behind the back ball in the right wing and good defense by the pirates here the man-to-man ledford off the foot she drives right drives left kicks it out cross over throws up a shot air ball off the foot of molina wilkerson got a pretty slow start to this game here as it's three to two five minutes left in the first quarter throws it into the ledford at the free throw line and she travels again we've got three travels here in the first quarter west inbounds the baltic cooney as they look to get a set going comes off a screen in the post is deflected cooney gets the ball back swings around the arc and molina wilkinson drives and draws the foul [Applause] molina averages 17 points a game molina is three points away from scoring a thousand points in her high school career is still three points away from scoring a thousand points in her high school career and she hits the second two points away from a thousand [Applause] basketball floor in the corner 14 and easy layup for the eagles as the pirates break down on defense cooney with the ball up the floor kicks it to wilkerson foster at the top of the key in the post to anna west and it's overthrown three to five the eagles lead by two inbound the ball pirates are turning over the ball a lot in this first half and they need to clean it up a little sloppy here ball in the corner top of the key coach wants them to swing the ball but they did not listen uh and they hit an easy layup that was number 32 williams with two points wilkerson looking to drive and wilkinson off the mark [Applause] [Music] out of bounds and it looks like it will be timeout taken by coach jason simpson we got a three to seven game here three minutes left in the first quarter the eagles lead by four melina wilkerson two points away from a thousand what do you think about the game here tonight aidan started a little slow pirates are turning over the ball a i need to clean it up a little bit yeah i think jason simpson will get him going here slow start for the pirates but they're looking to uh to come back from this four point deficit and the eagles set to take the ball in look like the hair in a horn set take the ball off the right side drives left kicks it out to ledford ledford throws up a shot cuts off the marking rebound by anna west strong with the ball wilkes or cooney excuse me takes the ball off the floor cooney kicks it to wilkes and wilkerson kicks it to cooney cooney drives left layup and she draws a foul she will shoot two taylor cooney averages 11 points a game and she is a pretty good free throw shooter at 84 percent and she drains the first one the eagles making a couple substitutions janae cummer in the game for the pirates taylor cooney set to take her second shot and she gets the roll [Applause] five to seven eagles lead by two eagles run a screen kicking the post to paige ledford their leading scorer she throws up a shot draws the foul misses the shot make sure you tune into gtv tuesday for boys basketball game at home page ledford misses her first shot she averages 16 points a game their leading score set to take her second shot and she drains it carly adams taking the ball out for the pirates cooney up the floor kicks it up to wilkinson in the right wing and it's off the eagles pirates ball wilkerson will take the ball out kicks it into cuny at the wilkerson drives through contact and she does not hit the shot genetic camera with the ball on the left key her left wing excuse me carly adams in the short corner with the ball and it's deflected eagles take the ball away over by the pirates yep need to clean that up if they want to get going here ledford at the top with the ball ball on the top of the key ledford shoots a three and it's short rebounded by number 30 ledford off the mark off anna west missed an easy shot i think she should have made that one but they're going to get another chance here as the ball is inbounded underneath the basket ball is out of bounds off the eagles so the pirates get bailed out there miscommunication on the inbounds yep one on the same page as far as what play they were running cooney uh eagles running about a three-quarter court pressure get the ball in the corner to janae cummer and a lot of scrapping that's going on here eagles take the ball away [Applause] we've seen a lot of turnovers here pretty scrappy play by both teams tonight and the eagles running their three-quarter court pressure looks like a zone kick the ball on the left side to jenna foster and another turnover by the pirates coach jason simpson clearly not happy about the turnovers here eagles on the ball top of the key drives right swings it around drives to the middle off the mark rebound by the eagles off again get the offensive rebound again into ledford their leading scorer hits the shot pirates not playing their best basketball right now melina wilkinson drives right kicks it out to jenna foster wide open shot she throws it up and it's an air ball coach jason simpson is not happy with his team right now they are not playing very well the turnovers are excessive and the rebounding is not is not good for them right now they need to get get their block outs and start take control over the boards because if they keep letting them get this many offensive rebounds it's not going to be good for them in the end five to ten five point lead by the eagles eagles with the ball chucks up a shot draws a foul that is number ten jaylee ryder she will shoot two jaylee ryder short on the first attempt 42 seconds left to play here in the first quarter and she misses again off the back of the iron cooney drives the ball up the floor she's not stopping uh molina just hit a thousand points congratulations to melina wilkinson on a thousand points it was a pretty slashy way to to do it and the eagles throw up a shot and it's off the eagles as she probably would have got that rebound pirates ball 7 to 10 16.4 left in the first quarter anna west inbounds it to cooney cooney on the right side eagles in their zone wilkerson to ernestis to cooney to wilkerson back to oranges cooney throws up a last second shot and it's off the arm [Applause] the pirates sloppy play here in the first quarter trailing seven to two what do you think the pirates need to clean up here i need to stop turning the ball over you need to get some offense going they need to they need to pick up the rebounding here and then the turnovers their passes their dribbling is not very crisp here so i think uh if they can get those things figured out they'll be just fine here they're giving jackson dale too many opportunities on way too many easy buckets i think jackson dell is a team that likes to shoot the three ball but they don't even need to right now they're getting too many easy looks inside the pirates just can't get on our side of the floor really i mean the rebounding is is not very good right now seven to ten here the eagles lead as we kick off the second quarter another sports evan bray finished second at the eiac wrestling meet today and the greensburg boys are taking on i believe south dearborn and we will be updating you on the scores periodically once we receive those the eagles inbound the ball top of the key kick it to the right wing gerbil up to the top of the key ledford wants the ball she gets it ledford crossover kicks it out to the left wing and ledford looking to get the ball inside she does and she draws the foul anna west that will be her first foul i believe she doesn't like that so ledford will shoot too bedford gets the roll on the first free throw page ledford gets to roll on the second free throw as well taylor cooney will drop the ball up the floor she now has eight points for the jackson down basketball team and what happened there jaylee ryder deflected the ball out of bounds taylor cooney will dribble the ball up the floor into wilkerson wilkerson skips it over to jenna foster tough zone defense here by the eagles and it's deflected another turnover by the pirates fast break opportunity get it up to jaylee ryder she goes up easy lay up there i think at this point the pirates have more turnovers and points this is the wilkerson aggressive drive and she draws a foul wilkerson seems to be the only pirate player that really is looking to score here playing aggressive as always she misses her first free throw subs in for anna west colleen is now one for three at the free throw line [Music] molina drains the second free throw and the eagles will substitute in number 14 reagan hughes pirates still looking scrappy need to clean up the turnovers here the eagles swing the ball drive left crossover ball top the key taking their time here as they are in no hurry kicking into ledford she makes a move and she scores very fundamentally sound says ledford she is a different breed pirates with the ball eagles in their zone offense or defense excuse me carly adams in the short corner throws up a shot misses jaylee ryder with the ball dribbles right kicks it to 24.

kelly once again in that first place spot coming up on 110 here for the boys 200 yard freestyle chad kelly looks like he's coming to pull away slowly but surely here in this race can dayton inch closer to that first place spot it was really neck to neck you're here in the start but chad kelly really pulled away there as the race went on and they're heading back the other way can dayton get closer to chad kelly here and there we have it folks our winner is chad kelly in lane five for the olympians and the boys 200 yard freestyle and in second place is dayton wolfe excuse me chad kelly was in lane six dayton was in lane five and for the panthers is danny hoffman jennings county in lane four and finishing out the race is jesse isaacs and lane seven coaches cheering him on can he keep his feet alive and his arms turning to be able to finish this race and that's exactly what he will do fantastic job to all four of the participants here tonight as you can see the times on the board there and there we have it our times chad kelly once again comes away with the win the girls 200 yard i am his next the olympians with three in lanes five six seven and the panthers with two and three and four once again this is a one heat race and we are underway no seniors here tonight for the olympians one freshman one sophomore and one junior so far and lane five is elizabeth profits in the lead but getting inching closer is reagan brown in lane four for the panthers but profit is doing a fantastic job she came out strong and she is not looking back so far she looks strong and keeping that pace now they're going to backstroke here olympians and panthers batting out the first and second place spots and in third place it looks like the olympians in lane six that is claire brooks and the panthers and the fourth place spot is paige hoffman and lane three once again grace howe in lane seven once again the olympians are leading so far that's profit and lane five and here we go folks three that was a great race all around fantastic job by the panthers and the olympians now be the boys 200 yard i am here jennings county will have two and the olympians will have four three freshmen and one junior here tonight so they have some technical difficulties it looks like with the board they're not getting their names up there as you probably seen on your screen so we will take a break and we'll be right back with olympian swimming once again we are still awaiting technical difficulties here at columbus east high school and i just want to say an apology to josie havana for mispronouncing her last name hopefully i got it correct this time so good job to her and all of her events here tonight haven't r is her last name so good job josie and her 200 yard med relay team as they came away with the win here tonight once again we want to thank you guys for tuning in here tonight we are through one two and halfway through three events so far here tonight at columbus east high school for the hhc matchup against the visitors genius county's panthers and your columbus east olympians many of you guys that just might be joining here tonight are wondering what's going on there is some technical difficulties it looks like on the technical side of things with the board and in the booth up there so that's why we are taking a pause in action tonight so far the winners here tonight for the girls 200 yard relay lane five columbus east josie having our cat wolf elizabeth prophet and kara van volgenberg and for the boys also in lane five goes to the olympians chad kelly mason curry dayton wolf and brady beyer and for the girls 200 yard freestyle is lane 4 it's tatum brown for the jennings county panthers good job to the panthers on that one and for the boys student yard freestyle is the senior chat kelly in lane six comes away with the win and for the girls 200 yard i am goes to elizabeth profits and lane 5 and that's when we had to take a break here so we are still awaiting the boys 200 yard i am here tonight it looks like they had the technical difficulties solved and we are going to be back in action here's for the boys 200 yard ims and lane 3 and 4 is the panthers and elaine's five through eights are all columbus east olympians and they are getting ready to take their marks here and they get ready got their place set and it looks like the speaker might be giving some technical difficulties as well looks like they got that solved here so we should be underway here shortly as they're getting ready to take their marks here and um jump there so far by it looks like the panthers he gets a big round of applause there for levi marsh for the panthers i'm sure that's not the first time people have seen that tier and their swimming career and there we go let's try attempt two here and there we go we are underway here for the boys 200 yard i am looks like branson young in a close race but he looks like he has somewhat of the lead and next to him is judah nickel and for genius county jonathan jones has also given them a great race but branson coming back is doing a fantastic job pulling away here tonight can branson keep this first place spot as they are now in backstroke here and in lanes seven and eight our freshman kevin stilson and gus ciqueno and and lane seven and eight two freshmen so give them a big round of applause for doing this race but branson young here tonight is doing a great job keeping that first place spots and it looks like in second place is lane three levi marsh for the panthers and battling out for third is lane six judean nickel and in lane four is jonathan jones we're coming up on 124 here so far branson young pulled away big time here he's doing a fantastic job here can judah get that second place spot he's doing a fantastic job and looks like lane four that is jones inching closer to his teammates to get that second place spots now they're on to freestyle here looks like stillson elaine seven is inching closer to turn and start his freestyle there we're coming up on two minutes on that dots here and branson young is heading back the other way and nickel judah nickel is in the second place spot can he maintain it or can jones inch closer and give the panthers up the second place there and there we have it folks our first place winner branson young fantastic job he started off strong and did not look back and judah nickel finishes in a well deserved second place and the panthers will finish in third and fourth that's levi marsh and jonathan jones and stillson's doing a fantastic job finishing out this race here and in lane eight his gus can he finish it out and that's exactly what he's doing here tonight as he is getting a big round of applause here both of those participants in lane seven and eights are freshmen they have a bright future ahead of them as they will have three more years at swimming that's for them do not take these for granted once it once it comes it goes really fast hopefully stillson and gus will cherish every moments as i was a senior football player and wish i could go back and do it all over again but let's give a fantastic shout out to branson young for coming away with the wins and the boys 200 yard im now we have two heats in the girls 50 yard freestyle and this heat one is all olympians two seniors comes isabelle davis in lane four and ali piakowski in lane six and then with two freshmen grace mykins and lillywood in lane five and seven and they're taking their marks and we are underway here let's see what olympian is gonna finish first here one thing with these is it makes each other better here going against each other the competition within the team is nothing like it getting each other better here so looks like isabelle davis is gets the early lead here can she maintain it and it looks like in second place is grace lykins a freshman looks like isabel davis will finish it out here but can ali piakowski inch closer to lykins here and isabel davis comes away with our first place finish here in heat number one fantastic job to the senior isabelle davis and lane four and now in heat two genius county will have four and the olympians will have four as well two seniors for the olympians as well marin winneke and cats wolf and two freshmen for the olympians this one should be fast and easy here for the i shouldn't say easy but fast compared to the other races i don't think anything's easy about swimming from what i'm seeing and we are underway here looks like marin's off to a early lead all eight lanes are taken here that's a sight to see i don't think that's happened with the two events i've covered and marin and for the panthers is braley moore in second place but marin winiki comes away with a fast win there good job by marin winneke and a great job by braley moore in lane four could not see all the other finishes there this race is such a fast race but we will get the board up there and there you see the winners and the other positions and places there fantastic job once again by senior marin winnicky now we're on the boys 50-yard freestyle this is a one heat event two for the panthers and four for the olympians and we have senior elias van kuren and lane five and then three sophomores for the olympians let's see who can come away with this one taking their marks and they are underway here and they are up and splashing and kicking away here looks like van current is in a slight lead so far but it looks like noah mcfaul is going to give him all he's got ken mcfaul and vin karen who's going to be able to finish it out here it is neck to neck who's going to have the string to finish it and it looks like van caron comes away with a win there with van keren's time 25-47 and mcfall 25-50 wow that was a close race to call there but the senior elast van curing comes away with the win now we will take a short break and when we come back we will have girls diving your arms well hello ladies and gentlemen josh burnett bcsc communication coordinator here taking a little transition malachi parks is doing a great job and he's given me a few minute break of going back and forth with the camera not 18 like uh malachi is and he's uh worked out today probably a couple times and still fresh unlike me a former olympian as well like like malachi but it's been a little bit longer for me working out at columbus east i hope you've been enjoying this live stream here tonight jennings county against columbus east this final home match between the panthers and the olympians i certainly have enjoyed being able to provide this live stream wish that everyone could be here at columbus east in person but because of the times that we're in we have to change some things up we're getting ready for diving here and here's our first dive excuse me they are warming up actually right now either way it was better than what malachi or i could do i'm sure little-known story but as i referred to earlier i used to go to columbus east and the one time that i was in the columbus east pool um had some embarrassing things happen uh ended up falling into the pool i won't say how far down it went but definitely was a little bit of a belly flop so might not be the best to give our swimmers and divers technique advice but certainly can appreciate and respect the skills and abilities that they have been working on for many years definitely remember coach fribley mr fribley from all those early morning workouts i got to play uh baseball and tennis at columbus east and it seemed like any time we had an early morning workout mr fribley was there on the leg extension machine and uh definitely appreciate his career here at columbus east and also thank uh joe arnholt for asking us to come out and be available here for this last home meet at columbus east just an observation one of the things that i think has been pretty cool working for our school corporation getting to live stream these different games is just to see the culture as well as the community that each of our sports provides our student athletes and we do we try as best we can to every day prepare them for life through instruction in the classroom i just want to give just a shout out and hats off to all of our coaches as well they give so much of their time energy effort into mentoring and encouraging the youth here after school as we say either before 7 30 or after 3 15 and they just they do such a great job preparing them for life as well outside of the classroom and we've got some special individuals here i just i look around the natatorium to um that have really put in a lot of years you know you think about the mr fribleys of the world i think about so many that in our community have given of their time in the swimming community and it's it's pretty cool to just watch even in masks along the deck watching and supporting each and every swimmer and diver whether they're in first place or trailing behind it's been nice to see the sportsmanship the camaraderie and just the encouragement of you know letting people know hey we're here for you and we believe in you and i think that's been a really neat thing to see both in in this meet already getting to stream this as well as watching uh previous live streams i want to give a shout out to malachi parks as well who's just been really stepped up um we were just to tell you a little story early on we were given the challenge of how can we live stream fall sports knowing that um you know with covid so much uncertainty with even being able to play sports but we knew that limited capacity was going to be a reality for the football stands which are normally full at columbus east columbus north north side central and we really enjoyed being able to stream the fall sports and malachi who was a starting quarterback for the columbus east olympians reached out to me was the first student to reach out and said hey i plan on studying this in college and i'd really love to get some experience being behind the camera announcing producing by producing we mean running the live stream and we're doing all this on a computer and uh you know me as a communications coordinator can't be everywhere at once but it's because of students like malachi and so many others that have made these live streams possible so if you see someone that you know they've been a part of these live streams please say thank you to them and i just want to you know for those of you who are watching just say a special thank you to malachi and looking forward to whatever he and our other student athletes and students who have participated in live streaming will go on to do looks like we're getting ready to get started with the diving portion so appreciate you guys tuning in columbus auto group forced construction for sponsoring this gabby meyer here to dive first for the olympians all right wait for the scores here maybe you heard but six six and a half and six mark mathis with a 1.4 degree of difficulty very nice it's always interesting to see and wait for the applause of the crowd and rylynn campbell now for jennings county marks five four and a half and three and a half conor english with a difficulty of 1.6 definitely some appreciation you can tell loudest cheers so far from the crowd gabby meyer again definitely definitely more difficult that time shown by the score as well as triple five there see what mark can do here um all right six six and a half and six ryland campbell on his second dive for jennings county 1.6 nice to see a reverse somersault there total score of 56 there definitely can appreciate that inward dive as you're having to spring off the board and really look pretty closely at that board that you just came off of um yeah definitely i believe that she has a bit of a a gymnast or at least acrobatic background and it definitely showed there has shown throughout for meyer mark mathis there with the back dive number well i just want to say thank you for letting me spend a little bit of time with you uh here tonight talking i'm going to go ahead and hand it back to malachi parks he's going to come back and you'll hear him for the rest of the time just one more time i want to thank you for tuning into this live stream columbus auto group and forced construction have made live streaming during our winter sports possible and it's great to be able to broadcast this live stream of this home the last home meet for columbus east and i know they're looking forward to getting ready for sectionals and hopefully being able to move forward together as as a team and individual so we're going to give it back to malachi thanks for tuning in alrighty guys welcome back we are still doing the diving portion of the meat let's see what connor gets on that dive six six six and a half with a total score of 86.40 gabby meyer sitting on a score of 95.95 she is the only diver here for the olympians here tonight she is a freshman so good job to her tonight a great jump off the board and a great job there gabby meyer fantastic job six eights and a six and a half great job by her gives her a score of 132.85 right now 73.45 degree of difficulty is 1.6 got up very high and a great dive good job by mark meyer another freshman two six and a half and a six gives him a total score of 103.85 rylan will be doing the same exact dive for the panthers didn't get as high as the last olympian but still a fantastic job to be able to rotate your body like that and be able to hit the water and trust yourself to be able to do that so good job to the panthers 1.6 for conor english a sophomore his total score is 86.40 great bounce and a great job there i'm sure he's gonna get a big round of applause here with that dive two sevens and a six gives him a total score of one 20.35 and gabby meyer will be back up for the olympians with a difficulty of 1.7 a back dive here for the freshman gabby meyer and another great dive by her she's been solid all around tonight's diving wives for the olympians two six and a halfs and a seven with a total score of 166.85 gabby meyer comes in on the heat sheet with a total score of 192.45 i'm sure she's looking to beat that as mark mathis is with a total score of 103.85 and a great looking dive there by mathis and he gets the rounded applause he deserves fantastic job five and a half six and a seven for mark meyer and the freshman see what the panther can do here this total score is 78.40 it is an inward dive degree of difficulty 1.4 and a great looking dive there by the panthers fantastic job there as you as you can hear the big round of applause there he's at 100.10 so he got two fives on a five and a half 1.7 the degree of difficulty here for conor english a back somersault and man oh man that looked good there for conor english six and a half for all three judges with a score of 153.55 2.3 forward somersaults here the most difficult one we've seen here tonight so far and that looked pretty dang good if you ask me good job by freshman gabby meyer fantastic job i'm sure the future is bright for the girls swimming team as she does a fantastic job and only a freshman looks like the the school record through six dives was set in 1984 with a score of 246.55 i'm sure gabby's looking to break that one and a record was set just last year with the 11 dies was chloe mcdonald with a score of 360.85 so good job to her she is a senior for the olympians and diver as well not sure what is going on tonight for mcdonald i'm sure she would love to be out there competing and for the boys records were set in with six knives being 295.65 and 11 dives with 472.60 so some records looking to be broken for each of these olympians as for the olympians but one diver mark mathis is a freshman in english connor is i mean conor english excuse me is a sophomore so there we have it gabby's myers was two six and a half and a six gives her a total score of 210.55 that would be all she wrote for gabby meyer with a total score once again of 210.55 mark mathis is back on the board with a degree of difficulty 2.2 inward 1.5 somersaults here and that's looked pretty solid to me great job there by the freshman mark mathis seven six and a six and a half gives him a total score of 176.35 will be all she wrote for the freshman mark mathis forward somersault degree 1.7 for the panther diver here tonight and a fantastic job there by the panthers to complete that dive rylan with a score of four and a half four and five and a half will give him a score of 123.90 to finish for the panthers diving lives conor english is looking to finish strong here with a score of 153.55 the degree of difficulty degree of difficulty excuse me 2.0 back to somersaults and he gets a big round of applause here let's see if he can beat his teammates mark mathis five and a half five five i think that does it as with a total score of 184.55 so i think connor english comes away with the win here tonight you heard the pa announcer gives they want to give the divers a big round of applause i would as well it takes a lot of courage and guts to be able to go up and compete and do some of the dives they do day in and day out so we will take a short break as they get the pool back and ready for racing here at columbus east high school alrighty we are back after the break they're sorry that we had to uh leave the mic off we've been having some copyright issues with music being played in the sound system our microphone's been picking it up so that's why we had to leave the mics off here but we are back and ready for action for the second half of the swimming meet with the visitors of the juniors hunting panthers and the columbus east olympians the girls hundred yard butterfly genius county has one participant and the olympians will have three with a senior being caroline andrus so we should have a good one here tonight see if caroline can come away with the win on her last home meet in the olympian uniform and looks like she's doing so just like that and then for the panthers is sarah sarah for the panthers and two freshmen for the olympians grace howell and cara van velkenberg and caroline's doing a fantastic job keeping her first place lead we're coming up on 38 seconds here doing a great job it looks like on lane seven cara for the olympians is doing a great job maintaining that second place spots and for the third and fourth place it's gonna come down to grace and sarah for the olympians and for the panthers can the olympians pull it away to get that third place spot and can the panthers maintain it and caroline's doing a fantastic job she's finishing very strong and cara as well in lane seven finishing strong as well so there we have it our first place winner goes to senior caroline andrus in lane five looks like the panther is gonna come away with third place and a great finish there in lane seven kara and the panther sarah finishes in third place and rounding it out is grace for the olympians great job to all four of these participants in the girls 100 yard butterfly now we're coming up for the boys 100 yard butterfly genius county we will have two and the olympians will have three with chat kelly senior once again he won the boys 200 yard freestyle let's see if he can win this events here on his last home meet and there we go we are underway here chad kelly all the way in the lane seven but in lane six is brady beyer who's doing a fantastic job he's gonna he's in first place so far here and in third place for the panthers and lane four is jonathan jones he's been in quite a bit events here tonight for the panthers beyer and kelly are battling out for the first and second place spots and jones is doing a fantastic job for the panthers and in lane five is perkins for the olympians a sophomore but kelly and byrd leading the pack here at columbus east and buyer will be your winner here and chad kelly will be second place in jonathan jones in third place so there's our top three finishers here and it looks like perkins is gonna finish in fourth place and virginia's county campbell as well so great job that's gotta be tough on the shoulders there for those swimmers as you can see the times there we go goes to brady by her the winner fantastic job to the sophomore now we have two heats of girls 100 yard freestyle with the olympians will be all olympians in lane one i mean in heat one ex my apologies and they've taken their marks and we are underway here for heat one of the girls 100 yard freestyle as these girls are going i want to give a big shout out to all the olympian olympian parents for helping me guide me along to how swimming works and the correct way to say names even though i've had messed some names up that is my apologies that is one of my weaknesses is pronouncing names but i want to give a big shout out to everybody when you go back to watch this or watching this right now we want to give a big shout out to all the parents here at columbus east for helping me with how swimming goes and everything along those lines so thank you very much and i greatly appreciate it here as the olympians and lane five is in first place that is holly gonna be first place in heat one and the two olympian are franks and shelby gonna battle it out for second and third place they are neck to neck who's going to be able to finish out in second place looks like lane seven shelby and frank's with a close second place there so there we have it heat one is complete and looking at heat two genies county with three olympians with three jennings county will be in lanes two through four and the olympians five through seven we have another senior marin winneke who has been in several events so far she's in lane seven great house and maddie klein for the olympians and tayden brown lydia poncer and chloe day is for the panthers here so we are underway looks like winnikey is off to an early lead can she maintain that one here as she flips and kicks and heading back with somewhat of a big lead here and second place is also the olympian is great house and third place is lydia for the panthers once again can she finish here she's finished strong we're coming up on 49 seconds and it looks like the panther lydia is gonna fight for that second place spot but can great house finish strong here there we have it winneke first place lane seven looks like great house does finish in second place so good job to her so reel that second place finish 57 i was about to say i looked over at the record board and looks like she's just done broke it but that was my apologies read the wrong time there so now we will have the boys 100 yard freestyle one heat panthers with two the olympians with four with elias me and kieran in lane 12.

of greensburg against franklin county boys varsity uh the matchups are pretty close tonight as greensburg is what's greensburg jalen their record i think they've only lost one or two um i do believe it's it's only been one i think yeah franklin county i don't think is far behind them um it looks like we're getting ready for the national anthem here so we'll be back with you after the national anthem and after the lineups are announced [Music] and the spectators be positive now if you all please arrive to remove your axes we honor america women who serve this nation with the plane of our national anthem [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] um [Applause] [Music] [Applause] junior number five [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign is welcome back to the action here at greensburg community high school we're bringing you the match-up between the greensburg pirates and the franklin county wildcats the starters for the wildcats tonight are aiden gurion lucas stacy bridger bolos jd stokes and brant ertl the starting lineup for your pirates are brennan stanley colin cummer lane sparks dakota walters and kai dyer and here we go we are just getting underway with the tip off walters gets the tip off tipped by cummer pirates looking set something up here comer drives dishes it back out to dire dire to sparks sparks to cummer on the right side ball getting swung around around quite nicely here there's a skip pass to spark sparks for three up and good quick lead for your pirates three to nothing just 30 seconds into this matchup tonight jaylen what do you think the wildcats need to do tonight to play with the pirates and get in their heads and whatever they can do um i think it's just mainly about stopping that offense the off uh the pirates offense is kind of dominant this year and i feel like as long as the wildcats are stopping that pretty decently then i don't think they'll have too much of a problem i agree and there's a three up by that's bolos there and the rebound by ertl now jurian has the ball tipped away by sparks this stokes with the ball to bolos to ertl and erdle into two for two [Applause] and woods we we saw the change of play that the spartans put up against the pirates and it proved to be good for him as conor field was victorious against the pirates just a few days ago there's a skip pass by cummer to walters to sparks comer for three and it's good quick pirates four point lead six to two minute thirty into the first quarter that's something franklin county is gonna have to stop real quick if they want to have any shot is our three-point game i agree the three-point game for the pirates is very strong this year [Music] here we go we have bolos with the ball looking to find some action here passes to ertl erdel drives right into traffic out foot on the line and that's a two-point basket for stokes and there's a foul colin cummer driving into the lane gets fouled not sure who that's on yet number 30 pirates will take the ball out of bounds kai dyer passes into cummer oh big pass into the lane there by sparks here goes dyer for three just off the right side and stanley goes up nobody around him and gets the two points for the pirates eight to four with five minutes and 30 seconds left in the quarter wildcats swinging the ball around here not as quickly and efficiently as the pirates but still something they've gotten their two baskets off nice drives nice passes yeah that's something i can i notice that the wildcats are doing quite well they're sharing the ball around and uh most of the time it's leading in points that's just the first drive we've seen the wildcats not score here there's two point shot off by cummer but cummer gets the board goes up strong another two points for the pirates 10 to four with four minutes or just under five minutes left here in the first quarter yeah that's five points for cummer that was just great hustle all around right there yeah cummer really showing up off the boards too today uh what we're seeing in this matchup quickly is the pirates dominating offensive boards dominating in the lane dominating outside the line pretty much everywhere right now here we go durian with the ball [Applause] unsure what to do here as the wildcats are trying to line up a play and there's a handoff to ertl [Applause] cummer gets denied going in for the dunk it appears [Music] and the wildcats are quickly back into this game of course they are never really out of the game just about five points behind six points behind i believe yeah i believe six at one point yep hit that three-pointer ertl hit it and got him right back into the game and here we go uh jurian is tripping around a little bit up top as dyer is playing great defense against him wildcats slowing down the pace of play here quite a bit we see the pirates on there and just moving the ball swinging getting the basket as quickly and as efficiently as possible and walters falls down there up for stokes and out and stokes was fouled on the ground i believe that was stanley that'll be his first foul and team's first style oh that's on walters my bad yeah it just seemed like he came and came in a little out of control trying to get that uh trying to get that swat and there's a steal by sparks he's going all the way in and rims in and out and that ball will stay with the pirates you won't see that too very often either sparks is usually uh pretty pretty good at laying those balls in yeah he is he usually finishes from his left side as that's his strongest side just an unlucky little bounce there a little too much and stanley goes up for the two points and gets it pirates finding the open man very efficiently today very well just quick and easy for him uh we were just under three minutes left into the quarter here 12-7 lead pirates durian swings that's the bolos here bolos has the ball back to durian and there's a steal by sparks i'm guessing this one's getting slammed down oh no just a little land for sparks ertl brings up the ball for the wildcats there's a screen by stokes erdell for three and it's in erdell is two for two from outside the three-point line tonight that is eight points right there pirates getting a little dribble drive going here not much though can't penetrate into the lane get the pass in there to penetrate and there's a three point attempt by cummer rattles around the rim bounces every which way and goes in and that is also cummer's eighth point see he's two for two behind the line as well isn't he uh i believe so ertle for two swatted off the board by stokes there kind of just reached an arm out for it and here goes dyer he'll take a three-point attempt up and just off the back side of the rim pirates applying good pressure here and there's the ball off ertl's fingers here we go sparks goes in and there's two points for sparks 19 to 10 with a minute 30 left in the first quarter really a quick pace game going on here as the wildcats have tried to slow it down a little bit they haven't been very effective with it as the pirates have been finding that ball finding in the passing lane and grabbing that ball and getting their fast break yeah if you uh if you look closely you'll notice that ertl is the only one who has uh he has eight of the points and he's just on fire tonight didn't he that's uh that's 10 points for so he has 10 out of the 12 with the other two being stoked not much wealth being shared here tonight by the wildcats pirates looking for a basket here sparks up and just off target with this jumper stanley gets knocked to the ground there wildcats slowly going across the uh half court line comer will apply some pressure to bolos ball goes to erdl ertl's getting backed into the corner there at half court and there's the count and a time out by franklin county jaylen what do you think the pirates are doing well tonight that's really just setting them apart from the wildcats right now yeah just rounding out this first quarter it just seems like the pirates are uh they're going more for the shots they are shooting more threes and uh obviously they're sharing the ball around more with their three players having uh pretty spread out points compared to ertl and uh stokes stokes yeah uh having the only two points with erdo having ten of those so it just kind of seems like the pirates are spreading the uh points around and compared to where the wildcats are yeah i would agree there and we're just getting back into the action here as the timeout buzzer rings 14 seconds left here in the first quarter wildcats looking to put something up here whether it be a two point or a three point try wildcats dishing into the back court cummer meeting him at half court bolo struggling to his right gets some separation from cummer goes up for the two-point attempt it's up and off stanley tips it back and there's a block by sparks big block from sparks as ertl has been on fire and who knows that ball could have found its way into the basket there all right uh with the end of that first quarter we have colin cummer with eight we have lane sparks with seven stanley with four and the rest of the pirates was none and then we have uh jd stokes with two for the wildcats and uh er ertl uh for ten for wildcats and that's uh that's brent ertle not garrett ertle a little confusion could be there as two players have the same last name i mean the pirates really pushing the ball well here getting it swung around getting an open shot whatever they need to do yeah absolutely i've noticed that the wildcats are uh they're slowing the ball down quite a bit uh more than the pirates but the pirates seem like they're being more efficient with it yeah and the wildcats they had what was it i think two two early turnovers there that led to two uh or four points by the pirates two each turnover that kind of caused some separation in the score of this game tonight yeah that's something they're gonna have to watch and be careful of ball gets inbound to turtle on the back court bolos has the ball now durian trying to find his way open but he can't and there's some tight defense on bolos by cummer and there's a foul that was number 23 lucas stacy that went up for that two point attempt there and now he'll have two free throws first one up and good [Applause] and there's the third player on the board for the wildcats here yeah with his first points of the game second attempt up rattles in and out and stanley is there to secure the rebound sparks to comer quickly cummer drives in gets the ball swatted away from the back and that'll be a foul that is durian's first foul for the wildcats and the team's second foul we haven't seen much fouls here today as not not per usual here stringer enters the game for the pirates and so does pettit ball off stanley's hands as he can't quite get the ball here we go stringer on jury in pretty tightly durian crosses over goes around stringer and there's a three-point attempt for ertl up and off target and that's the first ball we've seen get out of erdell's hands and him miss two point of ten for durian but stokes gets his rebound and stokes just off target with the ball and that's gonna be a foul on stokes pettit goes for the rebound and stokes gets into his personal space and lays a hand on him and gets a foul call 19 to 13 pirates lead just seven minutes left in the second quarter and here we go dyer will go in for the pirates as will walters dyer gets it into the lane sparks up floater for two points 21-13 with just under seven minutes left in the quarter ball swung over to bolos bolos up two-point attempt off target cummer gets the rebound knocked away by stokes so the pirates will be in possession of the ball here ball gets inbounded to sparks sparks drives and no dishes it out now dyer looking for someone cummer shot fake stanley the dyer dyer the one more extra pass up and then no good and there's a foul called on who is that woods [Music] well according to the announcer it was number uh 44 but we don't we're not having a uh we don't see a 44 here on this roster so i'm not too sure who it was but they're pulling the quick one on us here i guess yeah pirates with great ball movement here comer up just off target and sparks gets the rebound but steps out of bounds couldn't really control where he was landing there as there's a wildcat player just underneath the basket and he had to go out of bounds to avoid landing on him yeah there's still some good hustle by sparks there yeah that just really shows his heart for the game and his hustle absolutely erdell with the ball at the top of the key uh cummer guarding bolos very tightly here stacy has the ball right now guarded by walters dead ball here walters is getting on there ertl drives down to the lane dishes it out to number 44 44 up and good with the three-point attempt and ball almost batted way by erdell there is the pirates about lose control of it sparks up no good with the two-point attempt you know that's usually spark's nish right there is that jump shot from the free-throw line or anywhere inside or outside of it yeah you're not gonna see him miss too many more of those here we go ertl with the drive gets knocked away by sparks uh bolos will unbound the ball for the wildcats stokes barreling his way down through the lane there ball gets inbound and there's a timeout by the wildcats and we're seeing the wildcats kind of inch their way back into this game a little bit aren't we yeah absolutely uh with our wildcats having uh we still got stacy down with one we have uh stokes with two uh ertl bran erdl here with uh 10 still and number 44 which we still don't have a name for uh has three now uh with car with for our greensburg pirates we have uh colin with eight lane sparks with nine and stanley with four so um really spreading the points out there for the pirates yeah and here we go bolus one down the ball cummer playing towards the basket side and there's a foul on the floor i believe yeah there's a hold by stanley that'll be his second foul team's fourth or no team's third excuse me here comes pettit end of the game for stanley yeah stanley's been known to get into foul trouble quite early so he's got to watch that yeah and uh there's erdo for another three-point attempt just off target and we're seeing him kind of cool down a little bit here oh and the official calls the ball for the wildcats and it appeared from up here that's not the correct call but of course we're not down on the court and can't see eye to eye with the ref here yeah hearing from the crowd they didn't quite like that calling either bolos being guarded tightly by cummer and there's the ball thrown a little too high and dyer gets the uh steel there and there's a foul by bolos on cummer it is 21-16 pirates lead with four minutes and 44 seconds left in the quarter uh pettit pops out to the corner there but the ball gets inbound to down low to comer not so great of a pass there into pettit pettit tried to come for the ball but wasn't able to secure it quite here goes bolos driving goes up off the side of the backboard dang sparks gets rejected there and the ball goes out of bounds on the wildcats that'll remain pirates ball ball unbounded the sparks pass to the top of the key to cummer sparks down to pettit pedal looking for the open man and finds sparks sparks with a quick skip pass to dyer dyer down to walters in the lane and there's a bank no pirates can't quite secure the ball and it gets batted around quite a few times and the wildcats come up with it here hasn't been a score here in about oh i'd say two or three minutes no the game definitely cooled off quite a bit for these last few minutes and this could be a low scoring game we're gonna see tonight unless one of the team's lights on fire here after halftime there's some quick help defense by walters way to be there for him right place right time and there's a two-point basket by stacy as the wildcats are only three points away in this matchup there's a drive and jump shot by sparks just off target again that's not something we usually see from him no looking at the look on his face he's getting a little disappointed with him and here we go the wildcats making a run back catching up to the pirates 21-20 pirates lead with three minutes left in the half with that basket ertl back up 12 points for the wildcats with the rest of the team having uh eight and the wildcats have a player that's averaging about 22 points per game i believe and that's chad cox but he is not playing tonight so that could be a crucial part that the wildcats are missing tonight [Music] here we go should be getting back to the action here pirates hoping to get a get a basket here doesn't matter if it's two or three points they need to increase their lead if they want to stand a chance against the wildcats hot offense right now absolutely with the wildcats having this momentum they uh shortened the lead quite a bit down and i'm sure the pirates are going to get some ball movement here and make sure they get a lot of passes in before they go up well oh that's what we thought i stand corrected i guess there's a three-point attempt up and in by jurian and the wildcats take a 23-21 lead with just under three minutes left pirates appear to be a little bit flustered here so not not sure how to handle the pressure i'm kind of hoping they get a basket here and there's a three-point attempt by cummer up and in and he answers back 24-23 pirates lead yeah that was a huge basketball comer they needed that to stay uh to stay in the lead for this game yeah going into halftime the pirates need to have a little bit of lead if they want to have any any chance of winning this game and there's a quick steal by the pirates dyer goes around the back but gets it batted away and the ball is passed around and everybody's on the floor grabbing the ball and i believe it'll go to the pirates dyer will take the ball out for the pirates here and here we go sparks going back so is cummer ball gets inbound to the top of the key spark's wide open lack of defense there but he's still off target with his shot you know sparks not having the knight he probably wants but he's gonna have to fight through that and try to play the best he can to help this pirates team yeah absolutely and you can tell by the look on his face he's getting frustrated with himself as well uh you know this usually isn't him anybody that regularly watches knows that lane sparks is a great player and he usually makes all his pretty much all his shots stacy with the ball he's number 44 still not sure of his name we're going to find that out here at halftime for you stokes with the ball back to ertl ertl going right here switching over gets the ball batted away by dyer and dyer comes up with it and there's a foul by stokes i believe that might be his second or third foul oh only first foul i was wrong i could have sworn i saw him get a foul earlier 24-23 pirates lead with one minute left here in the second or first half ball getting swung around the perimeter cummer dries dishes it out to walters at the corner walters to dyer dyer with the shot fake dribbles in goes up walter's there for the rebound and gets fouled that'll be two shots for walters as he was in the right place in the right time yeah that's something i've noticed with the pirates as well is that their strength they've gotten quite a bit stronger this year compared to uh years prior and they have been using that strength to uh to their advantages and the first one is up and in by walters 25-23 hopefully the pirates can take a three-point lead here there it is there's the three-point lead pirates climbing back on top and with those two uh free throws he is on the board for two points yeah pirates kind of sharing the wealth around here tonight uh just not one player with a numerous amount of points compared to the others it's kind of spread around evenly durian with the ball at the top dribble drives gets stopped stacy trying to find a way into the lane here goes ertl erdl the jury and once again durian using that arm to try to push and get cummer off him here goes ertl dribbling down almost loses the ball just throws a shot up and it's in that was a good shot by jury oh and the pirates from full court rim one that was close wasn't it yeah all right and we will see you after half time [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] hey welcome back to the action here at greensburg community high school we have the match-up between the home greensburg pirates and the visiting franklin county wildcats yeah and uh i got a score uh recap my my fault uh for for our pirates we have comer with eleven uh sparks with nine uh brendan stanley with four and then walters with two and then for our uh franklin county wildcats we have uh gearman with three stacy with uh three uh stokes with two erdl with 14 and 44 with three and here we go getting back into the action franklin county will take possession of the basketball as we start the second half here ertle will inbound the ball here looks like they have bolos in the back court it's going to pop back and the ball is just going to be placed right into his hands and here we go back into the action stokes with the ball to stacy stacy to bolos bolos driving across passes it to ertl tight defense here by the pirates i'm sure they were coached well in the locker room by coach stacy meyer very decorated career with him he's had two state championships in his hands very good teams when he coached them the pirates uh being very effective with their defense here early into the second half it's been almost a minute and the wildcats haven't been able to find a basket or get even get a shot attempt up for that matter and here's a drive by erdl he's going to be left open and there's a block by stanley pushes it straight into the ground and out of bounds 704 left here in the second half or third quarter rather and there's a timeout called by the wildcats as the pirates put too much pressure on them to get the ball in yeah absolutely it seems like right out of the gate oh it's a five second count actually oh they didn't get the timeout out i guess well good job by the pirates there right out the gate you can tell that the pirates are just their defenses a lot better than what they showed in that second quarter and i'm sure they are all going to be playing with the utmost effort they can there's a drive by sparks and he gets the foul finally as there is a lot of traffic down there in the lane let's see if sparks can raise his point count here tonight and get the pirates up by a lead of three and that would be stoke's second foul on the night first one by sparks up and in with that one sparks has 10.

okay mr grippo here ms hallen here miss ham here ms harrigan here mr martelly here mr parachini here mr waite mr koram thank you um uh welcome to our first finance committee meeting of the whole um where we will be discussing um the uh uh part one of the budget this evening um so i will just oh excuse me uh let's all stand for the pledge my mistake i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all okay so where were we ah yes mr maciana i believe you have a wonderful presentation for us this evening part one of many budget part one of many i do did we need to do a roll call or did we do that oh we did that already you did we're all set yes okay well thank you welcome everyone i do have um you know the first of the two workshop session presentations you know ready to queue up and so tonight we're using you know the same technology that dr solon used in his presentation so as i share this you should be able to see the presentation which the board members have a copy of and you should see me in the corner of the presentation the thing is when i'm looking at and doing the presentation i can't see all of you so if there are questions that i don't get to because i don't see you somebody needs to just shout out you know and i'll stop and and we can take questions i i will do this in sections so i'll pause in between as the plan and uh you know without further ado let's see if i can get this to work okay do you see the presentation with the two students in front of the bus and me in the corner yes yes we do all right very good well thank you this is the presentation of the 2021-22 superintendents recommended budget and again dr solon showed this wonderful picture of two very happy students in front of norton school earlier this year sheridan and colton this does serve as the budget book cover this year and we're you know thankful to sheridan and colton and their parents for letting us use this image um the presentation uh tonight is again the first of two workshop sessions and so here's the agenda for tonight we will go through just a high-level budget overview the budget process which i think is important to explain as well as the assumptions in preparing this budget we'll talk about revenue and just an account summary the specific budget sections we're going to go through are employee salaries both certified and non-certified and employee benefits and our second budget workshop is next tuesday january 26th where we'll be going through the remaining portions of the budget which are instructional expense which includes special education services and so that evening robin ann carey our new director of pupil personnel will be making the special ed presentation we'll also work through the support services maintenance and operations including some discussion around the capital budget which the planning committee um has started working on and then we'll conclude uh assuming we get through all those sections on the 26th so to jump right in the budget process you know i'd like to begin with just an overview this this budget process preparation began in september so you know we've we've been at it for quite a long time here within the school district um you know that that process begins with the series of steps um and it involves a lot of different people and i would like to acknowledge you know certainly the staff members at the school district who played a role in getting to this getting to this evening and putting out a budget including greg gibbons who's our supervisor of accounting and fiscal services heather sante who's our operations assistant and all the department managers the school administrators principals and assistant principals secretaries there's just a lot of prep work that goes into developing our school budget every year and so as we go through the budget and in particular tonight where we're looking at these two sections i just want to remind the board members and i know this is everybody that's that's on the board now was was with us last year so there's not changes here but when we look at salaries salaries are based on actual staffing from our payroll records and and plus or minus any additions to staff which we'll talk about later we do have two additions to staff this year and then medical benefits which i anticipate is going to be the bulk of this evening's discussion is based on the preliminary projected renewals which we get from usi our insurance broker who works with cigna our insurance carrier to provide those projected renewals then kind of talking about some of the other way the budget is put together our administrators and the department managers such as our facilities manager our technology manager human resources manager they input their non-salary line item requests into the budget we also separately ask for all department managers and administrators to provide program new program and staffing requests so those are submitted separately and i'll show you some of those this evening and then we package up the budget details they're reviewed discussed and then when i say discuss meeting with all the department heads and then we work with the school superintendent who you know as he explained in his presentation on the 14th adjust you know the budget to meet the district goals and the fiscal realities the superintendent dr sullen presented his recommended budget on january 14th that was last thursday the board of ed's detail review begins tonight the board of ad must be completed so that the budget approved by the board gets submitted to the town manager by february 15th according to our bylaws we usually do it earlier than that and then the town council meets and has to review and approve its budget by april and if the council makes any changes to the board's recommended budget that comes back to the board of ed for line item changes because the council can only make adjustments to the total budget and then finally the board of education after they've made the line item changes would vote and so the budget process wraps up in may after having started in september so um you know we're we're certainly you know in kind of in the middle of the sequence but we we certainly do have a lot of work to do over the next few nights um again this is um the the budget is grounded in the district's priorities which continue to be complex thinking and social emotional learning needs for our students and so the budget's been developed you know with that in the back of our minds and so we'll go through some of the um you know these are the most important budget assumptions that i wanted to spend a few minutes focusing on first of all projected enrollment as dr solon explained last week we are expecting enrollment to decline by a total of 18 students next year to 4052.

okay for a 72 passenger that's about what they cost okay all right good to know thank you all right so is the um the memo does that include uh that that includes the cameras right yes so you're you're looking for what the alternate bid so on the bid specs to be included correct okay yep and i just put it on the bottom of the bid specs down there so it'll be an additional cost on top of the regular buses are we leasing the cameras um they have to we have to get permission to to modify the bus because you have to drill holes and stuff in it right um so that's just the cost of getting the cameras and that on it so that's a one-off charge that's not that's okay all right let's see what we do right um i would have to i don't know if we trade them in and we'll have to redo it every time or if we're going to physically take those off do we know right now we can take the bus and the cameras then the new buses come with new cameras there could be upgrades or things like that that occur as well i think we talked about it you get you get more your residual value is higher when you have the cameras on the bottom right i think we talked about it so we pay more but then we get more back at the end and we're spreading it over two years with the lease as opposed to buying them out right and technology's changing all the time i would imagine that two years it's going to be something different okay helen berger yes nolan yes dinar yes ray yes brown yes johnson yes gorman yes next week promotion second to discuss and improve the release of closed session items as a reminder personnel reports are subject to release but issues pertaining to litigation ongoing negotiations the placement of individual students and special education programs will not be released still moved second president gorman stated it well and what can be released what can't be released the agendas and the personal reports from july to december are included in the board packet good question nolan yes yes ray yes brown yes johnson yes ellenberger yes gorman yes move on information reports first we have in-person remote learning status report dr morgan i'll talk a little bit about the vaccines in terms of that impact that may have on moving forward once we enter into the fall at this time we're still crunching the dnf reports as well as students who are performing well for second quarter we'll have that to report out next month so that we can do a comparative from first quarter to second quarter at the end of in my meeting with the king county health department it was reported that they're wrapping up phase 1a end of this week and then they'll be able to start to begin phase 1b phase 1d is a very large phase it includes over 100 000 people in king county from people who work in like retail to those who like teachers law enforcement first responders so um they will begin pods for vaccine distributing the vaccine and more than likely it'll start to ramp up a little bit more in february but much of it is dependent on the the supply of the vaccine and as it arrives so um they're hoping that vaccine production will continue to ramp up and then i'll make that vaccine more readily available you send a survey out to staff asking i mean what was what was the response on that we had um we had almost 600 people respond to the survey and um over 60 percent of the of the staff that indicated that yes they they want the vaccine 19 percent said they were undecided and i want to say right around 17 percent said no at this time they're not interested in that 60 percent of people who responded right out of peterborough almost 600 almost almost six hundred almost everybody right almost everyone responded and does one be allowed a vaccination of all staff or just teachers stuff it would be all staff okay and you can leave in the schools but they would be looking to bring pods inside the school districts throughout king county okay to administer the vaccine of course people could also go to other locations like pharmacies or their primary care doctors it's just um whatever vaccine you receive your initial dose you have to receive that same second dose of that vaccine and that will cover custodial stuff and everybody right it will cover all categories position everybody yeah correct i got my second one today so i'm doing okay so far good all right all right next we have a facilities work order summary so as part of uh dan is not here tonight but the facilities recorded as you can tell for the month of december is uh very few work orders we had a total of 50 work orders that actually covered anything for cleaning out of 60 total work orders if you just turn in your packet to the last page i think that probably tells you the summary of everything uh just before you actually see the spreadsheet that we have with all work orders that final graphic right there represents a total picture of what's going on you can see that 26 of the 50 or same day 23 were one day to close out and we only had one ticket that actually took two days and that was actually to wash towels and dry them and get them back to the teachers so overall i would say we're doing really well within each building pve didn't have any at all so if you look you can see each building i'm not going to walk you through that because you can see it but it's pretty minimal obviously high school is the largest building they're the ones that have the largest proportion which would make sense um across the way but for the most part tms is the only one that had a two day wait and that was really just because it takes time to wash fold and get it back to an art teacher for her house that they needed to to give to them otherwise a really great job by our custodial staff again and hitting these tickets very quick turnaround who's very responsive in terms of what they need to do for the the ticket uh system yeah that's second though i mean they're doing a great job the one thing i would notice actually here in the detail is a lot of this is refilling bottles yes i mean a lot of it yes is that something so preempt or is this is this sort of i don't know without i mean it's it's it's picky you know we seem to be doing a lot of paperwork for refilling bottles well i think it's a matter so we know remember that you have many many classrooms across every single building yeah and so it's so that the custodians know which classrooms actually need the refills and bottles it also helps us track that we're utilizing the bottles in every single classroom and that went to sanitizing like we had hoped both in and out for students um so it's a good mechanism for us to just track that we're doing what we can to ensure that there's safe protocols in place for covet as well as to communicate with the custodial staff great thank you all right last item is the 2021 the 2022 draft school calendar so last month and i included that in a loose loot sheet that's on your on your table in the board packet i came back with option two um last month as we looked at option one originally that you also have in front of you one had some questions they didn't they didn't really like some of the options that were laid out in that so they directed me to go back and come back that's the one that just says draft calendar that i gave you loose on your table is from last december from december and the one in your board packet is option very interesting so option two reflects the the changes that the board asked me to to make to the calendar and bring back for its consideration um under option two some of the highlights is that we have our semesters are more balanced with 86 days in the first semester and 88 days in the second semester another benefit of option two is it moves our professional development days into the second semester where we could really use them for some assessment writing i also shared um the option two calendar with um our association president dave chapman in the past normally we take the calendar to our district leadership team uh to receive some input so president chapman did take did take on this option too to his executive committee and one i guess their their largest concern or their largest question is from the ca standpoint they would still like to see the parent-teacher conferences on november 4th and 5th rather than the 21st or 22nd some of the some of the consideration of that would be um if you have the parent-teacher conferences earlier you kind of cover the report card you talk to the parents about what you're doing with the students and what interventions maybe you're putting in place um if you have them a little bit later you're going to you're going to have the expectation that teachers for any struggling students that they're reaching out to those parents communicating with those parents um talking about the interventions that are in place and then at the parent-teacher conferences in november if they were the fourth and fifth then you would be giving an update on on how those interventions are developing and going when are report cards due so if the 8th of october is the last day of the quarter report cards are out the following friday yeah we'd have to provide the staff sometime to get the report cards turned around i mean what is it now like what is what it's it's somewhere between a week to two weeks depending so it could be as late as the time frame where you're seeing parent-teacher conferences that's four weeks later no 8th the 8th is the end of 1st quarter october 8th so it could be the it could be like the 15th so they would have to have them done by the 20th so they'd have a week six seven days ish so i guess wait so the one that you sent me had the parent-teacher conferences on the 21st 22nd what i'm looking at here has the fourth and fifth oh and you're going to find your board packet your board packet is optional which is the option that that you asked me to come back with to the board to present i assume they were the same so i was just showing you the difference between the two what what the one option that we looked at last month compared to the current option that the board asked me to bring back so the consideration is when do parent-teacher conferences fall can i remember because just sorry now what was just remind me what was the reason for the change of the i i didn't want parent-teacher conferences in thanksgiving week i mean with us starting august 11th that is many many many weeks that was what was initially proposed last meeting so the two options have in front of us have brought them two weeks and four weeks earlier right okay and what's the disadvantage of the november fourth and fifth versus the 21st and 22nd i don't know if there is okay okay i don't know if there really is a disadvantage to that okay just that it's farther it's further away from the end of those of the first quarters two weeks later so the key would have to be the communication that takes place between um school and home you know teacher to parents so if a student is struggling you know what what has been put in place what interventions have been put in place and then if the conferences were in november on the fourth and the fifth then you'd be talking about well how are we doing you're already four or five with that you know what where are we at with that and i guess from a data standpoint let's say report cards are due by the 20 if they move to the fourth and fifth and report cards are due by the 20th or 21st at the latest i mean two weeks of data isn't also going to provide you a ton of information about whether an intervention has worked i mean that's not a lot of data to whether it's the elementary level middle or high school level i would think you need more than two weeks so i guess to me if we move them from the 21st 22nd to the fourth and the fifth even if there is a plan put into place i think we're still going to be like yeah what is this actually doing yeah i think this was more about what we we heard you say eric was you felt that it was important to get parents notified earlier air and then if yeah pushed it back we're looking at six weeks later for communication so is it important that it is on the 21st and 22nd which is two weeks after the quarter so in the event a student was failing had a d and that it gives you time to kind of recover if you will as they're working their way through second quarter versus if you go four fifth you're in the middle of that quarter before you meet with them i think that's what we had heard from you is yeah no concern for uh parents to be able to communicate much earlier with a student or a teacher if there were concerns regarding their own child i mean again i brought up the seventh and eighth so i mean it was based on the it was based on the feedback of the board why it brought this option to to the board for and i i like option two i mean that's that's i was just i'm just sharing with the board the feedback i did receive the only check the other change obviously is we check with we take the teacher institute days from april to or from november to april that we will see no yeah this provides for more professional development days for teachers and service days later in the school year so currently most of our professional development teachers two days are front loaded and one of the concerns we do hear from staff is it's very difficult to write assessments to do curriculum second semester because they don't have the time to do that this kind of spreads it out a little bit more so there's some time throughout the course of the year not all front loaded in the front end of the school year and we only front loaded it this year to help with the remote learning we frontloaded every year oh we do okay and what was the concern from the from the union london teaching staff on on that's those not having those two days in in november because i know we've also the objection the fact that people won't come no they just wanted to do it two weeks later it would have been it would have been um current teacher conferences that week of thanksgiving right right yeah and we want to move parent-teacher conferences up it's just how early do we move them up do we move them up to the fourth and fifth if we move up to the 21st 22nd based on feedback from the board last month um i heard from the board that you would like to see the conference options in october that's why i brought it forward but another big shift is school monday and tuesday thanksgiving but we used to have school monday tuesday and wednesday [Laughter] attendance of uh families uh what we did find back in the day uh when we changed this to the two days off for students and actually doing parent-teacher conferences the reason they come to the board initially uh from board members that i've been on you may recall this was because we had a lot of parents who took off the week anyway and so teachers found that it was difficult sometimes for the students to be educating them because it's two days that usually parents would take that four week off uh so at this this way when it's parented to conferences you don't lose at academic time because you're really meeting with parents and a lot of times teachers are meeting with those parents off time so that was another rationale back in the day when it came to glt for that shift of having those two days off next to thanksgiving and i i brought this up before i think last year we went over the calendar too so many people skip the friday before spring break for instance so many people skip the monday after spring break and all of our other vacations so i would just assume it's a different version of that basically um and so you know i'm all for having school days in november i don't think during thanksgiving week i think having a week in the middle of november is not necessary one thing that always comes up with calendar is always mid valley and trying to align our calendar but there is what does this do to that for those four days it moves it off of the mid valley because currently the initial calendar we've brought forward was in alignment with the mid valley and with some of our other programs across the county so is that this one is the line this is still pretty aligned you lose the two days it's only those two days you lose the two days in november but the the start day for students is exactly the same spring break spring break is the same the winter break is the same so we have conferences they have classes yeah four days conferences in the two days before thanksgiving okay and i mean and then does midwest so saint charles says their conference is on the 7th and 8th of october does that mean mid-valley doesn't have school in those days correct so those though that's part of the four years as well that's why that'd be six but it would have been anyway right because of that already being there correct so there's two variables that change there's the conferences and then there's the personal development days that got moved we moved our we moved our um professional development days to the spring we balanced out the semesters so our semesters are balanced out at 86 days and 88 days and then um it's really deciding where you want to have your parent teacher conferences whether or not you want me to bring back an option next month whether we stay with the 21st and the 22nd or whether we look at parent-teacher conferences for the fourth and the fifth well gosh if we move up to the seventh and eighth we'd only be off four days oh is it with regard to mid valley no two days which that well another thing well the thing is that we missed it only two days we missed two days on the quarter then because right now we end on the eighth so we missed those two days that would shift the first and second quarter and we had we had talked on the phone about this i mean i i think there's something to right having teachers actually a lot of grades to talk about so in retrospect i i understand that and i think that's right i think that's a fair that's right when we talked about having parent-teacher conferences the 14th and 15th that was a quick turnaround time right so i think the 21st and 22nd is a good compromise i mean personally as a parent i would have liked to have that conference when the grades were done at the beginning of that next quarter because i always thought our conferences were way too late this idea of two weeks into the second quarter sounds like a good job sounds like a good timing for me as a parent thinking about my kids in christ yeah i think the biggest i don't think parents really care about the conferences as much as they do about having the days off moving those into thanksgiving i think that's where we get the biggest pushback yeah wait till they start school the only calls i ever got about that's already been in the public domain the only calls i ever got about the calendar were were when we moved to what they perceived as their vacation time elementary's heavy on future conferences yeah and then you just yeah it falls off i did have a people reach out about the august 11th start date last night it is this is the final year this remember we were in that's that pretty sure i'm pretty sure i said there were two years okay this is the second of the two years all right and then how the days of the week work and again i mean st charles did their calendar in december i think correct there was already fires finalized at our last meeting so they obviously was before that so i mean they were all pretty early as far as their approval anyway so does the board have a preference for me to bring next month and this is the this is what i'm option two is what i'm recommending based on the feedback of the board that's my preference i like that one this is obviously the shoe we were coming back in person in november i don't know how people do it all right that wraps up the emotion second to adjourn to executive sessions yes thorin brown sorry johnson yes yes stolen yes yes seven minutes but what 35 i don't know five minutes we can turn around quick there ain't nothing here let's do it we didn't sit long enough
