Castro we are united in a zero tolerance policy as it relates any acts of violence within any of our buildings I know that there have been several arrests of course we know how many who names some of these people who are minors protected under the law share the names other than suspensions and movements for expulsion for those individuals that are filed so the takeaways this there are roughly two small groups of students that are trying to disrupt the educational process they're 3,000 students we are not going to let that do that it's just that's up and as crystal Allen said is you know the law says we have to go to the student and education we will do that so I'm all responsibility but that does not mean it has to be in dario's that's what we need to do to protect the rest of students there are educational experience and that's what we'll do we have a police presence over the last four days last two days of quiet I person this is a building on Monday building tomorrow morning really no and it's just a silly kids that you know we are concerned but we're also recognizing that we have a safe environment for our students I know that the PD is trying to through some of these issues and other kids involved I'm seeing a look at what their disagreement is but I just want to assure people that we believe that there a school is safe and that we take every time we can to mitigate this for our service you can never ever promise anybody's nobody it's ever going to get her any factories that's impossible but the reality is is that that building we had five police officers on the daily basis with a contingent of five to seven at school five to seven safety advocates with a very seasoned initiatives staff the two other teachers in the building belong to support staff have a handle about what's happening in the building escalating and reporting those before us clockwork so that we can respond back we're your partners we don't mind uh schools we all do we're support way to deal with the nixar that you had a resources so that I don't know I just tossed over the teeth a little bit and any questions or comment for good evening everyone - thank you for having me really not much to add to what the mayor said just to assure and reassure everyone that the police department is working with the school and the administration to ensuring his as the mayor said we have in addition to the school resource officers we have other officers on the premises on the perimeter and for the last few days we have added to that just to ensure that the students understand and we take their concerns seriously and we will address any any issues with regard to the fighting that's been going on we have already taken action as far as we're concerned to address those issues but now what we're doing with our investigation really is to try to get to the root cause so that we can work with the administration to develop some long-term solutions okay just a good question I'm sure you guys the party done this but it's one part about necklaces and the exits of high school sure you guys sort of evaluated them and again you know we heard lots of things through Sony which I don't want to poverty I just wanted everybody that's up I think they had a lot yeah so most Santa unfortunately we you know we all had to do a very static assessment of every single building in the city of Danbury up up its specific specifically our our schools and we have reports on all the buildings when we did the upgrades to the under high school that world of two years ago now we incorporated a lot of the recommendations that you now see there for example having the single entrance in and out as all the classes now shaft with classes all through there we had a waiting for that and a lot of extensive work and closing out the backyard Eastfield right a car way up into the cafeteria to remember how it used to be set up so that's all been to kind of soften out and out there and you know the way it's still a challenging did building in a sense that there are last count roughly forty five to fifty different exits and entrances or doors Lisa access the exterior and they're there for fire safety reasons can't chain him off the block in law so our staff has to be extra digital in terms of monitoring those to not let people in from the outside which is I think are you know the greatest concern all the satellites notice there okay it might be from somewhere else so we'll continue to do that but to the extent that we've implemented all of the security procedures you see now those who are flexing of that study those things are kept by file meaning rather than on Wednesday oh that's a good point so dr.
C on stating the lead on task force if you will or committee that's looking at some of the larger issues there are myself I'd be decertified chief but now it's going to serve on it dr. Stowell serve on it and we've got some parents as well as clergy people that are connected in the community and you just were just applause communications back and forth it's a make sure that everybody's sharing the right information it the biggest customer to be is the stuff that you see that comes through it's so long and it gets repeated so many times it's the telephone game you used to play with your kid multiplied like a billion times and it scares people but I understand why would I fire it my child I'd be very scared so I get so we've got to figure out a way to keep those lines of communication open direct me to the parents of it they you know weighing what we're about now and also how they can help you know there's things that are happy with their hearing things that we want you know them to be part of the solution and also our students you know they're Monday I was saying to see something say something don't be afraid to say that in trouble for saying something if you know you're out there not saying it becomes an issue I also do want to say if you are posting threatening things on snapchat you are sending text you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and our detectives have a unique ability to track down who sent the text who did the snapchat because they have relationships with all the social media channels and they have the weight of law enforcement behind them to get access to that they have a lot better than anybody else I mean these kids or young people will get a knock on the door [Music] last year the wrong week certainly was kids they can hear me sorry chief as I was saying it was a tough week specific small students cost a lot 25:17 fighters are set to be 1207 500 directly related to an ongoing issue that started in the community last june carry over the summer and is still going on now the other two those altercations the amount of altercations and the services of high school are not the norm at denver high school you know we're getting back to the north now it took a lot to get there initiated a staff to try to figure this out this is Mayor Lou - it's no longer - people just saying something now we have to spend a tremendous amount of time tracking things through technology that we are not awesome at and snapchat and all these other places that we need to find out who's handled is what believe it or not what they are saying sometimes became understand what they're saying when they type things so there's a lot of takes a lot of time to get to them and you end up putting a lot of people out of state this is pastor you know it's not something we take a lot of pride in but I do realize in a school our size that I cannot let a small amount of people disrupt school and bring out the anxiety to whatever it was that we did rumors their work without pointing specifics three different incidents that were talking about that all weren't related but they were all brought together at the conclusion of Wednesday Thursday and Friday next week last week I just tightened everything up off his knees it was like a perfect storm of three things come together last week we had an association of schools since the teen high school every 10 years it was Leslie 18 all I heard was what David is for respect roses caring adults school that's working kids of our Deen classes I heard we take six but it happens in box but these are strangers walking through your halls looking at this with their own eyes those conferences Wednesday we have from last week crisis so this is a multi-faceted approach you're breaking up the fight one but this is anger among kids there's some families involved this is not just the nurses these are families he's in the neighborhood so that's why but three things like a check hey I'm at work right now but I just know that one of these seniors found out from one of the safe brassy found my suit that's right there were five in total but three were found on a suit I just learnt the whole mess of people of course a lot of things not true but there's so many things that go on that we can't control we can't control but I welcome from Paris walk around make an appointment I'm proud of the work that we have to be a problem there's no question but I think you need to just survey on the problem and not incriminate the other goddesses are there was there a lot of cable on the energy that we should protect so I think some of these are going to do the upload but it's not a school problem I think that's what in there that's why Patrick left Wednesday yes he said instruction the connection to the kids process the place and I school work were lovers facilities and things like that but we left there and this right after and it just was all right back now I'd like to thank the mayor the police chief the detectives that did this they did a fantastic job in I couldn't even imagine figure out where that snapped at /bin came from and they figured it out on Monday morning at Pakistan the kids they found out so I can't dr.
south over the weekend the cabinet for open discussions the Mayor was on the phone really a team effort and you know I know people have done a lot quicker the one thing I won't do is put out false information or maybe yes I will do that until I know for exactly what I'm saying where it's coming from that's when I have to wait that's why it was Saturday dr.
Sauer eluded to us and we'll talk about this more very briefly during the discussion case but as far as than he has report goes at the pleasure of also sitting in to listen to the debrief with the leader of that group and while as an oral debrief more details sunrise coming some of the things to know and the Primavera ficuses some of this choice attributes fell along the lines of positive school climate and statement secure homes for students creating a model for white for a widely diverse community and then is after a year of self-study and interviewing working with the teachers and students so these were their words and feelings about how to talk about the school and I just want to make sure that that doesn't get lost in some of the conversations thank you all right hi everybody after that very serious I just have an item of concern that I've chucked out for the calendar I think that hydrogen before dinner on this evening proposed draft order and I actually spoke with the eg that committee about this yesterday so now that I'm going to say is we're gonna do to them today the 10th or 27th day for next year is marked on the calendar as a 90 minute after school meeting day for teacher evaluation so the interesting is concern is this this year we have a our early release we had for the same type of work that we need to be done last year we have a half day and years prior to that we had a half day from a teacher evaluation of a national development work we do consider this a professional development day the teachers consider this their most important professional development day because the teacher evaluation work is the day when we actually run things together and for those of you who don't know our both men are only impacts our evaluation are here and evaluation but it also impacts the work we do for students for the whole year it's when we're setting our our our plan in motion for how they're going to implement instruction and we have a set what's called s elbows and my age GPS on terms that we have to use our student learning outcomes and our indicators of academic growth and development for our students what we need to do to set these goals is spend countless hours working with our colleagues more from the data and that data is given to us we are conducting assessments and early temer and all of our students and poring over prior data from from the years past and looking at students we have in front of us and saying what goals can be achieved for the year ahead that takes collaborative work in school where we have to meet with our colleagues meetings departments through these groups of teachers it's not something that you can just do independently it takes an inordinate amount of time farther than half day of school but we are requesting that is of as it is on the counter currently as the 90-minute after-school meeting that we go back to what we originally had two years ago and have a half-day I will say and the board has been working in the past couple of years to make sure you have continuous instruction days and make sure you have the most instruction in a month and I appreciate that and the teachers are completely for that it with the calendar but what we're concerned about is if we don't get this work done properly it will impact our instruction we have to be able to have that time to critically look at the data and that's right a little we are requesting for that to be half J I don't know if any of you have any questions about that but we certainly send them to us if you have any ideas or concerns I would even address that in a different way we would be able to continue to discuss discussion I know we were kind of looking at the calendar and Karen or County days and seeing how we can rearrange things and it's one literature if we want to have you know a certain amount of days of continuous instruction but I just strongly urge that that day the half days so bear with me so I'm starting a positive today we have Carol wiser and our building who worked with our portrayed team and she is amazing and I said that her report but I just wanted to reiterate it one more time just to make sure everybody understands what an asset she is to this district her depth of knowledge about today is remarkable just remarkable but she really helped our team didn't just hit a lot today into a lot of things that we didn't know we were able to look at so there's my first stop the rest is all about last meeting so a few things came up the last word meeting right and jokingly said at the end when mr. Johnson had made a comment about my hearing from yes so I got lots of staying out so here I am about two weeks later to say all that I didn't get so the first is about the PTA feedback so it was for Austin hi I'm spoken about the overall positive nature of the feedback from both the children the October and November so I just wanted to and you totally say that that was not the keys in all places I can only speak to the elementary level but I certainly have spoken high school teachers and middle school teachers as well but at the elementary level talk to a lot of them the positive feeling isn't quite so universal and I really wanted to speak to the way that the evaluation plan summary written so that accurately if I'm reading or offering feedback or even a reflection on that day is challenging just by the nature of the way that the questions are worded additionally they're now electronic so as opposed to being a paper pen tell them to ask so the anonymity was sort of there and people were a little bit more willing to speak freely and they're fast whereas I don't feel like that is the case and that's not to say that feeling that's when people saying to me write that on there they know who I am right so just something to consider another topic that was addressed at the last meetings the track to the calendar which Aeronautics poco but I won't talk specifically to the reduction of conference days the question was asked a lot of things happen and whatever remember so after hearing that discussion of it back to my school a little dated I swear routine today of my own and found my calendars yes I keep everything going back to 2011 2012 which is not when I started just happens to be what was on the walls so I guess they stopped and in each of those years conferences were held over for days not over the three that they were this current year so that loss of the day is pretty dramatic in some cases there's some I noticed an impact for me personally with parents having an unlimited number of dates so if their day off wasn't one of those three days rate that was Senator problem does that mean yes I was able to accommodate some parents I was able to come morning after school additional days I was not alone week that's fine you know everybody is able to do that because of the nature of their personal situations and then any of the middle school teachers you've heard from that last time maybe five hours of hundred or more conferences to do in just three days so my hope is that you would consider being stating that birthday on the calendar for next year I know they're early dismissals they know everything that Aaron sedimented of the work that you've been doing and it's important for us to that's I can't stand being in a day and update in a day amount of day because I don't get anything done either you know it's harder parents that that conference work is something that's created critically important and the last plane has to do with communication a topic that I have addressed here in the past and I think is something that we know a little bit better on I appreciated this bonuses comment last time for question to mr.
Walston about restorative practices and so I can again anecdotally share that yes some of the other principles of America are leading some different kind of the PD experiences that are days yes two and a half hours sometimes after school I teach 12 days the other part that's another story but the roll out if there really is one a restorative practice is definitely different in different places quite varied a little bit of therapy so my hope again going forward is that a more clear message can be shared with all staff about how the practices are changing around this and what it actually looks like going forward I think is an amazing idea and the concept of how is it practically being implemented and what is it really like so many hopes and dreams make mango lesbos stay hopes and dreams I'm happy to say there were no chairs necessary to it happy Thanksgiving happy Thanksgiving thank you germán Sanchez good evening everyone my name is Hana mom Sanchez and I'm a resident of Danbury Connecticut I also am a veteran of the United States Army that served in efforts of Operation Iraqi Freedom and I'm a proud parent of two children who are and the Danbury public school system I have a first grader who was at the South Street Elementary School and have a seat here at every high school I was very proud to fight for what I believe in whether that's for my country or for over I'm doing here you know sitting in front of you guys advocating for the every prospect charter school and I ask that you know here's the exhaust out of other neighbors you know and our school board system so you can stand with me and help to support the opening of the every public charter school I've seen firsthand how the current pump that we have in our current school system of the or crowdedness has affected our middle schools and our neighboring high schools as well and there is no doubt that our community is growing yeah that's a good thing but growth cannot come at a cost what's impacting our most vulnerable which is our children and their education you know classroom sizes are just going to the point where teachers have to you know not able to spend the adequate amount of time necessary helping those students who need the extra help and support and at times they have a little time also to even be able to identify individually with their students history and we sis I believe that uh you know teaching has become sort of this monotonous assembly line with it's just you know students coming and leaving students come and getting out and in some cases you know it just don't have you to be a good amount of tests you know I hear though at times students having to rush so they can be able to get C or even in the cafeteria so they can be able to sit down and have lunch you know even school faculty now being able to control certain situations because of the amount of students that they have I know that we just had here the mayor and the chief in terms of the principal I'm talking about five server having or even other issues but not being able to contain because he of the ratio of students to faculty and at times you know our schools are even older looking at such items have such gains of excuse me as bullying and a drug-related issue because there's just so many of it going on right now how are they able to contain it I found myself you know at times really hard to dive in to really learn the materials that my daughter's being taught at the school so that can be able to you know learning myself and then be able to you know teach it to her so that she's not left behind and you know I'm not saying that we have bad teacher support education here I endeavored you know we actually have great teachers here the thing is I believe is that they don't have the tools necessary to carry out their missions and educators I feel that they just have too many students and basically it's just one students the world one one they need more help that is needed basically more he's more but basically you know we feel that the next solution happens to be is in every public charter school my name right now we know that we extension of the utility our high school we see how that goes extension is an extension and at this time I believe that the most you know not to mention the learning for thousands spent from our our taxpayers to be able to have a succession I think the most cost-effective right now is in every public art school I had the opportunity to go out there in Brooklyn and be able to walk through a hallway speak to those students which is most important principals and teachers what I saw out there at length up there saying hey this is the type of education that we need this is a several schools that we need up here to see that culturally diverse teachers seeing these students engage one to learn participated class and not spend their times just looking at their cell phones enough time they're very impressed and not at the same time think to myself well they're getting the access to of you know an international academic you know education and I just believe that this is something that we eat here but again I'm gonna wrap this up and thank you guys for your time and have a happy Thanksgiving Stephanie here thank you my name is 70 and if you don't know me I have a junior in the high school and I am one of those parents that does not panic easily but my son came home on Thursday he never tells me anything about school I asked him out of school it's great anything I should not know it's all one-word answers but on Thursday he came and jumped in at an arcade book the bus and he said there was a lot of advice to school well I was a parent how notified me so it means two girls just slapping each other or someone was to not get on the ground so I just dismissed it and I had great faith in the administration at the end of my high school I can't tell you enough how much faith I have in them so I asked myself you feel sad to go school on Friday so I look short I said you want to stay home anyway that's the truth okay so I know something's happening to the school I don't exactly know what and an email from Downton a while back saying some tragedy happened dig around it is in the details of tragedy and move on my life so he tells me a few things that use her okay so I'm waiting for some type of official communication from somebody in authority and on Friday I actually called but my phone was blowing up with parents that I got well what a good even whether you know several anything so I actually called level-one office left a message and said you need to be the communication touch the parents what's going on so I'm Friday night I need a corner and was the other public school okay super communication while he was really going on and what it was about maybe having a mall on Saturday that's my first communication the vision was still enough so now we have a other parents who start talking to each other again I'm not panicking and I had such a my son says you want to go to school on Mondays if you won't let me stay home which is the absolute truth I won't let him to stay home because there's a problem at school you will take care of it you will have more police officers there and whatever he has done garland if you have to so when they have the email from Donovan on Saturday that was what I wanted to hear that was what I wanted to see that you were addressing it and don't care about names I don't care about any of that I wanted to know that you were taking a hard line and going to zero tolerance and that the best what are you doing and that's what I wanted to hear as far as I'm concerned this is done like his going to school tomorrow absolutely I said I said okay come on his products all that little stuff going on this is mom I have an English test first period can I stay home I said not going to school so please communicate it to us in an appropriate time even if it's a stay we're on it we'll get back to you later we don't going to give you false information or lack of information but we're on it we're not ignoring you with one's community but we're not it we just need more time that's all I ask I'll Rizzo good evening my name is help himself the issue that I wanted to just have been addressed thoroughly by chief right now in there I will defer the rest of my time happy Thanksgiving happy Thanksgiving congratulations on your life okay we're going to scan back to recognitions I really isn't like a contractor real reason we like the company I could be more excited to recognize one of our veteran teachers in Danbury mr.
Erickson boy ski who has been teaching in a damn high school for 27 years and our CTE Department wasn't called that back in the day was appalled we started testing our industrial art watson's bought every almost every class or thing that we've had there but he hasn't had his talk now we settled into a specifics that he's doing here but we are here to recognize him for winning the Connecticut teacher education associate Harrison Baker award which is the highest award that the Association gives out for a technology education teacher and it's known for his dedication to the students and teachers in the area of technology and education well the prove that we take one look at isn't probably know what people mostly know Erik for is now his robotics we actually window so no other kids to jump and out the window they were trying to get their 11 o'clock at night to grab the robots and things like that so he does an excellent job and this past Saturday hosted a Robotics Competition at Damron high school with 61 different teams from around the state and the best part about it is not all the kids have it all the fun and excitement of everything's going on is the emails that the entire I know dr.
Sal and I get about every time he has a competition he updates us on every single robot image f6 we have a 707 robots they do it every single time we read it they're all successful so it's kudos to him and I'd like to join around [Applause] [Music] second advices Panetta discussion hearing none all those in favor aye opposed stain motion carries yes just as part of a consent calendar acknowledgment donation the Kiwanis Club of Greater damn every day two foundations of dozens of instruments you have on the schools in October as part of this new initiative who wants to sister mental the children's lives the des music department we have student representatives [Music] to begin me Jake are here on behalf of our treasurer remember Julia how's your politics and not being able to meet yourself so first I would like to thank all thank you for all graphics class because in high school and all the proper steps that were taken to ensure SAT so last week was a tough one for DHS in a movie - ed over the penis week my fellow officers and I were approached by multiple parents institutes with concerns of their safety dusty as a student representative we know a lot of our school but we don't always have the answers the entire week of the student body seen as a result in trouble was happening I did not find anything after season on Friday I decided to take my brother home he's a freshman special needs he told me it seemed Rudy fights on Thursday and was scared there be another including hot would feel scared for him as a big sister and I still stand by my choice it seems she's parents was a message was sent out but some parents didn't understand what just so long and why school didn't go on lockdown we figured out what was going on there were a total of eight fights but there were rumors that 20 took place on the school ground that week and that a student and I would not let you see his fan next time it is our responsibility to training how students feel and then there are today that every 7 hours community service royalties over swore embed codes has size that affects that she culture which was served Estonia supporter on Thursday morning as on the corner of Main Street and every shape Florida has been donated by the growths and Cody back peasants of issues have been motivated by Marni xxx xxx as worth Carol Lynn camp and the Key Club ballot for 6th grade students at our new middle school as well as many Maori citizens December 4th join so many of us with you be taking Tony wants to disturb you performance out they lastly a bit unclear things being by saying thank you without a board members central administration never public schools and community members was a court over to me at 26 over 70 tonight sir 327 place we cater such a shirt off things follow the law [Music] the it's time knowledge economy so around around November we received this fantastic packet that to describe the new career clusters and pathways that Connecticut has basically certified as having high degrees of potential of high degrees of demand and he used a lot of regional economic settings to come up with these particular career clusters I'm gonna let Melissa talk to you about the difference between the career clusters of pathways and the programs of study that people to get to explore material so you all know is passionate and lasting so there's 16 national career clusters that are identified for various bureaus nationally so it's outside of the state of Connecticut these career clusters Oh si si Connecticut is adopted to all of them within the state of Connecticut they work from these 16 career clusters to narrow down to 12 that fit in with our daily markets so they worked closely with department of labor they were close with over 25 different organizations in Connecticut to identify really where the labor market will focus for our students and the next 10 years so when we look at career pathways are they center around each 12 and so the purpose of career clusters and what the state of Connecticut and you use awkward the vision demands that we started moving in a direction to provide students with opportunities that are really directed towards careers they define that there's certain programs of studies that can occur within each of these career clusters so within a tall career clusters and and you'll see in the packet about Cara records to the today's sales within all of those career clusters there's numerous pathway 73 pursue so we're going to show some examples of some coming up but when we talk about a program of study in a program of study is really at a school level two courses of the sequence that will eventually lead to industry recognized credentials so currently we have such a program and we're very proud of that program Denver has we'll each year graduates roughly approximately sixty students that graduate from high school alma will also have their certified nursing assistant sergeant certification we're very proud of this program and in pressure and more than haze on our wall so this program is in such high demand I get over 200 students that apply for every single year and we can't accommodate 200 students in our current of course offering and so we're recognized for the amount of growth that we have in a student organization because there's so many students that have this interest so what this allows us to do is to look at not only will be cheaper nursing but it allows us to expand it to any of those other club career clusters so in the back of the pocket it can be sent to you you can see that there are a variety of industry recognized credentials in variety of the areas that correlate to the to the identified clusters and so what we plan on doing all this is relatively the city medica now the idea of career clusters but just the organization and the momentum behind it right now appealing is there's a sense of priority on this and after visiting mr.
voice against them here after visiting mr. Schwartz these classes after visiting the CNA classes after seeing the computer-aided drafting classes and some of the more technical process of culinary arts classes the engagement levels of these classes are unbelievable the bell would ring and kids are still you know so you know this is what we want for all of our kids the internationals really need to sense that we are still large its own army yes you have so many a lot of experts expertise attend very high school and we feel that some of the repackaging of some of the courses that we currently have up there music some of the CTE is for the purpose William would you get from Connecticut we're not all committed to investigating all these industry industry credentials to see what's very doable as within our reach a lot of process very much for money in ways that we can outfit on create support sequences that end in some of the ability for students to achieve some these certifications so students who graduated in rehearsal Palma as well as gets absorbed as recognized so one should see any program burgers you know we should be expanding that you know we did mention this conversation with Russell Donovan and again it's all very exciting stuff stage civilization of space and become very innovative creative approaches Tomas there's not a lot of extra cash flow to go around but we do feel that we can start to move in this direction yeah I'm sure as this is this past summer I worked with Erika keen who is in our education and early early education pathways she runs a little Hatters facility on campus and so we started to already do some work and aligning our curricula for that core sequence of child development into the early childhood education us to include first aid CPR she really aligned recruitment with some of the so she worked specifically with charter over State College so high summer curriculum so students can start earning some credit through there and as a new partnership ever looking to develop but also the certifications that exceed listed here that the ParaPro certification the certification the student sensitive or rate before graduation they can lead with a pair of pro certification and also working including our numerous schools a very professional which would include living wage so it's pretty exciting stuff going to take all the amount of opportunities that students and okay so she just acts in the packet time to explore a little bit more on there's more detailed information about the different types of simple courses and the potential lead in occupations and so students have achieved these credentials leave school high school and begin to work immediately or for part-time and while attending college in any of these CA degree students are ranging from anything from being a certified nurse assistant to entering school to be a pet and they have these credentials and they have some were powerless in patient contact our Saffiano leather burgers here's an example one of your career academies know on from killing with a high school that show the sample courses are at the high school along the potential dual enrollment experiences and an industry recognized credentials that students are obtaining as a result of participating in these programs so so one thing I charged the Department for the last year working with industry professionals in the area I spoke to I think last year some of those partnerships I've developed so one wonderful thing with our local arrests they've developed this information by working with his partner earlier and doing a lot of the legwork for us to provide some information on rarely said within the workforce boards and etiquette so what leads to so Denver's unique Berbice it and an area that you know over Costa solar close and then we have our northwest corner of us and what the local words have done is really seeped out again between now and 2030 six what are those you know the pockets of later ARCA that are going to pop up that will that will have soon focus access their jobs and so because of our location we could pull down from old with us both of these areas to inform off the direction of our our pathways and you know it's kind of small on the corner it's like a little small but you'll see that there's overlap between architecture construction Health Sciences and manufacturing industry but also the business as well sees finance to see marketing and absolutely information technology so it's looking to use the data for the future offerings to inform our practices here so that Guardian students the opportunities to enter our workforce with the credentials and the information they need to be successful so you go to the scientist so you know some of the things that we have been talking about our how sort of the Sun Moon and stars which are lining up with the City of Connecticut with a few things so just just a few years ago the state of Connecticut instituted some graduation requirements which type of process of egg hunts and in some ways in terms of the number of credits but and where those credits fall but they've also creates of less abilities that we live right-handed comment column the state now saying that for example nine credits in the humanities leading citizen arts for nine credits in science technology engineering effects so there's a lot more flexibility in categories of which those graduation are satisfied degree the the previous version is a little bit more explicit and very sequential they were in high school we interpreted that very very stretchy surface by way and some new requirements provide for some plus abilities to thought so it's an appointment might wonder miss adapters of policy and get to align it with the teeth we entered some of the possibilities that we do have and the reason why this is significant these resolution permits which came out first is that the we just received them too long ago or the early fall and we'll our reference to talk assignment pose most interesting about this particular is that inline distraction of clients in line with this question ethically certain pathways to offering different opportunities Connecticut has now made some changes to the types of certifications of teachers to now and at Broadmoor that is this important because we often struggle to hide where our certifications to get some of these different on teaching position so now there are distributor code certifications for integrated humanities integrated SEM and blogging and those requirements so also coming up this January will be joining the state and we have the National Center for college and career transitions along lines of designing college and career pathways for our students so you know and we have a very successful program for the CNA program so that was really happy to expand our offerings for students so we'll be doing this and this is an opportunity for us to work with an outside consulting firm we have to see who has priority with this would be the priorities for Alliance districts to start exploring all the new opportunities so we're the last thing that we'll show you so they said they were clock the Department of Labor and so the Department of Labor they working out with this information to talk more about the career pathways that are available and I think was important especially when they were around talking about stem the dinner opportunities and manufacturing and Computer Sciences is that because a lot of these fields have changed with technology many people don't necessarily have the understanding who they really are today so we kind of go into this I think it was from 20 years ago and you know what people can actually earn in these degrees so it's kind of nice to department labor has come up with these posters and they are centered around all of our career clusters and it talks about how students just graduating with a high school diploma what types of opportunities are available to you what type of opportunities can be available to you after earning on the job or having some other experience and what Josh in the skill with a higher degree so when you do have the Career Pathways only developer our students exactly you're me and we can provide you with a credential that can help you start so and here's our temporary construction you can meet with credentials such as an OSHA at our credit you can do the certification in Adobe NIT and earn a job with an annual wage starting here but after a few month of job or an associate's degree you can easily move up the ladder into this segment and if you wanted to continue in earth or a bachelor's degree and because of civil engineering that's also an opportunity for you it's showing students I there's a breakfast of careers that are available to you and regardless it accomplishes your end goal your first goal or it is not even goal there are opportunities for you in all of these skills this is something that we talk about how we could you go into your herb or any Burkett's I'm Selassie what we'll talk about this this show you a short video on the National does a national med school transformation model which is may have heard us talk about a little bit about the Pens of Nashville we could design something and make it look like this this is what we would do to be the dream however there is much to be learned and gleaned and pentascales with this model so a little bit about what this looks like the study whoa and we're hoping to visit very soon they have a there's studies as a person funded but it's field studies to bring educators to this community this is Sarah heralded a national model for trans to our learning and classrooms and high schools reading down that's a lot of shoe bristles they work Mr Sanders Sanders natural we knew that we had to create and transformation that was founded in relationships took the trigger covers for destruction [Music] [Applause] [Music] we all how many translations must be practically broken into these fish hands the first random is transforming degenerate this is all about true engagement the student it's our students have a much better idea I will be allowed to do a teacher and her had already taught the last really and yourself everything from the Medical Sciences to engineer this man in our area right now that was said in college well you know there's all these other college people secondly is transported the school structure and that's changing these large comprehensive high schools breaking them down into smaller learning communities so the chess moves to Liz who based on things for career interest students together in their classes [Music] and they become partner with me then was the partner disengaged and works hands on the students the shirts and they have been telling us but the students to the teachers need are you sure professional sat down with the teachers help develop the curriculum and all that materials for teachers and students if you look at the list of top ten employers Nashville the majority of tandem are asserting and having partners and SR do this yesterday and internships with Betsy their complexity jobs everyone experiences we have Essex Community are her career flourished fair when students coming to and having they select and program of study or backwards I will kind of major in college under student selects their Academy earring their tenth grade year of experiential learning they go on an industry-related new trip during the eleventh grade year they were some party anthem their match one to do the job chatter and then finally in their senior here they're going to do a senior capstone project where that would have exceeded research on that greater this is where the Academy team of teachers of math English social studies science and application teacher as a team in a shadow business turn some of those learn about how their academic standards are being applied in a real rule of business at the end of that experience that team reasons they will do calculated several things in their math lies to what we do every day anyway [Music] it's your partner to networking that a very close relationship with students to tutor and mentor nonspecific and street sounds in terms of this hunger hand comes down [Music] so you know wasn't it watch that video probably twelve times and every time you get inspired you know that's obviously the ultimate way of transforming learning environments for kids it starts somewhere it starts with willingness and in terms of leadership and we have good leaders in place that are turning on passionate to bring that forward this community has to start demanding something different for where the kids in terms of having a vision behind learning and this is one of them and so you know we wanted to present tonight publicly to the board because you know there are industry partners out there that would be willing to help there are out there that would be willing to back a vision and so you want to start putting the vision out to focus and start to move in this direction and it could probably really disturb with some baby steps with some things in house by expanding our CNA by looking at of course whenever you have it start to move in that direction that again may be the ultimate dream but it starts with some baby steps in that direction so we just want to plant that that thought and this vision well if they can't dream you can't succeeded right so the board you know we said at Nina's meeting and they had a group asking you about curriculum but the point I was trying to make is that the board level you have the custodian without the general idea of where you wanna gulfs and what I've asked for this year's we're looking at a funding system that's going to help us do this we're gonna drive to go you so as I'm talking to folks in Greece they're doing their research onto our mind we got to figure out honestly what do it's not what can we afford to do is what we have to stop doing that's not succeeding for a kid there are things that we're doing because we do it each year and we should really look at those and say if it's really paying off in terms of it accountabilities our kids really succeeded all kids not just a level get your her to say that there are 50 kids experiencing something we want to take you that all the kids to it you we could do that if we can step up we have an equity policy I said it last year you guys want to go down that road it's gonna impact your work this is an action plan is an equity plan there's an access plan are you really gonna stand up and do something cuz you have to think hard decisions with me everybody can't have the same thing Danbury is on the if I have it at B school I needed C school well you can't do that and get here on the resources that we have which the money away for a reliable reliable she knows she's what we don't have to bunnies no carry you have 12 and a half million dollars twelve and a half million dollars whatever we want to stop doing and what do we want to do to get them because guys we gotta get here for our kids all of our kids all of them and I think we can do that with the right leadership I think we have that we have the motivation and we also have sources to get more funds into the school system if they're all aligned up to the right purposes that can't be going disparate ways they gotta wind up a leverage so I'm looking for what it is budgeting here to start this and there's a group going to go to Nashville I think a few brass hamer some town folks and cement board members see those good you know you guys go help me up here when you do it we'll do one of those skyping things right but we need to go down there and feel they want something to go from them the Chamber of Commerce PJ right and I'd love to take the implications beyond the classroom so we face issues that we have and you know a classroom doesn't have to look like a typical class with different high school there could be a classroom right downtown right next to the bank where kids are doing baking internships and receiving credit there are offloading 30 kids from the high school for space you know 30 classroom hearing at 30 30 30 you've just opened up space at different high school as well if you if you got kids on our rotation dollar road you really need there's a lot of creative ways and things that you can do to build over time to get into the community do internships and externships it's a different high schools in the normal sized school there's a tremendous amount of opportunity there in the program set by Derek phenomenal this is just an opportunity to expand on us or be happening and to use the community resources that we have so I just wanted to ask a first issue that equal do combine the data bishop and that may help others to the population the fact that we have children that are children of immigrants already have be better than interested in trading a clear pathway to a career I think that where this kind of takes us to the next level were 500 compare this Academy to protect program is that this is your clear pathway of using education throughout your life even in a trade position right so doesn't it doesn't meet the choice of you're gonna have a four-year college path where you're going to be trading it allows you to move that into a lifetime of conchita a great income and continue to do better for yourself that is just beautiful like I said this is my last formal board meeting but I am so excited for the direction that this is going and I love how this opens up the capacity for creativity in how we utilize our space and how we focus our budget with intention to really address the needs that they ultimately the problems are addressed during public comment section or about some of these issues this is the kind of stuff that's all set it's not just how do we put kids in school suspension this is the kind of stuff fishing for community so I'm so excited for the future for our district and I hope that you guys spread Boston is where every school national just taking a little whatever you have to do so that this happens so while we're on TV any business that wants to do blood donated to our trip we would appreciate it just very when I'm Linda I saw now Wow money sent though Jerry Lewis will be a few minutes very good thank you so much the Board of Education accept the October 2019 operating results analysis general funded grants in accordance with a 19-1 53 seconded by mr.
Brittain any discussion ready none all those in favor aye opposed stained or she carries pretend ministry point you must start with me guess I'm sorry so I'm just gonna read you some of the hello world summary the notes from the post visit so at the end of the nice visit last week the faculty were gathered and the the chairperson I'm just going to read aloud some of the most alien commendations and recommendations there's obviously going to be a very detailed report that will come out believe right now there was a draft report that excreted during the visit they'll be four to six weeks for the chair to edit that report and then the report will be shared there gasps ladies I'm Dan we'll get a copy of that for a fact checker just a fact entity maybe of January and at some point late spring the report you shared with me asked for their of you and then Deanna and her high school should get an accreditation status letter at some point and you know that short parts you but in June but what they did say they left us with some pretty words and support accommodations and then we'll be those to you system of the the stress work that had the school had a positive school climate and we just act by saying of the year this school has been mentioned before engaged in a year-long self-study teacher survey student surveys those very comprehensive the year and then plus the visit so they corroborated the data from the self-study the reports and the national visit itself they reported a very positive school climate they reported a safe and secure home for students creating a model for a widely diverse community they reported that the leadership team is affected and dedicated they reported and made a big deal about this the teachers find the students and students like the teachers that's worth a reported as instructional practices were before but formative assessments the teachers were clear students regarding what they need to do to be successful and to utilize school-wide rubrics differentiation was performed by data regardless of how large the class sizes were and multiple learning needs the staff care deeply and are very committed and that teachers get supplies creatively they purchased or they dreaming yes so and so some of the recommendations the broader recommendations that are clear need to have adequate structural supplies lower case loads for school counselors smaller class sizes a wireless network that works access to more technology and facilities working heating cooling and restrooms again there they also detailed some some areas under each of the categories of the assessed but later dates are far more detailed for this the storm will be attracted thank you and what the superintendent is looking at listening to an issue or something so I'm going to state Brian you be your discussion how are you good where you guys but I can't get up there what we thought you were we thought you were busy I'm here now so he's loving this there you go thank you very much it's all [Music] session there will be a short session starts the first Wednesday February during short sessions they are all the TV bills so we need a little bit easier to track what is massive it's too cold through so when you see our reports kind may be a little easier to follow the process along its in hyperspeed committee bills go through much quicker session has much greater so communication gonna add a little bit more rapidly so that's kind of the really broad brushstroke on what we're getting into 20/20 you've seen the legislative agenda draft we're going to use this kind of as a guidepost not necessarily something that's you know set in stone all come passing but you know knowing that these issues are very important issue I've already issues we're gonna use it to inform how we look at those that are coming to inform our conversations with your delegation chairs the education appropriations communities to the extent they open up conversations Genda we also have concurrently have a conversation on space just here last week those conversations so so we'll continue to have those in parallel paths so it might be less of a legislative issue or an administrative issue with the Department of Education and the governor's office as it relates to changes in school use and you know schools for state projects or things of all a conversation will have medical you know kind of contacts for all of those engaged so if there's any questions on that agenda happy to answer them there's any suggestions or additions you take those as well you know how to reach me and I know that there's an incoming prove of or never sitting so come back any closer to the start session to kind of be educated it was folks on the process the two pieces and not going to do a good opportunity to come back and talk about Dan very day which you know how to date specific yeah but it's certainly really important for workers and community partners if I'm going to talk to legislators to have that understanding you it's the American education system it's also a good way you guys have see what we all do up there they're in session and there's also those awards that we help give up it's almost eight members as part of that I think so so all our background when we said they always looking for new ideas they did a more successful event you know certainly all the things that I've heard us bar meeting today so today the capital and then puck hearings we've had some pretty good responses as we've been engaged with you guys it's a public hearing and testimony coming up and testify like I would encourage you guys to consider doing that as issues come up we'll all communicate in real time when public hearings happen on the agenda does have it pretty quickly the agenda that's little spot would really encourage you to to come up and talk to legislators and be part of the process because they hear from us a lot we're always chasing around but it's more impactful to you directly from from you and from parents and teachers times so that's my message I'll stick to it any questions or these questions just if you hear anything about a bunch of going forward with you should yes not gonna follow no no reopen errs at this point they're they're running a small deficit now I think we'll have a better education as the income tax returns start coming in whether or not that do deficit negation at this point looks like you know pretty good shape and this because it's a short session and not a budget year unlikely those things are issues certain that topics about tremendous amount of substance budget cetera good to be the period bless the bottom drops out of who can tax the largest portion of revenue for the state I don't suspect that we're going to be in there you know trying to protect what's already the budget at least four different schools oh it had to get I had a different she has good impact us a short term is a space so I know you working with the city to get some language to get their legislators yep so he's on the last twenty committee meeting with her softest try to find the language necessary to be a potential legislative change but I think our recognition is to try to go directly through the administration's thank you so much I mean Thanksgiving superintendents report our tip City Council nurses registration process Kevin once you give it there so you just say talk about the rich Trish she's so good news everyone no surprise this summer we had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of new students and families at our district frankly we were not resource in order to be knighted capacity to meet the needs of all of those families and turn around those reservation requests in time for kids to be ready for school told us school year my understand is sitting online registration for a couple of years now and look into it it's the district has recently incident to a really powerful on my administration some of our neighboring districts already have online registration and we're going to find that will be more we will be more efficient as an organization either turn around these requests in these requests a lot quicker than we have past years we are looking to launch online registrations that word is 20/20 and as we speak our data department is working with power school to eat is very good ID so the new registries which would be generally the pilots are strategic so on October 24th last month a community should teach you plan update so the initial community members that informed a portion of the radical addition stated mission statement we circled back with that group and presented the strategic plans that group for last-minute feedback we had multiple stakeholders in the room many of the same representatives that were part of that initial day in addition we've also my students number of those students were here this evening we had what we called expert groups so we had to move up a student table of five or six students parents at five six parents community members teachers and administrators and everyone in the worst it was charged with responding to questions specifically around our strategic plan and see if we landed on the right strategies and action steps to realize the vision admission frankly it was a really powerful day students and really passionate feedback for us to help move the district forward given the change in makeup of the board we would like to ask this evening to present this plan after the new board as given feedback where mediation efficacy October a plastic [Music] let me spend a minute here or three minutes in front of you this is the allocation that we'd be safe in the city terms of so on top things we've done there right so you know does that mean yes the three buses we've been talking about the lawsuits over at park and go ahead and say it will find them there in network markets and then we also have a bilingual teacher over at Rogers Park the high school are those overloads where you know did you decide you can't find it teach you come in and teach one science and my math but that's also the right that's what we have to add to put students in classrooms so you could see that total what's nastier is it son were paying teachers over to an extra section and then the furniture 15 now this is anticipate the toilet program is a program where we have kids we've worked in last three years as we ought to be finding out the mission graduation plans and online for graduation so we invite them in what we call the twilight program so that's about 25 and those are increasing a little bit 10 grand more we thought because we have much more many more students that our deficit of graduation requirements so it will be on that way to graduation in that's not key that should be help there you saw out there that meaning there's justification that help is no requirement and we're looking to have those segments semester every slice is 35,000 you remember the budget when photogate we put seventy thousand for a full year this is just taking that planning for second semester so they'll be either in health or in the art they're going through the artists see where we could best service news again we have the bilingual to a high school to accommodate the students who have come and have to be program we also have a nice hole that they had and we had they had one more bus now it says the anticipated was reversed on second semester so we go get another bus Soto a lot of this would be for us that we have had in special education and it'll be about 600,000 this was started on a spring mister in transition and says he won't make that up be more specific yes and that's what Drogo what that means we're not going to get that money in essence as we spend down then they will pay that bill passed mine on top is an actual obligation so an increase cost when you look at that is today see what made 250 you know 250 but we need to service the students I can't walk away from them so we're going to try to go to our tag line and see if we can accommodate the 90,000 models and not just do those basics that you see up above now what you see on the bottom of the unfunded things as kids coming into classrooms we have the pollution of oppression libraries we have services that we have to increase because of adventure groups class sizes have gone up so the vision has been had we have to school during the school time that we've just had to squeeze out and all the need for social services and emotional support I think it hurt you at the council meeting request of us all we're going to add counselors and social workers we need to really can in the allocation it was just what happened resources one of recommendations you're gonna hear from the ask is that you need more councils at high school but in truth we need more support services at the elementary but this is where the money is going explicitly and but as you see the budget going forward next year the interesting part this is not part of your allocation this is over and above the money you received from the city so as we move forward this is how to be the assignment that's what I keep saying you can't revisit all of this this would be part of it and as we go forward but this is where we're going to this is where we will be spending money is basically my staff a little bit of furniture basically servicing our students education but a few of those students are attitudes I'm seeing are those wish to announce those students every buyer [Music] thank you by the way this is where I'll say copy this is in a tomorrow that's where that money is going so the hamburger is the same as it wasn't last word meaning there have been any changes yet really just finishes tell Janet this is a little bit a still a work in progress we have surveyed and talk to me deters be presented as and counsel I talked to Aaron about it quite a bit and where some of the things that she would like to see hurt in there on the TV apiece and Melinda is still here just so there's the fourth day problem entry is is in this version just so that you know it isn't here and then you still have the three days for conferences for the middle school well so with their union Christa silly who's the President of the Union Awesome mystical presence of the three days consultation was was adequate but you definitely heard from the jury that the fourth is what's needed mediator penny in here so this is a little bit of working progress and the other thing we want to do is the work of our species around the placement of conferences and conference read both in the fall and then identify the district-wide conference conference week in the squirm step parents are aware that there's an option for a conference but for the most part the counter will generally stay the same Monday we'll discuss a little bit more about about the calendar in the chair so what is is there one of the challenges to transforming the 22nd into a half-day so one of the one of the things that we tried to do you'll notice that from the last year actually this current is counter to this year you know 11 early release days and we have had some complaints about the number of early release days and the impact on parents and so we tried to reduce the number of early release days to the greatest extent possible so we're 11 to 6 and we're also trying to stay away from the beginning of school in terms of destruction so I'm not having kids they're just getting here getting some time getting them on schedule particular theater level and make sure there's not a lot of disruption to that calendar and we already have some of the destructions in faculty to holidays so we've tried to stay away from the first 5 or 6 weeks of school adding any additional release time periods in there so it's really about you know it's a lot of different opinions about the way that the teacher sign the ministry of science there's a lot a lot to wait we did do our best to minimize our destruction okay program so Kevin I have been working with Savi regarding Kenneth registration information on our military families so he is interested in our proposed development without before in the last session and as hopeful as we look forward in the future on getting additional training resources for children of military families so what we agreed is the pilot program he has offered to come in and train all of our people services staff to better educate them on some of the supports that are available to military families on so that if a family is in need that they will have a greater Bank of resources to help connect families and our Florida and we're looking to do that for a part of about half of our main today and so people come in along with some of his staff to give further professional development ah Qun addition we are look Carly I'm so passionate on our registration form but we will also be working with a registration process as we go to read out for other reasons to make sure that I was a focus and they try to the additional information from families to make sure though they're completing 9000 is indicating yes or no which would allow us to create families in the district who benefit from these resources and then we're starting to strategize on how we will get information for our currently enrolled students so students that were enrolled eighty ten years ago this question wasn't on our people work Spencer have families or to do another method to kind of collect additional that on are currently enrolled students to capture some of the natural resources when we asked Tom he's about five to ten percent of our families potential about that from this resource and I think while people services Stafford of new training out of why the resources for our families traditionally have Delta to our level so it's a good way to strengthen their toolbox and although the program that a pilot itself is positive it's not it would cost us any money it's certainly gonna cost at least PPS that time so I just want to thank you but our takeaway immediately at the meeting with mom was it just makes sense nice the next obviously resources available ok for chair persons report annual meeting December 4 at 5:30 p.m.
on personal note I just want to let everybody know that has been a truly an honor working with all of you and I appreciate it I guess my last meeting over here you sit over there next to Melinda you know Rome it's not back this way I wish all of you the best going forward those of you who were re-elected and the rest of us who are moving on to other stuff thank you so much it was wonderful working with the administration and the staff and the teachers and CEOs and just a wonderful experience it's been a great four years and I so appreciated everybody and all of the sage advice that I received along the way um it's quite a lure to get the hardest job I never got paid for I can tell you that right now this is a difficult job alphabet backpack but it is a rewarding job it's it's a very nice job and I can't tell having kids in the schools and it's just it's a wonderful experience it's nice to see how the other side of networks and and teachers and staff and the administration and Academy everybody works so hard here and it's a it's a great School District overcoming tremendous adversity along the way we have anything else you're gonna read it it's just us just family enough that dear mourners Septimus rather have the members and the Schrader's teachers staff parents and students there are a few burning thoughts I like to share with you today my last meeting of the seated member about two years ago after running through this world in 2015 and 2017 unsuccessfully my appointment under extremely political circumstances I said the other side of this table and listened as leaders in our community some elected officials today others of the past shared through the public comment session to disapproval of my appointment to the board I listened for a while they even some members of the board Democrats Republicans alike agreed I hoped my contribution separately wrong that I personally experiences the form of free reduced lunch kids ESL student our district a special needs parent and reveal a trilingual notification our community vice president of the foundation aim to help American families and as a business owner I've provided a different perspective with so many issues discussed evasive impressions for all of us as a father I won't believe of shining light on our digital signs of students as we're not a papist for home buying there being a majority of our student population the importance of early childhood education programs where the early intervention of our students make their possibilities endless the importance of our continuing education program where Jesus or their lack of education are possible regardless of your past I believe all three need to be emotionally part of our folks to the board do you maintain you know the word elf so completely other words I'm a little there's a temporary period around member and I here's a nice agree it's a little very much open but not necessarily as a constant force coming from do beautiful board members so through the very structure that were custody partitions candidates face Coulibaly or the implants our political future rather than a candidate with interests in our educational system or evaluates expertise that you powerful those who successfully get elected and happens to have a natural desire to serve our district cannot always or easily completely wash away the stains with the election process we feel good losing does not believe me I know both sides and months planning out every flaw on each other and that's not easily forgotten for you to cycle a period without elections followed by elections in other words very attention miss Callie a misunderstood actions a devil time another period of home where it's indeed all about the children dead followed by a period attention so my hope my party wish for each of my colleagues said a man on the board said although you are elected think as if you were queen when in fact your work but not highest authority in our city its orders point worth of Education like Philadelphia for example insurer presentation that reflects the student population you can wear swear word communities there he actual part about their place in the political structure expertise from the business community to create curriculum that will generate students register most of the job use in our community in the world then there will be wisdom from retired teachers who give us insight into curriculum implementation have a great time data now parents will also have a voice throughout the process you know courtesy of the table and have students can be a part of decisions the most just like the structure in our State Board of Education is but if our current local structure can ensure another presentation it doesn't mean that you can't see doesn't work better as you research deeper to the issues before you you can't bring them in recitation in embedded in your decisions well began for me is a curse to the neck negative reactions like way begin blessing and waivers have been appointed and all that came with it but it allowed me to serve this board free from blue agenda said earlier my desire to give back to the district that literally had given you a voice and talk to speak this language and to those who have pain they said that might even the board give us first hand life experiences are not required to care for it and understand the rights and needs of our students and families are most in need each of you have the power to fill one role because you need to raise questions and see how your decisions affect them to keep doing that reservations and go be with our community at their events they might just return the favor and also we're getting there too remember you're charged with responsibility to hiring evaluators lieutenant approved budget spending priorities through textbooks curriculum adopt annual school calendars make decisions very opening and closing schools we're closing the school district leaders of school supplies safety discipline classroom resources facilities and other issues there are lateral revised mission statement and our new every policy prepared item a compact as you navigate the challenges you face in future I think all of you putting on to serve with you dr.
