students so Taylorville a little bit bigger than us not really sure what's going on why you need a timeout right now unless they're just wanting to go for two and put this game out of Out Of Reach in a hurry and take control [Applause] they wore their camo tonight 's probably got 15 20 rows here taken up of students so good job by coach dance for him getting them together Taylorville is going to come out they're just going to kick the p-a-t the way it looks number 20 like we said Clark real hard is going to be the kick High snap gets it brought down gets the kick off and it is good so that takes the Mandy McGuire group scoreboard Taylorville seven Columbia zero we're gonna head to a break and we will be back right here on kchs right after this [Applause] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] welcome back to the Columbia multi-purpose field right here on kchs Taylorville just went right down the field got a touchdown and took the score to 7-0 minute 48 remaining in the first quarter just a little wedge kickoff are they all going to run out to their spot well you look at the Defenders for the or the kick returners I said for the Eagles it's like a fake on side almost man they were all they knew it was coming they were all right there ready for it [Applause] I guess you got to keep it on your toes number 20 kicks it down the middle it's going to be a short man getting the return he's going to try to get up the middle and that play happened so fast there was really nothing to do really nothing going looks like Lucas ribling was a return man like I said he tried to get back inside but there was nothing going inside either yeah bowling went 15 20 yards downfield really really didn't have any time to see where to really go there because they were already kind of right in his face so first and 10 Eagles here First and Ten they're gonna go trips to the left side vaguely standing five yards back his running back is standing three yards behind him so running backs already eight yards deep motion man's gonna be Rainwater it's going to be a run to the outside they're going to have good stock blocking out here he's gonna have to make somebody Miss but it's not happening gain of negative two gonna be a second and 12.
[Music] action looks a little out of sorts and they are enough yeah but McKay didn't want to take a chance all the time out I know restrooms are located is that definitely hear it more maybe put it flat on the ground again thank you so 30 second timeout it's enough for that clock is to reset their defense [Applause] Webb takes the handoff rolls out and another drop pass by the unknown unnamed player number two coverage was tight it's another another not looking it into his hands turning up field before he had it let's see the caucus can hold here on fourth down [Applause] started to move in the backfield so that's called it it's going to be five yards make it fourth and seven might change the decision but I doubt it I'm guessing it's still gonna go for it [Applause] [Music] Governor Sherman coach Steve Ryan not happy with those penalties so it looks like they they might do a quick kick who's there the punter is the quarterback he does think he's going to throw it they got nothing great coverage by crisp and pass intended for number 12 Ronan Richards even if he caught it was short of the first down just great pressure by the offensive line defensive line excuse me Webb never had a chance oh Dover Sherburne offense made a little bit of noise but they actually had handled them quite easily coming into the game for Ashley and number 21 Zach Brennan the antenna keeps it again rolls to his right picks up five [Applause] yards second to five he's just joining us welcome to the opening night broadcast here on waca TV I'm Rob silver and if you are just joining us you missed the two touchdowns by the clockers who's taking a 12-nothing lead as we approached just under three minutes here in the first half Soccer Is On Their Own 49-yard Line a pitch to Juan Emerald upright running stance gets a yard brings up third and fourth scoring me at the uh by the clock was chasing Crispin at a 19-yard run after a long drive with a converted two fourth Downs and a one-yard excuse me one place 64-yard run by senior Captain cam antenna from the gun formation fakes the pitch and this one's going to go to rosalumba he's got some speed just take just chase down by Richard for the 31-yard gain and that's the explosiveness that the scouts talked about [Music] worse than 10. from a defensive standpoint if you haven't really seen the gunk offense it is tough to defend when it's run correctly cam Antioch is running it perfectly great leader just what this team needs time it's to Crispin who cuts it inside again five yards on first down making it very tough to defend second and five just so many options for the offensive coordinator pitch to Quan Emerald Dover Sherburne all over that one maybe picks up two Falls forward sets up a third and three for the clockers clock running down in the first quarter beautiful evening here at the plateau couldn't have asked for better weather nice cool breeze Anthony with the hard count and Coach McKay is going to use another timeout third time out in the first quarter somebody checked the record book what's uh what's the record for timeouts in the first quarter maybe my stat guide again the concession stand located on the enjoying with my class one last time looking forward to wait I'm gonna do this with my friends this year I'm looking forward to graduating and getting out I'm looking forward to spending all the excited for the soccero team to win the tvl championship hey guys we're at the fire truck today with the senior class just ran around today's a good day yo what's up guys classic 2024 check-in what I'm looking for the best class they're gonna miss us the most what I'm looking forward to seeing you here kicking everyone's born in football kicking everyone's point in soccer living my dream being at the school Ashland's the best that's right go clockers go clockers [Music] thank you [Music] Dover Sherburne Ashland dominating tonight up 12 to nothing the internet also the ball he rolls left this time still going still pounding away and the refs are going to spot him just short of the goal line you've been watching your science and I've ripped one off for 64 yards down to the one yard line second and goal see who they call on this play [Applause] Netflix in the number 21 Zach Brennan there pitch took Quantum Emerald Quan walks us into the end zone [Applause] touchdown Ashland wasn't even close expression there all right so uh two extra points two missed attempts and see how they do here foreign [Applause] lots of room to spare good blocking by the offensive line and it is now 19 to nothing and we're just one minute into the second quarter they continue at this pace I mean Dover Sherman not a long bus ride but it's going to seem like a cross-country trip heading back home if this continues [Applause] [Music] so we'll see what happens at Aaron Wharf kicking off he's got a breeze behind him it's it's tied down a little bit but wouldn't be surprised if we saw this one go over the head of the deep receiver line drive it could be a Touchback and it is [Applause] that's quite the weapon for the clockers you can do that with more consistency especially when the receiving team doesn't expect it the Dover Sherburne going to start the 20-yard line to be their third possession first possession they lost four yards had the punt second position gained about 25-30 yards four can converted on a fourth down this is their third possession Eric Webb four receivers spread out lets it Fly and that's his uh favorite Target Brian Olson coming back good communication between Olson and Webb you can tell they've played together [Music] best game of the day that's 14 yards Webb looks to throw again this one underneath will play goes for 11 yards two I want to know who number two [Applause] no not us not us don't for sure don't worry about it I just wanted to give him his recognition we'll get it happen foreign [Music] passes in a row two first downs in a row Dover Sherburne and sink Webb lets it Fly he's got Olson down the sideline and breaks the tackle and he's into the end zone the one player really hadn't seen any Targets or really been involved in the uh offense at all Olson does what he's done his whole career that's why he's a TBL All-Star [Applause] Garrett Webb 50-yard connection and it's now 19-6 that is the Achilles heel of Ashland's defense they give up the long pass as they've done it consistently [Applause] got a layer extra point for Dover Sherman cuts the lead to 12 19-7 [Applause] so a high scoring Affair 929 to go and a big play Affair too 50-yard pass from Garrett Webb to Brian Olson and earlier in the first in the first quarter we had Ashland cam antenna taking it on the ground for 64 yards no touchdown [Applause] look over sherbin gonna kick off into the wind again it's crisping and ozumba back deep for the clockers it was a Limba excuse me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] see if Dover Sherman tries anything tricky no doubt Ashland ready for it try a little Squid kick that one's fielded by canning who just goes to the ground [Applause] actually I don't take possession on the 23-yard line [Music] I want to thank our sponsor another sponsor tonight the Ashley inhaler Ale House with delicious food a comfortable family atmosphere and the friendliest service around the Atlanta ale house is open for both indoor and outdoor seating as well as curbside pickups visit them at Ashley and alehouse.com and check out their menu and place an order come on Dover Sherburne takes the time out timeout we're gonna go to a atmosphere and the friendliest service around the Ashland Ale House see who gets it second time has had trouble with the snap it's gonna bring up third and eight for Ashland [Applause] by the time they have to score here but it would be nice to not give it right back to Dover Sherburne [Music] bottom of the screen Robbie Rudisill number 22 single coverage Kevin O'Brien in the slot looking for Rudisill he gets it turns up field breaks one tackle but does what he needs to do and Robbie earn to sell with his first Varsity reception goes for first down for 17 yards and a first down [Applause] definite size advantage rudacill against uh Ronan Sullivan number 10.
you look like the sophomore Jace Nelson there didn't really read the outside block uh you had built them in out here making a good stock block and pushing him kind of towards the sideline Jason Nelson should have put his foot in the ground and tried to get up field there but kind of tried to stretch it out to the sideline and uh hurt the Eagles there loss of about two and a half defense alignment on the I'm gonna call it the top side of the formation had a great jump on the snap Cape Hutchinson last night trips to the right side now four Defenders over there it's gonna be around up the middle gonna be hit right away is going to be Janik but he's gonna gain four with the forward momentum bring up a third down now and nine Brandon Jackson just had a pancake block there you know only a game of about four but drove that guy about five six yards back and put him right on his bum boy 30 seconds left here in this first quarter third and nine we'll see what coach Warner's got here on this third down drips to the right side running back just moved to the right side three down lineman gonna be a rollout for vaguely he's going to set up now he's gonna try to scramble nothing going over on this side he makes nearly one man miss before getting brought down at the 41 and that's going to take us to the end of the first quarter where the Eagles are trailing seven to nothing they're gonna have a fourth down and five decision time right here this might be this might be a little area right here that you might be able to go for it see if coach Runner comes up with a trick play here when we return with the second quarter right after this Columbia Athletics would like to take this opportunity to recognize our s thank you for your continued support of Colombia Athletics let's recognize Corey Pharmacy Wild video gaming parlor my Community Church welcome to me Andy maguiregory Columbia reliable sanitation Bernard Auto Works Associates free Snyder is growing great Louise McDonald's board Interiors Bob Rockland GMC on boot camp Ross Rose Realtree back into decision time for Coach down in five and 41.
Cam internet a little bit lucky tried to do a little too much fortunately it doesn't end up being a turnover as he was sacked before he threw the ball away but a loss of seven eight yards [Applause] see if that influences the offensive set if they go back to the gunk offense a little bit more protection from deep inside now I'm gonna try it again a little title formation the emotionals equally goes to Crispin goes nowhere this time [Applause] kick it off number eight Jason Kristin so third and eight for the clockers third and 17. excuse me 317. after the first down sacked this is one of those situations where throwing it up for rudisil might be a good option you can high point it get the first down even if it's picked off it's as good as the punt the internet middle screen to Crispin he's got some room he breaks into the outside he's got one guy to beat but he beats enough to number eight Jason Ashland picks up [Applause] 27 30 yards and a first down third and 17.
looks like they decided to punt right now [Applause] we'll see if anything comes from it Jason Nelson was late to the show was able to get out there in time it's gonna be a rugby style punt with the quarterback that makes it interesting great punt bounces at the 30 hits at the 25 still gives the Eagles a good bounce and it's finally going to be down at the 23-yard line I got that rugby style there and we saw that last week I believe they did that with that uh Kobe osterhagi uh would roll him out a little bit and I mean if you see an opening might as well put your head down and try to get uh those five five six yards but um punt there flip the field and bring her defense back on the field so let's see if this Eagles defense able to do anything different like I said they've been going pretty much right down the middle the official started the play clock without Taylorville out there so hopefully they'll be scrambling big linemen there number 74 the left guard he's got some weight coming in at six foot 270 Junior trips to the right side now it's going to be quads to the right side quarterback's just going to fake it now it's going to be a run right up the middle yannick's going to miss the tackle and there's going to be four Eagles on the you know not the start that you're wanting and what goes through your mind now is your coach your defense is kind of lackadaisical right now how do you get them fired up it's a great question huh yeah especially with that guy I mean he can fire you up in a heartbeat but uh he can just look at you yeah for real once that hat goes backwards and you know it's the real deal but still forward right now yeah I heard the whistle I looked down and he was already at the numbers [Applause] well they were all nice things to say Alex First and Ten now for the tornadoes from there 35 yard line 11 38 in the second quarter single receiver out to the right side tight end left that's a false start on the left tackle they didn't catch it gonna be a run to the left side and it's going to be great job running the alleys and Bilt them in comes up making the tackle as well good job by the Eagles on the outside there you said left tackles moving early a little bit oh the when the tight end came set the left tackle picked his hand up and once they touched the grass you can't do that I don't know if you didn't watch that game last night the Chiefs game but their right tackle moved I bet every play every play it was every single play and I think it only got called once and it was late in the game after it's already been happening the whole time gonna be tight end to the left this time doubles to the right side sniffer back Left Behind the tight end gonna be a quick pass it's gonna be a slant two Slants I don't know if that was a behind the ball in the slot receiver or just a low throw to the outside receiver regardless First and Ten for the tornadoes that was like a tweener the slot receiver reached back together it was like a good ball though if that was actually towards that outside receiver I mean there's no other spot but for that receiver to go get it um threw it low right at the sticks able to come up with the catch and pick up the first down very impressive out of Odom so far his release just his footwork in his release is very quick so makes things a little bit deep difficult on your defense motion man's number one they fake it to him quarterback right up the middle he's got a massive hole keeps his feet moving gain of 16 First and Ten as the tornadoes are now in Eagle territory kind of just on our heels now they're kind of doing anything they want looks like 88 Hayden heard Luca coming in play that d-line position keeping our guys up front fresh at least trying to coming out was number 52 The Freshman Cason musco still three down lineman for the Eagles walk up man is Keegan Thompson he's a linebacker but comes up now that the tight end moves to the other side he steps back gonna be a run to the right side this time looks like a hold out of number 15.
Ashland ran the they love the middle screen they ran it last week against Wellesley for a good chunky yardage when executed well unbelievable play and everyone did their job first and 10 on the 36-yard line Anthony hands to hammeroff picks up two yards to number nine one Emerald second and eight from the 34-yard one I want to thank my crew tonight we've got a couple new guys I don't have all the new guys names but we got the new guy on the camera Brady monticino Mackie the knife no top Bob Oden helping out with the setup another new guy on the camera [Music] Antoinette rifles it over to uh Jacob prios that's good contributor on the offense last year for the clockers he did eight they got nine that'll move the chains 355 to go in the half Cocker's leading 19-7 marching down the field again trying to answer after a 50-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Webb antenna keeps it takes the handoff to Juan Emerald forges ahead for five yards [Applause] and let me recalculate that voyages ahead for the three to go good drive here really consuming the clock at this rate if the over Sherburne does get the ball back they may be uh pressed for time depending on how long actually and holds onto the ball 22 yards to go Anthony spins it over to hammeroff room there he 15-yard pickup and a first down the array of offensive weapons on the ground is just mesmerizing Juan Emerald Jason Crispin cam antenna all with breakaway touchdown speed clock down to 232 no hurry ahead to the end zone touchdown Ashley Parker I mean Antioch finds the end zone for a second time tonight puts the clockers back ahead by 18.
handkerchief gets thrown I'll say it again we still need to get that microphone for the officials down here so that they can talk to everyone didn't we play was it mosquito that did that yeah they're starting to become a little bit more popular mosquito was the first time I'd ever heard it oh that was awesome they do a great job up there the uh they call it the Mac the is it Mascoutah athletic Corporation could be club club yeah I think that is actually a mosquito Athletic Club do a great job up there with them so they always have some pretty good facilities and good teams as well so that's going to be a loss on the play Spot foul it's going to be a first down in 19 now under nine and a half minutes approaching quarterback's gonna hand it off up the middle of number 20 who gets absolutely popped by number five for the Eagles Maddox Stefan gain of we'll call it four second down and 15.
and Aaron wolf on for the extra point [Applause] a much needed answer it's a big third down conversions they converted a third and 17 third and 13. and that one looks a lot nicer extra point is good 26-7 215 to go [Applause] foreign [Applause] clouds you can see them way way off in the distance maybe 5-10 miles away I love my weather app that's something my uh Sun passed on to me love of the weather and sports Believe It or Not wolf with a kick a high driving kick back to the five yard line fielded by Richard she breaks it outside nice return 36 yard line 37-yard line pick up a 31-32 on the return [Music] [Applause] 37 years [Applause] [Music] the 202 to go Dover Sherburne scored on their last possession three plays 80 yards see what they do here because they found the passing game really in sync copy a screen that's Brian Olson who's on the receiving end of that 50-yard touchdown pass winds picking up could affect the throws and uh there's a passive number unknown number two holds his way down to the 24-yard line [Applause] clock stops momentarily for the movement of the chains a little slow we got the young guys moving the chains clock has started actually I felt a drop of rain they spike it stop the clock [Applause] that was a little strange I thought the uh spiking of the ball giving up a down here there's a few little raindrops starting to fall up here on the roof [Music] so it's second and ten Webb lobs it up for Olson and just like that they're in the end zone again [Applause] so that was the pregame scouting report we talked about Webb and Olson the returning Juniors now seniors bearing fishing last year and have not lost the step if anything they look a little bit more in sync this year so that took 34 seconds for that scoring drive to go 64 yards extra pointed block ball so Ashland maintains a 13-point lead 26-13 [Applause] thank you [Applause] let's go alone [Applause] 's on the T John o'lear ready to kick off be ready be ready good kick that one to Ozil he's got some space on the sideline cuts it back inside let's throw a flag around the 44 yard line on the Block but owns a loomba electric [Applause] Block in the back I'm gonna move the ball back from the 44 to the 34-yard line where action will take over with a minute 15 left not sure if clockers have any timeouts they did use three timeouts in the first quarter but when you're gaining yardage at uh over 10 yards a play can move the ball pretty quickly even with a minute minute 16 is plenty of time and uh Russ calling a timeout injury timeout looks like a cramp looking at the radar it looks like we're just gonna fortunate enough to miss the massive storms that are off to the West foreign 72 degrees at the moment again tonight looking for a root of cell definitely affected by the wind ball kind of carried on them [Applause] a little more air under it and Rudisill would have been walking into the end zone was able to get by his Defender so try that two more times and pump it away if you have to really do it they changed the defense and move it so they get a layer against him at the bottom of the screen [Applause] calls for it keeps it [Applause] stays in bounds I don't know if that's good or bad it's going to be third and two Dover Sherburne will start the second half receiving the ball looks like they're just gonna be content to run it out and go to the half with a two score lead Sherburn takes the time out gonna force him to punt it anything can happen Anything Can Happen though see if this comes back to bite them I wouldn't be surprised if McKay changed his uh thought process around and maybe does something [Applause] stay tuned second half we might get a visit from the new athletic director Kevin Anderson foreign ER everything looks terrific feels in good shape [Applause] go to The Conch offense makes the handoff over there oh fumble and this is why you call the time out and this is why you take the knee if you're on offense up the ball Dover Sherburne gets it back with 27.2 seconds and they're going to take it over on there the 49-yard line number 70.
and look like on that play you had about three or four different things going on a couple guys in motion you could run about three or four things off of that they decided to go and try up the middle could also add on with that motion man a little paw sweep to the outside drip to the left side single receiver to the right quarterback goes under center it's just going to be a sneak right up the middle on second and 15. good for two yards brings up a third and 13. maybe quarterback saw something that maybe take advantage of but maybe only a game I don't know what he was seeing on that one yeah we have what six seven guys in the Box quarterback is the only one going over this time to get the play call they've had nope now it's going to be a timeout Taylorville third down and twelve this is where you need your stands and your fans to get a little louder [Applause] this could be a big play here I mean you're not in four down territory you're I think if you're Taylorville you're probably trying to get eight yards Maybe I have a feeling they're going to come out and go empty here and see if we uh didn't any uh anything different like this on that touchdown that they scored so I think they're going to come out with empty look and take a shot and see if they can uh catch a soft guard I'd even do that roll out that they had the wide side of the field was wide open the ball's going to be on the on the their right hash we'll call it [Music] kind of let that quarterback just do his thing roll out have about four options and if he doesn't see anything you can put his head down we've seen that probably two or three times already tonight or something not much of a feel so far here tonight in this first half 8 17 remaining in the first half third down and 12 from the Eagles 42-yard line they're gonna go doubles ball in the right hash running back on the right side Keegan Thompson steps up gonna be another man cam Jan except he's bringing all the heat it's going to be his screen Eagle's gonna have to make a tackle Bilt him and misses and it's going to be a first down third and 12 gain of 13.
O'Connor coach McKay not a happy camper at this moment Ashley and Jeff's gonna just make sure they don't give up the big play easier said than done is they've given up two long touchdown passes and Garrett Webb is throwing it is uh as good as anybody you can throw it at the moment Target Brian Olson favorite Target at the top of the screen he's gonna go to him again but no he's gonna pull it back and he gets sacked actually gains a yard so it doesn't go as a sack they hurry up they're going to try and uh down it here so they can get one more play off stop the clock with 12.3 seconds brings up third and eight want to play seven eight seconds get a first down possibly down the field or touchdown and then have time for a clock will stop on first down [Music] see the fireworks off in the distance over the trees great view here from on top of the fields outside the plateau William Kunis field so third and eight on the 49-yard line of Ashland Dover Sherburne looking for a last second score 12 seconds to go thrown out of bounds now it's going down now what do you do eight seconds it's not enough to you can't take a knee you can run a play it's only going to take four or five seconds guessing he will take a deep shotgun formation and then just Hail Mary that should take up enough time to make it the last play of the half [Applause] looks like good protection can't really get enough on it even if they caught it wasn't gonna mean up and they let the clock run out and that'll do it for the first half and that's the end of the half 26 to 13.
beautiful play color [Applause] everything about that place I remember we ran that play my I want to say senior year yeah in the playoffs and Colton bird picked up about I'd say 50 to 60 yards on that play but we did not score on it you have everyone going down all the ride receivers going downfield and you play action with that running back and the quarterback acts like he's gonna roll out the running back just runs 10 yards and turns right around and you just lost it right over the d-line gonna be draw right up the middle I believe that's Yannick on the tackle saying his name a bunch here in this first half gain of two second down and eight good job making first Contact and wrapping up 32 getting the ball carrier Taylor was doing a good job with this clock too under 7 30.

clockers [Music] good luck on tonight's game [Music] thank you foreign all right ladies and gentlemen welcome back for second half action here a little lightning in the far distance not sure how long we'll be playing but uh for now at the after one half of play 26-13 you're actually in clockers leading the Dover Ray Dover Sherman Raiders [Music] Ashland took the opening kick I'm at prodigal March down the field punctuated by a 19-yard run by Jason Crispin Dover Sherman turned it over on Downs minus three yards and on the first play from scrimmage it was cam antonok from the gun formation taking its 64 yards for the touchdown another failed offensive uh possession by Dover Sherburne and Ashley and March right down again went up 19 nothing when uh daughter Sherman kind of kind of found their Rhythm on offense passing three plays 180 yards capped out by a 50-yard reception Garrett Garrett to Olson Garrett Webb to Olson Ashland is able to convert a few third Downs on their next possession and 26 came in tonight punched it in actually that was quantum Emerald Anthony scored the third touchdown is Dover Sherburne feels that one deep gets back to the 21-yard line and then with the uh [Applause] and a quick update from my uh team downstairs in the booth Chris kiesling is the person wearing number two we had him as number 22 he's one of the senior captains for Dover Sherburne so I apologies to Chris kiesling and the kiesling family not being uh this is the roster we were given so we just work with what we have Garrett Webb looking to is Target Olson it's a eight yards catches it on the turf way to number 24 Brian Olson down at the 24 yard and Olson was on the receiving end of the second touchdown so uh the thing Dover Sherman took possession with 202 left in the half and it took him about 40 seconds to go down and uh score so they definitely found their Rhythm on offense Ashley is going to have to make some adjustments hopefully they did at the half to I'm going to keep this offense off the field Webb fakes the pitch plenty of time back there throws underneath to number 10 that's Ronan Sullivan coming out of the backfield he catches it for five yards and a first down I'm Rob silver here on waca TV foreign [Music] Brady monticino the unknown cameraman who will get for the end of the day Webb throwing up the middle a little bit behind the receiver still should have been caught that was intended for number 19 Robert saber [Applause] all right [Music] this time they run it [Applause] Zack Jaffe he's got a nice carry earlier in the game second quarter for 15-17 yards he breaks that one we're about 28 yards so working for them in the air and on the ground see what adjustments the Ashland can make here on the Fly [Music] [Applause] receivers for over Sherburne down the bottom here is Olson and kiesling to his inside webbed with a snap he looks up the middle that one sails over the intended receiver Ronan Richard but he definitely had uh had some opening Richards and he caught that he was gone 9 44 to go here in the second half Webb with olaire hands it to a lair first Contact made by Quantum Emerald but couldn't wrap them up and O'Leary gets another five five yards after that over Sherburne player down on the field man it's another cramp thank you so we're gonna we're gonna uh maybe continue streaming but uh we're gonna head down a lot of lightning in the background so to be safe I'm going to go into cover for a moment athletic director Kevin Anderson walking the track his first big decision [Music] okay for one more down Webb keeps it pushes ahead it's enough for the first down and it's going to be First and Ten from the 31-yard line and we'll be back all right guys [Applause] [Music] [Applause] okay number nine [Applause] minutes good evening folks uh just making an announcement we're gonna shut down for tonight we have some lightning storms coming and we're up here on the Press Box metal roof metal cameras today is a good day yo what's up guys class of 2024 check-in what I'm looking for the best class they're gonna miss us the most what I'm looking forward to seeing you here kicking everyone's born in football kicking everyone's putting soccer living my dream being at the school Ashton's the best that's right go clockers go clockers [Music]
they're not snapping before they're not snapping before 10 seconds anytime they're running that clock off as much as they can and coming out of the Huddle each time how are I this time play action quarterback's gonna boot leg to the right side he's getting faced down nearly gets sacked he's got somebody in the end zone he's looking for number three and did he get his feet and Bounds is the only question he did [Applause] great play 26 yards there's a flag on the field [Applause] holding on the offense I didn't see the hold at all I was watching the quarterback scramble biltman was about a yard off he was he was he was there but it was a great ball there yeah by that quarterback putting it at the back of the end zone to where only that receiver could get it hold back [Music] [Applause] the holding penalty is going to be a spot foul loss of 10.
gonna be a second down now and 18. once again making sure now the clock's gonna stop though because of that [Applause] right when I make a clock Taylorville they're bringing three guys on three guys off seems like every other play they've got plenty of guys over on their sideline plenty of coaches too I think we founded were over 16 coaches something like that fans get in there a little bit drip to the right side empty backfield double to left quarterback's Gonna Roll to the left he's got Yannick in front of him good job good tackle there by cam janick gain of six it was Cam and nobody else good job everybody that's still almost too many yards you're giving up there I know it's second in a country mile but now you give them a third and twelve to where they're in four down territory I think we gotta at least get in the backfield a little quicker there but see what we can do here on Third and well with 6 20 left here in this first half the fans got into it on second down sounds like they're going to get into it again Taylorville under 10 seconds they're gonna be having to rush this one a little bit and we're gonna have to burn their final time out [Applause] see what the fans do they make it a little rowdy I know so third and 12 from the 30-yard line 607 remaining on the scoreboard that's a that's a question I'll ask Alex where's whenever you were in high school playing football where was the one place that you the fans were just too loud to where you're like you have you have to block them out to where as a quarterback too for you I mean if it gets loud and hectic and you gotta listen to play calls from the sideline and um just get guys in the right position because you're you're the man on the field so uh what what place do you think would be the loudest or the most chaotic that you've been a part of I would I would just have to say Waterloo probably yeah um they were I mean obviously obvious reasons there but uh Freeburg and Central if they got into it they would get into it here and there but when they did it it got loud for that one play foreign nine nine nine nine would probably be my junior year at Morton was that your that was that was the first game right yeah first game of the year yeah about two and a half three hour drive yeah that football's different up there yeah it was it was awesome awesome atmosphere third and twelve for the tornadoes drips to the right side motion rooms number 22 he's gonna make quads quarterback's Gonna Roll out over there he's got everybody standing at the sticks he's gonna tuck it and run hurdles over nearly a Defender but he is brought down quarterback's gonna look it's going to be another screenplay and it's going to be sniffed out by the Eagles one must tackle two missed tackled fumble on the plane I think the Eagles recovered it yep no or was he down number 20 who got that screen fast kind of landed on his head there back judges motioning that he's down and if he's down it's going to be close to a first down if not Eagles will have the ball [Applause] first down [Applause] so now if you're the Eagles coaching staff your defensive lineman now on four different times they've run the screen have bit hard on it and it's working out great for Taylorville so at what point do you go to your defense alignment and say hey if it's too easy for you to get through the line scrimmage stop the end that quarterback has done a good job of letting those linemen get to him about six seven yards behind the line of scrimmage and then just lightly throwing the ball right over the top of them so um we have something something gonna have to change in this screen game on defense one doubles fake it to number 20 who's the motion man quarterback right up the middle gain of eight brings up a second and two now they're gonna give them nine brings up a second and one from the nine yard line he's not getting touched till he's no eight nine yards down field nine yard line he had a wide open hole right down the middle of the field need some binoculars looks like furlough is going to be a tackle like flag thrown on the play false start five-yard penalty now hopefully that kills the drive 405 remaining before halftime if you can watch their splits whenever he goes under Center every alignment is on your jam packed and they're touching feet so that's gonna be a loss of five it's gonna be first and goal from the nine Eagles got their hands on their hips you'd make a stop Taylorville I feel like has had the ball the majority of this still pretty tight splits for the lineman doubles gonna be one motion man is number one they're gonna hand it off to him he's gonna try to get to the outside good job forcing it in two guys trying to make the tackle Here Comes two more gonna be a gain of two gonna be Denny and Jackson and Brody Furla like I said earlier with this clock management now we're under 330 here at ticking down to 315.
and I remember uh I think I said something about they had the ball at seven minutes still so half the field in four minutes they've been working with second and eight here ball on the left hash trips into the boundary to the left side quarterback's gonna get right behind his lead blocker number two is the running back he's gonna get five maybe six gonna be a third and goal from the two lead blocker there was number two the running back and good patience they're out of the quarterback to let something happen need the fans to be in it again yeah this is where you need another false start penalty here are you gonna do like a chop right here or a knife or anything out of your defense alignment try to try to force something to get screwed up up the middle our formation gonna be running back right up the middle number 32 gets into the end zone Thomas gettings .
coach stump said he does come in on [Applause] short yardage plays and he gets the football and that takes the score now Taylorville 13 Columbia 0-209 or 219 rather on the game clock at the one yard line maybe the two two yard line I don't know that the penalty kick we'll call it the one and a half yeah I think that's the three that the white the white ones of them field goal unit goes off starting offense comes on 13 seconds on the play clock I'm going to say they're going to go up the middle or up the middle number 32 he's still standing behind his quarterback he's going to fake it through him quarterback's going to keep it himself and he's going to get in two-point conversion is good quarterback just kept it himself fake that they were going up the middle so that takes Taylorville 15.
Columbia 0-219 remaining before that life Community halftime show we're going to run to a break and we'll be back with the rest of the first half right after this thank you [Music] foreign welcome back to the kchs broadcast the Columbia Eagles football where the Eagles are trailing 15-nothing Taylorville just did their fake onside kick now they get everyone lined up the way they want them and they send it deep it's going to be returnable at the 18-yard line just try to make something happen now for the Eagles they're going to get pretty good field position getting up to the 36-yard line so there's going to be 64 yards in front of the Eagles 213 trying to get into the end zone if you get in the end zone here you also get the football after halftime see if we can get something going on this offensive side of the ball tonight we really haven't got anything going the same as last week so see if we can get just one big play that's what I've been saying all year we've seen one or two big plays to get everybody on the sideline uh ready to go all right Eagles get everybody lined up try to end right sniffer back right pistol back four vaguely they're gonna fake it to him Vega's gonna have to run he's got a guy in the backfield right away he's gonna get make a couple guys miss before going out of bounds gain of two clock stops second down and eight now and once again as soon as the play action happened he was scrambling [Applause] it did go out of bounds there so I think that stops the clock doubles this time for the Eagles three down lineman for Taylorville still showing that cover two look with the two safeties in the back but their Corners are even playing 15 yards off gonna be a pass this time vagley's gonna throw it it's going to be caught by Dalton rainwater he's good for 20 yards 15 yards they'll call it and it's a first down for the Eagles good job juggling and making the catch sometimes when you juggle that we got a safety coming down trying to take your head off so great job by rainwater to kind of avoid that safety pull that ball in great ball by vaguely as well on a slant route there's a little momentum that you need 145 now left in this first half see if we can punch one in here still got two timeouts ball shaded to the left side trips to the right side gonna be a rollout this time for vaguely he's looking not a man and that's a good catch there by number four for the Eagles [Applause] coach owner trying to move the guys around [Music] [Applause] gonna be ball in the right hash trips to the left side two Defenders over to that left side as well looks like they're gonna Blitz and they do vigley's gonna have to set up he's gonna scramble and he just Chucks it Tech de Leon oh Jack almost had the catch that was I was watching to make sure they didn't call anything [Applause] intentional grounding good job by vaguely there not panicking and got rid of it and it's still third and one it seems like the second or third time though he's rolled out to that side and he's got to roll to the other side because there's already a guy in his face yeah who's that lineman out there with that left tackle I can't tell I can't see these numbers tied in right sniffer back right ball in the right hash pistol back is Nelson they're gonna hand it off to him this time he's going to have enough for a first down I believe maybe I don't know I don't think he did and he stays in bounds under one minute now fourth and one you got to go for it if you're coach Warner I think timeout yeah you can't let you want to talk about it but you can't let the clock run out so you got 51 seconds now that's a pretty good time out there by the Eagles coaching staff now you got to make something happen you know they're going to be bringing pressure fourth and one [Music] I'm gonna go hard count first just to see if we can get a cheap one balls on this red hash so I don't know if you coach Corner usually sometimes goat likes going to the boundary and I'm going to this right side and using the left side of the field to stretch some Defenders out is that the thought process there whenever you and then I mean I I feel like you have to have athletes too I mean um using that wide side of the field uh is always nice but if you can put trips to that left side and bring uh backside safety all the way over with a corner and a linebacker out there guarding the other two um I think that opens up a lot running to this side of the boundary if you just have one receiver on this side so um we'll see what he see what he wants to do here though looks like he's gonna have a single receiver on this right side with a sniffer back upright I'm gonna go receiving the left side as well but Beware of the tight end on the right side Alex we might run down right down the middle of the field middle linebacker right now is playing six yards deep we're gonna try to go up the middle we're gonna have to get to the 35.
see what kind of position they're gonna give him first down Eagles clock should stop and it does you got to get set now you're at 44 seconds play call in and this is when you Tempo matters you want to at least get a shot to the end zone here trips to the left side this time ball's still on the right half is ticking 36 seconds now gotta get the snapped [Applause] vaguely doesn't even roll out really on that one he's gonna have to make somebody Miss he does he's gonna try to get out of bounds good job by getting out of bounds there's going to be a gain but a penalty flag on the play but once again I think that was supposed to be a roll to the left and he didn't even attempt to roll [Music] normally where there's a holding or a flock in the back it looks like ref's going to walk backwards here and all that momentum stops right there with like 25 seconds left still need to try to get the ends on though now you got 45 yards in 25 seconds [Applause] if you're coach Horner I think you still got to try to stay aggressive here try to make something happen or see what happens in that second half see what kind of formations you can throw out there it'll be trips left bunch all three of them standing right next to each other three down lineman everyone is playing back for Taylorville we're going to throw it down the middle of the field it's going to go up for grabs it's going to be intercepted now we got to make a tackle and we do at the six yard line so Taylorville is going to take over deep in their own territory 15 seconds to go in this first half we'll see how imagine Taylorville is just going to take a knee they might try to run one I don't know been able to move it all night so we'll see what happens they're all going up the line of scrimmage like it's just going to be an either snap and the knee so we're gonna run to a break first half comes to a conclusion Taylorville leads it 15-0 on Military Appreciation Night we'll run to a break let you see our wonderful sponsors that we have and we'll let Mr Christian Davis Rouse get the Eagles marching band set up for the halftime show we will be back to kchs on the multi-purpose field right after this [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign music by Blondie Carly Rae Jepsen and little nazette the band is under the direction of Mr Christian Davis Rouse a color guard coach Jessica Janet drum Majors Amy valnoski and Noah Parker let's make it away do that [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] laughs [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] service [Music] foreign welcome into the Life Church halftime show up here in the booth right here on kchs Jared not much going for the Eagles at half a lot of the same with what we saw in the stuck back at Midfield with only 20 seconds left so um uh I mean you just gotta find your momentum um like we did at the end of that first half um hopefully we can golf that we've talked aboard about before coach horn and Coach Jermaine do a great job of making adjustments what's an adjustment you think the defensive line or the linebacker is going to have to make so that the quarterback doesn't just continue to run right down the middle I feel like our safeties are going to come up and play I don't think we're going to put anybody uh 15 yards deep I think some of those linebackers are going to have to come up and play maybe stick their hand in the grass in the turf and maybe go four or five down lineman instead of three and having four linebackers might need to put a couple more down on that line to get in that back here a little quicker and you know we talked about Brody furlough a lot last week we talked a lot about cam janick we've said Cam's name a Lot bill Roadie we haven't said too much so I'd like to see Brody step up and we got a couple other guys in there that don't always get a lot of playing time but it's been next man up missing Joe Kish now uh and Logan Hicks I mean those are two kisha's gonna clog up the middle and then Hicks is going to chase everyone down yeah a guy like Maddox Stefan is gonna have to play a lot better at that uh outside linebacker position he's looked pretty good tonight forcing things back inside um and on that other side sophomore Keegan Thompson is also looked pretty solid um I know it's 15 nothing we're down two scores I get the ball coming out so offense is going to have to go down the field and try to punch one in early and I think we got to do something about those uh the screenplays I mean they've run four of them on us and they've probably got 50 yards I would say collectively on all four so see what they're going to do there and offensively trying to roll out to the outside can't get out there because there's guys on her face so lineman gonna have to gonna make an adjustment as well you know I think that's the biggest thing on the offensive side of the ball um we know we can't really run the ball inside that much so we're gonna have to try to get to the outside whenever you have Mason running those rollouts and he already got defensive lineman and uh outside linebacker in his face already and he's got a reverse field and come the other way uh you're already already not looking too good there so um hopefully coach Baker and Coach Warner got that situated in the at the halftime and we can try to go off those rollouts and maybe throw the ball downfield a couple times so the Eagles got about four minutes until all those adjustments gonna need to be made we've got about four minutes at halftime we've talked a lot about the sons of the Legion tonight talking about how they donated the meal and they cooked the meal is pulled chicken great stuff and they have their honor cue coming up and that all it's a whole weekend in that first weekend of November so I think it's the third and the fourth this year if I remember correctly Friday night they got the chicken and beer dance fresh burn the local band is going to be playing there so go on the Facebook page and uh you'll be able to find where you can get tickets and it's always a great event they do a great job with it the food obviously is going to be great so make sure you go check them out for that and then Saturday morning the thing that they take Goliath of pride in is they do a parade down Main Street starts at 10 A.M so it's all the veterans it's what's honoring them I know my neighbor he's 98 years old and he's in the parade every year so if you're able to go out on Saturday morning 10 a.m starts at the Abbey ends up at the legion and then that rolls into the whole weekend and the whole day on Saturday it's a huge barbecue competition professionals come in and it's a pretty cool event if you've never done it they've got a kickball tournament that it gets pretty rough and rowdy it's a good time so make sure you go thank the veterans and go show your face up there I think that's a great event that they have on there and then we have to talk next week songs for soldiers usually we get Dustin around the founder of songs from soldiers on he wasn't able to come in tonight so talk a little bit about that Travis Tritt playing on Friday night and Cheap Trick I didn't know I knew their music up until uh somebody put them on Spotify so cheap trick will be on Saturday so Jared are you going to be able to go to any of the uh are you going to be going on Saturday to the events I don't know if I'll go to that but I'll next week's aren't for soldiers since we're not I don't think we're broadcasting next Friday at Roxanna so I believe I'll probably go be up there Friday night or Saturday night next week for that and that's something I think they've raised over a million dollars I mean it's another great event so make sure you go check them out online as well and uh get your tickets for next week it's a great event with all that being said halftime show it's about done we're going to get things switched around up here we'll bring you the second half where the Eagles are trailing the tornadoes right now 15 nothing we will be back right after this thank you [Music] thank you Jared's three keys and then Aces wild three game show have fun and use the crowd don't be quick last one don't think we had too much fun there in that first half so we're gonna have to have fun in the second half and hopefully this crowd's gonna be able to get into it and try to get these Eagles sitting at 0-2 we're gonna try to get at least one or two avoid going on three for the first time since 2001.
and try to get get a little momentum get a little fun here in Columbia both teams coming out right away they were ready to go once that uh I don't even know if the horn sounded I didn't hear it let us know where you're listening from we haven't haven't had too many of those yet so make sure you comment on the stream comment on Facebook text us all right private message I don't know Twitter I just know where you're listening from half is underway as the kick goes on the ground up the middle it's going to be recovered I believe that is Nelson he gets to the outside we said we wanted to see him run and there's a penalty flag throwing at the 40-yard line great return though he was able to pick it up and get to the 45 but it's going to be a hold [Applause] so it's going to be a 10-yard penalty good job though by Jace we we've always said we want to see him get in the open field and see what he can do and he was able to do that so a little a little glimmer of hope there for this second half Ian has a sophomore not not playing a lot of varsity football um and having probably the most speed on this team I'd say we look forward to him moving forward in the next year in a senior year so a lot of big things hopefully to come for Jace Eagles are going to start second half at their own 34-yard line tight end right sniffer back right pistol back they're going to hand it off to him and he gets hit immediately two Taylorville tornadoes in the backfield nothing going loss of four there's Janik On The Run he's a little banked up and that's something that you've kind of been nailing the head on all all year some of these offensive linemen haven't really played any Varsity ball so um still kind of learning but I feel like by week three they've grown up already so gonna be Nelson this time another penalty flag throwing he's going to get past the original line of scrimmage thrown in the area of holding though on the offense and it's going to be a personal foul Chop block on the Eagles we've had a bunch of those this year yeah so that's going to be a that'd be another 10-yard penalty from the spot it's the only way we can get positive yardage Alex what's that if we try to chop block and get away with it yeah we haven't got away with it though I know that's the problem ribbling's coming on so now from First and Ten second down I gotta do some math here about 30 almost 26.
[Music] second and 26. [Music] Eagles going the wrong way trips to the right side running back right ball in the middle of the field single receiver out to the left they're gonna throw a little bubble route to Jace he's gonna have to run he's got the 20 25 30. that's one man miss he's at the 40 first down gets to the 50-yard line before getting knocked out of bounds first down Eagles we tried running that play three or four times last week and it looked like those corners and not so linebackers were tornado almost making that tackle right out of the line of scrimmage and we were almost getting negative yardage there but great job by Nelson getting outside great stock block out here but I believe it was Sam Denny and just got up field and now we got the momentum on our side a little bit need to keep it rolling tight end right sniffer back right running back to the left of vaguely hard got him they got him the jump Mason's letting him know first and five now for the Eagles after the offside there you go here's your momentum now we don't need a dumb penalty to stop the momentum keep them moving Eagles first and five 10 57 in the third quarter ball on the Taylorville 44-yard line Looks like Nelson checks out cam Janet checks back in same formation they're gonna hand it off too Yannick they're going to throw another penalty flag ball is going to be down at the 40 but I think we're gonna have a legal procedure on the Eagles loss of five brings up first down and 10 again would have been a gain of about four four yeah now they're going false start oh boy so now we're back to First and Ten got to keep the momentum you watch a lot of the body language of the guys and got a little down right there so you need somebody to keep everyone up [Applause] tight end right sniffer back right pistol back gonna be a handoff to Yannick it's going to be a counter he's going to get two second down and eight ball at the 47-yard line there's really nothing going there they get the ball now he's starting eight yards deep too so he's gonna have to run eight yards in order to get to the line of scrimmage so that's a 10-yard run there out of your running back but he's only gaining two yards looks like we're gonna have double to the left here sniffer back right single receiver out to the right running back right behind Mason Begley gonna be a bootleg to the right side egley's gonna have to scramble he does gonna just go out of bounds loses three yards on the play as he runs out of Bounds at the 50-yard line brings up a third and 11.
