um it would not be an obligation it would not be mandatory uh and if we were going to continue to expect ASB funds then yes that would have to be their decision to make uh next year with within our report noted that there was a request for information that that was not able to be filled prior to this to this meeting do we have a general sense I I I want to acknowledge that this correct me if I'm wrong this is unprecedented to have fireworks at a graduation event and and so an exception is be was was presented and was made for for Gladstone High School um and that they were would in essence be expending the entirety of their funds because they're there is there is no need to be mindful of those funds for subsequent years um and so yeah it does um want to be careful in that if they're if if they're looking to make this decision but but there's an aspect of it where where it seems like um there's there's a a an attempt at parity that that just isn't quite as as relevant in this situation as one school continues and one school does not um Natasha I am not sure if you were able to collect any information around uh the ASB uh funds but as she prepares for that um in terms of is this unprecedented I believe it is unprecedented for Azusa is it unprecedented presented for graduations uh maybe not I don't think it's common but there are districts that routinely use fireworks at their graduations yes so we're currently Gathering um and reconciling the ASB accounts by grade level um to see exactly what each balance um has and then I'll be reporting that out in the board update Mr Ma I have a question um related to ASB rules and thick Matt accounting so is it the case that um when there's a graduating class and there there are funds left over in that senior class account for example that the class that class can distribute their funds um can decide how to distribute their funds either going back to ASB general or or a designated club and in the event of the sunset well we know that Gladstone High School will sunset those funds if not expended would go back to either as he's a High School general or to uh designated class or Club fund for ASB yes according to the pick back manual um they have two options one is designated and typically one is designated is going to the incoming freshman class so their balance does not start at a zero our two is designated to go if there has not been a destination it goes directly into the ASB General whereas divided among the entire student body not just the grade I think my position on this um so so for Gladstone High School who was it that um who is the appropriate person that um Aston was designated to to bring the fireworks to the graduation was it administrator the student body um again just like in the Azusa High School example uh the student body at ASB at Glaston High School I decided that it would be a good use of their funds and to honor uh the last graduating class of glasswood high school to have fireworks at the show now once that decision I'm sorry at the graduation once that decision is made then yes administrators pick up from there to do the contracts and you know permits and all that other all that other stuff but the decision was by the students and paid for by the students yeah I would have to agree with board member Greer um we are making an exception for Gladstone High School it is their last year um and I really feel that we should honor at least give them that and we should honor Gladstone High School as it's being closed this year and I I feel that um since you know they found out kind of like what you had said kind of like going on the bandwagon um it's it's it's a great idea overall but at the same time looking at from a view of the students at Gladstone High School how their High School's in a close forever I I cannot stand behind this this agenda item thank you any further comments from my colleagues so I'd also like to share my thoughts um I recognize the uh emotion around closing any school especially closing a high school that's been a long-standing part of community for over 60 years as a parent of a student who's owned school closed last year I can understand that personally as well and as an educator I believe that I believe in student choice and student advocacy and I believe that our students are capable and experienced enough and I think that we've done a great job and Isuzu unified to teach our students about financial literacy and decision making and that they have a voice and that by bringing this proposal and advocating for it I am a proponent of that and I say this because the class of 24 25 26 32 I want to give those students the same autonomy right without prescribing or conscribing their choices if they would like to raise funds to do anything else or to do fireworks or whatever it is um as long as it's legal and compliant and safe I want to support that and so this is notwithstanding um elevating or or minimizing any of the emotion and celebration of the end of a school year and the end of the era of Gladstone High School but it is for me about honoring student choice and advocacy and letting students know that their voice matters and we've said that many times here on the diocese that student voice matters and so I am uh inclined to support this item is Benavides yes um president Beau and and um board members I I'd like to just share that you know I sit here and I hear Equity all the time and I would hate to to sit here and say no we're not going to give the other students an opportunity because then we're not standing by the word equity I mean yes I understand there's a lot of emotion that goes behind the fact that the school is closing but I think I had the same concern and I shared it with um superintendent Ortega what my concerns were safety and yes it's going to set a precedence but were other schools doing it and he shared the same thing he just shared with the board so I I'm going to be a proponent for this because I believe that if we're going to be equal we should be equal across the board to all the students regardless of the closure of the schools that's just my preference see the item has 12.4 has been moved seconded we've had our discussion any further discussion and I just want to be my I'm very respectful of our time and this decision so I'm looking up and down the dice if there's any further discussion yeah just can I just ask is is there a is is there any does this come with any staff perspective that uh additional staff perspective or is is Staff kind of uh taking more of a neutral stance on this particular item third time I do that um yeah well we brought it we brought it forth um we definitely understand that there's two sides uh to this um conversation um not from a staff perspective but just from listening um I think one of the things that hasn't been said today that fell into my ears is that allowing Azusa High School to have a fireworks show does not diminish the specialness or the the specialty of the last Gladstone graduation uh so just throwing that out there just because I haven't heard that tonight everything else we have heard um and it's we completely understand um both sides of this of this uh this argument 100 and so yeah we're neutral in the sense of um whichever way the board wants to uh move thank you the item has been thoroughly discussed and I will call for the vote oh I'm sorry We're Gonna Roll that one back Miss Pineda on this um important item what is your vote yes and I'm sorry I didn't include you in the discussion do you have any comments that you'd like to share with us um I was just gonna say that before when we had the five minute break after the teacher ceremony um one of the students from Azusa came up to me and she was like talking about this she was because I asked her why she was here and she told us she told me that because one of the teachers that she has are going to speak about this and that she basically found it unfair that Gladstone was gonna have fireworks and azuzah didn't and at the time I was like oh my God like that's so unfair and then I realized like oh it's like Gladstone's last graduation and so to me now it just like makes sense whether Azusa has theirs or not and they are um it's the students paying for it and I did think about it before that um Sierra would probably see Azusa and Gladstone have this type of ceremony and um they would be kind of like jealous because we don't have like that money and with um our ASB but um I'm not sure about the whole Azusa thing with their fireworks I don't think that it makes Gladstone's graduation any less special but I would understand if Gladstone was the only School allowed to have the only School approved for the fireworks because it is their last graduation and it does make sense that it is very special thank you so much Daphne and so your vote is on this item what is your vote yes okay thank you I'm sorry for that and the item passes three to two moving to item 13.1 Mr Ortega thank you Dr Beau um just want to give a quick update on our subplus property and the process that we're going through there the 711 committee met for a second time um in their Journey uh this was an opportunity for our new chairperson Vanessa Jones uh to moderate and facilitate the meeting she did an exceptional job of doing that at this second meeting uh the 7-Eleven committee uh received a lot of information about the six properties that mirrored um what the board received during their study session uh at this meeting we said that we were responding to their request for data about the district and what they they feel that they if there's any interest in the properties uh we did share that in some initial thoughts about Sierra High School and possibly a community community school a community and Conference Center but we did say that the next time we meet uh in May that we would bring some board perspective uh to that as well so at our May meeting which is prior to the third 7-Eleven committee meeting I am inviting the board to have a discussion this is initial we're not deciding anything we're not you know going to be held liable for anything but this will be an opportunity for the board members to begin to share their ideas or their dreams or their visions of what we might uh be using these six properties for again this will happen we'll have that opportunity in that space at our next board meeting in May thank you Mr Ortega are there any questions moving to item 13.2 Mr runkio yes uh this is the resolution to declare May 8th through May 12th as the certificated employee week the following um the resolution of approval we will be setting the resolution to school sides and um and sites will be celebrating this event or this week to uplift and recognize our teachers and certificated staff members thank you so much you may have a motion promotion to approve 13.

um it says recently contacted me with the concern regarding a request from the school Committee Member obviously me especially Super Nintendo indicated that the member has requested copies of all available employee interview statement yes I did father indicated that he was concerned due to the to the confidential nature of the records being so and asked my opinion as to the legality of the request Mr Lavoy was no aware of the specific reason for the request and since you were not aware I'm just gonna let you know that I have a few um exiting interview being both brought to my attention and I wanted to see a specific information before I even bring it up to the committee but I'm giving you that reason since you didn't know that and it was also not aware of any personal matter currently before the committee at this time after speaking with Mr Lavoy I first contacted Yani aljala which is it actually spelled wrong I know it's Janus um the human resource director to review what if any documents were available and inquire as to these circumstances um as to how the exit information is requested from a backhating employee me Smash what is written here but again I'm gonna do my homework and I'm going to bring up the the information for the next time because I I found something different but maybe I'm reading it wrong as well as the state privacy status MLG and those numbers so I don't make this father um bigger father in accordance with the greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School District police and manual the superintendent director is the official custodian for personal files and has overall responsibility for maintaining and perceiving the confidentiality of files within the provision of the lot see section [Music] specifically state that personal records are considered confidential under the law again I'm going to State the confidential is personal information which means name address all those things are the confidence in part of it and here it says highlighted but yeah I understand that um more importantly It is Well settled on the Massachusetts lot this cool community members do not have access to computation record related to students or employees except for specific circumstances where a legitimate need to know reasons apply I have a need to know reason just because I already have a few um um things that I want to broke forward but I wanted to confirm whether I was able to bring it forward or not [Applause] um okay in light of the above the above the committee may only request personal records if the committee as a whole has a legitimate need to know basic for doing so according to the family educational rights and Privacy Act of 1974 a school official has a legitimate educational interest if the official need to review an education record in order to fulfill his or her personal response professional responsibility as noted about it is unclear why the record are being requested but given the nature of the request all exit interview statements establishing a legit need to know basic will appear I don't even know what this means divorce and I didn't look for it I will the views which means um okay serious thank you on the stay low the superintendent is charged we overseeing the day-to-day operations of this school district and including overseeing personal matters accordingly the committee's involvement in personal matters is generally limited to those instances where instances when a specific matter are before the committee the most common sample will be a specific personal model brought before the committee for heating in which the members will have a specific need to know Basics to review the personal file even in that instance however a review will be limited to the specific documents necessary to fulfill his or her professional responsibilities second I understand that the request was from a single School Committee Member this is the best part um it was from a single School Committee Member and not from the committee as a whole following a majority of the boat just I'll clarify later it is Mo it is important to understand that the authority of the school committee comes from the body not from any particular individual a school committee members had no special rights or privileged other than other than those two parents and to parents and citizens I'm gonna stop there for now because just wanted to make a clarification here we I asked a idea request we all do requests all the time never ever in three years that I've been here we vote to get a request to be brought to this table this is a public hearing we all hear we all make this Quest so this statement is absolutely wrong I didn't ask for emotion to be second and to be voted against I asked for request just like we all do so I needed to clear that up um see involving issues in school governance major issue identify by the National School Board Association and the Massachusetts part of the district government and support project 2017 seven Edition okay because all power of the school committee are the derivated okay I don't know how to say that uh from State lot are granted in terms of actions as a group member of the school committee have authority only when acting as a committee legally in section which I'm in section and I ask for the um requesting session so um see the greater law in school police Emmanuel the school committee will function as a body yeah I know that in all policy decisions and all the matters as required by the lot will be settled by an official bolt that's not part of making a request in light of the above it appears clear that a single School Committee Member acting independently and without Authority from the committee which is false because I did it here in Open Session public session as everybody else does requests so please make a note of that um because this letter says that I I had no right opportunity to do a request so that means that none of us here as a committee has right to do requests that's what this says unless it's just to me and I'm the only one that cannot make requests any requests from the committee must be supported by the majority of the vote while in section at a pro property called midi we were in a meeting so again representing we are all representing our citizens from each town and yes we can make requests as long as we're in public public session which that's what we are right here right now all of us are together and there was no objections when I make this request based on the about I have directed the superintendent to refrain from producing the records at this time due to one the confidential nature of the records that have been requested to the Assurance from the school that the records will be maintained as confidential three and the lack of formal action by the committee following a majority of the book if the committee determines collectively by majority of the vote that it is a legitimate need to know basis for a specific person of record I will be happy to revisit the issue at a time so again I'm going to make the request I'm not asking for confidential information I still want to see it's an interviews um and unfortunately I don't have to I have a couple of them a few of them I left it at my house and I don't have them here so I will bring one again I'm not reading names anybody's name address or if personal information it's just the body of the review I remember many many many many many many meetings ago we I ask actually if we were doing excellent interview and you told me not we were not but obviously we we do we do have extreme interview because you have also presented through your presentations and your evaluation and all that things that we do have do have excellent interviews so I'm gonna make the request again and I'm expecting to see a examine interview okay all right I'm gonna have to put that in the form of emotion we'll wait for Mrs Fitzgerald to get back okay here she comes uh the problem with I'm not making motions this is not important it's not gonna happen if you make a motion and it gets cleared by this committee excuse me that means that none of us are going to do requests anymore right that was like it was the information that you would use I explain to you what the problem is I I probably only done three or four exit interviews in my life but I know from an exit interview okay if you can read between the lines on certain exit interviews you could be able to tell even which department that he or she came from okay but even I would have happened today but then you take out the holes the whole thing Frank there's a body of inter of a interview that can be shared yeah if you want to make a motion and if it passes the committee with the you know with four votes you can get the very convenience just say it's that's you got an attorney's letter right in front of you that we pay it's a little amount of money for his legal advice and that was that was his vice Frank yeah and I'm going back to the minutes um and I remember when soiler made the comment and I know Tom has asked for this previously and he hadn't also made a comment on that day and I don't see it in the notes I don't see it on the table matters either or future boat matters I I ain't right I gave her the courtesy to to come up at this time rather than to wait another time you know I didn't realize it was going to be a 20 minute uh you know no no no I just gave her the currency to to the to him we put it off to another meeting we have to vote on something else but I'm looking back on the minutes of our last minute right being winner when it was brought up and it's not here and uh I mean are these I don't see it no it's not there because they they didn't put it from the last and they didn't put it again from this time they just kept taking it off you're looking for because the last minute I had to ask for it again and I asked for this for the first aid that was brought in and I asked for that and it wasn't even mentioned that's why I just had to bring in this this email that I received but hopefully you'll receive it too yeah everybody saw me I missed something what happened what was the last thing you said I said I didn't see this was sent to everybody was just sent to me last Thursday yeah I just saw the email too yesterday um and then I didn't see your name I wasn't part of it I guess no okay there we go review yeah um well I'm actually glad that this is being brought up because it leaves me confused as a member considering that that we have made several requests in previous meetings on like many many issues um whether it's data from student surveys whether it's data from retention so at this point this letter leaves me confused as to what like what would what would require a vote to request certain information you'll be perfectly honest with you whatever comes out of either one of us mouths you should get voted on she's absolutely the attorney is absolutely correct do we do it all the time no Okay the reason this one here brought up the red flag is it was personal information on the person okay whether you put their name phone number date of birth wherever okay I'm presuming I haven't read I I don't know of any I haven't read any you depending on the interview depending on the verbiage you could probably tell which department he or she came from and if you did enough investigation you could probably tell who it was who actually wrote that that interview and that that's what the attorney is saying we do not have a right unless we get four members that say yes I want to know it do you see how that's your right now it does and from now on not one as long as I'm chair here as long as you want to know what time of day is I'm going to ask you to make a motion I know that's being sarcastic but where that's the thoughts we're going to do if we if that's what Zoila wants I did it as a courtesy to try to move things along and when a Committee Member wants to know how many parking spaces in the back parking lot okay from now on we'll get a motion on it and we'll get four members or a unanimous member but I would hope that I would never take an ask how many uh members you know exit interviews I would want to see because I even I never said anything when she did it because I knew she wouldn't Zola wouldn't believe me that it was I it wasn't right it's not right to have it's not right for this information to have it so just to complete it then okay and if she makes a motion no no I I understand I understand okay it's a mistake that I've made for the last 38 years well 35 years of each year and I won't make it again like I said anybody wants to know anything now we're going to have to have it moved on okay no matter how little if you want to know what the menu is at the cafeteria I'm gonna make a motion on it and we're going to get it you know approved if everybody if we get four votes or a unanimous vote you'll get the information if not you're not going to get the information okay and and I don't believe that I know she made the request again I don't believe the request is going to be followed up on unless she makes a motion gets a second and we'll probably do a roll call and uh then she yeah this thing's not working um she's not she has not been the only ones yep I got it yeah um I know that she hasn't been the young person that has made that request [Music] before we go further um I hadn't made a request of John and you which I will once we finish this I will make that in a form of motion um just before we call be on the same page right let me just saying well make free make requests you know we'll do it we'll do it that way it'll be the waters but it'll be the right way to do it you know what I'm saying oh I'm sorry what I was going to do is uh give Zoila a recommendation and it goes to every school Committee Member then contact your mass Association of school committee members um and address those concerns and kind of verify through them um the requests that you're trying to make and if you are within your legal bounds within your position to make that request and based on the the response that you get you bring that to the the committee yeah I got that actually that's one of the things I have in my list to do because making a motion here I know it's not going to pass because again we need to have the friends and we obviously we don't have that it's very convenient right now for it for this um table for this school committee to close everything you know and I understand that so there's no need for me to make a motion that I know it's not going to pass but I'm gonna do my due diligence I'm going to keep reading I actually go into study this attorney letter because I I believe if I I'm correct that some City seated um Legal Information here that are not matching but again I need to do my homework and I will do that and thank you for the recommendation I will take that um follow because I do I'm not going to let this go yeah we'll just let it go no I'm not letting it not go so just letting you know this is very personal and I feel um that we either we actually want to protect people's information or or my opinion I'm gonna go like the Lord the Mr attorney is his opinion that we might be hiding something again my opinion Frank Frank do you want to say something um yeah actually I want to make a motion to get the comments from exit interviews um provided the last 10.

moved and seconded oh pick one uh I'll call for a vote item 13.3 uh Mr ankio their mother generally uh this uh resolution I will be declaring um May 21st through May 27th as classified school employee week and similarly I will be sharing this resolution with sites to post and uh there will be events for um for classified employees throughout this week may I have a motion motion to approve 13.3 second moved and seconded uh Miss Pineda your vote your student preferential vote yes thank you we'll call for a vote among the board and motion passes unanimously Miss Ortega 13.4 uh thank you Dr Beau this is a resolution uh to declare the month of April as Armenian Genocide commemorative month uh The Armenian Genocide is covered in our California State Standards uh in 10th Grade and so in our curriculum we covered the Armenian Genocide uh in 10th Grade and then on the actual Remembrance Day which was yesterday we dedicate a lesson uh on the genocide as well thank you so much may I have a motion promotion to prove 13.4 student preferential vote yes thank you all for the vote and the motion passes unanimously 13.5 Mr Ortega uh 13.5 um we were able to engage our students from eighth grade to 12th grade um Daphne Carolina and Natalie who sit on the student advisory Council uh gave us some really specific uh instructions on how we are to do this uh if this is if this was truly going to be forged for the students and by the students and so we followed uh their lead they gave some feedback on the initial drafts of the mascots uh it then went to a vote we did not have a majority so the top two mascots went for a second vote and before you today is the student's Choice uh for the new Azusa High School mascots and logos for the board to accept may have a motion motion to approve and a second second student preferential vote Miss Pinella yes thank you board members I have a discussion I'm sorry I'm sorry um I have a question regarding if you can remind us which one uh which one is through like for the Hat watching for the shirt I know we had that before way at the beginning yeah so uh one of the things that the students might have been surprised and the board is that we added a fourth option uh we reached out to our designers and we said you know one of the things that we're missing is AHS and so to the bottom right you'll see an AHS uh spirit icon there as well and so the reason we have four of them is because some of these will be more appropriate for things like stationary or official uh uh School related items so that might be number one uh that's the official School logo other things you we might need for a wall or for a banner or to go uh across a table skirt and so maybe that's Spirit logo number c uh and then for a patch or a hat uh spirit icon number one just with the a makes the more sense but then something across the Jersey the fourth one with just the HS makes sense and so as we now uh Azusa High School has been itching for this uh as now we have uh if the board accepts this um we will start beginning to work with our schools uh for things like uniforms uh the buildings um the um fields and the gym floors the Marquis things like that uh but this gives us a lot of flexibility uh depending on where and for what we need it for uh to use these these particular items um I want to follow through because I do have a concern with the um just the a being on the hat because I know that we've had situations that were going on with um um wearing the Hat they assume they're from Azusa 13 right right thank you and um I'm very concerned about that I think this is the time that we can change that image um I I like the the round on the first one to be in the head without just having the a because right away they say the a I mean they can be a student coming from school and I've heard it from parents stating that their their son was going home from baseball and they were in the A and they've been approached by the opposite gang member and have asked them hey where are you from because they assumed this because they have the a that they're from Azusa 13.

I mean do you have any input on them yeah yeah I think I did bring that up when we talked about it we um I talked about how logos with tats I really didn't want just an A on the hat because of that that exact thing because whether or not it has a school on it or anything kids wear hats and they're walking home hats that are like just baseball or even designed like just design like patched up and everything and they still get stopped no matter what's on the logo if there's an A on it like and you're especially like someone just walking home or since the both schools are combining and like a lot of them are from rival gangs on each side um they would probably say someone purchased the Hat oh why would you get that hat like it would it would kind of spark up things I think yeah we had that parent with that concern when we had the community meeting um he stated his son was from um a baseball team at azuzahai and that's how that's what happened to his son and I've heard it other times but I'm very concerned just having the a by itself board member of his pain at is your concern only with the A on the hat or would you be have the same concern if the a was on a polo shirt I'm talking about the A and the hat because that's what they kind of wear more uh you know like again like I said the the top emblem if that was kind of on the hat it may be um better perceive hopefully um than just the a by itself I have a question um as we're moving forward um to either approving not approving this can't since we have a first and second can we make a um emotion with the accept of the letter A by itself we can ask the person who made the motion to amend their motion that's a request yeah I would like to request that the person the board member who made the first motion to um retract the motion and to be able to go ahead and motion again with the changes that um that have been discussed just some points of clarity um so I hear board board vice president Rodriguez Pena saying that she has concerned that this a with the Jaguar on a hat um might stir up unnecessary trouble or cause trouble but I also heard her say that it's not completely eliminating that emblem that that emblem might be on a polo shirt or like on a patch on a jersey um and obviously whichever way the Board of Education wants to go is 100 okay uh the only other thing that I do want to um uh remind us is that the Board of Education um put the decision in the hands of the students and that's why uh it is worded acceptance of but that doesn't mean that you can't change I just wanted to throw those those things out just as as reminders and as clarifications that's all for my clarification it's not the a um per se I'm talking about the A on the hat I mean the the emblem on the top may be used in this other like um what president Beau mentioned you know on a shirt or something you know um just to change where they're going to be not necessarily to change itself because yeah this this was voted by the students so I want to respect that I don't want to change it I don't want to take it away I just think um changing where they're being placed that that's it that's what I'm talking about not to remove it because then you have to go through the vote all over again in which state much time when they did a well job I mean I like it but I don't want to take it all away from it that that's not wasn't um my question two quick clarifications um so again I think I hear board vice president saying the the concern or the wish would be that this a by itself right here with the Jaguar not be placed on a hat that's number one and then number two um I think that if the board decided to say we're going to go with the three but we're not going to go with the a um I think that is that is the board's right to do that if that's what they want to do just have a question is it possible to adopt all four and with the exception of the a standalone not being on a hat yeah that's all I'm asking yeah is that I'm not I'm right yeah so when um the the point of control for um the patches or designs is that with our contracted um print uh embroiderer so I guess a direct question is if I'm a student or a parent can I buy the patch and then can I put the patch on any item of clothing or backpack that I want um and maybe our high school students are staff can chime in here I don't know that we sell the patches by themselves um I think they're already on stuff but I I could be wrong but yes if they bought the patch then obviously they can put that wherever they want to put put it I do want to stress the fact that um once these you know we approve it and to become public and what happens is we we can say all we want is that we don't want them on a hat but but at the same time you know what is it that a student um can take that you know that and make his own hat and not go through the you know through the school so then what so then what do we do right we have no no overall control of of that and that and that is why the reason I did suggest to remove it that way it is not there and that way they cannot take it and make a hat from that so that's my stance on that um I I personally would like to go ahead and remove it that way we do not have an issue because if we start putting contingencies right you can't wear it on a hat but you can wear it on a shirt and you can wear it it you know what it we've opened a can of worms so I would like to ask my colleague a little feedback on this because any student you're looking at me weird oh okay um any student can just take the logo even now it's published and they can go to their nearest um right nearest silk screening shop and guess what they made themselves house so we have to look at it from both ways so I'm asking you know my colleagues here to take that in consideration that you know we approve it with the exception of again we have no control over that but if we remove it completely now there's no option so so recognizing that anyone in any one student child you know student or adult is able to to go to a print shop and order something there's there's nothing stopping anyone from getting even to your point even if we were to accept three out of the four logos these already here there's nothing that stops a student from still taking that um and doing regardless of what of what we we vote here I'm not sure I'll say I I wondered like where you because because we have why wasn't it there just an A and there was a Jaguar attached to the A and I didn't think about that until until you shared what you uh shared Yolanda so so I think that that kind of was helpful for from from me to see I'm not I don't I don't I think having more logos available for the for the school to be nimble to determine where to best place something um and I think that there's been sufficient conversation here that may not last into the future and so I don't know if there are ways to memorialize this with just branding etiquette or whatnot but um if we were able to do that but I no matter what we do there's there's not whether we accept this or not we can't prevent um what what you're suggesting so therefore I don't see the the point in preventing it from being accepted as one before a couple of other things if I may for the board to consider um we will have to do the field and we will have to do the gym floors um and we were going to speak to those companies to say these are the four that we have like what makes the most sense uh as you know the first one has a lot of detail and so being in the center of a field may or may not be the best thing to do and so something more simple which is why right now you have the Aztec current mascot and only the the Gladiator head because again you need something simple to pop the Gladiator at the uh Gladstone High School yeah and so I'm not I'm not a designer or that but I I must I'm assuming that when you when you're looking at those things the simpler the better so so that it pops um and then number two if if if anyone can put this a on a hat do we prefer then that now certain people can put it or that it's some like we just we stripe that away from being something exclusive and would you say well this is this is our this is our emblem um so I mean just again either way just throwing out some just different perspectives on that the board never growing his Pena I really appreciate your um bringing this issue to as a discussion point I know it's been heard by um my colleagues who have lived in Azusa longer than I have and um I think it puts us in a tough spot right yeah with what can you wear well and and keeping our our young people safe um and and I also share the sentiment about student voice and it went through a rigorous process of you know even the students narrowed it down right um and so it and and and and our student voice here um I think there won't be one Perfect Choice in the implementation but I I also think that we're not going to be able to control everything that happened well all I'm saying is okay so I know this is the Unified School District when you make the um because that's in our hands right when you when you make the hats that they're going to sell when you make the shirt so you know where you're going to put it put the emblems I'm talking about this is Unified I mean would it again if someone else does it off the street or copied or that we have no control that's correct but we do have the control of making these football uniforms or these um baseball uniforms and and softball whatever anything in our Sports so I'm talking about our district not the outside because of course we don't have control you know so that that's just you know what I mean can I ask for just clarification so so then the motion um there would be to um motion to pass this with the exception of a Souza Unified School District not using this a on acap no that's what I'm saying but I want to keep them I'm just saying to rearrange word like you said you know this is where the shirt this is where the Hat this is where the you know just to change it up but not to remove the a or not to remove any of that and it could be in a shirt it could be in a patch you know on a t-shirt or here or I'm just saying not in the middle of a hat that that's all I'm saying but I'm not saying to remove anything to change anything because again students took a long time and Community to make this happen and I want to respect that I want to take it away from them a hundred percent so I'm hearing um that uh the idea of to accept these four logos and icons as is and then give guidance to the superintendent that for district apparel that the single a would not appear on a hat that's that's simple as that yes and and so that guidance is not part of the motion but it's guidance from the board and that we are setting a precedent new logo new school and every year that we continue it's likely that that precedent would be followed so it's more and more likely as years go on that our caps have not the single a but something else yes I would like to go ahead and uh um is it Sandra who Moved originally Sandra did the staff point of order okay so Sandra so what is the original motion hope to uh accept as presented right okay so to accept as presented and that was seconded by oh is Yolanda pink oh was it okay so it was moved by benefited by board member Ariana's we've had discussion are we prepared to vote on the motion that's on the floor all right and daphneal thank you for leading Us in this discussion and providing your input so with the motion that's on the floor remember Ariana said you have a yeah I'm sorry so the motion was um can you please repeat the item the the motion just so I'm clear the motion on the floor is to accept the new Azusa High School mascot logo logos as presented as presented these four right here and so I think that's the motion that's on the floor and what we have discussed is depending if that motion passes or fails then giving this superintendent and District direction to around the use of the single a not to appear on District caps can I ask point of clarification point of order I did she retract no she no the original motion stands that she did not retract her emotion stanzas okay gotcha so is the original motion oh okay um yes thank you Miss Pineda board members and the motion passes unanimously thank you for all the energy and thought into that process it is um setting us up for the future more president if I may I just want to remind the board that we are five minutes away from our official end time unless the board takes action to extend we do only have uh three additional items but uh per the board policy uh our end time is 10 30 unless the board takes a vote to end it uh later well maybe we can do this in four minutes yes this is the award the bid to three Architects we currently have MSP as our district architect and they will continue with us on our current projects um this will be for any future projects in the future motion to approve 14.1 second any discussion seeing none um I'm Sorry Miss Pineda your vote yeah yes thank you board members the motion passes unanimously moving to item 14.2 Mr Mall yes this item is for um the third phase of our camera and surveillance installation this will cover some of the perimeter areas such as our in inside the offices and our NPR rooms make a motion to approve 14.2 second moved and seconded any discussion Ada yes thank you board members 15.1 may have a motion motion to approve 15.1 second and board members are moving to adjourn no discussions no discussion uh Ms Pineda are you on board do you want to um adjourn yes yeah thank you board members don't log out yet and the motion passes unanimously um we're adjourning at 10 27 pm thank you for

um so again you know we've added those links um we really believe that providing those and having superintended to provide those is very helpful okay we strongly suggest you set a calendar and then stick to it okay so you know your board president is superintendent to work together to establish that timeline to get the goals in then get it to the board Hunters please please do not make your boy president chase you around to finish it there's a statutory timeline you know in the old days your board president had to email me and say who's finished and I'd say geez this one's interest but not this one is and if it comes to this like weekly test we've Now set it up so that the board president and all of you are able to see online who has completed transparents published yes well no but it's easy to see anybody having to email and each other about getting it completed that way everybody they can't see anything you manage it's completely anonymous no one can get in to see your individual evaluation all they can see is your name and the date you finished it okay and there's the start date and then a complete date once everyone has completed I hit a button it compiles automatically I'm not evaluating the superintendent I don't read it I have a safe secure way to get it electronically to your work president I send it off to the board president and then you take it from there to complete the other steps along in the process but it is completely Anonymous it is pure again I don't have access to your password you know it works okay one just one quick question yes is it mandatory for all board members to complete that process before we can move on or is there a cut off drop dead date that we could say I would tell you it's your responsibility as a board member unless you have a conflict you know conflicted out of the process it's your obligation to fully engage in this process you have wanted fully the superintendent this is a major responsibility not only is in statute but it helps to cement positive working relationship with your superintendent and all of you know how critically important because your student account is for that is and so again it's a Communications tool if you have a concern this is your opportunity to say you know I think this went really well but I'm still concerned about this right it is the opportunity that you have to make sure that everyone is staying on the same page once and then you can move forward with different priorities for the following year you know it's a way of saying okay what do we finish what do we finish what happened in the middle of all of this that we need to still work on you know what's in progress but we haven't been able to finish and then how can we finish effectively okay um so again I will send you the link to be able to get on you'll get an email from me um there are multiple ways to get into the evaluation there's a link that is sent to you from the email I send it's also on a front page down at the bottom right hand side it's also on the field services page if you go to the field services on my website you can get into it from there so there are multiple places to get into the evaluation so if you lose the email from me which is very likely to get married somewhere or put into spam you can just go to our front page go all the way down on the right hand side it has been there for the 20 years at the association all right so um here's the sample of what the compilation will come back what it looks like once it's all compliant you might say well what does it look like when it comes back here's the goal here's the superintendent's comments here are the board's comments and there you can see that seven boards say satisfactory progress was made one said it was achieved and one said let alone no progress was made when you complete the written report that goes to the superintendent if this is a compilation it's not the final report final report must reflect the majority perspective of the board so on this particular standard you would say the majority of the board believe the superintendent made satisfactory progress in this whole area now what happens if you're one of those folks who's in the minority well as everything that you do as a board is by majority the minority voice is protected because it's all requires that the full Board of Education non-conflicted members only but I don't think you have anything so the majority of this order must meet with the superintendent to review the evaluation that is the opportunity for a board member who perhaps has a different perspective that's not reflected in the written report to say you know what I know my colleagues thinking we make progress but I'm still really concerned about this goal I'm really concerned about you know HIV or I'm concerned about safety and teacher or whatever the concern is that you have and I think you can say anything you need to say depending on the words you choose and the tone of you take those of you who had teenage daughters know that they can just look at you without just don't even have to talk to you um and you get defensive right they rule their eyes they hear people like but again that goes to what they're choosing to do I'm suggesting if you said I'm still concerned about this and here's why it's dramatically different than say you failed to take care of this right it's about the words you choose and the tone of the table and how you address issues is so critically important because you want to have a fruitful discussion about it you don't want people having um upset years I was a teenage girl none of them none of them are used I can tell you they will grow up okay here's a compilation for the standard and at the end you can see on each of these indicators where the board fell out and then what the overall indicators were and where the board came out on that as well okay so once again I compiled it I did secure retrieval to the board president I sent you a direction somehow to do that so that you know how to do that and you will then be able to print it out and you'll have it okay so the compilation is not the evaluation either the word price limit the vice president or Committee of the board whatever you have position done or want to do you can do um come up with a final report of summative evaluation incorporating in the standards and the goals that reflects the majority of people the board is allowed to meet it's the one time you were allowed to meet without your superintendent you have to send him or her license to discuss the summative report so that you're sure that it reflects the will of the majority of the board once you have met and accomplished that um then it will go to the superintendent ahead of the meeting that you will schedule with the superintendent to review this evaluation all of that can be followed the closed session superintendent must receive a rights notice Mike will send the superintendent Vice notices who in both instances because you have to make sure you embraced and agree to be able to discuss their performance um and then you will sign a company's board president on behalf of the board got the freedom to sign the copy the signature from the superintendent is not agreement with or disagreement with it's acknowledgment if you see they get stated a copy is given to the superintendent for him to keep and the words copied we strongly suggest you put in an Avalon Market confidential 2022-23 school year superintendent evaluation and give it to your board attorney so that we will always have access to it because even if you change board attorneys they will give the file to the next Attorney because there are ecs's that will say and I've had the age call me in the panic and say I nobody's got a copy what happened to the person that moved out of town you know all kinds of things and we don't keep it we are not in the business of evaluating evaluating anyone once it's compiled it is wiped off our system because we don't want to see the Personnel records not our responsibility to do that and he'll call us and I say continuity because another board down the road may not be able to produce lead either okay yes yes is looking for it you'd be out of luck and that's the reason for doing it okay so um again you're going to hold that annual conference that ends the process as with all certified staff in the school district the superintendent has 10 teaching staff days and that's the actual language from the statute even though it's due July 1st and no one's teaching typically or not most schools in July that's the way the law says so it's we consider those business days you can learn a lot of those teaching staff days um to append to the evaluation any kind of additional information documentation that he or she believes amplifies clarifies or better provides a reader with an understanding of that person's performance that's true for teachers supervisors directors anyone with a certificate has that opportunity to append to the evaluation you should be made aware be able to read it but in support of Education you can't say no you can't do that so they're kind of I want to do that as is every certified employee okay that's not unique to the superintendent and it's not typically done but again it is something you need to know can be done in case someone likes to do it okay um again you're going to write that report you're going to meet in an executive session um and again you know make sure you hit those areas progress on goals the leadership skills and then talk about you know what's spelling progress that you may need to think about moving forward and it becomes the starting point for goal setting for the following year which is why it looks nice to get it done by July 1st because then you have some time to do also and that's and you want to finish it your assessment of that long before I also strongly recommend that once you agree to the summative document as a board that you share it with Dr Steven ahead of time or any superintendent ahead of time because you want to be able to have an informed discussion if somebody hands me a document five minutes before reading and that says so what do you think give me 15 minutes to read it maybe you know you're talking about someone's 40 years worth of work so it just is a consideration and thoughtfulness so that they can reflect um you need to give it to them a little bit ahead of time so they have time I have a question so is July 1st that's the date that everything has to be completed so in 10 days prior it would be June whatever no 10 days after the event I don't believe it or not have some words that actually need on July the first because they're so under the bottom my recommendation is looking at your camera to figure out when you can get it done so that you can do those closed sessions both of those meters attached to avoiding if you can so you don't have to have a separate media but I do have some boards that do it on July the first because the talent yes I know the calendar gets away from them and then they're behind you know behind the eight ball so to speak um 10 days after the evaluation to attach it so if you did it you know June 1st you had to do the luck assuming there's no reasons but just for attendance distance you have like nonetheless you'd have 10 business days to attach so it's 10 days after you have that conference an employee has an opportunity first yeah that additional 10 construction phase can be an African language yes we can absolutely can if you were doing it on July 1st okay we also developed a template um for writing the summative report because so many boards have struggled with this um so when I send the word president evaluation that officers into the template in a Word document so that you can cut and paste to make it a little easier to complete that summative document so we did that as well again and the remarks that you provide should be the ones that support the majority of women that are written in the um as part of the summative document okay um and again you know you can check more than one box there is no limitation to say but you only have one area of strength is necessary and if you don't think there are any particular standards that have been have been ignored or need great Focus you don't have to check those okay it's up to the board Okay so we've talked about this again by July 1.

Ridgewood where I currently am is a very large district with nine schools and over 5 000 students and while I work with a fantastic team there and have learned so much from my colleagues and staff I'm very excited about coming back to the buzz as I like to call it of the school building and interacting daily with students and your teacher no I I'm so appreciative of this opportunity I look forward to being a part of this community and I'm I'm so sure that working together we're going to be able to continue to enhance the educational experiences of students here in Brielle and for me you know along with taking all the knowledge and the skills that they need to be prepared for the future you know it's also my biggest hope that they will leave us with continued nurse for Learning and really be have that Curiosity always present so that they could be lifelong Learners so I look forward to getting to know everybody I'm so happy to be here and again thank you so much [Applause] [Music] nervous now I'm nervous I'm good with snake plants this will be a new time yes Rebecca I have seen that's here yes this is Joe yes this is Nick David yes Mr Miller yes this is read yes Mr Vitality this is Wolf [Applause] now for a new presentation yes hi everyone this is not my presentation today my presentation is not out there but I did that first time that was very briefing your practice um the New Jersey Department of Ed had issued a waiver part of our q-tac process that we're going to be going through in a couple weeks so I explained everything to the Christian movie last week when we met until we are passing so I'm just going to go over a little bit about what the labor is and why we chose to take it so two indicators that are being used under Q staff or under instruction and programs uh indicators four and five which are calculating academic progress so the indicators right now according to Cusack are looking at data from 2018-19 which was before the pandemic and comparing it to 2021-22 so due to the pandemic the state is not reflective at all of our current population and our growth and utilization of student data from three years ago this represents the current state of the academic progress that we've made here in Brielle from 2018 until now additionally as we have navigated through a global pandemic we have been given a great deal of professional development for our teachers an enormous amount of time has been done with this on the staff to be able to analyze data and develop plans to expedite growth along with our interventionists as well I'm so proud of our teachers and our interventionists for everything that they have been doing since the pandemic started and minimizing the amount of learning loss in all of our students here in Brielle and despite the learning loss and comparing that data from 2018-19 to 2021-22 the maximum amount of points that you can receive on indicator 4 is 10 points for ELA and then 10 points for Math and despite everything we still scored a 9.2 for ELA and an 8.0 or Max so 17.2 points total we received only 20 is the max but my thought is we all worked really hard and if the state is offering this believer to get a full 20 points why not I feel that we deserve it so I completed the waiver it's all ready to be sent to the state tomorrow and then we will get um the full 20 points we just had to also show that we're using data from our current benchmark assessments which are more reflective of our current practices instead of comparing the 2018-19 njsla results to the results um from now so if you approve this I will send it to the executive superintendent tomorrow and on those two indicators for q-saf we will get a perfect and again I just want to thank the teachers and the interventionists for all their hard work there's no reason why oh no we just had um I was given a waiver that I had to complete um to the staff to the board and then once you send it in there should be no reason at all that we're not granted thank you for working any other questions thank you that's good now we have the uh 20 23 24 school budget okay this is the 23 24 budget start with our activities [Music] have disappeared and have been discontinued to what you've said the unassigned Surplus we need to make up for the federal aid so we were able to keep several positions that were prior paid for with these federal grants and they are now on our table t and then it was state aid comes from our our statement comes from our special ed transportation security a extraordinary aid for those who are all part of our revenues now the local tax Leverage is taxed at two percent and that is what our tax increase letting increase will be for a total of 286 thousand six hundred two dollars the local tax levy will be this is 14 million 616 690 which is the two said the increase of the 286.72 or state aid again this is security Transportation special entity and extraordinary the appropriation of our unassigned Surplus made up of the difference so tuition and interest or tuition is from our parent paid preschool the majority of our students in preschool are especially expressed by but we do have positions parents that want to bring their children in for the am 4 pm program based on their age that's one of our total operating budget we do not have a good service since that has been completed for the last two years and then instead of grants that you can see the majority of our Appropriations as you can see is within the regular education instructions salaries tuition takes up the majority that's including tuition to the high school Madison High School as well as in special education placements and vocational schools vocational including any specialist as well as Janet going to be the whole day program and share time the employee benefits Transportation employee benefits for Market Transportation went up mostly for the high school the high school tuition went up that's under our regular education tuition the regular edit instruction it's our salaries employee benefits special ed instruction includes local Replacements in-house in districts the building maintenance includes our salaries utilities or supplies and of course that has so much it shows a decrease there only because we had a retirement in our salad and that's the only change everything else in that category has done transportation is expected to go up thank you and then the last as any other check expenses so the special ed students are tuition and related Services increase here's the momentc is our model coaching Education Services Commission that we commit our transportation through and that cost went up 5.85 Health Care increased 7.5 against over three see online program went up a smaller industry Center for Learning and Independence and we also have an increase in the adjustment of tuition to be added to the 23-24 questions so this is the mass punctuation that we have here 19540.

everyone to our meeting uh just a couple of items I'd like to um point out before we look at the consent agenda I would like to publicly thank or publicly commend our teacher of the year selections this year for Cliffside Park I invited our teachers to the May 3rd board meeting next week and we'll um uh I'll make a remark about each teacher and present them with a a plaque but Barbara scordo who's a sixth grade teacher at number six school and Patty Benomo a middle school teacher at a math teacher in our Middle School Kim Shaw from our high school guidance counselor and Carmine cabreri who is a high school special education teacher congratulations to uh all those staff members for being selected by their peers as teacher of the year so we'll say more about each of them next week um I'd like to just publicly read a letter that I sent to Jessica Foster at school number three I'm sure many of you may have seen uh on the news that Jessica came to the aid of one of our students at school number three uh probably saved her life um so I commended Jessica or I am commending Jessica publicly but I did send this letter dear Jessica on behalf of the Board of Education and the entire Cliffside Park School community community I want to commend and thank you for your heroic actions while assisting a student in distress your quick response using the Heimlich maneuver may have saved her life we are very lucky in the Cliffside Park School District to have dedicated employees as yourself who truly truly care about the well-being of our students thanks again so publicly thanks Jessica for uh job well done um Pre-K and kindergarten registrations are ongoing we did Pre-K or we are doing pre-k this week kindergarten we have done already but if there are any community members who have children who are new to kindergarten this September they can contact the central office and fill out a registration form for September last yesterday we had our budget vote and I want to again publicly thank our community for supporting our budget again this year a budget vote coming in as yes which it did yesterday is a big help to our schools district most importantly to our students so thank you to everyone who came out to vote yesterday I want to thank Mrs Forster guidance counselor at our middle school for holding the high school Honor Society event on April 18th uh just a reminder this coming Tuesday May 2nd I believe it's the second uh we have our middle middle school induction at school number six at six o'clock in fact I think in your packet there's a uh an invitation so if you can make that night great it's our it's our Middle School induction okay um before I look on to the consent agenda any questions from the board or the public any committee reports Joe I don't know if you wanted to mention that we're still in uh conversation with uh our committee for the temple and you know as you know we're we're exploring as it would be the reduction we discussed uh possibly uh making it a High School annex you know conversations are going on land Associates is working with the Pharaoh's architect and engine you try to put a package together that they can submit to the state we're still running some financial news Etc so people keyboard of the bar as soon as we get a little bit more things are moving along but you know these type of projects slow ly so see how it goes I think okay anyone else okay as everybody knows that this time of the year because of the good financial position we have with some Capital dollars we've gone out bid this evening we'll be approving two bits we'll win the chiro and the entire staff did a great job with the bidding process for the land Associates and then I believe will give us a little quick update I always contact with the attorneys and Architects and Engineers to make sure that everything complies with the bidding requirements and that the contractors are investing in the state so it's pretty much okay thanks John anyone else okay I just want to uh in your folder tonight um as you know each summer I'm going to talk about our summer school program in a minute but each summer we also run a enrichment program program for our students these flyers have gone out to our students and our parents posted on our website so this year we're running a two-week enrichment program in things such as science video game design Ceramics what's cooking Lego robotics and we usually have a pretty good turnout this year it's going to be two weeks in August August 7th through 11th and then August 14th through 18th so that's been posted to our website if there are any parents looking in tonight and they'd like to register their students they can download a form or get a copy of the form from their trials School office so if we look at the consent agenda uh on page two top of page two as we do each month we are approving professional development uh reimbursement for staff for travel and for registration fees at the bottom of page two we're in the process right now of uh interviewing staff for next year we have a number of openings due to some resignations that we have so we are actively interviewing and hopefully hiring as you know it's the education field has become very competitive and there are certain areas I'll name science math and other areas that are very competitive so we're trying to move along as quickly as possible but at the bottom of page two we are hiring Claire POTUS who is a beginning teacher in elementary school she'll be assigned to grade four in school number three and she's taking over for a staff member who's moving on to another position or will be top of Page Three Hannah velarde another beginning teacher she's moving into school number six uh grade grade six and she'll be also taking over for a current teacher who's moving in to a different position uh about halfway down the page uh recommendation uh by the superintendent of schools to accept the retirement of Robert Walker vice principal Middle School effective June 30th you know Bob Walker has been with us as a math teacher most recently as a vice principal in the middle school I wish Mr Walker the best he's been with uh the district over 40 years uh as a math teacher and a vice principal of school number six uh I'm I'm sorry the middle school so he'll be retiring June 30th Sue Avalon is also um has submitted her retirement papers Sue has been a science teacher in our high school for 20 years teaching a variety of subjects and again we wish sue the best Laura hushman who's a grade one teacher at school number four is resigning to move on to a different position outside of education so we wish Laura the best she's been with us for about three or four years at the bottom of page three as we do each year we are approving summer school teachers for grades pre-k through eight and these are teachers that obviously work with us in the district we try to assign summer school teachers who are interested to the school that they teach in so that they're familiar with our students so we have a number of teachers regular classroom and special ed who'll be working from June 27th through July 26th top of page four we're continuing with the summer school teacher appointments next group of Staff members are teacher aides who work either in our kindergarten program during the summer or in special education education classes and again these are all teacher aides most of them familiar with the class they'll be in during the summer and the students that they'll be with the very bottom we are recommending a stair for our summer enrichment program that was the brochure that we were just looking at and these are staff members who are going to be teaching those uh specific subject classes during the summer top of page five uh we are proving Tom mandillo English teacher football coach at the high school for a summer weightlifting program Tom has been doing that for about six or seven years now that program runs from July 6 through August 4th uh we are proving to uh of our speech therapists to work during the summer with students who need continued speech services our colleague Wiley and Courtney vignola who are with us as full-time speech therapists they'll be working in the summer a little bit further down uh resolution next to last Christy pampinto is a high school mathematics teacher she has submitted a request for maternity leave beginning on or about May 15th and she'll be returning on or about June 2nd 2024 and Jacqueline Monte Carlo who's a teacher at school number three is also requesting a maternity leave she'll be leaving uh honor about May 22nd and then she will be returning February 21st 2024.

so just some thoughts um you want to make sure that you fill out these things carefully and thoughtfully and by that I don't mean to be kind thoughtful I mean think through it this is someone's professional evaluation so it's important to be thorough and fair and Equitable in your approach um remember you're reflecting on the big picture not just the one item that nobody approves that you really supported you know because that's not the purpose of this we all have our Little Red Wagons right that we pull along behind us the zip set about put this in this this is a big picture total performance okay um and again including the timelines um by July the first okay so you know this is not a once a year event it begins with that goal setting and the evaluation is simply the culmination of the work it's done over the course of the entire year um we often see the superintendents sometimes you may want to develop a system for retaining the documentation when things occur that support your goals who are standard just to make it easier when it gets to be you know February March timeline and you start thinking about this it's like oh I remember we did something but I don't remember where I filed it maybe everybody does a lot better at that you do but I think it's helpful to just keep a running path and for those of you who are board members you know if something really stands out to you you may want to hang on to an agenda or something else or put it in the file for evaluation yeah for the year that you're going to be doing just to help you when it's time for you to fill out your portion of it um and again it's the responsibility of all eligible board members to fully participate because each of you has an equal voice and so I have and I say this all the time every year I've never met a superintendent ever they did not want to meet the expectation of their employee members that doesn't mean that they always fit the market for all board members all the time but they work hard it's a tough job they deserve an evaluation that is thoughtful and carefully done and that's important and that means everyone participated so I recognize that you're volunteers I know you leave busy lives deeply appreciate everything you do but this is something that really needs to be done and done well okay the board census I know Mike is on top of it on the book and then it's your email we just have that so here is where it is under Field Services it's the first entry um it's on our front page on the bottom right hand side we also have all of these online resources when you log in and put your username there you'll find a copy of this you'll find an FAQ with frequently asked questions there is also a word dot I mean it's a PDF but you can create the whole evaluation of blank if you want to look at it ahead of time I have some board members who like to think about it write out their comments first not on the computer you can go out and go in so that you have time to do it so if you have an hour you want to start it but then you've got to run the kids to please follow the cross or whatever and you have things you have to do um you can sign out and when you come back it'll take you right to the page where you left off okay and it won't be easier so that's something that you can do so that you can think about it that way it doesn't become too overwhelming there's a PowerPoint very similar to this one that's available there there's a webinar you can watch me do this in the recorded version um and so all of those things are there for you in case you have questions and then if all else fails or you dislike me and you have a question you can call me you can email me I will be happy to help you in any way okay questions good all right well thank you very much some of your students are here already we've been a few minute break before you have to go out to the next part um thank you very much and I hope to see you all um at the Somerset County meeting you're being certified congratulations I look forward to seeing all of you there whereas many of you asking maybe it is a celebration and you should feel very accomplished I feel accomplished for you you did a lot of the work okay thanks thank you thank you and then the tutoring I had to go get me a baseball pictures before the kids so I've been home today for about a half hour just long enough to get the boys I just ate a six inch Quick Check stuff on on Route 28 on the way good to see you too thank you we'll be in touch about the next one I'm not sure what's next but we'll let you know yes um all right okay everybody so very quickly in a second yeah thank you thank you all in favor um foreign thank you very much thank you foreign thank you foreign let me just make sure the audio is still working let me just all right you are unmuted and it seems to still be working great okay so we're going to reconvene a meeting now that we have abusive majority of our uh local universities and opportunities to create certification Pathways for staff members within the districts you may just pursue additional professional certification um and that was uh our discussion thanks Mr Dawson any questions for Education committee all right okay so governance was actually very short this month there were some policies that are there in the notes that I will bore you with the only one that is of really any consequence to us is um that we are going to be looking at our building our policies for um using our buildings and our grounds because some we've been getting some kind of some sporadic use and people have been paying fees so we're going to look at those policies uh in the coming weeks review and amend if necessary other than that the policies were kind of given to us by Mr processing and we don't really have much say in them so you can read them in the notes section on board dots we also are going to be slightly reconfiguring some of our restructuring some of our committees which is also in the notes um one that we really have to get started is the Athletics and extracurricular committee we really want to start assessing what we're offering at every level of our district how it compares to our neighboring districts neighboring communities and what can we do better what can we offer maybe that we don't uh and and where we can how we can move extracurriculars and activities forward from here we're also looking at possibly uh for the time being anyway um stopping our community outreach committee with the understanding that we still want to be connected to our community that that part of it doesn't stop but we may not need a formal committee to do so if the need arises in the future we can always bring it back as an ad hoc at that time and really that was about it from government it's very short this month thank you Mr Brown any questions any strong feelings about continuing the community relations act up or suspending it as was recommended by governments here that one in particular if there's anybody that feels strongly we can continue it or we should continue it now would be a good time or any any members so when we say two or three months or something like that yeah so the ad hoc nature of the community is really just that it's not one of our standing committees as a part of our governing documents a one that we created so the idea would be if there's a need for us um [Music] exactly and part of the thinking here was that we needed to create some room and Make Way for our extracurricular committee which means that we wanted to tackle this year but everyone materials so hopefully with that kind of balance I think I think we can definitely especially since other things in the first year we've been about 15 and um accumulated I'm sort of activated to those communities that's the question uh after those fires that displaced our families I had asked a general question or are we as board members which would be on the community outreach are we as board members allowed to go to a Target to a Costco and solicit them to help these people because I was willing to go to Costco and say hey we've got damaged to burn Bound Brook we shot at your stores all the time and you got families that were just placed can you assist them and I never got an answer and that would be something that I guess community outreach would be responsible for yeah and you know I would walk them into it from our attorney as well I think generally speaking the board really is about acting as a unit you know when we're all assembled if there are actions that we won't take into behalf of the board that's what we really should be directing our superintendent and our Administration to do it I do believe they took a significant amount of action in that regard especially for the data center um the uh the way we normally worked is considerably board members as individuals can take action engaging fundings and attraction purpose if it's going to be as important resolution people authorizing times without really interesting yeah that's good and just this uh I have reached out to the families that are experience in the situation in ask them if there was anything else official they needed what they said to me was that the community the local community even outside communities so so helpful that they contributed so much that they really couldn't take any break because they couldn't do uh they could use all the stuff that they had so it makes film they got to pay for a while taking care of enough to this point thank you any other comments or questions on governance committee okay so the next up is human resources and U.S Nelson is not here at this point um so I'm just going to give a brief report for everybody uh we did discuss a few different issues any new development some of which you will see on the agenda this evening those are two new uh job descriptions one for the director of curriculum and construction dealer for the gifted and talented teacher for grades teacher six um the discussion is very positively we also received an update regarding all the new open positions that have been included in the budget the fact that they have been posted interviewing and hopefully hit the ground running uh we reviewed the uh nonrenewable list and maybe a discussion um there are some additional items on the agenda tonight specifically regarding amending uh resignation to our education for the middle school and we were really kind of the situations we were prepared to support the students in the middle school we learned about and then it goes out with a continuing discussion regarding negotiations where things stand and really solidify the form of economic proposal to the groundwork Education Association which was prepared to exchange proposals with anything and that is it for human resources any Financial questions um with their anything about this updates uh an issue that we have to work through creatively because some of the things we believe in the past [Music] um was Charming deal when you said uh tuition repair tuition so the idea there being that if there has been a traditional reimbursification for the teacher that does come with uh certain extremes attached namely the need to stay in District for uh redefined period of time as included in our policies and when a teacher accepts the oceans of the University believes the district prior to that then we look to reclaim any money's paid beyond what was so we reviewed the Dynamics that are in play there as well as a particular incident or a situation that is currently being addressed and we discussed potential solutions for that into the future I don't believe there's anything to be acted on in this agenda but it's something that they may bring forward again if there's a new address of reprise policy cases thanks any other comments or questions for each other all right I think that brings us up to operations yes well the operations I was not at this last meeting but I'm going over some incredible notes that were presented so uh it was a very eventful meeting so I'm going to convince it [Music] all non-essential spending will be deferred until the next school year and the essential orders will be processed this year the concept was that when a purchase order was cut in April May or June from the Congress of books and services and there is a little utility in the current school year with only once again Dr Freeman will decide reporters are essential in nonception so that was uh the second part is going on the incredible budget update the benefit budget was submitted to the county office at the time of the meeting that they have not heard any feedback Mr Dorsey presented a consideration to the committee to modify the budget to improve the replacement of a 24 or 19 passenger bus um Mr Dorsey can you just very briefly go into why that bus would be needed yes sir thank you Mr Zucker the consideration was that because of supply chain issues speaking to vendors in the industry there is up to a two-year back order on buses and bands because capacity delays coming from manufacturers and so on so buses and vans the transport students have a mandatory retirement schedule from the state and we had a couple vehicles that are approaching that in the next year or two so the quote was we would like to get into queue now for a purchase order so that we could buy some replacement vehicles and as I as I mentioned in the weekly update we were able to find some resources from Savings in the current year budget support us even a couple months Advanced order time to get the order in and charges against this year's budget so we did uh received a approval from the county office for the tentative budget it was approved without any changes required or any questions which was very pleasing to everyone and therefore there are no changes from the preliminary budget for the final thoughts I like for a while and Beyond impressed along the way with the proactive nature and I want to thank you on behalf of the board and Dr Freeman for thinking ahead so we are here um there was so much allocation but we talked about the food service center they talk about the food service fund on the divorce to provide a committee for the recommendations for allocating additional expense charges and current service fund operation expenses including a portion of business office salaries that are directly tied to the program utilities and other miscellaneous expenses approve service function was safe directly sir um we also they also talked about the restoration of balance sheets reserves accounts of 2223 budget Mr Dorsey informed attorney that only statutory thought that the only statutory opportunity to transfer anticipated access Surplus in the budget was for the board to do so via a resolution and June public reading Mrs Worcester provides the current Reserve account prescriptions and their approximate balances it's also inform the community that the auditor has recommended a quote not to exceed figure be used in the resolution suggests what the year uh there was an update to insurance policies and again I want to on behalf of the board congratulate uh this administrative team because the committee that the district has locked into a zero percent increase in health benefit premiums of 22 for the 23 24 sleep that is incredible and we wanted to thank you for that uh on top of that then we have you know I think we were kind of sentence on Mr Dorsey um the reason for that was there was we were late with uh payroll taxes for 2012 .

that that's that may be adjusted in the future years correct it was under represented and that's why there's this additional 106 on the Block when the state comes in they evaluate a tuition whether it's a private school or a public school and they determine if in fact what the school district was charging was appropriate whether it was too little or too much and that's where the new Justice comes in last year we had a credit is it the following year that the name of that adjustment yes yes so they basically said a lot of those adjustments and increases for Africa is incoming 8th graders special services you really don't know what those special services are yet at the time so their freshman here they invaluating those so if they needed an extra age or whatever Services they needed then they build that the following year so they fill it so that today they basically add up the expenditures and divide among all the signing districts or that is that specific hours yes so that freshman year those services and basically talented at the end of the year that next summer Community freshman and sophomore that's where they come up with I think uh number seven but the tuition is the same right the tuition is the same I'm wondering if that adjustment is the same for everybody or if it's yeah like let's say let's say Secrets got a lot bigger because it's specific to development cost for people increase what's driving that the most is we're sending 15 more states of percentage which are also sending us as well it's divided it's less kids but they're watching the enrollment foreign [Music] foreign okay uh thank you Diane so um obviously I'm very pleased to say that the budget does a lot of things our goals as a board of education and as a school system it maintains our current educational programs uh which we are very proud of and or outstanding so we're going to continue to provide the educational resources to our staff and to our students through this budget it continues to support our extracurricular and athletic programs outside of our classrooms so that our students either have connections with our school beyond the classroom which is critically important for the environment and our school culture um it continues to provide a safe and secure environment I won't go into the details of security for obvious reasons um but the things that you do around the school to make sure that we are as safe as possible we'll continue to be supported by this budget and we're very pleased that we can continue our cooperation with the real police and have an in-school resource officer on a full-time basis daily here at the school and academics budget supports that um of course we are meeting all of our state mandates and there are many in doing that within the parameters of the two percent path um additionally I'm very happy that we're continuing all of the incredible and outstanding professional development initiatives throughout the district including creating a schedule within the building that supports professional learning communities so our teachers have time built into their day to talk about student learning and progression and compare data points and talk about how our students are doing where we can support them and how we can continue to make sure that they're learning at an adequate pace and that we're providing those supports and that's true as well with the schedule that continues to provide a great level of team meeting so that articulation can continue within the building uh our staff development pork chops will continue through this budget our technology workshops and training will continue in this budget we continue to provide through this GCA web-based platform our state mandatory training for all of our staff on an annual basis and really important The Limited software that the district has been done using and gives our teachers really powerful tool to Benchmark assess our students and then continuously see where our individual students are meeting particular advantage of those benchmarks linked directly to New York state standards and understand where our students are so that we can remediate and enhance learning both on both ends again on Safety and Security as I mentioned we will continue to support the cost sharing in the real police department in terms of having a resource officer in the building each day our cameras will continue to operate at a high level we have an outstanding system and that is continued to be enhanced Mr Sabia does an excellent job identifying areas where we will continue to grow that ability to make sure to understand what's going on in and around our building on a daily basis and our security measures of course a few steps as you continue to enhanced by this budget thank you any questions do you know where do you have a sense for how this pie chart breakdown compares to the past years is there anything that's changed dramatically in terms of the written are they've asked the Appropriations yeah drastically no but I was going to say incrementally we do have a few that I'm waiting for that I'm waiting for final positions but but hopefully this is not like like the blue one year isn't a quarter and now it's forty percent it's all generally more fits the same pattern since there's nothing glaring and this is the following page on the Appropriations yeah uh first from the bottom Transportation yes so we're showing a decrease of 31.77 but on the following page number two which on Transportation is an increase of 5.5 percent the crust is going up that particular line item for transportation there was the dollar amount budgeted last year that was never used it wasn't necessary so I use that money for something else but the actual cost per diem what their rats are going to be we're preparing 5.85 we were told by mosc as we expected because the transportation line on the appropriation page showing the decrease is that where we have some contracts with families to for specialize where they transport themselves such as that money in that Transportation yes so it's not just that mlbsc yeah we have but there are only four are there other areas that's covering in this Transportation that's not MLB everything except we have like I said there's several families and it's minimum [Music] yes [Music] is necessary so um [Music] large part of life is necessary the increase it's a question question obviously yeah [Music] can't happen it can't happen between regardless so there is also poor individuals that were placed on our payroll that were prior okay so so uh the question with respecting special in the places a question extremely important to educate everybody [Music] foreign [Music] so we could be in this position yes to 900 of the Surplus don't have that number again thank you remember the purpose of surplus we sell when 2026 when the solar panels are up here [Music] number that I was given by the auditor 357 was mandatory we had to use it was already prior and put into 23.4 budget then there is another amount that exclusive of your capital reserve and the money was used for this week we have such a capitalists I mean the last few years in my Surplus right and this is basically it might be about three or four hundred thousand a month so that's true but it's a potential problem moving forward we have a preserve account is intact in terms of the purpose of saving profession is to avoided what what professional s [Applause] okay thank you thank you any other questions make sure you want to change your mind [Music] presentation and so we're moving on to visit this business visitors are committed to comment on agenda eyes only at this time please save your name any correspondence yeah and so we'll move on to committee reports starting with District Operations okay thank you so any questions and we'll move on to representative mattress students [Music] from French hockey track and Fields um so basically the winter sports recognized foreign [Music] believe they even mentioned their jealousy over our pickles thank you Joe any questions and uh Mr Becker curriculum and Brokers but we did have the meeting it was on the 19th the class is a little over an hour and a few minutes it was intended by all the uh board members on the committee which included uh the president Miss Jones Dr B Ambrosio let me read them myself and it's also identified the full Administration related topics uh the most notable worth of laser caffeine that the administration is moving forward with the preparations for uh open positions staff and or VA and extended school year for parking generated the identification of students would benefit his occurring in advance of the implementation into the programs of those families in time periods related to the way sort of admination are being finalized including one programs named we talked about numerous other summer programs and activities including program which is up and running spring enrichment uh school dance which recently passed we had a brief discussion regarding dances in general being open to Second districts we are on schedule for our graduation in the eighth grade trip and things like PTO sponsored Arrangement programs such as the local Lego programs are being created that specific program filled up so fast peer leaders and student government trips to paint consensus we spoke about special education and preschool updates uh betrayed numbers of the students are comparable standing and we will have an esy perspective uh We've mentioned about the inquiry which is the priest prayer Grant and getting compared for that and so far surveys being sent out of multiple data points new surveys are not yet created we spoke about Equity diversity and where we made contact with community members to coordinated date and gather an idea of what community participation would look like and hope to confirm and scheduled for the year and Miss Jones shouldn't speaking word for that we also spoke of autism acceptance per month which was acknowledged the previous week with things like bullets and board displaying and created for the kids of view and access we spoke about the update to the director of curriculum which uh in the library dorm labor as well as back to autism accepted months it's being um uh we spoke about the current Town sentiment uh surrounding the school and uh what it may be and from my perspective I'd like to say that it is very good uh through the interim superintendent of as well as uh the outgoing human first curriculum let alone the other Administration and in the faculty and we are in a really good place as a school to go through the transition of welcome welcome there's been a lot of hard work put into it particularly with the existing Administration let alone the job of the curriculum committee is to manage the matching programs with standards curriculum cycle spoken sequence technology and balance between school programs code and extracurricular in our job our school does report any questions it was canceled as well yeah postponed and we'll see rescheduled and I'll just just very quickly talk about what Kirk was talking about the um the one program um and with the community so um what I contacted the real historical society and so um they have so much information and I thought that um program where they would discuss on the history of the African-American people living in Brielle um and it's a long Rich history and I know that when we look at Brielle there's very little little diverse um but at one time there was more so um I reached out to the historical society and um Mr Hamm he actually retired so we made contact UM with Ms Morgan's backpacks and so um she will be working on this um a presentation for our students and it's supposed to happen either I'm not sure when that's up to Administration um but it will be and I'm not sure if it's for the inside school or just for certain grades but um they're working on that now um Jen loves is working on that on witness Morgan Stackhouse and so they're they're going to put together a nice presentation um because it's so important um for us to know all of our all of the members of our community and the contributions that they've made to Brielle so that's that's an importance okay um and we'll move on to uh policy [Music] human resources Monday afternoon where we just pretty much went over the agenda items that are on for tonight any questions policy here so on behalf of Sean um we met on April 20th Mr Russo just quickly myself Sean uh Kristen um there are several items up for first reading tonight but before I go through that there were three topics that were brought up that we're going to review and discuss our future policy meetings that are not on the agenda for review um those three those three issues where one there is an existing policy which discusses the storage and administration of emergency drugs used to treat opioids orbiosis such as naloxone which we don't currently participate in that policy because it was typically only for high schoolers but we're going to readdress that to consider doing that here as well to evaluate an establishment of the policy that would restrict homework on specific religious or cultural holidays and also to review establishing an old islands for vehicles waiting to drop off or pick up students at the request of the eagle club the policies that are up for first reading tonight um the first one uh deals with first year Board of Education members taking their State Management training within three months of being sworn in previously it had to be done within the first year so that's shortening that times that time period the next one is establishing certain scenarios in which it is acceptable for staff to use bodily force with student students these are very specific situations and very specific rules where the intervention is required to either protect other students or staff from bottom harm the next policy P3 p5305 just added additional requirements for the school Physician's qualifications which she already has met the next policy required the states requiring the board of estimate to maintain student records including home records for 100 years we talked about making sure that through the the sense of nature of health records having them ensure that these files are locked and unaccessible so we're looking into obtaining a lot of file cabinets policies six one one two six one one five point zero one zero four and six three one one uh oral are dealing with best practices and requirements when Federal grant funding and then finally p7400 is updating the requirements pertaining to sharing blueprint schematics and images of the school with law enforcement and First Responders the new requirements aim for this would be digital format instead of just paper and allow access to the police department and First Responders to see changes that happen in the schools of time we also discussed an update regarding our transformation from board box of the digital digitization of our policy documents on the board.platform we haven't really made a lot of progress since the last time we've talked about this um but we're still pushing them as much as we can push any questions thank you we'll move on to community relations around you um so for this month we've got some feedback or some info from some of them so they are they are on looking to fill uh board positions for the 2023-2024 full year um there has been uh they've been advertising and sending out emails about it so anyone who said they be two co-presidents a vice president anyone interested can send their email which is available on website from our vpag group uh they appreciate the celebration of autism speak um which I believe was during this week um they also similar to Hart discussed in the curriculum we're asking about the Blazer academy uh which sounds like we're moving forward with um as well as the preschool um full full day of preschool um and then oh and also this is a bit of a repeat as well uh from policy but a reminder to have the no homework night directly before or after the major holidays that might not be observed by realities this past year ran into it or just recently with Passover Arena too um their next meeting will be scheduled in May that will be published on the website when they do stuff you schedule it I think yeah that's all from the feedback group and then for administration updates uh there was an inclusion assembly for all all grades um on the 24th of April the 28th of April is welcome to school day also the 28th is Arbor Day and the fourth grader creative cherry tree and the pickleball tournament the booster club fundraiser will be on May 11.

the revised PCS formula hold harmless component states that Alliance districts are Health harmless and will receive the greater of their Grant amount current year event or entire year event this in addition to the minimum budget requirement act prohibition of Alliance to the trip to towns from reducing the district funding translates to delivery Public Schools retaining all of its state and local funding in spite of the reduction of students due to the Charter School opening the only charge the Denver public schools are statutes only responsible for as relates to the Charter School um is providing transportation and special edition services to students attending school services that currently also are being provided to Danbury students and attending private schools within the district boundaries these Services currently represent approximately 27 where people expenditure for eligible students in Denver this means that 73 of the total revenue generated for each unit will remain in the district in spite of the students being served at a charter school in real numbers this averages to about 750 000 current cohort net savings for the district 30 seconds or 5.5 million dollars common in essence once the school reaches full mature uh just a million the anniversary Charter School will serve 110 students per grade level so maximum of 770 students in the conclusion um this will help alleviate overcrowding if you have any questions in what I presented today please feel free to reach out to myself or other members of the Elevate charter school team thank you for allowing me this opportunity to separate a trip but thank you all all right okay Mr Richard ginelli I got a lot I've got to watch the clock on this one that's right you should go faster yeah thank you good evening Mr Wilson chairman ladies and gentlemen good morning captain um I'm here tonight to say thank you and congratulations to Mr Walston his team and his staff for his successful accomplishments to establish a report of the relationship and confidence with the city's Administration this is no small task that has it's been almost two decades if not more to gain this relationship and support this means there's a confidence in the educational plan provided by Mr wolsky to have the administration fully funded the budget request some may say the support was necessary as the city undertook the cost of building the academy however I remind you several years ago previous mayor sat here and told his body he would build an addition onto the high school but it was not the only financial Staffing of the facility there's the difference between moving ahead versus one step forward and two steps back don't take this accomplishment to break years ahead is going to be your most difficult to retain those incredible High forecast funding dollars never before heard therefore so this year will not be an anomaly and hopefully the norm I would suggest starting right now by changing the communication process to educate the public and the administration on your plans strategy and needs continue to be transparent and build trust and confidence in the districts of Education thank you very much thank you that was a record that's nice yeah Jacqueline hello um good evening Board of Education and superintendent Wilson my name is Jackson Aaron I'm currently live at 34 Terre Haute Road and the doctors in first grade at Park Avenue Elementary I grew up in Danbury and went to school here all my life and then I was a teacher in the Danbury public schools for 10 years I'm currently a teacher in another Connecticut school district I want to thank you all for the hard work I do for our students because I see you every day as one of the co-presidents of the PTO over at Park episode where you guys are doing wonderful work and thank you for that behalf of our students and our community on March 24th I emailed all of you the entire Board of Education as well as superintendent Austin about the district calendar approval process it's now over a month later and I did not receive a single response to an email that was sent to 11 people as a member of this community with a child in our school system I'm sure you can understand my surprise and frustration by not being responded to as a parent I believe is problematic that the next year's school calendar is not approved until very late in their current school year the 2023-2024 school calendar was just approved last month mixed planning for the end of summer Messi especially for families like mine where one parent Works in a neighboring School District with a different calendar additionally any families that need to plan for summer camp do not have the information they need when they need it a lot of areas open registration as early as January and February and some of them fill up rather quickly I've interproof school calendar is necessary for parents to be able to plan for their child care needs during the summer months other area districts prove calendars early in the school year for the next one for example Ridgefield approved is 2023-2024 calendar in October of 2022.

cafeteria expansion now this when I read this I was intruding perplexed and massage at the same time because um we have there was a brick position suspective yeah always just so you uh folks on the board who have not been able to get up there and start passing them around thank you sir so the dilemma and I'm going to uh I'm going to back this in the divorce in relation to the thank you um after receiving the first palette of accent breaks which would be the the outside back wall um next to the parking lot in the back of the school without our Administration identified that the brick color to the left um was a bit darker and would not contrast the existing bright color of the school very well there's also some concerns about energy consumption with the additional heat that could be absorbed by the darker bricks and just be a general Aesthetics is also identified through or discussion that before somehow got skipped in the process of selecting for color and that's generally performed via board resolution and um we found a record for that so there were discussions with the architect to change the color of the accent brick as something that matches the school a little better and that also involves the lures on the side of the village match to the accent there are smaller expense items the architect expresses concerns about event supply chain issues with Rick orders that a custom colored brick like the one to the left could take up to over 20 months in order to ship and deliver an air for um and uh and there's actually a resolution on the agenda tonight look forward to authorize me to negotiate a change order with the architect to replace the accent right to the left to a color that we hope to find available and in stock will better match the existing brick color of the school you're confident that we will be able to do that which is why the resolution's not for tonight and of course the ones that change order is processed and the architect and um and the Mason identify a better matching brick for the board we will bring the brick selection to the operations committee and as of course going to committee structure works for everybody's understanding the committee's deliberate issues in advance of the board so that they can make a recommendation for the board and it's a more efficient process so the committee hopefully will make a recommendation on the new substitute brick color it would then go to the board as a full resolution with a change order and that um I was down at Lafayette which obviously I got the bricks my new best friend Joe was Pharaoh says the company and um as it stands now there are enough works to finish this project albeit we don't like that particular color so I asked him this morning as a it sees though if the concerns about the Aesthetics the look facing Second Street I said why can't we put the darker bricks on the driveway side because nobody sees it there's trees and two houses he said well if you want to do that you're gonna have to order probably twice as many groups okay I said what about the option then of taking the darker bricks and doing something like bands use the existing the new lighter bricks and Bandit rows of darker states to use up the darker bricks on the side which nobody sees and then have the new bricks which will come to the entire back wall so you have then you're aesthetically pleasing he said that the Border breaks yes 26 to 28 weeks so we would be stalled probably seven months yeah so you know there are a variety of factors that I think are like here um and you know Mike's suggestion of reworking some of this stuff with the architect uh I think it makes good sense because they have the opportunity to reassess things like maybe changing suppliers for where the brick comes from multiple different designs designs that they could go into and I'm sure that they would consult with the contractor so I think the general idea though is we want to be mindful that we don't make frivolous changes that waste money for the district or that we create situations where we're going to extend the timeline like you're talking about uh to the point of course we might not be ready for uh the school year when it opens in September so I think those are all aspects of the plan that liking the administrative team are going to take into consideration uh as they come back operating with a recommendation and hopefully like you said it addresses over so thanks there's one more point in the committee I'm sorry [Music] Committee of a recent warning that was issued by the county office the districts must allocate 20 of the award or risk being at compliance Mr Gorsuch formed the committee that previous administration's uh did this not happen uh and um [Music] so again uh Mr President closing in our remarks uh the committee is thankful for the diligent work and the incredible uh the incredible care that the administrative team is taking for the district Personnel facilities and the budget so with that I've including my reviews again you might recall that we've used the majority of that funding or we allocated individual HVAC upgrades to make it safer and improve the air quality and most of the buildings classrooms and so tying that back to learning Factor has already been allocated might be a difficult um and not one that we at work would be a moment and attempted to so I think it's just important to know who the parties are in that conversation and kind of the photos further comments or questions yeah um but um if as you mentioned the supply chain issues and the preparing tunnel the process comes consistently gone up even though it's literally happened coming down the last few months um is there concerns and about cost overruns or the costs number between more now than what they were looking three months ago and then if so is there [Music] to come back foreign other questions or comments operations awesome well thank you for agreement okay for Community average engagement uh I'll just make a few comments on behalf of the committee Movement we did discuss what came out of uh governments there was agreement generally that we needed to free up some of the members time to start to tackle the new issues regarding new work Community workers activities and generally the conversation is in support of meeting less frequently and continuing we're asking um [Music] no I'll agree with you and I'm actually looking forward to the new committee build um to focus more on Athletics clubs um I think we've done an excellent job uh with our Outreach I think Dr Freeman has been doing a fantastic job in his own right of reaching out to community members working with families working with Community leaders so I think we're right on track with what we were hoping and expecting out of that committee now it's time to sort of switch gears a little bit and focus on some other areas position makes sense any other questions on community engagement the winner wouldn't want to land yeah I think we're going to do it in the next Community cycle I'll probably go back and I'll revisit the account we'll make sure that it's in there and should you keep me honest do we have any updates on the scesc um another precipitation was for about the Architects what they're doing is they are it's a proposed Supermarket career lab renovation where they will have the actual um chakra update they have to be showed there so that they can prepare and serve food um they have it really is insinuating their life skills program they um Instagram they're also fully districts and we came in touch with case managers to see what this what district difference to be far and then trying to just adapt to those [Music] new members who welcome the reporting school districts so it became involved it was very Church Somerset Hills Warren chapter school district and each had members who were sworn in and it was just kind of reiterated that the money that they get is generated through Services they have no taxes they also went for grip and were super important provides cans and security the special transportation numbers that's a lot but you know you get to all different auditions they also talking about the food programs that were coordinated and they served 120 to 160 students daily usually ideas and the community courts were going to finance what they were having funds Transportation just renewal of different routes of sun um and the personality um wouldn't have job descriptions 11 in the staff two resignations and inspectants for teachers assignments they went over some policies and just approval and kind of uh abolishing some that still had to be um in the handbook so that if anybody refers to them say yes but that was the sunset um there I think last time too I mentioned that Don of US Mobile Library it's still there there is um an article that is going to be coming up soon like within the week and it's a wonderful program and um that's just about it excellent thanks to any questions for Sue regarding the SCE that's a great summary of the meeting I also attended as the representative all right foreign [Music] would you like guys like to come down so you can see the presentation and not get blinded uh yes we do have slides similar to the tentative budget adoption we will have abbreviated presentation welcome to someone comment down because you're followed by a board deliberation and questions just to warn you I'm turning that projector back on so [Music] you guys can feel free to stand goes also robotics dropped off these lovely keychains that I am very jealous I do not get one of them they're a little robot keychain so um do you want to use the microphone from here and the clicker how do you want to do this right here is perfect all right I know just need to click okay [Music] sadly just red lasers [Music] okay uh good evening as as mentioned a few minutes ago we're very pleased that the county office has approved the very comprehensive budget submission that we sent by the deadline and they have approved bound Brook's budget without question without exception so this was a unique process for developing the budget Dr Freeman joined us in July and he evaluated programs and and all of the school instructional programs and identify the need for a new budget vehicle to meet the needs of a comprehensive education which we offer in Bound Brook and that is called zero based budgeting it involves eliminating the previous traditional way of budgeting which is putting a percent on top of what you had before and instead developing an entirely new budget from scratch and it is a very Democratic process that involves contributions from teaching staff members principals supervisors and um and assistant superintendent and we believe that this budget is like a custom tailored suit that is really going to serve the needs of this District very well in the coming school year so the final budget adoption is exactly the same as the preliminary um and again the beauty of this which is a unique process is the zero-based method which we'll get into a minute and the only significant change to any estimates that we had in the tentative budget to now is as Mr zubko um indicated with the health benefits the tentative budget had an appropriation estimate from our broker of a 3.95 blended increase in the health benefit costs and that would be an increased cost to the Board of Education as well as every employee who by by negotiation agreements has to contribute to health benefits but we were successful with the help of our broker negotiating a zero percent health insurance premium increase for next year so everybody's rate will be exactly the same and there will be not there will not be another dollar of Appropriations needed for health benefits other than to cover new staff and certainly again I would like to thank Dr Freeman for his Innovative style and method for the development of the budget and the strategies that we implemented Miss Fisher for all of her curriculum and instruction expertise all the principal supervisors directors and teachers also thank you very much to the Board of Education members who were very supportive through the whole budget process and especially the operations committee who represented some preliminary topics about the budget um most noteworthy being the seven million dollars of capital outlay construction projects that are included in the 2324 budget and we were very fortunate that the state of New Jersey came out with a new program called the rod Grant programmer they'll reimburse school districts like Bound Brook 40 of the eligible costs for construction upgrades and it's mainly for the shell components of the buildings which we have a number of projects that are eligible boilers bathrooms and and we'll get to those in a minute and a special thank you to the central office administration um School administration District supervisors teachers this was really a very Democratic as I said collaborative effort and a lot of hands went into its design the goal of the budget process was to develop a budget that supports an educational program that meets The Learning needs of all students while getting a strong consideration to fiscal efficiency and the impact on the local taxpayer this budget does not use or or appropriate any banked cap where the Board of Education made a decision before to budget for less than the statutory limit of going to cap we've left that money to expire and that's out of respect to the taxpayer in the previous boards um directives the mission statement District goals are all incorporated into the design of the budget board goals District goals vision mission if you're not considering those with the design of the budget you're you're missing the point key budget considerations Bound Brook is growing we have increased enrollment we have some beautiful school buildings that have been maintained but because of their age require a little more upgrades in TLC New Jersey student learning standards student performance data is one of the areas that we really wanted to push the needle on with this budget student teacher ratios and a tax impact on the community the executive summary and by the way all of the budget information much more than what is required is posted on the district website and I would strongly encourage everybody to take a look when you get a chance we have 37 projected additional students for next year we're going to allocate an increased amount of money toward program and instruction we have accomplished that with this budget expansion of curriculum programs and Staffing to broadly improve student performance in all areas budget for capital outlay projects taking advantage of the rod Grant Pro program where the state's going to reimburse us 40 percent off the project costs budget for inflation we're hitting some areas of the budget with estimates from vendors where things are considerably higher than last year contracted busing is one of the big areas as well as cleaning and maintenance budget to cap meeting the needs of student growth this budget goes to account but does not exceed cap by using Bank cap and the budget has been professionally constructed to afford every student an opportunity for an exemplary education by well-trained committed staff and a safe and secure environment opportunity is made available through a comprehensive curriculum which offers diverse course offerings and co-curricular clubs and activities we believe that our budget process continues to be more efficient as evidenced by a successful County budget efficiency review in January last year the budget was 3.4 million dollars under adequacy which is a state model it's a hypothetical concept of what it should cost to run a hypothetical School District and with the additional spending that's committed in the additional resources we've cut that under adequacy number to 1.5 million here's the budget creation timeline it starts with the board discussion on the budget philosophy what are our goals what do we want to really focus on this year with the budget enrollment patterns and projections reviewing staffing needs budget development budget defense rounds Governor's budget address comes and then they award state aid 48 hours later we adopted a tentative budget unanimously by the Board of Education and tonight is the final step which is the public hearing and again you could read um all about what was one of the nicest aspects of this budget which was Dr Freeman's contribution of zero based budgeting and there's also a comparative chart showing the traditional budgeting method and how zero-based really has a lot of advantages it's a lot of work it does not have to be done every year like we discussed at the tenant of adoption but this really started with um started from scratch where does the money come from 58 of revenues come from state aid only five percent from federal aid 4.6 from fund balance that's an area where administrative Lee we can control spending in the previous budget which carries over as a revenue source to subsequent years budget local taxes is 26.68 that's lower than average miscellaneous revenue is up to 5.33 we're doing everything we can to invest any available uh cash into CDs which are now are earning over five percent and there's a couple handouts showing all of the different categories of Revenue that are in this year's budget and I'll leave those for your review the general fund tax levy is at cap and that starts with last year's general fund Levy there's an automatic adjustment for health care costs then it's inflated by two percent compared to last year's 2223 cap our tax levy is increasing 588 000 and again no prior year Bank cap was needed or used one of the big contributions as far as revenues was the additional state aid that Bound Brook receives it was approximately 5.4 million dollars above last year and that may cause a lot of folks to salvate at the opportunity to spend that extra state aid but when you consider as Dr Freeman rightly said a lot of bound Brooks programs have been impaired previously because of underfunding that's why we're one of the beneficiaries under S2 and we're getting more money now this budget is helping us catch up with spending that could not be possible in previous years and fortunately there's one more year of the implementation of S2 and that's next year so we can anticipate probably an uptick in state aid next year as well depending on state revenues key facts on state aid there's two big types Equalization Aid which is designed to support a District's adequacy budget and also categorical Aid which is designed to reimburse districts and encourage districts to be efficient in certain areas including special education security transportation and a few others general fund state aid again is 58 of our revenues that's a double-edged sword with S2 we've done very well but um you know in recessionary periods where state aid is cut and that could happen even after the state makes an award to a school district and you base a budget it could be a challenge and that's one of the reasons why is Mr Januzzi said we have every intention of of of refilling the reserve accounts on the balance sheet to make that a little more healthy in case of uh unfortunate times that may come with a recession here's a comparative chart on the general fund state aid you can see the equalization Aid is the largest category on the top and then the various categoric leads that we're eligible for state aid again increased 5.6 million twenty percent increase over last year where does the money go over 50 percent goes directly in the classroom with program and instruction Appropriations capital projects is growing because we have seven million dollars of new Appropriations to keep the investment that this board and previous boards has made in your facilities alive there's another schedule available for appropriation detail again that's on our website if you want to see it and what drives spending it's enrollment this is the number one area that that pushes the needle on spending and you could see how Bound Brook is one of the few districts that is actually still growing in enrollment and and to be proactive Dr Freeman and the Board of Education recommended a demographic study which we had in a demographer is a someone with a specialized degree in enrollment projections helped us to determine that we are going to continue to experience enrollment growth in the district and that's helping us plan for future facility needs what's included in the budget certainly there's inflation hitting our out of District special education Transportation Bound Brook is a walking District because of our two mile two square mile geography but special education students are still required to be transported and in most cases that's contracted with as Miss uh as Hyde said the Somerset County Educational Commission walking through the schools with Dr Freeman and Mr Molina our facility director we identified a lot of areas here that we feel were crucial to upgrade for next year number one bathrooms we have a few bathrooms here that although they're still functional go back a number of decades and are in need of replacement we have boilers that hate our schools that are from the 1970s extremely inefficient if they're on off type Oilers and that leads classrooms to be incompatible with temperature and opening of Windows and so on we have spoilers that are proposed to be replaced in this budget 40 of which state is going to reimburse us uh the track is going to be replaced and that's going to complement the beautiful upgraded turf field that we invested in last year the field house roof and the Press Box roof is going to get changed and Mr Molina had offered some good ideas for the use of the the uh the darker brick that we talked about before perhaps being used on the field house or other areas in the district they will not be wasted staff and curriculum there's a number of new Staffing positions that we'll get to in a moment and this District commits heavy resources to the classrooms and to additional Staffing here's some fantastic pictures of the programs in action in our district what programs are in the budget we went over all of these with um Miss Fisher during the tentative budget adoption what new Staffing positions are in the budget I believe there was 14 new positions altogether District behaviors most of these are in special needs and instructional areas okay here's a list of the Capital Improvements 1.8 million for bathroom upgrades at the high school in Lafayette 2.7 million for boiler Replacements at the high school Lafayette Lamont and Smalley and that's net of the state's contribution architectural fees related to that is still an estimate High School track and fences is being replaced copy machines for instruction High School field house roof high school gym floor District instructional teaching monitors security cameras new phone system seven almost seven million dollars at gross cost which we estimate the state's going to kick in about 2.4 million leaving 4.5 million to be budgeted this budget is more efficient than ever and we have two schedules that you're welcome to take a look at that show all of the shared service agreements that we have at the municipality with our receiving District southbound Brook all of which create efficiencies and spending and help the district to keep the resources in the classrooms and then finally how does the budget conclude on the tax rate the factors that influence tax rate are state aid and and that we're having a very advantageous year with an increased award fund balance applied rateables we talked about this a little bit last time raidables are the aggregate neck valuation taxable property assessments that are updated every year in Bound Brook they share the municipal and the school district tax letter so the more readables that are coming online the more homes that are coming on the more commercial rateables the uh the less of a rate that everybody has to pay because there's more people sharing in it and of course student enrollment and Appropriations influences the tax rate and we're very pleased that with all of the additional spending that's incorporated into this budget with all of the additional Staffing with the confidence that we have that we're going to improve test scores and push the needle on performance that the tax rate that the community is going to contribute is actually decreasing the school tax rate last year was 1.278 it is dropping to 1.210 the average assessed home in town of 390 700 will experience a school tax decrease of 264 dollars next year so you could say this is almost the perfect budget it provides so much additional services and programs it's going to drive performance in the district it's going to continue to invest in facilities that belong to the community and it is most uh respectful to the taxpayers and again we want to thank everybody who contributed to this budget because there was a lot of hands involved especially Dr Freeman who brought some novel ideas from the beginning and now we will hold the public forum section anybody from the public who has any questions at all about the budget is welcome to come to the microphone and and ask you questions then we will have a board deliberation on the budget and take a vote thank you thank you yes thank you before we go oh don't forget your pins on the way in oh yeah sorry I'm okay bring them up this is cute I'm just gonna bring them up last time I looked there were none but I will double check are we on open to the public or anything [Music] any comments or questions regarding the audience thank you Mr here it's okay all right so for the resolution is published so the resolution so at this point we are up to deliberations from the board any questions or comments um so now we are open for discussions um yeah I just wanted to complement the whole process of it you know I I've seen it from the industry aspect of it and this is just so well it is yes Mr Dawson yes this casino yes Miss Lima yeah yes it's hard yes yes motion passes unanimously thank you the board of education for your support all right we're up to item number 5.1 which is open to the public for agenda items yes anybody from your room all right item number 611 it was all the development for the education upon recommendations approve the minutes for the following meetings and motion thank you second thank you Mr Zucker any discussion yes yes Mr Vollmer yes and Mr Jersey yes motion passes yeah I was thinking I feel like I missed on my knees but I haven't enough but I don't believe Elizabeth it was like that's a long time ago [Music] thank you that carries the silver up to item 7.1 be a resolved with the superintendent recommends for approval the resolution District personal resolutions also thank you second second thank you mess up any discussion yes I have some questions um the amount of conferences are looking at I and there's some that are absolutely you know incredible but then there's some that I'm noticing that include overnight lodging for personal continuing education credit I don't think that that's in my profession I do not ask my employer for personal education credit to go overnight Center so I'm just a little confused and concerned in relation to the the amount of Consciousness thank you the one wrong for foreign [Music] I also attend the National Association sometimes Iowa State but the only thing that we're allowed to ask for is for like the conference fee but any like other additional like Thrones or other stuff but not it's not a group only for like conferences [Music] I think for seven points 7.8 summer work I see social workers and student assistant counselors and so I was wondering what that is for eign what they're doing or what the summer programs were good the workers okay that's for uh assessing data from this year from all the different programs um for example the survey that we just conducted at the middle school and high school that's for assessing data and for our program planning for next year and this is only at the high school or like district-wide they're all different required of employees no but the data that they're assessing is at the high school level or is District One thank you with the follow-up on that the resolution is for 20 days at seven hours a day says 140 hours for five people to look at the data so I'm gonna go back to that um so had the things done with less people in the past or is it always that number or is this like something new that you're doing no that's it's been uh that's been ongoing so I'm going to summer the the department has grown up but is everyone so everyone in the department is given that uh opportunity for summer or or is that that is that something that you were able to do with less people okay so it's not regardless of how much work you have if everyone works in the summer 20 days uh regardless of the data that you have or the amount of everyone is given 20 days into summer everyone's given the opportunity to not everyone not everyone takes us up on it so I think the question that we're really trying to get an answer to has to do with the number of hours that we're projecting to employ for the summer versus the amount of work that we actually expect has to be done over this so has there been any thought given to matching those two things up and do we feel that they're roughly yeah we talked about it as a cabinet okay let me get you specific numbers okay so for clarity we are withdrawn item number 7.8 for now and 7.24 two four is that correct what's the question I believe it is so as we're deliberating here just note that those things are now off of the role and if we were to vote they are not being voted on so are there any other items with questions or comments here you're not going to do a more apologies Mr Community Friday pick up on I just want to make sure there was a couple conferences with overnight travel was 7.24 the only one at the board table I mean I think we should look at all of them and that's just my personal information I'm going to be honest I'm gonna use this amount of conference requests for overnight travel it's it's a lot and I I would like to see more uh so so what you're saying is to take all those that would reliable as one member of the board that's what I'm saying but the rest well so would it be possible for us to take a roll call on that action alone so that we can get confirmation with a majority of the board members feel the same so at this point then we're going to act on emotion which I'm going to ask the sponsor that we table any items that require overnight job can we list which items they are I mean so yes [Music] like 7.22 there's also mileage reimbursement for future deliberation so I don't think we have to sort out the individual line items we're just going to go home right off okay so so far just two two two four that's all that I see as well before we move on does anybody else see any other items that would be subject to this all right so uh motion look like this is up close seconded by uh yeah 7.22 7.24 7.8 that is correct Mr Bob yes this is awesome yes this casino yes Miss Lima yeah yes yeah it's high yes Mr Bowman yes um table entertain a motion to improve I believe discussion is open so we'll close discussion with a roll call vote on the remaining provisions yes sir motion was moved by his foul seconded by its high Personnel answer the exception of 7.87.24 7.22 Mr doc yes Mr Dawson yes yes yeah this is up yes hi yes Mr Bowman yes yes thank you we are up to item 8.1 resolve the development report of Education approves the resolutions as outlined in District education resolutions this is 8.2 through 8.17 I have a motion motion thank you Mr zip for a second thank you discussion I don't know if this falls under this but I know the calendar for next year is only the 23-24 calendar so while it's on here um one thing that I don't remember I know was being discussed that I don't know if it ever was actually upon was maybe staggering star cards did that is that ever still happening okay wasn't sure if that was an hour later okay any other questions or comments I have had uh one question it was just that there were a couple changes um one in when the conferences were for the low grades The Exchange convention to the following but I didn't have any understanding that was due to um quotations yes virtual conferences so that the isn't as much [Music] as a struggle as it's been you know we'll be able to be very flexible in terms of what we had a great idea the other thing um the days what is the um [Music] and if if somebody is built in okay you know thank you sorry any other comments or questions please Mr battle yes this is awesome yes this casino yes double aspects so yes within us yeah it's high yes Mr Bowman yes yes foreign Mr Mass yes Mr Dawson yeah yes Miss Lena yes yes it's high yes Mr Homer yes Mr Jersey yes most impressed thank you we are up to other matters to come before um do I understand correctly that our student representative question for Market care for this evening I'm just checking in with you to see if you have you'd like to share with us uh yes so I've been talking with uh Mr Smith recently and we've conducted a student climate interview not a survey right now it is tentative it is not finished all the way but I do have some some information that I have to assume [Music] sort of thing applies to if the students arrive late to school and for safety around the school buildings um the majority of the students um voted like as a three out of five which me and Mr Smith have discussed ways to possibly like you know like make the students feel more safe same thing with plastics or curricular some ideas that we have will work to um start the winter track and field team again since there is a lot more interest into the sport now with the spring and we've worked a student council to have a much more to just like change the structure of like how it works and everything like that and we also have other plans but I do not remember it after the top of my head uh yeah that's it that's a good start thank you very much we appreciate the research obviously it's difficult for us so probably more difficult for us to relate and represent the student body than it is so the direct feedback as well appreciated all right for the board members of your open for new business anything that's not on the agenda this evening um for the Committees because this really would officially add that new committee or do we not need to do that and vote on it I believe we've actually already created that ad hoc community so it exists we just haven't started meeting got it and so it's just that our descriptions we'll begin in the next conversation okay good question is there anything uh thinking about our training from earlier tonight since we really have to move May and June on evaluations is there anything that we need to do as a board before our main meeting to get that going do we know or from what I gather Dr Freeman has to move first right and get everything to us yeah thank you okay it's a fair point though in terms of planning for schedule clearly we have two meetings between now and the end of the year what it would make sense to me for us to do is for us to have our Executive review of the Consolidated responses during our main meeting and then have our meeting with Dr Freeman an executive during the June meeting in order for us to do that we would have to start the process and get to a timeline where we have an opportunity to consolidate pull together over those things prior to the Navy I think what that really means more concrete terms is we've got a couple of weeks and so we'll want to kick that process off as soon as we can be possible you know obviously get Dr Freeman's conflict compile his information the most thorough of everybody at all and then for the board members to be prepared to ask someone so it is in order for us to stay out and then that date of this any random date I think what I'm actually proposing is that we do it in conjunction with the aortic scheduling board meetings okay so I believe it's um Monday the 15th so we would do adult Board review without Dr Freedom during that meeting and then shooting force that first Monday our committee meetings next week or the weekend to the first Monday of every month [Music] that's where I am it must have been sent out because you and I both have it listed on the yeah thank you and in terms of training do they have one again May 4 board evaluation we haven't set up anything official with her going forward no so I would say I would say that these evaluations probably cause us to run a little long in May and June that we hold here till July because we are ahead of schedule repairs for the year um all right any other new business to be all right here and now we are now up to item number 12.

brookfields approved its calendar in December of 2022 a new Fairfield approved discount during January 2023. I would appreciate it if you consider improving calendars much earlier in the future years seems like it would be a small easy change but I recognize that I'm unfamiliar with the intricacies of how a board of education functions is this something that we need to come from the community as a request from parents or is this a change that your board could be found I would be happy to have any efforts towards making a small change if needed I think it would benefit a lot of families in our district to have that information earlier so grateful for any information you could provide me with regarding the approval process for the district calendar thank you very much [Music] Jessica Heron Peter started okay just if you could stay at your last name when you come up my name is Jessica Grace um I'm a teacher at Rogers Park I also have two children in a at aisle Texas um I've been at Rogers Park for 15 years and I recognize that what I'm going to request may sound a little absurd but I need my water turned back on I'm a science teacher and in about around November they turn our water off and every year it's a battle to have it turned back on and I recognize unions and the it's not my job it's not my job it has to work through five people I've spoken to my principal about it several times she escorted that information to people it's supposed to go to I have a list of six people I think it's supposed to go to to get a water turned back on um it's very difficult to Be an Effective science teacher without water we had chickens we're trying to hatch they need water we have hydroponic Road Towers these a ton of water I've been hauling five gallon buckets of water all winter from one side of my school to my classroom because nobody will turn on our water so I'm just requesting that perhaps if there's a way to like streamline process I'm not asking for like a huge maintenance request here just it's like someone to turn the knob on in our classrooms which I know is not I don't know appears but I don't know where else to go I've asked everybody and oh yeah thank you thank you okay so no one else has signed up on the list if there's anyone else that I wish to speak they could come forward now and just take their name at the microphone once twice oh thank you so much hello thank you good evening good evening thank you for allowing us to see what we have the Alternative Center for excellence creativity day was organized by Diana dinardo DJ snozz and Lee's staff students chose guest speakers through the morning session season 4.
