He had four points in the first quarter. Well, Sloppy is out with two fouls. Into the game comes Perry Guidry and in this quarter Boslawski has eight. So, a little difference. He's a tough guy to guard. Rivas drives, kicks it back up top. Kazusky had it, hands it off to Smith. Smith will take it. Shot. Yes. It's just about every part of the rim and it gets it to drop and the Lancers take a two-point advantage. Boy, back and forth we go in this game. Good look by Daylen Smith as he got inside. Long ball again. That's Horton. Is anybody going to miss here in the second quarter? If anything's going to slow down the pace of this game, it might be the striped shirts as they are going back and forth. Take another look at the high-arching three-ball of Cameron Horton coming right at you.
Nice job, Timmy Sartory. Uh, great look right there. Cameron Horton, the junior, coming off of the bench hits back-to-back threes in this game and then coming down the other end it was Horton that was called for the foul. This is Daylen Smith at the line for the second time tonight. Bonus time for the Lancers. Smith missed the free throw. Ball goes out of bounds. Good hustle by number one, Jake Blunt, who is checked in for the Pine Creek Eagles. 30 seconds to go in the second quarter. Back-to-back action. Ball goes inside. Down in the corner. Blunt has the shot blocked. Here comes Boslawski. He'll slow it down as the Lancers may want to play for the last shot of the second quarter. Boslawski working against Perry Guidry. Five to shoot. Here he goes. We saw it at the end of the first. LOSES THE CONTROL.
LONG BALL LENGTH OF THE COURT OFF THE GLASS and no good by Cameron Horton. I'm shocked that that one didn't go in because everything else the Eagles threw up from beyond the arc basically went in in that second quarter. Oh, it sure did. What a great quarter that was as the Eagles have a one-point lead at the half. We're going to catch our breath, grab a snack or two, come on back. We'll have some highlights and talk more about this one right after this on 20 TV. We have a close one here at Pine Creek High School. We've reached half half time and the Eagles lead by a point over the Liberty Lancers. And after a slow first quarter where there were not a lot of points scored. I think it was 8 to 7 after one quarter. Man, did these teams explode in the second quarter and it was a three-point clinic put on by both of these teams.
Early for Pine Creek, that's Peyton Westfall. He's got a high-arching shot, but it drew nothing but net damn near every time he threw the ball up. Oh, it really did. He went four for five from three-point land, 12 points in the first half for Peyton Westfall. There's another one deep in the corner. And then on the other side, you can't say enough about the playmaker Sean Voslovsky. As he when he got going, he really sparked his team. And he too has a great looking shot. That one as you called during the game was about 4 ft outside the arc, an NBA three-pointer. And look at that one. How far out can you go? That kid has no range. He can hit from anywhere. He sure can. Here's a shot of him coming right down the lane with a left-handed layup. He can do it all.
He's got two threes. He's got three twos in the first half. He had 12 as well. Both of those players with more than half of their team's points in the first half. I can't wait for the third quarter to start. We're about 6 minutes away from tip-off. Don't go anywhere. We'll be back with the second half right after this on 20 TV. Mhm. We are just about set for the third quarter here at Pine Creek High School. The Eagles are back out on the floor. The Lancers are on the bench and they're coming out of the locker room as we speak. I would would like to have been the fly on the locker room of both of these coaches to see what the strategy is going to be here in the third quarter. Well, you like the way both teams shot it, but I'm sure they they both need to take care of the ball a little bit better.
Liberty with seven turnovers in this game, Pine Creek with six, and they had some at key times on on possessions in that game, but boy, the way each team shot the basketball, each coach had to be happy with that. And we don't often say this, but the officiating crew's done a pretty good job here in the first two quarters keeping the play under control, kind of keeping the whistle to a minimum. We'll see if that holds up here as we are underway in quarter number three. Sean Boslawski with the basketball sends it over to the right side. Down around the blocks is Norwood. Lancers being a little more patient here early. Smith from the elbow, yes. Good patience by the Lancers to strike first in the third quarter. Really nice two-man game over there with Caleb Norwood down on the block, Daylen Smith. They went inside, outside, back in, and then Smith got a good look from the elbow and he knocks down the shot.
Lancers are applying some pressure defensively. Wilkinson will take the shot, doesn't get it to go, and boxing out nicely is number three, Levi Valentine. Revis will give it back up top. Boslawski The pace is a lot slower, Dave, than the first two quarters. They really have slowed it down working the inside game. And there's Norwood for an easy layup. And boy, that was a thing of beauty offensively that time for the Lancers. Great pass by Levi Valentine who was in the lane, needed to get rid of it quickly, drops it off for Norwood. Caleb Norwood gets his first basket of the game. The Eagles like to play an up-tempo game. And so, perhaps the strategy of the Lancers will be to slow it down and work it around and really make Pine-Richland work for a quality shot here offensively. That is how you do it.
Max Lofie responds with a three. And that brings the Pine-Richland crowd to their feet as they have tied this basketball game at 26. Yeah, good look from Lofie out of the corner. He missed most of that second quarter with those two fouls. Revis misses, gets it back, tries again. No, and the rebound comes down into the hands of Colton Yeager. Pine-Richland bench yelling, "Let's pick up the pace." Fam, down in the corner. Lofie made it from the other side from that spot. Gives it back up. Bounce inside. Yeager. Oh, off the foot of Lofie. Ball's on the floor, and we've got a foul called against the Eagles as Max Lofie pounds his chest saying, "My bad." Well, and that's something Pine-Richland does not want to see. Max Lofie just picked up his third of the game right there. Daylon Smith was going after that loose ball, and Grant Wilkinson was there as well.
Lofie came up from behind, picked up his third. Liberty will take control. Back across the half-court stripe. Augustine Revis will hand it off to Boslawski. Again, very patient movement by the Lancers. Smith one dribble and gives it off. Boslawski at the free throw line jumps, gives it back to Smith. Smith will take the shot, fouled, and it will not count, but he will go to the free throw line to shoot a pair. Again, it was Boslovski got in the lane. The defense of Max Loeffler comes up on Boslovski. He had to get rid of that pass. Daylen Smith picked it up and there's Daylen Smith taking that shot. Just missed it. Bos fouled on the play. And Pine Creek has taken a 30-second timeout as coach Joe Roush wants to talk to his team about what Liberty is doing here before Daylen In those first two quarters, they were really flashing through the lane trying to find those big guys underneath.
This third quarter, Ivan Chambers has his guys just really methodical and really slowly working that perimeter. And before the game, Ivan Chambers, one of his keys he gave us was control the tempo. We didn't know he would change the tempo like he has been. Like you said, Vince, first half was up and down. This is much more of a half court game and they're getting it done inside. Daylen Smith already with two in this half and he is at the free throw line. Smith at 6'4, a very smooth player. Lacks doesn't lack in any confidence. He is not afraid to take it inside and he's got a nice looking shot from outside as well. Came into this game averaging almost 14 points per contest. He has 10 already in this one. Free throw is good and that will give the Lancers a one-point advantage. He's two for three from the line tonight.
Crowd trying to make some noise here. And it works, but I think we're going to have a lane violation as one of the Eagles players was in the paint. I guess they'll call that against the Lancers in the paint too quick. think it was on the shooter, Smith. As soon as he let that ball go, he stepped in a little too quick. He missed it anyway. Here comes the full court pressure. So, Ivan Chambers has really switched things up in this third quarter. Defensively, they've come with a full court press, which the Eagles break nicely. Fam will bring it back up top. There's a quick looking shot and it drops. Peyton Westfall picking up where he left off in that second quarter and a big basket for Pine Creek. Huge basket for Pine Creek. Puts the Eagles up by two. Westfall's fifth three of this game.
Lancers working that spread offense. Now they try to get it down inside. Knocked out of bounds. That was Smith looking for Boslawski who was cutting hard to the basket. That's a tough entry pass from Boslawski, one of the smaller players on the floor running down the baseline before it got tipped out and then out of play. Liberty under five to go in the third quarter with the basketball. Valentine has it down in the corner and again the Lancers are in absolutely no hurry. They are going to wait until they find their shot. This is Norwood in the paint needs to get out to avoid the three second call and he does. He'll come up and set a pick now. Wow, from NBA three point line Boslawski misses that one and it will go off of Fam and stay with the Lancers. A little pick and pop play right there as number 11 Caleb Norwood came out, set the screen and then he rolled underneath and it was because of Norwood down low that that ball went off of Pine Creek.
What a nice inbounds play. A quick foul called against Pine Creek as Daylan Smith got great position inside on the inbounds play. They're going to call that one on number three Grant Wilkinson. That is his third as well. So each of those of those guards for Pine Creek have three fouls, Loafy and Wilkinson. That could be a problem later on in this game. Norwood needs to pick it up and starts his dribble. And Smith cuts back to the left. Nearly lost it. Boslawski has it. He has to pick up the dribble. Smith wide open down the lane. That was a good job of defending. It really was by Colton Yeager. Smith recognized it, stopped, and just shot over the top of the big fella. Great job of body control by Daylen Smith. It looked like he wanted to go all the way to the bucket.
He had Yeager in front of him, pulled up, and does a great job. A nice hustle by both players on the floor. Daylen Smith on the floor for the loose ball, knocks it out of bounds, and it'll stay with Pine Creek. They will inbound in front of their own bench with this game tied at 29. Really quick movement by the Eagles. Lofy passes inside. Yeager has it. Back to Lofy. He'll drive, jump stop, kicks it outside. No. And the ball knocked out of bounds off the hands of a Lancer player. I thought Peyton Westfall may have knocked that one out. He was flying down the lane. Substitution. Cameron Horton comes back in. Going out for Pine Creek, Colton Yeager. That was Grant Wilkinson. He just can't find his shot tonight. Comes into this game averaging almost 18 per game. He has just two so far.
Westfall again. Nope, not this time. Ball poked around. Lofy will come down with it. Quickly over to Wilkinson. And he's got it. You talked about the last game. They hear those announcers talking? He responded. Sometimes they do. He needed to find his shot. He got a good open look. Wilkinson's first three of the night. And that puts the Eagles back up by three. Revis down low. Kicks it back out. Smith thought about the three. Working against Wilkinson. Revis will take the three, and he's got it. It's a three-point clinic. We talked about it at halftime, and this is a heavyweight fight. Back-to-back three-point blows. Lofy sets up the offense. Down in the corner, Fam goes baseline over the big fella, and he floats that one in. How about that ball movement by Pine Crest? They made about five passes quickly. And there is Sean Boslawski for three.
And a timeout on the floor taken by the Liberty Lancers as they have taken a one point advantage. This will be a full timeout. So we will step aside momentarily. He has come to play. Down in the corner, Reaves for three and the Eagles find themselves down one to their cross town rival, the Lancers, which is really only about 3.2 miles away. Back to action, Loeffy. Westfall, Loeffy. Lancers back now in a zone defense. Looks like they want the Eagles to try and shoot outside. They're trying to take away the inside game of Pine Creek. Let's go! Westfall has to pick up his dribble. Will hand it off to Lofy.
Just over two to go. Nice move between the legs. Shot doesn't go. Rebound to Rivas. And here come the Lancers. They'll set up the offense. Have had a lot of success with this in the third quarter. Smith picks up the dribble. Inside ball knocked away. And I believe we will have a foul called as Levi Valentine was taking that one to the basket. See who they get on this one. That is going to be on They call that on 11, Kenny Fam. This first. Yep. Checking in will be Blake Hatchell at the next whistle for Pine Creek. As Levi Valentine steps to the free throw line, knocks down the first free throw. Valentine Good rebounder for the Lancers. Just about five per game. Scores five points per game. That one's a little short. And here comes Lofy bringing it the other way. Max will pull it back out. Give the ball over to Horton who loses it and quickly the other way come the Lancers. Kazusky has checked into the game. Nice pass underneath. Valentine head fake and scores. Horton didn't have a chance on that one. Great presence of mind by Levi Valentine with the head fake. beautiful pass by Augustine Rivas to find him down low. Fam baseline has two Lancers on him and they will set it back up. Hatchell Fam wants the three. No, strong. And there is Boslawski coming up with the rebound. Ivan Chambers telling him to bring it out, slow it down, and he thought, "Woah, boy, did I want that." He nearly turned it over. Head fake. Back outside. Reaves for three, no. And no foul underneath. And then there will be a call against Valentine, I believe.
Great job boxing out by Cameron Horton down low. That really was a nice job of getting position and they're going to get to Bryce Kazouski instead of Valentine. Both guys were down there. I thought it might have been on Valentine. That would have been his third. That's a good break for Liberty as Kazouski, who had just come off the bench, picks up his first of the game. And coming back into the game, senior Tyler Lynch for Liberty. Substitution for Pine Creek. Jake Blunt comes in. He'll replace Grant Wilkinson. And also for the Lancers, number one, Elijah Armstead has checked in. A 5-8 senior. So, some fresh bodies. Bos- Boslawski has taken a seat for a brief rest. We don't see that a lot here in the final minute of the third quarter. Quick ball movement by Pine Creek. Nice pass inside to Horton. He's cut off nicely.
Eagles still working that perimeter really quick. Lofy wants it, can't get it. There's Pham for the rebound. He'll bring it back out with 18 seconds to go. Pham, YES! FROM THE CORNER IN FRONT OF HIS own bench. And the Eagles have cut the lead to one. We've got a foul called as this is going to be the fourth on Max Lofy right here. And well, we'll take a look the last shot here. This is Kenny Pham dribbles back to where he finds a little space. Pham's got six points in this game. Substitution for Pine Creek.
