday uh the kids were all in the in the gym packed we haven't had that several years because of covid but it was nice to see all the kids in there having a good time seniors lost the uh the tug of war but they came back and they were able to win the spirit stick so it's always nice for the seniors to win win the spirit's thick but they gotta do better with that tug of war don't tell me the freshmen beat him no it wasn't the Freshman I believe it was the sophomores oh well that's a little bit better but not much so you look at homecoming we've seen some familiar faces that you played with some guys that you coached uh what's it mean to you whenever you get to see all these guys come back I mean there's a guy out here I know from California so how neat is it to see the support that you have year in and year out yeah any year anytime you get the guys the alumni back it's awesome um you know talking to a couple players when we walked down here for pregame Tyler Dillon was down here with his little two-year-old kid and you know talk to John Heineken today on the phone he was texting me hopefully going to make it tonight and Jay gal even Alex you know seeing Alex Slimmer down here all the time is pretty cool but uh you know homecomings for all those guys hopefully we can take care of business out here in the football field and uh we can we can enjoy the night good deal we'll enjoying the night means you got a good victory so no pressure Salem's coming in tonight uh similar offense to what we saw last week against East Salton not to bring up bad news 289 yards on the ground just going to throw that out there to you so what's the key tonight and you're going to tell me just read your keys so give me something a little bit more than that we got to win first down we cannot we cannot give up big plays on first down and guys gotta they gotta honor their Gap they got they got to win battles and that's that's what we say every day at practice so do your assignment do your job and win the first down battle and put them in situations where they have to throw the ball all right well thanks for coming in and uh good luck tonight and go get another Eagles victory tonight how about that thank you Alex thank you so now we'll bring Jared back in and you look at this game coming in tonight the kokit conference Eagles still in in the midst of getting a championship thanks I've forgot to say thanks to you too Eagles are still in the Miss if they win out you know their their Destiny's in their own hands so you look at I believe it's Freeburg and Roxanna playing tonight and Bree Central versus East Alton Wood River right nope I said that backwards Freeburg is against sea salt and Wood River Roxanna and Central so Eagles got to win out and they got the the destiny in their own hands yeah and I mean this could be a get back game for next week I mean we got to travel to Bree Central which is always a hostile environment we know for both of us um but this is this is a big get back game for the offense and defense side of the ball um see if we can get another shutout tonight and Pitch up another 40 on the scoreboard and then we can go to brief Central next week you got the you got the right mindset so Colombia I mean they've been on top of that conference Championship and Conference standings for a long time so that's your first goal every year is the win conference then make the playoffs and then make a run in the playoffs so gotta check off the first box and like you said you got to get back and uh get back on that win column so you look at the Salem team that we come into tonight um you said running their strong physical team they're always going to be bigger kids so I'd like to see our guys respond I thought last week we I don't want to say it was soft but once they hit us in the mouth a couple times we kind of kind of run our heels like you said earlier all night and I think Salem's going to be a lot a lot bigger than us up front but we might be a lot quicker so that could be an advantage to us tonight we can hit those gaps quicker and get guys in the backfield so if you're going to look at your three keys I know typically I ask you this a little bit later so if you look at your three keys tonight what do you got in mind um I'd say come out and start just sling the ball around a little bit get up early um second of all get stops on first down like coach Jermaine said and then uh the third one I'd probably say just just live it up I mean you got homecoming you got old players coming back watching you play it's gonna be a fun night so I I'd enjoy it and I mean those are my three keys all right well we're getting ready to get underway got the guys out stretching here behind us I haven't even seen Salem come out so um you know a long bus ride a little bit last week as we said you know we didn't have school so did that affect us a little bit last week but we don't have school today so let's see Salem's got that long bus drive we've got no school last week we got no school this week so some big question marks to be answered right there so hopefully the the focus is a little bit more and that was one thing that coach Warner mentioned and that Holton meets Coach's Corner he said you know that's on the coaches that's we got to have the guys ready to go he goes so they didn't do their job last week let's see if they can have it a little bit more this week as we get ready for homecoming here Columbia week seven matchup Eagles are coming in 4-2 the Salem Wildcats one in five and a couple things that I have to mention real quick I should have done it at the start good luck and congratulations to our golfers that we have we have Jacob Hill he is competing going into day two of the state tournament he's golfing up in blue Bloomington we did not get a score on him but he did qualify for day two and then all of the girls on the girls golf team congratulations the team qualified and now they're moving on to day two so Ainsley Schrader led the way 85 Avery Arendale 89 Sabrina linging 94 and may Dasher 95 and that is taking place up in Decatur so good things going for the Eagles here on on all levels of sports as they're all getting into playoff time so good luck congratulations to the golfers on making it to State and I think we're going to head up to the booth now and we'll go ahead and wrap up that Aces wild pregame show so come back right after this break and we'll keep it going and we'll get you into kickoff thank you welcome in ladies and gentlemen this is wild pregame show we're getting kicked off early here from the Columbia multi-purpose field as Don vaguely kicked the ball off to the left side of the field it was picked up at about the 35 and the Wildcats returned it to the 41 Salem coming in all white uniforms with the green tops Eagles are gonna go Blue bottoms black tops and white helmets in October Breast Cancer Awareness Month getting out the pink this this month so the Eagles are going to go four men down running back to the right sniffer back to the left side gonna be a handoff nope quarterback's Gonna Keep it he's gonna go up the middle and he's going to be brought down looks to me like numbers I'm going back to last week second and third bounds on the defensive side of the ball we don't want them having second and five second and six be nice to just get him a second and ten or even the loss of yards there but um they're gonna we know they're gonna run the ball a lot so our defensive line and linebackers got a show out tonight like you said Jared we're going to be outmatched on the line and they got some big boys going up on that offensive side of the ball double to the left side two running backs they're gonna hand it off stretch it out wide to the right side they're gonna get to the 50 and there's gonna be a hold Coach G was calling for it right away hey look at that a little bit pink pink pink flag a little laundry out there that's nice little touch hey one thing I need to change that I mentioned in the aces wild pregame show I said Jacob Hill for golf he's a former quarterback it is actually Jacob Hall so Jacob let me apologize Jacob Hall is in Bloomington for the State Golf Tournament and he qualified for day two so quick little a little change there so 20 second down one other thing from that Aces wild pregame show rib or tomorrow don't forget 9 A.M is when it starts cooking time starts at 11 so if you need something to do get up to Aces and enjoy some good eats and some good competition after the holding penalty it's going to be a passing down for the Wildcats are gonna go to the second one that's gonna be intercepted intercepted Don Begley he's got the right side makes one man miss runs into his own guy and gets taken down at the 20-yard line 40 yard line 20 40.

thank you [Applause] good evening and welcome to East Longmeadow High School for tonight's pink out matchup between the long metal lancers and your Eastlawn metal Spartans I'm Brady delbeck joined alongside Teddy Kuhn once again Teddy I don't know about you man but I am really excited for this game this evening yeah it was cool seeing all the little kids out there too yeah a little uh ceremony beforehand to honor some cancer survivors shout out to the matcha family I know uh Mia Mitch's mom she survived breast cancer so certainly a trooper over there and heck of a family um but both teams very good this year uh long metal has had a heck of a season so far they're currently seven one and two East Longmeadow being five three and two so I believe their last uh matchup between each other they tied so it I'm expecting a good game tonight um I think it should be back and forth it's gonna be a real dog fight yeah so we're getting ready to kick things off here it's a beautiful 60 two degrees tonight some nice fall weather not too chilly but if you uh are not uh here in person we thank you for joining us live on the lcat live stream and we have just kicked things off and Eastlawn Meadows Kayla Lucas kicks the ball out of bounds on the far sideline and now long metal working their way good rich and the ball goes out of bounds off of her battle on the far sideline Longmeadow trying to work their way up field just around Midfield is vanco and now mornell picks it up and that ball spits back out towards the right side to Bella white of East Longmeadow now long metal making their way up the far sideline just around the 20-yard line and they cut into the inside of the 18 and a nice defensive play made by Roman I believe gotta get these numbers down Teddy the pink jerseys make it a little difficult to see Falls cleared up by Grace venko there's two venkos I would assume that they're either cousins or sisters one of them's the midfielder the other ones a back so far not too much has happened the ball stayed pretty much at Midfield haven't really seen any much action it's been pretty much between the 30 yard line so far both teams trying to create some opportunity and just been jammed up so far and Stevens tries to clear it while being chased down by Kenna Marino now long metal with a Chance ball spits inside and Abby Davis has to make a play and it should be a long metal throw in Bridget Jordan clears the ball up the line plenty of space but nobody home looking for more no perhaps her sister Addie Jordan and now across inside the 18 box and Taylor deflorio Scoops that one up no problem she'll have her first punt of the evening she finds the head of Megan Renault Morneau back to Davis lukasik with it now sending it back tomorrow no more no sends a through ball up to Talus Thomas has got Eddie Jordan with her Tollison a one-on-one battle on the sideline would do charme tile us again trying to fight Addie Jordan Megan Morneau sends it towards the far flag where it's chased down by Bella white and stolen by the long metal defense foreign Ty call should be a free kick for East Longmeadow so their first opportunity of the evening and as we mentioned earlier uh Abby Davis is now a recent commit she uh looking to further her career at Johnson University the Badgers where is that located I don't know if Ted I'm gonna send you one on that mission so you can find out some details for us across by Roman looking for lukasik and she gets a little nudge in the back and it's cleared all the way down back to Stevens looks like the Florio is going to come out and play it and she does so and she'll send it right back into traffic Longmeadow making a move pass looking for green men on the sideline and now Kaylee lukasik once again in a battle with Greenman and a little bit of a handball with Stevens and Greenman greenman's got some Running Room getting chased down by Davis Davis is able to break it up with her heel Stevens chips it out and it's gonna be a long metal throw in for kasparowsky Longmeadow definitely looks like they've got a lot of speed up top with that number 14 uh in Greenman so definitely watch out for her this evening yeah hopefully our defense can be tight gonna need that line to be strong stone wall in a pass looking for Goodrich has Taylor committed yet uh yeah Taylor is going to uh Central Connecticut I believe it's uh division one where she'll be furthering her her career and I believe uh not sure who else is committed I know Mega more know is uh committed for lacrosse she's going to Denver yeah so some some good athletes on this team Abby Davis a handball off of greenmen it's going to be a free kick for Jillian Stevens of East Longmeadow in her own defensive Zone she'll just pop it up towards Bridget Jordan where it goes off of her shoulder long metal with the ball now at Midfield Goodrich looking up top for Motts and broken up by the East long metal Defender not sure who's on that far right side I can't quite tell what the number is I'm gonna guess Roman or Mourinho but he's actually here early setting up Tia Tallis with the ball and that is Lizzy Roman to confirm the right center back enrollment has to chase down towards the corner flag where she's in a one-on-one battle across inside looking for Greenman Greenman goes down with Davis ball spits out now long metal looking to make a play in a little through ball from Ducharme ends up in the hands of Taylor deflorio no problems there you know what happened right now and now one hot bounce just past Midfield over the head of Megan Moore now and a long metal player is there to head it out kasparowski now kasparowski with the throw-in a quick one to Greenman and that ball trickles out of bounds Abby Davis will make the quick exchange up field where she finds Addie Jordan Jordan's got plenty of room sends it to didn't want to let go Emma Sosa and now another long metal Rush up top mots looking to make a play as good Rich tried to cross it into the middle a throw into mots mats and Roman and Merino is going to touch that one out of bounds 28 goals from Longmeadow this year for who Long Meadow 28 yeah so definitely a high scoring team um who's the leading scorer Ted um Greenman I think seven goals Jamie Greenman the Junior midfielder with uh Midfield slash forward Striker seven goals seven goals on the season and of course that's Mass live so we don't really know how much we can trust that you know she might have 10 or 12 or something like that but uh you know we've been there we we know what's up with Mass Live Ted apparently I had six goals last year and now Taylor deflorio with a goal kick she'll find the chest of Bridget Jordan and it spits to Stevens Stevens playing upwards towards more no and Megan Morneau with a nice touch back past kasparowski the captain and now morno again trying to get past kasparowski looking for Addie Jordan goes off of her head Jordan crossed towards the middle Tallis gets a head ball on it and Reynolds has to come out the long metal goaltender the first time we're mentioning her name this evening what a suit and she'll send that one way past half field and Roman has to go all the way back a little bit of a goalie fight there the punt ending up all the way and Taylor deflorio's hands and now she'll get a chance to return the favor she sends it off the head of lukasik now Abby Davis looking up the line some more No Mono and kasparowsky looking for Addie Jordan and it's cleared out by grace venko Islam medical possession again a chip pass from Kaylee lukasik looking for Tia Talis and now long metal with the ball on the far sideline after the pass is broken up a through ball broken up by Roman and that one shoots out of bounds how many months left are in soccer Ted I think I I believe there's I want to say it goes to late October maybe huh I don't think I don't think it goes too much into November um but then again I could because I remember that State game up in Canton for the boys I mean it was freezing out yeah so uh it might that was probably in November yeah maybe State one state games run late I mean they're sat so they've played about 10 games and I'm gonna say they probably have six to eight more so yeah they're a little bit more than halfway through the season so far both both of these teams certainly are playoff contenders yeah perhaps could meet in the fight come playoffs that would be unbelievable Islam at all being the defending western Mass champions this year as they beat love law last season in kasparowski with the throwing Greenman using her speed looking to the middle and Romans there to break things up Bridget Jordan a little bit Tangled Up sends it to her sister Addie creates a little bit of space for herself and touches it up to Tia Talis Talus getting chased down by Grace venko Talus looks to switch fields and she finds Emma Sosa but so sick excuse me uh White and now long metal quick steal and a quick move in Roman once again stepping up thank you I'm again more involved in uh soccer recently from Xbox I've been playing FIFA just like uh my the commentator from yellow game will but it's talking about FIFA the whole time and yeah how he could he could have scored that goal or what made that chance occur if he were to be with his FIFA Player it's a little different will it's addicting yeah it is honestly Ted I would FIFA is a very fun game like I don't play Xbox too much yeah BS whatever you want to call it but man when I get on FIFA it's a lot of fun it is fun and now a throw in for kasparowsky as that one should be a goal kick oh no a corner kick excuse me and now long metal with their first Prime opportunity of the evening Ted died Chad and well Brian did just arrive but uh before we let you go we're gonna let you finish this rush and a shot on that and it's blocked down by Stevens it could be another corner kick Ted we appreciate you having you thank you for having me for uh 13 minutes and 20 seconds but uh go get the student section fired up my man and now how are you doing really Chad O'Brien joining us my original guy this evening but he decided to take a little snooze I had a little obese call Buddy okay so he had some work to be done so that's a valid excuse across inside broken up by Kaylee lukasik the captain for East Longmeadow so what does it look like so far so far Chad long metal has definitely had a little bit more possession um and they've had more chances than these long metal he saw medals yet to get a clean I've all I've only mentioned the long metal goalie once so if I can count how many times I've been mentioning her so far might not be a good book yeah so a little slow so far for Islam at all on the offensive side of things but uh definitely I I think they gotta really try and use their speed I mean Megan Moore knows got a lot of speed on this left side you got to try and find Addie Jordan Tia Tallis get her the ball she's a playmaker so um yeah but overall though I think this is gonna be a dog fight I mean we're we're at 25 30 right now and I think it's gonna be a dog fight I'm just gonna go deep into the game we're gonna have a tie game and you know it's gonna be anybody's ball game still zero zero game so uh we'll see what we can get done Longmeadow Tia Talus and now Kaylee lukasik there to break things up captain on captain Abby Davis and a little bit of a head ball ping-pong match going on as they look to find dreaming Freeman and Abby Davis in a battle and Davis is gonna play it the safe route and kick that ball directly out of bounds which gives a long metal free corner kick their third of the evening I like the uh attire tonight yeah it is it is pink out night here at East Longmeadow High School and uh I do have my pink Hawaiian shirt on because I had no other pink big memorabilia or anything so I looked in my closet I was like dang I guess I have to do a little bit formal here tonight you're happy about it though I was happy about it I mean you're like this could be sad I guess so and that one's headed out by lukasik in a little chip up to Florio with a big body on Greenman and she's a little slow to get up she just bulldozed over but a great aggressive flave by deflorio sacrificing her body to make a play and prevent any scoring situation there for long metal she just came flying out of her net off as that ball was dancing through the air punched it out like the aggressive play out of her so far Bridget Jordan nalavenko and mats that ball is cleared out of bounds and now Eastlawn metal making their way up field Addie Jordan that Ball's chipped towards the sideline a little bit of a contact between I believe that was yes Bella white of East Longmeadow a little bit of contact there and there's gonna be a free kick for East Longmeadow Sosa excuse me Roman long metal making their way back up field after the free kick by Roman and they lightly touched the ball out of bounds be a quick change here and a throw in by Mourinho Tallis chasing down a couple long metal players do charme sends the ball back and now Greenman currently the leading scorer for Long Meadow and kasparowski directing traffic as she gets set for her throwing the other Captain for Longmeadow thank you ball lines up on the foot [Music] Sosa sends a through ball looking for Addie Jordan and Reynolds has to come out of her net and scoop it up a punt towards Midfield Abby Davis and Greenman Bridget Jordan Stevens that ball is being chased down and a big body by Katie lukasik and do charme goes down on the play a through ball for lukasik and a quick out by the long metal Defender but a great aggressive play by Kenny lucasic that's what we need out of her tonight she's got to lead this team yeah absolutely great step up there by her and uh she was really just able to take the body there and not continue and um almost make the play to her uh Striker and um creating opportunities like that freestyle Meadows what we need so a great way to step up great job from lucasic love the aggressive play early and she throws in to Davis and Greenman gains possession and just kicks it to no man's land words I'm not really sure actually what happened there maybe must have gone out of bounds Addie Jordan and another clear for long metal great to Stevens and a chip past Vermont as Mourinho has to chase it down and plays it all the way back to deflorio De Florio One Touch pops it up into the air and chased down by talish as she'll settle it down to her right foot and send it up the line looking for white and now Addie Jordan a two on two battle in the far right corner long metal nice teamwork to get that ball out Van Gogh Bridget Jordan that through ball ends up right on Jillian Stevens foot and now Tia tell us a quick outside touch move looking for lukasik lukasik has to chase down that ball goes off of matz's leg and Mourinho we'll let that one go out of bounds and a free kick for Taylor defloria some subs coming back into the game number six Megan Moore know will be replacing looks like Kenna Marino on the far right side and then number 21 and number 13.

that's just the start you want right there on that second down you have a holding call pushing back second and long you know they're a run first team so they don't have a lot of plays on second and 15 there they decided to roll out to the left side and number 12 is an interception of their own 40 yard line so this Eagles offense fluttered a little bit last week wasn't able to get too much done so we'll see what they get figured out good starting position here at the 40-yard line 10 45 on that Manny McGuire group scoreboard igli's gonna have doubles to the left sniffer back left running back right he's gonna fake it gonna be a pass out here to wike Great block out there by Wetzel he's at the 2015-10 five end zone touchdown Eagles swinging around that's what you wanted Jared and that's what the Eagles do yeah number 23 Brennan White thank you I look right at coach Warner whenever he was at about the 20 he put his arms up in there he knew he was touchdown right there [Music] that might be one of the first touchdowns we've had on an opening drive too I would think our first drives this year haven't been the prettiest we've usually either punted it or I've turned the ball over so get out to a good start here on for the pat vaguely going to do the kicking once again good snap good hold kick is up and it sneaks inside that right up right and it's good with that takes that man in those wire drip scoreboard Columbia seven little Heroes Salem 0 10 35 remaining in the first quarter we're gonna stick with it here and another thing which I think is one of the coolest things that we've got to uh to announce this year Madison groom is part of the ROTC here at Columbia and every year the ROTC they give out a scholarship to 200 people and she learned how to fly when kids are going out getting their driver's license she now has her license to fly an airplane so she's one of 200 recipients of this award 85 000 people apply for it so that's that's a pretty awesome feat and pretty neat to get to announce it and pretty neat that we get to have that here in Columbia recognize her before the game tonight we probably would have got there in time we still had five six minutes up on the clock but our pregame show took us all the way down to kickoff so glad we didn't miss that start though so the Eagles Jared wanted it to be a fast starting game and that's what he got Eagles go what is it 40 yards I guess it was four touchdown vaguely a better kick this time it was a low Line Drive last time gets this one down to the three and it's fumbled good job getting down the field by Ben Scott with a great tackle after 13-yard line in these boys are a complete night and day difference from last week when we saw him playing well you can even tell on the sideline guys are pumped up tonight last week if any any big play that happened it was just all right let's just get to the next play and um but tonight a little uh sense of enthusiasm and even the coaches you see coach Kendall and Coach Horner getting pumped up down there I guess that chicken parm and chicken madaga from Joe bacardi's before the game I have something to do with that oh they said they were all full too they could barely even walk down to the field after everyone in the box now for the Eagles gonna be a run right up the middle big Bruiser of a running back me and Jared were talking earlier he's gonna get six Jared what do you got on that running back he's five nine 240.
