Got the next one. He's 100% tonight. Yes, he is. And we're 100% entertained as it is tied. Andy Armadillo in the house. Looked over. Thought that was my broadcast partner for a second. Out on the side. Shepard. Back up top. Corman. He'll pull it out. Patience now by the Rams. They get it inside. Stewart nice move. Drop step and he gets hammered as he tries to go up by Joerger. Who they call? They're going to give it to Horton. Joerger. Loafy. They were all in there. They give it to Joerger. Joerger. Yep. And that's the sixth team foul against the Eagles. That's his Jagger's first. And Stewart to the line. Good look at KJ Stewart. Misses that one. I thought we might see a little bit more of that of Rampart taking advantage of that size they have inside. And that time they did get Stewart posted up on the block.
a good power move as he went up and drew the foul and we'll see if Rampart goes back to that tonight. He's having a rough time though. He's missed several puppies tonight. Misses rebound Rams and another foul. This one on Are they going to give it to Wilkinson or Horton? The foul is on Horton. Horton and Shepard was fouled. I thought that was the seventh foul, but it was just a team sixth foul. So Shepard trying to get it in. Gets it into Thompson. And there's the seventh foul as Lopey pushes in from behind. Thompson now will go to the line. Little premonition by you there, Brian. Yeah, I think so. Six fouls, seven fouls, but boy, calling this one awful tight that time. Thompson went down and not a whole lot of contact, but Loafy gets his first. Both teams in the bonus right now and almost five minutes left here in the second quarter.
Thompson gets it. 511 senior guard. Lots of seniors on this Rampart team for coach John Stlair. Makes them both. 23-21 Rampart. Grant Wilkinson looks for the call. And the Eagles will try and work it around. Nice job inside. Wilkinson back outside. Joerger. Nice fake right there. Won't take the shot. Gets it to Loafy on the side. Now Joerger's set up for three. No. Rebound. Sanger and the Rams. Quickly back the other way comes Rampart, but they'll pull it out and set it up. Sanger working against Horton and over to Cormin. Back outside, Shepard and Thompson inside. KJ Stewart working on Joerger. Joerger's already got just one foul and he does a good job there as Stewart misses again. Joerger spins and gets it to Loafy. Loafy has Horton with him. He'll take it himself and miss it. Thompson comes back the other way. Coach Rous not happy with what Lafy did that time.
Get it on the side. Sanger Cormy Mice tried to get it to Shepard Wilkinson the steal but he was out of bounds. It'll go back to the Rams and coach Roush is going to get Max Loafy out of the game and bring Perry Gidri back in as well as Payton Westfall for Joerger. And I tell you what, Joerger is doing a yman's work tonight against KJ Stewart. He He really is doing a terrific job using his body down low, getting good position, forcing Stewart to take shots he probably doesn't want, and he's missed a lot of those short ones. Perry Gidry on KJ Stewart now. Wow. Perry Gidri, it says on my sheet is 6-3. He does not look 6'3 against the 69 KJ Stewart. One of those numbers is not right. We don't know which one, but one of them is not right. Cormy pulls it out.
Gets it to Thompson. Doesn't want the three. He's hounded now by Westfall. Kicks it in the other corner. Sanger makes a nice move. Shot up and go. Brandon Sanger's on his game tonight. He's got 10 tonight. And that that's that's the furthest one he's made. Little baseline jumper. And boy, Brandon Sanger's got a good quick first step. He a little head fake one step and he goes up with that shot and he's knocking him down tonight. Pine Creek will work it around. Horton to Westfall. Inside out. Hatchel thought about it. Gets it to Gidri. And there is Wilkinson won't go. KJ Stewart just picks it off the rim and the Rams will come back the other way. Cole Bowen out top. Cormminy. Swing it to Thompson. Thompson with Westfall right there on him. Cormy tried to set a pick and Thompson will now get it tried inside to Stewart.
Stolen away by Hatchel. Good job defensively by Blake Hatchel to step in front and get that ball. Coming back the other way. Wilkinson on Stewart. Can't get it to go. Stewart gets the rebound. So tough to get anything inside when you've got the big 69 guy with the long arms altering so many shots. He's blocked two already. Shot from way downtown. Won't go this time. Wilkinson quickly back the other way. Try to get it to Hatchel. Gets it over to Gry. Nice job by Perry Gry to finish that time and the Eagles are within two and we got a timeout called on the court. But look at that nice pass. That was a great feed. Nice job by Gidri going up and I think that's what Joe Roush wanted on the last time when Loafy came down. They had a twoon one. Loafy went up for the shot.
He didn't like it. took him out of the game. And that time they do get numbers going back the other way. One quick bounce pass and Gdry gets the layup. Coach Joe Roush talking to his team there. You mentioned this the 23rd ranked team in the state. Both these teams looked like they're pretty should be pretty highly ranked, but we mentioned Rampart a down year at least record-wise. Well, and they lost a lot of guys from last year's team. They got to the Sweet 16 last year. The biggest loss Dawson Carper, the big 611 guy. He went to the University of Hawaii. They list him at 7 feet there. So he grew an inch by the time he went over to the island, I guess. But uh Carper 20 points per game last year. They lost four starters from that team. So they do have a lot of seniors, but not a lot of guys that saw a lot of court time last season.
We'll have to see if KJ Stewart goes to Hawaii because I got a feeling he might gain three inches. Sorry, folks. He just looks imposing. That's all I'm saying. Grampard working it out. Cormy Pavlica nice skip pass to Bowen for three. Cole Bowen, that's why he's in the game. He's a sharp shooter for the Rams. Just 57 and he gets this shot off really low, but he gets it off quickly. Right on the money. Blunt back in the game. Gry now working the right hand side. Gets it to Blunt. Nice pass from Blunt to Horton. Not sure how he got that through there. Here's Hatchel. Free throw line won't use it. H Orton shot up won't go. Rebound. Bowen. Cole Bowen with some quick moves out front being guarded by Blunt. Sends it back out to Cormmony. Can't get it to go. Get it to Bowen.
Bowen on the baseline goes down and they call an offensive foul. against Cole Bowen. That's going to be his third foul, I believe. Three for Bowen. And you look at the fouls for that back court now. Elijah Thompson is going to replace Bowen. Thomas picked up two quick fouls in this in this game. He went out of the game. Now Bowen goes out with three. Thompson is right back in. So Blunt will inbound the ball. Wilkinson back in for Pine Creek. Can't expect him to get back on the board here pretty quickly as Rampart with a five-point lead as we come to the end here of half number one. Blunt to Hatchel. Blake Hatchel almost loses it. Gets it back and he's hammered from behind by Cormy. And that's going to be the ninth foul of this half on the Rams. And Blake Hatchel will go to the line.
Cormy picks up his second. And boy, Hatchel was was in some trouble. There's a good look at John Sinclair, the head coach of Rampart. He didn't like the call, obviously. Well, he didn't like the fact that he made the foul, saying, "Think not a good time to make a foul and let them shoot with the clock stopped." And they had Hatchel in trouble. They had the double team set up. Just didn't have to foul in that situation. Hatchel misses. Rebound. Get it to Thompson. It looks like the Rams and John Sinclair want Nope. He doesn't say one shot. He says run the offense up five. Thompson out with Fam on him to Pavlica. Pavlica will get it to Shepard. Shepard across the screen. Gets it to Cody. Cormy inside. Gets it by Gry. Rebound. Pine Creek. They've got two seconds. One second. Horton puts it up.
Won't go. wide left and that's the way we end the first half. Rampart comes into Pine Creek and they have a five-point lead. 28-23. Don't go away. We'll come back with some highlights at halftime. You're watching District 20 basketball on [Applause] It's halftime at Pine Creek High School. The Rampart Rams, just like the girls did, have the lead on Pine Creek. The favorite Eagles 28-23. Brian German alongside Dave Toller. And Dave, this was a fastmoving basketball game. Oh, it really was, Brian. Fast moving and well played. And you can see the fans here in attendance. Great atmosphere here at Pine Creek. Certainly was uh plenty of student bodies of both of these team and Brandon Sanger had the hot hand early on for the Rams. That's Cormmin going inside. The Rams took the early lead. Yeah, they didn't even see the hustle right here. Here's CLY to Bowen.
Great ball movement. There's Sanger once again getting up to the bucket. The Rams had a big lead until Grant Wilkinson decided to start shooting the basketball. He came in and put up 14 points rather quickly. Yeah, he sure did. You can see he's got a beautiful shot. But there's Sanger getting to the basket once again for Rampart. Yeah, there was nothing slow about this basketball game. The only slow thing was Andy the armadillo as Sanger comes back, hits another bucket there. He had 10. How about Wilkinson with a nice pass to Gidri, but the Rams have maintained it. Cole Bowen hits the shot there and they have a five-point lead at halftime. Kind of unexpected, but with John Sinclair, you know, he's a good coach and he can have his team ready. They're ready tonight. Absolutely they are. They're matching the back court of Pine Creek.
They play four guards. Pine or Rampart's done a great job with that. Mostly from Brandon Sanger who's got 10 points to lead this Ram team. And KJ Stewart not maybe not making a huge impact as far as the score sheet is concerned, but his body inside is giving the Pine Creek Eagles troubles and uh Colton Joerger has had to guard him and it's really taking something out of Joerger. Joerger usually a good three-point shooter. You can tell he's using most of his energy and effort on the defensive side. He is, but he's using it very well because he's doing a great job on the big guy, Stewart. He's got he's only got four points in this game. 28-23. We'll be back with the start of the second half with third quarter action. Thanks for tuning in tonight. You're watching District 20 basketball on 20 TV.
[Music] We're back in Pine Creek High School just about ready to start the third quarter of this one. Pine Creek will come back with the same five young men who started this basketball game. Max Loafy, Grant Wilkinson, Kenny Fam, Colton Joerger, and Peyton Westfall. I would assume the Rams would do the same. Yes. As they take the court. Yep. Brandon Sanger, Elijah Thompson, Kale Cormy, KJ Stewart, and Kobby Shepard. And they ran well in the first half. We'll see if they can keep it up in the second half. Rampart trying to pull the upset against the 23rd ranked team in the state. Been a great series between these two teams. As you look back the last 12 years, it's been mostly dominated by Rampart, but every game has been within about eight or 10 points. As we get a good look at the Ram logo right there earlier this season, Pine Creek won that game by eight.
They'll have to come from behind to get it tonight. Pine Creek starts with the basketball. Joerger up top. Get it to Wilkinson. Nice step back. No, what a beautiful crossover. Can make the shot though and Cormdy gets the rebound for Rampart. Woo! That was a nice move by Grant Wilkinson. Thompson now up top to Shepard. And a steal by Wilkinson. So angry about missing that shot. He wanted to make a move on defense and he did so. And he gets fouled coming inside by Cormy. Cormy going to talk to the official. Didn't like the call, but he gets the foul. That'll be his third. Yep. Third of the game. And boy, Grant Wilkinson's impressive. Not only can he shoot it, steals, assists, does it all. Payton Westfall outside. Can't get it to go. KJ Stewart with the rebound. Thompson out front. Gets a pick from Stewart.
And another pick from Stewart on the roll. Couldn't get it to him. Shepard now. They'll work it inside. Stewart is there. And they're going to get Joerger with the knee inside. It's going to be Colton Jagger's second foul, I believe. Yep. Well, just not a whole lot you can do. Colton Jerger, they they list him at 6'5 and again, he doesn't look 6'5 next to KJ Stewart, but just trying to do everything he can. He gets called for the foul. Rams with the basketball will take their time out front. Sanger working on Fam. Nice behind the back. Gets it over to Shepard. Shepard pulls up. Can't get it to go. Rebound Kenny Fam quickly up ahead to Max Loafy. He'll run it down, take it inside and go. Max Loafy, the 5'11 junior for Pine Creek with the first bucket of the second half. There's Loafy picking up.
It was a great pass by Fam. And you see Loafy can elevate. Got the bucket. Back to live action. Thompson misses. Back to Loafy again. Had to move. What a move by Max Loafy as Shepard was coming over his back. He saw it and got the bucket. Time out Rams. What a beautiful move by Max Loafy. Oh, he sure was. Look at the no look bounce pass by Wilkinson, though. Up and under by Loafy. He's got four quick ones in this third quarter. Nine points in the game and a great start to this third quarter for Pine Creek. Yeah, Joe Roush was a little angry with Loafy. Took him out a couple times in that first half, but uh you got to be happy with both those buckets here in the first. Absolutely. And and you you look at Pine Creek, we talked about their guard play.
Well, they're getting it all from their guards defensively. It was Fam, it was Wilkinson, it was Loafhy getting it done. And here's a good look at the Rampart Rams bench. John Sinclair called that quick timeout. They had a five-point lead. It's now a cut to one. And I'm sure he wants to make sure his players don't turn the ball over like they did here. Exactly. You know, Pine Creek turning up the pressure. We saw that in the girls game. We did before. It was Rampart early. Pine Creek turned up the pressure defensively and we're seeing that here in the boys game. Pine Creek coming out down five getting a couple of steals, couple of baskets in transition and the timeout call by John Sinclair and Rampart. Yeah, we got to take care of the basketball. Let's set up our offense. Let's go back to getting good shots and see if they can get Brandon Sanger going here in the third quarter.
He had 10 in the first half. Yeah, good look at the table crew. Welcome Pine Creek High School. That's where we are tonight. That's right. Happy to be here. And the Rams will start with a basketball. [Applause] Thompson gets it in the corner to Shepard. Shepard will drive baseline quickly inside. Stewart. Joerger's right there trying to play him tough. And that might be the third on Joerger. AJ Stewart keeping his cool. That's always tough for a big guy because you're going to get hammered because you're taller than everybody else on the floor. Now, Max Loafy being talked to as well as Elijah Thompson, the official saying, "Hey, let's let's calm down, guys. No reason to get crazy here." Colton Jerger's third foul, though. Coach Rous leaves him in for now. up by Cormy. Can't get it to go. Lope with a rebound. Quickly up ahead to Westfall.
He'll take it in. Oh, tried to dunk it. Couldn't get it to go. Corminy comes back. Joe Rous does not like that. Payton Westfall missed the dunk. Cormy stolen away by Wilkinson. Quickly ahead to Joerger. Joerger with Sanger on him. Westfall can't come up with it. Look at the hustle. Love this District 20 basketball. They're going at it. Everybody on the floor trying to get possession. Oh, you got to love the hustle here. Both teams, the pace of this game, up and down, guys diving on the floor to to save loose balls. What a what a game we have here at Pine Creek High School. Joe Roush had a chance there to speak to Payton Westfall. I caught a couple of the words. Basic layup is what he said. Was a one-way conversation. Yes. [Applause] Elijah Thompson back for the Rams. They have that one-point lead.
