or having time to do homework or are not knowing someone's cell phone number I've heard that phrase the struggle is real I once had a student tell me you don't know how real the struggle is because you're not that young and you probably don't even text now let me tell you about when the struggle was real when I was in high school now do you know back then if you wanted to change the channel in the TV you actually had to get up and change the dial [Applause] in my day high definition was getting the rabbit ears just right and we didn't have 200 channels we had three and PBS which really didn't count in those days the struggle was real and you're not going to believe this our parents made us walk or ride our bikes to school the struggle was real I didn't have a PlayStation 4 with highdef Graphics realistic audio and a wireless remote we played Monopoly I didn't have streaming music either we had eight track tapes there's no Netflix we had to go to the local drive-in movie theater and let me tell you it wasn't easy to find just the right color leisure suit to match your dates dress and dance in Disco shoes at the prom in those days the struggle was real to drive you had to learn how to use a clutch and a stick shift and to ski you had to go up the mountain holding on for dear life to the Tea Bar the struggle was real and we didn't have cell phones there was no texting twittering Snapchatting or instagramming the struggle was real and there was no find my friends out parents kept track of us by calling our friends now that was tough especially if you were like me and your dad was a principal and your mom was a teacher the struggle was real in all seriousness I think I I know and understand many of your challenges you live in a complex interconnected world that never rests but I do want to share with you the challenges of a man I knew named Mr Joseph schimp now Mr schimp lived in Widefield where I grew up with Mr Castle it is the land of retired military four good friends of mine dad were in the military two of those dads were immigrants two were africanamerican and their family were from poor areas in the rural South lost in the history books is the importance of the military for folks like those now last January on a very cold Saturday morning I went to the funeral for Mr Shimp one of those true American Heroes he was of German descent and was born born in the Ukraine in the 1930s about the time World War II broke out his family was welltoo Farmers Russia told all Germans to leave or they would be sent to a concentration camp in Siberia one of his uncles was found and sent there that is when his family decided to leave they quickly left the Ukraine on foot with one horse pulling a wagon with all their belongings they went to Poland for about a year the fighting was so Fierce there that they had decided to leave for Germany a bridge they crossed getting into Germany was blown up the very next day they survived World War II and boarded a boat for the United States in 1952 they landed in New York City young Joseph didn't know the language he struggled in school and was too proud to ask for help he dropped out at the age of 16 he went to work in a steel factory Joseph then enlisted in the Air Force when he was old enough to do so he married a pretty L from Texas he was sent to Vietnam during the war there and experienced the second round of War he rose to the rank of tech sergeant then retired in Whitefield where he raised his four boys one of them Joe a good friend of mine and he was an honor to his country and his family for Mr Shimp the struggle was real now my hope my wish my prayer for each of you is that no matter the challenges you face small like mine or great like Mr shimps who endured death and destruction all around him during his childhood you will have the strength and confidence to meet the challenges you will encounter and not only survive but to thrive and know while you will face challenges face them with resilience of those before us like Mr Joseph Shimp on behalf Academy District 20 and it's nearly 29,000 staff and students I wish upon each of you all the good fortune grown daughters thank you Mr Borland for your genuine interest in support of Pine Creek High School this school year please join me in welcoming Board of Education Treasurer Mr Larry [Applause] Borland good afternoon Pine Creek graduates let's try that again good afternoon Pine Creek graduate congratulations to all of you and to your families and friends as well now I know right now you want more than anything for me to sit down so that you can get up and graduate but but tradition has it that I am to offer you a bit of advice prior prior to your de your to your departure besides I'm kind of an old guy and this may be my last chance to do this so just indulge me for a few minutes many years ago when I was a young aspiring Public Safety leader I had the chance to hear the Seattle police chief Norm Stamper share some guiding principles for his personal and professional life I offer his words to you today as you move into the next chapter in your lives Chief Stamper had three guiding principles for his personal and professional life one realize that you are not put on this Earth to be messed with number two tell the truth the first time every time and let the chips fall where they may and number three move into your fears at first blush the statement realize that you are not put on this Earth to be messed with sounds like pugnacious cop talk and I I don't know maybe it is certainly I believe you should never allow yourselves to be abused or mistreated by anyone but this statement has a significant even vital coraly which is this if you are not put on this Earth to be messed with then neither is anyone else this is this is our your moral obligation we must stand up for those who are abused weaker or less capable of taking care of themselves despite the consequences for us personally it really comes down to nothing more than the golden rule that you learned all those years ago in kindergarten and which by the way is also a tenant of every major religion in the world treat others the way you would like to be treated and love your neighbor as yourself tell the truth the first time if you tell the truth the first time you will never have to struggle to keep your story straight you will know what you said the first time tell the truth every time honestly folks lately truth seems to have become a nebulous and somewhat ambiguous concept truth seems to be defined by as whatever the Spin Doctors de side it is but I would offer this true facts are those things that have been verified by multiple people over multiple points of time in multiple ways and President John Adam said facts are stubborn things you see they don't change simply because you or anyone else doesn't like them or doesn't find them convenient graduates you are welcome welcome to your opinion but your opinion doesn't make anything true the lesson here is to man is to demand proof for those statements that people claim to be true and hold yourself accountable for that same standard let the chips fall where they may make no mistake about it there will be consequences for being honest you may lose a job you may lose an El ction a relationship or a friend by telling the truth John linen said Being Honest may not get you many friends but it will get you the right ones move into your fears I'm told there are three or there are five types of fears number one is Terror number two is panic number three is 14 missed phone calls from your mom number four username or password is incorrect and number five the dreaded we need to talk I don't know anything about number three four or five but let me offer some some advice about number one and number two we are all afraid of something I speak at graduations regularly I train large groups of diverse uh people I've even been on National Television but put me in front of any group of middle schoolers larger than five and I am terrified the thing about fear is that you cannot go around it you either Retreat from it or you go through it Mark Twain once said that courage is resistance to fear the Mastery of fear not the absence of fear now I imagine that if you're honest with yourselves each of you has some trepidation today about what lies ahead many of you are going to college a big challenge for anyone some of you are entering the workforce with all the expectations of adulthood and a new and unknown situation I don't know a few of you may be getting married and that is truly a scary situation some of you are going into Harm's Way in in the service of our country but remember this everything you can possibly be is just on the other side of your fears move into your fears my very best to you on this auspicious day may I be among the first to wish you godp spe as you enter into the exciting scary wonderful Journey called life all right ladies and gentlemen the part you have been waiting for with the class of 2017 please rise Mr Borland it is with great pride that I present to you the trying to show up he's 6 6 junior for Lewis Palmer who has the ball Joel Scott he'll go baseline goes inside and they're gonna get Anderson with the call there may be an explanation from Andy he Oh was what we'd like to see now cuz I'm just hearing the crowd and how they reacted obviously they hate every time you blow the whistle right at the moment right if he's violating the mr.

grant Shandi takes his place the first shot is up and in for Joel Malina he's now made three straight free throws shot the second one won't go Barry Clark arguing with the official about the call on Bendrick and cadets try and build the lead back up now 13 points it is Biddle top Shandy Lunt on the side thought about it he's gonna drive good job coach Clark tell him to move the basketball laughing - Andy once again cadets now taking control of the basketball keeping it up top laughing spins goes down the lane can't get it to go rebound Gowdy quickly up to Isaiah Jordan nice pass back to Gowdy Goudy shot won't go try to get his own rebound laughing is there and the cadets come down with it they have fat doing up the court all alone but Blount didn't see him now he gets it to him shot up still won't go gaudí with the rebound again there cadets continue to leave the door open back-to-back possessions where they've gotten a layup and they've missed it and it's good ball movement but you have to be able to finish shut up my Vargas goes his first two of the game 11-point game now pressure continuing here comes Biddle into the lane can't get it to go laughing gets the rebound and they're gonna get a foul called Biddle will be going to the line that's gonna be on Joel Malina his second only there's a good shot of Josh middle right there he goes to the to the basket looked like it was gonna be another layup that was missed by air Academy here it comes right there gets hit by the with the body on the play they're gonna call that on Vargas I believe we thought it might have been Molina Vargas gets his first for the game middle goes to the free-throw line 21 12 same numbers different order dyslexic middle misses that one and that is a tough miss for the cadets Cal Yocum set to come back in and we'll quickly know nobody's coming for the shooter out there Josh Biddle nine points had all those at that time he's gonna go have a seat it's good look at Josh and a 12 point lead with 322 left and now the cadets are gonna press try and force of turnovers on the scorpions Goudy dribbles around it to Jordan and now quickly up to Javon Williams in the corner shot up more Molina can't go in and out rebound fat doing and Gaudi takes it right from him and again stole him right back grant Shandy doesn't get the call there they try to get it to laughin maybe too fancy of a pass by that doing yeah I tell you what Barry Clarke is not gonna like that pass especially you up 12 points just over three minutes left in this game and that's a turnover you just can't take right there so Vargas gets it inside to Jordan back to Vargas he'll try and break that cadet press Jordan comes up it's got Molina wide open won't give it to him now inside Vargas Vargas strong up and they're gonna call a foul this one could be on laughing or Yocum it's gonna be on laughing his second that was a strong move - Vargas getting right down there was no doubt about it he put two hands on the basketball he's gonna go straight up either he's gonna get a good look or he's gonna get fouled gets fouled on the plane Vargas goes to the free-throw line the problem the cadets have right now is Saint Creek is scoring while the clocks are not moving you do not want that to happen Vargas will take the second shot you can cut this to 10 got it impressive showing by the scorpions here from the free-throw line in the second half again pressuring in the backcourt Yoga loses the basketball Siobhan Williamson they're gonna call a foul I think they're gonna call it on Yocum and the official watching as they continue to play on a little bit little shoulder bumping after the foul this is gonna go against Cal Yocum his second very Clark yells cow pass Javon Williams at the line he's been to the line a lot tonight he can cut this to eight both teams in the double bonus at this point five for nine makes the first one this is the second rebound air academy Yocum gets it to lunch way down to doing doing nice fake with the prog takes it to the hole good job i bad doing its first bucket here in the second half he's got six for the game here comes vargas eleven point cadet lead and they continue to put the pressure on as jordan tumbles out of bounds wanted a foul no call Galvan will throw it in top one tried to take the ball from Vargas they're gonna call a foul but I think they're gonna call it nope they're gonna call it on lunch that's his second and again too many fouls let the score people score way too many fouls and like you said earlier Brian I mean scoring with the clock not moving and Anthony Vargas a good strong player misses that free throw right there he's 2 for 3 from the line tonight but when he goes to the basket he just picks it up he's drawn a foul over the last two possessions but in 3 for 4 from Argos and again it's a 10-point game Lunt gets it to Shandy shame he throws it up high doing somehow comes down with it he'll get out of the paint there into three seconds Yoakam brings it up top and now the cadets will try and move and there's a foul inside on Galvan is Yocum goes falling [Music] and Galvin is fouled out of this basketball game that's five fouls yep Brandon Galvan we'll take a look at it right here we'll see here comes yogi I just shoved that's not a good foul right there obviously but just trying to cut through the lane there's a shot of Cal Yocum going back to the free-throw line two for three tonight from the line the frustration from the scorpions right now the refs really have to take over this game and stop some of these things from happening that's just that's some nonsense there was pushing a guy down second one for Yocum he can get to ten points on the night and won't do so but they're gonna have a lane violation or is it a foul we got a foul foul on Vargas and laughs it'll go to the line - this is the first kata it had lots of opportunities to blow this game back open in there - still leaving the chance for the Scorpions to get back into it yeah leave it a lot of points on the table from the free-throw line [Applause] quickly up the court Javon Williams to Gaudi in the corner for free shot up can't get it to go Cal yokum's got the rebound scorpions will continue to press to get it to doing on the side he'll break it despite dribbling right through it nice fake gets it back laughing inside shot up and good Luke - a good job by that doing they've just taken it all the way knew he had numbers going back and laughing gets easy bucket Vaughn Williams out to Jordan Clark says no fouls and Javon Williams hits fourth three set an impressive night for Sand Creek 123 let's go the scorpions take a timeout and they've cut it to 11 day 123 left scorpions really a valiant effort here in the second half but in order to keep going they're gonna have to turn make even more turnovers to turn it into points because that's exactly what the cadets did in their last two possessions that's exactly right when you're when you're pressing like that there's a look at the last one where that doing went coast to coast with it then drops it off to Luke Laos and we'll get a look at the shot from the corner that was the last three by Javon Williams who knocks down that three to cut this one to an 11-point me that lead and for Javon Williams now has 12 points for Sand Creek Keenan Thompson we haven't seen in the first half he had 12 points in the first half if they he has 16 now and it'll be interesting to see how both these teams come out Barry Clark again it's kind of got to keep your head in the game some of the fouls the scorpions are the way they're fouling is quite aggressive and can be misconstrued as something else and the K that's really going to keep their heads yeah really do them you don't want to get into anything after the whistle in a game like this you're up 11 points 1:23 lamp just get the ball in take care of the basketball self in the game gets it to Lunt back to doing good job breaking that pressure by the scorpions right there inside self he'll kick it back out okaythat's want to take their time coach Clark I'm sure told him just just move that basketball and make them Palace and they do right there Vargas with the foul and it'll be Chandi going to the line grant Chandi the junior good look at him right there two for two at the line tonight he's got five points Vargas is third foul 1:06 left first one off the back iron ladies first two tonight okay it's get signal 6248 the cadets have made their average on the season as a team this one knocked away Yocum can't get it good pressure by the cadets just trying to run some more clock off and they force a turnover by the scorpions that should just about do it with the 12 point lead under a minute to play doing the lunch and they got a foul him 50 3.8 seconds left and Niko Lunt will step to the free-throw line where he has done an outstanding job tonight yeah he really has and if you're if you're Air Academy that's the guy you want going to the free-throw line leak Niko Lunt tonight 19 points he is 9 of 10 from the line above is his season average a 77% free-throw shooter on the season he's knocked down 9 of 10 tonight and he will get two more chances right here that's like 90% is that one now it's over that 10 of 11 making me do math here I don't like it you don't know what's in 11th the next one you like that 11 to 12 it's a great job from the charity stripe inside stolen away by Shandy great job of the cadets to see if they continue to foul get it down to self he'll score self gets on the score sheet tonight two points here comes juban way he's pushing it up Blount with the steal Kate it's coming right back and let's see if Santa Creek will foul it looks like they're going to he was grabbed no foul there doing out front maybe they'll just let the cadets dribble this one out Nico lunch which is it Cal Yocum inside and out to self get it's with under 15 seconds now just let it go chandi holds it class moved by Rob Hawkins telling his team don't foul let's just end this thing nico Lunt gets it to doing and the clock runs out and that is the way it ends your Academy cadets stop put an end to a six-game losing streak by beating the Sand Creek scorpions tonight 64 to 58 they go to 9 and 9 overall three and six in Pikes Peak league play for Robert Hawkins and the Sand Creek scorpions they fall to three and 15 one and eight in league play we hope you enjoyed this district 20 broadcast of for a basketball for Dave Toller and the rest of our 20 TV crew i'm brian german thanks for watching we'll see you next time on 20 TV you

visit asd20.org to learn more we are back here it's halftime and the classical academy titans find themselves down two points to the mesa ridge grizzlies i'm brian german alongside dave toller and dave that first half slowed down basketball and that's exactly what kevin wenger and tca want it certainly did in the second quarter the first quarter they got out they combined for 33 points second quarter was much different and we'll take a look right here to the show the number 11s there's devin nelson for mesa ridge getting the layup devin nelson ended up with 12 points in that first half and he is their leading scorer and probably wants to score more because adonis wallace not playing for mesa ridge tonight and he is hitting from inside hitting from outside doing a great job but number 11 as you said on the other side jared belcher doing a good job too yeah hitting the three right there jerry belcher the all-time leading scorer in the history of tca basketball here he comes right at you gets in titan hits the layup great job and this these teams just went back and forth devin nelson there the final two of his 12 points of belcher to not to be outdone comes back running to get it to johnny stevens and then belcher with the offensive put back for the score and uh that's how we stand at halftime and dave nothing that we didn't expect to see although tca i think maybe handling the press a little bit better than they did when they played down at mesa ridge earlier this year i would agree with that especially considering that several of tca's guards got in foul trouble early on they had to bring in some guys off the bench but i thought overall they did a great job of handling that press and once they got down they converted when they got easy buckets at the other end the mesa ridge grizzlies haven't lost since december 8th that's last year they haven't lost since last year dave do you think the pressure might build against this grizzly team i mean we'll see brian they're 9-0 in league they've won 11 straight games and they've beaten this team not only once this season they mesa ridge beat tca by 27 points they've won seven straight games over the titans but we'll see if tca can break that streak tonight mesa ridge 9-0 in the metro you mentioned wide field in second place at 7-2 the classical academy third place tied with elizabeth they are both at six and three we will come back with second half action in this one a two-point battle should be a fine finish we'll be back with some more high school basketball on 20 tv right after this back inside the classical academy where the mesa ridge grizzlies have a two-point lead over the titans brian german alongside dave toller and uh kevin wenger gave us his keys the game before this game so far they're living up to just about everything he told us they needed exactly brian they certainly are i mean they talked about handling the pressure which they've done a good job of but one thing we didn't really touch on the rebounding battle he said we must out rebound them we must box out they're very athletic while you look at the stats from the first half 16 rebounds for tca 11 for mesa ridge kevin winger and his staff they have to be happy with those numbers and away we go same starters on both sides this is ricketts inside step back shot up won't go nice job rebounding for cade walker gets it to frank moore and lamberth comes up lambert missed some time in that first half from there's the pressure and they're gonna call a foul on mesa ridge and that's the best you can do if you're micah lambert as he went down to the ground did a good job keeping that basketball well he really did and he was straddling that half court line that's always a dangerous place to be where you could get a back court violation no so he didn't get the violation he didn't get the turnover and ended up drawing a foul on dj king dj king had the first foul of the first half he's got the first foul of the second half johnny stevens on the wing looking for cutters sends it back up top belcher wide open shot won't go rebound inside lamberth good job gets it back outside didn't want to go up against ring so stevens brings it out front and he'll get it back to lambert lamberth now drives takes ring to the hole count it micah lamberth turns around said something to the effect of take that mr ring what a possession right here for lambert he got the rebound and then right there takes it in among the trees goes on with the right hand pulls it to the left hand lays it back up draws the foul and he will go to the line timeout call by mesa ridge we're tied to 26 let's keep it right here how much momentum can you get from a play like that from a sophomore michael lamberth well i mean a great first possession i mean it started out where they almost turned the ball over instead they get a wide open look for your best three-point shooter jared belcher he just misses it lamberth goes in gets the rebound brings it out takes it right back into the hole knocks it down the layup and he goes to the free-throw line what a start here for tca kevin wenger told us before the game as well that his dark horses in this game the two starting sophomores micah lamberth and cade walker they both played well but i'm really impressed with lamberth who almost turned the ball over halftime does he back down just a sophomore playing against a bunch of seniors with a bunch of seniors no he comes back takes it right inside against zach ring their tallest player gets a bucket and a hack and now he is going to the line for trying to finish off the conventional three-point play misses it rebound belcher offensive rebound for tca a big one there belcher comes back inside kate walker nice fake he takes it inside nice scoop shot goes kade walker there's your two sophomores micah lamberth with the layup misses the free throw and your other sophomore cade walker hits a nice little up and under shot going up an under ring the first four points of this half for tca they scored the first seven of the first half davon ricketts up top being guarded by stevens gets it to king king will drive into the paint steps up won't go good job inside by cade walker boxing out zach ring and they're going to say when off of ring and out of bounds it'll be tca ball i love the way kade walker plays down low you talk about boxing out playing with good position playing tough it's exactly what kate walker is doing tonight micah lamberth gets it into stevens he's being guarded up by ring stevens brings it up the court frank moore in the corner he'll drive puts it up just past rigged shot it won't go and ring with the rebound gets it to king down low ricketts and mesa ridge will take their time whittick inside to ring nice hand off the nelson in the corner ricketts won't go king chases down the rebound they'll get it now to whittick thought about it back in the corner king mesa ridge going to slow it down now tca doing a great job defensively this entire game inside and just as i say that ring gets open on the baseline they get him the ball let me get a foul yeah a nice pass by dj king as well you saw the ring cutting right down the baseline and boy he just zips it in we'll take a look at it right here his ring goes down gets the shot up but gets fouled he heads to the free-throw line joshua frank moore his first foul of the game first team foul against tca in this half ring's first shot does not draw iron 69 free-throw shooter on the season but comes up a little short on that one shaking his head can't believe it and there's a good look at cade walker coming out of the game for tca back into the game brian coutts ring this one's short as well but it draws iron and mesa gets the ball back mesa ridge down two shot up walker won't go rebound frank moore joshua frank more quickly up the court belcher wants a three shot up got it jared belcher 10 points now for the senior mesa ridge yance robinson no i thought he was calling to timeout my bad ball just got away from him 31-26 tca like for mesa ridge you cannot let jared belcher get those shots off he's had a couple of good looks from three and he had one right there knocks it down tca another good start i mentioned they scored the first seven of the first half they got the first nine of this half out front ricketts in the corner walker they'll move it back up whittick wants that shot he'll advise maybe and frank moore gets the rebound tca would be wise to slow it down here with a five-point lead doing a good job getting it into lambreth nice down low inside back to lamberth look at them move the ball good job by the titans frank moore cutting and they're gonna get a foul on devin ricketts he can't believe it but frank moore is going to go to the line i'll tell you what joshua frank moore has done a good job inside there's a nice look there's the pass the layup and well i don't know if he got a whole lot of frank moore on that one but the foul is called the last two defensive rebounds have both come from joshua frank moore one of the smaller guys on the floor tonight frank moore shot up at good i tell you what you can make mention of a free-throw shooting percentage all you want but it really matters when your team is on a roll to keep it going with making these free throws if joshua can hit both of these it'll be big for tca got the second one 33-26 mesa ridge has yet to score here in the third quarter they get it down to whittick and canard up top ring trying to set screens up top tca is wise to it all they'll get it inside dj king king being double-teamed they'll work it around to nelson shot up got it and the first three points of mesa ridge in the second half of course come from devin nelson yeah for mesa ridge if you need to bust that slump a little bit get him open in the corner frank moore's open doesn't want it stevens will take it from up the top three johnny stevens with seven points in this game his first three of the night [Music] mesa ridge rightly so an impressive team 12 and four they've only lost four times this year three to five a teams goes inside and that's gonna be a foul on tca it's going to be on frank moore his second he's picked up two quick fouls and it looks like ethan boyles who has three fouls of his own is set to come back in as will cade walker and devin nelson will go to the line here's another look yeah good luck getting inside right there devin nelson just hit a three on the previous possession goes in the lane that time and draws the foul got the first one so now he's over his average 16 points for nelson out comes stevens out comes frank moore and i mentioned dave they've lost four games have mesa ridge this year three to five eight teams the only 4a team that beat them was pueblo south and that's the 9th ranked team in the state that's pretty impressive and a team that's also playing without their second leading scorer adonis wallace is out with an ankle injury nelson hits him both he's now two of three from the strike tonight and tca quickly brings it up stolen away by nelson a good job ripping the ball away from couts he takes it down can't get it to go ring hanging on the rim tca fans want him to call that nothing worth calling really and there's a bump out top that's going to be on zach ring they'll call that zach ring went up and he he was he was trying to go up after that block he got hung up inside i think he thought he was going to land on somebody he grabbed the ring held the rim held on for a second looked underneath him before he let it go and then coming back the other way he picks up his first foul of the game counts inside belcher working on whidick got it jared belcher two more points that's 12 for the senior [Applause] this is exactly the way kevin wenger wanted this quarter to go as they now have a seven point lead on mesa ridge inside king stripped away got it back comes to canard looking for the alley oop to devin ricketts ricketts caught it but he was fouled going in yeah they're gonna get they're gonna get cade walker with the foul and as ricketts was going up to catch that little eleop we'll take a look at it right here walker just backed underneath him just took the the legs out from underneath ricketts so going to the free-throw line the senior devon ricketts walker's second foul ricketts misses the first he'll have one more and maybe that's the achilles heel of coach yance robinson's team is maybe the free-throw line yeah just two for six tonight as a team from the line hits that one five points now for ricketts and here's that press good job breaking it quickly there by ethan boyles he throws it up for belcher there's gonna call a foul i believe on canard davion canard gets his second of the game boy what a great look as he was trying to feed belcher over on the far side the foul was called on the floor before we'll get a good look at it right here just release that ball a nice play there by boyle's looking for belcher belcher up top backs out on walker and that ball amazingly goes into couch's hands couts down the lane to belcher he's open on the side won't go rebound nelson quickly up the court the king and belchers there defensively a nice steal by the senior quickly up ahead to lamberth and two what a great play by jared belcher what a beautiful bounce pass a half court bounce pass right on the money what a great feed by belcher now ricketts mesa rich coming back down eight here in the third quarter good job defensively tca couldn't be playing better really canard inside they're going to get a foul let's see if they call that on couch it'd be his first and they do they do bryant coutts picks up the foul on the play and by going in davion canard was going in and was a little bit out of control on that it was a good thing for him he drew the foul here's a good look at that bounce pass look at that are you kidding me right on the money to lambert for the layup belcher had stolen the ball good job getting back defensively to steal that ball and then the presence of mine you've got possession they're looking they're having a killer instinct tonight they're saying we're not just going to hold on to this ball we're going to try and score more points and remember it was jared baucher that missed the shot on the baseline hustles all the way back he's the first titan down the floor to get that steal and while we're talking about all that stuff ethan boyles comes up with his fourth personal foul he has to leave the game [Music] and so bennett holmes back in for tca dean up against devin nelson up top trying to step over the screens from both ring and ricketts and they get it to king in the corner ricketts gets the king inside shot up and good dj king good offense for mesa ridge yeah nice catch goes up with the left hand puts it off the backboard so now it's a six point lead tca lamberth has it across the timeline gets it to this fellow sophomore walker now in the corner counts and we're going to turn over the basketball there's brian counts 6-2 senior forward seven seniors on this tca team a couple of sophomores cracked the starting lineup so this is a veteran club they've got six conference wins already on the season that ties the school record and we're just about halfway through that conference schedule yep so it's a record-setting year as belcher is the three-point shooting king in the all-time scoring king speaking of king dj drives baseline and scores right on cue how about that king a king and another king king with eight tonight coach wenger wants me to stop saying king look at this drive back the other way for bennett holmes stolen away but belcher steals it right back count it jarrod belcher the fortunate offensive rebound the bucket and the score boy the hustle from jared belcher look at him here gets in a little head fake draws the foul a lot of contact he's getting pushed all the way under the basket jared balcher gets the bucket he will go to the free-throw line and i think he told bennett holmes that was a nice assist yeah thank you very much the clock is still running and the official has come over to the scorers table now to tell them exactly how much time to put back on and i don't think we're going to play with 13 minutes and 50 seconds dave although it really is a great ball game left third quarter and joshua frank moore is coming in for the shooter so belcher will have one shot got it jared belcher is half a point shy of his per game average at 15 points four rebounds two assists couple of steals as well pretty good night already for jared belcher up top ricketts mesa state had nelson open down low didn't see him now inside canard easy bucket for davion canard yeah what a great look and davion canard wide open under the basket now across the timeline cade walker gets it to stevens knocked away by canard here comes mesa ridge back up the court david nelson to canard got it again two quick baskets for daveon canard why would you go anywhere else if you're davion canard he was on one side he was on the other side two buckets within about two feet of the basket almost stolen away again by mesa ridge here's a nice pass inside johnny stevens brings it down swing it cade walker to lamberth lambert thought about it tca gonna take their time 45 seconds left here in this quarter stick it out top and tca may hold this for the last shot if they don't find anything open quickly lambert to stevens thrown away as lamberth wasn't looking for it and dj king quickly comes up with that and i believe that went off king and they're gonna give it to tca 28.7 seconds left and yance robinson thought it was kicked by tca telling the official but it'll be tca basketball robinson what a great job he's done with mesa ridge in his first year well he really has yeah i mean he started out winning 11 in a row 12 and four overall first place in the conference micah lamberth breaking the press single-handedly does a good job to get it to frank moore and that one almost gets me in the face everything okay is my nose there it's it's right there everything looks good okay the water the lemonade everything's in its place good deal michael lambert inbounds johnny stevens 20 seconds now for tca they'd love to have more than the three-point lead at the end of three here but man mesa ridge can put on that pressure frank moore gets it down low to lamberth and they're gonna call that on joshua frankmore that is a tough call the offensive foul 9.9 seconds coach wenger can't believe it mesa ridge now has a chance to cut this lead or tie it up before the end of the third canard up top guarded by belcher takes it inside won't go rebound three seconds two seconds belcher tried to get it to frank moore but too late shot wouldn't have counted and that's the way three quarters ends tca with a three-point lead we'll come back with quarter number four you're watching high school basketball on 20 tv back inside the classical classical academy campus the titans with a three-point lead they had a three-point lead at the end of the first they got a three-point lead at the end of the third yeah and in between there mesa ridge was up two at the half that uh that third quarter tca outscored mesa ridge by five points but they scored the first nine points of that quarter so as the as the quarter went on mesa ridge got better and better and we see tyrell smith his first time into the game for mesa ridge pressing the basketball up front against johnny stevens joshua frank moore inside cade walker goes to the basket won't go frank moore there stevens there up and in count it again another chance for a three-point play for tca boy how about the work down low by johnny stevens doing a great job there's there's johnny stevens right there first he has the box out gets the rebound goes up in between two grizzlies goes up gets the bucket johnny stevens on the night has nine points but he's he's hitting the boards hard as well and again the rebounds for tca playing a huge part in this basketball game and free throws as well those are going to be big down the stretch six-point lead titans canard up top to ricketts gets it to king being guarded by lambert they're trying to get the ball inside to devin nelson frank moore's doing a great job on it ricketts has terrell smith he'll come up top mesa ridge playing with not a lot of players tonight gets it to ricketts up top shot up won't go rebound smith takes it back up inside he can't get it to go and kate walker comes down with it gets it quickly to michael lambert and smith keeps the pressure on him as he comes across half court lamberth an impressive ball handler as a sophomore for this titan team gets it to frank moore had it knocked away so he could dribble again comes inside blocked by devin nelson a good drive to the basket though by frank moore again the pressure outside he just takes it in here's a good look at frank moore coming in by time he gets that shot off he was so low in his jump it was blocked easily by nelson but titans remained possession zach ring back into the game now for mesa ridge for smith stevens dribbles out tries to turn on ricketts now they get it to belcher up top and the titans will take as much time as they can here in this fourth quarter nursing a six-point lead belcher inside walker back to belcher he'll drive the lane got it open nelson had the ball i think we're going to call that on canard nope they're going to call it on nelson that is devon nelson his second we'll take a look at it well usually you see jared balcher shooting the three nice quick first step as he gets into the paint and you saw the foul there by devin nelson i think i saw nelson i think he got him on the arm before he did block the basketball so good call down inside tca kevin wenger going to talk to his team right now and dave what do you think the most important things are they need to do here to keep this lead win this basketball game well they're doing a pretty good job with that pressure and you can just look at that mesa ridge with that full court press they are giving tca problems all over the court but they're doing a pretty good job handling they're gonna have to make their free throws tonight tca four for five at the line they're doing a good job mesa ridge just three for seven at the free throw line titans will get a couple of chances at the line right here you look at the scoring good balance distribution by tca belcher with 15.

Mary's pirates Camden raid L Jack Belton Jonathan pattern us Draven Hackley and Gabe Calhoun we'll get the nests starting nod and for discovery came in summer it'll be Seth Clausen Caleb go dilution Caleb Blackburn Darren Whisman and chase Rodgers and Vince there should be a pretty good matchup as you mentioned last last year's st. Mary's they'll line up outside of the circle this ball has to come outside of the circle before they can shoot it Avery Butler sends it down stopped their push for the Wildcats continue to try and move that forward but they just couldn't get anything set up as the Lancers defense comes in close on them now that ball is closed and we've got a whistle and we've got a back of stick obstruction we have an obstruction call right there so and that's when you get those corners a lot of the goals are scored in this game off the corner so defensively if you can find a way to defend that off and get the ball out of the circle that's a good thing and Liberty made a substitution into the game number 21 Penny Schwab Schwab is in there on the left side now and that ball goes out and it'll be Lancer ball right there Riley hey chill one of the captains on this Lancer team tried to play it ahead to Schwab just mister but it's picked up in the middle by Madeline bourgeois she'll get the call they back off and here we go up the field here come the Lancers their first time across midfield with the ball over running it slightly Mac doodle or try to get it inside to Baum Berg I'll come back out and lancers will move it right back in swab sends it inside looking for Bombur bomb burg right at the top of the circle couldn't turn on it there it goes out of bounds nope it does not a Wildcats will play excuse me that was Mac do Tavor in there not bomb burg well that was the first time Liberty had not only got the ball over midfield they got it all the way down into the circle had a chance but good job by st.

Scott's vertical plane there then we have a legal contact that would probably be a file so Scott to the line misses the first gets the second one Zach Anderson doing a good job so far he only has two fouls dn up Joel Scott the entire game so far Boston gets it to Marshall that across the time line back across clawsome he'll take the three can't get it to go inside Anderson tips it out but the Rangers come away with it Ragsdale working on Clausen bumps him they're gonna call it Ragsdale with the bucket and a foul he's got 14 great take there by Ragsdale I mean he took the contact perfectly as we take another look he went looking for it kept the ball away from the defender to make sure he could get it up nothing Annette Ragsdale again got it and that 10-point lead is now to cut to 6 I was a great call guess Clawson was moving Marshall back across knocked out by Scott it'll stay with discovery Canyon discovery canyons done a great job on the defensive end they let six steals in a couple of blocks but they're gonna have to find an answer for either Scott or Ragsdale because those two have 30 of both farmers 32 points in this game Anderson comes inside they're gonna call a charge on Anderson for his third foul of the game that's a tough one for the Thunder let's look at it again Andy maybe talk us through this oh here what's the defender allowed to do right work in the defender go defender can go laterally and move backwards and they what we see is that the thundercats the common misconceptions that the defender has to be stationary he's moving backwards there's contact that's offensive foul he's gaining an advantage from that if we don't call that thank you for that explanation again nice having you here Andy there's a shot outside Ragsdale can't get it to go rebound grow dilution and the Thunder will try and build back up that lead build that lead back up case there's an English teacher watching Marshall inside Blackburn thinks about it goes up little hook shot can't get it to go rebound by Nami the rain just pushing it up looked at Baca didn't want to get him the ball now it comes down the lane puts it up ill-advised shot maybe for Nami back to throw dilution long pass over to Blackburn and they'll swing this ball around Blackburn has a huge size advantage inside on the interesting to see if discovery candy takes advantage Thunder will just swing it around grow dilution working on Joel Scott he'll bring it inside put it off the glass won't go Blackburn over the back of Joel Scott and he put your post player in a bad position there I mean the defender on the six-foot-seven Blackburn was only about six feet tall and then he just put him in a bad position great box out there by Scott to get Blackburn coming over the back so three fouls now on Anderson and Blackburn for discovery Tammy and coach Campbell's gotta work good job for Scott Blackburn didn't want to get his fourth foul great spin moved there by Scott in the drop step just a little bit too quick even if Blackburn didn't have it's three fouls that was a great move 17 now for Scott three in the second half Jackson Smith in the corner this is Riley Marshall shut up just misses it Blackburn can't get it again weary of that possible fourth foul chase Rodgers set to come in for the Thunder down the lane up won't go go dilution good job at the box out comes up he's got Marshall with him in Blackburn on the right he'll take it up Blackburn offensive board puts it up and in Kayla Blackburn again timeout discovery King in let's sit right here and talk about this 42:34 tough foul trouble now for the Thunder yeah they've got two of their stars Blackburn and grow dilution both excuse me Anderson in Blackburn both with three fouls to take a look here Blackburn great job following the play getting yet another offensive rebound and two more points he's got 16 as he continues to use that class you don't see a lot of kids nowadays go glass use that that box is there for a reason and a lot of kids don't use it but Anderson's to earn Blackburn said a great job Blackburn and Anderson have really been the catalyst for this Thunder team they're also playing great defense so far and I'm sure coach Campbell's reminding all the players of the three fouls he is sitting down Anderson and Blackburn right now so the Thunder this is a key point in this game 358 left third quarter they want to stay in this game with Blackburn and Anderson on the bench and then we'll see how they do that is those two have 25 of the team's 40 points so there are a couple other scores out on the floor but your two big ones are currently riding the pine now maybe this is Joel Scott cut off nicely by the Thunder defense they'll get it outside Kreischer can't go zaxon Jackson Smith with a rebound pushes it forward and the Thunder will set it up I would be surprised if coach Campbell wants him to slow it down a little bit with both of his leading scorers out of the game then get through this last three minutes or so and still hold this lead great feed inside nice cut for Seth Clausen inside nice pass from Marshall Boston couldn't finish but he does get the foul and that's what our official Andy heõs talking about you know most of the time the Thunder have been getting uncontested shots this time it's contested that's why they get a foul he was wide open underneath though when he took that initial pass if he had just turn around and gone straight up he would have had it in easy to misses the first second shot coming for Seth Lawson you see his line misses the second - tough misses Kreischer with the rebound and here comes the Rangers discovery Canyon just 2 of 5 from the line in this game Luis Palmer 11 of 13 so 9 point difference there nam a hits a 3 is first 3 points of the game the senior guard averages seven and a half a game gets his first three here in the third quarter row dilution steps inside got it to go Caleb grote Ellucian has four nice move micro dilution this kind of made one quick move and they went straight up comes Ragsdale and Vaca drives into the lane down low Granger's moving that ball around now Joel Scott I soaked with Clausen Hill's turn shot up and I gonna call the foul on Seth Lawson great upper-body strength there by Joel Scott as he took contact and still went moving forward and just got again a soft touch off the rim good call right Andy yep I saw contact on the off hand but violating again is vertical space and the free throw is good the three-point play for Joel Scott and suddenly it's a two-point game and Scott's got 20 here he had a very quiet second quarter but he's come out here in the 3rd and really turned it back up knocks the ball away here and gets it back runs it to Ragsdale Ragsdale throws it up won't go Scott with the rebound and putback make it 22 for Joel Scott and we're tied up for the first time in a long time Lewis Palmer has really turned up the intensity here through the first half of the third quarter download grow dilution coach Campbell has seen enough he wants to get Zach Anderson back in there to D up Scott and Lewis Palmer's have gone into a 2-3 zone and what they were playing a lot of man-to-man but they'd switched it up into a 2-3 zone now foul called on no Ibaka his second and Zach Anderson there you see the big man coming back in he will come inside from chase Rodgers grow dilution inbounds the ball underneath gets it in to Anderson right away and the Thunder will work the offense Anderson sets up at the high post nice job down to grow dilution couldn't finish inside he gets his own rebound he's going to go back up inside no fouls called and they're going to get Jackson Smith for a reach-in coach Campbell is being watched closely by the official all campus hot Andy I don't want to ask about the call I want to ask what you do as an official when a coach is heated you know it's a tough part of the game do you give them a little bit of slack how long before you call them with the technical game they're trying to protect their team and get extra possessions so we understand that in that case they're you know it's a tough call this year we've been able to implement a new rule across the state where we can give coaches a bench warning we don't necessarily have to go straight to a technical foul now and that's helped the game a lot that's nice couple of steals for each team while we're away here Zach Anderson knocked it out of bounds it'll be Rangers ball and again they're watching Paul Campbell yeah on that call there you know certainly we're trying to officiate contact but that's that includes the offensive player well as well you know offensive players tend to try and generate contact if they can be illegally Ragsdale now up top Lewis Palmer had a chance to take the first lead of the game up and no good for Ethan Forrester but he will have a chance to give him the lead from the foul on gray work down low by Lewis Palmer they had a couple guys crashing the boards their enforcer went straight back up he didn't take too much time after he grabbed that rebound Jackson Smith now has four fouls [Applause] and Ethan Forster goes to the line got the first one Lewis Palmer's first lead of the game that's foresters first point of the game is Luth Palmer now 13 of 15 from the line and coach Campbell decides to keep Jackson Smith in the game with those four fouls he did not start this game but he has played most of it sophomore guard from the cornered revolution grabs that one out of the air now Smith up top looks like the Thunder may be playing for the last shot here in the third quarter Smith is they work against that Rangers own cuts it inside and gets a call that's what you got to do against its own you either got to get somebody who can get in there and kick it out to a wide-open three or you got to move the ball quickly and discovery Canyon just wasn't moving it around the arc quickly enough so he went into the middle that foul called on no Ibaka that's his fourth so Baca in trouble as well as Smith throw the Lucien way outside of Marshall and they'll play catch on the right side Anderson up top good job by coach Benton going to this zone but they do get it inside to Anderson I'll kick it out Marshall nice ball movement still 14 seconds DCCC taking their time anderson turns into scott they're gonna call a held ball that's gonna go to the Rangers nicely done by Scott to get all ball cuz he saw Anderson and just bear hug the ball as he turned right into her 4442 Lewis Palmer Jackson Smith on Nami Nami brings it up they're out front but three seconds not sure if anybody recognizes it get it in the corner Forster shot up won't go and that's the way we end three-quarters Lewis Palmer's come back and taken the lead out scoring the Thunder by eight in that quarter but the big man Caleb Blackburn will be coming back we'll be back with the fourth quarter after this on twenty TV [Music] you back inside discovery Canyon there's a look at coach Paul Campbell who was addressing his team he's got a couple players in foul trouble actually three one with four and two with three but he's going back to Kayla Blackburn who's having a heck of a night and Zach Anderson they both have three fouls and Paul Campbell's getting a little heated right now he's fairly calms the Thunder have the ball down to Clawson Blackburn he'll shoot the three can't get it to go rebound on the backside good job I go dilution comes right back inside Anderson puts it up and I gonna call him for an offensive foul I'm assuming coach Campbell won't like that keep our eye on that situation here's another look at it Scott moved to go over it just it looked like at the last second and picked up yet another charge that's at least a third that he's picked up in this game let's talk to Annie he'll Andy you talked to us up the misconception that the defensive player can't be moving he can be moving laterally or backward is what you said correct I mean my guess is most fans and most coaches don't understand that especially fans but do coaches get a learning do you guys go with coaches show them yeah so before the season starts all coaches are required to attend the rules meeting certainly we talk about plays that are difficult block charge that's where we make a lot of our money the really good refs know how to officiate block charge traveling troubling - tough call these kids are starting to be better athletes they can make certain moves that you know live it's hard for us to find a travel but when we watch it on tape like wow we missed that call right Carter Kreischer now back in the corner - black Bernie hits the three Caleb Blackburn having one heck of a night for the Thunder 19 points for a Blackburn including the team's first three-pointer tonight Konami which gives them back that one-point lead outside Forrester Forrester working on goes inside and he will get fouled lots of contact in there by grow dilution but they're gonna call it on Seth Clausen put a collar on either guy really second foul on Clawson and Forrester goes to the line again that's four on go dilution four on Seth Clausen lots of players in foul trouble for the Thunder now Forrester misses that one and he'll have a chance to tie it up yeah Clausen Smith and Anderson all with four fouls Blackburn still has his three he misses full revolution with the rebound Thunder need to do something on the offensive end now up the lead Marshall back to grow dilution gets it across the time line in the corner and here comes Clawson up top sometimes as a coach you just want to play those guys until they foul out here's Anderson inside can't get it to go nice rebound by Blackburn out top Anderson wants it can't go rebound the kaguro dilution trying to get it nam a comes back with it Rangers trying to get that lead back they've had him they've had it once tonight Ragsdale working on grow dilution puts it up and in Matt Ragsdale and we've got a timeout by Lewis Palmer's coach Benton takes that one and Jason some people might be asking why it's timeout right there you just made just made a basket he's gonna make a change here or something yeah he's probably I don't see anybody here at the table but he saw something that maybe he didn't like and you can see him talking to his team about whatever that is to make sure that they get the memo here on the defensive end I think for Lewis Palmer the change really going to the villain of his own defense here in the second half has really helped them out defensively yeah discovery canyons only hit that one three-pointer which Blackburn just hit here in the corner just a minute ago so they haven't been able to break up his own from the outside and when they've gone in Lewis Palmer has really done a great job of crashing and double teaming and not picking up too many fouls as they only have four here in the second half and Andy from your officials viewpoint you know Louis Palmer and any team in his zone you're gonna be in better defensive position to start with anyway usually right we can't sit back and watch because teams should still be attacking to try to penetrate the zone you know lose Palmer like we said at the beginning of game they got a lot of links and they create a lot of deflections and that creates a lot of problems for us with deflections because we get these type of plays here black room with the miss his ball knocked around a lot girl Lucian's trying to get it backwards got it now they're gonna call a hail ball but coach Paul Campbell wanted and I think coach Campbell got the hint to calm down a little bit he's dead he's been less wordy here in the fourth quarter it's a poor time to coach your team now may over to Forrester and back to Nami [Applause] and work it inside they're gonna call it offensive foul against Carter crusher great job there from Riley Marshalls he just stood his ground and took the shoulder from a much bigger player yeah it looks like he extended his arm a little bit to there kind of threw up the elbow into the chest back to Clausen and marshal discovery Canyon there's a ball knocked away by Forester into the backcourt class and got it back move it over the blackburn he's been shooting that he got it this time Caleb Blackburn Blackburn the only two three-pointers coming from your big man who's got 22 points six-foot-seven center out beyond the rim nam a puts it up won't go Marshall with the rebound the Thunder need to build this lead coach once play 31 let's watch it against this trapping zone now for the Rangers scroat Ellucian breaks it gets it to Blackburn he wants to shoot it again can't get it to go but there's a foul inside and that's against Gro dilution they call the offensive foul and Jill Scott picked up yet another charge I believe that's the fourth one that he's picked up on discovery Canyon [Music] just do it in there and took the charge and he stayed through the entire play Gordo Lucien passed the ball while he was still in the air a lot of players would have just peeled off Ragsdale got it Louis Palmer fans in attendance like that we're tied again to 48 and Ragsdale with 19 doing his best to keep up with Scott who's got a game-high 22 he and Blackburn Anderson to grow dilution he'll drive on Scott and this time they're gonna call Scott for the block Andy what you see different from he took a charge last time this time it's the block call you know I don't think he has a legal guardian here you know we got a heavy attacker here he's he is moving backward but we don't have a legal guardian position established which is the term we're gonna use all time inside a black firm for two more points he's the leading scorer in the game tonight and he needs to continue to be for the Thunder to hang on and win this thing he's out guarding Scott now pushes the ball to naama in the corner inside working on Andersen who didn't want to get another foul and a good job by Carter Kreischer it'll be interesting to see if Lewis Palmer it starts going after whoever Andersen is guarding with those four fouls because he's really like guys kind of just go by not trying to pick up that fit be interesting to see if baby Campbell goes to a zone as well Blackburn again outside can't get it to go no one crashing this time the Rangers get it but knocked away by Blackburn good job Michaela Blackburn with treating on defense and getting that steel and we've got a timeout called by coach Campbell and we'll keep it right here Jason I'm wondering coach Campbell maybe gonna try and protect some guys maybe go to his own on the defensive end yeah that wouldn't be back that's the man-to-man like you said when they went in against whoever Anderson was guarding he put his hands up but didn't put up too much of a fight because he didn't want to pick up the fifth which would really hurt this team because he's their second leading scorer so far in this ballgame 339 left fourth quarter Paul Campbell's got to be happy I mean we talked about this pregame if you look at on paper yes it was a nine-point game last time but you look at it on paper Lewis Palmer is the better basketball team coach Campbell hats off to him and his team tonight they're playing the perfect game in order to be able to get a chance against the Rangers and they seem to match up really well against Lewis Palmer I mean the Rangers have some Heights with discovery Canyon can match that and when you have a guy like Blackburn who can truly be a difference maker both inside and as we've seen outside as he's hit two three-pointers it can really change the tone of a game there's a good look at Caleb Blackburn who we can tell you is going to Penn University on a golf scholarship was part of the state championship team here discovery candy last year the first boys team to win a state title that golf team someone might want to alert the Penn basketball team they got a decent player on their golf squad Seneca Lawson an Ivy League school - that's pretty impressive lost ball Blackburn got it back in the corner go dilution and the Thunder will work that ball around maybe this was what Coach Campbell is talking to him about to get it outside Marshall put three won't go rebound tried to get his own Ragsdale comes up with it now the Rangers will try and take the lead good offense discovery can you did a great job of kind of whipping the ball around that time they found a wide open shot just couldn't knock it down inside tipped away by Blackburn and he comes up and gets the ball great job by Kayla Blackburn they're gonna call him for a travel look Blackburn is just absolutely everywhere tonight offensively defensively he has done absolutely everything that you can ask of a class you cannot fault the effort of Kayla Blackburn you see him get possession of the ball here and then stumbles takes almost three steps before he dribbles that basketball nah man up top to 45 now left in the fourth quarter [Music] Forester gets a screen from Scott comes up top almost stolen by Blackburn Scott comes inside a little bit contested Anderson is there rebound by the Rangers and Kreischer had the ball inside 22 and Ragsdale and I'm going to talk to any antihero here in just a second that fouls going to be on Caleb bro dilution and Andy the three second starts again after the rebound correct yeah what's a shot goes up then we have a new three-second talent yes they were screaming for three seconds but he had only had it for probably about one just kept arriba totally get what Coach Campbell wants he wants possessions yep we just smile at him as we go back up the court Kreischer hits both free throws a two point lead for the Rangers Clausen deep pass to blackburn cross two nice ball movement as the Thunder skip pass Blackburn gonna bring it inside kick it out Marshall being very deliberate now gonna look for a really good shot Blackburn will take that one from the corner welco thought he had it Scott with the rebound the Rangers now can take a two-possession lead great possession there by discovery Canyon again to find an open shot blocker just got unlucky as that hit every portion of the rim Ragsdale inside got it over Blackburn four point range early to possession game thunders got a score it was Anderson up top he'll stay way out top now and timeout Paul Campbell's he wants to talk about it 131 left how big of a basket was that for Matt Ragsdale down the other end Jason yeah that was nice play there by Lewis Palmer they took their time got the shot that they wanted that last possession by discovery Kenny I thought it's interesting that they've got Blackburn out here on the three-point arc he's shown us that he can make that they've got crota Lucien down low as the post player not sure why you wouldn't make me switch those two and try and get it into blackburn for an easy two points which he's shown that he can do over this Louis Palmer defense chase Rodgers has now checked back in for Paul Campbell the big six six Senior Center has not gotten a lot of playing time and I does average about six and a half points a game the Thunder have four play three players with four fouls and two with three two of them or one with three Clausen grow dilution Smith and Anderson all with for Blackburn still has three so yeah 20 total fouls here for discovery Canyon so and this game goes too much longer that's gonna become a serious problem especially if we head into an extra period by the Thunder that's what the Thunder are hoping for right now I got to get a basket so it's Blackburn Rodgers Clawson Anderson and Marshall in for the Thunder and it'll be Scott Nam a pryceshire Ragsdale for the Rangers along with Forester Thunder out top get it to Clausen trying to work against that Ranger zone work it back and forth and stolen away by Forester as he takes that pass and Marshall tried to get him on the foul before it had believe he did good call he was fouled on the floor before he went up and a good foul by Riley Marshall just his first so no problem there you're right very smart to take away and make him earn him from the line especially Forester who missed his last two he made his first two he's missed his last two he's a good look at Ethan at the line misses that one Forester a 65% free-throw shooter on the season but like you've said he's missed his last three trying to get to 50% on the night he can make this one got it goes to gets the basket so the Thunder now still just a two-possession game but they've got a score with 115 14 left awesome comes across the time line they look into the teeth of that Rangers own Blackburn wants it shot up can't go rebound Rangers on the run nam e-excuse me Baca pushes it back to Scott almost stolen away and look at the presence of mind by Joel Scott just to hang on to that basketball 5550 the Thunder one a foul Seth Lawson doesn't want to do it cuz this would be his fifth and they give it to him Seth Clausen is found out of this basketball game and maybe a little later foul than Paul Campbell wanted yeah coach was asking for a foul there and like he said Clausen looked like he just kind of ran by the guy but he must have reached out of we were blocked by the offensive player so Clausen fouls out Baca shot good that mountain gets a little bit bigger as it's a six-point game now Baca can make it seven three possession game Thunder got a score fast 5750 Blackburn thought about Anderson wants it in the corner shot out won't go rebound Smith tried to get it goes out of bounds it's gonna stay with the Thunder coach Campbell wanting you got to get a three here 35 seconds yeah they've had an opportunity for threes the last couple possessions just haven't been able to knock him down Anderson wants it shot up way off rebound Scott and he spins out of there no fouls called takes his time what a great job by Joel Scott presence of mind to pull that back out seven-point lead this game is over if they can just let that clock run out he finally gets fouled [Applause] and that's gonna be Blackburn that's gonna be his fourth back into the game will come Caleb grow dilution and Scott to the line got the person what's he up to now Jason he is a twenty three game high 8 and 9 from the line so he's definitely earned a good portion of those points Rangers call him out their defense Scott it's the next one nine point lead now the final seconds in poll Campbell wants to talk about it pretty tough road to hoe here down nine with 12 seconds Jason yeah and they've had some good looks at three-pointers their previous three or four possessions and just haven't been able to knock them down and that if essentially is what killed them and got him to this nine-point deficit well we talked about at halftime they were shooting very well in the first half but they were shooting from inside they only started to rely when they started to get behind they started to shoot some more threes and they're just they're just not making them tonight no they're 2 of 15 as a team overall discovery came and I believe they were probably I think they were about over 4 in the first half so they put up double digit three-pointers here in the second half and have only made two there's a nice shot Namie outside and again Matt Ragsdale it's been the ragsdale and Scott show yes it has those two a45 of lp's 59 points they've been doing it mostly inside to there haven't been a whole lot of outside shots from either one of those guys they're only one of six combined from three so a lot of it's been in the paint Marshall gets it in Jackson Smith he's thinking about it shoots it from outside no rebound Kreischer inside and a foul quickly called against Marshall that's his second and that should be it I would wouldn't be surprised if this win once the Thunder inbound of all they just run out that clock trying to shoot it three quick but should be the last free throws we see tonight they're gonna need Reggie Miller here on this team what did he have was it nine points in eight seconds or 11 points in eight seconds that's the type of miracle they're gonna need crushers first one good ten point game now and the second shot up and good for Kreischer 65 senior forward here we go the Thunder will try and just make this one look a little prettier tomorrow morning's paper Blackburn shot won't go rebound grow dilution and that's the way it'll end but you could see the excitement from the Louis Palmer Rangers this seems eighteen two to ten and one in league and they were taken to the wire tonight by the Thunder despite that final score yeah pulling out a victory like this is huge because in that first half discovery Candide was hands down the better team in this ball game to Louis Palmer like he said very happy to escape with a victory that'll do it for our live broadcast from Discovery Canyon where the Thunder gave Louis Palmer all they could handle but the Rangers won at 61 250 moving to 19 and to 11 and 1 in league play the Thunder fall to 10 and 10 5 and 7 in Pikes Peak League action for Andy Hyo Jason Carter and our entire 20 TV crew signing off from Discovery Canyon thanks for watching tonight we'll see you next time on 20 TV

Mary's ends up with the ball go work it on the side and discovery Kane comes out in a man-to-man defense work it on the side now down low this is Camden Ray del rey del driving inside up off the glass won't go rebounded nicely by Seth Lawson another senior for discovery Canyon he'll bring it forward it'll be interesting to see how these teams do inside the paint early discovery Canyon a much bigger much taller team than Saint Mary's is this is Darren Wisman mentioned 20 points a game off glass no good easy rebound for Blackburn and she goes high to grab it away 6 7 he's gonna get a lot of those he sure is and that's that size advantage we talked not just a moment ago a nice job defensively but on the line Draven Hackley had the ball and actually we're gonna get a foul called and that foul is gonna be on chase Rodgers that'll be his first six six senior Center for discovery Canyon with the first foul of the game st.

Mary's they take it right back the other way good defense there by the Lancers Highland McCulloch cut that one off and she will push it forward try to get it to anteroom Oh cut off now by Jasmine Beal Wildcats lost it out of bounds Kyla McCullough will pick it up there tried to sweep it forward a good play defensively but they make her back off got to give her five yards jessica plans will now play it Avery butler cuts it off but here comes the Lancers and now Darien Smith breaking through for the Wildcats cats doing a good job of keeping possession of that ball and just moving it forward and doing a good job of protecting at that time they drew an obstruction call against Liberty and you know you talk about in any sport you play whether it's basketball protecting the ball protecting the puck in this one you're protecting that ball and turning your body and you can't obstruct anybody so that's when you do that you do a good job of protecting you can get some calls like that on the left side now moved ahead for the Wildcats pushed forward against the defense they'll try and move it inside and another good job at the Lancers to get that ball cleared out of there caelum mccullough doing a good job defensively so far today that was a great job by McCullough of getting down low and using the length of that stick to block that ball look at ball is right in the center and we have a call another set an obstruction this is gonna be yeah it's an obstruction and gonna lead to another corner of the second corner of the game for for Saint Mary's and the last time the ball came out just a little too far ideally you want that ball just to come out maybe about a foot or so set it up make a quick pass across for a shot before the defenders as you can see they have to line up in the net so they have to come running out and they have to get in position so the quicker you can make that pass the better every Butler sweeps it out it's stopped right there by Wray check a shot inside they've got plenty of players inside there and now we've got another call off the foot and again we will get a corner and that's you talking about being in the circle and you get shots you get a lot of those violations and a lot of times in this game when you see one corner they will snowball quickly because you just keep possession of the ball and you keep it inside that circle Avery Butler will sweep it out from the corner you this time comes well up top that shot goes off the post off the post a great shot there by Veera Logan went all the way through and got off the post who was the best friend of Christina Jensen at this moment well he certainly was and then a good job by Kate hassle of getting in here comes the shot you'll see it get all the way through gets off of there and then hatch all comes in sweeps it away good job again by the Liberty defenders but they have been very busy here in the first ten minutes of this first half you the corner find that this is I mean when you spend this much time in your own end and especially with these corners and not only do you see the ladies that are lined up in the net but the rest of the team has to back up to the 50-yard line they have to stay beyond the 50-yard line until that ball is touched so you're spending a lot of energy running back and forth on these defensive corners so Avery Butler again puts it in play this time it comes up top to right Jackie it's got a player and it's swept out of there and a good job again defensively by Hatcher Kate hatch all hatchet wins on this Liberty Lancer team yep and that was that was Kate hey chill that swept that and she she was a little upset with herself because she wanted to sweep it out to the sidelines and they play it instead when the ball goes over the end line you'll see right now they're gonna bring this out to the 25-yard line it'll be a free hit for the Wildcats from there and it looks like Lilly Carr boskie took the hit is Logan again moving it inside right checky it's really having to clamp down on defense Riley hey chill it Ford the official says no no no that was not played yet back off and there's a whistle against bomb burg that's a that's a hack or a slashes as they'll call it in field hockey and she went to play that ball and just caught her opponent stick with the hook of her own stick that's a violation comes right Jackie inside and another corner for the Wildcats and if the Lancers you got to be careful here you don't want to give up too many of these corners because it does give you wide open opportunities sometimes get goals it really does and you can just see the outnumbered situation how many blue jerseys are right around the top of that circle and Liberty's been fortunate that st.

jared belcher with 19 tonight but none easier than that one right there the rick gets out top gets it to whittick whittake drives the lane back outside to ricketts ricketts in the lane and they might call him for an offensive foul once again kade walker you mentioned that that is two straight offensive fouls and he's drawn the charge both times nice job we'll take a look at it right here there's walker 23 just standing his ground gets a little shoulder bump they're going to call that on devin ricketts his third of the game so mesa ridge coming up with a lot of foul trouble now but there's a steal keeping it in bounds what a great job by devin nelson he'll go up get the foul can't get it to go and that's going to be on joshua frank moore and that is some foul trouble because frank morris gets his fourth and he's played well tonight he plays down low he's he's a six-foot guard he handles the ball he's breaking the press but having four fouls on him he will most likely come out of the game we see ethan boyles at junior guard is checking in who also has four fouls of his own and devin nelson gets the first free throw so coach wang are going to play the four foul game he'll put he'll put uh boyle's in there see how many minutes he can get from him and probably if he fouls out you'll see frank moore back in the game and speaking of four fouls coming into the game for mesa ridge their big guy zach ring he's got four fouls going out is davion canard nelson again he's three for four from the line tonight make it 4-5 so mesa ridge is going to continue to press that really worked for him in the fourth quarter as they built a 10-point lead to 27 by the end of the game when they played this game down south at the grizzlies home lamberth up top boyle's working on whitic nice cut gets it to cade walker walker just gonna hang on to the basketball almost loses it but gets it to lambert lambert loses that basketball it's gonna be over and back that's a tough mistake by the sophomore up top yeah it really is and he just took his eye off it for a second took a took a look up and just dribbled it right off his ankle we'll take a look at it right there there it is right off the foot and the turnover for lambert's boy as much as he's handled the ball tonight he's done a great job without very many turnovers certainly as whittick gets the ball inbounds from king he'll be up top thinking about taking belcher out of king tca has really forced mesa ridge way outside offensively here now king trying to drive on lamberth up and in impressive move by dj king who just uh took matters into his own hands cuts it to six now down to boyle's boyle's gonna take the shot won't go get it own rebound puts it up and ring may have just fouled out of this basketball game he certainly did and while he and he knows it right away it's six foot five with those long arms he could have went up and blocked it we'll take a look right here but he swings the arm down right there over the top of the head of boyle's good job by boyles to follow his shot get his rebound take it right back up and gets zach ring to foul out of the game boyle's trying to get on the score sheet right now and he does so making a free throw tca i've mentioned free throws are going to be key you know mesa ridge with that pressure defense if you can get them to foul you as opposed to turning it over it's going to be huge two in a row for ethan boyles and it's back to an eight-point lead titans are eight for 11 from the line tonight a good shot of zach ring as he just fouled out here's ricketts are going to call him for traveling with the basketball [Applause] that's a tough call but there's no argument from yance robinson and kevin wenger wants to take a timeout let's keep it right here 52-44 and i guess dave coach wenger just wants to tell his team get ready for it they're still going to press us we got to keep beating it and just take it to the hole and if we don't have a good open shot just keep moving the basketball because they're gonna have to foul us you know what's so impressive to me brian with this tca team is they are so versatile i mean we've seen so many different guys bring the ball up and just a couple of possessions ago johnny stevens came all the way back took the inbounds pass there's nobody in front of him he dribbled it up he's 6-3 one of their bigger guys they're so versatile they've got guys that can play in a lot of different positions you've seen frank moore the guard going down low micah lamberth has handled the ball the majority of the time but so versatile in the way that they move around their offense and breaking that very difficult press of mesa ridge coach wenger told us before the game that seven seniors on this team trying to leave a legacy and i'd say the way they're playing tonight and the way they played all season at six and three you know they're they're tied for their best conference win mark ever with six if they can get this one they'll break that leaving a legacy and just showing people that tca basketball is going to be a team to be reckoned with absolutely and even though they graduate those seven seniors these two sophomores very impressive players nice pass to belcher he goes up and in jarrett belcher two more points i've got him with 19 on my score sheet and another charge and guess who took it cade walker love the way kate walker plays look at him he's got the big smile on his face his teammates are loving it he's drawn three charges in this game tonight 10 point lead for tca and they have the basketball here's another look at it take it right there on the baseline boy just a good step he established his position on the baseline you got to stand in there with a little courage to take that shoulder in the chest he goes down and draws the foul you mentioned the seven seniors on tca we have also mentioned 10 seniors on mesa ridge so they're not beating a bunch of youngins out there they're beating the season team here comes micah lamberth stolen away by riddick ricketts oh what a dunk by devon ricketts a little bit of frustration there may be taking that one up and throwing it down he forces the turnover takes it up a little traffic he had michael lamberth coming underneath him and i'll tell you what devin ricketts did not need much time to get up and throw this one down told michael lamberth a little bit about it lamberth with his third personal foul let's go look at the sophomore there behind mr ricketts ricketts goes to the line he's one of two tonight got the second one two of three a three-point play that might fire mesa ridge up and they're gonna continue with that pressure defense belcher with it loses the basketball on whitic now he comes up with it pushes it ahead to stevens can he catch it no good look by belcher just a little bit too much in front of johnny stevens he's thrown two really good long bounce passes that one just a little outside the outstretched arms of johnny stevens if if they could have connected they get a layup at the other end but instead it's a turnover mesa ridge basketball and it's a seven-point game mesa ridge really upping that pressure down inside nice block by johnny stevens they're going to call him for a foul and that'll be his first holy cow yeah that's what i thought too looking at the scoresheet all these slash marks we have on the on the foul side here's a good look at it right there you have reached over the top johnny stevens picks up his first going to the line is that nelson devin nelson devin nelson will shoot two joshua frank moore set to come back in for ethan boyles ethan boyles gave coach wenger a look first one good great job from the stripe for devon nelson tonight what's he add now dave devin nelson on the night three for five i'm sorry five for six three four five from three point range five for six on free throws he's got 20 points and make it an odd 21 for mr nelson and just like that they've cut that 10-point lead in half johnny stevens in company bring it back up get it down frank more freight more goes up won't go and they said he walked with a basketball i thought he went right up not sure but the pressure starting to get to tca's titans it is relentless and it is all over the floor here's a look at it right here frank moore goes up but he looked good from here back to live action whittake misses a three they say it went off of dj king they're gonna give the titans the basketball lamberth gets it into his fellow sophomore and walker and gets it back everyone drops off he'll go at it against dj king both these teams play really good defense and they don't foul a lot good job by king stripping it away gets it to devin ricketts he'll throw it down again second dunk of the night and it's a three-point basketball game kevin wenger wants a timeout let's keep it right here devin ricketts and mesa ridge with dj king putting on that pressure what a great job they've done all night with this pressure it really is and taking there's the quick hands by dj king and here comes devin ricketts right actually goes up two hands throws it down his second dunk of this fourth quarter and you've got to think for coach yantz robinson he's seen what coach kevin wenger's team did they saw him fall apart in the fourth quarter when they played at their place and that i'm sure that's what coach robinson's been saying all the time just keep the pressure up keep the pressure up they're gonna fold for coach wenger you gotta say guys we can't fold yeah that's what he's saying right now and a good look at kevin winger and his team saying guys we're fine we handled the pressure very well for just over three quarters let's not let it get to us right now one of the problems is those guards for uh for tca they're in some foul trouble another look at that steal by dj king the dunk there by ricketts lambert with that turnover and for for uh for tca get this ball in and get down and set up and get that ball to jared belcher we haven't called his name for a little while belcher leading this tca team in scoring tonight he's got 21.

Mary's will bring it up we're almost a minute played and no one's scored yet that's Jack Belton with the ball up top pirates like to load up one side of the floor kind of an uneven offense they'll have three or four players on one side and throughout for a player on the left pattern ah skits it barely to Belton now up top with the step on the side down low again st. Mary's nothing doing too many tall trees inside but a great job by Gabe Calhoun to get that hook to go and it's two nothing st. Mary's yeah if he can hit that shot tonight that's gonna be very advantageous for the Pirates well if 15 points a game I'm sure there's several shots he can hit Rogers down low Blackmon doesn't want it they bring it back up top to Wisman coach Campbell telling Blackburn to just put that up inside to get it down Blackburn back out Rogers he'll take a shot and got it chase Rodgers hits from outside that's a good sign for the Thunder early going at three to at six six he's got a pretty good-looking shot from out there you expect him to be camped down around the blocks on the paint but the big fella knocks it down from way outside Belton over to rydell retail up top and Saint Mary's will work it around back to Calhoun leading scorer for the Pirates inside nice move again gets the roll and it's Gabe Calhoun for discovery Kane three he's playing tough he is not afraid to go up against that six six flail and and Gabe Caleb Blackburn at six seven he is going inside the big guys and he's making it work for the Pirates so far outside shots missed and Blackburn again pulls it down with the long arms again outside shot up won't go chase Rogers with the rebound Clausen can't get the shooting touch yet I'll swing it to Wisman Wisman outside groped Ellucian shot up won't go here comes st.

Mary's hasn't played one of these cleanly Butler sends it out they get it back to right checky checky in the middle tries to send it towards the blocks nice block kicked out of there by jensen and we've got another call yep it was kicked out by Jensen and hit the foot of one of the Liberty players which leads to yet another corner that was a pretty good opportunity we'll take a look at it right here comes off yeah just off of a backhand it was went off the foot of the Liberty player and in the Jensen Butler again you right checky stops it sends it over nice shot by Mathison trying to get it there and she will get the call by the Wildcats and the Lancers will take it over they'll try and move it up the field now and a room Oh no Wildcats get it when Liberty just cannot seem to get out of their own end they've given up six corners to the st.

problem is they're having a hard time setting up because up front that pressure defense but behind those three guys on the ball there's a couple of guys open titans just gotta look for him and find him belcher will inbound it no one's coming to the basketball to get it to walker quickly up to micah lambert he comes inside nice left hand by micah lamberth that's exactly what tca needed but here comes mesa ridge right back the other way looking at a five-point deficit canard up top to king king goes in the lane puts it off the glass won't go rebound stevens can't get it kick it back out to nelson won't go king with a rebound this time goes up on lamberth and another offensive rebound inside by canard and davion canard gets a bucket six points now for canard three-point game tca with 130 left the steal by canard shot up and good it's a one-point game belcher gets it into frank moore that relentless defense by mesa ridge you got to think about the 10-second timeline here lamberth gets it across and gets it to frank moore it's a one-point game and there's a foul out top d.j king [Applause] stands up the official wants to make sure he gets the right player with the foul and it will be king his third fourth foul excuse me we'll take a look at that steal right there quick hands by davion canard he's got eight in this second half and every one of them has been a layup right underneath the basket davion canard with that last steal and there's a good look at joshua frank moore at the line he's two for two tonight and he makes his third [Applause] [Music] 57-55-120 left you know what mesa ridge is going to do you just have to be able to combat it joshua frank moore his second shot trying to make it a clean four for four tonight and make it a four point lead got it joshua frankboard impressive tonight here comes canard quickly up the court for mesa ridge we come down close to the final minute of play kenard almost lost it there gets it back to whittick they'll keep it up top you know this man devin nelson wants that basketball ricketts back to nelson thought about the three comes inside on stevens no call as he goes down up and in for devin nelson now we're inside the final minute of play tca gonna have to get that ball across the timeline 40 seconds gets it to stevens stevens thinks about it nice spin move good job gets it to belcher and now mesa ridge might have to foul get it over to lamberth and they do whittick with the foul called and lamberth will go to the line in four mesa ridge that's exactly who you wanted to foul that's exactly right brian he's a 62 free throw shooter on the season but he's 0 for 3 tonight so we'll see if micah lambert can cash in right here he's got 10 points he's 5 for 5 from the field but 0 for three from the charity strike coach wenger loves these sophomores he's gonna love him even more after that [Applause] 59-57 second shot up won't go and a rebound mesa ridge down two under 30 seconds here comes king get the ball in the corner to nelson nelson finds a cutting man and we got a quick timeout called by yance robinson 59-57 23 seconds left coach robinson going to think about it i've got to think dave they're going to try and get devin nelson with the basketball i would think so as well he's got 23 points tonight seven to 14 from the field three of six from three point land and we'll see if they can get him a quick look but i tell you what i mean ricketts king they've all gone inside here's a good look at at that last possession that was davion kenard with one of his layups in this game and there's canard once again with the strip another layup davion canard has eight in the second half and then nice pass inside great presence of mine devin nelson we mentioned 10 seniors on this mesa ridge team that's got to help you in times like this at times of stress but tca is holding up as well and they've done a great job both frank moore and lamberth now have made some key free throws down the stretch that have kept this lead for tca it'll be interesting to see what coach wenger does defensively against mesa rich but you've got to box out you only want to give them one shot here if they miss it you've got to get that rebound that last sequence that mesa ridge had they had four shots at it and you can't give anybody four shots at it they finally cashed in so here's what you want here if you get a stop get a miss shot you got to get a rebound drop out king gets it into whittick he's gonna shoot from three interesting shot for mesa ridge and now they get it to frank moore and he gets fouled i have a hard time believing that's what yantz robinson drew up in the huddle there i would agree tristan whittick doesn't have a point yet in this game he's all for five from the field and he took that quick shot right there i don't know if you have coach robinson wanted that or not but how about joshua frank moore getting in getting yet another rebound he's got five rebounds on the night he will go to the free throw line he is a perfect four for four maybe that's what they did want because i don't see robinson going crazy oh shot will not go his first miss of the night for frank moore you want to get this one 16 seconds it'll still be a one possession game devin nelson says we're going to want to timeout if he makes it to the official [Applause] up and in no he says no he doesn't want to timeout i want to get it across halfcourt here comes dj king gets it across half court and they get the timeout call that's exactly what devin nelson said he ran down and as soon as it was across half court call timeout now 13 seconds now i wouldn't have a problem if you get it into it they can shoot them right right it was it was a two-point game before and and you call up a play for a guy that was over five on the night that surprised us certainly when when devin nelson is having a terrific night shooting the basketball dj king devin ricketts the way they've been able to get to the basket you thought maybe they're going to set up a clear-out play let them drive maybe get a layup and a foul and they ended up taking a quick three we'll see what they set up right here there's a good look robinson knows his team better than we do he's seen him play all year maybe he knows something we don't maybe he thinks whitics over five he's never gone over six today you know so let's let's give him a shot and he got a good look it was an open look he certainly did for tca you don't want to foul in this situation you certainly don't want to foul when they're shooting a three but you've got to contest the three-point shot so it's real tough a fine line to guard tough without getting a foul if they get a shot off absolutely and you know if they do get one off you've got to go get that rebound don't give them a second look at it dj king will inbound and they stack it here close to the half court line ricketts steps out he could have had it they get it to whittick again same spot he won't shoot it this time king wants a three shot it won't go rebound ricketts ricketts shoots a three it won't go tca trying hard and guess who cade walker comes up with a basketball and he is fouled boy they got two shots at it two decent looks but mesa ridge couldn't come up with a three-point and what a grab there by cade walker his seventh rebound to this game none bigger than that one right there there's 1.9 seconds left they could have got another three off there's the first shot a little off balance by dj king ricketts a little falling away just misses that one and getting down low there's cade walker getting that rebound so kade walker trying to make this a two possession game in which case it would pretty much be over with 1.9 seconds left just into the game d'angelo fletcher for mesa ridge walker shot got it [Applause] kade walker gives him a four point lead and tca will back up coach wenger says no fouls got the second one five-point lead 1.9 seconds mesa ridge knows it's over won't even shoot and what a great job for the tca titans as they get their seventh conference win which is a titan record dave a terrific game tonight brian remember this mesa ridge team beat tca by 27 points earlier they had won seven straight games over tca but you love the way the titans came out from the get-go they got the lead they held them off at the end great win for kevin winger and his troops the mesa ridge grizzlies their first loss since december 8th they had won 11 in a row they go down tonight to the tca titans 62-57 for our entire district 22 crew and my broadcast partner dave toller this is brian german saying so long from the classical academy great job titans we'll see you next time on 20 tv

Mary's on the run it's stolen micro dilution good job getting back defensively for Kayla he goes inside puts it up Rodgers with the rebound in the bucket DCC back on top st. Mary's has got to slow things down they are getting out worked on the boards three to one right now they have to do a better job patiently work in the offense because they're getting one shot and that's it back the other way Darrin Whisman goes up inside off the glass and good the official says count it and that is going to be a foul on Jonathon paternalistic it out again you see a drive in the lane the left-handed shot goes up and off the glass now you can get a better idea of why Darrin Whisman has been such a factor for these Thunder early in this season yeah averages 20 point five points a game and he's pretty steady 21 and 120 any other so Wisman toes the line trying to double up on st.

Mary's team and they got to find a way to play on the other end of the field this field has been slanted big-time in favor of the Wildcats on the far side now here come the Wildcats sweeping it inside they got a player in there Jensen stops that ball good job Schwab comes up and plays it and there we've got another call an obstruction yeah I think this is going to be a penalty stroke right here we'll see we'll have all covered up and he came up he made the the X with his arms both teams he's got the green card out so that's gonna be a two-minute penalty I'm not sure who he called it on you he's holding the green card up here here's another look at it see if we can sort out what happened in there may have been away from the camera he's talking to both coaches right now holding up that green card and they're gonna write everything down in their notebooks they've stopped the clock in boys Sue's they blew the whistle on that one both teams just scattered right off of the field so the players on each team knew what was going on he didn't know exactly what was going on but they they certainly did they both ran to their benches and we'll see if we can figure out what they what they called on that the officials are discussing it was yeah I mean he used a green card which typically will leave you a man down for two minutes yep but we didn't see who they're sending over he did call both coaches over to talk about it Jessica and her Koski and Sarah Jacobs they've neither of them seem to argue much with the call but they're both talking to their teams right now 16:51 left in the first half and if you're Jessa kara narcho ski you're probably telling your Lancers ladies we've got to get the ball yeah the right absolutely I mean it this might be a good break here for for Liberty depending on on what that call was if it went against the Lancers or not but just the break the chance to come over and and talk to your coach here is it could be huge I mean they played this whole game in Liberty's end of the field Saint Mary's had six corners they've had three shots on goal Jensen has made a couple of saves in this game and you know Liberty's got to find a way not only get control of the ball but let's get it across midfield and play on the other side for a little while and while we have a second we can talk about Kristina Jensen who has leads the state with 59 saves on the year she's done a great job for this Liberty team well she really has I mean offensively they've scored 12 goals which is more than double the amount they scored all last season and Kristina's been been solid and net and you know you look at the number of saves that means your team has given up a pretty good bit of shots as well but boy Kristina's been there all season for this Lancer team well I'm seeing 11 players out there for the Lancers who are getting Intel at the official thought that there's a look at the replay again number 23 looks like that could have been Riley hatchling hit deliberately in the leg yeah but we are we are 11 on 11 there's nobody sitting at the scorer's table so we are we are right back to play and Lancers have possession maybe the officials that's why they call both coaches over to say we made a mistake Wildcats between ahead please further up the field now the Lancers need to get possession of this ball nice job by Schwab defensively there good job keeping her stick on the ball good play keeping inbounds bomb burgers right there but you can't get control of it and now we're gonna get the call and the Wildcats will get possession really nice job by penny schwa but she got down low with the stick and just stayed in the fight the whole time stayed in the fight kept the ball in play and see if Liberty can get a little inspiration out there's a bouncing ball in the circle and an obstruction call and it'll go the Lancers way so let's see if the Lancers can get this ball up the field a little bit Riley hatchet forward intercepted by the Wildcats and it comes back that's your forwards jumping back into the play Tina bamberg as we talked about leads this team with seven goals and you know typically she's playing at the other end of the field your forwards got to come back they got to help defensively as well now on the far side of the field Wildcats running it up defensive play by Kyla McCullough my answer is trying to possession of it and they get it over to Matheson on the side and here we come let's see if the Lancers can keep possession or at least keep it on this end for a while they get a obstruction call they'll get it right there Madelyn bourgeois pushes it forward they've got numbers Mac do Devore sending it goal words stop there by the Wildcats but the Lancers are still alive inside here now an obstruction call and back to the Wildcats yes that's gonna go against Molly Matheson trying to jump in there and be there gets the obstruction or the or the foot call that little rush right there for Liberty all started with the play of Madelyn buchwald right in the middle of the field is you want to try to play wide and as we talked to the coaches and Jessica inner Koski for liberty before the game they got to get the ball wide you want to spread everybody out and then you can work back to the middle that's exactly what Madelyn buzu ah did she took that ball made a good hard pass widen it led to a good rush for the Lancers and a room Oh sends it and it's gonna go Oh just wide of the post on the outside what an attempt by Julia anteroom Oh to send that ball towards the net well I take another look at a little seeing-eye ball that just got through everything how does that ball get through clean there's feet and shin guards and sticks and everything else and well she put she put a little steam on that ball it rolled through everybody and came up about six inches just outside of the Poston cage frank moore had to dive for that one and luckily it was just wide for the Wildcats you outcomes Justin it a goal there's our first goal of the game for the Wildcats and that's gonna come from right Jackie let's take a look at it well take another look right here but they get the ball in the circle right Jackie just all alone and she turned Christina Jensen came out had to try to make an aggressive move and try to kick it away from her for liberty defensively they just can't let right Jackie be right there by herself she feels it cleanly turns on the forehand Jensen tries to come out make a play on it but she's not able to the goal goes to right Jackie and Saint Mary's Academy goes up 1-0 Reagan right Jackie one of the captains on this st.

Mary's early they missed this one rebound and run down Belton hit the ball they say Ron eager hit it over his back it'll go out of bounds or excuse me that was Zach Anderson hit it he goes out of bounds so st. Mary's will have the ball Anderson another tall player for discovery Canyon at six six a junior so they have a lot of big fellows there in the paint and the Pirates have got to figure out a way to hit some of these outside shots and not rely on the inside game so much Connor Timmons dawn Hartman and Joseph Braun occur in the game for the Pirates that tipped up by discovery candy pulled down by Wisman who is been on the run grote Ellucian on the right he'll get it trying it after Rogers goes out of bounds Rogers talking to Wisman about the pass and wait for me let me get my hand so let me get set before you make that pass but you have to like to look by Wisman he's not always looking to score Brian he's looking to find his teammates as well Timmons on the side that's Cartman work it inside they would call it on on belton and moving screen arguing a little bit about it but he's gonna lose that argument every time it's his first foul second team foul against st.

Mary's Academy team along with Lily Loftus and Lily karpowski and so st. Mary's Academy is one to nothing lead they're pushing it forward looking for more there's right Jackie again the Lancers down inside and we're gonna get a call coming back to the Lancers pushed way ahead nice hit there by the Lancers hatch about the Wildcats are back and they cover it here comes Vera Logan inside again they look for riichi WOB you and there's another call now that's just outside the circle is penny Schwab came out and contested that ball and it went off of her foot not inside so they will get a free hit right here from the 15-yard line Fira logan tries to get it back on the other side to Darien Smith a good job defensively and there's a steal for the Lancers pushing it up the field was Mac du Devore the Wildcats quickly backed to capture it back but Matheson steals it back and they get a whistle and the Lancers will take over right there now they should move their players forward and get a midfielder to come up and play this and they do Hachette forward nope it's out of bounds good try though Mac do Devore's back there really good chance right there and Reilly hatchling on that drive and she again tried to take it wide and that's what these coaches want if they can get the forwards working wide you had Mollie Matheson over there you had Mac dude over there if they could get something going wide force st.

Mary's and now the Pirates show a little bit of zone press down to chase Rogers inside Anderson dunks it home and the Thunder fans rise to their feet what a great look and a great finish by Anderson inside but tonight if discovery canyon so chooses if they work their offense like their head coach Paul Campbell wants them to they're gonna get a lot of those looks tonight no they certainly are Connor Timmons runs this one down chase Rodgers against Timmons 510 Timmons trying to work on the six seven Rodgers there's a shot inside by Calhoun rebound inside and Weininger gets foul trying to go back up with it a good job by st. Mary's boxing out as Ridinger had some good puffs position but take another look at the dunk what a bounce pass inside and that's a high percentage shot for Zach Anderson I'm gonna say he's gonna hit that almost a hundred percent of the time so what you call that high percentage yes okay first shot up and good for Ronnie ger I st.

Mary's to spread out a little bit but they just weren't able to that ball got out of bounds as a nice lift for the Wildcats into the center of the field right check ease there but it's cut off by hatch all hatches it forward just not enough Lancers going forward for this ball the Wildcats play to the left side of the field birra Logan since it out-of-bounds and it'll be Liberty Bowl on this Liberty team they can come from behind they're down 1-0 early in this game their most recent game they tied Cheyenne Mountain in a game they got behind in that one they were down 2 to 1 in the second half Cheyenne mountains got a very good field hockey team that was a great tie for this Liberty team so they do have the ability to come from behind they gave up that that early gold of the st.
