greensburg pirates 10. leading scorers for the pirates you got taylor cooney with one molina wilkinson with three and a west solid first quarter with six and then for the uh the millers of noblesville you have jayla jones with two ashland shade with five mallory miller with five that should equal 12. you know what five and two i didn't major in math for a reason so we'll just go with that true story you know i observed in the first quarter there a greensburg pirate team that was ready to play getting used to the pressure and then hopefully the adjustments in the second quarter will lead to easier buckets and you know and once you get through the the awe of playing someone like an ashland shade uh i think things start to slow down for you a little bit you know because she's only one spot one person on the floor she's on the point of that one three one which is probably a little intimidating with her speed and their athleticism but once you beat it you know attack the hoop like we have been we just got to finish some points i think with the spirit of competition too um i hope kids relish in that opportunity yeah she's a good player she's on the top but let's find out what happens when somebody takes a tour yeah how good a player are you yeah you know let's find out what we're made of let's let's go out there and compete and see where the the score lands after we give him a rest shot it'll be no blizzard ball to start the second quarter notice the pirates go back to man-to-man go back to the bread and butter what they feel comfortable with i would not be surprised to see coach simpson mix in that zone occasionally though especially since they had success that girl is goodness there she is you said it you said it at the beginning when she checked in she is not afraid you know my sources sources told me earlier that she could shoot it so i got blind luck there i guess you know the one thing i noticed grant is is how active noblesville's hands are in our passing lanes a lot of tip balls a lot of balls are getting not on the line we wanted to get you're 100 right earlier when you said shade is the leader of that her length her activity on the ball i think leads the defensive philosophy of what noblesville is trying to do and you can tell that's their priority they're looking to create just deflections and create disruptions see we got here number three caitlyn shoemaker that's her second hey that last possession that the pirates had they were patient they didn't get a good look there was nothing wrong with that they they showed they could handle the pressure and it turns out ended up being a foul noblesville's up to 5000 and a half still in the bonus after a couple more they just need to be patient be strong with the basketball smitherman checking back in the ball game cuny brings it out foster on the top with it receiving some token pressure coach something check into our motion offense there's cooney back with it molina looks at it for a second now she's looking to reverse ball swings the other side of the floor there's wilkinson coming off the screen one dribble pulls not her best effort there noblesville gets a defensive rebound and looks to push it up the floor 6 40 to go in the second quarter 15 to 10 noblesville good battle for the rebound there as greensburg comes up with the 50-50 ball and another foul on the millers that is the team's sixth foul next one will be in the bonus greensburg has zero i was going to say it and then i thought you know what i don't want to jinx it don't want to sound like a home job here but well we here at gtv do not believe in the the homer rule good to know wouldn't be more surprised if i woke up my head sewn to the carpet scott tis the season that it is edward i don't know who jalen's talking to over there but he has got a lot to say yeah i'll throw a little shout out to the manager to the gtv people helping out for the game tonight much appreciated absolutely they do a great job here we are pirates once again facing the pressure cooney handles it ball fakes throws it in the middle throws it over molina wilkinson anna west trying to race back and stop her and unsuccessful as noblesville lays it in that is mallory miller's seventh point of the ballgame turnover by the pirates 17 to 10 noblesville's up do you notice how the the turnovers just kind of build into the built into the flow of the game really takes away from any kind of momentum the pirates have ball screen jenna foster goes underneath we got to get these gets by with it there's molina she's going to attack 22.
not used to playing this early in the morning I think the energy that the teams come out with is going to be really important yeah I I think these first few possessions are going to be crucial looks like Southport is going right to a two3 Zone which I think the lady pirates have seen quite a bit so far this year Taylor Cooney with the basketball navigating kicks it to the right wing Jenna observes Cooney kicks it to Wilkerson she takes it in for two [Applause] and I think that's something Molina is going to have to do she's going to have to knife through use her quickness and speed to get to the hoop good defense and rebound by Anna West she throws it to Taylor Taylor pushing the basketball up the floor and it goes off Jenis fingertips out of bounds Southport basketball Miranda Dean bringing it up passing it over to Maddy new house just a bit short must be a breeze two3 once again for Southport over to Molina she kick kicks it top of the key Jen is looking kicks it left giving a look inside didn't like it Molina muffs it she kicks it back to Taylor Greensburg showing some patience here trying to get that zone in motion and finding a good shot good one there off by Molina Taylor with the offensive rebound and she's going to the line to shoot two GRE when attacking a a two3 Zone like that how important is it the dribble drive versus the skip pass well I think they're both effective you have to have spacing and anytime in the zone you can get two people guarding the same person there's obviously someone else open and sometimes you do that you find that person with the skip pass or with dribbling the ball the middle of the floor and finding the open person two free throws up and in by Taylor Cooney Southport now pushing the ball up on offense good pressure there by Taylor Taylor who signed at Grace University yeah she did she signed her letter wona Lake very excited to continue her playing career there got several girls on the floor right now who have extended their playing careers Anna West going to go play uh volleyball uh and uh Molina W wierson signed at Ohio State play softball yeah Ann is going to go to Walsh which is in Canton Ohio I believe yes it is division two yeah I've heard it's a wonderful school I have some family up that direction that said a lot of good things about the place also home of the Football Hall of Fame coach yeah there's Molina taking it aggressively grabs the offensive rebound cannot get it to fall Southport looks to push Taylor gets in the way there now Southport settles in trying to find their own good shot oh we got caught on a pick there and it didn't rotate on the switch Taylor with the defensive rebound she's pushing and takes it all the way cannot finish with the left hand Southport secures the rebound looking to push it up the wing Molina interferes and knocks it out of bounds you know if you've never seen our girls play the one thing that will stand out is the speed of Molina Wilkinson she creates so many pass deflections and steals in the game that you know it's it it makes it difficult for offenses to get into any kind of Rhythm whatsoever I think it's I think it's speed for Molina but there's also don't undervalue the anticipation and the Natural Instincts that goes along with their speed that was Gracie Cherry for a three ball was that way downtown it was pass over the top Molina thinks about it now she skips it back over Taylor for three off the rim rebound by Southport they look to push and transition offense feeds the post she spins oh SWAT Town nice block by Anna you went to swat town on me yes Greensburg slows it down here the two3 Zone will do that Greensburg is not in a hurry they know they can get their own good shot as Molina kicks it off her foot out of bounds coach Simpson calling a quick 30- second timeout I'm sure to discuss how we need to attack that two3 zone a little more effectively here at the timeout let's talk about some statistical leaders for Southport so you get to know them just a little bit better they are LED in scoring by number 11 Dean she's a junior she's scoring at a clip at 10 points per game rebounding they're led by number 35 new house their their tall gal in the middle she's has 6.8 rebounds per game I it jumps off the page to me that she's also averaging close to three offensive rebounds per game got to watch that as as the Pirates try to you know secure rebounds finish defensive possessions and limit Southport to just one shot per POS possession Southport ball on the far end how how difficult is it to play in a tournament where you know you got to play two games in one day do is that in the back of anybody's mind that you're going to have another one to play today regardless of win or loss I I think some kids can have that mentality I think coach Simpson's job is to just tell the girls to take up one game at a time take care of your business that's in front of you and you know hopefully they're conditioning they training will help them be fresh and have enough energy for game two in the afternoon and the winner of this game will take on the winner of the newal and Noblesville game which to my knowledge Noblesville must have a girl on there who is pretty good they do they do um I believe she's um either been offered by several different schools or already committed to someone already um it'll be interesting to see her play and how how good she really is Southport back in a two3 Zone Pyro same reversing across the perimeter as they had in other possessions before skip pass over the top Jenna picks it up over to Cooney Cooney looks reverses good Jam in the post let's see if Anna can finish nice play there by Anna she buried the defender underneath the basket got good position and is now going to the line for two the fouls on mdy new house her first her team second [Music] you know I've I've had the opportunity to watch several girls games today or this season and Anna has I need to need to look at this she has improved remarkably on her free throw percentage it's good you say that since she made both of hers yeah I would say it regardless that she made both of 100% on the day she is dribble Drive gets us number three CCE Mitchell with two points she is five of six for the season from the free throw line so doing a nice job there Greensburg once again attacking the two3 Zone Wilkerson looks nothing there Cooney has it she's looking Greensburg very patient another swing pass that's a nice aggressive play by Taylor notice Coach Moore how Pirates mov the basketball back and forth and it creates openings in the zone and Taylor was able to exploit that by dribble penetration and get it inside that's Maddie new new House's second foul looks like we have Jan CER getting ready to sub in first one up a good by Cooney CER in for Jenna Foster and Maddie neous has also been subbed out due to her second foul of the game Cooney with two more Taylor with three points on the on the morning so far looks like Southport run running a version of dribble weav or hand out handoff looking to see if the Pirates can get confused on switch they do not there Carly Addam picks up the steel Taylor kicks it up to Molina Molina has a hesitation dribble and they get her for a carry I did hear Southport coach talk when with Coach Simpson before the game and he said his top three girls have not played a game yet this year nor will they due to injuries oh so that probably explains a little bit of their 2 and 11 record there um you know tough tough when you lose any player but when you lose your top three that's really difficult yeah that's too bad that's too bad you know Silver Linings with everything maybe some of these kids are getting experience now that'll help them you know next year make a run and be better yep nice block there by Southport on Molina they kick it out and transition they right now have a three-on-one can they capitalize number three CC Mitchell with two points that's her fourth Point Jenna Foster set the check back in 9-7 Southport lead with a minute 30 to go Cooney has it kicks the top to CER CER gives it right back to her they're looking to get some kind of action going here there's the ball screen Cooney takes the mid-range off the front of the rim no good Southport defensive rebound pushing it Southport once again showing patience 20 man Gracie Cherry with her second three-pointer of the game to seven she's shooting with confidence squared up got that shoulder around and knocked it in Cooney for three off the rim no good off the Pirates out of bounds Southport basketball 43 seconds to go in the first quarter couple Subs in for the Pirates Foster I didn't see who the other one came in who has it it is erus number 50 em erce yeah good for her getting some minutes here Pirates are not switching on the dribble Drive weave good rebound by Anna West see if the Pirates hold for one here or if they try to get a quick bucket we're down to 10 seconds here Anna has it in the middle ball is deflected turnover and Southport pushes ahead and throws it out of bounds 4 seconds left here in the first quarter we have a set for this coach four seconds to go length to the floor well they're sitting in their two three zone so probably going to drible down and shoot it that would be the set I would run riveting coverage there here we are at the end of the first quarter Southport it's up on Greensburg 12 to7 Greensburg is uh points Anna West had two Molina W Wilkinson had two and Taylor Cooney had three Southport CC Mitchell had four Miranda Dean had two Gracie Cherry had two big three-pointers for six points coach you referenced earlier that Southport is 2 and 11 I don't want that to mislead our viewers here uh Southport plays obviously up in Perry Township in in Maran County they played Speedway Indianapolis Ritter decator Central Franklin newal who we'll see later today Columbus North Bloomington South Perry maridian Bloomington North bbff Lawrence Central Ben Davis and ter South so they played some 4A schools sprinkled in with some 3 a in there and they're coming out 2 and 11 at this point but uh that they're having a good showing here so far in this first quarter they can show they can dribble drive and kick it out to Shooters so Pirates are going to have to adjust if they want to uh get on top of the scoreboard here yeah 100% you know hopefully uh our girls weren't looking past this game at all um you know they need to get a little focused a little motivated here and uh creep back in this thing Southport ball to start the second quarter you know when teams come out in a two3 Zone it can really it can slow the opponent down I think that's done that with the Pirates here I look for J Jason to make a lot of adjustments here to increase the pace get some more possessions Molina Wilkerson on the rebound pushing up to Cooney no surprise southwards back in their two- three Zone there's three by CER ni oh in and out good quality shot though no harm there good play by Jenna Foster yeah good hustle one thing you're going to get out of a foster you're going to get hustle that's for sure that's for sure it's too bad that Jenna has to you know feel the wrath of her brothers all the time but that's okay it's part of growing up oh we got caught on pick the Picker glad they oh glad they recovered Southport shot it missed offensive rebound BS it in three off the backboard for number 11 right back against the two3 zone you know probably for Southport The two3 Zone makes a lot of sense since we're not really hitting anything from the outside as long as you can rebound and rotate and not give up easy ones it's going to be effective and I say that and there goes Molina two points I think most of the times in basketball comes down to the defensive end if the Pirates don't have to take the ball out of the net and they can push in transition they won't even have to go against that two three Zone y 640 to go in the second quarter Pirates down 15 to n what a skip pass good shot by Taylor just little long Southport has it they're trying to swing it as coach just [Music] said there's number 11 again Off the Mark Jenna with the rebound quickly to Cooney oh off of Molina's foot out of bounds I like the idea though it's a great part about Molina's game is that she's aggressive and most of the time it works out in her favor every once in a while she does lose one or miss one but that's okay I also think it doesn't ever deter her from to continuing to do it oh no she has the same mentality every possession which is awesome because that's what you have to have you can't get frustrated or or lose that aggressiveness cuz that's what makes her special absolutely got to grab it good she kicks it to Cooney Cooney up to Wilkinson here She is again Stutter Step no gets her own rebound two points Rand Dean Southport gets an easy bucket there as they lead 17 to9 with 5 minutes to go here in the second quarter Pirates facing this two3 Zone and really haven't cracked the riddle yet have they no there's a great pass nice job two points for Anna West nice pass from the top by molinaa nice find by Molina Wilkinson timeout Southport got Anna West with four points Molina with four points and Taylor Cooney with three CCE Mitchell for Southport with four Miranda Dean with seven Gracie Cherry with six the big thing that stands out to me Grant is Southport has hit three three-pointers and and we have not hit any yeah I think that comes off of Southport dribble drive you know they're running a handoff continually we're showing that we're not switching it what which I think is fine but when we help we haven't been able to recover to the shooters yeah it is South port's ball out of bounds they have to go the length of the floor after the timeout coach Simpson is staying in the half court not picking up full court yet you know I've seen the girls a play a couple times this year and they they do have a like a 131 half court trap I wonder if some point you know you you use our length and and you get into that as a little bit of a switch up well that's deep that was a heat Checker yep heat check off Cooney looks kicks it to Molina Molina's on the top now which we don't see often there she throws it in Anna West for two nice pass nice finish I don't think they have an answer for Anna down low if we can keep pounding it to her because their big girl Matty Newhouse is in foul trouble with two 13- 17 Pirates down four with 4 minutes 20 seconds to go Molina cuts off the dribble Drive kicks it right back to 21 Southport looking nice nice take there by number five Miss nle nothing there Southport picks up the loose ball off the turnover they push find oh how many steps do she allowed today however many she wants I guess they're getting us on the offensive rebounds right now offensive rebound short ball out of bounds to the Pirates Ern this back in for Adams and 25 Brianna Reed coming in for Gracie Cherry no surprise Southport stays in the two3 let's see if they find Anna here again don't need to jam it in right away just after a couple reversals Molina tries to Slither in there no finish Cooney up and off the rim she's going to the line to shoot two I do like the way that Taylor and Molina both are attacking the basket they're they're drawing them in and getting them to get in some fouls get into the free throw line yeah I think his players they're sensing that the Pirates are a little stale on offense and they're trying to be the leaders on the floor and make something happen this will be Taylor's sixth free throw attempt makes it she's five of six Pirates have trimmed the lead now to two with three minutes to go here in the second quarter Southport stain with the dribble Drive weave looks very similar to the Harlem glob Trotters yeah not quite as many tricks on this one though true number 11 Miranda Dean with another two points as coach Simpson yells help there was none there and Southport gets an easy two nice pass and a misses picks up her own offensive rebound and gets fouled on the putb certainly making it a point to try to find Anna down low number three that is her second foul CC Mitchell I've notice coach just one official he's got a lot of aggression when he reports to the scores table it's loud clear um very precise we call that a no doubt oh yeah he wanted the whole crowd to know that the foul was on red I don't know if that sound came through us but it was it was aggressive big big call and a two for two Anna has eight points of Greensburg 17 I don't want to jinx her on the free throws but I have noticed her form is better her confidence is better and it's resulting in in a higher percentage for her and how much of shooting is confidence probably 93% you know what I mean like as as much as as much as you like to shoot who is that on record from you or who quoted that you that that's on record for me okay just wanted to see if you're going to own that comment Taylor causes deflection picks up the loose ball oh nice good smart play by Taylor she puts the ball on the floor so she can get up and now she attacks looks over to CER she finds Wilkinson oh she thought about it then she's taking it in ernis on the rebound the offensive rebound nice pirat tried to settle in just a little bit Skyhook Anna West there is not many kids I believe in girls basketball across the state that are going to interfere with that shot with Anna's size and her technique 19 to 19 Greensburg has crawled back into it ooh it's going to be a foul on Taylor Cooney oh no that's on Ern yep called the push before the collision at the end of the play she's not on our roster I'm going to have to have a conversation with someone in the athletic department I think you know who to take that too Southport out of bounds underneath their own basket gets it into number 21 getting caught up on the oh it's going to be her second foul Emily's good good aggressive report there I feel like he's the only dude making any coughs one minute one second to go in the second period all knotted up at 19 Molina on the ball Taylor gets the defensive rebound she's pushing the ball up the floor finds CER cmer gets blocked Southport has it now pushing up themselves nothing there looking for three three short offensive rebound Southport out to 25 Reed she misses Molina picks it up and now she's looking to take it the distance nice play by Molina good for two on the transition offense there by Molina Molina Wilkinson has six points now on the day Pirates take the lead for the first time I have we had to lead at all I don't think so now that you say that Molina good hands Molina creates another disruption she's looking to draw the contact and two nonetheless she finishes with the left hand very nice Molina with eight points in this game 1 second no foul good close to the quarter as we go into halftime Pirates surged and take the lead 23 to 19 we will be back right after halftime [Music] hey [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] oh a [Music] he [Music] he [Music] oh [Music] he [Music] he [Music] hey [Music] he [Music] he [Music] hey [Music] back here live at Greensburg Community High School getting ready to start the second half remind everyone that Greensburg kind of had a late surge there at the end of the second quarter and we're up now at 2319 I think coach Simpson has to be pleased with how we closed out the quarter still need to kind of figure out how we're attacking this Zone and how we defend better um but overall got to be pleased overall being up four yeah um you know being down what 10 at one point uh it it's it's good to uh to battle back and and take a four-point lead uh coming into halftime um you know you know both teams were in the locker room quite a long time so I'm sure making their looking to make their adjustments and and uh coming out and looking to be strong here in the second half to finish out the game you know once again to give our viewers a glimpse of Southport schedule this is their sectional they are in the Ben Davis sectional and they will face Ben Davis Ron kie Perry Meridian Pike Decor Central uh as possible opponents intersectional so um no slouches there nope no slouches there and we're not we're not surprised by Southport performance here today Southport coming back out in the two3 zone oh there it is there's the lob play to Molina Indiana and she catches but cannot finish good contest there Southport secures the defensive rebound shoots the quick three nothing there off defensive rebound by Southport out for 321 that's her third three-pointer of the game Gracie Cherry with nine points all three-pointers she may be able to shoot it coach yes sir down to Anna leftand turn what a shot by Anna West if we had instant replay I would throw that one back up there that was a nice nice right shoulder turn left hand baby Hook by Anna West she now has 12 points I know a coach has been working on that with her so it's good to see it's paying off Gracie Cherry first two-pointer of the game for her she has 11 I'm looking here coach she shot or she has been shooting 23% from the three-point line so she has taken 65 of them throughout the course of the year so she believes she can shoot it and that's coming true today after making three of them ball down to Carly Adams good smart Play Good pace PA here by the Pirates didn't want to force it reversing it to Jenna Foster back up top to Cooney nothing there trying to regroup Anna is going to or Molina's going to ball screen over to Taylor Cooney trying to jam it in and that did not work out the way they wanted ball out of bounds to Southport 2524 Pirates lead with 6 minutes 19 seconds to go in the third Jenna Foster on the ball here as Southport tries to enter their offense ball on the wing Cooney guards gets a deflection off red definitively white ball yeah I'm not sure if that comes through the speakers or not but that was a commanding call there by the official Molina drives in kicks it out to Cooney looks at the three thinks about it got Molina on a push offensive foul that's her first I'm not going to get into the critique of the officials but I did not see that I did not I did not see her extend or anything there I thought she just spin dribble but nonetheless offensive foul and turnover to the Southport Cardinals there's Molina makes up for it and she's going to have a right-handed layup and she puts it in that is her 10th point you were referencing Molina's mentality notice she had a bad break and she just decides well I'll make up for it in other areas and gives us two buckets in return you know and I think sometimes to her credit um she needs a little something like that to get her motivated a little more she gets she gets a little upset about a call maybe she didn't feel like she did and then all of a sudden she turns the Jets on and uh sure two quick steals four quick [Applause] points two point attempt by Southport off the rim Taylor with the defensive rebound looking to push crosses over and it's deflected out the other way quickly two points CC Mitchell that's her sixth point on the morning that sounded awkward you said on the morning yeah jump ball should be Greensburg ball good Hustle by Carly Adams there number 44 Southport ball out of bounds on the Baseline oh thought they had the ball at half did they not you know I'm doubting myself right now so I'm just not going to comment nope you're right Greensburg had the ball my bad I was wanting to back you just didn't to insert myself in there first mistake I've made in 12 years oh gonna have Jan C checking in here in a minute Molina for three nothing [Music] there boy Good Help by Taylor that looked like a Magic Johnson attempt at a hook we call that a grenade oh and Molina in with the left hand she's been a real spark for the Pirates here Southport feels the need to take a full timeout here full timeout that is Molina's 14th Point Anna West has 12 Taylor Cooney has five I would like to know how Greensburg has had s some success offensively when they don't have to go against the Zone Molina's been pushing in transition and she's attacking the rim before Southport has a chance to get set up yeah I guess that you know the the easy thing to say is you you want to beat that zone get a rebound and push the ball up the floor before they get set yeah and it's it it always comes back to the defensive end Molina's done that through steals deflections pushing it um and off of Misses um from Southport so let's see let's watch how the Pirates uh what they do defensively and what they what they come out with as a strategy both teams have only had three girls score Southport has CC Mitchell with six points Miranda Dean with seven and Gracie Cherry with 11 may come down to some of the uh um other players scoring some points here to make the difference in the game on a side note my wife wants El raro for chill or for for lunch oh so good for you are you GNA go with queso or just straight salsa no chips and salsa oh okay are you offended by that question you know I'm not a I'm not a queso guy I don't know why I don't I don't know what the all the Hub up is about you're not a cheese on your sandwich kind of guy either yeah people need to back it up just just chips and Sala let's not make things complicated okay I ain't mad at you oh Anna West called Fancy footwork gets her to the line for two you can change your pivot foot six times but you cannot get bodied up oh they called that on Jana oops I thought they called that on an pass line that is Jana's first foul morouse had some foul trouble in the first half and now she's coming out in the second half trying to insert herself yeah Matty new house is one of three seniors on Southport team looking to break into the scores column there it is one point be curious to know if if Southport is a traditional two3 team or if this is a scout they've had against us and seen us struggle for some reason or um you know what the what the what the thought or the philosophy is here my gut would tell me both and here's why when you are absolutely devastated by your three best players out you're going to have to answer some questions on how you're going to defend people and the safe play a lot of times is to come out in a two3 Zone just to kind of limit the possessions and keep games close and it happens to also work out as a good match up against against Greensburg to slow them down a bit good entry pass from the top from Taylor Cooney to Anna [Applause] West her 14th Point Anna's had a nice showing today absolutely she's been stepping in hard and catching and finishing well you got West and Wilkerson both with 14 Points each good help over there from the backside by Cooney that's going to be new House's third foul and it's a shame that you pick up your third foul and you're 87 fet away from the basket yeah I used to get yelled at about that so I stopped playing defense good play showed them yeah you you proved your point did you prove your point on the bench uh it was a moot point at that point in my mind though I was like you know it's all right that always caused me to find my way to the bench an a West another nice left-handed [Applause] shot 21 for three good board by CER the percentage is kicked in there coach yep Molina goes in and tries to draw some contact and is unsuccessful ball out of bounds off her Southport is going to inbound it on the Baseline in for the Pirates number 50 Emily ernis she comes in for Carly Adams 150 to go in the third period Pirates up eight Molina denies there causes a little disruption she yells out switch she's stay seems like to be a little bit of an adjustment from the first half second half the Pirates are switching over the top of the dribble weave you know it' be I that is Molina making the switch I wonder if Jason wanted to make that adjustment a half or if Molina is trying to be more aggressive and doing that herself Jason's now giving directions to his team about matchups out there good switch there putting Emily ESS on a smaller player that's Molina's second foul Anna's guarding a much smaller player doing a nice job keeping her in [Applause] front Levan takes it in unsuccessful grab it Taylor secures it and she's taking it to the house unable to finish Southport with the rebound they look to put push there's Molina good job Southport no good good Hustle by Molina and Emily earis with a good strong rebound and she in turn gets fouled by Southport Steve Holland on the call there you know what I don't disagree yeah pretty close to resemblance yeah not sure about Mr Holland's basketball knowledge but nonetheless official doeses look like him a little bit Pirates once again attacking the two3 Zone skip pass by Molina over to erce nothing there she kicks it out looks like we're get caught standing just a little yep oh okay that was an R1 button there it looks like Jana cmer on top surveying over to Molina Molina they're okay taking the last shot here of the quarter oh coach Simpson called a timeout he's going to run up a set here you know in these timeout situations as a coach Southport has been in two3 the entire game so coach is called clearly called a timeout to run a set to get a bucket it'll be interesting to see if Southport in turn comes out and tries to trap the ball or comes out matches up for possession or does something really off the wall just to throw off the set simps is dra up cuz then it almost makes that time out not wasteful but not as effective it's part of the strategy of coaching here I'm sure Jason is uh smart enough and experienced enough to figure out that hey I may draw a set that's pretty versatile against a couple of different situations looks like it'll be CER taking the ball from the sideline and notice we have Taylor Cooney on the wing and the ball's being inbounded to Molina instead they definitely came out in a different Zone one 2 two and they're trapping in the corner not yep nice call by Southport right there good switch up gave the Pirates a little bit something they weren't ready for 2.1 seconds to go in the third quarter shoot it from way out oh Cooney from downtown with the three and you know as you look back at that possession they had 2.1 seconds and and Taylor was able to let the ball bounce before touching it Y and she was able to get closer Southport was so used to sitting in that zone that they didn't come up to pressure the ball and in turn gave a good quality look to Greensburg at the end of the half that gives Taylor eight points on the morning Wilkinson has 14 and Anda West has 16 Pirates up 38-27 as we look at the stats for this season want to give some highlights for you while you're looking those up CC Mitchell six points Miranda Dean seven points and Gracie Cherry 11 points Matty NE housee one point going into the fourth quarter Pirates 38 Southport 27 so on some stats here three-point percentage here we'll start with that since Cooney just hit that long three Jenna Foster is 50% from the three-point line for the year she hasn't had a lot of attempts Jana CER Is 375% Molina Wilkinson's at 30% from the three and Taylor is at 23% scoring overall Taylor Cooney has scores 12.6 points a game Molina's at 20 points a game and Anna West chips in 12.4 no surprises there as that's our three leaders and the and the three important pieces for our successes Pirates we'll look at assist and some other statistics here in just a minute Pirates going with the same five that ended the third quarter yep and Southport is back to the two3 Zone notice the adjustment out of the timeout that was made for that one possession you know coach I'll ask you they're playing a two3 zone at one point did the Pirates say you know what we're up 11 let's just go out and hip it and and we're going to stand out there and make you come out and guard us CU I think everyone in the gym knows that if Southport tries to match up with us it's probably not going to turn out well for them I would say probably at the the four to five minute Mark I think if we're still up 11 four five minutes I think you see coach Simpson probably pull it out with uh Cooney or Wilk and say come get us and uh and and then we're going to dribble drive and attack you that's a bold move cotton yeah I I think uh I wouldn't be afraid to to hip it right now because I think that from a an individual standpoint I think we're Superior and with the the driving ability of Taylor and Wilkerson I'd make them come guard us are we hipping it right now without hipping it I think we kind of are yes um ah there's m shooting the three that's not going to help Southport cause any no 41-27 the Pirates are up by 14 Southport bringing the ball up against the floor bringing the ball up the floor against our man-to-man defense Good Help by Molina as they scramble close out on Shooters Anna good nice oh could not secure the rebound but good defense by Anna West nonetheless number three that was a little bit of a Euro Step there or something that's her eighth point on the [Music] morning Pirates being patient didn't hand sometimes your body moves faster than or your mind moves faster than your body and yeah I think Molina was going to rip that go to the Baseline and and go in for a layup and you know what that's one of those turnovers it it it happens throughout the course of the game she was being aggressive nothing to fault there just just didn't handle it well Carla Adams checked in for Anna West who probably needed a much deserve break three-point attempt by number 15 no good Cooney battling for the rebound her battle leads to Molina securing it and she's going the length of the floor and oh just missed it Outlet pass Tooney bringing it back yep Cooney has it she understands the situation and pulls it back CER looking back to Cooney Molina looks at The Rim didn't take it Molina for three off the back iron no good Southport with the rebound looking to push now with five minutes to go here in the fourth quarter they're down 12 Cooney gets in there good hustle and gets fouled no bonus yet it'll be be on CCE Mitchell her thirdd again the uh game after this would be newal and Noblesville the winner of that will play the winner of this game at 600 pm tonight Jenna Foster checking in for ernstes I believe the loser of this game plays at four is that accurate yeah do you have the handout on that so we can give our viewers the right information nope I don't and as we as we talk about this we're doing a live stream of the game that Greensburg plays absolutely but we're not doing a live stream of the other games correct correct correct so so I am we are not live streaming Southport okay again so whether they win or lose doesn't matter we are live streaming the Greensburg game only Anna West checks back in for CER Cooney bringing the ball up the court 4129 with 425 to go Southport in manto man for the first time tonight because they understand they need to and Greensburg appears to just throw it to the team in red and the team in red appears to just throw it straight out of bounds weird yeah that was series of events there that was a a tid different either way it's not good basketball no no both coaches are probably not real happy with those last two possessions I think Sam would agree with that over there on the side in the production crew yeah I want to thank the GTV crew for coming out on this vacation morning working some cameras and working switchers look at Schuman down there acting like he knows what he's doing yeah tough shot Anna West in from the short Corner nice finish that's her 18th Point 4329 in favor of the Pirates well that was a good finish there too CC Mitchell with her 10th point she's a sophomore she's played well today Carly Adams Adams no good off the back iron Southport with the rebound there's Molina and she finished you know one thing I've noticed in addition to all the great things Molina does with her hustle is she's really good with her left hand that's that's a good observation she you notice you even see it in the boys game some where a kid will have a breakaway and they on the left side and they're limited or the ball gets deflected because they can't protect the ball on the left with their left hand Molina is not scared of shooting with the left hand attacking and shielding her body shielding using her body and finishing with that left hand up and good that is her 20th point Pirates 46 Southport 31 fulltime out here so again the uh the next game is New Palestine and Noblesville uh the winner of that game will play the winner of this game at 6 p.m.
there's no doubt left hand nice finish you reference fifth point you referenced molina's left hand in this morning's broadcast she's very confident going either way and there you see it yeah it's very very impressive how how she can take it to the left side staying very fundamental in her layups 24 pulls from three again no good noblesville gets the offensive rebound and cash is in that's jayla jones's seventh point of the game good skip taylor cooney for three long and noblesville let one get by there could not secure the rebound out of bounds off the millers pirates take it out underneath i anticipate that noblesville will go man-to-man here 12-19 noblesville lead 4 36 to go in the second quarter anna with the jumper and could not get the bounce shade with the rebound she looks to push and looks to just take it oh she kicks it out greensburg sound in the transition defense as noblesville collects and looks to get a better shot curl by shade pop of the screen there by number 22.
tonight the losers will play at 4: here at Greensburg gymnasium do we have an official name for this place is it just our gym it's just the gym just the gym we don't have a name just the gym okay have a capacity of about 5,000 I know our football field has a name I just didn't know if our gym had a name no no name here other than having the the uh boys basketball state championships on the floor yeah there's a couple of them down there y girls runner up 20 uh 2017 2018 strong tradition of basketball here at Greensburg yep I will remind our viewers Greensburg is in the Rushville sectional this year it is back at rush and we I was trying to be trying to be professional giving a shout out to the coaches down on the bench saying hi to my beautiful wife down there um she's waving at us and getting embarrassed because she knows we're talking about her she needs to focus on the game yeah but um Greensburg is in the Rushville sectional with Lawrenceburg Rushville Connorsville Batesville Franklin County and South deerburn so familiar folks like the EA it's the way it's been since I've been here scottt that is nuts yep and that's what makes the IAC such a good conference it's balanced it's it's competitive it's fair for all the kids um it really is kind of a unique thing as as you travel across the state the the lady pirates already played at Rushville right they we beat Rushville at Rushville and that was the first win at Rushville in quite some time good gritty win early in the season for the Pirates oh you only get one set of dribbles there uh that that there is a violation that's all right you know what I like the aggressiveness I think Anna knew it soon as she put the ball back on the floor y Molina Wilkerson checks out probably done for for the game I would guess she finishes with 20 points nice nice about right at her average correct yep she averages 20.2 points a game nice morning by Molina absolutely she understood that we were a little stale offensively and her spark her efforts her her contributions to the game really made it difference in turning this game around go get it Jenna Foster senior Claudia Sims checked in for Molina and it looks like um yep number 40 Molly Richards is checking in for Anna West another another solid game by Anna West Claudia Sims senior for the Pirates good to see her getting some minutes here anna finishes with 18 points and I think was the key to getting us back in on track of of getting this separation in the game yeah Anna with her with her ability and size inside it would be nice it'll be nice to see how we use her against future opponents especially against quality teams I think the way the game is played now with the dribble drive and it's so focused on guard play when you have a big that's really capable inside teams really don't know how to defend that y yeah especially when it's effective with both hands the way and was today going right hand or left hand is is a is a huge plus he called Carly Adams on an offensive foul Steel by Claudia Sims Jenna now the point guard she's bringing it up the floor looking to see if she can go by somebody creat separation swings it to Claudia Claudia over to erus ernestus looks tries the post nothing there Jenna back swings around the right side of the floor insert there to Richards Richard up off the rim no good erns his hustles and off off Southport out of bounds pirate basketball underneath SAR sta into the game number 12 coming in for Carly Adams I know as a coach it is always a good feeling when you can get everybody in the game and and play some minutes because everybody's at practice they're all working hard they're doing the things they need to do to play as well and and it's always a good feeling to be able to dump the bench oh Molly Collins nice move did everything right but finish did everything right but finish 4631 with a minute 30 to go in the fourth quarter ernst's hustling as always almost created a steal Southport looking Pirates now transitioned back to the offensive side of the floor over to stap stap swings it to ernestus vation F what uh Grant what what is after today I know obviously we're going to play the SE at six what what's the next couple of games for our girls if the schedule holds up according to the co yeah um January 5th we're at East Central um and then we're at Franklin County and then the next game January 12th we host Brown County so we have two conference opponents um the next couple nights with January 5th January 9th and then back at home January 12th against Brown County and and I believe our boys are at Columbus East Saturday January 2nd I think is is the uh is what I remember you know what I I will look that up real quick you guys are at col Saturday yep just confirmed by Colin Ry Colin Ry decides to crash the party here with his folks what a good guy yeah me look like we're playing well uh yeah we are playing well good we had a good second half you guys just pick up anybody to help me out here imagine he does good over here he's we got Sam West on our camera switcher he is the brains of this operation out of bounds to the Pirates yeah I won't speak for Colin or Scott but he's got me beat for sure yeah so the boys are at Columbus East on January 2nd as col Colin reference and then they host Connorsville on January the eth which is always a tough matchup absolutely absolutely Pirates are going to close this one out here 4633 so Greensburg will be the evening game against the winner of newal or Noblesville and Southport will play at 4:00 against the winner or I'm sorry the loser of newal Noblesville for those people listening it will be a different link for the evening game the easiest way to follow is go to YouTube and subscribe to GTV Pirates and that way you get the notifications on when we're streaming and what we're streaming if you don't want to do that we'll send out the link through our high school Twitter account at gchs Pirates either way you can click that link it'll go to the YouTube channel so other than that we'll be back at 5:30 this evening I thought maybe you give a Manifesto here at the end of the game I got nothing oh you got nothing I appreciate you guys I'll give the closing here uh great comeback here by the Pirates as they win by 13 uh they attacked the 23 Zone and we're we're
noblesville swings it around and shade pulls up for the jumper and it's short noblesville offensive rebound and no good again and another scrum for the ball looked a little bit like rugby there for a second and we have another jump ball very impressive how noblesville crashed the offensive boards they are creating some more opportunities to get to get more points by getting offensive rebounds you know when i watch noblesville crash the offensive board like that coach what it thinks what i think of the pirates should do is they have got to get that rebound and then look to push the ball hard on the other end since they are trying to commit to offensive rebounds yeah let's punish noblesville for trying to be so aggressive 3 52 to go in the second quarter 12-19 noblesville lead got wilson bringing it up closely guarded by foster there it is not afraid to shoot it that's her second three-pointer giving her 10 points on the game yeah we might want to close out on her correct and shade with the easy layup after turnover in the backcourt for the pirates coach simpson is going to talk it over noblesville has doubled us up 24-12 with 325 to go in the second quarter let's look at some stats here during this time out for the pirates we have we have molina wilkerson leading the pirates and scoring at a 20.2 clip we also have taylor cooney at 12.6 points a game and then anna west rounds out with those in double figures at 12.4 points a game noblesville on the flip side we have the shade girl leading noblesville in scoring as we've referenced before at 22.4 points a game and then we also have some others that are contributing at seven and six points a game close to that glad that we have some fans on down there you know another thing you know same thing with southport um southport being two and 11 had played 13 games nobleville noblesville 10 and three playing 13 games so obviously not hit real hard scheduling-wise with with uh with the pandemic that's going on um you know every day we're hanging on to try to keep playing games and it's it's it's kind of cool to be able to see that teams are still being able to play quite a bit you know we were doing the broadcast last night of the boys game of course they're playing fishers and that's the exact same sectional for noblesville girls they have carmel fishers zionsville westfield and hamilton southeastern that's a pretty salty sectional anybody in there with a losing record no there's no no there is not so these teams are the class of marion county i would say for sure the northern part of marion county for sure but um impressive nonetheless foul on the millers by number 33.
smitherman that's her first that results in the bonus for the pirates this could be a big deal as we close out the half that the pirates can just be strong with the ball and get a couple of stops on the defensive end no good by molina on the one-on-one shade with the rebound looks to push and finds jayla jones with another two that's 12 points for jones coming off the bench too not even a regular starter 12 points that's pretty impressive you know if you're not used to this type of pressure it can get overwhelming yeah it can be overwhelming in the moment and it can be overwhelming by it just coming back and number five is um making it rain it up jayla jones is on fire out of bounds off noblesville greensburg have it out of bounds underneath [Music] uh let's see janae kramer or cummer i'm sorry checks in for carly adams noblesville in their man-to-man out of the out of bounds greensburg trying to get there good shot cummer in the corner and get a taste of what it's like to get that trap yeah you know and you're instinctive to want to throw it over the top and and it is tough to fight that battle especially with someone as athletic as shade that it you know you throw it over the top she she's so long and athletic and quick off the floor you know deflection it sounds very fundamental but players have to fake that over the top and try to throw it by their hip by the defender's hip and then molina wilkinson is blocked a lot of length there number 43 and shade crosses up and draws the first foul on the pirates that'll be a foul on taylor cooney the noblesville fans i think appreciated that 29 to 12 noble noblesville lead minute 49 to go in the second quarter taylor pressuring the ball good anna contests the shot and the shot is no good out of bounds off noblesville going to the greensburg pirates quote jalen woods there he said the ball never lies i felt like it's lied to me before yeah i feel so i feel that way too got a blocking foul on noblesville number 24.
mallory miller her second should take janae cummer to the line and shoot the bonus see if we can get some points here nice shot gotta stop the bleeding a little bit here some subs coming in 22 reagan wilson coming back in the game you know this is true of any deficit coach it starts with getting some points and then combining that with stops on the other end you never know if you pile a few of those together it could be you could trim the lead quickly have a minute and a half left to go in this quarter let's see if we can close it out with with some stops and some good possessions on the offensive end oh got an offensive foul yep illegal screen 43 that is emily wood her first minute 19 to go in the second quarter 29-14 noblesville there's a nice pass and johnny been a bit of a spark off the bench four quick points for janae i wonder if coach simpson will go to the 2-3 zone that's good there's jones again for three notice the difference though she was contested there on that shot good hand and good good there's jones again and molina wilkinson with the foul jones going the line for two that's going to put jones at the line shooting too first one up and no good jones has 15 of the 29 noblesville points three three pointers and three two pointers depending on what we score kind of like what you alluded to before pass fake up get around that hip yeah i think i think when you're facing a good competition there for a loose ball ball remains with the pirates i think when you're facing a trap or any kind of defensive pressure if you know you're going to dribble penetrate or you're going to pass you have to set it up with a fake in a different direction to give you an opportunity to attack the defense anna secures good catch and at the same time if you're not used to that that's hard to simulate in practice if you don't have that length if you don't have that athleticism you know i run into that football all the time if i don't have a kid that runs four or five it's hard to simulate that yeah that's not fair to expect your jv squad or your reserves anna west first free throw up and no good second one here notice how coach simpson just subbed never mind tried to get carly adams in off the second free throw oh oh nice i thought that was pretty good help over there by janae did they get it on here two shots for mendez here just as in any case here if mendez misses the second one let's be sure that we get the rebound here correct last thing you want to give up an offensive rebound right right closing minutes of the half adams coming in for west and second one up and good to 16 with eight and a half seconds to go there's taylor cuts open pushes up the side lane comer catches squares tries to sweep through clock ticking and molina gets it off and it's does not count nonetheless as we close the first half noblesville 30 greensburg 16.
we will take a break here for halftime and we will be back about a minute before we start the second half [Music] so [Music] 12 points [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] boy that's a great production job there by jalen woods put us right back on when the one-minute buzzer sounds uh impressive over there on the on the control booth over there jalen david woods good guy we're giving you a shout out on air yeah he's he's a good kid looking at the scoring for noblesville you got jayla jones leading the pack with two four six 15 of their 30 points ashland shade has seven mallory miller has also seven and then uh danny mendes has one uh for the pirates janae cummer has four taylor cooney has one melina wilkinson has five and anna west leading everybody with six you know as we discussed off air there for a minute coach moore i think the pirates have to be pleased with their half court defense i think a lot of the offensive opportunities have been created by their deflections and their in their ball pressure so uh the pirates come out look to be sound with the basketball limit turnovers and get good quality looks on the offensive end so be noblesville ball to open up the third quarter i think we finally got the scoreboard fixed on the uh on the old production here sorry about the first half had some technical difficulties got her fixed now so we don't have to say it every 30 seconds let's just blame it on schumann yeah noblesville with the ball here to start the second half they come out with a set with a staggered double jenna foster fights through nice work there ana trying to be sound straight up now to grab the rebound good competition greensburg ball with the possession there i'm assuming noblesville will come back out there 1-3-1 let's see what adjustments the pirates have made here and it creates a turnover yes it did jump ball goes back to noblesville it's amazing we've had two jump balls in the first 29 seconds of the half got rigging wilson going to bring the ball up the court for the millers what is a miller got any information on that um i believe it's like a minor isn't it in it like someone that uh you know what i'm gonna go contact our r d department to see if we can find out exactly what that is that's a good question coach yeah i know what a pirate is not familiar there oh there's no doubt there i've always associated it with um something like a minor and carly adams no good he thought about calling it but he decided not to swallow his whistle there here's this raisin high five shade two points 34-16 millers have extended the lead to 18 and just cashed in on a turnover and janae commerce is going to come into the game for somebody on the pirates quick 30 second time out here called by coach simpson you know what you know it's so easy to sit up here and try to dissect what they're trying to do against a one three one half court trap and on paper we can do it i'm sure coach simpson has done it but putting it in reality is something that's obviously much much different um you know looks like we're trying to dribble drive and hit it to the middle like you talked about earlier in the game but right now those long arms of noblesville are preventing that from happening yeah i think it's also it is easy to sit here and talk about it and it's another thing to face that type of pressure with that kind of activity and that kind of length that noblesville brings pirates come out matched up here noblesville running running a set against the man to man it comes over to shade she's looking noblesville reverses the ball and they they yell out a set here let's see what they try to run basket cut by shade she gets it squares up puts it up and in for two she's very active without the ball very very impressed at how she moves through the flow of nobleville noblesville's offense noseville knocks it out greensburg retains possession of the basketball to be out of bounds underneath their own bucket there's noblesville switching to man-to-man defense as we referenced before and greensburg are looks like they mixed up on what set they're running but got the ball in nonetheless little muff on the handoff as taylor handles the ball pressure kicks it over to carly adams carly kicks it back to her space trying to move without the ball and we have a reach in foul on number 24 mallory miller that's her third seems like our guards are getting caught dribbling into a trap and and again the long arms i think noblesville i know the noblesville fan base wants to talk about the foul count they are active with their hands they do reach in but they are the aggressors in the game and as you can see right there on that call they were holding on the cut jones checked back in the game and got our first foul anna west coming back in the game for carly adams see if the pirates can get an organized set here that's just travel yeah sorry i usually don't officiate on air that's good just leave that to the guys in stripes greensburg facing the pressure again this time it's jenna foster she kicks it out to cummer they need to get it across the 10-second line and they do molina aggressively kicks it to taylor cooney who shoots for three no good shade with the rebound she secures it and is now bringing up the floor for noblesville kicks it ahead and jones is fouled as she takes it up she's going to shoot two at the line that's janae cummer's first foul jones gonna go to line shooting two so the deficit was 14 a half time correct yes and it's now been extended to 20.
not the start for the first three minutes that greensburg wanted to see but if they can have one more run and then this game is not over no if noblesville wants to continue to pressure if you can handle that it's going to increase the number of possessions it's going to give opportunities for greensburg to score points and buckets if they can just take care of the ball and get good shots and little things like that grabbing the rebound getting the rebound secured and and it is easier said than done but it is little things that add up that make a big difference anna kicks it up the sideline to comer looks inside and that ball is deflected by 33. smitherman and there's a shot contested by west and molina secures the rebound and gets pushed on the foul we're going the other direction greensburg ball out of bounds underneath as we have a foul on smitherman's second foul smitherman yes i wanted to make sure i enunciated correctly there correct that's all you got is just correct good work yeah thanks and another deflection by noblesville as shade attacks good look kicks it to emily wood with her first two points of the game emily wood there's the trap again and kicks it into the corner to come her and she is in no man's land and she is out of bounds on the baseline noblesville basketball you know and i think coach meyer said it best last uh about last night's game against fishers um you got to go through these sort of things to show to your kids that where we got to improve at and where we got to get to to uh to get into the tournament and things like that because these things are going to happen again and you want to be able to experience them as much as possible so you can handle them at the biggest times there's molina pushing it and she gets nothing and it goes out of bounds coach simpson with the call here i heard it but will not say it appreciate it yeah i want to protect our scouting report and taylor takes it in right-handed off the glass third point of the game oh super sub off the bench number three caitlyn shoemaker you're gonna wear number three then you're gonna shoot it that's like that's just an unwritten rule isn't it is it uh ironic that i wore 33 in my career or is that you're a big larry bird fan or was it cream uh i do like the movie airplane but i am going to stick with larry bird roger murdock you tell your old man to drag walton lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes i couldn't resist with this cameo appearance i was probably a little bit more than a cameo oh yeah but he was a co-pilot yeah funny funny line nonetheless comer for three nice bottoms up that's janae's seventh point of the game she is leading the greensburg jones tries her luck on the other end that's her first three-point attempt at this half no good greensburg gets the rebound the lead is still 20.
there's cooney kicks it over to foster to elude the pressure foster splits the double team kicks it to cummer comer surveys nothing there and gets fouled i believe that's going to be on caitlyn shoemaker it's going to be her third man shoemaker has not played a lot of minutes but nonetheless still has three fouls she's getting her money three points and that is off-white staying with the pirates owen moore on the rebound good play there and looks to be an unforced air by the pirates noblesville pushes it up and shoemaker finishes and gets fouled it's going to be on number 10 janae comerhurst second turnover by the pirates there off of the pirates and it's noblesville ball noblesville inbounds it from the side shade brings it up enters the offense on the right wing there's a curl cut by the post she pivots turns shots short rebounded by anna west cooney cut off as she tries to push the ball up the floor pirates look ahead jenna foster catches it on the right wing there's taylor cooney trying to handle the ball pressure up off the glass no good noblesville back pushing in transition looks to jones jones one dribble up and good is that jones it is the senior off the bench he's having a nice night she's averaging 6.8 points a game and has well over that today yep anna west from the free-throw line no good and carly adams gets called for the foul for the over the back two minutes to go here in the third quarter the pirates are down 45-21 24 mallory miller checking back in the game for emily wood you know the nice thing about some holiday tournaments like this and sometimes the boys play in it you get to see teams that you don't normally see true three by shoemaker her second three-pointer of the game jump ball pirates maintain possession molina checking in for taylor cooney who needs a probably a much deserved break she's been chasing the shade girl around for most the game i would say she's done a very nice job on her absolutely anna has it at the elbow kicks to jenna foster cummer being aggressive and she takes it and gets fouled by jayla jones i believe that is correct number five janae cummer is going to go to the line for two coach you you mentioned that the growing pains of a season it doesn't help a team that they win every game by 20 and then they go into postseason play not prepared right it's good to see this kind of defensive pressure you know i i do think it's important for teams to have success but it's also important to to find out you know what you're made of and the pirates are getting tested the limit here obviously being down by by 27 now they'll learn and grow from this and hopefully uh take some lessons from it that they can apply to future opponents absolutely 24 the quick quick trigger follows her shot two points mallory miller that's what i call the chuck it and chase you chuck it up there and hope you get it back that gives your nine points on the uh you know the shot's so bad that it's going to come off the iron and you just go get it so there is number three shoemaker pushing it up the floor and gets it to fall it's her 10th point and molina molina tries to follow nothing there and she will shoot two after that foul noblesville by danny mendez it's her third you know that's that's evidence of molina's aggressiveness working out well for her there are times she gets in there and doesn't get bailed out but most the time you're going to live with her aggressiveness because she makes so many good things happen absolutely second shot up for molina and it is no good noblesville i don't have the stats in front of us but we have not been very good from the free-throw line tonight you know what that's a good observation we typically have we do shoot the ball a little bit better off the free throw line as noblesville just gets an easy bucket there in transition seems like things are coming very easily right now for noblesville you know we referenced earlier about noblesville being pressuring the ball and being fresh i feel like the pirates are starting to look a little tired molina gets one to drop there on a on a whirling dervish share i call those a scoopy doopy and noblesville misses at the buzzer here at the close of third quarter they are up 54-23 on the pirates but as i was saying coach greensburg looks like they are fatigued and tired and you know what you asked in the morning game about playing two games in one day what does that look like and i think it it could show itself when you have a team that doesn't play nine and ten people yeah and noblesville does do that yeah and right now greensburg's in a position where they're playing six and seven people so i think that might be catching up with them and um greensburg has been facing that pressure all all night tonight and catching up with them and we talked a lot in pregame about ashland shade having a lot of these d1 offers and whatnot but jayla jones is leading him and scoring with 17 coming off the bench it hit three big three pointers for him and and then shade is chipping in with uh 11 points um you know kaitlyn shoemaker here in the third quarter really turned it on and has 10.
uh noblesville finding the bucket and finding it often right now 54 points to three quarters that's that's that's pretty good basketball yeah and i i'd like to remember what the halftime score was but i think the third quarter they really had an explosion in the first half of the game i felt like the pirates could have been fairly pleased with their half court defense and now noblesville is really exploiting them on a lot of different levels jason goes back out with his core lineup here in the fourth quarter as they're down 31. um let's see if we can chip away at this and and also have some effort as we close out this game it looks like a victory may be out of reach but nonetheless opportunities for execution and playing hard are still available offensive rebound by noblesville they get it and number 23 that's number 23 mundy puts it in off the offensive rebound lefty everything always looks smoother with the left hand doesn't it oh yeah there is molina good strong take and finishes with the foul hey who do we have tonight i know you talked about your valuable gtv squad who you have on i'm working for you tonight coach oh we got uh the infamous luke schumann on a camera we got sam west on another camera emily million on the camera and then we got jalen woods running into production behind the scenes all these great shots are brought to you by jalen woods tonight we see you boy we see you um i will say being the principal of the high school um we will be back in session on january the 5th we're looking forward to having everyone back in the building we are still dealing with the the impacts of covet and i'm watching that closely but understand the importance of being in person for instruction and looking forward to having all the kids back and all the teachers and staff back in the building to do what's right by kids so looking forward to that it's a big difference when we're in the building it does everybody good for us to be in school so everybody do your due diligence to make sure we can stay that way yeah we understand the importance of that we understand the importance of relationships and want to do the best we can for our kids so just wanted to note that as molina takes the three and buries it molina's still playing that's good yeah it's good still competing there's no quit in that girl i wouldn't expect anything different shoemaker has got a quick trigger tonight coach and molina gets the defensive rebound and she is going to go coast to coast and she can't finish and noblesville is going to push here on their own shade kicks for three no janae tips the rebound can't get it noblesville has it and they look to be patient noblesville gets the defensive rebound and shade gets fouled and will shoot too that'll be cooney's second foul first one up and good emily ernst getting an opportunity for some minutes here with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter there's taylor cooney with the rebound she's bringing the ball up i guess shade 12 points on the evening and skip pass to carly adams she shoots the mid-range jumper and it's no good and unfortunate there that noblesville falls down and calls to travel notice noblesville has taken off the 1-3-1 they're going strictly man now i noticed that but they haven't taken their best player off the floor yet nope it's noted comer uh humber gets two points there that's right as the lead is cut to 27.
i'm sorry ninth can't do the math number 11 quick trigger no good greensburg gets the basketball inbounded to taylor cooney shade picking her up three-quarter court carly quick pull and no good off the iron and noblesville gets an e never mind scratch yeah my bad a little early there on the call shade gets it pulls up short ernst gets the rebound kicks it up to molina molina knows what to do she secures it kicks it to cooney cooney for three and it's no good foul is on the millers number 23. that's her first okay emily ernst is going for one on one rebound to shade bringing it up to court noblesville up and no good molina gets the rebound she is pushing the tempo and cannot finish smitherman with her fourth point of the game ursus for three get it all right buckets good for emily yeah good for her and shade gets to cross over off the front of the rim no good she's back spins and draws the foul taylor's third so i'm over here busy looking up what a miller is okay i just thought about that and i found an article here that talks about how there's someone that made a contribution to the program back in 1925 and in exchange for the contribution they agreed to call themselves the noblesville millers because this individual that donated the money was the president ceo of the noblesville milling company as the white river runs through noblesville and milling was a big part of the industry at that time back in the 20s so see listeners you guys did not think for a second you're going to get a little education with this broadcast tonight yeah i got distracted sorry there was some dead silence on the broadcast but that was because i was searching google for the final answer there so no shame in quoting my source shade bringing it up passing up out of bounds to noblesville i assume shade is leaving the game for the night that with 13 points plenty of sims that coming in the game for carly adams i i i do have to commend taylor cooney for how she battled and guarded throughout the night absolutely she is going to be uh tired i think tomorrow just from having to handle the ball and defend shade and be physical the entire night you know a lot of that stuff doesn't show up on the stat sheets but she took away a lot of opportunities for shade to do some things and force them to go other areas and taylor cooney absolutely should be commended for that that that was on molina that's her second so for the girls uh upcoming contest as we get close to the end of the game here i want to share with everybody that on january 5th they will be at east central and then january 9th they'll be at franklin county two conference opponents and two conference contests that count in the final standings at eiac and then we return home on january 12th against brown county i'd say it'd be safe to say that gtv will provide a broadcast on i would like i think so on january 12th taylor cooney got two points there i will definitely say that uh gtv will continue to broadcast things as long as there's restrictions put in place yeah if we can't get our fans here and and and do the things that uh you know safely then then yeah gtv is going to continue to uh to broadcast the sporting events as best we can yeah that way our viewers can tolerate the commentating on this broadcast and yet watch the action of the athletes so we try our best we call that a double double bonus oh see mrs june rigney down there waving at us oh athletic department does not function without that lady yeah she's a she's a good one yep she's a good one for sure as there's a lot of great people that work here in this building and in the district we appreciate everyone's contributions as we as i said earlier we're returning to in-person instruction and try to do right by our kids here here in the community and i'll put a little plug in for our athletes we're very fortunate during this time to provide opportunities for our kids to play and as we move forward we're trying to do everything we can to to make sure that our kids can play and continue to experience these things as we do our best during these crazy times um i will be looking forward to when we can yeah put the final ink in this chapter of covet and move on with the you know there are a lot of moving parts a lot of moving parts to have a basketball game and do things like that and greatly appreciate it for the people that make those parts move for our for our athletes to be able to to participate in sports that they love a lot of moving parts and a lot of unselfish contributions by employees and those that are really invested in what's best for our kids absolutely there's a basket cut by number doesn't get the layup there's a travel pirates bringing the ball up and some of their last offensive possessions here we still have taylor cooney and melina wilkinson in the game molina looks less than thrilled there but she i digress yeah she continues to compete good skip pass emily ernst look at that take that was nice that was a nice try there off the rim noblesville has it looking up kicks it over to number 40.
she rock steps takes in the middle kicks it out over the left wing hips the ball kicks it over swings it all the way to the right side nothing there noblesville showing patience and number ten it sounds like their bench wants to shoot it emery dennison she's a senior i could see why they want a senior to get some action oh number 32 misses the opportunity molina has it again she attacks the left shoulder and lays it in with the left hand there's molina keep competing keep going out that gives her 14 on the evening sims ripping the rebound down greensburg with the ball here as we count down the clock 50 seconds to go coach you know off the top of your head i'm gonna put you on the spot you know when the next gtv broadcast is off the top of your head uh it is going to be not this friday next friday against uh connorsville boys basketball against connorsville i believe that'll be a double weekend we got connersville and shelbyville both at home that weekend friday saturday oh that's the infamous weekend there yeah so that will be um tentatively the next next uh broadcast now keep in mind i'm going to give our listeners and viewers here i'm trying to look at our athletic schedule here i'm going to give you the most updated information but kovid can change this but i show that we do have a swim meet on wednesday january 6th and we also have wrestling at franklin county high school that night on wednesday january 6.
[Applause] and speaking of that you know people should get the event link app event link get that app and then you can stay up to date with all the uh the events that are happening at greensburg high school there's also an app dedicated to greensburg community high school you can go to your app store and download that and as we close tonight's action the pirates come up short 60 to 37. we'll close down action here appreciate everyone listening as we close tonight's broadcast and thank you for joining us we'll catch you
good evening ladies and gentlemen we are back here in the orange pit for some high school boys basketball as we have the visitors the greensburg pirates taking on your home to the team the columbus east olympians before we get started i just want to say something as the cheerleaders go out to do their cheers if music is involved we will have to shut our mics off due to copyright issues it's been picking the sound up in our mics and that's why some of the live streams have been taken down from youtube so just to keep these up for people to watch we will turn our mics off but other words zack how are you doing tonight i'm doing good this is our second game today we worked the north boys game this afternoon and second game of the day so excited to decide to be working that tonight more excited because it's east basketball but that's that's besides the point so we'll take a look at the greensburg pirates as you can see they're heading back into the locker room with about five and a half minutes here before tip off zach they come in with a very well respected 4-1 record as they started off red-hot with four straight wins and they just lost their last game to fishers but zach just like the columbus olympians we've scored quite a bit of points they by chance i think have scored more they've 89 81 73 85 in the first four games so zach most of these small town schools i i seem to feel like can shoot and they don't miss yeah i think i think that's an accurate statement from what i've seen in warm-ups so far they did not really miss that much it's a lot different feel from a small town team compared to what it is here in columbus you know we have two high schools that splits kids and a little bit of a rivalry but greensburg they have the full support of the town behind them and they just have a concept full of kids coming in and out so definitely definitely different type of vibe for a small town school compared to here and one thing they also they only have two seniors listed on their roster and only one of them starts so like most of the games we've called this year for the boys we they've been playing quite a bit of young teams so zach with two seniors a very young team so how can that motivate or be a i should say a great thing as a coaching staff and a player on this team well you know senior leadership is always a big thing and like you said they have two two seniors so look to see who they lean on tonight who they seem to lean on their leaders who their closer is and who they look to score score the ball list so it could be an interesting matchup tonight with who who the greensboro pirates decide to lead them going into this evening and i'm looking on the roster height wise i think it's going to be even they really don't have anybody that looked as they were warming up stand it out their tallest guy 6'4 and he doesn't even start and he's a freshman all the other guys are six one six two but as i come out here they really nobody stanley sticks out and for us we really don't have that tall player so height wise and stuff like that should be leaning in our advantage let's go over to the columbus east boys basketball team as they picked up their first win of the season wednesday night and zach and i you were there to witness it was a strong four-quarter battered battle i should say by then what was your take on their win on wednesday well you know we usually highlight you know pierce and boyer and murphy is top of these scores but an unexpected i wouldn't want to say unexpected but and but will reekers he stepped up he had a really big game he scored 22 points he really helped the olympians you know stretch that lead out and lead them to the first victory of the season so it'll be interesting to see tonight who who takes over that role as the top scorer this evening some stats through their win daniel murphy with seven ben silva with eight and like you mentioned will reekers with 22 jacob pierce with 13 tyler boy with nine as you can see the boys come out now so zach it was a great team effort i heard coach shitty in his raider radio interview i should say mentioning how well-rounded team win that was nobody was really selfish they got it down on the defensive end and offensively so zach i think it's going to take one of those team efforts again tonight yes for sure if i read correctly excuse me if i'm wrong but i believe that greensburg is ranked third in the state in 3a so the olympians do have a very uh interesting matchup on their hands tonight yes we should and zach we've known from nba in college one game could be a spark or a momentum booster for us as we're gonna have to travel across town to columbus north and we got some good teams down the schedule so zach how could that win on wednesday be a momentum booster to face some good teams as perry meridian did beat center grove in their last matchup well i think right now as far as games go you just take it a day at a time things could change in a matter of seconds you know that you could you could think you'd be playing a game that day and then it get cancelled due to coronavirus so you just take it day by day but luckily the olympians got their first first one of the season hopefully they can carry that on going into this kind of tough stretch here in the next week or two so we did get to witness the columbus north basketball team and we are going across town tuesday i'm just going to take your opinion now what do you think the olympians need to do tuesday night to secure a win and uh quite some time uh for the crosstown rival well first tonight here the olympia's gotta take business care of the greensburg pirates but you know look at i guess we can look ahead we're allowed to do that so you know watch them today north a that's a pretty good players you know rhys harmon he's really good ball handler great defender i think the olympians are going to have to box out against the against the bulldogs they have some tall and athletic players with sam king and ding ding so they're gonna have they're gonna have a lot of uh a lot of options of trying to blocks them out and i think they just need to be effective efficiently on uh on the offensive end speaking of athletic players olympians have had their fair share with very athletic players as silver creek we've we've mentioned them and then last their last game julian johnson he was a great all-around player for them so i think the olympians are very familiar with all around with athletic i should say players so i'm anxious to see how many points each team is going to put up tonight i think defense is going to be a big key tonight yes for sure so zach let's do your zap report what are some key factors each team needs to do tonight to pull away with the win well it seems like we always say it always but he sees get the ball into the hands of pierce boyer and murphy and have their have the contributors around them help and for the greensboro pirates tonight shoot the three it looks like they can shoot it quite well so let's see if they're gonna continue that from warm ups into the game all right i'll send them back down to coach pierce the privilege of this game was made possible by those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms we enjoy let us honor and respect their efforts in our country by gentlemen removing their cats and everyone standing in attention placing their hands over their hearts as we proudly play our national anthem [Music] thank you and now i'll introduce your starters tonight's visitors to greensburg pirates that guard is 6-2 junior number 12 colin cummer at barney's 6-2 sophomore number 14 kai dyer at guard a 6-3 senior number 20 lane sparks and forward a 6-3 junior number 32 of brendan stanley and at 4 a 6-3 junior number 34 dakota walters your head coach for your pirates stacey hyde and that is your greensburg pirates and now olympian fans it's time to get on your feet let's introduce your starters for your columbus east olympians atari 6-2 senior number 10 daniel murphy that car is six foot sophomore number 12 ben silva mccarty 510 junior number 23 will reekers that car is 6-1 senior number 31 jacob pierce and then forward a 6-3 senior number 33 tyler boyer your headphones for your olympians rip shitty and that is your so zach there we have it the starting lineups for each of these teams tonight i forgot to mention in our early broadcast the columbus east olympians looked red hot in their shoot around many people don't really pay attention to that but i think that can play a huge role coming in coming in early with a big and great shoot around everybody was to look like they were making their shots for the olympians yeah i think that goes both way for greensburg so interesting matchup on our hands here tonight so let's take a look and decided to call this game looks like daniel murphy will be doing the tip for the olympians and number 12 colin comer and looks like greensburg won the toss and we are underway here in the orange pit like you mentioned zach a lot quite a point scored by this greensburg team let's see what kind of offense they they do tonight as that one is tipped around kept alive by greensburg sticking with that patented man they've ran all year you read my mind there zach was about to say that one [Applause] screenberg passes it up to the top key to number 34 dakota walters a very young team here tonight for the greensburg pilots as the three ball is up and good number 20 lane sparks 4-3 you mentioned zach 3 point are going to be huge for this greenberg pirates team as they didn't miss quite they didn't miss many early on in the shoot around tonight jacob pierce kicks into the corner to murphy pump fakes back to pierce in the corner he takes the three up and in and out and rebounded by 12 colin comer and he pushes the ball down the court here for the pirates crossover hesitation kick out to the three shot is up and off the mark rebounded by piers and the olympians looking to answer back enriquez who was red hot in wednesday's game and he is hot off to a good start again will reekers for three both shots taken out of the right corner so far for the olympians all tied up at three with 6 30 to go here in the first great defense said by murphy number 14 kai dyer kicks it to number 12.
paulin comer for another three-point basket for this pirates team zach we said this wednesday night but i feel like every time every team we play shoots the three ball well as daniel murphy gets the rebounds and finally gets that one to fall yeah i don't think that's an understatement but this isn't unexpected i don't think the greensburg pirates are a very good three-point shooting and all-around shooting team so how can the three-point shot being very well ought to open up your whole entire offshoots yeah for sure if you if you hit some threes that means you stretch the defense out and you're able to maybe drive and kick and get better three opportunities or little dinkin ducks down into the basket for easy layups there's a travel violation the olympians get the basketball here down one as pierce dribbles to his right great pass great cut there but off the mark by tyler boyer you would take those looks anytime you can get those excuse me i kind of said that came off my tongue there a little bit three point baskets have been the success factor here tonight so far for the pirates they get it down low and off the mark and rebounded by jacob pierce and he's pushing the ball down the court between the legs gets to his left and up and off the mark there rebounded by number 32 brendan stanley and number 20 lane starks brings it down and we're going to have a jump ball it's a great call by the referee there the refs were moving around quite a bit here early on when they were getting ready for their game yeah they were all three of them were stretching and jogging up and down the court i think that's not a bad idea i have to agree it's quite a bit of running they really don't people really don't realize has been passed it down to boyer pierce on the right wing in the corner two reakers he's been the man so far and he was a man in the second half in wednesday's win as silva dribbles out back to boyer on the left wing a lot of cuts and a lot of passes here tonight by the olympians as expected there strong take there by pearson off the mark rebounding by 14 kai dyer crossover and we're gonna have a blocking foul by reekers one thing that hasn't taken place yet but it'll be interesting to see as the game commences is the rotations for the olympians tonight depending on foul trouble i don't know what the olympians rotation will be last last last game i don't think piercer boyer really came out for more than two minutes at a time so interesting to see what the what the rotations will be again here tonight as lane starks gets the layup to fall puts the pirates up three as they get it down low to silva he poses back to reakers to pierce he takes the second three of tonight and nothing but nets jacob pierce with the big three-point basket to tie the game up at eight that three for pierce might open up the driving lanes he's been trying to get into over here and we saw this last game too pierce was looking to attack and was really aggressive going into the evansville game i think as the game wore on he kind of fell off due to not being able to play for over two weeks he just got a little tired so three out of the five starters have scored already out of the gate that's a great thing as a coach to see as silva takes this three and nothing but nets then silva 4-3 11-8 is our score 335 as that's stolen away by reekers he's pushed the ball one-on-one fast break and daniel murphy couldn't get that one to fall and rebounded by the pirates lane stark 18-foot jump shot up and good he's been red hots for the pirates here tonight seven points already for lane starks and this pirates team seems like left-handed shooters always have a silky smooth release and that's another example right there lane sparks is the only senior in the starting lineup 6-3 guard and he has seven points here tonight in the orange pit as ben silva looks to pass it in here he needs to get it in soon and almost a turn over there recurs keeps it and we're gonna have a foul committed by number 12.
colin komer 309 remaining here in the first quarter one point ball game wednesday's matchup was back and forth until the fourth quarter i'm expecting this one to be the same way that's what it's looking like so far as pierce has it passes it to the right side to murphy he get gets him in the air and fade away and off the mark he's gone off to a slow start here tonight but the only way to get out of those is keep shooting the ball as that three-point is off the mark and rebounded by silva and he's gonna toe tap the line and step out didn't really look he had the possession there to be out of bounds but number 14 is taking the ball out for the pirates i haven't really seen anybody this year really wear the shooting sleeve there's one tonight yeah my olympians don't really have much accessory gear that they really wear i don't think they wear any leggings or or shooting shooting sleeves as colin coomer gets the three-point basket his second of the night and a great move there by reaker spins and gets it in 4-2 reekers with five and tipped away and saved by reekers great hustle there by will reekers and pierce brings it down pass it to silva one more to boyer corner three up and good tyler boyer for three they're making a statement tonight beyond the three-point line here and the shot is up and good lane starts once correction again lane sparks olympians with four three-point shots falling tonight it's pretty good here just in the first quarter the ball is moved around to the right's corner to daniel murphy pump fakes cross court to jacob pierce hesitation gets to the right block great pass in the corner to reakers fires a three and shorts great look there and sparks has the rebound and the three-point shot is up and good for colin comer his third of the game nine points all threes for colin here tonight and that's stolen away there by the pirates they have the numbers he's going to take it himself that's braden stanley for two not the type of passing to throw there very telegraphed easy to read olympians again like we've seen all year looks like they're going to be holding for the last shot with 48 seconds left in the first quarter much better going into a quarter down two instead of four here or six if we do not convert here and they have some time here as reekers has it above the volleyball line so no five second call there if you're above the line there as silva has it hesitates and finally gets tyler boyer the ball here 15 seconds on the clock here big shot here for the olympians going into the second quarter silver picked his dribble up cross court dangerous pass and it's going to be greensburg basketball don't know about that one not a good pass by silva again it's a second bad pass in a row but olympians got the bad end of the call there that looked like it was off greensburg olympian's not fortunate on that out of bounds play 8.2 seconds here let's see if greensburg can get a shot to fall as the red hot sparks fires up the three and good point and a full court shot is off the mark and there we have it 23-16 is our score so zach like we mentioned quite a bit of points scored by both teams in the first quarter there coach shitty seemed like he was trying to get the boys maybe i don't know what he was saying but he seemed kind of heated there during their huddle there so what was your first take in the first quarter well their end of quarter execution was not good and particularly silva he made some really iffy passes that led to some turbo turnovers for the olympians and they were just giving them some pretty easy threes some really transition and wide open threes so if they could sure those things up i think they'll be able to bring this game back into back into closer contention as greenbergs gets the three-point shot to fault it pretty much in the quarter there as lane sparks has been their guy with 12 points already just in one quarter and a great take there by number colin comer collin with 11.
that was his only shot made that wasn't a three he was three for three from the three-point line there in the first quarter that's tyler boyer back to silva 720 on the clock here olympians trail the greensburg pirates ranked 3 and 3a and the floater is off the mark there by ben silva and a great move there but tipped around and stolen finally by jacob pierce got the numbers to silva he's gonna toss it down low to casey bartholomew who's in for daniel murphy pierce gets the right block up and good jacob pierce 4-2 give him five on the nights here in the orange pit quick fake jazz set to the left took it right to the right to the rim with his right hand see the olympians can pick it up on the defensive end here mitch match down low good job by the pirates to see it but off the mark gets his own rebound and tipped around by i think an olympian player but that will go in as two points for 32 brandon stanley i think bartholomew on the retip just may have accidentally hit it in there a great step back three but off the mark and rebounded by colin he looks to push them off the court down to number 14 who is scoreless back to lane colin 234 dakota walters and drives a strong take lane sparks for another bucket and we're gonna have julius daly and daniel murphy in for ben silva and jacob pierce so will reekers who got off to a slow start in the first half last game but then second half he was just a different breed there scoring 20 points as julius daly tipped that one got tipped excuse me finally saves it tyler boyer cross court to murphy great move there gets inside and off the mark rebounds it three-point shot tyler boyer and in and out a couple bad offense possessions there for the o's zach what's your take on those just not very good communication they've just been they the greensboro pirates have also had some good uh active hands tipping the ball and throwing the olympians off of their off their spot so maybe seem to be a lot sharper with their passes and and their shot selection and will be a charge taken by dana murphy great basketball iq there to step in and set his feet and take that one as lane sparks picks up his first 5 24 remaining here in the second quarter will reekers dribbles down the left gets to the left loses control of it but keeps it alive casey bartholomew finally gets it after it's been tipped around by several players and 34 will pick up his i think his first dakota walters picks up his first team's third with 5 12 remaining here the olympians need to get a big basket here they need some kind of spark some kind of momentum here they have not had points in the last since basically the first quarter as julius daly fires a three and off the mark he was very hot in the three-point line in the jv game he got some action there in the corner daniel murphy slides his feet great defense there sparks passes it around finally to dakota walters who has zero points on tonight i'm guessing he's looking to change that here soon great cut there to pass by lane to colin he gets that one to fall as reekers beats his mane off the dribble gets inside throws it up and blocked by colin coomer and lane's going to bring it and float that one in and a timeout taken by coach shitty i meant to see what he's going to say during this timeout very interesting greensburg's very long and they've had some very active hands here so far very great all-around play there by the pirates so we'll take a look at our columbus cheerleaders let's see if there's any music like we mentioned we cannot have our microphones on with music all right we are good so our columbus is cheerleaders foreign so the screenberg pirates team only has three people in the scoring column but with 33 points scored as a team lane sparks colin coomer and braden stanley have been the only three people to score here for the pirates doesn't matter who scores it's just the final score that's the only really thing that matters and so far pirates have that advantage most of the scoring has been colin coomer and lane sparks here i've been the go-to guys here for this pirates team we have records brings the ball down the court daniel murphy to boyer two reekers in the corner back to murphy at the top of the key julius daly has the ball tyler boyer dribbles to his right hands it off to daley looks down low to boyer but doesn't get it great defense there by the pirates but a great pass there by daniel murphy and tyler boyer puts it up 4-2 gives him five points on the knights and the greensboro pirates looks to push the ball down the courts as sparks great pass and it's going to be out of bounds olympian basketball great defense to stop there for the olympians gonna have ben silva check in for julius daly so the starters back in here maybe to finish out this first chapter here zach i would i would assume so i don't see why there really be any other substitutions at this point unless it's for less is for fouls speaking of fouls comas east with only one team foul here and greensburg with three so very clean matchup by both teams here so far as pierce gets baseline spins back cut to daniel murphy great pass and daniel murphy gets that one to fall for his fourth point of tonight pierce always throws those tight rope balls into really contested windows and always seems to complete them and the three-point shot is up and off the mark his first three-point miss of the night and stolen by piers and he's going to take it himself gets to the left and off the mark strong rebound by daniel murphy and he gets two in a row there and a timeout taken by greensburg great response when the olympians come out of timeout they got a little bit sparks of life here getting some getting some defensive stops that's lead to some transition points for the olympians for the olympians so far daniel murphy with six then silva with three reekers with five pierced with five and boyer with five so once again quite a bit of scoring here for the team wise i should say for the olympians greensburg coach not happy with his players coming out of that time out here heard some heard some uplifted voices telling him to move the ball and some other things so see if greensboro can you get it pirates ship i actually did think of that when i said that but i didn't care to mention it well i thought i should so here we go 255 to go here see what each team has done after the 32nd timeout here the olympians on a little run here let's see if greensburg can put an end to that as a very talented guard gets inside that's lane sparks 4-2 has been silva has it 2 30 on the clock here passes it to daniel murphy has it to boyer spins inside throws up the shot and good great shot there but great defense by the pirates but just a better shot there by boyer and stolen he read that one he's all alone and he's gonna take the easy layup and add two more for tyler boyer two minutes on the clock olympians have done a great job tonight capitalizing off torn our turnovers in the corner is number 34.
dakota walters still scoreless here tonight but that is tipped by pierce the script has been flipped a little bit here since that first time out taken by coach city this quarter and it's now the east olympians who have had the active hands and great defense closing this deficit to seven [Music] and way back to the back court number 20 lane sparks catches it to colin coomer and get his hands in there but kept alive and the floater is up and good lane sparks once again finding a way to score and up to boyer and flutter short gets his rebound and draws la foul and puts boyer at the line for two he's kind of taken over here to end this second quarter zach yeah he has he's gotten himself into great position to score he's had some good drives and spins and some tough contested shots to be able to put through ties his points total for last last game against evansville he only had nine he's at nine right now could get to double figures here with this free throw has he missed the first as it is up and good tyler boyer converts 124 to go here in the second quarter as reekers moves his feet great cross over there by colin and maybe got away with the push off there but shot is off the mark and 24 addison barnes gets his first points of tonight great strong rebound there by barnes and boyer shot is off the mark there rebounded by sparks you can tell lane sparks is in great condition he doesn't even look gas and he's played this whole entire first half as that one's stolen away by reekers under a minute to go here see if we can cut the lead to single digits here so we're down 10 with 40 seconds to go here olympians again electing to try and hang on for the last shot silva has the ball with 25 to go here in the second quarter 10-point ball game 15 on the clock here's two reakers probably seen some more passes here as we're at 10.
