welcome in ladies and gentlemen to a beautiful Friday night here from waterl Illinois welcome in ladies and gentlemen to this Aces wild pregame show where we have the Eagles and the Bulldogs taking off in this week 2 matchup both teams coming in at that o And1 record then Jared Jermaine Alex schimmer again from the kchs broadcast here tonight Jared rivalry week here we are in col or in waterl what do you remember about your waterl games oh man uh going back uh playing water is always one of the most exciting games of the year of course um but I remember my senior year we got to come in here um it's always fun when you get to come to watero always a great atmosphere so uh we came in here my senior year and we got us a dub which is all that really matters um anytime you're playing wle all you all you really want to do is win so hopefully Columbia got has that mindset tonight well you got a little bit of br rights on me I never once in any sport that I played water I don't think I ever won so and this is definitely a big rivalry here that we got going for us and uh it's a game that you're only separated what 15 miles whatever it may be you come out everyone comes out together we got the route three rivalry shirts all going on this year once again and typically when this is in Columbia that's whenever we do our uh military appreciation night which is going to be next week for us but it's good because it's not just a football game it's a whole County it's everybody coming together yeah and I mean for some of these guys on the football team they've you've been playing waterl since you were in kindergarten first grade going back to Blue Jay so um some of the some of these watero kids you've grown relationships with whether it be great ones or bad ones but um so I mean coming in tonight Columbia and water um it's it's always fun so people are going to come out for it that's one thing that surprises me whenever I grew up playing sports it was never guys that you played with whenever we played it was always water had their teams Columbia had their teams and it was never like oh I'm going to go play my buddy like you didn't like the guy that was on the other side of the field of you and that's a little different this year a lot of these guys I remember last year the guys even talking they're like oh yeah that's my buddy I play baseball with them and football with them so that's got to be a different mindset for the guys too oh yeah definitely I mean and even some of these coaches that have been coaching against each other for 20 plus years you look at Dan Rose and Coach Herer and uh you got Luke cash and major down there on the waterl side so um a lot of a lot of friendships with that coaching staff but um tonight they're going to butt heads and it looked like coach Demian he's even a football coach it looked like whenever so yeah the former Columbia basketball coach now he's down here in waterl and he's he's taking on both Sports as we're talking here right now the captains are coming out onto the field and Jared you've got the roster for the Bulldogs here tonight let's go ahead and go over who their captains are as well as the Eagles looks like we got number 11 Kobe asogi he's going to be their quarterback this evening I'm pretty sure he's a lefty too so we'll have to watch out for that looks like we got number 61 Jake rustler their Center um who else we got out there 41 and 52 41 is Harrison uh don't know how to say that name so I'm not going to say it wrong um he is going to be their running back tonight and then 52 is Gavin Lich he's going to be one of their guards and middle linebackers tonight and as I look over I can see Joe Kish big number 75 last week was uh hindered with a ankle injury uh he was a game time decision tonight looks like he's going to be good to go and with him rainwater Dalton rainwater a wide receiver for us and does a little bit of everything if we need him to go out and be a uh running back back he can do that and I believe it's going to be Maddox stefen and Sam Denny I believe it's four and five in there too so that's the four Eagles starters we'll kind of watch that and see if the Eagles will be kicking or receiving we do get to uh call what we want this this evening for the coin toss as we have the official coming in right now to talk to the people in The Press Box so we're outside tonight you're going to hear a lot of background noises and we apologize for that but hopefully we're up and running we got a couple things figured out from last week as well so we apologize uh for last week's broadcast I never knew that trees could affect a broadcast so much and uh it definitely did for us so uh I believe Colombia just won and elected to defer the head referees is talking to watero the screen that you see there thanks to thanks for cooking thank you to uh First National Bank of waterl they supplied the meal tonight for the boys the pregame meal uh it was provided by washies but first Bank of waterl did get the uh get the meal footed for us so Jared let's talk a little bit about last week's game and just in the game we'll talk about offense and defense here in a second but just in a game in general uh when you watch it it was close but I think when you went back and you watched film it wasn't that good yeah and I mean that first quarter definitely wasn't very good for both sides of the ball um I mean you kind of expected that for your for your week one um playing a team that you don't really play ever that we've only played four or five times um and not a lot of returners come back to this team um so yeah it's it's going to be hard to get that first game under your belt um but I mean coming into tonight I think I think these guys know it's a big rivalry and know they got to play a lot better than they did last week um I think o line up front has to be a lot stronger and get to their blocks a lot better than they were last week um I think we got to tackle better um some of our linebackers and safeties were having to come up and um make tackles so uh we need some of them D linemen to step up and try to try to make some big plays tonight and you just pretty much KN hit everything there on the screen and uh it's a it's a pretty simple game whenever you break down to it but uh I think last week in that first week you need to catch the brakes we caught the braks but we didn't take advantage of them we had three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries but we never I don't think scored off of any and an onside kick and the onside kick yeah I forgot all about that so you catch those breaks in those first round games or in them first week games but when it comes to a rivalry you need to catch those breaks just as well and get this sideline off their game yeah and looking into the water last week they put up over 40 points over 45 points last week you know so um Columbia defense is going to have to come in here ready and definitely not uh allow that many points this week so um but coming in tonight I mean we're going to have a good atmosphere these fans are going to be all over the place so it should be fun when we look into the stats of last week's game we'll go with the offense first uh nothing going really in that first first quarter first half for the Eagles went down 14- nothing going into halftime luckily we came out in that second half and we did get on the board in the third quarter made at 14-7 and then ultimately we gave up the touchdown in the fourth got sacked for a safety in the fourth but we did come back and get 14 um but it wasn't enough they put up 22 with modern day but the Columbia offense was led once again I want to say by Mason vagle this year and something that's crazy on his stats he went five for eight passing 103 yards but on rushing eight rushes for 50 or 49 yards one of his rushes though was for 58 yards which is a touchdown run so you you throw in the Lost yards on the sack cuz that's not a good thing yeah definitely not and all the all the fingers kind of Point towards the o line on that um and we know we got two two new linemen uh coming in this year but hopefully that first week they got that under their belt um and they come into water tonight and they're a little bit more ready I was excited to see Jes Nelson last week too 13 rushes 42 yards we need to get him in the open field he caught a ball that was right down the middle of the field he was the first touchdown uh receiving wise out of the running back position but that was a pretty good play call there coach Warner talked in the Hol meets coaches show they knew they had to go for it on that drive and they picked the right spot and I think you even said that in the broadcast last week you're like man what a play call and what a time yeah I mean coach owners like that man um if you have if you have enough talent in your back field like we do this year I think um where you can go to three different running backs one being a PowerBack in cam janic one being uh the fastest kid on the team probably in Jay Nelson and then you could put a guy like dton rainwater pretty much anyone back there in the back field in this type of offense only using one wide receiver this year and then when you go to the other wide receiver but you still got Bel in Sam Denny Lucas ring Lucas ring his first game last week and he had a pretty big catch going down the middle of the field wasn't a great ball but it was a great reaction on Lucas to catch the football yeah and for a for a kid that's never played sorry but this is really loud they got the speaker right by us um but for the for a first time player ever playing football I'd say he did pretty well last week um playing corner is not easy and then also playing both sides of the ball as a receiver too uh in your first season of football but um he did well I'm looking forward to to see him catching passes tonight so hopefully those offensive linemen got something figured out I was walking down by coach Baker and Coach AMS and they were giving them a little couple extra pointers here tonight so hopefully those linemen get it figured out and get the blocking because Mason vagley had zero time whatsoever when it came to being in the pocket yeah and uh that's that's kind of what you need up front you don't want any of your guys like Mason vley or any your running backs taking shots uh three four yards behind the line of scrimmage so um I think it all starts with the o line tonight um and I think we have to work from there so now let's switch it over let's talk defense and without our defense last week I don't think we would have been in that football game yeah I don't think so either uh they kind of had us beat in that first half but on the defensive side of the ball it's all about adjustments um that quarterback was running all over the field in that first half so I know coach jine and his defense probably had to look at a little bit of film on the iPad and uh do a little things couple things differently and that's why the second half was a little bit different and we got we were able to tie it up and make it into a good game but um yeah coming in into this seeing 40 plus points scored last week um from water playing Mount Vernon I believe uh you're going to have to believe that they can put up some points and you're going to have to for some turnovers the defense last week gave up 312 yards total 188 through the air or I'm sorry 124 in the air 188 on the ground so we said that they gave us a chance still gave up a bunch of yards and the thing that does not Shock me though Brandon Jackson Leading The Way with total tackles of 12 yeah 12 tackles and as a linebacker that's that's that's what you want every single game um what I really want to see tonight like I said earlier though is some of those D linemen getting in the back field and uh a guy like Joe Kish who I think was got injured in that first half last week that we get to see him a lot but um I'd like to see him get in the back field a couple times and uh get a tackle for loss and then you look at the rest of the tacklers there madx Stefan is the senior that had uh six total tackles and then you had Keegan Thompson I believe he is a sophomore this year he had seven along with Junior Mason vagley so two seniors and two underclassman we'll call them uh leading the way with the T tack so kind of good that you got a little bit of everyone for taking and helping you out last week we're going to run into a break I believe right now the band is coming out onto the field so we're going to run into a break we're going to give it a look at our sponsors we can't do it without them so thank you once again we're going to let the band get started we're about 15 minutes and 40 seconds away from kickoff we will be back with the aces wild pregame show right after this over welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show make sure you let us know where you're listening from uh last week I forgot to ask that I'm assuming Mrs Harris was down in Florida she hasn't missed a game I don't think in our five years so let us know where you're coming from shoot us a text comment on the stream uh we'll give you a shout out if we're able to Jared we look into the conference schedule no nobody played any conference games last week however everyone played so uh couple things that surprise you anything that didn't surprise you on on any of the scores last week uh I mean in our conference I think you're going to look at roxa and three Central this year so um anytime that we see rockan and central pop up this season um I think we're definitely going to have to they're going to have to have their number um but I know Salem's going to be decent this year and every time we play freeberg um it's always a battle so um I mean this this conference isn't easy and you're going to have to win almost every single game to have a share if not um win the whole thing last week waterl we'll just go through the whole conference and what you see up there on the board uh we'll go ahead and we'll just run down the order right there Roxana like you said we knew they were going to get a victory and they did they got the 270 victory over Jerseyville Salem they were also Victorious and they beat Centralia coach Herer talked in that Holton Ms coach's show he doesn't know the last time that they beat Centralia that's like like our route three rivalry to them so Salem beat Centralia 34-28 and the final team to get a victory last week was freeberg freberg won 28-20 over Fairfield ironically enough freeberg didn't have a week one opponent they were supposed to play Sparta but Sparta had to cancel their season luckily found free or uh I'm sorry Fairfield and got the win look the wrestle obviously we lost a m day 22-4 Breeze mod day had a big challenge in front of them they traveled two Highland got beat 14 to35 and Wood River graduated just about everybody last year if not everybody and got beat 42 to nothing over St Louis Gateway tech so sets the uh the standings right there right now we go into tonight's game talk a little bit about waterl right now and what they're going to be coming out showing us tonight I know that quarterback's going to be uh he's going to be a hassle uh watch a little film um he's a lefty so and he likes to run the ball a lot so um outside linebackers and um inside linebackers too are going to have to flow to the ball tonight Force everything back inside I think that's going to be the biggest thing forcing everything back inside where you know you have your uh Defenders flying to help you and Coach Germaine talked he said the guy last week he was pretty good this guy this week just as good if not better quicker he's not going to be as big last week their quarterback was pretty good size for modern day this guy not as big but he's going to be Shifty and last week against Mount Vernon the Bulldogs got beat 55 to 41 and they were LED all the way with their rushing though out of their quarterback 30 rushes 134 yards so four four and a half yards a carry you do that three times you get a first down kind of looks like are you sure that's not D vaguely from last year right there man 30 rushes in a game I'll tell you what uh hopefully he he was iced up this whole week ready for the ready for the Eagles man rest of the rushing for the Bulldogs a AR run heavy offense 305 yards rushing 108 yards through the air and uh the big thing though if Colombia can get ahead early it usually means good things for the Eagles yeah and I feel like our coaching staff can always always keep us in a game like this uh you know um waterl they're going to bring their fans out it's going to get Rowdy um both sides are going to talk a little Trash um but it's going to be fun I'm I'm excited for tonight fun indeed we have a beautiful night Sun's setting behind us luckily we don't have to look into the Sun but I think I'd rather look into the son than have the speaker right above our head it's always fun you know we've been doing this for 5 years and we were talking before the broadcast we said you know what's been the best place and I think msca we were there one time and it was a stream that went horribly it was a great game London little yeah the whole thing get recorded yeah the last two minutes of that game was fantastic we never hit the record button that might have been my fault in my first year doing this but uh it was a great broadcast but that was a brand new Press Box we had our own little room set up it was perfect had a door on it nobody could even come in and mess yeah and now this year we're making sure that the coach and staff's not tripping over wires Josh has at least got a foot rest up here he's he's lounging back so let's go in a little bit deeper here on this waterl team when you look at their offense last week or just their game last week the thing that shocked me when I was talking to coach Warner their uh my Mount Vernon's offense never touched the ball and had 28 points already they returned two kickoffs for a touchdown as well as two pick sixes so the Eagles got to be aggressive tonight yeah like you said earlier I mean you got to come out early uh try to get some points up on the board early CU like like I've said three times tonight I mean I know Mountain Vern's a pretty good team um but if you put up 41 points against a pretty good team like that uh Eagles better be ready uh for this one tonight we're now under 9 minutes till kickoff here in waterl in this week two right route three rivalry that's a hard thing to say so Jared you look at what's your three keys into tonight's game and trying to get the Eagles on the Wind column for the first time I'd say say my first one would be just forget about last week uh take what beat you into this week um I think that's one of the biggest things you got to just forget about all those mistakes you made but also remember them um to push you to be better tonight um I think you got to block out the crowd I think especially for some of these sophomores and juniors that are playing that haven't really played a lot of varsity football um it can get a little hectic uh whenever whenever it's a tight game um you got fans scream in I just think you got to be you got to be ready um from the beginning from from this first snap and then my third one would probably be just have fun um anytime you play water you're never going to forget it it's one of the games if you win of course that you'll remember the rest of your life um so yeah those would probably be my three remembering the rest of your life and coming to waterl and taking the game did not happen let's talk a little bit about the history of this Columbia and waterl waterl uh rivalry here that we got the most recent we meeting Columbia last year winning 9 nothing let's go back to that year that they were down here last water Victorious 49-6 I can't remember anything about that game so it must not have been very good for the Eagles yeah I don't know if we even broadcasted that game I don't know if we were not allowed to or something but yeah I don't I don't really remember that game I'm kind kind of don't want to remember it yeah I'm glad we don't remember it so the series streak Columbia obviously is uh on the one game win streak the series record though goes Columbia's way 19- 17 they are 10-8 under coach Horner and 7 and3 in the most recent 10 games Columbia is trying to stay on the uh The Winning Side here on the road openers and Coach horer is 14 and8 over his 22 years on the road opener so it's a good thing you got to get out and start it early and that's what we're going to have to do tonight you know I watched the coin toss I didn't even see if we're getting the football or not to get going guess we'll have to wait and see all right ladies and gentlemen we are now 7 minutes to kick off the Bulldogs have made their way out on the field the band is getting set up now so we will run to a break uh we'll stick with you here Columbia is making their way down to the field right now you look at we'll talk about that route three rivalry shirt who said proceeds used to go to songs for soldiers when it's over in Columbia water's got all their shirts on Columbia student section they're going with the wide out tonight yeah what's up with that it should be a blue outz weren't those shirts blue that the new ones they made they out three rivalry ones they were but coach sandstrom I believe with the blue crew they let the kids decide what they want to do and I guess they said we're going to wide out coming out are going to be the eagles with the white shirt white pants and white helmet waterl is going to be black on black with their orange helmets so just a pretty classic look with Columbia and water here with the black and orange and the blue and white they are going to do the national anthem right now we will run to a commercial break and we will be back right after the national anthemus Ro good rendition right there by the waterl Bulldogs band getting the national anthem going and now I guess they got their fights song as everyone is standing up doing the normal clap that you do with every fight song in America starting lineups are going to be the same just as we had last week um I'm not sure if the offense or defense is coming out onto the field first but we'll just go through the uh the starting lineups on the offensive side senior Dalton rainwater as a wide receiver tight end senior pton Andrews your running backs will be junior Cameron janick junor Logan Hicks and sophomore Jace Nelson quarterback in tonight will be Mason vagley the Jr and your lineman left tackle sophomore Owen minky left guard sophomore Brody furo Center led by senior Brandon Jackson Right Guard senior Joe Kish and right tackle Ben s Simmons for your defense all right on defense we got Lucas rebling playing at one of the corners uh other corn is going to be pton Andrews uh running those two safety spots uh we're going to have Mason Bagley and senior Sam Denny uh playing our linebacker spots middle linebacker senior Brandon Jackson outside linebacker cam Jan outside linebacker Logan Hicks and another linebacker senior mad step and 3D lineman for the Eagles senior Joe Kish sophomore Brody fur and Senior Ben Simmons well ladies and gentlemen we only have about two and a half minutes left in that Aces wild pregame show before it's Eagle football time it is Eagle football last night congratulations to our under Cass we have to congratulate the the eagle soccer team as they were victorious over Jabo last night I believe it was on penal or uh kicks at the end of the game I don't know too much about soccer but I did see that the Republic times uh posted a video of the game-winning kick so congratulations to the Eagles soccer team for being Victorious over Jabo that's always a good game uh volleyball I believe we talked about them last week they are still doing good in their games and they're still plugging away at wins I know they lost game one at Salem last night one game two and then ultimately one game three so they are continuing their success uh this year hopefully next week we will be getting able to talk to the other teams whether that be soccer I can give you some more information on them as well as Cross Country Golf and is there any other sports in the fall uh I think we got them all I think we got them all boys and girls I guess there's two boys and girls golf so that's what I was thinking so I am going to assume because it's usually how it happens that the Eagles won the coin toss decided to defer waterl said that they were going to receive so they will receive to our left side Keegan Thompson is going to be doing the kicking for the Eagles once again he'll be putting the ball down at the 40 yd line kicking right to left not much of a breeze here tonight in waterl as the flags are pretty much straight down earli earlier it was it was a little windy but it's kind of kind of died down a little bit theyy give it 3 weeks you'll be crying up here that it's too cold and you yeah you're going to have your gloves on you know I said there wasn't much wind and the ball Falls over that's on the tea so maybe there is some wind down there we're just not feeling it Columbia still packing the grand stands across the way there students great showing by the students in their white out cars are parked everywhere on the practice field and that's it for the aces wild pregame show we got Eagle football coming to you live from waterl Keegan Thompson with a short kick going to be muffed at about the 25 it's still floating around picked up by number 21 he's bouncing off of Everybody he brings it up to the 36 yd line where he's brought down by a slew of eagles and that wasn't a very good uh return there for the Bulldogs down last I think that was yeah last week Keegan Thompson has been doing a lot of kicking for us so um we'll be we'll be seeing a lot of him tonight if we uh score and we're get some of PS up in there water is going to pretty much come out they're going to be a run heavy team like we talked about in that pregame show they're going to be run heavy they're going to keep everybody in tight so the Eagles are going to have to hit their keys hit their blocks and uh linemen shouldn't be doing too much tackling tonight they should be plugging holes and the linebackers should really be flying the gaps I say they're going to keep it tight they go trips right empty backfield motion man number 12 runs to the right side quarterback's going to throw he's going to look deep right away he's got a man deep number five and it's about five yards too far and it falls incomplete waterl coming out slinging yeah first play one take a shot um try to beat looked like Danny over the top there with bagely as well um had a little looked like a tight end come out of that back field and run a a wheel toward to the other side of the field where um safeties kind of have to lock in a little bit more so great job there to kind of be in coverage that pass was intended for number five Chase Pete last week three receptions for 68 yards now the waterl Bulldogs getting up tight doubles to the left side they're going to run it to the left side with number 21 he's got a hole he's got the outside and he's got the 50 yd line he's got a plus more he's got it all the way down to the eagle 35 yd line good for about 20 yards and there is a penalty flag on the play number three Mason vley there is a penalty flag like that was sophomore daras sales there on that carry not sure what the penalty is here look like it's going to be against the Eagles going to be a face mask eag backing up now personal foul face mask at the 35 yd line brings it all the way up to the yain and 21 yd line so Eagles on their heels first 20 seconds into the game Ball's already at the Eagle 21 sails last week 17 rushes 127 yards little bit of speed out there whenever he got out wide yeah that was just a simple outside Zone there to the left got all the way to that Columbia sideline put his left foot in the ground and nobody was really there that's what I was saying earlier uh we saw a lot of those outside zones last week so you got to force Corners in those outside linebackers got to force everything back inside where your help's at officials getting together now I don't know if they're talking about the yardage That was supposed to be on the or the spot of the ball maybe yeah the yardage on the penalty they're picking it up from the 21 now they're going another five yards of more so that went from the 35 at 16 y line to the 21 to the 16 first down Bulldog I guess they didn't know where is that a spot foul gu oh no well it's first and 10 now on the 16 yd line yeah guess we won't know trips to the right side empty Back Field quarterback's going to run to the right side he's going to keep it himself he made one man miss number two for the Eagles is going to go out there along with number three to make the tackle good job by the eagles flying to the football cam janic first one there kind of got his hands on him um hopefully we see that a lot tonight where you got these linebackers just slowing to the ball and we need these Corners to come up and force everything back inside as I said on that last play but you'll probably hear me saying that all night cuz that's going to be one of the biggest things is keeping number 11 inside where all your help all those white hat hats down in five y Logan Hicks and Mason vagley on the tackle there with the two of them after a 5 yard gain I'm still trying to figure out the math in my head from the 36 to the oh is it 21 21 then down to the 16 down to the 16 that was a 20 yard penalty still doesn't make sense to me doesn't matter what I think though doubles to the right side running back to the left quarterback's going to give it to him he's going to run to the right Janik there once again good job getting the mid out there and making the tackle brought down by number zero cam Janik and number one pton Andrews and that Right Guard right tackle for water looking good so far on the on this first drive getting out there on those D lineman Joe Kish and it looks like Ben Simmons doing a great job of just sealing them off and let your running back four quarterback get to that outside um and turn it up field for first down first and goal from about the sixy now the officials down here he's wanting the play clock to reset the game clock to stop we had that last week yeah just blow the whistle again dude we had the same problem oh man the exact same problem that we had last week I talked to the guys up in the Booth they said you know restart the clock do it all at the same time now he gives the thumbs up now he resets it wow doubles the left side running back left they give it to the left side he bounces it out right now he's going to get a couple yards not enough to get into the end zone only a gain of three good job by the Eagles defense it's like Joe Kish is the last one to get up on the pile getting credit for the tackle inside the five here see if Coach G wants to bring in any any more be on that D line looks like he's going to stay with those three down linemen might move Brandon Jackson up to a lineman here see what he does Jackson typically a linebacker looks like he's standing around that defensive end spot he might just be a linebacker standing up let's see what he does he's going to put his hand in the grass in the turf second and three from the three quarterback Dive Right up the middle he's going to be hitting the back field and it's going to be short third down third and goal from the one who was in there in the backfield first Jared did you get to see look like Joe Kish again and you had Furlow and it looked like maybe uh Brandon Jackson again from that back side bring up third goal from about two and a half Y Line Brody furo the sophomore 510 185 he's sandwiching between Jackson who comes in at 511 200 and on the other side you got Joe Kish 6' 305 got some meat in the game four down territory right here too motion man they fake it to him they give it to the running back who goes right up the middle into the end zone for a touchdown D sail takes it in for a 2yd [Applause] touchdown hard to do anything there when you get a 15 20 yard penalty really backs you up in a hurry yeah and all we really saw on that drive they took a shot on that first play and then just went run heavy there using that sails and master hogy from the back field number 20 on to do the kicking number one will be your holder for the Bulldogs good snap good hold kick is up and it is right down Broadway so that'll take the Mandy Maguire group scoreboard waterl Bulldogs seven Columbia Eagles zero the store just 3 minutes and 4 seconds into this game hopefully the Eagles as you saw there real quick we scrolled through that George Weber Chevrolet is going to be sponsoring all of the Eagles touchdowns this year this year the Eagles scored two in week one so that's $200 from George Weber Chevrolet to the Columbia Eagles Athletics so thank you to George Weber Chevrolet for the sponsorship what's what's something you want to see out of this offense this week Alex well besides the obvious and I want to see some blocking I want to see the Eagles Take a couple chances and now and that has to go with the blocking you can't take a chance if you don't have the time so we got a lot of routes that are three three level routes so I'd like to see if we we hit a short route here or deep route there um obviously we hit riing last week for a deep route so I'd like to see something like that and I'd like to see Jay Nelson uh get out in the open field and turn the Jets on I think that could be fun and exciting to watch see if we can get something going on this kickoff return here you know uh that always brings a lot of hype on that sideline for Coach Kendall and the whole coaching staff so see if we can get this momentum back on our side now the officials can't figure out what ball they're going to kick so they're coming around now they're all wanting to talk about which ball is going to be the kicking ball is it Columbia's ball waterl and I shouldn't give so much trouble to the officials a lot of times they're hard to come by so a lot of these officials are playing a game tonight turn around do maybe a game in the afternoon and a night game tomorrow night so got to give credit to them I definitely couldn't do it I don't know if I could be a ref especially in high school football I don't think I could handle the the people I couldn't handle Junior Eagles basketball doing that referee so be the Eagles now receiving the ball looks like Nelson and rainwater are your two deep men rling and Thompson are the short guys at the 20 it's going to be rainwater from about the eight he's trying to cut up to the middle of the field getting chased down by a couple Bulldogs where he's hit at the 21 return so the Eagles offense by number 41 he's going to start over there 8 minutes and 50 seconds to go in this first quarter and another thing you need to see here Jared need to see the Eagles offense get something going and get a rhythm yeah uh I know in the past coach honer likes to call it Tempo keeping that Tempo up especially on your first drive after you're down seven nothing I mean coming into this atmosphere you're already down I'd say 7 14 nothing so um this is a big first drive here you got to you got to make sure that you watch a lot of film this week and um you know what's going on Double Stack for the Eagles split out pretty wide motion man's going to be Jason ellon number 22 it's going to be a fake to him going to be vaguely right up the middle he's got a good seam he's got keep crawling there yeah he got five yards gain five good hole there by the Eagles defense or offensive line and hopefully if watch if watch their film a little bit they know how fast Jason Nelson is so um putting him in motion there on that first play of the game thinking that we're going to get him the ball there and get him some open space out there and open field I didn't even seeed were they on man and they flew with them they flew with them well that shows you that you're going to be manto man got one safety deep so he's going to be playing Zone they still look like they're in that man look oh no Nelson's going to be the motion man he's going to go to Pistol back it's going to be a handoff right away up to him and it's going to be fumbled by vaguely tried to pull it at the last second loss of five four take us to a third and nine in that play didn't have any time and also I didn't even realize on that first one I was wrong whenever they sent Jason motion that osar hogy who was guarding him just went to that animal spot as a linebacker and he's just blitzing right there and I think he was the one that caus that fumble there so that left tackle is going to have to guard his man and get to that linebacker if he can trips to the right side water showing a bunch of blitzing guys ostrog he looks like he's going to be blitzing he pulls off trips right running back right 738 on this third and N opening drive for the Eagles going to be a straight pass vaguely sets his feet throws it out and it's going to be dropped INE by number five Maddox stefen wouldn't be a big gain but it would have been better than a drop that'll bring up a four off the bad spot off the hands yeah that was just a simple out out there by madx stefen um only about four or five yards down field would have had to make a play to make a first down but uh brings out the putt team says second down over there but it's really four now we're first was first first and nine vaguely going to be your punt guy now it's off vaguely standing at the 11 Return Man for waterl standing at his own 45 I don't know if the ball was tipped they are calling it tip so the running into the punter means nothing being as the ball did get tipped so pun was a punt of 10 blocked by number 52 not the start you wanted not the start you wanted Gavin lick so that's going to put the Eagles defense once again in bad territory with the waterl Bulldogs having great field position starting at the Eagles 33 I will say you cannot miss Matt on that Columbia Eagles sideline man Crips got a safety green vest on with the reflectors sun is beaming off of them right now empty backfield for the Bulldog trips to the left side tight end right running back right he's a motion man going to be a roll out for the quarterback he's wanting to go deep he's going to have to tuck it and run now looked for a big hit there for the Eagles 11 quarterback just spun off could have been a gain of three turns into a gain of seven brings up a second and three that was designed to be a little roll out you had this tight end and receivers on that other side running all three running routes but that quarterback just decided to put his head down and gain seven there three yard to go for the that's something that has I'd say changed since I'd say five seven years with these running quarterbacks I mean if you're going to roll out with uh your quarterback and they can turn it up field that's always a great thing water breaks a huddle under 10 seconds now on the play clock drips to the right side two guys in the back field right back and go right up the middle he's got enough for a first down brought down I believe it's going to be by number two and number four for the Eagles Logan Hicks and Sam Denny looks like the eagles are kind of on their heels again [Music] now another first down for the Bulldogs enter into the Red Zone we need to get a red zone sponsor another first down that would be a good one there when I was at missou go Tigers they got the victory last night the caseih Red Zone I don't think I'll ever forget that I don't know why I remember it doubles to the right side sniffer back right quarterback has a running back to his left side 5 seconds on the play clock he gets it off fakes the hand off nope quarterback keeps it good job Brandon Jackson nothing going on the play Brandon Jackson with the big stop loss on the play number 55 great job there by brand Jackson just getting in that back field and we saw that last week who was that um one of the defensive linemen who would get in that back field three or four times it might have been uh I want to say it was Simmons was it Simmons yeah he'd get in that back field and kind of just look around and the guy would run right past him and that's kind of what Brandon Jackson did there you got to pitter patter your Treet once you get to that spot and just read that read where that ball goes and just try to get a hand on him and all your all your buddies will float the ball brings up a second and 14 now 5 minutes to go in the first quarter empty backfield motion man's going to come back with the quarterback High snap brought down false starten false start snap false start on the Bulldogs number five was the motion man for water I believe that was sails if I remember correctly I'm looking for the lineup here you got the lineup with you yeah oh look at that shows that you're paying attention what I was talking about there Chris Pete was the motion man I was thinking of last week when we had about a fourth and 17 right here oh and all a sudden it turned into a 38 yard touchdown yeah so it is going to be second and 19 is what they're going to give it ball at the 29 yd line going to be a snap that goes right to the quarterback he's looking deep and it's got madx Steff there oh Denny jumps the route at the last second gets knocked down but great defense there by the defensive backs for the Eagles that receiver almost had to play defense there I think Sam Denny had both of his hands on that ball and that wide receiver had to come back and kind of t knock it out of his hands great job there by Denny I I knew that play was coming Alex I told you man they did it on second down though not fourth and you got to take a chance there for the Bulldogs if there's a if it's a pick you got them at the 10 if it's a pass interference it's 15 good play call there by the Bulldogs good defense by The Eagles Pete's going to be the motion man going to be out wide to the left side Eagles are going to have to chase him down force him in do a great job of doing it nothing going just three yards on the play brings up a fourth and long I believe that was number two Logan Hicks there who was just riding with that right or the left tackle there and forced him to for go back inside and cut cut up field um and that's where he had number three Mason vley and number one pton Andrew get to that side and make a tackle there a fourth down and 16 y to go fourth and 16 you got to have a nickel formation here I would imagine correct yeah looks like Keegan Thompson's going to come out play that kind of center field type guy Jackson now is no longer going to be a lineman he's going to be the lone linebacker Eagles got everybody back deep lot of motion going on up front it's going to be a screen pass Eagles did a good job fighting off the blocks they got to make a tackle and they do Mason vaguely in the open field turnover on downs and that's what you need once again out of that Eagles defense got a little nervous there we only had about two three guys on this side M vley was good enough to come up P P's feet make good tackle there colia I think that's my new word this p p already 15 y so that forces a turnover on down Eagles offense is going to start over now at the 15 yd line 433 on the game clock game clocks to our right side Eagles are currently moving right to left going to be on the left hash hey the first half of the first quarter has been all on this side of the field though I haven't had to step up and look yet we can't see the other half of the field drips to the right side running back right lone receivers rainwater to the left it's going to be a now route thrown to Jace Nelson and it's going to fall incomplete on a very bad ball by Mason right there luckily it fell and it wasn't a backwards pass it was very close to being a backwards pass that would have been about a loss of about seven or eight there yeah brings up still second and 10 and some of those you got to worry CU it's like almost like a lateral so you got to get on the ball was incomplete waterl coaches are asking if that was a backwards pass or not referees are saying nope it was forward doubles now for the Eagles ball still on the left hash vagle is going to be in the back field by himself janic is going to be a sniffer back he's right behind the guard looks like motion man Nelson it's a hand off to Nelson he's in the open field get the Jets on Jace he gets enough yards to get one yard pass theine of scrimmage he ran about 30 yards the game two officially had me fooled I thought he got up field more than that gain of two hopefully that's what we see a little bit out of the Eagles trying to get outside use a little bit of our speed to our advantage now the ball's going to be on the other hash the right hash we're going to have about a third and eight here see what coach Horner dials up third and eight under four now in the first quarter four down lineman for the Bulldogs two linebackers showing a blitz right up the middle looks like one's going to back off and he does they fake the hand off the Eagles do and it's vaguely right up the middle but he gets popped by Kobe ooster hogy gain of the nothing more and brings up a fourth down and five 11 Kobe Oster hogy ooster hogy we've said his name a bunch already offensively and defensively for the Bulldogs yeah looks like he's going to be their playmaker tonight and this year based off last week's stats bring up a fourth down four y to go anytime you have a quarterback that can Rush 30 times and take a beating and play defense good athlete vley back to punt looks like Mason's going to try to let this play clock go down a little bit and he does last one got tipped this one does not it's a spiral it gets off great bounce for the Eagles bounced initially at about the 4 47 yd line on the eagle side of the field and goes over into water territory from the 38 we're going to run to a commercial break real quick it's going to be a fast one as the teams are switching fields we will be back right after this [Applause] welcome back to water we the rout three rival sees the Bulldogs leading seven nothing right now wing back to the right side running back's going to run to the right side right behind him he's got first down yards and only about two more 2 DZ sails on the carry brought down going to be enough for a first down gain of 12 they need to figure out the speaker above our head ball right now at the 50 yd line waterl is going Tempo they up to the line of scrimmage they under Center this time good job by Stefan forcing it in good job by vagle running the gaps gaining nothing water tried to catch us napping we weren't napping that's all is thaty has come out and force everything back inside that's a great job that madx did gain of one having all the eagles that'll bring up a second down and nine yds to go second and nine now for the Eagles or for the Bulldogs rather sorry Eagles are on defense game's kind of slowed down a little bit now Eagles are going to have three down linemen four linebackers and four defensive backs doubles to the left side quarterbacks uh shotgun formation he's going to run it to the right good job Eagles forcing it back inside keeping contain good job there by number one for the Eagles and number five up making the tackle that's something proba going to see all just getting thatall trying to get as many yards with it as he can so uh great job there by the Eagles flowing to the ball bringing up a big third down here gain of two that'll bring up a third down and seven yds to go third and seven ball at the [Applause] doubles to the left side now running back to the left side of the quarterback hard count Eagles didn't watch the football jumped off Sid flag before the s first quarter first down correction gave the Bulldogs a first down go but it's only a gain of five third and two manageable third and two now for the Bulldogs Eagles got to make a stop once again they do a good job forcing it in Miss tackles though gain a seven and a first down now to the Eagles 35 Y Line look like five MX Stefan was there to make that first play short of that first down marker but good enough to pick up first down for the Bulldogs with 130 left here in this first quarter Bulldogs are driving yard now it's good for a bulldog first down same formation for the Bulldogs once again tight end right sniffer back right single split outs motion man's going to be Pete number five very very close snap there running into the motion man given to number 21 he goes to the right side good for five CHS being a big run back right now tonight gain of five bring up a second down and five yards to go second and five for the Bulldogs I don't know if the Bulldogs have really had a negative yard play in this first quarter could possibly be the last play of the quarter here as we're approaching 40 seconds on the game clock empty back field trips to the left side quarterback's going to roll to the left good job sealing janic asking for a hold there was no hold whatsoever Kobe ostra hogi puts his head down gets 15 yard and I think it was just because I saw janic fly up right away I kind of watched him on that whole play he he wanted a hold right away there was no hold they just forced him down into nothing and he's got to put that outside shoulder to the outside yeah keep forcing everything back in CU once that quarterback gets that sideline um and no Corner could even get to him uh there's not much coming back from that that's going to be a first down and more and then to just kind of jog after the after the quarterback there kind of took himself out of it trips to the left side running back left last play of the quarter it's going to be a reverse number 12's going to get it as he comes underneath the play number 12 Brady rose on the carry nearly a miss hand off two Logan Hicks that's what I was kind of watching I didn't even see that it was going to be a reverse 15 seconds now on the game clock and you can hear the water coaches calling for for water so that's probably and it looks like it's going to take us to the end of the first quarter pretty quick first quarter waterl started off pretty big they got the opening kickoff the face maskk personal foul that turned into a 20 yard face the first quarter with the score took the Bulldogs into Eagle territory they got a touchdown Eagles had a couple stops nothing going though for the Eagles offense we're going to head to a break we will come back with second quarter action from the route three rivalry right after this welcome back to welcome back to waterl in that route three rivalry where the Eagles are trailing this one seven to nothing switching the field around water down to our left side they got the ball second and seven from the 12 quarterback's going to take the snap hand the ball off to number 21 great job there Cameron Jan fighting off the block out of the big linemen and making the tackle going to be a loss on the play Cameron Janet and number 77 Brody furo we really don't on that yeah that'll bring up a third down in seven yards let us know where you're listening from tonight Eagles trailing this one 7 nothing in the second quarter doubles to the right side we'll call it trips to the right side empty backfield quarterback's going to go to the right side good job Brandon Jackson running the alleys running them down quarterback number 11 and forcing a fourth down good job good speed there by Brandon brought down by number 13 Keegan Thompson definitely going to go for it here so see what Coach G wants to do looks like Brandon Jackson's going to come off gain of four yards I believe M St coming on corre another guy coming on looks like 71y yep sophomore yep so Stephan came on and he ran right back off so I think we're bringing a little bit more beef in for this play 10 seconds on the play clock got to be careful with that if you're waterly motion man once again is Pete they're going to fake it to him go with number 21 he's going to try to cut up field and he does he's going to be 21 d Sals and he's going to get it good for a first down brings up first and goaly and number zero Cameron Jan good job running there by waterl running back getting up field and getting yards needed four yds just enough for another Bulldog first down first and goal from the four yd line I'm sorry I'm laughing that's oh man first and goal waterl taking their time being pretty methodical as they move down the field they've had control here tonight doubles of the right side tight end to the left sniffer back left quarterback's going to run left he's going to get in front of his lead block and he's going to keep fighting I don't know if he got then he got to about the one maybe the two the before getting brought down sto by number four Sam Denny and number 14 Jackson belman belman and Denny get credit for the tackle there gain of two here comes the same exact play Alex ooster hogy ran in front of his lead Blocker on that one he wanted to get in the end zone ball on the two yd line second goal from the two motion man moved over to be a sniffer back quarterback's moving everyone around it's a sneak right up the middle and as I was describing everything I was going to say touch here comes a sneak he lined up like he was going to be in shotgun formation and he had one guy go out to his right and all of a sudden he's under Center taking the snap and he's in the end zone great job there by Oster hogy he he was pointing moving a guy over to the sniffer back pushing a guy over to be the wide receiver moving another guy from an inside spot to the out and all in the meantime just walks right up the middle and gets into the [Applause] endzone water on for the pat good snap good hold four Eagles get back there but none of them get close enough and that extra point is good that takes the Mandy McGuire group scoreboard [Music] columia water leading this one with 14 14 we're going to run to a break and we will be back with the rest of the second quarter right after this [Applause] welcome back to waterl where the Eagles Trail at 14 nothing 920 high kick for the Bulldogs going to be returned at the 15 by Dalton rainwater he's just running straight up the Middle with his guys in front of him good job recognizing it and getting after it he gets up to the 33 yd line and Jared I'll say it again Eagles offense got to get something going number 41 har drive we thought we would have had something going there uh with Mason breaking a couple tackles on two or three runs there but um definitely need to get something going need to get the ball out in our in our receivers hands a little bit and try try to get the ball on the perimeter let our athletes make some plays Eagles are going to have everybody standing at the line of scrimmage we're going to go to the same formation that we had last week two pistol backs we'll call it with vaguely in the backfield Nelson and Hicks Cameron janik's going to be your sniffer back to the left side they're going to run it to the left it's going to be Hicks getting hit at the line of scrimmage nothing going on the carry and a penalty flag on the play brought down by number usually around the area of Chop block and that's what it is so chop block Jared for official clarification when you got a guy engaged up high and somebody hits him low or vice versa can't do it can't do it I was just admiring this flat screen TV that water's got on their sideline down here yeah watero everyone now is going to that huddle software we'll call it and water's got it over here and they got a whole TV screen he got its own carrying case wrapped up and everything pretty fancy stuff haven't seen anybody sitting at it though other than a couple coaches can't carry that around like an iPad same formation now it's just to the right side Ballin on the left hash it's going to be flipped this time to Hicks he's got a lot of room and just barely gets tripped up that could have been trouble there if he breaks one or two tackles there and he was tripped up by probably still be running I didn't realize that that chop block is a 15 yd spot foul so that was probably on that play turned into a first and shoot 204 yeah 23 24 right so so it brings up a second down and 20 after the run that we thought had a little bit going for it turns out tripped him up by the Sho strings trips to the left side single receiver to the right is rainwater running back to the left low snap vley catches it he's going to throw it out to rling he gets behind one blocker he's going to gain about seven and at least brings up now a third down and 14 down by number 41 Harrison bask number 30 Owen one of the guys that does the line the line judge over there got rolled up on a little extracurricular like Logan Hicks gain of seven one the Bulldogs kept fighting all the way past the whistle that'll bring up a third down knocked over one of the CH y to go he's questionable to return get Aaron Andrews down there to give us an injury report trips to the right side ball on the left hash running back left going to be quick pass to the left caught by Hicks there's three waterl Bulldogs gain of two to number two Logan Hicks in for a third down and 14 tackled immediately by number 41 man third and 14 We R in a two-y route brings up a fourth down and 12 yeah you can't you can't start your drives off getting bad penalties uh jot block is not not going to be good on First and 25 going to be a timeout eagles with 651 on the game clock in the first half we'll run to a break we'll give you a look at our sponsors and we'll be back with the second quarter here in watero right after this welcome back to waterl where the Eagles are going to be punting Mason vagley takes the high snap gets it off and it's a short kick this time it hits at the 50 and it's going to take a waterl bounce where it's finally going to be touched at the Eagles 48 yd line as we were on the break we were just talking our watches went off it's over 90 DB we're going to go death if we sit here for over a half hour feel guy talks every syllable so waterl is going to take over once again in Eagles territory at the 48 yd line 642 remaining and waterl could do a lot of damage right here if they get in the end zone going up three scores going into halftime yeah 6 minutes Columbia could not get the ball back if water takes their time here so we need a big stop big turnover poer Augie giving some signals to the wide receivers and it's going to go to a running back however going to be good for about maybe seven Sam Den before Sam Denny is able to make the tackle pretty good hole there for the running back to run in yeah and I've seen two or three times T night there's been two or three guys playing after the whistle so I'm calling it right now Alex there's going to be a flag for that coming up here pretty soon that's something whenever you always play water to you always have to have your head on a swivel a little bit cuz they're always trying to come knock you out any time they can get that's what rivalries are about everyone at the line of scrimmage for the Bulldogs quarterback keeps it himself he's going to get enough for maybe five or six first down what' you see on that play Jared looks like we got a freshman in the game now for the Eagles K musoff and he was kind of in on that play I kind of like what I saw from him uh through the D not the D Lin the O linan kind of to the side and was able to get his hands on that running back kind of got dragged a little bit but uh able to be the first one there and make contact is he the big boy in the nose guard position right now I think he is the on this left side over left side okay can't see a number he's got his jersey all rolled up MH going to be the reverse play once again and tripped up good job Brandon Jackson he wasn't going to be fooled on that I read that like a book when was the last time you read a book um dang probably eighth grade put you on the spot there sorry Miss Adams if you're listening after the big play by The Eagles thir yard loss three three I was doing math in my head where they were three yard loss on the play brings up second and 13 from the eagle 39 yd line 455 remaining in the first half quarterback play action pass he's looking deep he's got a guy over there and it's going to be pton Andrews who's going to intercept the football it's intercepted by The Eagles great job andw getting to the football and making a play and making up for that play last week I think he was the one on that fourth and 17 if I'm not mistaken who was feeling for his wide receiver kind of got beat over the head there um great great Redemption there get get his first interception of the year for pton Andrews I'm not saying it looked like it hit the ground but it looked like it hit the ground it looked like it hit the ground but we'll take it interception for the Eagles good job pton the Andrews that's two weeks in a row now forcing turnovers out of that eagle defense so always good to be able to see that now Eagles defense got to capitalize offense yeah Eagles offense sorry pistol back running back to the right sniffer back janic to the right lone receiver to the left is rainwater Bagley takes a snap it's going to be a Pitch it's going to be Hicks he's got his eyes down field tackled by three waterl Bulldog Defenders loss of a yard on the play second and 11 he was brought down by number kind like that play call there trying to get your athletes out in open space when you don't have those linemen uh get into their man fast enough I mean those split seconds matter so whenever you have to and whenever you're running outside Zone I feel as a r or right tackle running to the right uh it's a little bit harder for you you got to get to the outside and force them all the way back in so um see if our linemen are able to do that for the rest of the night hopefully they can rainwater and belman are your wide receivers now stepan's going to be the sniffer back to the left side Eagles are going to hand it off they're going to go up the middle Jason Nelson doesn't get anything maybe to the line of scrimmage number 22 jce Nelson on the carry loss of one officially now third and 11 look across the way coach Warner he just got his arms out not much going for the Eagles offense tonight loss of a yard some you don't really want to hear I don't know bring up a third down in 11 I don't really know if you want to take a shot down field uh I mean it would almost be as a pun if you want to Chuck it down there and we's see what we do here on third down though as you know on fourth down we're most likely going to punt it I would hope bamman and Stefan went off janick and Hicks came on four down lineman for the Bulldogs motion man is Jay Nelson play action pass this time vagle is going to have to make something happen runs into a couple Defenders he keeps his feet moving he's trying to get something going number but there's too many Bulldogs in the back field loss again number brings up a fourth down and the Eagles are going to have to punt loss of another yard on that fall into the ball really nice too every time uh you see one guy kind of get their hands on the the guy with the ball see three four five more orange hats flying uh which is everything you want as a as a defensive coordinator of course Mason's going to have to watch the play clock we're at 15 seconds I would use up every second I could yeah as there's only 240 on the clock but waterl I believe they have all three of their timeout so they could try to make something happen here Mason lets it go to three before he punts he gets it off he gets hit there is a penalty on the play now is that going to be that is a personal foul it ring or there is aeny flag well it's a penalty foul So it's 15 yards so I don't really care what it is what is it it's you are right the roughing and then there's running into the kicker one of one of them is automatic first down the other one's just like five yards yeah one and one's if you hit the plant leg one's if you hit the kicking leg regardless I believe the Eagles are going to have a first down oh I've got hit kicking a Pat I tell you what that was probably the hardest I've ever got hit in my life slash the Jersey b game that's for another day that Jersey B story I don't really want to talk about that one learned something new this week you talk about the slash did you know the hashtag symbol yeah is an octo Thorp octo Thorp that is the official name why coach stump knew that I have no idea buten first he filled me in on that this week so you call it a slash I call it an octo Thorp I did not know that yeah learn something new every day thanks coach dump 224 remaining before that Life Church halftime show Eagles got to make something happen ball on their own 38 yd line 224 remaining in this first half motion man is Hicks penalty on the play penalty flag on delay of game on the Eagles he our the play here y yeah that was my senior year as well I guess he was the on that play I'm going to say you didn't work out very well I'll tell you that you weren't very hidden first I literally sat right behind the left guard like this and they gave me the ball and I only got about five yards so after the 5 yard penalty for the delay game going to run the same play here for the Eagles Hicks goes back to the pistol back position High snap brought down going to be handed off to Hicks nothing going once again loss two of another six tackled for a loss by number 11 Kobe ostrogi Eagles moving backwards yeah this o line just can't get anything going right now loss of five yards on that walking back to the ball with two minutes left and looks like we don't really have any Tempo um I don't know if coach Warner just wants to get the halftime right now only down 14 or 20 just going to take our time here and try to get down field in minute 50 under two minutes now like you said you're going to get the kickoff after halftime so maybe that's his mindset doubles running back to the left side manto man on the outside for the defensive backs and there is everybody in the back field right away for waterl vley is going to have to scramble he throws it left-handed good job getting something to happen and if I'm Mason vley I think I'm going to losing my mind on a couple of these uh these linemen there yeah I think he said go and there was two guys in the back field right away yeah and you're a quarterback I mean as a quarterback that frustrates BR third you work all week 20 yard to go learning what's going to happen through throughout the game um yeah they might be a little bit bigger they might be a little bit faster than you but um there got to come to a point where you're starting to get you're starting to get mad yourself letting these guys get past and hit my guys so hopefully we see some fire in this o line here come out with 130 left trips to the right side rolling outright going to be caught by belman he tries to come up the middle he does he's got a good seam gets up to the original line of scrimmage 14 plus a yard brings up a fourth down and brought down by number 52 Gavin time out waterl 120 remaining in the first half and Jared to go off on your point as a quarterback you're right you do get a little aggravated because they've got four linemen that are down now they probably are sending some blitzers and I'm just not seeing it right now but you got four down linemen your offensive line you got five yeah so you're already one guy up you got a running back back there with you so now you're two guys up yep and as a quarterback obviously your eyes are downfield and once you get hit one time and you got to scramble it's in the back of your mind so last week we talked a couple times we said man I wish Mason would have stayed in the pocket just a little bit longer he didn't have to scramble well when he hasn't doesn't have much confidence it's hard to stay in the pocket right there his mindset is oh man I got to go I got to get out of here and that and that forces everything off off your tempo's off your timing's off a snap gets thrown off it just it screws everything up so when they say that the game is won and lost in the trenches it is that is probably one of the most accurate statements in football yeah and I'd say another one is defense wins championships I think that's another thing I think your defense always always keeps you in the game no matter you're playing against Patrick Mahomes or mark buer it doesn't matter who it is I think your defense is always the one that's going to carry carry you throughout um a season a game um yeah you're going to have those five six games probably that they're going to be scoring 40 something points but got to look at the other side and um not not allowing a lot of points is always a big thing too soag we're going tot now fourth and eight for the Eagles from their own 40 yd Line 120 to go in the first half we are going to elect the punt water's done a great job getting in the back field on every punt tonight this time they do not good punt going to be hit at the 37 yd line gives a good Eagle bounce and gets down to the 23 Y Line 111 on the clock before that Life Church halftime when we get into halftime we're going to let it go uh to a break not going to have too much to say today and we're not going to have too much to show obviously because the Eagles marching band will not be on the field so we'll run to a break we'll get our thoughts together on the first half try to find some scores from around the area and we're going to talk a little bit more about that defense wins championships I think you got the defensive mindset my offensive mind you can't win a game zero to to zero congrats your defense doesn't let him score but I can't get the ball in the end zone so I think you got to have that offense we'll talk about that more in the second half could do that waterl takes the field now they have two timeouts to me this is the biggest 111 of the game I don't know about you but you're still in this game 14 nothing you know you get the ball coming out anything can happen if it goes down 21 nothing quick it's tough coming back three scores quads to the right side for the Bulldogs and I think they're going to have to call a timeout coach Rose was running down here at the last second they didn't know how to get set up running back was backed by the quarterback then he went over to be a doubles receiver to the left and then all of a sudden he turned around and ran to the right I think they would have got the play off but it would have been close so they were going to go quads right single receiver left Eagles had three down linemen so looks like they're going to want to sling it a little bit and like we had talked if you can get waterl into those drives and those Downs where they have to throw it typically we like our chances so hopefully they try to get a little too aggressive here and the Eagles are able to capitalize I think both teams are tired already because they both just walked all the way to both of their Sidelines so that's one thing to fire you know for a waterl game you would think you'd be fired up but you want to you want to be out there waterl is broken their huddle they're standing just players in the middle of the field right now Eagles are still talking with Coach [Applause] Germaine water student section here getting a little [Applause] Rowdy all right come on biggest 111 of the game right here empty backfield quads to the right side single receiver left one wide receiver is going to come in motion and it's not going to have anything going going to be a loss on the play K muscot ISE on the tackle loss of two The Freshman making a great play like that you I didn't even see that ball coming this way until the last second I'm not going to lie to you they kind of got me on that one up trips to the right side empty backfield quarterback's rolling to the right he's got a guy open at the 30 and it falls incomplete bounced around a little bit Eagles almost had a shot at getting it but it falls aimlessly to the ground brings up a third and 12 and if I'm waterl here I'm just going to take a knee or do something to uh let this clock run out because I don't think coach Warner is going to call a timeout you never know that guy over there talk about offensive mind in the first half would you think that we have positive yardage nope in this first half I I do not think so either we'll see if we can get with howi or Sharky clasn the statisticians for the Eagles see if we can get a get an answer Corners trips to the left side quarterback rolls left once again it's going to be right in front of belman who's going to make the tackle's pass is complete to number and a good tackle gain of about 10 not enough for the first down brings up a fourth down and four good job by Jackson keeping him in front and keeping him in bounds there uh look like that wide receiver might have fought tried to get out of bounds but looks like w is probably not even going to run a play here on Fourth and five they're going to let this one go right into overtime overtime halftime look at me yeah we'll take overtime I'll take overtime right now hey we were down 14 nothing last week first with the score 14 all right with that we go into that Life Community Church halftime show where the Eagles are trailing the bugs 14 to nothing water B's going to come out on the field Columbia's going to go off to the right side they're going to get their halftime speeches going and Coach Jermaine and Coach Warner got a lot of talk about and a lot of adjustments to make we're going to start this Life Community Church halftime show and we will be back right after this welcome in ladies and gentlemen into this Life Church halftime show presented by Life Community Church in Columbia Illinois make sure you go give them a follow and see what they have going on out there on bottom Avenue waterl band out here they've got a full display of they got a contraption that they rolled out here and everything so they're doing a great job at halftime the mascot race is going to be making a return this year Columbia mascot last year the eagle was Victorious by about 10 15 yards it was a great race at the start they do a 100 yard Dash from Endzone to end zone so the two mascots are setting up right now on our right side they will be going right to left the Eagles are in the end zone to the right side of us 920 in this first part of the halftime and then they'll put on another 3 minutes for the athletes to stretch it looks to me like Joe Kish is over talking to trainer sepich so he was plagued with an ankle injury last week before the game he didn't get in to play the whole game and I think that second quarter I don't know if we really saw him too much in that second quarter as well so something to watch there and there is another Eagle over there talking with James he does not have his shoulder pads on so I cannot see a number so that's obviously not what you want to uh to be seeing when the Eagles are already trailing 14 nothing and you're going to be losing two of your starters so not what the Eagles are needing here tonight in the route three rivalry Eagles really didn't have too much going at all whatsoever in that first half I do not believe we were just talking up here uh with Mr Wetzel who's doing the the cameras once again thank you to Mr Wetzel for doing it and Mr week Who's down in the end zone this year doing the cameras but I was talking to Mr wetel and we don't think we had a first down that whole first half uh if we did it was because of a penalty and then when we got something going to get it into the second manageable we had a penalty or a loss loss on the play so nothing going for the Eagles offensively we do get the football coming out of the live Church halftime show so we'll see if we can get something going after [Applause] [Music] that once again we would like to thank our sponsors for all that they do for the broadcast the sponsors without them we could not do anything without them so if you would be interested in getting into becoming a sponsor contact coach Warner and we can get you the information that you need to become one of them you see them up on the screen right there 23 of them this year uh without them we could not do it without you the main sponsors that we have Cory Pharmacy he is our scoreboard sponsor when we do have the home games the Mandy Maguire group is our sponsor for the scoreboard on the kchs broadcast uh Aces wild pregame sponsor you can listen to that every night or every Friday night at 6:30 steak uh Holton meets steakhouse burgers our Holton meets coaches show that gets aired on Thursdays or Fridays uh depending on when myself and Coach Horner and Coach Jermaine are able to get together coach owner with the athletic director duties he's always got something going on so we got to make our schedule work around his so make sure you get to listen to the Holton meets coaches show and like I mentioned before we are currently on the live Community Church halftime show the band is done with their halftime show they're starting to get things off the field in the mascots starting to do their stretching waterl Bulldog he's feeling himself right now he's got a little bit of a strut going he's got a 100 yard dash in front of him along with the Columbia Eagle thank you whhs marching Bulldog running how about 100 yard dash once again thank you to our pregame meal sponsor the First National Bank of water purchased the meal so thank you for purchasing the meal for the Players and's Pub for providing the meal they did the cooking so hopefully they are able to uh some good food now and hopefully the second half will be a little bit thanks both schools support of such a meaningful cause and now before halftime comes to a close once again I'm sure you could money from the T-shirt sales was raised four songs for soldiers and that is going to be in two weeks we will try to get with Dustin R next week and talk about songs for soldiers and everything that he's done in his life in his career and where songs for soldiers is today will begin the race Jared's back up here he had to make a concession stand run Mas got a Gatorade and a couple Waters Jared just in time for the mascot race and they are off the Columbia eagle gets a little bit of a head start I don't even know if the mascot cares if he has a head start he's got a 5-yard lead for the Eagles Bulldog's catching up but I don't think it's going to be enough it's going to be another victory for the Columbia Eagles in the mascot race conratulations Eagles two years in a row for the Eagles mascot coming out of Victorious Jared let's hope that something like that that's what the eagles need on the football side of the field and maybe they can get something going yeah might been a little false start that by Fall start you mean like a three yard Head Start yes well that's okay maybe the Bulldog just didn't hear it maybe his ears weren't working as well and uh he didn't hear the uh the horn going off so Jared we made it to the uh live Church halftime show and couldn't have come at a better time for the eagles they needed to be able to regroup in the name of the game adjustments at this time of the game yeah uh I think on the offensive side of the ball is where we kind of need to look especially on that offensive line um it's all that's where everything starts you're not going to score any points if you can't move the ball down the field so um we need that o line to just give Mason one to two Mor not even just to give him one more second just to stand in the pocket a little longer and let those receivers go out there and run those routes and hopefully we can get the ball in our Playmakers hands and they can make something happen in the uh beginning of the halftime show we looked over into the end zone and now I can see the injured Eagle that was talking with trainer J seage looks to be number two Logan Hicks with his shoulder pads off so that's going to be Joe Kish who is hobbling around already it looks like he's hobbling around even more and Logan Hicks your starting linebacker and running back with his shoulder pads off so if things weren't going bad for the Eagles now they are even more I'll tell you what I'm never going to walk through that section ever again though I got harassed like no other walking through you get harassed a lot or what happened no I was just walking down there you're on the wrong side buddy you're on the wrong side I'm like I'm like oh my bad I'm just going to get a water folks like I'm up in the Press Box guys I can't help it sorry how come the trouble always follows you I don't know man it's cuz I'm short and I'm from Columbia probably gosh in well I guess they did say that the side concession s was open so maybe you should have walked around the field over there right the middle of the GU I don't think that would have gone well either for you water's got a pretty good complex here they got the practice field here on the other side of the field from us we're looking at that uh got the softball field on the other side of that baseball field across the way I believe that baseball field is going to be getting turfed here pretty soon so water doing a great job with their athletic facilities and that's what I've always liked about their facility everything's kind of it's all next to each other the practice fields right over there a football team um you got a nice track here so yeah nice complex here for water you got everything right next to the school nice and easy access and there's a lot of things that you look at the Columbia campus and I think it's going to be changing here in the near future as far as what it's going to look like I believe there's going to be an addition coming on to the whole complex as far as the school goes I think they're talking about maybe even another gym in the near future too so Columbia's getting to that point that they need to have it the school is getting older and kids are getting bigger in there as we got over 600 students in there now so it's going to be interesting to see what Columbia does they really don't have a good spot to put a new school so they're just going to have to make do with what they have and like you said water's got everything right here Columbia we're strung out a little bit with baseball and softball being at a different complex and a different campus so we may do with what we got so we got a minute left here on the initial halftime show and then it's going to have 3 minutes added to the clock for the teams to stretch and Jared as we look over to the right side of us right now there's not too many Eagles that are running out onto the field with any enthusiasm or fire there's a lot of walking going on yeah that's never a good sign um especially when you have those I mean a couple seniors in the middle uh walking too I mean you never want to see that so hopefully we just need one big play like a kick return or a big hit we need to see one big play to get these guys fired up a little bit seems like they they're not really interested to play in the second half and that's one thing you know you got to lean on your seniors now you know they got to be the ones that are going to be your voice and I shouldn't even say they have to be if a junior is there to step up the Junior's got to do it a sophomore's got to do it we got a couple freshman somebody's got to be able to step up and got to get a fire lit we'll see what kind of adjustments we made here as coach Baker and Coach stump are on their way up into the Press box here they got to walk through the gauntlet of the student section good luck guys good luck I don't think coach Baker hears very well out of one of his ears hopefully it's that left one he's not going to hear the uh the student saying anything to him waterl police officer is standing in front of the uh student section his sign just said cheer or jail oh wow all the kids started cheering did you hear about Alton High School nope they must have had some big melee of a fight up there and at school yesterday or today so they said that the restrictions to get into the game it was your immediate your mom and dad and immediate family only they were everyone had to be seated in the bleachers you could not be seated anywhere else or standing anywhere else so talk about a a weird feeling come on boys big second half big second half coach STP big second half 2 minutes ago now in the live Church halftime show and Jared the Eagles are going to get the football coming out of halftime and they're going to have to get something going we've said that many times and it it's now or never I mean we can say it as many times but you just got to make something happen yeah I'm going back to One play in that first half that I kind of like what I saw getting that ball out to Jackson belman on this on this right side um he's pretty quick man once he gets that ball he can shoot through any Gap so uh maybe put him in a couple jet motions just get him the ball see what he can do with it um I think with this offense it's not going to be honed in on one guy like it was last year um every week we're going to have to come with a different mindset and a different guy might have to step up every different week so um it's only 14 nothing same deficit as last last week we were able to tie it up 1414 so we get the ball first and see if we can March down the field make something happen well it's now or never we only have a minute to go go now coach Kendall starting to get the kickoff your team ready over by him you look across the way Joe Kish and Hicks neither one of them have their pads on whatsoever so we will call them out the uh questionable Return of the chain gain member he is back out he is limping at the 40 yd line so he's going to give it another go here for the second half only got updated to what is it updated to will play will see him in the second will return will return yeah not on the injury report no more only three chain game members for the Bulldogs over there Columbia we're spoiled we get four of them all right got 12 up on the board now let's get this second half ready to rock and roll thanks for joining us into that live community Church halftime show we got second half action coming at you we're going to head to nope we're going to stay here we were going to head to a break and then all of a sudden the officials they just came running out so they're ready to get this second half going of the route three rivalry where the Bulldogs lead it 14 to nothing going into the third quarter number 20 Caleb beler beautiful night here in Monroe County in waterl to receive the very comfortable here in our t-shirts and shorts and like I said in two or three weeks we'll be praying that we'd be in the Press Box you always say that about me too cuz I'm always saying oh it's too lot up here and then by week four got my socking hat and I my gloves on my jammies come on boys let's get a better second half going and it's a low kick this time fielded by jce Nelson at about the 12 yd line he gets behind his blockers to the left side he gets to the 30 near the 20 35 and that's where he's going to be forced out so pretty good field position for the Eagles and they're going to have to make something happen and they're going to be led by quarterback Mason vagley brought down by number 36 Tony Gro number 88 see if we any type of different formations here I know coach Horner liked using that sniffer back a lot in that first half see if he wants to use him be as another linean or lead blocker uh to step up and try to protect Mason [Music] we're going to need some protection for Mason sniffer back left two wide receivers for the Eagles pistol back is going to be Janik he's going to take the handoff go up the middle he's going to get to the original line of scrimmage and I don't know if he was really touched too much but he goes down gain of nothing looks like almost one or two every every play but no gain on that play bring second down seems like some of our guys need to get more vertical than horizontal we want to run 10 yards to the outside just to maybe gain one yard you got to plant that foot in the ground and try to get as many yards as you can Payton Andrews and Janet go off the field reibling and can't see it might have been Stefan just came on empty backfield this time for vagle trips to the left side one guy out to the right they're going to be blitzing off this side vaguely doesn't see him coming they come to his backside he stays on his feet he's going to have to to make something happen he cuts back up to the middle of the field and it's going to be another loss on the quarterback sack nothing going once again for the Eagles offense brings up a third and 13 not too many play calls for you here on third and 13 with just under a minute taking off the clock after the first half end y go I don't know about you but Mason had one blocker out here and he had a little bit of room to get five six yards but decided to cut it back to the middle and gain nothing Eagles moving left to right ball in the middle of the field going to be a roll out and what do you know nothing going fumble on the play and it's going to be another loss of seven or eight brings up a by number gav lick and [Applause] 21 loss of seven more yards bringing up a fourth down and Y to go Mason was trying to get to the outside he wanted to roll to the right yeah he he took one step and there's nowhere to go he said no tried going back that other way and he Gob up there too line just can't get anything going waterl trying to figure out what guys they want on and off the field and like we talked earlier with the quarterback having to scramble it's the same thing for your punter luckily that was about a 15 16 yd roll when the ball hit the ground but Mason had that one block and he got ran into once he just picked the ball up and kicked it and luckily like I said it had a good roll so from the Eagles 206 to the Bulldogs 36 Bulldogs will start defense got to keep us in it once again give us a chance two touchdowns isn't a big lead not at all especially I mean in high school football it can can flip like it can flip so quick so um what I've been saying all game a big turnover here would be nice uh scoop and score a pick six um just something to get these guys motivated to actually want to win this game because they do not look motivated at all right now Eagles Got Five Guys on the line of scrimmage it's going to be a pass option read is that what you call it quarterback's going to throw it pass is complete to number five and it's going to be completed gain of three good job tackling there Denny by Sam Denny so on that type of play that quarterback it's all about the quarterback's decision there he ran right at Sam Denny who was guarding that receiver to kind of force him to either stay with me or make me make me throw it out to that receiver that's what he did kind of settled for that quarterback and made him toss it out on that bubble route and he was lucky enough to only gain five yards but second and five now whistles on the play new shot uh game clock that was a very quick very quick game clock there two weeks in a row we have this problem at least now the officials are able to just talk to one another over headsets he makes a little bit quicker so they get the problem resolved second down and six ball at the Bulldog 40 yd line 8:45 on the clock going to be a pass play this time and it's going to fall incomplete oer augi threw an absolute missile out there intended for number five and it falls incomplete third and six yeah I never understood that why do quarterbacks have to try to throw throw a ball 100 miles hour when you're three feet in front of them we got to get it there I remember back whenever I was uh what was that my junior year Greg I would run uh bubble routes and Greg long would throw straight missiles at you like turn his whole shoulder and just oh man my hands would be red after practice quarterback's going to keep it himself this time good job there Brandon Jackson fighting off the block and sticking with the tackle and he's going to get him short fourth and two waterl looking like they're going to go for it and I don't blame him here Eagles offense hasn't been able to do anything you're in your territory but who cares yeah they've been that first the end of the first half there they were throwing the ball a little bit more so I would just run the ball here with that quarterback they're going to hand it off to the running back he's going to get the first down and only about two yards more the going to bring up a first down and 10 at the Bulldog 48 yd line clock keeps moving 810 on the game clock belman almost didn't see this receiver out here quarterback under Center they're going to hand the ball off again just coming right at you nothing going great job by the Eagles defense there slamming the running back down nothing was happening Keegan Thompson making a hard good hit they were up on the ball pass quick on that first down play great job by the Eagles defense like you said to get the Back Field only gain of about two or three for first down bring up oh he called it five okay that's a generous five yards man ball right at Midfield right now quarterback empty backfield good job by the Eagles forcing it back inside two big hits and it's going to be a loss of five on the play to the 45 who got in the back field first look like cam janick was the first one there just to slow that quarterback down a little bit number once that happens like I said man you'll have all those white hats flowing to the ball and look at that loss of about seven six and now you got third and up a third down and 13 yd to go water's been in control all night long in this first half though or this first drive of the second half been the Eagles defense so far right now that's a big play right here see if the Eagles defense can get the offense back on the field motion man they're going to run to the left side good job cam forcing it back inside and it's going to be really nothing going for the quarterback Hoster hogy he's going to get six maybe seven get back to the 50 yd line but cam Janik once again good job keeping it inside that's the that was the biggest play or biggest uh thing on that play um if ostra hogi brings that outside he's got these two receivers out here to pin Bel and Sam Benny it's a great job by cam J to get up field and force a quarterback back inside looks like they're going to stay on the field for this fourth down they're going to run to the left side and a rugby Punt and it's going to go straight up in the air get away from the football as it bounces at the 30 and gives a waterl bounce and it's going to keep rolling down inside the 15 to the 14 yd is down by number 12 so we'll see if the offense can keep it going this time or get it going this time as the defense has done their job tonight other than a uh face mask that put them in their on their heels and then third some great field position for the Bulldogs defense has done their job yeah especially looking at that game last week like we said um scoring 40 points against the Mount Vernon team um that all they really know how to do is score and Maru just sticking with him the whole way so a great job by the defense tonight um only only 14 points up on the board they'll take that every week with Hicks coming out now we're going to have to figure out who the new replacement is doubles to the left side they're going to run it to the left side with Jace Nelson who is hit instantly Json by three guys two linemen are downfield and neither one of them are touching anybody and another receiver didn't seem to be having anybody either for Coach lost of two for Coach Herer he's always the type to throw a couple trick plays in there but I mean if you don't have anything going for you right now second three on the inside zone or um get anything going I mean you can't even incorporate those into your offense uh at this point in the game Hudson Bryant number 21 is now into the game for the injured Hicks single receivers out wide madx stefen is now your sniffer back to the left Jason Nelson running back to the right they hand it off to him he's going to get hit once again going to be another loss number zero two brings up a third and 14 number 33 Patrick odonnell yeah I didn't even realize when you look back at the clock now there already 5 minutes after two yards on took off about 5 minutes um only gain about 20 20 25 yards there 14 yard to go playing a lot of clock management looks like uh when they have the ball and just try to keep the ball out of Columbia's hands as much as they can try to where this clock down Eagles are pulling three guys off the field going to have three new one come on it's going to be Nelson nope it's going to be Janik rling and [Applause] Bryant going to have to call a timeout as the Eagles were trying to figure out who they wanted on the field so with that timeout there's 430 remaining in this third quarter we're going to run to a break let coaches figure out what they want to do on this third and down 14 y to go for the Eagles third down in 14 for the Eagles from their own 10 backed up once again Eagles are going to have to try to make something happen looks like it's going to be manto man to the left side they're going to send Jay Nelson's a motion man they're going to throw it to him he's going to catch it he's going to get hit instantly for a loss of five bring up a fourth and 20 and again third and 15 we run a route for negative five yards and we get hit right away Lo there was a great job there by the defense by water sniffing that out right away Los of five y on the play bring up a fourth down and 19 y to go from the eagle 5 yd line fourth and 19 from the fivey deep rece don't see what we saw last week here snap over the head of Mason vagley on a punt uh he's got his heels almost on the on the chalk in the back of the end zone he gets it off and over in kick bounces at about the 28 yd line it's going to be picked up and fumbled it's still falling around it's still going around Eagles and Bulldogs all going for it and it will be recovered by the Bulldogs at the 32 that thing was bouncing around for a while down there they're giving us chances to stay right in it Alex we talked about it in the aces wild pregame show you got to catch the breakes and if you catch them you got to take advantage of them so the Bulldogs will start this drive at the Eagle 33 yd line first and 10 once again Bulldogs getting good field position here starting at the 33 yd line of the Eagles 338 remaining in the third quarter Eagles Trail this one 14 nothing in week two action both teams coming in 0 and one motion man there's two guys moving at the same time the officials see it just as quick as I do and it's going to be a penalty flag false start on the offense Los of five Bulldogs five Y is stepped off making quick question how' you like the Tigers win last y to go it was a pretty good win I didn't understand ESPN wasn't working up at uh Aces we were trying to watch it up there the uh I guess Charter must have had an issue with ESP my neighbor had the same exact thing happened to him so yeah something must have happened with that we did get to watch it it is uh nice to see was it Luther Burton or Burton whatever Burton he took a couple shots though last night man we got to get him into the uh into the mix this year so first and 15 this time going to be a stretch play to left side running back puts his foot in the ground and he's going to be met by number 55 Brandon Jackson and I believe that was number 77 BR fur on the tackle only a gain of three and That Was Keegan Thompson again that as that outside linebacker number you don't have to make the tackle you just got to force force them to go up field and your other guys are going to come make that tackle so great job by thp back going to be about a second and 12 here for the Bulldogs three down linemen four linebackers four defensive backs for the team in white motion man is the Bulldog it's going to be an option play to the left side quarterback is going to pitch it to number five great one arm snag to catch it and he's going to get a gain of six that was a pretty good grab by the running back yeah I thought Keegan Thompson got a hand on that to be honest with you but R out of bounds by number 14 man that was close that could have been our break right there so it's going to bring up a third down and six bringing up a third down and seven yard to go third down and seven officially yeah he corrects us every time I feel like we're a yard off on everything we're always a yard off doubles to the right side running back to the right side of the quarterback under 10 seconds on the play clock they fake it to the right it's going to be a pass 's pass is incomplete not really sure what was supposed to happen on that play there was not a receiver within 10 yards of where that ball landed not to mention there was four linemen that the ball almost ran into so there would have been illegal guys down field I feel like not really sure what the play was there but it's going to bring up a fourth down and seven biggest play of the game up to this point I would say bigger than the last time you said that yeah every play matters Alex fourth and seven ball at the Eagle 30 yd line 245 eagles need a stop it's a game of inches trips to the right side sniffer back to the right side it's going to be a false start oh now it's going to see if it's going to be a fall start or an off sides they both moved the official on our side of the field threw it backwards on our side we'll see who flinched first false start on the Bulldogs F start against the Bulldogs five yds is stepped off that's big there woo yeah it is that'll make it fourth down and 12 yds to go from the 35 Y water just pin us deep I think yeah there's no reason to go well we haven't moved the ball either though so take your chance and then you get to control the clock even more doubles to the left side it's going to be the rugby style punt once again and it's going to get off and it's going to fall oh my inside the 5 yd line a great job with the punt this time pinning the Eagles deep at the four where the official stopped moving great punt there by the Bulldogs goes out of bounds and the Eagles are now going to have about 95 yard 96 Drive sorry I was just acting 239 remaining in the third quarter 239 on that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard where the Eagles are trailing 14- nothing in week two feel was like last week didn't we have it on like the one yard line after we covered that fumble we had to go 99 yards we had a long way doubles to the left side single receiver to the right sniffer back is going to be left janic going to be a quick pass this time going to be caught by a Columbia Eagle slot receiver let's see if we can figure out who is out there's pass is complete to number 11 Lucas rebling Lucas ring getting the catch down by number 61 gain of two Jack rustler no gain on the on those I mean we're just running simple uh little screens bubble routes and it seems like they're just right there right in our face right whenever we're able to catch the ball water doing a great job flying to the football doubles the left side same formation again this time we're going to throw it to the right side it's going to be rainwater he's going to drop it bigley's pass he tried looking up and running too quick incomplete and that falls incomplete so now number one Conrad lar third yeah looked like rainwater there was already looking up field before he was able to pull that ball in two minutes to go in the third quarter as Eagles have only taken off 39 seconds on this drive now they're going to do the same formation once again and it's going to be a handoff this time dive it's going to be Nelson he makes one man miss makes a second fall off J Nelson on the carry gains maybe two brings up a fourth down and eight from the seven and Eagles are going to be punting once again I think we might have just as many punts as we do offensive yards uh yeah probably Mason standing in the inzone again on this punt High punt he brings it down and it's going to go somehow through the lineman and it's going to be another Eagles roll to only the 29 yd line rolls dead at the 29 not many things going right for the Eagles tonight so it was a 23 yd punt bull L will start this drive at the Eagle 29 with 112 remaining feels like we can't really gain any type of momentum haven't really had a big play to go off of um and that usually comes off either your special teams or your defense or I mean your offense too just making big plays and we haven't had one big play I'd say all night um to kind of get the the guys R up but um still a lot of time left still got a whole quarter and we're only down two scores doubles left side ball on the right hash quarterback takes it he's going to hand it off good job there by Janik and Thompson once again those two guys are really impressed me tonight gain of nothing on the play for noain by yeah Keegan and cam there forcing it back up up fi able to get a hand or two on him bring down loss of one bring up a second down and 11 yards to go could be the last play here in the third quarter as it'll go off under 40 seconds so we'll see what waterly wants to do same formation once again for the Bulldogs this time it's just going to be a quarterback run to the right he gets behind a couple guys and he's going to be forced backwards great job there by I believe it's pton Andrews and Jackson and Mason vagley all getting in on that tackle gain of two third down once again bring up a third down and N Ys to go waterl should let this be the end of the quarter most likely it should they are starting to walk off the field so that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard still reads waterl 14 Columbia zero only 12 minutes to go in this 2023 route three rivalry Eagles are going to have to make something happen in the fourth quarter when we return right after this columia [Applause] nothing s welcome back to this fourth quarter between the Eagles and the Bulldogs quick third down play here osar hogy running around in the back field still running towards this side line going to be close to that first down marker I don't think he's going to have it yet number 11 might be a little short maybe a yard short down by number one going to be fourth and one from about the 21 yd line gain of seven yards bringing up a fourth down and one yd to go for the Bulldogs official calling over here on the waterl sideline calling an official timeout not sure what's going on here on that fourth down play kind of a broken play and ostar hogy just kept it alive with his feet supposed to be a designed screen pass to this side that was blocked off by Corner out here who's this corner on this side I can't see Andrew Andrews so then oari just put his head down gained about seven eight yards and now we're going to have a fourth and one motion man for the Bulldogs fake it to him they're going to go right underneath with the initial running back who's going to get enough for a first down and keep the drive moving down by numbery not before he gained three yards good for another Bulldog first down Jared you look at the defensive line right now not too many guys that we say their names very often Hayden Hera the senior BR furo the sophomore and Josiah Miller not too much experience on that defensive front and waterl right now is just taking it right down her throats number 11 lose penalty flag thrown after the play 77 bro fur but whenever you throw those sophomores and guys who haven't had much Varsity action makes for these kind of kns and on the offensive side of the ball kind of same way a freshman two sophomores and two one guy that's played one guy that's never played a down football before in his life either so yeah especially in a kind of rivalry and atmosphere and everything that goes all week even uh you're just thinking about how what am I going to do on Friday night how am I going to do on Friday night um coaches are most likely going to put them in the best spot that they can to succeed um this game's still not over big penalty here going to March him back Pete marching them back you get a stop here get one big play on the offensive side of the ball we've been saying this whole this whole game it's toen it's going to happen one time see one little spark just haven't been able to find that all night so after the personal foul after the play loss of 15 on the play on the Bulldogs going to be a handoff nope they're going to keep it with the quarterback that cam cober hogy on the keeper cam Furlow and Jackson down by number 77 bro furo looked like cam Janet come up lower to shoulder kind of hit the boom there now we got about third and 17 here if you're water clock is definitely on your side gain of about two yards bringing up a third down 17 yds to go and if I'm their coach on this side I'm running that thing under 5 seconds on the play clock every single play 10 minutes to go on the game clock going to be handed out they're going to go wide on the third down play they're going to get to the original line of scrimmage and nothing more five Chris P on the car great tackle there by Sam Denny brings up a fourth down and 10 and if you got a kicker here in your waterl I think I tried to make this a three possession yeah gain of most likely seal it but bring up a fourth down and 10 yard to gol Lou agar the pro kicker back in the day he should be uh I think he's still over here about the 34 yd line right now I bet you this is a hard count play I don't think they're going to run anything I did not see a t out there so um kind of unusual to me you have Louis agar as your kicking coach you're not going to going to kick it to make it a three-score game they're under 5 Seconds now I don't see a play getting run off here oh they do quarterback's going to keep it he's going to try to roll he's going to set his feet try to throw it and it's going to fall incomplete nothing going on so the Eagles have H and take cam janick there for in the quick throw 18 ydd line with 923 remaining in the fourth quarter and there's that turnover on Downs that the Eagles needed there we've got two or three of those all night Alex just can't get first Down official timeout now referee coming over with quarterback Kobe Oster hogy as he comes over and a trainer comes to him right away so must have something on going on that the officials saw right away 923 remaining in the ball game Eagles Trail it in the fourth quarter 14 nothing trying to avoid fall into 0 and two first and 10 from their own 18 yd line they're going to be moving right to left ball is going to be on the right hash low snap throws the timing off vaguely picks it up himself he's going to get about two maybe three yards before getting dropped maybe forward momentum gives him four but not much going with that snap gets rolled back to him Eagles gain of yard trying to make something happen here almost at that point with only 9 minutes left now you really need to try to get something going here he's a good positive yard there on first down so so see if we can keep it going on this second and six doubles to the left side sniffer back left is Janik gribbling in rainwater over here it's going to be a run up the middle though gain of two brings up a third down and four J Nelson on the carry brought down by number 52 gav I don't want to say it but you almost have to go for it if you don't get yeah pick it up on third down here but still 8:30 left bring third down yard to go now it's going to be Sam denan rbbl closest to us moved him around a little bit rbbl backs up off the football he's your slot receiver to the left side play action bootleg to the right side bagle is trying to scramble he's getting pulled down from behind he just throws it so he doesn't take a sack fourth down and six decision time incomplete for Coach hor put on the quarterback by number 52 it looks like he is going to punt yeah you almost have to there I was thinking if you pick up three four yards there make it a fourth and one maybe fourth and two that'll bring up a fourth down and four yards go four fourth and five that's a little tougher to get especially how we've looked tonight on the offensive side of the ball just haven't been able to get any flow good snap this time very good punt by Mason fair catch called get on the on the football bigley's punt that's a fumble the E Eagles should have the football catch by number five the officials blew it dead wow what a very quick whistle unless unless if he touches it does it blow it dead in high school that's that's a live ball I would think I would in my mind that's a live football he called for fair catch ball went through his hands I think that might be of blew drums out but wow there might be a high school rule that we don't know about up here but I don't that is that R Sam Herer if you're listening send me if that is a rule in high school football right now because I going to ihsa with that fumble Again by the Bulldogs now they're going to have to make something happen and Oster hogy just Chucks it downfield good thing for the Eagles it stops the clock at 7:51 up a second down and 10 yds to [Applause] go that might have been the first time we would had the ball on the other side of the 50 though yeah I you're right I don't know if we've gotten past the 50 tonight I still don't know if we have a first down like I said I think we got more punts than first downs we'll have to get the official stat from Howie next week going to be a handoff up the middle this time nothing going good job by Mason vagley and Josiah Miller Cameron janick all in on the tackle and coming off the pile last senior Brandon Jackson in the middle of the everything yeah he's going to be hurt tomorrow he's been in almost every play tonight working his tail off out there as that middle linebacker on and I'll tell you what our defenses look pretty solid tonight got guys flying around cam Jan made a couple great y to just haven't been able to get any type of flow on that offensive side of the ball quarterback's going to run to the right side he might try to pass it he's not going to be able to he's going to have to try to make something happen he runs out of bounds on the keeper Mason and him had a pretty good hit there run out of bounds by number gain of six brings up a fourth down and we'll call it six now too we've had them stuck on fourth down i y fourth down and five yard to go look for the rugby style punt it happens once again it's going to be a low Punt and it's going to be a great bounce for the Bulldogs that's going to hit the 10 and we'll call it the 9 and a half where it is going to be downed so the Eagles are going to have 91 yards in front of them 659 remaining 39 in the ball game by number 11 Kobe we're going to stick with you here as the teams are start this drive flipping the field here pretty quick yd line with 659 remaining in the fourth quarter still upset about that any response yet from Sam yeah not yet got the moon coming up across from us here it's a good looking one just had the super Blue Moon the other night when I looked at it it still looked like the same I guess I missed it Eagles are going to try a run play up the middle nothing really going for him maybe a gain of one and I'm not really sure like you said earlier it seems like we're moving and all a sudden they get tackled and they're back to the line of scrimmage I don't know cuz you're five yards back off the off the snap right but I mean it does look like our guys are fast enough to be able to get two three yards cuz they are but it looks like they're getting six to seven yards but they're only getting one to two yards bring up a second down and N yard to go perception's a little off cam Janet comes off the field I didn't see which Eagle came [Applause] on the official walked off the sideline with him so I don't know once again the official might have seen something Jason Nelson pitch right here use this wide side of the field hopefully rainwater can make a good crack down block and make these two go one-onone it is going to be Nelson but it's going to be Nelson to the original line of scrimmage maybe not even loss of at least one on the play bring up a third down and 10 22 jce Nelson on the carry stopped by number 11 Kobe OST a that clock's just going to tick tick tick already halfway through this fourth quarter now as Columbia really needs to get something going right here on this wonderful September 9 Alex happy September Paul is almost here I'm ready for it football season is in the air official college first Saturday is tomorrow trips still left side running back left I bet you we got a roll out here and we do got to seal the edge Jas got number four here for the Eagles get up field now he's got the 20 25 we got ourselves Columbia Eagles first down but then you look back at the team now there's no Tempo no type of awareness of how much time's on the clock when you're down two scores you got everybody walking back to the ball and that's not the tempo you like to see 14 y good for an eagle first down Sam Denny good for 19 first and 10 ball at the Eagle 28 yd line trips to the right side we're going to roll to the right vagle is going to have to Step Up make something happen he's got the original line of scrimmage he's got 3540 45 and he's going to go out of bounds good for another Columbia Eagles first down gain of 17 you know what I would have done right there that was Mason flop yep you're going to get a 15 I'm telling you man it works it works all it takes is a little bit of contact right by the sideline and you flail your arms up a little bit hey I got away with it here my uh my senior year we got an extra 15 yards so I believe that play right there goes for 17 the play before for about 19 I think is what I heard on the intercom two back to back those 36 yards I don't know if we had 36 yards all night under 10 seconds down the play clock sniffer back is going to be Andrews I believe he comes running on late Jace is going to be the motion man it's going to be a false start flag the snap and typically that's where your drives are going to be killed right there you get something moving and then you get a penalty to kill it let's not let that happen it's going to be a loss of a five there was motion out of your two receivers to the topag I believe that was Bryant and rling over there I don't know who they got on it the 40 yd line bring up a first down and 15 yd to go Andrews comes off madx stefen comes on doubles to the right side is Bryant and rling rainwater and Nelson are going to be the two receivers of the left side looks like we're going to send Nelson in motion we do it's going to be a hand off to him nope play action vagle is going to have to make something happen out of nothing again and it's going to be another loss of four just nothing going three guys in the back field right away Austin crder Mason tried stepping up but wasn't able to do it yeah and some of those play actions you only have so much time just to get the ball off on those playaction passes you're looking to one guy normally that's going to be cutting across the middle um and nobody was really open there and he really had no time to do anything so he tried to just get as many yards as he could um lost about four trips to the right side this time running back to the left six guys at the line of scrimmage for the Bulldogs they bring all six of them Nelson's got it in open field he's going to gain J Nelson he gets out of bounds stopping the clock at 410 he's knocked out of bounds by number the Eagles 42 yd line third and 13 you got to be in four down territory here apprach Horner calling for Ruckers yard bring up a third down 14 y to go you don't know what Ruckers is trips to the right side running back to the right side vagley is going to go over there he's looking for guys downfield he might tuck it and run I think he's going to he's going to get up into the 47 over his own player on the yeah brings up a fourth and seven about at the 50 yd line Eagles are going to be going for it I think if you're Columbia you got to go for a hard count here yeah 350 remaining on the Mandy McGuire group score I think if you don't get them to jump here you almost you don't want to burn a timeout cuz you want to keep those in your back pocket but yeah you're going to have to call timeout here and get these guys ready for this next play and uh make sure they know what's going on balls on the right hash we're going to go trips left to the wide side of the field running back is going to go into the boundary he's going to be to the right side of egley it's going to be just a straight drop back he's going to have to step up and make something happen and still nothing's going to happen quarterback sacked by number 11 Kobe Oster hogy quarterback sack for the Bulldogs going to be a turnover on down ball was at the 49 yd line vaguely gets sacked L of Y at the 39 yd line I'm going to call a Los of 10 and Jared this will be a stat we'll have to get from Howie and I'm sure he's got it not going to be pretty man the big statement now do we have positive yards for the night it's going to be close and I those last two plays might have saved it but man yeah it's going to be tough I don't think I don't think we're going to be on that positive side to be honest with you Alex quarterback's going to hand it off again to number 21 he's going to get about two brought down on the play by number 77 Brody furo second down and eight 315 remaining on the game clock now when you're on this defensive side of the ball you got to be going for a strip every single time try to punch that ball out and scoop and score what they work on in pregame waterl here is going to be taking the entire play clocked down 248 remaining in the ball game a first down going to get you close to a victory maybe two penalty flag thrown on the play it's going to be tentatively a gain of two Furlow again making the tackle I will say this Alex other than that first quarter tonight our run defenses look pretty solid yeah I mean our D linemen are like you said getting to those gaps and linebackers are flowing to the ball forcing everything back in getting hats to the football I mean that's all you can really ask for on the defensive side as it's second and about eight now holding penalty on the play it's going to be a spot foul loss of 10 second and 18 hands to the face penalty against water hands to the face the so it's going to bring up second down and a lot five six seven eight second 18 clock should be running I would well we'll take it not running it's fine with me we'll take that extra couple seconds good job there once again by The Eagles defense flowing to the ball brings up a third down and 18 Jared I'm going to be on your side there I think the defensive unit I mean like I said you had a personal foul face maskk that gave 20 yards that ended up as a touchdown and then you get started at your own 36 yd line you gave up a touchdown there otherwise you haven't giving up a touchdown tonight no it's z z basically um which is why I've said every I've said this is the biggest play of the game about four or five times cuz all it takes is one of those we haven't had one big play all night and all it takes is that that one big play at any point in time whether it's defense offense or special teams and I don't we haven't seen any of that tonight quarterback's going to keep it he gets it in the back field he gets away from one gets away from Furlow there's four more Eagles over there and they're going to bring him down and it's going to be a timeout for the Eagles brings up fourth and 19 after a loss timeout Columbia need to do a little trickery on this punt return here second timeout in the second hand I don't know how you could do uh any trickery with a rugby punt though so going to be kind of hard to do that I'm bringing all 11 guys I mean I'm not even going to try to attempt to return this I'm going to go for the block I'm going to bring guys off the corners bad thing is that your quarterback is your punt so they uh that definitely works out well for them traveling to Columbia on Monday September 4th with a 6:00 kickoff and then after that you're going to have to have trickery then you're going to need a touchdown out of that trickery a quick onside kick a quick touchdown after that you go for two you walk out of this game winner 154 I think it works out pretty good the game's not that hard well we're going to have to get I'm not even going to go there not going to go there going let it play out and see what happens Alex hey we watched a punt get returned last year with about a minute 20 to go they got the Eagles into a victory so we'll see what if it happens again we are going to send a man back that is Lucas rling he's a great athlete so let's see if he can get anything to go on make something happen here Lucas a quick rugby style Punt and this thing is launched into the air Ring's going to catch it at the 17 I did not see him wave for the fair catch cuz I was looking straight up at the ball got up to the above the lights look like all right Eagles got got a minute 37 to get 14 points or 15 if they want to walk out of here with a win yeah got to stay positive Alex come on hey I'll go for 15 come on Eagles got to be working with the sidelines right now if you're the Eagles and waterl you got to know that too you got to keep them in bounds doubles this time for the Eagles jce Nelson's going to be your wide receiver standing to the left side of Mason vagley four down linemen they got two linebackers approaching the line of scrimmage looking like they're going to Blitz one of them does quick out route thrown by Mason's going to be caught got to get out of bounds if you're Stefan no or is that Denny that's Denny and he does get out of bounds I'm not really sure how second down and nine on the gain so second and one minute 30 like he broke a tackle there and was able to kind of dive towards the sideline and able to get that ball out of bounds and stop the clock second one good job there by Mason just getting it and throwing it he didn't think about that throw at all so going to have to make something happen doubles once again running back to the left side ball on the right hash three down linemen two blitzing backers they're going to all come going to be another quick route this time caught by riing he gets out of bounds it's another Columbia Eagles first down this time a gain of seven St by number call going to be first and 10 on the Eagles 35 yd line that play only took 5 Seconds 85 seconds remaining on the clock first down doubles once again for the Bulldogs same formation now they're going to move the running back to the right side five down linemen two linebackers four defensive backs looks like it's manto man everyone comes through like a Civ on this play Mason gets to the original line of scrimmage where he's brought down after a gain of one looked like it was nothing but go routes [Music] there injury on the play so with the injury we're going to take it to a break looks like it's just a cramp but we're going to take it to a break and we will be back with the rest of the ball game and the post game show right after this welcome back the injured Bulldog on the play Kobe Oster hockey he's done it all tonight been the quarterback been a big time player on the defensive side of the football looked like it was just cramped he was able to run off on his own power couple great punts too yeah brings up second down and nine Paul at the Eagle 36 yd line 70 seconds to go low snap throws everything off and it's going to be another loss on the play loss of 10 by number 75 Ethan F loss of 10 on the play Eagles still walking back to the line of scrimmage don't have a play call in third and 18 [Applause] third low snap once again picked up it's just going to be thrown up by vagle rain is going to go up for it and it's going to fall incomplete bigley's pass intended for number 34 Dalton rainwater is incomplete Dalton rainwater was the intended receiver on the play number one Conrad [Applause] lard that eagle sideline really thinned out now student sections all but gone Grand stands all but gone and that fence line is holding stronger than the grand stands trips to the right side running back left fourth down and 18 bagley's going to step back he's going to get it once again and he throws it incomplete what are they going to call grounding it's 100% grounding on the play there there's nobody around still in the pocket still in the might have got did there only thing that's going to happen is got past the line of scrimmage but turn regardless it'll be a turnover on Downs 31 seconds to go so Jared last play of the game let's just go ahead and talk post game right now as the Eagles are going to lose this one 14- nothing they're going to fall to 0 and two on the season last year they were 90 Victors this year they're going to be 14-0 loss not the game that you wanted a lot of the same that we saw out of last week too offense couldn't get it going defense kept you in the game but ultimately Eagles are going to go back to the Northern side of Monroe County at 0 and2 waterl is going to improve to 1 and one yeah kind of tough game tonight um especially on my offensive side of the ball um there's not really much to say honestly I mean just kind of looked ugly from the beginning uh upcoming Bulldog varsity game just weren't wasn't able to get anything going no type of flow Friday we were losing yards on first down having to go off a second and 15 turning into a third and 20 felt like all night um so you're not you're not going to win a lot of ball games like that hopefully coach Warner gets these guys in the uh in the film room and Coach him up a little bit and see what we can do next week this one should hurt losing to uh water team um when you stuck right there the whole game I mean defense kept you in the game like you said uh definitely better than last week I would say on the defensive side of the ball you had definitely guys flying to the ball um but yeah overall it's kind of a disgusting loss yeah I don't want to use the word embarrassing because that's a little harsh but man that was a that was an ugly one to watch tonight and you're going to have that sometime so when we talk about this you're still talking about 16 17 18y old old kids soend now we get into the postgame show here and talk a little bit about next week the Columbia quarterback Club once again will be hosting a tailgate they'll be down at the perch so look for their tent down there and come on over get with the parents uh everyone has a good time down there so come on over get with the Columbia quarterback Club make sure you get involved I believe the quarterback Club will be doing a Survivor pool this year as well for the NFL so be on the lookout for that anybody who wants to get involved with the quarterback Club they are always taking people um it's a good club to get into we do a lot of things for the football program um not just the players for the parents for everybody so see if you can come get involved with the Columbia quarterback club and that's starts at the tailgate down at the perch in the Columbia parking lot we also have to tell you about the sons of the American Legion they will be doing the cooking for the players they will be doing the cooking for the uh volunteers that go up into the um Press Box as well so we have to before we look into them we have to thank our pregame meal sponsor once again tonight was the First National Bank of waterl they were the ones that donated the money to the meal and washy's Pub was the ones that did the cooking so thank you First National Bank of waterl for supplying week 2 food from washies so next week go to week three we're going to be uh against the tornadoes of Taylorville last time we played them was a postseason game that we got beat in that one as well so uh not much going on not much left to talk about from here in waterl Eagles lose this one once again Columbia Falls own and two we're going to see the tornadoes next week try to get that first win that's all we have from waterl in the route three rivalry Jared Jermaine and Alex schmer Josh rushing thank you for helping once again we'll see you next week live at the AC's wild pregame show at 6:30 on Friday night go Eagles baby

2023-09-06 Maricopa County, AZ YouTube / Creighton School District transcript source: youtube September 5, 2023, Governing Board Meeting · passage 1
without my iPad good evening to everybody buenas noches at todos we're going to go ahead and get started we start off with our land acknowledgment the Creighton School District understands that our community of schools is located on the ancestral land of the hodem Jude and accumul Oldham people who descended from the Hohokam and have inhabited these lands since time immemorial the oatham whose name translates literally to people are a vibrant culture and Community spanning countless Generations into the past continuing to thrive in the present and carrying a powerful Legacy for Generations into the future with this acknowledgment the current School District formally recognizes that the traditional care and keeping of these lands by indigenous people as is an aspirational model of community stewardship that we are committed to honor with practices policy and human relations and before we do the Pledge of Allegiance I would like to take a couple minutes um we did have a Community member in a really bad car accident this weekend um his partner was in the car accident as well and she's not doing very well this Community member also has worked in her schools with the youth stewardship stewardship programs so I would just like it if we just take a couple minutes and salmon our best especially to his partner who's not doing so well at these moments thank you I appreciate that and Miss Ayers can you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance please I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic oh thank you and that brings us to roll call Miss Gibson McLean myself and Ms Ayers are here miss mcsheffery and miss McCaleb are not present today we want to welcome everybody to tonight's meeting and remind the audience of the request to address board cards that must be completed and submitted to the board secretary if they wish to speak to an agenda item board policy provides for two cards White cards to be submitted in order to speak to an agenda item and blue cards to be submitted in order to speak during public comments due to the open meeting law board members are not allowed to address items that are not on the agenda and this is per policy b-e-d-h and that brings us to the approval of the agenda I move the governing board approved agenda as presented second all those in favor yeah go ahead sorry no it's actually it's an action item in personnel it's not a consent it's not inconsistent before everything else sorry sure I'm sorry what are you having a question on it's a fairly short item I would I would move that we place that right before six after the 10 agendas get out of here if they need to so after um Fife yes and before six got it so I moved the governing um board approve the agenda um just moving section 7A right before 6A second all those in favor aye perfect thank you Miss Gibson all right and then miss Juarez do we have any public comments today we do awesome thank you and that brings us to Mr Mann our superintendent report thank you very much first off I'd like to it's kind of belated now because labor day's passed but I hope everyone had a very restful holiday weekend and one of the reasons that I that I put that out there is there's been a lot of activity over the last couple of weeks and I know everyone's been working like really hard so I know everybody probably was due for a three-day weekend and a good rest we've had some learning walks underway we're seeing a lot of great opportunities to check in on learning progress checking in on kids connecting with their learning targets and the success criteria which is excellent I know Dr pombo's in the front row here and she ran an amazing workshop with the rest of the curriculum and instruction team last Thursday for all of our leadership team getting deeper into the data wise process and I have to share just because it really touched me to see the level of Engagement of all of our leaders I don't think you know nothing saying anything negative about prior sessions but I haven't seen everyone that deeply engaged probably in my eight years here it was incredible even when folks were on their technology if I walked around behind them they were actually looking at their student data or following the slide deck for the training which was amazing like zero off task the entire day there's no way they would behave like students it was amazing so I just it made me very hopeful for what's yet to come because I think this is part of our Pathway to really powerful student outcomes so very appreciative to the entire team for their work and efforts on that and we actually had a small section on on Equity at the end and Linda McKeever did an amazing job kind of bringing the end of the day home with that which was really powerful we have our first great kids Congress coming up in a couple weeks before our next board meeting we're still getting all of the Ducks in a row for for that but it's one of the things I'm really excited about to get an opportunity to connect with our kids Congress kids from this year speaking of our students you'll notice we actually have artwork back in the boardroom we're handling it a little bit differently this year what we've asked for is samples from all of our schools and so they have actually provided us with a few pieces to highlight the great artwork that's happening in their schools and then um starting tomorrow with the pre-conference and Thursday and Friday this week is the Arizona school boards Association law conference very excited for this first conference with the new director there I'm looking forward to seeing what all there is that's going to be exciting and new to learn and we have quite a number of I think we have several governing board members and quite a number of our leadership team members that will be in attendance for that and I have to say and the reason I bring this up as a superintendent's report item that particular conference is one of the things that's really helped me over the years develop an understanding of school law school issues governance and so I'm something that I can't highly enough recommend the people that are working in this field because I think it really helps prepare leaders for the types of leadership opportunities and challenges that they run into so and that's all I have for today thank you thank you Mr Man Miss air so I'll go ahead and start with you good evening I don't have too much to share I also am looking forward to the law conference that one I really enjoy that one um and then the cube conference which is my absolute favorite conference um is the week after so I know we're going to be really busy together the next couple of weeks um so I'm looking forward to that and I want to apologize for not being able to go to the community um what is it Council that you guys have on Thursday um in a cup in a couple weeks um because my sister decided she wanted to get married all of a sudden so I gotta fly up there that night but I I love Community Council and I'm really sorry I'm gonna miss it thank you thank you Miss Harris Miss Gibson McLean um I don't have much I hope everyone had a good weekend my children were at their in-laws for two nights which is fantastic and at my in-laws sorry not there at loss um anyway so it was relaxing and I hope other people got a break too for a million the same reasons Jay said I'm excited to go to this conference next week I wish I could go to the law conference sounds like fun um yeah no and I'm excited to get this committee going also very excited about that so anyway happy Tuesday awesome thank you I just have a couple of things so last week um NASCAR did a luncheon and a whole bunch of like School Board leaders and other people were there but what was really neat about that is that they partnered up with Phoenix Children's Hospital and Phoenix Children's Hospital we're talking about how they're growing and how they're doing all these things and how their ER wait time is super super long and usually it's because some families will use the ER as their primary care physician because they don't have access to insurance or anything then of course my mind starts rambling or you know like going in circles and I'm like well we own property in our school district and if you're trying to expand why not expand in school districts or certain sites where we can have maybe a pop-up Phoenix Children Medical Center in the community so there's going to be some talks going on with that so that was really interesting and this is why it's so important um one of the things that I've realized being on the school board is that relationships and networking sometimes is the number thing one thing that you can do and all the knowledge just comes it's who you're meeting who you're talking to to in reality you know help you get to the overall goal which is serving our students um so that was really neat um last week I also got to attend the Creighton Academy's volunteer orientation I'm also parents in the school district I have a second grader at the Creighton Academy so I'm actively in that school um and it was just really neat for the first time to see a lot more parents um I know that that's one of the growing schools my daughter has been there since it opened so it's been really neat to see how it's been growing and how parents are really getting involved in it being really like a community school so that was not neat to see I'm not going to mention the law conference because Mr man beat me to it but that's really a great time to connect also with other school board members there's 260-something school districts 200 of them are part of Arizona School Board Association rural districts native districts so it's really neat to come together and really talk about issues in public education and how it's in one way affecting us but they have a whole another set of you know issues so that's in um really neat and lastly um last week I recently joined our previous state superintendent Kathy Hoffman she created a committee called project or a project called project Oasis and we're going to be targeting special education so I know special education has been something that's been warring some in our school district and who else to learn all the ins and out to then our previous superintendent so myself along with some other school board members and other school leaders across Maricopa County have signed up to be part of this project so we're going to be learning a lot more and how we can assist our special education and see what other resource we can bring to them and that's my update for now and that brings us to 5 a and I move the governing board approved consent agenda items a through n in accordance with policy b e d b Dash e second all those in favor aye motion passes and that's going to bring us now to 7A which is 6a now and this is the approval of assistant superintendent of business and development and I'll switch it over to Mr Mann Madam president members of the board um it is my absolute pleasure to hand this off to Dr Laura and our executive director for human resources but um I do have to share that you know when we set out to fill this position um my hopes for the quality of candidate were not necessarily extremely high because there are a limited number of people with you know the types of expertise skills and Leadership skill sets that really kind of meet our standards and I'm so appreciative of Dr Lauren and the entire team involved because I think they just you know said ah tough tough to find a great person not a problem we're going to do it and so I think the as you'll hear in a few moments the candidate being recommended is truly amazing and very excited for us to get on with sharing that information someone pass it off thank you uh president Kario doll members of the board we did conduct a comprehensive search for the assistant superintendent of business and development we in the Department of Human Resources advertise the vacancy through the typical means that we do the job boards uh through Arizona Department of Education Facebook indeed Arizona School Personnel administrators Association Arizona Association of school business officials Etc there were seven viable applicants in the pool for the position the paper screening resulted in the top three candidates who were selected to participate in an extensive in basket activity and the interview process we had an interview panel of 12 participants made up of District directors administrators teachers support staff a member of our community as a community partner and a sixth grade student from Biltmore Preparatory Academy who asked some wonderful questions they recommended the top candidate for the fine most interview and the superintendent assistant superintendent teacher of teaching and learning Mr Dr dupin myself and Emily wasleck our director of communications and marketing held the final interview the candidate being recommended this evening is Vanessa Shapiro uh Miss Shapiro has served as Director of Finance for Paradise Valley School District since 2017 and before that was a Financial Coordinator for Littleton Elementary School District and a data accuracy specialist again with the Paradise Valley School District her experience also includes leadership development in the Departments of Transportation food service and Technology her reputation throughout the state is one of being an expert and leader in the educational field she is known for being a strong advocate for public education and a champion for students Ms Shapiro has a master's degree in accounting with the CPA emphasis as well as a bachelor's degree from Walden University and an associate's degree in Business from University of Phoenix I don't know if she's going to share this but she started her career in education as an aide at that level and worked her way through various support staff occupations in her time and as an educator so we're very fortunate and pleased to recommend Miss Shapiro to the board thank you Dr Lauren well we're really excited we've heard wonderful things about you so with that being said I move the governing board approve Vanessa Shapiro for the position of assistant superintendent of business and development effective September 18 2023 second all those in favor yay congratulations and it's our tradition to invite you over yes and if you have a few words for us we would love to hear from you thank you very much I appreciate it um I did want to go ahead and just introduce um I have quite a few people here with me today and they're kind of spread out uh I have my son faydon Shapiro um there he is default uh his best friends Bryce and Aaron who have become like my son my admin assistant Leah Blankenship from Paradise Valley I just would can't look at her because I might cry um my son is also videoing right now with my two daughters who could not be here tonight oh nice um uh Rick matelski one of my very very close friends and two of my highest mentors in my career Tom Elliott and Kathy Elliott have also joined the Vanessa fan club so we have it so I just wanted to say good evening to the entire Creighton Community uh thank you very much um superintendent man governing board president uh Carrillo Dahl and governing board members thank you for giving me this opportunity to join the Creighton family I look forward to creating relationships that will support and continue the passion that we all have for educating students I bring over 20 years of experience and success and I know deep in my heart that all of that time was preparation for me to stand here today before you the connections we build together in education are strong and enduring and I really look forward to building those connections with Creighton I'm excited to do my part to inspire adventurous thinkers collaborative Learners and kind-hearted leaders thank you for your time tonight thank you so much congratulations [Applause] all right now that brings us to six a thank you guys have a great night to 6A um which is now 7A update on access diversity equity and inclusion and approval of agreement for services and products between Corwin and Creighton Elementary School District so um I just wanted to have a little bit of background information on this I think that the work has been going amazing I just wanted us to get a little bit of an update of where we've been what has been implemented what this new um contract I guess you say will bring into the district that hasn't been done differently and just and give the the rest of the governing board members an opportunity to ask any questions if they have any good evening thank you for inviting us to tonight's uh governing board meeting Madam president governing board members Mr Mann members of the executive team um students staff parents and community members we're happy to be here to give you an update on our Equity initiative our access diversity equity and inclusion initiative we've been doing a lot of programming and planning I will be presenting second but I want to also introduce Billy Mann Billy Mann was previously a social studies teacher at Mackin and then he did SEL work at Mackin for a year and he was the first SEL Advocate that was hired so Billy's going to start us off and then we'll tag team in a few minutes hello everyone good evening tonight we're going to review our Equity Journey for the past few years and we are currently in year three of this journey in year one we first established working groups and after establishing these groups we had taken a moment to explore examples of historical inequities and their impacts to make sure that we don't repeat those same mistakes we also collaboratively worked as a district to build tone and Trust amongst each other and we did this by exploring each other's perspectives and being open to hearing and learning new things about one another we also had an opportunity to see our first pilot event of Youth Equity stewardship which was done at Monte Vista School here we saw a lot of examples of student voice a lot of artwork and most of it being student created we got an opportunity to learn from not just teachers but also students at our schools here you'll see an example of community agreements that were developed by students for students words on this poster are exemplified on the words written next to it and the reason why we create these Community agreements especially with students is to make sure that we create an uh community of openness and inclusion that students can refer back to and be sure to hold themselves and others accountable our strategic goal reflects our commitment to equity we do this through restorative practices advocacy as well as making sure to include accessibility and inclusion and all the decisions we make foreign you'll see the path forward for this goal with a strong emphasis on social emotional learning as evidenced by the bullet points down low which reflect the Washington State social emotional learning standards which we which we have adopted in this District I will now pass it back to miss McKeever so last year was year two and our goal was to establish site Equity teams at every building with the opportunity to develop professional development opportunities that can then be taken from the site Equity teams to the whole staff so the goal was to try to deliver the monthly monthly equity-based lessons and activities and once again our students participated in yes the youth Equity stewardship piece which also integrates a lot of the the equity peace access and understanding understanding about people's perspectives their identities and who they are and what their cultures are so with the yes events they were presented at each school and we were able then to work with those students afterwards and I'll speak to you a little bit more about that so what we had done is students who participated could apply to be a steward at their building so there was an interview process a short process and students were selected so this year those students are also going to attend our yes events but they are also working at their buildings to develop lessons to support Equity work and Equity conversations but also the culture conversations the spiritual conversations the community conversations within other grade levels so they may be pulled out for um for a a time to work with the with the um the child Justice Advocates or they may be set in an elective where they see that person regularly they'll be working on identifying their goals beginning to develop lessons and then ultimately the lessons will be teased out with two to three students presenting to different grade levels with an adult with them in short in short segments of time and and moving up to eighth grade and that is how we're looking at the sustainability for youth Equity stewardship so these are nice photographs that we have from one of the youth Equity stewardship events our students often have these feelings whether it's about belief or fear the known the unknown the hopes and so on and so from these stages then students have more of an identity within themselves in terms of what do I believe and what do I believe about myself and sometimes we test what we believe about others what are our fears and our fears grounded do we need more information and it's all built around the potential that our students have to be able to to work within the stewardship realm of kindness and supporting others but also being able to to manage to manage difficult conversations and so we're very excited for the Youth Equity stewardship events so we over the course of time we've had challenges and when we have challenges we want to have Reflections and as you can kind of read through some of the challenges and reflections ultimately we learn after the fact and then we we work to to provide Clarity and to provide more opportunity for difference problem solving and different solutions based opportunities so for example one of them which is the third from the bottom is responding when hurt and harm are occurred it's not something that we were really prepared for but in reflection we know how we'll Advance moving forward to repair those situations those types of relationships and some and it takes time and it takes trust and takes tone and so that's an ongoing ongoing kind of an effort so our intentions and actions for this year we're in year three include identifying where each school is in their Journey um identifying um developing and implementing anti-racist practices we're going to continue moving forward with deep Equity strategies and framework which includes the yes alignment and will support the embedding of equity goals and all that we do so in terms of on-site coaching we're very fortunate to have two individuals who you'll see pictured here we have uh Dr Trudy Arriaga and Dr Tyrone Bates these are individuals who started in the classroom worked their way up through the system and then began doing their own Equity work and so Dr Ariaga has recently been a superintendent for 14 years in Ventura Unified School District she's also a writer and I recall the name of her book is email when leading and Dr Bates has 23 years of experience from being a teacher he has been in elementary and secondary classrooms and as a principal he was a high school principal and an assistant principal he most recently was in the Shawnee Mission School District in Kansas City and I believe I want to say there's over 40 44 schools in the district and so the equity work going on at Shawnee Mission has been a long-term situation and Shawnee Mission is a great Community but a large breadth when you're talking about 44 different buildings so really excited about having the end of the individual calls we had a call today with um with one of our principals we did a virtual call and we were able to introduce Mr Dr Bates to one of the the principals we had conversation about next steps we also had a couple of times when we had to go off camera because there was a situation happening at the at the building but they're already connecting and the connection is is solid it's positive and we feel like it's a meaningful opportunity to get a get a picture of the school before you actually come in to offer support and these experts will also support administrators The Advocates and site stakeholders and coaching to plan Equity into more deeper professional development so our intentions and actions for year three are abundant and I know that you've had the slide for a period of time this is what is considered to be a menu that can be explored during pod Cycles um and I'm not sure if you're clear on pod Cycles so pod Cycles require time to plan collaboratively plan lessons then deliver the the uh the instruction so the Consultants or the experts will observe and take notes and then debrief and that's a very common practice in education if I were working with a teacher for instance who might be struggling with some instruction I can easily sit down and we can do the plans together and then I will observe the instruction and then we debrief to to look at you know what's what really went well what are some pieces that we could shine up and make a little bit more polished or maybe go to a different point but those are the types of pod cycles that are principles and our leadership are our site Equity teams will be working in with these experts foreign so additionally we will have yes events this year we will hold them for all schools and new student groups and in addition to those student groups we're inviting those stewards to attend so that they get a second dose of Youth Equity stewardship because they will be leading that stewardship this year and the students who are in youth Equity stewardship hopefully again we will go through an application process and we'll have another crop of students who can build up the youth Equity stewardship messaging finally this is a bit of a an image that will allow you to kind of understand just in in some easy terminology the work that that we do around Equity work which intersects with social emotional learning and so that intersects also with the work that our child Justice Advocates do as well so that's the end of our slideshow do you have any questions for me I'm going to open it up to my colleagues first do we have any questions I mean I I think maybe some of my questions I don't know if you could answer all of them just because I'm trying to like line up stuff from the PowerPoint with the proposed contract we've been given from core one um and I know you covered a few things just now in the um things you'd like to take on in year three however I'm having a hard time and I guess maybe it'd be help I understand the situation right now but it would be helpful to understand how these things that are listed out um in the contract line up with the things that you've described in your PowerPoint and I only say that um because it's quite it's quite a bit of money and each item is kind of costly and so I'm just curious you know also I I would have loved to heard tonight from maybe uh somebody who's been on an equity team or a teacher or a student or somebody who I know I know the yes stuff is going great I just want to hear more about direct um interactions with folks from Corwin if folks feel like the trainings are effective I mean it's a lot of money to vote on and not have a ton of information in that regard is why I'm kind of trying to get my bearings here with like how what you're describing lines up with what we've been proposing a contract because the language or the semantics in their contract isn't doesn't line up with what's in your PowerPoint I'm not saying that's anyone's fault it's I'm just trying to make sense of it so in terms of the contract do you have any specifics that I might be able to um there's just a ton of work so for example it'll say deep Equity de School leadership team training day coach day on site there's several of those with different dates that are six thousand dollars each then there's yes Workshop on-site EGS Workshop is five thousand dollars those are on different dates I see that there's two facilitators Matthew and Wade um I guess I'm curious this is for like these different events um you know what's the facilitator's role um I also was curious about the art of equity facilitation session I'm just curious how much of a a role the facilitators playing in every single yes Workshop like are those yes workshops with the students are we not at a point yet we're we're being self-sufficient with yes stuff I guess I'm just curious so the when when the students participate and yes you have Matt and Wade and last year they were working singularly with one one building this year we're doubling them up a bit and so they are the facilitators okay so we're not in a position to be facilitating us on our own so in terms of facilitating yes on our own down the road we have to build that sustainability first and so we have our first group of yes graduates or attendees participants who are now working in in the steward position at their buildings correct and so those students are pulled either from a Class A non-core class or they're doing an elective and so during that period period of time The Advocates the child Justice Advocates at their buildings are helping facilitate those conversations okay that's kind of what I was asking we're not at a point then to cut to not have someone from Corwin in the room for that or there still has to be someone from Corwin in the room there doesn't have to be someone from Corwin in the room however we have three child Justice Advocates that well there's myself there's Billy and we have one other Advocate at District level so we're available to go in along with them to to take some notes and kind of like pod cycle reflect and offers offer coaching to them gotcha um I'm not like I'm I'm not trying to come out of thin air with anything I know I wasn't here to originally vote on any of this or the agreement with Corwin and I guess I'll just I like to give some background so people don't think I'm talking out of my behind but when I worked for Portland Public Schools um we adopted courageous conversations around race um while I was there I was at a beacon school it was our job to like be the sphere headers of this I was actually a facilitator on My Equity team and was in charge of like really getting people to buy into this on like a staff level before we even did the work with kids and I hear all your what you're saying about the pushback I can't imagine having to go through that again but um I guess my concern is and I know we had facilitators for certain things at the district level and PPS is like a huge District but um some of these things where we did initial stuff it just didn't feel like it took as long to get to the point where you know like we were facilitating things ourself and I know things are different I guess my concern is this is 218 thousand dollars we each each specific thing is fairly costly um we have Sr dollars that are about to run out I think our CJs and you are very valuable and any money that I could Shore up anywhere to make sure we have CJs and you and more of them the more I would like to see that and I hear at the same time that the work you're doing is kind of in line with this my concern though is that like it just and I'm only saying this because I don't have like a it just feels I I just still am looking at this contract and still having a a little bit of a hard time knowing if people feel like that and it's hard to say because you're not complete yet but if people feel like things have been effective yet in the way that they're supposed to be at this point in time in the process I'm not saying that we're there yet right well I think that that people will have varying degrees of understanding and feelings about it this is the opportunity to have that that instruction that support by an expert experts in their field who have done the work in public schools and have have risen to the equity work and so having that type of coaching and it would be two rounds per building so it's not like we're doing it every single quarter so we have one round in the fall and then we'll have one round in the spring and the goal is to to look at our site Equity teams in a manner in which they can be leading um I think that for that it is new work it's very very personal and because Equity is very personal there are times that people are reluctant to engage or they just they distance themselves but when you have these types of experts that are giving you their profound and research-based feedback and the same with with the types of activities and the uh the manner in which the the information is shared and how it's modeled and how it's practiced that's why the Pod cycle is huge so certainly so it's the planning piece and really looking for everything that you need in the planning piece and then the observation of the lesson where we have the the facilitator and we have the site Equity team who are facilitating that that particular um training and then the debris allows for more feedback I guess then my question would be what a year and year four and five look like if this is year three what does what is our plan because I I would hate to continue to like then be presented with contracts that are of the same amount that would make me feel like we're not making progress to like being more self-sufficient in the series so I'm curious I know you weren't supposed to present on that tonight but like kind of in the general ballpark what do the folks at Corwin say about what years four five and six might look like how what does this look like in getting our training wheels off I guess so I haven't had those conversations with Corwin but my expectation would be during this period of time this year that as as the the experts are collaborating and coaching and working with our our site level admin and their Equity teams that there are Advocates that are also around not just the building level Advocate but also Advocates like um like Mr Maine like myself and like Miss Magnus so that we can capture all of that so that we are ready to move forward in the next years okay that's that that is my perspective it may not be what Corwin's plan is okay but that's my perspective okay just being very transparent I anticipate that this is likely to be our last year working with Corwin as an entity um it is very costly to work with them directly and as Ms McKeever stated we learned a lot from where we were two years ago and we started our relationship with them to where we are now and so we I don't see us bringing another contract like this in I would be surprised if we were in a position to bring a contract like this forward in the future but what we're really trying to do is INS I don't even like the word but to institutionalize some of these practices and structures so the just the equity working group at each campus making sure that that's just a routine practice it's part of the fabric of every campus the youth Equity stewards that are the student group like that that is is established that it thrives at each campus and that within those groups there are people who have access to these strategies that we've been learning for the last two years and they can replicate them I will say that with youth Equity stewardship as an event you know nobody does that like Wade and Benji but the guitars and the lights and I don't know that we're gonna get to the place where we can replicate that without them but the conversations the kind of writing the exploration of identity and the intersection of the of my identity with others that we absolutely are striving to be able to to sustain thank you and it is magical if you're able to attend one of the yes events it's phenomenal 10 minutes and you'll be blown away Mrs did you have any questions or comments I'm just from clarifying questions um this training you keep talking about a team of people at the sites so is this not for like all future training or so there's a there are members of the site Equity working group and so you kind of have to recruit and you want to see who you can bring in so you have within your building you have your principal the assistant principal The Advocate and then you pull other staff members into to to raise the voice for others and to also be a participant in the process and so that's your site Equity working group or your site Equity team and so they meet and then they start to talk about the next steps in terms of what is what is the next presentation what is the next lesson where do we need to go and how do we how do we wrap all this into the concepts that we already have and so we have those folks that are available um but with our transition with staff sometime times that may cause some hiccups in the road but I have a strong feeling that we have many new teachers and seasoned teachers who have been looking for this in a lot of different places and unfortunately it oftentimes just drops off and so we want to continue this work simply because the nature of our community the nature of our of our staff of our students requires it and our kids are flourishing and it's really important for our adults to be open and able to have conversations and receive to the best of their ability and and it's not always easy because it's very personal so we want we want the adults to be able to be reflective around the conversations that we're having because we do have a very very um we have a very vulnerable population that needs a lot of support and I've seen Equity initiatives go away within one year and this is literally the third year with Corwin and I know that there was work done prior to that and so the the intention is clear and so the intention will push we'll we'll drive our action can I just add one more thing sure um just as you're saying that I was just making me think um you know and then this is just my personal opinion I think one of the issues I haven't been on the Safety Committee at Phoenix Union and that there's a lot of pushback from teachers and staff about restorative justice there I don't think they did a lot of this same work on the front end and I think me personally I believe that's what caused so much problem with a buy-in was the short of Justice at Phoenix Union people weren't doing Equity work ahead of time and if you haven't done your personal work it ain't gonna work with the kids when you're trying to do it so um I think that us doing all this work on the front end I think it's going to go hand in hand hopefully with the work that we're hopefully going to do on our uh committee to work on our policies as far as student conduct goes and I I would hope that we can pull you guys in I can't control the committee but I hope there's some way to pull you all into those conversations throughout the end of the school year to get your perspectives on what these policies should look like as well well and to speak to Phoenix Union my understanding was that there was a restorative justice um position that was created and there were a lot of plans that were made but when you share all those plans at the beginning of the year with teachers without their feedback without their input their buy-in that's that's where they kind of they lost certainly and that's not where we are yeah so we're pretty transparent now I'm I'm hoping yeah that this can all just work cohesively together and kind of transforming how behaviors work in our district well and it's it's and not just for students right it's good for the students it's good for the adults and it change it changes our our relationships within our community in a positive way thank you yeah I have a couple of questions or comments um the first one is it's my understanding that this time around too there's going to be some kind of parent engagement in these Equity can you speak to a little bit of that so that's what the youth Equity stewardship so this year we're going to have um two buildings participating at the same time so we're we've added an intergenerational piece so the first night we're going to have a celebration and so we're working on making sure that we have access to the gym so that the parents can see what it looks like there but also we can get them in there to have some pizza and have some some drinks and those types of things because we want them to understand what this is all about because from a child's perspective it may not necessarily Encompass all of it but I think that when when we have that opportunity to bring parents to us that's phenomenal and so is it going to cost a lot of money no is it going to take a little time yes but we also know that our parents do care deeply about their kids and I believe that when you speak about equity and you speak about um about perspective identity culture I think that most parents might be interested if they have the ability to attend and if it's not their parents it can be the big sisters and brothers the aunties the uncles and grandparents as well awesome thank you for clarifying that I think that's a very important piece that we didn't have the last two years that I'm so glad to see this time and also I think when we first adopted this I mean I originally had voted no because I didn't know Benji or Wade um I I kind of share the same sentiment as Miss Gibson McLean I'm not into giving big corporate people all this money and they don't even know the climate of our community or schools Wade is actually a Community member I found that out later that he lives in the district so um wait in bed G Benji's not from here he's from Seattle but seeing Wade or canned on with these kids it's truly inspirational so I'm not I'm not happy that they're under the umbrella of Corwin However the fact of the work that they've done the last two years and I still think that the pandemic had a lot of pushback you know we had kind of adopted this I believe in 2020 when we first got elected it came up to the board and then all this other stuff happened so I really think that our first year even though it's three years I think we're in year you know two right now because we basically lost that whole year of school and everything so um it's really and and they're the ones that run it Benji and Wade do Corwin basically they just have that title under them but it's basically Benji and and Wade's thing so it's really amazing and one last question is it's my understanding that we're one of the only districts that are doing this type of work in at least in the county I believe I think it was I don't know if it was the whole state but it was my understanding that this youth Equity work and all this different type of things like ours our district is one of the first ones to do that type of work so in terms of the state I couldn't say I did have a conversation with someone who runs an equity Consortium in Chandler but we didn't get to chat about that too much but I will say that based on where we are in our country in our neighborhoods this is the optimal time to have these lessons to really have these conversations so that our students are well equipped to to be able to engage in conversations and and collaborate with with students in the classrooms and go to the grocery store and still be able to have that sense of self but also recognize that they can be stewards as well which is being helpful and it's being respectful and it's giving people a leg up and so in a time where we're not seeing a lot of that we have the opportunity to really make such a difference in the lives of our community and most importantly in the lives of our students Madam president if I could add of course that intergenerational component I think at this point in time is unique to Creighton I'm pretty certain that that was actually developed from the work that Wade and Benji were doing here and the recognition of the need I think in a meeting that several of us were in with Wade we talked about going vertical so you know in like school districts a lot of times we talk about vertical alignment so we're a Ka we work with Phoenix Union we want to make sure what we're doing Ka prepares kids you know for 912 right in this case this is an intergenerational vertical alignment so that way it's not just our students having these experiences these experiences and developing these understandings but that it's also bringing their families to the table with them and so that's to me knowing this board that's powerful because that's that's the community Spirit and the community building that I've sensed from this board since kind of the beginning of this work and I don't think you can do Equity just in schools I don't think it can be in a vacuum you know you do you do this work in your community and so this extends the work I'll call it and and if there's a copyright to this in the district can earn money I'd like to make sure we capture that but it's you know this work is going from the classroom to the community right so if we can make t-shirts that say yes that would be excellent I love it awesome thank you Mr Man do we have any other questions or comments or discussion okay hearing none thank you thank you thank you both for coming here tonight and thanks for everything you've done so far I appreciate all your work yes it's it's amazing work and and the kids love it you should see their lights their faces their lights face their faces light up when they're actually engaged in learning and seeing these things I've had an opportunity to pop in and it's it's really great work um with that being said I move the governing board approved the agreement for services and products between Corwin and Creighton Elementary School District for the 23-24 school year second all those in favor aye thank you so much thank you all right that brings us to this um 10A which is this discussion and approval on student outcomes Focus governance framework before we go into the conversation and ask for the vote um I've been reading this book by Tupac Shakur I'm pretty sure many of you know who he is but he has this poetry book when he was 19 years old he was doing some writing circles with an English literacy teacher and this teacher kept all his poems so they created after he was murdered they created this book of all his original poems right and to think this 19 year old Tupac had some kind of sense of what till this day we're talking about and in one of the front pages I'm just going to read the short excerpt from his poems he says and he dedicates it to our children he says we must support our children in every way we can we must allow our children in Freedom to express themselves creatively we must praise our children and thank them for their gift of inspiration we must motivate our children spiritually we must challenge our children to a higher level of achievement and we must increase our children's self-confidence and improve their overall quality of life and then after that he says so we say to our children draw pain to write learn acts Inc dance think Express and be free to dream always and then he names all the children in his family I'm assuming they're his cousins brothers sisters and to me that was beautiful right because it kind of ties in into this student outcomes governance framework because we really are putting our students first and their achievement in really believing that our children that we're serving are capable of all that and more it's just going to take a little bit for us to as adults to change some of our behaviors so we can start seeing those student outcomes and we kind of heard that kind of same talk in lingo of the Corwin Equity work that we're just doing that's kind of embedded so it's kind of all the same language and lingo and if you have guys have an opportunity to read Tupac's poem book I highly recommend it it's called The Flower The Rose That Grew From Concrete which within itself is beautiful um it just has a whole bunch of his beautiful poems um but anyways so with that being said um I will open it up first to Mr Man or anybody else that wants to kind of lead this conversation and then we can go from there Madam president I'm uh first off thank you for sharing that poem that you were kind enough to share with me I think last year a little bit about the Tupac book and you know um one of the things some people don't know about me is is my backgrounds in English literature and I and we actually had an interesting conversation today in in our um well you know I was like okay I think I think if I were to rap or attempt hip-hop we would clear their own okay you know but um but one of the things that I learned and this actually ties into rap and hip hop hip hop is that creative writing expression is a really powerful way not only to help students get to the core of who they are but it's also a powerful way to help develop language skills and so you know that that application of language skills is sometimes more powerful than a lot of the rote memorization work that you know tends to be the Mainstay of a lot of language and literacy and so um I just think that's you incredible and Powerful stuff but um and it ties into the the student outcomes governance because they really do have this this critical commitment to our students I'm I'm very excited for the work I think one of the big things um that we need to figure out I'm getting a little bit ahead because I know we haven't voted yet but assuming the board decides to move in this direction as to is to get that professional development moving and so for me it's less like I don't have any hesitancy I guess I have you know I'm kind of idling and ready to get going and so I'm eager and I just um you know I don't want too much of the year to get away from us before we're able to kind of get this work underway I do believe um deeply in my heart and some of the things I shared during the superintendent's report about the datawise work we are queuing up the work that will help support this work and so you know once we can get this framework established I think that's going to put us in a position to then start connecting some of the pieces that are already underway on their development um you know even even the equity conversation that we just had is a component of that so there's all these pieces Parts out there being able to bring them together into a holistic whole being able to set measures to that being able to set goals and identify where our progress is um you know we talked it's come up over the years about kpis this is so much more powerful than key performance indicators because this is really ultimately about drilling down to those student outcomes and so um you know I'm happy to to be part of this and I just appreciate um having had the opportunity to become superintendent in a district where this is the direction the board wants to move so no roadblocks just excitement so I'm trying not to push too hard but I'm ready if we have to push start this car I'm ready to get out and get behind it and start pushing awesome um Miss Gibson McLean or Miss air do you guys have any other questions or comments regarding this governance framework I guess like Jay like I'm ready to get this started like I'm really excited that um we're we're making changes um I've seen a lot of other boards that are very um they're just complacent um and I feel like we are moving in a good direction where we're going to make change and that's what we need to do and we need to be part of um helping our students achieve greater things and that's what teachers do that's what any Educators do principles and I think we need to be part of that so I'm really excited about this as well awesome thank you Miss Harrison Miss Gibson McLean you know I'm a firm believer in um I guess just believing that the way we always do things isn't the way we have to continue to do them and um and so I'm excited not only for this but like Mr Mann said all the other things that we're doing in the hopes that they come together and that we're able to really make some serious impacts in all different aspects of our district um I guess I did have one question I know Dr Ramos mentioned um like you know this is and this is me harping on the self-sufficient thing again but he mentioned like I I'm not going to be here forever like I do this in like the first year and then you've got to figure it out kind of thing I guess I just didn't see in in the document or on the agenda like how much does Dr Ramos cost and what are we exactly voting on we approve that tonight as far as money goes so when we approve it it's my understanding that we're just approving the framework and then once the RFQ is processed does it come back to us or how does that work actually cure it without a competitive process and there are not a lot of individuals that perform this work because it did come out of the Council of great City Schools so there's a limited number of people in our initial discussions with Dr Ramos he assured us that it's typically less than ten thousand dollars the first year and then becomes becomes even less as years move on so um my understanding um less than ten thousand dollars total the first year okay so um so he and keep in mind he's been working with some of our neighboring districts and so last year I believe was the first year in Phoenix Elementary District or Phoenix number one as they prefer and they did not from what my understanding is they did not hit that ten thousand that is correct so our procurement folks have talked to their procurement folks don't see any problems there um and you know it's it's not it's oddly not a very expensive thing and um but I don't think it'll be a one year and done yeah I think what what if I understood correctly the first year is the Intensive portion I know he I just didn't understand I'm sorry no no and I'm I'm not trying to be critical you know I'm just trying to be it just seemed more like there was a pretty thought out plan about that I'm here and then I'm gone it's it's a weaning process and that's his intent and he doesn't have it he's not coming to you know set up here with us for five or six years it's like most of the work will be done in the first year he'll be here to help us the second year and then by the third year I think it'll be really at a minimum at that point and I was just worried it sounded too good to be true and I was like there's nothing with money on it and I'm waiting for the ball to drop here yeah okay yeah I trust me I am um having spent time as a CFO I'm highly skeptical of dollars all the time I probably you know Drive some of you crazy when you're like hey we came across this and I'm like what does it cost you know what's the real cost but um this from from all of our research and the conversations we've had in talking to folks have actually been through it it is it is nominal and cost and it and it complies with the requirements we would have for procurement purposes cool awesome well with that being said I mean I don't know my what much more I can say um other than I'm really excited for this this is something that I think we all kind of were thinking about we just didn't know how it looked all in one chunk um it is going to be a lot of work um it's gonna be a lot of work for us as school board members as well but at the end of the day I I feel like we have a duty to our families their community and our students we knocked on doors told them that we would do what we could do for their best for the kids and this is one of them this is where the real work begins I know next year um we're gonna have some seats open so I'm glad that you know these are recorded So any future person that wants to come and be on our board knows that this is the work that we're going to be doing and it's going to be serious work and if they're gonna be up here they're gonna have to live up to that expectation of our student outcomes governance framework um Whoever has to communication oh okay perfect so um I'm available that date so would it be okay if um well I'll I'll call the vote first and then I'll ask my second question um since uh there is no more discussion I'm gonna go ahead and call for the vote remove the governing board approve using the student outcomes Focus governance framework second all those in favor I yay so now that it's been approved um would it be okay if we just talk a little bit of what the next steps are yeah I think I think we need to because I think Miss Suarez is antsy because if we don't get those leads locked in we might lose them oh yeah and I'm Nancy because November 3rd's a little further out than I wanted but it seems to be the soonest we can get to this so I'm available November 3rd and 4th said it's it's not worried about Saturday I already have something on Friday though it's cool even if you miss one of them and if you're there so I really want to be there for both of them well while she's looking at her calendar so this is I I believe this is a thoughts that we have on this is that we go into this two-day training we'll have cabinet and ourselves as a board because I believe it's important to have cabinet on the same vision of this working together and um when Once admin is getting their data we as school board members will probably do some Community counsel or sign Council meetings and get um Community input on guard rails basically that's what they're called teaching or community on what this framework is letting them know the definitions what this looks like because one of the things that we've come to realize is that the more that you empower the community the more that you educate your community it's harder in case one of us is not here next three four years our superintendent is gone and somebody a whole new board comes up and they say start trying to do all these different things our community already knows what's expected of the governing board which is that student outcomes and the more we communicate that to our community the more they can hold us or any future superintendent or board member accountable to the work that needs to be done so we will be having a lot of those Community meetings so our community knows what we're doing specifically with the student outcome governance framework so what do you is there literally no other time we can do it Well we'd have to get back to him because he he does he can't we gave him some October dates and the one November date and he said he could do the November date and then the next weekend we run into Veterans Day and then the next one is Thanksgiving and now we're into December was the majority of your cabinet team available for the fourth and fifth third and fourth I mean third and fourth sorry yeah fifth is my dad's birthday I keep thinking he suddenly told me otherwise okay I have a calendar it's on their calendar I have like several trials coming up but if I have these dates I can tell yeah the trial judge that I can't do this so the sooner I get set the better because then I can have an excuse if I have to try and say it later they're gonna say no and I think we gave updates to Amy Lindsay I don't I don't know about Liz I don't know if I don't know if Lindsay's had a chance to we in but I think Amy did say that she was available if I remember correctly so I just I'm having a really hard time like I've already taken off like five days for you know I just I have such a hard time taking off like I literally amusing all of my personal days um is he wasn't available for any of the October dates you proposed okay I mean I want to be there it's just it's really hard on I know it's hard on Lindsay and it's hard on myself because we can't take off as easily as thank you and I'm going to let a bunch of kids down if I go on the third I mean if I need to I will but I'm gonna have to make some changes I mean until what time would you be able to probably not until like three most of the day because I'm just wondering if he will need to do like evening on that Friday and then do a longer portion on Saturday rather than have a short thing on Saturday let's stick to those dates and then we can communicate via email back and forth to see if we can shift something around like time wise but keep those dates and then we'll we'll go from there to try to accommodate Heather does that sound okay probably so we don't have to have to right maybe then do go until five on Saturday so that way it can kind of accommodate okay thank you okay yeah we'll do that and we'll try to figure something out you're welcome okay um oh and then once those site counsel sorry so once that's a council meetings in the community comes we'll come back together admin and the governing board they'll bring us the data and we'll bring what we heard from the community and we'll kind of like work together and hopefully our strategic plan people can be there too kind of all work together and making sure that everything sounds and looks like what the community wants and it matches the data so I'm really excited all these meetings too will be recorded So if they can't come to person in the study sessions that we're going to have they'll be recorded and yeah we'll get to work so that's exciting and then next we have um our 10B agenda item which is board policy Review Committee of names recommended and discuss possible dates so Madam president members of the board I'm going to go ahead and hand down some sheets here we don't I think we set an aspiration to have all of these for today and I said I'll do my best the one that we are struggling with a little bit as a community member and it's not because we can't we can get you a dozen community members we there's been concern in the past when those community members have also been staff members so we have a number of Staff members who are also community members that are very interested we've been we've been having a challenge finding every time we find someone we think is a Community member we find out they have a kid in our school so they really kind of fit that family category and so that's been really the biggest challenge so we haven't given up we will definitely find someone to fill that role if anyone is listening right now in your community member that is not a staff member or already a family member of a student we would we would love to have you join us I definitely obviously know people that I can possibly strong arm into this um just depending on like you know I gotta come to them with more information about maybe once we figure out more about the frequency of meetings or what the commitment will look like because there are a lot of alums that I know that would be good for this but I just need to come with them with more information before I try to get them to do this so hopefully maybe this next conversation will get us a little bit more of that information and that'll that'll Empower a little bit but we're excited about the team that we're presenting we've had a couple of these folks have volunteered to participate we also have several folks that that were asked and the reaction has been very positive for from those individuals and the pain I got to overhear the conversation with the parent today Dr dupin was kind enough to reach out to a parent who has had did you say four students who have come through Mackin and current one of their students is currently a sixth grader there so and there's somebody who we we're not just looking for a parent we're looking for a parent who definitely will have some opinions and will be not shy in sharing those opinions otherwise you know why put someone on the committee and it sounds like this individual definitely meets those criteria and was very open and welcoming to the participation so that's that's super powerful because that's sometimes a little bit of a a challenge to find because you you want to make sure you've got someone who's going to be an active participant just for transparency sake it's my understanding this list isn't online right now correct I was just gonna say it out loud since it is something discussing so we have Adriana padako is a principal at Monta Vista Megan Breslin who's a teacher at Mackin James Diaz who's a teacher at Kennedy at Loma Linda and Biltmore prep Alan Hirsch who's a certified coordinator for exceptional student services at the district level Brian kindell who's the assistant principal at Gateway Claudia what about what about interesting okay that was a hard one for me parent at Mackin Adam Valadez who's a sixth grade student at Monte Vista and then Jesse Valenzuela who's a behavior support specialist at Kennedy Alum Linda and then there's just that one yeah vacancy so those are that's who we're talking about a thank you to Mr Diaz and Mr Hirsch for volunteers yes I mean wow okay I thought we were gonna have to be like begging people so that's exciting um that happened the same night as as we decided to move forward awesome awesome so any more discussions there's a discussion it says here discuss possible dates yeah so I you know I think one of the only other pieces if there's an if we have any you know viability for what we would consider you know I know we have a time frame to backwards engineer from for this this may meeting you know we wanted to be able to not only bring it to the board in early may but then in April I think there was a uh a Leadership Council a community council that we wanted to get feedback at and so backwards engineering from there um I'm assuming we probably want to get a meeting under our belts in September but clearly the rest of this week and next week are already off the table and we need to give some folks some lead time so I guess the big question is the frequency should it be monthly every other week um my thought was that we would at least set the first one and then and have the committee kind of come to a consensus you're obviously not going to be able to accommodate with eight or nine people everybody's schedule every time but to be able to have them to take some ownership over how frequently they're meeting and and where and when and all that stuff especially because it's an open meeting and they're the ones having to do the work so I would hate to decide that for them but at least get the first meeting set um I would hope that we are able to communicate how much like that this is a lot going to be quite a bit of work to do and so that it I would imagine that it would likely need to be like an every other week thing for a little while maybe at the end it can be a little less frequent but it feels like that might be the most effective especially because some of those aren't going to happen because of the holidays yeah so so one thing that we might want to do with that first meeting is get it established maybe before the month is out right because clearly the next couple of weeks are a little challenging but perhaps find a date at the last I don't know if the next the last week of September is is open or not but either that week or the last September I love the concept of consensus in the first meeting for moving forward but we may want a little more time between the first and second meeting than the two weeks just to give people time to digest the policies because I'm assuming in that initial meeting we'll probably need to do an orientation to those policies and then and then have the opportunity to give folks some time to really spend with that and process and then the only other thing I was going to mention was obviously um if we could get someone maybe an attorney at the first meeting to do a brief overview of some open meeting law stuff but also if we want them to come to this consensus I know it's going to have to work with um maybe Russell or whoever's helping the meeting to like we want to make sure everybody's included in that consensus because I would hate yeah to do something that doesn't work with that especially because there's extra work going into this which I really appreciate yeah thank you thank you yeah because we will actually have several support staff there's someone from Russell's team to assist with the streaming we'll have somebody to be our keeper of all the notes in minutes and then um we'll also need to have someone there to assist with translation so um it'll there'll be quite a few staff and we want to make certain it would be ideal in my mind to the best of our ability to keep those folks consistent so you know we'll definitely want them to be part I think that's why I've been part of that conversation on consensus so um so the attorney being part of our first meeting May Drive a lot of the scheduling um so perhaps what we could do is um you know hate to create more work for for Miss Suarez but perhaps have her work with Sanchez to see what um evenings that aren't already scheduled for other committee work and board meetings and and other evening activities might be available for her to be there yeah I think if we can't if it's going to be an issue I think if we could even just request like a one-pager from Jessica that's easy to discuss with people on the committee that I'd hate to have that be the dead and maybe Jessica can send somebody else from her office yeah that's what I was thinking as well so um and you know Hilda is the person who tells me where to begin when to be there so I shouldn't be an issue if held is in charge of it but um certainly she would need to coordinate with USC other ex official members certainly okay so we'll get we'll get that first meeting scheduled and then we'll have and then I'll just say since we're doing next official thing I will make myself as flexible and available as I can if I have to zoom in or call somebody I don't mind I'll figure it out I don't want to be in the way of anything that helps a ton all right perfect do we have any more discussion all right and that brings us to 11a which is future agenda items Miss Harris any future agenda items Miss Gibson McLean yeah actually something that I've thought about since I ran and we've discussed during the superintendent search and other times is um you know the prospects when I was a student in this District our school and I know things were different 20 30 years ago but the schools were before open enrollment the schools were the centers of our neighborhoods we only have one park in this District our schools were open after hours I was able to go play basketball play on the playground do whatever until a certain time usually like dusker like when the sun sets and I wasn't the only like plenty of people are taking advantage of that and I feel like if we're able to even figure out how to do that at like one two or three schools I I would love to visit that and and figure out what that would look like or what resources that would take because I think that would um and we talked and I think we both talk you talked about too I think I liked what you talked about as far as like giving even more ownership to community feeling like having ownership over um our schools and so also just more and more opportunities for fellowships and connections and communities so that's something that I'd love to see on the agenda if we could even just explore what that would look like did you get that Miss Juarez yeah and I have a future agenda item two I would like for us to discuss policy d j e d j e um lately one of my goals um for these next three years is to really learn about procurement learn about our contracts and learn about all that fun stuff and that policy um States something about our wmbe which is the woman in minority business enterprises we have a very vague policy on that so I would like for us to discuss it and have it changed no more future agenda items the only thing I'd say is I've heard my colleague mention the employee handbook many times we're still at the beginning of the school year I would love to see that on the next or so the very next after that I don't I know the word penultimate I don't know the opposite of that but whatever this one or the next one after that would be yeah and and I'm sorry that's my fault Hilda sent me the the agenda and I didn't fill that out yet but I will do that tonight and I will make sure that that gets put on so we can actually discuss the professional agreement at some point okay all right hearing nothing else I motion I move the governing board adjourn second all those in favor thank you guys buenas noches

already um so well uh you know thanks for all you're gonna do for us and um like you said welcome aboard um all right so I agendum uh or agenda item four um appoint Metro West Tobacco Control project manager I'm just going to say the abbreviated Pari and I'm gonna let you say that last name Roger that's beyond me yeah how do you say that Govinda right now did I pronounce it right yeah okay yeah thank you and we welcome Mr Pari who joined uh Framingham health department and it's gonna be uh part of the meadow West Tobacco Control project uh buddy if you're introduced to our board please thank you yeah uh now thank you for having me and I am based in Framingham Department of Public Health my background is ayurvedic medicine and I have done my masters in Psychology and Masters in public health I had been working in clinical research and public health areas so past one month I'd been working as a tobacco control program manager for Metro West District so I'll be covering 60 in communities including Marlboro City and Framingham City so that's about me so if you have any questions please nice to meet you nice meeting you too yeah thanks yeah that's great I think it's a you know very important thing that uh you know to have this and uh hopefully you don't you know find any violations so but uh that's why it's nice to have it around round that's for sure yeah and number one I guess we have to appoint him as as a as agent to the board or as a Tobacco Control agent to the board please you know okay thank you anybody motion to do that I'll make a motion I will not try to pronounce the name to appoint our Tobacco Control agent okay anybody want to second that I'll second that all right all in favor I I right sorry I think you're in that's probably a five-nothing vote so thank you very much yeah we appreciate it okay all right excuse me it's actually four four Barbara's not here okay thank you okay all right thank you all right the four of us are here it's still a unanimous vote so thank you all right moving on to uh the fifth agenda item the septic system variants hearing request for 26 strobus Lane hopefully we're not too late for that and that is um is it Dan McIntyre uh yes yeah Dan how you doing good evening uh for the record uh Dan McIntyre with McIntyre engineering representing the homeowners uh they are in the process of selling their home and and failed the Title Five inspection so I need to replace it can I share my screen to show you the planner no all right uh it's saying it's somebody's gonna let me in here it's disabled yeah there we go this should be all set yep thank you everyone see that yep yeah okay so go to orientate you uh strobus Lane is up at the top of the the plan uh the existing septic system is located in the backyard there's a there's a tank right here behind the house and there's a leading area here uh there are some Wetlands directly behind the house here as well we had those delineated by a professional Wetland scientist and we did go to conservation communication and get approval of this plan as well so what we're proposing to do is relocate the leach field portion of the septic system from the backyard to get it away from the wetlands and out of the groundwater table and put it up in the front yard here uh we we tested up here the soils are are decent up there and there's enough room to get a system in there get it away from the wetlands the tank itself still needs to remain in the back because there's really no way to reroute the plumbing so we've got to connect to the existing plumbing coming out of the back of the house with a septic tank here and we'll have a pump tank here to pump it up to the front because the front is uh is higher than the backyard we're proposing to put in an alternative uh system that's approved by dep it's the Elgin system it can give us better treatment in a slightly smaller footprint to fit into this existing lot to make everything work though we are asking for a couple of uh town of Ashland variances and uh title V local upgrade waivers uh one the ashwan regulation and a local upgrade waiver refers to percolation test uh due to the depth of the natural material material in the front yard and high groundwater conditions we were not able to perform a percolation test so the title V recognizes that and allows us to determine the percolation rate through a laboratory Civ analysis which we conducted in and determined the uh the percolation rate from that that process gives us a concern affirmative number but we do need to ask for a waiverance for that the other aspirin waiver is the prohibition on bed Arrangements we are proposing this to be in a in a bed configuration using the Elgin units this is about as close to a trench configuration you should get with using this little term units so we're asking for that to waver from the Ashland regulations the other Title Five local upgrade waiver is respect to the septic tank uh since the groundwater in the backyard is very high uh the septic tank will be into the groundwater deeper than we typically would want to do that so we are specifying a heavy duty tank an h-20 rated tank and with sealing that the pipe penetrations with rubber boots because we'll be in the in the groundwater table there so that complies with title five requirements for putting a tank in this type of situation so that's a brief description of the of the system I can turn it over for any questions now so Dad I'm assuming you know that the um that it passed that modified percolation test it did yeah so I I don't really know what any of this stuff means so you know I'm as as long as as long as an engineer says it's good and raw says that's good um you know I think we're going to say it's good I I don't understand you know the um the last thing you were you were talking about the heavy duty tank and the the um the groundwater is is higher I don't understand what that has to do can you just explain that a little bit more sure the uh the backyard is right next to the the wetlands so the groundwater table is close to the surface so when we bury the tank in the ground uh the piping coming into the tank is right at or just about within the uh within the groundwater table the seasonal High ground water table so we want to make sure that's properly sealed uh so we don't have uh groundwater infiltration into the tank and we want to make sure that the tank is heavy enough so it doesn't float up out of the ground from the buoyancy effect uh and so and then that's the tank that's going to hold it and then it's going to get pumped up to the filtration system in the front exactly gotcha okay right any other board members have any questions I have a question and thanks Dan for explaining all that um so I understand that the leaching trench system but when you say a bed what do they mean by um bleaching bad versus Trench going on a conventional system where we use Stone and pipe a trench would be something about two or three feet wide with crushed stone and pipe blade in it and then the next trench would be you know nine ten feet away uh with another three foot wide Trench bed configuration is just a large rectangular area of stone with pipeline in it okay so look under title under title of fives the VP prefers the trench system which is which is why Ashland prohibited but under Title Five the beds are allowed but it's not the preferred type of system because it doesn't doesn't give us good um air transfer into the soil like trenches do okay thank you very much okay is Ed you good anybody else so is there any anything about this particular uh design and the way you plan to implement it that would that should address that problem of the air penetration into the soil or yes um so the Elgin units are are not a uh a uniform bed all the way across we have um kind of trenches of soil in between the Elgin units that allow Trans Air transfer between the Surface and the bacteria in the uh in the units themselves and we also vent it so air can transfer from the vent up through the house Plumbing stack so we got air flowing through the system to compensate for uh for that air transfer we lose in a bed system and thanks um and what's the expected lifespan of the of the pump uh the pumps are pretty good nowadays so the manufacturers you know they say in in the 15-year range but it's the same type of pump that you would have if you had a well or in your dishwasher your washing machine it's that type of pump that's a small small horsepower pump and they're they're pretty reliable and what would uh what would you know signal to the homeowner that there was a failure would it be that the tank filling up and and not draining and then you know the normal kind of backup that you would no we wouldn't let it get that bad so we inside the pump tank we put in a an alarm float so if the pump no longer operates and the tank starts to fill up uh this float will raise up send it an alarm it'll be an audio auto audible invisible alarm uh to the homeowner so he knows that there's something going wrong there and to have and to call the electrician to take a look at the pump in in the in the pump tank itself above that float required by code to have at least 24 hours of storage so there's 24 hours of storage in that tank to give the homeowner time to respond great thanks good question Dave okay um Roz you good with everything yes sir it was reviewed all all good sir thank you okay can can we pass the Ashen regulations as a set if somebody wants to make that motion 3037 303 11 and 3 and 311 D or we pass them Alder we have to do each individually Laura you have any uh input on that uh um I I did send I did send them out as emotions but um I think if you I we have one so which uh yeah or can we just say 302 I think it's 303 Title Five regulations that you um is that correct for us and then one common is common you know local ones that that should do okay all right well I can do that I'll do the three Ashland regulations for first three or three dollars one one vote you want to do that yeah so um so I make a motion and this is for the chapter 303 Ashland regulations make a motion um to Grant a variance um from Ashton Board of Health regulations 303-7 to allow subsurface sewerage Disposal system to be designed without the required two percolation test the acceptance rate determined by Civ tests per dep policy and section 303-11 to allow subsurface sewage disposal this proposal system to be designed without a garbage disposal with the conditions that no garbage disposal be installed within the house and a deed recording be placed on the property stating no garbage disposal should be installed in the house while the subsurface sewage Disposal system is in use for 26 strobus lane and then finally section 303-11 subsection D to allow for the installation of a leaching bed in lieu of a trench system I will second that right all in favor aye aye okay great that passes thanks Jay good job everybody want to do the same for the um the title five local upgrade yeah and I'll just do the three okay um okay so I make a motion to Grant a waiver from the title five regulation section 15.405 section 1B to allow the offset from the foundation to be reduced from 20 feet to 18 feet you want to pass them all as a single one I think we Roger said we had to do them individually we'll do them individually Rush okay sorry anybody want to second that okay what I heard Ed okay good Dave thank you all in favor aye all right okay and I make a motion to Grant a waiver from Title 5 regulations Section 15.405 Section 1 I to allow a sieve test in lieu of percolation a percolation test that's right anybody great thanks Dave all in favor aye aye great thank you okay and finally I make a motion to Grant a waiver from Title Five regulation section 15.405 section 1j to allow less than 12 inches between tank piping and groundwater second okay second thanks Dave all in favor aye aye okay all right well thank you very much yeah thank you all right so we kind of move on to uh item six which is Mill Pond Rest Home hearing for infestation of bed bugs and a kitchen issue so Raj I'm going to give this one to you again thank you sir so just want to update the board you know about milk on we do have this bed bug situation going on I guess for four months now you know uh initially we had some calls but last week you know uh not last to last we we had two calls you know in a week you know and one one of the occupants calling us crying you know that that bad book uh situation persists you know and I went for an inspection uh same time and I found a huge bed bug you know and I and then we had some kitchen issues you know there is a road roaches infestation in the kitchen you know and my impression uh both of these organisms you know mainly be uh poor sanitation you know and then I end up talking to Mr Sweeney who is on call you know then he notified me or he told me that they plan to close operations uh for this establishment for in three months or so you know so I'm I'm concerned you know given how it is going that it further can go bad you know uh and realtor Matt are here you know so I just want some Assurance from them that uh this this and and they've been instances before that middle Pond was in front of the board I guess in 2018 for similar issues you know so I just wanted to make sure the body is aware or did they make sure you know that things are complied too till they are in business uh or you know they have this operations in Ashland okay um okay so the the roach infestation in the kitchen where I don't recall that um from the last report we had we had one dead roach out in our shed and um from Mr Curran and then there was one on the outside threshold that he bought he said it appeared to be an improach but I did have the company come in and they found no evidence inside the building inside the kitchen there was just that one dead one inside the shed which is not connected to the building and we had a delivery that day so who knows um only the road you know only these bugs know where they come from um as for the bed bug yes we you know we noticed this in May and I mean we found evidence so I called the company and we had the whole building done um we spent almost seven thousand dollars and had this the whole building done uh we thought it worked and then we started getting a couple of complaints here and there we checked internally because that's what we're supposed to do and um we couldn't find evidence of anything so um then you know you came in Reggie for your um your inspection and I got right on it I had them come out and uh we did the areas what they called the hot spots on Friday we emptied out the rooms completely we did the complete thorough uh treatment and they they put um volcano monitors in each and every room and they'll be back in two weeks to check those so we are responding um it's not that you know we're not responding I definitely am trying to take care of the situation it's an old building um and like I said before only the bug knows where it came from I don't know my only question read I you know I I get that you have F words you know this is going on for four and a half months you know like living in a situation and getting by it's from the bed bugs you know like and so much time you know I saw that today's report it still says you found six bed bugs you know and very surprised at Terminix writing that they didn't find no activity in room five when when I came that day it was just in matters of second I found this huge bat box you know so there is some sort of lapse happening you know like uh five months into it that you still have activity and that I has been suffering you know so I I am I'm just not getting it you know like you're saying you're doing it but like by then still why there is an activity for such extended period of time well it was May at the end of May that we were initially treated the building uh and then we just did this the end of August well September 1st so the time period um and and I I can't tell you that but they were in that room for quite a long time and they found no activity in that room or the adjacent room uh what they did find was in those two rooms that seemed to um we've been doing them almost monthly since May so those two ones there wasn't there was nothing done for two months when this when this person was moved in you know like I I'm I'm just surprised I I feel so sad the person calling crying you know and her hands was all with bites you know like how do we how do we do this with seniors you know like well medical issues um she does sit outside in the evening and she admitted that herself that some of those were probably mosquito bites But there again you did find the bug um so I don't know today I spoke to her she's perfectly happy and knock on wood she said nothing she she doesn't want to talk about it because she said it's been great um but people here have medical issues and and you know they respond differently to different things emotionally I mean I'm like I said I will have them come in as often as I need to to take care of the problem I wouldn't want my loved one in um in that situation so yes I will have them come in definitely you know you have to have this continued uh because I saw on the report there are six bugs they found today too you know so I mean definitely today right um yes they did they they found in a different not in that room at all on the other you know in the another room that's been a continuous issue and regarding the kitchen you know I mean we cannot just take it I mean my my inspector came in he found roaches there and he did not find them in the kitchen if you look at the report there was none found inside the kitchen none they were outside in the shed and it was one dead one but I I have the report right here and how about the sanitation you know why there was no sanitation in process you know given this is a senior living facility you know you you was using paper plates is the sanitation back like no what are we doing yeah we were using the dishwasher was out it had broken down we had it removed we ordered a new dishwasher we were waiting for it to come in and we went to all paper and plastic because that's what we're supposed to do when we don't have a dishwasher for a long a period of time to write that if you don't have a working dishwasher like how do you miss that you know like if if you don't have a sanitation process going in a senior living facility how was we not informed you know like it wasn't a sanitation issue if we went to paper and plastic if we were doing if we were trying to wash the dishes then I can see that would have been a sanitation issue but we went to paper and plastic immediately so we were doing the right thing I I leave this to the board you know I find this you know again for a senior living facility this much going on that's a lot you know so but I leave this to the board now you know so really just it seems like there's there's definitely you know an issue I'm certainly no you know entomologist or a bug expert but it's uh sounds like that that the whole building would need to be treated because whether or not there's a room it's got to be all around but it yeah it seems like it's just going to be a continuous thing for a little bit because if they're continuing to find them you know that means they you know that they haven't found the actual source of the problem unfortunately so you know if you still have bed bugs there that's got to be a continuous thing so you know I I don't know how do you mitigate that you're just gonna have to I guess you know continue you know spraying you know or right we put the monitors in all the rooms right so yeah I'm not even I've never even heard of those but then again I've never had an issue like this so you know I'm not sure how it gets handled I think Raj is just trying to to reinforce you know the the need for you know very rapid response and continued close monitoring you know at this this point I would be doing it on a daily basis I know it's a hassle for you to have to have somebody out there to do it but if you don't we're not going to catch this and right now it seems like it's a small issue but it's still an issue so if these people are living there you know you got to do what you got to do to help try to keep them safe even if that means you know getting them out and and spraying again or continuing to do it I I don't know exactly what to do but so this is what we discussed with um the pest control company and and what they're using they're required they can't use it um it has to be 14 days apart the chemical the chemical works for 14 days and so they can't respray for 14 days um in that particular area you know if they're if they're smelling this chemical then you know they just can move to another area if it doesn't and kill them so it seems like you'd have to kind of do the whole building it doesn't make almost sense to go room by room I'd be doing everything well just because it's not and that's what the monitors are for they put a monitor at each bed so that they'll find out the hot spots um okay and to see how it is so we did the Roman question we did the adjacent room um then we did another room a couple of doors down because we thought we saw um some evidence in there but then they said that there might have been evidence in there but they could not find any um so we did that and then we had repeated a couple of other rooms that were an issue right no yeah I get it I think it's just you know Raj is just asking for a little bit more you know of a of a continuous flow of information so you know that he can do his best to try and enforce what he's got to enforce and make sure everybody is safe that's really all he wants so if you you know if is there anything else that that you think they can do Raj is what what else would you like to see happen here so sir I have a couple of questions you know one for Mr Sweeney you know and one for Rita you know um Rita you said use you was using paper plates you know that no sanitation was required during that whole period was you cooking any food in in your establishment or all the food was outsourced you know we were cooking inside and we were using the two sink method and you know the two sink method is not sufficient right for sanitization you are aware of that right for cooking items for items that you cook in they're being brought to temperature my understanding that it was uh adequate for that it's not you know I mean again about this bad bugs you know I'm a health Professor no so you said you did inspection for this room five you didn't find anything you need to have certain credentials to find this you know so Con on sanitation I just want to tell you that the two basing don't work and it's not according to the code you know so you need to have a three best thing for sanitization and if you're cooking you need to have proper sanitation especially if you are running a senior housing facility just just to let you know uh my question to Mr Sweeney is you know I Mr Sweeney I know you have like four or five facilities that that you handle right of this kind right will you handle yes sorry no this this is the only Redstone the rest of our skilled nursing facilities so you you you you're just your company have four four facilities right as it's mentioned on the website four or five yeah we're a family-owned business yeah right so my question is will you handle a situation like this uh in other homes too like as you are handling the Ashland facility or will be any different if you was not closing the facility no well regardless of what we're doing in the future we're still treating this building and we just got our full support to do so both financially and administratively so it's we are just talking about addressing you know these issues right now as far as you know if there's a there is a freesync that needs needs to go in well I think Reed has already had plumber Quotes come in if there's you know if we see any hint of a bug in a building we immediately call Terminix and get people out there so this is this is treated anywhere in in any building we try to address the problems immediately so there's no harm that can become that can happen to our residents you know it's you know we've owned that building for 42 years in our family and it's it's uh you know we've been a community partner with Ashland for a long time but why do you think the problem is still persistent after four months you know like that that that's something I'm very surprised you know like where are the lapses you know I know Terminix told me when I talked to the manager at Terminix or whoever called me they said you are never prepared you know so that that was the input I got from Terminix though I don't see on the reports you know but like I'm I'm concerned uh four months into the problem and it's still persistent according to today's report you know well if you look at if you go back to Bay you know the entire building was fumigated and then months a month after that we have uh you know people coming out looking for any other pest and what they'll do is that if if that's you know if there's any evidence of such they tell reader and Rita will immediately call Terminix back in here like she said there's a there's a 14-day window after treatment so we have to follow their guidelines but it's not something that we just let go we treated the whole building in May at the end of May and you know kept an eye on it but these things these things are sneaky I'm sorry the building is older and you know they they've talked about that it's you know with a lot of our residents coming and going um we have residents that come from all certain different venues you know we have homeless we have a number of different things this is a rest home it's not a nursing home so they're the Rest Home guidelines are a little less stringent people come and go they can they can walk to the store there's there's a lot more freedom for folks they go back to home overnight and and things like that so those are the all those things that we have to keep an eye on yeah thank you okay all right yeah please I was gonna say I have a couple of questions so so going forward I think is is obviously the biggest area for concern for the next month the facilities due to close um the first yeah January yeah we've submitted paperwork into the Department of Public Health you know for for various reasons not just something like this but it'll be January 1st okay uh yeah sorry obviously September first um I forgive my confusion but in any case um so it sounds like to address the food preparation issue that you have plans or you're investigating plans for a threesync uh three things for to sanitize the code right um so is that going to be adequate then Raj well we have a dishwasher in place now you need to have a three-basing to comply with the code you know the dishwasher is just an accessory unit if if you don't have a three bit sink you're not complying with the code waiting to hear back from the rest of the quote I think we decide performance out already you know after after you come in rush so um that is regardless of when when this you know our last resident could be transferred by the end of September but we're still going to maintain this building thank you okay and so I guess that brings me to my next question which is so you have residents that will be moving on to other facilities um and there's a bed bug issue um what are you doing to address um the concern or the the almost certainty that that there's a risk of of bed bugs following the residents to whatever facility that they end up in I think that that's uh well one of the things that happens when this happens is that in entire items in the room uh you know are heated and washed and sent to the dryer that certain temperature will kill you know any bugs like that I've had people come up to uh to other buildings after after May and we haven't had an issue or and there's been no issue about people transferring so we it's been a gradual you know we've gone from about 22 people in the building down to 12.

um so we're we're very careful on on where in the building it is and how wherever they go there has to be you know up front with the transfer facility about what's going on and you know if they were to come up to one of our other buildings for instance the plan in place which has happened in the past is that they would come up with a limited amount of clothes the other clothes would go directly to our washing area and immediately washed separately from everything else the two described right yeah I don't really think it's an issue of clothing I think it's uh an issue of uh being in that old wood Thriller firm for for quite a while and do you uh when do you expect you know that the the last residents uh will be leaving the site well census is down across this state from from a number of these issues and I think it'll be fairly quickly we have two nurses in the community um and they'll be working with Rita as well as other homes in the area we try to keep that on a plan to uh to something that's more convenient for each individual family so if one family is from the Framingham area we'll we will look at that and expand our going outward but if someone's from Worcester and they would like them closer him I heard it closer to home then we would work in that area so you said you have um 12 residents left yes 13.

114 291 is there a motion to root yes sir is there any discussion okay Dennis wake up yes it would be in the back and I'm sure and I assume I mean I read it in detail but I assume that it's got the Locking mechanisms work it comes up there's a tractor runs Bob and then it comes down and then the track it hooks into and then your your tie down have the books on yeah uh this one will hold up because it seats on the track yeah okay I'm attractive it's a long time this one's the one you guys regression by last year it should be in November of this year the other full-sided so 12 14 months yeah and these are new buses right that's why saving so long is they're not even paid yet they're not able to they're they're making spec one you might get a little quicker because of a dealer was going to use for a stock bus for them they've met all of our specifications yeah that first bus we requested questions yeah and then uh the one this is replacing when we're currently using right well we've got four smaller yellow buses that are over the 12 the actually is not all the student over a year time ago but they still need all safety specifications sure yeah they're inspected just like in fact it wants to get 12 years and you're inspected twice a year and to make sure that they're good all right any other questions for discussion yes Carol yes Vicky and Stephanie yes Scott yes all right and number four is also about this recommendation to purchase a yellow 14 passenger school bus to purchase implies with bus replacement buses are 12 years old the cost of this bus will be 109 900 is your motion to approve so that's it any discussion thanks for the work yes yes yeah this one is 14 passengers so it's not handicapped no this one doesn't have a lift the lives about six thousand dollars it's a broad lift okay so this is what do we use this type of bus tour this one this is to be used as a special right it's still a yellow Throne or transporting students from home to school okay is that the difference between the yellow bus and the white bus the yellow bus is home to school white bus can be used if it's a special program but typically and then you're gonna have to pull a white bus off the road yeah I don't think I realized it yellow and white yeah and then let somebody like me to drive the White House there you go I was scared to death [Music] all right any other questions all right let's do real fun maybe yes Carol yes Vicky yes Stephanie yes Doug yes all right number five the approval to accept 400 from Central Credit Union and it's paid forward 2.0 uh discussion about that I love all the handbooks uh there were some changes like the same change in the discussion Amy yes Carol yes Vicky yes Stephanie yes all right number nine recommendation to approve the updated Transportation policies and procedures to improve thank you and then let's see is there any discussion about it also not any major changes right let's do welcome Amy yes Carol yes Vicky and stuff yes yes all right number 10 recommendation to approve the donation of 360 staff it's your recommendation to approve so move and any discussions this is actually the sort of the staff would be that they wear jeans and you know put money in or yeah a specific fundraiser and one of them is for respects so great [Music] yeah we've done that yes teachers are good at that because they're always good at contributing their own money for their school so we appreciate that um and I remember something okay so it was perfectly fine all right let's do roll up okay yes Carol yes biggie yes Stephanie yes yes all right now the percentage of the items Personnel starting with separations at Brown County School System Johnson affected August 21st 2023 through the transfer of we have 13. I'm sorry with that with that woman who came in um that Rajiv met with and then so we have 30. and you know let's say you know in 30 days you don't have any more residents there what's your plan for the building our plan is to maintain it throughout if there's you know if we can develop it down the road we haven't really decided to be honest if we want to knock that down and develop the property or sell it outright to a developer helper um or anybody that's looking for housing you know we were talking about it you know um earlier this year we were talking about it uh uh single housing so it's um I'm sure there's a number of different issues but we'll maintain that building all the way into the point where it's uh demolished because um we'd have to maintain I've already talked to the to our neighbor that does the plowing to make sure that if there's a fire during the winter months that the fire department can get in um the smokes will have to be treated quarterly smoking sprinklers so all those things will have to keep continue to happen so um obviously we would need to be advised once the um final resident is there and then uh Raj we need to make sure that both the police and fire department know that when the building is vacant um we'll make sure you know and Mr Sweeney I know we discussed this on the phone can you please share the inspection report from the state with the board you know we just like to look uh see like what the airport said you know you know we discussed this on the phone I'll defer to read around that so I haven't I haven't received the hard copy report back but there were no issues no resident complaints to the surveyors um regarding bugs or they they found nothing um in the kitchen or with the residents complaining the residents never made a complaint but like I said I don't have the hard copy report um I haven't received it yet sometimes it takes a while do you know who has been sucker you know from the state who came out good with the inspection Barbara Palazzo thank you we'll keep you up to date um you know if we have to treat that every 14 days we'll make sure that we keep you up to date Mr Sweeney you know that that was my only thing you know like I just want to make sure you're that again you know for the resident the last president I spoke to I'm I was really sad you know and then when I came in this was a matter of seconds that I found a huge bed bug they might be the biggest one I have found in my career you know and Rita knows it it was within a minute I came back that there is evidence of bugs you know and she said there is nothing going on and to more surprising that I am seeing the Terminix report it says None again so I have to come out and see like where is the labs because the Terminix report says today in that room there is nothing and I'm very much surprised you know like to find a bed bug in matter of seconds and then a pest control telling me that there is no activity that I'm surprised you know so I prepped that room where I prepped that room myself and removed all her belongings from there and I found and nothing not not a dead one not a live nothing in all of her belongings um and that was the prep prior to them coming in everything was removed from the room and and everything was stripped down um so I need to do an inspection so I'll be out and see like what's going on you know so I'll keep you posted on that please thank you one question about it might be the last one it's my only one uh to Mr Sweeney so it sounds like the goal is to have a census of Zero by the end of September or at least there's no intent on having anybody in the building um out to January 1st well I think it will go quick because everyone in healthcare in the long-term care field all their censuses are down so I think people will be able to find appropriate accommodations for each individual person and it goes according to each individual's plan of care as well so it has to be good for them it's just not you know it's just not some place that we just they can they can refuse placement we can find a bed and they can refuse it certainly yeah okay okay thank you yeah well you know that obviously thank you both for coming on you know I think all you know Raj is trying to do is is the same thing you're trying to do is just to keep everybody as as safe as they can until you know the place is is can so if you can just communicate with him a little bit you know more uh frequently I'm sure he'd be happy with that you know if you see something I'm not quite getting since I'm not an exterminator you know if you exterminate and you see bugs I don't see why there's not a re-application right well it's Healthcare that health care so they're they're they can only do so much um and they can you use the chemicals the chemicals last for 14 days now these insects they still can live during that 14-day period of course well that's why I'm saying yeah so you will still see some live um insects during that 14-day period but they say they're not allowed by regulation I don't dispute what you're saying I'm just saying if you just keep Raj well informed you know because we can go back and forth he can say absolutely which he may see if he comes in we're in the 14-day period Then he may see it it's he's just you know asking you know you uh you know the the company the the people that are running it to just to to try to move quickly when you know when this kind of up thing happens I think that's really all he's looking for um so if you you just keep them well informed or you know that would be great okay and anybody else Barbary anything no you're on the all right you're still on mute so okay all right I'm I'm good sorry um you know one of the things I was just thinking of like I know you said um the area where the uh patients uh they said they can't fumigate it until 14 days later but I was just thinking like how you still have all the other rooms that are not occupied are you able to transfer the patients to a safer place instead of them waiting for 14 days I know I mean I don't know if it's most of the patients that are complaining or is it just a couple of rooms that you could probably just use um a room that's is clean that doesn't have the bugs in just temporary right and we did offer that to um the one woman in particular and she refused a room change because it would mean putting her in with somebody else and she didn't want that okay okay all right anybody else with anything no Roger okay hopefully that gets solved sir you know but it pains me you know hearing people crying you know and it's hard for me you know so that's all I can say you know all right well they're going to try to keep you you know very well informed if you have any issues you'll let us know I read and Matt thank you for coming on thank everyone thank you all right all right um we'll move on to uh agenda item seven uh board member committee slash liaison assignments um anybody give this any thought um regarding uh decisions at every turn I'd be happy to attend their meetings and talk to Kristen French about that um and what that means and how often they are and all of that um yeah usually there are sometimes they're on days when we have our meetings and sometimes they're not so or at least that is how I remember it so okay yeah yeah and I was already on the um for the Board of Health I'm already on the comprehensive plan group okay well count me in for decisions Rhonda and I will Circle back with Kristen and and get uh more information about that yeah they'll just you know they'll just she'll just put you on their uh email list and you know I still get them so yeah that's not that's a nice uh that's a nice group and then what is it usually then the liaison brings back information from the meetings and activities and things like that I guess I've been on this committee I don't think we've had any active kind of real collaboration with decisions um you know it's certainly not even anything where you need to go to all of them because Kristin's really good at keeping you know everybody informed you know and if we you know if we need anything um you know I said in on a bunch of their meetings it's definitely a nice group so um yeah I mean if there's anything of interest and and you know you want to bring it up in a meeting we just keep it on as an open Agenda item pretty much every time so you can you know transmit any information that you feel is appropriate okay you know if they help with anything usually they don't they're they're pretty self-sufficient okay no problem yeah yeah sometimes sometimes we can help promote some of their um you know some of their uh you know uh activities yeah you know the hidden in plain sight thing which was you know a great thing to to see and uh that was you know big a few years ago I don't know I don't know if you had seen any of that but it was just about how to have um parents be more aware you know that's really what it was so uh anyway no that that's great yeah yeah that's great okay all right and if we think of anything else or if Raj you think of anything else is there any any other things that we need to you know kind of get our tentacles on that's all also I guess you know she'll volunteer for the for the clinic you know the wax Clinic uh yes we'll include that you know so uh and if if there are other other areas we'll bring you to board's attention you know that that if we need an important member involved you know okay all right that's great all right thank you all right Roger up again yes sir thank you thank you so we have this wonderful event you know uh the decisions and everything we did it with them uh distributed some Narcan we did uh distributed folks on how to use it Dr J and Dr J's wife was there at the event so thank you uh we had some vasp activity at the Montenegro Square you might have heard it in the media you know it was all over uh they finally have found uh the nest you know where this was coming on coming from you know hopefully it will be in control you know so they're like uh I guess six or seven kind of us that we have found uh in there you know that that was making there's like a lot of them you know so I guess like we had couple of bikes also you know one of the residents got than one of us looks like now it's in control Raj where was the where were the NASA's totally all the same location or were they spread around they have found one Nest you know there is a clock right there near to the park you know it is uh next to the clock they found it I guess yesterday or today we came to know about it today you know but I have one more resident from Interstate call about the similar situation so I guess it's uh it's the season probably you know uh that that they are that they arrived I guess the conservation isn't Bata told me like their their life is like 30 days so it might be probably a seasonal thing that that we saw so many of them at one point you know but uh looks better now you know I was there two days back you know uh Saturday I guess I I went to take a look at there uh it's definitely better now and I guess fnw did couple of treatments you know uh to control them and now they have found the nest you know that they should be taken care of great thanks um we had our second blood donation drive at the community center and this time we uh they was able to take 35 minutes of platinum uh housing cases the chestnut Place apartment is doing good you know uh only thing that they're maintaining their dumpster area I'm getting weekly reports uh from them um I am still waiting for the reply on on the road situation you know and as soon as I have it I'll update the board but other than that the situation is better there 137 Pawn Street I have a another call set up with ages office you know regarding the problem property I'm speaking with them on Thursday again you know how to move forward on the property and I'll keep the board posted as I mentioned in the in the last meeting we had uh a meeting with the Attorney General's office they came to town hall uh we discussed couple of properties that we have in town you know that need to be taken here and 137 is going to be the first property you know that we're going to be dealing with uh or all our beaches you know Hopkins Ashland we just still posted you know uh elevated material I was still uh and I guess this good amount of time in this season they was they was closed you know and that's still the case wash on you know we lifted The Advisory the state lifted The Advisory there yesterday you know so that that is good for the resident for recreational purposes at this point uh about the Argo virus you know we have two West Nile cases human cases now in the state uh one of the case was not from the state but you know the page the person got West Nile from some other state and came to Massachusetts and one case was locally and we have 96 positive samples at this point other than that we have four positive samples water samples for table e now you know that's little concerning I was thinking that this late in the season hopefully is not gonna come but it's there you know so still the risk of triple is there you know so we have four positive water samples now in the state right was it the the Middlesex County case that was from there was the the travel related case um we don't know sir you know so they don't disclose you know usually Maybe from the peers we sometimes find out you know where the case is you know yes they they did mention it's in Middlesex you know but we don't know which Community you know the the uh the Worcester one was a uh a senior citizen but I think the Middlesex County one was somebody in their late 40s that's why I thought maybe that might be the travel case right but we don't know right you know like where exactly it is you know so but um I'm a little concerned with the Tripoli though you know but like I thought like last season also we didn't have much activity with Tripoli though we had like eight positive personal cases in this in the state last year but given these four samples now I'm a little concerned you know uh with Triple E also you know like hopefully we have none you know but uh fingers crossed you know so we don't see anything this year on the similar front you know I'm I'm dealing with the abandoned pool on Cedar Street uh we had to order that route to the owner you know last last month and have a one citation of hundred dollars out do we still don't have compliance with them though we we got the pool treated we got we got the property sprayed you know from our Central mosquito control program uh but uh last time I was there last week and still have stagnant water on the pool cover you know so I'm gonna probably do inspection later this weekend and see where we are you know but that's one cool situation abandoned pool situation I'm dealing with currently uh how Street landfill uh we almost have a fine we almost have finalized a contract uh it's uh with uh Langdon environmental uh they're from Portsmouth New Hampshire uh they signed the contract send it back to me today and I'm getting it signed by other Town officials you know hopefully we have that get going you know soon we had a covet flu clinic today uh did uh 17 flu Doses and one moderna dose uh the pharmacy told me that you know there is a new uh covet vaccine uh coming soon you know maybe in couple of weeks you know so we can we anticipate do to do another covet clinic and I have six flu clinics lined up for the season you know we have one flu Clinic next week uh next month we have three flu clinics and October we have couple of them and I'm open for any questions now good job Raj thank you for question Rush can you speak to us about the eight Rodman Road Wetlands violation the email that we got this was last week or so right we got a complaint about uh [Music] kind of unpermitted construction on road man eight Road man Road you know so myself and Building Commissioner went out to do an uh Plainview inspection we found you know some structure that they are raising illegally you know that means that's not permitted by the town so far so um there's a lot of random stuff there there is a camphor in the back that's uh not uh licensed you know there's no plate on it uh so based on that uh we both of us you know we have issued a order letter you know uh our order letter was most more for like like you know it can be harboring condition for rodents mosquitoes you know all women that that's what we have asked them to correct uh building Commissioners similarly because there was no building permit pulled to do any kind of construction you know that uh he have issued his order and similarly the conservation agent had issued a uh order letter because it seems you know some part of the property that they are constructing on is in wetlands so I still have to respond to the companion given today was a busy day with the clinic you know and I was dealing with another typhoid case you know we have a suspected typhoid case um that that travel case again that it took a lot of my time in the afternoon and this evening you know that I'm working with DPS right now to to see uh resolve that situation okay so that's why it was one reason that's why it's not on board's agenda because it was last week and still working on them you know and I am uh gonna respond to the occupant tomorrow you know and see if they still want a administrative hearing you know come come talk to us you know just curious George what was the what is the structure that's going up so I I don't have the proper terminology Dr J you know but he's raising like you know with these pipes you know producing a structure you know he's building something you know it's on the left side of the property like you know putting some iron rods like not rods like pipes together you know and building a structure and what we have been notified by the complainants that somebody living you know uh in that structure okay okay all right thanks yeah absolutely Raj with the with the pool I'm assuming that surprise private property so you can't Camp the town drain that if need be and and make sure that they cover the cost of that or because it doesn't seem like that's going to get taken care of so I don't know how much of an issue it is but I mean it's the I talked to the daughter of the of the property owner right who is not living on site he's in some senior facility it seems uh one of the family member I guess is a nephew who's staying often on you know on on the property like uh but they told me that they drained it but when I went you know it was still water you know and then blaming mother nature for all these Reigns you know yeah so we do have it in control like but it's still not compliant you know uh as I said we we got it treated you know got the property sprayed for mosquito so yeah but still there is a risk you know like given you know how effective or for how long the treatment can be effective you know after we got it done and they there's a resident who lived close by who's definitely concerned you know and I have conveyed this to the daughter of the property like hey you know given given the 2023-09-07 Middlesex County, MA YouTube / WACA-TV Ashland transcript source: youtube Trusts_YouTube · passage 1
hi I'm Mark Bergeron and the presentation you're about to see is the one that I had recorded for showing in Ashland in September uh this one is all about trusts um basically the three that I'm most often talking to people about uh the revocable trust which you would use if your goal was to avoid Pro the probate process down the line after you die the irrevocable trust which couples or excuse me the testamentary trust which couples often use if they want to make sure that if one of them dies the assets are safe if the Survivor needs to qualify for Mass Health and finally the irrevocable trust that single people sometimes use if they want to protect their assets against the possibility that they themselves may need to qualify for Mass Health later on if you get any questions regarding any of this please give me a call my direct line is 508-860-1470 I hope you enjoy the presentation thank you hi and uh welcome to seminar number nine uh of the elder law 101 series that I started at the beginning of this year my name is Arthur Bergeron I'm an attorney I do nothing but elder law and what I've tried to do this year uh in monthly chunks is to basically describe to folks who are older um basically all of the issues that they might need to address or all the major issues that they might be need to address as they get older so this presentation uh seminar number nine is elder law is uh trust what they are do you need one how do they work we've already done a number of sessions we started off with my friends Frank and Mary we always talk about Frank and Mary and their kids Peter Paul and Mary Jr Frankie Mary's goal in life is very simple they want to live in their house until they die they want to be buried in the backyard they want to leave their assets to their kids we talked about Frank and Mary in the first session before they were 60 and what kind of plan they might want we're going to talk a little bit about that actually again today and the in the revocable and amendable trust that they might have wanted we talk about Frankie Mary in their 60s as life is changing in the second seminar then we talked about dealing with that with them in their 70s when they're getting older and thinking about maybe um moving out of their house moving in with somebody shrinking down moving people in we talked we took a break to talk about taxes back in April uh and then in may we talked about Frankie Mary in their 80s all of the things they need to consider to make sure that life is going to be okay for them for the rest of their lives then we talked specifically about why it is that everyone can qualify for Mass Health uh we we spent one session dealing with the last year of Frank and Mary's life and how that might play out and the issues that they want to be facing or planning for during that time we talked about Frank and Mary after they were dead and we talked about a post-mortem to-do list and now we are talking about trusts this is probably one of the most common issues that I'm facing just literally every day clients will come in and say well you know I think I need a trust um and I'm not sure why but everybody's got one and so shouldn't I have one and so in this case we're going to start off by talking about Frank and Mary who are in this case young they are they are 60 years old and they've got their kids Peter Paul and Mary Jr but first of all we just want to take a second to talk about what a trust is and who a trustee is a trust is not for for legal purposes a separate legal person like a corporation is or a limited liability company it is it is a description of a relationship between two kinds of people there's the trustee and the trustee is the legal owner of the property that is in trust and can deal with third parties as that legal owner and can sell things to them and buy things from them and can take out mortgages and do all the things that an owner of property can do what distinguishes um trust property though is that the trustee in that case is not working for himself or herself but rather for the beneficiaries these other people who by the way can include the trustee who are the beneficiaries of the trust and there can be more than one trustee of a trust there can be more than one beneficiary as I mentioned a a trustee can also be a beneficiary the only limitation on a trust is that you can't have a trust with just one trustee and one beneficiary because if you do then the person involved simply owns the property it's not in trust anymore so trusts are meant to solve problems and each each problem has a different kind of solution but I'm going to talk about the three that Folk folks I talked to me the most about the three basic problems and the three basic Solutions when the problem is probate avoidance the answer the solution is a revocable and amendable Trust when the problem is asset protection for couples asset protection as far as protecting assets from nursing homes the solution is a testamentary trust when a when a single person is trying to protect assets from a nursing home the answer is a is an irrevocable and unamendable Trust we're going to talk about all three to start we're going to go back to Frank and Mary in their 60s and they've got their three kids Peter Paul and Mary Jr and Frank and mariona house with about five hundred thousand dollars Frank has an IRA with about 200 000 and savings worth another 200 000.

2023-09-07 Middlesex County, MA YouTube / WACA-TV Ashland transcript source: youtube Wed Sep. 6 Select Board Meeting (Hybrid) · passage 1
foreign good evening everyone and welcome to the September 6 2023 meeting of the Ashland select board um this meeting is being live streamed through waca TV okay um I guess we'll start with citizens participation so if anyone wishes to address us if you're on Zoom use the raise hand function I see Mark is anyone else here for Citizens participation so Steve why don't you come up and um make your statement go ahead sure so as you know I was here about a month ago two meetings back with a couple concerns at my property I invited people to in this board to come look at the facts and review some information nobody nobody took me up on that I also invited the planning board to do the same I had one planning member review the material send an email indicating the plans didn't include the extent of work that was done on my law on my lot and apparently that was shut down by Town Council and an email came from Peter so I don't understand why I'm here I I see your mission statement for public participation I don't understand why it's so difficult to get people to look at some documents and discuss an issue but apparently in this town it continues to be another month gone by school's now open the work's not all done but nobody has taken the time or the invitation to sit down and look at the material and have a rational discussion about what's going on so I'm disappointed but I'm not surprised I would like to get an update as to why that the town has not taken the opportunity to address these issues I talked to my neighbor before coming over here and I understand same exact silence is going on with my neighbor so um it's not just my property or my my issue it affects other not large number of residents but other residents are similarly affected and being ignored so that's that's what I'm interested so let me um so this is the second time you've come here and raised these issues is there anyone here who cares to respond or or set out okay Claudia yeah you know Steve I I did uh send you an email I think one of the times that you emailed us and just explained that I would very much have liked to have been able to have a conversation with you in a discussion but because the first email correspondence we had with you there you know you were threatening um you know legal action and at that point I felt like I was not in a position to to be meeting with you in any way shape or form but I am someone who is always in favor of having conversation with with people and um you know I'm sure there were things important things for us to listen to but I think when when we start off on that foot I know for me anyways I think that I can't um then I don't I don't recall your email so if you can remind me of your email I was here a month ago I don't have any emails from you and uh maybe you're talking about years years ago but I have nothing from any any board member other than one planning board member uh in the last month I didn't I didn't respond because I don't have the expertise to deal with what your issues are but I would hope that there's a procedure that the town has to re address and resolve this one way or the other than getting letters from Town Council that apparently came to me but not my other neighbors my other neighbors told me they weren't similarly getting bogus letters but they have an unresolved issue so I talked to them literally at 6 30 tonight in one case and they're just waiting to find out what the town's going to do because the town is trying to move a boundary that's existed for 70 years that's one of the issues they also have property damage in their building as do I and everybody's putting the finger at somebody else so Town included Town sent the letter saying they weren't responsible due to you know what is it the king's Rule and present presentment I think it's been presented but even if that's the case um you know somebody needs to take ownership of figuring out who's responsible and getting the repairs done I shouldn't have to file a lawsuit to get repairs done you know that's not constructive so I just like people look at the damage understand what happened then they can inform each other as to what a good path is but right now nobody's even interested so that that's kind of my concern okay to you on August 21st after you had sent one again to us a second email on August 20th and I just I'll I'll look for it maybe maybe it's in my junk folder but if you sent when I did not see one it might have thank you she sends out a lot of emails um Michael do you I mean is there anything you'd care to say procedurally or address you know like at this point is there is it would it be of any help if Steve followed up with you about making about a procedural question or what the next step is or yeah I mean it's really not in our jurisdiction it's um school property it is a school building project who the contractor now has control of the property right now for at least a short while um I think you know Steve you presented a case I think there's ample evidence um you know that supports what Paul and Lisa have been telling you um obviously if there's a disagreement about that it goes through legal methods so or legal channels nobody wants to go down that road but okay it's very easy put the fence back where it existed and then we'll all be happy at least yeah but I don't I don't think where the fence was was so it sounds like you should be corresponding with Town Council yeah and yeah okay and I don't know appreciate you Tom consulates told the contractor not to correspond I did meet with the contractor shortly after I was here um I made sure my signs were at the line of the existing prior fence because I wanted to make sure I wasn't misaddressing the issue from Town Council about being over the prior line you know within right Steve I will I will take care of that I will have a discussion with Town Council just satisfy my myself about what's going on but I can't give you any advice it sounds like you've been told to correspond with the Town Council so I think I haven't and I've just been I had an officer sent to my house after the no trespass was served they showed up at my house arguably in a violation of the no trespass because they didn't have a legitimate purpose other than to serve a letter from Town Council that happened I've spoken to the chief I understand the chief's going to ensure that doesn't happen again good but um as far as resolution I haven't heard anyone with an ear that's even interested in looking at the documents so okay thank you all right thank you uh mark I think Paul is there now I'll Gustafson is there I do want to jump in well should we just finished with Mark have we got them open and closing I think we'll have to do that anyway why don't we finish with Mark and then do what we need to get Paul in go ahead Mark he's the last of the public let's just wanted to make sure I wasn't accepting anybody's toes but yeah sure why not speaking and speak another turn um Road again to town manager did he get my Bunches of emails again today um yeah Mark I counted 12 today I think um and I think you're on the right track of with things and I appreciate the enthusiasm I I don't think I'm going to be able or the comprehensive plan members are going to be able to go through that that many emails at a given time so I would suggest maybe just be a little bit more judicious and selective of what you send forward and then also a lot of people have some hesitation on clicking third party links just because of you know spam and fishing and things like that so just be careful affording things like that those those might not get read or they might end up in spam without be the same as being the thoughts of maybe the cop plan people too I haven't talked to all the comp plan people um I can I can speak for myself Mark and I while I appreciate you like Michael said the enthusiasm and wanting to to be engaged in this whole process I like Michael said I don't click on links that people send me I just I've had bad experiences so um you know I would my personal perspective is I would love for you to use that email address to ask questions and um you know be engaged with us I I would I would probably say if you can reduce the amount of the the links that you're sending to us that would be a good thing now that would come up to the question I asked before in the last couple of meetings asking does people on Zoom get a chance to participate at the the comp plan meetings so we don't have a public participation section of our comprehensive plan meetings um we have quite a as you know we have a we have 29 people in the committee itself so it's it's a lot of folks um and we do have zoom participation for the the um the committee members and zoom is really um you know we like to be able to have hybrid meetings so that we can reach a larger audience but I'm not sure at this point if there's time for public participation on Zoom um for our meetings Yolanda I would also say this Mark that there will be plenty of opportunity for public input and and involvement in the comprehensive plan as it moves forward there's a good excuse me there's going to be subcommittees there's going to be special listening sessions there's going to be all kinds of work once we get the consultant on board so I know you really want you know you're excited about this and you want to participate but give us a second and give us you know a little time to get the the committee really moving forward and and get a plan in place on how we're going to do things and then participate as we are asking more involvement as we do specific questions and sessions okay okay and by uh answering it that way and okay all right you all saying that you're fear for a third party emails these are not third-party emails these These are straight from the government federal government and their branches in the uh the Committees that they have in Washington and other in the other places but it's definitely not third party but it was third party I would never sent it because I know the situation that it could be like uh like a like a hack and so the spyware and stuff like that sure Mark excuse me we've got to open a public hearing at uh 7 10.

at 6 pm I know everyone's back and excited to hear about all the stuff that's gone on over the summer and projects that I know we were looking to continue either getting funding on so I'm going to throw it right over to you um Mike and see ya if you want to start off yeah great great so thank you Michelle welcome back everybody um this is uh the first sites committee meeting um of the year and we have a pretty packed agenda there's only five items on it but there's there's a lot in each one of these items and I know there's a city council meeting coming right up at seven o'clock so um we'll try to try to move through this as best we can so that everybody who's heading over there can can make it in good time and get a good seat so um first up rich jalbert did you get on here yet you hear I don't see Richard okay uh would you mind uh chair cuello if we come back to item number one when Rich is on absolutely not a problem okay by all means please great so I'm going to jump into the enrollment update and here we go okay so uh we did an enrollment count today around one o'clock um our total number at this moment is about 12 048 um and I'll give a little bit more of a breakdown of that um in short order um there's a couple points in this there's about a hundred students right now that are sort of in still trying to get paperwork in you know uh you know proof of residency all this all these sorts of documents that that are required before we move them to the next step um that's about a hundred kids so in realistic terms right now we're probably looking at about 12 150 students enrolled um these numbers are growing every day um so I I have no doubt we're going to be well over 12 200 uh within the next couple weeks um probably well on Pace to to that 12 300 which is right about where we were at the end of last year and as you know these numbers they they will fluctuate in these in these first weeks as students come in late and also students who don't show up where you know they move to a different district and didn't tell us and then you know we go and we subtract them from the role so sometimes these numbers do balance a little bit but but I do expect a steady climb as we keep going so a couple bubbles that I just want to point out here are second grade is the covet bubble that that we've been talking about for a little while where this is the year where a lot of parents whose kids were supposed to enter kindergarten in that uh fall of 2020 uh waited a year so that created a sort of it compounded it into fall of 2021 that group is now entering second grade so that one has about 90 to 100 more students that's 992 students in that second grade and then we also have a bubble around ninth grade which is pretty typical um and this is uh for a number of reasons um the one of the biggest there's two big reasons why we always see a bubble around ninth grade that's again 1119 students in ninth grade 972 and 10th grade 867 and 11th grade 764 and 12th grade and the reason we see this bubble in ninth grade like I said there's two real reasons one is if students don't complete a full six credits in freshman year um if they they fail a class or or just don't have enough credits they're still counted as a freshman and then by the holidays sometimes we see them move out of that because they've missed they've picked up that half credit or whatever that course was that they were missing and then they gained sophomore standing so these numbers too also balance out and the other reason too is that if we receive students um who are high school age but don't have enough information on their transcript where we can you know understand you know if they came from South America or a a district or we can't verify information um they'll get put into ninth grade until uh more information can can come out or we can get that transcript just so they can get started in school so again that ninth grade number it is it is a bubble it tends to have a little bit more at the beginning of the year and then it'll start to balance out as more information comes available so like I said 12048 as of about one o'clock this afternoon uh realistically with those extra kids that are still defiling in paperwork and whatnot probably about 150.

opportunity in this District all the work that's been done on your implementation to date and the work that we envision moving in the future um the implementation plan looks very familiar to the ones you've seen on past Master plans where that Center section it's kind of in a bronze color is phase four where we are currently working through right now with McManus Elementary under construction and then if you recall it the last meeting we were together the board also helped us prioritize not only the remaining funds in the current Bond but the next phases so that we could put an implementation plan together that not only met the community's needs but also aligned with the likely funding sources going forward we have assumed at this point moving forward with bonds over eight year Cycles starting next year that's an assumption it will change and evolve depending on what happens but those are the assumptions that have help us fuel a schedule that in turn fuels some cost estimating assumptions we've made so focusing first on the current phase the board had directed us to use some of the remaining dollars on a number of key issues one was a renovation of citrus elementary school and that was with recognition of its size its age and its need for some updates additionally transitional kindergarten implementation we went through a process of developing um developing plans for each campus and identifying the transitional kindergarten needs in relation to kindergarten if you recall we said kindergarten minus one would be aware we'd Implement transitional kindergarten and identified the sites that would require that Safety and Security projects that's in a kind of a lump sum but the idea there is to finish some of the work the district has been doing on single point of entry controlled entries fencing and those kind of areas and then restroom renovation projects which are currently in process at Fairview for example but it was also recognized that that was one of the top if you recall from community and student surveys one of the top areas of concern and with some of these projects being pushed out a bit that if we could address that issue it would be one that the community would really support so then we went into cost estimating for each of the phases I will tell you that at this level we are doing order of magnitude cost estimating it's on a square foot basis it's based on current industry Trends and we're putting in their contingencies and soft costs for the district as well as escalation costs as they stand today so again the district does an update almost about every three years and this is a chance to course correct on any of the costs if if those things change and evolve but we have identified about 66 million dollars of use of the existing funds for those priorities we just listed but with one addition and that addition is that we think we can push forward the design work for the priority five projects Rosedale Chapman and Parkview and get the design work ready so that if and when the funds become available those projects can hit the ground running something we heard loud and clear from the board was a desire to move more quickly on the implementation so those items have been pushed forward and using some of the current measures funds in order to begin the design process sorry before you move on can I just uh get clarification about the last time that our facilities master plan was updated it was 2019.
