so correction it was the loss of 12 second and 12 now on amherst's 18. that is amazing gotta say those signs are really like like those are impressive his wife is probably questioning where the part of the fence went quick to get up the line gonna take himself down the middle gonna get it to the qb again 25 i don't think so i think what they're doing is they're actually taking it they're doing a direct snap to the running back which in a three this is something that you that i can teach you is a three front where you have the quarterback where he would be or let's say that's the running back in that case someone to the left or right of them like directly and then someone behind him any one of those three can take the direct snap it's like a pocket and the pocket's pretty wide that's why like a quarterback needs to like scramble pass i'm pretty sure the guard in order to throw it away for it not to be an intentional grounding or an intentional delay game whatever rules ref would like to call it because they used two different terms back and forth so third and five for amherst clock is rolling 9 10 remaining in the second it'll continue to count once again four alignment fronts looks like they're gonna send a fifth they do they fake the handoff gonna go to the outside miss one flag they're gonna be brought tackle would be good it was first down but there's a flag holding looks to be the call dependent on where they take it holding on the offense five yards from the spot aka the there's a hold on the play it'll be a third and nine thirds oh wait sorry ten yards wow i'm i'm really good here tonight it's been a long time third and 14 at their 15.
looks like they're going to go for it looks like vaguely is coming out on the field now at quarterback replacing mclaren for this fourth fourth five fourth and five from the eagles gonna be a handoff it's gonna be kept by dom gonna be a gain of nothing and it's gonna be a turnover on downs one of those tough plays there you're reading that defensive end do you care do you pull it off i didn't see what the defense did but that one guy might have went with her running back somebody stepped up into the hole and it could have been a good defensive play there by red bud props to our ball boy matt out there been doing it for however long i might have to ask him this week how you calling been doing it so redbud will take over from their own 29 yard line 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter single running back gonna be a handoff to the left side to big number 35 who's going to get back to the line of scrimmage but brought down by the first columbia eagle defender there frank look like traitor looks like number 22 oliver schrader you're right brought down by number 22 oliver that's always big that's always a big thing too when you're playing linebacker or defensive end whenever there's an outside run to force everything back inside to have your uh other defenders be able to come and make a play that's always been a thing that connect coaching has expressed forcing everything back inside so that's what um schrader did there and it did a really good job at it so with six seconds remaining in the first quarter redbud will let it run to the end of the quarter columbia after a quick kickoff return an interception and then one other touchdown takes the lead after the first quarter 20 to nothing we will be back with you after a short break welcome back ladies and gentlemen to week one of the ihsa football season where the columbia eagles are currently leading the redbud musketeers 20 to nothing uh jared we didn't really talk last year about last year's season coming off a 10-1 season 9-0 regular season uh we won the week 10 matchup against roxanna then we went up to fairbury prairie central and a close game last year ended up coming here just short 28 22 driving late in the game and uh i think it's going to be good with a lot of these guys some of them got to see some playing time last year i think that's going to be good you know seniors coming out and getting some of that experience yeah it's going to be a lot of spots to fill i mean we had ryan hornbustel who was leader in sax we had ronnie hunsaker who every time he touched the ball it was going to be something good uh kate napier will denny sam horner eli wagner nick horner the list goes on that was a good group that got that far and to see to see leave this uh leave this team but that just means next man up mentality and you got to step in and be ready to play red bud's going to be in shotgun doubles to the right side ball on the left hash running back left gonna be a snap to the quarterback who's throwing from his back foot and it's going to be picked by number 12 dominic vaguely he's got the right sideline he's got a couple yards he's got one man to beat and dominick vagley's going to get in for another eagles touchdown about a 35-yard return for dom there and that's another defensive touchdown for columbia you don't see it very often a quarterback getting a pick six no you don't i don't know if nick ever got a pic nick horner he he played a little safety he did greg played a little safe did you ever play any safety back there no why not i ran about a six four forty i was not playing safety oh alex so that puts the eagles up 26 nothing 11 50 to go in the first half going to be jackson with the snap mclaren with the hold adam weber once again with the kick last snap was high right this snap right down the middle kick would have been good we are going to have a false start on the eagles though looks like colin sagan is the one holding out there 14.
what's the last time they painted this turf because i'm sorry but some of these numbers are fading and i know who paints these things so i could make fun i could yell at him oh fumble so that's going to really screw it up big hit he just got and he looks all slow to get up he definitely is he'll get up though you can't say that number five john the senior with a nice hit it's a fourth and 16 on amherst's 12 that they're going to punt apparently we can just show up to these games a lot of people are just trying hey they're probably not checking the entrance anymore probably not it's okay i drove here and you couldn't punt our kick high going out about out of bounds it's unclear where they'll spot it depends on where they believe it was they might call it the 50 they're talking they're going to say the 49er of the song widow territory first and 10 east long meadow on their 49 going the opposite way going to the left to be exact as you guys should be able to see from our camera once again i am gage of del mac to the left of me i have no other than lou kane's and behind the camera i have jamie 7 45 remaining in the second seven nothing you saw metal with the score missed field goal keeps the score seven nothing from the previous drive of your song meadow run gonna be stuffed about four yards short of the line of scrimmage tackle for loss second and fourteen i believe that quarterback is none other than shane becker the freshman got the got to see him with the jv basketball team very nice kid good throw great catch gonna be short of the first down by about a yard maybe two it's a third and very short pass i believe was to nico mon joan and a great catch by shane becker to preston logo third down and one sorry let me correct that to preston longo so third and one hi snap nice now run isaiah tries to go straight up the middle unable to gonna take it a little bit to the outside good enough for the first down down at amherst 40.
colin saigon you're right colin and colin right on top of each other that's probably why yeah it's going to be a fall start on the eagles on the pat moving back five and they'll re-attempt this p-a-t so for the people that used to listen to us when we were at the quarterback club and we were just the audio we always talked about the pull that's in the middle that's always in the way as we get ready for another attempt at the p-80 here hopefully for another good snap high snap once again but it gets brought down and it is good so brings a high snap down and gets the kick off and we're good to go yeah like you were saying yeah like you were saying whenever this this we got this big thing here in the middle where i'm standing on the right side alex is on the left so i gotta i can see the whole left side of the field but i cannot see the right so i'm gonna be reporting i guess a little on the left side of the field and alex will do the right side well now we got this monitor behind us yeah that's also a little helpful you know i always wondered how the pros did but i'm being up so high i feel a little bit more professional this year jared yeah i guess they do have monitors up there in the nfl then do they they do yeah so like i said though when we'd go to i think probably got flat screen tvs honestly up there i feel like redbud was always real tough whenever we're up there because it's just nothing but one big opening and then once you get in the corner there's no windows to the sides can't see what's going on patty willis game doing a great job jared and alex thank you for listening and watching patty lily and patty coming in it's my grandma oh grandma paddy coming yeah thanks grandma for the support love it eagles now leading 27 nothing in the second quarter webermeyer sends it gonna be a high kickoff and it's gonna be caught at the five yard line where we're red bring it up to the left side and you're gonna try to cut it back to the middle but will be brought down by three eagles number 52 and number 33 number 52 garrett poultre and number 33 brennan weak number 55 bryce hammond bryce hammond i can't read the numbers 55 bryce hammond so redbud will take over from their own 24-yard line i have had a couple tests too don't come across but we've got listeners all over the place we got them out in south carolina currently all over in town so we appreciate everybody listening and coming in and watching the eagles football love the support red bud comes out center same formation with one tight end i formation gonna be a handoff to the right side number 35 i believe it is running hard bouncing off bodies gonna be a gain of about three it is number 35 for red bud frank ford that's six foot 240 pounder by number 88 you got a couple guys back there that are when they get the ball they're just putting their head down and running because they're bigger guys so they're not going to do much of the london little stuff the dancing and the spinning but um they're going to bring the juice yeah they are definitely second down in six after the four yard gain 11 minutes to go in the second quarter columbia leads 27 nothing redbuds single back they're going to hand it to the left side he's going to get about two yards on the play look like a little confusion there quarterback thought he's going to stay a little bit tighter than what he did on the carry by number 54 couple eagles there on the tackle too there's about four or five of them adam jackson or not adam jackson listen to me that's an old eagle kyle jackson uh got maulding in there but that's something coach tremaine talked about um hats to the football that's always been something he's expressed so seeing that is always a great thing thing for the mints one thing here too you hit run run run all the time defensive backs got to stay in the game brings up a third and four we'll call it watch the football look out for a hard count here out of red bud it's gonna be a slow developing play gonna be hand off to the right side with a lead blocker he's gonna get about two yards there's almost a full starter look like that was a very slow play looked like number 74 mason farrell was a pulling lineman and just missed the block if he would have made the block that would he had some space he had some space to run too he probably could have got to about 50 or on columbia's side fourth down and two for the eagle or for the musketeers rather once again watch the football that play though like you said it seemed like the linemen were taking off it was like slow quarterback was still under center looks like come out and never mind they're go it looked like they were lining up at uh like they were going for it but it looks like they're gonna punt away as london runs back oh look they are going to keep it they're going to run to the left side he's going to get the first down and he's still going as the punter kept the ball on the left side looks like maybe redbud's fighting for a late hit after he ran out of bounds after he gained about 10 yards and that's going to be another first down for red bud it's one of those things you got to make something happen you're down 27 nothing you got nothing to lose yeah so i don't awareness play by the punter yeah i like the play call they call like we said easton was a uh backup last year and he was able to get on on seven he's 104 yards so he's got that ability he's pretty good average he's pretty quick right there he's been throwing a lot off his back foot and scrambling a lot but whenever he's running pretty good runner so it brings up first down and 10-4 redbud ball on their own 44-yard line columbia still got three men down look like we're going to bring two linebackers from this left side and we do it's going to be hand off to the left and almost brought down in the backfield and it's going to be a fumble on the play everybody's fighting for it it looked like an eagle could have taken the hand off there they were in the backfield absolutely look like redbuds gonna keep it nope nope columbia recovers their first turnover of the year okay at the end columbia takes over so columbia will start with great field position at the 45 yard line three three turnovers already for the eagles three takeaways yeah two picks and a fumble recovery can't ask for a better start with a zero on the board still that shutout still going so coach tremaine should be happy with his d the way his defense is playing in the season opener last year the eagles scored 43 points a game and gave up eight that's all season that's pretty tough on the offense takes the field trips right running back right gonna be a deep ball to the left side it's gonna float up in the air a little bit it's gonna be dropped by london little there's a lot of air under that ball i don't know if you threw it into the wind flag's not moving but that ball just looked like it floated there i guess they wanted to take a shot right off the bat to london little biggest playmaker on the on the field brings up second and ten mclaren in the game wibbelmeyer comes off yeah when you look at the personnel you got some speedy guys out there for columbia too you got london you got uh vaguely even mcconaughey's a quick one too gonna be a handoff to the left side too mcconaughey he's gonna make one man miss on a nice juke move he's gonna make two guys miss he's got the left sideline he's gone got london with him he's got himself a columbia eagles touchdown kyle mcconaughey two nice hesitations there on the linebacker and then later on the safety looks like there is a flag on the play though holding on the offense block in the back or is it a block in the back [Music] push him back now the aggravating thing on that kind of play it happened at the 32 yard line yeah it's not even in the play anymore so they will nullify the touchdown and bring it back gonna be a 10-yard penalty i didn't really see what happened really be a 10-yard penalty to bring up a second down in one 850 remaining in the second quarter columbia up 27-0 colin mclaren as your quarterback number 88 jay mistler comes in as your sniffer back to the left side running back to the left side ball in the left hash freeberg's got six guys in the box gonna be another quick handoff to number 21 kyle mcconaughey who's got the right side he's got to make one man miss and he doesn't make a mess gets brought down but not after a 20-yard game picks up 15-20 yards first down eagles tackle by number first down columbia to the 16 yard line and it looks to be a shaken up red bud musketeer can't see a number i don't know if it's cramps he's just sitting on his butt right now so coach runs out there check on him looks like trainer james sepage is going to go out there and check on on him as well so we will send it to a break we will be back columbia leads this game 27 nothing with eight minutes and 38 seconds remaining in the second quarter um welcome back second quarter action columbia after the big run by kyle mcconaughey for about 20 yards gets it down to the 16-yard line where they're looking for another touchdown to go up by 30.
enemy territory for east longmeadow chance for them to make it a double-digit lead shane becker trying he's doing a good job keeping his legs moving absolutely i remember we made fun of him i don't know for some of you that might have seen it when like couple years ago when jaya jai for the miami dolphins ran it and then like shane becker going to take up the middle and it stopped it looks like the line of scrimmage maybe about a yard back so second to ten second on 11 they're gonna call it atlantis formation second attempt but as i was saying jay jai there was a clip of him running and having like a 20 yard lead and then blowing it due to energy we all made a joke calling him that because there was games where he had a 30 yard lead and then blew it in within the 10.
it's going to be a botched handoff it's going to be picked up by mclaren who's going to try to make something happen still on his feet still spinning around and finally going to be thrown to the ground by number 74. make something out of nothing i guess turned a loss of two into a gain of about three or four so that's pretty nice there for colin mclaren to you don't see him running very much but when he does he'll put his shoulder down he'll hit you a little bit so be ready look out for that this season schroeder and mistler come off two train and mauldin come on ball on the right hash trips left running back left mulding up by himself up top going to be a pass to the left going to be caught by webemeier he's going to be hit right away going to be a miss block by 2 train number 8 before redbud there just wrapped up right away and didn't let anything happen after that thomas freeze with the tackle and that's something that's big that coach horner always expresses big too whenever you're throwing those little uh now routes and bubble routes that receiver's out there by himself so you got to be good at stock blocking you got to go out to your corner and shuffle down your feet pitter patter them and break down and be ready to make a block for your receiver that's coming behind you sniffer back to the right side doubles to the left running back left gonna be a fake hand off bootleg to the right mclaren's got a man in his face he's got to make a miss he does make a miss now he's got to scramble and make something happen he's going to get rid of it throw it to the back of the end zone it's going to be caught for a columbia eagle touchdown looks like number 20 andrew maulding in the back of the end zone nice play there by mclaren to keep the play alive got a two defensive lineman were in the backfield there as mclaren rolled out to his right he had two or three receivers just with their hands straight up in the air waiting for the ball in the end zone and mclaren threw it to mauldin as he had he had london open and he also had wivenmeier open in the back corner but good pass there to score another eagles touchdown that puts the eagles up 33-0 6 minutes 40 seconds remaining in the first quarter high snap again but it's brought down and it's kicked and it is good however a flag was thrown at the top of the field what are they going to call offsides on the defense penalty will be declined so that puts the eagles up let's be four or nothing yeah well there's my prediction i got the 34 and the cheerleaders starting on their 34 push-ups they've been doing that for a long time haven't they we got to try to figure out how we can do the math on this and how many push-ups they've already done in the first half do some quick math here for you folks looking around the around the stadium here we see a couple previous players you see eli wagner's walking up the middle aisle now saw ryan hornbassel earlier i got some text from sam horner and nick horner saying give me a shout out so shout out to all the guys that were here a year ago and out here playing on this field pass the torch to these younger guys that can make it happen in this new season that is one cool thing you get a bunch of guys we're both former players and uh you always get a bunch of guys coming back to the games you already see them lined up along the fence coming up giving us some trouble while we're up here they're out at the game or on the field after the game and it's kind of neat that everybody comes back and still wants to be a part of everything and it's always that atmosphere of of just columbia football i mean every year it's it's something special so it's always something to look forward to libermeyer sends it deep once again another high kick floating in the air gonna be caught at the third at the five yard line they're going to run it to the left side looks like that is number six for red bud who lays the wood at the end of the play easton luck mars get goes 55 yards i don't know who the eagle was over there but they got ran over and lost 15 yard return brings up first and then and after some quick math we carried the one brought the two over and the cheerleaders are currently at 102 push-ups who taught you that ms longroff i had miss longroff mrs steve you know a lot of great math teachers columbia high school redbud will take over 34-0 6 minutes 33 seconds remaining in the first half columbia gonna have five four men on the line of scrimmage three linebackers dominic vegley creeping up as well another slow starting play gonna be a roll out to the right going to be caught by number 44 and it's going to be tackled by number 20 andrew maldon you get 44 out in open space he's yeah he's a big boy and he'll lay the wood he just put his head down there on maulding ran right through him got the first down good play there for red bud devon hall pretty good athletic play by throw being behind him devin comes in at 220 and just got brought down by the 160 pound andrew malding so grab on and hang on for the ride did a great job of it great job andrew coming up from the safety position as well high formation four redbud tight end to the right side gonna be handed off right away at the line and almost handed off to the columbia defense aligned on the play and we got one two three four five eagles getting off their running back there so uh swarm tackling like we said cody because charmaine loves it yard on the fly brought down by a flock of eagles nothing like a flock of eagles comes coming ralph stone over in the pa announcing booth that's when you don't know who makes the tackle you just give it to everybody howie napped down doing stats once again and i'm sure he got the tackle down there that man i sent him an email about some stats this week and got it for you 20 minutes yep he has some great stats we might have to talk to him this year doubles for the redbud musketeers to the left side or to the right side i'm sorry is the running back going to be a hand run by the quarterback doesn't get anything at first has to go to the left and he's going to be brought down by number 28 london little great open field tackle london kind of set the edge there he was playing corner on the far side of the field play kind of broke down quarterback took off to the left and london forced it back inside and made a big play force a third down so that brings up third down and 11 from the red bud 34 yard line coach germain's got to be happy with his defense right now at the start no hat backwards yet though no hat backwards i didn't even see did he have it on backwards for pre-game no no it's been forward this whole time wow that's a first it is sniffer back right doubles to the right side single running back it's going to be a straight drop back throwing off the back foot once again it's going to be caught by devon hall up the middle of the field good for a 16 yard completion before being brought down number 52 garrett that's something you're running madden right there third and long you got one safety got a tight end on each side and two receivers they just ran four verticals so that that forces that safety to make a make a choice if he wants to go with one of the tight ends or if he wants to play in the middle of the field and running back running back runs straight up the middle ran a vertical and caught a pass for a good first down for redbud you can hear the band chanting over to the right side they are always in it whether it's basketball or football they do a great job first and 10 from the 50 for red bud doubles to the right side they're going to fake the pitch it's going to be a handoff and it's not going to go anywhere once again seven eagles on the tackle right forward on the carry can't see who started it look like maulding was in there big shout out to aidan seppich too i see him working hard down there all the time down there water boy yep keeping everybody fresh i know he loves being down there with all the guys brings up a second down in 11 310 remaining in the first half columbia leads 34 nothing in the first week of the 2020 season doubles to the left side going to be a pass by the quarterback who's throwing off his back foot again and it's going to be picked by andrew molding who tries to get up and run but you can't do that in high school football but that's another turnover for the eagles defense that makes it what four now three picks and uh fumble recovery brings up first so columbia will start at the musketeers 49 yard line one more touchdown and we will have a running clock in the second half you get to a 40 point lead running clock for the entirety of the second half coach horner's usually got that in mind also yup cali mclaren comes in as quarterback maulding was split out wide they're gonna send him in as a tight end sniffer back to the right two running backs in the backfield gonna take the snap gonna hand it off to kyle oh no colin's gonna keep it i thought he gave it to mcconaughey but he pulled it got to the line of scrimmage and no more after that good fake there by mclaren no gain on the play tackle i thought i thought mcconaughey and that's something that coach horner also also expresses early on in the season um whenever you're doing play action if you're gonna keep the ball or hand it off to your running back put it in the put the ball in your running backs belly and pull it if you're going to keep it because you've seen a lot of fumbles and mishaps with the running back over the past couple years well over over all of time so it's important to get the ball in your running back's belly and firm the clamp down on it so no turnovers take place it's on the play clock and coach warner has to call a timeout i don't know if he couldn't get what he wanted if the players couldn't get what they wanted but regardless columbia takes their first time out columbia leads it currently 34-0 in two minutes and five seconds remaining in the first half we will be back after this break welcome back week one action columbia eagles and the red bud musketeers alex schlemmer and jared germain with you tonight columbia currently leads it 34-0 getting ready just before half time where we'll have the marching eagles performing at halftime not going to be on the field like usual but we'll be down in the end zone getting their routine in we're going to send a man in motion's going to be little handoff up the middle is mcconaughey he's going to try to make one man miss and he gets brought down looked like he almost got out of it but just had his leg only going to be a gain of two to bring down a third and eight rounds sending london in motion there also puts a lot of pressure on red buds defense because when you got to shift your defense a little bit move a guy out with him if i mean if you even want to go man-to-man on london which that's a tough that's a tough match up there but sending london in motion can make a lot of mishap on the defense missler comes out weber comes in he's going to be at the top of the field trips right mclaren is going to drop back he's going to step up into the pocket great pocket by the offensive lineman he's going to scramble the right side throw it down the middle of the field and it's going to be high pointed and caught by number 28 london little great job fighting for the football there by london little [Applause] wow talk about high point in the football there he went up and got that so that brings up a first down after about a yeah we'll call it 25 yard gain some of these passes you're seeing from mclaren you're just like he's throwing him up there and he's like go get it go get is that my athletes one minute 10 seconds and counting ball at the 24 yard line mclaren takes a stamp throws it to the right side where he's got mauldin who's going to catch it move try to make a man miss and he's going to be brought down by two musketeers good for a nine yard gain 52 seconds remaining where columbia will call a timeout at halftime like i said ladies and gentlemen we will have the band playing we will go over our senior spotlight we'll revisit some of our plays scoring plays and we will have the coaches corner which is going to be something new that we do this year going to highlight all the coaches i believe we got six coaches on the staff this year and i think this week we go over with coach horner we do coach warner in week one sounds good to me like you said columbia gets into the end zone one more time we will have a running clock [Music] for the second half one thing i've noticed too coach kendall is usually the get back coach he's pushing everybody off the white telling everybody get out of the way so we don't get a penalty this year he's the spread apart coach players players need to be be socially distanced and they're doing a pretty good job of it actually they might bunch up here and there but for the most part they're staying apart from one another and wasn't sure how that was going to work but they're doing a good job they don't have to stay within the 25 yard lines like a typical year they're allowing extra extra room to keep their distance i did not know that so second down and one for the eagles doubles running back to the left mclaren is quarterback he's gonna step out back into the corner of the end zone he's got london little open he's got london little for an eagles touchdown on a beautifully placed ball by colin mclaren and a great catch by london little that's a ball i like to see he didn't leave that one up in the air put a little more um under it met london in the back corner of the end zone and a great corner out there by london little to get his third touchdown of the game i'm not saying it now but it looks like we might have an early player of the game i think they're i think that could be uh you could have a case for that we will have a player interview another new thing this year's broadcast whipping meyer on to for the p-80 snap good hold a little low looks like it slipped out of the holder's hands but kick is up and good as the eagles take a 41-0 lead with 45 seconds here in the first half and looking good here for the eagles early on absolutely we had a couple panel penalties there in that we've been pretty clean i think we've brought the juice and uh i like what i see in this first half the unfortunate thing you only have the six the six games this year so um you just wish you could have a full nine nine weeks with this i mean especially with playoffs yeah but we'll take the six games we're not going to complain too much there so if we add another 41 push-ups to the 102 that have already been done we're up to 143 push-ups for the cheerleaders yeah same not even halftime yet yeah i don't think i've done 143 push-ups in the last two years 45 seconds remaining in the first half we've just had one kickoff go to the 15 and two or three touchbacks and then had two or three stopping at the five yard line like i said we look at the flags we don't see them moving but everything that happens to our left side what we would call the wilderness seems to be just floating up in the air [Music] with meyer on here to send the kick off away to redbud it's another booming kick looks like it's gonna travel yep right at the goal line he catches it about a yard deep in the end zone that'll be a touch back red butt will get the ball in the 20-yard line you know just as i say that it looks like it's floating in the air he kicks it to the end zone makes a lot out of me so redbud comes out once again looking at some of their other linemen number 55 is bryce aymond 6'5 260.
looks like isaiah's finally gotten that condition again good for him i've seen him do it and does it more than i do high snap shane becker though tall enough to get it gonna lob it up one hand grab by none other than johnny ferentino good enough for the first down more than that good enough to get into red zone territory first in tennessee meadow 5 30 remaining and counting in the second quarter seven nothing once again nissan middle score and this with a great opportunity to make this that double-digit lead that they've been looking for what a catch absolutely over the over the defender questionable i thought it was going to be a pick but johnny guaranteed approved me wrong snap gonna be a pass he's gonna roll out rolls out forward gonna be close to the first down they're close they might not give it to them they might make them a yard short yep they will so second and inches to be exact nine yard gain by number nine shane becker version second down on one the six of amherst territory great position here free song meadow could run it right up the middle they're not going to they're not going to decide to oh never mind they will run it with shane that'll be good enough for the first about a two to three yard gain so first and goal now for east long meadow timeouts remaining art three for east long meadow two for amherst first down and goal from the four on the four yard line with a chance to make it once again a double-digit lead shane in shotgun formation to the right of him isaiah king three wide receiver front snap gonna run it with isaiah isaiah up the middle he's got some running room are they gonna they're gonna call him short of a goal they're gonna say about two yards so second and goal on the two yard line [Music] second down and goal from the two once again shane becker shotgun formation they're gonna call false start that'll bring them five yards back [Music] and goal on the nine [Music] sorry on the seven i had no math [Music] if they could quickly get an information they have a wide open wide receiver close to us on the sidelines unable to they're gonna take their time snap fake the handoff pass oh dropped almost looks as if they elected to not catch it for the safety of a tackle for loss then again i'm not in the minds of the wide receivers and neither is anybody around here besides none other than that player so third and goal on the seven obviously seven yards to go right here would be a great time to possibly try which way we've seen from chainbreaker that would be a great time to try this qb scramble that he's been doing quite quite often and you know when i played quarterback i did that a lot wasn't the same reason as it wasn't the same reason as him i couldn't take the snap couch is good touchdown east long meadow touchdown by number nine shane becker to jacob rabbit who number eight bit of a confusing one there but scores once again 13 to nothing east long meadow extra point pending cj calogy with a chance to go two for two with the extra point [Music] it's a chip shot for cj it's a trip shot oh yeah does he play golf no then then he probably doesn't even know what a trip shot is we asked him what a chip shot is he's like i don't know chip shot that's definitely a chip shot that was high enough in the air he hits the he hit the crossbar of the soccer net behind the field goal 14-0 doing the crossbar challenge to a whole new extreme [Music] absolutely you saw metal already getting ready to kick amherst still on their sidelines and a wrath still tying a god you got to do you got jewish yeah exactly i mean i've had times where i had to type a shoe and luckily russ were nice enough to stop the game for me to tie my that's a nice raffle i've ever seen a face off i tied my skate i got kicked off so mad did they like kick you off the ice and put you on the bench they just kick you out of the center out of the center oh okay do they do they do that like like professionals like do they kick people all the time okay like an absurd amount too yeah like all yeah the worst thing about hockey yeah it's trust me i've questioned some of those too but then again you are one to jump pretty easily yeah he's gonna be the dirty guy over here i don't feel safe anymore wow absolute boot side spin gonna be grabbed at the five and take it up got him by the shirt sure grab gonna stop him before the 20 they're gonna call them with before the stoppage of forward progress at about the 17 first and ten ampersand their territory on their 17 scores once again 14 to nothing east long meadow 305 remaining in the second quarter once again a defense sign to our left once again his wife like i've said is probably one of the fences and i don't blame her because there's one thing i've learned about being that's one thing i've learned about watching the jacksonville jaguars is defense isn't a thing but it's okay we got trevor lawrence yeah trevor and luke is laughing because because half of him remembers my nickname from freshman year you look exactly like him gage i i didn't see it goldilocks okay that i remember that one that one was pretty good that one i gave you guys the trevor lawrence one was like the seat what the seniors called me which was also like i didn't know if i should be like happy or if i should be like mad because are they making fun of me tackle for loss tackle that the i believe the 15 i am correct so it lost for a long time so second and thirteen on their fifth one person is fifteen amherst with the ball see famous try any type of throw i think they've only tried it once or twice they tried it once and it was batted away almost intercepted that's why they don't want to throw yeah i don't blame them i mean if your pass is going to intercept you i just don't throw i mean if you're not disciplined and you're still throwing it after throwing an interception that would be pretty that's that's pretty stupid but then again there's worse things that we've seen cass is caught below so no gainage actually going to be a tackle for loss he caught it behind the line of scrimmage at that point at at that point he had to catch it ruling would have been a fumble timeout east long meadow timeout east long meadow so two timeouts remaining for both third and 14 [Music] on amphurst's 14.5 also another addition to the coaching staff free selling meadow none other than coach bianchi coached the jv team basketball team for two years i was the manager with him for this preview uh this current year amazing guy knows what he's talking about all the time he i don't know if he played when he was in high school or in college but he definitely has the mindset for coaching first year helping the football coaching staff was looking to possibly get an interview with him during halftime but with problems and what not in the regulations we decided it was best to not do so but so not just him we wish all of these coach all the coaching staff and players the best of luck throughout the season while we wait for play to resume 209 remaining in the second 14-nothing the score east long meadow with a nice double-digit demanding lead momentum all in their favor as it is third and 14 to go for amherst on their own 14 would be the second time in a row ampersand stopped within their own red zone not something you want to do as a team amherst has gone to the past twice one completed behind the line of scrimmage these other one almost intercepted on a third down we wouldn't be i wouldn't be surprised if they decide to go with the run looks like they will with a four wide receiver front one running back one quarterback and the five lineman obviously snap direct gonna go for the pass like i said pass is intercepted by johnny farantino he has been on fire tonight and he will continue to do so as he gets the interception and we'll be in red zone territory for east long meadow already [Music] first and ten on the 24 of amherst territory they decide to put in shane becker as he already got them the touchdown previously looks like he's earned some shorting cleats never seen those before or no sorry those are nike whoops i can't read logos that's nike that's not turning shane becker snap pass high leading could not lead nikola jones enough incomplete second and ten 157 remaining second quarter it's really cold i i i can't feel my fingers can you feel your toes nope i told you to hurt i told you the word look look we always warn other commentators obviously this is uh luke's first time commentating catch over a defender again good enough for the touchdown touchdown throne though rested long ago with a 20-point lead and with the extra point pending it could be a 21-point lead yeah freshman to freshman freshman of freshman combination [Music] and a lot of promise for shane as this is what could possibly be from what i've heard his first year playing quarterback extra point goes further back than last time 21 nothing 151 remaining in the second quarter but as we were saying before the time or as i was saying before the touchdown with this being luke's first time color commenting or commenting in general i usually try to warn people about hey this is the situation that goes on this is what we need to this is the preparation i told luke to dress warm i got two pairs of socks on your toes are still cold not just that he also over bundled than me and i'm cold so he can make fun of me but i'm fine um because then again you got to remember i commentated the soccer game literally the last soccer game of the entire season and that was like 20 degree weather trust me i wore a suit i wore a long sleeve shirt i wore a jacket i was still cold mother nature does not like me and i don't know why i've only been nice to her you got another boot from clojie absolutely we'll see if he gets the side spin that he got last time [Music] boot's about higher going to go to the 10 and it's going to be returned number 10 taking it from the 10 gonna be brought down at the about 18 once again amherst so the 10-yard line by cj calogy they'll actually market number one 19.
i think redbuds got us out outsized on the line i was always outsized on the thing too they always put me a little taller and way more a little bit redbud got trips to the right side going to be a pass out of the quarterback who's scrambling right off the bat he's getting chased down he's going to throw it to number 35 as a flag penalty on the play number 35 is going to keep making something out of nothing he's going to gain about eight yards however it will come back with the holding penalty was that straighter that was in pursuit on that sack there i think so it looked like number 22 yeah on the field looks like it's gonna be a holding on red bud it's gonna push him back so that play does not count i don't know if schroeder was on a blitz or if he just saw pass and his responsibility was go and sometimes whenever they whenever they run options sometimes there's assignments for linebackers to take the running back and for somebody else to take the the quarterback so maybe there was a little assignment there but good job by schroeder to put pressure on the quarterback so with the holding penalty oh yeah that's half the distance of the goal in it whenever it's this far back i didn't know you could go half the distance from backwards i thought i thought it was forwards huh well they were on 21 now they're on the about the nine yard line looks like so we'll call it first down in 21 for the musketeer send a man in motion from right to left gonna hand the ball off go right up the middle for about a gain of four look like devin hall on the carry once again and brought down by a bunch of eagles who we got getting up here last schrader and number 63 grant anthony for the tackle it looks like red bud's just going to let this one run to the half as the eagles are going to go into halftime with a 41-0 lead and you can't really i know i said it earlier but you can't really ask for a better start to a season um with a 41-0 lead and i mean we had two touchdowns before our offense even stepped on the field so that's something coach horner is going to love to see from his squad so that takes us to halftime columbia leading 41-0 we will send it to break and we will come back with the marching eagles once we come back [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] ready [Music] wow [Music] foreign [Music] okay ready [Music] so [Applause] [Music] uh [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Applause] [Music] do [Music] thank you [Music] two ready four [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] what else we got yeah here we go [Music] ready [Music] [Applause] [Music] uh [Music] huh [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] my [Music] [Applause] hey all right everybody up i don't care what you are getting up one two three go [Music] uh right welcome back to columbia ladies and gentlemen where the eagles have a 41-0 lead over the redbud musketeers about six minutes left to go in the halftime show you're just listening to the eagles marching band like we said earlier always a great job new segment we're doing this year the senior spotlight this year we were like we said we had about 17 seniors our first senior that we are going to introduce easton andrews easton's a senior this year been playing football for four years his team goals he wants to go undefeated and grow a strong bond together personal goals he wants to try to become a better football player and a better person as long as keep his quarterback untouched as much as possible as much as he possibly can after high school he plans on going to rankin for mechanics and do some things related with the cars his hobbies include cars sports hunting hanging out with his buddies his prep before the game he likes to watch the tendencies of the people he will be up going against and think of a ways that he can beat them superstitions before game day i like this one never check the weather it'll be bad and right after school he likes to try and try to calm himself down and have quiet time where he is better his favorite memory came from his junior year at jv where he blocked a punt and scored a touchdown against waterloo and that's our first senior of the year easton andrews second one colin mclaren colin's been playing four years at chs 10 years all together with the blue jays as well as team goals he wants to go 6-0 play well and stay healthy his personal goals goals be as efficient as possible on the field and have offense success and score touchdowns i like that out of your quarterback plans after high school is majoring in nursing at slue studying to becoming a nurse anesthetist i don't know that's a tough word i struggle with that one hobbies include playing basketball frisbee he's prep before a game weakest points on the defense to attack from the offensive point of view look at tendencies and teams on the defense and in their coverages his superstitions listen to music and stretch some way before every game his favorite memory at chs is going undefeated on the regular season last year as a junior that is colin mclaren next is kyle jackson this year's center he's been playing football for 14 years started at the j or at the blue jay level he wants to stick together and finish strong and he wants to finish strong and hit hard plans after school is to go to work in construction big kyle really enjoys going hunting and fishing that's anytime you talk to him he's going to talk about going hunting prep before again he likes to go and see who he's going to go up against and his superstitions treat it as a normal day until they walk through the gates doesn't like to get himself too pumped up before a game his favorite memory was finishing strong with lifelong friends who i started playing football with that is kyle jackson our last senior for the evening is peyton westfall he's a senior and been playing football for four years he wants to go undefeated and have fun together and he wants to get back this year because of a leg injury that he sustained before he wants to get a bunch of as many tackles as he can after high school he's going to go to siue to obtain a bachelor's degree degree in education his hobbies include hanging out with the boys and watching tv his prep before the game study as well as look at who i'm going up against superstitions red bone and prey is that red bone and prey i guess so yeah i'm not sure and his favorite memory is going undefeated last year so that is this year's or this week's four seniors going over to the coaches corner where you're going to feature coach horner whose coaching career started in red but not too many people know that started back in 1994 before making the switch to columbia while he was at red bud coaching football he was also the track coach came to columbia where he started coaching football in 1996 to today he was also a track coach back then at columbia and he became the head coach with coach germain in 2001 and those two have been together like we said earlier for 20 years now and he's coached for 28 total years his coaching duties he is the head coach the offensive coordinator and the defensive backs coach if anybody knows him from his high school days he was a great athlete he is now the athletic director and that began back in 2019 he teaches pe his hobbies include hunting and fishing once again he talks about hunting all the time playing and watching his kids with sports he enjoys watching how to exploit the secondary and get the kids and his athletes the ball in space defensive fronts and techniques and how we use the formation to gain an advantage his superstitions doesn't really have any he enjoys the 30 minutes in the coach's office before games sharing stories and cracking jokes to help the nerves and the stories that they have told there is a lot of jokes and a lot of nerves that are cracked his favorite win was a 2007 semi-final versus greenville which they won on a blocked p-a-t late in the game and in 2001 he went 12-6 with a victory over central favorite thing about coaching relationships of the kids leaving new football trends every year and his relationships that he has with his players still hold strong too today so that is this year's or this week's rather coaching corner and senior spotlight jared we come back to you now what were your three keys and do you think that they were uh accomplished in the first half so uh one of them was to keep it clean we've only had we've only seen a couple penalties i think two or three penalties that have not really caused uh much yardage on us but i think uh i think we'll be fine here in the second half we clean up a little bit secondly the conditioning looks fine it looks like everybody's seems to be we haven't really had any cramps no injuries so it looks like everybody's been been pretty up to date with their conditioning and then the third one is get after it and all you got to do is really look at the scoreboard for that one i mean that pretty much tells it for itself we had three touchdowns in the first five six minutes of the game we had a kick return right off the bat we had pick six before our offense even stepped on the field so i think they're getting after it tonight which is definitely good for the coaches to see and uh fun for the fans to watch absolutely once again we'd like to thank everybody for tuning in tonight uh we've had a bunch of comments coming in we've had some texts jared's phones lighting up i don't know who's texting them we're not going to talk owen sue camp sam horner i got all types of guys they're saying give me a shout out zach can work got a bunch of old columbia football players that still listen to today and it's it's nice to see those names pop up on my phone all the time whenever they uh know it's eagle football time will meyer sends it deep gonna be caught at the 12-yard line return man had a full head of steam whenever he caught it he brought it back to the 30.
conor robidu with the tackle kind of robot to a quarterback be able to make the tackle amber with a lot of credit from their own i if connor ever watches this i feel bad for him i do greatly apologize to you cotter uh we've made a lot of fun of you because of your height and now your average height so now you now you can i can't make fun of you i can still make fun of you for saying that you were gonna try a method of gaining weight because of how skinny you were and of like a protein shake and it going through your entire body system in like 20 minutes that you told me that's a story that i feel like it when shared nobody believes you're about a seven eight yard gain second in about three story is about a couple of years ago 17th grade we'll say i think sounds about right connor and landon during these center like carnival that island meadow does we they came up to me and they're like yeah we did like a protein change to try and get more body weight and i said to them i go and what happened they go it went through a body system in 20 minutes and i gained i actually lost weight i go that that that's concerning that means that they have a fast metabolism and absolutely taken down i i can't even tell you who got the tackle there because it was like three forty song little players but it doesn't matter it's a tackle for loss and it's gonna be a third and we'll call it oh they're gonna actually say what's happening they'll say it was at the line of scrimmage the second third and two now pass incomplete fourth into 41 seconds 41 and a half seconds remaining in the second quarter if i were amherst i would try to run this game the first and go into the half probably don't want to go into the half down and completely shut out for one half but look to bounce back and that is all the momentum absolutely once again amherst will get the ball to start the second half and ampers will decide to punt i just realized i have a hand warmer i could have brought pawn is up further past the 40 past the 30 past the 25 past the 20 and at the 15 14.
and we will have a running clock now with the 40 point advantage so the second half will go pretty quick we'd like to thank everybody like i said for watching we'd like to thank all of our sponsors this year as well and we encourage all of our fans in a year as tough as we had last year please uh go to our sponsors and support the local businesses as they have supported us in this year going to be an i formation for redbud looked like a fullback might have been to the right side and it's going to be a run to the right number 35 with the carry with the lead block of devin hall number 35 on the carry was frank ford dominic can bring up a second down and eight from the 34-yard line i like the fact dom's playing safety safety there and he still comes up makes that tackle you like whenever your safeties are on in the ollies like that yeah that's something coach tremaine has always said on his that's big on his defense if your safeties in your cornerbacks can make tackles come up and make plays that can make a huge difference in your defense second down and eight for redbud three men down for the defensive lineman look to be a linebacker looking like they're going to blitz and they will dominic's going to come up and he's going to pick up a fumble and i believe it will be recovered by the eagles it looked like it was hopping around and it will be recovered by columbia columbia look like they're running a little counter run there and number maybe just a mishap on the on the handoff covered by the eagles dom was there for the recovery but instead kyxin said outside i'll take that kyle jackson with the senior fumble recovery it looks like dominic vaguely will be our quarterback for this drive his 2 train comes off and number 62 for columbia comes off the field as well jason kaczynski and now he's coming back on i know he's coming back on going in at the guard position got a lot of confusion on where people are lining up coach horner's gonna have to burn a timeout here not gonna be too happy because he at halftime you know he probably had this all set up who's gonna be playing at the line who's who's where so coach horner is not gonna be happy here as uh they call a timeout with 1008 left in this third quarter looks like coach baker and coach stumpf have gone down to the sideline there the coaches up top this year coach baker lineman coach along with amsterdam coach champs and yep so now coaching seth this year we have coach horner coach jermaine coach amsden coach baker kendall coach kendall and coach stump james sepich is the trainer once again howie nap doing stats looks like we got running the ball duties i think buddies anderson's down there as well doing the stats buddy yep standing right there next to uh and then aiden doing the water boy sharky on pictures and stats and t nick behind all this with a great setup from him thank you sir doubles to the right side for the eagles sniffer back left now they move him to the right running back goes to the right going to be a hand off and he's going to go up the middle going to be hit at about two yards after a gain look like jeremiah beutemann hit pretty much the running back there brings up a second down in nine say goodbye frank ford i believe bieleman's a sophomore this year or is he a junior it doesn't say oh they don't say on here we'll have it for you next week double the right side sniffer back right quick pass play out to the right side you're going to be out of the reach of number 14 kylan saigon just look like dom's in a little bit of a hurry there and falls incomplete third down at nine i think he's a sophomore if i had to guess i think so too i don't built him in third down in nine nine minutes to go in the third quarter columbia leads redbud musketeers 41-0 gonna be a hand-off this time to butterman he's gonna run right he's gonna follow a lead block and he's gonna get grabbed by number 35 and brought down flag on the play penalty flag on the play looks like the ref's gonna signal holding don't retaliate holding is the call on the play holding 8 53 remaining in the game now it's going to bring up a third down and very long you don't like seeing this you'd rather him come out and punch another one in right off the bat get this clock to keep running trips right bunch single receiver looks to be molding up to the top giltman goes to the left side of dominic vaguely now we got too many guys online on scrimmage now we got it set up right now we're good to go good snap going to be caught by dominic vaguely he's going to look to his right side he's going to scramble to the right side and he's got number 14 colin sagan makes a man miss and he gets that miss and gets to a columbia eagles first down at the 14 yard line good second effort there yeah caught a little outro ran ran over to the sideline didn't really look like he was going to make it corner had a good pursuit on him but made a good cut to his left and tackled right after he made the first down i like the quarterbacks this year being able to move around and uh extend plays into something into nothing seven minutes 50 seconds remaining in the third quarter columbia has a first and ten from the 14 yard line trips right into the boundary gonna be a handoff nope gonna be kept by dominic bailey who's gonna go up the middle makes two men miss and he's brought down by two guys at about the six for a gain of eight good patience by dom on that player picked up nine yards on the floor and that's something you could tell from last year he got a little bit of playing time i know he didn't play any quarterback but um played a little bit on the defensive side of the ball and he's got a lot of patience for just being a freshman last year and now he's a sophomore but he's got a young a lot of patience for being a young kid like he is same formation gonna be a pass to the right side to colin saigon he's gonna catch use his blocker make one man miss get up to the two yard line she got the first down and goal for the eagles three yards on the flag first down at the two yard line that play is so hard to guard whenever you have a linebacker that's not playing over the slot and if if you have a good stock block out there by your outside receiver that could be a touchdown all day same formation again first and goal from the two yard line for the eagles leading the musketeers 41 nothing going to be hand off the beautiful man he's going to go up the middle touchdown for a columbia eagles touchdown [Applause] [Music] that a new horn this year too it is a new horn that is brought to you by a couple of the parents um set up on in the uh stadium here and that sucker's loud when we're in here i can't imagine what it's like out there so what do we got here we got new turf all the way around the field new logo same jerseys i think right and and helmets our white helmets different we had the white helmets good snap good hold kick is up and it is pushed to the left side our broadcast is different six minutes 35 seconds remaining in the third quarter this year's broadcast brought to you because of the covert restrictions the limited capacity the amount of people that are watching at home and hopefully this is something that even next year if we are back to normal we'll be able to keep it going and uh i think we could have a lot of fun with something like this we love doing it that's for sure i love doing it so we will add to our cheerleader push-up tally i gotta find my notes what were we at last time like 143.
let it roll maybe let it roll down the 14 27 and 27 seconds and eight tenths of a second there's something english majors won't like me saying this and in that so first and ten eastern over first and meadows from their own fourteen east long meadow would be smart to decide to run it and get out of here with this 21 nothing lead don't want to risk an interception in a return for a touchdown or field goal he's gotta run the clock yeah they should and they do run to isaiah king he's brought he's brought down behind the line of scrimmage amherst could also call a timeout with two remaining and a restart looks like they want 17 seconds 15 seconds and counting third and fifth third in about 14 or second and 14. i'm thinking they're gonna get no yards on this next play but they're not even going to snap it four three two and one and that'll do it for the first half 21 nothing commanding lead for the east long meadow spartans amherst gonna look to try and do something to take back what could have been a lead for them once again amherst will get the ball to start the second half and we'll be back for the start of the second half wow [Music] so hey okay you know oh okay and we are back for the start of the second half score is once again 21 nothing east long meadow with the lead amherst to get the ball to start the second half key player for this that helps this lead builds free song meadow johnny ferentino got the touchdown yep got the interception and actually we can say press the longer too do touch chance there's a couple of receptions in a couple recessions with two touchdowns so we wait for the kick which i could wish i will wish could come 10 times sooner so i can get out of here and not be freezing kick is on the way and we begin the second half kick is gonna go [Music] now we know he could kick a 52 yarder if he goes that way yeah so the wind must be going to the right of us which means if we stepped over there it definitely wouldn't get wind yeah yeah it's going that way we actually could do that just we have enough cord we could stand over there okay yeah i know you're more layered up than i am so it's fine i'm fine you're i'm i'm fine everything's fine everything's under control four linemen front so it looks like eastern middle will have a four alignment for the radar of the season ampers will have a three even though we will not matter because we are an el cap production place not an amherst and we brought down about the 2021 gain of about five to six half of the distance they needed taken off second and five they gotta hold the line wait whoops i'm let me rephrase everything i just said second and nine because they're at the 20.
you just got to add six to your next yeah we now add we got 47.47 to that so we were at 143 carry the one we're at nine 190 push-ups but however i don't think they just did 47 push-ups that fast yeah i don't know how many they just did there but i don't blame them i definitely couldn't get down there and do 47 push-ups right now let that be 190.
i've i thought about the 15 from that missed field goal because remember how they put it look it's it's too it's too late for me 57 wyatt pool has entered the game [Music] a little confusion like uh macarena has already started to lose his his mind as he's now announcing players going in just randomly handoff to the right side going down the middle gonna be stopped by one we'll count it two now the 25 so that will be five five yards needed for the first app third and five on the four yard game 54 if you do math you can you can you can help me with that nine yeah third down to five minus five is what exactly there you go see i i know what i'm talking about for your game we're we're not only are we appealing to everyone who cannot make a weird feeling to the little kids watching with basic math with me get filthy hey i said basic math all right in the middle again down the middle oh he went over johnny varentino from the tackle it depends on where they're gonna stop his motion like where they depict the knee or the elbow down they're going to give him the first down out though 31.
we have an army of cheerleaders this year looks like we got 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 17 out there and one injury 47 nothing columbia leads the redbud musketeers in week one action of the ihsa season for 2020 being played in 2021 wilbermeyer sets up to kick he sends it deep and it will be caught at about the four yard line it's going to be bobbled a little bit but picked up by red bud who goes up the middle and caught at the 20-yard line the tackle made by colin saigon i think he just grabbed on and took the guy to the ground and just held on for the ride i'm pretty impressed by adam meyer's boot tonight he's been putting them inside the five at least at least a 10 getting them to at least a 10 if not a touch back so that's a great positive thing for any any coach any special teams coach and i know coach kendall takes a lot of pride in his uh special team stuff so props to adam with meyer on the kick in tonight redbud gonna have doubles to the right side shotgun formation running back to the right gonna be a snap that goes to the quarterback going to be handoff that goes to the left side bounces back to the right side still running hard is number 35 and he gets a 10 yard gain but he was hit at the line of scrimmage like derrick henry out there picks up nine yards 10 yards first speaking of coach kendall we will talk about this in his coach's corner he is i believe fifth place all time on like the longest kick or punt or something like that in the state oh really where is he oh fallon yeah you ask him he'll have the yardage the window oh yeah yeah he'll probably even show you the cleats he did it with probably yeah absolutely coach kendall o'fallon grad went on to punt and kick kendrick university so that's a good guy you've got college experience coaching football you like to have that background knowledge doubles of the left side tight end left running back single in the backfield going to be a pass play by number six luck he's gonna throw it down the middle of the field he's gonna be caught but tackled right away by number three bryce hildebrand good for about 14 15 yards first down red button by number three pretty good arm there all right i think bryce hit him before the before i even caught it yeah brings up a first down red bud now with the ball at their own 49 yard line redbuds set up about 20 yards deep for their huddle there guys are going to be winded when they get up to the line of scrimmage doubles to the left running back left shotgun formation for redbud first and ten they're gonna hand it off up the middle to number 33 who's gonna gain about three yards and get brought down by a flock of eels by a flock of eagles and a yellow handkerchief hits the ground face mask on the eagles we've had a couple of those tonight and that's something that we said in my uh three keys to the game not a lot of penalties and we've had a couple face masks that we could take back that we could clean up for next week but against still looking good here jared when we started this game we had a nice little orgasm situation on this desk and right now we've got papers on top of each other it's okay second down and two you can't let everybody know our we're not uh ready for this stuff well we're ready we just gotta fumble through them redbud runs 15 yards back up to the line of scrimmage gonna be eye formation tied into the left left side ball on the right hash three minutes 20 seconds remaining in the third quarter going to be a roll out to lot to the right it's going to be stuck right away by defensive back from the eagles who come flying up is that saigon [Applause] looks like 14 yep colin sagan zach my number 14 colin sagan the number 54 kyle jackson so loss of about six on the play brings up a third down and eight from the eagles 49-yard line this might be the first time redbuds been in eagle's territory thinking back i think it is so i got a third and about seven or eight here here two minutes 40 seconds remaining in the third quarter gonna be a shotgun gonna be another lollipop snap gonna be a hold but not gonna be called gonna be caught for red bud and it's going to be taken for a first down yeah that should have been a hole back there in the backfield right four picks up 12 yards the first down for run bud tackle by number 54 good screen though i mean without the hold the without the hold i don't think it would have went anywhere but that's okay those are my screen pass so that brings up oh now they're talking about an eligible man downfield i think that's what that call is especially if it's on a screen yeah the tapping of the head looks like they're going to push them back flag on the field illegal man downfield against so jared start thinking i think we can agree on who the player of the game is going to be after the game i think from the first two minutes you could have guessed the player of the game i agree too we will get a post-game interview with our player of the game i'm going to throw london little lyndon little london little out is my guesses yeah i was going to say london little you were going to say london i think we got a consensus yeah definitely 28. so third down to nine ball at the 50 one minute 10 seconds remaining in the third quarter doubles on the left side going to be a quarterback run right up the middle sniffed out right away by the number 52 garrett poulter brings up a fourth down and nine another three no not a three not they got a first down there but if you don't give it to london i don't know did we have a sack tonight from our quarterback did he get sacked tonight i don't nothing that comes to my mind no not that i can think of so you could won't throw one of the offensive alignment in there defensive lineman have been in the backfield pretty good complete game so far we're not over with yet keep this goose egg up on the scoreboard be pretty nice so fourth down to nine redbuds going for it ball right at the 50-yard line gonna be a drop back by number six easton luck he's gonna throw it to the right side and it's gonna be oh he dropped it dropped right through the hands of zach wetzel he was right there waiting for it and it falls incomplete maybe that's better that he didn't catch it though because you get the ball still at midfield here good point so that brings up a turnover on downs columbia offense will take over at the 50-yard line clock stops while they're switching the field i like the spot if you currently look you're about to start on a first and nine look like uh who's over on the chain gang i think it looks like alfie longroff on the i think it is alfie first in nine for the eagles but they move it back first and 10 from the 49.
they had to keep hole in the line they're just down at the 31 yard line first thing 10. 10 minutes remaining and counting 21-nothing to score gonna run it up the middle down at the 36. it's going up the middle gonna be about a six yard gain second and four seconds five two lucas ferguson lucas ferguson with the tackle this win does not help never tell me i'm the one who's sure run down the middle again good enough for the first down and more down at the 43 yard line first attempt again for amherst as they look to get their first score of the game on their first drive of the second half nine minutes and remaining timeouts reset for both teams so there's timeouts for three or timeouts at three for each neil's defense is doing pretty good absolutely hope that wasn't for me i feel you know what i feel bad for the bus drivers they sitting in the bus where else are they gonna be they can't drive back to amherst that's true run down the middle gave them about one maybe two they'll count it two stopped at what would be their 45 yard line it's the second and eight i mean yeah they drive down the hammers they just have to come right back once they get there yeah second down at eight but think about it if he's sitting in it he has to be like in the building yeah [Music] but then again maybe he's not because of covert regulations the bathrooms are open so maybe he's oh maybe hand off down the middle reaches forward almost fumbled it they're gonna say he got back to line of scrimmage if that reach counted he would have gotten maybe a yard so third and eight i'm is starting to stop amherst now would be the time to do so before they get into enemy territory giving you a better position to get started i would think these little meadows defense is kind of reading them like oh yeah right now the that's all they're doing is running up the middle back for the even not even just that but back for years before this new head coaching change this entire league was designed around uh running the ball that's all we did so long but it did that's all minchak did they were built around running the ball and so there's no surprise that this team is a one heavy offense we are probably and there's gonna be a run gonna get multiple yards good enough for the first down and more into east long meadow territory brought down at the 40 of eastsong meadows territory good enough like i said for first down and more first and ten amherst um but yeah i would bet we are probably one of the only teams around here besides obviously central that runs past heavy central would absolutely run up the middle first down central's freshman team almost dunked on me okay i think they could do beat us in anything i don't know you think your dad do you think if your dad was the age we were with his that hockey team you think because he was on that central team do you think he would if like let's say they were our age yeah at this time that team do you think they'd beat are you somewhat a team this year that's a good question i do not know we have to think about this pass he's gonna invade one tries to evade another we're gonna be tackled gonna be brought down at what could be the 34.
dominic vaguely hands it off to butelman who's going to run to the right side try to run away from three redbud musketeer players and is unable to do so so at the end of three quarters the eagles currently lead the redbud musketeers zero we will be back back with quarter action after this welcome back ladies and gentlemen to columbia high school where the eagles are taking on the red button musketeers here currently leading 47 nothing in the week one matchup of the 2020 season alex schlemmer and jared germain a 2015 grad 18 18. i'm not that old i thought you're older than that i'm sorry my apologies it's all right coming to you live for the first time with the video broadcast with the audio i believe next week will be audio only we are still waiting to hear back if we can have the video when we go to salem salem next week the wonderful trip last time we were there we did what thursday night football it was it was the big rain or something yeah wouldn't it yeah we had to cancel the game on friday because we were supposed to get a lot of rain on that friday and they just said let's play on this thursday so we went up there me and you went up there that thursday night broadcast to the game pulled out win trips left gonna be a handoff to beatleman who goes up the middle and he's gonna get brought down for a gain of two was hit at the line of scrimmage so he was able to fall forward we did have our first what looked to be cramps of the night redbud devin hall tackled by frankford who's getting his calf stressed out on our sideline here in between the quarters he's been playing a heck of a game he's been both sides of the football we've been saying his name a lot third down and seven gonna be a fake handoff caught out here to the left side is drew meganson who's gonna get back to the line of scrimmage and get no more might be the first punt we're seeing tonight from the eagles he's just about to ask you i think it is our first punt and it will be adam willmeyer coming back for the punt you think about this too you got colin mclaren out here speed so if you want to fake it great london little london little up top and i think two trains out there with them yep and then you got andrew malding back here as well so i mean if you ever want to do a fake you got plenty of guys to say you got some speedsters out there which i can't tell who the last player was that just came onto the field but good snap punk gets off and it's a good punt wave for a fair catch and caught at the 20 yard line which is where red bud will take over red butt takes over 20 yards and we got our second cramp of the night this time of columbia eagle i can see a three on the jersey i can't see the other if there is another number or not though seems kind of chilly out there i'm warm but i'm getting a little chilly here i know our cameraman here got a cold cold hands holding the camera what are some places that we have to do this outside we did at fairbury and that was that was cool absolutely windy awful we had uh freeberg i think we were inside some places you never know either you carlisle inside you end up outside and that's i'm in we might have more rain too like coming up in the since we're playing in the spring too so with the injury on the field we will send it to break we will be back with 10 minutes and 39 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter welcome back look like number three bryce hildebrand was the injured eagle and the play just looks like cramps redwood takes over at the 20 it's going to be a pass up the middle of the field is going to be caught by number 12 for red bud who's just on a straight go route to parket van dorn good for about 16 yards and brought down by number 18 for the for the goals hayden habermill gain of about 16 brings up a first down and 10-4 redbud at their own 36-yard line 10-10 remaining in the ball game columbia leads 47-0 on a pretty clean game by the eagles offense and defense defense has been very good tonight as they are on the field on a rollout to the right side it's gonna be sniffed out by the eagles gonna be another pass play to number 12 and it's going to be just dropped bobbled around bounced up and down and habermill on the area of the play almost had an interception i don't think he was ready for that second attempt i don't think he got he got his first chance at it and then the receiver tipped it off his hands and i didn't think he was going to have another he probably didn't think he was going to have another chance at it but hit him in the arms on the way down before hitting the ground like i said earlier now we've just got to keep that goose egg up on the field that's true i believe last year we had three of them if i remember correctly three shutouts i think we did have three shutouts might be somewhere in our mess of papers we got here maybe not who knows second down and ten doubles to the left side running back left gonna be a handoff up the middle nope gonna be pulled by the quarterback who's got the right side he's being chased down by drew meganson who is going to make the tackle after a key of about 11 then i bring up a first down four red bud good job by uh megan's in there to chase him down the down though go by number 11 drew meganson got a pretty good crowd here tonight for the eagles lined up a little bit along down the fence got a little blue crew over here to the left side of us there was a good student section over there it's thinned out now but at the start of the part of the game i like to see as many as there were red by taking taking the time in their huddle now they're coming up to the line of scrimmage as they get ready for this first and ten from their own 48-yard line high snap quarterback's going to take it roll out to his right pursuit there's a couple eagles on the pursuit and he's going to get sacked for about a loss of six or seven looks like a couple there was a couple players in there it looked like uh 65 owen brewer was one of the first ones there that might be the first sack of the columbia eagles season yeah luck's been able to run around and just throw it off his back foot and get rid of it so like we were saying about the shutouts i told you that i had that paper printed somewhere in our mess going to be a time out on the field red bud so last year like we said earlier 43 points per game given up eight so that was 476 points to 95.
this is completely number one it will be the 34 33 second down and three exact i think in between so we're both right it's like it's like calling black and red in uh roulette and landing on black you clearly just win your money back they gotta hold them you gotta keep them with them on their side absolutely there's one run down the middle good enough for a couple yards not enough for the first down looks like a 32 maybe 33. but if there's one thing you said to do i could say this with confidence about all of our sports teams we're not a joke stop by ferguson bring up third down it gets too a lead against shock proceeds to blow to a lead and tie a hockey game yeah exactly i watched that game and i saw your second goal i think that was your goal yes it was yeah i saw it on instagram i commented your app and then i looked the final score up and i got disappointed i wanted i don't i i want to call you run down the right side never mind take it up the middle and going to be brought down before the first might be at the line of scrimmage maybe a couple inches back no they won't go no they're not he wasn't even close i'm just i'm wondering if they're going to give him the line yep they will they'll give him the line of scrimmage so fourth and two for 30 and counting in the third quarter score is still 21 nothing looks like they're going to go for it wouldn't blame them now's the time they need to take every chance they can get absolutely it's getting rowdy it feels like this entire stadium is packed that's an understanding that's like an overstatement and a run down the middle good enough for the first down and more he's going to continue to run down he's getting pushed down and he's down at the 20.
we had four shutouts two seven point games and one 3.8 so that includes games whenever you give up 28 points to roxanna and uh fairbury you gave up 28 points so not a uh not a bad defense in this year you're starting off the season with a uh 47 bomb on the board right now 47 bottom with a board and a big old goose egg so coach has got to be happy with that oh no doubt i guess we're not seeing no coach tremaine hat backwards this year he's matured red bud coming back going to be a second down and we'll call it 20. seven minutes 37 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter they're going to have doubles running back to the right side following the right hash gonna be a lollipop snap again gonna be caught at line of scrimmage and number 12 is going to run all the way up to the 45 yard line he got downhill in a hurry there you see that play a lot with the eagles too little screen pass from the outside receiver taking a step forward and coming right back running straight towards the quarterback number 55 bryce aymond six foot five 260 came up slow on the play i think he gave us a thumbs up though the ref ref by asking me he's all right and he said give him thumbs up good to go they got number 65 as 510 but he was standing next to number 55 and look like they're the same height third down and 14.
about the 20 of these songs first and nate mills with the run he just plowed through like four guys he's like my height it looks like i mean he he was taller than all of them so i'm assuming it was my height the only person on that team that is not that i'm not taller than is ryan delaney he's like 12 feet tall so you called me 12 feet tall how's he 12 feet tall i'm i'm half of 12 feet tall i'm 6'3 and you're calling me 12 feet tall now you're calling him who's pretty sure isn't he like 6 11 how about eddie eddie oh my god eddie run down the middle brought down about the 14 maybe the 13. so about a six seven yard gain second now yeah remember eddie yeah he's you eddie i don't even i doubt you'd be watching this eddie if you're watching this i miss you bye you're even though you couldn't make a free throw i'm sorry i had i had to do you [Music] there inching their way to the end zone pass oh batted almost intercepted just barely off the fingertips third and three now for amherst they got lucky there that was close [Music] three you gotta hold them only for money to do it [Music] run down the left gonna take multiple to tackle them they do so it's gonna be close to the first unclear it's gonna be fourth down fourth and it looks like it's gonna remain fourth and two maybe like fourth in a long one it's more than short now would be the time where you either take multiple multiple multiple field goals to try and get back into this you're gonna get you need seven field goals to try and tie the game that's without them scoring which they've stomped over your defense with that play action and we and i can see shane becker warming up right now he's warmed up he's like like watching absolute bomber okay that was a fat throw to call a bomber on because that wobbled um time out time out amherst timeout ambers 157 remaining in the third quarter score continues to be 21 nothing east long meadow timeouts three song meadow now two for amherst we'll be back after the timeout yes and we are back fourth and two amherst looking to go for it they're going to hurry up to that line running down the middle gb scramble good enough for the first time and more down at looks to be the six seven yard line first in goal now for amherst first down amherst first and goal from the slaw meadow seven so it'll be from the seven looking to get the stop hand off down the middle again because we haven't seen that enough [Music] it's anything they've done and that looks like it'll be brought down at the two maybe the three second goal [Music] let's try to stay right again you know what's really bad when you think about it we are commentating to people who are inside the warmth of their own homes let's be nice i want to get paid for that under a minute remaining in the third run down the middle because we haven't seen that enough touchdown amburst 52 seconds on the dot remaining in the third quarter scores now 21 east longmeadow 6 amherst extra point for amherst pending touchdown number eight from amherst [Music] i'm trying to grow they're going for two okay that's i don't know why but they must not have a kicker run down the middle whoa that's weird brand new tactic and it's stuffed squirrel v21 to six after a field two point conversion he saw in order to get the ball with 52 seconds remaining in the third quarter 52 seconds remaining in the third quarter he saw metal 21 amber six thank you marina for repeating what i just said me and macarena have like a rivalry going on i'm gonna take a jump jack i was gonna say i was gonna take his job but i'll no i'm good i'll never take his job huh um unclear who they're gonna send back looks like they're sending back isaiah king to receive the kick connor's probably very confused that the fact that he has to go out there for those he's a quarterback i haven't seen a quarterback go out there before oh it looks like they're going to do this they're going into the hands unit yeah they're definitely doing the handsy in it yeah that's a hands unit [Music] yup they're doing handsy in it let's see what they're gonna do because the last time they did this they did like an on side kind of so that's why they have some up closers for those hands the hands yup see it's gotta go ten yards that is ten yards returning and going the other way connor robidu don't know what else it looks like to be the 50 first first and ten for east long meadow from their own 47 yard line nevermind 47 wow i'm really great with numbers uh it looks like conor will be the quarterback i gotta continue momentum i would i would probably put a chain since he was the one with the momentum yeah but maybe shane's the jv quarterback maybe that's why because if he is then he can't he can only play a certain amount of time it's called hopping or something like that connor looking long looking long double coverage and incomplete that's what's intended for landon robidux i can tell that's landed from how he's running i sorry landon how you doing buddy i can definitely tell that to you can't wait to make fun of you a bit of later looks like a four maybe five wide receiver i can't tell it looks like four yeah i think it's four it's hard to tell us on the alignment and how tall they're yeah forward receiver front one running back and connor connor face the handoff play action incomplete landon drops the pass again now third down with 39 and eight tenths of a second to go absolutely not only get yards just drain the clock yeah stop stop saying oh well like you guys have to keep the possession as long as i can exactly i'm just going to check exactly score anything you know remember those like three days when it was like 60 degrees out that'd be nice right now yeah that's what i was gonna say oh that's a stiff arm from preston longo he's gonna take it into amherst territory actually he didn't even get tackled he kind of just walked away for a five-yard game he's got he's got bigger hands than me press longo is a very average kid like he's average height and he's got the hands to like grip a basketball i don't know how but it's amazing it looks like they're gonna try and run the clock out i unfortunately we don't have like a play clock so i can't see how long before they need to snap but yeah it looks like they're just gonna drain the clock three two one and that'll do it for the third quarter score is 21 east long widow six amherst after their failed two-point conversion island widow still on their drive that they took for the entire third quarter of the possession that they had looking to punt from what we saw but we'll see what will happen in the fourth quarter we will return shortly on el [Music] capitan me trying to touch my head put it in your mask it would heat up the mass and we are back to start the fourth quarter score is 21 he saw meadows six amherst after their failed two-point conversion island meadow looking to finish off the drive that they started in the ending of that third quarter with the punt by cj punt almost blocked high up in the air gonna go far back bounces back towards so they're gonna grab it at looks like the 19 uh they'll probably call it the 20 so first and ten for amherst on their 20 looking to not only score a touchdown but try and get that two-point conversion to make it a one-possession game yeah defense has got to step up absolutely we've kicked by maybe this is just me but all i've seen is a run down the middle yeah so i mean it's worked i mean if i'm if i follow me songwriter i'm taking out myself i'm taking out the safe that one of the safeties maybe both of the safeties and throwing up what's on them they got one safety back maybe they listen to me yeah they definitely listen to me even though they can't hear me i'll just like to take care of this clogged in the middle exactly and then it looks like it might be a tackle behind the line of scrimmage maybe at the line of scrimmage they'll call it applause for the second time what's nice about this too is with a run heavy offense if you're down you're draining the clock on yourself so east long widow is just letting them drain them you should just let them drain the clock and with passing you get more yards exactly uh cubies from cuba gonna take it himself gonna gain about three four yards so it's gonna be a third and long in these situations the average amount of yards you want on the third down it's about three depends on your offense though yeah east long window's been able to like gain on average like six yards of play so they've done good with regarding absolutely keeping the qb safe [Music] i i got confused by that i lost the ball i i thought it was hot handed off behind him and then i realized they were all looking forward uh it looks like they they probably will give this to them yeah they'll give it to him from first down for amherst on their 30 first and 10 off of three consecutive runs [Music] the second they pass the second they passed it i'm like actually no offense amherst i'm genuinely going to be shocked i'll run down the middle oh well he's gonna evade one he's gonna need multiple people he's like a derrick henry in high school hair kendra in high school would six yard gain derek henry in high school yeah would probably touch down every single play against any team around here we are you understand i don't know of any professional athlete besides baseball that a kid for me songwriter was gone right number 22.
gonna be a pass play down the middle of the field gonna be caught by devin hall once again who's gonna be short of the first down but keep fighting and he might have got up to the first down marker i think he just ran a slant down the middle of the field forces the safety to come up and try to make a play but great great ball and great catch to get to a fourth that's a big man running down the middle of the field trying to catch a pass too red buds really exploited us in the middle of the field tonight yeah all of their completions have been down the middle that's something coach germain want to work on next week fourth down in one all at the eagles 43 yard line red butt under center this time i formation gonna be a quarterback sneak to the left side and it's going to be good for a first down after a gain of four look like luck just got behind his big uglies and followed pushed him forward so brings up a front and 10 from the eagles 40 yard line 5 minutes 40 seconds remaining in the ball game jared will be going down to do a post game interview with london little tonight at the conclusion of the ball game doubles to the right side two running backs in the backfield with luck as quarterback gonna be a high slow snap that's gonna get caught by the quarterback now he's got a scramble being chased by three eagles throws it down to the middle of the field and it's going to be incomplete good pressure there by the by the eagles to get there uh in the backfield pretty quick they were but probably back there in the first two three seconds that the quarterback had the ball but some of these snaps tonight have been so high for the quarterback and just slow to get get there so good job by the eagles to get in the backfield number 57 mason schnabel in number 62 jason kaczynski for the two eagles in pursuit of the quarterback and yeah those shotgun snaps and make it rain four minutes 30 seconds remaining no joke they set up for a huddle 10 yards deep and it's going to be no delay of game could have been but it wasn't sneaky quarterback sneak but he's not gonna get anywhere gonna get right up to the line of scrimmage once again bring up a third down and 10.
