middle of field it's been an interesting game coach so far but i'll tell you terre haute north they're they're they're playing stout defense against the dog so yeah their defense looks pretty good there's that jet we wonder if they were ever going to run the orbit for for a running play and the difference there just for you you guys at home that jet is really in front of the quarterback the orbit is more of a behind the quarterback kind of deception kind of play and that was the jet ran it successfully for about five yards dawson sturm on the carry he's a sophomore for terre haute north 511 160 on the carry beating up second and five same motion this time fake the jet this time russell's going to keep it on the carry just really good defense yeah lose about half a yard you know we're getting we're getting some uh traffic on text coach i don't know if you're paying attention to this we're uh got some guys at home that are encouraging us to talk about fishing and camping yeah if you're seeing probably only two guys out there that want to hear about that right now but by you saying that i'm sure it's going to escalate yeah it'll actually yeah from there right now it's my it's my guess third and six on the 25-yard line 7 30 remain here in the second quarter russell back to pass looking downtown oh yeah receiver but that ball is way too deep yeah pretty good throw he's got a good arm [Music] so another another line change here for both teams and another punt for terre haute north yeah a couple of four and outs there 7 23 remains on the clock here in the second quarter sound the north starting to take yeah they get warmed up in the d-zone over here that ball is getting closer and closer to getting blocked scruggs he waved it lightly okay and then uh went down on a needy and grabbed that one really smart play that ball hits the ground at the 50 on that uh this kind of a rugby style kick yep uh that one ends up on the 30 if he doesn't catch that it's still rolling if he doesn't catch that it takes a little bit of guts to stick yourself out there and even with a fair catch um catch one that's yeah that low to the ground yeah it matters you know scruggs hasn't had a catch yet tonight and he will uh he'll get his but uh he's had some nice uh catches on the on the punt and he's and it actually helps team you know they're in the 49-yard line of terre haute right now it's a lot different we've talked about in previous games a lot different than going 75 yards down the field 49 yards a lot different than 75.
huffman on the carry looking to push the pilot hammond's in there trying to push the pilot as well give him a gain of 1 here [Music] give them to call it second second eight ball on the 47-yard line six minutes 50 seconds and counting down here in the second quarter huffman back on the field trips with the tight end to the field here for the dogs hammond's fakes gives himself huffman across the middle for a gain of five nice run life back on the field looks like the dogs still no huddle of course but slowing down a little bit and kleinhen's kid was in and came out i think he at the beginning of the year he missed a few uh a few uh games at the beginning of the year good to see him back out there oh it's gonna be fourth down it's gonna be close yeah it's it's inches they're going for this one dogs stay on the field fourth and short ball on terre haute north 40 yard line signal comes in 5 45 and counting here in the second quarter dogs lead 14-0 2x2 formation hammonds will keep it this time and he's gonna force down to the 35 he ends up getting ends up getting almost five yards there a really tough run there no hesitation this follows huffman through the through the middle of the offensive line there nice pickup [Music] first down for the dogs balls on the 37 trips to the right back to pass still looking got some pressure now he's going to run to the boundary and runs out of bounds at about the 41 yard and there's two lags on the field yep looks like something happened on the boundary there um probably probably a hit out of bounds take a look and see they're sorting things out yeah blocking the back there by the by the dogs must have been fairly obvious the two flags came in pretty quickly so [Music] that brings it back almost all the way to their starting position here 46 yard line 41 excuse me first 16 call it here for the dogs ball the 41 yard line gave us to redmond still rumbling across the middle to the about the 36.
that redmond runs hard you know he's getting we saw him a few weeks ago i think we we love the game he played um you know two weeks back and great to see him out there getting some reps he's a hard runner works hard clock's still running 444 now second quarter 2x2 formation second and ten to go dogs taking their time here a little bit yeah red men make their bubble motion that ball is out to scruggs in the flat still on a nice wow close to your first 10 10 yards really close to the first down coach that's nice he's quick bring up third and one yeah really good move catch catch and run there pretty much caught the ball of the line of scrimmage and made uh looks like about nine yards third one two by two formation ball wrestling the 27 yard line hammons will keep it this time and gets swallowed up quickly should have a first down though i think so yeah they're gonna give it to him that is the old the old cowbell coach cowbell is excited cowbell alive and well yeah we love it clock runs 333 now yeah i think columbus north they're they're content they're gonna let this thing wind and they'll work it down there and try to get seven and they could take all the time with them they will hammons back to pass looking for spoilers and i don't know he knocked away pretty good play um i liked where that ball was thrown the only person that could catch that one was scruggs and you know he did a nice job going up trying to get it but just really good defensive back play there comes across and and knocks the ball out of scruggs hands and uh all around good play both sides there and in a nice throw the young guys we talk about all the time we try to get our young guys that play right there that ball's got to be thrown where your receiver can catch it or out of bounds it's it's not an inbound ball huffman on the carry now ball may have popped out it did yeah it did second second fumbled by the dogs here in this half and north terre haute north is the beneficiary of that one yeah that's just a really big play for them i do not think that terre haute has demonstrated that they can go 75 yards or 78 yards down the field yet um but if they could find a way to make this a 14-7 game going into halftime uh it would be a huge win for them absolutely they've done a tremendous job terre haute north has to keep this game within reason yeah they're just playing good defense and they're getting i mean getting the getting the two fumbles helps a ton but their their defense has played hard all right okay by the braves across the up for about a gain of six three minutes remain here clock running i think if you can if you're if you're terre haute you you can run it for five to seven yards you can actually loosen up the defense we know this columbus north defense if if yards start to get racked up their safeties will come downhill it will loosen up the defensive backfield and uh they'll be able to throw the ball a little bit almost an old bone formation there by two right that was just that was a really good defense i think it was blocked very well by by the braves but certainly the dogs were dawson hill looking to make a play just like that at the third and four coach you remember you remember like dawson was getting up out of that one you remember the bergman kid from the east on that game winner over here in the corner he just threw a uh flea flicker he was the thrower he was the dude yeah uh for a east score and east leeds and a big one at floyd central 21-0 yeah floyd central's number eight in the state they've got a couple of division one kids yeah and they're and they're and they're uh east beating nothing 21-0 at floyd central oh that's just all over that one way to go nate osterman big sack big sack that was fun time out here by the bulldogs they'll bring up fourth and yeah fourth and about nine for the braves yeah quick quick quick three and out is a nice response to the to the fumble um if we get a big return nice to see a big return here but with the rugby style kick i don't know if we're going to get a return tonight or not 149 remains on the on the clock here 14-0 dogs lead and two timeouts remain for the bulldogs and they are going to receive the ball back here so oh you probably got some kind of tick-tock move or something to this song don't you coach do you tick-tock no you you know that answer you don't take that that's i'm not going to ask you because i don't want to talk about it because if you do i don't want to know anything about it so uh every dad has to tick-tock at least every so often that's that's not true you don't think so i know i know it's not true come on now it brings joy that's that's fair you know what you and i have differences and i can respect that so later on we're going to tic tac [Laughter] not so sure i'll put it online post it on a bcsc site yeah not so sure about that either fourth fourth and nine for terre haute north they're gonna put it away scruggs toes on the 50-yard line uh-oh that ball is over the head of russell he's gotta take a safety and he's gonna kick it oh he kicks it to his own guy and his own guy who's gonna he's actually gonna try to advance that ball i you know what uh i'm pretty sure he can't advance that kick he i think that one they gave him a pretty good spot well that's interesting because it's got to go back got to go back three or four maybe three yards interestingly and uh there was a so the indy star this today put out top plays of the year top players and everything in the top play which i didn't know this was a rule and ironically just just saw it today um two high school teams i want to say muncie central and delta i know delta was the other one but anyways same exact play as that ball goes over the punter's head he kicks it if the rule is if he does not kick the ball punt the ball past the line scrimmage the offense hunting team can't even pick it up and advance it and in that case that delta game excuse me it was mount vernon who did it now the mount vernon kid picked up and scored so well that was close mount vernon that was right about the line of scrimmage ball yeah almost exactly like we just saw the mount vernon kid picks it up to down it essentially the coaches are yelling him to run and he runs 80 yards and no one touches him and he scores touchdown that that right there was really close to behind the line of scrimmage almost verbatim i think almost the same scrimmage yeah it might have been i'm sure it was yeah so interestingly i just i had a conversation with the guy at work today about that did not know that was rule and you didn't think it was going to happen tonight for sure well i told him we would talk about it and i didn't know we get to talk about it in real time i'm just talking 12.
i'm just glad you're a student of the game hammond's back to pass now he runs hammond's feet flag down going in flag down in the backfield hammond's still on his feet down at the five but i'm gonna guess that's an interior alignment holder yeah usually a hole and uh unfortunate stop the clock 50 seconds still too much two timeouts for the dogs two flags yeah i'm gonna pick them up well we're gonna offset and replay the down the redo it is with without the uh extra time did you accept redos when you were a kid in backyard baseball or football or was that not acceptable no redo yeah you guys don't don't agree just yeah yeah wipe it off and redo it or no i mean everybody had to argue about it you had to argue for a while and then did somebody win or was there usually you you had a redo okay i played in i played in the backyard in a redo backyard i mean there was a lot of trauma associated with calling a redo right you can't just do that but usually it was just one guy agreeing to you know he knew the game wasn't going to carry on unless he went along with it that's a good that's a good uh synopsis i mean usually it's the guy that owns the ball too right he's the one that's the most offended so he's got a stake because it's his ball right right he's like can't have a ball going home right yeah you don't be that guy you're always that's terrible if you're that guy once you're always that guy right right right yeah you don't wanna be that we'd and i know it wasn't you or me we'd be naming him right now yeah right exactly we we probably would there's no there's no problem about it and he's definitely not a sponsor uh that but this however not a redo because that ball's backed up uh on a 31 for the dogs that must have been two flags in the same penalty or two flags against the dogs but that brings up second and 24.
thanks again while we have a second to our sponsors of rudolph mortgage ovation technology first financial columbus wealth joey rentals jilly development and south central overhead door south central indiana and the african-american fundamentally county and give us the redmond here nope still on his feet big hit braves on number 27 for the braves but put a stick on him big hit the dogs have found themselves in the interesting position of having a hard time moving the ball 32 third and 24. redmond in motion don't seem concerned hammond's across the 20 to the 18.
and clock runs [Music] dogs have one time out on the board 10 seconds on the clock play coming in and coach bless can tell him just to hold it and kick and field goal yep late time out field goal goal a lot of excitement leading up into the last 14 seconds there yet fans calling time-outs and all kinds of things well they you know in case coach is willing to coaching staff needed a reminder of what to do there we always appreciate that it doesn't hurt to give a little help i suppose that help from the parents in the stands is always appreciated sometimes that's the difference yeah it is that in a little cowbell look how though they can never go wrong with a little bit of cow though dogs are on the road next week at bloomington south that's a seven o'clock kick uh b south having a good good year so far they are four and one and um and winning mightily so far just their first loss was week one following that we'll be back home for potentially final home game against bloomington north followed by a road game at terre haute south we got two and a half seconds until the columbus wealth halftime show coming up here at the sound of north and the homecoming court let's make it kick is up by carter and it looks good from this vantage point yeah that's that's a nice kick nice kick carter ward is good with another field goal put 17 points on the board for the dogs and that's the lead going into halftime we'll take a quick break and ready to enjoy the sound and worth [Music] hi i'm jacob martin and this is columbus wealth i am a financial planner here in columbus indiana born and raised a local kid graduated from purdue university and decided that i wanted to come back here to serve my community with money and to help people understand that this stuff doesn't have to be complicated it doesn't have to be surrounded by mystery we understand that there is a importance that is placed on what a dollar does for you and so if i can help someone understand how to use a dollar to do more than one thing that's a pretty neat thing to be able to do and that's what i do every day i often hear that it's nice to just have a third voice in the room or maybe it's a second opinion right depending on who we're sitting down with and when in life we want to be centered on the client and that becomes a relationship we're able to sit down and help people on a macro or micro scale where i can get to know them understand more about who they are because just like how i had to learn all of these things at some point in time in my life i'm still learning every day i want to teach people those same concepts and so we do that by helping people analyze that full picture we're best used by planning and helping people understand how do you use insurance tools how do you use investments how do i look at this differently if i am a business owner or i work for the state or i work for a large corporation those are all different things that matter and different solutions come up in that picture so we want to help people best navigate that growing up in columbus i always found that one of the things we did really well here was to work together i think you see a community that supports itself that it revolves around the idea that not everybody is an expert at everything we're okay with that and that's what we're about at columbus wealth so if at all you're motivated to better understand how money works in your plan and what we might be able to do for you i'd suggest that you take a look at our website you can find us at www.columbuswealthinc.com find us on facebook at our columbus wealth inc facebook page we hope you get the chance to reach out to us and we'd be happy to talk to you with whatever those issues might be you [Music] [Applause] pictures just gonna come up on the timeline and stuff [Music] so [Music] [Applause] uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] wow good job huh welcome back to columbus coveted fashion was different and around the exterior of the building and great to be able to do these things and recognize the kids even in situations like we have today so you go jim you were talking about a good bait shop well i mean if we're going to talk about bait shops for a minute i mean you and i go on a fishing trip with some guys every so often in michigan kent's bait shop in delta michigan is one of the best bait shops i've ever been to entire store across the street is fantastic as well top notch yeah you know the delis and the bait shops and those those things are they're just not around anymore not too many towns have those things in place anymore but really save some time could really save some time that way in the bait shop it's it's it's the the walmart of the 70s everything is right there that you need i thought they might be putting three minutes back on the clock here for halftime but they appear to be ready to go terre haute's got a long drive home so we're getting ready to kick off here in the start of the third quarter let me pull up my stat sheet and quickly go over some statistics for the first half running down the stats for north high school 10 first downs 29 rushes for 152 yards 72 passing yards eight for 12 is hammond's passing total yards 224 yeah two fumbles two lost fumbles one punt for 23 yards hammonds leading rusher tonight 10 carries for 66 yards redmond 9 for 48 and huffman 10 for 38. on the uh terre haute north side two first downs we talked about that a little bit earlier but they do have two first downs 13 carries for 16 yards 11 passing yards total yards five punts for an average of 20.8 three penalties for 15 yards carter ward set to kick it away here in the third quarter john what do you expect to see you know i i really think you know i mean columbus north going to win this football game um they're just a better team um maybe a little bit deeper tonight got more players um you know terre haute just looks a little bit outmatched but but they're in this game better in a better spot than i thought they'd be um i think you got to get huffman back in the groove uh so i'm expecting to see i think we'll see a little bit more hub huffman just to get him you know he got two fumbles in the first half that doesn't leave him sitting well he's out for a week with the ankle you want your best you know he's your best guy on offense basically and you want him back in the game i think get his head right and uh and make him feel good good second half and fix him up uh i also think you're gonna i'd be surprised hammonds doesn't go over 100 yards rushing tonight and probably 100 yards passing our 150 yards passing so he'll have a he'll have a fantastic night again as we come to get used to well here we go that kick from carter in the end zone as as typical and the brother is a great kicker he sure is he's got a boot for sure braves will start with the ball uh different formation what we've seen here so far split backs and they'll give it to the offset back and he's got room on the outside for a game good run about 10 yards 10 yards that's 23.
damon stern we saw him a little bit earlier he's a 511 sophomore for terre haute first intend to go dogs lead 17-0 coming out at halftime balls on the 30-yard line same formation tied into the left split backs same play opposite direction that time for a short game that first play they bounced it outside a little bit i thought maybe they saw something uh in the first half made a change but that was more of the same rushing it straight downhill and you see the difference in a two-yard game versus a 10-yard game they have not had success yet running straight at columbus north defense two by two formation this this time second and eight orbit deep motion this time and they give us to cherry swallowed up there by the dogs nate he's had two what what are right on the edge of wrestling moves tonight he had a sack earlier today where he just flipped the guy over and that one he just whirled him around and tossed him he doesn't seem to go away does he no he's a big boy appears to be right he is right there yeah he's the center of attention and just like that we're third and long here again for the braves ball on the 31 yard line two by two formation and cherry the back switches to the other side russell on the gun he's going to look to throw he's going to throw octopus over his head and bring up fourth down yeah i mean that play even if chair catches that ball he's he's getting three maybe four yards he's gonna get bounced out of bounds there so great great uh three and out for columbus north look good john you said the central chargers have a football game tomorrow at bedford yeah the yeah the young guys the seventh seventh and eighth both traveling down to bedford uh tomorrow should be fun short punt this time is scruggs not going to be able to get to it 37.
we don't know much about bedford [Music] tell us about those charges a little bit this year how's the how's the season going yeah the uh you know you're fortunate right you don't get to select the kids that come to your school i think you know for for for football these kids get to make a choice between the schools and um seventh grade team is is well coached and really good uh group of kids a lot of big kids on our team and some good skill players but our offensive defensive line is really quite sizable the eighth grade team uh so seventh grade teams undefeated eighth grade team is is a really good team too they've only lost one game they lost the game to the seymour club uh which was a good eighth grade ball club um a few weeks back so both teams playing really well um good kids and uh yeah having a great season and just happy to have a season quite honestly um didn't know if we were going to get to play so been great hammond's trying to get a quick shot out there to make daniel and it was dropped bring up second and ten two by two formation here for the dogs they brought everybody sure did braves a good play there you know uh they brought about eight guys maybe nine and uh loss of uh one and a half yeah redmond with a carry and had nowhere to go i'm kind of hoping the the dogs were able to open up the offense here a little bit yeah not not so in the first couple plays third and called 11.
35 yard line 2x2 formation ball in the middle field this time looking yeah yeah he just unfortunately cass setter if he throws that ball when he's in the middle of the defense cass setter runs for 15 yards there he waited hammond's waited and threw that and threw the ball once cass letter got out there in the flat and he you know it's probably six or seven yards too late by that time the i think it was the outside linebacker had caught up you know near side outside linebacker just follow him across the field and caught up with him dog is going to punt it away here ball on the 37 yard line that's an outside snap and the punch gets it away he kills a good one fair catch signaled at the 24. wow he kicked it from the 21 to the 24. nice kick on on a questionable snaps just the second punt for north no wind so i mean the wind didn't affect it but that's a really good kick for as high as that snap was that was a dynamite kick talk about it all the time 80 yard field 75 yard field if you're if you're the terre haute team it is really hard to score points tonight start with the starting positions they've been in they got to find a way to get a short field even the fumbles haven't been in their favor really you know they've been short long fields even on the fumble so braves with the ball here tight into the right ball in the middle of the field split back under center russell's going to give to that same sophomore back and he is good tackle a little high tackle was high there but uh wrapped him up holt on the tackle for a gain of two coach we're going to talk about 80s sitcoms and uh family night programming here in a second so because i'm a courtesy i was just saying i would just heads up and let you like i was just happy that we started off with a scooby-doo float i mean give it to oh wow that's good we wrapped him up [Music] yeah yeah 52 nate's having a nice night connor lutz on the carry for the braves he's a five eight senior and short to no gain there customer just looks like he wants to throw the guy he's tackling him but he's grabbing him and trying to looks like he's gonna throw a guy osterman plays like he takes up a third of the field out there yeah he is is a absolute stud yeah my god dawson's out there right now we're going to talk about dawson next time out he got a big push there two guys double teaming him savion's in the ball was broken up there by jamal king and arvin holt was right behind him as safety and ready to pick that thing off and i haven't talked too much about jamal tonight he's a great player loved jamal that might have been partially blocked pump was out of bounds there tyler blythe i think tyler got a piece of that one finally he finally he went he ran the whole time they keep trying to do the sprint out rugby punt and and i think tyler finally got his hand on that one a little bit short field 40 yards i gotta look forward to getting some points on the on the board here for the dogs eight eight minutes nine seconds remain here yeah they got a score here it's almost like they've lost a little bit of mojo uh if they go in here they'll get it back and give us to huffman up the middle for a gain of four you know we really haven't seen um you know in the first few games we saw a lot of big runs in the middle of the field terre haute has done a nice job of shutting down you're not shutting it down completely but we haven't seen 30 and 40 and 50 yard runs tonight uh so terre haute's defense done a pretty good job they really have gave this to huffman again he's looking for room across the middle and again about three are games and what that's out of their flag yeah i mean if you're terre haute and and you're giving it to huffman and if you're giving him three yards of carry you're probably pretty happy about that that's coming back preliminary calls a hold against the dogs nobody's happy about that one game is a lot of time left but it seems like it's a little i don't know a little closer than we may have thought yeah i don't think it's due to mistakes by either team but just a pretty pretty evenly played game oh yeah the terre haute teams played nice defense and uh and and you know the the two fumbles in the first half didn't help um those are probably points if you if they keep the ball a couple a couple of them happen deep in the in territory there so it's probably a 24 point game and that one's a it's going to be a false start on the center yeah that's a mental error that ball was snapped and nobody was moving and humans did not expect it so that'll be a second consecutive penalty from the dogs and be second five more 22 second forever dad in the stands reminding the kids to wake up on the field helpful trips with the trips with the tight end here ball in the left hash for the dogs hammond's gonna fake redmond looking down the field and he's looking for castetter just out of his reach wow that uh cassette wants a flag it looked pretty clean cass that are you know he was only about one step away from grabbing that ball uh but uh as you see there double cover on him they they know he can catch it uh so they're not gonna let him have one easy just out of his reach third and let's see what page of the playback coach bless has for third and 22s here seven minutes 27 seconds remain here in the third quarter ball now on the north 47 yard line after across midfield going in the wrong direction and there's another flag wow that's a delay game yep i just found out east won their football game tonight 35-7 good for them that was our first true road game the only other road game was here at max andersfield so yeah they went along uh they went a long way to play down there was it floyd central is that it floyd central yeah that's right football team yeah they knocked off the eighth ranked team at state home of the highlanders the men in skirts oh there's a gift there we go huffman across the middle he's still on his feet still gunning first down across the 20.
out of bounds [Music] at out of bounds there by terre haute should give him a few more yep shoved him out there around almost to the track when he hit him there coach so frustration there huffman great run first great run we've seen from him tonight really nice to see him out there you just talked about north being able to break break a big one down the middle and and there it was yeah you got to figure eventually it's coming right um too good of a running football team terre haute's done a nice job but uh huffman just evaded a lot of tacklers there good run third and 27 you're thinking pass protection pass coverage and he runs for 50. give it to you give it to your senior huffman with the carry again still on his feet across the six six i'm excited for this uh conversation we're gonna have about 80s sitcoms really was it sitcoms i mean is that what they called it in the 80s yes well like what do you call like what where does like where's love boat like where's that stack in well we're not talking about love boat coats that's not how we're going to lead into this thing certainly not fantasy island maybe a little more fantasy island i was thinking more late 80s than early 80s but i can go either way redmond late flags it's not dallas it's not dynasty wow no i mean did you want my dogs were you allowed like could you watch dallas i mean do you remember when j.r got shot no i didn't know that was a big deal i don't think i cared i remember my mom like couldn't wait to watch it right then she would usher me off and i'd have to leave while she watched dallas you know i wasn't it wasn't something i was allowed to watch duke's a hazard oh every episode yeah religiously come on now i mean there's good shows out there that different strokes in the afternoon different strokes i mean webster there he is oh yeah that's gonna be a touchdown for the dog that's mcdaniel excuse me that's blyth on the reception yeah hammond's to blythe for a dogs touchdowns that's a good throw and catch right there good to see them bounce back after yeah several penalties wow falcon crest is getting propped up in here that's that's the stretch that's a reach i don't i don't know if anybody watched that did you watch webster i did yeah i like that show it was on every friday night at seven we would go i know i know you care about this we'd go we'd go to the american legion for the fish fry yeah yeah get home early enough at seven o'clock we watch webster uh just like that the dogs lead 24 to nothing my grandfather was a stickler for a fish fry i mean if you weren't at a fish fry [Music] frying [Music] back here at max anders field the dogs lead 24-0 631 remains here in the in the third quarter another solid offensive drive despite some penalties there by the dogs and carter ward's going to teed up about silver spoons coach loved it a kid had everything yeah he had a train in this house he had everything this is weird it was it was envious yeah different strokes was a great show ah yeah i was probably one of my favorite shows you watched uh you followed up with facts of life yeah oh yeah true team facts alive yeah sure the whole thing yeah that's a good afternoon a tv right it was probably on late at night or at first and then i think they moved it to the four o'clock i don't know when it was on it i think it was like originally like a seven or eight eight eight pm all i know is webster was after the fish fry on friday and of course there's no you know we had vhs but we didn't have the ability to record so you had i mean you had to be there i remember of course my uh my my good friend's dad was really into you know like you have the dad the friend dad that was into technology they were a beta family and even for the people that weren't into technology all knew that beta was a bad decision oh that's just a big hit ball is loose big hit by the dogs in a fumble and they got it back wow wow that right there was the stick it was actually an illegal procedure there by terre haute nobody called it a really big hit that's now columbus north looking to yeah i think you're trying to attack another one on you want to get your second second string guys in and so if they jump out here get another quick touchdown and you hope to see a couple guys that don't get don't get as much time come in the game luke blessing on that stop for for the dogs there was a it was a shot the first and ten here from the 16 yard line it's not going to go to the air you got a cast letter well give it to huffman he's going to bounce it off the boundary side he's got room to go loading up and down at the three yard line that's the that's the huffman get huffman feeling good again he's running hard my mistake he's down at the seven yard line it will be a first down first and goal yep one or two more plays here but i'm going to go in oh quick snap i think the dogs might have had 12 on the field i think mental metal here i'm playing well but not not can't be pleased with the no with the number of flags yeah you can't uh can't have that let's see we got now we got three coming in and one or two coming out so we're going to get back to 11 one way or the other here coach yeah we're going to do it the hard way simple math you just count them no no flag pretty good discussion well interestingly that was a direct snap to him excuse me huffman called that called that one and then it stopped almost immediate as quick as it started yep so this is goes in the old uh this one the do-over redo yeah redo it that's a my bad redo yeah it's like the officials it's a do-over and that's okay yeah second goal here excuse me it's still second and two ride them in boom huffman barreling ahead for another dogs touchdown rolling over everybody really hard running gotta feel good for him after that big score after two fumbles and an injury see that right there i you know you you 17-0 first half you would have expected the bulldogs to have a few more points than that this is just an ex it's got to be an exhausted terre haute team right they're just they're just not enough guys over there to to cycle through they're not playing you know 32 guys they're probably playing 25 guys tonight um they gotta be tired right that's a that's a heavy load to deal with yeah consistently big guys hitting you down after down it's gonna break eventually i think we'll see what do you think [Music] rue off mortgage innovation technology appreciate their generous contributions to be able to bring the telecast to you tonight overhead door of south central indiana and our newest sponsor the african-american fund of bartholomew county card award kicking it away from his own 40 and to the end zone again another touch back he kicks it nice he gets it in the end zone almost every time we see him put it in in the air good kicker well as a former special teams coach coordinator i can appreciate a kid that puts it in the end zone pretty much all the time yeah it's good for your team it makes makes it for easy coaching and easy film sessions how about game shows game show guy yeah watch the occasional game show i mean my mom again you you watch some dallas or some dynasty but you always had to mix it in with a little bit of like newlywed game i mean that was that was on uh remember you watched the newlywed game sturm on the carry for terre haute north for a game one the uh you know i i don't watch that i watch that stuff then i'll flip through once a while and find it now and just watch a sliver of it and think back that was pretty rough oh let me tell you there's things that they were getting away with things on tv back then they shouldn't have been absolutely oh pretty good pretty good look there just threw it behind him yeah he he was available i mean it was a different it was a different time right little discussion with coaches there in the box a lot here's the answer what's that how many penalties yeah oh that yeah man penalty there's a lot of penalties tonight third and nine here for terre haute north russell's gonna roll to his left looking he's got a receiver available and pretty sure it's i think the answer to the test question on how many penalties tonight for columbus north i think is eight or nine that's jason cottrell the 510 senior for the braves that was a replication of the first completion they had in the first quarter just opposite side of the field over here that's the first down for terre haute north 531 remains in the third quarter russell rolling to his right this time looking for the same play that ball is also complete good catch good passing catch really good passing catch out to the 50.
it's definitely more of that that was good devin stillwell on the reception there 165 senior for the braves moving the ball again another first down i'll tell you if you want to clean it up though i remember you got that the some of those shows 70s 80s lawrence welk come on now remember lawrence welcome i my dad had that show on i thought the tv was broken and i thought how in this i still do we still talk about how in the world does that entertain you dad that's luke bless on a [Music] set the corner and just swallowed up russell does a nice job on contain and then gets off his block to make the sack brings up a second and 15 here ball on the 45 of the braves 4 31 clock running here in the third quarter russell quarterback on the character run he's got rubrio dancing around oh he gets hit hard but that's a great run nice 10-yard gain there so who had to change the channels at your house i mean somebody had to get up and actually kids nowadays don't understand you actually had to stand up back then yeah and turn the dot turn the dial yeah click the dial and yeah who did that at your house well if it was if it was um if it was that it was nobody because it was stuck on lawrence walk the whole time just short they got it they got fourth and one on the on the 41.
i would guarantee you they're going for this josh burnett thanks to josh burnett by the way he's a one-man show running all the cameras and all the video footage and everything for us he just he just sent me a and he said terre haute's mascot of the patriots i've been calling the braves all night i don't know what's wrong with me that's gonna be a first down though this time for the patriots not the braves maybe terre haute south i'm gonna look them up maybe they're the braves they are the braves look at that right there it is terre haute south of the bridge i'm sorry all you beagle county folks that are watching right now i'm glad i'm biased i'm only rooting for the bulldogs over here oh i owe everybody in view accounting tremendous apology i am wearing the indiana state uh polo right now dr boseman's a nice guy i let him off the hook now i've sent that school a lot of money there you go i apologize under route this time and tipped oh boy yeah that was a shot across the middle and that's jason catrell uh i took a shot late across the middle there by osterman and awesome late flag osterman um hit him real hard a bit higher than he needed to uh in the official's uh opinion and uh yeah he hit him hard personal foul that's gonna be 15 yards for sure boy hit him hard that's one of those things where the defensive lineman just he sees the play develop and he pulls back he sees the floater being thrown and and he meets him right where the linebacker would have been standing and he's going pretty quick right when he hits him so osterman's not a small guy no he's not i know nate's a great kid but that that ball was gone and passed him and he he put a hit on him can't do that years ago that would have not been a penalty but now it is yeah trips to the left here for terre haute north russell rolling out looking at that ball and nearly picked off maybe it is it is that's that is picked off by that's picked off by scruggs he's excited that's just i mean that's good cover right there i'll tell you he flag over there coach well he's been covered up all night on offense and i tell you it's nice for him to get a big play on d is there a flag on the field sideline warning yeah probably celebration yeah they're getting excited no enforcement of any yardage on that but if there is a i think he the official signal that towards uh terre haute north but maybe he was mistaken first intent here for the dogs ball in the eleven hammons he's got him back to pass he's looking at her downtown and overthrows him and he had a step yep he had a step i mean hammond's threw that ball where he he throws it short it's getting picked um really well thrown ball just one step too far off some arm and strength there but yeah he's got it he's got it there he's got it in him 244 remains in the third quarter 31-0 dogs lead here at max anders field hammond ham's going to keep it he's got room on the outside over here still up flag flag is thrown from the back judge [Music] i didn't see the penalty there we'll see i don't know if he did john but you know it didn't look like hammond's got a face mask or anything it's on it i couldn't see that face mask yeah here's the call of face ended up being a face mask it must have been light yeah it's pretty high there five yarder that's gonna be five yards yeah that probably just got tangled up a little bit you know you get the finger up in the face mask when you're trying to catch up with him or something and accidentally grab on to it for a second dog's quick to the line here 237 remains in third quarter ball in the 47-yard line on the right hash hammonds and he's back up the terre haute team is still playing real football they have not uh they have not given up yet and uh it's great you don't want them to give up down 31 nothing it's hard to stay in a game but their guys are still getting after it good for them clock runs almost look like a huddle there from the dogs would you would you would you constitute that as a huddle coach it was a huddle i think they're trying to there you have slowing it down a little bit huffman emotion hammonds will keep it across the middle for about a gain of four bring up third and three blythe checks in hammond's huffman out cass setter out third and four 132 remains here in the third quarter dogs lead 31-0 right in the middle of field there dylan redmond on the carry he's the five eight 175 junior first down for the bulldogs yep nice nice run redmond clock runs first down ball on the 46 yard line yeah they're comfortable to slow it down a bit here same formation redmond's still in the game he flares out and ham's going to keep this one yeah that's good that was good linebacker play right there really nice lag on the field that was number 15 for terre haute north sammy saunders you mentioned good linebacker play he was just coming downhill hard and filled that for uh i mean it was just a really good play i mean he he split he had he was the only guy that could make that play and he did he did a nice job i mean that's got to be 100 to 125 yards in penalties or maybe a bit more i mean that's definitely more than ten penalties tonight i don't have real-time stats but i i the first half they had 51 40 yeah i was going to say we've seen at least 40 this half so interesting in a game where it's 31 nothing coach is still gonna find something to be upset about i can guarantee on that penalties uh do not make coaches happy hammonds with the keeper across to the 45-yard line another flag that's a late hit that might be a late hit shove out of bounds didn't appreciate it yeah nice late hit oh now we got another flag on the field a little chippy yeah well that's what happens you know you get a team that these kids are competitive it's 31 nothing nobody wants to you know nobody wants to lose kids get pumped up and uh unfortunately they're still kids yet they haven't got complete control over their emotions and so you get a little excited start saying things and the flags start to fly so that's unfortunate we'll see how this is sorted out here two flags looks like there's going to be my assumption two personal thousands north this is 15 and let's see how this works out i don't think it's 15 plus 15.
i think it's just 15. yeah well the second one was after the play well i guess they were both after the play yeah they're gonna take the one play was over yeah all right hopefully that's done and over and over hold on here they go they're going to go the full oh they're going to go and sport something like that yeah that's two boy we break out the rule book there that's that's a 25-yard foul right there collectively well good opportunity for the officials to have a conversation slow down let both coaches talk to their kids get them get them settled have a conversation and get back to play clean football here [Music] and north terre haute north's going to take a time out here probably a good time looking for a new home well you might need a loan you know applying for a mortgage doesn't have to be so tedious or time-consuming introducing loan butler by ruoff home mortgage loanbutler makes it easy to apply for a mortgage online by compiling each of your important loan documents into one secure space just a clickity-click and before you know it you're home delightful apply online today visit lonebutler.com we can watch back here at max anders field 45 seconds remains in the third quarter dogs lead 31-0 terre haute north taking a time out catch your breath and have a conversation calm things down there's a little bit after that everybody had to walk away from that one a couple of penalties there by the patriots so it'll be first and ten ball rests on the 17-yard line terre haute north hammons takes the snap gives to redmond runs and bulldogs do not need to run a play here in the third quarter and they won't yeah no sense in it take a break well it looks like we're going to see one more score coach my guess is we'll then see some guys that want to get in and get some plays in i haven't yet have haven't been out on the field yet tonight unless we hope see if they'll let the varsity in times like these you need all your assets to work together in the field in the office and at home for over 25 years ovation technology group has been the local leader in creating i.t solutions that work and save you time and money from data security and hd thermal imaging to phone solutions and managed services integrating all your systems seamlessly ovation technology group for times like these a proud sponsor of columbus high school sports back it just sharing my apologies again with all of eagle county for mixing up their high schools i i hope i did not fight civil war somebody's upset uh started the fourth quarter here at max andrus 31-0 uh looks like starters on the field here for the bulldog so the coach blesses will apparently be seen if they can poke this one in and they'll see if they put some subs in at that point [Music] give us to redmond up the middle and still nothing there what about what about magnum pi yeah i watched some magnum pi a little bit of a team yeah 18 iver a team 18 man macgyver's still kind of a it's kind of come it's like 2.0 or 3.0 or something like that it's just kind of an adjective on how to describe things too isn't it i think i think they did a remake on it it's come back to reverb just macgyver it yeah you know well yeah yeah for sure woods or something that guy could make a lot of stuff right i mean he impressive two by two formation here for the dogs we're going in back corner back to pass oh actually you know cass said it runs a nice route there but uh hammers throws a little bit left of the pylon he's got to throw that ball and it has to hit the pylon that's the only way cassette is going to get that one and it can't get picked there so that's a little bit left to where he wanted to be we could get a field goal out of this i think carter likes this angle a little bit better fourth and four here for bulldogs carter ward on the kick 28 yarder oh caused him to no surprise with the old toe into it he had to rush it a little bit there or get it blocked nice kick kick's good 34-0 1107 remains here in the ball game what does it mean to believe in something to truly support and get behind it to be committed and invested in making sure it succeeds and grows at first financial bank we go beyond banking providing resources for dreams that matter and giving back to projects that make a difference as our family grows our commitment to serve the community grows with it first financial bank because together we're better carter ward set to kick it away here from 40-yard line dogs lead 34-0 11 minutes remain up next for bulldogs bloomington south bloomington south four and one so far they're at southport tonight i did not have an update on that score but this ball is going to be feeling actually what to do at this point actually going north on a pretty good return you know you see the you know it's a big difference right no they're saying fumble i don't know about that it looks like 33.
you know it's the difference between the touch back and and a return right um 13 yards is a is actually a big deal for terre haute you know you're not starting on your 20 you're starting on your 33 that that that actually matters tonight in this game because they have not other than maybe one drive where they got it down to maybe the 40 or 35 they have not had much success getting it into columbus north territory yeah that recent drive to where scruggs picked it off near the goal line that was like 25 or something right now trips to the right russell's going to keep it this time you got room still on his feet across the 45-yard line for a first down 64. that guy's 64. james mcdonald out there really nice block [Music] get a little help at home coach with our 80s uh tv shows that's a that's a slow pitch for the guys you and i hang out with yeah last recommend recommended show was uh airwolf oh it was not i wasn't i mean i watched it a little and to reach good roll good spin number number eight makes a nice run there russell out there uh really good run escapes a tackle gets the first down nice nice run yeah i i wasn't a big airwolf guy now likewise i think we could go back to 18 for a minute what's your favorite character oh i i mean probably probably ba was it b.a baracus b.a barakas right mr t mr t mr t was i wonder if they actually knocked him out though every time they put him on a flight i mean seems kind of like he'd get i mean he's here to fly he'd be on it right at some point you can't get knocked out a hundred times to fly and not be and not be down on it is that the myth out there that yeah mr t couldn't fly that was i remember they just knock him out in real life in the show or in real life hey in the show no i don't remember that you don't remember they knocked him out i don't i just remember him beating up dudes you don't actually know that much about the a-team then that's really disappointing it's fine that's fine no i don't recall that that portion of it i although i if you say it happen you're right it it happened this is uh russell oh oh yeah we talked about this earlier but right russell has more piggies than passing yards and we're starting to see why here yeah he's a great runner you know he's savion put it on him right there though savion in there in the middle and came up and put a hat on him face face was uh everybody likes ba but i thought face was a pretty good character really you don't agree i mean face is definitely not the number two guy i mean if ba's number one i mean hannibal oh great great throw i mean i thought that was outstanding pass number eight rolls out picks up number 11 just sitting down the coverage there pretty good route too it's a big completion to stillwell down to the 16-yard line for north nice play really nice play this drive is not against north south talking about the defensive guys getting held this drive is not against the columbus north subs those are starters in there for the dogs there's starters for sure jet motion to trips russell's going to keep it with a pulling guard he's going to get wrapped up and he gets swallowed up quickly matthew pearson in on that tackle as a host of others yeah that play just took a little bit too long to develop coach i think uh they're dancing around back there with it so that defensive line is going to come after you they've been pulling guards enough that our bulldogs know that that guard leaves and yeah you follow him is going to take it right to the play yeah yeah russell on the fake this time and that's going to be a touchdown across the middle number 11 good catch nice play jason catrell he's a 510 senior for the patriots good completion and and good strike there foreign scoreboards 34 to 6.
yeah if you if you're standing on the sideline of terre haute north right now you're scratching your head like where's that day yeah that that uh you would have liked to seen that one in the first in the first quarter a little too late kick is up and good he got that one makes it 34-7 7 38 to go here in the fourth quarter bulldogs lead [Music] you [Music] group first financial bank columbus wealth joe lee rentals and jewelry development overhead door for south central indiana and the african-american fund of bartholomew county cf north ready for non-side kick yeah they're they're setting up for it [Music] and he will on side kick that ball and that's recovered by terre haute north well they just watched it coach um kick a little pooch kick there goes about 12 yards and they just watched it columbus north they were actually lined up five yards too deep and they just bailed as soon as that ball was kicked and there were no blue jerseys anywhere near that ball you think they it looked like they thought it went deep [Music] interesting interesting indeed gonna get some uh i think tonight between the penalties that last drive and that onside kick they might still get some feedback about this game well it seems like the boys are giving coaches opportunity to talk about a few things tomorrow for sure russell on the carry for a gain of six for the patriots that tough kid he's actually quite a fun player to watch [Music] seven minutes on the clock clock runs 347 dogs lead ball on the call 39 yard line left hash russell will run again this time he goes nowhere 86 brian lopez for the dogs 6-1-215 senior with a stop oh it's uh third and uh call it four cop yeah third and five 6 35 on the clock nowhere to go that's just right there i mean that's not it doesn't go in the books as a sack but that's just coverage right there coach there was nothing down field and um he just ran out of real estate so i think it goes down as maybe a half a yard gain but really good coverage patriots offense stays on the field here fourth down five to go balls on the 38 irvine in the right hash maybe see if they're trying to get them offsides here trips to the left russell back to pass a flag in the 21 yard line that might be on the dogs well it's in the vicinity of the dogs i mean it looks like bounds though there's a uncatchable ball there but uh maybe a hold on the route i don't know let's see holding against columbus north yeah yeah i think i think the the ball is definitely uncatchable there but he's holding him eight nine yards downfield a little bit and that's what's it's uh it's an uncatchable ball but you can't hold him nine yards downfield talked earlier about sometimes there's a scoreboard yeah scoreboard flag once in a while if it's questions that is the uh let us help you flag so that'll be first and ten 543 remains balls on the 28 yard line right hash trips to the left for the patriots russell and the gun back to pass looking for a screen this time we're all set up good tackle about an eight nine yard game good tackle conor lux we haven't seen the screen i don't think that was that's for a screen they've ran they tried to run one early on that didn't get completed other than that that's it i thought they were in a bubble but uh yeah that's a good play no huddle trips to the right second and two to go ball in the 20-yard line five minutes remain in the game russell runs this one looking for room stacked up down should have a first down yeah gets two they needed to and the officials are going to take a timeout here take a look at them they're gonna measure yeah really i don't it looks like they're going to they are going to measure they just i can't believe they're measuring that one coach that was a dying problem well you kind of give you give it the old two guy look i think and uh 34 7 game you usually just give that first down i think i would completely agree i i'm not sure the last time i saw chains come on the field measure but i'm glad it still exists i guess oh there we go they got it and it's first down you remember when coaches could call for a measurement pretty much anywhere yeah and the ball would be a yard and a half short they'd gone if the coach called for measurement him get a quick timeout and the and the official arms wouldn't get wide enough to show how far off they were from it being a first down i remember that two by two formation that deep orbit motion bobble snap on this oh man and that's incomplete jamal king on the coverage let them know about it he did he did give a subtle reminder of who mr king is after that play yeah he he is a really good safety we love talking about him i haven't talked about him too much tonight he's been involved in quite a few plays but uh that was a that was a good play and knocks the ball away and then a little encouragement afterwards he's he's always somewhere nearby he is oh here we go we're getting a chance to see him again give us to the back there he is again yep jamal on the stop at about the 12-yard line whistling dead for progress they're going to give me 11.
clock at 420 and rolling nice tackle starters remain on the field both sides probably a bit of a effort there to get legs back in you think coach after last week's week off yeah well that and i think you can't end that you don't want to end a game like this playing sloppy so i think uh unfortunately for the guys that we're trying to get in you know a couple of sloppy plays and oh russell on the run russell barreled himself into it for a touchdown he runs over a bulldog there on his way in and goodness tough kid wow he just lowered the shoulder and said i'm scoring yeah yeah he ran right through holt yeah holt rides him in actually he'll hold tried to tackle him and just wrote him into the end zone solid play there really good play i mean you you watch the last two series for these guys and you boy you really wish they would have had a couple more series like this would have been a great game absolutely kick is up and good and 34-14 to score 350 remains [Music] it [Music] so back here at max anders field 34-14 on the scoreboard 354 remains terre haute north setting up for another kickoff my assumption is the same type of effort coach your thoughts the dog is a little more ready this time they seem a little more i mean they give i do think you know they they're going to onside kick it again because they have no reason not to uh but if you give columbus a short field right here i think on principle they're going to go down and score again taken by holt at 30 trying to get outside and just gets a couple pretty good kick yeah looks like there we go subs on the field now for the dogs some of them yeah i'll take that back the only sub that i see out there is zach horn zack horn number 18 the 62 180 sophomore quarterback we saw him early this season also [Music] bought a gain of eight yeah clock runs hard running use all the play clock here as much as i can knight rider great show i watched a lot of knight rider great show i don't know what else i mean i make it sound like i watch tv like a junkie but i didn't but certainly these are shows that you had to watch i mean i watched a lot of knight rider yeah i didn't miss knight rider how about the lone ranger you're a little lone ranger kid yeah no i got another one we haven't even mentioned i'm sad that we haven't mentioned it yet he's breaking free across the 45 down all the way he's gonna score untouched for another dogs touchdown [Music] great run 51 yards scamper from dylan for a dog score that's just a tired a tired uh terre haute team i mean great run by redmond uh terre haute just tired out you know they played good football all night and it just gave a big play it's unfortunate for them but uh great run by redmond great up front blocking by the line big hole quite a ward on to kick the p-a-t up and good no surprise score extends to 41-14 2-54 remains in the contest if you grew up in columbus you grew up with ovation audio video the ovation technology group is much more the local leader in local it solutions 25 years of keeping companies connected and running efficiently networks and managed services phone systems and temperature control data security and hd thermal imaging grow smart with ovation technology group at ovationtg.com ovationtg.com a proud sponsor of columbus high school sports hmm back here at max anders field 254 remains on the clock 41-14 reads the scoreboard in favor of the dogs carter ward's set to kick it off and he will not kick it in the end zone this time received at about the three little bumping down there probably some frustration it's been a long game and a long night yeah i will tell you i'm glad i live one mile away and these poor terre haute kids will be home well after midnight tonight yeah they got a long ride home always easier to ride the bus when uh when you win and uh that will not be the case tonight for the uh what's probably about two hour ride isn't it it is a solid two hours by car yeah a little longer by bus two personal fouls here they will offset a little bit of two-way conversation there everybody's everybody's getting revved up here so competitive next week the dogs play bloomington south and that should uh make some determination on what the conference may shape down to be bloomington south 4-1 as we mentioned they're 3-0 in the conference so far dogs just want to know this assuming they win this one which they should it'll be 2-0 in the conference so an important one next week it's on the road at bloomington south yeah that's good play [Music] let's string it out there run out of bounds bryce nice play bryce he had a tackle earlier on the kickoff i think or punt one or the other bryce a five election 170 junior for the dogs talked about him a little bit earlier tonight brings up a third and 10.
a mix of starters and subs out there for the dogs still starters for the patriots russell's going to roll to his left again looking to throw no good coverage and there's another flag portion has good coverage it's a long ways away but uh the flag flies there again you look at scoreboard that flag might have been help a helpful flag um i thought it looked like good coverage coach hey they gotta be they gotta be ready to go home as well at some point don't they the officials extend the game a little bit defensive pass interference is the call as predicted so that'll bring up first down for terre haute north our viewership is dropping off here john i don't know if it's because the scoreboard or because of our our content that we discussed with knight rider and i don't think it's the content and oh big hit big hit a whole bunch of blue jerseys on that one so you left me hanging a minute ago you you were dangling the i can't believe you haven't talked about this show and then it's really it was really a show for the time too i mean it was i mean gilligan's island we talk i mean it's a big one i never i never they were stranded they get no mention so it's just a weird show it didn't make any sense it didn't make any sense but it was still a good show that everybody watched everybody did watch that most everybody russell's he got onto his right he's got oh he dropped it oh such a good round of money such a good route number 18 runs a great route and then just drops it he is targeting number eight throws a great ball there he is targeting cottrell often and that is unfortunate for terror north but that wall was just flat on the money yeah it was a beautiful ball it brings over he's got a good arm he sure does he's a good athlete third and 12 here for the patriots a three down lineman this time for the dogs not to pass again he's got a reception here across the middle to that same sophomore he slips free still on his feet run out of bounds 23 with the run after the catch about 30 yard run after the catch biggest play of the night for terre haute biggest play of the night significant game there matthew haeger on the snap for the dogs big 511 185 junior out of bounds with a stoppable clock the clock will stop 108 remains on the game clock trips to the left here for terre haute north russell's still the quarterback rolling to his left and he's yeah i'll tell you completely down to the two yards it's not even relevant at this stage but but russell's the first quarterback we've seen that can throw to both sides of the field successfully i mean the hammonds kid is great but we we watched other a lot of other quarterbacks that have struggled to throw the ball on both sides of the field one of the things he does really really well when he rolls out he gets deep and then he when he's throwing to his left he comes back up the field and he's throwing towards the receiver instead of throwing kind of running away from the receiver he does a nice job yep yeah i agree mechanically he does things right he gets deep and he and he throws the ball up the field gaining ground as he throws instead of trying to throw across his body and you're right we we've the gibson southern kid was on this field a few weeks ago who's committed to purdue and then the roncalli kid was had a fantastic arm but i agree this russell kid is able to roll left or right and neither is a challenge for him yeah he's a good athlete that pat makes it 41-21 56 seconds remains here in the fourth quarter [Music] [Applause] [Music] max anders field special thanks again to ruoff mortgage elevation technology columbus wealth jolie rentals african-american fund of bartholomew county and overhead door of south central indiana for their sponsorship today let's see if we get another on-site attempt from the patriots terre haute north does have two timeouts see if they choose to use any assuming that north retains the ball here same pooch kick over to this time to cast at her at the 25 looking for ground is going to go nowhere rolled up with about the 26.
i think we're going to see the uh couple of knees here a couple of kneel downs and victory formation and game will be over [Music] zach horn back on the field for the dogs under center and they are in victory formation here he's in a shotgun formation he will take a knee and looks like patriots will not use those timeouts we're going to let this one in right here at 41-21 they'll need to snap it one more time and that's gonna do it pretty good game for columbus um not perfect they're gonna get some feedback uh we have yet to see them play a perfect football game uh so pretty good job moving the ball here at the second half of the game and clean up some penalties yep ready for a big conference indiana showdown next week thanks coach that'll do it here max andrus 4121 dogs win we'll see you back here in two weeks have a great night thanks for joining you
it's okay josh are you okay with force okay good evening welcome to the regular meeting of the bartholomew consolidated school corporation school board on this evening monday september 28 2020 we're here at the admin building for those of you who are joining us possibly online thank you for joining us as well we begin every session with reflections shared by one of our school board members tonight mr james persinger we'll be sharing james thank you mr caldwell it's been quite a year so far i think we can all agree to that uh it's been nothing short of an emotional and mental rollercoaster for the vast majority of us between coronavirus resulting economic and unemployment downturn the civil unrest response to you know the systemic racism that's rooted in the culture of policing at all levels throughout the country it's really been hard to find and focus on something positive really hard but if we shift our view from the macro to the more local micro level i can see several positives among our community and more specifically our bcsc community given all the challenges that have been thrown our way over the last several months i can honestly say that the determination and tenacity that our teachers and administration has shown gives me real hope for the future it's not any secret that i've had my own personal reservations and objections about the safety of opening school on time at the beginning of the school year i've expressed my concerns on multiple occasions and in multiple discussions with everybody it hasn't been perfect and there are still several ways and areas that we can improve but looking at where we are in comparison to where we started i have overwhelming positive feelings as we move forward into the future i hope we continue to keep a sharp focus on our corporation's mission and vision statements and most importantly keep at the forefront of all of our decisions the health and safety of our vote most valued stakeholders our students and teachers thank you thanks james an encouraging word is always appreciated and needed thank you and usually surprising for me [Laughter] you can be a protagonist that's right an antagonist that's good if you're able would you join me and stand as we uh have the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands like a nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all five of our board members are in attendance this evening so that does constitute a quorum so i'll call this meeting to order i would note that our mission bcsc mission vision and high expectation objectives are listed on the placards behind us and we'll continue to use those as we uh enter into the decision making processes we have tonight with that i will promptly gavel out and we will have a public hearing that mr phillips will take us through on both the 2021 budget and the 2020 additional appropriation [Music] good evening so we will go through the looks like the budget one first this will be a abbreviated version of a similar powerpoint that you all saw uh two weeks ago but this is the opportunity for the public to interact and ask questions or make public comment just note that this public notice was posted on september 9th at least 10 days prior to the hearing to inform the public of this of this hearing and you can see if you can see how small it is down there the total amount of the budget that we're advertising is 126 million 383 411 dollars which matches the same number on the slide there what you will notice is that there is a difference in this slide and the slide that a similar slide that you saw last week inadvertently this included the money that was transferred from operations to education in both budgets both the education budget and the operations budget that has since been removed and corrected and as you can see the amount that was that was publicized and advertised on the gateway public access website matches now what this what this states and so the overall budget is is up just under eight percent when you include the operating referendum budget of just under seven and a half million dollars these education fund revenue assumptions have just been updated based on the questions that you all had two weeks ago and hopefully it's more clear the funding sources the september estimate for adm actually the numbers that we have this morning this is actually a cabinet report that's later on but it's certainly relevant in this slide so i'll just share it at this time we actually expect to be up about 30 students as opposed to down students this year so based on the count that we had last week that process as you know takes about three weeks to resolve conflicts with other school corporations when we both claim the same student id number but at this point in time we don't expect it to move a great deal and so we're pleased that that number will be will be up our the number of students that we have that are uh cvp students or virtual students enrolled now on adm that were also virtual students last year is actually 40.
six o'clock like to call the meeting order with the pledge of allegiance please [Music] i pledge allegiance okay all right well thank you for coming and welcome to the regular meeting of the green castle school board september meeting that is um first item on the agenda is adjustments to the agenda mr gibney yes i don't i don't have any adjustments per se to the agenda at this time but i'd like to ask if it would be okay when we get to uh personnel report part two if we just post that list on our door central office and on the website there's roughly 150 uh names names and positions to to read through yeah is that something you just plan on doing every month instead of reading through them or yeah i'd like to uh i think it would be uh help us be more transparent if we posted personnel report part one and part two ahead of the board meeting that way the public can can see the positions and and seeing what is being voted on for approval i think that's a good idea that works it works for me okay no real adjustments to the agenda so next on the agenda is recognitions mr gibney yep so at this time if we could start with the high school but we're starting something excuse me next on these end is public comments regarding agenda items do we have any public comments regarding the agenda items tonight okay hearing none now next is recognitions yep my apologies so we want to we want to do a better job of sharing the good things and and celebrating the accomplishments of students and staff so this is the first month we'll be honoring a student of the month from each of our each of our buildings um so shortly here we'll begin with we'll begin with the high school and work our way down but i do want to to say to our families in attendance after we recognize all students of the month there'll be an opportunity for pictures in the lobby of mcinally and then by all means you're well more than welcome to stay but i also know that with some of the little ones uh in attendance and it being a school night certainly you're welcome to leave as well i don't feel like you're obligated to stay but you're more than welcome if you would like so at this time if we could begin with mr rogers in the high school good evening everybody um our student to be honor and is maddie burge and mr hudson was the one that nominated her mr hudson says he's had the pleasure of having maddie in his alternative program for the last three years uh he says the previous two years weren't the best um attendance focus and sometimes even progress we're not always not always great but fast forward to this year and he's seen a totally different child her attendance is stellar her attitude is great she comes in smiling every day work ethic and focus is off the chart and the result is that she's completed already five courses so she's already achieved five credits in the first 27 days of the 2021 2020 2021 academic year she's improved so much she works a full-time job and the transition has been amazing and a joy to behold and he congratulates maddie on this award and it's very deserving and i really think that this is an example of students progress and students careers are like a work of art don't judge them until they're done and she's on track to actually graduate early so congratulations maddie and we'll go out and get a picture okay all right great job yeah congratulations good evening for green castle middle school we would like to recognize for the august student of the month andy abel he is nominated by mrs howard and he is a hard worker and always has a smile on his face parenthesis under the mask he gets along with everyone and includes everyone on a daily basis andy is helpful to others who are in need and is a great team player i don't believe i see andy in the audience so i'll make sure that we deliver his plaque to him tomorrow at school good evening so tz's student of the month uh is mr corbin hayden corbin is a fourth grader in mrs jennifer mann's classroom and mrs mann said about corbin when she come on over here corbin when she nominated him she said that corbin is nominated because he is an extraordinary student and very proactive in his learning he understands that he sometimes has trouble paying attention i don't have my mask on so come stand right here um that he he sometimes has trouble paying attention but he is very aware of that and he will ask to have directions repeated and ask for help when he needs it he always does his best work in class and many times has one of the highest scores he is kind to everyone in the class and is always helping out he doesn't concern himself with being the first one done on an assignment but instead he worries about the quality of the work that he turns in so corbin is representing tz all right um we always do things just a little different primary world for redpath we have miss deborah tomlinson deborah was nominated by her classroom teacher mrs abraham and she says that deborah is an excellent role model for all students she can always count on her to follow directions follow classroom rules complete assignments on time and always do what is right she is a sweet girl and always sees her treating her peers and adults with respect including her manners when speaking with others she always participates in class asks questions if she doesn't know something and she's the type of girl to overcome any obstacle that comes in her way even though she is so young and has not had some of the advantages of other students i admire how hard she works to be a successful student and she is so proud of her and so am i congratulations it's my pleasure to introduce to you gabriel johnson gabriel is a second grader in mrs allen miss timberman's class miss timmerman writes gabriel should be nominated because every time i look at him he is always doing the right thing he's a fantastic listener he's a great friend to everyone in his class if one of his classmates are in need gabriel is the first one there to help so we're proud that gabriel hears and listens to the right things and is such a good friend and we're proud that he is our student of the month [Music] [Laughter] okay congratulations to uh all of our students of the month uh well earned and and well deserved so congratulations to all of you uh do we have any other uh items to share under there excuse me any other items to share under recognitions okay thank you so much thank you very much here first yeah don't run off it's good it's gonna get exciting okay next item on the agenda is the approval of the consent agenda mr gibboni yep so first first two items we have meeting minutes from august 13 2020 special school board meeting meeting minutes from august 24 2020 regular school board meeting and now with the allowance of claims and financial report mrs romer could you address those items for us please i'm not going to be nearly as much fun as the kids probably not [Laughter] they were awesome the reason why we're all here doing what we're doing okay this month in your packet you'll see that we had um two regular payrolls and then we had one mini payroll again this month the first payroll was excuse me august 14th 2020 with a total payroll of 377 854.79 along with that payroll came the accounts payable for fica taxes and retirement etc the total for that payroll was three 111 four o three the mini payroll was held on august seventeenth for one employee total payroll of two hundred and fifty dollars along with that payroll came the accounts payable for payroll taxes and perf their retirement for a whole total accounts payable of 105.66 the second full payroll in august was on august 28th for a total payroll of four hundred and twenty thousand nine seventeen sixty four along with that payroll came the accounts payable for fica taxes retirement and you'll see a couple of additionals this is the time of year where we've got some new teachers or transfer teachers that are still electing um their retirement packages so we have to make some adjustments the same thing happened last year with new um options for our new teachers so you'll see the total accounts payable um 121 thousand 71.93 did anyone have any questions about the payrolls for august next in your packet you should see a list of prepays again there's nothing unusual this month and of course you know you the ma the biggest payment for prepays was for the insurance trust as it usually is total accounts payable for pre-pays 372 000 770 14.
