so they understand that whether they ultimately have the funds to implement holding people harmless sort of remains to be seen the the the FY 20 budget discussion which is important because that's money coming to the town this year so the ongoing discussion essentially holds Dartmouth from a school perspective and generally from a town perspective harmless for the impact of covet 19. so that's a good sign there's no decrease in Chapter 70 funding although enrollment is down uh so I think they understand that again in the end it's all going to come down to do they have the money to fund what they would hope to fund and I think in 22 that's when that begins to be a more challenging more challenging scenario for them than it is in 21. thank you Mr Kylie yeah I will just out of curiosity do we know from our October 1 report our the amount of students that were either transferred out homeschooled or to a private school do we have any idea and where we're at with that is it significant private ones yet because that comes out January 1 but we are about 30 below on our kindergarten and we have 70 additional homeschool kids 30 below in kinderg normally we're about 3 40 and we're at a I mean excuse me two and we're at about 210.

19. so six years later not far off uh where i grew up this is called a bubbler this is one of the original drinking fountains that is still in the building and kind of just gives you an indication as to some of the plumbing and fixture issues that we're still experiencing even now within that building you can see here the roof is is failing and and we've patched and mike's moleski's crew has done a nice job trying to stay ahead of it but as you can see from the picture there's still some some serious issues that we experience there leaks i will tell you that the infrastructure continues to be a major concern our maintenance guys do a great job of replacing as quickly as they can but you know one of the things about leaks is if you don't fix the leak and the source of the leak you're going to continue to have ceiling tiles like this that need to be replaced and we continue to deal with the infrastructure within the building that causes leaks even from the second floor to the first floor so a few years ago we had major sewer repair if you can tell that's a hallway those are lockers on either side of that trench that's been dug there to replace sewer lines and you would think well if we did that major renovation surely this is good to go it's still not good to go i mean it simply put us to a point where we could get limp by for a little bit longer sewer pair continues to be an issue throughout the building and then there the other major concern we have is with accessibility um you know one of the concerns is well yeah this is functional but at the same time if you're a student who has the need for accessibility to take the time to fold it down to get there again we want to make that as a fluid as a as a process as we can for all of our students converted store rooms in the student space you can see back there's a a rack uh for internet and computers i brian's back there shaking his head and at one time that was in the store room you can see by the double doors over there where we've had to convert that now so that we can utilize that space here's another example where we're meeting the needs of our kids and giving them those opportunities and we're using every place possible you know wrestling here in crown point is a big deal this used to be the wrestling room as you would be able to attest by the padded walls we've had to take the wrestling mats out and put in carpet again so that we can service the number of kids who are there and i'll tell you i want to pause right here and just say kudos to our staff our staff at taft does an amazing job our principals our administrative team there utilizing every nook and cranny possible to provide the services for our kids so now if you'll notice uh that's mr moleski right there walking across there nice nice action shot mike over there by those windows though rolled up is the wrestling mat and this is one of our major thoroughfares going from one hallway to another hallway to the gym to the cafeteria that's also now our wrestling room so once the kids are out of the building from the school day the wrestlers and coaches have to roll those mats out what you'll notice there is that there are no padding on the walls which is always just an added benefit in case somebody gets thrown off the mat in the back you can see our athletic fields are inadequate part of it is if you notice where those bleachers are that's pretty much coming out right there at field level so those would be pretty tough to see anything that's taking place on the field but the other part of that is with the neighborhood that this field is located in having evening events is just something that we don't do at this time with the track is also deteriorating and beyond its life expectancy and needs renovation and work there as well here's our gymnasium and stage you know a few things that we want to point out to you here is that when this was built this gym was probably a nice size at that time that year the challenge is now with 1100 students in that building this isn't big enough to have school-wide convocations it's not big enough to put on major productions the wood floor is to the point now where it's going to need to be replaced it's probably been sanded who knows how many times but it's to that point where we need to continue to look at better facilities for our kids years ago we had a nice portable wall that came out and really separated that into two buildings or two different gymnasiums for our pe classes we have this curtain now that is effective but sound goes right through you can also see and it might be a little bit hard from where we're at looking at this but the structural is just it's not where it needs to be as far as what we're looking at for our gymnasium our choir room our fine arts rooms you can see here in the next couple of slides while our teachers and i can tell you having been in those rooms and talked with them they do an amazing job with our kids you can tell these are laid out right now in covent times to try and utilize as much space as possible just are simply not adequate for the number of kids that we have involved in these programs and i'm telling you our teachers do an amazing job and the quality that they get out of our kids and their performances is amazing um with these cramped facilities this is an interesting one and i can tell you this is pre-covet a picture that was taken off of our security cameras and the thing that kind of tipped my hat to this if you'll notice that manning jersey from the broncos so it takes us back a couple of years but this is a real typical scenario um first thing i noticed when i walked into taft was my goodness i just felt tight the walls are tight the ceilings are low when you compare it to other buildings and what we have available there someone mentioned if if you dropped your pencil in that map and that during that passing period and tried to bend down to pick it up it'd be really hard not to get run over it's just it's too crowded that's the bottom line especially when you put in 6th 7th and 8th graders after gym class crown point high school you know one of the things that amazes me the first time i saw crown point high school is what an amazing looking building it's beautiful they've done a great job keeping it up it's 20 years old and with 20 years old come with 20 years of providing services for our kids comes things that we need to replace the original roof is there to do the replace the roof that we need to do which is at the end of its life expectancy is right around 8 million so big buildings come big price tags with upkeep that we need to keep in mind you can also see here the exterior flashing and we call this what is it katie ethan it has to do with the flashing right up there where the brick comes to the stucco the other material that's there that needs to be replaced again looking at the capacity of our students in the cafeteria what does that look like the challenge right now with covid taking place with already crowded cafeterias we're utilizing our gym as well and trying to spread kids out as much as possible so you can imagine in a regular setting having all those kids in the lunchroom again it's just a challenge that we're facing right now so here you can actually see some of our kids walking through there um and this is they have their mask on as you can see how tight that hallway is right now i want you to remember that while this was while we were in green so we had our kids in the building only 75 percent of our high school students were taking advantage of in-person learning so this is only three-fourths of our kids and the hallways look this crowded so we've got to address some of those issues you can see here the building structure so the plate right there is actually where we have expanded the high school from the original building and there's a plate that's in there to give some of that movement of our building but you can see from the way the wood was bowed out there from some of the cracks you're seeing here from settling and again that's not unexpected but it's 20 years old same thing in this this picture here as you look at the floor how the it's kind of pulling away from there from settling again this doesn't mean that the structural integrity of the building isn't there it's just we've got to take care of some things before it gets to a point where it is an issue a major issue our hvac system you know the challenge when it comes to buildings that size is you could put millions of dollars into them maybe up in the ceilings with hvac and wiring and you wouldn't notice that some of them are still working good really good here you got a 50 50 chance we've got one that's working great the other one as you can see here with the aging hvac system is with the soot that's on the floor there and that's just an indication of that it's not as efficient as it needs to be you can also see here as as we took apart part of the hvac you can build up there from moisture and you can see what moisture does over 20 years and obviously that's not going to operate as as efficiently as it should one of the things as we look at this over the 20-year lifespan one of the things that has changed and that we've got to continue to do is address curriculum needs this is our current weight room this was not ever designed to be a weight room but we have made it a weight room and our staff does an amazing job getting everything we can out of the weight room one of the challenges here that you'll notice is mark lifts up this this padding there's a floor there is that it's crumbling underneath there from the weights that have been used over and over and over and these classes i'm telling you they've got anywhere from 70 to 100 kids in this room on a hourly basis every period of the day and so we we need to keep up with it if you can see there that weight these are bumper plates and they're utilized for power cleans doing different things where you're dropping the weights we can see there that those cracks that happens because of how much that has been used not that it's been misused but just the use of it and actually we have a student at one of their jobs as a student assistant they keep track of the plates that are cracked like that and where they're at and at what point do they need to be taken out of the service so there's just a lot of different things that has to be taken place with them the other thing i think is really interesting so this is our fitness lab this room is literally about the size a third of this room and you can see how those different devices are placed in there um these are original to the building so again we have a person who comes in when they break down and services them and they they do an amazing job trying to put band-aids on them and keep them limping along and so we need to really come up with an opportunity for a great fitness lab as well looking at douglas macarthur elementary school and part of the renovation here that we're going to be looking at is how do we continue to meet the student capacity concerns that are going to take place you know one of the things that as we look at student capacity you don't have to be in crown point very long to know that we have subdivisions and housing developments going up all over our community which is a great thing to stay ahead of this though is one of the challenges that we face so you can see there though the crowding of the room you can see lockers there um that were designed when backpacks probably weren't a big deal and now they can't fit backpacks in those lockers so they try to squeeze their coats in and keep their backpacks in in the classrooms student restrooms again accessibility is really a big deal you'll notice how that wall sticks out there but yet notice the placard on the outside it says that it's wheelchair accessible i've never used a wheelchair but i'm guessing that getting a wheelchair through there is going to be a challenge at best again for our students who need the accessibility we want to make that as smooth of a transition as it possibly can plumbing continues to be an issue throughout this building and the sink right here at this time was out of order i can tell you that our maintenance people do an unbelievable job trying to keep up with it but that's just it they're just always in that keep up mode with what we need this is an adult restroom a staff restroom again accessibility is a concern the door swings in now doors should swing out again giving that accessibility to get in there for our staff members as well the plumbing systems if you go back and remember what we had with taft with that dirt channel that was dug out through the middle of the hallway same similarly that needs to happen in this building that wall right there the reason we're looking at that with that purple bulletin board and then the posters on the other side all of the plumbing fixtures are behind that to get to what we really need to update we're going to have to tear out that wall and get into there to really make the changes that are necessary there at macarthur again looking at our drinking fountains the additional plumbing systems that go along with that in the updates that need to be present there so one of the the issues with our drinking fountains at macarthur is we have a water filtration system and that's what this is because we're on a municipal well there that really is a challenge as far as making sure that our water is everything that it needs to be so we need to have a more effective and efficient filtration system as well providing water for our kids technology continues to be an issue at macarthur and throughout our elementary buildings you can see here again we've got things squeezed in there storage is a real concern those are ipads if you can tell they're on those little racks but also then right behind it we've got major electrical panels and we just the bottom line is that shouldn't look like that we need more space though and we're utilizing every bit of space we have to provide the services our kids need classroom technology you know i'll give it to our teachers especially during this time we're living in right now they are unbelievably creative when it comes to classroom technology if you'll notice the screen up there that's more of like a cloth sheet if you will that provides a place for them to be able to utilize their projector and put things up on the screen gymnasium the size is a concern again not being able to bring kids all together for convocations different programs but also if you look at where the bleachers are there that's at the ends um nice reverse layup takes you right into the uh to the bleachers todd i played a basketball on that one too and this is my shocked face i just wear it all the time um the floor there was it tile when you played there yes um you know the floor needs to be replaced you can see how the tile is beginning to buckle we really need to look at something that's more flooring is that the same one flooring in 2021 is a little bit or 2020 is a little bit better than that and as options storage again you can see here where we try to squeeze everything in as we can in every nook and cranny and just we don't have places to put what we need to store moving on to timothy ball challenges here are many of the same that we just saw at macarthur or student capacity looking at the cafeteria here you know one of the things that i'll mention as we're looking at student capacity you know we like to keep our buildings right about that 700 students kindergarten through fifth grade so our goal as we approach this whole facility study is to look at what do we need to do to get our buildings our elementary buildings close to that 700 number individual instruction um this is a hallway and i know that right now this is during coven and we're trying to keep small groups you know limited what we're doing but this is taking place in hallways and ideally we'd be able to have rooms for this to take place rather than in the halls you'll see here in this picture with this is a room that we're actually utilizing to provide services for our students but if you'll notice the placard on the outside that's storage so originally that was the storage room right now it's being utilized and revamped and utilized to provide services for our kids again the gymnasium here on the reverse layup you're running this time into a brick wall rather than the bleachers um just not adequate there bathrooms uh the plumbing again is a real challenge and simply not adequate for the number of students we have in the buildings lockers again exact same issue that we were facing at macarthur at least they are consistent student support services this is the main office again our infamous mr molaskey as he is there in the front office but a real challenge to have any kind of social distancing as you come in simply because of how cramped that is and you know one of the most important things is that first impression as you come into a building and when you're coming into this building and that's literally about four feet between where our secretaries are they greet people and the wall there playgrounds are a big concern throughout our corporation you'll notice the wood chips there you know we want to do some things differently here to address safety concerns for our kids but also the equipment that is being utilized on our playgrounds this is a great spinning slide especially after lunch mr g and fermi was giving us some vivid examples of that in cabinet this morning from his childhood so we've got some great pieces of equipment but some others that we need to reutilize and look at a little differently student drop off and pick up is a concern of ours just making sure we can efficiently get people in and out of the buildings especially as we look at the number the enrollment numbers being larger at our elementary buildings so the design team had objectives and these really can't come from skillman and gibraltar the function value efficiency 21st century schools and then the aesthetics and those are what we really utilize as we look at everything we're doing they bring us back to these points repeatedly so what we're going to talk through here is really just conceptual i want to make sure you guys understand that none of this is set in stone this is what's going to happen but these are concepts that we utilize that have been brought to us by skillman and gibraltar with their expertise in the field as they look at trends and what are needed as we look at taft middle school realistically today with what we need for a middle school to function appropriately as a 40 acre site we're looking at the new middle school having a capacity of 1400 students right now you know tafta's stat is has about an enrollment of 1100 what we want to do is to make sure that we're in a situation where we don't have to come back to this new building in the next 10 years and add on to it so we want to be prepared the total land area here is shown with 40 acres suggested as a minimum a separate car and bus circulation pattern similar to what we have at wheeler where they're on different sides of the building sufficient parking for staff visitors building aligned with the district of the district objectives for our middle learners robust technology again i think is just something that is absolutely essential as we prepare our kids for future learning opportunities the energy and cost efficiencies there we're looking at a savings of about 30 percent moving on then as we look at solutions at crown point high school so you'll notice here the the orange areas are new areas the purple are repurposed so what we're looking at on the orange side there with the classrooms is an addition of close to 20 classrooms first floor and second floor combined looking at cte utilizing those spaces differently and making sure that we're keeping up with the trends that are there having a robotic stem lab science labs looking at if you shift over there you can see that orange part right below the purple having an additional expanded cafeteria and then new lockers and commons we have a capacity right now of 2800 and we want to get that up to 3400 we're right there right now at that capacity mark and so we need to continue to do that again some of the concerns there is looking at the corridor circulation repurpose the construction lab into a cte program and then one of the opportunities we've got listed here is the child care center relocated that could provide some additional supports as we continue to look at our early childhood programs throughout our district and providing more opportunities for students to work out in our elementary buildings again looking at the additional weight room being developed there on the southwest corner of the high school and the current weight room then being turned into a fitness lab setting that really will just be first-rate and provide the curricular needs of our students solutions to crown point high schools to expand it like we said looking at those additions there and they've done a pretty nice job with the bus car bus circulation improvements but just continuing to evaluate those as we move forward here is looking at uh macarthur and again just reminding everybody these are just conceptual ideas nothing is set right now but one of the concerns we have there is looking at as i mentioned before getting our student capacity up to 700 students classroom upgrades additional classrooms making sure that we're providing kindergarten some of our youngest learners what they need as we continue to move through there on the end there you'll notice a new gym one of the challenges that we have in our elementary buildings and we love for our public to be our community to be able to utilize our facilities for events but right now that gym is in the back of the building and have to go all the way through the building this would give us an opportunity for to have a private a separate entrance for the gym where community members can get in and out without having to walk through the entire building then looking at the purple areas again is re utilizing some of the space the current gem then could add additional space to the cafeterias the kitchen the media center one of the things as we continue to move forward in this that i want you guys to keep in mind is it's one thing to just add building add classrooms at a gym the other thing that we've got to keep in mind is when you add students if we're not increasing the size of the media center if we're not increasing the size of cafeteria the kitchen to provide the food for the kids you can really make that congestion a whole lot more so it's really important that we continue to keep those areas in mind as we go through this same is true for our elective classes the administration offices making sure that we provide those services again one of the keys here is looking at our hvac systems and updating those getting them to where we need to be technology will be a major part of this and again just our circulation for our students arrival and dismissal as well solutions at timothy ball so as you can see here again if you look on the right side of the screen as we're looking at it there's a new bus loading area out there on the opposite end is the new car drop-off area but we're looking at an additional or a new gem here again with the idea that it has access to immediately to the outside for our community use the orange are new classrooms kindergarten classrooms and then on the left hand side of the screen that's actually a two-floor addition so you can see uh both at macarthur and at timothy ball we're looking at that being about 10 to 12 classrooms with additional space that is there providing opportunities for stem room that we can do again large group instruction technology is a major part of this the accessibility piece is something that we really want to focus on at macarthur i mean i apologize timothy ball as you guys know this is kind of a tri-level kind of going back to homes that you looked at when you're buying your home built about that same time when tri-level homes were really uh the thing so we've got an elevator right now that has our takes our kids up and down from the first to second floor a concern here is we want to put in a ramp that provides that accessibility for our students as well so that they don't have to always utilize an elevator to go from first to second floor yep on the on the bottom of this picture here in the the yellow orange section you are you expanding those existing classrooms yeah so similar to what we've done at winfield um and i think is a is a great idea that little bump that you see there in the orange uh miss rockman thanks for bringing that up will be additions of bathrooms providing facilities within kindergarten rooms to make them more appropriate for our students at that age so continuing looking at the technology upgrades again we mentioned the restrooms earlier this is one of the things that we really want to do and if you'll remember back to winfield when we put in the restrooms there with that concept of the actual restroom facilities are two separate rooms but then where the sinks are are all out in the open i'm looking at something more like that just to really help out with supervision of restrooms and updating those as needed so the other areas that we are concerned about as well again we really feel like we need to touch every building in our district with this review wheeler continue to expand student capacity we don't know what that's going to look like moving forward but we need to be able to do that and ready to do that classroom upgrades you know and as you look at it you think well wheeler and the high school there are new buildings and they're 20 years old 18 years old and so again they're great looking buildings but they just there's additional upgrades that need to take place compared to 1998 and 2000 when they were when they were open technology continues to be a major concern there the learning center could end up being reconfigure that for our early childhood development programs preschool as they go in there or it could be to relocate or rebuild that facility depending on what we need to do with wheeler as far as additional capacity there and again we're so early on in that study again this is just conceptual and what they could look like other elementary buildings then again continue looking at the renovation technology-ready classrooms make sure that our playgrounds are where they need to be with the appropriate ada upgrades again keeping in mind we're our goal is to get all of our elementary schools up to that 700 capacity number so that we can continue to provide that for our kids so at this time we get into the what i call the nerd talk part of the conversation and that's really looking at the tax impacts and the important part of this and i this time i'm going to ask katie if she would jump in here to really give us um take over the presentation at this time and give us this information yeah can you do the the nerd part for us she's really good at him that would be great i should have brought my candy just very difficult okay so my favorite part is all about the tax rates right so here what you have is for our area combined tax rates um for as you can see combined debt project referenda as you know we have an operating referendum not a project referendum lake central project referenda us no we're right in the middle um which in this case isn't bad by comparison of tax rate we're not the highest we're not the lowest we're right in the middle but as you all have heard us talk about through the last several years since i've been here and i know before me when matt was here is that we've talked about what we need to do how we've maintained it the fact that we don't receive enough capital money to support it which is why we've issued geo bonds every year paid them off in two-year cycles but that we've been quickly approaching this point where we need to invest more because of our growth and the growth that we continue to experience so that we can continue to serve the most important stakeholders we have which obviously are our students this is a finance nerd quick fact although i'll give the credit to mr klink who found it in center township the trustee when they built this built taft was for 25 cents increased to 75 cents per hundred dollars of taxable valuation and that was in 1954 for a seven classroom center township elementary so when you think of 75 cents which is what we are now we're not doing very too bad on the on the tax rate as far as maintaining it through time i think that's pretty good anyway i think mr clink is like one of those folks in athletics where they do the comparison like he's the first person to throw three touchdowns and sixteen interceptions and you know he's like sounds like a bear's quarterback i'm not embarrassed this is hot fast so this is what our existing debt service looks like you all have heard me talk about the debt cliff and that point where basically the high school debt is retired keep in mind we built the high school before tax caps before we knew that was coming right so this is that clip you can see um in 24 when we pay off the high school essentially and we have this availability within our debt service rate i think you also hear it during board retreats not just budget sessions you hear from me all the time you're so tired of hearing about it i'm sure so we have the difference between those as that debt folds up that is what we're talking about doing so we want to replace the debt that's falling off and that's how we intend to fund the improvements conceptually that we discussed i'm sorry i like the big gap between 75 cents and zero cents what steve's referring to is this also the plan that we've discussed still enables us to issue those recurrent general obligation bonds every year to address factors needs things that are in the the overall facility use plan you know replacement of roof systems building envelope we still have that ability so that's what you see in gray for future debt as steve was alluding to because we're not certainly talking about doing improvements at the expense of them doing nothing for a period of time then you can see what we're proposing in blue which essentially is what we talked about how that we fund this and we keep it tax you know tax rate neutral in terms of 75 cents and so that's where you can see the portion of the debt dedicated these projects would be at its peak about 59 cents let's see the no those are great graphics i'm not that creative i don't even know how to put transitions in that make noise like that so the talking about the assumed interest rates the 2.1 versus 5 percent um as we go through this process you you all will have documents that come to you that will set essentially a maximum interest rate for any project that we work on so the financing structure did a maximum at five percent but then we have an expect the interest rate to be significantly lower which is what that 2.10 percent is based on estimates given the existing financial environment so the difference for us one of the most important differences is the change that makes in repayment as you can see at 2.10 it's 13 years eight months at five percent is 18 years and eight months so not just in terms of repayment but also it's four times the interest as a result of that change so still keeps that tax rate 75 cents per of net assessed value also thinking normally when we do you see large projects for bonding they're usually repaying those over 20 years generally speaking so we're trying to stay ahead of that we're not taking the maximum amount of time because we understand as we grow we're still going to have needs dr terrell is there anything you wanted to add to any of the my dirt nerds i love the uh no impact with the graphics but i think i think one of the things that's really important is that we need to understand as we look at this with interest rates being what they are right now it's really advantageous for us as you saw that last one of the last slides there from 2.1 to 5 wow in years gone by five percent would have been considered a really good interest rate 2.1 is an unbelievable interest rate the other thing that we need to keep in mind is the supply the cost of materials as we continue to look at what we need to do across our corporation it just continues to go up so as we look at projects as we look at what we're planning through this study is really putting us in a place to address those needs especially in both taft and macarthur to really take what we have laid out as a 10-year 15-year need to be able to take care of that now and get that taken care of so then we can move on to the next buildings and issues that we need to address is really in put us in a great a great place as a corporation so with that gentlemen who are here with us this evening if there's anything you'd like to add board members if you have questions we'd be more than happy to entertain and try to provide answers for you and if we don't have those answers we will make sure we get those answers for you he's going to make one comment i've kind of put this growth in perspective and i know you you've talked about what it's increased over the last several years but when i first came on this board in the year 2000 we were school corporation of 5 300 students so they're now 8 800.

so we've allocated this in the budget and it's my recommendation that the board came before with allowing us to purchase these buses correct yep comes out of operations discussion of other questions if you're hearing none of them all opposed motion passes next item on the agenda is an approval request for the 2021-22 and 2022 and 23 school calendars yeah so we're a little bit behind obviously in this process i would have hoped that we would have been able to have these approved much sooner but we're doing we're doing the best we can i do want to move forward with the two-year excuse me approval of calendars for two years i think this will allow families and staff more time more time to plan and always kind of keep the calendars two years out for the most part these calendars use corresponding dates discuss these with the gcta the main highlights they both obviously end before memorial day we do now that we have e-learning days we did we chose not to build in any snow days as a result i want to make sure that we can celebrate martin luther king junior day president's day and then we will also continue to utilize the the friday before spring break as the day off so pretty consistent with the start and end dates i didn't want to touch or remove fall break spring break's in the same spot winter break is the same length and then not having to build in the snow days we had some days that we needed to take off and i feel like we chose chose wisely with the with those days so it would be my recommendation um that the board approved um the 21 21 22 and 22 23 school calendars if i just wanted to ask i know that things are a bit um unpredictable now so you think that anything that may happen through yeah i can't predict uh the uh you know obviously the unknown um but we do have to have a have a calendar approved so just like with this school year you know we had a calendar approved and desired in july and ultimately we had to make an adjustment and we did and so that's something that we could always do if need if needed but for the most part in setting these parameters i think i think we're safe but if we have to make an adjustment later on we can i'd like three years too because then i'd be done i can move on to another task okay last item under new business is an approved approval request for donations we have a donation from the putnam county community foundation to dear meadow in the amount of two thousand dollars yeah so definitely appreciative of the putnam county community foundation for making the donation and supporting our students and staff and so i asked the board to accept this donation opposed motion passes last item on the agenda is our business that actually yeah i think it's more than that i think we're i think we're between 50 and 70.

okay and we have a hundred and roughly 115 to 20 homeschool and we're usually around 44. oh wow I couldn't hear it I couldn't yeah we couldn't hear that over there could you Chris could you repeat no normally we have about 45 um homeschooled kids and we're at 45 115 right now right okay and normally we have roughly 240 kindergartners and we're at about 210. two what two ten two ten so it's about a 70 70 and 30. so about 105. not loss no wheel well net loss yeah yeah that's that's quite considerable so our hope is that they won't look at those numbers yeah I mean we're not alone no no of course not so uh I'm not really prepared to really I don't like to ask questions that I don't know what I'm asking but uh there was an email that came out within the last couple of days like the you know the commissioner's newsletters and this actually might have actually been from the federal government um and it said something like with the like Esser funding and things like that that states have used like very little and so like I think Massachusetts has Massachusetts Massachusetts spent like 12 percent of their s or funding um is that Massachusetts like holding on to it until districts apply for it and get it or is that like are they is that in essence potentially there holding you holding people harmless funds and so they're not giving out all of what they've gotten or can you speak a little bit to that sure so the cares Act is a is a fairly complex act um it includes multiple grants sources that um either could be good could go to school districts or to municipalities so the bulk of the money in Massachusetts was directed to municipalities oh [Music] um for whatever reason that's at the state administrative level um at really at the governor's level and a f there so they are administering the bulk of the funds um for for instance the town of Dartmouth received approximately three million dollars in eligible Grant monies at the municipal level at the Town level we received an Sr 300 000 from a school perspective now that was based on the title one formula which that isn't particularly help us compared to some other districts we also receive the coronavirus Relief Fund monies which are also cares act monies but distributed in a different in a different pool and we got 788 thousand dollars from that so the net of the two because Bishop Stang and Friends Academy are eligible for some funds about a million dollars that the schools have received we have spent uh will have spent all of it the town has been great to work with and very collaborative they recognize that I mean we're the biggest operation that you know in town obviously the most people serve the um the biggest share of the budget and um really the the highest level of need so they've helped support us with things like HVAC monies through this through their cares act funds as well as technology expenditures and Mr galashaw and I have been working on that and the hope is that you know we're we're stringing things along as best we can but we're we're really you know stretching um so they've been great with that but outside of our Monies I don't know that the town has had a lot of additional expenses they've received funds from the massive uh maybe not funds but they've received a lot of supplies from the mass Emergency Management agency um so the the town Emergency Management has worked with them and has done a great job getting lots of supplies that can also be used by US in emergency situations and back up um you know our stocks so they haven't had to buy that um so I I don't I think that is the way it is in a lot of communities so a lot of money is sitting at that Municipal level that is not going to be spent I don't think we're alone in Massachusetts you know in in the country but um it was distributed differently in different states so uh and there is a lot of money still to be distributed The Hope was originally that it would be able to be used for Revenue replacement that has not happened because the feds the legislature can't get their act together but um and that's not going to change and this money is expiring December 30th and there's no way they're going to get anything done before December 30th so whether or not the those monies come back again somehow I guess remains to be seen but it is possible but it's not going to be Revenue replacement which would have really saved the town um and all the other municipalities in the state so the the funds that are expiring at the end of the year they're the Esser funds there's some that there's some that can be carried over right and there's some that are expired can you just go so from a school perspective the coronavirus Relief Fund expires on December 30th that's the 788 thousand dollar okay Grant what we've what we've done is expended all of that on our Virtual Academy teachers our virtual learning Edgenuity techa um our um all the supplies that we've had to had to buy up front um really all of the expenses cleaning you know cleaning supplies and cleaning hours and all of those things so we will have spent it all by before December 30th and then we will have the Esser funds remaining now that's a smaller amount and it can but it can support some costs for the rest of the way for the rest of this year so with that correct me if I'm wrong but the techer in the Ingenuity platforms are so our semester subscriptions yep now you said that the money has to be expended by December 31st so have we taken into account those students that may continue remote because I believe the option was that come semester two we're gonna that's when we would look to allow students back to into hybrid so do we have funds right now um to to cover Ingenuity yeah you're right I mean so basically all we could do and and we did this with the Virtual Academy teachers as well is look at covering the first four months of the Year through the coronavirus Relief Fund it's unfortunate because it was our biggest pool of funds but on the other hand we also had a lot of initial expenditures I mean it's it's good that we have the money and um but yes so we'll we'll revert to other sources yes sir primarily for the remainder and that'll go quick because that's not a lot of there's not a lot of money do you have a smallpox figure of what techer and Ingenuity cost us yeah 40 well it's going to be adjusted Edge annuity is going to be less than 40 000 and uh teca is 90.

yeah so either one of you from skillman scott or dion you guys probably know the taft building probably better than your own houses based on projects you've been involved in over the last let's say 15 years 10 years your just quick assessment based on i know we've saw in pictures dr till explained um from a perspective of construction management would one of you just like to say that where we're at with that building sure thanks dion and i don't even put you on the spot but i know you guys know that building so well and be kind so based on the assessment that we've been working on taft alone without taking into consideration like upgrades to the athletic fields any type of upgrade just to address preventative maintenance type of items in that facility to bring it up to speed for say 10 to 15 years your in your investment construction only is 22 to 24 million if that gives you some perspective and that's just for preventative maintenance needs that's not addressing overcrowding of hallways that's not addressing any type of expansions that's just addressing the approximately 159 000 square feet of that facility so that kind of money for a building that's already 66 years old what was it 20 to 24 million correct good question old scottish younger than i am scott you're right you have something off i'm only under i'm on the under that one i would say what diane says but that's just some of the things and mike milaski would you know what our katie what what have we spent probably in the last 10 years on renovations there got to be over three four million dollars right yeah yeah i would say we were not investing a significant amount um five years before now five years like beyond five years because i think there was an active discussion at that time um in the last i mean we've made improvements like the security enhancements we added to the grounds in terms of concrete and asphalt i mean we've invested i think it's closer to five or six miles yeah well the sewer project alone i thought was close to two million or something yeah with the restrooms and some of the asphalt pavement in the back closet at 2 million and then you also take into consideration in 2008 2007 is somewhere near when we completed the wheeler project we also did cosmetic items it tapped as well uh just under five million but that was just cosmetic i mean that was flooring and wallpaper and since then mike if you want to add you can replace some of those one thing to take into consideration is the fact that we have done a lot of things to sort of aesthetically make taft a little more pleasing we have not in any way addressed the growing capacity in that building we have used every nook and cranny and we are literally out of nooks and crannies and mike maybe you can address uh when uh uh mr clink or katie referred to that future the future deck where we do our two million genera uh geo bonds and all that what isn't one of the major other than roofings things like that it's just keeping up with paving every year um well you've got the big four which is roofs boilers chillers and parking lots and that can with a district like ours we can hammer through a 2 million government bond like and i know high efficiency i think todd you said 30 30 and if you guys could see the nibs go bill for taft on a monthly basis in the winter i mean it would it's crazy so to have those kind of efficiencies available not take advantage of them something that uh like dr terrell said guys uh not to throw a curveball anybody at anybody put anybody on the spot but as we're talking about like changing education aren't you you guys are could tell us as well as anybody the buildings around the state that are keeping up with the times of the 21st century it's a different style of learning correct when we're talking about these gymnasiums and the need for spaces in technology that i mean without a doubt that's correct before we need some advancements right absolutely keep their eye on what the students need regardless and when i hear my pulaski talk and since everybody leads what are we doing to the students so i would say you're you're poised to really take advantage of what you could provide with new modern facilities and i've heard educators thought and sometimes it's like the splinters under the fingernails for the teachers trying to get to what they need that's right as i thought it was worth mentioning we're just you know we we talked a few years ago about how you know the the old-fashioned library and the dewey decimal system and whatever doesn't take place in there anymore you know they're they're they're it's a different style of learning and um the debate of aesthetics or uh the cosmetic look of a building can we can debate that forever but when you're renting capacity crowding and giving the children the opportunity to learn the way they're supposed to learn today compared to 30 40 50 years ago it seems like this as far as the overcrowding issue are we are we above 95 capacity for children in each building except maybe whitfield where we've expanded they've repurposed some spaces to make that logistically work um jerry ross is not at capacity there's mr jane fermi mr kevin myself walked all of the k5 buildings last christmas break uh when i shared with dr terrell this afternoon is there was no one of those buildings except for jerry ross which we know is a logistical issue because of the k235 structure that had more than two classroom spaces available so that would be the measure that i would use and then the buildings that have been renovated such as macarthur and timothy bald they don't have the advantage that an eisenhower has having gone for a full renovation of ancillary space small group instruction rooms that's why you see storage rooms being used you know and then because we're using them like large and small group construction and ancillary space yeah exactly the classrooms that we are calling available it's not like they're empty what was the most recent expansion what year was that 12 200 on the high school i'm sorry on the east wing you remember yeah and once again just for the public's knowledge that the building was built to add up correct so when it was designed originally is that the same case with what was at least brought up today about the possible that on the south side were those additional classrooms between the tennis courts it was the same way it was built for expansion concept to expand out towards the towards the tennis courts correct all right and to your point the original construction when we finished in 2003 the structure the roof structure actually was poured with concrete the structural steel columns were set to accommodate those feature expansions that were completed in 2008 okay thank you i think too at tablets remember we spent yeah how much have we spent on the bathrooms attack we redid those that was a couple of million was that well when you consider the actual the trenches for the cemetery and then the paving i think that's where i'm thinking five to six when i think about how much you know we've spent or invested in that facility and also the fact that it was two buildings originally that were blended and the functionality part of that the high school though if i remember mike uh mulanski telling me originally the next expansion was going to require us to relocate athletic fields this gibraltar identified as an area that was open space where we could do that two stories so we're not moving those things around which is helpful from a financial perspective as well and when it came to tap when we did the recent renovations attack we added parking in the back of the building because with growing student capacity we had staff capacity that increased we also put in a secure entrance in that building it was the only building that did not have a secured entrance and that's how we got to that 5 million plus mark as we went through there um you know and we like i said i think we really have done a great job of maximizing our space usage the wrestling room in the comments right now also serves as the choir practice when wrestling's not practicing so well and i think about you talking about like the media centers and what they were intended for you know we did construction in there to take space out of there to create three different ancillary spaces because it's not being utilized at the same level i mean when you say every nook and cranny i mean they've done it there effective tax rate i like to 2.10 obviously when or how do we know what the rate will be is it the timing issue if we were to move forward the timing of when the debt is issued so what will happen is um as we go through this process there will be a resolution that's approved that sets up maximum which will be five percent but we won't go anywhere over that the expected is just to show the difference because frankly when you see five percent over that time period you need a counterpoint to be more expected so you'll see a maximum we won't know until we receive the bid they're tabulated we'll report back that will tell us what effective our effective tax rate is if you will insure interest rate excuse me not tax rate so we'll know at the point that we open bids and we finalize the bombs one thing i'd like to point out for the board members i know you guys are aware of this and for our public as has been demonstrated tonight i mean we're throwing questions at dion going back to 2008-2000 and he knows like they take extra pride in what they're doing here dion's a member of our community but to have skillman have gibraltar who are as in touch with what we need here and how they work together to make this happen we're really fortunate as a corporation to be working with partners who as we just throw these things out there going back 10 15 years they're able to just come up with answers like that just demonstrates the interest the extra interest in my opinion they take for us their hands-on approach is unmatched i was informed of a slight issue back at winfield didn't even know about this occurred back as part of the project and was corrected and fixed within days and that just goes to show with their hands on uh daily basis of being on the project that we've had just outstanding commitment from them to make sure that all of our projects are done in a timely fashion and with taxpayers in our community involved making sure we stay within the dollar that was appropriated so greatly appreciated even with our gibraltar group as well making sure that we stay under those when those projects are set in stone that there's no surprises coming in yeah absolutely i was just going to make one final comment on the taft expenditures i'm trying to clarify my own mind but i believe in my first term we spent five million dollars on taft too on technology air conditioning and a few other things but it was it was about a five million dollar tab it was probably all in the ceilings and yes on the walls yep plus uh appreciate your your help and input and joining us this evening um we have anything else for you but they're not dismissed [Music] any final thoughts before we move on we good dr turner we are thank you it's a good presentation this evening appreciate it uh we have item 7.01 authorization to advertise the notice of public hearing dr terrell so per our discussion uh this evening the report that was just given to you and pursuant with the indiana codes that apply we are now asking for you to authorize december 7 2020 will be the date that the board will hold a public hearing to discuss and hear objection support regarding the proposal for the 2021 safety security capacity and improvement project consisting of construction of new tap expansion of crown point high school including site improvements expansion and modernization of douglas macarthur and timothy ball elementary schools renovation of and improvements to other school and community facilities in the school corporation and the purchase of real estate equipment and technology labeled as projects on december 14 2020 the board will hold a second public hearing to discuss the and hear objections and support regarding the proposed projects and we'll consider the adoption a resolution making a preliminary determination to enter into a lease agreement relating to the projects and issue the bond to finance the projects we invite our public to attend these public hearings and we will have additional information posted for that as well so tonight we come to you and i ask for you to approve the advertising of these public hearings as listed thank you dr recommendation to approve the advertised notice of public hearings we have a motion to approve so moved second uh move by mr hoffman that was mr maverick on the second correct second by mr baptic we have any final questions or comments for doctor too i want to make one other comment with regard to taft we've we've had a i think a rolling 10-year improvement plan we used to have big poster boards in the in the boardroom that showed what was going to happen when uh original projections were that we were going to build a new middle school replacing taft four years ago so we've we've postponed it at least that four years i think now is the time to get that job done gentlemen all good on the 7th and the 14th because i know tom mentioned he might be so you guys are just to make sure we got a quorum okay good any other comments all those favors signified by saying guy hi opposed most carries five zero thank you thank you everybody for your input this evening and we can move to uh information items we have 8.01 superintendent discussion groups about uh mr smith or hoffman anything from the different communities the crown point rdc has been continuing to move forward we should have a new occupant out at the uh north street uh fields out there in the building that the city had we sold another lot and there's going to be another building being built there but the second thing that i think people will find of interest at north and west street where the tennis courts are on the on the corner they're building kind of a monument to jerry ross it'll be brick and it will have the i guess they call medallions logos for each of his space missions imprinted into the po positioned into the brick and it took a while for that to happen because although it had to be approved by nasa so but uh they started the brickwork and it'll be interesting to see how that comes along winfield is a standstill thanks robin and uh chief academic officer mr president could i director of elementary education mr ramirez thank you mr president and board members it's my privilege to take this opportunity to recognize our teachers staff and administrators during our transition to red we finished our first complete week at the elementary level and i think that it goes without saying that their collaboration the structure they've provided the quality teaching and learning that has been happening has really resulted in engaged students and in talking with principals and talking with parents we're hearing that the attendance at zoo meetings the attendance and participation throughout the buzz agenda has significantly increased there are opportunities for connections with peers and with other support staff members that are being provided to support our students during these times and also the active communication that our teachers and our staff are engaging in to work in partnership with our families i think has significantly increased and i think is really worthy of noting overall i think that when we look at what red looks like now for us the growth and yet the unwavering commitment of our teachers to figuring out how to leverage technology how to use instructional strategies to meet the needs of kids is really resounding and i'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our families and our caregivers for their ongoing support and involvement i'm going to steal i think a quote from one of our excalibur students who spoke at the beginning when she said that you know for them for yearbook they're figuring out the new way of doing things and i think that that's a true statement for all of us and i just think that it's genuinely a commitment that our community has shown to making things work given uncertain times to make sure that kids are learning and thriving in our schools lastly i would just like to share that i think something that has not changed is our community of care and so it's exciting to me to see weekly in the elementary newsletters what is going on whether it is pto fundraisers that are being done with slightly different pickup procedures but still that commitment to our school communities food bank drives we're seeing kids who are still working to give back to those who are in need this holiday season as well as then things like virtual book fairs figuring out how to transform something that has been done in person into an online platform so that kids can continue to build their home library so i just want to commend everyone for all that they are doing to make everything as good as it possibly can be and i think that is aligned with really the mission of our school so there aren't any questions i will conclude thank you thank you mr thank you and then uh director of secondary education mr dean fermi well mrs ramirez stole much of my thunder so i'll try to fill in what i can um you'll have to go first next month yeah we gotta switch that up a little bit um you know last month i spent my time acknowledging and complimenting our secondary teachers administrators and support staff on all the work and the layers it takes to move from one learning model to another and we know within that month we were somewhat devastated by contact training so this time when we started knowing that we had to move to red and distance learning for all of our students they were in the midst of dealing with contact tracing still teaching in the building and then preparing for this and knowing that the distance learning this time would be much different than it was back in the spring that the expression expectation would be you know live zooming recording themselves doing the instruction flipping the classroom if you will being available for those kids that needed help via zoom via phone call via email and also in some cases at the high school the buildings are still open so we have cte classes where you really can't do a bandsaw lesson on the zoom so there are still kids that will come in in small groups and work and work with teachers so just another amazing job by our our staffs at the secondary level uh an illustration is you know getting a call from the high school principal on a late sunday afternoon thinking he's gonna talk about a game he just saw but he wants to know what are the expectations for red because i'm about to have a voluntary zoom meeting with all my instructional leaders at six o'clock on sunday and they're all gonna be there okay this is what we're doing so those are the things what we don't see our teachers doing putting all that extra time in and all that preparation so they really have done a great job of putting in mechanisms to to create that student engagement which is a challenge sometimes at the high school and middle school levels in this distance learning so they've really done a great job with that i do want to acknowledge a group who often are in the back during our school days our school nurses are taking care of all those little things that keep that school running all those emergencies and situations and they were thrust into the front lines over during that contact training they did a wonderful job i know uh dan turian our head of nursing and chris ohmann and corey saboten the high school tiffany bowman at taft middle school um kristen gorski at colonel wheeler and then our floater keller mccartney that's all at the secondary level i don't i don't know all the elements but just a wonderful job by them and really appreciate what they did and that was very stressful for them and they really really without them we wouldn't be able to manage all that so any questions on the secondary level thank you all right thank you g for me director of exceptional education ms pascus good evening mr morning and board of trustees um just to kind of back up what mr jan farmy and mrs ramirez also spoke to is kudos to our staff um recently observed my one preschool teacher doing a zoom lesson with all preschoolers up in the on the screen you know about six little faces looking at her while she was teaching virtually it was pretty incredible and then we are asking a lot of everyone and one of the things we know that is right for our kids with the most need is we are going to bring our applied skills students back next monday instead of thursday we just feel like with many of them not being able to interact with technology being non-verbal and having several therapies you know located at school we felt like it was best for them to give them a head start with in-person learning so they're going to start back next monday so i thank my teachers and my parents and food service and transportation who are starting things back a few days early for in-person learning for that group of students we had our first parent advisory meeting last week and it was via zoom but we had a small but very positive turnout parents were very receptive to the changes that have already taken place within the department as well as working collaboratively with us and giving input in what they feel like they need from us as a district in a department they gave us some great feedback and input on communication and in january we're going to have a behavior workshop led by our behavior specialist who we're so thankful to have and then in february we'll meet with them again as a group and then in other exciting news in a couple of weeks we're going to meet with dr cole and dr hardy who were that was part of the team that came and did the audit they're going to meet with the academic team and talk to us about possibly helping us with the strategic plan for some of the other action items we need to move forward with thank you will we will we be providing them with a kind of list of things that we've you know action items that we've taken and get their input on that yes we'll definitely update that on what because we have gotten quite a bit accomplished in a short time so before you sit down i think important for you guys to know so heather has led cabinet through at least two different meetings already with a list of the things that we have to accomplish given updates of where we are with them what are we doing next so when we come back together so we're reading on a regular basis to address those concerns and making sure that we are doing the most appropriate and efficient and effective means possible to address the needs that are there you heard about those tonight with the parent advisory with looking at our behavior specialist and what she's doing for our our buildings already our corporation looking at preschool and how now that we address that issue is one of the major issues that came up in that report as well so heather and kudos to the directors as they continue to work together weekly but then to bring it back to the rest of the cabinet members on a monthly basis so that we can continue to stay at the forefront of this and making sure that it's not slipping back that we are making sure we're addressing the needs as they've been identified well yeah i think it's great that they're i mean they're literally coming back to review within the first year of delivering the actual report i wasn't expecting them to come back that fast but i'm glad that they are so that's good thank you thank you mrs passes mr hartman chief academic officer i just want to poke out some words that were just spoken of we had a goal that we wanted to improve instruction from last march through the beginning of the year to this point in time uh within the red we all knew that there had to be substantial improvement and working with the principals working with the teachers working with our blended learning specialists that was the charge that's what we wanted to do and i think what you're hearing here is that is occurring we're not there yet we will continue to improve i know that when that point in time comes where we move back to a green status at some point time or possibly a yellow that's one of the goals too is to make that improve when you have quarantined students and or students that are home as well as being in person so we'll continue to work towards towards that you know mark used the word thunder and i do think there's in a sense that if you could just kind of think there is a thunder right now because i think things are improving for our students and i say that for our students people are reaching out to touch our kids our disengaged kids people are spending time to try to get them engaged for our students that are with us they are actively involved when we i was in uh one of our child care sites and uh to see our little kindergartners on a computer zoom with their teachers standing up doing activities it was it was really amazing just to see what is what is taking place uh within the school corporation so i would like to thank you know heather sabrina mark the principals uh jeremy walker susan valentine jennifer grill we've got quite a staff that's working educationally to work with our teachers so that they can be best supported to accomplish the things that they are doing and within that you think about the money that's been put as far as the technology we appreciate that and then the support through the personnel department we have people that are dealing with stuff and we're really working to help people handle their situations in the best way possible so i would say thank you to everyone and what a great time this week to actually be able to say that to all of you so thank you very much awesome thank you thank you you know if i could add to that so friday i mentioned i was at winfield walking through checking on the construction and realizing of course we don't have kids in the building so those guys are really getting after it even more so now with everything they can do but i i walked past a classroom and it was like i heard all this noise and i was like are there kids in that classroom and so i backed up and looked in the window and you could see the teacher in front of her laptop and she's doing all that and it hurt it just sounded like a classroom and i was to me it was rejuvenating because one of our concerns all of our concerns anybody who's an educator their concern is that interaction with kids as jim sabrina mark heather i've spoke to already and i thought wow that's really cool and i went down the hallway and it was repeated room after room after room and so it was just really encouraging to me to hear i mean it just sounded like a regular classroom because of how the kids are interacting so just a neat experience for me so as you were speaking mr harvin too and from what you just said dr terrell i think it's a a good time to say thank you to the parents and the grandparents and the care centers as well because it's we've all known ed that part of it hasn't got easier we have uh three of us board members have children you know scott and i have elementary well we have elementary children uh so we can relate the we see that the we see the change this time and the full day of scheduling and i see uh mr caceres shaking his head a little bit too from skillman but uh um so we've seen that in we've seen that effort um from the corporation and then we just also can can see the the the parents effort that goes into it and that's been there as well so okay we go chief human resource officer mr akiba yes thank you mr warning board members dr terrell um with the same theme here um i'm going to highlight a few areas here that that might not normally be you know recognized but that wonderful term that we've all become very close to and we love so much called contact tracing the the effort and perseverance it takes to manage these moments that are incredibly fluid and spontaneous sometimes coming at us on a saturday sunday uh six in the morning uh when you know positives are reported and i think one thing to keep in mind is we reflect and we're still working with this right now is that you know granted we're reporting out to our school communities on the effect that a positive case on one of our school sites has had on our school corporation but there are positive outside of our school corporation that affect us for example if you know you happen to have a family member that's positive that positive case never made it on our campus but yet that employee is affected or that student is affected you know they have to quarantine um so this is quite the frantic moment as this information comes to our schools we've got an employee who's worried it might be symptomatic it might be a close contact what do i do already they're calling the principal and just to give you an idea our point person for all these are our first person we want to listen to that individual is the nurse the nurse is the one that really filters out the facts of that situation and establishes if you will the quarantine window what should we do and when do we need to start looking at and all of a sudden the contact tracing team springs into action and that's pretty much the front office staff so um mark already mentioned the nurses but i want to you know make sure that we recognize every nurse and that's our subs our contact tracing teams our front office staff members these are folks that have to look through the seating charts and identify all these folks and then make the phone calls to the families which are not always pleasant but just done an amazing job how courteous they've been and so much uh perseverance and intestinal fortitude to make it through you know what they've been through so uh but now once that's done it's very important to understand that we have employees that need to be quarantined due to the state guidelines from the health department so they may or may not be able to teach from home you know we may or may not need a substitute for that person there's a lot on the back end that has to happen with emergency leave and employee data in regards to leave days so all that information again comes into the hr area and i just want to go ahead and thank right now sherry lotzenheiser cheryl emery and lori cooper because they're the ones that are reconciling all this on the back end and it's a lot and again we're doing whatever we can to support our staff members and our cafeteria workers and our bus drivers to make sure that they get paid accordingly for work that they're doing either on our campuses or at home and if they're not able to work at home we're getting them the necessary emergency leave forms to fill out so they are made whole with the emergency cares act money uh leave that money so again uh sheri cheryl and lori thank you so much you guys done a wonderful job and uh hey we've got great people here um and it's amazing how much care energy and teaming just happens spontaneously in these situations and it just makes you feel good to be a part of all it's hard but i wouldn't want to take on this challenge with anybody else than the folks we have in crowd point community school corporation so thank you everybody and that's all i have thank you thanks and ms dowling the chief financial officer 25 minute speech prepared is that okay your time is up man tom the first i think just for everybody's benefit is i don't have children in the district but i have a lot of friends who have children in the district and i have been um pleasantly surprised at their positivity as we've had to shift this time um very complementary to the teachers the staff that was not a good choice of words yeah positivity their positivity rate positivity rate of defense [Laughter] what's that communications direction they've been very complimentary about their feedback has been complementary as to the experience and just how things have shifted how fluid uh our teaching staff is and how well they've adjusted to be able to provide what kids need um you know i added on my whiteboard flexibility is a life skill my mom tells me that my whole life and i think our our staff is definitely especially from a parent perspective because these are folks that maybe weren't as positive in the beginning so it's refreshing here we go with positive for them to be positive moving on from that um wanted to recognize two different sets of staff first um chantelle pierce and we've talked about her before she's our our data specialist within the business office but really for the whole corporation um her first year in this position and chantelle always does 120 percent but i continue to be just floored at her ability to be efficient and to solve complex problems efficiently timely the demands on her have been immense and she's continued just to rise to the occasion to be able to give staff what they need to be able to do what they need to do in rds and buzz so that the teachers can do what they need to do for kids second as there's such a focus on cleaning of the buildings and sanitation on the custodial staff and the corporation as well as mike moleski was here this evening you know our custodial staff have done an outstanding job making sure um that we have coverage that our cleaning protocols are met appropriately that includes them doubling back doubling up working over because you know custodials had some impact as we've gone through on this process but in addition to that mike has actually tripled their custodial subs available by recruiting which serves as a great feeder but also gives them even more coverage so we can put people at ease that they're you know they have coverage buildings are clean things are done appropriately so i conclude thank you thank you thank you just one one point uh going back to your earlier presentation showing where we rank as far as our tax rate gary will now move beyond us with their recent referendum is that accurate i would assume so i haven't i don't know what their ending rate will be gary gary's referendum but that was operating not capital was that yeah it was i think there's just pure operating okay okay thank you miss dolly and superintendent of schools dr terrell so i'm going to continue with the thanksgiving theme this evening um you know i i think back to conversations that i had with all of you and your recognition of things that needed to change here structurally as we went into you know all of the directors the cabinet members this evening have mentioned the challenges that we're facing with covet we already have a complicated task and that's educating our kids and with all of that that's taking place we still continue to do both and do it well and you know i think a lot of that goes to looking at the it was just six seven weeks ago as i was reminded today that we reorganized responsibilities as a cabinet and the things that these individuals sitting in front of you tonight have taken on and the way they've taken that on has really put us in a place where we're able to provide the additional supports for our people and buildings to be able to make the changes that have been necessary to look at and remove responsibilities and shift things around so that we can focus on covet impacts and all that that's done for rd and but yet the financial piece so the amount of work and the willingness of this group that sits in front of you this evening that they put out on a regular basis and are willing to do and do very well um i just appreciate very very much um second thing and last thing that i'll bring to you this evening so we're starting a new tradition here in crown point schools and that is for our christmas cards so we're going to develop a corporation christmas card and in there we will have a message from you and me from our administrative team here and we will send those out to our stakeholders businesses we work with different groups so we identify as key communicators so this year what we did was we asked our elementary schools to create christmas cards have their kids do christmas cards so behind you this evening before you leave we have the top five so we received a stack diana am i exaggerating a stack of christmas cards and so what we did is we put them out throughout this entire room and we had everybody in the building here come through and they could vote for their top three and they would tally those up so what we've done then is we have brought the top five to you this evening before you leave i'd like you on the sticky note that's in front of the the five cards behind you put your first second and third place and we'll tally those up and those will become the crown point christmas card for this year and we'll get those printed up and give you guys and then we'll invite the winner in give them a stack of christmas cards that they can use to send to their relatives or whatever else they want to do awesome but just kind of a new tradition that we're going to do here in crown point schools so before you leave please make sure you pick out your first second and third choices thank you thank you thank you and then uh other business of the board um i have a few if you guys remind me opening um so we'd be right with all of you guys i'd like to reach out to michael adamson in the next couple weeks but to schedule something in january or february for the evaluation process um does that sound right wait until the end of the beginning of the year um so i'll just check with him check his availability we do we definitely would like to continue to work with him correct yes okay you do that by zoom i would plan we'd do a zoom yes yeah save him to travel and maybe we could knock out two briefs maybe some trucks yeah right sure i have to come back from arizona um my personal opinion the emails being now sent to the entire board is a great uh a great improvement um some have been mis i've missed some have responded some but we've got now we've got all the eyes to catch them coming through and i think if we haven't got back to somebody uh you know it's clearly a mistake but i think we've done pretty good job so thank you guys for helping out with those just in relation to that is there an expert on that that can help me forward that to a different email address yeah i'm doing that as well so uh yes it's very helpful trust me logging into ours talking about security we're still trying to figure it out that's a good thing is it possible to have the mailbox added to our iphones as one of our additional mailboxes yes we can make that happen that's that's what i would do that's what i would prefer and i can choose that as well over 50 i know nothing about technology [Music] so imagine what happens when you're older than that he was complaining about the dewey decimal i still like going to look up those cards and there's nothing wrong with that system um oh question for dr charles uh which schools are 700 capacity right now i'm assuming it's lake street and eisenhower so right now lake street is winfield is ross is eisenhower is not correct it's a little under a little underwear over six but i don't think i made seven we did the addition there but i know for sure we did that project we expand it's over six but i don't think quite some so then which ones are which ones are seven then ross winfield and lake street is that yeah got it windshield will be yes okay yes and if i remember correctly eisenhower's close like i want to say between six and seven somewhere about oh that's eisenhower solon is and that's one that we will have to look at and address in the future as well okay so and then miss darling the um we've had some conversations in the past the education foundation or we is that something you think we'll get figured out in the first quarter of 2021 hopefully and get the ball in well actually the funds have been distributed to the crown point community foundation the existing funds that were left in the education foundation that was there um ironically there was also a match available which is great it went into the crumpled creative school endowment so that filters right back in um attorneys nick has been working on the dissolution they we did have didn't have a 501c3 there's some legwork i know she sends an email i believe on friday that i'll be honest i've not gotten to yet uh with another update but she'll keep us in the loop but yes i mean i don't anticipate we'll be on that show i don't know okay and if there's any information i can pass to you know those that are maybe looking for something for closure um just let me know if i could say anything wrong um i'm all finished who else has any other uh board board business nothing for me how about uh we'll move to statements appreciation if something comes up we could you mention it through that uh we'll start with mr smith for more statements appreciation recognition thank you dave i i just want to say happy thanksgiving to all of you i know you know in the midst of of this work cycling this year it's been interesting and i i hope and pray that you guys take some time and breathe our teachers will take some time away and breathe we have a lot to be thankful for even in the midst of all this and as a corporation as individuals so i hope it'll take time to reflect and appreciate that i appreciate you know serving with you guys all of you and so much what is what was said tonight i want abco and it's it's really fascinating to see through all this through the changes through covid you continue to do your job uh even at times when i've you know brought concerns or others have brought concerns they've been addressed in the midst of all this and it's really been impressive so i want to commend each one of you sitting here today and as i say and i have said for four months thank you to the teachers thank you to our staff our administrators because it really is from from the top all the way down everybody has done a phenomenal job and tried our best and i i'm excited i i'm actually excited for the direction we're going and so i know we're tired i know people are tired but i'm excited you guys done a great job so i want to commend scott scott on the election and your campaign congratulations on your win i know that's tough and a lot of time and effort goes into that so i want to commend you guys and then lastly todd i think you went and solved the play i did as i do always the trials of the news are scrooge um they went off and they got through it so i want to commend all the students um mr degenhardt mr flu and bobby kobach for all their hard work there's a great stage you know it's a courtroom it's home to me it was great not seeing that and they did a great job with it especially in spite of all the distancing and the things that they have to do and that goes for any of our extracurricular activities to be able to continue to function in light of or in spite of the uh restrictions it's pretty impressive so i want to commend them for their efforts and it was a great show so thank you did you notice the newly refinished theater stage four i did not get close enough to it i'm down below so i need to go check it out so is that another courtroom you're undefeated in brian i wish i could say that thank you brad how about uh mr baby uh two groups of people um kind of echoing some comments from today obviously the the teachers and in in partnership with the teachers the curriculum development team that's in this room um because when we when we first went started this journey this cova journey how anybody could have any expectations of the teachers to kind of deal with that situation when we didn't even really have you know any expertise in just having an e-learning platform at the time so for them to go from where we were in march to where we are now i mean has been absolutely amazing and i've seen just the energy level in my own house you know listening to my kids in the background in different rooms in the house and just hearing kids talking and you know a scheduled time frame for their learning and it's just night and day different so between you guys in this room and the teachers you guys have rose to a tremendous unbelievable challenge and i thank you for that that's it i'd like to obviously echo the sentiments of the things that have been said but as as dad mentioned we we've got thanksgiving and um someone suggested it starts from the top and so my my thanksgiving moment here is thank god for todd i want to commend you for coming into the school corporation taking on a huge challenge in the midst of this pandemic making immediate changes that that are producing great benefit uh i think we've got some camaraderie back in the school corporation some teamwork and i expect a lot of positive things to happen not positivity but positive things thank you so it's funny because we don't collaborate on what we're going to say and mine was the exact same thing with another thing on the end and that was dr till's come in here and allowed people to be people and do good do what they're best at and that's allow those people that have the specialties in their areas to collaborate and come out with things like the result of tonight with this so that being said though i also want to thank previous members whether it be cfos superintendents for putting us in a financial position with their wherewithal to be able to be in a position to do this because not to say that would be criminal in that matter um so thank you to those past individuals that allow us to be in the spot we're in today but to dr terrell and stepping in with feet on fire making sure he put people in the right places but allowing to hear and listen to them so we knew what needed to be addressed includes every area of uh secondary education middle exceptional learners i mean with the audit and all that and the pace we're going forward excellent work already dealing with everything on a daily basis katie on the financial aspect and to our newcomer in the back brook allen who doesn't sit at the table but to wrestle in some of those that need help with communication and to be able to be put in a position where we can communicate now freely to our community partners to our parents and all that in a way that they can now get it sooner faster in a better way because obviously we knew that was one needed part even interviewing dr terrell i mean that was one of the sell points with dr terrell knowing that he has already had a communication director in his previous spot and that we could get to a level of where we need to be on that aspect we may provide quality education for fair tax dollars and all that but we were lacking in some areas and that's kudos to dr terrell for fixing those lacking areas even with covet going on so i'll sentiment with the happy thanksgiving thoughts this is just can't wait till january 1 until 2020 is over so let's let's get to thanksgiving first but uh yes that's all i have hey guys i think you guys you're covering i couldn't agree more with the the in-house thank yous and the great jobs and and uh completely agree i have somehow mentioned um not within their building but i read the article yesterday you may have seen it mr ligna and the fire department teamed up i believe the article said he was walking into um jewel and uh mr keyboard did you see this so so i bring in mr mr ligna was a coach for a long time coached me and he was the type of guy didn't always see i died too but i always did my best for uh because he was the coach i tried to never let him down was the type of person and the person he tried to bring out of his players but uh so i guess he was going to juul the other day and they were collecting some food for a food pantry spur the moment idea get all the firemen families whoever you can bring and we're going to do a shopping spree and it's going to be on my dime and i don't quote me but i believe the article said they filled thirty shopping carts thirteen thousand dollar tab and um in a in a time of thanksgiving read arc like that it was uh uh and then to know somebody who has done a lot for children and it was a nice article to see that he is able to do that willing to do that and it was really neat to read so that was mr and the other thing i'd like to say um mr martinet comes in a lot says i'll tell you guys everyone wants to bash the kids at today but these kids are good kids and they're good kids and it's one of the things that mr marsnick always kind of preaches that to us he is you know you hear something about all the kids nowadays but he says no these kids are good and i just want to i want to thank our students that i've seen in the pickup drop off line at timothy ball elementary that i've seen you know out on the streets in the community that i've heard from everybody to be so respective of this mask order these masks are a hassle to all of us and it's hard to believe that we're you know wearing them daily and the students but of all the people in our community it just seems to me that the the children or the kids who you could expect some rebellion from have just been amazing so good for them i think that really that really does say a lot for them and for their upbringing in our community so that's all i have uh any last words from anybody anybody uh in our audience like to offer anything before we close i think i need mr to tell me where he spent all this money so just just for the note when we start that evaluation i just want to note that it only took four meetings for todd to get over the two hours oh we better look for a motion to adjourn this is so moved second moved by mr angel is a second by mr hoffman all those favors singing bye bye saying aye aye aye aye opposed curious about zero happy thanksgiving to everybody you

yeah yeah we started with so comcast extended is a little bit easier because we just have to give them a code and they go and do the install with the t-mobile i think we started with 50 hot spots and then we've already ordered another 50 so we expect to we're administrators doing a great job pushing this out as well and getting helping to identify those families and get them some support um but it's been great i know corey's done a great job of helping with it cj as well and stacy i mean we're doing the best to get those outs corey do you know a number firm number so pretty amazing but we still we still have work to do because i think we can support up to around 400 families so by all means we want to continue to get the word out this is good for me here yes yep for a year troopers and their warriors and they care deeply for their kids and their families and you know they're stepping up to the challenge just like they do in in any other year and you know we're doing our best to encourage them to take it one day at a time and um but also reminding themselves to take care of themselves so and we have some have some things along the lines to make sure that teachers are emphasizing self-care and taking care of themselves and this has belt put on the spot but she's going to offer a yoga course or offer some yoga for some teachers and the administrators are doing all kind of all kinds of other activities just to make the work day as fun as possible put out a message today offering to purchase i can't remember the name of the book now that i'm now that i'm on the spot but essentially it's a self-care book by dr jennifer ashton and it's a month-to-month approach um just to help support and reinforce positive habits and self-care and kind of under those those principles that will buy one for for any teacher that wants one um because at the end of the day we do so much caring for for everyone else we forget to take care of number one so we need to take care of ourselves as well yeah i was just going to mention to keep mr mr pearson and his wife and our thoughts and prayers anything else okay last item on the agenda is a german thank you all for coming and everyone you

90. for one semester thinks Edge annuities paid for the year for the year total for the year total for the year but no that's not too bad does it increase like depending on how many like let's say we have 20 more students who sign up for Ingenuity just so it's one full coverage okay that's great right absolutely I mean you know within the scope thank you Mr Kylie anyone else just yeah thank you so I'm glad I asked that question and I appreciate your thorough answer because all this is so important I am not I like math but I am not um I don't even balance my checkbook and so I can only imagine you must be pulling your hair out every single day and you do with a smile on your face that this has to be um uh I'm just I'm studying Chaos Theory right now I'm going back to school myself at night in the middle of the night but um and it just yeah I was like Wow chaos theory and coronavirus it's you must just be this just must be a nightmare for you and I appreciate you and your staff and all that you're doing and just I just can't even imagine and it's glad it's you and it's not me because we'd be in a heap of mess but thank you thank you Mr Kylie thank you uh next up Personnel update so you have two sheets and Dr Jenkins I emailed you the two sheets to your Dartmouth email did you got those Shannon Dartmouth email to your Dartmouth email uh Miss Roy sent them to your Dartmouth email yeah I got it yeah yep so the first sheet the one that is got the yellow highlighting is the Staffing update on positions at central office and Educators in each of the schools and the second sheet which is mostly the blue and the pink highlighting is our teacher assistance which is a little more complicated so you can see in the yellow highlights um you know as we navigate through the year we're trying to adjust each issue as it arises and in some cases an inability to stop a position causes us to try to look internally to fill that so as Mr Kylie mentioned we had Virtual Academy teachers that are partially funded through the Corona virus Relief Fund there were six of them we were able to find five within the pool that we searched extensively Mrs Oliveira did all the interviewing and reviewing and all of that one of which we ended up Staffing with a portion of a coach Ela coach from one building and a math coach from the other that are also doing the science and the history in the um and you can see each area has one that we may have chosen not to staff at the moment if it's a specialist it may be due to the fact that you know half of the students are in we don't have a need we're waiting you know as far as funding and all of that we have a special ed position in one school that we were not able it was a late resignation we're not able to find a candidate but we did have a specialist person that was licensed in that area and was moved into that role and there was a position at the high school that wasn't needed because of the numbers in that particular content area so um the nurse a new additional nursing position was posted and we're pretty close to filling that to help cover some of the absences in the nursing pool that we're having trouble Staffing on a regular basis because of there's just no subs whether it's substitutes for teachers or substitutes for nurses The Substitute pool is really low because a lot of the districts are trying to fill long-term sub positions and so there aren't a lot of candidates out there for substitutes and they're being snatched up pretty quickly so that's the overview of the um admin Staffing and the educator Staffing the other sheet is my attempt to simplify the teacher assistance which is a very much a moving Target but my summary is sort of all the way over to the writing yellow so you can see at the bottom overall we're down about 5.6 Tas but within that our three exiting grade 12 one-to-ones so those would have exited anyways on in-school suspension position that we eliminated because it really wasn't a need for that we also added two one-to-one Tas at Quinn um we were able to um find those recently those are the GAA positions are difficult to find um we also have a couple openings in the regular ta positions at Quinn that we're hoping to either shift or be able to find because the Tas are helping us with the substitute Gap so they're used to the classrooms they're used to the technology they're also filling when we have IEP meetings they're covering those um so the percentages in the middle kind of tell you a story about what percent of our classrooms we have regular Tas that are able to help and you can see Quinn is down they are our largest school at about 575 and they have our lowest percentage of regular Tas that can help so they also have some gaps in their special areas that we just can't send a PE teacher or a music teacher over there we just don't have enough to navigate all that so we have a person between two like grade one classes and the TA is helping the second one well the the our teacher goes back and forth or the music teacher goes between the two classrooms so the TA pool is really being stretched to help us fill those IEP meetings and the absences and the need to help with some of the special areas so I don't know if you have any questions on either one of those I um thank you yeah I had asked I had asked Dr Gifford um to have someone from her office put together where we're at with Personnel I thought it was important for us to be cognizant of what's going on um in the district so if I'm looking at this correctly Miss Roy for the Tas we have a we're right now at a a minus 5.6 ftes for the T8 for the th which includes like I said the the three one-to-ones that would have exited because their students were graduating and uh in school suspension program that we didn't need the Middle School library ta that was also helping with the PE for the one-to-one that moved up to the high school so there are some that we naturally would have uh lost but we also added a few so it with one-to-ones at Quinn and components of that so it's a little bit of a balancing act but that's where we are yes and as far as professional positions go what do we have do you um all total as far as what as far as professional teaching positions and administration positions I see so we had as far as we had six virtual teachers that were added in a nurse and then we had us one central office we had six people that were currently not filled and six new ones that were added okay so it's sort of a wash kind of a wash yeah thank you very much anyone else there's questions yes yeah thank you Mr chairman quick question uh as I look on the Demello the the Demello School line when you come into after the 40 you've got seven of twenty so on the Demello okay just and I mean and it goes down the line that's the way my math brain works all right so they Demello has 20 uh sections when you count up all their grades they have eight regular Tas those are the ones that help them so they aren't assigned to students so they can cover 40 8 out of 20 40 of their classrooms with the Tas right if we shift one to Quinn because we're trying to decide what that would bring them to covering 35 percent of their classrooms if we need them okay but just above there Potter has nine regular Tas 18 goddesses 50 if we ship one they're at about 44 and Quinn has seven with 31 classes that's 23 of their classes so you can see why we're trying to look at that if we shift to you know one from each of the others we're still at 29 right they're our largest school right but if you go next to the 40 percent you have seven of twenty if I move one so if I have eight there now and we move one to Quinn right they're down to seven oh covering the classes okay got it we're trying to you know then we have a hard time finding Tas and we try to prioritize the one-to-ones first and the programs first so we're pretty close to filling that we're 0.5 down on doing that and then we're looking at the regular Tas now I got it thank you yeah in terms of David thank you if if anyone's used to kind of riding the wave it's it's the quintias and and trying to figure out where they need to be uh you know just speaking with the highest need population um and if I'm reading this correct where they're down one it or no 0.5 you said for Quinn is um they have an intermittent one in their one of their programs that we believe were close to finding a candidate for okay and then we have two um Regular Tas that are on leaves all right are those though I don't if you could speak to like there are the ones where we're close to they're not one-to-one say they're just staff support extra okay and they're using you know sometimes they're using those those to help out if some like online or minute one yeah or if somebody's out yep yep okay yes just uh just a point of clarification like when I look at the Virtual Academy so in grade four that's currently being is that currently being taught by the Demello and Quinn coaches and how are you I guess my broader question is as I look at Demello they've had a retiree for their math coach just retired it sounds like a lot of the literacy coaches the math coaches are doing a lot of filling in is there a plan after this year to replace that math coach for about like how how is that how are you kind of dividing up that those former responsibilities of the literacy of the math coaches now that they're covering classes and supporting staff and and we have a vacancy at Demello like how is that all flushing out cult recently retired in in November so that's yeah no opening um we have um the math is prioritizing computational fluency I mean Mrs Oliver can help but we're not making any major shifts in the mouth curriculum at this point I think it's a priority for the following Year Tracy is that correct I'm sorry I couldn't hear you she was looking at Tracy math coach math curriculum education system in here more priority for next year is that correct yes okay yeah okay sorry Mr chairman I had to use my mom voice yeah it was actually it was it was Mary's question yes it was just a recent retiree but the point is the plan ultimately to fill that position in the fall if we hopefully it depends on budget right yeah yeah it absolutely depends on your budget okay the greatest priority is to fill the classrooms and the special oppositions first and then see where we are thank you thank you Dr Jenkins you have anything just got a pretty swirl there it's okay thank you Miss Roy complex it's always moving yeah yeah next up I'll turn it over to doctors couple of things superintendent something yeah a couple of things um so obviously we continue to meet with the Board of Health um we we had a number of discussions this weekend on some positive cases that came up in the schools but each one of them I have to say we met again this morning our normal Monday morning meeting with some nurses Board of Health well I say Board of Health Christmas show and um working through all of those scenarios making sure everybody's on the same page working through contact tracing etc etc we've been very fortunate um so far we do have a couple of uh bigger contact tracing numbers that will be on quarantine coming up but we continue to keep the transmission in school kind of not there so that's a good piece as much as who knows what will happen but um so I just wanted to make it make it clear too for folks that have questioned about asking about the number of quarantines Etc that is such a complex number because so much of it is out of abundance of caution it could be 10 people it could be five it could be one so every scenario was different and to maintain numbers per se it I mean we might know each school what it is but it's not a number that you continue to I mean people could be going home for you know bad sore throat and a temperature but have nothing to do with that so it's ongoing but as I said we have a great collaboration with the with Chris misho he's fantastic and um the town nurse and able to work through all of the scenarios um Athletics you know that uh the M.I.A came out with the new guidance last Friday I spoke with Andy today Andy cristofulli and as you know the start date has been extended to December 14th they're looking at basketball and ice hockey so he'll be coming up with a plan of action for that it's it's a little bit more complex than Outdoors as we had it so we'll see what we're thinking as that moves along and what schools I have to say a lot of the schools that I've spoken to the superintendents that totally were against the fall sports are leaning towards trying to do something now I think they saw that it went pretty successfully at a lot of districts but some are being held back of course because of Jim's space that they might be using the gymnasiums for classrooms Etc as you know the governor and they keep continuing to come out with the statements about everyone get in school and I know we get emails Etc about why aren't we all in school but I want to reiterate that we continue to still have to maintain the guidance which is six feet uh our classrooms are separated that way we cannot fit more students in our classrooms with that guidance so unless they want to build as a new school um we have to continue using the model that we're using at this point and that goes for the transportation as well so as much as they say everyone in school full-time it's it's two sides of your mouth if you will you know get them all in and to your point Dr Gifford if you don't mind yeah for those just for everyone watching what's the probability of us returning full-time because obviously we've all heard those you know those parents or those community members like you just said that where we should all be back in school all the students should be back in school really what is the probability of us returning anytime soon just so just so we're all clear on this to none okay I would say next to none that if I had to BET right now I'd bet on Next To None I don't that's kind of my feeling too I just wanted to to say that because I know there's a lot of people in the community right like you said that why aren't with the governor saying the commissioner's saying this and you're absolutely right yeah we just can't fit it there's there's absolutely no way that we can following social business and guidelines in transportation guidelines yeah that it really transportation is a huge issue and until they come up with updated right for for both updated guidance you know I don't I don't personally see that happening so I I guess I guess my question that I asked Mr Kylie back in September or October that you know this all of a sudden the middle of July January went away in the two days that he would need to get the schools open we don't have to worry about right right there you go no we don't and to that point even with all the contact tracing when we have a student in a cohort Mr Kylie's office is spending a ton of time trying to look at videos of the buses to see just how how much the students adhere to the guidance did they take their masks off were they close together speaking so trying to follow that guidance and then do contact tracing is an issue it's it's a huge issue yeah just you know and I almost feel like I'm you know I know Dr Jenkins you know brings us up you know and I'm you know maybe I'm you know stepping in here but you know we are approaching Thanksgiving you know we have so many families who are you know want their students back in full time I mean again like Thanksgiving should not be big groups it should be your own intimate family I mean that's who should be I mean it's sad I mean I know you know personally I had to put I haven't seen my parents in over a year I plan to go down had to cancel that so I you know it's a hard decision but if we want our kids back in the schools we have to make sure that we're keeping everybody safe and you know being really smart and keeping the people that we love who are older or you know um in more fragile Health we're keeping them safe as well but again I think those two things and I know so Dr Gifford you know with that in mind I know of you sent it on email but could you um clarify again just so for everybody who's here to hear like if you choose to go you know drive down to Florida for Thanksgiving you know and have a big potluck you know at greenon's house what will be and you know Johnny comes back and says like it was a great you know my cousin's I had like a big wrestling contest like what will what will happen like what how does that play out so what's the governor's guidance I guess for all the Dartmouth families that are in Florida or Disney World right now yes yes yeah they're supposed to fill out his um sheet there's a form online the and also um have a test within 72 hours of returning to the state and then produce that negative I don't know who you're producing you know giving the negative results to but if you do not have your results when you return back to Massachusetts you're supposed to quarantine until you get those results I think it's harder to get tests right now that's what I've heard you know we've got the long lines in this yeah there's only two good States right that's right [Laughter] I just want to say like my interpretation from sort of following this and sort of hearing people in the community is is it's frustrating to hear certainly it's fascinating to hear the commissioner and the governor you know now after having districts sort of make plans to come in and say X Y and Z should be in person but my interpretation in really hearing him and listening to them and I encourage people to do this because anyway uh is what he's saying is and and how I interpret it is we are as full as we can be into it for our community we are full in person we're going every other day those chose hybrid I mean uh Virtual Academy that's one thing but but where every other day our kids are not uh away from school except for quarantine and those things are in place for more than a day they're back with their teachers um we are in essence back in full capacity with following the guidance right and so um I was encouraged and it could be out of context I didn't watch the whole the whole thing but the governor did speak to this today and he said he clarified that he while he's saying what he's saying to the most the capacity that you can go back in person that you do it with all the safety precautions and but it's leaving it up to the local the Lea the local education authority to make those decisions because we know our buildings we've measured them you've I haven't but I've but Jim has and the staff you know put all this in place for the safety of the families and to Mary's point Thanksgiving college kids coming home I I just implore families to really stress to their loved ones who are back in town from college not to be having birthday parties not to be having parties at their house not to be doing that if you really want your students to be in person as much as you can you really need to do what we need to do right now as a community to make sure that we don't mess up and we don't go to remote and we don't you know our numbers don't go high we've got to do our due diligence we miss our friends we miss our colleagues we you know you're away you're back you've got a younger sibling still in the schools if you're back from college please do your best to not mess this up it's on you and I'm sorry I'm I'm really passionate about this and I hope that people adhere to the to what they need to do to be safe because I don't want to go back remote anyway I I completely agree with you Kathleen and I'll just say to the families that made the decision to to travel outside of Massachusetts that's that's perfectly fine we just ask that you please keep in mind the safety of all the staff faculty and students in the Dartmouth public schools in either um receive a receive a covid test or quarantine appropriately per the governor's Autos that's that's kind of what we ask um and so to that point so since we are in the model we're in you know we're continuing to do what we can to enhance the remote days that so um I actually met with Mr Doane today to talk about what he's been doing at the middle school because he get put out to the staff to provide a plan of action of how they're going to continue to enhance the connections that teachers have with students so I was really really pleased with the plan that all of the teachers have developed and that uh first of all the this all students will be checking in in the morning and the attendance to be taken on the remote days because we wanted to make sure we were trying to beef that up as well um all of the teachers have supplied schedules to their students for Google meets that they can join their Google meets at certain times of the day when the teachers are available they've also given times for academic support as a team you know they work in teams at the middle school of course they're also looking and watching and teaching them checking their progress on that go guardian and also they're able to chat with them so if they have questions and that kind of thing and of course the monitoring work through a q a session that they have and they all had schedules because as I said work in a team so either they're meeting with one particular teacher or the whole team it depends on what's going on because they have academic support and the curriculum time and they also are starting which they put out on their parent letter an active learning support online Center that's starting December one that's for all students and it'll be two times a week two thirty to four that there'll be a link for students to be able to link in and teachers will be monitoring that like kind of like an office hour if you will so that's extra that they're starting up on December one what was that called um Active Learning online support center and that went out an apparent letter so again just the work that they're doing to enhance the connections and the live lessons or or contact that students have on their remote days um parent conferences are coming up December 2nd and 9th and um the last thing that I wanted to mention which we I'd like to take up at our next meeting is as you know we mentioned um Miss Roy is retiring so we've been working on some suggestions for a plan of action I send you all some information on some thinking on that so just to mention it tonight that I'd like to put it on the agenda for the next meeting for discussion on how we move forward with that position perfect fine with me and that's all I have with that thank you Dr Gifford all right and will you be with us for the next school committee okay maybe we can have like a cookie or something that's right Dr Jenkins yes did you have something did you did you say something okay what's up John it's just she's all the whole sudden got white tape or something it looks like I don't know next up reported the chair all I have is um you know I think we had a success like you said Dr Gifford a successful uh fall Sports season um I think it went extremely well no major no major problems and like you said I think some other districts will probably be joining in um so that's all really I have um anyone else no I'd just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Out There Our especially our those of you in attendance tonight here uh in person as well as everyone at home our our faculty and staff families Community a Happy Thanksgiving stay safe stay home that's right all right our next regularly scheduled meeting of the Dartmouth school committee is Monday December 7th 6 30 right here in the Dartmouth High Media Center at this time chair will do we have any more any public oh yeah so you're so good this is the news Miss Gunther did you uh receive any other uh public comment or any public comment I don't know because my computer died her computer passed away [Music] I hadn't that up until the time that it did uh okay good enough okay so for the record if you do receive anything you'll forward those to us and I will also call your attention to the emails or or comment on the emails that Dr Gifford forwarded to me um from several community members about the uh old uh business item on the agenda this evening oh yes the yes the equality and diversity it didn't come in to me but Dr Gifford forward them to me and perfect so you have them as a matter of record thank you very much for everything Kate we appreciate it thank you our next regularly scheduled meeting of the diamond school committee is Monday December 7th I think I said that already at this time chair will entertain a motion to adjourn into executive session for the purposes of uh for an update with collective bargaining not to return to open session second so moved a second jumped in there we'll give them we'll give the motion to Mary the second uh Mr the Nunes on the motion any further discussion roll call please Chris Oliver yes Shannon Jenkins Shannon yes Kathleen Amaral yes John noons yes Mary wait yes have a good night everyone meeting's adjourned executive

and this team last year put up quite a bit of points and they're looking to make a championship run which they were not able to do last year due to covid so what's some things east is going to need to do to try to contain this very high-powered silver creek team well they're gonna have to defend the paint silver creek's a lot bigger a lot faster a lot stronger than them and they're gonna have to defend the pay play a hard physical game try and wear them out a little bit i think the east is gonna have to try and run the court get trying to get some easy transition points to play good solid team defense good points there well tonight can we see silver creek come up with their first win of the 2020 2021 season we shall see tonight in the orange pit well zach let's transition over to the olympians you have a brother playing yeah what does he think about the team tonight well malachi either i know he's optimistic for the season i have a lot of seniors returning a lot of experience in turning i know tonight unfortunately would not be able to play due to some ridiculous uh contact tracing through kovit a kid in his class that's a positive and he was somewhere around near him sitting next to him and so that forced him to quarantine and he didn't have the required amount of practices to play tonight so unfortunately won't be able to play but i know he's optimistic and he's decided for the season well the olympians come in and is coached by coach chitty and the olympians basketball team is coming into this season trying to put last season in the rearview mirror last year there were only two seniors and the team was very junior heavy and i had a very young team so zach what can that do to a team to pull them together trying to win against a really good team well i know they're familiar with each other and that helps along with passing and defense and calling things out they know where each other's going to be they know what they're going to be able to do and having that unity and that experience will really help them tonight against a team that is better than in almost every way with their rankings and things like that well last year the olympians picked up big wins over noblesville evansville central martinsville and a hoosier hills conference opponent the madison cubs and also many games last year i noticed the olympians were in them all the way into the fourth but could not finish that's going to be a big keys for tonight's game and why is that so important against one of the top teams in the state well they're top team in the state for a reason they have lots of d1 players they have lots of good coaching and coach shitty and the boys are going to have a hard time tonight they're going to be have their hands full and it's going to be difficult for them to try and pulling out but i have faith in them i do as well you can never go wrong with the home team well i'm sure coach chitty will have these boys fired up and ready to go so we kind of mentioned some already but what are some things columbus east is going to need to do to maintain a very high powered basketball team in the silver creek dragons well yes like i said in the beginning um they're going to have to try and run the court a little bit i think they're trying to have to try and get some transition points in the beginning we'll see what type of defense each team comes out in whether that be zone or man or any type of press we'll see how that affects the game going forward and i think it's going to be an interesting matchup tonight the east might have the firepower pulled off but it's going to be difficult tonight can we see our home team the olympians get off to a hot start and get their season underway with the win and upset the state we shall see tonight with tip off at 7 30 as you can see them coming onto the court now we will take a short break and get a special word from one of our sponsors the columbus auto group why is the columbus auto group the number one destination for your vehicle needs it's the no vulture zone our sales staff is 100 non-commissioned which means they are 100 committed to making sure you leave in the right vehicle not the convenience is important which is why you can schedule online in person or over the phone when you're here you can use our shuttle service wait in our lounge or we can come to you so whether you need a new vehicle or service for your old vehicle the no vulture zone is the place to be [Music] we are just a little over a minute away from tip off here tonight in the orange pit once again we have the silver creek dragons ring third in the state and your home team the columbus east olympians we should have a good one on hand tonight so we will go ahead and introduce the starting lineup for each team zach you want to take it away with the silver creek dragons yeah it looks like tonight that we're starting a freshman guard hayden garten alongside him is going to be a senior guard isaac hinton uh sophomore urgent excuse me junior guard trey shone junior guard brandon northern and senior forward cooper jacoby and that's the starters for the silver creek dragons [Music] now let's take it over for pa announcer dennis pierce for tonight's matchup between the east olympians and the silver creek dragons and now ladies and gentlemen the privilege of this game was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms we enjoy let us honor and respect their efforts in our country by gentlemen removing their caps and everyone standing in attention placing their hands over their hearts as we proudly play our national anthem [Music] all right oh all right [Applause] all right zach you want to go ahead and introduce the starters for the olympians it would be my honor malachi starting a guard tonight a senior guard daniel murphy alongside him will be a sophomore guard ben silva another guard next to him junior guard will reekers and that center a senior tyler boyer and alongside him again will be senior guard ben major that's your starters for the columbus east olympians tonight so zach once again limited crowd it's going to be really important for each team to come out here with a strong momentum so the first few minutes of tonight's game is really i think we're how we're going to see which team's going to come out on top yes for sure each minute or each of the first few minutes of each quarter will decide the tempo especially the first quarter we'll decide what type of identity you're going to have tonight and what type of game it's going to be you can hear coach pierce announcing the starters once again for the olympians we have daniel murphy ben major and it looks like we have three seniors that's what we talked about at the beginning of the broadcast the senior leadership i think is going to be one big key for tonight's game for the olympians yes for sure their leadership is going to have to come up big tonight against a superior team one thing i'm sure the olympians were really shocked and uh most likely as strives uh relief is that their silver creek's go-to player your big d1 commits is not playing so that could help help the olympians big time i think tonight yeah for sure but on the other end of the stick they also have another few more in there in their arsenal along with them so well the main ones out i got a few ones left in the in the in the stable ready to play tonight as we have daniel murphy doing the tip at number 32 cooper jacoby for the dragons as we are underway here in the orange pit as the dragons win the tip and looks like the o's are staying with a man-to-man look as brandon northern has the ball at the top guarded by number 11 ben major passes it off to trey look the olympians manning to switch some of the screens that are being offered here early because number 24 gets in for a nice half and under reverse for the first two points of the game see if the os can get on the board here as will reekers comes to the right hands it off to senior daniel murphy this looks like the silver creek dragons team is very fast and very long yes they have athletic ability all over the court nice wingspans for high school high school age and there's the tip ball and a steal for the dragons right there so east first possession did not end result in any points and i think one big key is we're gonna have to match what they do on the offensive end as that is up and good by number 32 cooper jacoby one of the seniors for this dragons team as vin major takes someone up draws the foul puts him on the line for two that low post game from cooper jacoby is going to be a difficult task tonight for the olympians free throw game for the olympians is also going to have to be big tonight too if they're going to want to stay in this game as ben major's at the line his one is up and off the mark a little long hit the back iron of the rim 650 left to go 4-0 our ball game then majors at the line for a second second one is up and good so one to four is our score [Music] as isaac hinton brings the ball excuse me that is number 24 brandon northern great shot he got up on that shot there yeah showing why he's recruited by many schools across the across the country right now tyler boyer had some great defense had a hand in his face just got up on that one as we have world records trying to get to the rim gets to the right block maybe a slap on the wrist there but a floater by silva off the mark rebounded by jacoby as he pushes the ball off the court he stops and fires a three at the top of the key and zach he is getting off to a hot start yes he is the olympian's got to find an answer for him quickly or else this game is going to be gone early leos need to get a point here as tyler boyer gets blocked and taken away by number 20 isaac hinton great defense by the dragons on that one and a fallon and one he wants to take this game over early malachi and he's showing it right now cooper jacoby he wants his name to be recognized as one of these go-to guys for this dragon's team as he's at the line for a one-on-one excuse me just trying to convert he gets one free throw and good dragons like we said is going to be a key thing to get off to a hot start and that's exactly what the dragons did let's pass it off to boyer boyer gets inside just the length of this dragon's team has been giving these olympians some trouble and that is a great athletic pass tips back to number 20.

isaac hinton for an and one play it's like coach city wants an early time out here for the olympians and they're going to need it they need to talk some things over real quick so just like that 14 to 1 as our score with 5 32 left to go here in the first coach kitty takes a timeout maybe an early wake-up call for this olympians team so they can come back and get a ball game going here yes great job by our cheerleaders cooper jacoby is listed as six seven he's has some length and some height on him he'd be tall in nba numbers he'd be about a forward or a or a bigger guard in the nba now i know sometimes they like to stretch the numbers a little bit to make it a little bit more appealing for colleges but that's pretty accurate mostly about two inches give or take as isaac hinton gets the lucky bounce off the back iron and converts on dn1 as the olympians trying to look for a long three by daniel murphy is good great shot by daniel murphy from beyond the arc maybe that can be the momentum changer for this olympians team as number 24 brandon northern takes that one and gets that one off the glass it's been major crosses over gets the right block and up and good two quick scores for the o's 17-6 momentum starting to roll a little bit for him see if they get something going and that was some great defense and some help by the olympians as they pass it up to dana murphy gets the foul call and puts him at the line for two olympians starting to run a little bit i was one of my keys to the game they're starting to get a little bit going here as silver creek wants to take a timeout get a little bit early try and stop the olympian olympian momentum here after that timeout coach judy mighta got into him a little bit because they came out of that timeout with five quick points right there and a foul call is going to put olympian at the line for two because shitty didn't scream or yell at him i think he just kind of told him what it is he said they came out a little bit a little bit lethargic a little bit and he told him what it is and they need to get it going it looks like he did it worked a little bit as if i was on number 22 tracy cohn put his first and we are all tied with team fouls at two and two as that one is good for the o's once again one of the three seniors in the starting lineup and the second one is up and gets the shooters touch on that one as well off the back iron the o's need a couple stops here and a couple big shots and we have we are right back in it and maybe tying this game up as it into colby comes off a screen a lot of ball screens a lot of pick and roll for the dragons tonight as that one was long and rebounded by silva as he pushed it to dana murphy through the hands and out of bounds [Applause] right idea just a little long yeah that was the bright idea just a little bit wrong they acknowledge each other knowing that it's 24 brandon northern been doing some of the ball handling for this dragon's team as great defense and we have a quick whistle after the steal some team defense showing up for the olympians right now they've gotten a few steals here in the last few possessions brayden northern hurt his second team's third 4-10 left to go so we have our first sub looks like jace burton and for the dragons as 24 brandon northern takes a seat two quick fouls for him maybe don't want to get them in foul trouble and save him for a later part of the game it's been majors passed it off to daniel murphy another long three looked good from here but off the mark in a great effort by will reekers he got up there seemed like it was it was a good effort by will reekers unfortunately that's going out of bounds that was great effort by him though and he did get up that was that was really great hops right there had jacoby six seven senior pass it off to burton as a three ball has taken long and rebounded by to colby and spin move and off the mark and it's going to be east basketball with four excuse me 345 left to go here in the first a couple stops by the olympians on the defensive end yeah the olympians have to gang rebound a little bit kind of gang box out on myers and other players try to get able to take it take trying to try and eliminate some of that height difference a little bit a great pass as we're gonna have a pass by boyar down to major looks like he's gonna get fouled jace burton picks up a foul puts ben major at the line for two he went one-on-one earlier in the first looking to go two and two here and that one is good nine to 17 our score 335 left to go here in the first and he's getting ready for his second and good as we have number 34 julius daly comes in i think if the olympians can keep driving and getting foul calls and get this dragons teams in foul trouble it could be could be an advantage for the olympians i agree they've done a good job driving and kicking so far let's see if they can continue that number 40 looks at a screen doesn't get it a great pump fake back out to 40.

might have took too many steps there looks to me but the ref did not and that is a block foul by number 10 daniel murphy yeah that's that's an unfortunate for daniel it looked like he tried to slide over a little bit he was just a tad bit too late because we have chris bergman in number 23 comes in for daniel murphy chris is another senior on this olympian basketball team do you know how many fouls i was on daniel i think that may have been two right he has two quick ones as it says on the scoreboard as he draws the foul no he did not it was a travel call by cooper jacoby jacoby excuse me and uh olympians will take possession of the basketball got lucky on that one and it will stay down on this end looks like maybe a smaller lineup for the o's as looks like chris and boyer are the big guys as 34 takes a shot and nothing but net that is julius daly nice shot there coming off the bench coming back malachi five point game let's see if they can close this quarter out with three minutes left down low and looks like they're going to triple team him i don't know about that one but that's the right idea there it may have been an unfortunate foul call but that's the right idea that's how you got to play that have the backside guy help off their man and try and get over the top of the big guy that was on 34.

julius daly has 24. brandon northern comes in maybe get one more foul on him before time and he i think has three quick ones as that is quick and money for number 22. trey shane boyer to bergman he takes a three ball and off the mark that shot kind of took the win out of the sales for the olympians right there a big blow for the end of the end of the quarter it's northern looking to pull it out the boyer's been having a big task on this hand tonight guarding cooper jacoby great defense defense there bergman and boyer on that screen northern looks at a ball screen bye to kobe gets it and he's shooting a three and nothing but net that's all you can do just get your hand up and hope he misses as reekers passes it to bergman motions people out there the olympians likes to pass cut and run away as mainly their offenses boyer takes a three could not get that one to fall as northern brings the ball up the court and another three ball taken by the dragons off the mark and a strong rebound by tyler boyer pushes it up too daily gets to the right block jump stops off the mark kind of anticipating northern was going to try to jump in on him try to draw a foul but great defense by the dragons tough shot there and took too many steps on that one so far the refs have been on it tonight malachi they've had some good calls here they've been on top of it i don't think they've missed much if any at all then major back in for the o's 120 left to go here in the first to bergman as chris passed it off and cuts to the opposite side of the court across two bergman he calls for that one a three that would look like it was going in just rattle it out as northern has the ball here for the dragons olympians had a few of those tonight in and out just like that one and kobe again we grab that one and put it back up under a minute to go here in the first maybe olympians might hold it for one last shot we shall see what coach titty tells these boys we're at 30 seconds to go as bergman hands it off to daley a long three is good he made an early jump shot and that three is nothing but net as we have a foul by chris bergman that was a little obvious there zach don't you think yeah he just kind of it's kind of a last resort though just suck his hands in and see if he can get a jump ball team vows five for the olympians four for the dragons 23.4 seconds to go this dragon seems very well coached you can definitely tell these boys have been playing with each other for a while as you can hear their coach telling them one last shot horns they're gonna have two high ball screens to get a pick one side it's gonna be a pick and pop or a pick and roll here see the two guys at the top of the key that's called horns great move a great idea great defense by the o's as we have a foul with 0.5 remaining and will that be enough time for them to get a shot off well it's probably going to have to be either just a heaven or maybe a tip with cooper jacoby's side it's going to be hard i think this conference is going to be just a heave one up and pray really fast as olympians fans looking for that one but not much you can really do with half a second left yeah not much you can do i think that's a good no call there and at the end of two our score silver creek 25 of the olympians 15.

a look at our cheerleaders [Music] me [Music] there we have it our columbus east cheerleaders you can't have basketball without the cheerleaders they do a fantastic job 10-point ball game here it's been kind of back and forth game of runs here tonight yeah for sure the olympians got it to win with got it to within five excuse me and the dragons hit a quick three and then the win kind of came out of them ten point game here as we head into the second quarter let's see if the olympics can kind of cut into this lead before half time as daley's got off to a hot start scoring five points off the bench as that has passed two boyer in the corner two reakers comes off a screen set by boyer an 18-foot jump shot is up and off the mark rebounded by cooper she's pushing the ball too northern back to cooper has done most of the scoring for tonight for the dragons the dragons going left to right and the olympians going right to left into the corner to number 20 pass to kobe and a foul call by the far ref that was something on the other side can call that but it could look like a fat from this angle but i'm surprised it's the ref on the far side on the hhc symbol they're calling that one and puts cooper jacoby at the line four one can he convert the n1 and moneyball is good [Applause] as reekers has the ball pass it to boyer he tries to get to the block and up and over the defender a great move by tyler nice happen under there not sure if the silver creek dragon coach was yelling at his teammates or the rest there as a kickout 4-3 by the dragons is good they're very well three-point shooting team not miss many tonight malcolm as it is to crace bergman a senior for these olympians as it to daily boyer coming off the screen plants his foot passes it back out looks at a step back pass it off to bergman and we have a charge call taken by the dragons that picks up grace i think his second yeah it is a second it says it on the scoreboard right there and it looks like the dragons will be as the scoreboard says in the bonus wondering they didn't shoot theirs didn't shoot the one-on-one there but as that one has stolen away by reekers we have the numbers out to boyer 4-3 good that's the transition offense maokai tyler boyer three is good we have the numbers three on two there reekers found boyer and boyer capitalized on a pass by reekers as can they answer back with the three the dragons off the mark rebounded by boyer pushes it two reakers gets to the middle of the court and up and blocks great stop there by number 20 isaac hinton as jacoby takes his long three and that is good three guys around him still shot it and still made that one this tower's over on malachi hard to stop that transition pull up three from the big guy and we have a blocking foul good take from major there nice strong take it's the and one i believe hayden gardner picks up no excuse me they called it on the floor as chris bergman comes off and daniel murphy comes back in 5 55 left to go here in the second that is two reakers number 34 is a sophomore so he's getting quite a bit of varsity experience here for only a sophomore as that is daniel murphy takes that one up and another charge call i don't know about that one there but hard to tell it looks like a 50-50 call and the dragon's got the benefit of that one good strong take though from murphy that's his third unfortunately he's probably gonna have to sit the rest of the quarter as the ref down on the far end on our end was one he didn't know about that one shook his head a little bit but there's nothing we can do about that we just got to play the next play so 5 40 to go here in the second ref disagree with his other ref partner looks like it's me he looked at coach shitty because coach city seemed upset and he had nothing to say so he just shrugged his head a little bit interesting as allen was taken by northern a strong take there columbus east coach city is fired up now 16 point game with 525 left in the second quarter we'll take a break and form a word from our sponsor columbus auto group why is the columbus auto group the number one destination for your vehicle needs it's the no vulture zone duh our sales staff is 100 non-commissioned which means they are 100 committed to making sure you leave in the right vehicle not the one that pays them the most from sales to service from online tune store at the no vulture zone speed is key our goal is to get you a price payment and an appraisal in 15 minutes not ready to visit the dealership no problem all right we have to cut that a little bit short my apologies as we have to get back to the game action here so we have a late sub number 20.

isaac kenton never mind excuse me he's only coming to the score to say about the thoughts what the wish soul was for i don't yeah i think it was but i don't think he got there in time and the ref had to motion his other ref partner off that it was a late sub and he has to wait to the next dead ball as boyer passed it off two reekers this dragon team does a great job with their defense switching on and off daley takes a long three and short not the best shot there i think we could get those anytime we want to go down the court but i think the dragons want them to take that shot every time as now we have number 20 isaac hinton comes in for brandon northern as the dragons will have the ball out of bounds 4 59 left to go i mean that's all you really got to do hey they literally just they didn't even run a play there they just literally lobbed the ball up to myers and he just took it himself as boyer hits a deep three that was way long it looked like from the volleyball line there and he he's hit a couple of those tonight as jacoby follows his shots and puts that one up for two i think we know that in the second half what coach shooting's going to tell the boys we got to stop number 32.

yeah he's been the big damager tonight there's not much of an answer for him but they're going to do a little bit better as ben major picks up another three two straight makes beyond the arc for the o's it's gonna be hard to get a shootout with the dragons tonight defense for the olympics has got to lock up a little bit better here as he catches and fires right away he is a three bucket tonight malcolm he has not missed many if at all i think i only call one miss tonight and that was a three so there we go a 30 second timeout taking 406 left to go here in the second both teams are scoring quite a bit of points it's just myers has been the x factor tonight for the dragons he's quite unstoppable right now the olympians have no answer for them you guys are doing good it's i mean with the ball movement it's just sometimes you just got to realize the team's either got a couple good players you just gotta you just gotta accept the fact and keep playing i guess and that's what the olympians are doing yeah they're trying their best right now it's hard to go against the d1 guy as tall as he is with no help of yourself with tallness as here we go four minutes to go here in the second silva passed it off two major he ended off back to silva from reakers as he's dribbling to its left spins back to the right in the corner two boyer a three ball and that did not look good once it left his hands and that one was thrown off the head of a dragon and the boyer and the olympians excuse me we'll take the ball back as the ref has a whistle number 30.

zach zach picks up the foul think it's the first time we've seen him tonight number 30. he picks up and both teams are in the bonus until the end of this quarter and that one was short we got to make those free throws yeah one on ones you gotta at least hit the first first front end of that as an 18 foot jump shot is up and good great defense by boyer yeah he was all over him yeah that's good defense there's literally nothing you can do about that just a better better shot as that one is stolen away and it looks like it's going to be olympian basketball jacoby got his hand on it and might have been the last one to touch it i didn't see who touched it last kind of a hard call to see by a ref i but that's as reakers tries to get to its left great defense by the dragons as ben major catches in shoots from beyond the arc ryu long rebounded by boyer and he takes a three and off one thing i've noticed by the dragons they followed their shot very well to keep the possession alive as the o's i think once they get that figured out it's going to be they're going to be a lot better on the offensive end yeah that's good coaching by silver creek i'm sure they practice that every day we have number 20 isaac hinton passes it off to kobe and here we go we have jacoby comes off the screen and off of one foot and off the mark and a one hand tipped by number 20 isaac kenton he sit in the air for a long time on that one to get that one to fall yeah the initial tip almost went in off the olympian hand luckily it didn't and the silver dragons got the second second tip as you can see tyler boyer made that three he's hit quite a bit of those here in the first half yeah i think the olympics got a lean on boyer and major a little bit more he's been there they've been the best players tonight for the olympians that's a high ball screen set by jacoby makes the olympians switch and have a mitch match with jacoby and major but they make a switch there [Music] as we've had the matchup quite a bit tonight jacoby and boyer and he catches and fires a three and off the mark rebounded by silva as he's pushing the ball up the court keeps his eyes up was looking at ben major but did not throw it and he spins kicks it out two reakers he takes a three looks good from here and exactly what happened moneyball is good 140 left to go here in the second leo's trying to make a comeback took advantage of a route of a miss as you left or excuse me the dragons answer right back i'm telling you what each of these teams excuse me each of these players for the dragons can fire the three balls reekers makes the second straight four in a row both sides four threes in a row back to back to back to back i think the olympians are gonna have to go out and pressure them beyond the arc make them as look at that great ball movement by the dragons he fires a three off the mark ends is the streak of four straight made gotta take advantage of another miss from the dragons great idea just threw it a little behind him as number 30 mighty got away with the push and that's exactly what happened nice call there from the ref on our side julius daly takes that foul and we have two subs coming in tonight number zero hayden gardner and 24 braden northern this tells you how deep the dragons are they had a freshman guard starting tonight dreekers passes it off two daily as we are under a minute to go as boyer fires a three and that is good the olympians are kind of getting into rhythm from beyond the ark and that's what's keeping them in this ball game as 30 seconds to go the defense needs to get a stop here if we have enough time left we need to score and going to halftime with the momentum that could be huge for the olympians 20 seconds wondering if ben major will go out and put some pressure on the ball here and he comes out as northern dribbles it back out we're at 15.

who do you think is going to shoot this last one here i don't know why i want to be jacoby but we'll see five seconds up and that's the last thing you needed for the olympians going into halftime was an n1 like that what's four that's points for the dragons and momentum shift for the dragon that's huge right there with four seconds left in the second 4.1 seconds remain here in the second can you convert the n1 and off the mark and jacoby gets the rebound off of it and didn't get the shot off in time so folks there we have it 52 silver creek 38 olympians and we will take a break and get a word home games by both your columbus east olympians and the columbus north bulldogs and with future events going on we're about six minutes away to start the second half and zach what did you think about that first half well it was definitely high scoring both teams had a had a nice range tonight rice nice range going on lots of three pointers lots of inside game the olympians are not gonna be able to afford to have a shootout tonight with the dragons they gotta shorten up their team defense make someone else beat them don't make kobe myers beat you let someone else beat you one thing i noticed each team think it was up to 18 fouls so hopefully the olympians do not get their key players in some foul trouble i think as daniel murphy has kind of got out early in foul trouble so we need to we need to play aggressive but be careful on who we found what we do yeah they're going to shorten up the fouls a little bit chris and daniel got a little bit of foul trouble uh chris i know is he's been known for having foul trouble being a little bit reckless but you get that under control daniel had some unfortunate calls on him but we'll see how the second half goes out let's see he'll be able to manage the fouls on both sides as we got word that cooper jacoby is committed to toledo university to further his academic and athletic career to play basketball yes congratulations to jacoby um i'm sure my school ball state will uh be seeing plenty of him sometimes yeah and number four trey kaufman who is not playing tonight it's another big d1 commit so 2d one commits and that could definitely help you go into making a deep tournament run as i'm sure that silver creek has their eyes set on the state championship yeah those two uh two d ones two d one uh starters will definitely help you but it's about the complimentary pieces they can't all do it by themselves and uh they're comforting pieces around them are good enough i think they'll be able to make a deep state run it all just depends on kobet right now so for the olympians even though the score looks like it's o's are kind of down by a lot they really aren't they just ran into a really good and well coached team i think the olympians are gonna have a great year this year they've looked to show signs of it and if they can keep getting better and practicing they're gonna have a great year i think yeah and then without one of their better pieces jacob pierce and i and i believe also one other one of their better pieces casey bartholomew is not playing i don't know if it's co-related or injury but appears he's not suited up tonight and playing so they're missing two of their better players so that's positive news for the olympians to only be down by 14 to the third ranked state third ranked team in the state tonight i have to agree so we are about 3 30 here and we will take another short break and when we return we will be back with olympian basketball welcome back to the live stream here zach a question just came to my head and i gotta ask you so say if you were a four or five star highly recruited high school basketball player where would you take your talents to to commit and play your four years or maybe a year and go to the nba where would you like to go well that's an interesting question uh obviously i am not a four-star five-star athlete um but that's a good question it depends on the type of sport you want to play you know if it was for football i want to take take my times to a place where i want to play you know i'd probably want to play receiver try and go to a top-tier school lots of recruiting open spots for basketball that's also another good question you kind of want to go to a basketball school you want to go to a school that's prominent for the sport you're going to play so if you want to go to duke and play basketball or if you want to play football you might go to an alabama so it's just kind of depends on the sport you play i gotta go if i was going for football gotta go with i like coach dabo swinney over there at clemson so that'd be my go to and for basketball i would stay home town i mean not hometown but in-state and go to purdue and play for coach matt painter i think he's a very underrated coach in my opinion it's a fair assessment he's got some couple good good receivers over there at purdue with david bell and rhondella moore they're going to be top tier top tier nfl draft prospects coming up in next year colts could use a guy like rondell moore that's for sure now let me ask you this malachi with all the code restrictions i've seen on the benches that they're kind of spread apart and they're like well it looks to be about six feet apart i don't know why they weren't doing that earlier i've sat in those benches before during games i played and they're not very comfortable you're literally squeezed in there about as tight as you can get and that's for the way it is well all basketball players nba college just the way it always has been i don't know why this wasn't a thing earlier it's really uncomfortable i think with this whole clover thing we're going to see a bunch of new things that are going to be in play and maybe that's one of them maybe i think it should stay no matter when kobet's gone hopefully the next next few months with the vaccine rolling out but uh i definitely think it's something that should stay so now it's going to be to each team to come out hot and pick the energy back up they had some dead time here we're about 10 seconds away from the start of the second half and the o's need to get off to a run here and maybe inch back to this lead yes that's for sure the olympia's got to continue some of that momentum when they came out and ran a little bit and got some good boards they were able to get some transition points like we stated in the keys to the game they gotta continue giving the ball to boyer boyer's been the key factor tonight he hits him clipping some threes tonight and the champion's gonna try and find a way to stop jacoby if i have the dragons i would literally give the ball jacoby every time he has not had any reason to not give him the ball right now so on the floor for the olympians we have silva major murphy boyer and reekers so we are just underway that's where they're going immediately to jacoby as they try to get a double team there and the olympians hustle back great switching off by the olympians as he gets the 18-foot jump shot off the mark miss time to jump by daniel and the dragons get the ball back as that one is up and good with those 50-50 balls if you're the olympians two quick points for the dragons as dino murphy takes a three a little long there i would have moved the ball a little bit there to try to get a good shot especially being down here that shot was off the mark and rebounded by the dragons as they take a three five straight points just like that for the dragons not how the olympians need to start at the half looks like the dragons coming out a little bit of half court pressure here as they get through there no problem this dragon seems just so fast and long as we have a wide open silva and that is off the mark two straight threes taken by the o's both off there that's how you beat that press and guess who once again jacoby as it looks like they're going to keep jacoby maybe he's their faster longer guy at that yeah he's on top because of his length he's going to be able to maybe get a couple tip passes and try to get some steals for the dragons a third straight three by the o's as that one is off the mark once again three empty scoreless possessions there by the o's not how you want to start dragons have come out and taking over the second half immediately as there's a foul [Applause] puts brandon northern at the line for two 6 24 left to go here in the third as that one is off the mark maybe that announcer is to our left might have jinxed him a little bit as we can hear him talking about how he didn't miss a free throw yeah that may have been a little bit jinx i also heard a little bit of noise coming from the crowd i'm not sure exactly what it was but it may have thrown him off a little bit he missed his second one we all know how that goes for field goal kickers they always say he hasn't missed one yet and hooks it but as ben major drives his way in and a great strong take there by major to put two points on the board for the o's 40 59 is our score maybe that one was a travel yep it looked like there was and that's exactly what the ref saw as well so olympians will get the ball back after a quick score 606 left to go silva coach shitty wants them to push them off the court as they go to that man-to-man defense to daniel murphy he takes another three he looks at that one and it falls you could tell that was gonna fall he walked away off that after that one yeah we had the angle on that one exactly where we're sitting we could see the angle of the ball going towards the rim it looked good when it left its hand as yo's got another stop and it looks like oh excuse me i thought it was olympian ball but switched the call there so the dragon take the ball out of bounds as northern has the ball at the top maybe coming off the screen to kobe he literally snagged that one really far i mean he's just so long big lengthy arms out there and snagged it as the offensive rebound by number 20 isaac hinton is that one by daniel murphy off the mark rebounded by silver great pass and great job by the o's he snuck behind you kobe on that one and went up on that one that shot's more difficult than what it looked like as an and-one for the dragons and that is northern at the line once again he was just at the line a couple minutes ago and missed both of his free throws i think that's daniel murphy's fourth foul so he will take a seat yes it is julius daly comes in for him as we have a late sub for the dragons number 10 cooper murley and looks who comes off on the floor for the dragons maybe a great sign yeah i think that's his first time coming out tonight maybe not to come back as that one and one is converted 45-64 is our score about five minutes to go here in the third great pass and a great cut and and one is good by tyler boyer put him at the line for one and just like that guess he's coming back into the game oh looks like jacoby's coming right back in not sure what the point of taking him out for about 10 seconds was but obviously there's just that hydration a quick swig of water and he's right back in so your boyer can convert this free throw and gets the shooter's touch the backspin on the ball got that one to fall he converted the n1 there has been major picks him up high on the half court there pass it off to number 10.

back to northern comes off a screen set by jacoby that's such a dane a deadly play right there because you're thinking jacoby's so high in the first he's going to pass it off to him and he just uses that to his advantage and gets to the rack is that one is stolen by northern and stays here boy i'll tell you what northern tonight if it wasn't for meyer if it wasn't for jacoby north may be the reason why dragons would win this game he's been everywhere tonight offensively and defensively hustling around the court is it they get it in two boyer spins back to his left maybe a foul there did not call and they have the numbers here maybe an off the backboard all over that as boyer takes that one off the pass by silva just saw their coach shake his head he knew and a great play by major kept that one alive he threw it behind his back and we have a foul put him at the line for two that was all major right there this is a that was a big momentum shift i can tell the dragon's coach is not happy right now but what just happened that's a big momentum shift for the olympians as bill as major goes to the line here not if i was on well free throws off the mark and this radio guy next to me took the words right out of my mouth he i was gonna say shane has three fouls and northern comes off for the dragons as well i think number 10 if i'm not mistaken was in got a little bit of action for the jv team as he has changed his clothes his uniform is out here for and getting some varsity action how many quarters zach do you know how many they're allowed to have i believe it is i believe it's five a night i could be wrong i know for football it was five per weekend but um i think it might be the same for basketball i'm not sure about that though and that foul is on 34.

his second and team fouls the olympians three the dragons two 51 354 left to go as that one is up and good dragons have been at the free throw line quite a bit here in this ball game yeah olympia's gonna short up their foul troubles a little bit as the second one is up and off the mark strong rebound by boyer see he's pushing the ball off the court as he pulls up a three a little short there and rebounded by hayden gardner number 10 into the corner they take a three off the mark once again follows his shot that's a big thing right there that's a long rebound back to kobe and boyer looks like got a piece of it but stays with it and gets that one to to go in that's just too tall of a task that one a little bit mr kobe is so good at jumping and getting right and gathering himself he does one thing i think it's underrated about him that i've seen tonight he has a really quick second jump and he displayed that there on the other end for that quick two points that puts julius daly at the line for two he's really stepped in and had some key shots and some key minutes here for the 6-2 guard for the olympians he's a sophomore as this one is up and good as we have a brandon northern end for the dragons bergman a fantastic football player 2 3 sport athlete excuse me also runs track starting corner and receiver this year for the olympians malachi as you may know or excuse me last yeah this year excuse me yeah he made some really big plays this season and glad to see him out on the court playing basketball and looking forward to run track with him this year as brandon looks at the screen does not use it once again that screen high ball screen by jacoby is i mean they're playing that thinking he's going to use it by jacoby and brandon's so quick with the dribble and he just blows right by people as major gets that one up and fall he's been doing a great job driving hard tonight and getting his way down there down low yeah like i said the olympia's got to find the ball in the hands of major and bullier more they're their two sparks tonight jacoby takes a three and good one 72 points in the third for the dragons right now olympian's got to find a way to stop somebody last year they did the dragons put up a hundred points twice in a season last year it's kind of crazy a lot for high school basketball that's craze off the mark from beyond the arc jacoby fires a three shorts dragons have been a good job of hustling getting second chance points tonight because there's another one right there olympians got to try and find a way to come up with these 50 50 balls and hustle on the ground a little bit that was made by hayden gardner got ben major to jump on that one as daley takes a three and nobody was inside in the paint to even try to rebound for the o's he shot a three on that one a great pass and that is number 30 zack sticker gets that one to fall and coach shitty calls a timeout and looks upset with the o's [Applause] 1 40 to go here in the third 76 56 our score dragons on top is across town columbus north came up short against the second ranked team in the state so both of these columbus schools getting a hard task here in their first game with north playing the second ranked team and east playing this the third ranked team in the state so just only going to make these boys better for the long run when they get into the tournament that's for sure as we both know north and east are in the same sectional so that'll be an interesting game if they are paired up we have number 12 silva passing into daily as he pulls it back out as chris bergman's looking to drive to his right pulls it out pass it off to silva in the corner two major great pump fake gets in the air an 18-foot jump shot off the mark the great shot just could not get that one to fall as number zero shoots at three looked good from here and off the mark a long rebound three on one we got the numbers as they get it to daily and great hustle by the dragons as major once again gets to the block and gets the foul call puts him at the line for two once again he's done a great job driving in there strong and getting foul calls tonight what you gotta try and do put the refs in a bind make them make the call and that's exactly what ben major did there then major the brother of josh major i'm sure you're quite familiar with him as he led the olympians to a state championship 2017 as that one falls will reeker comes in for senior tyler boyer who had a great first half from beyond the arc he's had a big task tonight trying to guard cooper jacoby the toledo commit as he goes two for two at the line on that trip and northern has the ball it's major picks him up right as soon as he crosses the half court line and chris picks up a foul i think crease is one of the people i would think would they put at him early chris on jacobi earlier in the game chris is pretty fast he's pretty physical and long but he's just a little bit too handsy i think skeleton would have taken advantage of that no box out there by the olympians i'm sure that's what they're going to be working on this week is boxing out too many offensive rebounds by the dragons tonight and many of those resulted in points it's gonna be interesting to see the box score and see how many second chance points the dragons has tonight his fourth i'm wondering if they're gonna have a sub and for him does not look like it 35 seconds to go here in the third as that is a long past two major to daily two reakers to silva he looks at a long three he takes it off the back iron dragons have done a great job when the east is in their half court offense taking away the inside 10 seconds remaining here we go they've had the ball most of the time for the last second shot as northern gets it into the corner three balls good and that's going to end the third quarter 81 points in a game quite a bit of scoring here i mean most of the time 57 is gonna put you right there to win the game it's just this isn't some regular team east playing they're playing the third third ranked team in the state 81 points for them as we head into the fourth quarter the o's have kept playing hard they're not going to quit it's just i'm wondering to see if any of these guys for the silver creek plays any other sports because they seem like they've spent a lot of time together with uh with each other playing practicing maybe they play on some all-star teams together or do some something else because they got a really good team chemistry yeah i know i know my brother he played with um jacoby actually on the same aau team and they went to tennessee a couple summers ago and won a tournament down there so the iae team is one of the better ones in the state so i know that i know that they obviously you could only have for aau teams you could only have three people per high school team on the same aau team so um i think he was the only one on from silver creek on that team but i know there's lots of other good kids from around the state on that team alrighty so we are starting this fourth quarter here eight minutes on the clock 57 81's our score boyer reekers daley bergman and murphy on the courts for the olympians as daily guys the dragons still have jacoby in the game right now it seems to be put away i'm we're going to be wondering whenever they're going to take them out here i'm sure it'll probably be soon we'll see both of the rats call it carry on bergman just the little things for the olympians they're just going to need to fix up as it is the first game of the season you expect those but hopefully they can get those figured out as they go later on in the season with boxing out travels carries just little things like that that hopefully we can get them fixed later on and kicked out to northern 4-3 looks like hit the top of the backboard looks like yeah they called an over-the-top violation they said the ball hit the top of the backboard and came in looks like the ref is going to overturn the other referee's call as that back basket is going to count i think that's a correct call there that's what it looked like it's like coach chad is going to try and argue this but i don't know if he has much of an argument all righty well we're back with basketball after that as bergman takes the corner three off the mark that's the kobe 18 foot jump shot pitch shot for him he hangs in the air quite a bit and gets a forward lean and gets that one to fall as boyer takes it he's going to take it right out of my great spin move left-handed lay-up great move to get that shot off but did not get that one to fall as number zero draws a foul that's picks up another foul for craze fourth foul quite a bit of fouls coming off the bench noticing whippings don't have been major and that's an interesting move if they're gonna have any chances of all getting back to this game you would think they want your better ball handler out there but as that one is very short for the dragons as last year's dragons team they have won three straight sectional championships and won the regional 20 2019 won the semi state in 2019 and state champs in 2019 so silver creek is very well known to making a long state run as last year's was sadly cut short for across the state with covid coming in during that time as a high pass two boy or two reekers he takes a three and moneyball is good nothing but net by will reekers 60 89 a lot of points is scored and that's krase's fifth foul and looks like a subs coming in for birdman major silva come in for the o's all right zach i pulled my calculator out on my phone right now there's a 149 points combined between each team that's quite a bit of points if you ask me well if you can bet on high school sports i don't know what the line would be but if you took the over it's pretty good chance you would have made some money tonight as northern kicks it out passes up on a three back to northern he fires at three maybe trying to draw the foul there but once again not a box out by the olympians as that one is up and good for the dragons that looked like a difficult shot and there's a difficulty right there good up and under i'm sure the o's are going to get the film tonight go over it in the next coming days and they will get these things figured out well they'll have an off day tomorrow with thanksgiving and friday i'm sure they'll be back at it and practice watching film show that'll be the first thing they do right idea just they read that one like a book but his foot was on the line zach take your call are they going to get 200 points tonight if i had to guess yeah probably the way they're scoring right now and if they don't take if they'll take jacoby out i think they'll more than i think they'll definitely get to 100.

well my question is does the scoreboard allow 100 points oh yeah it lots 100 points i've seen it go to 100 points you have i have not some as we have a timeout here by the olympians and once again our columbus east cheerleaders there we have it our columbus east cheerleaders it looks like one of the silver creek coaches has a good old pete carroll and coach reich's face mask with the face shield yeah um i don't know much about them i thought the whole point was to have like your mouth and nose covered i guess it does the face shield but i think i would prefer a mask but i know for comfort wise i know that face shield is better as that one is taken a long pass to murphy she has jacobi on him as reekers gets to the block trump stop and good a great move 5 29 left to go here in the fourth as they get it to the low block and stolen by silva that one was put away by reekers too major and a little hard but boyer was right there to clean that one up and put that one up for two 66-91 holy cow that score court scoreboard operators had his hands busy tonight as that is going to be going the other way for the operators me i had to collect a lot of numbers as that was picked an offensive foul brandon northern five minutes left here i'm still surprised the game the dragons still have north and jacobi even in the game i i don't know why they do their risk injury this game is probably in the bag it's about 99 chance they win this game um the only reason i can see them in is trying to get 100 points trying to run up the score but i don't see why what the point of that is miscommunication there and we're gonna have a jump ball maybe a jump ball possession arrow silver creek gets that one 4 48 left to go here in the fourth feels like this fourth quarter has been kind of a longer quarter than what it's been here with the other three quarters theory that may have crossed my head something that some schools do is to try and boost stats for uh for all conference and stuff like that and myers might be trying to go for mr basketball that might be another reason why he's in they try and boost his stats a little bit esme silva got up on that one as the euro step and one is converted by brandon northern puts him at the line for the n1 ben silva's only six foot but on that one down on the other end he looked like he was about six seven with that tip yeah really athletic play there from silva we're sitting at 93 maybe 94 here and 94 points in total for the dragons as they are now in the bonus through the hands of reekers coach shitty still trying to get these boys to play hard and i don't think they've given up just yet you like to see that from a team just keep playing hard all you can ask in a game like this right now just continue to play hard as northern brings the ball up major picks him up kick out three jacoby and he's been a green light a walking bucket i should put it tonight as daniel murphy takes the 18-foot jump shot off the mark he's playing like tj warren in the nba bubble he's just a man in a different zone right now and that one is up and good five points 99 points here dribbles the ball up the court he looks at a long two and off the mark and here we have it folks we might see a hundred points and northern takes it up and there we have it 101 points holy cow and that one's stolen by jacoby he pulls up a three off the mark and it's going to be east basketball and we have three guys coming in and it looks like jacoby is coming off the floor northern's coming off the court and hayden gardner's coming off the floor so that looks like that's exactly what they were trying to do they're trying to break 100 and then get them out as a coach dragons i'm loading the benches i wonder when the olympics are going to bring in some of the jv guys here as murphy gets that one to fall puffed his chest out a little bit there that was a nice strong take that was on 30 daniel murphy 70 points for the olympians man they've the offense hasn't been a problem tonight it's just been the defense since trying to stop jacoby in northern that one was off the mark yeah i would take my bet if you score 70 points in a high school game you're coming away with the win but silver creek thought differently as number 12 nate dalman comes off the bench and just fires a three as boyer takes that one gets the foul call puts him at the line for two quite a bit of fouls here and both of these halves puts each team in the bonus 256 left to go 70 to 104.
