Borel and it was in a way that I think it should answer any questions people have because it was very clearly and I appreciate it thank you yeah I mean I think the big thing the community has to understand we have to think about is because of this situation in order to have a smaller percent increase it would be we would have to reduce current program reduce current staff we'd have to majorly cut what we're currently offering it would be devastating if we would make up this whole thing and keep it in line with the increases we've had over the last couple of years any other discussion with a budget I think that's what's wrong big looks like we progress band but when you compare to actual expenses for this year it's really you make a condo the problem we have is and there's some contingency on the town side that can be used to cover that but the tax rate for this year it's based on the budgets right so it's a real increase right I mean what we'll end up doing I can see what's gonna happen is we're gonna end up squeezing things out of this year's budget in other line items we don't know exactly where yet they'll squeeze some things out and some of those most of those will have to be still funded for next year because it's a short-term solution to the current year problem so that the real increase it I mean a contingency aside there's a real increase in spending which is a real tax rate increase for our for our population so you can't just dismiss that homeowners and business owners are gonna readily say yeah go ahead spend the money right there they're looking to us to say okay so you've got a million dollar problem that's shown up right where can we find opportunities maybe I'm going to say sacrilegious things maybe we have to reinstitute pay for blight I'd hate to do that I mean I hard to get rid of that but you know what I'm gonna put it on the table if that's something we need to do to get a couple hundred K right to was about a hundred and fifty 60 photos closer to 150 origin yeah in any case yeah they're gonna look to us as a board to say how would we exercise this you know what are the sacred cows we put on the table and discussed before we bring it forward right and we haven't done that yet right we've had we've all kind of absorbed this between us guys I think we need to talk about what are not we might all say no no no no no but we have to at least have discussed them and and talked about what is the implication of taking actions that would contain a touch dangerous and that's just me saying do our job it's not me advocating to do any of them yeah rich but I don't know what they are so I'm I'm thinking our next meeting that we would be wise to say what would be the sacred good like we did in the summer right what would be a half a percent what would be a 1% would be one and a half percent and how bad is it how bad is it right that's the question that you have so that we can understand what we're voting on right and then we vote right and we all might say no I'm not going to do that no I'm not gonna we kind of went there to summon right everybody said we don't want to do that not in that we took the easy low-hanging fruit but we didn't go down in to losing teachers in the classroom right but I think we have some that would be what I would say to all of us as we ought to ask you to come back and say what are the what's a half a percent what's a 1% type of spending reduction of what does that mean what are the implications of that yeah that's me I think we need to exercise that but I also think we need to look at what is the best for our schools for students for our district because that is really what we're bringing forward to the town I agree I I'm not advocating to our job do you have to have it or what's the right thing for our students exactly right there's no doubt we do have to have the responsibility to look at and say is this the most you know fiscally responsible one but ultimately we have to Kait for what is best for our students I would also say we ought to bring in a couple of the items which we ought to decide what they are where there was some concern on our part that maybe we didn't do enough right do we need another yellow teacher do we need another we need a contingency for kindergarten right do we need to do we need to do anything around Paris I mean so there's some upside risks and there's some downside risks and then in balance we can say what are we recommending as a as a committee advocating for our students so and I know there have been discussed areas a concern prior to this for things that were not in the budget and that's what you're alluding to right now correct about yeah I mean we talked about it at the last meeting there were some things that some of us around the table say all the way image is to PLL's enough I was having the same reaction giving a hundred kids out there right and so we also look at I'm not advocating adding any more than I'm advocating removing it to understand the implications of yeah and we as administrative team what we would need direction from the board what are some item or areas we need to look as well considering timing as you as you articulated Colette and you know where we're going to put our energy and time in the coming week you know we need a framework we need ideas we need particular programs are interested in having a look if they will reduce what that what does that mean we need that direction so we can we can come back you know with a couple of sheets of paper or a memo or a PowerPoint and walk through some areas to give people some ideas of the implications not only the cost savings but then and obviously the implications yeah which is exactly what we did in the summer you know we get what does this mean to students got this what does it mean that's what we have to do and again I will stress this as we did before these are not efficiencies that would be finding this would be a cost-benefit analysis that in order to get or keep that they were going to actually be losing programming or you know it will not come without a cost yeah I mean you know there's the impact you might say John take a look at increasing class size one student beyond the range K through eight what is what kind of reduction can we get out of that I don't think anybody wants to do that that may be an exercise you want us so if you have ideas we're gonna need those because we need to you know prepare for for next next meeting so Andy issue share with us we're happy to take that direction anyone have any ideas right now I would I would first thing on my list would be administrative staff in the offices in the schools okay right I mean do we have too many is it the red we reduce a administrative position in some of the schools they don't that's almost rate of like administrators or administrative like Clarkson secretaries without with clerks no secretaries but I would then I wouldn't write it to that sure might if you think that there's an opportunity given our class sizes of reducing to have fewer administrator or we ought to think about that so I would go after administration would be the first thing I don't look at that would be me because it doesn't snot custume they sure it's it's more about the operations of the school we're already reducing one custodian in the proposal I don't know that we want to go any further in Saudia larrya I wouldn't go after that area this is a tough one this is tough okay because of anything we have over this past couple of years exercise I think all the efficiencies have put out of it well we are actually under the range under the midpoint of the range for class sizes in almost every grade what if we ran at the top end of the range and here again I have a very visceral reaction to that Bob because I really think that we're going in the wrong direction here I mean we are trying to do you know we are trying to achieve excellence and I know we have this 6.4% that we're doing it with I say we if we do that we we are going down a path that's going to take years to self correct okay come up with your ideas then no because I'm serious I mean with 6.4% it's not going to sell in Peoria no it's not so we have to find a way to have exercise ourselves to say that we have absolute strength and conviction that would look at every option and discarded it so you're saying just take a look at it we need to look at it in order to be able to say that's something we as a warm want to do or right we may all say I discard it but if you don't want to look at it I'm okay but we have a hard sell here let's let's be real and and the bottom line is it's up to the voters we we can put whatever we we are recommending in the budget and we know that we're doing the best things for the students and the teachers and that's what we're here for but again our our budget that we prevent is just recommended to the taxpayers and it's really up to them to vote well I won't get past the Board of Selectmen on the horn finance no it won't and that's why I said I'm bothered by the number but I don't have a solution but I would be amiss if I did not say six point four is not going to go guys know that Buster's her are appropriately we get further uh get bus routes yeah a little further on try again in Pakistan state law you do have to provide opportunity for transportations whether they take advantage of it or not doesn't matter all right people I know that doesn't mean we possibly can't find one or two less buses perhaps you know across all four schools for a you tell you in my former district but I don't want to say that out loud cuz I'm off here let's save mr.

closely and dig it out and might not be able to almost say it again while he's looking here's of the other area I would ask you is there any what what we've heard from dr. Cipolla is that we have an increase right now with a special that cost us to stay with us next year but it will then start to have a slow and steady decline so the next question I would ask is there any bubble spending that I think that we can push off to not do at the same time repeat that would be another area I would ask you to think about okay that projects right things that says look I'm I want to do this but maybe I could do it a year later okay I'd like to do post pilot that's peaking host ponen to offset especially it's a post home so that when you come down you you felt that's when you do that okay so that would be an area general area I don't know how to articulate how more than that that would be an area I would think about sadly that sometimes that gets into areas of curriculum right like that which I know what we already come on last year put that off last year exactly plus the bus is a bit less than $63,000 63,000 for one bus run for a year so one bus a couple one or two bus runs this substantial people or they're either go an offsetting while setting postponement versus the increase in trade especially right now that's a little peek at the say about something we're looking at joy did you so could you break down so our curriculum specialists or department chairs so we have curriculum specialist cake for her reading in a math as well separate cook when specialist k4 man correct so we have what do we have the middle school level we have a curriculum specialist at the middle school as well correct those three total teacher level curriculum specialists so that covers so middle school five through eight that covers all content areas we actually reorganized it last year but I love that groovy so we have two math teachers one that's five six and one at seven eight that have a stipend to do math coaching so they teach and they coach so that be looked at at the elementary level I know a lot of districts do that instead of having a full-time ela curriculum specialist kata for can it be a teacher that's contracted out to do we're happy [Music] Judy's at home special I'll adjust in in all transparency say that the needs are so great that I don't think that we're ready for that at this point in time I think it would really set us back both ears and where we need to be considering yes practices that doesn't mean incorrectly as part of our comebacks for you that you know we don't take a look at Yelp at the administration pad or someone to do both instruction right so that's a heavy job to want to do la and math across the floor yeah I think and then we can look but I just personally think that it was really negatively impact the work they were doing what we did do the change that we did make was to because the cost of PD and we need to develop expertise instead of having one person via a jack-of-all-trades we and have one curriculum specialist at center and one at huckleberry doing everything we and with our strategic coherence plan with vertical alignment we went to switching up and having them focus across the great bands in the disciplines we did that this year and it seems to be working we've we've actually learned a lot of things by having one person people sort being in both schools oh we can look at it it's an area we will look at it was just another thing for you to know is that those two positions are also doing a lot of the on-the-ground work with the curriculum writing and with the teachers that are being trained and that we talked about just you know what reigniting a fire for some of our veteran teachers in this curriculum work and so forth so you know it's uh yeah I hate to lose yeah we don't want to lose any really what's nice is we talked about is faculty starting to really see the big picture you know it takes time to change in to build that and to see that vision now feeling it and so boy you don't want definitely an area we need to look [Music] maybe we should just look at what are the negative consequences of not having another science teacher we decided to hold that off for a year look let us know what kids what time and I can't and just so you know for the public for the board when we're budgeting including benefits and salary we average cost the teacher knowledge for our figuring just so you know just an estimate we use and it's also for what we need to say you're tired it's not a budget as well use that base over I'm wondering I personally heard that from some parents that they do before we study [Music] be supportive of shifting star times before we do a study you know we could do studying by that we should ship sorry times [Music] yeah manage that so maybe maybe that's an idea to do email study or sub cutting a survey something to see first I mean I thought tonight about your on table we'd get the community coming so disappointed that people didn't come but honestly we've gotten bless me so many maybe that's an area working better before we [Music] and this that was off while you're peeking on social edge you know pilots on the stop of what you're already dealing with you see that you know that Ted off Santa that was you that was fast as wide as it was at end of it he was no more but Wow talk about the impacts pushing back start time is equivalent to decreasing two to three students per class as far as achievement differentially gets the it's amazing yeah they said for a team it's the hard times at like 7:00 to set up 30 range it's the equivalent adults getting off at 4:00 in the morning I think she said think about think about what we're just given the nature of the physiology of a teenager and think about all of the form of mourning and how this or what we feel as [Music] I understand it's all about I understand you know given the budget priorities would that be popular for us [Music] you've got any other responsibilities Oh I mean the one thing we can do and I shudder frankly to actually see any how loud because what it turns into is this is what the board is doing this is what super rather than say anything specific frankly I think you know for this exercise we need to look at mandates versus valued programs and I'm going to use this as an example and it's not anything we're planning to do think of the cost and I'm not suggesting we do this at all not suggesting we do this at all but when we were going through the ECS exercise we were very unclear what the funding was going to be for the state some of my colleagues had put letters out to their communities and it was it helped rally the troops and parents came out and it was it was a tactic for that frankly I didn't want to go down that road of tactics but talking about full-day kindergarten versus half a yard think of the cost and implications that do that at wall we set ourselves backwards with all of those advantages of things we have but I mean it's not a mandate that we have all the annular so I mean that's one example of mandate versus something that we want happy versus wanted versus is support to do value should again that's not a proposal that's not something we're doing that's not something I'm suggesting but just for the exercise in this conversation many versus again we do oh gosh there's a lot of things I just think about what you mentioned in the last meeting the fact that they took physical education we have two credits of physical education at the high school the mayonnaise one credit of his qualification again we value that so what does the total field along well it's the board want to recommend you know wanna be D in these very difficult issues that's why I'm thinking of it it's a big meeting trunk looking and you know our programs in you you know our specialists classes at the elementary school I mentioned it before about it again nothing I'm suggesting but we look at the volume the amount of world language the elementary school the amount of music we're seeing in the amount of our examine that see last of that series of the money it's good quality experience for the kids at all we reduce it but again for this exercise we have to be transparent talk about you know we really look at everything comfortable landing in the end I think it's an important that we board are comfortable we may just start all the ideas but not exercised it would be a problem well we think we need to just clearly delineate the the exact costs because my fear is that we're just creating lists that someone is of course and did imagine or a shopping list if you will so we really do have to be clear this is an exercise we're doing to see what we can do to make sure that everything is is this tight as we can make it sure however all this does come with a cost I'm Jen so you know we're perfectly willing to go back and work on a number of these things we written down what you talked about night you certainly anybody has suggestions happened to me an email on area look at have you happy to do that over the next couple weeks and come back with a moral a memo that clearly says these are here is that aren't necessarily have to so they're highly value programs and it was back if we didn't fund them but here's the cost we can put that together for the next couple of days so please think on us think that's now so that they have time to put something together at the seventeenth we can take a look and just go through our just go on see what it's like compared to to what we have in front of us in addition to I'm going to converse side as I mentioned in addition to things that that we would like to see in there that were in there does anyone have any suggestions as to what they want to put it for there we are walk it sound like we hold an opportunity yeah teacher teacher would be the one I from just your presentation a teacher said a word for financial reasons before walking too slowly we have to really feel I did see the state and requested a budget Miami transfer in our grant and so we did hire a part-time Hara to support Kevin in the work that is being them of students or sus learning English and we are interviewing people to replace the diesel teacher who loved the desert and it's important to rear and we talked about as you mentioned too that the PD had teachers get and the strategies that are taught are good for all students so they're getting that also in a general ed classroom yes that's that's important I mean the the state puts out a lot of documents and some more valuable than others and the document that has the standards for English language learner is excellent and it has strategies and supports for English learners at different levels from one to five and if you go to the three it's the sweet spot anything that's for a level three English Learner is good for the English speaker so joy is absolutely correct when we support teachers to support English learners we're supporting them to support everybody and I know it was a lot of question over the last couple of meetings in regards to community feel comfortable at this point based on video data that doctor really provided in regards to the kid reducing kid in there are sessions next year where does that also something we want I will take a look at I would have the very least like one Halloween contingency for kindergarten I think there's a little more wiggle room the first grade but I would be in favor of keeping it over the same but at the very least the does anyone have a sense similar to the question Bob that you asked me a sense of you know where mr.

Dunn might be and where that we're kind of money they might be able to help us out with with this special abilities does anybody have a sense with all of this additional cost that we're asking for this year and in a large request going forward for 1819 do we have any sense that the finest would be willing once again to hold a value thousand dollars in contingency as they did for this year in case we need that additional can you guarantee sure yeah I know it's a long way off for them it's a big trade-off between what's happening in the cash base sure right the tax base is rolling right they won't move if a tax base isn't growing they're going to be under the gun because the governor the state government states declare that are lowering it next year the amount of the funding we're getting so we know that there's normal inflationary increases on calcite similar to what we have on the school side and I don't I don't see where we are 6 plus percent spending increase which is more like three with a contingency something like that but even with that I don't know how the car house contingency last say I'm a big tax rate increase they find that how in the third week of January right so they will know a lot more when the tax assessor finishes the grandmas or October ran list from the slab October they've done it that one for a whole certification a review process and they don't release that to the border finest unit of the first selectmen until they've gotten their certification counted that usually lasts half a day in work so well know how that's looking when we get to early february sharing last year they helped their yeah to be priceless because of the rebound right so that's why I'm gonna pull the room with roses ahead of em I think it's really important you know my recommendation is my recognition you know I stand by that but he's really important too we can't have contingencies on the Board of Education the town would have a hold us so he's important to root out of what occurs to request that one-time ops whatever you know going through that a little bit I was with a report that she was sentient and going back to the broom report and seen what the differences were and it's an amazing that they were off by 17 for the kindergarten class but only 8 for the first grade class trying to figure out where that was and what made a difference and it led me to something that I had thought about before because this year's the first year that we initiated full-time can turn all five days because before that we were always dismissed early in on Mondays and I'm wondering if we might have gotten an increase there because of working parents who finally had a consistent schedule look senator if we could even against that granular because I would help dr.

Salem if she's aware of you know you said that specifically to her I don't know dr. sounded and any parents when they register their kindergartners report to you as you can recall humanity that they were registering their child for kindergarten with us at senator school because our Monday was now a fold in his school this year for the kid another child as opposed to the early release it had been [Music] you know but no one out came out right and said I now I wasn't going to register but now I am okay thank you anecdotally sitting Joes and walnut in kindergarten decline somewhere some connections into that school and they they're not sure why that happened to you but I would it be also positive they were connected yes yeah ok so I think we have do you have some cost of those non-mandated high-value areas you know in other perhaps TV program Terry's they don't necessarily hideout you in the fact that the public always articulates how wonderful they are but we'll bring that back evokes and yeah I will repeat this is an exercise for us to understand the depth of our budget and you may bring a list of items that we may all say no no no right about that support Frosty's chairs oh yeah and I think that's gonna be our challenge when we get together as we go through that to form an opinion that's acceptable or that not so if you just help the community understand what are the risks and rewards of completely that's good to have a couple of applauses this doesn't care to hear absolutely okay well I think we have our waitress due two weeks any other but on it going forward okay so then that brings us to company events on Friday January 12 is PLC day early dismissal and Monday January 13th no school for our learning today okay so that's it without objection these urns thank you everyone good evening stay dry tomorrow happy snow day [Music]

[Music] the scene is Henry Cabot Lodge field house in Beverly Massachusetts the match up is Beverly Hosting Danvers Alex Lugo joint by Tom Donovan on the Bev cam Sports Network in Tom I feel like I haven't seen you since last year I know you haven't seen me since last year exactly are you doing Alice doing well how's your new year good good good good so we haven't been in action for quite a while Beverly trying to invent avenge a loss in their last match up against Tewksbury they won the previous five games before that but what happened in that six for a game that you went to well I was there that night and if I wasn't there I'll tell you one thing that I love about this belly team is I I don't think they're gonna get out work the hall hustle they did that night I talked to some of the kids on the team tonight they totally agree Tewksbury I think Beverly plays Tewksbury ten times they beat them seven eight eight times yeah but that night I'll tell you just we just wanted a little bit more and I told the kids sometimes out of bad comes good it's a little wake-up call in the long run they're gonna be fine Alex I really believe that and also I'm I'm sorry to announce that the BHS basketball family I lost one of its own recently about a month ago Dave Evans with Cogswell passed away dave was a captain with once the flies back in the 1974 basketball team great kid it was sudden very well then he left four great kids all his son Paxton as Ellison Ryan his two daughters Ashley and Courtney and they having a celebration of life for David are we logged on the Union Club which is January 13th from five to ten upstairs so anybody healthy from a basketball family especially Dave you're more than welcome to come down love to see it be a nice time celebrating his life so this Beverly team coming in avenging that loss against Tewksbury playing in Owen five danvers team not used to seeing Denver's teams start the gate on five but this team has what are you expecting out of this Beverly team to really regain their composure after a loss well you know again you can't take you don't take any way for Greenland but speaking of DMUs Felix is close by Christensen and mighty Harrington and Kevin drizzling and Peeta spirals another great kid it's also coaching over there mighty and Chris both playfully hit Beverly and mighty started off at Bishop felon he came back to Beverly Crist out of here and went over the felon yeah they both had great college careers Chris score like 1400 1400 points up at Keene State after Marty I know went to cushion Academy went down play to the University of Tampa and I'll tell you just two super great kids and I'll tell you my T was one of the best cattle ever had a real hard worker yeah Marty eventually ended up being an assistant coach here under coach Lewis for years great two great kids against can't talk highly enough we're gonna get the starting lineups pretty soon but why don't we given to you a little bit early a little bit of a sneak peak for you on the Beverly side the guards to rein rotting in Abreu forward Moreland in the center will be Crowley on the Denver side we have white vallencourt ditomasso Weimer and Roberto and now coach you mentioned earlier before the program Dan versus without one of their best players to the rest of the season and they've actually lost two players for the season yeah but they go on you know life goes on and I'll tell you Chris and mighty one thing about them I'll tell you one thing with Dan was they'll work hard one of those they were loudly abuse crappers that's the way they both play the game so no lineups being introduced by the way it's worth noting that it's a snow day today for both both schools Beverly and Danvers and deciding to play this one out I'm kind of getting a signal for those of you who are home you nice warm house I don't blame you yeah it is cold out there so sit back kick back relax and we're getting ready to get on the way and rally in Weimer ends in the hands of Moreland he goes up quickly for - he'll get fouled so two quick free-throws coming from Moreland four seconds into the first quarter trying to catch who that follows on Alex the foul was on Roberto Rollins first free throw is good Everly coming into this game five and one second in the NEC North misses it but it's caught by de rain and he'll turn it over quickly Kyle white with the rebound for Danis that will be the man to man defense Abreu up top covering the mid-range jump not being attempted Moreland gets there quickly [Applause] literally with a lot of speed on this defensive end wheel defensive side we always walk on a 508 by Crowley shaking his head no not in my house as you would say how about de tomaso had no idea that was coming crawling with the length and we always talked about this Beverly lengthen the defensive side and it shows quickly here in Danvers first possession [Music] now then reset the clock on that I believe that's what the ref is over at the scores table yeah trying to I think they're gonna bring that back down to I think there's why about four seconds left three maybe if it changed to through year they change it to three Roberto's gonna inbound it for the Falcons they got three seconds get a shot off here trying to get it in passes up a three takes a long two off the mark actually gets the roll [Applause] Danvers out to a quick 2-1 lead rotting bringing it past half court to rein in the lane he'll take a shot no good rebound Falcons it's vallencourt Damus looked on the run Roberto over to vallencourt looking to go to the corner sends it back to Weimer double dribble thought that was a double dribble AI think they missed it white guarded by rotting Weimar fasten the look goes up another great defensive play by Crowley but he quickly turns it over and Weimar it goes up for two can't get it to go probably with the rebound transition is rotting yes by him slaughter Johnson goatee keypoint Matt Ronnie no one takes the lead 3-2 with the prize I stood over Holly already with two blocks in a steal to rein for free from the Carter got it quick transition steal from Crowley in the assist over to drain and another turnover Beverly I like the idea of elves going to press early dances we're struggling this year good move by Coach Cal kudos I think to put the press on early Moreland passes up a three he drives puts it up gets it to go all the way off with the foul I like that cause I'll agree with you Beverly still with that press well I tell you love the way this Mallen kick goes to the hoop dole they said last year these skid plates Bayless nice play by Ron you're not gonna out of bounds almost have a steal 5:58 left to go in the first Beverly leading 6 to 2 I think Bella has a good chance is just wearing this team down to cook Beverly's been playing like 89 kids Abreu with defense on top why Mert guarded by Moreland looking for somewhere to go [Applause] Crowley's had a good defensive game so far good defense there I can't get it to go Moreland the rebound he'll try to bring it to my pass by Moreland where you couldn't finish it and we're gonna get a jump ball it's gonna be Dimas ball nope Beverly ball excuse me it's good rebound there by Moreland and brought it up all the way himself a brave just couldn't finish under the hoop I'll tell you this kid Mullins doing a nice job on the boards - he's got enough I think he against Tewksbury here like five rebounds in the first quarter long he's got a good nose for the ball Moreland for three in the corner got it sneaking the mullen Beverly leading 9 to 2 falling with 4 points to lead all scorers 5:15 left to go in the first good defense by Luigi rebus : again a rebound fast as I had a little too much Toscani almost silly with my ball in just over to him too low Beverly still keeping this press on again another thing I like about Beverly Elsa's was the unselfishness is a very unselfishness team nice pass Weimer couldn't get it to go gets his own board he's gonna try to throw it back out to is a Beverly bench it's gonna be Beverly ball after that turnover the 92 ballgame with 453 to go in the first quarter that was getting they student body section here off for first note a yeah and all day yeah rotting to Moreland along to just off the mark rebounded by ditomasso ditomasso sounds like a nice name of a restaurant I'd go there oh oh you're gonna call block terrain trying to get one there Luigi de RINs first foul team second Kamara is gonna enter the game for rotting on the Beverly side and taking a seat for the Falcons is Weimer terrain up top you just caught off the plate do can dinos damaged wall mom says the Duke be teased and mighty hammering from the bottom Rowley well it'll take it himself off the glass no good it will hide tough shot to make with you right here and coming from left Beverly team doing good in transition is Moreland creates a steal yeah Abreu ends up with it four minutes left on the clock in the first quarter long three from Duran got its ran from downtown EE Farms 12 to lead terrain with six on that deep free to extend the Beverly lead to ten 3:45 left in the first three from the Falcons all good Roberto while 5-game a brave we call travel gucoff muchif look at that first step and Myka Davies will see his first action as Crowley will take a seat probably no points but two rebounds and assists two blocks and two steals in less than a quarter of play on their nice shot ditomasso he looks like a player for the second win Kamara - Davies he'll take a three off the mark offensive board Moreland can he get it to go he got a nice bang shot Moreland a fluke six points three boards for the big fella Tommaso Danis book to press nice 14 9 Beverly lead as the fan section starts getting into it okay you know what Dimas is actually playing a boxing one in Iran that playing a two two zone Alice with a man on Durant rolling off the mark from three that's probably my T's calling it's not a bad idea you know he knows Luigi's shoot up although I think that was got too many other uses at one home pack and he blocked out one with his elbow number any boys s Connie so hidden corner it's Moreland he's taken a few threes tonight hasn't got one to go [Applause] it's coming the other way who almost sent away there by Davies but it's gonna be going on your regard we bomb 2:05 left to go in the first Beverly leading 14 to 9 to rein in Moreland with 6 apiece Moreland adding those 3 rebounds and on the Denver side it's ditomasso with six points for himself I believe that time out was by Damus apparently gonna make a substitution when they come back out there it's gonna be Mille Umba entering the game you'll be out there with rotting terrain Davies and camara early on it's been a little back and forth hey well we got a break in the action here quick congratulations have been good healed and his wife won the arrival of the ADATA Maggie Grace good you so congratulations and happy New Year to the good Hughes well we'll set the go back now come I was gonna take the ball out of bounds let's see if DMUs goes back to that box of wine Alex I think they got Roberto playing Duran man-to-man in the point of 2 2 zone I think probably got too many weapons for that but it's not a bad idea because it takes a team out of their rhythm they can't run that man and employees really can't run his own plays you got a free from rotting ill-advised shot from him Beverly getting a little three happy in this first quarter I felt was in the two-two-one press which I used to call the UCLA which is big Neal whomever Chabad days mallamma with the d coach woman was known for that two-to-one full-court press yeah but a white good D by camara its dribbled through my whole on Camaro so following come on okay that's gonna be his first teens third one forty two left to go into the first Danvers running a play underneath white in the corner looking to go down yeah but gets it thinks about a shot looking for ditomasso he gets it there white back to ya BA well yeah but from three up top got it to go llevas on the board with his first three and he cuts this Beverly lead down to two 1412 Dan was hanging around again Kamara frogs Warner no good offensive board rotting [Applause] mallamma almost loses it almost loses it again and he does finally lose it ball falcons alum but trying to get it back rotting is also there to help with d roberto over the white fifty seconds left to go in this first quarter yeah but now guarded by de rain Roberto trying to get loose not a lot of motion by this Danvers offense [Applause] yeah but driving couldn't get it to go maybe he was startled by the Beverly fan section but it's turned over and malama ends up with it now he's gonna go hard to the basket he got two nice move so in a broken play it Beverly ends up with two there extends the lead to four they lose draw foul malama his first ds4 fifteen point eight seconds ago in the first quarter Beverly up 16 to 12 shot clock turned off Roberto brings it past half court he'll drive kick it out to Yabba Yabba we'll take a three off the mark novel by chimera and yellow will shoot three compare his second foul in the first quarter 2/5 [Applause] 4.4 seconds ago in the first quarter it's gotta be called on the floor I below the thought he was filed shooting three Alex three seconds left Yabba he does just off the mark so at the end of one Beverley takes the 1612 lead into the second quarter against the Danvers Falcons to reign with six Moreland with six also on the danvers i de Tomaso leads them in scoring with six as well coach what did you see in that first quarter from danvers cuz they're keeping a close eye on five team you can't sleep on anybody know you know your team like teams doesn't want to game yet you come in loosey-goosey you play with the add to nothing to lose also Billy and amis has become a very very big rivalry in hockey basketball football baseball everything now it's a big right rivaling a quick trip around the city a quick hollow shell to red-hot DNA marriages Jaclyn Mari Roger Morenci my good pal Johnny P and coach Bala I know you guys are probably up there watching the game nice and warm I don't see Frank forty and Ava Wilson here they're probably home watching or Jack Dean let's save snuck in and I haven't seen them but the forest boys are here Ricky and Bobo forest and glory Ambrose Beverly sending out Davies Kamara mwamba rotting and Moreland [Applause] while Hitler was gonna get a little cold at all - oh it's all gonna freeze it's all gonna freeze for State Farm in here okay I wouldn't want to have my driving test tomorrow and bounding it will be vallencourt [Music] you have a past half court vallencourt looking for Weimer on the elbow and I get a phone call or I believe you kiss that phone waiting to see you it's on up on the scoreboard see they don't put the numbers out there do them they do they didn't this time but that figures well that's six on Beverly so Dallas is gonna be shooting the bonus one-on-one neck foul that foul was on balumbo that's the second vallencourt to yeba vallencourt again toe and air by a brave brave held scoreless so far tonight see how long that lasts Moreland comes away with it come the other way with a full head of steam spin move nice move by Moreland can't get it to drop I spin move 705 left to go turned over private Falcons actually was tipped by rotting will stay with the inverse ditomasso to inbound it [Applause] you ever using a pick gets it to vallencourt download a Wymer guarded by Davies and Davi sends them all back in Nice blog you know Alex one thing I know is watching that tooks play game last week the Nazis conference League seems to call the little small little things to slow touchy things with a Merrimack they let him play a little bit more and which I like to see them do it in this league a little bit more to past disrupted by rotting five seconds on the shot clock for the Falcons we just saw Ryan Bearer and Crowley re-enter the game two seconds for yeah but he doesn't realize that he's gonna have to take a long free and it's gonna be off the mark he didn't even realize there were three seconds on the shot clock I think this looked the third time he's had the ball in his hand when it's walking down like that - okay Duran is gonna come back in Ron's gonna take a seat ditomasso running that box and one on Duran Crowley [Applause] bear trying to get it to terrain cobalt for a travel yeah good call he dragged the foot good call Ryan and perhaps that box and Juan was a great idea for Danvers as terrain after six quick points in that first quarter after they switched to that box and one has been held scoreless it's been hard to get the ball into his hands well the thing about the ID Boston wanna any jump defense out help people with this step up and not pick it up a little bit Kyle white knocks down two threes on the board cuts the Beverly lead down to one Moreland download a Crowley guarded by Weimer off the Mart Crowley gets his own board he puts his elbow down misses again ball owns a nice fake three opportunities for the Panthers there they couldn't come away with points nice fake way you have up and then a nice move rollin with another board that's fun nice pass nice pass by Moreland error in for two bears on the board Marlin was first their second assist tonight go along with five boards and six points vallencourt trying to use those elbows on Moreland not working trying to get it down low terrain with good D gonna be last touched by white going the other way think of Luigi gave the rest a little help with that oh you get DMUs in the press here now the demons has now going back to a minim in oh no they're going back to the box of one they pick it up me in a hat and in the backcourt then dropping back to a two two zone Crowell the brutal playing they're in me and the man Crowley couldn't finish trying to get his own board he can't white comes up with it stutter step by Yabba on Abreu terrain gets faked out long to no good rebound Moreland another we buy more than ice pads good look I like to look though I'd like to look by berra again unselfish move rotting coming in for bear Alice what's Dimas is doing they're giving him like a man a man looked in the back court and then once they go over half court to going back to a 2-2 zone and they staying with the man the man roberto's Arnaud door and shoe up good wherewithal there by Crowley he's on the board his first two tonight he's got five boards [Applause] 22:15 Beverly 418 ago on the half ditomasso Roberto guarded by de rain almost taken away by Abreu durango and he's just gonna chuck it over crowley try and erase down there but nothing he could do with that terrain just took a three-step drop back and no I tried to be right no I did all that to four minutes left to go in the first half Emily's doing them in them in foul called on ditomasso I believe going the other way give me his first only the team second [Applause] rotting past half court [Applause] nice Warland who wouldnt get it to go Crowley with the board he'll get foul I guess that following seal that follows on we get probably shooting two pals gonna be on vallencourt is first this kid's gonna nice touch on the phone online now so like his touch if I had his touch I might be playing ball to only a sophomore the old Keith Jackson say he's only a sophomore Eamon Duncan golly second one is up and he's got it four points on the night for Crowley to go with six boards two steals and 2 blocks alright 22:15 Bell bees up 7 come up to three and a half minutes to go in the half in one action he's gonna be on the floor now he caught on the floor yet know who gonna be one in one regardless believe it's gonna be under rain it's gonna be his first Bell he's got 17 files now only two on Damus always on Durant that's gonna be his second vallencourt knocks down the first finally gets on the board for the Falcons he knocks and bolt down nothing but net and be in not the but net rodding brings it past half court raleigh comes up for the pick rotting thinking about taking it himself drops it off to crowley but it's turned over it's going the other way now three minutes ten seconds left in the half an offensive foul no zone at all block what I never liked about that call is yes his feet aren't set but when you put your head down and just charge forward and throw that ball up there how is that not a charge I thought that was a charge all the way I don't think who's even close to Alex Moreland is called for the foul that's his second free throws knocked down by Roberto he'll knock down the second as well as Davies enters for Moreland all right Beverly nursing the three point lead 309 to go on the half the amis is hanging around you know both teams haven't played in almost two weeks to him it and it shows especially a little sloppy tonight a lot of turnovers Crowley from three no good Davie skin boxed out just went up and got it nice take by Ronnie nice take by Ronnie Davy's comes away with the rebound and the assist they're rotting with for now beveling it 2 2 1 press the thing about I like it with this press and slows alt down they take their time to set it and it takes a lot of clock off I tell the kids you know what to get a steal you've taken the time off the clock buy time to get down the clocks winding down punch the way by de rain shirts on the floor it's gonna be a jump ball gonna be with Everly 2:25 to go in the half 24:19 rotting rushes it up Crowley mid-range J offensive board to rein he'll take an ill-advised three off the mark and an offensive board by a Bray who gets it down to Crowley who'll get fouled on the floor 2:10 left to go inbound play for the Panthers Roberto his second only the third on the team gonna get a timeout called from Beverly so with 2:10 left to go after that foul Panthers leading 2419 coach Kerr Kudus trying to draw something up here to get momentum at the end of this first half and carry it over to the second half now the thing about the box on one - I've had a past one played on me you can get very very frustrated with the box of one and Duran when he notice we got the ball he hadn't taken the shot he hasn't had gotten any good looks because of the blocks of one and the first thing like most kids like myself would you finally get the ball you want to fire it yep and you know I thought he kind of had a kid in the shirt you know written his face there and again that that's the part about the box of wine it could be very frustrating you got to just let the game come to you and not try and force things with it that's the key see how he does with it as the night goes on in ditomasso to his credit great defensive player he's all over terrain right now I see Mike Pacha's in the house tonight and now Mike's a good old-fashioned baseball guy who's done a tremendous work with the kids in the city of Beverly through the years and Mike I think I I don't we also were hanging out up I heard he's hanging out we'll see come this summer you know how much he misses and he gets back into LA Mike's done a nice job with the kids of Beverly in this congratulations Mike which is great coach matauri he's done with the kids prey inbounding it he gets rotting terrain another three can this one go off the mark on offensive board Roddy puts it up for two that's a good shot by the rain oh yeah a good look at it two points from Matt Ronny Beverly again with the press just under two left to go in the first half Beverly trying to gain some momentum to carry it over Weimer with the travel we call we've got a 148 to go and I have Kamara probably gonna finish it off this first half he comes in for drain [Applause] belfry's upbeat 2618 Kamara from three no good he has missed all of his threes tonight Yabba in transition a man and a half left to go in the first half yeah but brings it all the way to ditomasso in the corner for three off the mark rebound Kamara to second come on pushing it nice pass Oh Davis goes shoot that shot ends up doing it in for two Davies trying to be patient something we haven't seen from him a lot but it's good to see from the young fella yeah that's a good shot you got to take that shot about a minute left to go in the first half Beverley on a four roll run they lead 28:19 white nice pass through the legs of Yama's oh we're gonna get an offensive foul called on white excuse me on vallencourt [Applause] if Alan Koh a second foul and for the team [Applause] 48 left to go in the second quarter Beverly on a four old run looking to extend it Kimura goes baseline is just a back to bear Mille um but now 15 on the shot clock went in time riding with the penetration night is hot over rotting he has six in the quarter eight for the night go with two rebounds that's the way he's penetrating he's getting into the seams nice job getting into the seams all nice backdoor cut ditomasso trying to stay in bounds he doesn't all go on the other way all right the Bell was up 11 with a chance to get up to 13 or 14 with 15 seconds ago McCormick's gonna get some time in there as he comes in for bear actually rushed in there oh you got a technical gonna get a technical from McCormick for rushing in there McCormick saying the referee on the far side allowed him to come in but he's seeing that didn't happen so we're gonna get a technical Yepez gonna shoot I miss what happened to Alice EE Walden no II didn't get called in I believe so it was a great opportunity for Beverly to extend to six Oh Ron does she have a shoot when I believe [Applause] get that Beverly fan section letting them have it no good yeah give the second one knocks that one down you Evers got four on the evening so Beverly now the thing now just because the technical demons gets the ball bats the velvet is not gonna get the last shot unless they get a steal here kymaro's length collection almost nothing Wow almost split this deal yeah buzz gonna end up with it actually Beverly sideline was setting it up with it that was gonna get not 12 seconds ago they are gonna get the last shot so they lead 10 Oh or excuse me they lead by 10 12 left to go in the first half mccormick getting checked in this time comes in for bear see if they'll try to get mccormick that shot gets it to mccormick gets it to davies he'll take a fadeaway oh no good but rotting is gonna go up and get fouled as he didn't even look like he had the ball but he's gonna get fouled and shoot two with 1.6 left to go in the first half v followed amis saying the vials on we Mon is it why me why me why his first free throw is up and good bear and Marshawn inferred Kamara and mcCormick Bevell yep eleven thirty one twenty one point six seconds running second free throws also good he's got eight points in the second quarter leads Beverly in scoring with ten ditomasso shutting it down and it's gonna be a last-second shot attempt by vallencourt couldn't get it to go the end of the first half Beverly takes a 32 220 lead into the locker room terrain with six early points but he's been stifled by that box in one but the frustration he's just got to let the game come to him that's all he'll be okay the other kids got a step up that quarter Alex believe it or not demons only had one basket that three-point by white all the rest a points were one two three well five feet they were five four six from the foul line for the that quarter so Beverly is up twelve half-time again I think that the two-week break has kind of hurt both teams bellies with an average about 70 whole points a game so I think you gonna see him pick up the second half and stuff big point in that second half or second quarter Jordy rotting eight points matched all of Danvers scoring in that second quarter as well we're gonna go to a break we'll be back after some commercials in words from our sponsors we'll be right back you you are watching Bev cam here anyone can come to the studio to make their own local TV show contact us leading 32 to 20 after one early coming into this matchup 5 and 1/3 and O in the conference in Danvers yet to find a win not used to seeing a Danvers team winless at any point in the season really really been a powerhouse in the NEC for the past 10 years or so look at some stats from the first after rain had two quick threes starts 1st quarter he has nonesense he has 6 points in one rebound rodding with 8 points in that second quarter to match all of Danvers in scoring in that quarter he has 10 on the night to go with two boards abreu held scoreless in the first half we'll see how long that lasts Moreland six points for him to go along with six boards and two assists Crowley 4 points all for coming in that second quarter he also has six boards 1 assists 2 blocks and 2 steals Davies 2 points a block a rebound Aniston is excuse me and an assist and then Mille Umba in Barre with two apiece we're about ready to start the second half barely sending out their starters it's Abreu Derain Crowley Moreland and rotting and the girls after the first half at Danvers lead 29 17 with Alyssa Moreland scoring 11 points for the Panthers [Applause] it's inbounded rotting has it dishes it off to Abreu he'll put up it to no good offensive board for a layup and in good stop for Crowley no he goes up fourteen thirty four twenty using a pick is Roberta oh nice IO holding up for two still asleep back foot on that shot though Alex Abreu is for all points of the night I agree I think another of the dunk things which he can do then realize let's just take the two points white looking for somewhere to go with it Weimer vallencourt up for two he goes up strong off the mark last touched by the Panthers early off to a quick floral run minute gone by in this third quarter being very important to get those first two hoops Alex White and fouls gonna be called I believe on Weimer nby Mertz second rotting bringing it past half-court terrain a runner in the lane no good last touched by vallencourt stays with the Panthers terrain trying to work off a pick he gets free dishes it off to rotting [Applause] calling for a pic from Morland he gets it Crowley based Holly's nice strong who it's gonna be a charge they love that off with the car don't think Crowley's first Dean thrust for the second half minute and a half gone by in the third quarter Beverly leading 36:20 crowds gonna get called for a quick second foul there again a little touchy-feely there you know I don't like that call he had more the ball than the Dan was player white trying to get by rotting [Applause] good defense by rotting white somehow gets that gets that one by Crowley nice dish to Moreland goes up for too strong no shot I'm all alone no charge call they're noting 822 ditomasso getting his pocket picked by rotting but he's gonna be called for a foul [Applause] actually when I was gonna be called on ditomasso Oh offensive foul that's his second do second Beverly trying to pull away here Moreland the head of steam he pulls up no good Crowley goes up and gets it he puts it up gets it to go nice move by Crowley Crowley with eight and eight tonight with two blocks and 2 steals filling up the stat sheet well we still in that 2 to 1 press cardi trowel was good call yeah I thought they gonna call it the father might thought it I thought he traveled first and they did they got I want to travel [Applause] five 20 left in the third quarter Abreu for three off the mark we're gonna get a foul called pull the top on rotting me his first do you turn early back in that press Leimert gonna take it himself goes strong up against Crowley de Tomaso with the offensive board he puts it up fouled by de rain I believe [Applause] ditomasso shooting two it's the first to go [Applause] does that fall on Luigi I believe so that's gonna be three on him 40:24 Beverly lead just under five left to play in the third quarter [Applause] rotting nice dish to Crowley he goes up easy for to Crowley now in double figures [Applause] 22:24 WP team slowly pulling away three from Roberto got all three of them sis coming from white and to get a quick timeout timeout call by Danvers samus's I hope so Roberto with that three cuts the barely lead down Beverly still leads 42:27 with four and a half left to go in the third quarter and by the way else we got a update on labeverly demons girls basketball game Beverly was up 29 to 17 at halftime so Bella with a 12-point lead woman Dimas I want to mention my man Zach over here on the cameras tonight doing a great job in that girl's game Moreland had 11 points in that first half I seen her she bought a tie yeah she's an animal's little future she's got no question Lisa being the sister of Duncan Mullen an animal herself it's got eight point six boards tonight okay 429 ago in the third quarter here bellies up 1815 a 15 I'm sorry 42:27 not fifty Warland back up top to Abreu back to Moreland nice dish to rotting who puts it up for two good look from Moreland rotting continues his great offensive game he's got 14 tonight to lead all scorers we got an it's too easy chant coming from the PHS van squad picked away their bike rally foul gonna be on ditomasso his third it's as good stir it on a team Crowley with his third steal Marlin can be called for a travel name I thought he'd travel I think he's gonna wave to him gonna be a hold on ditomasso no it's he knows all roberto that's gonna be the girls third so he's got three oenomaus tomaso has got three Crowley another who long to for him Crowley already in this third quarter eight play he's got a nice touch I've been saying all along it's got a nice touch to a big kid trying to work it down into white they get it to vallencourt good defense by Durant out there going up I was gonna get called for the foul let's give me it his third I'm pointing out get him are the fifth on the team already still 331 ago in the quarter Davies white killer came in checking for Crowley right now which is a good move ditomasso first free-throw is good he is coming in for Crowley he's 3 for 3 from the line so far tonight Davy's comes with a game or jinx all a nice man move rotting a Braves open no one can see him ballin - good call he's taking that quick for a step Duncan he's gonna you want to be quick but don't hurry [Applause] Roberto past half court regarded by Duran yeah but a white back to yeba Roberto for three in the corner no good rebound Moreland oh and a nice pass by Mullen drain up for two nice pass drains first point since the first quarter he turned over there by Danvers and he get a timeout call my own Danvers Beverly Leeds 48:28 254 left to go and Dunkin Moreland playing very good here tonight just had a wonderful pastor terrain in transition I like Duncan's all wrong game rebounding defense going to the hoop acoustic they'll slice shop sees the floor nice durian I'll tell you the Rams not touching the ball much in offense but he's doing a heck of a job on defense doing a nice job belly slowly like I said starting to pull away now they're up 20 were to 54 to go in the third quarter so Allison will gonna be back in action again next Tuesday against one Linlin class school and the feelin classroom has come to the BHS grill house and by the way I have time I took a walk downstairs and I saw one of my ex 1998 basketball captain Tyler Volstead who's coached with Beverly was got Lewis for years you see it tonight with his daughter boy I tell you Tyler was a great ballplayer he put he was probably about 6-3 6-4 tossing played like a rebound like a 6/8 big kid you just had a great nose for the ball it was good to see those old players saw a great kid great kid all right Mille Umba in there he's carrying the ball up he's out there with Kamara Moreland Derain and Davies Moreland what would have a double pump there yes it's a home on I think even Moreland was surprised on that one so you're they're gonna call this foul on give me a fifth on the team it's gonna be on Roberta that's his fourth we gonna dump before Duncan finishes off the old-fashioned three-point play wellin with five points in this third quarter I didn't a great athlete it's like he went a full jump shot he could sense the guy behind was gonna block it he gave a nice double pump up because of it and made the shot nice dish down a nice jaw Auto and Davey's gonna get called for the foul you know I even looked at call and get murdered bears gonna come in for Davies I believe that's 16 files on on Beverly already and there's still 221 the going of Kawada so dance is gonna be in the bones already yeah we saw that happen in the first quarter as well barely getting off to foul troubles actually beer is gonna enter for Moreland Moreland exits the game he's got 11 points 7 boards and 4 assists this kid's been living up the lying on night he's 5 for 6 from line all in the second half No Camero biggest layoffs alum we're gonna take a three off the mark as well in Beverly this barely team not really getting the offensive output that we're so used to seeing coach and what do you think it is you think it's the layoffs do you think they're looking past it - maybe the link class no I I think it's more the layoffs it's gonna be I think it's definitely the layoffs both teams to you know shoot wisely but that way you know like they're getting into it now they're on their home court let's get a little more comfortable score 51 points thus far it's gonna be vallencourt for two [Applause] minute and a half left to go in this third quarter Kamara calling for some pics that we have 19 1:29 to go in the quarter come on thinking about a three steps back gets it to bear its Mull Umba now ooh there's no back did nine seconds on the shot clock balumbo Davies takes thinking about a three and your collar and travel again you want to be want to be quick but don't rush don't how are you there buddy 1:12 left to play in the third 51:32 Beverley lead [Music] [Applause] this referee is very emphatic with his uh with his calls I enjoy it that should be 101 I got into something father should be shooting one one here the scoreboard has it of the seven yeah we don't really noticing uh I'm not gonna say anything I won't either who's that following it's on white Kamara gets past him Mille Umba Hosanna three off the mark rebound vallencourt 48 seconds of own wanna light download a vallencourt darted by davies back to vallencourt taken away it's mille humble with it now 30 seconds she's me 37 seconds left the guys passed by lauding two barrel that was bare believe that was Kamara to bear oh okay well beautiful pass by Kyle Roberto still in the game with four fouls but he knocks that down for two Berto having himself a pretty good game [Applause] he's got ten points seven seconds you gotta go mallamma drives with go I thought it was gonna be a travel called Marty doesn't like it at all but mwamba you know I think might look good for - yeah what a weight in that third quarter we'll take it Mille umbers - gives Beverly 55 and they lead over Danvers by 21 it's 5534 Ricardo favela yeah like I said it's not in slowly pull away you know we have Beverly gone for somewhere what happened was that foul was Don this on here was off the following and I think even the scorekeeper thought it was the following us and they put up the seventh so actually Beverly only has six team fouls ok DMUs should be shooting the netfile one-on-one just to straighten that out so Beverly at quarter at 23 points Crowley leading all Beverly scorers are leading all scorers total in that third quarter he had eight might have himself a double-double before tonight's done yeah the else gordium is 23 to 14 by nine that quarter [Applause] okay I have DMS with five team fouls and w6 right now and during the fourth quarter dancing we get the ball to start off with weed pressure defense by Beverly oh your trip sedum I also got dropped out there this should be the seventh foul believe it's gonna be on Abreu actually gonna be on moorland that's gonna be his third they actually have 18 files with belly was actually only seven who's that following fouls gonna be on Moreland that's his third ditomasso shooting - he's been living there at the line like you said 101 listen something good be Tomaso in double figures for the Falcons misses a second after making the first Crowley with the board he's one rebound away from a double-double we're looking to close this one out send Danvers home winless de rain for three he chat he got it that's his third on the night his first since the first quarter vallencourt Abreu with good D they're redirected the shot just enough but Moreland or Crowley's gonna be called with that travel Moreland that's the third times McCall for traveling tonight the kidneys did that was I think he's a little puzzled but it's a good college he watches this game here to see what he's doing with that footwork his Roberto to the corner vallencourt could have been called for a travel of air he's not prolly comes away with it turns it over quickly white to vallencourt for two of the floater good vallencourt with six Danvers pressing doing their best to make this a game no quitting is no surprises rotting to the corner it's a brave almost lost it down to Crowley not guarded by anybody he goes up will jump all don't be Beverly blouse though this valid court has excuse me this ditomasso was a real player for the Falcons he's done a nice job he's only a junior a brave to inbound it rotting to the corner it's toast Scotty and it's good at like butter that's his first three of the night held him check in that first half no points for anybody has five in the second half ditomasso up for two got it 61 39 Beverly leads 622 left to go into the game all nice pass by rotting again that one just drops it down rotting second assist almost stolen there by Crowley would have been his fourth on the evening bat rottens have a great game tonight he's done a nice job penetrating and going to the hoop hitting the open man playing very good defense and when it was drained getting stifled by that box and one in the second quarter it was rotting who stepped up he had eight points in that second quarter when de rain was blanked what you want your senior captain to do when times are tough as ditomasso air balls a three Sistani with the rebound [Applause] there may be three mil good Moreland turnaround J off the mark Crowley trying to come away with it he can't all nice pass rotting just standing straight up Leimert puts it in for two climbers first points of the game getting very careless little teams are with the balls nice however can I like the left hand that probably used on that who Crowley's got 16 trying to take a charge there but Roberto puts it in for two [Applause] rot over the up 22 not rain nobody's guarding Crowley tonight and drains been finding him in scenes Roberto with the floater no good to rain with the board Beverly pushing it we're gonna get another nicer look by the Louise oh that nice fake by Duncan they'll get Mia again a nice look they always has some beautiful pasture tonight we're gonna get some substitutions as Davies and Goodwin comes in for Abreu and Crowley and what a night it was for Crowley looking to call this fall I think on the floor that follows on white Kyle white that's the second the team six that William bounds terrain the long to no good Moreland offensive board putback no good another offensive board I saw a good job by Malin staying with me he's gonna get up here at the line and that gives Moreland whose files on here a double-double on the evening he's got 11 in 10 before he shoots this free throw Crowley just missing out on a double-double he left the game with 18 in nine boards go along with two assists the files on white that says no excuse me I'm sorry ditomasso [Applause] both team in the bonus now bearer in for de rain now the only starter left out there for the Panthers is free-throw shooter excuse me no rodding is also out there as more than misses the second ball unless the first okay we got John Goodwin in the game now 44 taking the ball out of bounds along with Ryan Berra to barry davies and you get a foul bears gonna shoot - oh I think he called jump ball okay damn it was us and damn let's say it was not a jump ball but so Bell was up 25 now a four enough Bell he's been averaging about 74 points a game in there right on cue here 68 points with formance ago even with that long layoff yeah Beverley still putting it together offensively like you said they started off slow maybe they could pick up pick it up in the second half which is exactly what they've done Davies has been off the mark tonight he misses that long - 4:10 left to go into the game yeah but with a nice hesitation step in a floater past Davies that was sweet my shot [Applause] hard player to get it up and over against Davies especially when you're as tall as yellow who looks maybe 5 foot 2 riding a knife take again can't finish so good take all come every week the long arms and steel he had was gonna get called for that foul tomorrow we'll shoot - Marty yet to score this evening but done a good job defensively has a few assists to his name come I owe you - what was no good [Applause] McCormack in for rotting [Applause] so at the end of the third quarter over in Danvers where the girls are playing Beverly leads 41 to 30 that's a high output for the girls especially after three sherm Orleans having herself a game she had 11 and in the field I believe onthe arc yeah so that would be a huge win if penalty can knock the moths but see over there in a home caught father's gonna be on TV say I believe it Danvers for a No all in league play Beverly 3a no and league play the girls are of course 3 and 2 overall looks like the two teams to beat in each boys and girls NEC conferences are Beverly inland classical both strong gems this year for boys and girls we're gonna bring up the standings here on your screen is Beverly lead 69 45 with 322 7 left to go into the game you see there in the NDC North for the boys Lynn classical who is coming here on Tuesday to play this Panther team that's gonna be a great game Tommy graça understand has retired in his son Jasper is not coaching the team the name grass that goes on with the coaching ranks over here Tommy's an old friend of mine we go way back great guy and we're gonna bring the girls standings up as well excuse me no we do not have the girls sorry but as you see there Beverly 501 overall 3 and OH in league play looking to go six and one overall in four no in the league with a win tonight against the Falcons so you have a shooting pair here a 101 no it's a one-on-one I didn't catch that last time I was on the Abba misses the one-on-one timeout was called by Danvers most recently as we're going to substitute here as Weimar comes out Trevor Gibbs enters Davy's looking to get some offense going night-night didn't move instead of the paint we're gonna call the travel to connects to step on that spin move Davies struggling tonight two points two boards an assistant a block for the LC and clock Martian football captain for this year's football squad is now in three minutes left to go in this Camaro coming away with it brings the ball up last time we were here we saw come on are leading the second unit offense turn the ball over quite a few times tomorrow with the step back good good handles nice take left hand nice left hand now the - good to see that out of him Beverley approaching that or eclipsing that 70 point mark 70 145 up 26 Gibbs for three got it Gibbs enters the game it's his first shot [Applause] you might recognize that name gives these the son of Steve gives up basketball coach up an angry bear gets fouled by number fourteen that's gonna be lon so bear will shoot two and getting ready to enter the game will be Cahill the nephew of Beverly Mayor Mike kale just just not create it on Tuesday so current events here on fkm Sports Network okay Baron misses his first free throw batter makes the second and it's junior Aiden Cahill entering for him [Applause] just over two left to play in the fourth the outcomes this side of the score so all were waiting for is Gibbs we'll take another three this one no good rebound Marshawn quickly gets to McCormick to Mary bring it down John McCormick in there with la chienne Cahill good one Goodwin thought about the three gets it down low to Kamara he almost gets fouled throws it over to the Cormac Goodwin along three just off the mark he's the crowd please up look you can tell when good one comes in the game he's got a big cloud over their minds me being up on with the program before years great kid reminds me of Mike dueling back in 2013 a man I gave him the nickname the vanilla gorilla tomorrow blocks them from behind him oh I know Mike doing doing well great kid Goodwin gonna set a pick tomorrow for three no good go to an offensive board today he'll puts it up can't get the n1 but else you too [Applause] that was in the double bond style anyways but just Cahill shooting here Cahill shooting two Muslims no good [Applause] this is Bo moshing with a nice rebound job by clock Kimura get to take it away from him you ever came up from behind Yepez been a pest all night Kumari with the rebound come Aries got those long arms and legs doesn't he calling for the pic is Kimora Ian from Muhammad Goodwin maybe he'll get another shot off before this game's over almost fall he does fall over there himself and nobody's even looking at the hoop their nets this group that's out there they got look at the hoop 28 left to go becoming a real sloppy game this these past few minutes both sides Bentley is up 2472 48 shot clock turned off will just run this clock out I don't think you see Beverly's shoe here now they'll just hold the ball 20 seconds yeah good move so Beverly will improve to 6 and 1/4 and OH in league play Danvers oh and 6 oh and 4 and legally again after some points they would be hot 72 points well that's gonna wrap it up that's it's another one for Beverly it's nice one before they play classical again they started off slow we talked about the vacation break and not but they picked it up and again they scored 72 points in the long run they eventually pulled out end up winning a solid 24 point win which is nice for the Beverly kids body Harrington going through the lines now shaking hands with all the boys he's been coaching our last few years over here even coach catechu is a very good friends along with Chris Timpson and nice group of kids I'll tell ya now Beverly getting a crucial win on a snow day and Crowley played very well 18 points 9 boards for him to go with 4 assists 2 steals and 2 blocks Moreland with a double-double he had 11 and 10 with 4 assists and you gotta like the way this team played tonight especially after the layoff going into Tuesday against a good Lin classical time the precedence Beverly team just on the work they're very unselfish they work hide in the young I think we talked about the other day are they o'clock nine kids on a plan seven are coming back next year so I told people I think Nick she is the year but don't discount this year I think they're gonna surprise a lot of teams yep and they it's been good the schedules been good for them getting off to a good start and because they've got the lintons coming up at the back next week English classical Tuesday then I think they go over at learn English Everett's on the horizon you'll be seeing them a very strong ever team but again they're getting more game experience as we go along so overall nice win but you have four players for Beverly in double figures tonight they take this one 72 48 against the Danvers Falcons for Robert Doakes Zack gallant coach Tom Donovan I'm Alex Lucca thank you for watching Beth camp Sports Network and we'll see a Tuesday we'll be back next Tuesday thank you you [Music]

[Music] hello and welcome to the Henry catalog history [Music] the belly by so coach going into this Lin classical game this Beverly varsity team this is the real true tests before the Panthers so far this season yeah this should be a good one Alex classical comes in undefeated five and old Tommy graça who has coached for 31 years Overland classical his finally retired but his son Jasper has taken over Jasper's in his first year as head coach Tommy overall cost about 40 years over classical okay that's unbelievable Tommy's a good man we go way back I noticed a couple names on the roster I see the name Jeff Hill and I believe it's his uncle Kenny Hill who played for st.

Louis Cardinals before and Glasgow I close against my coach deal with coach Linda Hannah hi also I see the name Keith Ridley he was a quarterback on the classical football team his grandfather played basketball for me no Xie commute I was back in the early seventies seems like every team that comes in here you know all of the relatives have been around the ball team when you're gonna be running in a run for Mary yeah but anyways yeah talk about this Beverly six and one team they're only lost coming a Tewksbury and took Tewksbury Christmas tournament during the holidays very balanced I looked at the paper tonight and I see that you know I was scoring duck and Mullins leading the team with a thirteen point six points a game Toscani of Rose scored 13 points again rebounded Crowley Jeff Rowley of is a virgin nine point eight game and Duncan ballin 8.8 rebounds a game in Louie change his rebound was six point six rebounds that's a surprising number also an assist Matt running his second on the Northshore assist he's averaging almost five assists a game it just any is averaging four assists a game also so they've been very balanced this is a very veteran classmen team they lost I think only one ball player from last year's team and so they're gonna be already back and I'm looking at this roster and we will look at that light I think what for Julie is up seeing is thought tonight Ellen so this team is gonna be heard from again that she yeah this classical team only one true road game so far to date that was at Swampscott where they thrashed them Beverly in three home games us far three and OH with 72 points averaging per contest Beverly is well actually this is only the third game tonight on it alright because we going ahead we just had the oh yeah one was a home game but there was technically at a tournament right so actually this is only the third home game here at Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse and then the home again for two week 2 weeks ago tonight the the Gloucester fishermen come in this is a Beverly team that's definitely ready to go you mentioned Crowley with 9.8 rebounds so far to date he had a double-double the last time we were here on Friday in Beverly coming off of a great game in their last game on Friday where they just demolished Danvers it was nice saw the win I thought the big key that was you know getting back into it they had that long layoff from after the holidays and we talked about that in the first half was a little sluggish both he's a little sluggish and I thought even the first that was a matter of time which it was by halftime they were a 12 then they get up 20 plus in the third quarter and they you know put a big solid win these two teams one common opponents so far this season that his swamps got Beverly beating Swampscott on the road believe they won by 24 and when classical beating swamps got by 22 so these two teams with their similar opponent both handling and they're the Swampscott big lou big fluke excuse me very easily you know you know as the season goes on the more you win the more you start getting bigger crowds and I'm looking around tonight and I see of course the regular regulars here but I see some people who I know the huge Beverly High sports fans that are here tonight and again you have your regulars I see Frank 40 down here with a blouson pretty slacker jazz McKenna the forest boys Ricky and Bob order in the house Peter Caputo Peters our own Peter and he's up a lot Beverly and huge huge sportsman you go to Salem State walk around going in college down to Endicott Peters using one of those gyms on the side you okay Dave Koch arena he does a great job up here helping out our ad Dan Keith and speaking of our ad Ellis last game I saw roughly go by and I thought it was man from the back I said nah campy and all sudden he comes back to hopeful for that it's danke for every what happened was that the snowstorm that day there was no school that day yeah and on the freshman and JV games they have the same two referees one of them didn't show up and to Dan's credit he jumped in he's all is he a board official he has his shirt ups upstairs he went upstairs good his shirt on and then tada both the freshman JV game so kudos to lot and doing double duty double duty but Dan's a good man he's but super and super while we're here waiting for both teams to warm up why don't we go look at the graphics in the northeastern conference where Beverly is actually at the top because of their four and only president I'm gonna see it on your screen in a moment Beverly leading Evert behind them then it follows with classical English Malden Marblehead Peabody in Revere on the north side in that Gloucester team leading on the south side that's the next team Beverly will be playing at home again you said in two weeks right funny how this breaks down you know I'm still getting for Everett med favorite beer I know these companies they even even still if he was in the GPL for years wall that's another new team he's pretty good 3 & 1 5 & 2 overall some good basketball in as this conference has evolved over the past few years we've seen these Beverly teams evolve to both boys and girls teams these teams seem to be getting better every year and there's a great young core of talent we talked about Duncan Moreland on the boys side his little sister her freshman on the girls side holding her own averaging a double-double for the girls oh you know what Alex we gave up our last game we gave up the latest update we had on the belly Jim's good as a time but unfortunately we went off the air when the game ended before the final was official yep and if you don't know by now the Bella girls did go over to Damus and they they beat there was a very good damage 62-54 is undefeated on their home court also I heard that damage shows that night at halftime to hoisted Championships vodka Vienna yep I don't know it was a little rubbing Billy's face you know buddy had some tough games and I talked a couple parents who who were a little upset about it they thought was like getting it rubbed in your face he was a snow day - we're gonna hang a championship banner on a snow day but listen from a coaches point I laughed at the pants this is no you don't understand I says as a coach I love that because that's my bulletin board stop yeah I'm taking that when I play Damus next year don't think I'm not reminding them about the night they decided to place the championship being around so is that poison so that's great bulletin boy stuff he'd love to see that stuff that's a coach you know the girls team playing very well this year they're second in the NEC north for know in the league for and - overall they're just behind when classful so both boys and girls learn classical teams in the top two or three spots in the NEC and again the ghost team is very young - besides the moment they're over here but the answers going to tee up and I definitely there were only sophomores and you know I know Rosie got great leadership with those two senior girls they've got a nice some good good athletes over there that was going out to look for time and a lot of sports yes down the road ten minutes on the clock until opening tip-off in coach which player or players are you looking to have a huge game tonight against this classical team who do you think's going to break out well I'll tell you Beverly the thing I like about Bentley is there's no really one kid I think he's gonna have gaming a game out what I like what Bella is they're very balanced and they're a tough team to play a certain defense because they've got their very balances foot any one of those kids out there tight is capable of scoring 15 to 20 yep couple looking very capable of scoring 22 25 to 30 on a given night you have those nights so I like the balance of Beverly Hill Murray did together we saw Toscani Abreu of course break out in that first quarter he scored 18 I believe in the first half alone and then none in the second half and then you saw players like Moreland and Crowley step up also rotting in that game against Danvers on Friday when terrain was getting smothered in that box and wandering had six points in the first quarter then rodding came back in that second quarter and responded with eight points of his own well even that yeah but he did so many things he rebounded he had some beautiful passes I thought Matt Harding along with his 12 points put a great all wrong get up to lock those balls give me some really really nice no-look passes and you know we got to get back I should say I need to get back to my Tommy points if you haven't given any Tommy points yet but you know you get a Tommy point for making a nice no-look pass or it's a art of mad at Tommy point if you take a charge there you go now do they get a deduction for a Tommy point if they're wearing their hoods at all no just a boy you're not a fan of those hoods on the wall I don't see any right now you know what it's like my son's houses no time you gotta change to the time it's true you know because if it's like the things they do the nba's up if I was a kid this day I probably feeling the same thing it was all because we all watched the pros you know III love to throw before Monroe up learn how to use that little spindle in my nickname in college was the Pearl there you go I could see that see both teams still warming up seven and a half left to go until tip-off again a late start tonight because of the JV game running long well you know what won't kill a little time here Ellis won't we go around the city will say a quick shout out to I know some people to Bobbie home and the nice warm living room watching the game we have a roger Morenci like to give a shout out to Chapel miry Danny marriages been Goodhue by old pal Johnny P Jeff price that Jeff price is good friend of mine he plays baseball for me here he predicted Alabama was gonna win last night oh yeah and he says I'm gonna tell you right now it's gonna be about 43 points scored in the game I bet the over did you real he over was in the over/under was 43 and a half I bet the over well I'll tell you you had to sweat that out because no I did bricen almost had it right on the rate of the head this goes 20 the 20 what 3 seconds are gonna go for the 1 a chip shot yep he makes that 23 20 final school's out 43 points great on the button and as you touch the rest is history he missed it and we moved over time wasn't that unbelievable it was that was an unbelievable game Oh unbelievable game really was quick shout-out to a couple of my friends watching Adam Burt at home in Amesbury Massachusetts to big Bama fan so you know he was very happy to see that last night and a quick shuttle to my mother Oh Lorraine watching the game as she always does whenever I come home she's always telling me I gotta start being so hard on the kids Lorraine really yes oh there you go and by the way Alice I like to point out that I got some sad news I picked up to these people I saw the passing of Mike Pierce some of you might remember his son Greg Pierce who played running Pat Bailey I once a Greg was probably on the class of 2008 and a great kid and play basketball with some of the traveling teens they had when he was younger Mike was a big sports fan here you all saw much yes you got the tickets at the door a couple years but he loved it he loved sports and the good me and him he asked me and took me along to a BC football game yep I was very thrilled to be asked so I like to pass on my condolences to the Mike Pierce family and the rest of the family and also while we you know thought with that we talked about the celebration of life for Dave Cogswell illness would what Dave Dylan's work envelope that's again that's the sateen itdown the union club 141 Cabot Street Saturday night 5 to 10 do you David please come down they're gonna have music and karaoke for anybody it's no tears on I understand that's fine the cost of all the good things was good very positive loose yeah an SLA Dave would like that night know all the years I knew him I never knew they caught him Diamond Dave okay but I could see I can see that day was a carrot that he loved to dance and why for the party he was a good kid you look like a karaoke guy to me what you can all no no I feel like you could do so I love music I love music I don't like the fifties wife one of my boss and rice to bots and told me he would pay for my way out to go on the show name that tune okay you have a couple hands and I would buy the clue yeah I knew the song I liked like a name in with no notes you know and then you know I would name it crack up when I they announced the right songs but no I love my 50s about four minutes to go until tip-off now Ellis I'm gonna throw a question out to our listeners out there okay I will see what the CLO date I think was it last year before they named all they thought with a top five football players in belly high history yes who would you name for the top five basketball players I go back a long ways and it's impossible without looking at some loss of the refresh in the memory because you so many good ones have come and gone through the years and then I talked about you know that's a subject for another day but yeah we got some you know Peter Wynn who went on the play the visual and Syracuse obviously sticks out yeah Bobo Carr who was a junior my senior went to Rutgers oh yes freshman his freshman year and you know who's coach was who coached Jimmy V from North Carolina really was his freshman well and the funny story of Jimmy we talked about the night he gave the big talk that he was so excited for his first game he gave him a huge huge pep talk and he was so excited he went running to the door and he was they were locked in he almost broke his shoulder but anyways yeah Bo will play for the great late Jimmy V going on the 1a state national championship with North Carolina State now I can't go as far as back as you with my memory I've only been coming to these games until since 2009 but since commentating if there's been a few guys and girls that have stood out to me Chris Keaton he could shoot on command and his twin sisters Ashley and Bridget very good knows exactly all three of those kids with my basketball castle he is and you can't beat a nice of family they are sweet hot along with Mikayla would would they all came to my Kansas anyway young on now that they grow up now they'll work on consoles at my camp they would just upstate Chris for left Chris molest me yep Chris with my camp for years I've been blessed with the kids I had great role models my baseball caster Jeff and we wanna pull you down at Davidson and draft them on the Arizona Diamondbacks referee ready he's now the head coach of Columbia ok basketball you talk about my connect who play for me great qualify a be the wind mobile car is just been some great ones mighty Harrington or my happens now an assistant coach over at the envers blank calmly and blunt bachelors to to cleanse in this class of 72 those kids milk three-point is back then used to shoot them all just over half court and we're about a minute away from tip-off here at the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse gonna have the starting lineups in just a moment Beverly it's going to be the normal starting five you have terrain growly rotting Moreland and Abreu on the limb classical side we're going to have jaylen Johnson Ishmael Johnson Anderson Nicosia and Rucker you were looking at the roster before the game coach and you noticed a couple of another pair of brothers on the Rams team bus or others or Solis [Applause] again this is they stop when it's not one see how so this team is gonna be heard from again next year I think the key to tonight's team is game tonight else is rebounding children class is not overly big with their very athletic we all jump bail B's gonna have to hold their own on look on the boards absolutely [Applause] Roscoe will look to run so bail he needs to get back on defense and they should be able to do that they do they do a lot of running practice law and they're in pretty good shape so we should the game yeah we've talked about what Beverly lacks for in size they make up for with their length this might be again you want to take the over I would have grabbed it she's got to turn a little barn burner probably just introduced both teams averaging in the mid 70s Duncan walling the sophomore too soft wasn't it to do first [Applause] one genius thought in society now getting introduced and the last to get introduced all the Cathay's Luigi Maria what do you think about Duran's long sleeves we're in some long sleeves tonight again ties and change but it's not even just a shooter sleeve it's a long sleeve undershirt how was the shoot and we're going to pause for the representation of the colors here at Beverly High School [Music] welcome back to the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse we're the six and one Beverly Panthers hosts the five and OH Lin classical Rams Beverly holdin on to first place in the NEC north because of their for a no conference record where Lin classical is sitting at third when classical's sending out their five again it's Johnson Anderson at nicosia Rucker in Johnson with the Panthers its terrain rotting Abreu Moreland and Crowley alright we'll set the goal BHS van squad to the left of your screen it's a whiteout tonight guess we didn't get the memo [Applause] it will be Crowley in Johnson to tip first quarter is underway Abreu quickly gets it drives left pulls up can't get it to go but terrain gets the offensive board he also can't get that one to go so quick to attempt for the Panthers couldn't get on the board that we stopped up in the zone tonight Johnson at the top gets it out to Johnson he'll take a three got it [Music] classical on the board first 304 the three from Malik Anderson excuse me not Johnson as Abreu will go up I love this all cap Poly offensive putback Rucker Anderson Rucker again to Johnson up top started by de rain open three off the mark looked like a shot I would take but rotting with the rebound Moreland steps out who's surprised he felt Lee stop the zone but you know maybe they're gonna hope that this is a tough place to shoot to Allison a lot of teams have told me coaches the passes that Wayne T hands come with coach I was saying used to say was like shooting at Delhi Airport yeah he's not this a lot of depth very cavernous this Fieldhouse so think of Vantage for Beverly absolutely EE in that zone the 1 to 2 zone nice block thought at last touch the rain they might have gotten away with one there it's gonna be going with Beverly 650 left to go in the first okay classically looks like they're like two to one pressed match up Beverly look on the break it they do easily growl we underneath goes up gets it Crowley with all four points for the Panthers tonight that's the key to the press you break that press quick and orally they take it off especially if you get a couple open way it's like that so Bellinis I think Bella's gonna be prepare for three from the corner air ball offensive rebound putback no good and another putback is good Johnson Ishmael Johnson second-chance opportunity Rams lead five for the rain for three no good Crowley battling for the rebound it's gonna stay with the Panthers it's game already off to a quick pace Glasgow going to his own out-of-bounds play here rotting to Crowley gonna try to feed the hot hand he'll be fouled [Applause] foul is going to be on believe number 11 it's Jonathan Nicosia is for us the team first Oh rardy a nice feat it's a Crowley who kicks it back out to the Rams another three pointers no good Moreland offensive board he's gonna travel to reign over two from three tonight we talked about before streaky shooter is terrain but when he hits he hits like to see Luigi style attack a little hoop a little bit more he's shown in the past he can really go to look strong and that was open up his outside solid boy Nicosia another three off the mark you know I missed that shot but you could see he looks like he's got a nice soft touch there [Applause] now classical moving the pressed back for like a three quarter to three one fresh new CEO Lee kyu won the John Wood is special John Wood is tough rotting up top Crowley fakes the shot cross-court to Abreu it will be called for the travel yeah what step good call again we want to be quick you don't want to hurt 529 left to go into the first-class go with a 5-4 lead all four points for the Panthers credited to Crowley sake Bentley you're gonna find make pasta beans on the outside [Applause] Anderson Johnson driving a nice off-balance layup is jaylen Johnson got past couple defenders use a glass it's gonna be taken away fast-break now for the Rams by Anderson Rucker might be called for a travel he will be football one thing that's out in a few minutes in in this game that this classical team can run labret you breaking the pressure they want to find a look to attack on it though Moreland had that one poked away stay with the Panthers underneath 74 Glasgow for 43 to go in the first quarter and just joined us if you did just join us we event I agree Crowley we're gonna add to that point tole he's gonna kick it out to Abreu but it's poked away by Rucker with contact he'll miss the shop it he'll shoot two foul on Abreu I still mean Toscani first foul the first little team to see that foul coming up that play there you got to try and beat him to the spot you can get there and try and take a charge there's a good offensive move also by Rekha that you know he saw it's us counting the end and he kind of threw his body into some Toscani first shot from Rutgers good his first points of the night second one good as well nine four lead for the Rams still pressing rodding up to Moreland to Abreu back over to rotting gonna try to regain their composure now set something up 15 on the shot clock a brave pulls up off the mark offensive board Moreland putback no good rodding is there to keep it a shoes me that's Crowley he goes home for - nice job a Jack Crowley's six points for Crowley to go along with three boards already Johnson in the corner mid-range J off the mark Moreland trying to come down with it good luck possession goes a clasp [Applause] spreading it out on their inbound play Johnson up to Rucker Rucker driving might be a charge gonna be a travel on roughy we felt wrong they did I thought it could've been off the file too so Beverly gaining some momentum looking on Beverly breaks the tackle more on it quick foul on 23 that's our America is first team second [Applause] you can't do that chan is easily my favorite fan chant in all of sports easily my favorite by the way we welcome back dick young looks like he's working the clock tonight Aaron scaling down on the scoreboard a brave gets out of that rotting hill drive go up 4-2 off the mark it's going the other way now Johnson has a head of steam Abreu trailing but Johnson and easy to Johnson was four now for the Rams as they lead 11 six with 320 left to go in the first quarter just press almost forcing another turnover as the rain ends up coming away with it but turns it over himself class will slow it down Barbosa enter the game recently after that Rutger foul he's one with the ball now he'll take a deep three couldn't get it to go Alex what's Johnson we have getting that last pass jaylen Johnson king so he's got two hoops number six team fouls pretty even one for Beverly two for classful the three minutes left to go in the first quarter Derain nice pass to Crowley he'll go up but sent away a fake on that Ishmael Johnson with the block Kamara recently entered in the game for the Panthers he'll inbound it goes up top to rotting good job by Matt coming to the ball that's the key in this battle you gotta come meet the ball to reign for three no good offensive board Crowley the putback after a move couldn't get it to go [Applause] Rams coming the other way now jaylen Johnson thinking about pulling up he'll Drive kick it back out in the corner over three Anderson got it to go to second three of the evening he's got six in the first quarter as ramsley 14 6 coach Kerr Cudas might be thinking about taking the time out here pretty soon Moreland to Crowley they've just been feeding the big man and they keep tradition 8 points for Crowley 4 rebounds wilykit through the game Moreland credited with that assists jaylen Johnson guarded by rotting in the corner it's Anderson he has two threes he turns it over good hélène chasing it down he'll pick it off an easy buddy gets it to go good hustle good hustle by Luigi 1410 right back in the game put four-point swing Beverly closes the lead to four as we'll get a timeout from the Rams and the BHS fan squad is into it in this Panthers team is getting some momentum coach good hustle by Luigi day I think class can kind of gave up on it and justice always gonna be a back part and the way you saw that as took advantage of that opportunity the hustle would chase it down and laying in uncontested it's a good job by Luigi after this timeout we're gonna see Crowley get a break he has eight and four tonight in his place will be Micah Davies the Philadelphia native in his first year with the Panthers head struggled a little bit on offense on Friday only two points but he had a couple blocks and a couple rebounds off the bench for the Panthers against Anthony can we talk about any of these kids I'm the same young man my boy from Philly who's he calling Philly yep he has 16 his first game here is on going up with a couple threes so again very balanced balanced team a Beverly the doing pretty good job breaking the press I think I'd like to see him just attack a little bit more because what's happening once they are attacking and they break on the press to bring the block back out in class was kinda like sitting in that zone like okay well ready come on don't give him time to get in that zone you can beat it attack off 127 left to go in the first Beverly on a for old run classical leading 1410 out there for Beverly will be Davies camara Derain Abreu and Moreland good measuring stick tight from this game Johnson up top guarded by terrain he'll go right to ridley back to Barbosa Ridley from the corner no good we were gonna get it over the back hall on jaylen Johnson who called his first team's third [Applause] class will still in that press Bray you easily getting through it tomorrow download a Moreland working on really nice dance to nice pass by long Moreland not on the scoreboard tonight but he's got two boards and two assists Duncan does all the little things 25 seconds ago in the first quarter rasca with a two-point lead the brave almost putting away with that one Robbie's gonna take a break got Ronnie coming back into him everyone at 6 o run 1412 gospel 40 point 5 seconds to go in the first quarter here Johnson driving right Ridley to the corner it's gonna be on Raw Diante Plouffe at the line for two I think that's gonna be on Ronnie his first team second yeah it is on Ronnie the junior Plouffe looking for his first points of the evening this is the first 32 seconds the goal in the first quarter here the second free throw no good as well and it's going to stay with the Rams it looks like as it was last touched by Moreland twenty nine on the shot clock hopeful one I don't think classroom 20-plus Percy's on the wall I'd be surprised they do let's see Johnson would riving down it's down around ten folks might yell over Johnson driving through this Beverly defense finds Ridley in the corner for a three no good Abreu he has come our he hasn't hit the brave comes away with it again 11 seconds on the clock Moreland working down low on Ridley Scott thought about second time Orleans done that tonight [Applause] good take Camaro he had an open teammate on the left side he saw but dig deep it's a play by Klaus he's got a hand up eight point seven seconds Glasgow by two I told you I'd be surprised if they help in one shot yeah we pressure buddy wanted to run six seconds mm coming up he'll take a three with five seconds left off the mark grabbed by Abreu he's putting in a headlock by fluke and we're gonna have to get a foul called on Plouffe it's gonna be his first team fourth so at the end of the previous one okay classical leads 1412 with the Panthers and the first quarter on a six-o run we talked about rebounding being a problem for the Panthers but they're filling up the rebound she unofficially 13 rebounds for the Panthers in that first quarter did more than holding their own on the boards and that's why I was sitting out a two-point game I think Alex if that's gonna be big Keys that they need to rebound scoring for Beverly led by Crowley in that first quarter he had eight to go along with four boards Davies with two in terrain with two apiece as well Moore went out on the scoreboard but two assists and two rebounds for him on the classical side we get Anderson with two three-pointers for six points Rocco tooth free throws his Mel Johnson with two points and jaylen Johnson with two hoots for four points Bosco is tuefel for from a line and Beverly here jet to shoot a free throw that's another thing that could seem to go to the hoop draw the fouls costume got four I want to get in that early bonus belly's got to team foul as possible for out there for the Panthers will be the starting five its Abreu rodding Crowley terrain and Moreland [Applause] rotting looking for Crowley he wasn't ready for it we're gonna get a whistle one of the officials shot clock did not start just adjusting the shot clock to 24 and Crowley will inbound for the Panthers slotting guarded by Nicosia terrain trying to come off a screen a Braves gonna take it three knocks it down first Beverly lead of the night given the Panthers by Abreu 1514 [Music] transection getting into it now Johnson up top guarded by terrain Rucker ill-advised shot off the mark Abreu comes away with that rebound that's his third Crowley to couldn't get it to go nice look like Crowley nice pass blue easy kind of fade it away a little bit brief from Ridley off the mark Ali a tough rebound in traffic Ridley Oh for three from John the art tonight the rain he'll take his third three tonight he'll miss that one gonna go Wow hot rodding don't be mad second third on team see Doreen hasn't quite got it together tonight from three over three to get we thought about him being streaking it oh boy he's like he's guarding Johnson he gets it to the corner Nicosia good defense by Beverly probably comes up a big Ronning past half court Abreu put it to the floor tries to drop it to Crowley last touched by Abreu Paul good call and he had he having a good take kara Kudus arguing that it was touched by Lynn classical but lavell oh yeah jaylen Johnson will exit in this place will be Maliki Anderson he had two threes in that first quarter the info Beverly mwamba will enter for rotting who just picked up his second foul a moments ago good move it's a one-point game Rucker to Anderson in the corner it's blue Nicosia from the corner no good rebound terrain mallamma couldn't handle that pass but he gets it out to Abreu for three no good rebound Plouffe put Beverly's right there and we're gonna get a timeout called by Lynn classical with 608 left to go in the first Beverly for the quick free to start the second quarter from a brave but since then no scoring Beverly leading 1514 with 608 left to go in the first half and a bond burner gone so firewalls that was moving the ball pretty good though again playing very unselfish like they usually do couple uncharacteristic turnovers from the Panthers early in this second quarter Seema lumba getting some early minutes in this game I think this is the earliest we've seen mallamma enter a game for the Panthers a season good athlete 608 left to go but it was classical score to Hezbollah I mean they were up fourteen eight and hables got a pulling sense right Beverly scoring the last nine points of this contest dating back to or excuse me going back to that first quarter in the game turned over mwamba comes away with it gets it up to terrain with contact no call but in petuzi good use of left hand for the young fellow 1714 low nothing run not the one right now this fan squad getting into it flew up top Rucker will flow it to head coach Matt Garrett Kudus shoot up Mackey wide open wide open he him nice by Glasgow and I'll try and get something going on defense blombo to Moreland Crowley belong to no good [Applause] Rucker to Nicosia he'll Drive has it deflected obray one was coming away with it but he'll be up and in scored by Ishmael Johnson possible tipping that one away rotting will enter from alum boma lumber good minutes he had a steal in an assist about a minute and a half a play so can't ask for much more than that just to be a game I think that we might have the opportunity take a lot of charges this class was gonna start getting frustrated and then we'll hope we find the force to drive bring you guarded by blue he'll get fouled good call gonna be Plouffe second sauce over fifth on the team two more free throws for 39 to go in the half pray you throwing this one in he gets it to Crowley Rawdon call the play looking from Warland Roger thought about it - Duran drain the step act long - couldn't get it to go it's coming the other way now Plouffe has Anderson in the corner he'll get it to him he'll take the three no good for mandersohn as the offensive board can be Ishmael Johnson I believe looked like he got called with the push loss of six once embellishing one-to-one next it is on his room that's his first WS on the one-point lead roddy taking the pick from Crowley good help D from the Rams terrain pulling up nicely motor for two-foot arraign not getting it going from beyond the arc but he's down with a low voice Rucker nice moves couldn't get it to go picks up his own board and puts it in Rucker with for tonight 19:18 this game closed 337 left to go in the first half rotting is going to get fouled I blind by Ishmael that's his second one second so one yeah we got a 101 all right you get a 30 for the goal you shoot one on one keep attacking and going through the hoop ballets freshman Jeff Barbosa coming in for Ishmael Johnson you do not Ishmael Johnson for nicosia watery shootin 101 first we throw off the mark wasn't I'm pretty good from the line to Johnson to Anderson always really pulls it on that Lane when they trying to drive Barbosa good position five good pop he hooked over we play this if only we had that technology Bo's not a shooting one in onenote robbing to bring it up again he gets it taken away and he'll do a good job of fouling Johnson it's all schools gonna be matched to a foul he's gonna have to come get out of here Canaries gonna replace him at Ord might not see him until halfway through the third quarter long says close you gotta keep him out of here leave the team in assists that leave us at one point Lee 1918 Johnson pulls up gets it to go Lee black - excuse me lead back to classical firstly long-grain nice move sends Rutger packin chimera from three no-good Moreland the rebound the putback putting get it to go Crowley's turn he couldn't do it either but he'll get fouled excuse me he'll be called for the foul it'll be going the other way believe it's gonna be on Crowley we'll see it is Carly's first fifth team foul on Beverly Beverly has one file to waste with 237 to go on the first half blasted by one 2019 Kelly still in that 1 to 2 zone ball three Johnson for three got it to go who's got none jaylen Johnson 9 points to lead all scorers tonight let's get 5 in the second quarter to rain another mid-range J off the mark [Applause] the rain with the Dion Johnson Rucker he'll pull up after a step back off the mark tomorrow doing a good job getting in there for the rebound but he gives it up Rucker comes away with it and Crowley gonna get called for another foul that's two on him John collee will quickly see davies enter the game all right so now it's gonna be one-on-one both ways the last two the gold down for Rucker Anderson [Applause] almost loses it at half-court Johnson pulls up in front of Abreu off the mark offensive board is Johnson he's gonna be call it a travel in early in the first quarter we said bear with doing a good job rebounding holding their own but in this quarter it's been linked last couple of minutes castles but along the boys minute and a half left to go in the first half Abreu coming down with steam Davies thinks about shooting it Moreland thought was gonna be a shot Davies tries to pass it and a lot of confusion there in the hull style is gonna be shot 127 to go in the half Glasgow that's on the four-point lead with the wall Anderson milking some clock Rucker with it now Anderson in the corner it's Johnson he'll drive he has 9 kicks it out to Rucker deep three gets it to go somebody check his sliders who's at that Rucker classical trying to force a turnover at midcourt they do Johnson for an easy to carry Kunis will call a timeout huge run for classical as they lead 28:19 with 49:21 left to go in the first half last basket was Johnson which one jaylen Johnson with another one 11 points for him tonight he leads all scorers and call him Junior 10 Oh run for the Rams 11 points Jalen just like that belly's not cooked 9 seconds see Kara coot is talking to his team gonna send out their camara de rain Moreland Davies and Abreu Roddy with three and Hollywood too firmly in the one and one well as classical so fouling with - Ronnie with three that's five fouls and odd Toscana he's got one file so lose your six fouls alright everyone both q41 cuz I'll get a quick shot and then I get the ball back for a live Abreu working on Johnson he'll Drive kick it over Moreland puts it on the floor puts it up gets it in Moreland his first bucket of the evening Abreu with the assist [Applause] classical holds on abyss but I was still about the idea they want for quick shot two-for-one deal Johnson driving sent away by Davey this will see why they're not my who which call Philadelphia block party there you go buddy turn around J from Anderson shot clock violation alright good shot [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Bray you past half court downloaded Davies Moreland did the ring puts it up gets it to go Beverly will get the last shot of the first half they score twice in the last 49 seconds and they close in on this lint classic elite it's down to five now 28:23 Rams at the end of the first half as Derain who started off slow with only two points in that first quarter Falls it up with six in the second quarter in Beverly finds himself in this even though letting up at 1000 run at the end of that first half yeah good first half five point game long way to go Crowley with eight Derain with eight for the Panthers on the RAM side it's jaylen Johnson with 11 and Rucker with 7 to go along with six from Anderson so at the end of the first half when classical leading 28:23 will be back classical off to a 2823 lead large and thanks to genuine Johnson for the Rams well bet we thought you know hanging rate with the mallet showing they can play with this team and this is one of the better teams are gonna see all year so that's a good sign long way to go a long way to go I'm wondering how the girls are doing over classical I'm gonna try and get an update I will work in this half yep worth noting on the win classical side Edwin's solace normally in the starting lineup one of the best players for the one classical Rams dressed but not playing tonight not sure why saw a tweet from Salem news writer Nick Giannino fellow UMass Lowell alumni also thinking the same thing saw solace on the bench not sure what's up but nonetheless not playing tonight well good to see Bentley got off to a quick start this half coming up here you know like like to get that first hoop they ended up that the second that first half with the last four points Alex right yeah last two hoops good sign there's a 1000 run from the Rams at the end of that first half Beverly closing out the last four points well like Tommy Heinsohn and like gloma say this is a game of runs here's exactly what it is you know it's coming just under a minute left to go to the start we just got a little a schoolgirl score then class we'll go Rams leave the belly Panthers 19 to 13 at halftime okay that Beverly team four-and-oh and league play 4 and 2 overall the girls of course in classical 5 & 1 overall 4 and only plays well so the winner of that game will have possession of first place in the NEC north as well as this game winner of this game first place the NEC North as well [Music] literally sends out rotting obray you Crowley and Moreland drain out there as well and drain took off that long sleeve undershirt not sure what it was this wasn't feeling it maybe maybe because he missed all of his threes yeah all right Oh still not well ready to go still with eight points in that first half despite not connecting from beyond the arc Johnson over to Rucker back to Johnson Anderson down low they get it to Plouffe he'll drive on Moreland kicks it out Rucker another three for him and another make Rucker heating up from downtown - it's got ten points Rams lead 3123 Abreu driving gets it to go five for Abreu went Glasgow quickly coming back Anderson puts the move on Crowley gets the friendly roll caret Kudus yelling get his hands up 33:25 bell bees Donny just one minute to the third quarter here are you taking a pic from Crowley gets it to Doreen 12 on the shot clock Abreu working on Rucker trying to go left hesitates a little bit to reign for three first one without the sleeves no good if that first half was this classical team not being serious I don't want to see what this house gonna bring they just thought they playing with a little bit more intensity on defense Moreland Oh probably couldn't handle that one he gets it to the rain with that assist again ee continues to hang around it 33:27 like you said it's a game of runs and we haven't seen one this half as terrain almost comes away with that pass driving is Anderson he puts it up for two he's at the last four for the Rams again Beverly down by 8 Moreland he'll drive drop it off to Crowley long - off the mark rebound Plouffe quickly out to Johnson he has Rucker one-on-one Abreu he gets it past him Rucker now with five in the third Carriacou - with a timeout quick run for the Rams they lead 37 27 matches their largest lead of the game with 545 left to go into third quarter like I said it just leaves me like glass will came on to SAP just pick it up a little bit you know it's only ten points which is nothing the game like this again we talked about a game of runs mm-hmm it's the long way to go can hear Cara kudus from up here probably really wanted to could hit caribou sand balls playground time that's okay I understand no problem fly school ah it's keeping the devil fans as we look at the eight points for the Panthers came from Crowley finally first people is up in nine points now for Crowley to go along with six rebounds I thought I was seeing things but Crowley's bouncing the ball to his left hand and then she different strokes for different folks Johnson drives in kicks it out Anderson got it to go this classical team is pretty hot from three Anderson's seven points in the 30 now seven 12 now we can hit a grass up from boss playground kara coot is talking about being unselfish on the offensive end you can hear him there wants him to move the ball and he's talking about closing out and boxing out on the defensive side you just saw two offensive rebounds for Lind classically to that three from Rucker that was the run with the loan but told you you know it's up and down up and down up and down and still you know with everything it's a fairly low scoring game really you know I mean like we said that we've been averaging about 74 points a game they want to get 36 right now the way this game is going could end up in the sixties easy all right don't leave down seven riding with the ball here we go freshman Barbosa karate man a man Moreland to brave the rain he'll try a 3 again still off the mark Abreu with the rebound mid-range J can he get it no come on the other way now proudly trying to grab it he gets it finally he got to him to go 1 for 6 to rain from 3 third time's a charm without the sleeves anyway the rain good defensive play throws it up to Moreland and we're gonna get a foul called on Moreland alright I think what's happening I think coach Carroll got the offensive rebound all right been without five now been moved from Abreu can't finish again Crowley trying to come away with the board he can't Johnson head asourian a school here you gotta take your time while I think Plouffe - off the mark trying to come way without rebound as Beverly it stays with the reins they'll be down five exactly two minutes ago in the game you want to get down somewhere right right here then the clock becomes a big issue down five want to get a stop and get a hoop Barbossa wasting some clock gets it to Johnson classical gets a hope they play Lulu so that we might have to come up played me on the moon soon Johnson driving on routing kicks it out to Barbosa over to Rucker deep three couldn't come away with the board and it's put back excuse me miss by Plouffe Beverly's still trying to come away with an offensive rebound and all classical if they get the timeout here Kara Kudus is not going to be happy in this huddle here they just let up three offensive rebounds in a row to the Rams we talked about that early about the wee bottle of being key and Bill we sell their own and wouldn't come up with the offensive rebounds has killed Beverly Kara coot is talking to Brae about those finger rolls on that last one that last breakaway they're always going to send out there Abreu rodding Moreland Doreen and Crowley the starting 5:20 time you know possession game here down five got to get a stop right here 30-second clock I'm a bum class I'm gonna hold the ball as long as they can to get it down to one minute whether I score or not school then use some of that clock so let's see what happens they come over the fact I won't be surprised he barely come out right now and go man a man they play his own classroom I just set outside now hold on to it but you're cold cow Moos might be thinking about going in the rain coming right out this time out will seem like again as far as the boys games Alice menu will be back two weeks from tonight yep pretty good miss you see the cover just yet yeah okay bellies gonna go man a man the freshman Barbosa inbounding it for the Rams big minutes for the freshman from one classical trying to get it to Plouffe they get it to Rucker terrain gonna get called for the follow a couple more two ways for the Panthers well they got one to waste year that's their 1515 file so they got one to waste on the seventh gospel shoot the 101 bellies all you in the bonus tricycle with a stack they get it right up I won't fly right away I just please daddy please trap when you can freshman Johnson over to Johnson rotting on jaylen Johnson trying to trap his terrain freshman in the corner downloaded Johnson last touched by terrain Beverly still in man trying to get it to Plouffe Rucker in the corner ten seconds on the shot clock and rocker got fooled by the BHS fan section as they were yelling three two one Abreu Borland seconds left it's got to get a hoop bit fifty seconds ago here now Beverly down five rotting at the top guarded by Rucker he's going to be fouled on the floor he'll shoot one in one sheet one on one here the foul Rucka it's on Rucker ok this give me the third on Rucka eighth on the team forty-four point nine seconds bellies down five three free-throws Veronica then you got a go for sale if you can't get the steal you got a foul right away rotting only two points tonight came in this fourth quarter off the steal knocks to a crucial long hair rotting to cut the lead to go don't foul Beverly pressuring Barbosa he hook in there almost taken away during Zahn the floor Johnson's there is no rotting gets the possession for Beverly I thought that we call timeout for us I believe the jump ball is going to go to them anyway oh good see that's a good to know possession use the table who's got the next possession Aysen stomach is we got the next possession see if you get tied up with that don't waste calling time our possessions going to be to Beverly and it was rotting how about Matt rotting no points entering the fourth quarter as we gonna get a timeout from Beverly rotting no points coming into the fourth quarter a crucial basket off a steal two crucial free throws in a crucial possession arrow for the Panthers nicely pointed that would be pretty nice [Music] now you don't necessarily need a three-pointer now right you want to get if you get that quick ooh take it quick get better to impress defense okay belly still has no yep Ellie still has one file to waste it need be so you can gamble they call foul they call foul they're gonna look the trap Beverly also in the double double bonus if they get fouled 19 fouls for the Rams no I think that class goes one more far before it's a double foul are they having a pip okay me okay bones that's huge Beverly sending out the starting five are you seeing the bones right here Alex look right up there you can't really see it because the divider what's this a 1519 fouls for the Rams huge that's huge 33.9 on the clock Beverly will have a 30-second shot clock I'll tell you bellies doors here this place is gonna be rough the victim of the hoop Rome does it either tie this game I'll put you'd only down one out there for the Rams Johnson Anderson Plouffe Rucker and the freshman Barbosa you can't see it at home but Tom and I are finally standing cardiac caps Beverly Panthers down three Moreland ball driving couldn't get it to go offensive board good foul on Ronny his foot doesn't matter that was a foul to give 28.2 shot clock turned off they really got to go for a steal off the inbound if not you got a foul and you got to know who your 3-point shooters on e you're gonna try to trap Oh turned over Beverly with a possession 25 seconds in the fourth good press and Jalen Johnson's going to limp off for the Rams timeout Beverly down three [Applause] gospel jaylen Johnson with a grab at his knee and his ankle didn't see where he got hurt there it wasn't touched some non-contact injury we'll hope he gets better but that's good news for the Panthers if he's not in for this last these last seconds of the game you know Alex we talked about a measure stick for tonight's game we want to lose and I think when I lose still like I said earlier Beverly's shown they can play with him to talk teams and we keep talking about you know the young they're gonna be you know pretty good next year but I won't throw this year out the window either I taught early in the season like everybody else next year it could be their year with everybody being so young and coming back next year but I also said they're gonna surprise a lot of Jesus you they're gonna surprise a lot of teams we'll just be nice to see another 4001 all right so 25 seconds in the fourth phosphate bell would come out of their time all Huddle's and we are set to go 60 57 blend classically 25 seconds on the clock shot clock turned off [Applause] Abreu getting talk to you about one of the referees I hope it's not any blood on it because he's got to come off it is [Applause] that was scared tuck the shirt in the referee see the blood okay here we go rotting to inbound it to Crowley quickly looked in a rotting for three in the corner kitty cat it the mark offensive board Crowley Abreu with it now 18 on the clock he pulls up no good rebound classical foul they'll get foul and Abreu took that three with 18 seconds on the clock [Applause] well I've been waiting this ain't over yet there's twelve point seven seconds in classical shooter 101 so this is a huge rebound here rebound timeout it's the freshman Barbosa and he's a flower want fouls going to go on Crowley gets his third [Applause] whose 101 in the fourth quarter for a freshman Barbosa first free throw no good rebound Moreland 10 seconds left Abreu in the corner for three no good huh terrain he'll pull up three Weston more time we have one more attempt and it was blocked by Johnson at the end but Beverly had two chances that opened freeze terrain rushed that second one I don't think the rain do we have as much time here a little more time they fought and he thought he just had to catch it and just turning five but you know what hey these kids play they're hot so pole teens both teams I think Beverly is gonna get a lot of respect from a lot of teams after this game tonight and people catch the school tomorrow what happened here the only Fieldhouse great game great game classical coming away with a win here 60 57 in the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse they move up to first place in the NEC north still undefeated leading Beverly in scoring was Luigi terrain with 16 he added three boards as well rotting with a crucial fourth quarter four points for him all in the fourth quarter couple possession changes for him and three rebounds Abreu played very well he was in double figures in Moreland also as well as Crowley in double figures for the Panthers so like we expected a lot of parity in this Beverly scoring and on the limb classical side they played very well as well and they were balanced as well they had Rucker both Johnson's were in the mix Anderson as well in the freshman Barbosa was very impressive his team is tough yeah he played Phillips for freshman I played tonight Beverley made six out of eight free throws in that fourth quarter to a big what free throw shooting kept them in it but again available he's got nothing to hang their heads about they gave them a battle I think you haven't heard the end of Beverly High basketball so Beverly loses their second in three games they'll move on to English later in the week you won't see us for a couple weeks but you'll see me on Friday as the girls will host when English here so for Tom Donovan for Robert Doakes our cameraman Matt Pujo Zach gallant I'm Alex Luke oh thank you for watching Bev cam Sports Network in a lot of plans ladies we'll catch you in a couple of weeks okay hope you enjoy tonight's ballgame and what see [Music] hello and welcome to the Henry Cabot Lodge new house [Music] ages set for him [Music] Oh box three in one in Nancy's Beverly's with a 4-0 record four and one in their own conference girls have enjoyed success this year thanks in large part to freshman ELISA Moreland haven't seen the girls in person yet this year but from what I'm told she's the talk of the town she's averaging a double-double this year over 14 points over 11 boards and she's doing just as good if not better than her brother Duncan who's a sophomore starter the boys team I'm gonna look at the conference standings when it comes to the NEC North and South Sea their Beverly sits at third behind Revere and win classful Beverly just ahead of this Lin English team Malden behind them then Everett Marblehead in Peabody one in four overall this year but that's not something everybody in the area is used to go over to the South danvers at five and one leads the NEC South their lone loss came to the hands of this Beverly girls demon it was the night that the Danvers High School decided to raise their NEC soccer championship banner and I think the girls took too kindly to that and they went into their own house and took care of business after Danvers is Saugus Swampscott Gloucester then Somerville Winthrop Medford and Salem all the way down there won an eighth overall on five and League not doing too well this year are these Salem witches were about two minutes and 20 seconds away from the opening tip-off but from what I'm told tonight is teacher appreciation night here at Beverly High School where Ralston each player selects teacher that has impacted their lives and had a huge part in their success on and off the court in the classrooms and they're gonna recognize their favorite teachers here tonight before the game ladies and gentlemen welcome to the and [Music] [Applause] welcome [Applause] I haven't participated in one of these nights myself a teacher appreciation night here although is a graduate of Beverly High School in 2012 I can confidently say my favorite teacher was Miss Padovani hope she's out there watching only had her for gym class my senior year but she was great [Applause] [Music] and mr.

Cochran [Applause] and finally [Applause] click look at the starting lineups for each side and get the limitless side first you see on your screen we have guards guiding very Menon easy full its rapidly and Abreu Beverly side it's gonna be what you usually see got Anderson morlin Beaudry Gaucho and Bakey [Applause] [Music] Anderson only a sophomore recent years Beverly has seen a lot of young talent develop early and get a starting role see Mellinger get that starting role as a freshman and Lucas got that starting role as a freshman this bereted team is young and ready to take the next step within the coming years we're gonna go to the floor for the national anthem in the presentation of the colors presented by the Beverly ROTC [Music] [Applause] we're about to get underway here at Beverly high school bear with us for the time being Kim will be on a wide shot hopefully for not too long these two teams have two common opponents it is Swampscott as well as Winthrop Beverly wallet Winthrop to start the year and also took care of Swampscott pretty easily when English on the other hand lost to Swampscott but also beat Winthrop pretty easily as well so Beverly to know against common opponents Lin English one in one tip is won by Moreland quickly pushed up anderson has it now Lauren calling forward in the post she gets it out to Gaucho Beaudry driving she'll take a layup with contact no good she's gonna get her own board try to call timeout but when English is gonna take it away and they will fall out of bounds of that possession will change again so good hustle play by Beaudry to get that rebound off the Miss poetry to the corner it's Anderson for three yes number three with the first three points of the game for the Panthers that sophomore Hayley Anderson Beaudry covering up top down low we're gonna get a follow on the floor I believe it's on gaucho her first in the team's first Bulldogs swimming in it around good move off balance shot couldn't get it to go bold early with the rebound she's gonna push another three another mate this time from baekje Panthers quickly out to a six-o lead thanks to two threes from Anderson and bacon long two off the mark rebound Moreland [Applause] not really looking to take charge of this game early this Gaucho has it up top they get it down low to Moreland Anderson thinking about shooting passes it you're shooting passes a shot goes up for two can't get it to go rebound man and Terry looking to go down low so Bray who kicks it out long two off the mark again another rebound Bovary Beaudry rd with three boards in the first two minutes of the game Moreland gets around a defender puts it in for two [Applause] great move by the freshman a toe lead for the Panthers Bulldogs looking to go somewhere with it long free taken by Perry off the mark Beaudry already pushing baekje thinking about another three she slows it down [Applause] rolling on the high post nice looked Anderson who couldn't control it but she keeps it in bounce Moreland going to work on a brave chill get fouled on the floor Braves first Bulldogs first team foul Beaudry two in Bound it they get it to Moreland quickly out to Gaucho working on Perry download a Moreland with the contact she'll shoot to second foul on Abreu she's gonna have probably have to sit down and she will head coach Mackenzie Charles goes to his bench morals first free throw off the mark Ruiz is going to enter for brave second free throw from rolling off the mark as well so over to at the line was the freshman 521 left to go in the first quarter McKenzie Charles gonna take a timeout and rightfully so Beverly came out quick first we had a three from the sophomore Anderson followed up by another three from baekje and Moreland put a nice move down low those are the eight points for the Panthers so far Moreland also adds two boards and an assistant Beaudry with three boards and one assist as well find us online at youtube.com slash Bev cam TV you could be watching this at home right now or you could open up the laptop and watch it there as well two camera angles won't one camera angle but two screens robots coming off a very low-scoring win at Marblehead they won that 33 to 21 highest output for Bulldogs this year they scored 49 that was at Winthrop Beverly's highest total was at Danvers remember undefeated Danvers at the time barely drop to 62 Bulldogs looking to get on the board 5:16 left to go in the first quarter of play corner three can they get it no breeze going for the board she can't handle it either can Moreland it's gonna go out of bounds and leave last touched by the Panthers it's gonna stay with Lynn English inbounding it is parry looking for guy T gets it to her good defense by Beaudry off-balance shot no good it's actually an air ball Ruiz keeps it in Beaudry gets it but has it slapped away possession arrow with the Panthers [Applause] it is a press-on right now from the Bulldogs now in high school girls basketball there's no time limit to get across half court so they have all the time they want as Mullen has all the time she needs to put it in for two it's just coming from Anderson on that one then you get a foul on the floor believe it's gonna go on Beaudry she was guarding guy T another sub for the Bulldogs hairy out in her place will be can Manny Dorsett a freshman are we still leading ten nothing first points of the game score by the Bulldogs gonna come from Nanna [Applause] the Anderson makes the girl miss gosh is there another three from baekje another make six points for baekje Beverly off to a 13-2 lead just over four left to play in the first nice hesitation step into for guiding Beaudry pushing it that she quickly beats the press she has Moreland gets it to her kicks it out to baekje he checked for three no good it's gonna stay with the Panthers last touched by the Bulldogs excuse me is gonna go to the Bulldogs kaity guarded by Beaudry she's gonna go left think about a shop how software sent away by Moreland three four men and off the mark rebound gosh moon trying to get it through but it's deflected by the freshmen on win English we just got an update from the boys game at Lin English thank you to Tom Donovan end of the first quarter Beverly leading 1714 we turn over here the Panthers guide he's gonna try to take it all the way herself guarded by baekje with contact no foul called rebound Moreland she's already pushing gets it off to Anderson nice stop and a nice shot but no good it's coming the other way now [Applause] linguist slowing it down man up top he's gonna drive right children called for a travel she wasn't the freshman gonna take a shot no good Moreland her fourth board turned over just past half court come the other way now guy T gonna slow it down man in for three off the mark another rebound for bogey from the other way she quickly gets it all the way up the court locked away by manon but paul drewes charging behind her trying to come up with the steal she can't [Applause] inbound almost stolen by baekje Ruiz's on the ground it's gonna be a jump ball gonna be Beverly's ball excuse me it's gonna go with lineage first substitution for the Panthers tonight he's gonna come out she has six points nice little ovation for her in her place will be the 15 Kylee McCarthy a freshman to freshman on the floor for the Panthers and we're gonna get it blocking foul on Beverly second foul on Gaucho first free throw taken by man and is good we've learn English with three of their five points off the mark on the second Moreland's gonna chase it down [Music] bouldery driving right has it poked away Anderson's there dodge McCarthy Anderson in the corner trying to get it down to Moreland Scotch now trying to get it down to Moreland again - hi goes the other way 142 left to go in the first Beverly leading 13 5 Bulldogs have done a good job in the past few minutes neutralizing this Beverly offense as that offensive boards from Manon leads to a putback and two points for the Bulldogs man in five and three in the first quarter for Lynn English cuts his dirty lead down to six Mullins just going to take it herself they gave her space she's gonna miss that offensive board taken by God but it's quickly stolen one on three guide he's gonna take it herself she'll be fouled Beaudry already has one this might be - and it's not gonna be on McCarthy that's her first first we throw from guy D is good couple subs for the Panthers Anderson and Gaucho out baekje back in along with Delaney spray second free throw from guy D is also good so when English is closing this gap as Perry will reenter for guy D on the Bulldogs sign Beaudry past half court [Applause] rollin going to work gets away with a hook there and she misses that one trying to do it all herself offensive board trying to go up maybe called for a foul there it's gonna be a jump ball will stay with the Panthers Moreland definitely trying to do things all herself they're 4 points 6 boards at an assists for the freshman it's calling for it right now nobody honor puts it up easy to off the mark though offensive board putback she'll be fouled Moreland is something to be reckoned with here in the NEC only a freshman definitely seems to have that killer instinct her and her brothers share that foul is going to go on Perry that's her first Moreland perfectly from the line tonight [Music] that one from Moreland is good once before at the line she's now Beverly Leeds 14 to nine only one sled eight excuse me ten nothing and since then fennel in English on a nine four run man and driving right sent away by Moreland with two hands emphatic block gold regarded by guy T two poked away taken by Perry and poll jury's gonna get called for a foul old Beaudry walks right over to the ref almost to Artie it's gonna be her second Anderson's gonna check back in and replace her [Music] [Applause] let me use the clock here ten seconds left guy tees charging guarded by McCarthy into the lane McCarthy gets a hand on a great play by the freshman McCarthy doesn't get fooled by the fancy footwork and just grabs the ball English still has possession 4.2 on the clock mid-range Jay sent away by Anderson he might get another shot but they don't put a great job by Beverly to stand pat Anderson with that block at the end of the first quarter and Sprague grabbing the board there Beverly leading 14 nine after one they came out hot they were leading 10 nothing Moreland has five points Anderson with three Becky with six Beverly three total three-point field goals made and Beverly was up stuff to a great start like I said up 10 nothing then it was a 9 to 2 run Berlin English and then they added two more points make it air ended at a 9 to 4 run at the end of that first quarter after that timeout called by head coach McKenzie Charles that neutralized the Beverly offense in frustrated Moreland a bit but didn't frustrate her too much because first quarter play she's got 5 points and 7 boards Beverly sending out the lineup with two freshmen Moreland and McCarthy also gonna send out Anderson as well Bragg and bacon [Applause] [Music] five team fouls for the Panthers in that first quarter three for the Bulldogs McCarthy gets it to Anderson Moreland calling for it started by Ruiz Bakey fakes the three great space along two off the mark to be chased down given right to Moreland who goes up for a shot she'll be fouled 1 for 4 at the line tonight is Moreland she'll try to try to improve that struggles from the line continue Paul is gonna be on Ruiz on the Glenn English side it's her first team's fourth and Moreland gets that one to go well on her way to a double-double already 6 and 7 [Music] Guiding taking a pic from man and she's not even gonna use it she's gonna go through get it taken away by baekje she'll slow it down get it to Anderson she has some space she slows up quickly gets it to baekje looking for McCarthy and she's there Sprague now takes a pic from warlin McCarthy driving drops it off to Sprague thinking about a shot she'll be looked like she was punched in the face by a guy - I know it's not what it was but from this angle in the first foul on guy T McCarthy Anderson trying to get it down low to Moreland the game plan she's quickly double-teamed as she seems to be throughout this game great move by guy T to go behind McCarthy but she can't finish the bunny rebound Bakey quickly coming the other way Anderson for three no good offensive board Moreland out to Bakey the three off the mark Moreland almost going away with another offensive board days [Applause] Manon drops it off guiding thinking about a freak kicks it out the freshmen IARC on the shot no good Moreland chasing it down she can't get it man and does she's got four boards [Applause] new shot clock for the Bulldogs guy T drops it off Moreland bites on the pump fake from three little floater no good then we grabbed violent English sent away by Moreland that's gonna be her third block of the evening we're gonna get a foul on Beverly Lynn English will shoot two gonna be Sprague's first first free throw no good couple subs for the Bulldogs echeverria enters second free throw also off the mark from rally and other board for Moreland 9 already not even halfway through the second quarter Anderson open free can't knock it down getting a lot of open looks Beaudry about to check back in for the Panthers two fouls for her to coach Stan shal its own there to be cautious but not too conscious you want to play timid out there on defense [Music] Bakey playing good de on the edge Anderson trying to redirect that shot she can't that's the 10th hoard already for Moreland and I'm gonna need a new score book can't fit anymore already got 10 5:16 left to go on the second Beverly leads 15 9 pass poked away McCarthy for three can't get it to go Moreland tips it over to Anderson who Corral's it he gets a fresh shot clock [Music] [Applause] Anderson drives on echeverria fouled on the floor by Echevarria that's her 416 foul on the Bulldog in Beaudry will enter now for Sprague Sprague had two boards and a block there in her minutes one more follow for each and the other team maybe in the one and one Anderson for three yes off the inbound play Anderson knocks it down she has six nighty drives by Moreland redirects the shot there another block for her and another rebound playing like a woman possessed 18 9 Beverly lead was turned over by the Panthers quickly into the hands of guy T she's got wheels stopped the shot no good she gets her own board and redirected again by Mary five blocks she's doing it all as head coach says Stan shil will call the timeout as his team leads 89 for 17 left to go in the first half and ELISA Moreland has been as advertised six points 10 boards five blocks in one assist in less than 12 minutes of play I don't know how you can impact the game more than that as a freshman no less Anderson had six points off of two threes Bakey with six points also off of two threes coach Stan shalls' third season coaching the Beverly girls for this yet a brief stint coaching the boys here at Beverly only five players in tonight's game have scored the three for Beverly is Marlon Anderson and Bakey and the two fluent English our men and guide Gaddy with four Mannion with five although not many girls on the Beverley side have scored their presence is felt Beaudry's presents very much felt for boards all in that first quarter playing great defense Sprague had a block dodge also with some key defensive plays and also the freshman McCarthy coming up with a key stop the end of that first quarter and be a travel [Music] we've reached the 4-minute mark in the second quarter Anderson thinking about a free gets it download a Beaudry trying to kick it out she's getting double-teamed last pass deflected by guy T it'll stay on this end 18 on the shot clock for the Panthers McCarthy back to Becky another three no good Moreland kicks it out like she's Tyson Chandler right into the hands of boldly who misses the attempt died he pulls it back Mandan thinking about a three back to guy T thing I noticed log ID she's not settling for those shots she likes to get to the rim use her speed only four points but she's definitely got handles and a good finish and as I say that she chops up a three-inch emails waiting for her time to shine seven points for guy T cuts this Beverley lead down to six 1812 now [Applause] McCarthy looking to get it to Moreland can be foul called on guy T and Moreland will be at the line to shoot one and one that's the second on guy T 1 2 for 6 at the line tonight and Perry will enter the game for a guy T after she gets her second foul struggles continue for Moreland open three from the freshman off the mark release trying to corral what she does man and kicks it out to Perry coach wanted her to take that shot or take the lane she had an open one gonna get a kick on the Panthers substitution as McCarthy comes out and got enters pitches area back to Perry man and calling for it at the high post freshmen mid-range J off the mark Morgan rebound number 12 Anderson to Beaudry in the corner Moreland going in at will with two bodies honored uses that frame drops his shoulder creates the space for two to say I've been commentating basketball here at Beverly for about five six years I have not seen a more dominating player on the boys or girls side as I have ELISA Moreland where she tracks that one down here's the hoping Beverly can keep her here nice move can't get to finish but chic is all over the place pushing people over she'll get called for that foul not a dirty play just being aggressive always wanting that ball first foul on Marlins gonna be one and one for the Bulldogs now echeverria first of a one and one no good dodge coming away with the board boldly pushing it up he's got a lane she gets tripped up there gets the ball out somehow to baekje 4-3 who can't get it to go but Moreland almost trashed down the loose ball minute 30 left to go in the first half Beverly leads by 8 both teams in the bonus at Chavarria for three off the mark baekje good box-out ends up on the floor it's gonna be a battle for the ball gonna stay with the Bulldogs [Applause] and the two fouls guy to Erie enters for the last minute or so of the first half clearly they need her spark in that speed on the offensive side immediately makes the difference when she's on the court freshman trying to get by baekje good job by her staying pat tidy being given a shot she's gonna drive left pull up no good tracked down by manon who has an open shot but she gets it off the guy th of a rien L drops it back to the freshman pump fake could've been called for a travel that wasn't Manon up for - sent away by Anderson that's her second block of the night this Beverly clean eight blocks in the first half Beaudry now with 38 left on the clock Anderson for three no good guide he grabs it 25 on the clock 20 on the shot clock that's a faria a three can't get it to go we're gonna get a foul levy push on Ruiz it's her second ball and shoot in the 1 and 1 2 for 7 at the line tonight one thing I remember coach Tom Donovan saying after watching her in that game against I believe Winthrop just needs to work on her free-throw shooting got good form good touch just a matter of getting the reps up she misses another one shot clock turned off 15 seconds in the first half 2012 Beverly lead moorland lunges forward can be called for a foul her second they don't see that often lunging forward with two hands trying to go for that block she's done that a few times tonight seems to work Harry knocks it down [Applause] she's got an update from the boys game Beverly leads Lynne English at the half 39 22 second free throw off the mark Gaucho with the board six seconds on the clock poetry all the way down she'll be fouled she'll shoot two it's one way to do it three point nine on the clock foul was on Dorsey Rowland's gonna get a breather here [Applause] Sprague enters Beaudry one for two at the line first points for Beaudry die t last second shot can she get it to go off the mark Beverley takes a 21-13 lead into the locker room after one half Beverly with four scores Beaudry with that free throw was her first points Becky she has six off of two threes Anderson also with six off of two threes she adds a board and an assist got no points but she's got three boards Sprague no points but she has two and the story of the first quarter first half and the first part of this season is freshman Alyssa Moreland eight points for her to go along with one assist 13 rebounds in five blocks in the first quarter I can't even do that in 2k with the sliders all the way up I don't know how she's doing it she's having a great first half we'll see if she can continue this momentum for the Panthers and leave them to win here at home against Lin English you you are watching Bev cam here anyone can come to the studio to make their own local TV show contact us with your idea we'll help you you realize unless they've been through it how can they understand I don't need this no one's going to judge suddenly everything was turned around because they insist that I just try all it took was someone who would just listen [Music] everything starts out small the things that hurt us they all start from somewhere the words we say the things we do that can grow into something else what was small and innocent can become big and sometimes scary all it takes is one comment one picture one video for something to catch fire but a big problem doesn't need a big response not at first we don't know what to say the eye emoji can be that first step we take let's all pledge to take that first small step together and change the world in a big way I am a witness and so are you [Music] you creativity is putting your imagination to work and it's produced the most extraordinary results in human culture you dreams come from inspiration inspiration comes from an idea and ideas come from creativity we believe in raising up a new generation of creative minds and it all starts with you helped sponsor the award-winning Beverly High School media program so the students can have the resources they need to make dreams happen you [Music] [Applause] [Music] back at the enemy cabin watch she knows matchup between hold on 21:13 into the second half and because all Alyssa Moorman all the time they are in that first half she had eight points to go with 13 boards five blocks and one assist for good measure although she was too frayed at the line had a very good first half for the Panthers and while we're here and have some time we're going to show you what you've missed over this long break between games here on Bev cam for the Beverly girls basketball team had four games first one was a tournament game against reading they lost that 3738 they also lost the second round of that tournament 3644 against Bishop Fenwick now good thing those two losses do not count against the conference record to the Panthers which is four and one then they went to Danvers took a win 62-54 best game for the Panthers this season the highest point total they went into an undefeated NEC South foe in the Danvers falcons and took that one right from underneath them four days later they went to learn classical lost that one forty nine thirty two tough loss 17 points they couldn't really get anything going offensive William there's only so much that this team can do when everybody doesn't work together now that being said Beverly coming in licking their wounds and they're taking it out on this Lin English team they started it out in the first half on a 1000 run slowed down a little bit but in that second quarter picked up a little bit for the Panthers when these three points were scored excuse me four points were scored by no excuse me three points were scored in that second quarter violent English and on the Beverly side only 11 in that second quarter for both teams [Applause] now to those games we just showed you we're gonna have ramifications later on most recently it's gonna be on Monday when classical will come here it's gonna be the only home and home for the Panthers this season that's on Martin Luther King Day that game will be at 3:00 and then they'll also see Bishop Fenwick later in the year it's gonna be on February 18th so a couple chances at redemption for the Panthers as we start this second half Beaudry trying to go down low to Moreland kicks it out to Anderson back to Moreland she's catching the double-team Anderson's gonna put it up for two she got it good shot from Anderson eight points for her see the Panthers adjusting when the snows are gonna try to get it down to the big girl and when they do they're gonna double-team gonna leave people open on the wings and Moreland found Anderson there for an easy two shot from Perry that's good from three [Applause] both teams trading early baskets in the first 40 seconds Anderson has that one taken away and Beaudry pokes it away from Perry it's gonna watch that one say a lot of bounds good job from Boger to chase it down and poke it away good crossover floater good that's guiding English coming out with purpose 23 18 Beverly still leading Moreland the double team drops it off to bake he puts it up for two [Applause] mullein understands what living which is trying to do the first two buckets for the Panthers this quarter coming off of Moreland assists when she's gotten double-teamed not trying to do too much in this third quarter she's taking what the defense is giving her and if she they give her an open lane like that she's gonna drop a spin move and drop tote already a double-double for Alyssa Moreland ten points 14 boards five blocks sheesh the wards LeBron James sheesh locked by Moreland that's six last touched by the Bulldogs it's going the other way we could be looking at a triple-double as my producer - whispering into my into my ear ever so softly she gets a triple-double with blocks I'll custom make a Jersey and wear it every Friday night free from Andersen no good offensive board Moreland putback can't get it to go but she gets another board of course then she'll shoot two after that foul barely leading 27:18 Moreland shooting to 2 for 8 from the line in that first half it's gonna miss that one and gonna get a technical maybe from one English head coach if he doesn't be careful waving his arms up and down complaining about that foul call Moreland can't knock those down to 410 at the line [Applause] [Music] [Applause] sky D calling for a pic she gets one drops attack Manon good move floater off the mark she'll get her own board she'll be fouled believe it's gonna be on Moreland don't agree with that I don't did not see a foul there [Applause] it's Moreland's third Manon can we call for the offensive foul what's gonna be on Anderson I don't agree with that I don't want to be a Tommy Heinsohn but two bad calls in a row from the Zebras I might pull a Bobby Knight from a chair from up here [Applause] good defense by gaucho as Anderson comes away with the board Anderson drops it down two points that's Lea white here the freshman boy is this team poised for success now and in the future multiple freshmen from the Panthers contributing tonight white hair most recently we have Moreland B and all the dirty work down low as Beaudry is going to be called for a carry [Applause] 29:24 44 left to go on the third quarter English still hanging around trying to do what they can with Moreland on the bench after collecting her third foul [Applause] post move off the mark white hair grabs the board she'll be fouled as I was saying three freshmen flee tonight for the Panthers of course Moreland she's in white hair and he saw McCarthy in as well the key defensive stop at the end of the first quarter the Anderson drops it off to white hair kicks it out poultry in traffic gets it to go ball three three points now on the night white hair since entering the game of moments ago two points aboard and an assist already time out Lynn English Beverly 31 20 lead with 401 left to go in the third quarter now he said that halftime score for the boys was 39 22 in favor of the Panthers I read that wrong that's why I have glasses they must have nothing on Flynn English was leading it to half 39:22 for the boys and follow us on twitter at Bev underscore cam follow me on Twitter two of you one at a salute o AAS al you see Co usually do this thing where we'd asked viewers to ask me questions but the only questions I got were from then athletic director James coughs he asked me what my favorite color was and case you're wondering it's yellow good move by guy T gets by a few defenders drops it in for two nighty with six points this quarter he's got 13 tonight leads all scorers Anderson gets around a defender long two off the back iron [Applause] JT trying to continue this magic got six in the quarter alone crossover pull up Jay no good rebound white hair going the other way now Beaudry gonna try to push it she has baekje thinking about a three this is it down the got she has white hair open he puts it on the floor Woo's is it gonna be called for a foul that I don't agree with again I'm not usually a homer folks but something about the way these refs are calling these fouls I just don't like I don't know [Music] last few files on Beverly too quick to the whistle and my opponent Bulldogs moving around 14 in the shot clock Perry trying to get down low back out to Perry thought about the shot get in double-team she'll step out of bounds ball going the other way [Applause] [Music] poked away by guy T she can't keep it in bounds very close Bulldogs are gonna keep pressing watch is gonna inbound it she has white hair gets it to Anderson baking out good job by the Panthers beating the Press Beaudry with some space she'll pull up floater no good Bulldogs will watch it sail out of bounds and they'll take possession [Music] [Applause] rolling off the bench she's gonna check in momentarily kicks it back out to Perry she can't keep it in balance she does keep it in balance Wow guy T to the freshmen just off the mark white hair being pushed up Anderson with it now she's going to drive baseline floater two minutes left in this third [Applause] mid-range day from guy T she gets it to go eight points for her in the third quarter the senior keeping the Bulldogs in it single-handedly cuts the lead down to seven Bulgaria's spin over to Anderson in the corner looking to get down low to white hair eventually it's got working on the block no good Perry coming the other way minute and a half left to go Bulldogs with some momentum guy T will it be a charge it's going to be a block in again I don't agree seems like every calls going against the Panthers right now is nothing more Beaudry could do there that's her third foul whereas we throw from guy D off the mark we're going to have a couple freshmen enter for baekje in god shits Moreland and McCarthy so three freshmen sophomore and a junior out there for the Panthers this is the future of Beverly High girls basketball you're watching right now has McCarthy comes away with that board bogey nice hesitation step she's fouled by guiding she'll shoot two Gaddy now with three fouls she has to be careful Beverly really struggling at the line tonight [Music] that one's good from Beaudry she's 2 for 4 at the line for points tonight for boards and 2 assists to go with it [Applause] Longtooth from Perry Morlan with the board pulls it up gets it to Beaudry [Applause] Anderson down low to Moreland tries to use that spin and they're saying it goes off Moreland didn't quite see even if she didn't kick it which I don't think she did it all which the ref indicated I do believe she touched it last with her arm reaching for it [Applause] 32:24 Harry open freak she takes it and it knock it down McCarthy another board she's going to start to charge and that's a good call that's a travel poetry calming her down [Applause] told you when their captain's on this team to go along with Sprague in Gaucho [Applause] 18 seconds on the clock 15 on the shot clock Bulldogs might try to hold but they did last time waiting for about 10 seconds and made a charge is what they're doing again Perry echeverria throws it up she gets fouled don't know how that's not a carry and now coach Stan shil not liking these refs [Music] [Applause] if only we had replay [Music] echeverria at the line this is the first [Applause] second free-throw is good 2.9 Panthers are gonna try to get a shot off Beaudry doesn't even make it to the hoop so at the end of three Beverly least 30 to 25 in that third quarter for Panthers scored Moreland only had two she sat for most of it with foul trouble Beaudry had three of her own one field goal in one free throw anderson petomane rage jumper and Bakey also had two points of her own now Lin English eight points coming from guide III coming from Perry one from that free throw from echeverria so when English actually won that third quarter by a score of 12 to 9 cutting this Beverly down to 7 in the process journalist Moreland filling that stat sheet 10 points 17 boards 6 blocks 3 assists the end of 3 we have a update from the boys named Atlin English when English still leading 57:40 over the boys [Applause] Beverly sends out Morland GOC Anderson McCarthy and Beaudry eight minutes to play Beverly has seven points to work with JT drives off the mark last touched by McCarthy [Applause] Dorsey gets it to Mannin off the mark offensive board we get a foul on the floor again on McCarthy it's gonna be her third one Moreland English will be shooting 1 & 1 Dorsey wide open on the inbound play she takes the three off the bank she gets it with her first points coming in a big spot cuts this Beverly lead down to four drivings Anderson how do you not call a foul there as the fan in me screams McCarthy for three off the mark coming the other way now we're gonna get a technical on Stan shal and I don't like that I do not like that call it on it's refs like these that want to make this show about them clearly a foul on Anderson she got mugged how are you not gonna call that blatant foul tell ya I might talk to the refs after that's probably not in the coward first we throw from guy T off the mark the other referee over talking to Stan shal we be playing a little good Ref bad ref 90 second free throws good in a call like that in a crucial point in this game where Lenny which has the momentum now when you just add that Beverly leading 32 29 but this lead is dwindling as all the momentum seems to be on the Bulldog side and we're gonna get a foul on the Bulldogs maybe a gimme call but I'll take it it's gonna go on a break as her third [Applause] Anderson [Applause] bulled rial bulldogs pressing the defense from Dorsey's Moreland with it pauses for a second gets it to Beaudry McCarthy takes a pick from gosh she drives right all the way to the hoop can't get it to go swatted away it'll stay with the Panthers laughs touched by Dorsett [Applause] Beaudry to in bound it trying to get it to Moreland they get a torque dominating forces Moreland but she can't get that to go 645 left to go on the fourth hairy guy T to one possession game English has not had a lead all night turnaround J off the mark rebound Moreland 19 for her she'll have 20 well before the Knights done McCarthy now games getting tight Moreland can't hold on to it but she grabs it it's gonna be a jump ball it's gonna stay with the Panthers someone who couldn't handle it she jumps on it keeps the possession as McCarthy exits and Bakey will enter baekje eight points tonight Anderson from the corner gonna get a whistle foul she'll shoot three few nights ago we saw - Scotty Abreu make a three in that same quarter when he got fouled for a four-point play but Anderson will settle for three free throws and guy tees fourth foul when won't roll Aptus said as Anderson knocks down the first of three he's got nine tonight knocks it down double figures for Anderson the guy T will have to sit here by farlan English his best player leading scorer of the whole night she's got 16 in the Anderson knocked down all three clutch free throws from the sophomore Beverly 35 English 29 608 left to play in the fourth Perry thinking about a three work it down stolen by Moreland that's her first deal tonight let's see what she does with it coast to coast action for two doing everything stat sheet filler 37:29 Panther lead 551 to go in the fourth and as momentum shifted to the Bulldogs Beverly gains momentum right back after watching this game I believe I've said it many times but I'm just gonna keep saying it I've never seen any more dominating figure in Beverly basketball whether it's boys or girls and this freshman was someone completely filling the stat sheet 12 points 19 boards 6 blocks 3 assists in a steal we see her do it for the girls in her brother only a sophomore Duncan more lip does it nightly for the boys as well we have to start naming courts after these two [Applause] [Music] English coming out of the timeout guy T back in will likely see her in on offense as much as possible but as she takes that three wouldn't be surprised if Mackenzie Charles elects to take her out when the Bulldogs are on defense as much as possible sent away by Moreland again seven blocks give me some more it's a block party here don't bring kool-aid into a grown girls party three blocks away from a triple double is Moreland gets another one there that's eight and nine not two blocks in one possession and gets her own board are you kidding me 12 points twenty boards nine blocks eat and up top looking for baekje she gets it to Gaucho baekje down low is poked away they're almost taken by Perry we're gonna get a possession arrow it's gonna go to the Bulldogs 501 in the 437 29 Beverly lead both teams in the bonus guy T good handles can't get past Beaudry the IT drives left on Moreland there's the tenth block there's the triple-double sheesh Robert you want a highlight reel to go on Twitter and on Facebook tomorrow I have one word sheesh that's all you have to say as Beaudry's they're in the backcourt she's going to try to put it away for two she can't put moorlands there to grab the board she'll be fouled on the floor [Applause] Morland will shoot one and one notch the first down an oxen bolt down first time we've seen that tonight from warlin flow through 12 but she's hitting him when they count in the fourth quarter Beverly up 39:29 426 left to go in the fourth another block another one for good measure that's 11 for her gets the own rebound she's going to try to take it close to coast in there ain't nobody stopping number 20 for the Beverly Panthers timeout Lin English 41:29 lead for the Panthers in an historic game from freshman Alyssa Moreland triple-double 16 points 22 boards 11 blocks and three assists and a steal just to sprinkle some other stuff in oh and she's a freshman English one on the good run at the end of that third in the very beginning of the fourth momentum seeing the shift they were within three it was thirty two twenty nine at one point Beverly lead but Beverly since going on an I know run in almost taken away all hopes rule in English night II takes the pic mid-range J no good another rebound Moreland why not not like you don't have twenty two already let's get 23 Beaudry just going to take it herself sees an open lane Moreland there for the putback and 118 24 11 blocks like I said if I was playing to K and adjust with my sliders all the way up I couldn't do it better knock that down 4329 foul went on Ruiz that's her fourth [Applause] [Music] nighty drives by no good boater he gets the board tawdry finds baekje no good thought trying to get in there for the rebound she wins the possession for the Panthers heads up play by the senior captain knowing this one's not over voting will inbound three from baekje off the mark Moreland another rebound another foul rollin 19 points trying to get 20 20 game for her in that first free throw does it 20 points 25 boards 11 blocks I know I've said it 8,000 times I'm gonna keep saying that that is one impressive stat line baekje offensive board possession alive we're gonna get a foul [Applause] the fifth foul one guy t-shi fouls out she had a great game by far the best player on the winning glitch side finishes with 16 points Beverley shooting to there in the extra bonus the free-throws missed from baekje three that's a Veria trying to make it interesting she doesn't believe that might have grazed the Morlan at the end it didn't that she was boxing out on the play three minutes five seconds left to go in the fourth Beverly up 45:29 bogan [Music] thank you we're gonna get a foul on Ruiz can't blame or you got to do whatever you can to keep boiling out of that paint the way she's been eating tonight full course meal and another foul out for Lin English as Abreu sits down with her v Moreland shoots too much better through throw shooting in the second half especially in this fourth quarter five made free throws for her the fourth quarter alone [Applause] the English trying to give Beverly a little run for their money towards a notice this forth but this games all but over Beverly already looking for Lin classical on Monday they'll host them here the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse it's gonna be at 3 p.m.

[Music] welcome to meet the court I'm your host Joe Johnson meet the court has brought two as a public service by the Superior Court of New Jersey in Atlantic and Cape May counties as well as the Cape May Institute of Technology to better inform you the public on the workings of the court and the role of the judiciary in our communities today's topic adult drug court what is it who does it serve and what are the community benefits of this diversionary program our guest today the Honorable Mark Sanson presiding judge of the Chancery part and drug court and John bond court services supervisor in the Atlantic County Probation Office overseeing adult drug court program welcome gentlemen Thank You July but before we begin can you tell us a little bit about yourself judge we'll start with you very good yeah my name is Mark Sanson I'm a native of Atlantic City I've lived in South Jersey Atlantic Cape May County my entire life I practiced law for approximately 30 years before becoming a judge since I became a judge I've been a judge for about 11 years I practiced the Family Division the Criminal Division and I took over the drug court in Cape May and Atlantic County's about a year ago okay and there we are thank you John please tell us about your background thanks Gerard I actually started with a dude Ishi area in 2001 as a probation officer and I took over the mental health caseload at that point time in 2007 I came on board as the drug court supervisor you know prior to 2001 I was a youth worker foster own coordinator drug and alcohol assessment work are all sorts of different things within the Human Services field I've been in the area for approximately 21 years at this point in time okay well now that we know a little bit more about you let's turn to our topic judge the first question is for you what is the philosophy of drug court addiction is a disease we understand a lot about the science of addiction at this point in time and what we try and do in drug court is to match the science of addiction and the proven nature of the disease of addiction with recovery abstinence being clean and sober for a period of time does not equal recovery the theory of drug court is that to deal with some of the the psychological the behavioral aspects of addiction the only real real answer is treatment treatment really is two things one an understanding of your disease and two the adoption of a sober lifestyle with sober friends and and being part of a sober support network through your AAA NA meetings and the sober lifestyle until we found out until someone can adopt a sober lifestyle abstinence alone from drugs or alcohol is not enough to lead to a long-term recovery and I think that in a few words is the reef is the is the philosophy behind modern drug court in New Jersey okay so how does the drug court process differ from traditional criminal court cases the other courts in Mays Landing and in Cape May courthouse in the criminal division are based upon a principle of crime and punishment if you commit a crime we're going to assess whether you either admit to the commission of the crime you're found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury and then the judges function is to conduct the trial and then to determine what the reasonable and fair punishment is for that crime drug court is a treatment court we don't deal with the crime and punishment model we understand addiction as a disease and we don't punish people for having a disease that's an archaic concept realize now as such by our courts by the judiciary so what we do is we take people into drug court and we provide treatment not punishment treatment itself is a continuum based on need not based on guilt not based on whether you're bad or good most of the people in drug court are very good people who have a disease so we try to we try to meet on a very scientific basis the degree of addiction and the type of addiction with the appropriate treatment and the advantage we have in drug court is we have the resources to pay for that treatment in many cases people have these addictions don't have access to two doctors or two treatment facilities because they don't have the appropriate insurance in there they don't have the money to do it drug court does provide the resources to provide access to first-class treatment so what role does the drug court judge play in drug court trial court judge I think more than anything else in John can comment on this because he's also in drug court with the probation department which is another integral part of our operation but I'm the I mean I guess the the traffic cop at the at the foot of drug court you have to come in you have to convince me that you're serious about wanting to recover and that you have a capacity to recover we perform a task evaluation therapeutic assessment services for the court is called a task evaluation we answer two questions before they come in one are they clinically dependent upon drugs or alcohol and two what is the level of treatment it's my job to to take them in the drug drug court and to make sure that the type of treatment that they're matched with is appropriate for their level of addiction and it is extremely successful it is successful in an area where there's very little success outside of long term follow-up the key to the key to drug court is we have the ability to follow up on on a defendant because these are criminal defendants who are accused of committed an indictable offense we have the ability to follow them up up to five years but there have been some very exciting movements in terms of our drug court manual that reduces that to two and a half years of follow-up and that has been a very successful development and that's really the story that John and I are here to tell is how drug court is changing to meet the needs of more of our citizens in New Jersey for this terrible epidemic that we see going on around us you talk about the terrible epidemic that we see around us that includes the opioid epidemic and issues of that nature I do know that nationally drug court has models have been really expanded so can we talk about briefly how the drug court is funded we funded by through the judiciary of the state of New Jersey we also have access to other types of state and federal grants all of that serve as a conduit to go out to helping addicts in our community the truly exciting thing about landing in Cape May County which is one judicial group called vicinage is that we've expanded our drug court in just the last year from about 350 to almost 750 people in Atlantic in Cape May counties we have probably the largest drug court in the state of New Jersey which means that we can affect more people's lives we can get more people in the long term recoveries that combined with our new drug court process which shortens the length of probation to potentially two and a half years from five years we can move more people on a continuous basis basis through drug court and therefore get more people into long-lasting recoveries this is meet the court I'm your host Joe Johnson will be back with judge Samson and John bond after this message [Music] hello my name is Tom Hegarty I'm a sergeant at the Kami County Sheriff's Office and some of the things you should know when you enter any of our courthouses is once you come in they're going to be screened by an officer at the front desk so what you should not have on you is any weapons tools anything that want to slow down that process you're going to come in put all your metal objects up on the counter step through the metal detector listening to the officers direction once you step through don't let you know whether you can continue on or whether you should stop if he stops you you may have to be wanted with a wand detect anything else you may have on you that that's not picking on sir so to speed your your trip along this help come in because there may be lines when you come in and there may be delays so you want to get here early and you also less mob checks on you that will impede your progress welcome to meet the court I'm your host Joe Johnson my guests today are judge marks Anson and John bond and we're discussing adult drug court and its overall benefits to the community so John how does adult drug court probation differ from regular probation there's quite a quite a bit difference between the two on an adult regular probation caseload you might see your officer for maybe once a month you may be tested once every three months depending on whether it's been ordered by the court or not so there's not really that much of a relationships that has developed at that by that officer with the client and again depending on what their list the risk level is it could it be coming coming in even less than that now on a drug court supervision it's a completely different ballgame the the probation officers kind of parts a social worker part law enforcement and part sounding-board so they see their people at least twice a week they're seen where they see the judge on a Tuesday but they're also on the community seem and if they're in their jobs at their homes in the field every time that you see that person they're also being tested as well so they have to test them a minimum of twice a twice a week throughout most of their time with an drug court as part of the random drug screens ensure that they're doing what they're supposed to be doing and remaining and they were recovery mode and following through with everything that the the judge is instructing them to do so by by having that kind of close relationship with the defender you become very invested in their recovery and very invested in them kind of succeeding you know our goal is as probation officers drug court is to get them through the process help them with as much as we can because it's getting the system set up getting different services set up so that when they're done with drug court we'll never see them again as a future participant they can come back and see us as a company somebody's dropping and say hey John how you doing I'm doing well as opposed to see in the back in front of a judge Hanson or judge Lourie or somebody else with more criminal activity so it's a lot more intensive also our drug court probation officers are on call 24 hours seven hours seven days a week so something happened is happening after hours they can call them for emergency versus the basis as I as mi as well so they always have that kind of conduit to the court system after hours as well as during the day we always like tend to rely on the regular support says but where there is a backup for them at all times as well okay judge what can participants expect from drug court from your perspective well they they plead in the drug court and the first thing they do is get into treatment as I said before a treatment is a continuum based upon need so we go on the low end of need outpatient which is aan a other 12-step type meetings we go from there to eiope intensive outpatient and then for a higher level of need they go to short-term inpatient which is your traditional 28-day program and thereafter we have long-term inpatient which is four to six months all of which are paid for by the state of New Jersey through the drug court program in short-termer long term we also could have an additional layer called a halfway house which is four months after they are released from their inpatient and that would be to stabilize their housing stabilize their medical conditions and provide that much more supervision before they go back into the community and they then resume their there put their place in the community getting back all the things they've lost one of the continual themes of drug court is to remind people what they've lost through their addiction they lose their license they lose their job they lose their families they lose their integrity and then thereafter at the end they lose their freedom what we try to do through the drug court process is give them back each one of those things and now we have a two and a half year program a 30 month program when we graduate people at the end of the day we they pretty much have all the things that they've lost back plus the great innovation in modern drug court in New Jersey which makes the program so unique is we can provide a full and complete expungement of their record many many convictions we iook sponged somebody who had 72 convictions just the other day so we expunge the records so when we say at the end of two and a half years they're getting a second chance it's a legitimate second chance without an extensive criminal record because we all know that when you go to get a job you're asked two questions what's your name they do ask that then second have you ever convicted of a crime a drug court graduate can circle know or check no because in fact there the record has been expunged so the whole program is really based upon treating the entire individual in a holistic manner and then at the end giving them a second chance at life that's why the program is successful so John from your perspective what can participants expect from drug court for probation well the pro probation they expect to be told upfront you know what the reality is the situation are they expect they can expect to to be heard they can expect their their concerns and their their interest to be looked at they can expect to be told on a regular basis what the realities are what's true they're not true there's a lot of misconceptions and misinformation amongst the participants community as far as what's right and wrong and what they can expect not good and not expect but the drug court probation officer will always be upfront with them and again there's the conduit for the rest of the team as far as ensuring that what the judge is telling them what the rest of the team is telling him is getting reiterated to the to do participant so honesty and integrity it would be the main things okay honesty is key you can't recover without honesty it's basic a a and n/a literature that honesty anybody who can be honest can recover and honesty begins not only with honesty the court that's small potatoes honesty with yourself and the honesty that's required is I have an addiction addiction as a disease and that it is I have lost my ability to control my actions once you have come to that you're honest about it you can recover and just to piggyback on that their honesty will dictate where they go with their probation officer if they're upfront and honest with the officer then we're more apt to be or more able to help them through their addiction and through their their issues if they're not honest and we have issues with able to kind of deal with what we have to deal with them and we're not able to put them in the right direction I point them in the right direction if they don't tell us what's happening with them on a regular basis this is meet the court and I'm your host Joe Johnson will be back with judge Santa and after this message hi my name is Barbara did you know that the superior courts of New Jersey value your feedback in each courthouse we have surveys throughout the building we ask that you take the time and fill one out or take it with you if you don't have the time and send it back to us or go online at NJ courts gov welcome back to meet the court I'm your host joy Johnson my guests today are Judge Mark Sanson and John bond and we're continuing our conversation about adult drug court and its overall benefits to the community so John who comprises the drug court team you spoke about in the last segment yeah this is another unique thing to drug court where the regular trial court you would have a prosecutor public defender and the judge would meet the arbitrator and in drug court you have the prosecutor who's in drug court you have a public defender or an attorney you have probation officers you have a coordinator the judge is the captain driving the ship and you also have clinicians that are involved in ensuring that the people are doing at the appropriate level of care as well so it's from your purview what does how is the team approach work in drug court and what are the advantages it is so different from traditional the traditional status of a judge and and lawyers in a courtroom we are we are clearly a team or truly a team we sit down to staff every week every single person in drug court and we're talking about 750 total people it takes a long time to staff them in Atlantic where Cape May we sit down with probably around forty people around a very large table we bring up every person in drug court their successes their failures it's all leading to the actual drug court appearance which is usually in Tuesday's in Atlantic and Wednesdays in Cape May at which time my job is to engage each and every participant in a two or three-minute conversation about what they've been what they've been successful with an unsuccessful with in the last weeks and so that I've seen them depending upon the phase they're in drug corta maybe two weeks and maybe a month and it maybe two months depending upon what phase of drug court there in there's four phases of drug court the team advises me in a holistic manner as to how they're progressing to get to know who's telling me the truth who isn't telling me the truth what problems there are what trouble spots there are how we can address it this addiction as I said is a disease and it is an adversary to treatment so it is not easy it is not it does not follow a straight path quite often there are relapses there are falling off along the roads so we deal with all these we don't deal with it from a criminal court perspective our answer is not jail we know people do not recover in jail we know people are warehouse in jail and these are you these are not violent people these are people who have a disease and we try to deal with the entire person with the idea that treatment is the answer and drug court does provide treatment so if some of our viewers are wondering what are the actual benefits to the drug court participants themselves beyond just saving themselves from their addictions well if it if the if the only thing you got we're saving yourself from your addiction it would be the gift of life I think you're right but the the the what what did--what recovery is is two things one an understanding of your disease the psychological behavioral neurological condition we call addiction and two and very importantly certainly as importantly is developing a sober support network a meeting that you go to a group of sober friends that you have you often have to get rid of non sober friends you have to realize the triggers in your life the triggers that make you want to use a trigger is something that creates a certain reaction in your brain that makes you want to use drugs or alcohol people have to learn how to recognize what the triggers are and instead of succumbing giving in to the triggers they have to learn to deal to go to eating to call their sponsor these things work that recovery is possible when people come before me at the very beginning they often say judge I don't I'm not sure I can make it I'm an addict I'm having a very difficult time stopping they all know intellectually by that time that it's destroying their lives and sometimes they despair because they've tried so many times drug court works because we're able to provide some new solutions and were able to finance those solutions with treatment and at the end we're able to give them a second start which motivates a lot of these people they don't want to be caught in their addictions they don't want to fail they want to get back with their families they want to get back with their kids they want to get back from the the alienation from there are many times from their backgrounds and we can although not all the time we can in many occasions successfully complete that process in 30 months it's an incredible process and for anybody out there who has an addictive situation and has been charged with a crime drug court is a very viable alternative and we invite people to find out about us and to to come to drug court and the judiciary is supporting this program to the maximum extent possible at this point in time so John what treatment modalities are available to individuals who were in drug court it was actually a wide variety of treatment modalities and that's it's actually expanded over the past year where before we never allowed anybody with medicated assistant treatment and but that is now open to people as well so if you have an opioid addiction you can look at methadone suboxone vivitrol naltrexone as a tool to help you get through the early part of your addictions you also have long term inpatient treatment that's available short term inpatient treatment all the spectrum of outpatient from IOP which is intensive outpatient to the relapse recovery to one-to-ones so whatever that person needs to kind of get them through the process and to get them to those life-changing events those are all the modalities is available so are there any other topics or parts of the conversation that we haven't covered in our talk so far yeah the the one thing I want to distress the people that our program has substantially changed in reaction to evidence-based solutions which have been developed on a national level the state of New Jersey has reacted quickly and our vicinage in Atlantic and Cape May County and Judge Mendes who is my boss essentially the assignment judge has 100% supported the program and supported all these changes we've reduced the size of excuse me we've increased the size of drug court by almost a hundred percent we have engaged in an allowed medically assisted treatment which is necessary in some of these cases at least for a period of time we have supported people and in and job efforts we've formed community partnerships to enable people to get a job one of the necessities of recovery is finding a job and before you finish your four phases of drug court you will get a job on the books it's a requirement so putting the addict back together is the job of the drug court team it's a team approach we all have an equal say in what happens we have a very experienced and dedicated group of people and the only thing I can say to people who are watching this who are in despair we all know family members we all know friends and family members we have friends or maybe it's us we all know people with addiction issues this is an epidemic it is killing a generation of Americans there are things you can do drug court while maybe not the answer is an answer to many people who want to change and the whole key to being successful in drug court is your desire to change recovery is change and that's what we try to accomplish well we are just about out of time I'd like to thank our guests for joining us today on meet the court thank you I also would like to thank you our audience for tuning in this is Jawad Johnson goodbye for now [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

thank you madam president members of the board superintendent Kaminski and members of superintendent's cabinet student board representative students fellow employees and guests welcome this is an exciting night each year it is my privilege to oversee the selection process for the classified employee of the year from each of the school sites and the from the various departments in the district as well as the classified employee of the year for the entire district unbelievable interviews I cannot do that it is a process that includes the nomination and selection of classified employees at each of the school sites as well as various other locations and/or departments such as the district office our maintenance room and nutrition services once the selections are made at each of these schools and locations then each of the nominees is interviewed by the classified Employee of the Year selection committee and the final choice is made to represent the entire district I'd like to identify the names of the people who served on the selection committee this year it is a real challenge to be on that committee because it's like you have this great problem right selecting someone to represent the district from all these great candidates Norma Camacho was our principles representative norm I know you're here because you're gonna be presenting our classified grounds supervisor robson moura was on the committee last year's recipient serves on the current year's selection and last year's recipient of the district employee of the year was Jessica Silva [Applause] serves on the committee plans as from the district office a secretary one her name is lisa allen and then of course myself so it is a great process care all these exciting things that are happening in the district and the community so it's a wonderful day that we get to do those interviews tough choice but it's very rewarding in our society we like we often like to talk about what is the best of something if you're like my family you have this what is the best discussion right after you finish the conversation of what you're gonna do if you win the lottery what is the best of something if you want to engage in some spirited conversation just throw some of these vests out there for discussion and so you have permission to talk about it when I throw out what the topic is but no arguing please keep it up keep it down well for example the best movie of all time what would that be in your mind that's the book of all time the best place to live okay if Zeus is gonna probably rule it out the best state in the United States well gosh it better than California right the best actor or actress of all time this one like constant discussion the best president that's more the best car of all time I might say like a Beatle because that was my first car this one spirited the best cellphone are you an apple or are you a droid there's a lot of discussion then the best type of dinner a lot of discussion on that the best sport and the best team okay there's not much to be it's baseball that's the Dodgers and then we take it one step further as we're having these discussion of what is best we want the proof or the data that proves our position we want the backup for what is the best we use terms like and do things like likes how many lights does that get that proves our point right how many hits did something get on the website what are the boats what are the raids what are the sales to support our best position we have a lot of words and phrases that talk about how we support our vests for example we've back something we get behind it we speak up for it we endorse it we promote it we align with it we sympathize with it we agree with it we have for it we associate ourselves with it we're headed to it we rally behind it we root for it we carry the torch for it we stand for it sponsor it stand up and be counted for it we throw our weight behind it and we vow for it and there could be many other phrases that I left out let's look at some of the examples that support that provide the data that support the best here's one for you does the accumulated wealth of ninety point two billion with a be proof that Bill Gates is the best computer entrepreneur you decide does a population of thirty nine point five approaching forty million and the sixth largest economy in the world prove that California is the best state you know you line that six best economy in this and then you talk about the funding that we talked about early games at once and thought as a pencil resolutions thank you for does 192 million dollars in ticket sales for cocoa prove that it was the best animated film last year I'm sure the kids would waiting on that one right I saw it together this is gonna bounce more thumbs up I agree with you I went to see it too and I love them or maybe does one a five hundred and seventy three million in ticket sales for the last gen I prove that it was the overall best movie there are there any Star Wars people out there yeah so you decide do six world titles darn almost seven prove the doctors are the best baseball team we miss it by the bat much right next year tonight I'm ready to announce a best forty and I can prove it to okay I'm gonna have the data supporter here is the best the Azusa Unified School District classified employees are the best there and so you remember all those terms that I listed demonstrate our support I would say all of those I'm 100 percent behind those in relation to our classified personnel in this district so let's move on to the second part how do we measure the value for our classified employees this is where it will be challenging not because the evidence is not there but because it's too hard to count it imagine keeping track of the number of situations that our classified employees positively impact our students on a daily basis if you can't count it it's it's too hard to count it's too hard to quantify all the conversations all the listening ears all the guidance and instruction all the dedication and pride all the emotional support all the encouragement and I can go along with all the things our classified employees do we hit to hear some of those in those interviews that's why it's so inspirational I wish we had a giant tally board somewhere to record all the instances when classified employees demonstrate their value but unfortunately we don't have that would it be great to happen somewhere like at the district office this giant board that just tallied it would be reading all the time changing with every time a classified employee assists our students so what is the best way to sum it all up the value mark five employees let me go let me try it they aren't the best because they care for our students and make a difference in their lives every single day congratulations classified personnel [Applause] before we start recognizing each of the science recipients before we recognize those folks I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge a very special classified employee whose leadership for the past several years has been very instrumental to the success of the district's classified personnel this person is passionate about education kamme and does hold the line when it's necessary and yet always is reasonable and looking for solutions may be the best way to characterize this person is to tell you four things that I know are very dear to her number one Disneyland number two the Dodgers can't go wrong with those two but it's even better the third thing that is so so important to this person is the Azusa unified school district and the fourth thing is our family now how can you beat that right that's a that's a great combination of things that are dear to her heart many of you a large figure out who I'm talking about Francis please everybody figured it out like Francis Francis has been our CSEA Association president for the past several years she's decided to offer that bowl to somebody else she saw him work for us as an instructional aide at this very school and so we're happy that she's still gonna stay employed by us and impacting children on a daily basis but she is stepping down that does that out of that role ICSD incredible thank you we appreciate so much [Applause] [Music] so moving on some procedural things first of all I'd like to thank Glasgow Street can thank you for hosting this full board awesome job I thought about seeing all of my comments for a second here I'd like to thank Glasgow Street and I we have a representative from for low credit union tonight who will be making the offering something towards our district employee of the year so thank you for your partnership we really appreciate that so principal you know the procedure the on-deck circle square is right over there we're going to go according to this list please when you're the next up be waiting in the in the on-deck circle and then we'll move forward there will be comments by the principal then I think there's a photo up yes the board will be handing out a certificate and there's a photo up and then you guys would sit down oh thank you CSEA has a gift to give you recipients and then you will make your way to sit back down and then the next will come up we will be skipping Murray School in our list no big surprise there children especially our students that consistently underachieve and have behaviors that sometimes impede their learning it was then that we decided she is truly deserving of this award the snow is not only an outstanding employee she is a mom and a student herself she's in school setting to become a teacher which is a perfect thing for her to do because she truly makes a difference in children's lives every day thus Noah's colleagues have stated that she is dedicated to assisting students in any way possible and arrives to work with a friendly smile which stays on her face all throughout the day students are excited when the snow walks in the classroom because they know that she is there to support them it is an honor to work with Miss Noah please join me in recognizing in Ellington's
