and sometimes these meetings go on into late evening and then Patty and people like you have to go to Long Beach and it worries me and I feel terrible inside when these meetings go on unnecessarily with so much chatter because I just don't think that people that are sitting at this table live in other people's shoes and understand how important it is to these days go into nights these are 12-hour days with commute time and so with that in mind I would just support um I just think we do have to have a termination time well I'm not saying I'm saying we don't we shouldn't have a time set because at times we do have to go past that time I said that they should be any presided over in an efficient manner okay how do you interpret that an efficient manner would be not sitting around talking and telling stories and and pontificating on something that we stick to the point and we get the meeting done on a in a timely and efficient manner and then board reports very very quick yeah they get it out I've tried them where we've been over here for 45 minutes telling our stories and if we take if we keep it down to a couple minutes a piece I mean the audience is out here like I said they're on their own time they're they got here early in the morning and we want to get them home so if we do it efficiently we'll get them out of here as as efficiently as possible thank you as well proposing okay thank you so that was just an information item next consent calendar anybody wishing yes before you move did you make this suggestion in writing right here okay you got it okay I sure did um consent calendar anybody wishing to poll an item I'm pulling 10.28 AAA and 10.29 okay Motion in a second all in favor say aye aye opposed okay 10.28 AAA and 10.29 second Motion in a second all in favor say aye aye opposed abstain one so it's four zero one thank you moving on to number 11 superintendent and staff report thank you president I have a quick report I do want to acknowledge that the auhsd is represented by three amazing students three of 17 who have been appointed as national student leaders on the national healthy youth School youth Council sponsored by Kaiser Permanente their role is to address health issues facing young people across America and the three students are luqman Muhammad of Oxford Academy Michelle Guzman from Anaheim High School Alyssa mudang from Magnolia and I had a chance to talk to the students and they're pretty sophisticated leaders addressing food insecurity food deserts things like body image on social media and as it all relates to academic stress and dealing with the mental health issues not only in auhsd but Across America so we should be very proud of these three of 17 who were selected nationally so these are will be seniors next year Rising seniors that's right amazing all right thank you news I do have a quick report so I had an opportunity recently to go to Surrey Canada with 11 other of our colleagues to learn from the Surrey School District uh four other directors went with me and and seven of our teachers and I'm proud of the work that we got to do there with them they're a forward-thinking district their Providence through the ministry their competency base which is skill based so they don't have the standardized tests that we have in our country they they're very skill based so they have a Capstone so we got to learn and work with their teachers uh and and in fact our teachers got to co-plan units that we're going to co-teach with their teachers now that we've lived in the zoom World our students actually last week through ocals horizontal got to through summer programs got to interact with students from Canada in a co-taught lesson and then in the fall there's gonna be some work done around science and sustainability with some of our science teachers and their science teachers so a lot of good things came out of that experience and then for our team we got to spend some time with their research data and evaluation team knowing that we're collecting a lot of data with our community schools and just work that we do in general how do we know that what we're doing is working we got to learn from their team how they collect data how they utilize it and how they communicate in a way that's user friendly so more to come from that experience but uh we had a great time in Canada with that team and learned a lot great glad to hear it no report no report no yes so I just saw a short report tonight so I did attend the Cypress Police Department open house a few weeks ago I also attended the city of Anaheim state of the city I met with a lot of folks from um city of Anaheim that day and then finally just this past uh past monday um Patty Nelly our executive director of facilities and as well as our board member um Mrs Piercy and um and myself we were at the Cypress city council we presented on the Cypress High School athletic fields are there so they they asked for us to to give them a report on what's Happening um at Cypress high school so we were there thank you thank you I just wanted to recognize that this is the first year that we are officially uh celebrating Juneteenth on Monday so the district will be closed so I just hope everyone has a good day of reflection and celebration on Monday thank you okay so I had the privilege and opportunity to attend a conference in Philadelphia Community School and family engagement conference this past week there was uh 13 of our all 13 of our community school sites were represented as well as a couple of our other sites that are we're hoping that we'll be receiving some grant funding in the near future there was over 4 000 Educators that attended this conference in Philadelphia this National Conference and obviously we we were exposed to some great Keynotes a ton of different workshops ranging from how to address our chronic absenteeism and attendance issues Through The Eyes of a community schools model to curriculum in the classroom and looking at how curcum in the classroom and the importance of things like culturally responsive teaching and the role that would play in in the classroom as it uh you know and how it fits in the community school model we we have a survey that is currently out to all of the folks that attended and we've ask them to in that survey include best practices that they learned or gleaned from any of the workshops they attended to upload resources and then also indicate their thoughts on on the conference itself it was worth attending why or why not obviously we we had a lot of folks attending and and spent some categorical funding on this so we want to know was this something that was is worth attending in the near future do we send a smaller team do we not go at all so we'll be going over all of that data in the coming weeks a few people are on vacation so we're hoping to get some some some good stuff out of that and look at the best practices that we gleaned from that Workshop one of the things that I really appreciate about the um the conference itself is the opportunity to come together with folks from different sites continue to build the relationships Network get to know more of each other as we know the importance of those relationships and and just do some you know some really some some thinking around how to continue to build cohesion within our community school model with both uh the roles of each of our folks and how that ties into the importance of what we're doing in the classroom not just the wraparound services but then what's happening in the classroom one thing that I just wanted to point out one of our Keynotes talked about the importance of culture as a big part of the community school model and how we service our families our students our staff and and really centered around the word love right and he mentioned um how love he has an acronym that he learned from I'm not remembering who he got it from but spelled Luv and we have to just continue to listen to our staff to our students to our community understand and validate so Luv love so listen understand and validate thank you okay that was 12.
well that was before all of the inflation and stuff um he won't give me a number but I'm I told him I said I'm you know at this point with with all of the things going on I'm going to be real happy if we have six or seven or eight houses but I'm also thinking we have such good Community Support that excuse me that once we break ground and people see we're really doing it that we're going to have some some other folks Step Up and donate either some in-kind things and so everything that's done is donated in kind frees up dollars that can build another house and so uh you know so we're really we're really looking forward to that whole groundbreaking thing because then that will show us who are the excuse me who are the Community Resources who will step up sorry it's all right so we'll see anything else on the den project what does it chokes me stand for I'm sorry and that's a great question District employee neighborhood huh thank you we want it to be a neighborhood you know are there going to be single story or two single story also mm-hmm and they're and the plan that they're laying out you know that they're developing for us is for 20 houses and an eventual Clubhouse and so part of that groundwork that gets done is because they're not individual Lots and you're not acting you know so you can't say that you're doing preparing each lot but what they're doing is setting it up so that what I call it is a pad so there will be the sewer and the water and everything right to each of those lots if you will everything ready other than a foundation to build a house for all 20.
now we go on to 13 board reports Miss Guerrero yes thank you I'll do a quick report tonight as well I'm just highlighting some of the events that I attended in May I attended the California Civic learning students showcase uh recognizing Sycamore Junior High School Gilbert High School and Hope High School for being recognized as the California democracy school I attended the Capstone interviews at Sycamore Junior High School the classified employee of the Year Awards and then the cape seal of Excellence recognition and I am high school who was recognized as the first High School in the state of California to receive the bilingual education seal of Excellence I also attended the retirement T employee celebration then I'm high school dla banquet and the UCI school of education Gala event um recognizing our superintendent as the outstanding Community partner of the Year award and then um one of the goals of mine when I was on the board was to visit our high schools before they left for graduation so I completed all of my site visits I completed a Walker Junior High School in Kennedy High School over the last two so I just want to take the time to thank all the principals for the warm welcome um and to Paulina who helped set up those sites and then lastly we held our graduations in May so congratulations to the class of 2023 um it was my first graduation season and it was amazing to see all of our students and families and teachers and staff support for them and I want to give a shout out to all the staff that worked graduations um from picking up the chairs to those that helped us line up to the assistant principals that lined up the students uh just thank you all around to all of staff that made it a very successful graduation season and that concludes my report thank you [Applause] okay um I attended the insurance meeting this month and then I went to Western High School on to meet with their measure H follow-up and here are the comments of the faculty and whatever and they went over what is going to be happening at Western um then I met with uh not met with but I was at a breakfast meeting with Senator I mean with assemblywoman Quirk Silva then later in that day I went on to a visit at orangeview Junior High School from Senator Newman and he was there quite a bit of the day and that was very interesting had a really good they performed really well for him and did a bunch of really neat stuff and then I went from one room to another with him and got to bend azir about some ideas which was kind of fun I not that I ever do anything like that but I was giving him some of my opinions as usual okay and then later that afternoon I watched the budget revision meeting through csva it was online uh the next week I went to the Lexington choir show Sherry patinga does a phenomenal job with these kids she's got this humongous humongous group of seventh and 8th graders that do a really cute job of Performing and singing and you've got the choir you have the guitar kids you've got the um you know all the musicians and it was just an excellent job um and then I attended the retirement t for our uh staff that are retiring this year and then started the um oh I missed the classified Awards I attended the classified awards that wasn't online was it you said online Brian I'm like not online no we actually had the awards here um and then we started graduations and we I attended hope at the k-pac and then Oxford and each of the days and not every one of them but a lot of them and it was always I love graduations and then uh the last thing I did besides the lcat meeting was the Buena Park meeting where we had our liaison meeting with Buena Park and that was quite interesting it was in informative and I love the positive comment that Jeff I mean Jim okay I can't remember his last name the parks and rec guy he's you know he made a comment about wanting to work with us the school district if you know in any way that he can so that was very good thank you Ms Smith well um I just would like to reiterate that the graduations were remarkably well done and the entire setup over there at handle with the flowers everything was just beyond imagination how it was humanly possible to pull that off and then get parking in people in and out for each graduation ceremony and um I just want to tell you um not many people here but I am so grateful for the work that these all of you and these people put into running this school district it is a huge job and our young people have suffered tremendously from this covid and all of the mental problems that they're having to deal with in their lives and what the teachers are having to deal with it's not easy to teach when a lot of children are just not doing well and it's beyond tragic nobody could ever imagine a pandemic and how it has hit this world and all of the economics everything that we do in our lives has been touched by this pandemic how you drive a car how you get gasoline to a pump how you drive a truck how you run a school how you run a hospital so I'm just here to say I'm grateful for this country I'm grateful for wonderful people that do hard hard work managing the money and what we pull off and I just want to thank all of you for your time and just being here found Trejo thank you I attended my ROP meeting retirement T the classified employees of the Year all wonderful events put on for our employees and the Civic learning student showcase at the Nixon Library was exceptional I'm just so proud of our last schools getting to to be able to do that and kudos to Hope School um they had to be put under the same grid the same requirements as all of our other schools so I'm just so pleased that we have 20 schools now represented in Civic learning engagement and that's just a fantastic accomplishment such a short amount of time I was able to go to or had an opportunity again to go to the Opera with the Gilbert High School students in LA and I think they are going to have another opportunity in the fall so um I'll I'll hop on board for that and also I am proud to say that I attended all of the graduations and just from start to finish again thank you to everyone and I was able to thank everyone publicly so I hope they heard that we were so great thankful I'm appreciative to just just knowing that everyone that signs up for that they really do it they do it on purpose they love it every year they they have great respect for our kids and reverence in doing um you know all the tasks and everything looked just absolutely gorgeous I think um you know no fault last year or the year before but I think this year's was actually the best ever with everything that came through I don't think there was a glitch in any of our any of our ceremonies so congratulations and Kudos that's just a huge undertaking but it's such a culmination of what we do in our district and um and we did it proud and that's my report thank you thank you well you you said only one ROP meeting we had two ROP board meetings which we both attended and I attend a second uh ball uh Capstone interviews and I attended the student film festival at catella which is a really treat to see what our students do in the way their creativity uh Kennedy choir show always a great performance put on by Miss Janae West uh for she changed I'm sorry Sergeant um classified employee of the year the event is always enjoyable event to see the people that are recognized attended the cabbie seal of Excellence award at Anaheim High School uh retirement T is always a pleasure to hear what people are going to be doing in their future their next life away from work uh the PTA honorary service award event I attended that unfortunately I only got to 11 graduation I did get to go to Katella because I was out of town at that time but there was I have to ditto what everybody said it was a great event uh everybody put in a lot of hard work from our Securities uh staff all the way up to the superintendent everybody in between that's uh did a great job and I I say congratulations and thank you so much for such a a great event for our students and parents um I attended a senior award tonight at Kennedy where they recognize students for all the scholarships they have earned uh I also attended Mr matsuda's award outstanding Community partner award at UCI so that was a very nice event to attend so congratulations Mike for earning that and with that advanced planning future meeting dates our next meeting will be July 20th and uh any suggested agenda items I do I would like to put out the thought that perhaps maybe we should go back to the old um former's school year where school starts in September and ends in June and I think that because that was done for the AP tests those don't are not functioning as it used to be and I think that to keep our air conditioning going in August is stupefying and if we start in September and end in June like most other schools do I know that in the newspapers I've been watching all the graduations that have just come into reality in the last days so that's number one and number two in Dr Billings was here uh we bought that bus out there and it was used as a mobile Library to go into the community and it sits there and I'm hoping maybe somebody can come up or we as a group can come up with some meaningful uses for it because it just sits there and we have community members that might be able to get some valuable services from it I don't know but I throw it out for whatever it's worth I want to pipe in on the first suggestion for the calendar year and what I would like also if we're going to discuss it I would like to see what the year or the calendar year is for the majority of the school districts around us because I am I've seen the same thing every other school has been ending up in June and you know from the first week to the second week to you know almost the third week this is a very mild time of year we don't need air conditioning we almost need heating sometimes in June and yet when we go back August 1st almost we're or the seventh we're boiling Okay and like I've said before I think we need to as a school district realize what we need to do as part of the whole climate change and do our best where we are not utilizing air conditioning and all that electricity and you know in the month of August when we could start in September where we're going to need it but at least it would be one month instead of two and continue through into June which is very nice and pleasant almost raining okay and then our students wouldn't be uh you know let's say sweltering out on the on the field in August so anyway I'm also with this and and I'm not through well I'm not giving up I'm not sure that it's that it's an item to be agendaized yet I think maybe we need to ask the staff to to come back with some uh research showing you're talking about the climate the temperatures uh what are the pros and cons for what we're doing now or doing something changing down the road so right and also in part of that um I would truly like to see a survey of our St our people and our employees in the district as to what they think about the calendar uh according to what I've heard uh asked to a survey but it never really revealed what their survey you know showed except oh well they like it well you know we've how many years have we done this now it's going on 10 years we are it's taken several years enough for us to to get to that I know it takes time to change I'm you can't do it on the dime all right but I'm also saying but I believe what we thought before things have changed and we need to change as well we can't discuss this it's not an agendized item ladies and gentlemen I'm the gentleman I was just saying that I agree with her so can uh can we direct staff to do some research thank you okay can we have a motion on any any other items okay thank you one and all so I have a motion second and a second all in favor say aye aye
okay so great questions okay I did want to report to you a bit on personnel we still have lots of vacancies um and we do not have many applicants at this point um I think I don't even think Jen's getting her usual 10 to 20 to 30 Filipino applicants at this point because of the time you know that would take them to come and um and then even more significantly to us right now is we haven't we've posted the position for Diamondback principle we have no applicants so it's even tough these days to get administrators not just not just teachers but we keep working at it so it's got the ads out got the stuff out just wanted to kind of be up to up to speed on that okay that's all I have for miscellaneous is there a place where we as a board can go and find out how many vacancies there are at each School when we lit so I'm sorry when we list them on the website and on talented and when we list them anywhere we list them by as the district as opposed to by sight um because we hire them as a district employee and we want to be able to move people if we need to and that and and if we select somebody to interview we do group interviews so that they don't get called to be you know this principal doesn't call and ask and have an interview and then two days later another principal calls and has an interview and and that kind of thing but I do have org chart I do have an org chart that I keep um you know that I keep try to keep up to date right now it's a kind of a mess because we've had so many changes but um you can always ask me and I'll let you know what we've got by sight box Creek was full until yesterday day before yesterday and then we had somebody change his mind so so we're just one short though at Fox Creek just one that's pretty amazing yeah it's one of the PE teachers one of the one of the PE teachers can you call up the mno budget for me for a minute I need you to refresh for me okay what the percentage over here on the Co in the on the far right inside me uh okay so if we look for instance at 6100 40 60 100 salaries and we look over on the right side that shows that what we have left the 15.2 percent yeah what we have left yeah but keep in mind this I ran this I think I ran this Monday and we have run a bunch of payroll since Monday so yeah so if I ran it right now it would not look like that but that's what that number is yes that's what's left yeah that's the remaining and it gives you an idea it gives you it gives all of us an idea as the year goes along um you know uh 12 months so you know you're looking at eight percent or so per month in each of these dropping um and um uh so you know that kind of gives you an idea of where we are in the budget year and if we're if we have budgeted appropriately or not so when we come up to the top oh please don't ask me about the top because I don't understand the top I would be totally honest with you that the part that is the top which is the funding yeah um uh having things serious is why all those are in red and why yeah why they're bad if I don't understand it so the key thing for me million dollars worth of property tax is outstanding uh which line are you looking at property tax no I think that that means that we we have that much I think we it says we received that in uh in May okay at the top I think the things in parentheses are a positive as opposed to a negative but am I going to swear that to you no because when I took my one and only accounting class that usually indicated a deficit of course it does of course it does but I will tell you we haven't we're we're not in we're we don't have deficits we're okay we're fine now um when you see the June report it might actually look like we have a deficit because we will not actually receive our June allocation from the state until July so obviously by the end of June we've run our you know we've run our money down quite a ways and um uh and uh you know we don't get that final we don't get that final bump from the state until sometime in July and that's one of the reasons that we don't finish our annual financial report until August this is because we're still paying invoices we're still doing some things like that to wrap things up so in July we may see the parentheses disappeared then we would know what they mean okay and Lance if you'll scroll down to the bottom of that the part I pay attention to right now is we have 16.2 percent of this year's budget at least as of Monday okay 16.2 percent that we you know that um uh that we had not spent so um you know we and that gives you a little bit of an idea of what our carryover may be um the calculations I've done to give you a proposed budget tonight uh shows that we're carrying over just a here over 3 million and and that's because that was the money I held out for AEL but then you also know that I said to you we held it out we don't have to worry about it and now I'm actually really happy that the legislature already said they're you know they've already overridden the the AEL from for fiscal year 24.
so I could actually plan a real budget but because you know I said that's how I'm why I'm committing to salaries and benefits and those things for employees with a whole lot of that with most of that three million that's rolling over so um do I have a limit on how much we could roll over there used to be but there is not anymore no no at one point it was like four percent yeah so it's you know and I and I think they finally figured out that people were you know they were just spending the money to spend the money so that you know well that's not good planning that's not good fiscal planning it's not good fiscal management and you end up with a whole lot of things maybe that you don't need uh as opposed to you know being able to use things uh uh appropriately and effectively and and um you know manage manage your Finance as well I got a couple questions when we start talking about budget but I just really wanted to know about that percent code right but that's what I thought it meant yeah and then I was having trouble with the parentheses at the top I have trouble with that obviously that's okay because I have trouble with that but it for me it is when I look in when I look in visions and when it shows me that the information that you see here at the top is in alignment with our budget and our and our spending I you know it's like okay I'm not going to worry about that part okay okay then I won't worry about it okay anyway thank you absolutely any additional questions for our superintendent hmm nobody wants to ask her where she's going on vacation where he did oh okay all right sure you told us not till April anyways yeah board member updates um I personally want to thank the district for allowing me to go to Flagstaff to not only enjoy the weather but to get a lot of good information I appreciate that um Sheila and Barb went with me and or I went with them however you want to say it we're there together we did not hold hands but we were there um ladies do you have anything to say it it was a very good conference uh good speakers the keynote speaker was great on Thursday and but he was he was very good and stuff and Friday and the information they gave us it was the breakout sessions the strategic planning sessions and different things like that they had it was uh and they had stuff break up for Rural Arizona's districts to talk just about problems in rural Arizona yeah rural Arizona schools and stuff the whole thing was a very good learning experience and really appreciate it thank you very much yeah I agree and it brought to light a lot of similarities uh throughout the state of what just not what we're dealing with it's not just us and um kind of made me look that we need to have a bigger vision of how we're going to fix things not just on a local level but what I did figure out was that we are on track for a lot of that stuff that they were bringing up that other districts aren't doing we can check mark those so you know like I think that we are actually a little bit ahead of the game and thanks to Carolyn thank you the strategic planning that they brought up I was sitting there oh yeah that's yeah we did we did that we did that we did that and it was you know Grace like oh you know we are going along the right lines of stuff for our street plan that we're working on instead so yeah it was very good that way sometimes that's the best part of conferences you know sometimes it's not the new things you learn it's the affirmation of what you're already doing that you don't get from any place else because you have no other person or nobody else to have the communication with necessarily to know if you're kind of in the same place or a little bit ahead or or that kind of thing so I appreciate the feedback that you're giving us that helps helps us stay on track um and and know that we're on the right track as opposed to going off somewhere else so Fred was there a virtual training I believe that there there was um well you didn't I believe that I attended that one yeah before we did yeah and um what was it March yeah maybe yeah I believe it was in March but yeah there was a virtual thing did you get to hear the the or did you get anything on the keynote speakers you know I remember back to your nose yeah go back and look at my notes I've got a good memory but it's really short [Laughter] so what was interesting about him is he equated later leadership to the to blueberries to Blue the blueberries we learned that today too yes um and it was very very interesting and I do have a book and I will share it with you okay I did get his book yeah the keynote Spearfish name was Fred Fred kitchen kitchen Fred cornelia's kitchen and he said imagine growing up using those initials and his mother bought shirts for him one year that had all his initials oh no yes he didn't make it through Junior High very well did he but he was he was very entertaining and very enlightening and stuff it was very good all right do I have a motion to accept the consent agenda I make a motion because except the consent agenda as presented I'll second that motion Charlene Diaz all those in favor I'm Melinda sabroski hi Charlene Diaz hi Fred Rushton hi Barbara zerzicki hi Sheila Barnett sting stuff tell us about the child care center because this is one of the things we were talking about at the conference that nobody else seemed to have at the elementary level anyway we're the envious oh yeah yes a couple couple of the districts we were sitting with and talking about and they said hmm maybe that's something we need to start thinking about we went so okay well if you don't know her Michelle liondecker is here tonight she is the coordinator uh Tammy's been working closely with her Kate's been working they've been a really good team at Coyote trying to make this all fit together um and I did I did give you the exhibit of the calendar of of when we anticipate this being open I will tell you that July 5th is a dream it probably won't happen but I suspect that we will have employees starting on that date because even if the center itself is not open I'm sure there's going to be some training and some things that need to happen at the center but we really are looking for as early in July as possible and so I have some other good news for you so um as out of mno and capital we have spent and are spending almost zero really the uh the three rooms that we've designated at Coyote uh are we're all in good shape the one thing that needed to be done and our plumber could do it was raise the sink in the room that will have the infants because they don't want now keep in mind coyote was designed and built for pre-k through second grade so things are a little lower yeah yeah so the sinks the sink needed to be erased so that if somebody's holding an infant they don't have to bend over and do whatever at the sink so uh and other than you know patching some holes in the walls and painting the walls and doing some things like that that's it um and part of the reason for that uh the main reason for that actually the total reason for that is that the preschool has um currently a couple of really Hefty grants one is called the child stabilization Grant and one is called hqwell and I don't remember what hqel stands for high quality Early Learning there you go and that one is a humongous Grant Tammy wrote for it last year it completely set up one whole classroom bought everything for that classroom they the company came in and set the classroom did ever did everything but but that doesn't didn't even make a dent in the amount of money um and uh so Tammy was on the phone particularly before Michelle was hired talking with the managers the state managers of those two grants and said we're looking at putting a Child Care on the same campus with our preschool and is there any way that we can use any of this grant funding for the preschool and they said it's another preschool so uh the grants have paid for the particularly a stabilization Grant is paying for the reworking of the front drive for the gates and the entry system to get into the child care center for a nice new wall around the what we're calling the baby playground for anything related to that and at this point Jen how much in furniture and supplies and are we talking 150 000 already [Music] struck off to you I think would just hit like 120 000.
yeah oh because we have to have what do we have eight cribs eight Crips uh well we would like to get licensed for capacity so I've been purchasing for capacity because we don't know when we'll have another windfall of money like this so we're purchasing expecting that we'll grow and expand as the need you know arises from the staff in the district so we purchased 11 cribs so that we could get licensed core 11 in the infant room and then we plan to go Max Capacity depending if they they Factor the square footage and take out the furniture so right now without the furniture it's hard for me to predict what the remaining square footage will be to maximize our space but we'll at least make ratios for one full age group in each with I suspect enough that if we grow that we needed two full-time teachers in each of those spaces we would have the um facility space to be able to do that so you know you think Furniture I mean tables and little chairs and that kind of stuff but it's like all of the instructional age so we're not talking about textbooks and those kinds of things we're talking about doll babies and and toys and toys toy kitchen I mean we're talking about stuff yeah right stuff and uh and so she's been having fun ordering and Jen's been spending the money you know authorizing the money and whatever but the nice thing is that it's coming out of those grants and so we don't have to find it in any of our other budgets now when it's up and running the Child Care Child Care Center has its own budget it's over here and it's an independent so it's independent from mno and capital um but right now we have no Revenue in that budget so that's why we've been that's why we've been trying to find money elsewhere uh to do things and so when we talk about our m o budget in in a few minutes um one of the things that I needed to do was make sure we could pay these people and so I built those I built those positions into the m o budget right now when we get start getting revenue and we have that other budget then we will move as much of that you know as much as those of those expenses as we can over to that budget but we need right now to be able to pay people and um so it has a temporary effect on on our m o budget and and that and that kind of thing now I will tell you up front that I doubt that this I doubt that this will break even you know and if it does we will celebrate that it breaks even but that's not our purpose our purpose here is to recruit and maintain faculty so and employees you know staff and and that kind of thing now do I want us to go in the red now at some point we may have to consider raising our rates but right now we're starting out with 150 a week that's five days thirty dollars a day and then a 10 discount if a family has a second child or you know 10 for the third child whatever um to give us you know to give us a Baseline and figure out where to start that is less than any child care in town and uh except maybe T-Birds but I think we're running right with T-Birds okay so that may we may adjust that that's where we're recommending to start and um so I'm excited about that um let's see does this calendar sort of coincide with the school calendar it very much does and the reason that it starts on the fifth is because we bring bring back administrators and and off and secretaries on the fifth in the current calendar and then you notice that excuse me after Memorial Day it's light green um because we're not we don't know what that's going to look like at the end of the year those are the three weeks of summer school and so as we get closer to that then we're going to have to determine whether those days become part of you know part of what whether we stay open or not but you will notice that we'll be open every every Friday except red Fridays and we determined that with this rate we wanted to make this as easy as possible for office Personnel to manage this budget because we're not adding anybody to our business office to manage this this budget I mean we're you know we're absorbing that extra thing and it will be payroll deductions so that then falls on our payroll person so we wanted to keep that payroll pay structure as simple as possible so even if an employee doesn't work say on August 18th um the 150 a week that one day that they might not work and they keep their kids home is not going to kill them and we could have we could have set it up for four days a week and then people would have to sign up and pay extra for the Friday well the problem is then we wouldn't know how to staff so I just figured this out that's thirty dollars a day that's right I can't board my dogs for that exactly wait a minute accepting dogs kids might like that yeah that is it might run off the coyote we have a coyote that lives on coyote campus well that's appropriate yeah it is it is appropriate yeah that's all good news thank you yeah so um and then the the other news that we got um because we were not going to go for a des fund Dia Des license because we were afraid that that would then open it to that they would tell us that it would have to be open to anybody who's Des so Michelle contacted them and said this is for employees only can we still apply for Des support on this because we have some employees who qualify for Des we just know that right and so she got word today that um that we can in fact apply excuse me for Des funding and restrict it only to our employees and I will tell you that will help our that will really help our revenues so uh everything that we've been everything that's been coming along about the child care center lately has been good news very good news so um we're pretty excited about that have we made progress on Staffing as far as well we couldn't post the other positions because you had an approved job descriptions yet and they're on the agenda that's right and the other thing is that Michelle had to work kind of on a schedule because if you look at this this is many many days the other thing is we open at 5 30 6 30.
and close at five so that's a lot longer than an eight hour day so trying to figure out how the schedules are and not have anybody work more than a forty hour week and whatever determines how many people we're going to need so um so we're getting ready once you approve the job descriptions to post and then we will figure and it's also one reason that I have not put in this uh in this old business the number of positions I'm asking you to approve so if you noticed in the agenda I said discussion and possible action what I would like for you to do is to authorize us to post at least six positions and then determine as we need to add to that because we know we need two people in each of these three rooms okay so I know that's a little vague but saying six right now is very definite and we can look to fill those six positions and then come back to you with what we think we need if we need additional because of those hours and Fridays are not as long Fridays are only 6 30 2 4.
oh seven to four Friday is a shorter day but still for any employee it would be more than a 40 hour week if we had them working those full days so okay oh yeah that's right so yeah um let's see so yep that's my whole list any other questions about child care well it sounds great I'm excited in Chartwell said that they were preparing yes very so they're going to the formula I don't know what it what do they have to prepare yeah you want to talk about that Michelle because I don't know yes um I have contacted CeCe they are so write down the preschool from my understanding and you know I've only been on board just I think this is my second week and I don't think it's been full weekend um so I hope we don't misspeak without Tammy's guidance but the preschool is already on um the food program but not the child care food program so I've already been in contact with them and also um and I don't want to misspeak her name from the cafeteria no Elena Elena thank you yes there's a lot of new people to meet and a lot of names to know but um Elena has been providing me some guidance there so we were she actually just caught me in the doorway and I said I know we've got to touch base again so our hope is that we would be able to become part of the ccafp program and then they would provide a basic infant formula if there were any special dietary needs the parent would provide that but it may be able to meet most of the demands and then of course they would do um the solid foods once we introduce like jar foods and things like that Rice and and then of course like the Toddlers and preschoolers would be a smaller proportion of what the traditional preschool lunch is right now but they have been very easy to work with they seem excited about the possibility um so I'm not exactly sure what those details will involve yet or what that application or training process will be we were not part of that at the high school so that's a little bit of a learning curve for me as far as how ccafp works it's very nice it really is it's all good news to be coming together it does and and amazingly fast I mean we just started talking about this eight weeks ago I know so I mean this is pretty amazing but I do need you if you would to uh to authorize six positions um you know make a motion and authorize us to post six positions you want to do that now if you would please no that's just job descriptions oh this one is if you notice in the in the uh up here it says update the plans discussion and possible action so I I not the calendar not the calendar under 4.1 under 4.1 over here in the description and at the time that I put this out I wasn't quite sure of our numbers so um but I knew there might be some action here that we would need to do relative to posting positions so I'm I'm asking if you would please authorize six additional positions for the child care center okay so I'll make a motion that we authorize six additional positions for the child care center um that's it that's it is there a second I'll second that motion Sheila Burnett all in favor I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Charlene Diaz hi Fred Rushton hi Barb zarzicki aye Sheila Burnett thank you looks like you got your six positions now you just gotta find the people now you show them to find them yet I think that Michelle's got she's got people in mind I figured she has she has a few years she has a few people out there that might be interested all right item 5.1 proposed budget uh Madam president and board members uh this is the proposed budget and I'm going to tell you it's a rough draft for the budget that I will present that we will post 10 days before the July board meeting that will be the budget that you will adopt to start the year um uh as I said oh and I see some numbers in there some places in there when there are no numbers so under that ADM up there the numbers did not translate in from the other pages so um another reason for it to be a proposed budget those numbers the ADM numbers just give you an idea of the basis on which these other numbers are calculated and so you've got the critical numbers here um I will tell you that the uh first of all the primary tax rate is going down yeah I saw that okay um and uh and then I will tell you that the for sure number for maintenance operation uh budget you see it matches the budget limit uh classroom site fund that one I'm a little iffy about for a couple of reasons one is we just paid uh in in the um in the vouchers you just approved included payment of of classroom site fund amounts out to teachers and uh and then that left us a balance and then I calculated the because they've told us that the amount per student is going up fifty dollars for next year and I calculated that and and so adding the two together gets this two million 202 000 and I will tell you that significantly larger than what we've had in the four years I've been here so I'm I'm not as I mean the calculations are right but I will tell you I'm not as confident in that number as uh you know as I might be and as I will be when we actually when I actually give you the budget uh to to adopt um the unrestricted Capital outlay you can see that it says the budget limit is 2 million two hundred five thousand and that I have one million six hundred ninety one thousand there um uh I don't see a way if you remember when we talked about uh that these are the only two budgets where we can move money back and forth and um so so when you're calculating the when you're using their formulas the state's formulas the auditor General's formulas for calculating how to put your money in those two pots you would think that that formula would say okay here's a total and you can move you know you can this way as long as it doesn't exceed this this number but what I found was that if I increased the the unrestricted Capital number then the budget limit for Capital went up and I'm going I don't quite understand how that works so I don't know if there's an error in their formula or what but it doesn't it doesn't what is cognitively to me here's this total and you can divide it these various ways but it's still this total well that's not what it does and it keeps increasing the other one so anyway that's a little more than you probably all want to know but the Six Million I mean the one million 419 is twenty one hundred dollars less than what the calculation page says for me and I spent about three hours yesterday trying to find that twenty one hundred dollars finally decided forget it for the purposes of this proposed budget I would give you the lower number and find uh find it it's like when we all used to balance our checkbooks and you couldn't find seven cents that's what this is like trying to find twenty one hundred dollars so I will find it but but rest assured it's going to be in the neighborhood of one million six hundred thousand and so those numbers are solid what I'm saying to you might change a bit before we uh before you get the adopted the budget for adoption will be how those dollars get split in these some of these categories they're not going to change very much but they might a little bit and then on page two where you see the numbers at the top on um for the grants and and the federal funds I've got to work on that a bit and then you'll notice what I have highlighted in yellow the staff pupil ratio that's a formula in this because this is a spreadsheet and it's not it was not pulling the data the student count data to calculate the ratio of teachers to students so of course I need to you know figure out what's wrong with that with the formula or where it's not pulling or whatever and I can't I can't put those in I can't just enter a number there I have to let it calculate so um so that's something to do with the ADM number being missing too it could be well no because it happened in the on the actual page the summary is pulls information from two other from some other pages but yeah I could have done that it could have done that as well it could be because that's missing very good point Melinda um so anyway that you know I just wanted you to know that's why it's highlighted is because I know I have to go back and make sure that that gets gets fixed so um I guess I got a question on special ed can you guys move up to sure if you go back you were saying that we have an increased number special ad type student s yes we do that budget at all uh actually uh so you're looking at 200 and 300 for us it's just 200.
um and you notice that the total for that the is two million one hundred thirty three thousand and we're just short of what we were last year this is one of the places where I have to go back and tweak a bit because we cannot spend less next year on special ed then we spent this year that's kind of a because we have more kids or is that just no that's just uh that's just uh you can't spend less okay and um uh and this was an area that I triple checked yesterday because we have had added some special ed teachers teaching positions and some things like that so that will be that will be a section that I will go back and rework it's not off a lot but it is off the the other thing is that yes as of October 1st we didn't have the rush it was November on through the end of the year where we've got we got the majority of the students that moved into our area um or move from other schools within our area so if they're not here on October 1st then the state says at five o'clock at night this is it this is what you're going to get funded for we don't get funding for them it does because it has to do with those counts okay that when I go back you know yeah and the waiting because the special ed kids get weight um so uh yeah um I will tell you there's nothing simple or easy about this process the the thing that that makes it easier is that there are calculation pages that you only see when I run you the full the full budget for you all to look at the 12-page document um where you can actually see how those calculations uh you know how some of those calculations work um because I know it's it's not a big deep dark secret but for most people looking at those pages is like you know looking at some foreign language because because of all the steps um and it just requires lots of going back and double checking and triple checking and making sure um so yeah we have a lot more spend kids and thanks for remembering that Kate because I've had forgotten that piece uh Carolyn that that primary tax rate is that something the county has set for us yes so they have decreased it yes they said it based on once again there's a formula it's based on the um uh the total property valuation for the county and um uh and then somehow or other they calculate somehow or other they calculate that okay and ours ours has stayed fairly low and fairly simple and but the thing is Barb that that that accounts for the part that's paid for that our budget is paid out with County taxes yeah the rest of our budget is paid with Equalization funds from the state budget and um uh and that happens in every District So You Know A District that has higher taxation rate is going to get less money from the state than than we do the idea being that it gets equalized well we all know that it doesn't really but it remember because remember our discussion last month about the difference in those overrides and bonds that the wealthier districts get so those little bands that were in the middle are these things those little bands in those in those charts that we looked at last month are the things that are the County taxes and the state Equalization and then there was all of that other stuff for some districts where uh where the money is based on you know where they get all this additional money based on um uh overrides and bonds because they are tax Rich school districts okay tax through it and then I will tell you that one of the things I'm going to rework also is the average salary for all teachers because we gave decent raises and um and I know that it was more than 788 dollars and I know it was more than one percent and yet I used the same calculation method that's written right there it's the same one that I've used all four times that I have done the budget so that it's real consistent it's not necessarily the way the AG's office does it I frankly can't figure out how they do it but I've tried to be really consistent with how I calculate it so that you have have a real sense that you're looking at Jonathan apples each time as opposed to a Jonathan and a Gala you know and a Fuji so I'm I'm a little skeptical about that 53 473 is an average um so I will rework that essentially I'm going to rework the whole thing just to make sure that we've got things where they need to be this is pretty dang close pretty dang close and it's enough for you to tell me if you're looking at any of these lines so um uh Lance if you'll scroll down a little bit it's it's enough for you to tell me that um I'll I'll just pick a line the line that's stopped the line that's uh instructional staff where the where on the right where the percentage says 16.3 so it says that we've up up to that 16.3 percent um and for you to say well okay so this is support staff you know maybe we don't need to increase that one as much and we should increase another area as much and tell me to shift some funds um or the line that has a minus 28 percent um whatever now if you look at the line that says 630 700 800 900 okay you see a 97 increase there that is the that is the line that is preschool and right now that's where I have put all of the child care okay so you can see it is literally doubled our budget for that line temporarily okay temporarily and then once we get the funding stream going in the other budget those things will move to that other budget okay I do want to point out to you the line that is 2600 operations and operation and maintenance and you know all of the work our people have been doing I mean they have been doing incredible amounts of work our facilities people um and so even with salaries and benefits and all of the things that we have done so far this year that budget is only going up two percent and and we said all along we knew that this was not going to save us money was not going to save us money but I'm pretty pleased with the fact that in terms of this budget that it's only a two percent increase of us taking it back and the satisfaction that we are getting quality work um and uh and getting work done in our districts over the long run it really does save us money because you don't have to go back and repair the same thing four times a year yes so you know that way yes it you know yeah it cost us more but it is saving yes it is and thanks for recognizing that barb um and and we're having crazy things I mean it we have things that have not been addressed in 20 years and and we're addressing them so um you know it costs money to do that um next year will be our real Baseline year to figure out uh really if we've got this budgeted the way it needs to be because the current year we've really only had 10 months and we've been fixing absolutely everything that we can fix so it hasn't been a good Baseline for data for uh for that stuff but we've been fixing stuff that's broken I mean not that it's not things that would be nice to fix we've been fixing things that have to be fixed and and finding surprises all the time and I will tell you electrical things we've not spent a whole lot of money on electrical repairs or replacement or anything I mean very very little Plumbing has been our nightmare Plumbing has been the Nightmare and I will give you uh the most recent example of uh the plumber in in Mark and the mark and Mark and the team dug down to a plug drain over at Desert Valley this week and when they got into the drain it was full of teeny tiny little tree roots that look like hair okay well they figured out why it happened and we're fixing it but literally a four inch pipe was full of it literally looked like hair salt Cedar it isn't it's one of our trees that's not a salt cedar tree but they find the openings and and if there's an opening at all but it's probably been years and years and years to get to that to fill 10 feet 10 feet of a four inch pipe is the picture is just I mean it's kind of my mind-boggling um and so you know that's expensive to fix but it has to be fixed and it's going to be fixed in a way that the problem will not repeat you know we won't have to do this again with that particular section of Plumbing in the anywhere in the foreseeable future but that doesn't mean we won't find similar problems elsewhere so um uh yeah so Plumbing has been our Nemesis and and uh but we're working on it we're working on it so if you have other questions I'll try to answer them I do have a question can you scroll up please Lance I'm right there is good under special education and support services uh 2100 students I noticed that that's going down 40.6 percent is there yeah I'm not understanding how that works and I get that that's one that I really was looking at for whatever reason in the last budget I had two people in that line and so they're uh nope sorry it was the next line um no it was outlined so I had I had I had more people more ftes which is full-time equivalent people in that line than we actually had and um and so when I corrected that for for whatever reason the money the money then of course corrected as well so what I think is that those that those positions or that position transferred into I I maybe counted that person twice in the old budget so there would have been more money in there because I had them in there twice um and so so you know that changes that budget but it's also an example Fred of why I'm not confident that some of these numbers are are where they should be and and it pains me to say that to you all because I've been working on this budget for you know uh for a month now but um I kind of got to the place yesterday when I was trying to you know get it as clean as I could that I felt like I wasn't seeing the forest for the trees and so you know stepping back from it and not looking at this I'm not looking at all that stuff again until next week some things I'll go oh well there it is you know oh there's the problem that I just couldn't see yesterday when I was trying to fix it and I'm trying I'm not trying to make that as an excuse but you kind of get to the place where you get a little bug-eyed with oh yes so that could be that area as well going through the year we didn't either so that that line that says 2100 students isn't necessarily reflective of the number of students no 2100 is the name of that line it's not the number of students so 2100 2200 2300 that's the that's the identifier for that line in the budget it doesn't mean the number of students so that's not talking about 2100 students it's talking about that line in the budget right but that has your as you were explaining it to me I think that line has to do with the staff that's required yes for your students but not teachers in this case teachers are in the 1000 line up above um but this is support people so this is uh uh this is like uh an aide or somebody no they're actually in the 1000.
it could be speech and we did have to we did budget this year to supplement the speech uh the speech even though speech was being paid out of a grant we did supplement a piece of it um uh it's it's also like OT occupational therapy or uh over under where you see like 188 000 where we contract for uh AF or PT we contract for uh for um uh for physical therapy and now I just remembered why one of those positions went away we have not been able to find a school psychologist and we've had a school psychologist in the budget we contract for school but a school psychologist services so that shows up over there in the line where you see 188 000 it does not show up over in the line with 209 000 because it's not salary it's a contracted service and so uh and and that's probably where I had the extra f te is because we've still had that position on our on our org chart but we've not actually had it in the budget see you just solved one of my problems right there thank you okay out of your board salary okay that would so great questions thank you okay so we're going to see the amended you will you will but you do need to approve this proposed budget we need to approve you're approving it you're not adopting it you're approving the proposed budget in other words what you're saying to me is and to the to the public and to the state we're not telling our superintendent she needs to move a bunch of stuff around that whatever she brings us for the adopted agenda adopted budget is going to look very similar to this that that's what you're expecting to see got it well I make emotions I'll make a motion in that regard then that we adopt this proposed budget truth approve I'm sorry approve the proposed budget and when we're looking forward to seeing the final version next month thank you right I'll second that motion Charlene yes all those in favor I'm Melinda sugraski hi Charlene Diaz hi Fred Rushton hi Barb zarzicki Sheila Burnett thank you 5.2 Child Care Center employee descriptions some descriptions uh Madam president and board members I asked as one of her first jobs asked Michelle to provide these job descriptions the title for the positions are straight out of Arizona staff qualifications we use the same language because sometimes the term teacher especially in a school district where you're expecting to see certified teachers and these are actually support staff teachers so we wanted to be consistent with what matched licensing for child care and then she used the that information from adhs as part of the job description so um I'm recommending approval of these job descriptions initial approval of them at some point we may do some revisions but this is certainly a good place for us to start I'm sorry please so you notice we say we have a teacher and we have an assistant in in our parlance that's a teacher in a Para so however both of these positions will be on the classified salary schedule um and and be in the same uh the assistant will be in the same Lane as our other paraprofessionals and the teacher position will be in the same Lane with our paraprofessionals who have an AAA degree or higher these are the job descriptions that we're wanting to post to try and solicit for those six people six people you just agreed to yes yes all right three of each one do we have a motion you do I'll make a motion that we approve the um job descriptions for the child care Center Child Care Center Child Care Center thank you I was trying to think of the name but we haven't figured temporary name temporary name yes is there a second I second it all those in favor I'm Melinda sabrowski aye Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barb zarziki aye Sheila Burnett I am 5.3 gcd professional and sports staff vacations and holidays Madam president and board members we presented this to you last month as a first reading and then we found some errors and so it's a second first reading but I would also like to propose to you and we can do this right in this meeting and still have it be a first first reading that in the first sentence where it says all 12-month employees that we make that say all full-time 12-month employees shall be entitled to that number of days and hours Lance here is our one part-time full part-time 12-month employee and while he would be very grateful to get 80 hours of you know leave and whatever he recognizes that that's probably not a wise decision on our part and so I concur with him that we maybe add the word full time in that first sentence okay Lance is not full-time he is increasing his hours for this coming year but not to full time not to full time not to full-time so it is a first reading but with your approval you know if you'll just say to us put that word in there then we will do it and then we can still have a second reading at the next meeting there and put the word okay get that word in there okay you know what for we don't want Lance to get any extra money for extra time extra time off nah we don't want that but and and if you scroll on down Lance you can you all can see what changed from the last time you read it was the red that's in the line that says holiday where it's the 10 10 and a half and 10 month and the 230 and that's the piece that's changed since last month when we brought it to you last month it's because we were adding Juneteenth at the bottom so um uh so that's that was the other change which we recognized that we didn't have anything in here for our 10 and a half month people okay okay thank you see that next week or next month next month uh 5.4 5.4 these are the the policies we looked at earlier in its first reading so you don't you don't take any action we don't really have much to do with these except we would like you to look for that yes Guardian thing yeah okay um item 5.5 consideration of requests for resignation for renetta Renata Renata De Lima Madam president and board members this is uh one of our Middle School teachers who's from the Philippines he did sign his contract when we offered them in March and then was offered a position in Alaska and um uh chose to chose to take that position I put it on on the agenda he's already gone out of the country so there was probably no need for an uh an executive session which we could do but without him here I didn't see any particular reason that you would want an executive session and so I recommend that you accept the resignation and uh we really cannot impose the penalty yes outside the contract it's outside the contract time so okay do I have a motion I make a motion that we accept the resolution of Renata dilemia I'll second that motion Charlene Diaz all those in favor I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barbara zarzuki aye Sheila Burnett 5.6 it requests for quotes and future purchase of Power Protection equipment for district server rooms Suite 100 equipment room and each School main office or main Network rack Madam president and board members this is for the uninterruptible power supply so it's that battery backup that's how most of us think of it as a battery backup so if the power goes off there's a battery um these uh this is a this is an e-rate thing so the price of course is a lot less for us and part of what happened here is we had ordered these the exact product if I'm remembering this correctly am I remembering this correctly Ethan this is the one that that the correct the product we originally ordered is not available is that right do you know about that you're talking about our Network oh that's right you're okay those are the switches sorry I'll take that back so anyway here is the uh estimated price of the equipment uh if we did not protected if if that equipment needed to be replaced yeah and what it will cost us to have the backups um so I I recommend that we approve the backup systems for forty thousand six hundred dollars okay so the First Column is what it would cost of the equipment yes if we don't have if we don't have backup and then the second one is yeah if the if the equipment got damaged which it could do if you don't have that backup right in between so yeah yeah do I have a motion to to spend forty thousand six hundred bucks I make a motion for us to purchase the power of protection for the servers and Main Networks I'll suck at that motion all those in favor aye Melinda sabroski hi Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barb zarzicki hi Sheila Burnett item 5.7 fuel bid from Rebel oil company Madam president and board members we put out requests for bids for fuel every year to numerous vendors and uh typical of the last three or four years we got only one one bid from Rebel oil amazingly the bid is lower than last year and for the same amount of fuel and so you can see the amounts there I will tell you that these amounts are in tune with what we use in our IGA so it means what is used by both districts for the year the other items just so you understand why I am not bringing you the bids for tires for engine parts for anything else that over the course of the Year runs over a hundred thousand dollars for the two districts is because those bids are put out by the high school district so we benefit from we benefit from the um purchasing power of our IGA that you approved a month or so ago are combined our Consortium policy procurement and for those items and the high school benefits from this one so these are good bids these are much less than than I expected them to be for the coming year um as far as the field goes are the fuel pumps on mojave's campus no they're out here they're the fuel pumps are here they're here yeah the tanks are here that's one reason that we do the bid is because it's on our property okay but the tires are up at them because that's where the shop is all the other parts and everything go to the because that's where the repair shop is for the buses we no longer have one here so okay do I have a motion to approve the the bid from Rebel oil Madam president I move that we approve this bid from Rebel oil for the fuel that is shown here and represented on this uh agenda item description is there a second I second it all those in favor I'm Melinda sabrowski aye Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barb zarziki hi Sheila Burnett okay item 5.8 Desert Valley playground installation Madam president and board members this is for the installation of the playground for the life skills students we purchased equipment for that playground with Grant funds and the equipment is all sitting over there we've just been waiting to to get this done we did put this out for bid we actually only had one bidder and um and so you can see the price there 180 000 that includes uh installation of the equipment new fencing around the playground it includes the soft surface so that our you know so that our high needs kids can get to the equipment and the wheelchair kids can get to the equipment the concrete for sidewalk all the way around and um and the surfacing itself so um we were very surprised and pleased with this bid so I certainly recommend that you approve it and this will come out of the this will come out of uh capital outlay do I have a motion to approve the playground at Desert Valley I'll make a motion that we approve the Desert Valley playground installation costs okay is there a second and I second that motion Sheila Barnett all those in favor I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barb zarziki aye Sheila Burnett okay 5.9 convenient to Executive Burnett no okay Charlene made it okay it doesn't matter oh I made it yeah I was gonna say apartment whatever um do we have a motion coming out of executive session I'll make a motion that we approve the superintendent's fiscal year 23 performance pay is that correct okay that emotion and motion you might you might want to say the percentage oh um either the full 10 or some other percent yeah the 10 performance pay fiscal year 23 10 performance pay second I'm sure that wasn't Robert Rules of Order no I'm sure because we already had one as first and second at all but that's okay I'll I'll call for the vote all those in favor I'm Melinda sabroski hi Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barbara zarzicki aye Shayla Burnett item 8.1 future topics well we learned today and this kind of depends on you Charlene a little bit we need to have a special board meeting in June which gives us a couple more weeks for five minutes to put in a new um maybe 10 because we've got two others okay 10 10 minutes because we need to put in the new policy for us superintendent evaluation okay so if we can find that time it would be really really nice what were you thinking of that was kind of you because we don't know what your schedule is I don't know oh you're no I'm just teasing you you're worse um okay well I will tell you next week could you meet for five ten minutes on next week next Thursday the 22nd at what time can we do it would have to be after six o'clock because I have patience till six and that works for me okay the evening time's easier for me so would 6 30 be too late for you or two 6 15 is fine well I don't work on 15s very well I'm just letting you know anything after sex don't give her a 15 you'll never okay yes 6 30 and it basically it's three three items right now yeah and they're they're quickies look real quick um the superintendents thing is the this is the primary that's what we and the first reading it's it's the first reading of a revision of the policy so that you can do the second reading at the July meeting and then proceed with a new timeline and then we'll probably have two meetings in July one two one is our regular meeting and the other one would be to set goals or we could probably do that in executive session but it takes a lot of time we learned that today to set a goal so it would probably mean a second meeting in July also okay so just keep that in mind okay so I'd rather not do that in executive session because it would just you could construct that meeting now you can set both you know set your regular meeting for July which is would ordinarily be the 13th and then you can uh because I'm going to be gone the 26th through the 30th well then we better set it and I will tell you that I'm leaving early on the 20th I have a speaking engagement at noon with the rotary and then I'm headed out to Texas for the weekend so I'm also on the 19th through the 22nd I just realized it could be early that week and maybe do another one on Tuesday maybe the 18th like that that would work Tuesday the 18th would work would that work for you Fred uh in the evening yes evening is fine the evening is fine with me too okay okay let's do it then and that would be setting setting goals and doing our so July 18th he's doing the preliminary stuff yeah so basically a board Workshop right right goals at what time do you want to make that for when do your patients leave I can I can do six o'clock then as long as I have a month notice I can okay six o'clock six o'clock okay and then the 13th would be our typical 5 30 and 6 is that what you want okay yeah July 13th is our regular meeting and that will be that will be a budget hearing and the budget and then some other things obviously but that will be the adoption of the budget yeah okay and basically the 18th it's going to be a lot of executive sessions because we're setting goals with you okay so on the 18th 2018.
yeah okay and then we're meeting next Thursday here yeah yeah at 6 30. okay for Cassie's notes special meeting on the 13th of this month regular meeting no no no no I'm sorry um special meeting on 6 22. 6 22 I'm sorry I'm sorry and the regular meeting on 7 13. yes and there's another special meeting yes on and then we wouldn't meet on goals again until December is what we're going to be reviewing twice a year for you gotcha yeah did anybody get a folder for for Charlene today did anybody get an extra one oh no I can photocopy it no I can give her mine I've got the electronic oh we have the electronic version now we did get it would you uh did you make a copy for Charlene then sometime quickly we're going to well yeah you might have to yeah you might meet you one do you want them emailed or printed yeah just email it to me okay yeah so that you'll have an idea what we talked about yeah okay any other future topics that we need to discuss okay I'm going to say to you since I'm looking at this calendar that Lance put up here on the 18th of July might be when I will have to be at city council to tout our zoning change oh uh aren't you going to go before gmz first yeah but we can what we need to do can be in there no I mean it's going to be an opening and then go into executive session and then come out and that's it you don't care about that we don't care they won't they won't come in if they do they can come in there I mean that's well they can't for the executive part but they could come in for the other part yeah yeah We're Not Gonna We're Not Gonna disrupt your 19th but chances are you're going to have to come but I before p and Z before you're going to go to City Council and that's on a Thursday well the PNC will be yes and that will be the um that one would be the sixth so that's fine I don't have an issue with that it's just that I probably am going to need to put in an appearance on the 18th at city council so maybe maybe if we made that one 6 30 that gives me that gives me you know an hour as and as long as they're not doing crazy call to the public but the other thing is you all could start without yeah we could you can start without me yeah okay yeah yes and I can ask to be moved up on the agenda so um yeah so okay thanks Lance for having that whole list there um I guess there's any other future topics that we want to talk about at all anything else you would like to have on the agenda hmm we're going to have that um now we're going to talk about revising that policy for superintendent's review at one of these meetings right both of them both of them the July meeting the regular meeting it historically is long we've got handbooks we've got we have a lot of budget we've got a lot of things on that meeting so it's not a good place to put that that's why it's a good idea to not do it that night because it's that'll be a long agenda on its own the uh on the 13th the 13th is a long meeting probably do I need to bring a blankie and a pillow but it but it that's historically it I mean that's starting that's starting the year so you know all of the start of the Year stuff is on that agenda so Jen according to this calendar the new teacher inductions on starts July 19th yeah the next day oh you got it set up yeah and that's why she's worried that we'll mess her stuff oh yeah you can set up we will yeah it would be fun to mess our stuff up yeah that's the Junior High in me that says yes yeah switch those names around we do need to talk about coyote Camp I was putting that on the July agenda okay so um so heads up that we we have to have a conversation about grade level designations and uh and coyote being a school so just so you know that that's coming down the pike I will send you some information BCC so that it's not a you know we're not violating violating open meeting but I will give you some background so you understand why it's why it's a something that we've got to address okay can do that hard to wait do I have a motion to adjourn I'll make a motion that we adjourn this meeting I'll second that he's checking his watch 8 20 8 20.
that's what I got you gotta vote on it we still have to vote I'm Melinda sabrowski hi Charlene Diaz aye Fred Rushton hi Barbara zarzicki hi Sheila Burnett you are adjourned okay

school administration teachers and parents we would not be here without all of you I'd also like to acknowledge this year's teacher of the year Mrs Rita berkovich [Applause] and support staff person my mom my dad and my brother I wouldn't be here without you [Applause] it is an honor to be standing here today representing more than 650 members of our graduating class thank you for all your support throughout High School like many of us my journey into High School involved East Brunswick's Millstone moment I scream socials in elementary school in Fairview and Middle School like most of us despite the obvious interruptions by International pandemics I couldn't wait to reach high school but in anticipation of this transition I realized I was lacking a sense of self as a freshman I was surrounded by various friend groups I would ride the bus with my neighbors from elementary school I went to class with model un delegates and quiz Bowlers and I ate lunch with the kids that I would play sports with differences between these groups were miles apart and I found myself in a middle ground wishing to conform more neatly to one group but not wanting to let go of my friends and others as a result I felt like I was wearing a mask no matter who I was with maybe there was a bit of an adequacy that I felt with each group either not being fun or athletic or smart enough to fully fit in but early in our high school careers the pandemic redefined every facet of our high school experience the social component was no exception the Euro virtual school and the alone time it brought about forced me to reevaluate who I truly was honestly I was exhausted being different with each interaction but did I even know myself well enough to be someone else when school reopened for our junior year we were excited but for many of us myself included junior year also proved to be the toughest academically I needed to determine my own priorities and I often wondered what the golden balance was do I stay in prioritizing my grades or do I go out and make memories this distance to me from the people that I would spend my Fridays with the ones who'd FaceTime me forcing me to take breaks for my textbooks the hours I didn't spend with them were the ones spent with newer classmates the people I'd only ever seen in school until now the ones who'd stopped their own work to explain some Physics problem to me or quiz me on derivative formulas but I realized I just had I had just as much fun with the with these new friends as I did with my others and looking back through my own trials and errors I have learned that there are different types of people but they don't fit neatly into the categories that you initially believe them to be a part of people say that stereotypes exist for a reason but when that reason restricts the people that you choose to surround yourself with it does not justify their existence yes people are different but sometimes those differences uncover parts of you that you didn't even know existed don't write someone off because they're different from you I've always been told that the people you surround yourself with help shape you and I didn't want to believe it but I've realized now that it is true they're the ones who like you in the moment for the part of yourself that you show to them and then there are the ones who help you stitch together all the floating pieces that you've kept separated and in this process we end up discovering who we genuinely are so do not go by stereotypes be comfortable being uncomfortable smile at everyone strike up conversations be authentic and genuine and most of all don't let preconceived notions hold you back from new experiences so my dear class of 2023 go Take On The World [Applause] we will now hear from the valedictorian of the class of 2023 Allison yang [Applause] good morning evhs I'm so grateful to be representing at least one of us today and when I was given the opportunity to make this speech I honestly didn't know what to say or how to encapsulate all our different experiences in three minutes after all she may wear short skirts and you wear t-shirts while she's your captain and you're on the bleachers but after I got my driver's license last week just like we always talked about I realized there's one universal experience that we can all relate to for most of us high school was a golden brick road lined by white picket fences and tulips if only that road had a few lanes that were closed off for construction the Tulips were dead shards of grass along the curb and white picket fences were the countless countless red lights that everyone seems to run and of course Mother Nature's greatest gift it's girls that have an insatiable urge to jump in front of 50 mile per hour cars I hope you all know which road I'm talking about the one the only Route 18 or as many of you finally know it as party Road but when I first went on party Road it didn't quite feel like a party to me even though my home is quite literally a straight line to this to the school the first time I drove felt like quite literally tortured despite being armed with the little red sticker in the corner my license plate and two huge student driver signs proudly attacked by my mom on my bumpers I still felt myself clenching the wheel and gritting my teeth from trying to tactically squeeze my car between other cars packed along the street screaming whenever someone sped ahead of me blasting that boy's a liar with her window fully rolled down grumbling at randomly blocked off roads and speaking some unpleasant pleasantries whenever someone didn't use their turn signals I was exhausted and that was before going to cow class at the time I honestly felt confused I had followed the instructions of my dad that he had painfully drilled into my head had passed the driver's test albeit still being unable to differentiate my left and my right and my friends had driven me to school countless times before but for many of us High School felt like that with random things thrown at us from the left from the from the left and the right whatever picturesque version of high school some of us expected to perhaps find our own Troy Bolton to excel like Rory Gilmore or to go on adventures like Peter Parker our road was filled with countless obstacles endless piles of homework felt like cars packed along the street struggling in class felt like everyone else was speeding ahead of us and canvas pop quizzes felt like those random squirrels darting across the road and of course don't forget swerving by the bathroom pass black market and maintaining a safe cautionary three-mile distance around the random couples in the hallway while suffocating in ax body spray fumes some classes all together just felt like blocked off roads being physics but anyways now we're all here mostly alive having gone used to these new routes and routines it feels easy now maybe some of you will even drive on Route 18 today on the way home and are no longer phased by what feels like endless red lights and clearly Route 18 has not defeated me yet so the truth is we're now headed for New Roads filled with their own obstacles and problems we won't always have a road map and more importantly we won't have our greatest supporter of all above our friends our families our teachers the ebhs secretary Maria wood to send us our essential bearings guys I I honestly don't know what we're gonna do without her but perhaps if you're off to Florida there will now be alligators that line your path maybe you'll skid on icy New England roads or become an expert navigator at knowing when to wave out acquaintances on the streets of New Brunswick the reality is no matter how much we worry we'll never know what lies on the road ahead of us until we're actually driving on it no matter how many Reddit forums or quizlets you look at the answer isn't always going to be there and yes I'm looking at all of you a2c users but just like how we survived High School these new roads will become familiar once again until we inevitably move on to the next chapter of Our Lives maybe the first challenge for most of us will be getting used to the idea that Wawa won't be five minutes away anymore but that's an issue for next year and so I implore you all to look at your future through rose-colored glasses after all nothing can stop you if all the red lights just look like lights now okay okay this is a bit much whatever your destination no matter the obstacles you'll face along the way you'll get there eventually even those of you on buses two and six congratulations to the class of 2023 [Applause] the chorus will now present the rendition of slipping through my fingers by Abba arranged by Chandra Grover [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] love really answering [Music] through my fingers all the time [Music] save it from the trees [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] we will now hear from The Faculty speaker as voted by the members of the graduating class of 2023 Mr hayam Cohen [Applause] welcome East Brunswick High School graduating class of 2023.
I would also like to say hi to my two sons Natan and Eli who are here today and to the rest of my family who is watching graduation on Zoom away from here on their couch for those who voted for me to be your 2023 faculty speaker thank you for those who didn't well you made a choice I'm here to provide you with live training on one last essential life skill the patience needed to wait for the end of speeches made by people you don't know to sum up information that could have been written in an email I am literally standing between you and your diploma right now holding all of you captive while you wonder how long the speech is going to be it's a good feeling for me anyway once I was named the faculty graduation speaker I was met with a lot of Demands everyone wanted shout outs of their names in the speech so far I've covered the graduating class of 2023.
so that's at least some of you but if that's not good enough for you then I want you eat to imagine that when you hear your name called out in a few minutes that it's me calling out your name as part of this speech AP Computer Science principles class period four is that okay I want everyone to give themselves a round of applause now graduates when you see your family and loved ones I want you to give them a round of applause as you entered high school as sophomores your first lesson was a lesson in linear algebra you learn to navigate a matrix of sorts Group D Day a supplemental instruction one and three just like math that foreign language of class scheduling was only understood by you and your parents your junior year you face new hard truths that testing negative was like getting an A on a test you faced unprecedented challenges with remote learning you had to navigate school day to day listening and hoping for those magical words it's not covet then readjust back to the classroom now as seniors life was almost back to normal finally there were no more excuses you had to show what you can do without anything holding you back and your first major achievement was electing me graduation speaker and it was a huge achievement for the first time in high school you met a deadline I mean they only had to extend voting one extra day impressive many of you have been part of the East Brunswick School family since you started first grade in 2011.
you may not know this but that's when I joined East Brunswick schools this school system as well not as a first grader mind you I couldn't Place into that class but they gave me a room of mostly functioning computers and a classroom of students just as lost as I was and said go for it and I'm proud to say our computer science curriculum has grown and developed over the years just in time to welcome some of you into those new courses because what we have to do what we have to do is not static the breadth of human knowledge is ever expanding and with the expectations placed upon you continue to grow as your teachers it is our privilege to watch you rise up and meet these new challenges head on taking in what we can impart to you and launch you into the next phase of your lives in three years you learn more about technology than any class ever before I can't believe I'm saying this in 2023 but having skills Beyond sharing Tick Tock dances is imperative chart GPT is not going to teach you how to fill out a TPS report or to send emails or to work effectively in a team Embrace those skills and may they serve you well in your next adventure class of 2023 I want you to take one thing away from the speech you are all incredibly smart and determined you navigated the hardest three years of education that I think anyone in this Arena can remember you may not appreciate being forced to be part of this great educational experiment but trust me you are the best and brightest and you are on the right side of the population curve a z-score A plus three I'm sorry for the math reference thank you for listening I'll leave you with this the tassel starts on the right side and is moved to the left when you receive your diploma and with that you will all go and do the one thing I will never be able to do graduate from East Brunswick High School congratulations the principal's message will now be presented by Dr Michael W Vanella [Applause] welcome to all of our distinguished guests here in the arena and those watching VR live stream class of 2023 as a presenter I am challenged to share words of wisdom that inspire you before leaving this Arena so I began to put pen to paper and persuade myself to Proclaim popular phrases of prudence then I appeared at my computer and pecked with my pinkies I even perused chat GPT that was Preposterous it is not permissible it's in academic Integrity violation so painstakingly I perceive I proceeded again and promised myself not to posture at the podium and pontificate promises for what possibilities lie after you process out my plan was to Proclaim your persistence while you while you were plagued to progress in classes and proceed through the pandemic class of 2023 my message this year is simple and inspired by all those peas we the entire ebhs Community is very proud of you you have already lived through and learned a valuable lesson during High School life happens and you will need to be flexible persistent and focused on how you plan to achieve your goals no matter what obstacles are in your way let us flash back to your arrival at ebhs you waited in car lines to pick up your books and materials you drove back home set up Microsoft teams and canvas on your Lenovo and began virtual learning you are muted and turn on your camera were common phrases at the time later you returned and masked standing six feet apart who could forget standing on those spray painted feet outside or eating lunch in the auditorium that was fun by the time you got to your senior year you were in The New Normal and were successfully navigating ebhs of course it was then we threw you another curveball by renumbering all the halls and the rooms I think we are all still trying to figure that one out who could forget those wonderful PA announcements telling you about what buses or late or not showing up two and six the reset oh and of course the flatbread line is closed again or which bathrooms were open and of course wonderful color-coded bathrooms long lines and swiping in I'm sure that will not be missed yet class of 2023 through all the adversity you persevered not only did you make it to the bathroom you excelled academically athletically and in the Arts and did so with honor and integrity I do not have to preach at you from the podium about perseverance you lived it you know sometimes life happens and you just need to dig deep to get to the better times you know hard work and commitment to your goals over time pays off yet keep in mind to make it through the adversity life throws your way you will need to lean on others and that's okay just like those that you leaned on during High School look around your parents family and friends look up in those stands they will always be there no matter what obstacles you are facing they earn a round of applause graduates [Applause] and of course the wonderful ebhs staff that was by your side all the way through please all ebhfs please stand and be recognized [Applause] I would also like to take a moment and recognize those members of a class of 2023 dedicating themselves by going into the military and serving for us I'd ask those graduates to please stand don't be shy Stan [Applause] graduates I hope you have faced the worst things during the covet quarantine but I am sure there will be other obstacles to face in life just like the smoke that altered your senior sunset but stay the course as what you learned at ebhs will serve as a foundation for overcoming adversity and going on to do great things in closing I wish you all great health happiness and success however you define it as you know excuse me and you know as you leave the arena today you have what it takes to overcome the obstacles life will throw your way class of 2023 we are so very proud of you congratulations at this time I would like to ask Mr petranco and Mr posenko to assist me in awarding the medals of recognition to our valedictorian [Applause] our superintendent Dr Victor valeski will now address the graduates [Applause] good morning class of 2023. parents family members High School faculty Dr vanilla High School administration for president lacks and our entire Board of Education 10 years from now will you remember who was sitting next to you at this graduation probably not the overload of anticipation and excitement preparing to walk across this stage to receive your diploma will likely result in some Amnesia about everything you are experiencing today here's my challenge will you remember anything I say this morning and does it really matter I guess time will be the test of that here's what I know if I hear something I can relate to that I'm more likely to remember it and probably for a longer period of time if I can put it into practice in things I do I will remember it forever 10 years from now your world and your view of the world will be different the speed of change among many things affecting our species continues at an accelerated pace each successive year brings new discoveries that can both positively and adversely affect each one of us and I believe the biggest challenge for all of you Remains the biggest challenge that existed for each graduating class before you will you be able to adapt as your future educational professional and social environments change how quickly are you able or even willing to adjust to the changes coming your way and ultimately these decisions lie with you here is the part that I hope resonates with each of you regardless your path today reinvent yourself every couple of years it's a simple process that takes a conscious effort prepare yourself to be adaptable simply be the best version of yourself that you can be so I hope to hear years from now that these last few words inspired and formed the foundation of many successes that I know are in store for you congratulations to the class of 2023.
[Applause] now I'm going to be the best I can be president lacks and members of the Board of Education as superintendent of schools I certify that the students assembled here have completed all the state and local educational requirements for the issuance of a high school diploma and I recommend to the Board of Education that they be granted their diplomas [Applause] Mrs Lori LAX president of the Board of Education will now say a few words good morning faculty administrators family and friends and a very good morning to the ebhs graduating class of 2023 the reason we are all here today I myself am actually I'm sorry Mr Cohen a graduate in East Brunswick and I actually see a lot of similarities in our experiences despite there being decades between us academic success and college aspirations drove many of my classmates in the late 80s seeing a stage full of high honors earners and watching you proudly wear your intending destinations on decision day I realize that some things never change although specific dates in the click of a mouse delivered your fate and not waiting to see the size of an envelope in your mailbox being a bear on the field in court was a big deal in my day in fact I have a former classmate and friend who even played in the NFL this class has 21 students including four division one committed to playing college with only yes with only about two percent of high school athletes being selected to play in the Collegiate level that is very impressive we too had our share of excellence in the Arts but the talent that has graced our stages and colored our canvases these past few years is First Rate and some of you have already found your way to the Carnegie Hall stage your generation is wonderfully accepting your friendships with one another transcends social and demographic graphic status ethnic backgrounds and cognitive capabilities you truly accept each other for who you each are today's climate has forced you to be more worldly than we ever were and at a much younger age when we made mistakes time and space eventually erased them thanks to the internet and social media every misstep today has a potential to go viral and have lasting consequences the silver lining you have also learned the incredible impact that you can have and how great your reach can be these things have made you both wiser and more self-aware but perhaps the most significant similarity that I see is the fact of us fact is that most of us then and now find ourselves in the middle of the pack there is nothing average about the middle my advice to you to us is to always be the best that you can be don't worry about those that come before or after you as I look out over the rows of this class my Mantra of having 8 000 kids has never been more evident I've actually been on the board of education for your entire East Brunswick Public Schools career I've handed out many academic Awards to you I have loudly cheered for you at various sporting events and applauded more politely at your band and Orchestra concerts I visited your schools read to you Splash through puddles at Fairview and loved and truly appreciated and enjoyed watching you grow from my Memorial kids I loved being a big part of your Elementary experience and for one of you I love being your mom [Applause] for most of you here today your roadmap has been planned for years whether it be further in your education proudly serving our country or heading straight into the workforce you are taking the next step of your journey toward your desired goal but not everyone knows what they want at an early age or how to get there there are also stories of hardship and perseverance that are never publicly told I have no doubt that sitting among you are classmates and friends that might have rejoiced with you and your successes while they themselves endured a bumpier path or an unclear vision for their future today is the great equalizer your individual Journeys May differ greatly when you walk out the doors of this Arena but for these brief moments you are all walking across across an even playing field and will cross the finish line together please Revel in your accomplishments as they come no step is too small to be celebrated as you patiently wait to walk across this stage it might feel like it took forever for you to get here but for your parents in the stands and the ones here on this stage I assure you it feels like yesterday when we were sweating shoe tiring and mastering the alphabet so evhs class of 2023 I challenge you to make your mark on this world even if you don't know what that will look like yet and whether it be a DOT a smudge or a whole magnificent mural let it be yours and be proud of it the good part you ready here's what you've been waiting for Dr Vanette Dr valeski Dr vanilla on behalf of the Board of Education I accept the recommendation of the administration of East Brunswick High School and important that we recognize them tonight in front of our community and give them a little token of our appreciation just sorry I would like to have Vincenzo de benedetto come on up and I'm going to have our director of building the grounds Mr Molina Mr Molina come on up to say a couple of rules [Applause] I've had the privilege to work with Vincenzo for about 13 years I've seen him fix just by the students that you see every school day as a matter of fact by the lead of Dominic gittins who is currently a sophomore he volunteered on behalf of his own Tech peers to say thank you for a very thoughtful poster here are some quick thank yous from Javier Jesse Kenny and Roger Javier said I got to know Don these last couple of years and he was very friendly and responsible man he was someone who cared about his job and showed that that through how clean great pleasure working with you god Jesse said it has been always a pleasure working with you since Don began who's always supported me with any question I had especially with directions I remember we used to use papers back before GPS I hope you enjoy your retirement well-deserved we will miss you Kenny said Don never called out sick he would say I would only call out sick when I am dead he's truly a reliable person to work with and Russia says Don made my job so much easier prime example is by just giving Don a call and asking him if he can cover a trip for me last minute noticing the answer would never be no as there was always a way like teachers the board and the administration values bus drivers as extensions of the classroom they are equally important in safeguarding and inspiring students in equally but different ways Mr Tim thank you for all your service [Applause] hey you want me in here come on come on hey
