That's a pretty solid conference. I think we have an interesting matchup though as you look at Pine Creek. They've got a great backcourt. Basically, they start four guards. So, how will Rampart handle the back court of Pine Creek? How will Pine Creek handle the big guy? 6'9 KJ Stewart in the middle for Rampart. And boy, how good does this place look? Pine Creek went under a renovation before this year. And that gym just looks fantastic. Beautiful new floor here at Pine Creek. The jump is up and Stewart wins it for the Rams. And up with it comes Shepard. He'll go into the corner and they'll get back into their offense with Sanger up top being guarded by Fam. The Rams work it around as the man-to-man defense of the Eagles. Inside, blocked, getting his own rebound. Cormy and there's a foul called inside. That's going to be against Westfall.
Pton Westfall picks up his first foul. First team foul of the game. Colton Joerger got that block clean. And then on the rebound attempt, Westfall picks up the foul. Shepard inbounded now. Goes inside, knocked away from Sanger. And again, we're going to get a foul called. Or no, it just went out of bounds. My bad. Rams with the ball. Shepard try and look inside. Gets it outside to Cormy. Sanger will set it up. The imposing presence of KJ Stewart inside. They work off of him. Shot up and in. And a nice move right there by Brandon Sanger. First bucket of the game. It really was great job. Look at all the traffic. He goes between four white jerseys off balance and gets the first bucket of this ball game. Now Pine Creek on offense looking for a cutting loafy picks up top. Joerger down the lane challenges Stewart.
Sends it back outside. First shot is missed. Rampart with a rebound. Sanger working on Fang. Goes around him and now passes it back out and it's run down by Cormin. Rampart. Nice move inside. Cormy left hand off the glass. Four nothing Rampart. These guys might have been a little bit excited. They saw the women with the upset over Pine Creek. Yeah, absolutely. All four going to the basket, too. You got to like the way Rampart is getting inside on Pine Creek. Up top. Joerger now. Loafy cutting and they'll work it for Grant Wilkinson in the corner to Fan. Max Loafy nice job changing direction in the air. First bucket for Pine Creek. Rams quickly back the other way again. Sanger driving inside. Stripped by Fam. pushed quickly up to Loafy. Loafy has Wilkinson and he gets it off the glass and in. And we're quickly tied at four. Max Loafy eighth in the conference in assists. There's a great dish right there. Sets up Grant Wilkinson. His first bucket of this game. Sanger up top. Gets a pick and it's knocked away out of bounds. Good job by Payton Westfall to come out play a little defense. [Applause] Elijah Thompson now working on Lafy up top to Sanger on the side. Hon Creek fans say defense. They get it in to Stewart. He misses. Joerger almost had the rebound. And we got a foul inside and coach Roush is up quickly for Pine Creek. Wants to get Jake Blunt into the game.
[Applause] Called that foul on Kenny Fam. Yep. And that's exactly why coach Roush wants him out of the game. Didn't like that foul. Shot up by Sanger. Won't go. Good box out by Pine Creek. But somehow the Rams get back in there. We got a foul inside. Let's see if the basket's going to count. I don't believe so. The foul is on Grant Wilkinson and two shots will go to Kale Cormy. Knocks out. Cormy was going up for that shot when he was fouled. And then Stewart put back the rebound. No basket by Stewart. The foul was called prior to that. So Cormy at the line. Cormy shooting two. Misses the first. And in comes Cameron Horton for Payton Westall. Don't want to show my age and call him Paul. [Applause] Second shot for Cormy around and up. Nice rebound by Joerger. He pushes it up the court.
Gets it over to Loafy. Blocked inside by Stewart. His second block of the game. Quickly back the other way. And what hustle by Max Loafy to try and get that ball away from Elijah Thompson. And they hold up a big Max Loafy head on the sideline. Camera's on the wrong side to see that, but it's something to see. Let me tell you, they do it right in front of Max as well. Yes. Shepard crosses over Wilkinson. Gets it to Thompson on the side. This time inside Stewart, easy touch. Can't get it to go. Quickly rebounded by Cormy and they'll come back outside. Rams working it around. Sanger goes baseline. Stewart inside. Soft touch gets it to go. Six to four Rampart. Wow, Stewart's such a big body inside there. Nice pass by Sanger to set up the big guy. He's missed his last two shots.
He's been up so close to the rim. Just hasn't gotten him to go down. But KJ Stewart picks up one right there. Joerger out top now to Jake Blunt on the side. Work it up top. Horton gets it to Wilkinson taking his time. He'll dribble calmly out front now. Nice pass out. Lafy for three. Got it. Max Loafy. The crowd loves it at Pine Creek as they take their first lead of the game. Nice pass by Grant Wilkinson as he sets that whole play up. You can see the over the head pass and Loafy just drifted into a nice little open spot. Hits the open three. Back the other way comes Rampart. They'll work it inside. Stewart pass it back out. Thompson. Thompson goes baseline. Quickly over. Shot up and three. Back the other way. Colobby Shepard. 97. Back and forth we go. Loafy hits one at one end and then Shepard comes back from the corner.
Running a weave on the right side. Get it to Loafy. Knocked away. Loafy picks it back up. He'll take another three. Same spot this time. Misses. And Rampart comes back the other way and over passing Cormy. Pine Creek will get the ball back. Elijah Thompson, the senior guard for this Rampart team, and he taps his chest. He says, "That's my bad. My bad." As he throws it over the head, trying to make something happen. Just a little too too far for Cormy to catch up to that pass. Jake Blunt brings it across the timeline. Joerger thought about the three. Works inside against Stewart. Knocked away. And we're going to get a foul called. Pass the ball. [Applause] Foul is called against Brandon Sanger. His first. That's the first team foul called against Rampart. Three for Pine Creek. Loafy gets the ball inbounded. Comes to Blunt up top for three.
Won't go. Rebound. Corminant. Gets it out to Thompson. And the Rams come back. Rams with a two-point lead here early. Get it to Stewart inside. Nice turnaround. Shot goes KJ Stewart, the 69 senior. Here's a good look at it right here. The catch was terrific and the spin on the baseline. Little fadeaway. Stewart has four. Max Loafy to the rim. Won't get it to go. Cormy with a rebound. Elijah Thompson. Works around a screen from Stewart. Quickly outside Sanger. Sanger will put it up and in. Brandon Sanger. Rampart on fire. This looks kind of like the ladies game. It really does early. Sanger. Nice job of getting down to the block. Then he pulls up and created a little bit of separation with the hand. Goes up and hits the baseline jumper. We'll call that one on Elijah Thompson, his first. And Wilkinson, a great shooter, hits the first one. Kenny Fam comes back in as Harry Gry. Joerger and Loafy come out. They get a blow. Wilkinson second in the conference in free throw shooting, 85% on the season. And well, you can take a look at that shot. You can see why he shoots it so well. Nice follow through as well. Two for Wilkinson. And in comes Co Cole Bowen, the sophomore guard for the Rampart Rams. And Pine Creek has backed up defensively here. They'll stay in that man-to-man. Pick out front for Thompson. Nice movement to Cormy. Cormy, they really use Stewart inside as kind of a screen.
Cormy goes right around him and scores. Great job by Corman picking this basketball up. Look at the jump stop and maybe a little extra step for Cormy, but he gets the layup to go. He's got four. 15 to nine now. Pine Creek Wilkinson being out front. Gets it to Blunt. Nice catch. Jake Blunt hounded himself. Bowen is going to get called for the foul right there. That's going to be excuse me into the game now comes Marshall Erlin and he comes in for KJ Stewart. Called that foul on Thompson. He's got two already in this game. Shot of Westfall. Won't go. Rebound almost pulled down. Cormdy to the ground. Get it up to Sanger. Easy bucket. And the Rams stay ahead in this one. 1711. Sanger's got six. And entertaining basketball so far, Dave. Boy, that was a fast first quarter. That horn went off and we we weren't even sure what a great basketball game we have. Wilkinson's got nine already. Make it 12. Tie ball game at 17. Grampard comes back the other way. Erlin in the game. They work it into Bowen. Quickly out to Shepard. Shepard has it knocked away. Fam comes away with it. Get it to Wilkinson. Wilkinson on the run. Takes it in. Nice job keeping his body between himself and the basketball to get it to go over Luke Pavlica. Time out Rams as the Eagles have scored the first five points. Grant Wilkinson has scored the first five points. Joe Rous has got to like what he seen. He's got 14 of their 19 points in this game, but he hits the three. How about the layup though in transition and Brian, like you said, protecting that basketball.
He had a Ram defender right on him. He jumps into him with the shoulder, pulls it back with the left hand, and then lays it up softly. So many times you release that ball with the left hand, it comes out a little too hard. Great shooters touch. Here's a good look at it. There's Wilkinson protecting it high off the glass. Gets it to go. Had a little something to say to Pavlica there as he came down to something like how do you like them apples? Something right. He's earned it. He's got 14. I think Grandpard's seen enough of Grant Wilkinson. He had 20 in the first time these two teams met met about three weeks ago already. 14 in this one. He averages 15. I think he might get it tonight. [Applause] Gidry comes out and coach Roush has a little talk with Perry Gidri on the sideline. The junior forward. Wilkinson brings it up. I was going to say Wilkinson has slow start to that first quarter and then all of a sudden he's got 14 points right shot up by Hatchel can't get it to go. Erin with a rebound, but Fam is right there to tie him up. We got a hell ball, but it'll go to Rampart. But a great job by Kenny Fam. Absolutely. And you you look at Marshall Irwin 6'4. Kenny Fam about 5'10. If you're a big guy, that's why you don't bring that basketball down when you're you're 6'4 and you bring that ball down to your waist.
You become about 510. Sam tied him up. Yep. Oh, we got a foul. That might be on Bowen again. Cole Bowen going to get called for the offensive foul there. That's his second. And quickly, five fouls against the Rampard Rams. And back in comes Elijah Thompson who also has two fouls. He'll come in for Bowen, but Thompson, the senior, 5'11 guard, as also KJ Stewart, the senior. Wow. [Music] The paper says 69. He He just looks gigantic out there. He is every bit of 6'9. Here's another look at that foul by Bowen. They called him for an offensive foul on that. Leave that set. Wilkinson. Joerger open for three. Can't get it to go. Everybody jumps, but the Rams come down with it. Get it to Elijah Thompson. And we got a foul on Kenny Fam. That's going to be his second foul. And suddenly lots of people have so a little bit of foul trouble here.
Kenny Fam calling this one awful tight there. As you saw the foul by by Bowen. There was contact. Two guys ran into each other. And then that time Kenny Fam threw his hands up in the air. He thought he was okay as did Joe Roush, their coach. But the officials did not. Cormy shot up. Got it. Kale Cormdy, the sophomore, plays like an upper classman out there. Gets a nice touch and the Rams tie it up again. Here's Fam at the top of the key to Westfall. Nice move inside. Tries to go high off glass. You can see how Stewart changes shot though and the Rams come away with it. Thompson looked for Stewart. And we got an offensive foul. Great job by Westfall taking the charge there. And that foul called on Luke Pava. Pavlica's first of the game. And yeah, great job by Westfall just holding his ground as Pavlica came in.
He went with the left hand, put it on the floor a couple of times and then right at the last second, you could see him put that shoulder down. Westfall sets up, draws the foul. Westfall and Fam come out. Loafy and Horton come back in for Pine Creek. Joe Roush really moving him around. Get it to Joerger. Knocked away by Stewart and it's going to be off of Pine Creek. Ram basketball still tied at 19. Joerger not happy with himself after that play. Great hands by Colobby Stewart though. He got a piece of it and then right at the last second he swatted it right back off of one of the Eagles. Rampart gets the ball. Thompson up top to Sanger. Sanger drives. Nice stop. Pull back. Beautiful play by Brandon Sanger, the senior guard. Sanger's got eight tonight and every one of them has been within about six feet of the basket.

He's trying to get Stewart away from the basket and doing a good job of it. Joerger now in the corner. hits a cutting Horton and we got a foul inside and that's going to be against the Rams and it should be a shooting foul. One and one. That foul is on Kale Cormdy.
