McDavid said to provide us with that analysis unbought has worked with more than half of Indiana's public schools and many around us Brownsburg Danville Wayne Township Carmel Tombaugh also works with several taxing entities near us including the town of Plainfield and the Avon library and provides similar financial analysis for them if you were at our last meeting on Thursday evening you know that mr. fletcher a partner at non law presented their analysis he was unable to be here today because of a previous commitment but he and mr. Moffatt have been involved in analyzing our financial information and so mr. Caleb Moffitt is going to come up and share a brief summary about their analysis [Applause] the 389 arts in Managua has been working with Avon schools team for a number of months developing revenue and expenditure forecasts based upon enrollment trends and student needs depending upon growth a month's annual expenditures could exceed revenues as early as 2020 and then cash reserves would begin to diminish as well personal programs so this was resolved in a month schools operating a less imprudent level according to industry standards and state of Indiana the main factor contributing to this is that state funding is not keeping up with the rate of inflation so without consideration of a referendum due to the state funding not keeping up with inflation Avon would be faced with more unstable financial situations putting the existing educational programs everest an operating referendum is the one option Indiana public schools possess to generate additional revenue to support academic and operational needs so in summary for Avon to remain financially solvent additional revenue sources such as a referendum are necessary in order maintain predict reserves and maintain the existing programs based upon the projections we thank you Thank You mr.

muffin during the course of meetings and interactions with parents and community members we have heard you loudly and clearly you acknowledge that home values are highly correlated to a quality public school system and you said we cannot let the quality of the school system erode you've been also very clear with us about the priorities of a general fund referendum reduce class sizes add support to help our students succeed and give them opportunities to have a full comprehensive education and retain our great teachers now something that we have not mentioned up to this point and the last two community engagement meetings and we've gotten some feedback on it so I want to address it tonight you can be sure that we'll be putting some very specific objective measurable information out there one point that I hate to acknowledge is that our performance as measured by standardized test scores has declined over the last several years specifically since 2012 what that means is when our class sizes started to go up in 2012 our performance on ISTEP started to go down at that point in 2012 we were ranked none in the state of Indiana when it comes to performance of public schools that has gone slightly down every year to 16 to 23 to 26 and this year spring of 2017 we are 42nd in the state out of all the public schools now we don't think that standardized tests are the only thing that matters but we do know that they do matter and we do have to acknowledge that there is absolutely a correlation between the time and our class size has started to grow up go up and our standardized test scores we've started to go down so when we talk about providing additional instructional support for our students if so that they can succeed all across the curriculum the other thing that we have done at each community engagement meeting is that we've heard from a teacher and one of our finest is here tonight please help me welcome Laura Rose Meyer from Avon intermediate rest good evening my name is Laurie Rosemeyer I'm the teacher Nevada Intermediate School West I have taught many students in my tenure and I'm now having the privilege of teaching the children of my former students now contrary to what you might be thinking I have not been here since Avon was known as smooth spell and if you didn't get that reference go ahead and hook up your Avon history yes things have changed since I started teaching a vine in 1982 but one thing has remained steadfast our district has worked hard to meet the needs of all of our learners by sticking to that goal our students have achieved great things academically in the extracurricular areas and in their lives our school corporation has helped build this community into one that is strong one is respected throughout the state and even the nation I've always been so proud to say that I believe on teacher because we've been known for our high expectations compassion for our individual learning student learning needs and our successes in and out of the classroom my son's attended Avon through the eighth grade and two of my school-age grandchildren are a Hmong students now I care about this corporation I care about its students and its teachers and I care about this community as a veteran teacher I would like to share three things with you first our students and our teachers need and deserve smaller class size we want to be able to connect with all of our students our families we want to make a difference in their lives we want to lead them down the path of success but it's hard to do with the number of students that we have think about your own families when another child is added it's more than just adding one more imagine then how it feels when classroom size goes from 24 to 28 to 32 or in some cases even more this concern does not just apply to the classroom teachers special education caseloads are overwhelming instructional assistants are being pulled in many directions and band choir orchestra art and PE are overflowing with students and the stuff associated with those classes class size is a real concern when dr.

lemon and I have talked about compensation for teachers I did tell them that it's heartbreaking for me to know that some of our finest teachers teachers who are making a difference in the lives of the Avon students have already made and may make the choice to leave Avon because other corporations offer better salary and better benefits we need to be our compensation needs to be in line with school corporations that are similar to ours we want our great teachers to stay at Avon also as you know being a part of the group a club a team an activity is so vital kids and adults need that feeling of being a part of something in the current situation we're having difficulty providing enough opportunities for our students teachers are already being stretched to the max with little or no compensation we need additional extracurricular activities for kids led by teachers in conclusion I know that my former students have made the choice to live in Avon with their families because of their school experiences that were so positive it only makes sense then that if we want to continue to be a community that's respected we have to make our schools a priority thank you thank mrs.

rose mark before we get to the items that we have prioritized based on our work with administrators staff parents and community I want to remind you why I say that we have to pass a referendum just to stay where we are today the reason I can say that with such confidence is that the state funding formula is set every two years it was sent in May of 2017 so we know exactly how much we're going to get in 2018 and in 2019 from the state we work very hard our oil advocates and we work very hard with our legislatures during those budget sessions to try to advocate for public schools this year 2018 we know that we're receiving 1.3 percent more than we did last year and we already know that in 2019 we'll receive one point four percent more sounds pretty good more money this year than last year no last year inflation was 2.1 percent so when we get 1.3 percent additional money that doesn't even cover our current costs that's why I say that without passing a referendum and deciding what kind of schools we want there's no way that we can even stay where we are today and of course we don't want to stay where we are today we want to get better we have worked intensively since our last community engagement meeting of 2017 which was back in December because we had great support but people said okay but you need to tell us how much this is going to cost and we wanted to gather a lot of input and be very very specific about how we would spend additional funds so together with our administrators we spent quite a bit of time over the holiday break in fact our principals and assistant principals came in two days of the holiday break to help us work out three possible budget options an essential budget which would be the least increase keeps what we have and adds what we think we have to have in order to move forward with the next budget we call improves this would enhance what we provide to students and the optimal budget is what we believe would be ideal for our kids hours and hours of work and debate and pricing and budgeting have gone into these priorities that we're about to share with you you won't agree with them all we don't all agree with them all we're still working towards consensus but what I'm about to show you tonight is our best consensus as of 5:00 o'clock tonight I say five o'clock because we met with the principals at five o'clock and they brought us some feedback that's probably going to send us back to the budget drawing board tomorrow that's why we call these drafts our principals got some feedback from their teachers that may adjust what we talked with about the board but this will give you a pretty good idea first I'd like to talk to you about what budget option ascend means for our students this means that we would target class sizes at the kindergarten level of 22 or fewer right now our class size target is 25 or fewer at kindergarten but you know we have some kindergarten who at 30 and 31 I'm sorry to say this essential budget would target our grades 1 through 4 at 25 or fewer and our intermediate and set middle schools would be targeted at 28 or fewer this budget would also increase the time that our students have in art music physical education related artists I use I'm gonna back up a moment we use the word target 25 or fewer 28 or fewer because we're not going to use the word cap it's an unrealistic term things change quickly and we can only aim at the target you know if that 26th student walks in the 4th grade I'm not going to drop everything and hire a teacher but we are going to work very hard and we've prepared a budget that would allow us to meet these targets the essential budget would also allow us to retain and attract high quality teachers with salaries that becomes slowly and incrementally a little better each year over the course of eight years to try to do some catching up with our counterparts and finally this budget would increase our support staff to help meet our students needs that's a general overview but I promise we'll get more specific what about the improvs budget well same class sizes at the kindergarten level but the improvs budget would have the target for our intermediate fifth in sixth grade as 25 or fewer rather than 28 in the first budget it would also add even more support staff to support our students and would allow more opportunities for student involvement especially at the middle school level and finally a general overview of the optimal budget again no changes for K 5/6 excuse me k5 6 but this optimal budget we have our middle school classes at 25 or fewer we would increase support staff even more to support our students learning needs and we would provide more opportunities at the middle level at the high school level for our students after school now that gives you a broad overview of what this budget means in general but let's get more specific about each of these budgets and let's go back to that essential budget this budget would generate 7.35 million dollars each year for the next eight years what would we do with those funds well first of all those nine Elementary Teachers I mentioned that we've already added this school year to get some of our class sizes more reasonable at the k4 level we'd keep them it would also add a special education preschool teacher we would add 11 more K for teachers to meet those targets of 22 or fewer kindergarten and 25 or fewer at first through fourth grade we would add for intermediate school teachers to reach that target of 20 eight or fewer you might say wow that doesn't sound too good of course right now our minute intermediate classes have 31 and 32 so moving to 28 would be an improvement this would have ten and a half related arts teachers art teacher's music teachers PE teachers this would allow us to have full-time related art staff in each of our elementary schools instead of sharing a music teacher between two elementary schools going back and forth holding programs on different nights we would have a dedicated music art and PE teacher in each of our elementary schools we would also manage to hang on to the dancers that we just hired at the elementary level in January perhaps you heard how fortunate we were to be one of the very few districts in the state of Indiana to receive an $800,000 Lilly grant for counseling and that's thanks to our counseling staff who worked so hard to get that grant part of why we got that grant is because our counselors are serving way more students than is reasonable and so Lilly has given us this grant and for the first year they are supporting with these two Elementary counselors but as the grant moves on the school district needs to pick up the salaries of those two Elementary counselors this essential budget also includes increasing our instructional coaches by three positions now people say or instructional coaches and why are those important to kids well I don't know about you but when I try to engage in professional learning or not trying again at being a superintendent I don't benefit much from going off site and attending a workshop yeah I get fired up for one day and I come back and I'm all fired up and then three weeks later nothing really has changed because that's not how adults learn and change teaching is extremely demanding and sophisticated and it's changed quite a bit over the years we're fortunate that we do have some instructional coaches all across our district who help our teachers in the classroom while they're teaching get better at what they do now this model has been something that we've used for many years and our teachers are clamoring for more support of instructional coaches by adding the three instructional coach positions we would be able to provide our existing teachers even as good as they are with the opportunity to continue to grow and we talked about attracting new teachers it's not easy to be a new teacher there are no mentoring programs in place anymore in the state of Indiana as there once were and we know those new teachers need support and a master teacher who knows what it's like to be in the classroom can provide that support and so that's why adding three instructional coaches is a priority for us this essential budget would also add 11 kindergarten assistants even if we get our class sizes 222 or fewer you've ever been in a kindergarten class you know that many of our youngsters don't come to school ready to learn they maybe haven't had the opportunity to attend a preschool or have those enriched experiences that some other youngsters have had some of them don't really know how to behave in a social environment it's not that they are not great kids they're fabulous kids but they need our help learning how to engage in school and that's one of the points that we think is important about providing instructional assistance we would also add eight special education assistants again we have students who have special needs they're just as smart as other kids that they learn differently and learning can be more challenging for them so they require a little extra support we would add for English language learner assistance not sure how many of you are aware but in our school system we have students who speak more than 70 different languages at home as their first language then it come to our schools and they don't know a word of English yet you can imagine what it's like to have 30 youngsters in a classroom and one who doesn't speak English that's why we need some assistance to support us in addition to those we already have this budget would also add a media center assistant one building technology technician as as well as a district technology application specialist you know our tech department does a fabulous job but we haven't been able to add staff they're just like we haven't been able to add staff anywhere across the district and so they need more support to help us you will notice on this essential budget that there are no building leads needs listed here this referendum is not about adding to our buildings or renovating our buildings you'll also know you're not going to see any administrators or administrative salaries listed on this that's important to remember let's talk about how this essential budget would affect our middle school and high school students we were able at the beginning of this school year to add eight middle school teachers as well as one and a half high school teachers this budget would allow us to keep those teachers it would also add for middle school teachers to reduce class sizes recall that the essential budget targets class sizes of 28 or fewer in our middle school classes you may not be aware if you don't have a middle schooler but we have many menu well over thirty right now this budget would add a middle school special ed teacher a high school special ed teacher five more high school classroom teachers a high school counselor and a high school fan teacher it would also add an additional English language learner assistant we mentioned on this budget that this allows us to keep our teachers salaries moving in the direction of the market competitive pay I want to say a word here about our extracurricular activities now some people don't agree that this is an important or essential item but I need you to be aware that every coach every sponsor every club sponsor in our district who's fortunate enough to receive a stipend to sponsor those important after-school activities not a one of them has received a race since 2008 nothin we simply have not been able to increase what they earn so whatever the yearbook sponsor was earning back in 2008 9 that's exactly what he or she is earning today we believe that we need to be more competitive our coaches at Avon high school are the lowest paid coaches in our conference and we don't think that's right now you'll also see some things here for the middle school you'll see the importance we believe of adding assistant coaches or our middle school football team and our mono school track right why is that more important than anything else those are two teams that we don't cut students for we think anybody who wants to play football and anybody who wants to run track the field ought to be able to participate but we simply do not have enough paid coaches to manage the number of youngsters who want to be involved and we really like to keep as many kids involved as possible at the middle level now some people have said well that sounds good Maggie but what about adding middle school soccer or baseball before the last referendum you were thinking about adding baseball and softball and you know I'd love to add all that and more but as we talked with our coaches and as we've recognized the important role that ajaa plays and providing youth sports in our community as well as our many soccer programs in our community our coaches and our athletic administrators have said we probably need to focus on what we currently do and try to do it better before we add something new right now we have more than 50 clubs at the middle schools and a name on high school the teachers sponsor without a of compensation and these are clubs that help kids stay connected to school we know that participation in after-school activities community service Girl Scouts Boy Scouts plugs Band Orchestra choir sports athletics we know that that's a predictor of a higher GPA and a better chance of graduation so we think these after-school activities are important we love the fact that our teachers sponsor 50 clubs without being paid and that involves more than two thousand kids every year we don't really think that's right and so this essential budget would include some additional dollars to pay teachers for that now we've told you what this essential budget means for our students but what does it mean for our taxpayers this slide here explicitly mentioned what the essential budget would mean for people who own homes in washington tension if you look across the very top line of this draft budget you'll see the market value of various homes one hundred thousand on the paper on the far left you'll see a highlighted column of one hundred and seventy two thousand dollars six hundred and seventeen dollars and then you'll see some others that second column is highlighted because just last Thursday the Hendricks County Auditor was able to share with us the average market value of a home in a month the average market value of a home in Avon is one hundred and seventy two thousand six hundred and seventeen dollars so we think that's a good example to share it may not be the one that matches your home but it's a good example to share of how the budget would impact these tax payers now many of you may not realize that we don't pay taxes on the full market value of our home so if you follow along the column that's highlighted with the home typical or average on you can see that homeowners receive a number of deductions there's a homestead deduction of $45,000 a supplemental deduction of forty four thousand dollars and a mortgage deduction if this homeowner carries a mortgage of three thousand dollars so when we figure out the impact a referendum would have we're not figuring it out based on one hundred and seventy two thousand we're figuring it out based on seventy nine thousand nine hundred and fifty one dollars and you can see that the essential budget would increase for any homeowner 27 point forty seven cents per $100 of assessed valuation that makes my eyes roll I don't know what that means so we've gone ahead and we've figured it for each of those homeowners you can see that for the average homeowner in Avon that means that he or she will pay $18.30 more performant for the essential budget or $219 and sixty six cents for annually for this budget now I wish this was a straight math calculation I wish we could all look at that one hundred thousand dollar home and say Oh hundred thousand dollar home seven dollars and fifty cents per month if I just double that that would be right for a two hundred thousand dollar home it doesn't work like that the formula is far more complicated and it depends on what deductions you get so we want all of us to be able to calculate accurately what this would mean for us and we will have a tax calculator available on our website so that people can see exactly what it would mean but we wanted to provide some examples tonight and we thought using the average home would be helpful but that's the impact on the average home of the essential budget let's talk about the impact of the improves budget 1.11 No I'm sorry and jumping the gun this is the improves budget and rather than raising 7.3 million dollars annually this would raise eight point six six million dollars in your and as a reminder the improved version includes everything we talked about in the essential budget and it adds three more teachers for intermediate class size reduction because remember the improves budget takes those fifth and sixth grade classes down from twenty eight which is the target in the essential budget to twenty five it adds an intermediate counselor to element I'm sorry no wonder there were sorting perplexed looks in the audience thank you mrs.

Teresa this budget would also add to elementary special education teachers for intermediate school interventionists as we talked about in the previous budget and an additional technology building technician again I want to root I want to emphasize that this budget includes everything in the essential Plus these items now hop out at the middle and I swirled this budget would add another middle school special ed teacher another high school special ed teacher or or high school classroom teachers a high school counselor it would add five middle school special education teaching assistants to middle school interventionists and some additional athletic coaching positions at Avon high school again that's what it means for kids what's the impact on the taxpayer the improved budget would add thirty two point three nine cents per $100 of assessed valuation the last project recall was twenty seven point four cents for seven cents this is thirty two point three nine cents again let's use that consistent example of the average home as of 2017 as valued at one hundred seventy two thousand six hundred and seventeen dollars same deductions and this means that the taxpayer would page $21.58 per month or two hundred and fifty eight dollars ninety six cents per year let's move on to the optimal budget everything in the essential budget everything in the improvs budget but now at the intermediate level we're having some additional extracurricular activities we do have some clubs for our fifth and sixth grade students but we'd love to see even more opportunities for kids to be engaged outside of school the optimal budget however has a more significant impact on our mill and high school classes remember that this optimal budget takes those target middle school class sizes from twenty eight in our essential and improves budget down to twenty five that's why we would add for middle school teachers three and a half new high school teachers now this is the part where people say now you have talked about target class size k-8 but you've not mentioned the high school high school is a little trickier we have I don't know mr.

shockwave 150 different classes probably more than that Oh way more than that and the classes vary from maybe in the low 20s to sum up into the high 30s or 40s rest assured that mr. Shockley and his staff as we have analyzed what we need to add for the high school is addressing class size and curricular offerings making sure we're offering the full breadth of curriculum at our high school students need this optimal budget would also add to middle school music assistance six more interventionists at the middle school to high school support staff not for the classroom think about the high school with over 3,000 students and many many employees we need some office support to support that this would also add more clothes at the middle school it would even add an activity bus four days a week at the middle school for our youngsters who need to stay after school for extra help for study tables for music for band for sports or any club because that's a real obstacle for middle school students to be involved after school transportation home we'd love to have this at the high school level but at least if the high school many of our students are driving but we'd love to have the opportunity for more of our middle school students to participate it would also add some additional Club opportunities that Avon high school now some of our staff has said which clubs what clubs would you add whatever activities would you add how much would the stipends increase those are negotiated items with our teachers union so we cannot sit here and say the newspaper sponsors stipend would go up this much but again our administrators have worked hard to include an amount of dollars that will help us become more competitive and add some opportunities for our students but we can't be too much - it's more specific than that so we've talked about the impact on the taxpayers of the essential budget and the improvs budget what would be the impact of the optimal budget life it would add thirty six point three seven cents per $100 of assessed evaluation using the same example of the average home in Avon that taxpayer would pay $24 twenty three cents more a month or $290 seventy seven cents a year keep in mind you are never going to hear me say well the referendum will only cost but this many trips to Applebee's or this may I'm not going to do that because we all have homes that are valued differently some people don't carry a mortgage and it doesn't matter what's happening to the average taxpayer what matters is what's happening to you and we want you to know exactly how much any of these referendum options would cost you I have to emphasize to you that these are three draft budgets ultimately the school board will decide what type of budget we will advance in a referendum it could be one of these three budgets or they may modify this and suggest we make some changes based on the feedback that we're getting tonight and throughout the the days ahead to make a good decision our board wants your feedback our board is listening very very carefully so when will they decide as I mentioned we have a special board meeting scheduled January 29th we prints night at 7 o'clock and it will be a fat meeting where I anticipate the board will pass a resolution for some dollar amount it may not be exactly what you see tonight but it will be something certainly based very closely on the information that they've gathered and why are we being so careful we want to be thoughtful about what we're asking our taxpayers to support you know we have struggled through these priorities we have debated and debated them we don't all agree on everything that's up here or constantly revising because why because we know this is a must-win for our community so we need to ask for what we need sometimes I ask myself I go through this budget over and over again and I ask myself if including this one thing would mean we'd fail would I take it out but it's what I'm going to continue to ask myself I'd like to know your opinion about this I hope you'll speak up tonight and our small group and I hope that you'll share your opinions with any of us here tonight especially those who have been intimately involved in developing these priorities in summary what do we hope you'll remember tonight as you exit into our small group discussion we will be asking our community's support of general fund referendum primarily to reduce class size to retain great teachers and to support our students academic learning needs we won't use referendums money to build the renovate or add on to our schools we won't fund administrative positions and I have to tell you we have some serious administrative needs I mentioned earlier that today we have 1343 more students than we did back in 2009 10 and 6 fewer administrators nobody feels that quite like a non high school it's a bit and they do a fabulous job but we have the same number of administrators any of our high school as we did 700 kids ago we are making a commitment not to use referendum funds to add administrative positions we want these funds to go directly and closely to our students we also know we have serious technology needs you heard about the tax caps you heard about the money you don't have to repair our roofs or buy new buses or support transportation or technology but we simply don't feel we can go sup to the public and ask for more funds for technology I will say to you that if a referendum doesn't pass than today the way things are right now this is as good as it's ever going to be in Avon Community Schools and I don't think any of us think it's good enough we cannot continue with 1.3 percent new money from the state of Indiana and don't don't let me give you the impression I'm critical the state of Indiana they're doing the very best they can we have wonderful legislators who we communicate with quite a bit and they're trying very hard I don't agree necessarily with their priorities they don't agree with the budget that they passed because it doesn't keep pace with inflation and I think that our state should support public schools at the rate of inflation before they do anything else but they're good people doing hard work but we know about meager 1.3 percent that we're getting didn't keep pace with last year's inflation so without making people afraid and without fear mongering I have to tell you that things will get worse class sizes caseloads will get higher we will not be able to keep pace with our employees and many of you have said to us you know what Maggie you got to be explicit with our unity about what exactly we will lose if the referendum doesn't pass and I promise you we will do so we are so busy right now trying to patoot deal with these budget priorities and present clear information to the public that until the board decides what we're going to go for I will not be able to be as clear as I know our voters need us to be in order to be very very explicit about what happens if it doesn't pass but I pledge to you we will be very specific what happens down you know we've got a lot of support in this community I feel it every day I can beautifully nail some wonderful compliments all the time about what's happening in our schools but you know what most of our parents are not registered to vote I can look at this audience and say if your typical of Avon Washington Township resident most of you are registered to vote so your opinions really important but not if you're not registered to vote we know who's registered to vote we have voters registration documents in our office I happen to know who's a high fidelity voter I am since I moved to Avon that means I go to the polls all the time my husband isn't I hope he doesn't hear me say that he tends to go more often - the bigger elections but we have to get all of our of our taxpayers register to vote by April none in order for their voices to be heard and that includes our high school students who will be 18 we need to get them registered to vote and the unlined link is here it couldn't be easier we will have part of our campaign will certainly be and get out the vote campaign our high school student government students are excited about this and our high school teachers are excited about doing a better job not just for this day but in general getting voters to be engaged so our challenge is not getting your support as parents and community members our challenge are all the people who go to the pulse and just don't know they don't know what we've done to be more efficient with their tax dollars they don't know what a great job Avon teachers and students are doing they tend to not be aware because maybe they're over 60 and they're not connected to our school right now but you know who votes to the polls - ality voters people who are over 60 they're the ones who are registered and so we want to reach out to them and help them understand how we have been so vigilant protecting their tax dollars and how important their home value is and how it's connected to school quality I look at my home as my 401k that's my retirement and if the school system starts to decline in quality I know I'm not going to be able to eventually sell my home in Avon for what we paid for it and so that's what will be helping our community understand so help us get people registered to vote that's one way you can help us I also want to speak to the fact of why people don't register to vote and why people don't go to the polls I had a great conversation with 12 of her very very involved PTO mums and dads a few weeks ago and as we talked about this eight of them acknowledge that they have never voted that they are not registered to vote these are people who care about their kids care about their schools care about the community we talked a little bit about why they've not been engaged some of them said they don't really like to go to the polls in May they don't like to go to a primary where you have to say on the Democrat or under a Republican you know what I don't like that either you can go and just ask for a referendum ballot about that you don't want to vote for anything else you don't have to or I have to admit sometimes I go in to vote and I don't know everybody on the ballot I'm not as well informed as I should be you know what if you're not well informed about town councilor the tower's report or whatever you can go and vote for one thing we try to make it as easy as possible for people to be brave enough to go and vote and Hendricks County's making it really easy for us starting with this May primary they are going to centralized voting centers and so I can never remember am I supposed to vote in this place or that place this church or that building I can never seem to remember but now there will be 26 polling places all throughout Hendricks County you can go to whichever one you want here in Washington Township there are six that will be voting locations Avon United Methodist Church Crossroads Church Plainfield Christian Party Baptists are separate Lutheran and the American Legion Post you go to whichever one you want or you're like me and you're afraid you're gonna get busy that day you can vote early and we'll have information about how you can do that those who are at college right now they can vote absentee and we'll have information about that but remember who is going to speak for this referendum it's not the taxpayers who will speak it is the voters who go to the home on May 8th those are the people who will make this decision now right after the school board meets on Monday January 29th a pact will be formed a political action committee and there will be co-chairs and a treasurer and a yard sign coordinator and the letters to the editor coordinator and senior citizen coordinator and a fundraiser coordinator and it get out the election day vote for all these different things how do we know this because other school systems have done this before us and we've done our research we've been looking into this for a long time we know that there is one similar quality every one of those schools that has passed a general fund referendum I've spoken to all their superintendents and I've said to them what was the secret what helped you especially the second time around and they said having hundreds of pack volunteers so maybe you don't want to get involved on it yard sign coordinator level maybe you just want to host a coffee with five of your neighbors and will be happy to come and meet you or maybe you'll want to ask us to do a presentation at the homeowners association or maybe you'll come and help us knock on doors of registered voters in the spring but there is a way for everyone to be involved and we will need hundreds of volunteers the tiniest little district that I spoke to the past referendum told me that they had more than 200 volunteers actively working so we hope you'll get involved I also want to emphasize one important point that this is a political camp and it is governed by state laws one of the most important laws that I previously mentioned is that we may not use district resources to promote a referendum we may not hold building meetings in our buildings the pack will have to meet elsewhere we may not use school email our employees will not be able to put anything even on their personal email during their work hours there are a couple of exceptions the superintendent associate superintendent assistant superintendent Director of Finance and the school board they promote the referendum during our working hours but no one else made promoted or opposed it during working hours or using resources of the school you know what I think this is a pretty good law it's new since the last time we conducted a referendum I like this law we shouldn't be using school time to talk about a referendum with kids you have to urge us to get done we are going to be squeaky clean and ethical in the way we promote this referendum work our students watch what we do and we want them to feel proud of how we conduct our political campaign the day after the board approves a resolution I will be in written communication with every one of our employees so they know how to handle it what happens to the bus driver what a parent says hey so so what do you think about this referendum well they're going to say I'm not allowed to comment in an in an opposition or in favor of the referendum while I run the school duty I can direct you to where you can get some additional information but I'm not allowed to comment we'll be helping our employees understand how to handle that sure our employees can use their personal email their social media accounts their own time to promote or oppose a referendum they can certainly promote it or pose it after school hours this is a good law it's going to allow us to conduct a great campaign several of you have asked us happen watch for information about a pack call-out think about ways that you can use your circle of influence particularly to get people to register to vote them now at this time we are going to break and go into some classrooms people will direct you some of you may not choose to say and that's fine but people will direct you to some classrooms you can go to whichever classroom you want and we're going to spend about 20 minutes we're gonna put a timer on spend about 20 minutes with the administrators getting your input your questions your comments your concerns and then we do that because it's hard to walk up in an auditorium and say what you think in front of everybody it also would take us too long we want every single voice to be heard so after 20 minutes we'll all come back into this venue and each of new starter will come to the podium and share what he or she heard now dr.

LeMay said but I'm going to add these things and so after about 20 minutes we'll come back in here you'll be able to hear what people at your table said and you'll be able to hear what other people said most importantly our board will be able to hear what everyone said so before we do that let me just remind you that I am willing and our staff and our pack committee will be willing to come and speak to any group no matter how big or small I'm having a lunch later this week with five senior citizens who have reached out to me and I'm very very happy to do that we want you can understand that's our goal I'm not afraid of any questions anybody can ask we want to conduct a transparent process I also want to conclude by saying and this is very hard to out I am optimistic and I am terrified I am terrified because I know what will happen to our school system and for our children if we don't pass a referendum in May but I'm optimistic because we have a great story to tell I've been superintendent for just about six years and we've done everything we could to avoid this moment this is not my idea of a great way to spend our time I wanted to avoid this and I could we've done everything we could and now we've run out of options I'm also optimistic because I don't feel alone I have felt alone many times the superintendent of a district that's facing serious financial challenges but I don't feel that way anymore and then if we start talking about a referendum people started saying thank you thank you for doing something I'm with you I want to help I want to be involved this time I understand so I do feel optimistic but I can only be optimistic if we get people registered to vote and if every one of you watching at home or here tonight can stay involved informed and committed now let's take a break order the classrooms thank you

Boies the playing varsity this year and the Beverly side it says terrain there on your screen but he will not be starting tonight in his place will be might get Davies getting his first start here at Beverly High School to join him will be Crowley Moreland Abreu and rotting it's gotta be a good feeling for the first time hearing your name and the starting lineups there for Davies again I might use only my Philly man I call him like my boy from Philly he's only two now I think puzzle Givenchy rise for the national anthem yeah [Music] moments away from the opening tip here at the Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse where again Beverly will be hosting D cluster fishermen as the game goes along Alex will be trying to get some scores on the girls game the girls as you know down in Gloucester tonight so we're trying to keep you up-to-date with any updates on the school going going on down in Gloucester we have Timmy Moreland Duncan dad is up down there and glass done he's been super all ye able you know give us a quick update scores throughout the season so Jamie Moreland thank you very much much appreciated my man it's gonna be O'Brien in Crowley in the tip watching that game against Salem O'Brien by far and away the fisherman's best player do a little bit of everything as ball ends up bouncing off the ref fishermen have first possession stolen by Moreland he's going the other way already Mullen bit of a Euro step off the mark rebound montseny no all the way up quickly he's gonna be an easy two excuse me a little too soon as O'Brien grabs the offensive board Davies with the defense he'll redirect it and grab the board both teams spotting off a little tight Alex Roddy okay looks like glosses central zone is it the 3-2 zone one to two zone I'll bring you back to rowdy 14 on the shot clock Davies mid-range jumper he'll get fouled he'll shoot two very valuable starting for the young we're not even young he has a junior but first year in Beverley Davies very big start for him in Moreland seems to be limping grabbing that right ankle he's gonna be coming out quickly and the rain will hop in for him who's that follows on the thirty beliefs so Moreland's gonna get looked at over at the bench my trainer Sharla Baroness it's not a good sign I don't like to see that Miss Ellie Davy's gonna miss the first free-throw okay you feeling miss the first one ii was up no good o'brien with the board quickly gets it to Smith Brian guarded by Crowley Smith down low to montseny no pass nice move nice move two points for montseny no gloucester leads to nothing 652 left to go in the first the rain just entered the game they found Crowley Crowley underneath he gets it sent away by Smith coming the other way quickly Derain trying to track it down he pokes it away it's gonna be last touch by O'Brien good job by trotting to come up yeah balls off the blinds foot alright - nothing's 6:40 the goal in the first quarter [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so brave trying to get it down to davies terrain now we'll bring you up top he'll take a pretty deep three he'll knock it down Abreu with the first three points for the Panthers and it's three to Beverly Lee mountain Ino up to Oliver Smith to O'Brien back to Smith mid-range jumper off back iron rebound Crowley [Applause] bring you now in the corner it's terrain but he couldn't handle it going the other way 559 left in the first I'm in the wrong place out filming the hands I haven't heard that one got any kind of catch it I'm gonna use that that we'll be playing a man-to-man defense yeah O'Brien nice deflection by James DL by Davies gonna try to take it coast-to-coast that your OSAP he gets it sent away by O'Brien Brea picks it up mid-range Jay good five points for towles got here early in the first come up to five and a half minutes five to Beverly not only 105 nothing run Smith he's guarded by Davies it's Oliver now he'll take a three off the mark rebound O'Brien his second offensive board rips it away Smith now with it that's watt Smith to Smith Brothers in the starting lineup gets it to his brother Matthew off the backboard no good rebound Crowley till scan he's pushing it up Ronny back out to Abreu he'll take another three it's a heat check we're gonna counter from three that one count on my JL you didn't even call backward yeah who wouldn't counted but again it's belying it ain't nothing right in the update to all eight points coming from tal Scotty Abreu glass or not still counts off the mark is montani no I save all of her quick shot no good rebound rotting head to Davies oh honey if a spin move but Crowley gonna be called for a travel or a double dribble yeah good call good call [Applause] Duncan Moreland still getting looked at over on the bench you know glosses in that zone Al's about Beverly I try and look to run a little bit more I'm trying to be the best way to beat his own as a beat it down court before they get a chance to set up O'Brien to Montana no the other thing to Alps they get that middles wide open they go look like some penetration from the middle maybe put Crowley in that middle I haven't any trail off it probably certainly has made a living down there this season I steal nice play but Louise you got to here and in the up he's going to loop all the way he'll get fouled they'll shoot to believe it's gonna be on Smith on Mark Smith to be his first his first team second 3:46 left to go in the first Beverly leads 8 2 Duran shootin 2 I really over three fret the line tonight they always run up and down upon the line this year haven't they else they have both teams but Knights they've shot at walls but nice they struggle a bit 1 for 4 they'll going on a 9 nothing run right now you know the stopping who pls make it close to take a quick timeout all of her penetration gets it to O'Brien he'll be fouled it's gonna be on Crowley loosely yep fouls on Crowley his first team face 333 the go [Applause] we can see who's shooting this outside the scenes number from that line it's O'Brien second shot is good after missing the first O'Brien on the board tonight his first points so he breaks the 9 nothing run by Billy begins ray you looking into the corner gets it down to Crowley working I'm on Toninho up for two cysts coming from Abreu Brea has his hands and all 10 points he scored eight of them excuse me he's had it his hand in 10 out of 11 points scored eight assisted on that bucket as crowd was gonna be called for a second foul and care Kudus might have to call the bench here I think probably knows he's coming off to the side alright with Moreland already on the bench and Crowley in foul trouble it's gonna have to be Ryan Bearer to play some big minutes along with Micah Davies early in this game mock's missed makes the first free throw and makes them both I'm gonna fight belly cut up to three minute mark again Gloucester now it looks like they've gone to a 2-3 zone now so this wall man it's gotta be a butter on that ball or something second one that slipped away in that corner this time it was rotting Ray's putting it on the money [Applause] sniff past half court [Music] Smith in the corner drives baseline gets to montanita on the opposite corner thinking about a step back but gets it out Oliver driving he'll be fouled I believe by de rain on the floor we'll see it is okay that's gonna be Luigi's fourth foul third on the beam no it's a shooting foul oh right not on the floor but Oliver will shoot two and Kamara getting some first quarter minutes he comes in for rotting love them five Beverly 11 six two and a half left to go on the first launch the floor for 6 from the line ee 1 for 4 could come back to haunt the Panthers as Toscani has it poked away but it's last touched by O'Brien and the fishermen let the penetration by Toscani go junior Kenny Turner coming in for Oliver [Applause] Kamara thinking about a three gets it back to Abreu he has come out open in the corner pulls off kids I like this kid good length Kamara knocks it down kid's gonna be a good one Ellis Hans and waste it's a perfect pass the ball body I'll tell you Turner deep to got it to go sis coming from montseny no 13 8 Beverly 148 all nice pass underneath Kamara kicks it back out to the rain three no good rebound montseny no Smith working on tomorrow Monta Nino to montseny no a three no good rebound Turner the putback off the mark a Bray you coming away with it nice move by much of Scotty run against by Seth Kamara in the corner for three we know a good shot quickly get this man on that Bell he's gonna go brave charging but he couldn't get their 11 13 10 ballgame less than a minute to go 58 seconds in common terrain Davies in the corner for three got it nice shot a big Davies is on the board with that free sis coming from bear Peverley up six super one bubbles only get the ball back again they get it right there as Abreu comes away with it charging gets it to chimera up for two and Ray you eight points three assists two rebounds so far in the first this team leads 1810 and we're gonna get a foul I think we got a an injury oh no they caught you right hold on the ring and that's his second so Beverly with two players with two fouls in the first quarter fourth on the team second on Luigi draining Crowley both with two he takes a seat 18 seconds of gold the first quarter 1810 Beverly Turner gets it to O'Brien deep two gets the roll gets it in two points for him Ryan four seconds rotting pulls up gets deflected by Turner and that'll do it after one the Panthers lead 1812 after a big first quarter from Toscani Abreu eight points three assists two rebounds for the young fella and Beverly seems to be in good position although they do have a couple players in foul trouble with Crowley enduring having two apiece and it looks like Moreland will not be coming back in judging by his body language and the amount of weight he's been able to put on that right that's not good not good well we got a quick timeout here we're gonna do a quick around the city of Beverly give a quick shout out to all the old-timers out there we got my boy Danny Mavis's Jaclyn Mari Roger Morenci the good pal Johnny P Danny Corrado stick Crowley also Tyler Vostok was home with the girls his wife Liz his two little girls Sloan and Sienna also my another X cap tonight Alex Popkin Bali I talked to Scott say Scott's a great kid he's like that's what Catherine 2000-2001 he's watching tonight with his wife Katie his son Scotty and his daughter Mia okay so hello to them welcome Bali plan all right so 1812 Beverly after one marine and Crowley on the bench we'll start this second quarter Beverly sending out Abreu bearer chimera Davies and rotting not a lineup were used to seeing a lot as three of these five players in the court right now not used to starting games for the Panthers but they'll rely heavily on them tonight with the foul trouble and injury to Moreland rotten gets it to Davies implicitly into and it looks like that was poked away right into the hands of Davies it's gonna be a timeout call by the Panthers those a very unusual play there as Davies put it in for two rodding tried to get it to him in the first place and it was deflected by a Gloucester defender just went right to Davies anyway else who'd you have four baskets in the first corner the full belly and Crowley with one home and Crowley with two points to reign with one free throw Abreu with eight Davies lady with eight yep Davies with three in Camaro with four [Applause] 741 left to go in the second quick time I'll call by Beverly after that make from Davies they lead by 814 fouls in that first quarter all four coming from terrain in Crowley Smith guarded by Kamara so Bryan to Montana no the jumper got it to go good touch Vermont and you know a nice soft touch then he's got for tonight he's only a sophomore Davies a nice pass underneath Abreu another corner three no good Smith coming away with the board quickly pushing it one minutes gone by in the second quarter Davies pokes that one away he's charging for it he'll be called for the foul fifth team foul for the Panthers first on Davies [Applause] O'Brien will exit for the fishermen in his place will be number 23 Brandon Rivera seeing his first minutes tonight you're right about ma let's not look too good he's got to sleep it off from the bag of ice on muscle rota Alex very early in that first quarter we before either team got on the board as will be a mystery and a rebound from Davies almost has it taken away good pressure from Gloucester on this end quickly pushed up Abreu in the corner step back but gets it to bear rotting now with it's 17 on the shot clock [Applause] calling for a pick tomorrow in the corner I think they go take him up come up me it passes it to a brave has it taken away back on defense is rotting he redirects the shot enough to force Smith to miss run bear Abreu corner three yes got the roll the under three 11 points for Abreu and we're going to get a timeout Gloucester with 550 left to go in the first half we also go off school down in Gloucester Alex at the end of the first quarter it's the Beverley girls 19 and the Gloucester girls 8 so it's 19 to 8 Beverly thank you Tim Mullen for that update yeah Beverly girls team at sits at 6 and 4 overall 6 and 1 on the league in the NEC in that Gloucester team 2 and 4 in league play three and six overall and we've talked about how Duncan Moreland is hurt tonight his sister again we always talk about her on the girls team about a week and a half ago she had 21 points 26 rebounds and 11 blocks triple-double for the freshman now use that your davies for four points in the first quarter i have him down for 3.0 you told me four I said I said three and then you said four that's why I changed it alright so is he only had three in the first well Joanne had one free throw okay that was the only one probably only had one basket right abreu who had eight points you said yes Kyle camara hit four okay all right we're gonna I'll swear it away hi 23:14 5:44 we're too smart for our ball nice ball movement by Kloster rivera drives Smith in the corner for three high arcing Jahi uh-huh shirts on the floor it's gonna be a jump ball it's gonna stay with Gloucester [Applause] Davy's guarding Smith up top all nicely oh my brain goes out of bounds you tried good tried tried the toe tap there on the sideline 521 left to go in the first half Beverley leads 23 14 Crowley back out there for the Panthers as well as during the watch out they have two fouls apiece Abreu picks his pocket they have numbers gets it to Davies oh my god wait little push-off he did away with a little push but he puts it in for two so it wasn't me I wasn't saying thing there's one on three and he manhandled a couple fishermen seven points for the junior tonight and turnover Billy Beverly ball that we did biggest lead of the night now up 11:25 14 for 53 to go in the first quarter Rivera taking a seat for the fisherman it looks like Moreland is doing some stretching some running over here close to us testing out that right foot but even if he is good to go can't imagine care Cooter's would risk it as Abreu with a nice turnaround jumper couldn't get it to go but the rain gets the foot back puts it in I like the way test guys taking over a little an offense bringing the ball gone he's attacking tulu we're gonna call block to file is gonna be on Gloucester's number I think it's gonna be on 13 your team Matt Smith that's gonna be his first in rotting will shoot two teams third I believe I can't see it on the side here come down for three team fouls I believe so also it is their third rotting shoot two [Applause] that we got 14 28 14 the outscoring glossary in this quarter ten to three and a half into the second Ronny makes one [Applause] Oliver gets a tool Brian he's guarded by the ring long - from Smith off the backboard couldn't get it to go Crowley trying to come down with it possession will stay while Panthers [Applause] Davies takes his seat good minutes from him in his first start nice job fulfill E and it's Moreland who reenters the game here with 413 left to go in the first half and speaking of Philly when the Hulya beautiful suiting ball I wonder that's true he's not coming over my house to watch no offense Philly rodding turns that one over O'Brien to Oliver for three couldn't get it to go Gloucester not uniting all fit behind the arc tip believe that so Brian puts that in for two I think Gloucester not shooting very well from behind the arc tonight something they did very well against Salem Oliver had a few of those tusks on he's really attacked and I like the way he's attacking it he's tripping his snot he's trying to get two out of that he's gonna call the file before he shot I think though fouls gonna go on McDowell his first Jeanne's forth download a Laurel and let's go away mafia ballin steals it goes up 4-2 just enters the game and he scores two points no big deal no big deal he's healthy well that's huge that's who's he's back in there used his offense and his defense and it's rebounded he's got a little everything nice all-round ballplayer only a sophomore it's Keith Jackson the lake yeah I was just about to say that only a sophomore Oh - Keith Jackson who tragically passed this past week what think of me I'm probably he's not too happy yeah it's gonna college third team [Music] shooting - I believe as McDowell asked him for an explanation he thought probably which held his ground just had his hands up only when we got shooting here Alex McDowell for two during the 16 belly at 40 know this my boy the lefty here and Kamara's gonna come in for Crowley again he's got three fouls two points and three boards for Crowley hey them both anything and should have eaten up there get 17 up here can't get a foul away from the ball it's gonna be on pavada his first foul you didn't make both free throws didn't make both free throws yes oh yes all the school is wrong up kids they've got 32 17 you don't know yeah an arc our screen is correct is tomorrow so some bosses will yell at home all night once Moreland Moreland a single the fouls on Alex I was on the dolly up this second one with the old-fashioned three-point play he's get five all in this quarter his terrain takes a seat and mccormick enters the game 249 left to go in the first half every leads 33:18 their biggest lead now 15 placer doesn't really seem to have that player that's taking over as O'Brien drives right puts it in for two soon as you say that Ryan do it right he did left off of that Ray you looking for McCormick goes to Moreland drives right nice take good take by Moreland tough that's it that we needs a deuce start taking it to the hoop woman's gonna get to lose the fallen and the foul is on for Vaz okay that's gonna be provides its first both teams were 16 files so both teams are now shooting the one-on-one Nick Fowler woman's first free throw is good he's 2 for 2 from the line he subs for the fisherman is for Vasa as well as McDowell or out and the Smith Brothers come in with starting five out there for the fishermen 1 2 for 3 from the line 35 20 leaves back to 15 to 14 ago in the first half I'll tell you gloss is getting some good looks at this tile the balls not rotten farm and shoes against death right yeah we have to stuff we might be the death of the Panthers tonight 9 points for Marcus Smith in the corner 9 points for him there's Matt Smith Mark Smith rotting for three got it big oyster liking to better running at the huge 338 23 we're keeping that 15-point lead one way or another Monta Nino's guarded by rotting gets it out to O'Brien 13 on the shot clock ten seconds on the shot clock now lost so many good patients 5 seconds now they gotta go gonna get to miss foul throws it up towards the hoop it's gonna be a shot clock violation alright then we up 15 38:23 1 i loving the goal in the first quarter [Applause] Oh Bray you out there with rotting to go with Moreland Davies and bearer Bray you for three yeah Bray you playing like you did in the home opener two four threes tonight forty-nine seconds ago Ford was in bigquery team all nice pass it's gonna be Matt Smith up for to 35 seconds and Counting left in the first half each team with five different scores in this quarter bring you nice crossover drops it to Davies pump fake for three three from the corner yes Wow belly sweet with three tonight Davies nine points excuse me ten points in the first half and his first start at Beverly High some a second Oliver for three can't get it to go Moreland just Chuck's it not gonna be close as after that two from Matt Smith Beverley takes a 44 27 lead into halftime and Davies in his first start here at Beverly high school ten points for him Abreu playing very well he had eight points in that first quarter to go with six in the second 14 points for him in the first half with five assists in two boards Moreland of course he was hurting in that first quarter but came back doesn't were seven in the second quarter in Beverly just playing a very well-rounded game offensively and defensively Bentley shootin probably the best thing Sean all year that we've seen this year there what's that capable doing the big home court advantage so this is a good stop but Beverley again 44 27 and a half time we're gonna take a little break here Alex and then we'll be back for second half action sounds good stay tuned 27th out there for the Panthers is Davies Moreland rotting terrain and Abreu a lot of ball movement from Gloucester in this first possession Smith for three got to go then Smith continues to stay hot mile if he's got 12 tonight pobre you nice spin move getting by a defender puts it in for two beautiful kiss off the glass and Abreu still stays hot as well 16 points for him O'Brien working on Moreland Moreland I think got a piece of that as Davies comes away with the board [Applause] Freya's really stepped it up this game and we said we never know who's going to do it for the Panthers night by night as Abreu takes another three can't get the roll this time always going to get that the drop and all of our steps out in the corner there pray you let some amount lets them know it clapping right in his face 643 left to go in the third 46 30 Beverly looking to go up 18 extend their lead the rain with contact can't get it to go Davies last to touch it going the other way six and a half minutes to go in the first quarter colossal looking to get back into this now on 16 all the basketball to play long way to go good to see Duncan long okay Davies can't get a piece of that shot from Oliver rotting past half court are you looking for terrain gets it to Davies nice look to Moreland who puts it up he'll shoot two fouls gonna be on Mark Smith gonna be his second the second trusting the team mauling shoot two moves up good eight points for him after missing the entire first quarter and most of the second [Applause] can't get the second ago these 15 again biggest lead was I seem Tino Smith loses control at half-court gonna be an over and back a half time wins my good buddy Michelle Ryan at halftime Kelly Ryan sister so good to see her in the house [Applause] to reign in the corner rotting 15 on the shot clock ray you with it guarded by Smith has it thrown back at him thinks about pulling up gets it to Davies 5 on the shot clock Davies is gonna have to shoot it mid-range Jay got it to go good touch maybe seven in the game 12 points for him we're gonna get a timeout on the Gloucester side they lead 40 or the man throws lead 4932 alright quick trip around the gym tonight else we get some regulars here we see all the time Joe 40 friends buckler jazz McKenna's in the house with the forest boys ricky and bobo good to see a lot of the same people come out and support the Beverly Panthers the nice little crowd again the crowd style I was a little slow Alice was picked up the student bodies back over the effort Friday night we travel over the Salem date with the witches and that's a team that Gloucester just beat pretty easily last week and then I think next week we home both using Everett in Somerville and Everett both home yes okay okay all right so right so uh after tonight we'll be back here next Tuesday week from tonight when Somerville comes to town and back again Friday for the Everett Princeton tied okay 514 a goal in the third quarter Bellevue up 17 taken away by David Davies everybody has numbers slows it down rotting with it driving right by roaring nice take foul on the floor believe it's gonna go on one of the Smith's say it this is on locksmiths it's gonna be a third it is it is that's his third that's a big foul on him second on the team lots of playing a 2-3 zone out of bounds miss jumper from moorland tell you that we sell a lot successfully attack the hoop nice look by Smith to go down low I say nice job nice job Davies we'll shoot - excuse me no Davies with the foul it's gonna be Turner shooting - Beverly up 17 turn a nice ball fake up there yo shampoo and his shoulders Jonah's first free-throw is good whose have follows on Don Davies is second Turner knocks down the second also [Applause] Miley's lead back to 15 Davies Moreland to rain Abreu when rotting out there terrain in and out like a fast-food restaurant he's gone off the mark tonight halfway down Oliver gets it to Turner mid-range jumper got it good touch from him he scored the last four points of this game only a junior 49/36 leads down to 13 Gloucester trying to claw their way back into this four minutes ago in the third quarter Davies will travel and Crowley's gonna enter the game with three fouls he'll take Davies out you want to be quick don't rush Smith [Applause] good deed from Crowley you'll grab the board quickly get it up to rotting all nice pass old ones in the fall you'll be shooting two I believe if I was gonna be on Oliver it is his first the team's third one's gonna be shooting a pin again well Beverley attacks they're drawn a lot of fouls which is gonna open up the old place you know Billy keep attacking get to the line to get me lost a little foul trouble they're getting closer to the penalty woman's this is the first shot 29:36 331 that go in the third quarter here although this isn't boat you don't see that too often Smith bringing it the other way three and a half left to go into the third drops it down it's a Turner said four points this quarter Crowley's trying to rip it away and growling turn nothing possession I think this Gloucester's know it's gonna be belly's ball ground liam turner exchanging pleasantries after that whistles i'm sure they're talking about finals coming up I think they just asking me to eat jello what they go for Christmas exactly maybe mixing some cookie recipes [Applause] to rain down all right all night pass Abreu in the corner for three he got you can't stop those got him ray you little breathing room back to 16 Abreu with 19 of the Beverly 52 Smith floater good touch shot nice touch Smith lead leads the fisherman in scoring with 14 [Applause] Morland rotting leaving them open for three he'll take it Glalie off with the rebound not as a towel and sent away boy Crowley's means nice to my Snowmageddon quicker paste cloths are slowly cutting away delete it's at 12 now to rain for three while still hasn't hit long beyond the arc tonight more when was a good job but chasing that down hack Oh again woman's attacking okay he's drawn a file just every time in the toughness that this sophomores showing even after missing the whole first quarter with that foot injury he just keeps on plowing and plowing on mat mountain II know 155 left to go into the third wall and knocks that one down 53 by the way then once a given gloss out of a point as we get the same score now 42nd feels good Bearer and Kemara coming in for rotting and Moreland then we have 14 155 the going the third quarter Smith to Turner guarded by Crowley O'Brien for three got it to go good shot the rain was trailing on that blue Brian quiet so far tonight but he has eight cows to hang around they got it down to 11 not the beam down 17 a halftime that's a yep Visconti the Scotty had the right idea he had to Mary opened on the onion the left lower block Smith to Mountain Ino gets by Crowley makes a move good D by Kate nice take well Brian with the board and putback Brian with the last five for the fishermen 54 45 now Gloucester better to swim in ten magnet they've cut off eight points they've gone from 17 down get it down the nine now less than minutes to go terrain pulls up from the charity stripe back iron Beverly seems to be forcing it these past few possessions Gloucester being patient Monta Nino trying to get down well Brian he gets it to Smith up top instead so Brian nice pass to montani no head fake Turner it's got good touch can't get that one to fall is Abreu comes away with it nice bushing nice pin movement in traffic 32 seconds can you get a foul on Matt montani no I'll say these files a big because that's the fifth one on Gloucester and with 31.1 left in the third quarter Davies is going to come in for Bearer all right that we can hold for one hip you get 31 seconds ago we got 30 seconds on the shot clock so I would imagine they were hopeful one less like that's exactly what they're gonna do the Rupp nine they're gonna try and get up at 11 to 12 but that were sore up nine either way a lot of times people will look too long I like to tell the kids to stop going well eight seconds ago again it's ten seconds nine eight you want Steiner rain takes the pick from Crowley draws a couple defenders kamarra Davies in the corner for three no good so at the end of three Beverley takes a 5445 lead into the fourth quarter Gloucester played very well in that third they cut the deficit in half they now only trail by eight excuse me by nine what we got a quick minute Alex I had a mock Smith for seven points that corner yes right now what you have him down for the second quarter did you have them for just a 3.0 he had five points here tonight all right so I gave somebody else a basket did O'Brien have one basket of 2d had one give one basket O'Brien oh hey one in the second quarter he that's it right there so we're all squared away there okay okay we got an update darling Gloucester and the game is over we got a final score Beverly girls just beat the Gloucester girls down in Gloucester 60 the 45 Tim Duncan's send that along Tim thanks a lot Leon you got it right here we're letting it out to all fans out there Baldy win for the girls keeps him in second place a big one for the girls Belle Lee now trying to get a victory here up nine losses cutting back into it they were down 17 at halftime they get it down a nine yeah they outscored the Panthers 1810 in that third quarter carrying the momentum into this fourth Oliver baby hook off the mark Rowley gets it quickly gets it to terrain past half court he'll pull up thinking about a three he takes it Doreen Nikki long overdue big three the time up by Gloucester Gloucester took that timeout and Wow excuse me it's a Beverly timeout and Wow we have a timeout let's take a look at the road ahead for these Beverly boys the next three games all very important for the Panthers as all three of these games at Salem home against Somerville and Everett are the top three in the NEC South at the moment tonight so Beverly after this game against Gloucester will play another tough three opponents from that NEC south and it's very important because they need only three more wins to if they get the win tonight to clinch a playoff spot in the NEC for the Division one north well I'm dying to get a good look at this everything that they supposed to want to talk to you straight and I see the ever football coach who coaches basketball John Wessel we tie it from Everett football I just found out last week he's not gonna be the head coach it was a quick fine Catholic Memorial okay have you taken that program diamond dent laughs so long oh it's all semantics lot a month month and a half 57 45 lead for the Panthers to drain knock down his first three of the night believe he's 1 for 6 but that one crucial as it came at the beginning of the fourth Monte Nido to Smith in the corner he'll take a three in and out until Scottie get it down guys get numbers oh nice take that me guys it's sent by Orion look like Smith up for two no good rebound terrain montseny no ball that's gonna gloss the ball oh yeah jump off and it's gonna stay with Beverly do they not automate device they do get in the ball every time I swear - mm-hmm I'm not completely I mean and why not really swim 12-point lead for the Panthers pray you with the ball 19 points 5 assists 4 rebounds for him Moreland to Crowley swinging it a Bray when the corner sorry again that's nice ball movement more than will be offensive board turn that one over I don't think Davey was expecting that past the rain was a good defense when called for a late Wow it's a very late foul give me a third only the team's second on loss only is one more foul to waste we get 6 30 left to go in the game nursing the mob point Lee lost us a chance to cut it down at 10 just all of us shooting it knocks that one down he's got 4 points tonight knocks them both down as Turner comes in for Matt Smith please donít ñ 6:30 the gold well the pod burner gone hit Alex [Music] Beverly only scoring 10 points in that third quarter he's got to catch that ball you know it's the second time I thought the fastest comedy wasn't expecting it you gotta be expect that pass he's guarding turnaround the defensive end pretty aggressively he'll be called for a foul on the floor then comes the frustration follow yeah it looks like rotting is gonna enter the game probably for Davies actually gonna grab a Brit nope he's grabbing Davies no in timeout fishermen 603 left to go after Davies commits his third foul on the evening Beverley still with a 10-point lead but Gloucester is still there because of these minor mistakes for the Panthers like not catching the ball when you're supposed to turning the ball over in crucial moments okay while we get a quick break here to also Alice we're going to talk a little in our next couple games about the history of EE High basketball I know a couple years back they picked what they thought was the top five football players ever come out of Beverly and I think the name is taught five basketball I'll talk to anyone reach out but we're gonna start with the next broadcast next to Z and we're gonna break it down the first week we're gonna talk about the center's only of a big man because it all starts with B they win as far as I'm concerned and then the second time the next game after that we're gonna break it we're gonna throw some names out about the forwards all rebounders and then the third game we'll break it down to the gods all the ball handlers and I'm gonna throw a ton of names I'm gonna know none of them yeah no if you know if you you know something but I'm sure the that all lefty team that's gonna be a good one that is get all lucky I'll tell ya picking all lefty team Billy a bubble cause one of the best shooters I've ever seen out of every lefty alrighty with you'd be on the all left the team absolutely okay here we go 552 on countin O'Brien working on Crowley can't get it to go rebound Moreland though he's up ten Bray you back to rotting two-three zone there for the fishermen to reign a deep three just off the mark and you said it earlier this Beverly team needs to drive get to that line I want to settle for three point is the whole game [Music] O'Brien montani no great touch for a montseny no six points for him off balance leaning forward I'm impressed with him he's only a sophomore he's gonna be a nice little ball player he's got the height and he's got the handles too and he's got quite a shot good touch nice touch Gloucester surging they're only trailing by eight Smith to O'Brien download Oliver and easy to carry kutis might want to call timeout here again but he's gonna let him play it out because that was to e6 they're up 17 a half time all-in-one that this case one Society ever account Altos County Abreu he's got 22 tonight good no else we talked about Beverly has been very successful going to the hoop all night and also my stop you got a couch it I think they need to go back to the hoop she's not attacking glosses good you know five team fouls only only one more to waste and then you're shooting and the bonus after that so I would attack if a collapse then you pick out the other thing is who's got the hot hand tonight just gotta check god I know where your shooters are at all times some kids are struggling tonight with penny point this guy's got taught hand you got to look for him Toscani with 22 to go with five assists four boards believe he's got five made 3-pointers tonight six six there you go six three-pointers [Applause] 23 points clearly leads 6251 it was a big three can't get too comfortable with him though not at all 20 times what 23 to go in the game Smith bringing the ball up for the fishermen Turner to O'Brien working on Moreland Moreland could have been called for a foul there oh it's gotta be it's a late foul know what I'll tell ya just because someone falls over doesn't make it a fact that I easily called traveling and he bailed out by calling a five whose you call the following on Moreland new shot clock for the fishermen it's only his first Montana no guarded by Abreu four minutes to go in the game looking for Oliver close jumper got it to go Oliver with six points in the fourth he's mr.

hot hand for the fisherman cuts the lead down to seven 3:45 left to go in the fourth Moreland looking around takes it himself puts it all home 12 points for him and how crucial wasn't for the Panthers to get him back after what we thought was a bad injury for the sophomore huge get the air ball chant from the BHS fan squad ballin see I like Mullen I'm ray or three that's off because he was off dog big rebound and he's gonna drive hack Oh Crowley almost on the tip Oh rotting I was taking it away Crowley charging but it's a two for Oliver and Oliver adds to that total eight points for him in the fourth alone eight out of his 11 he's back on seven under three minutes to 52 and Counting Crowley in the corner every up seven to Abreu the rain Moreland from the charity stripe I like more with more than the mildrith on here and he I like it because he's attacking when he gets out ticking that nice little jump shot another three from Oliver that would have been huge for Gloucester was a heat check for him is Oliver will get called for a foul that's his second 232 left to go on the floor six on the team so Bella shooting one on one now at the excuse me Neff clouds I see one timeout Gloucester coming up and Davies is gonna come in for Crowley after this timeout while we're here we have a break let's look at the standings here at the NEC north/south see the Panthers are there sitting at third in the north just behind linguish and the ever team we'll be seeing in a few weeks in that Gloucester team sits atop the NEC south with a league record of four in one who meat of it I don't know not in the leak though let's take a look team that every site oh you know I'm looking okay yeah it was Brighton no yeah ever in English that that would be a nice ball game ever written in English the bulk is sitting at 7:00 and all y'all right yeah I saw the the one I'm nice to everybody knows is overall record you see those top four teams in the south of course probably playing Gloucester tonight and like we talked about two three and four over there Salem Somerville and Medford the next three games for the Panthers so they're taking their trip around the south as we reach the end of January all right that ways up seven with 232 to go on the game they've got the ball next file to shoot one-on-one so now a couple things now you don't know what issues I Alex and you're gonna know who your free throw shooters odd they stopped getting to a foul situation did you want your best free-throw shooters again he's I don't think expect in that pass he was just put into the game for Crowley probably for the free throw shooting in the offensive ability the throttle shy was a good shooter free from the rain almost got the n1 call and it was montseny know that bailed out terrain taking that ill-advised three-point shot he's taken about four three-pointers four feet from behind the line tonight missed every single one of them I know shooters gonna shoot out of their slump but well he's got one to hit that one just thought out the fourth quarter he's a big free throws terrain struggling tonight only six points for him one free throw one field goal one three-pointer seems to be a good foul for month and II know in the fisherman misses the first two well he could have made all three put him up ten a little breathing room knocks down of the third okay bellies up eight Beverly only scored nine points in this fourth quarter so far the wind to do for 5 from the line tonight - sky any gonna be call for that foul only his first fifth team foul for the Panthers so Velvets got one the way - OH - to go in the ball game losses down the ball on the side down eight Smith guarded by the rain I stopped in the belly who only get one time on Toninho drives by to Beverly defenders O'Brien keeps it in Smith for three no good Moreland can't hold on mom Toninho gets it puts it in he points for Monza Nino lead off block with a little press smile Davey's gonna take it himself all the way off the backboard get the roll and Moreland can't get the offensive board one and a half left Gloucester only trailing by six Beverly not making it easy on themselves to close this one out with the tough shot by Davies driving a language to guys hang roll unless you're gonna wipe the shot might want to pick that back though come on Toninho keeps it and he steps behind the line it's gonna be an over and back back foul on Blanco once it's being a gold belly only six they don't call him the cardiac cats for nothing and giving me heart attacks for years poked away Gloucester almost comes up with it but it's a brave who picks it up we're gonna get a whistle and a timeout called the Panthers 110 left to go in the fourth who's got a good time out all right bellies up 663 57 Gloucester outscoring the Panthers 12 to 9 in this fourth quarter I'll tell you why would you only get three fouls on him I'm surprised he's not coming back with him in the ever he's a pretty good free-throw shooter to buy let's see what happens here again now Belleville he doesn't have to take a quick shot you know use a little clock save you to shot who do you want shooting these free throws when it comes down to it I like I like moorland I like more along the way he's been shooting the tonight rottens when shooting what good all year from my long line Toscani one of those three and during just missed two of the three he took about a minute and a half ago those free throws would have been good right now move let's hope they doesn't come back to bite him on the button alright that was a little one for lo rotting in the corner it's Abreu drives baseline with the contact can't get it to go Gloucester Paul great defense from Turner in Turners played a quiet game tonight but very good six points for him a few blocks some key rebounds but I believe what the press mal trying to catch blossom he's a good movement on counter spot a little press that make Gloucester use a little clock bring the ball down there's less little minute to go now what I love 55 seconds accountant yeah so this is uh they kind of need some threesome Antonino could have been called for a push off as Smith takes a fadeaway three no good O'Brien can't get the putback he gets it block long just what you don't want to feel you want to put him on the line stop the clock and it looked like it's gonna be called on Moreland actually might be on rotting it's on Davis that's his fourth so Davies with a huge first half for the Panthers has struggled in this second half 4th quarter in particulars Crowley's going to enter the game for him there's a Brian this is that first free throw fortunately for the Panthers from Crowley back in [Applause] forty three point five seconds ago belly up six Brian misses both rebound rotting he's going to get fouled he's gonna shoot one on one [Applause] okay we shoot 101 here we talk about water huge 101 can you get it to go rebound Gloucester there quickly charging montani no driving baseline puts it up for two no good Crowley gets it no foul yet Abreu with it he'll hold on with 29.6 left to go and he'll be shooting 101 he's been the guy all night 22 points for the Panthers six three-point field goals that follows on oliver his third doesn't really matter at this stage though how many files they got but this 29.6 second goal in the ballgame bellies go up six just to make it a three-possession game which is huge got to make at least one there it is [Applause] knocks them both down or Bray you now with five points in each quarter at least so he's got 24 in the night as Oliver pulls up for three no good Crowley's gonna chase it down team he'll hold up he does he'll be fouled by O'Brien Crowley only two points tonight only five boards unofficially shoot two now to put them away actually got up a cylinder shape I'll tell you this mean he's a lot closer than the final school is gonna indicate the loan balance absolutely Glosser had it to within six with the ball the chance to cut it down to one possession but it was Toscani Abreu don't fall here now 66-57 three from Turner no good rebound to rein O'Brien will foul and for what reason any point with eight point seven left the only thing left to be determined is the final score so if that was gonna move on to be why 83 now overall Beverly will be three overall six into in the NEC it's worth noting that Beverly scored 44 points in the first half and since then only 23 make it 24 now after those two free throws from Doreen but it's worth noting in this second half only 24 points for the Panthers after scoring 44 in that first half it was a tale of two halves for the Panthers but they get a none they take a win here at home against the Gloucester fishermen 6857 and it was to Scottie Abreu leading the charge of 24 points five assists and five rebounds for the Panthers tonight well huge win for the Panthers tonight and nice that get that wouldn't before they go with a Salem on Friday night fight and see the witches Tommy Doyle over there coaching does a nice job with that team sailings been a great program for years but this is a nice win okay and this will be we'll be back with you again now next Tuesday we'll be back here for Somerville coming in Alex yep and I will be here on Friday for the girls game as they host Salem okay alright so I'm Tom Donovan along with Alex Lupo and we'll see you next Tuesday night we'll see you next Tuesday night you [Music] you

[Music] hello everyone and welcome inside the gymnasium here on campus at Beverly High School as we get set for Beverly versus Salem we have girls basketball on hand Salem coming in this game at 2:00 and 11 Beverly seven and four I'm Dominic Lorenzana alongside my partner here Dan Lorenz on oh it's good to be back isn't it yeah got an exciting rivalry game here you know I know the standings might not show it so much but it's a rival game you never know what can happen in these games should be exciting should be indeed Beverly coming off back-to-back wins a 60 48 victory over Gloucester so they've they've rebounded well since that tough loss against classical they have but the of a big big testament didn't have Moreland tonight she's kind of the leader of that team in terms of rebounds and kind of setting the offensive defense for them so we'll see how they change with that Moreland coming off a 9 points 16 rebounds and four blocks game in that 6248 win against Gloucester the previous games to Anderson and Bernard both have come on strong so we'll see hopefully they continue that without Moreland she is big piece of that but it'll be a good test the rivalry game that brings up the best in everyone absolutely Beverly looking for that complete performance today had a little trouble we heard in that you know that last game sixteen - at one point but they were able to storm back and when it shows a lot of character with the team so you know this bigot game we got to keep focused don't look at the standings you know keep the foot on the gas keep it going absolutely so we're just about a minute a half away from game time here as you can see the warm-up for the most part of ended everyone going to their benches to get this one under hand [Music] you're as interested we're talking about that complete performance issue and stuff like that and we've seen them struggle before too when more of them leaves the floor yeah we saw that the swamps of game we said Swampscott game yeah they struggled they're in a little bit with the under she had some foul trouble lost that second quarter in that game Carrera is the only senior actually on the starting lineup to Salem tonight that is the guard freshman Griffin [Applause] everything off perfectly by the way mr.

Chu 17 15 points on our own Bernardo real big 117 points five rebounds [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Beverly JRTC is leaving the floor and we're just about ready to get this game out on their hand [Applause] so Rosie Gaucho will go up against Beltre in the absence of morally as we've mentioned before to get this game underway and we are off the tip is gonna go out of bounds Salem will start with the ball Canton on the inbound for the freshman I'm sorry now that's Korea a senior I'm gonna vulture a little trouble handling it gets it back puts up a shot it's not gonna go and Anderson gets the rebound now Audrina back to Anderson thinks about a shot another gosh to Beaudry inside good look for Barnard and she gets it great moving with the ball they're working their way out to any they really swung the ball on the outside and they got Bernardo very easy look and she picks up right where she left off past there that looked like it was going for Griffith I don't know what she thought she saw there but God stuck that hand of the way Beaudry goes all the way down the floor no foul called there can't get a little layup Salem coming back hurry it takes it all the way up the floor forces one a bit it's not going to go and spray comes down with the rebound Boujis gonna go away all the way up the floor and she's gonna draw foul Beverley great start you saw so I'm trying to go on the inside without moral and already early didn't work for them not sure it's really gonna work too well for them believe that was Dominguez with the foul here I got the wrong number though from the book so if it is Dominguez so that's Sprague at the top of the key contested shot hey dr.

D should someone open on the outside the ladies play with two different colored shoes I don't know if that's an injury it's difficult to see if is there any rapping or anything so that's when the replacements putting up a long three air balls it completely Brea comes out of nowhere tries to save it but it's gonna go right to Beverly what beautiful pass by growed you in the Gaucho but she couldn't get so easy layup they still have the ball beau those.we puts up a shot I thought was gonna go was he comes down with the rebound and draws the foul good stuff only either without Marlon here looks like Gaucho is controlling the inside a little bit just grabbed a couple of rebounds already for them yeah she'll go to the line here most find like what Beverly's done already offensively passing the ball room trying to get open looks not being over light and she drains her first three nothing is the lead right now for the Panthers and she drains them both to stretch the lead out to for nothing [Applause] Correia from way outside not gonna go too strong Gogi grab that rebound for not everything sorry pass goes out of bounds it was tipped so it'll remain Panthers ball a little under six minutes to go here in this first quarter for nothing yes it's kind of sink very early here [Music] Panthers looking like they're trying to play very fast on offense do something we haven't seen all the time Anderson's hard to drive in there but had it stripped Beltre grabs it and gives it to Correa Salem looking to slow things down she looks like she's getting a play calling from her coach signals to the rest of the offense now the freshman Griffin with the ball gives it up shot from the outside again off the glass not going to go in Salem grabs the rebound [Applause] rheya had a decent look there had to go right off the front rim Anderson tried to grab that ball but slid her foot was out of bounds so we remain with the witches good defense by Beverly soon a little questionable shot I thought she got a play in from her coach from Springs they took a long three and maybe it wasn't there you know we're not down there we don't know what they call baby but it's very questionable the shot so far even without even without Moreland Salem cannot really establish anything inside Anderson from the outside we know she can shoot just a little off that time code you grab that read onto Bernard back to Anderson's from the three again but this time she is not shy to shoot though could have been parea takes it all the way up the floor nothing inside again Beaudry has some open options but she sides it has taken herself and she gets a very poor transition defense by Selma they did not try to get back and all of that I thought Bochy was gonna pass the one of those I look actually yet you know she had three on two but though the witches defender over ran the ball and Bochy was able to get that easy layup six nothing our score inside the Beltre turnaround airballs nothing there or not grab that rebound out of Beaudry inside the Gaucho couldn't quite get her balance over get a shot off swinging the ball on the outside right now but as you thought about the shot now drives in has it swatted away by Beltre though it's a possession grabs her own rebound it's going to be a jump ball though great start for Beverly Salem just likes out of sorts offense especially offense I'm not sure what their game plan is [Applause] [Music] really looks like hooray is dealing with something a little thank Allah she won't need she grabs I read that now and puts the first points on the board in the Salem but the three and a half way marks left Anderson drives a little bit stops she gets on the board with her four ports first points of the day it's eight two Panthers Beverly trying to be aggressive again on defense we saw him earlier in the year to that they do play a very aggressive defense Koch grab that rebound Beaudry try to try all the way hit before but not that time jump ball got the foul called on Sprague that's the first team foul on Beverly so far I really is really pushing the pace trying to get those transition points this is a lot faster on offense that we're seeing them play that I can really remember we've seen the play all yeah usually they kind of like slow things down and move the ball and some very crisp pass we've seen them just flip the floor completely Bernard steals that one gonna go all the way and that's a hard foul she takes a spill on that one well tradition even try and hide it traditionally Beverly's office we usually see it see the play inside out with its like to try to get more in the open jumpers drive it to the lane and they've been successful so far they've also been very good at transition Salem's defense transition he has not been there I think they're trying to out athlete them I think they can so that's Bernard in and out that time [Music] [Applause] it's the bolt but they get their rebound those we thought a lot of outside shots are not gonna happen though Anderson has it stops gives it back to go jury drives on the inside beautiful passing on the interior but that ball swatted away boy quick call that was a quick call I didn't even really see that much of a toss off of the ball I thought she just cleanly swatted away and went somewhere and the ball which is correct they almost give it the Salem Beaudry from the corner with a three it's 11 to now Panthers see sim to try to get something established here on offense he really struggled out of sync there I think she thought Correa was gonna continue to go and then she stopped but they will maintain possession of the ball at least 11 to our Sports youth 19 left to play in this first quarter and we see this from Beverly why especially in the first quarter see they are very good at giving up the fast kick starts and they've done that again he's getting their hands in on every pass every shot just completely not worried ago getting blown by nothing playing in their phase defense Salem kind of switches to a press here [Applause] and that swaddle a will go Trudy say Marie I'm not sure the press would be best for still if you remember the width of gaming played primarily press in the first afternoon Mowgli gave me that first half and they tried to press yet some initial success early on and then and then as soon as Beverly figured it out it was really a hindrance to the wind birth the defensive front but right now you know Salem needs to do anything they can to get as many possessions as possible as a long outside shot by Griffin it's too strong that false waterway by bogey they're stealing balls all over the place and the charge is called on her though I believe nope look it was a blocking foul that is on Canton the sophomore for Salem that'll bring Beaudry to the line just off the mark there on that first one tough quarter for Beverly on the free throws I believe that's the third one they've missed already yeah three gosh got the first two of the game and they have missed three three straight but she drains the second and it opens things up to an even ten point lead now for the Panthers [Applause] Freyja looking back at the bench and now signaling everywhere on the floor I don't know them moving without the ball by Salem they tried to force that ball in the truth Beverly defenders there that did not work out Salem gets the ball back the Salem office really does look like it flows through career low as imagine she's the only senior on the floor and that pass does get away from her even minutes ago 12 to our score again Beverly always take that fast in their games we'll see how they go in the second quarter that's kind of when they go into the low let's see if we said looking for that complete performance tonight so hopefully they keep their foot on the gas [Music] [Applause] Anderson drives inside then stops puts up a shot floated there on the top of the rim for a bit but didn't want to go in under a minute left to go Salem has done not much on offense as Beverley defense has been tough as we've seen all season even without Worland giving up no easy shots on the interior we would have a cluster there tried to put up the shot but it was swatted away now Anderson goes up the floor easy layup for 13 to 2 there's second [ __ ] are they different pauses thought about a pass and then throws it away let's look Becky Anderson now and what a great way to in that first quarter for the Panthers there were up 16 - to defend I like how many points they put up at the end of that because you know we watch them dominate most of the game but then I look up and it only be 10 to 2 when that was like yeah should be more but well they they ended that very nicely what kids are then you have from Beverly right now it's without whirl and they are struggling on the glass Salem has gone quite a few offensive rebounds on their possessions Salem though unfortunately it looks like they're not sure what their game plan is on offense Herrera is the one they're trying to flow through but and some of their shot selections I just are questionable right now and Beverly's defense giving credit they're not made it easy for them several turnovers by Beverly they're getting their hands out getting in the passing lanes - she did Wade's and I'm making life difficult for something and offensively Beverly they're really trying to push the place they're really trying to use their defense to create office trying to get some transition going what's the best word I would I would use for the look of Salem's offense and that awkward yeah that's a pretty good way to put it just absolutely awkward I mean sometimes the not sure if they're trying to take the three-point shot if they're trying to go inside you know I should give them credit I think they've tried very hard to go inside it's just there's just been nothing there and then they're forced to take bad shots a little bit better ball movement I've seen from this one Griffin on the inside there you go that's probably the Salem best offensive possession of the night easily 16 for now Anderson thought about it stops what's up a floater not gonna go she does that well that little think about the long shot stop take a couple more steps freeze and put up the drug and the witches on the board with another point first possession of the game they'd pass the ball very very well God easy shot got two points out of it I'm kind of wondering is the good tribe do that again Anderson did that move it again that little stop on the outside get the defender to come then take two steps to the other side freeze and shoot pulls that off perfectly oh boy that was ugly Anderson's going up the floor oh she hesitated on the pass there it was there the team speed by the way - is the other big factor we're seeing in them I've never these just going up and down the court they're going up and down the corporate they're rushing a little bit hit that last position by Anderson with a little ugly it looks like she's just kind of hesitated on her decision-making there one of those it's so open it's like it supposed to be all the way up before it's fine beautiful so many transition points for the Panthers in this 126 our score [Applause] [Music] [Applause] freshman Griffin put up the shot airbag [Applause] [Music] and Correia is gonna come back in the game she's gonna replace the freshman Griffin Beltre also checking out for Salem is another possession by sale I'm not sure they passed into the corner inch Charlie got trapped and had no point no choice but to throw up kind of a prayer absolutely Brad drove to the interior you a foul let's see what PA announcer said that it was an and-one I haven't seen the scoreboard change yet here I'm gonna trust that he got it right on the floor though that's mr.

Reardon on the public dress as always what they called that he got a right to just like I said he would he's great Beaudry put up a fight there she gets through it driving inside and that's the foul Beverly is really determined right now then they got the outside shot working with a nursin and they're really trying the Dominguez again on the foul for Salem that's her second [Applause] too strong on the heart shot [Music] [Applause] [Music] and that dried basketball the monitor really really messed up my vision so even with the big lead Beverly still struggling here bit in the second quarter the law it's the law so we're talking about 540 - we got 540 left in this game 29 our score and there's not looking quite as crisp here in the second quarter did you have a not all the starters are in by the way those who that's part of it a long three it'll look good too in an out though Correa grabbed that rebound and now she slows it down when Beverly that was McCarthy on the shot there for Beverly who's on the floor replacing Bernard and the layups not going to go Bakey from the outside not gonna go where that time either the other three-point shooter by the way for Beverly to as we've seen it Anderson looks like she's getting ready to check back into the game on that rebound but said what she looked to me as another open look but it's not going to go the initial one right in the back corner you know with that little squares on the floor she had an open look Clojure all the way at the floor draws the foul [Applause] variety thing when I looked in the score sheet it's a 21 was Dominguez but I believe that there Beverley needs to when the transition is not there for them then really needs to just settle down the half-court when they're able to pass and share the ball they're really getting some great open looks when they're not rushing in Anderson's been able to make a few shots 101 in isolation and she's back on the for now yeah well when they're when they're passing the ball in the outside of Henry change just can't keep up with it [Applause] more moving without the ball here without Dominguez on the inside against dodge swatted away see them gets the rebound but no clear shot there and definitely eventually gets the ball Anderson one dribble stop and shoot air-balled at that time all the way up the floor Griffin cannot handle the past Beaudry takes it the other way beautiful pass they Anderson another transition point for Beverly and that's I'm didn't rush it bogie saw everything in front of her got the defender to commit to her and then a beautiful pass they Anderson travel there aren't Correa everybody gets the ball back still had to get started rolling wrong remember scored on their first two possessions quickly had the N one and now it's just back to Concord offense like he said awkward Brook too strong Spray brook again from three bricks not being shy she absolutely not we've seen her hit plenty of those Korea all the way up the floor nice we done 24:11 [Applause] Panthers tried to catch Salem sleep in that time not quite Anderson from the corner look good but not going to go I'll try inside working against spray mopping therefore our so she kicks it outside and the travel far so 2:45 left to go in this second quarter Panthers re-establishing the dominance after after the quick two baskets by the witches to open up the quarter lackluster start by them Anderson from the corner beautiful shot 27:11 our score now Anderson having herself a nice game with the outside shooting about the foul line not going to go in and a reach-in foul on Beltre will give the Panthers possession of the ball again Salem over the limit so Salem over the limit now so that'll send Sprague to the line you know that really has to be careful good to strong the witches can't handle the rebound and the painful so get the ball right back Beverly's got to be a little careful they've been struggling this game with their free throws but the six are setting already in the scheme they got to be careful because if sailing decides to start kind of hacking and finally the clock is gonna stop on them Beverley has had two free throws with my husband struggling to do that the skin [Applause] three up the floor looking for got she was going out of bounds but he able to control herself to get the ball back out for an art on the inside has its waterway about Beltre gets her own rebound so Anderson thought about the shot not gonna happen boy no foul called there I thought that could have been physical defense money before absolutely let them play Beaudry not gonna go hit this get another rebound Anderson from the outside she can shoot can't shake and fun to watch pull hard on that past there and it's going to lead to an easy four Beaudry so far today without Moreland it's been Beaudry on the inside especially on transitions with layups Anderson doing her thing as she always does on the outside but the three-point shooting the offense still looks very deadly I mean 32 points in this first half still got her mins ago and Letcher they put up 32 and a half before hey you're right actually not the one that we announced at least that's why we get paid the big bucks absolutely and Bernard gets in on the action there 234 11 under a minute to go here in the first half so far did a very much a complete performance by the Panthers both quarters Beltre nothing there Salem gets the rebound now that's Griffin on the outside with the ball right now trying to direct traffic shot too strong OOP Beaudry tried to save it but couldn't quite twelve seconds to go we'll go back to the witches though a question to have a Beverly's former safari so far they've given up a lot of offensive rebounds without Moreland but I mean it hasn't hurt him still until we got 11 points so far it's lugging a say 11 and the defense other than the offensive rebounds have been great they've been a lot of transition points Anderson again there was a dribble two steps freeze and shoot so that'll bring this first half to an end Panthers not disappointing 36:11 our score I'll do a quick thing of what you saw and then we'll go to the break here just domination that wasn't word for it defense was great anderson seems like she's leading the score and especially in that second quarter one team looks more organized has a game plan more athletic the other team just unfortunately doesn't look I'm not sure they I mean seven and four or two and 11 Beverly doing what they need to do exactly all right so we'll sign off here and we'll get you back out for the second half in just a few 3611 our score again great first quarter for the Panthers [Applause] [Music] you are watching Bev cam here anyone can come to the studio to make their own local TV School meeting program so the students can have the resources they need to make dreams happen you [Music] [Applause] [Music] hello everyone and welcome back inside Beverly campus gymnasium we've got about a minute 30 left before we get this second half underway 36:11 the Panthers have built themselves a nice comfortable lead and looked to finish the job Dan you got some points here from what we saw in that first half utter domination there's no other way to describe does that first half Beverly controlled everything they had the transition was great by them half-court offense was great by them defense they're getting plenty of steals turnovers you had to nitpick something maybe they could be a little better on the defensive end of the rebound without Moreland it's an issue but zoom has not been able to convert any second chances so far you see on the screen there you can see Beaudry 21 Anderson number three and Bernard number 22 sort of led the scoring so far in that in that first half matters 18 points for Anderson 12 for Goldberg that's been pretty much their offense desaad has four points hasn't seemed like it's been only those two scoring Anderson we know we've had a couple she has had a couple big outside shots but for the most part it's been a great great passing when they haven't had the transition getting open looks I expect that to continue Beverly has clearly shown that they're the superior team right now hopefully we'll keep that up to this the second half all right hit those are on the floor right now ready to get this one underway Salem still talking things over and you know without Moreland kind of seems like the interior attack has been Beaudry especially off transit quick and then we see Anderson still doing her thing from the outside but you have to have you have to have that inside attack to open things up more Phil yeah outside shooting and Beaudry has taken that role very well oh yeah it's been great for them and Anderson like you said the outside shooting but a little two-step thing Shashi has done it's phenomenal the thing that Beverley kind of could clean up is the free throws if that if miss I believe six in the first half so Koch on that inbound and we're underway here good passing again crisp but shot not going to go there that's stuck up on the top of the board as you can see so everything looks real good in that offensive possession except via the finished product there but great great passing swinging the ball on the outside real well got the ball on the inside the first possession Correia with the ball the offense continuing the flow mostly through her so you see them tries to come over more a little a set offense loader that time I'm at that looks like actually a decent shot to take it was a sale sale this looked very as you said awkward so that was a good possession families didn't get points but at least they were able to move Bernard inside kicks it out to bogey the shots not gonna go though Freya trying to push it up the floor gets the Panthers defenders to over-pursue no one boxed out their freshman Griffin came in not gonna go another rebound and another layup not gonna go Korea again they can't buy a bucket right now Beltre on the inside loses her balance Salem still out the ball though Griffin from the outside in and out [Applause] and I can't keep track of how many offensive rebounds are all in this possession believe that was six I might have been Beltre on the inside not gonna go gets her own rebound another one well I haven't even know how many shots they is they're out of it oh four nine on that possession four shots open pass that Sprague cannot handle it Beverley maintains possession though at least got back out to Sprague Barnard middle range - not gonna go Anderson pulls the rebound but has it taken away from her by Correa and that'll be a jump ball and we'll go to the witches it didn't hurt him but that was tough over there lack of defensive rebounds there oh yeah that was a crazy possession I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like that that was a lot boy and then the tough shot goes in weird well the score keeper the score thing here they they got that wrong that too should have gone to Salem he got it right on the monitor actually everyone watching at home and they changed it for us here so it's early 36:13 our score [Music] back-to-back unproductive offensive possessions by the Panthers that ends up with the ball in the witch's hands Cariah driving down decent look not going to go and some more rebounding problems for the Panthers awkward offense awkward defense even to Beverly trickle ugly look like she had Gaucho open but she's able to draw the foul anyway so some of the things I mentioned earlier I'm having problems with Beverly defensive rebound that's Barnard on the inbound pass so yeah something to watch Beaudry's not a not a good decision there on that pass Florida too much but the Panthers maintain possession Anderson thought about it I'm not gonna happen shot clock under ten now in Salem bails him out with a foul second so now they'll get a new shot clock second followed by Salem on this possession Haley thought about it again not sure so we're waiting to double coverage gonna make smarter decisions here Caray along three and that's gonna go in 36 16 hours for and Angeles seen enough and he'll call a timeout so thing's butt-ugly there for the Panthers you know sometimes you build up that big lead you have a little problems especially right out the gate when you get cold and I think we've seen a whole lot here a little bit there was funny the first position by Beverly the shot didn't go in the ball still sitting on the backboard but it was crisp it was a great possession I mean the passing and I think you just got a little nutty I think a little bit but they said lems been able to turn everything very ugly on offense and kind of right now let's see yeah well wondering if maybe they'll try to get something going for Anderson I don't think she's taking a shot this half yet it's not yet so I wouldn't be surprised I try to get her something going I'm not giving her any space though either they figured it out an honor a little bit more all right substantial sat them down and had a talk let's see if the Panthers can come out a little bit better here now haven't scored yet in the second half five points for the witch isn't it as our sport of 3613 there's a long time John Bernard from three-point land drains it and it's 39:16 that's kind of a dagger Salem Griffin open looking got it just about the most open look that they've had all night Anderson from three look good but not gonna go in Dominguez pulls the rebound loses her headband the rep gets it inside the Beltre turnaround working against Sprague is good not enough on it just a bit short English and grab the rebound and now the Panthers up the floor and beautiful passing spraying an easy layup 41:18 I don't think all five Salem defenders go back on that and that's why Sprague had such an open look that was the key to the first effort only Beverly was the transition points they were getting it's easily if they can do it again to one to up the floor Beaudry draws the foul gets bail damage she lost control but she had she had someone wide open to her left yeah that was actually kind of crush small and that foul looked a little out of control but Griffin reached that hand didn't they bailed her out so just over three minutes to go in this third quarter 1:18 after Salem put up the first five points Beverley answered with five points of their own Anderson has her shot blocked by the board itself and goes right back to her now an open look from three not quite that time saved by spraying that's McCarthy number 10 on the floor for the Panthers it looks like a foul away from the ball there oh look like correction here that's white hair on the floor at number 10 the Panthers [Applause] [Music] [Applause] other contested shot not going to go in Beaudry all the way up for outruns everyone's an easy layup they just don't get back on defense no 4318 our score inside good luck there good passing 4320 our score now broke up a 700 run by the Panthers and Brooke Bakey it's a three and it's 46 20 I believe that 60 they put up against Gloucester is the highest scoring game for the Panthers offensively and it looks like they might be on pace to break that tonight there might be uh-oh Carroll is passing there but Correia could not get the layup so the Panthers get bailed out she came from out of nowhere by the way to get that broke thought about a three again and it's not gonna happen long shot air ball [Applause] Beverly getting set in there man defense big range - not gonna go in Beaudry all the way up before a little bump no foul but she has another open look again it's just too easy on offense you don't really have to change the game at all let's just give it to one person and let her outrun the entire defense though it's funny the most fires been really improved on their often sued the possessions have looked so much better oh yeah and here we go - here we go again Beaudry up the floor but also slightly off her foot a little out of control possession and now Brooke from three to strong halftime and white hair drains the bucket 50 to 20 now a 30 point lead for the Panthers [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Griffin stops and shoots not gonna go in foul there [Applause] Gina in Alaska is that the line for the witches that's the first foul of the second half of the Panthers 14 seconds to go in this third quarter 50 to 20 our score is this in one's first technical line tonight no they had to end one how they did that's right that's the other impressive thing we've seen about the Panthers this year by the way their defense they play they don't foul but they play aggressive on defense very aggressive they get a lot of steals he's got a little bit ugly there Korea put up the new didn't beat the buzzer there I don't believe with that shot not that it ends up mattering that third quarter comes to an end and Beverly is up 50 to 22 and by the way after that rough start we said you know it's about 4:00 4:30 into that quarter in the Panthers hadn't scored and I want a sudden I'm looking up and it's 50 I know it's what it was it came in bunches yeah so kima bunches made that 7 no structure you mentioned earlier defense still looks pretty active a Salem's offense looks like it's been a little bit better but the transition lifted by Bulger is just unbelievable that particular quarter they couldn't slow her down the only thing the floater down was herself yeah hitting it off her foot a couple of times but whatever stage we'll said to them on that timeout yeah they came out a little bit more focused there thank you say you when you have a 20-point lead at halftime you come back a little X daisy'll like the dáil shooters too by the way Anderson having said got 18 of those points you sit down for a little shooting in such a streaky thing they had the really ugly possession it was about six or seven offensive rebounds by sale and they but they didn't get any points off it I wish we had a stat guy just for that one possession I want to know how many missed shots how many rebounds there's probably double digits you got to think it was right double digits ah it's not rebound yeah probably about six or seven rebounds though so a few things that you miss Morland but for the most part if you looked at the score you couldn't tell now absolutely not [Music] [Applause] so they looked like they've moved into a little bit of a big bench a little bit try to get some experience in for them there we got white hair on the floor [Applause] we got McCarthy as well and we have Cydney Anderson on the floor now also for the Panthers [Applause] all right so about seven minutes left to go in this game 50 22 the Panthers like they have this one in hand so this is good too because uh Beverly has about three games to build three more wins for clinched the playoffs don't want to get too ahead of ourselves and it's like this one might be in one of those three that they need put down that magic number to two they're gonna have to play against Summerville next that'll be a tough one they're gonna have to play against PVD and Medford so summer go but if you want to be expect you know get ahead of ourselves here but you think that they should be able to handle business against Medford and then the Peabody game becomes very interesting they can't pull it out against Somerville at some of them I'm not just willing to back those games or not if she is and that this is the one games yourself are very nice timing perfect nothing perfect timing but Beverly when they play their game when they're active on defense and they're passing the ball around going inside outside getting image it with their jumps Moreland's on the inside it's a very hard offense to stop there's so many weapons that they have they can get them you know put the ball in the basket defense they're very active they like to get the turnovers don't foul a lot either and they usually have the size of damage too so they can easily get the rebounds steam is a little bit of anomaly with them rebounds but that's without more lime sauce the main rebounder [Applause] [Music] da chance break still pulled down quite a few was there on that one performed admirably long free not gonna go that time so like her a is still driving guessing isn't too much woman injury bike or else she probably wouldn't still be in this game we haven't confirmed anything it's just you seeing two different colored shoes you'd have to think that there's usually a rapping or some reason for it maybe a lot of bit crap on their legs already yeah I thought that was rap - yeah they're bringing them good tonight though and as we said you know the offense really seems to flow through her that makes sense being the only senior as we mentioned on the war Belgium Griffin coming back into them surprise Salem's keeping with their starters a little bit to score the way it is thought they might play their bench to they've alternated with Beltre quite a bit though yes [Applause] [Music] and a foul there it's the fourth team foul for the witches here [Applause] swinging the ball around right now on the outside the Panthers passing has its water away can't control torrential go back to Beverly possession so continuing the nice rebound Panthers since that tough loss against classical should push them up to three straight wins get that magic number down the two with a couple of games left and what else look really in sight right now very inside after that but as we said Sam came into an 11 wasn't the best year for them and really unfortunately for them the first quarter offenses could anything couldn't do much kind of suck them from the beginning Beverly she games we've done they past Arthur Andersen from the outside that pretty good there but in and out that was Sydney Anderson by the way not a lead so looks like she can shoot do though [Music] Perea inside and it's 5225 now and that boss still away we're on the jumper can handle it as Anderson which is I'll maintain possession of the ball this surprise Beverly's bench though you think with right now with being in is they try to be a little more careful football playoffs coming up an insight that you know they could be playing significant minutes injury ball you'd like to see them be a little more personal Santa's keeping a lot I started as an out to right and but that that's good for him that's good for the bench though for the experience definitely right [Applause] so McCarthy drains her first free-throw 5125 our score breaks up a 500 run for the witches [Applause] Mireya again on the lam been mostly offense tonight for the witches will see offices bed ii have to jump all and that will go to panthers way so few seconds over four minutes left in this one [Music] [Applause] so dude I think it's a big enough event especially since our team is in it thoughts on the Super Bowl I mean not to sound like a cocky Patriots fan but backup quarterback Nick Foles you know I want I would like a comfortable win for once you know coffee on the edge of my seat yes but I mean Nick Foles didn't get back from the last game he played it's the Viking he all played the other backup of that Vikings air defenses yeah yeah you're gonna blow him Case Keenum for having someone missed there blocking his blindside and formal that was a rough game to watch that was so bad I mean I only watch like the first half [Applause] what do you think it was such an emotional first wing the game before that yeah yeah that's always thinking too hard to come back from that I was just so funny too because I told you I was in Philly before the Vikings Eagles game and the feds didn't even seem all that excited they were like are you Nick Foles the Vikings are really good the city was not that pompe them they would hurt people who a melt like that we've both been there actually my producer just told me I haven't been the feeling I was just in Philly Doakes come on hot bad I'm telling you they weren't that pumped about it though oh yeah I have heard about that they could be a door too though those Philly fans you know sometimes they're you know with a couple of games and they think they're gonna rule the world you know Carson Wentz is the savior blah blah blah blah blah I was like John that was a long path she put that on the money my apologies and anyone from her family is watching this game but we do not know who number 31 is long before believe it JV call up it makes sense since more when this out so did you get to play favorite and she does it [Applause] yes so 52:29 our score then we got dragged in to talk about the Vikings game we still didn't even talk about the actual Pats game what do you think it I hope it's not a close game for the cats but no I don't want it to be it's not even fun sometimes I think the Eagles defense as good as the Jag huh yes oh my doesn't work I don't think they're secondary it's as good as the Jags will Jackson I think but some wine is as good I don't know if the linebackers are as good even so we should just not bother running the ball again Brady in the shotgun I scroll okay for I haven't said anything happened they said he's improving the thought I heard I'll be shocked if he doesn't play I pray it I'd be like I mean they've won Super Bowls without him but and they beat Jacksonville about him can you imagine when the super old no Edwin knows wrong you think you think that's gonna make people who hate Brady give him the credit I'm gonna be like ah the AFC was terrible he had Brandon cooks defaced Nick Foles come on you know it doesn't matter who it is Anderson's Andy Anderson drains that bucket there 54-31 our score a little over two minutes to go here in this game the key for the Pats defense is making sure they get soft Ajay if they can stop the run Dan Forsman Cosentino than any chances well you know that's what I'll track down whoever's your best weapon he just let's take that away and see if you can adjust Eagles have got some good weapon so to arts is a great tight end they have Allen Jeffery great wide receiver they've got they've got playmakers there's a reason why they still made it with their backup quarterback I know not too many teams do that no I just I'm really hoping for a nice 10-point victory where I don't have to bite my nails the Falcons game with the biggest Bartram victory ahead in any Super Ball was sick boy Sydow they've gotten better it was forced points in the Seahawks game 3 in the all the other ones so you know they're getting better at it get better a little bit of time just because one was a goal section the other one went to overtime doesn't mean yeah just because they were down you know the 28 to 3 at one point but no no no yeah 6 we won by 6 it was comfortable you only watch the last two drives that yeah it was very comfortable that office just I had to wake you up for that [Applause] some people just heard that all right so the jeebies back at the line see if she can get some more of those free throws the PA announcer matthew riordan just announced their name but you know up here and we were in the booth here we got these on we're talking it's hard to hear sometimes yeah our booth here yeah our balcony then our balcony booth balcony it's all the same you know it is all right so I'm still playing hard though they've scored a lot in this quarter though got a half that came in that but leave the score was fifty to twenty even though there's 55 33 so they've outscored them by that thirteen new of all that's been you know Korea facing second team so we do your thoughts on the Super Bowl I'm just saying is nothing to panic about there for the Super Bowl man I just can't get over the fact that it's Nick Foles I just can [Applause] [Music] but I guess Blake bortles I'm Abita so the Blake bortles be better off this burger he out dude yeah I know but they couldn't stop her that it might get us lost as a safety we're gonna play him we can play him in Haiti and he'll and and you didn't even get there and they could play him and man it now I'm sure Mike Mitchell will beat him in that well that was like Grasso all right I thought she I thought the rough wasn't gonna call that for a second I don't think she's gonna call it either police should maintain they have possession I guess they called it on Beverly or she called to the jump-off forever as in this corner alone that'd be great - now leads down to 20 outscored him 15 to 5 here in this fourth quarter long shot too strong under a minute to go inside past Beltran a little trouble handling it but she eventually gets it I bad that it's not Beltre I'll trade number 35 he the last go at the line again for Salem and too short on the first one and to short on the second as well Anderson grabs that rebound boy Salem is still trying Correia get you right in her face there on the press playing some angry basketball [Applause] long shot airball not gonna go there time expires as nolasco falls on anderson and that'll do it for this one Beverly takes this one over the rival Salem 5535 still a 20-point victory could be a little misleading if you look out of the box who are it was more dominating than that it was yeah the mean really the first half was all you need to watch the last game was gonna go first quarter alone was it's great for Beverly tough for Salem I guess it wasn't really much more you can ask from Beverly even missing there or there keep you know players in Moreland yep it was just great all-around win for Beverly I have to put football back into this for a sec beat'em didn't play down to the competition unlike some teams you can mention here the Steelers but anyway so the magic number is down to two for the Panthers now to clinch that playoff berth they've won three straight since the classical game and 5535 our final here Dominic Lorenzana with Dan Lawrence I know signing off until next time you [Music] you

[Music] hello and welcome to the Henry Cabot Lodge field house here at Beverly High School thank you for watching Channel 22 on the bedpan Sports Network Alex Whittle alongside Tom Donovan in coach while we were away Beverly put a huge comeback on sale [Music] I have nothing in the high school anytime you go over there and be the sailing team on their home court that's definitely a nice feather in your cap in fact I was so excited after the game that I made it a point to go talk to all the kids in the game yeah they did the little victory dance and everything but they are yeah they were down I think eight at halftime yeah they don't eat at halftime and I said they're getting it the first couple who's coming out of third quarter and sailing comes out hits two Wong's yeah pointers boom boom boom they're down 14 yeah within less than a minute and then sailing got another stop and that's you know Bell V was down sixteen so nice come for me I went and they won 6864 great win against a great Salem team that Beverly obviously the rivalry with Salem and it's gotten a lot bigger in the past couple years through her a while there Beverly in Salem was was tough but Danvers has come on as a big rival for Beverly as well it's good to see that Salem Beverly rivalry get back to where it should be now tonight Beverly has a tough task at hand they're hosting the Somerville Highlanders in Somerville no slouch that come in at seven and four they started off the season Owen - but have since gone seven and two since the first two games skid and this is a team that can put points on you quick I'll tell you I think some of our ticket back to my high school days some of them was always a big huge name down at the Boston Garden when they used to play the old tech tourney fact hate to say it for some was one of the reasons why they took the tech journey out of there yeah because I wanna lose they used to you know watch high school I guess there and unfortunately they had some maybe cindy has them yep flipping cars this master knee and it's too bad that every other City had a suffer for that one thing and again you don't want up women it sounds the whole thing is just unfortunately thing but I love them yeah looking at the stats from Somerville's last game that they were led in scoring by Tyler Whitney Sydney he had 17 actually they were led by Lucas st.
