Kaminsky and mr. mark Bommarito for the informational presentations for putting together the reports for our meetings and for answering all of our questions thank you very much thank you very much all right and that was just an information item as well unless anybody has questions for facility call okay we are moving on to item ten point three we have the capital facilities program update there's a PowerPoint bring it up please so each year we try to bring updates to you throughout the year particularly in spring as we approach the summer work thank you at the end of the summer or early fall as we recap what's been accomplished during the summer and then what is going on during the winter the first couple years of the bond project most of the work happened in summer and that where there were things like underground utilities roofing projects that really cannot be done when students are are here in our classes as we've completed those projects and move forward we're beginning we're getting closer and closer to the stage where we actually start working on classrooms and that is something that we can do during the school year as well as some fencing that we can do and some outdoor projects so we're going to talk a little bit about what what things we've been working on what's in progress and where we see possibilities for the future so if we can go to the next slide and I guess I can do that these are projects and estimated costs these are in progress so it was mentioned just a little while ago that we're getting closer and closer to actually getting the marquees updated for the two glass and analysis of high school Dianna Rojas is still here she probably remembers the roofing project and air conditioning and fire alarm and that's an example of the fire alarm was something that typically we would have done a later in the cycle but when we take these projects want to prepare them where you are required to get state approval and the state in their wisdom and that project decided they wanted us to do fire alarms early on so we had to modify the project a little bit which um sometimes changes the cost as it did in this one we worked on Slauson kitchen you Rebecca Hall if you've been here for a while a couple summers ago we redid much of the kitchen we had planned three phases and we've completed two of them first and second this summer or rather the stamp this summer Antonia will be very busy there will be underground utilities going on at his school that's a major project with trenching large trenches and then smaller ones in between classrooms and dirt everywhere dirt piled up every place we're also planning on starting pretty soon some additional fencing field fencing is what we call it it's the the back part of the field and our dalton Magnolia and Slauson and we've been designing and are getting closer to updating the section of the fields over Susan high school and Gladstone this will this will give them a artificial turf field that can be used either as football or soccer as well as a track around it and the track is a little bit wider than what they've had I think it's an eight-lane track rather than a six-lane track so that'll give them some more options before they have competitions if there are other projects looking at fire alarms at a number of sites and looking at the lis portables to upgrade those as we move forward i'm saucin the element of the classroom modernization plan has been in design as well as I'm improving the technology there the lis underground replacement that some of these are still a ways off they're not yet quite ready and then eventually the Center modernization and you can say I'm sorry but at the bottom of that that slide there is a subtotal right now for projects that are into the design phase we're designing them or they're bidding or they are already in construction that's the forty five million dollars and as you recall that bond was a ninety two million dollar bond so that's about half of the work right there off of the bond the next slide shows some projects that we anticipate we'll be able to work on in the future and so looking at Downton clashing organization the lead cross modernization paramount and then upgrading middle schools in terms of their data capabilities the fans that we are using are come from two sources the first one is what's called geo bond that means general obligation bond that's the measure cable that was passed by the voters for 92 million and the state in passed a statewide initiative to match funding now they don't pay it's not a dollar two dollar match it's about it about a 25% match so that we have been actually working on completing all the the documentation that we need to be eligible to receive funds so we expect they will receive up to twenty four million which will extend what we can do so right now we've spent about 32 million on projects that are complete another 45 all the ones that are in progress on stage of the progress we've got another nineteen point six projects and then right now for right now a total of 97 and you might say well how are we gonna do that out of that 92 million well five million of it would come out of that 24 million that we expect us to get from the state so we're very grateful that the voters of the state passed that some other projects that have come up under discussion that we have not yet decided exactly which ones we're going to do and in which which order we're gonna do them one possibility is Adult Ed with their move expanding the parking lot for them looking at the two high schools to reconstruct their pools looking at the two high school gyms for modernizing them we have the old schoolhouse at Lawson middle school and the fencing projects have actually been doing in phases so the first phase as I was just talking a little bit about it is what's called field fencing that's the perimeter along the backside of the school the sides in the back the second phase is the front side of the school that's the steel more decorative fencing the third phase was having some more schools for the field fencing in the face is going into schools particularly some of the large amount of high schools and doing about the interior fencing and getting that up to speed to a couple other needs that people have forgot to identify is looking at the locker rooms it's Lawson and Center in particular looking at film rooms at the two high schools the auto mechanic rooms and trying to use the construction plans that we have to really to be to come home with the instructional programs that we want to put a place for our students and then the decent work to continue to work to improve the drainage in Azusa high school so thinking about timeline so the plan right now is just to start fencing sometime later this spring and that's that this is probably a longer project that will go on into the fall I won't be completed completely in summertime and the next slide just shows a picture of a current fence as well as a rendition of what the fence would look like and let's see is Laura still here no Clark no ok so this is Dalton elementary school and you can see our older fences are quite dilapidated but we were putting in better quality better grade fences with security features they're higher and the openings are much smaller they're half the size that makes them they're more difficult to climb they're more difficult to cut through and so they write a greater level of protection next is a sample of the decorative fencing that comes typically in the front of the school and then some projects we hope to get started this summer one is the underground utilities at Paramount and then they're working on the two marquees now you'll see that a shifts down at the bottom down page all of these projects are always dependent on what happens in DSA which is division of state architect we are architects design the projects we are required to submit them to the division of state architect for approval and that typically takes quite a few months in six months is pretty average so sometimes the people get a little frustrated why is the project started when we thought it was it's because it's still in DSA we're waiting for the final approval if they're looking at it and saying gee you know I think you need some other changes or you want you to go back and redesign this those are all things that we need to do another project this is an example of the underground utilities that this happens to be Center but a paramount will look somewhat similar and this is drawing a rendition of the two marques the is a high school marquee will be near the front entrance of the school on Cerritos the gladstone one will be on the corner of Enid and arrow the is that the lettering that's just about that that's a good question that's just a sample actually these are digital boards you can actually have photographs of students or staff members they're very the eye changes all the time you can have it rotating through something yeah think of some of those things you see on the freeway those changing yeah that's what it's like yeah the high one is it gonna be right directly where it is behind that bowl necessarily no and one nice thing is actually they will be on you say one side of it there'll be on both sides so the people for example Gladstone people will be able to read it whether they're coming from the east or the west they'll there'll be a it'll be two sided so that's nice they're projects that will start a little bit later info to winter are looking at the parking lot for adult education that's a sample there if I was spraying so these are projects that would take a little bit longer the track let's get started and track it'll take most of the year and I have to think sandy carrying was here a little while ago thank her and also I'm Chuck Shore because there was a lot of work there was TT athletic directors at the school's working with the coaches for the different sports to determine what should be done and and making the necessary adjustments in terms of the classes and what part of the field they would use and they all actually to a person agreed yes please do it during a school you don't wait for another summer try and get it going with me they said you know they'll adjust so they're very excited about it and here's an example of what as a high school field looks like right now and see if I don't hear is the football field this is Cerritos and this is baseline right here this football field is going to be slid a little bit over a little bit closer for two reasons one it's closer access for a DA access but also then the shop that goes over here so you know if by any chance shot put ball goes off the wrong way it's just going to go too you know won't go here we're people I'll go through the fence so based on we'll still be right here and then this will slide over a little bit and a Gladstone their their location is right here they didn't really need to move it there just slide it down just a little bit to make sure that we leave space for future bleachers for portable bleachers that most schools what they're doing that [Music] Slauson modernization we are we were planning to start it in summer we don't know for sure it has not come back out of DSA so this may not quite started beginning a summer like we were hoping we'll be watching to see what TSA says and if they require us to do any extra work or or gonna rethink what we're doing will adjust to that and so just to clarify for all these where we see this asterisk and it says depending upon DSA we have already submitted everything that we can do on our end and it is in these instances the ball is completely in their court and we're waiting here back that's correct now some of them have not yet been submitted because of timing but they all have to be you know and we have to wait for a DA's approval before we can move forward and this is an example of how you can do a school modernization during the school year what the colors show is a phasing what could be phase 1 2 3 so for example in this in this particular plan this kind of from tan color right here that in our initial plan is phase one which is summertime so it's summertime you can do the front entrance to the school you could redo this faculty parking a lot on the side you could do the basically the quad area they have some restroom upgrade this won't happen if this is the old schoolhouse and that's to be determined what happens there but this is the entrance to from the south side of the school and two classrooms that are there themselves now if DSA approval comes a little bit late we won't be able to do all of this and summer time so they would end up doing make a decision about what's essential to do this summer and what can wait till another summer so these is this initial idea but it's flexible depending on how the timing is once we finish this some production of this week then when the school starts start with these pink buildings these classrooms here would be phase one and what happens during phase one is that whoever's in these classrooms have to move out of their classrooms into some empty classrooms so each school that's going to go on their modernization has to identify where some classes so this this happens to be one here another one there and I believe they have five they say if five rooms are gonna get modernized at a time and then five places where people can rotate through after those rooms are done they come back and another five another color goes and that's how you rotate through so when you're under modernization you always have to keep some rooms empty to Lao teachers to have a place to move while their rooms are being renovated and that's how they do it during the school year otherwise you would be taking all too little multiple summers to do that so it's a very speed you know so any questions about those one of the things that that mark mentioned to you early and I just wanted to share this and just to reinforce it is that the world's my construction change from time to time and continue to change and as you know if you Navy but if anybody has lived in a house for a long time and you want to remodel it the rules for remodeling and the roots for rules for getting your house is what's called up to code have changed over the years the same thing for us in education too and so sometimes when we go to GSA they will say you know what we know you said you're going to do this part here but we also want you to do something else that was some code that got changed over the years and those are things that we have to adjust to and that will impact the timing of what we're able to do any questions in terms of starting the summer when when do we anticipate that construction will start well right now we anticipate that the underground utilities will start hopefully the day after school gets out that is what we try to do the fencing I'm not sure on the exact start time of that mark do you are you feeling aware that I don't have it okay but it would be around kind of the same time the fencing fencing can be done during the screen but it's much more efficient easier to do it during summertime so awesome though has not come out of TSA yet so we're not we have to wait and see when that when that will start okay so for the board I'm Adrian you and Gabi you're new generally we have a board meeting like a study session tour of the facilities during the summer so I just wanted to get a sense from the board tonight so we could start planning out from the summer when that would be the best time for us to have that meeting so I know last year we had it in early August had it before in July you know when Gabby comes actually can weigh in too but in terms of like you guys have schedule constraints I have some in August so July with end of July and July would be better for both of you so many things I believe he said inquiry about July 30th that's a Tuesday though the last Tuesday in July that works okay maybe well we can do calendar I just wanted to get a sense for people so late leaders late July later July is better ok so there's three of us that later July is better so we can ask Abby to distance just to make sure I'm Jerry and then and that would be that would be a morning meeting say nine to 11:30 I was to avoid some of the heat because we you will wear closed-toe shoes you'll be wearing you know jeans and you know hat foot to protect yourself on the Sun and be ready to climb over mounds of dirt and walk on boards that are stretched out over trenches things like that all right so and then and then Linda just in the past that it really had been focused just on the tour but I but I know because we have we really haven't had a chance to sit down with with our two new board members and just comprehensively go over where this whole projects been um so I would like us to have a more extensive meeting that day to be able to do that at that point I think looking at our our schedule the next month and a half I'd rather not do it during this whole budget time and then just so you know we're talking about maybe doing it next you would hold off and do that in July well no I think we need to have some kind of discussion study session but I think the comprehensive overview okay works better there thank you okay all right um so we'll move on unless are there any other questions no okay so we'll move on to the El Cap proposed modifications to El Camino board president board members superintendent cabinet community we are here today to present to you a proposed draft budget of our actions and services for our El Cap but before we get into that want to do a quick little unveil of a product that we have been working on you all received a little packet like so we do have one that the audience if somebody wants to see it but I just want to walk you through what this is and this will lead lead us into this into tonight's presentation so we are looking at our updates that we do to the community we're looking at the documents that we provide for our community and we are always pushing ourselves to say how could it be better how could be more transparent how could it make more sense and so this is something that we have been working on so he's gonna want to walk you through this our al cap is it constructed via five goals and so what we did is we created one sheet per goal that gives you a snapshot of that al cap goal so at the very top is the most important thing which is the actual goal so here and go one the goal is increase to an achievement that this is what we're after right this whole section of the out cap this El Cap one this is the whole purpose of this section of the out cap and look in the goal one right and so below it right front and center are the data points or the metrics on how we are going to measure our success towards this goal so if we're saying that student achievement increased student achievement these items below in the metric section this is what we are gauging to ensure that we are striving for or moving towards this goal now I will tell you that in regards to the metrics there are some metrics that are required by the state of California and some of these metrics funnel directly into our California dashboard and so I just want to note that so what we are after what is the big goal how we are measuring that and then below are the actions and services the things that we do to affect these metrics to reach the goal yeah so just kind of a quick dirty one-page outline a snapshot of each of our goals and so we're thinking of incorporating this into our update section that's why you have the different colors this is the way our updates right now are currently organized in our updates so it's easy to to move through and so that's why these aren't color coordinated to match our updates so we're looking to incorporate these into that or some other fashion but you just wanted to kind of preview this so today we're gonna be walking you through a spreadsheet that talks about these actions and services below so today you're not gonna be seeing quote-unquote the AL cap okay so today it's about these actions and services the things that we are doing to affect the metrics to ultimately affect the goal and so I just want to give some some big ideas on this spreadsheet so that we could navigate to that we do staff we do have staff here ready and available if you have particular questions on particular items but I just kind of want to give you a tour of what this is and how we got here so this is another piece of information that we are very proud of here in Azusa where we try to make our Al Capp transparent you can find all of this in our Al Capp our 200 page document but to navigate that is a little difficult and so we have created a spreadsheet to kind of make it easy to navigate so a couple of big big items a big big things in this in this document number one you will notice that there is a big item in goal number two seven point two to be exact where we are proposing that the Dual Immersion program now gets funded through the out cap so in item seven point two you will see a big green item there right 1.7 million dollars six hundred nine thousand dollars so that wanted to point to you that this is this is a big pushin you will also notice as you go through the document there are other areas that are green which with signify increases in that area so on the front page right right away right in the front page under 4.1 you'll notice that there are two green boxes two items that have increased most of the other green items are because of the adjustments to staff so staff get step and column and so as we are looking at their step and column as we're looking at getting the most accurate numbers at this point in time these green sections right here aren't because this is an accurate representation of the staff moving forward to 1920 so number one there are there are some greens one of them is because we're moving the Dual Immersion program we're proposing to move the Dual Immersion program into the out cap and number 2 staffing that represent what that staff will will will be in the year 1920 okay I thought you said 7.2 I don't see a 7.0 that is page one two three four five page five yeah okay all right so big idea number one there are some greens because of the greens there are some Reds and so Reds signify a decrease in those particular sections I do want to talk about the Reds and how those came about we did meet with all of our Al Capp leads a one on one in meetings to discuss their al cap to discuss their areas to discuss their actions and services and to ensure that they were recommending decreases in the budget that would still allow them to do the things that they needed to do and so when we see Reds they those Reds are not arbitrary cuts we did meet with staff again one on one and met with them one I want to discuss their their areas and their actions and services and to get recommendations from them so that's item number two right we have increases and we have decreases item number three you will see some areas in this al cap that are highlighted orange these orange sections I do want to walk through them because these these are our differences and so I just want to point them out to you so on page one you will notice that five point one is orange and that has been taken all the way down to zero this is a leftover from our mariachi program as you may know this year one of our teachers from Foothill Middle School took over the program we added him to the program and because of that addition this line item this five point one is no longer is no longer needed and so we are suggesting to just delete this five point one and because we do have staff now in the Mariachi then the four point one covers any particular needs that we might have with the Mariachi program if we skip two pages and we move to 12.1 to our new board members your first day you have to approve a recommendation for history social studies and so 12.1 signals that we are adopting history social studies next year and so this signals an increase of one teacher on special assignment to support the implementation of our brand-new history social science curriculum training professional development professional learning for next year if we just flip one page I'm going to movie to 16.1 you will notice our two oranges there the first orange is a 3/3 our instructional aides that used to say 4:3 our instructional aides it's important to note that this is not a decrease in staffing this is just a decrease of one paid out of the out cap the fourth instructional aide is would be funded out of special ed funds you will also notice that there is one FTE Tosa that one FTE Tosa that used to say 1.5 FTE toeses for a quick second there it seemed as we were going to be able to work with the selpa to hire at OSA that we would share half in half but that never matriculated and so that is just that that's just a fall off of that of that so we never had that point five it was something that we thought we were going to be able to do again it never came to fruition and so now that's just the one FTE total that we currently have so again that is not a decrease in staff okay that is correct that is correct that is correct that we are not sharing with cellphone if we turn the page one more time I want to point your attention to one point two you will notice that 5 ft e TK teachers is orange that used to say 6 ft e TK teachers but because we don't have a class on street or a mountain view next year that's why that decrease is there we go down the same page on five point to where it says eight resource teachers again this is because we don't have a class on Street at a mountain view next school year and that's why that new number is there we turn the page one more time even though we already talked about this this is orange because this is an insertion here of nineteen Dual Immersion FTE teachers you will notice that the preschool Dual Immersion teacher is is orange as is the to preschool Dual Immersion instructional aides the reason those are oranges because those are increases as well right now we are working to open a preschool Dual Immersion and a TK Dual Immersion at Valley do and so that's why that is orange because those would be funded from here as well as they were in the past these two positions were funded in the past out of the outcome if we flip to pages I want to bring your attention to eleven point three in eleven point three you see a little line that says three assistant principals this is orange because they see this used to be two assistant principals and so this recommendation is to increase that by by one to be funded out of the out cap now that would be the addition would be for Sierra high school we turn the page one more time 27.4 you'll see that it says fun 21 percent of total cost of community liaisons this is not a change in funding or a change in what we plan to do just the way we had it worded in the past was confusing and so we just we just changed the wording so that it's it's more straightforward and transparent 21 percent of the total cost of community liaisons will be picked up out of the out cap so is that 21 percent of school site or is it still based on the need right because you put some in before that where there were none before right so then still the same way or is this 21 percent per school site 21 percent of the total cost yeah so that was number three so number one was the insertions which were the green's staff and dual immersion if I can just summarize really quick number two were the Reds again we met with each I'll cap lead to discuss reductions number three were the oranges the the the the the new things are the different things in the out cap and then number four I want to wrap up with the pack Plus which is was part of my comments this morning I'm sorry since morning earlier today so I want to I want to point to two specific areas in the out cap that the pack plus as we went through this we did spend gosh four or five hours on this you know just going just answering every question just try to be as detailed as possible and there are two recommendations that they made and those are reflected here and so I want to point those out so that so you know what they are on the first one is on ISM is right on page one and that is item three point one in item 3.1 you will notice that there is a decrease of $10,000 originally that decrease was $25,000 when they looked at this they said wow look at the number right below that the number right below the 40,000 that's 40,000 as well and so as they as they talked about that visual and performing arts they they felt that there needed to be equity there that the visual arts you need to have equity with the performing arts and so the recommendation was to make sure that those two budgets were we're equal and so that's why you have 40,000 and 3.1 and 40,000 and 4.1 which is right below so that was recommendation number one recommendation number two I'm going to take you way back on the in the sheet and we are going to go all the way to the second to the last page eleven point four in eleven point four you have something called tkk one hour gap originally this was completely cut so this was a sixty three thousand dollar cut they had really good discussion just really speaking about the fact that they are representatives of the school sites representatives of Els representatives as a foster and that even though they personally might not have a TK or a kindergarten student that they had to push themselves to really think about the fact that they're representing all parents and so at the end there was consensus that this had to be this had to come back you will notice that though right now there's a 13 and 13,000 dollar cut again this is because next year we will not have a class on street and we will not have a mountain view and so those are two schools that no longer need to be serviced and so therefore we don't need that that amount because they had two recommendations that increase the budget then the conversation had to be well then we just we just increase the budget by you know sixty thousand dollars where do we take that sixty thousand dollars from again lots of options came out during the the the course of the day well let's take sixty thousand from here or let's say 60 thousand Premier what if we take thirty from here thirty from here at the end of the day a very creative good solution that everybody applauded and liked was thrown out and said if we take sixty thousand dollars or whatever that that total is it's around sixty thousand dollars what if we just take a percent of every line item and reduce it by that that way a it's equitable you're not saying sixty thousand from this line or thirty thousand thirty thousand from here number one it's equitable because it's on a percentage basis so that is what we did the percentage ended up being something like point one eight so less than one percent it was a just a micro it wasn't it was nothing major and then what happens when it's connected to a salary though because that I wasn't disappear that's correct that wasn't touched so anything that could not be decreased was not decreased so anything that was a salary or a contract something like that that was not touched but even after all of that it was one about one tenth of a percent that that every other line item saw somewhere around there so those are the four talking points for today that we wanted to share with you and we wanted to be available if there were questions comments suggestions high-fives anything like that again we have staff ready to to answer if you have any questions any questions I'll just state my concern in that is I'm I'm not I'm not sure that I'm comfortable putting all of the di teachers in into the Supplemental concentration so I mean I think but we still have to wait for them maybe you guys to come out this and looking at the state budget but I really think that we need to think thoughtfully about what that means in the message that's sending to to those classrooms so I just I just want to put that out there right now so there's not surprises later on coming down the road any other questions no okay well I mean I appreciate the process I appreciate the fact that our pack plus committee members dedicated a lot of a large amount of time right and we really am I know that they invested their time and we at and I really appreciate that and I think Adrienne you're you're you're an alumni Gabby you're an alumni too right so I think it just speaks volumes to the engagement that we that we have in our district so thank you art doodle and Jennifer and all the other stuff that work on this all right you say one more thing because I fail to do that I wanted to publicly thank Jennifer especially lika and Sam for with this iteration this final iteration that we've been working on so thank you thank you our dude oh and your staff and also the parents and staff teachers and that are all involved in making this happen thank you we're all your work all right so moving on we'll move on to the consent calendar it's anybody wish to pull anything off the consent I know would go faster anybody want to put it pull anything off the consent no is our motion make a motion to approve okay please there's motion but I'll and a second by Gabriella please place your votes motion passes five zero four zero okay and well we can I'd like to congratulate Kent stout who will be the assistant principal at CI high school next year education we're looking forward to all fourteen point one second motion by Yolanda Rodriguez pina second buy a drink we or any discussion I just want to congratulate all the classified employees that took the time to take this class to get this incentive to better their skills in their work place thank you alright please place your votes motion passes 4-0 moving on we have item fifteen point one oh yeah a B 288 college and career path access pathways agreement with citrus Community College this is an information item is it was it supposed to be action the item is requires two presentations to the board the first one is as an information item and then we'll bring it back as an action item okay any questions about this item all right moving on we have item 15 points you ratify improve adult education affiliation agreement with express pharmacy is their motion okay motion by it give it a are they on a second by Adrienne career any discussion seeing them please place your votes question passes for zero moving on to item 16.1 first reading of new and revised board policies and administrative regulations related to personnel AR 4217 point 11 board policy 49 19 point 21 and a are for two to two and four policy for two to 31 any any questions yes I have a question on the VP for two one 9.20 one professional professional standards I just noticed on wala I'm asking on on the second page which is engaging in any conduct and endanger student staff others including but not physical limited violence threat or possession of firearm I'd like to know nowhere in here that I see because now in the 21st century then we should add social media cyberbullying because it happens I'm sure but I think we should put it in this policy because I think we should add it this time I'm not sure if we're working on it or yes one place where that's possible is if you look right on that page if you look at number two so just on the second page of this policy number two says engaging in harassing or discriminatory behavior right in there we could add including on social media toward students parents guardians etc yes all right great we'll make that change so this is information so no action is required this will come to board on consent next week and so with that the meeting is now adjourned at 8:50

Scott Lang while the chairperson for physical education education good evening everyone it is my great honor to introduce the outstanding senior award for the physical education department for the 2018-2019 school year in order to be considered for this honor a student must first be recommended in to our leaders program as a freshman once they are chosen from our leaders trainee class they then must lead for at least four semesters and receive all A's as our winner has accomplished all of these feats and also demonstrated excellent communication skills athleticism the ability to help others and a willingness to assist teachers they have truly stood out amongst an incredible class of senior leaders one of their former teachers had this to say there is someone that always takes time for others every day they bring their positive outlook to class someone who is always ready to help talk or just listen to their fellow students another teacher had this to share their daily initiative attitude and interactions with the students in class they provide an atmosphere for learning for the students that fosters independence maximizes participation and encourages students to challenge 2019-05-09 Washtenaw County, MI YouTube / CTN Ann Arbor transcript source: youtube Public Art Commission 5-8-19 · passage 1
chairman allison buck placed her Deborah of Mexico here Commissioner Joe not copy here Colleen Crawley here David Esau here John tarski yeah any discussion of the agenda next we have public comment then we have approval of the minutes from March 6 2019 thank you David second second any discussion I'm not sure how public comment could be approved as presented that small change please just deleting approved as presented any other comments questions all right so should we move to approve with that amendment so move all in favor aye all right fabulous and was that just for the amendment or was that for the whole thing oh the whole thing about we can move to do the that debate to the vice chair I said approve as amended with the amendment and actually one of the things that we might want to think about adopting is that if somebody offers an amendment it could be offered as a friendly amendment to be just accepted by those that first moved and seconded and so if not then you actually have to go on and actually vote on that particular part so I we did it as a friendly amendment which is great we have lots of friendly very friendly thank you for keeping us so next we have our report from chair and I have a couple things to report out about things that have been going on in the interim between our last meeting Deb and I met with Robert Keller who is the communication specialist at the city and he provided us a long list of the various ways the city communicates with the public through email blasts through social media through their website etc they have some newsletters and that was a very promising conversation where we can tie in our messaging into those outlets some make more sense than others obviously like the water related stuff might not make sense unless it's a project that's water related the one caveat being that any of our communication has to be directly related to a city project we can't wiggle like and say even this artist who this piece here is doing this work now in this other city those kinds of communications are outside the realm I have to be very specific to specific pieces that are within our collection but you know even having that outlet of communication to talk about our current collection is great so we're excited about that we're also going to be doing some scheduling some smaller meetings with probably two to three people at a time with robert directly so you can get that full list look that over talk to him and that's about what that means get some media training while we're there get more information from him it'll be just a really great training and informational so we'll be reaching out to you guys to schedule those depending on what works for you guys and for Robert promoting other art that exists in the city it has to be within the city collection it can't be privately funded project that's happening we can't hype that up no and that's more of like their general purview I mean they can't even talk about transportation projects that are outside of there so it's had a question well it wasn't a question it was a comment but given that there are opportunities to perhaps if we are working in partnership with the organization that is promoting that particular piece of art then we have that angle that connects us to that particular piece so I think that what it is is just that we want to make sure that we are connecting in positive ways with the city's mission as well as with the work of this commission and so it's not it wasn't a hard-and-fast but it was something that we want to consider if we're going to put something forward to through these communication channels and sometimes there's like a little bit of wiggle room as far as you know being able to share someone else's communication something perhaps if it's somehow connected so but those are kind of the intricacies that we can talk directly with Robert about and see how we best fit to taiented to Deb's comment that we we are tasked with promoting public art in the ordinance in public spaces and if you if you read that mission it's pretty broad it's basically we are tasked with encouraging art in public spaces and not just the city purchasing art so that in fact the council wants us to do that it then seems reasonable to me that we would it would be reasonable to promote a broader sort of public art than just city-owned but well I think that one of the things that we have is we have a number of ways that we would communicate with the public there are certain things that the city has in place that are for very specific purposes but as we as we are sitting right here we have the bully pulpit to be able to say pretty much anything that we would like to around that public art mission as commissioners and it's just that there are certain channels that won't be open to us in quite the same way and so I think you're absolutely right we do have that mission and it's and that's that's this great venue that we have fear and the we can actually speak directly to the public as well and I think just first figuring out how to use those systems to communicate about our current collection and then we can move forward with trying to figure out how we can get to that broader mission so this is a first step and I'm pretty excited that we had that conversation got some great information about our website and how we can add information to that so it was a great first step in moving forward with our community and being related to the city in that way because that was an issue I mean I haven't been here for a little bit because I've been working with the Human Rights Commission I apologize in fact I'll have to leave here you know about eight o'clock to go join that meeting but when I joined this Commission liaison a few months ago yeah on that now times flying communication was an issue the source of great frustration so I talked with you know folks in the legal department I talked with staff and I've asked if we can kind of open these channels you know it can't be so constrictive and so but they treat this commission just like all other boards and commissions and they all you know go back to that you know golden book that's got all the rules in it and Christopher frost who's in the legal department is the one that you know handles mostly these issues when there are any kind of questions so I guess you know it's kind of you know there's gonna be some gray area obviously always but I think Deb you made a great point if it's before working with another artist it's not part of the you know city's collection then yes that kind of Association may be permissible you know that day I would just check with our legal department real quick and you know case by case see what happens yep so additionally um just that meeting Chris Taylor our mayor reached out to me twice with two different initiatives that he's looking to us to help them out with which is why on your agenda you see um the addition of a couple working groups so I just wanted to introduce those two items now the first item we had actually sort of talked about a little bit ourselves but is the gallery here that's in our city chambers our council chambers the agreement for that came up and they've renewed with the Arts Center and he's asking us to work with them to offer feedback and work on the following how to and promotion of the gallery and its exhibits and how to theme the exhibits to align more plainly with the civic nature of council chambers so I think this is exactly what we are hoping to be able to do to help shape this and so one of the things that we have on our agenda today is forming a working group to work on specifically that and he followed up with another email about the second floor photographic representation we have on the wall known as know your history the intent behind the project it has you know pictures of mayors and administrators but it doesn't adequately reflect every honor the full scope of our community and hoping that we can come up with a way to show the more diverse community that we represent on that wall so that group will also look at that and sort of try to figure out how we can boost that yeah I know the mayor is very interested in that getting that area outside live and up and so for sure that'd be a great great project that would probably mean a lot of support and in terms of the art in the gallery here and then a council chambers I did mention it at our last council meeting unfortunately didn't have the artists name with me at the time so didn't have time to go check and I'm still not sure who it is yet it's really cool I really enjoy it and how long is it up for at a time you know just a month because the last time the last artists had their work up there longer than that I think that may have just been a scheduling issue okay yeah they were at the end of their contract so it might have been related to that so yeah okay great thanks just a quick clarification so that the end of Art Center is rotating these two spaces already the end of Art Center is this yes of picking the artist and rotating it specifically this yeah and so our involvement would be to work with the art center to diversify the to sit down with them evaluate the program and it was this past year give them feedback and then also think about ways that it can be promoted more either through our channels or through their channels it's the photographic wall though with the Art Center no that's oh it's just this space but both of those projects are gonna go in the same working group and then also work with the Art Center to do those themes that were okay the third thing I wanted to report out about we invited the Art Center to come and present about the art that is up today unfortunately no one was able to come they're putting up a exhibit themselves at their space currently so they're all involved in that but they did send over a description which I'd like to share and and is it possible to actually get the camera on the art while we're talking about it that would be yeah it'd be great if we could maybe zoom in on that yeah that's perfect and actually if he could even get closer that would be fantastic if we could pan I don't know what your capabilities are well there's the panning that's good oh there we go we're moving in all right this is our intrepid camera people in the booth are doing a great job here so yeah thank you so much okay so this artist is Michael cool Oh ga ga ga RG or ILO so I'm sorry I don't but a Royal Oak Michigan artist the artist statement throughout history humankind has buried buried the dead beneath mounds of Earth creating memorials to their ancestors buried beneath and within mounds one finds the discarded mementos of everyday experience in this body of work I am considering the weights of these collective contributions buried the modern man as they grow into new and mysterious forms and icons of modernity throughout this body of work I'm interested in the interplay of material and content there is direct relationship between my memories of compacted trash and the use of palette knife and glass to drag paint across a surface while this can create a vibrant blending of colors in the case of mound Excel it also has a potential for creating a sludge in the case of mound Excel - this fudge is not unlike that found in the back of a garbage truck I wrote in as a child with my uncle memory and process become one within this body of work so the artist by always born in Fort Lauderdale Florida as a painter and printmaker received MFA from Boston University BFA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas has received honors and awards for his work and has been included in several juried exhibitions nationally he's currently teaching at Saginaw Valley State University and Oakland University since arriving in Michigan in 2011 he has maintained an active studio practice most recently exhibiting his work in fosston Michigan Louisiana and Texas they also include a brief description about this city gallery it's an in collaboration of the city of Ann Arbor the Ann Arbor Art Center presents rotating exhibit exhibitions in the city council chambers each exhibition highlights the talent and creativity of local and regional artists to inquire about purchasing artwork please contact the Art Center so it's nice to have that information and share that out with everyone hopefully we can get them to come and present in future meetings but and I just wanted to say that and we really appreciate the work that was done by CTN to get the pieces up on the camera this evening but in person these pieces just sing the surfaces are really well worked and well constructed the colors are great and so if you are here at the city hall and just a moment it's well worth your time to just step up and see these pieces up close the final thing I have to report to you guys is that I'm excited to let you know that Bonita has hired someone to do our inventory process she's finished all the interviews and she's hired olivia Pierce who's joining us tonight and I just like Olivia to step up to the podium tell us a little bit about yourself please I am Olivia I'm currently a mom currently it's gonna be a senior at Eastern and I'm a history and geography major so I'm working on the Ann Arbor story map so like people can look at their phones and see where all the Ann Arbor Art is located and you can see pictures and descriptions of it and like a little about the artist and see where everything is so yeah thank you does anyone have any questions for Olivia well we have her here so will this be more than just on phones can we yeah well you could see it on like computers and then all devices all devices is this on the storymap platform the ArcGIS platform Oh fantastic it would just be well we have like the base layer right now and we're just gonna make it more like user friendly and like at all the pictures and excellent and that and that flat platform if if our project is picked as one of their gallery projects would actually be seen around the world so yeah yeah it's a really cool so was the process for documenting the public art collection here going to be going on to this story yes yes because we we already have like a list of all the public art in Ann Arbor and we're like going around and taking pictures and in getting like information about the artist and the art work and writing descriptions for it and also like seeing the conditions of the art and stuff so and this goes beyond the city collection or just the city it's just the commissioned city collection well if you have any questions for us feel free to reach out to us as well Vanina has all of our contact the list that you talked about could you share them with your Commission so we have a list of all the art oh yeah sure excellent so is this a city project it's Public Works and public administration as a matter of fact this is the in the [Laughter] in turn that was promised great thank you thank you so much excited to have you all right next on the agenda is new business the addition of new workgroups so we're creating two working groups you might see today that David Xin and [Music] Connie is not here with us anymore they both decided to end their time and move on so we need to find a couple more commissioners so this working group would be the people who would be responsible for selecting people going to talking to them about the commitment and all that so does anyone want to volunteer to participate on madam chair that I'm wondering if the work group in this respect could be the the chair in the vice chair and and I'd be willing to serve as the former chair and I think that that if the work group was open enough to invite any suggestions from any of the commissioners that my experience you know in that chair seat that you understand the Commission how it works and and how to best present it to someone to recruit someone so that's would be my recommendation but of course and I'm I'm willing to volunteer myself and I think if anyone wants to participate in the process I've open to you participating we've already emailed to send ideas and names and things Robert Keller as well as publishing that and getting it out Oh about you know through our channels we didn't talk about that but it's a great idea yeah pump that out there good use of that yeah yeah because um you know while we are looking to recruit commissioners it's also an process of application and so we certainly welcome anyone who might be interested to put forward such an application and that can be found on the city's website you know they might stumble across another border Commission we're looking for you know there's a lot of agencies I know a lot of these in so I mean at least we should put it on our website and perhaps um think about well it's certainly an open process and I think the application is open at all times we might want to sort of think about what that framework we would like to sort of have people consider and apply in so great so the three of us can meet and talk about that um the other working group that we need to get some members for is the one I talked about previously working with the Art Center and the council chambers gallery as well as coming up with a recommendation for a plan for the photographic wall here on the second floor so anyone who's interested in participating in said group John thank you I can participate as well great thank you guys um we don't actually have to vote to form the group so I asked Chris about that so just we all agree we want to do it that's great old business three three items to report from the staff this stadium bridge class has been panels have been replaced the I want to jump to the third item the Jewett memorial chairs the claire de s-- will be on site tomorrow to work at the citing placing the chairs in their permanent location and the last item is the canoe fan at the last city council meeting council directed mr.

2019-05-09 Washtenaw County, MI YouTube / CTN Ann Arbor transcript source: youtube Public Art Commission 5-8-19 · passage 2
Lazarus which then falls to staff to see if the canoe fan is still available for purchase if it is so yeah it was you know everyone looks kind of surprised here thank you I was hoping to see that lushly many sponsors yeah exactly councilmember Lum sponsored by councilmember Eaton response to brought resolution that I think passed almost unanimously it was wasn't close it was 10 1 or 11 nothing to enter negotiations to purchase it I know that Commission here voted 9 nothing not to entertain and so there's a lot of you know speculation as to why that was the case and I think I articulated why this Commission thought and that wasn't here I don't think when you I'm gonna miss that meeting so I just kind of didn't to speak to much but I would like to hear what you you all think of your position and that hopefully maybe I was right and then answer your questions on that but I also was in talks with staff prior to this resolution to talk with the artists about purchasing it so you know there was there was resolutions going back and forth on this one to instruct the artists to come pick it up ASAP and then another one to enter negotiations so I voted for it to enter negotiations in fact I was trying to begin those before the resolution was even passed so but for a price I think less than what the artist was asking for initially so the artist has responded that there is a community college in Indiana or somewhere it might have been interested in it and they were supposed to get back to the city by now I'm surprised we haven't heard anything yet maybe we have and I just haven't heard it yet that whether that Community College would would want to purchase it and we so she knows what we're interested and I guess now even more since that resolution was passed so we'll know soon on whether the fate of the canoe fan because council member LOM and councilmember eating especially alum you know thinks it's a iconic and I and when in a lot of us do and I agree with her it's an iconic feature of Gala Park and that it would be sad to see it go so I'll entertain questions in comments so Ally just so we're clear in the meeting minutes from last meeting there's a full page on our discussion about which pretty clearly articulates the full conversation but I'm just gonna read the last portion so while canoe fan piece has been enjoyed for many years by the residents of the community the anti Republic Art Commission recommends that the city attorney allow the lease to expire and that miss fuller which she retrieved this piece at her cost by the contract end date it is the position of the Ann Arbor Public Art Commission that due to limitations on funding and in an effort to maintain a conservative approach with regards to art in the city of Ann Arbor not to purchase the piece the artwork will be missed as for several years the community has enjoyed and inspiring an uplifting piece of public art within the city of Ann Arbor so you know very clearly it's not that we don't like the work and that we don't love having it here it's just that we have been trying to be very fiscally responsible and conservative and our approach to public art and that our understanding there wasn't funding for purchasing such a piece so it could not make a responsible recommendation to buy work with money that we don't have which is why that and this is because of recent discussions on council regarding funding public art I think that had an influence but I think just in general the public art Commission doesn't have a budget so we can't allocate funds for purchasing art and make a recommendation for purchasing something without having any formal paying yeah are you pleasantly surprised at the resolution passed are you I mean I think if the city can find money to buy the work that would be fabulous we would love to keep the piece here the piece it was just a case of the artist having done pretty much everything wrong Oh developing a very nice piece of artwork just mistake the process and so it was really hard to recommend paying her to kind of get her out of her mistakes madam chair I I would like to pick up on on what you and David have said I think everyone would like to have the piece of art stay but I really haven't seen a majority on council encourage us encourage this commission to actually go out and and suggest purchases are quite the contrary so I think what we have as diplomatically as possible said that we are trying to respect that and that we are trying to recommend projects that are incorporated and capital projects that could have a budget and that possibly could use the same materials there building bridges and walls with and fashioning them creatively okay what if the if the council would like us to in fact find artwork and they're willing to fund it I think we are ready and willing to do so so I applaud those commissioners those council members and I look forward to working with them to find other artwork that could be as equally as iconic as the fan well I mean again I'm just the liaison I'm glad well what I heard just heard is what I said at Council on Monday and if anyone listened and watched the meeting you'll see and go back and watch it if you haven't and I do actually to see what I said and so so I'm glad I captured that essence and you know the the council members that brought this resolution to Council one has repeatedly you know it's said that the ordinance itself needs work you know they want to work on the ordinance of the Art Commission and the other council member will say that we're not gonna just give you money and say go find our tie you'll have to have to go back and listen to the reasoning but I can't speak for for others but I think it is worth sitting down it's obviously a moment of optimism and hope and if we can just kind of capitalize on that I think we'll find greater success but I'm excited that it's actually working out we'll see what the artist comes back and says we might you know not have a choice on this one but at least I know where this Commission is and why it chose to vote the way it did and I know why that council voted the way it does but it needs to send you a clearer message and work on and work on that message I'm excited that they love the piece and want to see it today yeah I mean Jane was sending us photographs on Saturday like with kids playing on it and people taking pictures of it with them and she was kind of excited about the idea of keeping it you know it gal Park and thinks it'll be really missed if it's if it's not there I think it's an exciting testament to the power of public art in our community and I think that if we can continue to promote the pieces we have sharing pictures of how people interact with them and just the joy that they really bring all these different spaces I think we can continue to bring more support to the Commission and just to our art collection and how we want to continue to promote this in our community because it's transformative and I think that we could gain even more support you know if we continue to share how that's happening with all these different pieces and thank you for representing us at that meeting and you know I hope that they didn't take that as us not being supportive of the piece responsible yeah and I respect that and that's and I saw that and that's without seeing the minutes here you and so I'm glad that's that's what what I said on Monday and I you know came at a good time so so you know it's good it reminds us that you know sometimes you know good things happen you know for different reasons if you start off and you think you got your heart set on this and it but sometimes the best things happen when you you don't intend for that it perhaps in this case this canoe thing was we'll see I don't wanna jinx it I am known to jinx things but you know it's not the contract was kind of butchered and and this and that whatever but yet we have something that everyone likes thank you you all should have the report that was circulated via email and I believe the NIDA included it in the agenda basically we we wanted to zero in on how we can in fact promote our existing artwork that and do it simply in a way that could also be flexible enough to be expanded and incur and include not just fine artworks owned by the city but also cultural assets including historic exhibits and possibly sustainability kinds of things that are part of the city's culture which is really what public art you know is all about so the art this particular group has met on several times and they're made up of Colleen Crowley Allison and myself that I have reached out to Don Hammond because he is the primary graphic designer for the historic streaks of a program which is very successful and has become iconic and has sorely missed if it would be removed and he has some interesting insights valuable ones that I've listed both in this one and and in and the previous report that I submitted on behalf of the working group basically what he's recommending is three parts a physical label at the work of art and how we define the work of art could be expanded whenever we choose to but start with our iconic pieces maybe the fan the canoe fan in Gallup Park that that label would simply state the name the title of the work the artist and possibly the date and also have a QR code that QR code could take the visitor the user to a website and that website could be any number of things it could also allow the city to allow art to be accessible to those with disabilities so that's not another advantage that that this particular aspect of the of the project would have in addition to that he's recommended some kind of a print a card a brochure whatever but three components so the the the the label would be at the site of the artwork a card could be electronically shared with various folks throughout town conventions and Visitors bureaus cafes things like that that they could incorporate it within their own sort of a promotional material and both of those would have QR codes that would allow the user to go to a website and have an expanded information base so I've listed a number of advantages they they're they're pretty obvious that you know we need more accessibility to our cultural assets this is a way to do it defining it more as a cultural asset as opposed to fine art could bring in a lot more stakeholders including this historic straight exhibit program Rader considers those pieces public art well we can welcome that into this particular way of promoting public art Don recommends that the first step is to bring these together into what he calls a proof-of-concept mock-up so it's basically what does it look like and how is it look tied together a simple mock-up of a label a mock-up of a card and a mock-up of a homepage and one page of a website but just get the design together so that you can show people that that could be done in-house if it's if if the city feels comfortable enough that the work group wants to emphasize that this particular promotional piece is actually going to be a part of our cultural assets so it just really needs to look good and that that he believes that this this this proof-of-concept mock-up would cost less than three thousand dollars if it was done professionally and it could probably be some measure in between that if it was in court if it was a part of the city the city wants to do a part of this that I mentioned the collaborators that when you get this a digital sort of component and we start identifying collaborators and sharing them this brings in more stakeholders so that they can the hands-on museum can be promoting public art while it's promoting its museum the coffee shops can be promoting public art while they're promoting their new drink that as well as those stakeholders for cultural assets as I mentioned the historic Street exhibit program and you know the live roof that we have right out here it's unique in terms of sustainability and it is it's not fine art but it certainly speaks to who we are as a city a cultural asset our rain gardens these are things that are a part of our culture they could be incorporated in some way and should be as a broad menu of of assets so our working group recommends that this Commission ask these tips the staff to explore producing a proof-of-concept mock-up for an artwork label printed card and web page either in-house or outsourced to local graphic designers to to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of producing the final elements either in-house or outsourced to local fabricators so this is a first step in exploring what the city can do and how it can do it and maybe putting some kind of a cost attached to it I would make that as a motion from our work group so what I'm first recommending that the staff explore producing a proof of concept however either in-house or outsource it to someone an RFP however they want to do it we have an estimate that it would cost less than $3,000 in addition to that evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of producing the elements of this mock-up the final project either in-house or outsource so what I'm proposing the Commission ask staff is to start thinking about this thinking first of all actually do a a mock up of a proof of concept second start exploring whether or not the city could fabricate the signs or could actually do the kinds of web work that would be necessary could create kind of the the digital brochure sort of thing the city has a communication department they have a two million dollar budget they have professional folks here they may not be have the time along with a whole lot of other things to do it so I totally understand that they have a sign shop but that's I don't I don't know those issues and I don't think our Commission should know them all we are asking is let's move this forward the way to move it forward is to develop a mock-up of a proof-of-concept we've done all the work for all the good reasons we have put forward whether that this should be done that Don Hammond is recommending that you know the next step is is to get something that you can look at to see how this looks and and at the same time start thinking about who can fabricate this or does the city want to take this fabrication out or not so I have a question and this is great because we certainly want labels that are able to interface well with the public it's going to promote our work and it may actually also eventually have some links to the online story map project as well have you or is part of this research into what these might be in other communities are there such uniform labeling with the QR codes so that maybe we could have a jumping-off point for this the city to sort of be thinking about because if it's been tested someplace else because he sits out in the weather and you know it's you know how it would be great to have a couple of examples of that to help them sort of see what it is that we're sort of heading for so I was just wondering if you had done some of that research yet or no if that could be part of this sort of thinking about it it could be but I think our work group has spent the time it can - I wouldn't know who to call and I'm not interested in calling anybody to find out I do know there are QR codes I go to Chicago I go everywhere I see QR codes and Kroger's so I know that this works I know it's seen I've seen it outside the QR codes not the issue right we can we can have a QR code for this meeting right right now but I think it's just thinking what that if there are some examples of what this signage can look like then we can actually move in a little faster I think toward you know what we might actually want this reinventing the wheel if somebody else have it rained on and snowed on and pleated on and so then we could just take advantage of that well that could be a part then of staff exploring mm-hmm the second aspect of the civility the advantages and disadvantages produced in the elements in house or outsourcing several of the works do have labels so there is examples out there of different materials being used as labels I think part of this is making those cohesive and represent a more election more uniform having these you know if you see this label on something you immediately recognize that it's part of this other collection when you see those same types of labels throughout so there might already be examples from the current collection that could be looked at and say well this one really worked or this one we had replaced three times or whatnot additionally you know we have a very various collection so there's you know there's sculptures that are in the middle of plaza there are things attached to walls and so they require different types of signage so kind of looking to the city just sort of to figure out what works best because they have the most experience putting up signs throughout the city making science and so we're kind of looking to them to get feedback as well great beside what has been working what is not working what needs to be updated so she is looking at that - great she seems like a good partner for this as well yeah first of all since John made a formal motion I will second that just so we can actually yes so I did move that the Commission recommends staff and I read it so it's in the it's in the report the recommendations of port report I'm submitting it as a motion thank you for second David any other I'm having a hard time understanding what the card is is that one piece that covers all of the artworks or is that one piece for each artwork and if it's one piece for each artwork where would it be the card is more of like a informational piece that talks about the full collection it's more of a summary piece of what all these different cards are all the different labels so the project itself is gonna be all the cultural assets so it's basically a brochure for the city public art system saying that these labels exist saying that this website exists saying you should go check them out yeah a very general piece not an encyclopaedia of all of the artwork maybe a sample a couple examples and in in parts so that collaborators could take and pick whatever suits them but it would be promoting the idea that we do have public art and we do have labels and we do have ways of connecting to deeper information on the web I support the direction we're going with this I just have to remind the art commission that we don't have a budget for this type of work even if it's only 3000 we have scraped the corners of what art money we had to get the intern on board so going forward we'd have to look at how to do it when you talk of staff doing it basically it's Bonita and I if you're going to engage communication staff we have to have a funding source to pay for their labor because our on on board already doesn't mean they are funded to work on this project I do wonder um so there is a maintenance budget correct the maintenance of art within our collection is the responsibility of the host of the art I wonder if you know having a label that identifies the piece and the artist seems essential to the upkeep and if it could be somehow when you said do we have a maintenance budget I answered to you who maintains out I did not tell you there was a budget for me when a piece of art needs maintenance the host has to go find the money to do it and I guess I'm suggesting that maybe with this is one example of where we look to the hosts to provide the funding for the labels it's something we can definitely explore as to how we do this but I don't want you to think we're gonna charge off and do it immediately we're gonna have to first of all figure out how how the heck we pull the resources together to do it ma'am Jer speaking to mr.
