what we did is we averaged it that there would be rest we calculated on 10 restrooms in each of our 33 high schools five restrooms in each of our 45 middle schools intermediate schools and then one restroom in our elementary school being that usually if it's a fifth grade or a sixth grade usually there's a girls restroom on that wing it wouldn't be necessary in all of the restrooms in the school so that doesn't cover all of the restrooms but just the numbers that i shared heidi i know in the past that some of the schools may have had these dispensers and in time they're either broken or they're not filled etc so i'm not really sure that there's a need for dispensers and why they couldn't be just left at the health room or maybe every building could have a teacher who had a supply etc so i'm i'm you know not sure about the cost of that and then we said 855 000 per year thereafter anyway i i would rethink the the dispenser thing and the other thing is for title one schools is this something that the title one monies could be spent on we know that i checked with the mckinney-vento funding and mckinney-vento funding for our students in unstable housing can be used to help purchase these products for those students our title one funds in addition right now as we look at our title one budgets and allocations they're they're expended they're they're spent on the academics and the tutoring and the supports for that so they haven't that this cost hasn't been included in that and with the funding now that funding has been exhausted from the academic and the social arena i i want to go back to to the dispensers i agree dispensers um we put the dispensers in because of what we've heard from the girls that privacy is very important and so dispensers in a restroom do allow for that privacy they don't have to walk to the health room or another location to get their pad however that is an option if the whole ideal situation cannot you know be funded there are logistics involved in this especially with dispensers in a restroom and if they're dispensing free products the management of that as well as possibly one taking more than what is necessary for their needs at that moment could be an issue as well i'm assuming since many teachers and the hst supported this resolution that teachers would not be um would be willing to also dispense from their classrooms when you know for for needed uh menstrual products so again i'm not really sure about the dispenser and i think we should rethink that and and at least try uh maybe with the health room and the teachers uh for now or at least one or two teachers per building would be my suggestion also i think that some of the state agencies could help whether it's department of health or department of human services because they do have these kinds of agencies that have some of these products for other programs so if you could also look into that members are there any other questions i wanted to follow up madam chair thank you so heidi um so you didn't look at what the cost might be without the dispensers and using uh some other way other method of providing the needed supplies no no we did that was the second number that i gave the 853 that cost was based on the 56 or 52 643 girls that we have in grades five through 12 with the two pads per day five days right but that's but that's with the dispensers though right now though right the 1.3 million was the initial start-up cost dispensers were part of the equation if they're not and the recurring cost just for the pads every year would be estimated at 853 000 and that could always be adjusted after the first year when we actually know okay what the usage is so the 1.3 million didn't really account for the breakdown of these of the the spencers the people it would take to constantly replenish um and all of that the 1.3 million included the dispensers the receptacles and the um the the pads for the right but it's got to be maintained and it's got to be repaired and students and not just students anybody i mean we've seen these in in public restrooms where you put in a quarter or whatever or some of them are free like if you travel on airlines you know some of them have free ones but people break them anywhere right so um you know that's that's an issue and um so the cost to maintain it and keep it working and then keeping it keeping it full or you know i know in a situation where even when you pay it it runs out and when you need it the most you can't get it because um somebody didn't fill it up so these are all the things that i hope that doe or i'm sorry the schools would look at as to how logistical it would work because this is a lot of money and if the legislature don't provide it and you are required to do it where would it come out of that is an unanswered question at this time i do know that the support that we can that is available it is for a limited number of students would be our students who qualify under mckinney-vento because providing pads for those students who need that is an allowable excuse allowable use for that funding okay and then you know to say that they're only allowed uh two two a day um some women and some girls may need more some may be i don't know take it into their families so i mean you know it's a matter of how do you manage it as well because you know again that's cost coming out from somewhere and don't get me wrong i support this measure especially as a woman support it but there's all these other logistics and costs and you know how do you manage it correct thank you members further questions on this measure if not let's move on to senate concurrent resolution 203 and senate resolution 168 urging the board of education to form a special committee or permitted interaction group to monitor an account for how the department of education is spending its federal relief funds and to testify laverne moore hsta oh a bird board okay speaking of oh sugars here we go okay speaking on behalf of kari rosenlin president of the hawaii state teachers association we strongly support this resolution it will make it oh it will make it clear on how the doe is truly spending the federal funds thank you for the opportunity to testify thank you laverne next fairy nakamura hey a coalition assalamualaikum kim and members of the committee sharing nakamura director of a coalition we are testifying in support of sar 203 and 0168 and we support the boe forming a permitted interaction group to monitor and account for how the doe is spending as federal relief funds and while the boe has a finance and infrastructure committee which looks at policies regarding financial operations we feel that an investigative group made up of the chair and committee chairs would be appropriate since the federal monies can be used broadly across the system we would like the we would like to encourage that the vue create a strategic and systematic guidance for these funds particularly because they are one-time funds that we want to use effectively we provide some suggestions in our written testimonies like creating a near mid and long-term framework for the usage of funds also if the bue should need additional staff to conduct strategic analysis perhaps you could consider using some of the federal funds for this purpose thank you for this opportunity to testify thank you sherry members questions if not moving on to the next measure senate concurrent resolution 249 and senate resolution 208 requesting the board of education to authorize an e-sports program for public high schools in the states let's see she testify no one on the list to testify all right um do we need to go into okay i think we're we're ready to uh decision make members the chair is recommending that we pass out senate concurrent resolution 100 and senate resolution 77 requesting the department of education to provide three menstrual products to students of all hawaii public school campuses um i think in the committee report um so we're going to pass as is but in the committee report i think we're going to note that we'd like to recommend that we start right away that the department of education dispense with dispensers for now and try it using the health room and maybe female teachers in the schools and also to consider using federal funds for the title 1 schools as well as seek advice from other state agencies who may already be providing these products through different programs again recommendation is to pass as is chair votes eye okay chair votes mr president the reason for this is that for just these few months is that the original contract or service agreement between abm was with colorado river schools and i had started talking with logan cox the regional person in november about some things that i thought we needed to update in that contract certainly by july first when we consider renewing it for another year circumstances i think with the high school board and whatever led him to go ahead and you know separate the the thing is the two documents the two documents for the two districts would have been identical anyway um and and we don't share the cost each district pays its own rates for uh for this so it was just a matter of separating it uh and uh making it just apply to us i made some changes in his draft uh corey came and talked to me last week last week and uh and requested some explanation or some changes and some things and logan made those changes uh and so this is the resultant document uh from those changes uh to make it uh seem more reasonable for both us and for abm while they're working through it item five may i make a suggestion that since this is just between now and and the end of june that we request that that change be made in the new contract for starting july 1st right oh so this could be more than two percent gotcha you're not gonna get this or this whichever is greater okay so um okay so how do you want to handle this you want to table it until next meeting or you want me to approach um logan with just that changes in there no no and we got the amortization out that's gone um yeah so if we just get rid of the ore part from there on uh out so it's just the two percent that way it's a set figure like it is with our other contracts so we're not saying oh you might get more no no okay and we'll see if they'll accept that then if they accept it we're good okay are we okay there yeah i'm good with that all right okay then i will make the motion that we approve baby of contract with the change to number five um on that draft second well second all in favor i'm corey burgess hi amanda amen aye charlene diaz uh number 5.5 proposed coaching addendums mr president board members if you recall i asked you to approve either last month or the month before being able to use some of these coaching addendum dollars for officials for the intramural program and that coaching positions where possible would be funded with the 21st century um they filled as many as they could with 21st century and uh and were out of money so these pri are these amounts that you see on this recommendation are half of what is ordinarily oh no i'm sorry that's not true are less by at least 200 dollars and in some cases 400 less than what we would ordinarily approve and you see that some positions are not even going to be funded and then so those extra little pieces i put in the one that says officials and i estimated i have no idea what their you know what that will end up being but at least funded it for 2000.
34. all right i'll give i'll give them another touchdown late in the game well predictions are always tough you never know what to expect on the first night of the games i'm gonna go about 34-13 as well i think we're going to give up some touchdowns um you're going to expect it i think we're going to put some points up on the board though too i think we got a bunch of athletes out on the field and uh i think we're going to be able to get it done tonight we're seven minutes away from kickoff right now and uh i think we will be sending it over to break we will get ourselves set up we'll get ready for the ball game we'll send it over to the eagles the marching eagles rather mr i tour she's got everybody set up they'll sing the national anthem and we'll be ready for columbia eagles football we'll be back afterward with our sponsors [Music] bring us back to the anthem hey you got to focus on me you got to focus on me now more annalise there's your mom there's your dad welcome [Music] i would like you to ask you to please rise remove any headgear and put in place hand over your heart as we pay respect to this great country with the playing of the national anthem the colors are presented by columbia high's very own air force junior rotc the color guard is commanded by cadet major mia carrere other members of the color guard include cadet master sergeant chris craig airman gerhard feast and cadet air mayor minnie c appeal [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] number eight thomas freeze number 12 parker van storn number 21 kayla harger for 30-36 big nixture number 35 break four number forty four fourteen evan hall for february gavin mcstill number 55 bryce edmond number three and number 74 mason all right let's play college here we go our officials tonight are jim calzon john allen todd bryant yes tennessee and david holder [Music] we're ready to rock for friday night lights and week one football jared i'm ready to go redbud won the toss they elected to defer which means colombia will be receiving tonight's opening kickoff just mere moments away uh looks like our deep men are going to be is that number 26 mcconaughey i believe 20 i can't 24 21 21 kyle mcconaughey in 2018 little london little wonderful job by the band as always singing the national anthem singing playing the national anthem mr hurst he's always got them ready to go and year in and year out winning awards at parades and everything and whenever they get to the football season basketball season they're the life of the party but you make a huge difference in the game that's for sure it's football season time ladies and gentlemen kick goes off recovered by london level at the 22 and he's got a seam to go on the left side and look at london go what about that other player look at london little go for a touchdown down eagles i could have could have called him from [Music] how can you not be happy with that what do you way to start off the eagle season and uh that might be something we got to get used to seeing this in this year yeah i'm going to see the ball in his hand this year and that's always a good thing adam edmeyer is going to be on for the p88 a long long number four to 14.
they closed that down pretty good absolutely by number 20 isaiah king last completion was to number 10 preston longo for the first down amherst running a one safety back east long meadow running a looks to be four wide one back so it looks like zero tight ends four wide receivers one running back won't be surprised we see another play action here connor takes the snap play action connor going long looking got it touchdown east long meadow early way to kick it off 9 59 remaining in the first quarter any song that was on the board ain't going to look to the point lead with the extra point pending that throw could not have been any better i agree number 21 johnny ferentino the pass was completed by johnny ferentino for his first catch of the brand new season and here we go one of your teammates cj calogy here to take the extra point we were making some jokes earlier about how he's hit the crossbar in some hockey so we'll see let's hope he doesn't do it here if he's a bears fan it's really awkward he'll hear it from me if he hits the post oh yeah if he's a bear star it's really awkward talking about hitting posts flag extra point would be good but there is a flag they're going to call it on amherst amper east meadow could try to go for two they would be closer or they can decide to take this and use it on the kickoff looks like they're going to continue with this one point use it on the kickoff it looks like we've already set up for senior night as we already have the pictures up interesting second attempt on the extra point in the defense retry as as we heard offsets by called by macarini macarini great guy say much more about him as he stares at me hoping i don't make fun of him besides that uh extra point all right okay [Music] bit of a worse snap extra points good island metal will take a seven to nothing lead seven nothing once again or zero 9 59 remaining in the first quarter and here we will get to see amherst's offense obviously with there not being much to talk about since there hasn't been a game yet there isn't much we can say about either offense all we can say is that yeah there's these song with a new offense i don't even remember islamo playing amherst last year and i was on the team so definitely means we didn't play them last year if i don't remember it um cology gonna get the tea out a little late but it'll be fine uh three timeouts for each team as i'm looking at the scoreboard i don't know half to be completely honest with you we we don't know anything about this we didn't know the rule changes and yeah i mean we're we're going we're working with you guys here we know as much as you guys maybe even less because you guys might have athletes that are playing uh by the way tomorrow will be the jv football game at 11 o'clock in the morning i will be there to commentate again and luke we don't know yet he might join me as well for tomorrow back from the kick by closure we'll go first and ten on amherst defenses looks like we have about a two maybe three cornerbacks set to go with the 4-3 technique meaning four defensive linemen and three middle linebackers two two safeties and two corners along with that possibly showing a blitz here they're gonna show it run gonna go up the middle vades one gonna be brought down at about the 26th oh our apologies ball started at the 20 not the 25 so it's at the 26th second and four for amherst [Music] back on the play [Music] in high school but here we are another run taking it down the right side it's going to be stuffed at the line they'll actually give them less than a yard third and three four we'll say third and three and a half we're getting technical with you guys attack on the play but number twelve kade pointston okay boys [Music] that should lead to a fourth down would be about fourth and one they're giving it to him so it's going to be a first down they're going to say he was actually tackle they're going to say the ball was out about the 30.
so these are not full uh typical full salaries for these coaching positions they are adjusted because the length of time that they're going to be doing these programs is less than in most years they're the ones who uh yeah they're the they i worked with les eastman on this and he took it back to those coaches and they're they're all amenable to this idea these are the amounts not because we will not double dip we won't pay part we won't pay this for the same work out of more than one budget so if you notice at the top of this page uh this is this is a funded thing uh it's a in 001 620 which is the part of the m o budget that allows us to pay for coaching addendums we have another one that's 001 630 which is uh club sponsors uh and we we really haven't done any of those this year well that's not true we've done student council and maybe one other one at each site that doesn't get covered with uh 21st century and remember that 21st century is only at three of our five schools so uh so some of the things we're paying at the two schools that don't have don't have 21st century so that we can still maintain those clubs so they're different accounts they're part of 001 but they are separate accounts so we can keep track of what you know what we're whether it's coaching or it's team leads or it's club sponsors those are three separate uh funding streams for these folks do we have any idea how it's how it's going so far with our numbers are we getting large numbers out there i think they're getting more than they might otherwise and they they tell me they're having a great time and that the kids are really enjoying doing it this way i i don't i hesitate to make a prediction but there was some conversation about the fact that they might just continue doing this next year because so many more kids can participate and you know and are having a good time and whatever so i won't predict that that's what's going to happen but they're certainly having a good time right now i always had the the same back when i went to school and here we used to do intramurals and then we would have a travel team after that so then everyone got to play and then you had a travel team which means everyone got the same experience to start which means when they later on they would they would try out right high school and try out right and the only reason i ask is just making sure because if our numbers are up and it's outside of 21st century hours and that's great i just know like at the high school district we have a minimum number of our a member minimum number of students in order for to have those stipends so right i just want to make sure if we're nailing that then great i know my daughter went the other day to volleyball and had a great time yeah and we've gotten some more um some more opportunities in 21st century for kids this year uh as well so that's that program has grown this year 21st century has grown this year um uh with a number of things that we're offering kids so you know i don't feel badly about not being able to pay these coaches out of 21st century when we're offering so many other opportunities for kids in 21st century than we've done in the uh any past questions can i move we uh approve the proposed coaching addendums i'll second the motion all in favor aye corey burgess aye amanda ayman aye charlene point diaz uh chart wells dr stewart mr president and board members um uh we did the bid process the big bid process last year and chartwells uh uh received the the award was awarded the bid um and so that's essentially for a five-year um um you know but we renew each year and so this is the continuation of that they have in fact exceeded we have in fact had reimbursements in excess of what was promised in this agreement for this current year so i don't have any hesitation in recommending that we continue with this contract any questions no no uh then i move that we approve the uh chartwells agreement is presented my second all in favor aye corey burgess aye amanda aymond aye charlene diaz so moved item 5.7 classroom capacity recommendations uh mr president and board and board members um i sent you the memo to explain so i won't read it to you and i won't reiterate it but i've i've made the recommendation for those numbers that you see at the bottom any questions on the recommendations can i move we approve the classroom capacity recommendations as presented i'll second the motion all in favor aye corey burgess aye amanda ayman aye charlene diaz item 6.1 future topics do you have any future topics we'd like to see on the agenda if anything does come out please send an email were these um were these two men were that was that too many uh policies to review this time or was it okay slam them out right okay slam them out okay so i'll continue to do what what we agreed before if they seem to be easy ones i'll put more if they're hard and then i will have fewer for you and and i suspect that we will want some discussion that's a report oh yeah and i meant to mention that in my updates i'm sorry i i gave to the board members for the uh for the audience uh i gave them a draft of the junior high's proposal for an in-person eighth grade promotion for this for this year uh it is a draft and we'll have it on the agenda officially for next next time um and and i suspect by next time we'll want some conversation also in the workshop about the the rest of the esther money and where we're proceeding with some of that stuff so okay no upcoming board events not that i know of i think there's a list right there oh you have a list march 26 is that second yes the second round for new board members march 29th school district budgets march 24th tools embedding multicultural perspectives and curriculum and then equals and mays and those are open to your board members to attend just get ahold of kim yeah get a hold of kim she she plans us and they have been the ones the ones that i've been involved in this year have been excellent they've they've just done a really fine job with those so with that uh date and time for future meeting we have down here april 8th 2021 5 30 for the workshop does that work i am actually not going to be available all right for that meeting but um i probably won't be available for a few weeks to come in i'll have to do it on by phone on the 8th probably not um i mean i could be i'm just not sure yet but so just assume i'm not going to let's without i'm sure we can make it work all right yeah so it's tentatively set up for the eighth with the workshop at 5 30 um and the meeting of six okay and with that we need a motion to adjourn eye motion to adjourn i'll second that motion all in favor aye corey burgess hi amanda eamon aye charlene diaz we are adjourned thank you thank you board members [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
colin mclaren as your holder snap good hold kick is up and it is good so colombia 12 seconds into the game goes up seven nothing we didn't even get to really do an intro to the game tonight well just looking back here at uh last season's stats we had london little had uh it looks like 35 catches for 624 yards which was seven pounds with that and then he had seven carries for 44 yards which was also a touchdown that adds on with his punt return yards that he probably has and his kick return yards that he's probably got so definitely get the ball in his hands and a lot of good things can happen as you saw right there absolutely well coach kendall's kickoff or kick return team did well we'll see what his kickoff team does well then we'll start talking about coach germain and his defense so coach kendall he's one for one let's see if we can get him to go two for two as adam wiblemire returns he did a little bit of kicking last year whenever sam horner was unable to and uh he always had a pretty good leg didn't yeah he can boom it he's got a strong leg he takes his 10 steps to the back two steps to the side as always as i made fun of every year every time last year don't understand it but it works so we'll go for it really filled up in here kick is deep and it's going to make it to about the 15 yard line where it will be returned by red but they're going to go right up the middle of the field going to try to cut back and he's going to be tackled by number three bryce hildebrand and number 21 kyle mcconaughey not bad getting the ball from the 14 yard line to the about the 31 so only a 17-yard return yep and like we said earlier uh coach germain's defense comes out on the field as uh he said earlier he said storm tackling is going to be one of the biggest things this season especially coming into the first game so the more white hats you can get to the football greater your defense will be absolutely looks like the eagles are going to have four man down three linebackers and a tight set for red bud they send a man in motion it's going to be a reverse pivot handoff to the right side where it's going to be number 35 for redbud he's a big old boy and he's going to be hard to tackle as we can see after that first play number 35 frank ford coming in at six foot 240.
press longer with the tackle press along to a corner freestyling freshman in high school he's doing good and he's already on varsity just started just started he's already he's already off to a hot start and last year his eighth grade year he did not play for islam meadows team he played for a springfield team took it all the way to the championship and won it elects to keep it running it down the middle gonna be brought down at about the 36 there yep they'll call it the 36 another six yard gain second and four for amherst gabe played for varsity on the second half of the year last year as a tackle moving up and starting this year on this four defensive line front hand off tries to go down the middle middle group of tacklers brought down it looks like they're saying on the closer side of the 39 but at the 40 they're gonna give them the first yeah that that interesting because with where the ball spotted that would be a third inches and for all those people out there that play madden that would be a third in inches but you know doubt there's anybody that plays madden out there that's watching but hey no disrespect i'm one of them okay false start number 14 for amherst you can see that from a mile away i'll start offense number 14.
yeah it's a big band has redbud always run i formation because when i played in my senior year they were running spread but i guess i guess they're running a different offense this year i could i could see that whenever you got number 74 mason farrell coming in at 69 285 i think i'd keep it tight as well yeah so we're gonna go two tight ends one man split out one running back we're gonna have to another guy split out up top as well gonna be another run player to the left side this time he's gonna try to cut back and he's not gonna get anywhere maybe a gain of one and gonna be brought down by a bunch of eagles looks like number 75 led the way by dawson looks like we're playing a cover two with uh what is that three linebackers in the middle with four men down so they're going to be heavy on the run defense is definitely going to be ready for the run and uh red bud is always usually ready to run also so got to look out for the run but third down seven here look for a pass gonna be a different formation here looks like we're gonna have a tight end left two guys out split out left one running back one guy up to the far side of the field as well it is gonna be a pass played in from number six and it's gonna be picked by london little and i don't see anybody in front of london little he might get to the end zone zone he does diving into the end zone goes london for another touchdown who's going to signal it they gave it to him yep never saw a signal by either official but that's in for a touchdown he is on pace to have a huge year already absolutely he intercepted that about the 40-yard line i think and uh returns it in for another touchdown we haven't even seen the eagles up our offense on the field and we're up 13-0 with another extra point coming good start special teams good start defense now we've got to see the offense see what they can do whenever we get a chance out there on the field believe it's kyle jackson doing the long snap in this year as well as the center for the p-80 good snap good hold kick is up and it is good so that puts the eagles up 14-0 with 10 minutes and 10 seconds remaining in the in the first quarter you can't ask for a better start you really can't no we cannot so now jared big question for you what are your keys to the game today my keys to the game uh so since we haven't um been playing a lot we only got what two weeks to get ready for this this season um conditioning is best definitely going to be one of the biggest things this season because uh you got to come into this game ready to go because you're running a lot and you haven't been in the football mood mindset lately um secondly you got to keep it clean no more penalties can't have any penalties that can that can hurt your team and everybody knows that can definitely hurt your team and um third one is just get after it i mean you only got six six games to play this season so come out on the field ready to play bring the juice as coach germaine said i think that's a that might be a good saying fees and bring the juice bring the juice adam weber back again gonna send it deep this one's a much better kick and it is going to land in the end zone 4 touchback which is what we were used to seeing last year out of him and sam will mark and they're picking up where they left off so redbud will start with the ball at the 20-yard line try it again went on they were after the 40-yard interception only gained two yards of offense that first drive looks like we got owen brewer at six one two fifteen i think that is suck up and mason kohlenberger at 6'4 265 with their hand in the grass gonna be another i formation for red bite here going to be a reverse pivot and it's going to be a hand off to the fullback and it's sniffed out right away by colin berlinberger leave and it's going to be a gain of nothing once again yeah there's some big big guys up there for columbia that's going to that's going to make a huge difference for the defense this season you got kohlenberger sue cup and it looks like poultry out there so those are three pretty big guys that can rough it up up in the middle we will be talking a lot about the front seven you've if you will with columbia this year but as your defensive backs you got london little dominic vaguely it looks like andrew malding and zach wetzel up top i can't i thought it looked like number one it might be two training two train yeah be your defensive backs red bud sends a man in motion they're gonna hand it off to the left side he's gonna cut back going to gain maybe a yard and then swarm tackling as coach germain wanted getting the play for about a game of one and as we as we talked about earlier we said red button is going to come in there you're usually a run run first team and as you can tell first couple plays here they're not gaining much on the run and their first pass they through went for six the other way so defense doing a pretty good job here of leaving red butt out of options third down in nine eight fifty clock is running um you look at the eagles in their blue uniforms with the white pants white hats red bud white jerseys maroon pants maroon helmets they're gonna be in shotgun for the first time tonight doubles to the right side two running backs in the backfield with the quarterback shotgun pass it's going to be a roll out to the right side he's going to throw it deep once again and there's going to be nobody home maybe a little miscommunication that's the eagles first three and out of the season class intended for caleb berger falls incomplete brings up looks like london little's gonna go back and get ready for this punt return as i would i would want to kick it away from him honestly honestly the first touches he has he's been to the house so i would if i was redbud i'd kick it away from 28.
five yards back we're gonna have a first and fifteen this is where they gotta hold them absolutely they get this first down they're gonna be in enemy territory did they get rid of the rule because i heard there was a a rule at the beginning that required you to wear a mask ninety twenty four i almost said ninety four seven twenty four seven run down the middle gonna be stopped about a two-yard gain but as i was saying there was a i did hear a rumor about one of the rules being you were required to wear a mask 24 7 while playing football fun i don't know how you do that with a helmet on trying to reach in 46 they probably got rid of the rule because you are wearing a mouth guard too so yep they probably decided to elect college rolling which is wear a mask on the sidelines once you're off you can we're on the sidelines once you're on the field you can take it off yep first down hand off going on the middle again going down the middle and stopped again about a two yard gain again it's gonna be third and eleven uh third and twelve actually so big opportunity here v songwriter can stop this try and take a two possession lead islamic offense gonna be very tough to try and read it no film to watch about this offense since there hasn't been any games with this offense islamido did also have a little bit of experience they did a scrimmage with themselves against themselves last week fakes a handoff gonna go with the pass they got him pressure throw incomplete but it will not matter it'll be a fourth and twelve that was great pressure absolutely looks like we see a lot of similar players out there for amherst if they have the same people that are on the special teams unit then it will be a punt but there's been there's been crazier fakes than that [Music] we have monjone back at his 30 snap punt high up in the air going to about the 45 rolling back rolling rolling no one's touching it and it'll be stopped at about the 35 so first and ten on isla moto 35 east along meadow to get the ball with 5 15 left in the first quarter i gotta keep doing what they did before they'll be fine absolutely play action really working to their advantage as they're gonna it looks like a timeout might have been called or there's going to be a break called by the refs so we will get some time to talk about the upcoming season for islamic football five weeks back to back to back from what i know maybe more depending on miaa acceptance but five nonetheless this is one of the five for those rest of those games there will be other commentators who takes what game i am unclear about but this will be the less you hear of me from the varsity level i will try to join the jv and you will hear my some people might say lovely some people might say horrendous voice for those jv games with that being said i'm to look to luke and i'm going to say to you luke how'd you do in hockey because i couldn't watch the games how did you do personally or as a team you already told me i was a team which was you had your bumps and you had your opponents downs but you gave me basically like i'm a reporter and you're at a press conference type answer and i'm your friend i feel kind of offended but i could have done better i'll just say that what do you say could have done better like a little bit of everything you know so you sit back so did you do better last year no okay so then so then he did better so it's improvement all right that's all i need to know they give you they they keep you with that line chemistry of you throwback yeah yeah good that's the chemistry you need yep oh i and this is for people at home that have a kid or just watching i don't know if you heard about this uh they're saying massachusetts is expected to have 16 ages of 16 and older starting may 1st to get the vaccine oh yeah i already think at this thing like i'm going to get it will you even be 16 i'm sorry but are we leaving you six when i'm 16.
a lot of games like this you kind of pick somebody who you don't want to beat you i would say london would be that case right now and like you said you just don't kick to them it's a pretty simple game whenever you do that 10 seconds left play clock london's about 30 yards deep punt gets off they're going to punt it to the right side london will catch it and he is going to run with it from the 50. he's got the left side he's going to cut back to the midfield and look at this look at london go london going from left side to right side got got one to beat and he just gets tripped up at the five yard line but still an electric play setting up the eagles offense on the five yard line three touches almost three touchdowns how how about that all on different plays too that kid's unreal brings it down to the four yard line there's a nine yard line so this makes it easy for coach horner you're starting at the five yard line and you know who are you going to go with here you got a pretty big offensive line got the exciting london little and back in the day when you had a big line like like we do we would go heavy here and it looks like that's what we're going to come out in a little heavy set with a single receiver to the left side single receiver looks to be andrew maulding going to be unbalanced to the right side for the eagles number 11 meganson in their right in the backfield nope i'm sorry that's mcconaughey and he's going to get in for the touchdown number 21.
okay there you go because because they're trying to force us to go they're trying to see if we can get everyone back into schools before the end of the year yeah i don't agree with that but that's that's personal opinion [Music] first and ten sticking with the three linemen front for amherst's defense three wide receivers motion handoff down the middle gonna get about two yards second and eight three song meadow play action's been working when they go to that passage [Music] one safety backs would be a time to really implement the implement that pass yep worked good last time absolutely got touchdown off of from to johnny ferentino snap hand off a kian going to go to the outside bounces to the outside gonna be stopped at the line of scrimmage lucky to not get a tackle for loss third and eight for you song meadow now is not the time to slow down they've gotten them they've gotten the pressure they've gotten the momentum it could be shut down right here with a stop by amherst i gotta get this first down looks like amherst will be in a zone with three men back if this is a man i would you someone would be smart to run the curl they're gonna go full pass conor gets pressure and he's taken down [Music] conor obadou sacked that was a big hit behind ten yards so it'll be a fourth and twelve and no offense to conor robert deal great kid and all but i'm shocked he wasn't injured because he is a small kid and that was a big alignment that just completely demolished him oh yeah that was absolutely twice the size absolutely oh twice i might i might say more no offense to connor he is average height so you know i can't make fun of him being short anymore cj closer close you to punt better not have a arrow high snaps are questionable get up there he's gonna get a far they're gonna wave it fumbled who holds it multiple people in the air they're fighting for who has it that was a close one they will give it to amherst number 15 cj g amherst will take over first half and 10 of their own 38.
not number 11. number 21 kyle mcconaughey on the right side for an eagles touchdown puts the eagles up 20 to nothing with 8 10 remaining in the first quarter i didn't even notice our eagle head in the middle when did we get that put in they got that put in about two or three weeks ago rebranding going on here in columbia we'll show you on the kickoff when we get to that high snap but brought down by colin mccarron mclaren and it is no good push to the left side and i think that was all off from the start when the snap went to the high right side of the talon snap's the most important thing as jared mentioned we have the new eagle head rebranding this year going on for columbia and you look at it there that was drawn just for columbia there's no eagle like that anywhere else and uh had that put in couple weeks ago would you look at that have some new fonts going on as well for the uh for the whole district so pretty soon all you're going to see is that eagle the new font you won't see one eagle for baseball one eagle for football one eagle for basketball and so on it's just all going to be one uniform look for columbia school district so columbia leads now 20 to nothing eight minutes nine seconds remaining in the first quarter yeah not even four minutes off the board yet and we're up three scores good start for the eagles river meyer approaches the kick and sends it deep on another beautiful kick that's gonna make its way about three yards deep into the end zone for another touchback so three kickoffs two touch backs i like how that scene sounds and starts that's a huge play in a close game whenever there's having a good kicker to get a touch back like that that is a that's a huge huge positive because if you get um a lot of these teams have a lot of athletes that they put back there and they get a lot of room to work and if they get a little open field they're gone so it's nice to put that uh put the ball in the end zone and just give them the ball in the 20.
bit of a fumble cold weather definitely going to be the excuse or the real factor than that one but he was able to recover and give amherst the ball to possibly tie the game up breezy chilly friday afternoon perfect for football weather whatever you say gage anyway any weather is perfect for football weather welcome to football snap [Music] happens run up the middle he's got running room good enough for the first half of moore down at the 45 of amherst territory happy they opened that gap too happy yes they did makes you wonder if this if this team is used to more of a run heavy offense down the middle attack on the plate by 21 johnny ferentino with the tackle [Music] you know looking at the silence it's really weird with this whole cone six feet apart thing was that i wasn't at the game were you guys allowed to sit on the same punch yeah a run down the middle for five yards we were fine second of five oh that's right but you were yeah that's right you were massing the entire time yeah yeah okay that's different i can't see them obviously because their helmets are the back of their helmets are to me but second down and six can't tell ah there you go there's around delaney he doesn't look like he's wearing a mask there you go so maybe they're not wearing masks maybe that was a ruling second and five sorry second and six actually on the 50 to running back front run from the middle down the middle and be stopped at about the line but pushed slightly forward for about a yard and now into esong meadow territory two minutes remaining in the first quarter third and five third down in five tackle was huh oh um nick ferguson and tara mctagger with the tackle run try to go to the middle bounces to the outside unable to go anywhere might be tackled forward for a yard but it will not matter not close enough to the first down will be a third and four maybe or sorry fourth and four maybe fourth and five i gotta focus on the run that's all they're doing right now absolutely but you gotta be careful we saw what amherst did on the first drive focused on the run kind of got a nice little throw right to johnny ferentino enough for the touchdown it looks like they're gonna go for it and it will be stopped turn over on down to east long meadow gonna have great field positioning first antenna metal [Music] gonna have it on the 50.
so redbud's going to come out they're going to stay in their eye formation with a tight end to the left fullback about a yard behind the quarterback it's going to be a handoff to the fullback he's going to get to the right side and he's going to gain about eight yards looks to be number 44 for redbud that's devon hall listed as 62 220 so that's a pretty pretty big guy running the ball there so you got to have hats to the football and make make make plays gonna bring up a second down and two for the redbud musketeers going to be a shotgun pushing this this time looks like the officials are going to be giving it to him for a first down red bud easton luck was a quarterback there on the run and he got enough for the first first down eastern luck played last year as a backup quarterback and uh didn't get too too much time in but was able to get in as quarterback had 104 yards rushing last year so he's got the ability on seven rushes he's got the ability to break one loose going to be tight end right i formation columbia's got four men down as lineman going to be hand off up the middle once again to the big fullback gets met at the line of scrimmage still gains four yards three yards after contact a lot of physical play going on out there up front those big linemen are going at it and they're just running the ball right down the middle and they're forced forcing me to step up and make tackles as a team garrett poulter in for the eagles on the tackle there like i said earlier you look at six nine 285 as your left tackle you like that out of a out of a run first offense going to be a tight end same formation once again going to be gonna be a pallade's going to be a roll out quarterback's going to get it out to their big fullback number 44.
so re in enemy territory dude and with 53 seconds left in the first quarter is going to look to possibly punch another one in you know with this whole not we're having to wear not being forced to wear a mess fake the pass finish my statement pass incomplete almost intercepted but he saw metal will get a second chance second and ten on the 50. but as i was saying with this whole not being forced to wear a mask i thought i lost my mask and i was joking with luke before the game said i think my last fell through the bleachers turns out i'm wearing it just not fully and now i'm embarrassed for myself you know you get used to wearing a mask and you just forget about it there's gonna be whenever masks are all gone and whatnot it's gonna be a time when people are making weird faces because they're used to not showing face expressions conor with the pass wide open low pass to johnny ferentino not going to be caught third and 10 now looks like east long meadow's offense starting to stall here i can't let up if i were them i would run it drain some of that clock time from here it looks like a four wide receiver set with one running back in the back which would be none other than isaiah king [Music] timeout amherst so they're gonna figure out what they should do with this situation is going to rethink their situations if they just stick with it maybe a little bit of concern for connor and maybe a little bit of nerves to build up once again 43 seconds remaining in the first we'll be right back i thought about it okay is um 43 seconds remaining seven to nothing once again east i'm gonna with the lead issa meadow has ball gonna go for the pass that's high one hand grab they call it they're gonna rule it complete first down for easter so negomon jones with the one hand grab good enough for the first down in amherst territory first and ten on the 37-yard line they keep going wide they'll be fine absolutely look right now with a little bit of confusion now might be the time to go down the middle hi snap gonna run it isaiah king down the middle so about the 34.
he's going to be brought down by london little who like you said nice tackle when you're out match that much better go low low i learned that myself a couple times it's not good to go high on those big guys it will not feel good you're not gonna win third down and five this time for the redbud musketeers who have one first down tonight these teams are set up set up at huddle they kill me i want to go split out doubles to the right side two running backs for redbud this time shotgun snap london is on the blitz he's chasing the quarterback down who gets rid of it in time but it is going to be out of bounds intended for number 12 parker vandoorne but was unable to complete the pass so we have fourth down and five another three and out forced by the eagles red butt on their own 35 yard line five minutes 26 seconds remaining in the first quarter that was a good pursuit there by london little he didn't have any wide receiver out here matched up on him at a corner so he just saw that there was no one there so i guess coach germain said go ahead and blitz that's what he did and he almost got the sack there but quarterback was lucky enough to throw the ball away and come up with a fourth down london going back deep once again he's about 30 yards about 32 yards deep gonna be a delay a game i was wondering if they're going to call it it took him a couple seconds to actually throw the flag there but delay game is going to move redbud back and that's where we said keep it clean columbia's kept it clean that's our first penalty of the game now brings about a fourth and ten for red butt as they look to punt this one away last year i believe it was that they switched the play clocks to 40 seconds after the play and then after a penalty gonna be 25 seconds so they will get the pun off going to be a short one and it will go out of bounds where the eagles will take over from their 43-yard line we are going to send it to a break real quick you can look at our sponsors and we will be right back with the eagles at the 43 yard line welcome back to columbia high school at the multi-purpose field where the eagles lead the redbud musketeers 20 to nothing with five minutes and 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter columbia offense is going to be led by clown clarin doubles to the right side running back to the right going to be a quick pass to london london's got a blocker in front of him he's got a first down and he's going to get a couple extra yards just a quick easy route for london to run on the ball and that's a play we've seen over the past 10 15 years that coach horner's been running just that little bubble route to the right side just get your athletes out in space and they'll make plays you've seen that with jordan holmes you've seen it with sam horner you've seen it with all the way back to brandon pryor and alex quinn you've seen you've seen those guys run these same routes that these guys are running today and it looks to be still working for coach horner and columbia doubles to the right side sniffer back right running back right first and ten for the eagles good snap going to be a hand off to mcconaughey who's gonna be hit a yard deep tries to spin out of it but couldn't get anywhere not what you want to see whenever you got three linemen in your backfield with you looked like big 74.
that'll be about a four yard gains second and six maybe second and seven time running down seven seconds down to five looks like they won't call anything so that'll be the end of the first quarter once again seven nothing east long meadow up with the ball chance to make it double digits we'll be back for the start of the second quarter and we are back throw caught be a game of about two yes complete the number 10 preston longo third and about five third down in five wind could be a factor in cj calogy possibly taking a field goal if they're stopped here rabbit jacob rabbit to take the snap press along go blown up that's taking a wide every time that's all they got to do their amherst is not doing anything they're going to call the field goal team at the 35 that'll be a 52 yard it'll be a 52 yard or wait no sorry hold up math yeah 52-yard field goal i always forget if it's 7 yards from the ball i look i know it's 10 after the all right i'm trying man i had math last semester it's a 52 yarder make it a two possession game snap kick looks like it's gonna be short and it is it's about two yards a yard to two yards into the end zone short by about first down into we'll say 10 because of the height so amherst better territory than they started with better territory than their previous attempts first and ten on their 35.
mason farrell was in on that tackling he is a big guy if you look at him out there on the field he's got probably a head taller than each of our linemen and probably 15 20 more pounds in each of them to also so that's that definitely makes a huge difference on the offensive and defensive line it's left for the eagles this time running back right ball on the right hash gonna be london in the slot up to the top gonna be a pass play mclaren goes right up to the middle with two train just a quick now route once again again good for seven yards and brings up a manageable third and five complete mclaren with a good pass there over the middle he's been over the past couple years he's got gained more arm strength i've seen um early on in his career he wasn't able to really throw the ball down the field but he's worked on it his past couple years and it's definitely gotten a lot better doubles for the eagles looks like redbud's gonna have six in the box mclaren tries for the hard count get a little bit of a twitch out of redbuds line but doesn't get him the jump running back to the right side for mclaren it's gonna be a pass looking left it's just a quick hit trout and it's gonna be caught what a great route right there by andrew malding number 20 just to know where the sticks are and run seven yard route and get that extra yardage for the first down yeah that's really important there on third down to get the ball out of your hands also as mclaren kind of have a sometimes these quarterbacks and receivers have a little uh what is it a little sign that says hey i'm gonna be open on this play but there he he shut it down on the hitch right at the sticks and got the first down our first look at dominic vaguely as he comes in he's going to be running it to the right side he's going to step up the middle great blocking in front of him got a wall making the moves going up the middle carrying the pile that's going to be good for about a 20-yard gain first touch for dominic vaguely the sophomore coming in and doing what he does best making some plays as well yeah and that that could be a really difficult tandem to be on the defensive side when you got a running quarterback like vaguely and then mclaren who can sling it around a little bit and even vaguely can sling it around also so but it looks like there was a flag on that play and their eagles are walking backwards now we gotta try to figure out where we're gonna come back from they're coming back far on columbia i'm gonna say there was probably a holding penalty it's gonna be a loss of ten bring up a first down and twenty dominic vaguely still out on the field we're going to have trips to the right sniffer back right nobody up top to the dominate gonna be a quick pass to london little and he's going to be met right away coach horner's not happy with that somebody missed an assignment on that play i think yeah they were doing that same play they ran earlier with london little just getting them out in open space trying to gain some yards back after losing 10 of them on that holding play but redbud looked like their cornerback was out here and he just sat and sat in the flat and waited for london to get catch the ball and he met him right there right when he caught it two receivers going to the top two train and maulding we're gonna have little and wibbermeyer down to the bottom mcconaughey in the backfield vaguely as the quarterback takes the snap rolls out to the right throws it back to the left side penalty flag is thrown so we'll have to see what happens in mcconaughey running over a defender gonna be a flag on the play though that was thrown pretty quick as soon as the play was called most likely going to be a holding call when you see it that early on oh face mask on the defense i don't know i was early too yeah that was early early penalty call right whenever he snapped above the ball now they're saying it's a face mask on the defense how do you think it could be a illegal hands of the fake deal i don't know i mean it could be one of each as always ladies and gentlemen we encourage you to comment on the stream we'll keep everybody posted and zach daley saying let's go eagles zach daley i'm sorry bud but ohio state went down today oral roberts game yeah you won't be hearing much happy words from zach next couple days but no you will not the eagles get this win maybe we'll hear some happy words out of zach daley tripp's right mclaren back into the field into the game london little in motion it's going to be a jet sweep to the right he's going to have to make a play he makes one man miss he makes another man miss and it's quarterback right there down by the third guy to make it a third and 11.
if any guests do need the rest wait oh sorry let me correct myself one of the rulings last year was if a field goal was missed where the ball was spotted was where offense would take it with it being a touchback it goes to the 20. rule that they told me about last year i didn't agree with it in one bit but it was a rule they also forgot to follow it half the time there was a time where we missed a field goal we went it went to the right of it they like it went to the right but it was in the air yeah and they just spotted it where the ball was first unless that was like another exception to the rule that they never told us about i remember doing practices and they put me on the special teams unit and me almost getting to cj like five times i was pretty happy i made my day run gonna go wide gonna be blown up behind the line of scrimmage about a two three yard loss second and thirteen jack calcideci going in as i could hear from yelling second down in 12.
and absolutely the quarterback's favorite pass just toss it in the air about a yard i wonder how many yards nick horner and greg long gained over the past year or four or five years just tossing it up to your athletes tell them all right here's the ball go run go for it so that brings up third and 11 for columbia from the redbud 34. one minute 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter coming into the game now number three bryce hildebrand going to be the slot receiver to the trip's left side for mclaren running back to the left side he's going to roll left got a good seal on the edge he's going to throw it to adam willmeyer is going to catch it and be brought down instantly after a gain of six you go forward forward here i don't know whib's got a pretty good leg i think he can make the field goal at the 24.
