polling both met with people to kind of gather data but the one of the recommendations that we have is to reduce the number of enrollment to qualify for administrative support we have had 0.5 assistant principals at some of our elementary schools due to enrollment not being high enough to qualify for a full time administrator and the information that we've gathered indicates that people would prefer a full-time person in those roles and its cost prohibitive to have assistant principal in some cases when there's lower enrollment so we're recommending that we do a Dean of Students with lower enrollments to help and there would be full-time at the school site so that's one of the changes that we're adding to this to allow a full-time person with some an ability to have managed discipline actions and things like that at the school site to support the principal and the school and the needs that they have and then we've lowered the enrollment that what qualified then for a full time assistant principal as well so we'd have a Dean of Students from 450 to 652 in order to provide that administrative support in in a way that we can manage our budget and still provide the support to the schools another change that we have recommended is at the high school level we have changed the enrollment capacity to 2200 and then if they have anything from 0 to 2200 they qualify for 3 assistant principals and then anything over that would be an additional assistant principal we've really evaluated the needs of the schools and determined that they in order to safely manage the number of students at the school they need to have at least three assistant principals at the high school the other change that was made that was an accidental change that I need to tell you was an error the on the school aides it says that only 2 would be allowed from 1175 enrollment in up at a k-8 school that's an error on this that needs to be a three so should you move to recommend approval for this I'd ask that you would change you would note that that is an error that needs to be corrected this is under the k8 section it's under the k8 section for a school aid and the enrollment is 1175 and up that they would qualify for 3 school aids instead of 2 okay for k-8 yes for Kate can I ask you just for clarification with the difference between an assistant principal and a Dean of Students yes adeno students would be similar to a teacher on assignment so it would be a teacher salary rather than an administrative salary they would not perform staff evaluations as far as teacher evaluations but they would serve in a role as an administrator we wouldn't be taking them out of a classroom but they wouldn't have the same credentials as an administrator but they can certainly provide support on a full-time basis in the high school counselor staffing model 442 one seems super high but in in that in their field is that considered super high or is that just kind of the average it's is the average among other school districts for that ratio we haven't changed that ratio we have looked at it we have not changed it of course everyone would like things to be lower Madam President I would add that there the public may be familiar with one of the governor's proposals is that there be an increase in funding for social workers counselors and SROs and it would be great if we could get additional counselors and lower that Roge of that ratio and as far as those ratios those are academic counselors that work at the high school for scheduling needs not they're not social counselors right but you know they they kind of catch a lot of that anyway when there's relationships built absolute right right so at what point does administration consider the need for more high school counselors like if it's for 40 to 1 at what point do you add another madam president the enrollment triggers the additional staffing so as we look at the ratios obviously it's not always exactly in line but once they exceed the ratio and qualify for another one based on the four forty to one then that's when they would get the additional counselor just keeps on adding them additional counselors as the enrollment grows if it's similar to when we we watched for a while before we add another section of a particular grade it has to be at a certain level for so long before we bring in another teacher like for an example so is that how this would work would have to Madam President that's correct any questions or comments from the board yes I have two I believe I'm glad that we have gone - gone to the realization of instead of 0.5 and what the K eights moving it to a point one point one point I'll excuse me the point one brother um with the Oh with the person being basically a teacher on assignment would we what would we be providing that teacher on assignment as far as I know you're talking about they don't need to be credentialed but what type of expectations are you wanting to have that particular person that Dean of Students as far as requirements to hold the position yes so we have a current Dean of Students job description should this be approved we'll be reviewing that job description to see and evaluate what are the requirements that we would expect them to have as far as experiences go we would not require that they have super that we had that they have a principal certification because if that was a requirement then we would make it a principal job so but we will be looking at other requirements that we when we evaluate that job description okay and do we have a school right now that is less than 450 students Adium currently we do not however we're looking at staffing for next year and we'll see we may not have any of it with our new schools and enrollment there it's possible as we're until they grow all the way up so okay Madam President this sourcing ground I would also add going back to your your question just a second ago about credentials that it is our intent that school deans and the system principals really are a preparation position to become future principals and beyond we see those as training positions and we would hope that somebody who is selected for a Dean would be either already credentialed or on the pathway to credentialing so that they're demonstrating a forward progress and their professional growth okay and they attend administrative meetings as well yes absolutely thank you okay I move that the board approved k-8 and high school administration front office staffing model as presented with the exception of letting the schedules reflect that on the k-8 schedule a school would be eligible for three school aids if they hit the 1175 and up numbers second motion made by Christine Prichard and seconded by John Densmore please cast your votes motion carries thank you for your work on that miss buck thank you we move to action discussion item six March 27th 2018 governing board regular meeting dr. Kellis thank you madam president members of the board members of cabinet as we are reviewing the board calendar for the remainder of this year we identified March 27th as an interesting date because it comes right after Spring Break which comes right after a board meeting so essentially there will be a board meeting a spring break and then a board meeting and given that the district is essentially closed for a week in between the two board meetings it's our recommendation that we not hold the second board meeting on March 27th and if there are pressing issues those can certainly be prepared and presented the the first board meeting in March but we feel like it would be prudent to not have to essentially back-to-back board meetings so what's our recommendation that the board for that come on let's do it and we don't have anything as far as finances nothing needs to be that's good I move the board cancel the March 27 2009 teen governing board meeting second motion made by Christine Pritchard seconded by Tracy sourcing bill please cast your votes motion carries extra move to action discussion items seven recommendation to approve the appointment of assistant superintendent of Human Relations dr.
Calais Thank You Madame president members of the board it's with mixed emotions that we present this agenda item as we have absolutely thoroughly enjoyed we're not giving a eulogy quite yet mrs. buck will be leaving the district and has announced her her departure beginning the end of the year and so that necessitates a selection process that we have embarked upon over the last few weeks and we're very pleased to present to the board mr. John crotteau for your approval mr. croto has over 20 years of administrative experience including several years in two different districts as at the assistant superintendent level he's been a principal assistant principal a teacher has been very successful in each of those positions he comes very highly recommended and we are very pleased to present him for the board's approval as assistant superintendent of human relations beginning in 2019 mr.
Cardos here yes any questions no I think we will be in good hands with mr. croto and welcome aboard and you've got big shoes to fill no she's she's done a great job fantastic job thank you for all you've done mmm we're not gonna do the eulogy yet [Laughter] any other questions or comments mm-hmm under Tina motion I move that the governing board approve the appointment of John croto as assistant superintendent for Human Relations motion made by Traci servicing bill seconded by Don Dunsmore please cast your votes motion carries welcome congratulations [Applause] Madam President if we could I know we have some some reports here briefly and then perhaps right after just as we dismiss to executive session we would invite the board to agree mr. croto next we move to the superintendent governing board updates I understand we don't have a student update tonight no meal will move to superintendent update dr.
keller thank you madam president members of the board members of cabinet each of the board members have in front of you a copy of this document as was mentioned during the call to the public and as you can see across the the walls of the board room and this is the CTE month where you're celebrating Career and Technical Education as you just heard under the direction of mr. Jim shaver was very passionate and does an amazing job leading our Career and Technical Education in the in Dicer just yesterday we had an amazing event with all of the district office staff and it's not very often you would think well why would you bring all the district office staff in so we had all of the folks here in this building come and experience Career and Technical Education even to the point of seeing how fast who could do it the fastest of suiting up in a fire suit a firemen's suit but there's a lot of awareness and and educating as you can see on here all the different programs that are offered and I can go through all of them an aesthetician aviation technology culinary principals dental assistants energy and industrial tech Hair Styling IT security pharmaceuticals veterinary welding that's only about 1/4 of the ones as we went very quickly through that list but we're very pleased with the program we appreciate our students who and parents who support it and identify that as a very viable option for a very successful future after high school so we congratulate mr.
grieshaber and all of our staff and students in our CTE program that's all I have to report every board update have a couple things On January 24th I attended the district-wide vaping an informational meeting very informative very well attended and I think Karen winter Stein for her help and her staff and everyone involved in that or local law enforcement Arizona Attorney General's Office and everybody else that was involved in that and making the successes and just very informative I learned a few things that and I I thought I was pretty up-to-date on a lot of that stuff but there were some things that were very shocking very sad so I'm glad that we have a handle on it and we opened up that information to our our community and then January 27 through 29th member Tanner and I attended the NSBA Advocacy Institute in Washington DC it's an amazing experience some of the sessions that I attended and the topics that were covered involved the 116th Congress rising issues and ASBA advocacy priorities and SBA's campaign for the modernization and full funding of eye-dea and then of course school safety was a big topic as far as the federal front state actions and title four so the whole purpose was to kind of gain momentum and to prepare for the day on Capitol Hill we all had appointments with a lot of the the members of Congress specifically the underfunding of eye-dea and that's where I learned to that where we're supposed to receive about 40 percent of funding most extras' were lucky to get between eleven and fifteen percent having districts then having to pull money elsewhere to cover that gap so a lot of it n SBA's focus was on IDE a although we had opportunity to discuss safety issues and things which my group definitely took advantage of those opportunities we met in groups of like four so it was very intimate type conversations and just again a wonderful experience but when as you know getting ready to go although super excited about it you start to feel like gosh am I really qualified to do this I'm with all these like members of Congress and I'm not political at all I don't know a lot of you know as far as definitely not in Washington so I was get a little bit nervous about it and we had this one of the breakout sessions talked about how what what Congress member members of Congress actually shared information as far as what influences them the most and they broke it down and not to go through all of it because I know we're short on time but basically 54 what influences them the most our in-person visits at 54% just short of that contract from a contact from a constituent at 46% so normally when you think of a lobbyist they're the ones with the voices they're the ones they listen to they're only influenced about 8% from lobbyists visits so what that told me was all of us here in this room are community members or parents we're the voices that make the difference and really capture their attention they also taught us during these sessions too of how to how to influence and a lot of it is using those personal stories those individuals experiences that you've witnessed you've been a part of and again 54 percent so it does make a difference and so that's kind of that was empowering I think because that's something we can all do you talk about you know contacting your local you know lobbyists or having the people down in Washington or the Capitol handle it really that's not where it happens it happens with all of us so I thought that was very very empowering so I want to thank the district for allowing me to attend it was just such an incredible opportunity and that's all I have anyone else I just had a couple of things I too attended the vaping informational meeting that was over at Valley Vista and Karen winter Stein did an awesome job and collab collaborating with the different law enforcement and the Attorney General's office the attorney general's office and I had posted something on Facebook and I had friends from across the state said they wanted more information because they had children that were approached about vaping and everything so I said go to this go to this you know and so I directed him a couple of places but they were glad that somebody else had actually posted something on Facebook about it and I don't know if everybody has noticed that there have been other school districts not only in the state but across the country that have really stepped up the vaping information you know new york across town there have been so many school districts that have just really tried to get to the middle school kids and the high school kids on the dangers of vaping so we're on a roll here and i hope that the students realized that this is not a good thing attended the ASPA ASBA bolts workshop this is the second one that i have attended but I went with member Dennis Moore and just so she could learn the the new role that she has tackled as of January 1 and then also our wonderful magnificent fabulous keep going our board secretary and they now have a track just for board secretaries administrative or executive assistants that they can now earn different points and and awards and stuff like that so they've just started this year and that is totally awesome attended the national board certified dinner on the 9th I think this was my eighth time that I've attended we had one teacher tricia gazette oh she renewed her national board certification but we also had somebody that has left the district but she came back down melinda martin and she was recognized as a master teacher and then we had a former teacher Laura Collins third grade over at Park View and so she was shattered our table also so that was a wonderful wonderful dinner Saturday night let's see visit shadow Ridge today and got a lot of time going through the arts the the choir the dance theater it was awesome just to see the kids in action and the harmonies that was in this Queens class CTE you know my heart is there it's always been there and so everybody we still have a few days left for CTE month for the month of February and I believe there's our congratulations to Robert Bohan and his team I guess he we are the 6a Southwest Region boys basketball champions and he is also known as the coach of the year again I think he got it last year or something like that so congratulations to Robert bo hung and that's it but it was it was a good month request for a student or for a future agenda items alright next we have a call for executive session pursuant to a RS 384 31.0 3 a3 for discussion or consultation for legal advice with its attorneys regarding statutory authority and limitations relating to district development growth ARS 384 3 1.03 a5 for the purposes of discussing or consultations with designated representatives of the public body in order to consider its position and instruct us Representatives regarding negotiations with employee organizations regarding the salaries salary schedules or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits of employees of the public body and ARS 3 8 - 4 3 1.03 a 1 for the superintendent's mid-year evaluation yes okay I'll second Christine seconded by Tracey sourcing washing cars jarick sec you obsession

Barry who just easy is the band director we teased her last week about bringing pretzels and we didn't get any so we got our own little bag of pretzels tonight and we're very thankful that for that the pep band did the anthem and we thank them for that one nothing no which each team as a shutout with master bone of the rebound how deep ball deflected coming down the court driving all the way in is to tossing for an outside shot no good out of bounds it'll be white ball and we thank you for watching our live stream all five million of you was at five or five million what was that number I couldn't tell I couldn't see my eyes were closed Doyle two-on-one slows it down bounces it to Olivia she shoots she scores two-nothing Raiders 633 to go in the first two ties it brings it up Sarah over midcourt right side ball comes for Walsh she took steps and will go the other way this is a tough matchup for Norton they have three players on the bench and only one of them has their sweater tee shirt off in other words she's in uniform the other ones have t-shirts covering themselves and I'm not sure window get in the game they have a short bench right side Federico fees Collins Gladstone bounce pass Sakhalin shoots and scores [Applause] 31 Jenna Clark for nothing home team a hook-shot wild down to federico sofia turns it the other way the senior brings it back out the Gladstone Haley with one the biggest smile smiles I've ever seen on high speed school athlete she just enjoys their teammates and enjoys being out there loose ball coming down the other ways this piece the freshman patch just going away master bono 6-nothing Raiders hatch gotta by master bono they give give and go with Walsh cross-court to ties it all the flex or maybe that was a effing this was a third and too many missed shots already by Norton an internal miss Kimora inside the pivot back to Collins force inside for Livia Collins has it sees Federico she takes a sideline shot off the orange bachelor bono crime solids puts it up in wild down to the arms of Sarah taught Isaac the charge that gets away from master bono fly pass up court to patch for three rim rebound inside assitant shoots it up and in six two exciting game national Bono look at Olivia in the pivot outside shot Collins hits up top and I think they're right the the sidelines for Norton saying that ball hit the upright and not the glass have to flick it off the glass and should have been a a whistle and the ball should have gone to Norton and I agree with them completely it's it and the up Jen led Langmead the head coach of Norton is yelling at the official comes over and he says to him it hit the upright the support material off the glass and they didn't see it and two points for DES out of that Atherton will put it in play as clock comes out the senior the only senior for Norton and she's replaced matter of fact Jenna clock the only senior for Norton she got flowers from Dover sharable and selling pretty celebrating senior night for Norton here at dover-sherborn very classy moved by the Raiders so what a classy organization we have Jamie Walsh cross-court to Hannah Sheldon who just came in shoots off balance comes out back to Sheldon pop Atherton off to the left rebound inside it goes out of bounds it'll be white ball freshman Reece O'Connell replaces Colleen Doyle for the Raiders 333 to go in the first quarter so I saw Risa warming up today while we were setting up Bruce Aaron fielding she's going to have an outstanding career I think so rebound master bono to the apprehension Reece O'Connell over the Raider at midcourt with the lime-green sneakers right feel fouling off Sophie Thelma Noster came into the game - Sophia Federico inside for Collins back to Sophia she shoots wide master born around to her arms short again look at master bono and she gets fouled she she is the tallest player out there but they cannot box her out she's just too Russ of an agile and strong yeah but what I was saying is it's good to see a big piece of your team getting their shots in before a big game like this of the year in and out nice turbo to another one good nine to home team 304 to go in the first driving right side handing off to Sheldon Sheldon goes forces inside first foul against dover-sherborn sophomore Sabrina Ryan comes in for Sofia Federico a Faton out deep gathering the ball in his Sheldon she's trapped right side the ties that could force inside ball bounce around like a little golf ball on the putting green yeah mini go that Isaac outside for patch Mikaela with an Ellie our Theodore her first name outside bomb by athletes and swish nice play right there to get open Atherton mich at nine five Raiders junior Fallon over a breeze O'Connell for the three way off the wide Bock and the ball comes down to guitars ik bringing up a floors after two she's a junior right side they give and go with Sheldon patch the two ties it for T in the shot clock outside Atherton this time it's Sheldon baseline locked Collins nice play hands off the so Keith Allen that Fallon with a nice block right there yes nice defense by Collins and Fallon so if he feeds high post gets it back Cate feeds Collins again Collins loses the ball regains reso caught off a three I didn't really see her working on her threes but I guess the chazak over the attitude with the double ponytail he's off to patched he's a pivot foot I said bono playing very aggressive defense way up in the air now that one hit the support system and the whistle blows the horn sounds it'll be white ball that's what should have happened earlier against over sure board they got two points they should have gotten oh well can't go back right no you have a time machine falen with the blue sneakers feeds inside Sabrina a Darwin change to go in the first quarter right side ball to flick their way by Sophie Fallon picked up nicely by Sheldon Hanna back to a Faton right side for Jamie Walsh wash one of the captains sucks away from hatch she was hit no call mashed-up oh no all over her three seconds in the shot clock Atherton a bomb out of islands white ball and the buzzer goes off 30-second clock expired that sounds better it's always good we have a volume up what I had said to ourselves you know all kind of all kinds of calls over reso Carlos yet the black knee guards you got the green sneakers in the white and blue uniform we says O'Connell shoots off the glass and in that ball had a mind of its own Walsh looks blocked by Collins he's off to a carnal feasted up the Florida Sophie right side is Ryan so if he goes all the way in scores Sophy looking like she was gonna pass and then just went for the rail this first quarter is coming to an end a bomb by Walsh we have played one quarter and the Raiders who need one a win to get in the tournament lead 19 to 5 it's quite a good start their defense is just playing very well and they're also getting in buckets the Raiders come into this game after having a split this week they won by 8 at Shawshank Valley Chuck then they lost a close one at Dedham by 3 they've lost two games going home with Dedham woman away by single digits so they played Dedham a good team well and they could match up well if they qualify the tournament and the last time these two teams play I don't really want to mention this too often but back on January 18th at Norton the school was dover-sherborn 53 Norton 26 so they just more than doubled the output of points by Norton 53 26 and then the announcements will be made a week from the night we're covering this game on the 22nd the matchups we made for tournament so that's Friday the 22nd the MIAA released those that information Norton has also support their last two games Sofia short rebound no good ball bats out to Sofia fouled we'll be saying sir I said that's it yeah I mean I was just like trying to call to play a little bit see try to do my echo a little bit you're not too not too young to be smacked sir 20 to 5 11 seconds into the second quarter of play Bruce Glazer and Brad Crandall kam Crandall and to my right behind me is Jordan Piper camera people they're watching a live stream from dover-sherborn cable TV of dover-sherborn Raiders High School girls basketball 21:05 the Dominions of God Jamie Walsh brings it to the right guided by O'Connell he is off for Sheldon Sheldon drives the paint hooks it up no should go the Lions shoot to that ball hit up a mind of its own just the room and said I don't think so and the calling in an on shot foul it's an out of bounds play I thought it was a shooting foul he called her before the shot something in an out-of-bounds play rather than free throws Atherton for three skims the rim rebound inside nice to play hooked by Hannah Sheldon it comes down to the Raiders Fallon driving the left Fallon driving driving throws it up and gets fouled he's quick Jenna clock I think on the foul not sure 31 young fourth foul on Norton only two on the Raiders it'll be clock the seniors second foul clock to toesik and Walsh are the captains for the visitors Gladstone College in Federico for the home team Pep Squad and drum off to our right we don't always see a drum do we know there was one last time okay twenty three to five Thanks I knew you gets a good commentary in there ball stolen away by Sabri oh right Sabrina Ryan friends given goats of Federico up and in nice be from O'Connell time out Lancers wow the Raiders have so far six uncontested points in this quarter and they're just heating it up 710 to go on the first before the jedem game this past week scoring averages for the raiders leading scorer Olivia Collins averaging about eight and a half just over eight is Sophie Fallon and third-place Reese O'Connell about seven and a half per game rebounders the top one of course tape master bono with nine and just over seven further via Collins Janice does a great job at Sudan and she's a sweet person - pretzels aside she still and last week she brought her child to the game and I think she had to let someone babysit while she led her Pep Squad at the end full of energy this lady right I don't know how she does it Qatar's ik off to a certain in the page she's filed I really was on Sophie Fallon as Colleen Doyle's returned it could be you're right don't read again okay you're my eyes you know I just I just keep them closed and call what I think I said other moms play deflected comes down to Atherton she feeds off butat Isaac way across the walls for three yeah ball we got a push going the other way against no Sophie oh and put it in play first foul on patch of Norton we so Carlin from the visiting bench as DN Langmead calls on instructions to his defenders back to Fallon half the shot clock left O'Connell outside left feeds inside a hook by Sophia short rebound inside Fallon fights for it and she loses the battle to patch patch hands off to Atherton no that's not Atherton I lied I don't know who it is Bob that was the Toxic now its Atherton well you knew she'd get the ball eventually right I was just ahead of myself Walsh stolen away by Fallon one-on-one she races down court the ties that tries to stay with her can't and she scores she's really some mouth kind of play and I'll say it again Sofie Fallon has come so far from last year she's such a challenge she's worked hard to get there 2075 just under six to go in the second quarter of play she's really good at stealing the ball we live in your Collins returns and so does Jenna clock but Norton ak8 national bono comes out and so does Olivia Atherton so we have to Olivia's playing one for each team cross court the Toxic almost stolen by O'Connell I'll call on a bump she gets called for now five team fouls on each team cainy clubbed up very excited by this team they just gotten better late little season in the last few games they've been playing so much better team basketball I mean they always played good team basketball but they're much better at it and much more successful as a team my spank shot I think that was Sheldon I'm not sure they kind of like the Patriots when we won the Super Ball not exactly the same no Reeko Shuster scores but the thing is like any sport if you build up to the end of the regular season and you get on a streak it's much better going to the playoffs then someone will just relax their way in there look at Millis I believe this still undefeated for the girls and they've had a great season but they haven't had any real downside to them when they get to the playoffs things turn pretty quickly if you can't stay with it and you have played better teams so it's better to build up a head of steam going into the playoffs kind of like the Baker I was gonna say it's kind of like the st.
Louis Blues in a row but we don't want to talk to hockey I'll do it but the thing is it takes a while and the Blues are a great example half a season they didn't know who each other was it takes a while sometimes on new people coming on board for a team to gel and this Raiders team is showing that it's getting better and better with only three seniors they'll be stronger next year three wins last year they've more than tripled that though they tripled that as we come into this game nine the season that's quite improvement that really is but they need the 10th to get in you need to finish it 500 or better to qualify for the m-i-a m-i-a tournament out of bounds but what will still be black ball I would say their best player athlete is coming back in and she's replacing Walsh Ethington had eight points in a game against Westwood no easy feat there Anna Sheldon look at this a breakaway easy up and in now and College tries to save her but she can't and patch comes down with it and patch Justin it up and down she bounced it off her body and that's a no-no so it'll be white ball Sophia smiling about it he in a Sheldon number 4 for Norton had a career-high with 23 points against Denham she's a junior the Ricoh back out to O'Connell the freshman hands off to the senior Doyle bounce pass to hailey Gladstone shoots and hits on that 31 to 7 patch drives patch puts it up under the backboard rebound the Gladstone O'Connell sees a lot of black shirts and slows it down lets them get set up Collins down low keeps it in layup cut oil short Doyle doesn't give up throws it up rebound controlled inside by Norton they come the other way Atherton to patch McHale runner hook good for 24 left in this section she could become a player yeah doesn't show any fear inside and that's good no you look into Sofia Federico as Megan Hamlin gets set to return to the make a debut in the game rebound to Gladstone smallest lady on the floor gets it Federico to O'Connell waist way wide it goes off white it'll be Lancer ball did hit the rim Walsh comes in three places Hannah Sheldon Jimmy Walsh for Olivia Atherton guitars a cross-court Walsh fakes the three comes into the inside the circle she's a patch couldn't control and that's a freshman mistake right there block by Hamlin 335 to go in the half Walsh wants that three couldn't take it bounces out the Gladstone working around the perimeter in the semicircle now they go inside Doyle the only one outside with along with O'Connell Gladstone to deep rebound inside Doyle wide rebound down low it goes off I think going off Meagan handlin and she came in for his touch of the ball and Reece O'Connell comes out and coming in is to Celia fielding to replace her Cecilia is also a freshman like O'Connell shot wide down to fielding calling guided by Walsh the new round is Hamlin bomb in and out from fielding kept in federico drives banks it off the orange and out of bounds like ball again yeah they're doing it all 31 to 9 2:55 on the clock Federico has a tough time when it gets it back who's it way out as substant of going to come in for the Lancers outside the fielding push inside back out Colleen off the mark to Walsh on the rebound she drives up the floor nobody in front of her except Federico now fly past left side hands up the attitude for a running bomb short Haley Gladstone with a second rebound handling slows it down doesn't want it out of control to Gladstone Haley Centerpoint shoots on the run 33 to nine patch patch didn't how to play that ball and she didn't because out of bounds subs coming in clock is out Atherton make that um patashnik Atherton station and they bring Jenna Sweeney in along with Hannah Sheldon what's inside Hamlin shoots off the bank bank no good calling for three boom [Applause] pick me up the floor pathogen was pushed each team now has six fouls next I will put the other team at the foul line for one anyone Diana Regan jr.
coming in for dover-sherborn and the Raiders have cleared the bench everybody's been in the game that's great nice move by Keaney she can see this game's a bit out of hand at this point already twenty seven point lead after to the line one on one misses rebound comes down to Sheldon back outside Walsh coming right hands off to Olivia Atherton feeds Sheldon bounces in shoots short gets her own rebound puts it up but no thought that was going yeah it wasn't fielding with the board's federico brings it back now they slow it down they're in no rush no you can just set up 1:18 to go in the quarter regan force inside she walked yeah she moved that pivot foot I'm looking and looking any starters yeah federico is the only starter still on the floor good way to give you some some experience that's the word pianist Sheldon as you watch our live feed approaching the one-minute box ago in this half - didn't know what to do so she brings it back out right side for Walsh Walsh against Federico bounce pass left no freshman patching the foul line he goes there hook she's blocked block was by Regan and maybe someone else yeah we phone nice block forty-nine point four left in the second quarter Sweeney will go to the line for her first three free throws for the Lancers 29.4 to go thirty six to nine [Applause] des has 17 points in this quarter they had 19 the first new one had five in the first they had now have five in the second and it stays that way looking around Gladstone's pick outside shot by Regan short off the orange bounds around and I up almost called it but no was take it away by Hamlin and he was either with three seconds or someone stepped out of bounds looked away yeah at 30 seconds it was the three seconds from that what Sweeney comes out for Norton the charge that came back you mean she has the ball for tossing up the foul line hands off to African she's gonna shoot no outside piano Gd exactly reco coming back six seconds one shot there holding that Oh Riko looking there we go chase shaken and that'll be our house at halftime the Raiders lead Norton in a must-win game to make the tournament 36 to 10 we'll be back shortly with the second half of this game enjoy the pep squad and a look at the basketball court this is dover-sherborn cable TV [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] go 43 with it oh the nice rebound by number zero just bring it up a little move right there finds 22 down low score I'm not replacing you bird I don't want 243 passes it up five with it on the three-point line finds 43 down low puts it up Wow nice to move right there with people all in her face still gets it up gets that any good job number zero has it 5:22 down low oh alright blue coming back number five with it fines 34 she puts it up just missed 15 with the rebound from blue to 25 oh nice pass right then back and forth forty three to five nice play he's play 43 and fine 24 with it Oh number 11 with the all the block by number five and nice nice game right there from those ladies keep up the good work [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] check one two three trying to turn my mic up to see which one is mine check one two dream test check check one two three check one two check cool [Music] second half just on the way we welcome you and thank you for watching our live stream of the over Sherbourne girls basketball team change baskets at least that's the intention right right yes I have some leading scorers too Rhys O'Connell had six points federico had four points Fallon had six points also Doyle had five points in a Thornton for Noren had five Sheldon had two and patch had two Walsh puts it in play for a patent the little left side back out deep from patch two patashnik Jimmy Walsh comes in hands off deep looking around right side to Atherton Olivia looses the ball out of bounds the officials disagree let's talk it over went off at oil okay it's black ball have an update from the boys game at Norton high school they are tied at 24 dover-sherborn in foul trouble but at least they're tied at halftime do we thank John much staff for that update we also thank them for our new snazzy coats which will be wearing in the playoffs thank you very happy come over and dress you but that's okay Federico Pop's hits [Applause] [Music] thirty nine to ten just about a minute played in the second half patch drives that famous book of hers it's a good hook she's confident in it and she uses it well she'll get better as you just go along Colleen Doyle baseline hops it just won't stay for her head Oh Riko with the boys turns around shoots and scores 41 to 12 a win and this lady hook basketball team from dover-sherborn High School will enter the MIAA tournament for the first time since 2006 in the eighth year of coaching for cainy club des what a heck of a job she's going to steam pass gets fouled we amassed rabona well Federico you know that's when I graduated in Oh straight shuffle I'm gonna message yourself y'all phone I'm like wondering who are these people I don't know them Nesta bono comes out that is the fourth foul on her if coach takes her side and talks tour excuse me she's been replaced inside by looks like Sabrina Ryan to tarik nice feed patch wasn't expecting the ball threw it up short and got fouled Doyle with the foul it's gonna be tough to come out here for the second half when you download this many points and you just say to yourself and the team just stay with it stay with what we're doing you know if you're there working on improvement I was talking about know what I thought you were talking about the st.
Louis Blues patch all right-handed shoulder shot makes it 41:13 better Rico bringing it up misses the layup comes down on the floor coming away with this Hannah Sheldon Sheldon looks left sees patch drives herself off the backboard no good Olivia Collins it feeds Federico she's driving against wall now she's driving against cosmic hooks would that be nice that within rebound Gladstone pop short by Doyle Collins inside gets away from everybody that's three shots missed up four more shots and a score and that's a big part of the reason Norton's losing they just can't stay with the raiders sideline shot missed into the arms of Federico seniors last home game during the regular season she buries it over they Raider at midcourt timeout candy Club de 30 point lead I'm impressed I don't think you know it's very high I don't like saves but it's obvious you don't see Norton scoring you know the 43 points the Raiders half now he's gonna get not gonna get that many I mean let's just be practical here so it looks and appears unless something goes disastrously law this disastrous thing wrong but this team is in the playoffs [Music] the 529 to go in quarter number three you're watching a live event that dover-sherborn high school mr.
Bourne hosting a Norton Lancers dover-sherborn whiz which it appears and very good right now that they will I'm not sure I'm not sure the test even a proper sentence they go to the tournaments there was a pretty excited trying to maintain themselves because there's still a way to go in this game and nothing's over yet carlins outside rims it ryan deflects it it'll be black ball like well they gonna repeat me huh thousands in line with you can good job I've been off the peanut butter crackers it's a reward three oh no luck but Norton's tonight that was a nice set shot by Atherton and the ball just didn't want to cooperate moving left to right Sophia Federico gets around a screen throws at left side pulled back in by Sabrina Ryan for Federico inside ball deflects and look who gets it up and no good Collins inside she made and commended the basket underneath we still have the ball with a fresh clock to work with Ryan I'm so glad stone inside nice force Olivia Collins shoot short didn't draw the foul ball goes out of bounds take it raiveer ball coming back in is Jenna Clark the only senior if you missed the opening she was celebrated by dover-sherborn here at senior night and the dover-sherborn team gave their only senior from Norton flowers a very nice gesture I'll say happy Valentine's Day Collins three on the shot clock Ryan shoots a line drive got 25 to 13 you think those stuffs they've seen the score for a while it's bit one-sided to the efficient but patch the playing do-si-do back and forth now finally to taschek nice play she went up and under an end Haley Gladstone the fun-loving senior bouncer for Sabrina Ryan feeds it back to Olivia with the blue sneakers over the Gladstone the right bounce to Federico Blind Pass but Doyle shoots and scores nice passing from the lady Wow have they improved a wash big time especially since that last halston game I remember doing and you know we dominated they dominated but this is much that a basketball you're playing much more fluid consistent conscious Jimmy Walsh returns for two taschek and Sophie Fallon Reese O'Connell come in along with coming out is Federico and Gladstone move him inside Africans shoot scores gets fouled she was able to juke out Sabrina now timeout Norton so looking out of the stats unless you have something you want to say oh you have a good Valentine's Day we went out to 94 Wednesday night nothing I watch on personal stuff and I will say we saw Bohemian Rhapsody oh my gosh what a good movie you see it yeah that's it great I like any kind of music rock do you want to see a documentary on rock music it's a sad but entertaining story and it's a biography of you know the lead singer of Queen Freddie Mercury right and it's a very well done well written well packaged story the beating assist maker for dover-sherborn is Kate Nashville Bono that's just 21 on the year leading rebounder I think I said Kate photo shots I'm looking you know actually it's Reece O'Connell I'm surprised Therese O'Connell followed by Olivia Collins and master bono steals valent master bono and O'Connell averaged three steals per game lying inside making handlin O'Connell the three in and out ball bounce around it'll go off and Livia cones will be Norton ball as they bring patashnik back in guitars like had a nice game against Bellingham when she's quit ten points in the leading of system maker on the team no big surprise here just can't match the bone over 21 the dish master it's one way you said Jimmy Walsh Andy Walsh Wow really know which will be going follow on them you see it but it's off the ball foul at the senior five against the Raiders at this point and that's the first against the visitors Bruce O'Connell looks around see Sophie Fallon with it Hanlon turns around sees Olivia down low in the post short no good that's one thing I'm sure Livie will be practicing the offseason those her her spars pretty much down low and those are her shots it is sitar sick the little fadeaways yeah somebody kicked it off a foot it'll be raiders ball returning cecilia fielding I said okay I call OCC what do you think is my microphone Olivia Collins comes off Sabrina Ryan up the floor walk carnal any viewers can comment if we should use the name CC then now all thousands of you can just heads that sent us little notes good luck trying to find us we don't know where we are Sophie Palin outside well they can make comments on the way on the on YouTube site they contributions will not be accepted O'Connell Palin nice inside they worked it around nicely 4918 said 150 left in the third mercifully to taschek feet inside stolen by Ryan thank you very much Sophie brings it up pulling you chilled lat lagging behind her she slows it down to a bit court right side for Reece O'Connell Ryan feeds back to Reece look at this passing isn't this beautiful Ryan thinks about it and scores mom just work it around for a sec shot that'll help you so much in tournament play Sabrina's getting a lot of points today patch got over up in that little um Dipsy do slow coming back up the floor she's tired she hasn't had much of a break she's a freshman I was playing a full game I'm tired just watching her o'connell all by herself and Norton a lot of the steam was gone out I know it means a seat on the floor whose girls are tired and frustrated in a tough season outside Baum wild O'Connell another rebound CC fielding the freshman passed the scorer's table calls out of play Oh perfect steal and timing by Fatah zyk she lays it up in the right side and gets it she is good 20 points for the visitors against 53 for the home team five five-second differential in the shot and game clock Estes quarter wives down fielding handlin blocked the shot inside rebound comes out fielding gets it ten seconds on the shot clock Fallon stone away from her goes out into the floor it's not gonna matter six seconds five seconds four clock horny out one second Walsh tries anything to no avail at the end of three go over sure 153 and Norton 20 nice comfortable 33 points you know sometimes you wanna you know you run out of things to say and you want to describe the girl has a funny touch the screen cynical but I gotta tell you going back to the early mid 90s and I was with Miss filled cable access we covered literally baseball we thought this is great for the town we need to view the players kids have nothing to say of course their kids but the worst thing is you do not yank an older kid a young kids game it's gonna be like 15 to 14 final if you're lucky maybe that look but the watch like okay he walked the bases loaded now he just walked to run in oh look he walked another run in manager comes out to talk to the kid no they don't have a drill bullpen stick it out son you'll learn from this I'm thinking what else can we possibly talk about baseball is one of those games when you try to fill in the blanks there's a lot of downtime and a guy who just retired Joe Angel the Baltimore Orioles baseball in 19 years on the radio and this guy could home spinach he could tell stories from the past from his past his career and athletes he knew and baseball in the minor leagues all the things he knew he was a great storyteller he just retired announced it today and they're gonna miss him in baseball because it's a great technique you people tell stories during baseball there's so much like lad time you know Bruce I can do that maybe I'll have a flat furniture you mean Little League indoor you don't mean big league Yeah right stone okay the seniors are back out there all right they yes they are federico got a foul on the floor going the other way just against over Sherbourne i think that could be called on Sabrina Sabrina Ryan maybe you see no Federico for third ball comes to talk to Tarek Magill Sookie has finally come in to let me pronounce pronounce your name yeah I didn't I got a right a besom Mills now anyhoo they also brought Courtney cast number 10 in to get to experience four on the shot clock I don't know what they're doing cast doesn't know what they're doing either she gets the ball it doesn't matter it'll go over to dover-sherborn and I just wish this game would wind down the running clock Senate deep you know I wish they wouldn't stop the clock really right that's the human part of this it games over dover-sherborn is going to the tournament it's not official till we play just over seven minutes but it's not going to change anything really except the final score Collins to Gladstone work it around to fielding Sofia for a runner short rebound somebody down Wow Sabrina's just got that shot in the bag 35 point cushion that's definitely a cushion after thin turns around hands off to toot Isaac she's got pushed did you see it little touch me foul I don't like those because they missed the bumps and the bruises who sometimes they just call little touch bees out of islands to play for knew it and someone had to tell them it's McGill ski app he will put it in place she's a junior guard loose without deep bucket Isaac so the yell ski gets hit back she's got a chute and this get foul if it's on Federico what's good fourth yeah she's getting called out man she comes or maybe not coach wants to talk to her no it's federico ii o3 on earlier I thought since up only true on her I misplaced it on the scoreboard yeah sweet gielski with her second two-handed short rebound to Haley Gladstone switches hands got it by smuggle ski oil cross-court the Hayley you can fill the feeder inside nobody back to federal Rico but it's on the shot clock fielding drives the baseline turns it back Colleen thought about the three instead drives shoots misses and gets fouled think on the floor not not a shooting situation are you moaning over there no I said yeah what no foul oh no it's a foul it's not about it I mean no shooting down I gotta get you a dictionary geez Colleen turns around shoots left off the mock rebound to feel feeling good play back to fielding she's got nothing to number ten Gladstone back to 20 suits good shot it was just too deep and cleaned out of bounds it'll be white ball as the entire bench comes in four in four out this thing on the floor hmm [Applause] I'm counting now three they got three players four five they just switch the entire line out loud he did yeah wish the entire team on the floor for Norton foul on the floor now eight against the Raiders so for the rest of the game Gladstone with their fourth foul no one will be shooting I could just pause and have you fill in the blanks it's kind of cool yeah I'm trained to do booth hey after the game could sell the extra pretzels or make a profit what do you think of Jordan and my lover she was not gonna miss Jordan here Jordan gone oh she's on camera I joined your brother fell asleep I think I I think that I prefer Jordan on camera she's much cuter than you bro cross-court to Haley Gladstone five oil that's better Rico's short she just backed away from the layout that couldn't finish it off rebound to patch no make that a 31 Jen o'clock listen fly pass to Sheldon left side to patch with the knee brace in the right foot knocked away how long she's looking and I'm looking I'm thinking what right meet is yet all ball please don't make me come down there timeout Norton 503 left on the clock rate is 55 Norton with 21 I noticed that Haley Gladstone now has four fouls 503 to go in the game I got a question for you Bruce what is a Lancer I think the rains on the ocean are they what could be in there inland Raiders right yeah pirates yeah and Lance's a more like fighting soldiers with Lance's they're sort of swordsman they're not swordsmen they don't have swords they have lances yeah it makes sense I explained you what he always were last week right you doubt me oh I believe I don't even have to look it up because I know I know I know what Hillary's I'm probably wrong but I just don't want to know people of the hills might be our last high line of the game feed outside for Jamie Walsh to flex out of bonds me blackballed during this opportunity want to thank Jordan you brother cam Jenny Murphy who's out ill today for their coverage technical coverage coverage during this season of them when nothing's even with them we may be nothing Gladstone with the board's no fault of theirs of course to Carlene Doyle you know I helped out a few times to run whatever Gothamites baseline puts it back on the Florida Federico and a bomb by fielding in an hour time Haley lost it she gets back on defense driving against hers clock lays it up and in nice hustle from Haley getting back field I'm feeling I'll see see see see Neely gets it back once your score you she's a very hard shot and it doesn't go in it's just gonna go off the women out here Kate Nash de Bono making here debut a Haley Gladstone may be finishing up for the year and the regular season submits a big hug from Olivia Collins as cake master bono replaces her there's a good career ahead of hurricane master bono two more years of basketball always a smile on a young lady's face we thank you our audience all millions of you for watching our live streams this year hope you've enjoyed it taken away by Sabrina Ryan CC field didn't resent up brings it up in front of us Bruce I saw we had eight could have been no what's her number in and out for Federico and she'll be coming out soon I'm sure a patch it goes down the floor double-teamed a back off for now that's driving throws across court open Jamie Walsh in and out the Doyle to Federico looks at the clock slows it down with three and a half to go master bono left everybody else moving inside and out master Mona has it left-wing CCO thing you got your wish yeah but they were second basket I'm not sure he'll be wrong down low ball out to a nice shot by the senior clock she gets buckets she does she does how to score she did almost just twist her ankle running back I'm not the camera cut that fielding back to Sophia Sophia baseline in and out it all comes down to Ryan scores tell you Ryan right down low it's almost a guarantee she's getting that ball ball we covered by patched the blonde that the purple headband gives it off to Sheldon integers around dribbles around fielding patch goes into the foul line and the bad knee too we feed ball on the floor do you notice we had no jump balls today yeah and last game against halston we did tell you together he was like a world's record of jungle it's the play style of the team's I think Halston was all over the place and they got dover-sherborn a play that bounces on the floor style coming out Colleen Doyle Sophia Federico the seniors are off the floor and get a nice hand from the crowd lots of hugs on the bench very nice to see we never get hugs pretty yeah we don't deserve them I got your chocolate covered pretzels that's true I have my ways Atherton goes to four to 5927 two and a quarter to go loose O'Connell back in the game to master bono also joining them as Meg Hanlon what's the milk past and nobody O'Connell laughs cuz she was going one way the ball was going the other and there's no way she was catching up look at the back of O'Connell socks I think it says NY for New York on them no way yeah down low o'clock what - well you're looking - he'll turn around for you let you job down see if I'm like my eyes are good not that good the inside for CC nice pickup with the ball - reso carnal they're looking around the perimeter inside to Ryan she pops too deep and jinx it lion going out she's been replaced by Diana Regan see the words that's in the back it is NY I'm sure you know I think it's like something to do with Nike I'm going mine mr.
bono to handle and wow they shock they've been doing those giving goes all night I'm 13 to go girls are anxious on the bed you're very excited when the final buzzer sounds they'll be in the tournament first time in a long time free basketball deservedly so National Bono to Reese O'Connell you know when you talk about someone's sock design you know the game is over Dianna Regan tied up by sweet guilty he'd inside CC bounces throws a wild prayer up comes down out of bounds to be blackballed I hope O'Connell is a Red Sox fan I'll have to look into this way wot's mcgill ski by O'Connell Smith yo ski gets it back blocked again I think she's gonna give out in hailing it's mapped on the head by spaghetti more frustration than anything else oh my god they were swinging out there the boys have lost by ten 55:45 final so the boys will finish 15 and 5 as they go into the tournaments who did they play they played a tough Norton team that's trying to qualify for tournament like the girls here but Norton has the mutton boys have games in Hanceville but they're a tough team in home to play the Norton boys and they just defeated the greatest boys by 10 2 seconds 1 second season tournament we're all excited they said deep from the crowd so they had to win like what the last like three out of four something they did it and they did it Wow congratulations guys ten and ten gets you in and we are so proud for the Lady Raiders we sure will stay on the floor for a minute let them hug because they deserve it and then we'll close 6120 i.d.s wins and we will see you we will be covering the boys tournament and hopefully maybe some of the girls games as well we thank you for watching dover-sherborn cablecast of dover show and ladies basketball until next time so long everyone [Music]

David Arnsdorf Gordon berry Paul darling absolutely sent Hugh flack present Bob Hart yeah Ken winters at least temporarily numbers previous today's action any questions on the approval of last November's minutes okay let's have a motion for approval second all those in favor opposed motion is passed approval of the minutes November minutes is approved current appeals actions in Sao Paulo series 19 - 0 0 1 at 1 6 2 5 welcome Street someone here to speak on that place yes Oscar Rodriguez here for mr. would can't be with us yes an unexpected trip to California attend to some issues there so he won't view with us today but we are here on a variance request the last time we were here in fact I think it was the November meeting or it may have been December we were here on an appeal on the same exact home and on the same exact permit the Board found that there was a violation of be three thousand five three it's a slope requirement for the sewer liner that my client installs in particular here at the Waffle House we are here asking for a variance to the application of three P three thousand five three we included a letter with our filing that details why we think the variance is permitted I don't want to take up too much time sort of going over the whole case but I do want a few minutes to just point out that my understanding of this MCL 1/25 variance statute is that it provides the board pretty great discretion to look at all the facts look at the contacts and see if a variance is permissible I attempted in the letter to highlight what I think is the important language and that is the literal application of a substantive requirement will result in exceptional practical difficulty to the applicant and I apologize if you've done hundreds of variance requests we have not and so we could not find a definition to what is required to meet you know this practical difficulty I understand the city staff report focuses on the fact that what we're asking here is to be excused from having to pay to correct a deficiency a violation of the code I don't see anywhere in the construction act that excludes first of all such a request it talks about practical difficulty and we would not be here today if we're talking about a thousand dollar fine as we laid out in the in the request we're expecting fifteen thousand or more bucks to go and resolve this fifteen thousand or more dollars that Miss Brooks will be in our view based on our contract responsible for that combined with the fact that this sewer has been working without any issue we gave them a 10-year warranty we will give them a longer warranty again the whole contact suggests that we're not asking you to move mountains here we're simply saying okay there's a violation it's substantially complying with the whole purpose of the slope which is to make sure that the waste gets to the city line and out and there are no sewer backups there are no sewer backups we don't expect any sewer backups and so that's why the second prong of substantial deviation there is no evidence of substantial deviation I mean there's no evidence of really any deviation other than the technical violation here I do want to correct something from my letter which indicates that we'd be asking potentially for other variances since we last left and I mentioned alluded to eight other total of eight cases six of them have been resolved the city has approved permits in those six cases and so this is it we are simply looking for a variance on this one because we just think that again it's it's working the way it's supposed to work and I think that it is quite a difficulty and impractical to ask a homeowner who agrees that this is working well to pay for something that not only will destroy her yard but also she thinks is working and so that's the general gist of it I did point out appendix J and then this other Code section on on modifications and it's just they're sort of as an anecdote that it could be approved under those and that doesn't really necessarily have to do with the variance but I know at the last board meeting I think it was board member darling who brought up appendix J and it pointed providing this is the code allows for this kind of deviation if necessary and it could be done by the plumbing in the city inspector if they want to on the ground per pendeks J and our 104 or it could be done by the board I don't think that there's anything else that I want to add other to re-emphasize that I don't seek other variances so that that's clear from before and we've spoken to miss Brooks about it again since the last time we came she's 80 something years old and I don't want to drag her in here and I really don't want to drag her into this whole case and that's why I think that we do have in this particular currency a practical and exceptional difficulty I can answer questions if anybody has one or not okay first I'd like to have idea of what your position is well so is mr.

Rodriguez just indicated they are at they're using the wanting to use the exceptional exceptional practical difficulty as a means to not have to correct the situation I don't believe the code really allows somebody to say it cost too much so we're not going to fix it the opinion of my opinion and staffs opinion is that this device the CI PP liner was installed we met the in the last sports determination we met the code requirements we interpreted it correctly while it's difficult to measure slope there is an easy way to see if the proper drainage is happening so clogs will not take place I believe in the videos a considerable amount of water that the camera was going through so it did not flow properly with that being in place like it is it could have been corrected in that area of course they have to dig it up if they wanted to use this type of product again they would dig up that area they would correct it then line it and everything would work properly that didn't take that didn't take place that was installed if they still have the option to go back and correct it in that area with that being said practical difficulty is not financial I believe that appendix J does not appear does not work with us otherwise I would have used that in my interpretation and if I felt it was able to be used and felt I could approve it that would have happened it does allow administrative Lea for a similar or better product to be installed that's not the case here it's it's it can be used it's been approved by the state however it has the malfunction of the dip that doesn't allow it to flow properly so staff's recommendation as this to be denied and be corrected to properly flaws okay thank you board have any questions or comments so I guess my first my first question is the whole business of and the first time that you came before the board it wasn't a peel but it wasn't asking for a variance and all the semantics aside or you file appeal you file an appeal for a variance and so in doing that that appeal for a variance was denied and I guess the first order of business in my mind is why are we here again for the same kidding can I dress that well yeah well I do I mean I'd be only because it was in the staff report that there was an appeal made for a variance from in the particular code it was but that was supposed to be it was in effect or excited to be in fact at the time of the inspection we could I believe these proceedings are recorded correct yes yeah at that one someone suggested a variance so we asked okay let's bring up the variance issue I could be mistaken but someone from the city indicated we're not here on a variance so we're not going to address the variance issue that was an appeal so I think you're talking about procedurally if that was my chance that in a variance I think we didn't have an opportunity to actually address with the board on the variance the order that I have from the board says that we violated P three thousand five there at three there is no thing there's no findings which are required on the issue of a variance I could be mistaken but that's my recollection of it or else we would have we would not be back here we would have addressed the variance at that hearing as well help I mean I honestly I really thought that the at the last at the last go-around on this that there was a there was an appeal being made to seek a variance from the P 300 5 standard for evaluating whether the pipe was putting that the liner was put in properly according to that code and then in in saying know that the next step for them would be to go to the state and seek a higher authority to rule so if if that's not the case I mean are we so we're back here hearing an appeal on the same thing but forward a different approach to relief although 305 I think they're different things one's an appeal and one's a request or a variance there are two different sections of the construction code two different things and I sort of half-heartedly attempted to address it at the last hearing but the city's position was and that's why I wrote this mr.
wood is not seeking a variance only an appeal in the end the board did not formally consider a variance request at that hearing that's that that's how it went down for us or else we would not be here again I don't know if you want to hear from me I basically the way mr. Rodriguez has described how this came to be is more less accurate in the future and the way it I believe really should be is either you appeal because you don't think that it's been properly interpreted or you ask for a variance you say yes it's been properly interpreted but I can't do it and so in the future the way the paperwork is handled I believe will be different but in fairness to the applicant since there was that discussion about a variance which was not applied for once mr. Rodriguez filed this on behalf of the and we felt that in fairness it should be brought and that's that's well I my understanding was always that if you're filing for an appeal implicit in that is that you're seeking invariance but neither here nor there so that's that's all fine and good so my second question is you indicated that the city approved the six other cases I can I add more to that I know that I'm trying to be with all due respect to the city they approved six of the other eight cases and from our perspective without any additional modifications by my client okay they did see in some and they they'll chime in on this I don't they did and this happen in the last month and a half they did look at additional videos in some cases but they can speak to that all I know is that I have six of the cases approved this the seventh of one we're not here on today was denied because it was a disaster the client did do a explain to the homeowner this is the cloud Chester case that this is this is pushing it on rehabbing this line so he told the homeowner you might actually have to end up digging this up we ended up having to dig it up we knew that it was sort of a stretch that one then my client applied for a new permit new work was done and that one's been closed but there are six others that have been approved since we were last year that's terrific because the prospect of me I try to say that today then this is it I'm not trust me this is very expensive for this guy and again the cost of fixing miss Brooke's non-issue as we see it is still much more expensive than me coming here to you who that's so I mean to ask the obvious question how how come this particular case couldn't have because so we had and please step in Ryan if you want to correct me at any time we had eight cases one of which we're hearing today we had one that was in violation but they went back and they corrected it we had six other properties that had the work done but we could not get any movement on correcting the issue we didn't have paperwork we didn't have some videos in cases and so so it took going to a ticketing process and enforcing this to this level to get that information and we went back and reviewed all of them out of those six one that was rejected that we had the video one we considered it acceptable minimal acceptable and we did approve it the other five we had to force the issue because we did not have the videos and the paperwork that we have requested so then after our last BBA meeting mr.
wood went back to those other addresses and made new videos and the new videos were acceptable so this one was also done remotely the exception thing in terms of slope and water flow very where most of the issues on the others based on slope and water flow there were violations because we had not received videos and or people we were requesting okay we got that information we evaluate it at all okay that is flatly incorrect they told us in their March 8th violations we've reviewed videos and these are the problems okay March 8th and were with judge Valvo on C violations or ordinance violations for that after the fact I know we're talking about the sixth now they have reversed all of them okay no work has been done March age they knew what the violation was and it was P three thousand five three and if we need to make this proceeding into about those cases I would like an opportunity to present because I completely disagree that what happened is we told you we don't have videos so we violated you for P three thousand five without having seen anything and then you gave us videos and now everything's okay I take full exception to that and I don't want to sit here and go back and forth on it but I will leave it at that we we're not gonna address those six again at this meeting yes although we are saying is that the previous appeal whatever would call it asking for a variance is is what has to be addressed and it was our denial I believe was based upon the inadequate slope which it didn't if that is still there then in my thoughts the contractor is responsible to fix that and responsible for the cost of that sure not the homeowner we have a contractual obligation with a homeowner that said do that yeah and that the contractor is responsible know that the homeowner is responsible okay and but the other part of it is we understand that there's we're accepting that there's a violation of p3000 5:3 we're saying that in these particular circumstances that a variance can be appropriate if I had the opportunity to show you all the videos which last time that did not go so well the whole picture here is that this is a non-issue the homeowner doesn't think it's issue the variance is exact we're saying that the variance is exactly what can be done to correct and avoid this huge cost of the homeowner that's that's all we're saying we understand there's a violation but the violation since 2014 since this thing's been in place it's a it's a sewer line not a single backup and we have a protection for that so I just want to be clear we understand that there's a violation P three thousand five three we think that under the plain language of this statute there's evidence to show that a variance is not inappropriate that's all I'm saying and nothing in there says that costs can't be can't create an exceptional circumstance I mean if this was five hundred dollars to fix we would not be here it's we're estimating fifteen thousand dollars folks to something that no one actually believes is a problem it's technical violation sure because that's what you found but variance is there so that if there's a practical difficulty we can deviate from and be excused from that particular code that's that's all we're saying can you explain to me the guarantee to which you have given we have that was included previously it's a 10-year warranty it's exhibit three to this latest filing and it very clearly says that we'll fix anything on paragraph C contractor will correct a failure by repairing or replacing the affected pipe within a reasonable time without charge to the owner and the failure we're talking about is if it ruptures that's defined earlier or if there's a backup and what we'd be willing to do is give this in lifetime warranty to give this house a lifetime warranty it's that was what I was going to ask are you contractor willing to give the house lifetime without question I will give I mean not sure I'm not sure that the rest of the board but this is something that could be looked at I think that under the variance rule on that the board could attach conditions okay we are open to conditions lifetime warranty for the house it can be in the city record it could be in the approval on the plumbing online docket lifetime of the house pertaining to next owner and next owner and certainly certainly and by the way this is intended this 10-year warranty for a subsequent homeowner so this could clearly be in the city records variance approved on the condition that X that's you know that's that's a we have no problem agreeing to that okay two things first of all the hearing here is for the contractor not meeting having a violation not the homeowner the second thing is warranties are only maybe available as long as the company is in operation which I'm sure mr.
wood is going to be around for quite some time but you never know the outcome and the situation's of a company so please keep that in mind do you want us to put up a bond you know I'm actually actually to me that that's much more promising because the problem I mean I saw the warranty you know actually planned and I read through it there's a lot of um I mean I don't want to use the word the term fine print but there are a lot of exceptions as to what could you know make the veterans warranty an invalid and I this is a franchise operation isn't it no it is it is his own yeah it's confused with a roto-rooter I think they're much bigger this is just him it's just he's he's at this this is his baby 30-plus years Bruder md plumbing is not one of franchises no it's his own business not a franchisee of the company that makes that the contract subcontractor that provides that LMK technologies no they're they're out of Illinois and we just use their products I mean yeah all that stuff he can be amenable to I will make him be animal to that because it's that what the whole point is to make sure we have no sewer backups and if there are let's take care of but there haven't been in five years okay well I just want to say one of the other things so so even even though it this is this is about this hearing is about the the contractor who pulled the permit the fact that they included in their information packet that their contract with the homeowner puts the homeowner on the line I mean to me makes it an additional mm-hmm complication but so go ahead is the step with the staff be amenable if the board were to pass it based on available for life for all repairs to the line and as associated other expenses if it were to back up drywall in the basement yes something like that something this city attorney I honestly don't know anything about the legality um I think that I don't know who the bond would go to I don't know how the bond would run with the land which is part of the issue subsequent owners and I don't know who would be holding this bond making the determinations as to whether or not the conditions of the bond applying it the mechanism I think would be if possible would be very complicated thank you so just a clarification my understanding and reading this is that you've got a slope issue and a dip issue and the fact that the video showed standing water which would suggest that you're not getting a proper flow through the the piping and again the code is written not just for the present condition but it's basically whoever lives in that house a family more than one person continuous movement of flow and things like that so again it might perform well presently for the condition of the house but then as we go forward with change of ownership a family of 20 moves in or whatever that you would still expect that flow to perform efficiently and the question is it's questionable whether that would or not that's what I at least I'm hearing that's the way we inspect is so we what what's so hard for me to just accept here is that the other six had water some of them video showed they were complaining about the same issue slow we haven't corrected a single thing in those they are now approved six of them so they're shown the video did show water sitting on the original videos yes then they went in re video these job sites and the new inspections had an acceptable amount of water you know which would be very minor water at the very bottom right so they looked much better and then a couple of the properties in question one of them the video they gave us the original time didn't even show a liner install so that was one of them that when we did get the video it showed the liner and it was acceptable okay but again we this appeal is for this address you can't work on the previous sentence we're done with the previous six I understand I'm just telling you for context that this was a month or two ago a major horrendous problem mr.
