they have been having some terrific ball movement though they've been having open looks they just can't sink what they need tonight a little bit of a mishap there by parmer up top looking for something there's a spin move by knobby an easy two points sparks back up court for the with the ball ball gets dished down the stainless stanley goes up and in for two points and the chargers being a lot more crisp with their passes tonight then they started as their passes have been picked off quite a bit tonight by the pirates [Music] and there's a foul picked up by reed messer that's his fourth that wouldn't that will be his his fourth team fourth ball inbound to the sparks pirates with the demanding 35 point lead 70-35 just looking to slow down the pace of this game a little bit and wherever there's a shot open they're gonna take it i'm assuming and there's the blocking foul by parmer sparks drove in for the two points and got it and now he has a shot at a three-point attempt here number 25 his first team fifth lane at the line to attempt the three-point play and sparks up and in with that basket 73-35 pirates there's a three-pointer taken by knobby rebounded by comma pirates looking for some more here they're bloodthirsty sparks up and in four-two five minutes left in this final quarter the story of the night has been the pirates all the way as they are up 40 points ball knocked away by cummer fast break cummer drives in gets stripped and fouled and i believe that'll be five for messer and he should be out of the game [Music] checks in for north korea cover at the line for the march here we go comer and an attempt to get two more points for the pirates first one is up and to ten comer second one up and in just under five minutes left here in this uh half in the final half of the game that is chargers swinging the ball moving it around quite nicely right now they can't get much open though as the pirates defense is proving to be one heck of a night here they're having one heck of a night ball getting swung around from player to player here mucker hyde to parmer karma with the ball now parmer over to tielke to uh mucker hide tilkee down low uses a bit of that shoulder but does not get the basket sparks all the way up to come around the corner swinging the ball around there's stanley yep and just off target sparks almost gets the rebound for the pirates [Music] and it appears stringer and pettit are about to check in for the pirates here once there's a break in the game step back by knobby and it's in we go pirates looking for more comer to sparks sparks 4-3 no just off target is good 77-40 and 258 left in the game [Music] here we go back to the action with about three minutes to left to go in the game [Music] should be a quick three minutes you would assume uh with the 37 point game it's never really quick no no not really dyer will be the one bringing the ball up for the pirates as sparks and cummer are both taking their well-deserved breaks pirates just releasing the ball right after it's touched their hands right now skip pass by walters back to dyer stanley to walters walters drives in spins goes up for the two and gets fouled thousand 25 palmer that'll be his second team seventh wolters at the line for greensboro and here we go walters first free-throw attempt it's up and in second attempt for walters up rattles around the rim and here we go the chargers and their last moments here two minutes left in the game just moving the ball around looking for something here uh it's been hard to come by for them tonight though until it's a nice cut by that's not something you want to see by the winning team this late in the game can't complain they've played their hearts out tonight [Music] first shot up no good 78-41 pirates lead pirates of course just trying to hold off a little bit right now they're just going to look for an open shot if they have it an open layup i doubt that we see it the pirates take an open three-pointer oh and there's an open three taken by dyer it's up and down that stretches the pirates lead to 40 points tonight don't foul there you go staying with the rebound dire off target walters with the rebound and it's going to be a jump ball yes a jump ball should remain pirates yes remains pirates possession here we go stringer will inbound the ball for the pirates dishes it back to the top of the key to dire pet it down low goes up with it up and in for pettitte got a minute left to go in the game game winding down here pirates have been the story of this one all day as stringer dies for the ball and there's a charge on the chargers [Applause] dyer sets his feet that's what you need to do [Music] [Applause] here we go clocks winding down chargers not giving up easily though down to 30 seconds pirates gonna hold off on anything it seems or no they're getting open basketball and if you get an open basket like that you've got to take it this late in the game down to five seconds here mucker hide rejected by dyer [Music] 0.6 seconds left pirates 85 chargers 41.

huh oh that's awesome [Music] good to see you here peter and mike thank you for coming we all get the i reached out to the county also to see if they know anyone she didn't need to rely on them to support us a little bit in that transition but she is going to be a tough it's yeah by college's gain and our loss and it's gonna be tough to replace yeah i didn't have to worry about mine none of us had to worry about money with rebecca yeah involved so yeah i think we're ready for meeting to order please um and welcome everyone we're happy you can be here mask it all stand for the pledge of allegiance um mr troll would you please please yes i pledge allegiance to america the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you we would need a motion please to adopt the agenda i'll make a motion to adopt the agenda favor hi thank you all right um item five the curriculum i believe just our one item on the agenda we call the curriculum model um a couple things i wanted to talk about and then um share with you some information and and talk about some um recommendations from different couple different groups um kind of uh to give you an idea of where we were uh before we went to break um we had 50 plus staff members on quarantine or isolation due to close contact to positive cases i mean that was the reason why we um i kind of i closed buildings and sent people home to kind of put it kind of squashed that as best we could right before he was going to break um unfortunately um this past saturday early in the morning we had a staff member a bus driver passed away we did complications from copenh and um so that that is is unfortunate but i think it's an indication of the seriousness of what's happening right now um in your packet there is a this rafted agenda there's information about what's happened in both the county and the state kingdom valley and paulden over the last month um cases in chino valley have more than doubled actually an increase of 141 percent in the past month this is since thanksgiving cases in poland have gone up 80 percent or almost 80 percent in yavapai county this is over since since november 25th the town of the town has of chino valley is called their la closed lobby senior center library the county has closed its offices to the public and in your packet there's also the the benchmark the metrics that the state puts out every every week as of the last metrics published by the arizona department of health services for the week of december 6 all three benchmarks are in the substantial risk range that would indicate um and on the there's also the big that has each county and what their instructional model should look like that would include indicate a they're recommending a virtual model of instruction um i am able to project out what it will be for the next couple of weeks so we can december 13th looks like continued increases at least in cases the week of the 20th is a little it's still early so those numbers are likely to go up but also you got to remember that one of those days was a holiday being christmas and so um the numbers i think are skewed a bit just because of people didn't go to the doctor and didn't get um tested and things like that just because of christmas things weren't open but it's still um projected to be in the substantial risk range on hospitalizations i don't know just because i don't i the data isn't available to me so i can't do that i can just do i could predict um cases and percent positivity so that's any questions on where we were do you know staff numbers right now yeah i mean i know they've not been on break so i know one um staff member that thinks they had it because their spouse did um and and you know lost the sense of smile things like that so one staff number and then you know dr robert was texting me this morning oh god if i knew anyone i just found out i knew of one person that's on quarantine because um of being close contact at christmas time and learned after i had been texting and that there was three additional members or three additional staff members that were on quarantine and that just kind of came to me um we haven't made any requests for information um not that we would get an accurate number coming back to us and also i think it's too early um if you were with people on friday um it might be too early for things to um happen so um that's all i know right now maybe you could share with annie because she didn't hear your story about that golden case that you're wearing sure so i have a staff member that's been in the hospital for almost three weeks was released yesterday it was incredibly safe the mask the whole everything unfortunately fortunately unfortunately whichever way you want to say it her grandson came to live with her and he infected her or brought it with him and he was asymptomatic and did not even know he had it yeah and she's still very sick so um what uh what are you suggesting well it's just a little bit on what kind of the future outlook and i mentioned that we haven't we don't know what's going to happen we just don't know the staff members um i did attend a webinar the 18th on immunization so the county had a webinar it was really no no opportunity really for questions but um they talked about it was focused on indicators and what educators when educators can expect to receive immunizations so um the county has received the moderna vaccine different than the pfizer vaccine in a couple ways first of all it's better for rural areas because it's easier to store you don't need the ultra cold it still needs to be cold but you don't need the super ultra cold like the pfizer needs so it's easier to keep it rural areas um they expect to be able to vaccinate teachers and staff in january sometime um don't know exactly when that that would be the negative part about modern although it's still a good vaccine is that it requires instead of pfizer which is three weeks apart for the two shots it requires four weeks apart 28 days between the two two shots there is some effectiveness after the first shot but the 94 that i think was what mcdonough had measured is not um is measured after the second dose is given and there'd be some time uh the last thing is the county requested that education agencies complete a survey on what the number of of potential people that want to be vaccinated i've submitted that survey so i'm hoping that either this week or early next week we get an idea of a better timeline of when we can vaccinate employees i'd love to do it on a thursday the reason is they say that people feel crummy for a couple of days unlike you might do with a flu shot so if they if we did it on thursday they feel crummy there's no no impact on on work that kind of thing so um the key is we just don't know we didn't know that how bad was going to get after thanksgiving and got really bad um we just don't know what christmas is gonna do to us i think that's the unknown is the impact that christmas is gonna have do you have any information on um how long after the second shot before it actually is at 194 i think it was like 10 days after the first shot so yeah so take some time after that second shot to get to that 94 that's not immediate okay so question i have how many if you have is that how many families have whole kids out of school to do online themselves do you know that so i don't so you're talking so they're not doing the distance learning with us they're just out right um heidi have you know do you know of any families that have done that yeah i would say that i um i'm thinking about 25 just from the high school yeah and brandi what about you um i know about ten that have pulled out but four have come back they tried the k-12 online and said never mind sitting in front of a computer for seven hours a day is ridiculous and they come back to ours and and i have some that have told me they're coming back so those are the i i know of four that are still out and i'm assuming they're still online and that doesn't include all the kinders that just didn't show the beginning right to begin with right so that gives you an idea from the two schools any questions about what i've talked about so far delaney you want to hear recommendations so um blt met the tuesday which would have been something seems like the 15th which was the tuesday before we got out of school and um you know with knowing what we knew then the recommendation from dlt was to come back k-5 hybrid and 6-12 distance learning we would need to do a distribution if that was the case um we would need to do a device distribution and we we gave larry a heads up that that was going to happen so he's been working on it with his staff and the devices would go out that first week to those that's actually six through twelve kids if that's what it looks like um things have only gotten worse since then really um i think there's there's argument to go um k-12 distance funny um would they with the k-5 hybrid would that start on the next week is that when it yes that would start on monday this is what you guys are deciding is what instruction is going to look like on the floor okay and for how long that that is intended to build for okay and i'll have some recommendations on that as well okay um so you know again um part of the problem is we don't know the staff that we'll have it's not on that monday um and either in any case that we will end up having to do a support a student support lab which isn't hasn't been too onerous i think that high school had the most number of kids and what would what did you have at you um i think that the busiest day the last two weeks we had eight kids right and that's probably similar to del rio has just a handful i believe so it's it's manageable um the other thing that i would we would recommend like we did before is that our self-contained special needs classes so our center's classes our edp classes and for those kiddos that need it in the extended resource and that would be a conversation with the parents that they would come the four days a week no matter what does the um no matter what the model is in addition i think we also talked about the elf kids at the high school being in that same boat just because you know everyone needs it i don't want it i don't want to say that that um no one needs to be employed everyone needs to be in school these are kids that are the most at risk that we're trying to service would transportation be provided for them we uh because they're special needs um we are required to provide transportation no matter what so those kiddos um would have transportation to give them here at home um no matter what what happened just because we're required to as as part of their typically that i wanted to kind of have cindy share with you she met with the instructional coaches and kind of share with her what you guys started conversation with the teaching leaders of the district so i met with the instructional coaches via a zoom luncheon the last week before i went to break out their staff had already been sent home during that week on the wednesday and um their feeling was that we need oh like unanimously they felt like we needed to do at-home learning for the first two weeks of the semester um they were basing that on several factors one was community spread one was you don't um the first two weeks after break if people have done things this week new year's eve things like that that you need to give it the 14 days to run its course to let that run its course and they felt that the staff was ready to do that i know k5 they made accommodations both carol and brandy have talked on the monday and brian can tell you more about preparing in case we couldn't come back at least the first week with kids and what they were prepared to do um and so overwhelmingly though and the reason why it matters what what do the instructional coaches think because i talked to them about because they asked what you know what were the models that the administrators had recommended we talked about the k5 hybrid and the online model and the reason i i asked them what do you guys think because they have their finger on the pulse of the staff in a different way than the administrators do like and i'm not saying that staff wouldn't you know intentionally keep things from their administrative staff but when they're dealing with somebody they see more as a peer then they're probably going to be more open so when they had talked to teachers they could talk to parents and the feeling was that it and it was a really valid point we have we would have no idea literally until the night before or the morning of our return how many staff members couldn't come which is a very valid point as it turns out we could have uh very few bus drivers available that's one place where we've been particularly hard hit there's been some pockets in the community since i talked to the instructional coaches what they had sort of anticipated seems to be coming true in pockets in our community that there have been areas where they're like organizations churches you know groups whatever where lots of people in that environment have caught it quite a few of those people are school employees and so they don't know how that's going to kind of play out and they felt like if we gave staff that that time and stayed out at least a week and overwhelmingly i thought the most interesting and helpful thing that came from the instructional coaches was please don't make everybody pivot on a dime again it's killing the teaching staff when we make a decision and say you have three days to blah blah switch up your instructional model even though they feel like they've become far more acquainted with using the distance learning equipment everybody has the equipment they all have tablet all the tg staff have their tablets they all have their tripods for their tablets and all that they feel like people need they need a week to pivot so whenever we decide that they need that weak buffer before we switch instructional models again i thought that was a pretty valid point because i asked them overwhelmingly what's stressing out staff the most um one is they don't know from day to day whether they're gonna get sick or you know that kind of thing but the secondary thing was the staff felt like um having to make changes constantly with little notice was probably the most stressful that they came to work every day wondering okay well today what you know what's it gonna bring or what's it gonna be and it sort of turned out that that last week before break ended up being pretty indicative of that when we had so many people on monday who couldn't come to work john made the decision which was a great decision just to except for skeletal crews for everybody else just to go home and finish it out to try to keep that spread under control so it's very very hard to know we were talking this morning about our staff has if you look at numbers community-wide percent community-wide since copenhagen started our staff is actually disproportionately higher with active cases among our staff and it appears to be that's becoming significantly higher um our staff member who perished over the weekend was in an environment where lots of our other staff members are in a community setting and those people have also contracted it or are waiting on test results so those are some things that when you look at for whatever reason we all know that it doesn't appear that the kids are necessarily contracting or contracting in a dangerous manner although our vulnerable children are our our kids have been seriously ill have been our you know kids from centers um but it appears that it's that for whatever reason it's disproportionately spreading among our staff much at a much higher rate than the community so those are some things that that we have talked about and then just sort of the information we received in the last week since then has kind of worn out their concerns so they were give us a week to regroup we really think that it's a good idea to stay out the first two weeks of new distance we feel like the teachers are ready for that every administrator was clear with their staff that you need to be ready for any scenario i know heidi i know julie i know brandi and carolyn all told their staff listen these are the possibilities prepared i talked to carolyn just before we came in her staff made packets at least for the first week they have plans for things to do um so that's where we are then i thought it was all john i were talking it's all bits and pieces of like a big puzzle that you guys kind of have to put together and decide what's the picture and what's the outlook hard part is you don't have a box to look at to put it together can i share something can i share something do you mind i i just wanted to say that i've been in communication with some of the special needs parents especially the center's parents and there are a few of them that have said that they would um like to keep their kids home for two weeks even though they're in centers if that option was for them to be in class they want to still keep them home because they're more medically fragile and so they wanted to have some sort of little options for them for those two weeks so i just wanted to share that with you as well because they wanted for it to run the course for the two weeks before the end to see how the staffing would be before they put their kids back in school so i just wanted to tell you that piece also how many parents did you hear from i've heard from three different families okay and then we had a couple of sinners kids get sick yes one of our centers kids was in icu but he is okay now he is he's he's doing good good good and cindy mentioned this but after you and i talked this morning penny i got an email from chris walton our transportation director right now we have eight bus drivers that are either positive or are waiting waiting results so one of the things is if we did go in person our we would have to focus on special needs routes just because that's that's our main focus we cannot guarantee to get people to school and if we were in school the two weeks that we that we were disconcerting we would have to cancel transportation again just because of the number of of close contacts and things like that that was going on which really isn't that big i mean people can get their kids to school some people can there's a lot of people that cannot get their kids to school and rely on us and it would it would significantly um hinder enrollment and things like that about two-thirds of our kids rely on our transportation it's a pretty significant number so what i think i'm hearing is that you're recommending maybe starts start class on the 18th of january which is martin luther king waiting two weeks until the 19th is that what i'm hearing well it would be distance learning so we would start on the fourth with the distance learning 5 hybrid well that's that's one of the options it's the two the two options would be k12 distance learning or k5 hybrid 612 distance line um that recommendation with the hybrid part was made two weeks ago before things continue to get worse and worse um so if it was distance learning there would be k-12 distance learning um and then there's a meeting on the 11th um a board meeting on the 11th um we'd have two new board members you'd be off the hook um and then a decision can be made at that point but again it would be important that we give them through the next tuesday which is the did you say the 19th because that's the that monday is the holiday is martin luther king day so there is no school that day and andy's question i think penny you asked it as well about do we have information about how many staff members may have be quarantining right now or who have an active case because we're not in session and they're not compelled to tell us we can't there's like not a good way to gather the data but um by that by returning even distance it gives us the opportunity to collect effective data to make better recommendations to you on the 11th even we have we have another piece to go on okay i think i'd like to hear uh it's a good time to hear some opinions from mike and um mr otona pete here my wife and i follow this because we're at a very vulnerable age so it's pretty important for us i am we've been following the same numbers and i'm worried silly about not only christmas but new year's i don't see us the curve dropping off until we late this spring when we hopefully will get some herd immunity for the mass inoculations even though personally i'm a real believer in person to person particularly for the younger grades instruction right now i would say everything we can do to keep the kids at home uh we need to we need to do uh whatever support we need to give them on distance learning we need to do we've gotta minimize the danger to our staff and our kids so yeah i personally and i hate to say it because i 180 degrees from what i would have been three months ago uh saying we've got to go full distance learning as soon as we can thank you i would concur with everything peter has said um the one other thing that concerns me is uh always is the quality of education that we're able to provide at the same time which is a huge challenge and i'm hoping that our administrators and staff are continually thinking about you know how best to deliver as high quality education as possible during these um challenging times and i'm hoping that they're doing that aggressively and constantly okay thank you anybody have any questions i have a question for brandy so you're over territorial what is the feeling of you guys doing hybrid because i know the teachers don't really like the hybrid model so i did actually i had a staff meeting a virtual one and talked to all of them and said to send me their concerns if where they're at they would love for of course copper to be gone and they could just have their kids back north um most of them went with the hybrid model because that way at least they can get their hands on them and work with them a little bit and then send them home we talked about they did ask for a couple of different things to do all morning and then all afternoon that doesn't work necessarily the cleaning and the flipping of the classes because we all went into this to work with kids we want our kids we want to make sure they're getting it and it is hard to do the online i mean it's killing our little guys to be to do the online um but it to minimize and to cut down they're worried i have some that are former have underlying conditions and they're like i don't know if this is going to be the breaking point for me so they're they're they're all over the place they want kids back they want it safe so they did unanimously for the most part um i don't want to speak unanimously vote that they would bring them back hybrid if the numbers didn't increase they're very concerned that they're all naked and that was their but they want to bring them back as soon as they can in hybrid in a safe for all of them i can tell you territorial was a school that was hit so we could not have operated if we wouldn't have went into the distance learning before before i would have had more snap out than staff at school so it was that we were very blessed that you guys made the decision you did at that time and that doesn't mean that they had coveted wouldn't get it now if they were back in school so it's not like they have an immunity because they had it they were a lot of those were close contacts a lot of close contacts some were months yeah it was it was really i kept thinking okay enough enough but i was glad i did not have to inform families and tell them your kids have to be quarantined now and due to exposure in school right so but the staff does want them back hybrid as soon as as soon as it's safe if that's the bare minimum and that's the unknown yeah i think like my biggest concern obviously which has been from the get-go is just the education that our children are getting that i see it firsthand with three different kids in this district after our last board meeting i spoke to my 16 year old who informed me that a friend of his that he goes to school here at high school couldn't get his head above water with that you know going from distant learning to the hybrid schedule and he dropped out of school and i am so afraid we're going to see a lot more of that and i don't want that to happen where there's no reason that a kid should be punished because i mean that that's why i look at it as a punishment because it's a lack of you know some somebody should do something i've even had i i had one teacher in our district email me that said hey if you know of anybody that needs extra help i'm willing to help online or whatever i can do one teacher reached out to me and said if you know anybody they said i don't even care if they have a school here i'm willing to help in any way i can i just for our kids education that's the thing that's concerned i mean of course i'm concerned about their their well-being and their safety too but when you look at the numbers of it you know we had the lady on the phone that's was the health director and she said the recovery rate for kindergarten and i get that we're looking at our teachers and our substitutes but we have got to get these kids back in school so i agree with everything emmy said and you know back in october i made it very clear that my child was struggling a hundred percent i want to move forward though and let you know that 90 of that was his fault you know i think we all were looking at a blame that the teachers weren't doing their jobs the administrators weren't on top of the teachers that we have failed our kids our kids need to take some responsibility our parents need to take some responsibility those of us that see those children struggling we need to stand up we need to speak up we need to help them just as much because they may not have the parental support with that being said of course they need to be in school but they need to take some responsibility if we have some distance learning yeah well said i mean i think that you know there's a two-thirds just you know rely on transportation but everyone's 100 relying on the education of their children you know and that that's where i i i i watch this with my own children and honestly i feel i feel bad for them i mean not to to be completely honest jackson's math i can't help him with his junior high with his he's a junior high spot i can't help him i can't help mack with his channel either he reached out to the teacher and he didn't get full support i understand taking responsibility but there's kids that are really struggling with learning how the aunt with the distance line [Music] so if we were to on monday go back we don't have enough bus drivers as of today to cover their all routes that is correct okay that is correct and even just the hybrid correct still the same number of routes right and then we we have no idea about teachers correct and subs and pairs right it's a it's unfortunate that we had two weeks break to be honest yeah um because it just adds a um so many unknowns right with the family gatherings that are during that time um along with we don't have the staff kind of survey them accurately to know who's doing what and you know i'm not as worried with with new year's but there's going to be a lot of gathering of new year and that's uh three days before before we were back in school right and so we don't know you know really we won't even know on that on that monday how new years is going to impact any kind of on potential cases that pop up and we won't know enough either on july on january 11 i mean right well no more no more but not because that'll be you know that'll be a week and a half um they have changed the quarantine rules um it's now 10 days it was 14 it's down to 10.

it actually didn't get down to i think seven if you um with a negative test after day five right so the quarantine time so they're thinking that things happen a little bit quicker than they did initially um so that's that's a good thing um and so but at the same time it's the timing just is horrible um with things going on right now right but uh a lot of people that i've known i mean i know that not everybody's different but i know a lot of people that are taking precaution like i know families that didn't gather over christmas or haven't gathered to stay safe and i feel like there's a majority of people that that's what they're doing so that they can again i don't know i'm just saying for the people that i know a lot of people are pretty much quarantined you know on their own you know and not celebrating christmas with their families and not done stuff so that they can so that this can pass i could tell you i went into the circle cave today got an ice tea the employees were wearing their masks under their nose and i there was maybe 10 people in there and maybe four warren and so there was a majority of people and that were not wearing masks at that circle um you know i go get a tee pretty much every day i wear my mask and that's that's pretty typical not just in chino i think that's you know that's typical all over um in the area oh just talking to patients this morning so we got together with family some didn't they and it's all over the world there's no precise concise way to do things and the way people are thinking is it's just family and i realize this doesn't necessarily impact chino valley but yesterday they had more air passengers since the beginning of cobit there's 1.7 million or something obviously we did not have 1.7 million air passengers in chino valley but you know it's a very large number that people were not being necessarily they did not stay home right john you probably didn't see it yet but we just received an email from another staff member that they have coded and um they have a spouse in the district also so that's two yeah and i just got a text from one of the special ed teachers that her and two paras were directly exposed by a family member at christmas so they're waiting to see if they have it and that's some of the four that i talked about earlier okay that's beautiful not extra yeah yeah we talked i don't know if there's anyone outside that's wanting to any public um can you can someone call glenn is glenn right there no one came okay i just wanted to make sure that that was the case yeah we didn't have anyone that wanted to well i think we're at a place now where someone we are going to need a motion so what are our options matt has a question i think well i just wanted to point out yeah we don't have anybody here we currently have 118 that are viewing this live right now and uh a dozen or so comments that are fairly mixed thank you so people are people are paying attention to what what's going on bye thank you i mean i don't know i kind of look at let me tell you another perspective that i look at and take it what you will i look at it is if we're going back in session and press kit and press the valley then we have uh step up by having the substitutes that they normally would have like that that's a logical question right potentially yes now i had heard and i don't know i thought that combo k5 was going to go i don't know if that's the case or not oh i haven't heard for sure i know press kit is is um k12 is going to be distance left until at least through um martin luther king day okay and we don't know if subs are marking themselves out in the system or not yeah i'm just saying that that's something that we need to take into consideration and one of the other things i think has always been something is that you know it is our job i get it that we need to make sure everybody's safe but it's also our job to make sure that our children are educated and i know we can't predict what's going to happen and we didn't predict that we'd still be here after our tough decisions we made last march but i i don't know i just i i'm forgetting kids back in school and i think we have a couple things on our side and one of them is the fact that if you know we need subs that right now we won't have to fight for them because no other schools are in session can i respond sure yeah you know i you know and i completely agree with you um everything that we've done every decision that we've made has been how do we get kids back in school safely um and every decision that we've made always has had that educational part to it how can we educate our kids um i don't know if we can educate our kids if we have substitutes in the classroom it's not the same just because you know if we have some if we have subs available and we put them in there they're they're not learning that the teacher's not in there and so um you know i i under completely understand and agree with everything that you're saying um but every decision has had that component as part of of the decision we need to educate kids and i've said all along our kids learn better and our teachers teach better when the kids are in school and the teachers can teach face-to-face that's number one that's the ideal but it's not ideal and this is this is no one's fault this is this is how it is worldwide it's not it's not a it's not centered in chino it's not centered in arizona it's not centered in the united states this is how it is worldwide and we're just dealing with the best that we can with the situation that we're given and unfortunately it's probably not safe to have staff in in in school and or kids and and i but you know i agree we need to have kids in class um and and to to another point um we didn't do a great job in march when we went to business ring we have learned a lot um between now and then we've learned a lot in the last four months since august or five months so that the education that a student gets distance learning now is completely different than they got in march or even in august people may not like it kids are going to scrub it um but it is better than it was at those times and it's not ideal for certain definitely not ideal not where we want to be well i personally think my opinion is that maybe we should continue to distance learn until january 19 and at that time go to hybrid k through five well and you may be able to just kind of go through the 19th and then make a decision on the 11th that's true too like what you you know you'll have more information i was wondering if the 11th would have enough information i i think that we'll have a week's worth of where our staff is at but even on the 11th but then we still want to try to give our teachers and support staff the one-week notice right and they would have a week okay because they wouldn't come to school until the next tuesday okay right all right i would like to see casey 5 start next week at the hybrid schedule if we're going to distance fundraising 6-12 i say we keep k-05 the teachers want their kids back they're obviously the kids need to be better i'd say we do k through 5 hybrid next week continue distance learning through 6 through 12 and we evaluated on the 11th income every shoot for everybody being in school on january 19th what do we do about bus drivers under that circumstances bus drivers from surrounding areas they don't know the routes they don't know routes and they're not our employees i can't guarantee that we have anything available um any extra employees available on the extra bus drivers and right now we don't know k through five teachers situations right now correct hey brandi when did you have your last i was just gonna say just to clarify when i had that meeting it was when staff was still there in person so um let me look up this first email date december 10th is when i got the first email so it was way back okay when i so it must have been then maybe it was december 10th i'm not 100 sure because this was at 1 30.

so it was back when and they did say you know they want kids back but the numbers in the red all areas are very alarming to them and that's a concern okay but they i mean they don't want it out there that they don't want kids back they absolutely 100 want to give back when it's safe i know i asked this at the last meeting i'm going to ask again just to clarify for those watching the benchmarks in the red are not something we just willy-nilly pulled out and said these are what we want to achieve they have been given to us by the state of arizona correct yes the arizona department of health services are the ones that collect the data the data comes from different testing labs and physicians and the counties all funnel their information into the arizona department health services they publish the data um there's two places to look for so if you go to azdhs.gov gov there's a data dashboard that you can just click on that home page and it'll take you to any the data dashboard there's a little map of arizona if you scroll down you click on yellowkind it'll give you the yellow type specific information for cases for for uh the percent positivity is the two that i look for uh there is something about hospitalizations but it doesn't correlate to what the benchmarks are so all that information is on there if you go to the home page every thursday at nine o'clock they have a schools button that they you connect on or click on and that's the information that has the the actual benchmark numbers that are issued every thursday at night and i guess just to be clear what i was looking for is the green the yellow the red which are you know in person hybrid or virtual those are recommended by the state of arizona correct those are recommendations based on their expertises in the red significantly so we're not even close okay um to be in the red i think it was 100 cases per 100 000 and the last number was over 500 so it was five times that on benchmark could we go to the um complete distant learning where will the teachers be are they gonna be teaching from home are they gonna be teaching from their classrooms um we had talked about that this morning and really i'm thinking that at least for the first week is probably best that they're at home um and then the second week they come back in like we have we we until and that's kind of like what happened in reverse when we went to distance lane last time is we kept them on campus until things kind of got in the community out of control and things got worse and we sent them home here we're hoping that if we if they're home we can't know who who is close contact who may test positive and then bring them back onto campus the second week for that accountability portion so that's that's just i haven't talked to any principals about that that's new to them um literally it was cindy and i discussing this this morning um but that's kind of just an off-the-cuff plan that we had talked about what is the i don't even know if we know this number but it seems to me that the younger grade levels the transportation their parents seem to bring them more often do you find that that's true randy what's your turn like how many people rely on the bus is at two thirds at your school we have the majority the majority come in and buses um i have some that are huge buses and some that are small buses um and it depends sometimes i have more that drop off in the morning because it's easy when they're on their way to work but then they ride the buses home so it's but the majority still ride the buses and that's true uh what randy said is true for all of us that kids seem to get dropped off in the are get dropped off in the morning because it's somebody can get them at 7 30 on their way to work at eight so we have a lighter load in the a.m than we do in the pm across the world that's not just territorial that's the way it is for everybody high school probably has the lowest percent that ride crosses kids drive yeah yeah i think ready for a motion i don't even know what to me let me try to see what all think i would make a motion that starting january 4th k through 12 would be distance learning until january 19th we will readdress it on january 11th to determine what the next little bit not even the same quarter or the semester the next little bit might look like with the exception of centers i'm getting this right call centers um edp edp in some resources extended resource extended resources and then also our high school eol correct okay [Music] okay let me clarify it so what about preschool would that be distance if preschool i mean if we're distance then if k-12 is distance preschool would be distance and if we come back hybrid then preschool would come back higher so it would be it would be distance pre-k 12 right okay did you get that suzanne yes thank you thank you very much that's a very hard decision um it's ready to return then right just we'll get together again on the 11th um for those on on tv or on on youtube it will have the same situation where it can be watched through watch virtually so you know what's going on but um and then we'll have two new board members yes thank you very much dr robert for all your service yes thank you thank you all thank you matt thank you larry why are we still on that door yeah for those on that we'll be um giving out information about device distribution um we'll get it out as soon as we can but it's likely going to be the first week that we are um so the week of the fourth there'll be some kind of device distribution um and information will be forthcoming thank you matt yep thank you thank you all i i don't know what to say because we well we all want the kids

good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the bcsc live stream here on bcsc youtube channel we want to thank you guys for joining here for this unusual tip-off time here at 2 30 but we are excited that we are able to bring back boys high school basketball tonight i have zach and colin with me zach how are you doing this afternoon i'm doing pretty good i'm doing pretty good i'm glad to be back called the girls game last night ready to call the guys this afternoon yeah well we have an unusual opponent here columbus east is taking on evansville central i don't can't remember the last time we played evansville or a team out of evansville i should say but evansville central is coming into this game with a 2-2 record and 1-0 in their conference play the bears have won against conference opponent vincent lincoln with a score being 64-62 and indianapolis metro with a score being 72-53 their two losses happen to terre haute north and terre haute south zak all but one game has been close for the bears their week one was they lost by five in their second game they ended up winning by two they lost by ten in their last game so zach how do these close games and the start of the season help with finishing out the season well it sounds like they definitely play each opponent tough they there's no really wiggle room for air and so that really helps you down later in the season to figure out who your closer is and whether or not you're able to close out a game efficiently and effectively evansville central is two hours and 45 minutes away so zach how important is it to travel and end up starting the game very well here well they got to be able to come off the come off the bus and have energy they got to bring their own energy obviously there's not as many people as you would want in a gym at a time like this but they got to be able to bring their own energy there might be a little cramped little tired from sitting on that crowded bus but again they just got to come out and play play the way they want and have their own energy well the bears teams uh they average 60 points 23.8 rebounds 11.5 assists and eight steals so zach on paper this bears team looks like a very good well coached and well rounded team it should be a good one we have tonight here in the orange pit i agree definitely should be a good game well we'll transition over to the home team the columbus east olympians they've really gotten off to not a great start as they are still winless and looking for their first one of the season but zach we've seen a lot of bright spots such as scoring scoring really hasn't been the problem but personally what do you think's been the problem for this olympian well at the end of games they just seem to not be the team they were the first first three quarters they just seem to go cold in the fourth quarter their defense isn't as strong and they just lose their offensive identity i think if they figure out who their closer is and that they just focus a little bit better in the fourth quarter i feel like they'll be able to pull out the game that they that they should have won but instead they have an l in the in the column one thing we mentioned that evansville central they have to get off the bus get their minds out and most importantly be ready to come out and play with that zach how can that and be a favor to us in tonight's matchup well like you said they just came off a two-hour 45-minute bus ride that's a long haul so if i was east i would try and see whether or not they're they're awake and they'll try and run them try and run them in transition try and run them with some quick game stuff so we'll see if we'll see if the bears are awake coming off that coming off that long bus ride this basketball team is led by several seniors such as tyler boyer jacob pierce and daniel murphy and as a team they are averaging 72.3 points per game and zach to me that's quite a bit of points for high school basketball it is good 72 points is definitely above average for the amount of points you should score in a high school basketball game and they are averaging 24 rebounds 16.3 assists and shooting 47 percent on the season so zach we have just uh over a minute to go but i'll send it over to you and to do your report on which each of these teams do tonight to come away with the victory well i'm watching the warm-ups here first time really seeing evansville bears here and they appear to be all about the same same height give or take two or three inches now the roster risks them as about some of them a six four six three i don't i'm not sure about that you know sometimes they juice them for juice them for college and recruiting purposes but that may be accurate but again they don't really have anybody that towers towers over people they're kind of all within the six foot range so so that's good to see for east um definitely i think they should get the ball into their players hands their best scoring and playmakers hands and that's pearson boyer and murphy have them handle the ball and try to do the best they can to get the ball in the basket and facilitate for others well i know one thing the boys at least for the columbus olympians they have been well i left the weight room around noon and they were still they half of the team was here shooting around so i'm sure that these boys are ready to go and ready to get that w and their winning column here so we're underneath a minute to go here before tip-off and i will send it over to dennis pierce for the national anthem and starting lineups [Music] good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the orange pits here on the campus of columbus east high school and the home of olympian basketball as this afternoon we proudly present an ihsaa high school regular season contest between the olympians of columbus east high school and the visiting mayors of evansville central high school and now ladies and gentlemen at this time we ask that you please stand the privilege of this game was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms we enjoy let us honor and respect their efforts in our country by gentlemen removing their caps and everyone standing in attention placing their hands over their hearts as we proudly play our national anthem [Music] thank you and now i'd like to introduce your starters for our visitors this evening the evansville central bears at guard 863 sophomore number 10 blake curtis london morris and forward a 6-4 sophomore number 23 brady kayo and ford a 6-3 senior number 24 kaden byrd the head coach for the bears rodney walker and that is your heavens [Music] [Applause] daniel murphy mccarthy six foot sophomore number 12 ben silva at guardian 510 junior number 23 will breakers and guard a 6-1 senior number 31 jacob pierce and 46-3 senior number 33 well there we have it ladies and gentlemen the starting lineups that is my apologies on [Applause] the roster there looks like ben major isn't not in uniform tonight so that is a loss for this olympian basketball team but eight minutes is on the clock and we are ready for tip-off here in the orange pit we want to thank our sponsors columbus auto group and forest construction for sponsoring these live streams we want to thank you guys for tuning in if you would please do us a favor and like and subscribe to the bcsc youtube channel we would greatly appreciate it so here we go daniel murphy doing the tip for columbus east and number 23 brady cato doing the tip for the bears and here we have it 2 30 tip off here in the orange pit and the bears win the tip here let's see what we're going to see here tonight from the bears offensively looks like a man-to-man look for the olympians here a lot of pass and cuts seems like there's zach for the bears yes it looks like a type of weave offense so far for the bears a long three taken by the bears and up and good number 10 blake herndoz heard this excuse me with the basket that is their sophomore great player there stat wise as that shot is missed and he blake does get the rebound gets inside kicks it out for the three hesitates pulls it back out 7-10 remaining to go here in the first quarter two hours in 45-minute drive for evansville central and they are look wide awake here zach what's your take has a long threes taken and once again and off the mark and an offensive rebound we saw that last night in the first half for girls offensive rebounds was the key factor there as another three's taken up and good for evansville central cayden byrd with the three east has got to get out of the shooters a lot quicker and close out a lot faster in order for them to be successful tonight that's tyler boyer's threes off in no good 6 25 remaining to go another three up and another three is good for this bears team i think they're definitely awake i agree i think all they've taken is three-point shots tonight so far east is the one who looks who looks tired to open up this game and they haven't played in over two weeks this could be a little bit what we saw last night the hiatus of of being a quarantine for that long sometimes you just come out a little bit of rusted and flat and i think that's what east has come out with again here this afternoon let's see what's gonna happen here another three point shot or i think after a bucket here we might see a timeout taken the last shot was missed by reekers and a turnover committed by the bears 5 43 remaining to go here in the first quarter reekers pushes the ball up to murphy cross court to pierce gets inside baseline jump shot up and nothing but net for the first points tonight belongs to jacob pierce a nice ball fake coming a nice pump that coming off the coming off the swing pass and a pump fake fake the pass and a good 10 foot jump shot there as another threes taken up and off the mark maybe a heat check there an offensive rebound for number 14 london morris two offensive rebounds he's had and it's resulted in second chance points as boyer dribbles to his left passes it off to pierce down low to tyler boyer shot us up and good two points for tyler boyer and the olympians so laid down the pre-game plan the only two two scorers tonight for east so far pearson boyer i think that's the recipe for success tonight they got to do that almost every possession to have a chance and a turnover committed by the bears as silva's bringing the ball down the court he pulls it back out across to murphy he gets inside and we're gonna have a hold a foul committed by the bears we're gonna have our first sub tonight senior casey bartholomew olympians have been out rebounded here so far let's see if casey is gonna be able to do what his specialty is and that size and rebounding so the first foul committed goes to evansville as it's down low inside to casey and does not get the shot to fall and a strong rebound by 23 brady cato for this bears basketball team and great help there and a stolen by tyler boyer two one one two on three excuse me fast break tyler boyer's shot is up and no good warrior looked like he was gonna be expecting contact there he kind of kind of hesitated a little bit i was definitely thinking he was going to get hit too obviously didn't risk that and that worked out for the bears there 408 on the clock olympians 4 evansville central 11.

he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] a [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] this piing me up hello hello hello [Music] hello test test test test [Music] test test test oh I I got it a little bit [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] yeah what [Music] good evening everybody Welcome to Greensburg high school for this ihsaa basketball event between the visiting Fishers tigers and your Greensburg Pirates this is coach Jason Simpson joined by the man himself Mr Grant Peters getting ready to bring you some exciting high school basketball action Grant you don't get to say this much in today's day and age but this is actually the first time that these two schools have met on the hardwood and I think we're in for a good one absolutely I think they I think this this will be a really good matchup I I think the Pirates have shown that they're really strong but In fairness I'm not sure about their strength of schedule as far I think fers is going to prove to be a valuable opponent W it's interesting you say that fisers comes in with a 2-2 record they got the season off to a 2-0 start starting back on November 24th they were able to beat Ben Davis 75 to 49 then Muny Central came to town they came away fisers came away with a 95- 52 Victory their next two opponents Noblesville and shann andoa were postponed they didn't come back until December 18th when they hosted Hamilton Southeastern Hamilton of South Eastern was able to get the best of fishers with a 65- 51 Victory and then the game that everybody was talking about on December 22nd fisers traveled to number one Lawrence North and unfortunately for fisers they made Sports Center for all the wrong reasons they basically had Lawrence North beat on their home floor Lawrence North got a steal and thre one in from about half court banked it in made Sports Center's top 10 plays and then were able to go on and defeat Fishers in overtime 65 to 60 so they come in at 2 and two but like you said Grant they're rated number 16 in the Sagarin ratings and the Sagarin rating rates every school not just your class and strength of schedule and they come in with the 24th rated strength of schedule in all of Indiana yeah when they play in the metro area of Indianapolis they're going to see a quality opponent week in and week out you know I don't know if you saw the Highlight from the loss against Lawrence North but they had Lawrence North beat absolutely beat and Lawrence North made a couple plays made a couple threes and forced it into overtime and um too bad for Fishers but uh they that was a really quality opponent and I think fisers will put on a good show here tonight for the Pirates now not knowing their roster very well it is interesting to see because you're on the road at the number one team in the state so you can see maybe some nerves set in at the end of the game it's a game you think you've got one you're going to beat a quality opponent on the road but when you look up and down their roster they only play two seniors and it's led by a core of Juniors they they play actually five juniors in a sophomore to go along with two seniors so you're actually looking at a fairly young roster and they're LED in scoring by Jeffrey Simmons he's a junior he comes in averaging 16.3 points per game another Junior Bryce Williams comes in averaging 13 and and then a third junior Charlie Smith is their third double digigit score he comes in averaging 11 and then after that they've got four or five guys who get into the scoring column and we look at our own Pirates we talked about that strength of schedule the Pirates come in ranked number five and 3A spot that they've been pretty used to over these past six seven eight years the Pirates find themselves perennial top 10 team in class 3A but when you look at that strength of schedule as of right now the Pirates first four opponents put them at 27 nth in the state in strength of schedule so needless to say that it's an uptick in the strength tonight with fisers coming to town Pirates are LED in scoring as everyone expected and as he's come out and shown one of the top players we're not going to say just in the southern half of the state we're going to say one of the top players in the state of Indiana senior Lane Sparks comes in averaging 33.8 points per game and I think the most astounding thing about Lane and about him averaging that number of points is he does it shooting over 60% from the field each game I think I think that sums up the quality and the efficiency of his offensive play he attacks the rim so hard and then when he takes a perimeter shot he's taking a very quality look so either way he's taking a high percentage shot and offensively I would put him up against any other player in the state and Lane doesn't do it all by himself he he's joined in double digits by two Juniors Colin CER bout said Colin Ry another Colin Blast from the pass but Colin CER comes in averaging almost 19 points a game he's at 18.8 Dakota Walters who had to miss a game because just like everybody else got that that great contact tracing that we're all becoming I'm not going to say used to but we're just it just happens but Dakota comes in in three games he's averaging 13 points per game Brendan Stanley another Junior comes in he's tickling getting close to that double digit Mark he's at 8.3 points per game and then Kai Dyer comes in averaging 6 and2 points per game so both teams here come in looking to uh looking to kind of make their their their Mark you know teams like fisers don't normally get out of the Indie metro area very much so this is going to be a different brand of basketball for for our fans for sure I think our boys are probably pretty used to it with all of the aaou and travel ball and things that they play uh you're used to this but but what can Greensburg fans expect to see that we don't normally see outside the the Indie loop as they call it I think Fishers will come out and really try to pressure the basketball first and foremost I think that style of of pressure and that intense defensive presence is something that we don't see on a regular basis I I wouldn't be surprised if Fisher also tried to press us here and there just to see how good our guard play really is I know we started the broadcast with emphasizing Fisher strength of schedule but they're also going to have to handle our dynamic duo of CER and and Sparks and their scoring abilities I think it's going to be a challenge for Fishers to really shut them down so as these two teams go at it um and the strategy that goes along with it I think we're going to have a great game tonight and hopefully the Pirates come out on top and I think it's going to be fun to see you know we talk about how important laye and Colin are to the pirates and their scoring and the the success that they have those are two guys that in a game like this could end up doing even more than than what we're used to seeing them because they're they're used to seeing these highquality Defenders and these different types of athletes like we said in all of the the travel and things that they do through the year so you know even though Lan has had a couple of games in the high 30s and Colin opened the year with a game of 30 you could see two guys again that that are able to go off and really showcase their skills tonight now fisers comes in led by secondy year man Garrett winegar he's at 2-2 at fisers 20-8 overall he actually got his first head coaching job last year at in central spent a year there and has now moved on to fisers Pirates are led by 15th year man Stacy Meer hard to believe he's been back home for 15 years now Stacy is 271 in and 77 in his 15th year at Greensburg 329 and 133 overall in his 20th year as a head coach looks like we're getting ready here as warm-ups wind down we're going going to be going into the national anthem I I think a stat that I find interesting also Grant you know Greensburg has two state titles to their name and so they're known for that but I think the more amazing thing is the quality basketball outside of that that they've been able to put together when you look over just the last since the start of the 2015 2016 season Greensburg is 104 and 25 Overall winning almost 81% of their games and then you you flipped out on on a headed and you got a girls program in that same amount of time that's 116 and 21 overall for fourth overall in the entire state so when you add that up there's some great quality basketball being played between the boys and the girls here at Greensburg High School our our fans have really had an opportunity to watch some successful teams the last few years we hope we can keep it going now I think we're going to step away here while we present the Kell in our national anthem with the of our naal [Music] for [Music] you guys their to e e e getting ready for tip off there starting lineups just announced starting for the Pirates as everybody could figure number 12 Colin CER number 14 Kai Dyer number 20 Lane Sparks number 32 Brendan Stanley and 34 Dakota Walters in for Fishers we have 33 Jeffrey Simmons he is their leading score 24 Charlie Smith 34 is Lucas puit 23 is Bryce Williams tip is controlled by Fishers into the hands of their point guard Charlie Smith Lane doing a good job pressuring the ball slipped to the basket there good find Simmons for two Grant just like you mentioned at the top looking to really pressure Lane and make his life difficult yeah they're going to find out how well he can handle it and if he can if he can score off that pressure in the half court offense good patient motion as everybody is used to by now with the Pirates I'm not surprised that fisers came out and matched them up manto man we'll have to watch and see how they adjust throughout the course of the game CER tries the right side brings it back to the middle skipped to the corner to Walters back out top to Colin good curl there by [Music] Lane Kai gets It reversed to the top Walters brings it back out to Dyer another nice curl by Lane you can see the double team comes quickly as soon as he catches it Kai with an unforced error there kept alive going to be stolen and turned back over there by fisers great Patience by the Pirates just have to make sure anytime that you get into the teeth of that defense that you're being decisive because you're going to get swarmed I think that's the longest offense The Possession we've had so far this season and that's probably a testament to Fischer's quality of Defense there to start the game Brenan gets into the lane takes it up that'll be missed rebounded there by 24 Smith brings it across the timeline kicks to the wing inside Simmons from about 12 I would say if that's their leading score Grant that's two easy ones already to get him started no doubt a first possession was a miscommunication on defense and the second one was a good play Lane gets into the middle of the lane able to score from the volleyball line makes our score four to2 fisers good patience here being shown by fisers as well they look to get inside drive there by Smith they're doing a great job of keeping keeping Simmons away from the ball and then next thing you know he Springs free and he's catching at 2 feet from the basket travel called there that's 34 Lucas puit with the travel turns it over to the Pirates 551 to go here in the first quarter Pirates Trail four to2 some more pressure deny off the inbound Lane kicks it out nice find there by Lane finds Dakota Walters who's able to knock down a three put the Pirates in front five to four that offense in transition may be the best shot that they get when they get it they need to take it Lane late rotating over good contest there by Bryan Simmons keeps his own shot alive stays with it good job by Bryan to battle inside then come away with that loose ball to Lane in the corner that's no good that's one that Brendan has to avoid he he is too important just defensively and with his hustle plays that's one that with a kid that's as big as Simmons with the inside position you can't afford to pick up cheap early fouls like that that's absolute truth we need Dakota on the floor as long as we can keep him Pirates lead five to four five minutes to go here in the first quarter ball screen set nice switch there good pressure being applied here early by the Pirates just some Mis miscommunication early on the backside it seems good patience good contest by Lane able to get his own rebound was Smith he misses two from Point Blank Range Lane gets all the way in they're going to say it wasn't tipped turnover Ball's going to fisers I don't know if you're a pirate fan you're kind of excited that fisers isn't hitting early but then you have to be a little worried because the shots they're missing are from point blank range and if that continues you got to think that water is going to find its level those are going to start dropping yeah I think both teams are showing a lot of patience on the offensive end and we'll have to see if the field goal percentage improves nice drive there that was 23 Bryce Williams and again that that shows the the struggles early so far for the Pirates Williams is just a straight line drive didn't do anything to shake his Man loose and is able to get to the rim ball reversed here to the right side to Dyer swings it to the top to lane lane drives in he's going to be fouled looks like that foul is going to go on number 21 Drew Turner that'll be his first teams first first sub of the game comes in it's going to be number five mil Stringer into the lineup pass stolen away there intended intended for lane two more layups missed there by fisers good contest on the second one by Brendan Colin with a good attack gets to the rim but he'll be fouled that's great offense off of that delayed transition break pushed the ball hard and Colin makes a good decision on the spin dribble and it's going line for two the thing that I like the most about that and this is something Stacy has instilled since day one here if you're one-on-one in transition your mentality has to be you're scoring or getting fouled which means you can't go in and play side to side you go straight lines make a decisive move there like Colin did Spin and get to the rim and and he's going to hopefully make this two for two from the line he does those two free throws put the Pirates back in the lead 7 to6 340 to go here in the first quarter Turner drops it inside and there Simmons able to get behind the defense again they find him as Colin looks to [Applause] attack that is 21 Drew Turner putting fisers up 10 to7 now another turnover by by the Pirates back-to-back turnovers now as fisers brings it across Turner with the ball for the Tigers reverses out top to Stringer Ball's going to be tied up possession arrow belongs to the Pirates number 32 Matt Brewer from fiser end of the game something the Pirates definitely have to get cleaned up here as we've been saying as there are far too many shots that are being left at The Rim by fisers another poorly timed pass there by the Pirates three straight trips three straight turnovers by the Pirates Ball's passed inside to 32 that whistle is going to mean danger for the Pirates that's going to be the second called early here on Bryan Stanley that is looks like we're going to get our first look here at freshman Addison BS petett he'll have to come in for Bryan who's got his second 240 to go pirates Trail 10 to7 I think we're seeing how disciplined fisers is they do push the ball but they're also showing showing patience on the offensive end and trying to get a quality shot at this point they have not had a lot of difficulty finding quality looks you good look up the floor and transition Kai trips but Lane's able to track it down gets to the right wing to Dakota Walters back out top the lane lane good first step gets to the rim nice job of Lane being patient there letting that defense get spread out gets to the rim gets the Pirates back within one 10 to n here minute 55 to go third is going to be called there on Brendan he did his best had his guy blocked out textbook blockout going to get his third foul called here in the first quarter coach Meyer is obviously upset and for good reason that's one of those fouls where as a coach you're upset because you have in the back of your mind what's the point in blocking out if you're not going to call fouls like that because then what leads to that third foul is the fact that you don't reward a kid for being fundamentally sound right also you can't fault Brendan too much because he's just out there competing and that's a bang bang play that unfortunately he got the foul call Rebound there on the Miss free throw by CER still Pirates Trail 10 to n Walters into the lane goes up just misses rebound by fisers as Turner pushes in transition kicks to the wing to Milsap reverse over here to Smith Smith backs it back out lets him get [Music] set UCLA screen set up to the top looks like we're getting a little back screen ball screen action good read There by milsaps nice job by Lane defend great job Kai does a great job over playing gets gets a tip and then fers is able to tip timeout called here by fisers 109 to go here in the first quarter Pirates Trail 10 to n they will bring it into play after this 30 second timeout Grant I will have to say so far I've been very impressed like you said both teams have been patient in the half court but fisers has done a great job reading any overplay their back cutting or anytime that that our posts either help too much they they over rotate or they they get just a half a step too high they do a great job pinning our guys on the high side yeah I think the their bigs are playing angles well they're also very physical I think the depth of their lineup is going to pay dividends over the night too we have to see how how the Pirates adjust I know notice the last possession they were switching everyone and we'll see if Greensburg continues to do that and help on the backside first time here fisers had been in a manto Man Press they bring out a 221 Zone press sometimes teams do this to be aggressive sometimes they do it just to control Tempo not sure what we'll see out of fisers here as the Pirates break it get it to Lane in the corner Lane gets into the lane able to go up and score makes it 11 to 10 Pirates retake the lead here 50 seconds to go in the quarter Ball's reversed out top to milsaps swings to the wing to Turner Turner back out top to puit don't know if Fischer's going to look to stay patient and get the last shot or they're just going to have their normal patient offense that they've been running get their first good look that they do nice job by Lane but then great reack there by Smith able to keep it alive himself get another offensive rebound that's kind of been the the tone here of the first half first quarter fiser getting to the rim and missing but able to control their own rebounds 15 seconds to go here Bill saps drives good help by Addison Lane gambl coach have you noticed I think rebounding is going to play a big part in this game because fisers keeps getting extra possessions absolutely lane from half court that shot is no good that's the end of the first quarter the score Fishers 12 Pirates 11 now that's one of those that that fans love to see aggressiveness and everybody oo and aw but that that last aggressiveness there by Lane you don't want you don't want to really hold a kid back but that's one that in a game like this where you're really struggling guarding the drive that you can't afford to have one kid break that shell and get out of position because you saw what happens when uh Smith is able to read that and get to the rim and put fisers back in the lead yeah I think that's a difference between being aggressive and fundamentally sound I think they got to close up the gaps and helping recover whenever possible and um as I just referenced I think uh the Pirates are going to have to finish out possessions with uh good strong defensive rebounds and looking to kick it transition and I think the thing that that they have to to come to the realization of is you can't play great 20 25 seconds worth of half court defense and didn't think the possession is over just because the shots Missed The Possession isn't over until you finish it with a block out and a rebound and right now we're doing everything but finish the possession with that rebound and when you give a team that's as good as Fishers and as physical as Fishers second third and fourth opportunities that will come back and haunt you at the end of the night I am sure if someone were smart enough to do a statistical analysis on field goal percentage after offensive rebound I bet you'd be off the charts and when we give up those offensive rebounds fisers is going to have a lot of good opportunities and what tends to happen a lot of times and it's almost like Murphy's lost on on a missed blockout they tend to kick it back out and hit a three is what happens a lot of times I don't I don't know if uh if at halftime there needs to be a wet mopping of the floor take place or what but I've seen more Pirates fall and I don't know if if it was from the wrestling mats being down just added an extra layer of dust we had a wrestling invitational here today good for our wrestlers to uh be able to have a home meet but so far it's wreaked some havoc on the the footing of both teams Ball's kicked over to the right side to Dyer CER out top going to set a flat ball screen CER looks to drive kicks it inside the dire he's short kept alive there by Pettit but controlled by fisers as now pu brings it across the timeline kicks into the corner to Forbes back out top to Simmons he's back to Forbes good strong straight line drive there another offensive rebound that will be deflected away possession belongs to the Pirates notice now Fischer's back in appears to be man-to-man press kind of have a little token Den ey and see if we can handle that ball pressure well you mentioned earlier that the their depth could end up being a factor and just something like that where you just make it difficult to get the ball in bounds and then not really looking to trap or get a steal but just make you work every time Pirates are going to play you know at best six guys tonight uh that that could have a wearing effect as the game goes on absolutely absolutely not only physically but mentally mentally as you're trying to be sharp throughout the game and close out possessions and make good decisions on the offensive end great battle there by Dakota Walters to kick it out to Dyer nice look by Dyer inside to P it for two Pet's first basket of the game brings the Pirates back to the lead 13-2 620 to go here in the first half looks like we're watching some uh early early to mid 2000s Wisconsin here with some swing offense being deployed by fisers they're kind of tempting Simmons into a three they're going to give that one up to pu it looks like that was a good decision by the Pirates somebody read The Scouting Report Dyer out at the Timeline as they get set every time the Pirates have have gotten to the point where they're trying to get a set or just looking to get an easy entry it just seems that things have gone a little sideways gotten a little Haywire some of that could be because of the physicality that that fisers has shown defensively some of it is it's been a couple of weeks since the Pirates play just trying to knock some rust off you don't see this every day the Pirates are out in two3 now trying to just slow down fisers a little bit and maybe just limit the number of possessions in the game could be that uh so far as we've been saying been a lot of shots at the rim and even against the Zone still able to get inside as Smith gets to the rim Brett Stringer into the lineup for the first time tonight Stringer out top handling it he's going to be fouled there foul is going to be on number four forbs that's going to be his first third on fisers 505 to go here Pirates Trail 14-13 you know what as concerned as we or critical we've been about the Pirates on the defensive end this still a one-point ball game I think Pirates just have to be patient be poised and just play their own game you can see now anytime Lane gets it it's an automatic double team didn't matter that time laye able to get to the rim 15 to 14 now Pirates Take the Lead nice job there as Addison Barnes petett steps in and takes the charge great read of stepping over and help takes a charge foul is going to be on number 21 Drew Turner his second fourth on fisers Kai Dyer checks back in you know with the foul trouble with Brendan Stanley Addison Barnes Peta is going to have to play a lot of minutes here and thus far he's doing a very nice job filling in CER gets the dire a foul is going to be called on the floor Dyer does a great job getting to the Middle where defenses defenses are always trying to keep the ball out of the lane so Kai does a great job taking that hand off and really looking to attack going downhill you you talked about the depth coach Simpson Notice fisers Just Subs Two fresh guys in see if the Pirates can keep up Ball's entered out top to P it revers to Dyer coach Meyer now calling for 41 layups want great patience as we turn it over good hustle there by Lane able to knock it off of number five Stringer that's just great hustle there by Lane to get that possession back Pirates now will take it out having to go the length of the floor Lane gets it into to [Music] CER we hear coach Meyer calling out Nike you've heard that a time or two haven't you coach just because a play is called doesn't mean the pass should be made but now the pyat got to get back defensively they are not able to as milsaps is able to get into the teeth of the defense and finish at The Rim puts fisers back in the lead CER on the attack comes up short nice battle there by Walter as he's able to keep it alive turnover there by the Pirates 338 to go here in the first half Pirates Trail 16- 15 coach Meyer's going to roll the dice he's not going to roll the dice saw Brendan going back to the scorers table thought maybe he was going to check in and Coach Meyer could uh maybe employ a Zone to keep him out of foul trouble but catches it at the last second takes him out of the game a little side pinch action there run by fisers entered out to the high elbow to Simmons looking to attack 15-footers no good rebound there by Lane CER in transition brings it up going to be trapped in the corner another turnover there by the Pirates picked off by Simmons brings it himself in transition gets to the rim no good rebound there by Barnes Pettit kid Dyer on the attack gets inside no good at The Rim fiser in transition finished there nicely by 23 Bryce Williams you know we had a lot happen there back and forth I don't hate the Pirates pushing the transition I just wish they could have finished at The Rim it would have made fisers take the ball than n versus pushing the ball off a Miss 18 to 15 fiser lead as Lane gets inside I think that's his first Miss of the game Point Blank Range 18- 15 fiser leads 225 to go in the first half Ball's passed inside to 33 Simmons great job there by Barnes pet at not fouling just going straight up making it a difficult finish CER attacks from the right wing gets inside He will draw the foul Colin cmer to the line for two you know that we talked in the [Music] opening we we talked in the opening coach Simpson about the defensive pressure that the Pirates are going to see and when we take it to the rim we're going to have to be strong and physical because fishes is going to bring at every possession that last take by Colin he earned the strip or the trip to the charity line just because of his physical play and his his determination to get to the hoop and now that you see how the officials are going to call that at The Rim now and it not saying it's going to be easy now you take that next step and try to finish through contact and get that that and one so you're getting getting three an attempt at three points instead of just one like we got that time as Colin goes one for two from the line makes it 18 to 16 here two minutes to go no help there as Lane gets driven by backside help was nowhere to be found 20 to 16 now fiser leads 155 to go in the first half Sparks will bring it across the timeline going to set a high ball screen give Lane some space to work good slip there by Barnes petett good find by Lane Sparks as Barnes pettett is able to finish that's good offense they give so much attention to Lane off of the dribble penetration that Addison rolls nicely catches and finishes and I think it just goes to show Lane's unselfishness that was one he could have kept his dribble tried to attack did a good job staying patient kept alive there by Simmons but recovered by the Pirates pass ahead it's going to be deflected out of bounds looks like for once we might actually uh thank the officials that looked like that was off on the Pirates but we're not going to complain we'll call it a 50/50 ball Greensburg takes it out of bounds under their own basket 112 to go trailing 20 to 18 Dyer looking to trigger it in gets it inbounds finally to CER CER drives inside nice find Again by Lane inside to Barnes pet it one minute to go in the first half Barnes petted able to draw the Pirates to a tie 20 to 20 here as the clock ticks under 1 minute too in the [Music] half they find Simmons inside as they have done far too often in this first half Simmons another two-point bucket there right at The Rim 22 to 20 fiser in the lead here 40 seconds to go in the first half that last defensive possession the big helped uphill and provided the opening for Simmons there looks like the Pirates are going to be patient here they'll take a layup if they can get it but they're going to hold for one if they can Lane's got to be careful referee's got the count able to break the count there now he's counting again counts broken coach will they go flat here or will they try to set a ball I think they might well looks like they're going to try to run a different set at the buzzer Barnes petted able to get that shot off our score at the end of the first half Fishers 22 Pirates 20 we do want to mention to all of our listeners upcoming events tomorrow you can find your lady pirates two different times as Greensburg hosts the Holiday Tournament Greensburg will face off against Southport at 10:00 followed after that by Noblesville and New Pal as always we're we're hoping and and thinking that the Pirates will win game one if they're able to do that they will play in the championship game at 6 if by some means they find their way into the losers game that will be at 4 but it will also be broadcast here live on GTV through this same link Coach Moore or will they be a different link through this same link you'll be able to find that I lied a different link you can go to YouTube to GT 's Channel I'm sure that link will be tweeted out you can find it on Facebook but that will be tomorrow we'll join you again the start of the second half we will step away here Pirates Trail 22 to2 at the end of the first [Music] half I started shot it was terrible [Music] how many [Music] seven and you know what they're only down two I know only down two [Music] just [Music] text swe [Music] are you going to concession stand you get your water yourself [Music] he [Music] hey [Music] he [Music] thank you yes [Music] sir good [Music] 15 to do hey Domingo Domingo hey run [Music] down pi [Music] he [Music] good good [Music] two got at least [Music] it don't matter [Music] okay [Music] hey we're back here at Greensburg High School getting ready to start second half action fisers lead your Pirates 22 to20 Grant I think you have some first half scorers for us absolutely for the Pirates let's start there Colin CER has three points Lane Sparks has eight Addison Barnes petted Off the Bench with six and Dakota Walters has that lone three and then for the visiting Tigers of fisers Shan milsaps number two has two points Drew Turner number 21 has two points Bryce Williams number 23 has six points Charlie Smith has four and Jeffrey Simmons has eight points all right grant as we come back out here to start the second half Pirates will start with the basketball in your opinion give me one one key both offensively and defensively that are going to win and lose win or lose this game for the Pirates I would start with just taking care of the basketball number one that that means in All Phases of the game taking care of the basketball when you secure a rebound being strong with it and also in the half court making good decisions my second point for the for the Pirates would then it would go into finishing possessions with rebounds not giving up offensive rebounds if the Pirates can do those two things they're going to come out with a victory tonight I think it shows a little bit of uh the confidence now that that coach Meyer has been given by the play of Addison Barnes Pettit there in that first half as he's willing to start with Brendan on the bench as you just talked about the importance of taking care of the basketball first possession of the second half pirates with a turnover good pressure being applied by the Pirates almost to a five count there as it gets passed into Simmons in the post Simmons works on dire spins and scores 24 to 20 Fishers you don't see moves like that very often in today's game with a big man with his back to the basket faking One Direction going other they give you thoughts of Kevin mccale coach did you see a little Kevin mccale I did he actually used the glass very fundamental long lanky Strong finish good for him Pirates were able to come back and transition there Walters with a nice Strong finish at The Rim 2422 fisers in the lead seven minutes to go here in the third quarter fisers again showing that patience attack along the Baseline there by Williams knocked out of bounds great Hustle by lanee able to give the ball back to the Pirates you know you referenced The Hustle by Lane Sparks that's a play that's not going to show up on the stat sheet but that extra effort caused fisers to knock it out of bounds and results in possession for the Pirates and I think that's what gets lost so many times people see the points and because that's the easy flashy thing to see as kmer attacks Ball's going to be knocked out of bounds but but what they don't see are things like that the the the effort plays that you don't even understand the importance of plays like that until the game's over and you look at the end then it like you said it doesn't show up in the Box Score but those are the plays that make the difference between winning and losing and it's it's plays that require zero skill it's so much of a want to and a mentality and Lane definitely has that Warriors mentality he's going to fight for 32 minutes that he's on the floor I would also extend that philosophy to Addison Barnes Peta I think that's why he's out here in the second half just because he showed that ability to make those hustle plays in the first half and it's really impressive too because he's charged now with guarding their leading score and he's a freshman as that ball gets inbounded there to Turner Turner knocks down fisers first three of the night extends the lead to the biggest of the night for fisers 2722 now Pirates Trail six minutes to go in the third quarter as CER gives it off to Dyer dire surveys gets in to the Lane wanted a foul on the play won't be called as Smith is able to take that finish at the rim and score Pirates now Trail 29- 22 fers has come out on on a nice little run here Pirates having the the same difficulties that plagued them in the first half just being a little loose with the BK bball getting to the rim but then not able to to finish through the contact you know you've been around coach Meer a long time and it's not often that he uses a timeout in this fashion but he understands the point of the game that he needed to burn one here get everyone steady get everyone right because he didn't want this game to get away the Pirates are right there they just need a couple of good solid possessions to to slow this game down a little bit and also get on the scoreboard and you know like you said this isn't a time that you a lot of times see coach Meyer burning a timeout but when you have to question the toughness that that's being exhibited or Not exhibited by the Pirates that's when that's when coach Meyer will will look to to use that timeout just just have a meeting of the minds as you will you know just kind of rattle the cages remind them of what's at stake and and the just a couple little points that that need to be made to clean things up another turnover there by the Pirates on the in BS pass as Turner brings it back out top correction Smith has it out top for fisers now Turner with it out top looking to attack back out to Smith Smith looking to attack Stanley Brendan's got a he can contest but got to stay out of the way not able to fight for that rebound like he normally would and another turnover there by the Pirates be interesting to see how much longer coach Meyer allows this to go going to see if they can play through it the pirat will have it out under their own basket the Pirates are going to have to show how mentally tough they are right here because they have got to dig themselves out of a hole keep their composure and get a quality shot on the other end Williams there able to convert puts the Pirates down by 11 now as Sparks brings it up hits Dyer in the corner Dyer attacks on the Baseline inside to Stanley he's going to be hit he'll go to the line for two and I think if you look back at those last few possessions Grant if you watch there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency by the Pirates in their cuts to get open you know fisers is going to play as physical as the referees allow them and was there some holding and grabbing going on there absolutely but what do they always say it's not a foul until the referee blows his whistl and so you got to learn to play through that and I think that they were looking to get bailed out instead of making plays on their own there if you're not going to set a screen for a press breaker the guys that are cutting to get open have to cut in front of the defender and actually show that they want the basketball Brendan goes one for two to from the line A Smith comes right back finishes at The Rim Pirates now Trail 3523 CER kicks in the corner to Dyer fumbled away out of bounds 440 to go here as coach Meyer will take that full timeout now try to write the ship 440 to go in the third quarter Pirates Trail 3523 and and uh coach Peters they they're kind of making you look like a basketball Savant here as you said that uh the the biggest point of emphasis needs to be taking care of the basketball and you know conservatively we'll say there's been 10 possessions here by the Pirates to start the the second half and I think they've turned it over on seven or eight of them I think that's a very conservative estimate um especially with the Press breaker giving them problems and then the last possession you see there in the half court we got we got deep penetration and just turned it over when we tried to kick it out so I think the Pirates have to uh value the ball and even in the third quarter even though you're down 12 it wouldn't hurt to have an offensive possession that takes 30 or 40 seconds just show some Grit show some composure and and reverse the ball a couple times and get a good shot the the only downside to that would be if we were able to do that and really work for a great look and then finish at The Rim finish with a three whatever it might be fisers has done a great job on two or three possessions here immediately getting down and scoring right after a turnover or a made basket by the Pirates so the transition defense would have to be great on the back end of that too you can't have one great possession offensively and think you've accomplished something you got to start stacking stops and scores double high ball screen set there running a shooter milsaps off of double staggered he's going to attack get to the rim he'll go to the line for the and one mil sapaps finishes at The Rim that foul will be called on 14 Kai Dyer you know coach we referenced earlier about Fischer's depth that depth may be showing itself a little bit here a little bit Fresher a little bit sharper um maybe even right now wanting it just a little bit more just due to being being a little bit having a little bit more energy at this point that free throw is no good but that finish at The Rim there by milsaps makes the score 3723 now Pirates down by 14 here we have our third different press of the game a little little Diamond being employed by fisers there's their trap earlier in the game we saw their first two presses just more of uh looking to to control Tempo that one like you said they were looking to trap out of that be over overly aggressive as Lane now gets to 15 ft pulls up he's able to score 3725 Pirates cut into that Advantage now Trail by 12 you know I can be a bit of a homer at times but I don't know there's many high school players that could make that jump shot that he just made well and so so much of that goes back to Lane works on that so hard that seems to be a lost start that mid-range game is such a weapon of lanes and he does a great job yeah and that was contested as well which will serve him well when he plays at the next level Brendan does a great job getting in there disrupting that coming up with the loose ball foul is going to be called there on Smith of fishers Pirates ball on the sideline I'm surveying to see what zone press are in again now they've gone back to their token manto man pressure Walters does a good job bringing it up breaking that pressure hand off out top to lane lane gets the 15 again it's good 3727 Pirates chipping away was 14 able to get to 15 feet there two possessions in a row by Sparks gets it back to within 10 but then right behind that as we said Pirates not able to keep fisers out of the Lane Smith drives and he's going to draw a contact go to the line for two you know the Pirates can get a couple of stops you might see on the offensive end really the Pirates featuring Lane just because of the success and the efficiency they score with him having the ball might be their best option at this point and I think what you'll see the more success Lane continues to have you might see fisers just throw two guys at him and look at Greensburg and say one of you other guys is going to have to beat us you have to make a play and they're going to force somebody else to have to step up well if they send two people at him hopefully that opens up wide open for some of our our other guys to have a good open quality look good attack there by Walters knocked out of bounds by fisers will be Pirates ball under their basket fisers goes 0 for two that last possession at the line 301 to go here Pirates Trail by 10 37 27 Ball inbounded by Dyer to Sparks Lane Fades away no good Dyer does a great job keeping it alive and one for Kai Dyer Dyer with the second chance opportunity there puts it in draws the Pirates back to within eight he'll go to the line with a chance for the oldfashioned three-point play now we talked about hustle plays that don't show up on the St sheet this one will in an offensive rebound but Kai showed a lot of toughness for being a young player and also a lot of strength finishing the rebound and putting it in that free throw is no good Pirates Trail by eight 250 to go here in the third quarter nice contest at The Rim there by lane lane brings it across the timeline gets inside his shots no good Dyer does a good job again trying to get that offensive rebound skipped across the floor to Turner turn her back across deflect it out of bounds by CER I'll tell you a guy that I'd like to see be more aggressive here for the next four or five minutes for the Pirates is Dakota Walters he seems to have seems to be that kid that's got the athleticism and just enough shake to him I think he could could cause some issues for Fishers but right now just doesn't seem to be really really exerting himself offensively Dyer does a great job being on the backside help there steal the lob attempt inside for Simmons takes it Coast to Coast he was fouled he's going to go to the line for two you know we talked about Kai D's hustle in the last possession down here you notice his basketball instincts took over he understood that he had an opening and he had a little crease and he decided to be aggressive and take it to the rim good for Kai Dyer's first attempt is up and good brings the Pirates back to within seven 3730 now they cut that lead in half here in just under 2 minutes dire second is up and good 3731 Pirates Trail now by only six as Smith will bring it across for fisers nice attack there by Stringer nice attack that was one that Kai has got to understand with that ball screen coming you have to force the offensive man to use the ball screen good find inside but blocked Walters is blocked at The Rim good box out there by Walters able to come down with that Miss three by Smith Dyer along the left Wings going to get inside going to put it up just off the iron collected Inside by Simmons as fisers brings it across Turner swings out top to Stringer all the way to the corner to Smith Smith gets it inside the Simmons Good Help by Walters but yet another offensive rebound there by Simmons puts the Pirates back down by 10 4131 minute to go here in the third quarter you know once again I'd make the point that if the Pirates need to emphasize on getting a good quality shot versus a quick Shot Lane gets in the lane he's going to be called for a travel 53 seconds to go pirates Trail by 10 pirate faithful not real happy with that call it's good to see our fans getting into it Smith now for the Tigers brings it across little dribble entry curl into the post swings it back to the top to Turner little swing screen action almost freed up Smith for a layup there but looks like fisers might be patient enough to hold for the last shot of the quarter here this does have a little bit of a swing feel to it doesn't it I'm not sure they're really looking to score out of it other than just getting some movement setting up for the last shot of the to Smith has it 8 seconds to go ball screen set Smith looking to attack attacking [Applause] Stanley Lanes three quarter Court attempt is no good into the third quarter now Pirates Trail 41 31 Pirates got themselves into a 14-point hole there grant were able to cut it back to six what what did they do right there that were that allowed them to cut that lead in half I think I think their their shot selection on the offensive end getting good quality shots helped kind of them chip into that lead they got it down to six at one point and you notice it's because of quality looks on the offensive end and also getting pairing that with stops on the on the defensive end they have eight minutes to go here we'll see if they can have another push they get it to six or five you know with four minutes to go I I wouldn't count as out by any means well and I think what we saw in that two-minute stretch it goes from 14 to six there were zero turnovers and zero offensive rebounds by fisers now what what kind of sparked our run was Kai Dyer getting an offensive putback and one for us for for the Pirates but just that that brief two-minute Glimpse is what the Pirates have got to live on now they they've got to see that just how important taking care of the basketball is and how you've got to make sure that the opposing team is and done each time that you're able to go down and have a good defensive half court possession yourself it's going to be fiser basketball here to start the fourth quarter triggered in to Smith he'll bring it across the timeline Smith surveying the defense looking to get the ball inside the Simmons they do up and score 4331 now Pirates Trail as cmer will bring it across for the Pirates CER looking to attack good attack there good back cut by Lane going to be tipped out of bounds they're going to say that it was last touched by the Pirates turnover is going to be called coach holsworth pleading the Pirates case on the sideline going to step in favor of the Tigers the officials did check in with each other and did agree that it was red ball Simmons sets that back screen ball screen now offensive foul is going to be called on fisers in illegal screen legal screen called there on number four Josh Forbes his third foul team's fifth could do the Pirates some good here they're only two fouls away from being in the bonus can't lob the ball inbounds and expect good things to happen too often off the turnover cmer able to get it back there as he blocks Turner at The Rim CER drives kicks to Dyer in the corner back out to Walters back to Dyer over the lane on the right wing skips it across the floor to Walters Dakota hits Colin Colin step back three in and out good follow there by Lane let's see if the Pyers can pair that offensive bucket with a stop here on the defensive end that's one of those shots by Colin does everything but finish at the bottom of the net good look by him great defense there timeouts going to be called by fisers 627 to go here in the game our Pirates Trail 4333 nothing nothing has changed since the start of the fourth quarter pirates still Trail by 10 what's going to have to happen here Grant this last 627 for the Pirates to kind of flip the script and we don't care if it's by 10 or by one but to make sure the Pirates come out on top you know at what point do you will Stacy consider any kind of defensive change here just to throw them off um at what point do you get I wouldn't say in desperation mode but you get in a position where you want to create some disruption defensively with maybe a Zone press or a trap and knowing Stacy he's he's going to go till probably just under the five minute Mark depend now if this thing would stretch out any more than it is then you could see him really change things up but if he can keep it within Striking Distance you might see just under five minutes as the ball's kicked in the corner to number two milps just a catch and shoot three as the ball's kicked up Court nice find there by Lane as he hits Walters and just like you said when do they change now the Pirates are going to employ some full-court man-to-man pressure Pirates Trail 4635 6 minutes to go kicked on the Baseline to Turner ball foul is going to be called on Brendan and unfortunately I do think that's the right call Brendan tried to draw the charge but then because he fell got caught up and he's what actually caused uh Simmons to to fall there so that is going to be a blocking call on Bryan that's his fourth that brings Barnes pet it back in Bryan actually did a good job playing for a good long time there without drawing that fourth back out to milsaps in the corner his three is up and good not quite sure at what point as a player you say to yourself self I might want to get a hand up but hopefully that's happening soon milsaps hit a couple big threes the last two possessions CER drives his layup attempt is no good on the left hand side Pirates Trail 4935 nice defense there by Barnes petett into the hands of Dyer to CER for a nift I think Colin had designs of maybe going up and getting a little Ram Jam bam slam on that one nice job there by the Pirates good trap and deflection by Lane then Kai did a great job hitting it off of a fisers player it's going to be out of bounds to the pirates pirates still Trail 4937 as fisers continues their parade of new fresh players into the game 51 to go here pirates still trailing by 12 Ball's going to be triggered into Walters back to CER CER kicks left side the dire hits Lane coming off a curl Lane gets into the teeth of the defense skip pass out to CER CER to Walters Barnes petett back to Walters good back cut read There by Kai Kai gets into the lane no good follows his own shot nice Kai nice rebound put back there by Kai Dyer brings the Pirates back to within 10 430 to go here in the game as CER will pressure out top that's Turner for sorry that's Williams for fiser Turner on the curl he's going to get to the rim and score seems like anytime the Pirates try to make a dent fisers is able to get downhill and get to the rim and just when you start to feel that balloon inflating the air starts to come out a little bit Yeah and fiser responds by not only getting a good shot but getting a shot right at The Rim not quite sure that I agree with that call it's a flop that's going to be called a charge it's going to be difficult oh wow they called it an illegal screen I thought they called it a push on Lane it's kind of hard for Lane to to get open when the guy's wearing his uniform with him but I digress four minutes to go here in the game pirates Trail 5139 n that's Turner with it swings it across the floor now Williams on the left side kicks back out top to Smith looks like Fischer's going to be happy to just chew some clock here they're going to get whatever they want as they stick Simmons out at the setting nail screens as Simmons will look to attack gets inside kicks back outside to Smith Smith brings it back to the top resets the offense good pressure being applied by Lane no help to be seen Well Done by fisers there showing a lot of patience and grinded out a a tough possession and ended with a good look and exactly what you can't have happen when you're trying to come back into a game is a score and then a turnover that three-point attempt by Simmons is no good as CER will bring it across his three-point attempt is no good rebounded there by puit as now fisers will be happy to just walk it up control the tempo as Williams brings it across for fisers 240 to go and just as soon as we say they're patient they get impatient and turn it over Pirates Trail 5339 239 to go here fiser still extends their pressure want to just make it difficult for the Pirates to get it in bounds also make them chew up a little bit more clock looks like they just want to keep it out of lanes hands Ball's kicked across the floor to Dyer Dyer gets inside he tries to kick to Stanley going to be knocked out of bounds off of Stanley it's going to be Fischer's ball 5339 now 230 to go into game as Collins's going to pick up full court pressure good pressure being applied I would say fisers is going to be happy with free throws and layups to finish this game coach Meyer looks like he's going to dump the bench now Fischer's just going to pass it around nice read There by Brendan the one time tonight that Lane's not aggressive kind of surprised by that as fisers does a good job looking up the floor finds Simmons for two 5539 now Pirates Trail CER pulls up that three-point attempt is no good pu it with the rebound Williams will bring it up Lane still out there fighting as we know he will he's frustrated with a call it even though it was a foul he feels like he gets held and smacked throughout entire games he's just asking for a consistent whistle for the first time tonight we have some new faces in for the Pirates number 10 Jeter Edwards number 30 Brett Stringer comes back into the game number 22 Abe tebbie in for the first time as it gets into Simmons he'll finish at the rim for two as Stanley in BR inbounds to Edwards Edwards kicks across the floor to Stanley Brendon will drive get to the rim that's going to be denied as Edwards goes up he's denied Stringer carals it for the Pirates over on the right wing to Barnes Pettit Barnes Pettit swings to Stringer over to tbbi a Stringer to Edwards looks like fisers was calling for a foul they just wanted to dump their bench yeah although with a a team that plays as many guys as they do I don't know how many of these guys are actually checking in for the first time I think only one I think everybody has played now except for number 11 this will be the first time that we see John Inari in for Fishers the ball will be trigged triggered in to Edwards 43 seconds to go now Pirates Trail 5739 Barnes petted on the Baseline swings to TBB over to Edwards nice Cut there by Bryan Brendan gets into the lane he goes up and he's fouled he'll go to the line for two you know it is good to see the young kids come in despite what the scoreboard showing had a nice offensive possession there showed toughness showed execution and it results with Brendan stainley being at the line brenan's first free throw attempt is up and good 5740 now 31.7 seconds to go second free throw attempt is up and good 5741 now Pirates Trail 30 seconds to go in the game fisers will just run out the clock here unless the Pirates decide to foul coach Meyer doesn't want him to foul 32 there Matt Brewer gets in the scorebook that's a final score here from Greensburg our Pirates fall to fisers 59- 41 the next time that you'll be able to to see your pirates in action will be on January 2nd at Columbus East now this was a game that was scheduled kind of last minute by coach Meyer I'm sure he's he's constantly looking for games to fill the schedule so keep an eye out online go to Greensburg athletics.com to check the schedule check Twitter check all of your social media apps I'm sure it will be posted they'll keep you up to date uh final thoughts here Grant yeah I thought the pirats came out and um tried to handle the intensity of fishers and I think their the depth of fishers and also just the continual ball pressure um just wore out the Pirates as the game progressed I do think the Pirates had some some bright spots you know I thought Lane battled the whole night I thought other individuals uh pitched in and and had nice nights as well but in the end um fisers was just too much for Greensburg to handle and I and I think that uh the biggest thing two biggest things that coach Meyer will take away from this game are um just valuing possession of the basketball and some of that comes down to physical and mental toughness some of it comes down to look just that idea of the value of each possession in a game like this this you're playing a a a good 4A team you know that even though it will be in the 3A tournament this is the level of Team you're going to see if you're fortunate enough to win a sectional and you move on in the tournament you're playing in the regional in the semi-state this is the quality of opponent that you're going to have to beat to continue your season and to continue that March in a tournament and so valuing every single possession is going to be at at the top of the list for Coach Meyer and then I think also just controlling the offensive glass far too many offensive rebounds back coming on the back of of turnovers are two things that I think coach will really focus on here before their next outing I think you mentioned this earlier in the broadcast um valuing the ball and finishing possessions rebounding wise there is a fraction of that that does come down to skill but mostly it comes down to effort toughness and just the want to to get the job done I I say it all of the time to to our girls that rebounding is about 99 per want to and about a half a percent skill and half a percent technique I mean you you just have to want to get in there and muck it up and do the dirty work because there's nothing at all pretty about a battle on the boards I mean it it's going to be down and dirty and gritty and and it's just it's going to be hard just like your defensive possession was but don't do all of that work throughout a possession and then not get rewarded for it by finishing with with a rebound yeah well I think that's going to do it for our broadcast tonight Grant thanks for helping us out it's been Grant Peters and Jason Simpson bringing to you green

as blake fires up a three up and off the mark great box out there by casey that silva comes up with the rebound pass it off sue boyer in the corner pierce he gets inside sirikers hesitates spins gets inside up and short great move there but gets his own rebound back out to silva a couple passes there casey finally gets the ball he's being patient looks like they're going to resetting the offense here now silva has it at the top of the key dribbles around the half court line dribble sue is left hesitates hands it off to bartholomew kind of the same thing we've been seeing with with the bears here in the offensive end lots of dribble handoffs and weaves and screening away for your teammate silva fires the baseline jump shot off the mark and tipped off the reekers great hustle there but evansville will get the ball as we have julian johnson and number five dylan mears in for the bears maybe a couple speed guys in for the bears as he powers his way up and off the mark but rebounded by silva passes it off to reekers on the right side of the court in the corner of pierce he takes the three up in nothing but net three ball is good with 240 remaining to go here in the first quarter five points for pierce i think the subs the bears are brought in are definitely their definition of athlete they're long they're quick and they're athletic i have a feeling they definitely basketball is not something they excel at as well definitely other sports great team defense so far here on this possession kicks it out in the corner to blake and he pump fakes great switch there and great talk by the olympians on the defensive end and three balls up and nothing but net 424.

caden bird better offense from the bears there and stolen by blake the sophomore one of their leaders and 21 muscles his way up but doesn't get it to fall on offensive rebound once again and finally a missed shot and great play there by then to get the shot to fall and we're gonna have daniel murphy check back in for casey bartholomew i thought casey brought some good minutes there so far the only points tonight comes from pierce and boyer see if somebody else can get it going tonight for the olympians as dana murphy looks at the three gets inside jump stops up and good daniel murphy for two three leading scorer three so the only three scorers so far this afternoon 115 on the clock 9 to 14 is our score a three ball is up and off the mark and pierce with the rebound between the legs tries to draw a foul great pass to silva and misses the shot great offensive series there but could not get the result they wanted to go under a minutes ago 9 14 is our i score pierce down there calling out how many seconds 21's been in the lane i think that's definitely something to look at as well c gets inside and the turnover committed by the bears 35 seconds from the clock might be holding it for one last shot here let's see what coach chitty and his players come up with here in the last 30 seconds as murphy has the ball dribbles it to the circle does some dribble moves and great defense there by evansville central with 16 seconds to go here this will be huge to go into the second quarter as silva has the ball screen set by boyer pierce gets inside 18-foot jump shot up and good excuse me off the mark he draws the foul there that was a big flop and that's the correct call by the referee there pierce is not going to be knocking over that kid like that that's a flop and a half right there julian johnson picks up his first 3.8 seconds is on the clock and pierce is at the line for two and the first one is up and good this is going to be an answering battle going down the stretch with pearson number 21 for the bears both great long athletes i think it's going to be a good matchup going down the stretch as the second one is good two points at the line four here skips him seven and one last shot and it is up and no good so there we have it with pierce ending the quarter with two big free throws clemency olympians down three heading into the second quarter and now and i'll send it over to the columbus east cheerleaders there we have it our columbus east cheerleaders so 11 to 14 is our score zach what was your take on that first quarter there by both teams so far it's definitely an exciting game to call that's for sure it's been up and down athletic interesting to see gamepl this game goes down the stretch so the scoring for the olympians through one daniel murphy with two pierce with seven and boyer with two quarter looks like i scratched it i was gonna say it looks like boyer's gonna be taking a break but i just see him now so apologies from that so the starters in once again we only had one sub for the olympians tonight as we mentioned earlier on ben major is not dressed do not know the reason but just he is not dressed tonight and we're gonna have a tribal violation committed by the olympians it may have something to do with coronavirus as to why ben is not dressed tonight not sure though if i had to guess that's what it is as number five dylan mars is bringing the ball down the court as daniel murphy switches and picks him up quite a bit of threes taken there in the first quarter for this bear stevens by pierce there to cause that travel he wasn't expecting him to slide over like that 7 37 to go here in the second quarter silva passes it to murphy he dribbles to his left hands it off to pierce passes it to boyer as reekers picks his dribble up passes it off to boyer so zach what is the point as handing it off and just passing into keeping the ball outside the three-point line here sometimes you just gotta probe a little bit probe a little bit on offense to see if you're gonna be able to find a weak spot in the defense that shot was off the mark and a travel violation committed by the bears i think that was actually a carry travelation or violation there excuse me he just kind of lost lost control of the ball what happens so silva brings the ball down the court crosses over to his right and pass it off to reekers murphy has it silva back to reekers back to silva you can definitely tell the bears are really keyed on 33 and 31 trying to stop them as pierce gets inside shot is up and good jacob pierce with nine points here in just two quarters i think the bears have definitely opted to put some length on pierce the 24 looks to be one of their longer players has has been switched on to him to try and slow pierce down here as they're running kind of the same offense the olympians are doing and a wide open three is taken by 24.

kaden bird and that shot is up and good he was hot behind the arc in the first quarter seems like every team we played so far they have really good three-point shooters this season and pierce gets the strong take up and good no answer for pierce right now timeout committed by evansville two-point ball game with 5 excuse me 5 59 remaining to go here in the second like we mentioned three-point shots against bedford kind of cost us the game they were lights out both halves and then you know you know we only silver creek was lights out too yeah we only see teams once once a year of how they play but it just always seems like whenever we play a team they just cannot miss especially from the three-point line i think they've only missed one or two three-point shots and they've hit about four or five so again they just seem to be red hot whenever they play us but olympians keeping it close here hopefully they'll be able to cut down on those three pointers made and they'll keep this game a little bit closer maybe take the lead we want to thank you guys for tuning in once again to this live stream i want to thank our sponsors columbus auto group and forced construction for sponsoring these videos tonight two point ball game here after a timeout taken by evansville central gets inside kicks it out and a strong take off the mark and a strong rebound by jacob pierce as reekers has it in the right wing gets inside spins back to his right great move but off the mark offensive rebound by daniel murphy and could not get that one to fall and rebounded by reakers again and they finally get a shot to fall that's how you stay with it right there two offensive rebounds and a two-point layup again so tight ball game here 5 15 to go here in the second quarter 17 17 is our score i think each team's woken up now they finally get the pregame jitters out and kind of just settle them down to a group of things here it looks like i definitely agree with that i think evansville was i think evansville was awake to begin with but east just had a little bit of that that quarantine uh quarantine defect they just had to come out and wake up a little bit after being off so much silva takes a three big three ben silva fourth three gives the olympians a one-point lead with 4 35 remaining to go here in the second big shot there he just stepped right into that one and fired it away and sank the three-point shot three-pointers like that will maybe stretch out the bears defense to try and get some driving lanes and kick out threes as gina murphy picks up the rebound and he's gonna take it all the way and off the mark kind of fooled him there thought he was gonna the defender was gonna take a charge they've done that a couple times now the bears have they look like they're going to initiate some contact whether that be with a with a foul or a charge and they just kind of step away it's an interesting tactic but it's worked so we'll take a short break and hear a word from one of our sponsors columbus auto group with a commercial by them why is the columbus auto group the number one destination for your vehicle needs it's the no vulture zone duh our sales staff is 100 welcome back to the orange pit as after a timeout taken by coach shooting the olympians as it is olympian basketball with four minutes to go here in the second quarter one point ball game in favor of the olympians as boyer has it passed it off to murphy on the baseline is reekers so far the olympians have been doing something that i think they should have been doing from the beginning and that's keeping their starters in for almost the entire game and it's been working so far they've only had one sub as daniel murphy gets that one to fall and can convert on the n1 if he converts this free throw here [Music] number 10 blake hearns picks up his second team's third and the free throw is up and good olympians getting some momentum here 352 left in the second let's see if they can continue that going into halftime that could be big for the olympians down the stretch as blake hearns takes a seat that is a big blow for this evansville bears team as he's one of their leading scorers here as they get it down inside kicks it out in the corner down low to 21.

julian johnson johnson is definitely an athlete he likes that low post you can tell he's been that's where he hangs out most of the time he's going to hang out down there i think the referee definitely needs to take a look at three seconds for sure i don't think he's violated yet but he's gotten close a few times and a strong take there by number five dylan moore's see if the olympians can answer back here as pierce uses the screen from boyer and boyer's gonna take a three up and good tyler boyer for three assists from jacob pierce big shot there to put us up five with 250 to go here in the second quarter tyler boyer comes in averaging 25 points a game quite a bit of points for a high school basketball player as that goes off the foot of evansville and we're gonna have another sub julius daly and for will reekers let's see how the subs can do with the starters out here see if they can keep up that same energy to start us abroad tonight as the long jump shot is off the mark and rebounded by 23 brady keto maybe not the best shot selection there long two nobody could have stepped back out for a three if you're gonna shoot something like that as tyler boyer picks up his first foul and teams first and will put number five dylan mears at the line four two and it hit back iron and off the mark he gets one more shot here and it falls so one point on the trip there for evansville central as general murphy passes it to jacob pierce back to boyer in the corner to silva daniel murphy spins to his left kicks it out so jacob pierce 4 up and in and out but a rebound and an offensive foul committed by 34 julius daly i think he may have he may have extended his hands on that rebound i think i look like he may have done that so number 11 is taking the ball out gabe goodly and dylan mears is bringing the ball down he's had some crucial points and minutes off the bench for this evansville basketball team as well as julian johnson number 21.

he really hasn't scored much but just his presence on the court as that's stolen by daniel murphy and he misses the dunk wow that would have been amazing i know he's worked awfully hard on that to get his vertical up as that one goes for dylan mars excuse me mirrors and a wide open julius daly threes up in off the mark and put back off the mark by daniel murphy and he's going to pick up a foul i think the olympians just need to slow down a little bit they're getting ahead of themselves here and real reakers checks in for silva daniel's first team's third 121 remaining to go here in the second quarter the energy's definitely picked up a lot here in this second quarter by both teams as pierce picks up number five and we're going to have a offensive foul a legal screen may be committed by the bears yeah i said the legal screen whenever he was coming off the drag i think that i think the screener definitely i think moved over a little bit on the screen and london morris is checking in a six-foot guard senior and sexton in for julian johnson he will take a seat i think all four of the five starters are in for this bear's team might finish out this first half there's a minute left i think the olympians might hold for one but we'll see what happens we saw that last night holding it for quite some times kind of a difficult task here so we'll see as murphy kicks it out to daley he passes it to pierce and he dribbles to his left kicks it to murphy on the left wing in the corner is boyer back to murphy 40 seconds on the clock in this second quarter as reekers passes it to daily here zach might be right holding it for one last shot but a defensive foul committed by with 29 seconds on the dot to go here in the second quarter jacob pierce is looking to take the ball out and murphy sets a screen for boyer and murphy will end up getting the ball here with 25 seconds to go on the clock and he's going to drive inside kick it to boyer and julius daly that was close to the half court line there zach olympia's got to be careful they've made some risky passes in this past minute they've seriously held the ball for a minute and a wide open layup is off the mark and almost rebounded by julius daly but seven seconds to go here see if evansville can get a shot to fall as casey bartholomew's going to check in for boyer and krase bergman will check in for daniel murphy this could tie the game or take the lead here for evansville olympians brought the subs in to try and prevent some fouls for their starters jump stop one second and a travel violation but 0.1 seconds on the clock you can't do anything with that one so the olympians will go into halftime with the two-point lead so there we have it folks our first half the olympians up two 26-24 zach what was your take on that first hat well i was glad to be back to announcing games that was a fun game to call really tight really up and down type game with lots of energy so so far olympians up by two going into back to the live stream here for 25 remaining until the start of the second half i'm here with our cameraman colin phillips colin where do you go to school at i'm a freshman at ball state university and what are you majoring in at ball state i'm majoring in digital sports production i'm also part of a program called sports it's where we do all of our own sports covered coverage for every single sport at ball state ranging from football to soccer to swimming men's and women's everything you can think of and we do it all we produce games for espn whether it's basketball baseball soccer swimming we shoot highlights we do cover stories anything you can think of we do that so i've noticed you've been working you worked for espn a couple football games what's been your favorite thing to do for them during the games my favorite thing to do is definitely shoot highlights that's kind of the most basic answer but it's true you get standing on the sideline you get a camera you get to be around all the players obviously this year is different we can't get as close or as personal with them but it's still just as fun to be able to be down on the sidelines and what's been your outside of that what's been your favorite memory so far going in after your first semester of college my favorite memory from my first semester is definitely the crazy mac west uh division title game um it was you probably saw it on social media or on sportscenter the crazy ending i was actually a part of the media and the players that ran out on the field too early so that was definitely the craziest memory i've had for my first semester well there you have it colin phillips our camera man thank you so much and we are three minutes away until the start of the second half welcome back as you can see evansville central is already out warming up two-point ball game here i'm sure coach walker has given them some halftime adjustments here so zach what are some halftime adjustments you would do if you're uh evansville central try to beat this olympian team um if i was them i'd try and see who's gonna be the best defender for pierce so far they've had really no answer for jacob pierce so far and maybe double teaming maybe put their longest best defender on them i don't know they've got to figure that out and make someone else beat them so far for east they have not come out in the court yet the clock is paused at three as by hsa rules have to wait for the other team to come out but oh actually it looks like they're coming out here right now so clock started and but yeah so if i was east um i would definitely try and still get the ball to pierce and see who's going to be some complimentary pieces around him today pierce has it so far and maybe see if boy or murphy will be able to compliment him try and get some more points for the olympia to grow that lead and come out with a victory tonight for the olympians scoring wise dania murphy with five ben silva with three will reekers with two jacob pierce leads away with 11 and boyer with five so quite a bit of people at least in the scoring column but we always hang around in the first half it's second half's been our problem all season so i'm wondering if coach shooti's really emphasized that let's finish a ball game here let's get on the winning column and get momentum going into they have a game saturday and then north they reschedule that one for tuesday so two big games back to back kind of if you say so so this one will be a huge momentum booster i think for this olympian basketball team i think for east the third quarters have been all right i mean they've been up or been in a close game but it's really been the fourth quarters that have just been the downfall of this team so far this year they have just not been able to look like the same team in the fourth quarter as a game so what once the fourth quarter comes around we'll see what type of team they want to be today just like i mentioned the game for saturday against greensburg is still on for this olympian basketball team are we going there or i think it is there i want to say so i will double check that one and tuesday night was supposed to be a freshman and jv game against martinsville but martinsville is in red due to covid so they are going to reschedule the northeast basketball game so that will be played at columbus north with all three teams playing and i'm sure we will bring you the live stream here see a crosstown rivalry if i had one of those in a while due to covid so i wonder when it was last time that east has won in football and both basketball teams beating north that should be i wonder when the last time that happened was under a minute to go here 40 seconds on the clock as a player zach i always hate at halftime you know you get something going and then you go into the locker room and take a break and you're trying to it just messes with my my mental or i should say zach what's your take on halftime you know halftime when we played football i think halftime for me was just was trying to get warm that's really the so the main reason why i i wanted to go into halftime was just to warm up because most of the time we were just cold and you got warmed back up and coaches it's also mostly for the coaches they kind of make their adjustments and try and get back to what maybe worked and see what see what they need to improve on so we'll see we'll see coming out of halftime who has the energy so there we have it half time is over evansville central will get the ball to start the second half and here we have it two-point ball game in favor of the olympians let's see if they can get the three-point shot working here that is evansville central as a great catch there and he stays with it gets a couple offensive rebounds and finally draws the foul and puts number 21 julian johnson at the line for two something i noticed he's able to jump and get back right on his feet and jump again he's very athletic and definitely it shows right there on that play right there let's see if he has a shooter's touch though at the free throw line yes it is up and good one point ball game ain't you see what that noise is behind this jacket what that sound is as that shot falls and ties the ball game up all evened up at 26.

i was stumbling a little bit out of halftime because there's a loud type of noise coming from our from our back right there's a and one from will reekers it's just it sounds like something in the air duct system if i had to guess i'm not exactly sure but it's loud and kind of throwing us off a little bit i'm not sure if viewers at home were able to pick that up coming out of our mics but um hopefully that goes away soon as london morris checks out and number five dylan morris comes in a quick sub for this bearish team as reekers gets the n1 and gives him five points on this afternoon's ball game zach as a former bastard player yourself would you much rather play in the evening or kind of the 2 30 start because i feel like at seven o'clock you're sitting around all day well now it's different because normally you would go to school yeah i was gonna say exactly that with school i mean you don't really have a choice you kind of have to play that late but if it was in like the like the afternoon like this and you don't have anything else to do i think i think an afternoon is a great idea you get you get your game done in the in the afternoon you have the evening to do whatever you feel like you want to do so i think afternoon games are definitely something that should be implemented whenever there's no school as that three-point shot by the bears was off the mark and kick out in the corner two piers great no look pass there and pierce gets baseline kicks it out to boyer for three up and off the mark and a strong rebound by blake and that gets knocked away we have the numbers there three on two murphy in the corner 4-3 up and in and out and it's tipped but we'll go to evansville central man those could have been some big momentum and point swings for the olympians there just can't convert really close in and out on those shots as number five came off the bench here in the first half and in the second but he played quite a bit of minutes there in the first half from what i've seen he's been one of their one of their best ball handlers our main ball handler that's probably why he's probably playing here as the speedy reakers gets inside and off the mark but kept alive by tyler boyer gets the put back and boyer gets two points seven points for tyler boyer tonight so far the olympians have kept that energy they had in the first half coming out strong again in the third quarter 72.3 points we've averaged on the season i don't think we'll get quite there maybe close to it 31 points here with 5 55 remaining to go as 21 picks up the foul his third julian johnson and reekers gets to the right block and gets a spin to go will reekers five points here in the second half as the free throw jump shot excuse me he passed it off as blake hearns has the ball he's been quiet but he also got in foul trouble early on with i think he has three but he's one of their go-to scores as he fires a long three and off the mark and johnson gets it and slams it home julian johnson with the slam you can see that when he got the rebound he was looking to do that as soon as he got the ball that might be a momentum changer there normally those dunks get your team and bench going so let's see if that helps them come back into this lead as boyer passes it to virginia murphy and off the mark and rebounded by reekers and he kicks it out to boyer a basket here for the olympians is could be a good idea to try and level this momentum as murphy loses control of it and a turnover by the olympians and we're gonna have a sub 34 julius daly and for will reekers 33 28 4 30 remaining to go here in the third quarter i want to thank you guys for tuning in once again to this live stream we've had a great hand this excuse me great game on our hands tonight this afternoon i know i keep on saying tonight too but i know as great ball movement there by the olympians the seniors with the work bears again tried to do the pull the chair out technique looked like it's going to be contact didn't get any and pierce is ready for and able to convert on that layup as that shot falls for 23 brady cato as silva looks out of three but passes it off to julius daly right wing boyer has the ball great pass there kicks it out sue silva who hit one in the first and he does so in the second ben silva four to three people there from the olympians pass inside to the post and boyer knew where silva was going to be didn't even hesitate and got right to him right in the breadbasket for an easy wide open three nothing but net see if the evansville central bears can answer back as they were made quite a bit of threes in the first half but not so much here in the second as number five gets inside and throws up a shot a strong rebound by boyer throws it up court to julius daly he jump stops and off the foot oh bad call there i think by the red it was a close call from my angle i think it hit on four hit off the olympian's leg but the referee had the right angle on it i think coach chad's gonna try and argue it's not sure i couldn't really exactly tell what happened it was close as london morse checks back in for evansville central 2 55 to go here in the third quarter as blake hearns as the ball uses the screen and maybe one use the screen to get the mitch match up watch the lobby as 23 fires the jump shot up and good 23 brady cato with the backs excuse me with the bucket six point ball game timeout taken by evansville central it's kind of the worst thing to do zach you stumble up your words on live air and you gotta hurry up and correct yourself yeah it's not a good feeling but it happens to the best of them so if i'm right now if i'm east in this huddle coach titty definitely i think you're in a good position right now let's see if they're up by six with 244 left if it'd be great if they would be able to get this lead up to 10 going into the fourth quarter that'd be pretty big four points in high school basketball with the amount of time you play it's kind of a little bit bigger than playing in a college or college or nba setting so high school four points instead of a six point lead is definitely something to warrant as silva will take the ball out with daley and murphy will come down to help and they get it into murphy and back to silva silva crosses over behind his back great move fires up a three and off the mark and rebounded and kept alive by daniel murphy boyer takes the look out of three and short and rebounded by blake hearns and he's gonna push the ball down the court and finger roll scoop and score and pierce picks up his dribble and almost a turnover and murphy kicks it back to pierce he takes the three up and off the mark and a strong rebound [Applause] by murphy olympians getting a little trigger happy right now with the threes definitely think they should consider maybe slowing down and try and work go ahead and do what was working for him in the first half and that's moving the ball and getting good open threes seems like these threes are a little bit too rushed as you get inside the reekers and pierce great move gets inside floater in and out and rebounded by 14 london morris blake kearns has the ball and the corner passes it to the wing three ball is off the mark look good from here but two on one fast break great pass and reekers four to reekers has had a great second half scoring wise for the olympians as that is blocked by silva but a whistle looks like it might be ben silva picks up the foul maybe contact with the body but it looked like he got all ball on that one i think he got all ball with his hand he may have had contact with his body i think that's what the call was for 1 30 to go here in the third quarter 4 to 30 40 to 34.

yes that shot is no good and we're gonna have casey bartholomew check in for silva and chris bergman for silva so four seniors on the courts for this olympians it's one of their strong suits is having a bunch of seniors on this seams leadership is key i think in high school sports as reekers gives it to pierce in the corner he takes a three and off the mark and there you pass it down the court and number five will draw the foul dylan mears goes to the line a hard contact fall there those are always hard to do when both teams are running down the court full speed and try to stop on a dime it's kind of hard to do with 117 remaining to go here in the third quarter as will reekers picks up his third i mean excuse me his first as that shot falls and gives him a four-point lead excuse me down four and he gets a second to fall and we're gonna have a sub number 23 brady cato and for julius johnson who had a great third quarter there for the for the bears looks like a full court press manpress look for the bears see if the olympics are able to break it and we gotta foul wow 23 brady cato his first team's third 113 to go three-point ball game back and forth we've had tonight just like last night zach a great game until the fourth quarter and they get it over half court and gives it to bergman a minute left let's see if the libyans elect to do what they did to end the half and that's hold the ball don't know if that's correct tactic here but we'll see as bergman has it gets inside and kicks it out to reakers 45 seconds to go here at big shots here before the olympians will put them either up five or six to go into the fourth quarter as bergman has it 30 seconds on the clock and passes it to reakers and pierce has it passes it to bergman 16 seconds to go here here we go zach called it last shot here casey passes it two reakers great hesitation floater up and great good half he's been great defensively and offensively and there we have it folks the olympians are gonna go in to the fourth quarter with the five-point lead and i will send it over once again to our columbus east cheerleaders cheerleaders macy kors shaylee derringer colleen davis elizabeth decker emma edwards eliza lewin alyssa murray carly shaw hayley smith sandra shrika camilo wilson and taylor young your head coach for your olympians hannah moore let's give up votes for your honesty's cheerleaders and there we have it our columbus east cheerleaders scoring for the olympians through three quarters murphy with five silva with six reekers with a solid 11 points got quite a bit of those here in the second half jacob pierce leads away still with 13 and tyler boyer with seven good stack keeping malcolm saw him doing his points that's all i got it's too hard to keep up the fast-paced game i agree this is gonna be an awesome eight-minute stretch of basketball here let's see who's the tougher team and can able to close out this game see if the olympians hopefully it's then the olympians are looking for their first win of the season i'm sure they want to get this done as reekers gets that one tipped but in the hands of pierce and he's gets the shot up and off the mark and a rebound by 23 brady cato and blake kearns is dribbling down the court hesitation gets inside finger roll up and no good but he does draw the fallon will be at the line for two free throws pierce has not looked the same since the first half he's not been very sharp coming out i think he's maybe trying to force things a little bit i think he just needs to calm down and maybe look to facilitate to his teammates a little bit more like on the last play there he had a couple people open as sophomore number 10 blake kearns 6-3 as the second one is off the mark did not get any points there on that trip bears have not been too efficient on their free throws this evening as casey bartholomew gets inside and throws it back to reakers bergman gets inside and he's going to throw this shot up and off the mark and he hit that one last and it will be bears basketball and julian johnson checks back in and daniel murphy checks in and as long with silva so the starting lineup tonight and for this olympian basketball team i have a feeling that this is going to be the lineup the rest of the quarter i don't think there's going to be any more subs unless for a foul or maybe just for a quick breather i notice every time julian johnson ends daniel murphy's guarded with him i think daniel murphy athleticism is very underrated yes as johnson has it murphy picking him up blake looks at a three he's hit quite a bit of those here in the first half but i don't think he's hitting one here in the second as johnson has it passes it to blake uses the screen pulls it out takes the three up and off the mark offensive rebound by johnson and gets that one to fall julian johnson 4-2 as silva's picked up by blake and silva pulls it out at the volleyball line passes it to pierce right wing in the corner silva at the top of the key is the boyer murphy two reekers silva comes off his screen and gets it hands it off to reekers here behind the back gets inside he's been money inside all night and he gets that one to fall strong take from reekers he's been what pierce was in the first half just been really strong takes and great execution 13 points for him and a three taken and an off the mark way off there by 24 kaden bird and transition three jacob pierce off the mark but rebounded by silva reekers who's been hot and just like that three-point made will reekers [Music] 16 points leads the way will reekers has stepped up big time here in the second half 30 second timeout taken by columbus east 538 remaining here in the fourth quarter zach you mentioned closing out games it looks like they're doing that so far yes they've been able to execute on their shots and they've been pretty strong defensively you hear the cheerleaders in the background i see my old basketball coach coach john john wilson coach if you if you see this the replay shout you out you always bring the energy a key note number 35 mark kwan swanigan one of their key players for evansville central bears is not dressed as long with ben major for the olympian so two key losses for each of these teams but the olympians have really had many guys step up what may not be scoring but defensively or just their presence being able to draw defenders to get people open it's part of the team game people really don't realize how much team stuff actually goes into games and a great move julian johnson could not get that one to fall but he'll be at the line for two as daniel murphy picks up a foul just took it straight to the room with his athletic ability i mean that that is a rare si i've not seen seen a player that came in quite a while with just his pure raw athleticism one more foul committed by the olympians evansville will be in the bonus what's 5 22 remaining if this trend continues with the free throws i mean that's not really a factor at all they have they have not really converted very well with their free throws this could be a lot closer game if they did and he gets the second one to fall 47-39 up court to silva and he's going to slow it down might be a good call there and out of bounds olympian basketball 5 15 to go here in the fourth quarter and silva throws it back to reekers and pierce has it back door cut to murphy great cut there and he kicks it in the corner two reakers gets baseline floater up and good once again will reekers that boy is hot right now 18 points coming in almost to 20 points as blake looks out of three but dribbles it up great communication there by the players there you can hear the olympians fans getting into it here cheering on their team and off the mark rebounded by boyer in the corner pierce back to reakers just let reekers go to work it seems like here in the second half just let him do his thing and i think he has 16 points here in the second half as dingy murphy gets the shot to this fall ability starting to show up for east see if they continue it four minutes left in the fourth a stop here in a big shot on the other end for the olympians might just be a huge blow for this evansville central team and daniel murphy you know he was about to go and try to slam dunk that one one more time he wanted that one i don't know i don't know if he had the correct angle on it he might have but it would have been close i think they had some guys coming in from the middle court to try and try and counter that but he may have been able to and they get it in two boyer 3 50 to go here in the fourth quarter you can definitely see evansville central's defense kind of pick up as they're trying to come back and boyer draws a foul and puts him at the line for two the worst thing as a visiting team is when you lose and have to drive back home so two hours and 45 minute drive back after a loss it's gotta not be a good feeling for this team if they don't come back here and there's things that you know you can control like making free throws they miss a lot of free throws here that might put this game a little closer here and some of the shot selection here in the second half has not been good i don't personally think for evansville as a three ball is up and off the mark and a fight for the basketball and finally kept alive by evansville multiple bodies going everywhere and they finally get it here and he's going to take another one and a block by tyler boyer close call there i wasn't able to see what happened i had a player standing right where my angle is i didn't see if he slid or not but probably the correct call so there we have it east excuse me evansville central is in the bonus here looks like he made this shot zach so he's at the line for one i did not i did not see the shot fall either but i was i lost tyler fall to the ground i didn't even see the shot go in i guess it did great take there by dylan mears 321 to go 10-point ball game as reekers crosses over gets to the left and boyer looks to get inside back to reakers great pass there and tipped and out of bounds olympian basketball and they get it all the way to jacob pierce with three minutes to go here olympians inching closer for their first win of the season as reekers pulls it back out that's one thing that's been evident it's physical it's been a very physical game one thing i've noticed here in the second half the olympians have done a great job is keeping this the court spread wide open for people to drive in and have open lanes is that is off the mark is that rieker's first miss of the second half might be he's been hot and the three ball is off the mark great box out there by silva to keep julian again let's see if deana murphy what he's gonna great move and could not keep his feet there and boyer gets it and gets the shot to fall tyler boyer for two nine points for tyler boyer definitely close to a travel on from that last last possession there i think he might have kept his may have kept his foot down i not sure it's close could have gone either way some of these rafts some of the stuff the coaches tell them that i give them some credit just to keep their calm personally i don't think i'd be able to do it yeah as a fan watching colson pacers game sometimes sometimes it's best that i'm watching the game at home on tv especially the last game against the steelers that was i got pretty heated 220 on the clock 12 point ball game in favor of the home team the columbus east olympians scoring for the olympians murphy with seven silva with six the one and only will reekers with 18 jacob pierce for 13 and tyler boyer with nine pretty pretty even distribution of points don't you think oh for sure and then we're gonna have maybe boyer can get one more shot to fall three players in double figures that's pretty good here in high school basketball with only eight minute quarters 215 on the clock here east just needs about two or three more stops and they'll be able to close this one out as the three ball is off the mark but rebounded by 23 brady cato and gets this lead back to a 10-point ball game silva cuts to the middle gets it and back to reekers and a great move there by pierce as daniel murphy hesitates and definitely going to kill some time off the clock here with no shot clock it's the best thing to do here and boyer cuts inside and off the mark could have been his 11th point and jacob pierce is going to take a block foul a strong take there by jacob pierce close to being a charge definitely should not have counted he initiated contact and then he shot it bears trying to argue that he was shooting when he initiated contact right call by the ref there and he converts the first one players saw the n1 counted but the refs thought otherwise as the second one is up and good 134 remaining as the ref dropped his mass there i think yeah evansville i think called a timeout so 134 to go here full time out zach you will send it over to our commercial here to hear a word from our sponsor columbus auto group why is the columbus auto group the number big stop there bye central want to have number 11 gabe goldly in for this bears team this is a big offensive series here a three-point shot could be huge here get it within five julia johnson has it three-point shot is up and off the mark and comes right to number five dylan mars and a full-time out taken once again by evansville central north looks like we're gonna have number 14 london moore's check-in for this bears team this olympian's team does not need to lose focus here as they have 124 remaining to try to keep this lead alive and here we have it our columbus east cheerleaders eh so zach i didn't get to watch the pacers game but i saw they lost did you get to watch some of it yeah i did they just kind of lost focus at the end they had possession where they're down by then i think two and they just kind of lost the ball and then they had another possession where they just lost the ball again so they just kind of lost their focus at the end kind of what he used to do right now but still a manageable lead and hopefully they would recapture that focus for the last minute 24.

looks like evansville is going to bring their press here as they get it into tyler boyer back to silva and to the left-hand side is reekers a foul committed by number five dylan mars and civility will take it out looks like they're gonna hit reekers on the other side of the floor here and it looks like the olympians will be in the bonus might be putting in some shooters here to get some more option for offense reekers who has been red hots here in the second half as he gets stopping to fall 19 points for reekers can he get 20 510 junior guard will reekers and he looks at his 20th point there he has it 20 points for will reekers looking at a three-point shot maybe here taken and blake hearns takes the three and off the mark great rebound there by reekers and he'll be at the line again for two free throws excuse me the one-on-one the ref for evansville central coach walker really wasn't happy with that foul but you see there's that i think he has a fair reason to be upset that looked like a poke job from five to get that ball out and i think that's i think he has a fair argument a little reeker's looking at 21 and 22 points here and he gets that one to fall would you give him the player of the game award tonight here zach yeah i was looking like pierce early on but as as the games kind of progressed i think it's definitely should go to reakers he's been been the reason why this game is the way it is up to 22 now right 22 points correct and off the mark and silva with the rebound and he's going to be at the line for the one-on-one if i'm not mistaking reekers have had 20 points here in the second half excuse me no he had five in the first half still quite a bit of points evansville central's last game they ended up losing by 10 as well so as silva gets that one to fall silva with seven points and silva with eight and a long three from the volleyball line blake kearns gets that one not to fall in a long rebound and another three up and off the mark and rebound by boyer and that might be all she wrote here in the orange pit and a foul committed [Applause] by the bears 30.3 seconds remaining here this will be a great way to kind of end your break here for these young men as they are going to pick up their first win and that free throw is short i think pierce might be a little bit tired he's you know everybody's had the hiatus and he was kind of bringing that energy in the first half but fatigue may be a big factor as he doesn't convert there as blake's gonna get inside for some maybe garbage points i should say as blake kearns gets the two-point basket to fall with 23 seconds on the dots remaining here in the fourth quarter 21 julian johnson timeouts like that or just just kind of say to your team you know be smart don't do anything you know stupid and just just kind of finished it came out uh sportsmanship was foreign and there we have it our columbus these [Music] cheerleaders at 6pm varsity contest at 7 30 this saturday hope to see versus greensburg no shocker there evansville's going to come out with the press and reekers gets it in and gets it to daniel murphy and he will throw it and draw the foul there would you have done that zacker pulled it out and just let the time run out i'll probably just pull the pull the ball out get the game over with but maybe he just wanted to status pass stat is pat's excuse me he's at seven points so he can get nine points here at this strip and this is the first substitution 11 golden number 20 elisha singer back in for the bears and miss both of them there as blake gets two points there and that will seal the deal tonight here [Applause] and there we have it folks your columbus east olympians wins their first game of the season with a score of 61-53 over evansville central bears evansville's falls to two and three and the olympians go to one and four on the year a big win there for this basketball team zach what was your take on tonight's game well olympians finally got the first one of the season they had a really good game really good game plan and they had some unexpected players step up for him rakers had a fantastic game pierce had a strong first half and fell off in the second half he did not come out the entire game i don't believe so he may have been a little bit fatigued but you know just a good overall game for the olympians no way they can build on that going into the going into the rest of the season so some stats for tonight junior murphy seven points ben silva with eight and the one and only will reekers ended tonight with a strong second half and gave him 22 points on this afternoon's game jacob pierce with 13 and tyler boyer with nine so a great all-around win for this olympians basketball team so the olympians will be back in action saturday at greensburg and then you have the crosstown arrival against columbus north so two tough opponents there we all know about columbus north and who they have so we want to thank you guys for tuning in this afternoon any last final words there zach uh we'll probably be calling the tuesday game correct i would assume so yeah maybe some help with some north people but okay so there we have it i want to wish you guys all a happy new year and hopefully you guys are safe during the holiday and that's all she has for colin zak and i have a good rest of your evening i should say and enjoy the weekend and be

my [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] welcome to greensburg community high school we're here with girls basketball action tonight and our championship game of our holiday invitational tonight we have the home pirates wearing blue tonight please note that against the visiting noblesville millers noblesville is a very formidable opponent tonight as they come in 9-3 here's some of their recent opponents on december 28th they beat avon by a score of 59-52 and also beat northwestern high school 67-41 starting the year they played against lawrence northwestern whiteland homestead hamilton southeastern mishawaka marion brownsburg and fishers just to name a few they come in with that record of 9-3 losing to homestead fishers and westfield so a very strong opponent for the pirates tonight coach moore uh yeah and and from what uh our limited scouting report here what we're going to keep our eyes on is the sophomore guard ashland shade just doing a little bit of research here about noblesville obviously and not very common opponent for us but ashland shade has many and multiple division one offers already as a sophomore and watching her warm up you can you can certainly see why she's got a lot of bounce in her step and uh she looks like she's a very smooth shooter yeah you talk about her offers this is an article that we found from july of she has offers from michigan state vanderbilt iowa mississippi state illinois marquette maryland and also schools like indiana purdue and louisville and i just think that's that's not the complete list so it's pretty impressive that a young kid like this is getting several offers and having a choice of where she wants to go future's obviously very bright and we're going to see her talent on display tonight let's see if the pirates can interfere with that and cause some disruptions yeah and you know then it bodes a question of you know has ashlynn ever seen a defender like molina wilkerson who is extremely quick and and is a division one athlete herself so it'd be interesting to see how coach simpson uh matches up with ashland what they try to do uh and then on flip side how what does noblesville try to do to stop the dribble dry penetration that uh greensburg put on display this morning and then uh anna west having certainly having a phenomenal game this morning with uh with 18 points so um you know greensburg is it needs to be reckoned with in themselves but we're going to take care of the basketball and play very good defense and rebound yeah i watched him in the semifinal game this morning and they are going to come out and trap and pressure greensburg right from the stop from the start and they will not let up they'll put shade out at the top and most of the time in a 1-3-1 zone and they'll try to get you in traps and try to get you in pressure pressure situations where you're uncertain about your decisions and then turn the ball over and create easy opportunities on the other end we will see if greensburg can handle that defensive pressure and at the same time it'll be interesting to see how they match up with shade to slow her down i would not be surprised if taylor cooney spends some time on shade as well just because she's proven to be a very fundamental defender and then on the flip side of that they have another sophomore um brooklyn smitherman who is six foot five um you know don't know where she is as a basketball player but she's six foot five so certainly rebounding and having a presence in the paint is going to be very big for them that is very true very very formidable opponent and we'll see how greensburg matches up looks like we're going to get ready here for the national anthem and the starting lineup so we will step away and then we'll come back right after the national anthem smaller [Music] [Applause] wow wilson andy the lady members are coached officials for all right everyone we're back after the national anthem and our starting lineups let me run through those for you first for the visiting millers of noblesville number 12 as we mentioned earlier ashlyn shade number 22 reagan wilson number 24 mallory miller number 30 through 33 brooklyn smitherman and number 43 emily wood and for your hometown pirates number 20 taylor cooney number 24 jenna foster number 32 molina wilkinson number 42 anna west and 44 carly adams got it in just in time for the tip as noblesville takes it looks like jenna foster is going to face guard number 22 reagan wilson taylor cooney starting off on shade see how the pirates defend the picks if they're going to switch or try to fight through good start rebound good start there's noblesville trying to come out in the 1-3-1 and molina is on the attack to start it's okay aggressive take ended up not working out for the pirates as it bounced off molina's leg noblesville ball as they bring at the full length of the floor 7 29 to go in the first quarter yeah taylor cooney has started on number 12 shade and there's jenna foster guard number 22.

pirates come out in the standard man-to-man as taylor cooney guards the ball skip pass over the corner tried to feed the post and it's out of bounds off of white going to the pirates good call by the baseline official there coach yeah he looks familiar noblesville talking a little statistics here ashland shade averaging 22.4 points a game 131 half court trap there's molina attacking the rim coach i want you to notice as this game goes on did you see how greensburg attacked the middle of the floor and it created an opening it's going to be key i think in the future as they attack the trapping zone there's shade pulls up for a 16 foot or no good offensive rebound to noblesville up and also no good good rebound by carly adams as she looks for the outlet to taylor cooney as she handles the pressure here in the three-quarter court she brings it up splits the trap looking kicks to the wing ball intercepted by noblesville shades bringing it up pushing the tempo taking it at anna west and misses melina wilkinson with the rebound as pirates go the other way certainly early on looks like a little bit more like a track meet up and down the court not a lot of baskets being made and 24 takes it by anna west and lays it in that's mallory miller for two points noblesville in the 131 once again out of bounds off noblesville it remains pirate basketball pirates break the trap bring it up in the half court there's another trap ball pressure's getting the pirates right now we're they are not adjusting very well to the ball pressure shade for three got it taylor cooney for a 16-footer off deep and ann is there to clean it up and put it in noblesville looking to push pushes it up the right wing kicks it back surveying up top and they slow it down turnover by noblesville on the carry there greensburg ball on the side as they look once again to face this trap pressure let's see if they can handle it molina doesn't buy off the dribble kicks it out to taylor cooney cooney pulls up again not no good long and there once again for a great offensive rebound and put back six to five pirates pirates rush back on transition defense noblesville looking to push 4 30 to go in the first quarter 6-5 greensburg there's shade with a nice take that's her fifth point of the game cooney trying to bait the trap gets it across and notice how noblesville stays in that zone trap even though they're in the half court they're constantly trying to trying to create disruption and pressure good hustle there by jenna foster got number five jayla jones checking in for mallory miller i did notice in the morning game that number five coming off the bench is not afraid to shoot to three if they don't close out long on her their the pirates are gonna end up taking it out of the net jenna looks to the middle molina to carly adams carly skips it good ball movement anna west thought about it got the ball deflected noblesville looks to push pull up jumper no good carly secures the rebound you think it's safe to say that ashland shade has the green light i think that is very safe two-point attempt no good there by noblesville as taylor gets the defensive rebound and pushes anna west catches and finishes nice job as jason simpson takes his typical 30-second timeout in the first quarter just to kind of right the ship here and assess where they are in the game as the pirates leave 8-7 here early on we talked about noblesville a little bit earlier just to give you more inside information about who they are and what they're like we talked a lot about ashland shade but they do have a six foot five big in the middle number 33 brooklyn smitherman and also number 22 reagan wilson that have been dominating their stat line uh we we cannot sleep on those two players as they are major contributors for the millers and you can see the pirates uh game plan was they're going to face guard the wilson girl with jenna foster so obviously they have scouted that and are going to try to take that option away taylor cooney trying to stay with shade noblesville reverses the ball takes a look no good taylor tries to cut off the penetration shade pulls up short no noblesville with the offensive rebound got to have that ball good hustle by carly nothing there pirates try to try to rush and get get the defensive rebound carly adams very active on the boards today oh how about a foul there sir nope that's out of bounds charlie adams hustling like the effort that was that was a good possession by carly even though she could not ever secure the basketball you can tell she was committed to that defensive possession nonetheless it's out of bounds off noblesville ball belongs to greensburg the way the the pace of this game grant you start to wonder depth of the bench people are going to get tired second game of the day how are both teams going to be able to handle this pace i you know what we actually referenced that point last night boys game because the boys last night faced a lot of continual pressure even though that pressure was in man-to-man but same concept tonight as the pirates face the trap noblesville gets an easy bucket chair jones with two 208 to play eight to nine noblesville lead [Music] greensburg trying to show some patience here taylor switched the trap and draws the foul and will shoot two fouls on number 32 32 correct danny menendez taylor going to line to shoot two let's see if taylor can knock in a couple here next time i'll keep my mouth shut we would appreciate my bad thank you my bad on that 154 to go in the first quarter eight to nine noblesville's lead i've made the no in my broadcast notes here don't speak when taylor cooney she's free throws it turns out it's a good result noted noted here duly noted please be quiet pirates try to stop the millers and half court defense here good poise by the pirates anna's trying to cut it off cooney's got a pressure and yet keep shade in front of her nice job there anna moves her feet that's off of blue staying with white i might have called that a little early but i hope the ref saw it the way that i did coach moore i i like it yeah give you a straight shirt and a whistle let's go probably not a good idea in most circles but three-point attempt by noblesville and she buries it mallory miller with her fifth point of the game 12-9 noble's the lead jenna foster out top reverses it to molina wilkerson coach simpson's yelling out some type of instructions for breaking this kicks it out molina thought about the three but changed her mind swings it to taylor taylor look skips it jenna foster now with it pirates are moving it around making noblesville work that's foul on number 22 reagan wilson first wellina's aggressiveness there caused the foul now the pirates have it out of bounds underneath their own bucket another thing i noticed in the morning game the millers will be in a 1-3-1 trap and a half court but they match up and out-of-bounds underneath so the set that they run will determine um how greensburg scores and once again aggressive play by molina will get her a trip to the charity strike that is caitlyn shoemaker who just checked into the game her first foul molina going to the line shooting two 43.6 seconds ago in the first quarter 12-9 noblesville's lead melina gets the second one to fall and now the pirates are going to come out in a 2-3 zone just to kind of mix it up a little bit bear certainly know where the shade girl is on this and not get her to not get lost in the corner i would not [Music] got to board it gotta board it nice good hustle anna good play got taylor with a double drill but got a little fast there for it but let's see if the pirates stay in 2-3 21.7 seconds to go in the first quarter i'm trying to listen to coach simpson instead of commentating on the game because i'm interested i'm interested in the strategy here at the end of the quarter nice good solid defense by get in there get in there oh couple good defensive possessions there in the 2-3 for the pirates as they mix it up as we close out the quarter here noblesville 12.
