jared were even born yet 97 now jared wasn't even born been coaching for 24 years coaching duties offense and defensive line and he is the press box coach with coach kendall i believe he goes over the offensive side of the ball when he's up in the coaches box in the press box teaching middle school high school pe and weights his hobbies include reading exercise football and family his prep before a game how defense aligns to formations who is their best player on defense what gets the defense out of what they want what to do superstitions always wear either my 80s cleveland clav shirt or my beat desales rival t-shirt from high school would have never known any of that his favorite win as a coach state semifinal win in 2006 kirkwood beats rockhurst first st louis team to win it in rockhurst in 20 years his favorite thing about coaching connecting with players and building relationships and that is coach pat baker with the columbia eagles offense and defensive side of the football with the linemen jared three minutes to go until after until the halftime's over we start the second half we talked earlier we wanted to rebound after last week's game now we need to rebound after the first half too yeah i think coming out we didn't really have a good start not a lot of energy on the columbia side of the ball we saw a quick turnover for the eagles that then led to a quick salem touchdown [Music] it looked like as the eagles were out of energy and there was no enthusiasm whatsoever on that sideline but i guess in that second quarter something kicked in got the ball back got a couple turnovers got the offense going on a great drive set up by adam webemeyer's third and 11 great catch across the middle of the field and then we just had a great drive going there and capped it off with a touchdown and offensive line has looked a lot better in this first half absolutely i think we did turn it around by the time it was all said and done as we'd like to continue doing that i believe we do get the football i think that's what the conclusion we came up with get out start early get another touchdown get all the momentum onto your side that'll get you your 20 points and you're 20 to seven you're off on your seven so that's out of the question my 35 to 14 prediction not looking too good either though it's still possible though so columbia is going to try to get going he started team snow angels 19 years ago he's now raised over three hundred thousand dollars for childhood cancer in st baldrick so like to thank everybody who donated that who came out to that and it's penciled in for march 26 2022 so we had i don't know probably 30 middle school kids high school kids i believe a couple parkview so we had a little bit of everybody up there so it's a great thing that the kids all get involved in and kids i have a lot of fun with it too would you ever do it uh i i well i did get my hair cut back in like sixth and seventh grade eighth grade basketball whenever we had to get it cut for coach wernberg but uh yeah i think i'd do it you do it yeah i think i'd do it all right put your money where your mouth is next year then we'll call that a challenge right now was that your mommy still cutting your hair oh absolutely thank you joyce hairfare for coming out and and cutting the hair with us that's enough talk about that let's get back to football football so salem they're a little bit noisier this time out coming out onto the field coaches before the game they were definitely getting into it a little bit too whenever we come walking through we did the pre-game interview their coaches were ready to fire it up to go a little bit different than what we see out of coach horner and coach germain yeah definitely kicking off for the wildcats [Music] and little back deep for the eagles london moving around as the ball gets kicked off and it will go over everybody's head uh-oh to about the five-yard line where it will be picked up by number 21 kyle mcconaughey he's going to try to make something out of nothing but he's not going to get anything pick up that's a little room over here on this left side if you would have kept running but got stopped up and tried reverse and field didn't work out very well for mcconaughey but columbia offense comes out with the ball in about the 14 yard line sophomore donovan dominic vagli comes back out with the eagles offense under center for the eagles based on the huddle situation here not very often when we go in a huddle and not go under center and that's what we're going to do coming out of halftime and heavy i believe that schroeder and poultry in the backfield with mcconaughey going to be a handoff just going to go power right up the middle there we go kyle mcconaughey go kyle's got a lot of room ahead of him he's going to make one man miss and that's about it he's going to go from the 15 all the way down to the wildcat 43 and good for about a 40-yard gain that's what we like to see love to see heaven that's probably the first big run we've seen from mcconaughey all year absolutely he hasn't really got much space i know he's he's got some hands every time he runs up the middle you know he gets his hands on him and sadly he gets brought down but um great job to bounce it outside there and when he gets an open space he's got some breakaway speed like he like he showed there bounced it outside and got him some room and great great play by uh coach horner to call uh 21's number so now this time you go out be a wide receiver kyle kyle we'll put london little back here now he's going to have something to do he's going to try to get up the middle he's not going to get anything out of it the ball carrier someone missed the puck mitchell that last play we had a wall of people and kyle are in the football we had a wall of people with a huge hole in that play like you said somebody missed a block and just one man can that can cause a ruckus for uh for an offense if one man misses a block shuts down your whole often so it's definitely really important for these linemen to stay on their blocks and drive their feet second down 12 from the wildcat 45 yard line doubles running back right dom looks to the left and it's going to be nearly picked two train went from being receiver to defensive back and made a great play to avoid the interception didn't get his hand on that that could have gone for uh for a pick six so great job there by uh two training to play a little defense there on a a miss miss throw there by begley salem sending one guy in third down and 12 for the eagles trips to the right side running back right dominagley's going to roll to the right side he's got ribs open and he's got a first down great job with making a catch get into the sticks getting the first down with the contact also passes complete to number 23.
yeah that's pretty nice earlier tonight we got with coach kendall and we had conversations about special teams this week something we don't always talk about coach kendall this week before the salem game coach kendall you got a two-headed monster in the backfield with all kickoffs and punts in that with uh london little and uh kyle mcconaughey how much fun is your job just getting those two guys the ball and having fun with them they make my job super easy you know it's fun to be able to put them back there and know that anytime they get that ball in their hands uh we could score a touchdown you know any any given play they got that ball they could put six on the board absolutely and then so that's a fun play yeah the not so fun play is the p-a-t that nobody really pays attention to last year with nick corner this year with wibbs not too many missed pats uh where does that start do you start that's i know that's back when you were going to college and that year that kind of guy how do you get that transformed and how do you be so successful on that you know with wibbs this year he's been doing it for four years now um that's just consistency you know it's muscle memory it's a lot like a golf shot and wibb's the easy kid to work with um he does all the work you know it's just fine tuning things fair enough our 45-minute bus ride you come off a loss last week debris central how do you get the guys going uh this week on a on a different week it's a business trip anytime you take a road trip um they're out here they're ready to go you can see it in pregame but it's just a business trip fair enough good luck on this business trip today and get the job done so we talk about having london little all the time and how great of an athlete he is you got mcconaughey back there too and like we saw last week against brie central you stack the guys on top of each other you don't give out your hand and then you kind of let those guys go be athletes and go get the football wherever the ball is kicked off in a kickoff situation yeah especially that's something that we've uh we've said the last two years with london little definitely on the kickoff return side of the ball i mean if you get him in open space he's he can do it he can pretty much do anything he can take it to the house at any time so i bet it's nice for coach kendall and coach horner to have a guy like london little and just to get the ball in his hands and see him do his magic is pretty nice absolutely and something that we always say whenever there's a uh a pat about it to be said or about to be taken good snap good hold good kick that's crucial last week we missed the first one or we didn't even go for it i believe so i mean you put yourself in a bind right there and then you put yourself in a bad spot when you have to go for two later in the game absolutely yeah so then what's our last thought today we gotta have a prediction for tonight's game yeah i'm gonna go uh 20 to seven columbia eagles i'm gonna take uh i think we're going to come out i think we're going to coach horner is going to want to sling it around a little bit so i'm thinking that's that's going to be his mindset coming in so i'm going to say 20 to 7 eagles i'm going to go 35-14 got to go with the athletes i think we're going to put up put up some points i think we might give up some points but when it boils down to it hopefully our athletes can out athlete them and get the ball down the field and see if we can get a win absolutely we're about eight minutes away from kickoff we're going to send it to a week three match up here in the cokia conference jared what do you got for your predictions are the uh the keys to the game so the keys to the game tonight definitely uh over the past few weeks we've seen as we said earlier dominic vaguely getting a lot of tackles 14 tackles leading the team in tackles this year so something coming in we definitely need our front seven to play better our front four and our three linebackers need to step up get some more tackles and just open more lanes for uh these linebackers to make plays and the other one is uh keep the salem offense off the field our defense needs to come out and get the ball in our offensive hand so we can get it in our athletes hands and let them run and go to work i agree with you there we had opportunities to get our offense back on the field last week like we said and it wasn't working for us salem coming out on the field now we got fireworks fireworks taking off from the baseball field neat little neat little twist they were supposed to have a little banner that they ran through but uh i think somebody pulled it a little hard when they were trying to stretch it took a tumble salem's going to come out green pants green tops green helmets columbia's going to come out white bottom white top white helmets as we say under the sun we will be staring into the sun usually we can't see around the walls in the press box we can't see with the sun this week pretty nice view up here though absolutely we will send it over to the salem wildcats band for the national anthem we would be back right after that ladies and going to play on friday let's move it up to thursday and you look down here to our left side there's a big goalie going all the way around the football field if they get any sort of rain they're going to have some issues down here yeah it looks like we're in a uh it's like a bowl or a pit almost but um and if you could push out of bounds you better watch an ankle because it definitely roll an ankle over there on that absolutely that left pylon back here next to us here it almost looks like it is going downhill at the very last second so like you said if somebody has to run over they're not going to be able to stop and uh get too much time there i can't prepare tonight alex i got my gloves i got my hat not not going to be uh too cold your hoodie your jacket your gloves your head i've got a long sleeve t-shirt and a police i'm a little envious of you right now yeah sun's about to go down so it's about to get a little chillier well that's enough talk about pregame football it's eagle football time 23 adam wibbenbeyer whip coming into the season getting pretty used to him just booting it into the end zone here for us and uh giving us great field position for the defense to start over whitby steps up he's going to send it left to right and he sends it deep where it looks like it will be caught and it's going to be muffed at about the goal line columbia on the good pursuit they got about the 15-yard line number two is going to get away spin around keep his feet moving and he's going to get out past the 25 yard line kickoff return we're the salem against this potent defense of the columbia eagles salem watched their film they tried to heart count right away columbia much more disciplined this week three down lineman three line for the eagles they're gonna hand the ball off to the right where they're gonna get the first down and a little bit more get to the sideline where finally number two aaron two train will bring down the running back shawn bailey after a probably 20 yard run little 28's a little quick thing i didn't i didn't expect this two outside runs outside zones to start out the game that's all they're doing running a little uh outside zone first to the left and then next next play running to the other side of the field and say let's get a first down number nine quintin purcell the quarterback 6-1-220 coming out with some size with the quarterback he's going to go under center this time doubles to the left side high formation with a tight end gonna turn around fake it to the fullback throw it to the left side going to be brought down what a great tackle by london little and another great play there by number 14 colin saigon stepping up and disrupting that play from the start and london little right there he just has a nose for the football he he saw the fake fullback dive and saw the quarterback flip it out to the left to the running back and he had a straight nose for the football flew straight down the line made a great ankle tackle [Music] in the play ball in the columbia 41.
great roll out there by uh vaguely and uh great job by wimmer to get straight right to the sticks right where he has to pick up the first down and a great outside throw where nobody else can catch it but weber by vaguely and that's going to be a first down for the eagles and another good looking drive here to start off this this second half minute and a half into the drive and we've already covered about 40 50 yards on the on the drive trips right into the boundary this time for the eagles london little in the backfield we're going to fake the hand off to london dom's going to pull try to get up the middle he's going to bust it to the outside he's got a couple blockers ahead of him and he's got enough for about a 15-yard gain in another columbia eagles first down and some of you like we've said earlier putting london little in the backfield that is a huge thing for for any defense because that is something that you have to watch out for putting london in the backfield he could run a little outside route a little flare out he could just run a little outside zone here uh off off a handoff so putting london in the backfield definitely makes it tougher for teams same formation same play for the eagles this time dom's going to get to the outside again he's going to make one man just lower his shoulder take on two three guys and now doesn't really get anything after he goes out of bounds but he put his head down with the boom he's definitely not afraid of anything that's for sure and as a sophomore that's takes a lot to stick your nose in there every play another first down for the columbia eagles brings up a first down and goal from the six yard line you look across the sideline looks to be kyle mcconaughey working with trainers right here you run a slant right here to lift the left side london's still in his running back and we're just gonna hand it off to him right up the middle he's gonna get four maybe five i don't think he's got enough for a touchdown on the same play get up on the ball you're on the same play coach horner yelling hurry up hurry up hurry up do it again run the same on the same play they didn't stop [Applause] that might be one of those where you say run the same player on the same play and just have another play backed up ready to rock it yeah or vaguely could have even pulled it there but i don't know if he would have had anywhere to run they're coming through like a freight train trips the right side this time london little is going to be the right side of the quarterback going to fake the handoff quarterback's going to keep it he's not going to get anything justin and it's going to be a gain of nothing i think i kicked the field goal here yeah go up two possessions you're up seven you're still up a touchdown kick a field goal here looks like that's what they're going to do weber and colin sagan coming out for the hold looks like we're gonna try to take this ten point lead to make it a two possession game big play here the big thing is we're not on the hash so he's got a pretty straight shot for the field goal good snap good hold kick is up and it looks to be good and it is good with a little distraction in the back yeah we have firecrackers going off over here now so that's a big play like you said puts the columbia eagles up 16-6 with eight minutes to go in the third quarter we will be back after a word from our sponsors kicking off for columbia number 23.
gonna have three down linemen they're gonna send a linebacker up close and we're gonna call him a defensive end for the purpose of it gonna hand the ball off to number 44 he's gonna go up the middle try to bend to the right side and he's gonna get popped by a defensive back we'll have to see who it is and then a swarm tackled by the rest of the defense coming in two trains and vaguely in there on the tackle and vaguely seems to be almost in every play every time i see down there and there's a tackle mate it looks like vaguely there's always there's always a white hat with number 12 on it right there so that's always good to see from a sophomore week one your dad said he wanted to bring the juice and swarm tackle it's always a good thing whenever the announcers just go a swarm of eagles they don't even know who's in the play gonna bring up a third down and four for the wildcats back to shotgun trips to the left running back to the right gonna be a bubble pass to number 22 and it's going to go over his head oh no over his head and incomplete bring up a fourth down thought it was almost a live ball but he threw it a little bit ahead of him so i don't know why they got away from the outside run there they're two straight runs and almost two straight first downs but good defense there by the eagles come up with a fourth down gonna send london little deep he's gonna be at about the 10 yard line going to be noted to say putting into the wind watch the football here too good snap going to get the punt off and it's going to be [Music] drown at the 18 and it's going to do a salem bounce and it will be down at the six yard line we will head to break where the columbia eagles offense will take over from the sixth dominic vaguely gets the start tonight the sophomore gonna take the first hand off and give it to london little who's not gonna get anything out of it nice to say london little and dominic vaguely in the backfield with kyle mcconaughey a lot of speed there in the backfield yeah definitely putting on the middle back there is definitely a big threat i think he only has three or four rush attempts this year for only 16 17 yards so definitely look for him to get the ball in his hands on the rushing attempts a lot more trips to the left side mcconaughey the pistol back going to be a straight handoff and it's going to be fumbled and it's going to be i think recovered by dom who fell on it salem looks like they're pointing there i thought wrong [Applause] can't make mistakes talk about it every week so with the fumble the wildcats will take over at about the six yard line seven yard line maybe with eight minutes and 40 seconds remaining in the first quarter of this ball game just looked like it was a fumble on the snap or on the handoff i believe getting up to the line of scrimmage yeah most likely uh just sticking it in his belly must have not clamped down on the right or had the wrong wrong arm on the on top so definitely a heartbreaker there they get the ball inside the 10 here after that fumble i think we're gonna go a little wishbone here putting everybody underneath the line of scrimmage quarterback under center gonna turn around hand it to the fullback and he's gonna get a couple of yards i don't think he's gonna get a touchdown he's gonna get about the one-yard line where he's brought down by a swarm of eagles led by oliver schroeder i think something we uh heard earlier in that interview with don vagley too said coach germain was throwing a bunch of different formations and sequences at him this week because salem comes out with a bunch of different formations that they can throw at you and run a lot of different plays now the defense has to be ready for sale i'm going to have it about the two or three yard line same formation split out to the right side quarterback under center they're going to run it the other way this time with number 34 and he's going to get in for a touchdown quick lead for the salem wildcats six nothing with 7 56 remaining in the first quarter touchdown [Applause] they're not playing with these fireworks back here they're not those are pretty loud ones red buddies always have them they always had those little ones they were just annoying those are pretty those are pretty these back here are pretty impressive looks like their quarterback is also their kicker number nine clinton purcell number nine quentin purcell is a senior kick kids no good no good we talked about it that's a big play right there now get a little bit of momentum going but you look over at the columbia sideline right now everybody's walking a lot of walking you come off a tough loss last week don't want to don't have any letdowns you got to figure out how to rebound [Applause] them [Music] a lot of room to get better this game i mean still early only what four or five minutes have gone by still get the ball back right here so uh offense needs to come out and redeem themselves in a game like this you almost want to have a guy you want to have the guy come out and you want to have him do something set the tone yeah like we just said you know a lot of guys standing around you looking in the back they're five ten yards or five six yards off the off the sideline there so want to have somebody set the tone get a big reception get a big tackle do something because all the momentum right now and all the noise is coming from right here i don't really see too much over on our side at number 28 london little kyle mechanic in london little back at the 20 yard line kicking into the wind here is purcell you got to look at that's 2 train and it's going to be a pooch kick where it's going to be caught by a columbia eagle it looks like mauldin maybe who's going to take it up to about the 39 i believe that's number 20 right yep yeah it is andrew maulding so not too bad of speed you got two train maulding mechanically and little i'll give all four of those guys a football ball oh definitely tough return offense coming back out on the field looks like uh don vega was going to stay in a quarterback with mcconaughey as his uh lone running back standing to his left for the columbia throne 49 yard line doubles for the eagles running back to vaguely's left side is mcconaughey he's going to take the snap look to the left side right away just a simple hitch caught by maulding nice move five yard route turns into 11 yard gain good for columbia eagles first down and that's just a simple hitch out there through to the outside shoulder catch the ball about five six yards downfield turn and get a couple yards now that might be coach winner right there just saying hey we're gonna go back down to basics get your first completion and let's just get this thing moving same formation this time we'll have mcconaughey be the pistol back gonna be right up the middle he's gonna get about three or four we're just going right at him right there on that player i gave the ball carrier [Music] looks like looking at the line it looks like uh they don't got too many bigger guys in us it looks like about even so up front should be a good battle of the watch london little in the slot down to the bottom with wilbermeyer mechanical pistol back gonna be another handoff up the middle he's gonna bend it to the outside do a spin move and where he's gonna get hit after a gain of three or four that spin move dangerous you're going right into somebody's running full st had a steam at you yeah that's something spinning especially with these safeties coming coming down hard downfield with their head straight down looking to make a tackle third down and two for the eagles doubles formation running back to the left going to hand the ball off nope it's going to be a fake dom's going to keep it he's going to just try to bull his way through and i think he's going to momentum should give him a first down vaguely the ball carrier tackled by wildcats number nine clinton purcell looks like they're gonna give him the first down they will move the six for the columbia eagles as dom bigly picks up a big first down there to keep the drive going for the eagles columbia wildcats 40-yard line coach warner yelling at somebody on the side or on the line of scrimmage i really couldn't hear who it was going to do a little a quick switch of the formation we're going to send london to the left side and the slot with 2 train and wibbs maulding to the right side out here by himself three down linemen for the wildcats it's going to be a toss to wibbs and another drop we've seen that a couple times this year already yeah with amir he hasn't been much of a wide receiver in the past seen him a lot of like a tight end more of a sniffer back um kind of like a jumbo guy to bring in um for more of the heavy guys but um yeah we've seen two or three drops from him this year um i mean there's still a lot still a lot of work work to be done um it's hard it's hard coming from like a lineman spot to become a skills guy so um definitely look forward to adam getting better at this position wibbs three receptions for 17 yards on the season going to hand the ball off up the middle to london little this time he's going to try to break it to the outside he's going to keep his feet moving dom's going to try to give him an extra block maybe three four yards and give yourself a little bit more of a manageable third down here [Music] and it looks like every every team we're going to run into they're going to know who number 28 is so um they're going to have at least two guys on them everywhere he goes most likely um just based off of his yards and his catches this year already i mean he's just an electric player tom's gonna take the snap gonna throw the out route here to london little who's gonna make it to about the 31 and he needed the 30.

muffed good job by the columbia eagles keeping keeping contained and not letting anything happen on the play brought down by number 11 meganson i believe he was a little slow to get up i was watching him after he kicked it he looks like he tweaked his knee a little bit after he slid on the ground on that kicking on turf is definitely kicking on grass because you got to have your footing more under you when you're in grass because you'll slip right underneath you and that turf kind of grabs your cleats better so you can kind of lunge out more but on that one he looks like he just stuck out his foot too far and slipped right on his butt doubles to the left side tight end right two wishbone look for the wildcats it's going to be a pass on the left side and it's going to be sniffed by dom couldn't get it now he's got to make up some ground and he just barely trips him up not after a 20-yard gain for the wildcats took a gamble there for a wildcat and just didn't convert looked like we were just going straight up man-to-man there and that outside receiver tried almost um what is it chop blocking on london little went low on it dominic bailey almost almost flew there uh tackled him right after he made the catch but um good job by number two caden b to get the ball and get out around the outside and pick up the first around the outside don't start singing we can talk about that in a little bit too doubles to the right side sniffer back right tight ending on the play you're gonna hand the ball off to the running back he's gonna try to go up the middle sukup says no you're not keep mitch with the ball carrier great play suck up they tried to get that edge and he was right there wouldn't let him get on the outside number 75 dawson so two years ago we made this trip up here and i told jared i said jared you're the dj today you get it boy that was that a mistake hour and 45 minutes later i didn't hear a song that i knew so today we did not let jared have the dj privileges maybe i'll get it on the way home no i don't think so no i think me and mr nickerson like the old 80s rocks that we had going oh i know there's a lot maybe i'll just turn on some red bone like price doubles to the right side going to be the same formation they're looking deep two trains going to be there two trains gonna have to make a play and he doesn't salem makes the play and it's going to be a late hit after the fact tucker out of bounds by columbia number two emeritus 2 train just gets beat right there and makes the tackle out of bounds by three yards and it's going to be an extra yardage on the play for the wildcats and there when you're a corner uh i i know what it's like whenever uh you're a little shorter than you're the receiver i've been on that's that straw on that side of the straw and um getting beat like that over your head and then you do when something like that happens you really don't know where you are on the field because you're so focused on the ball and you're one receiver so him him just making that tackle there out of bounds he probably didn't really know where he was at on the field so they caught a late hit there at 15 yards onto the two train being pretty hard on himself right here and he can hear coach jermaine saying london talk to him london talk to him good job by the senior going over there and getting control a little confusion there by the eagles defense they get set the way they want to salem changes their formation up doubles the left side going to be a handoff right up the middle not going to get anywhere once again maybe number 65 for the eagles rc 88 65 owen brewer said his name a couple games yeah a couple times tonight at that defensive end position yeah he had that big play earlier on that screen pass that was uh you can't do anything good why not go for two there salem coach arguing uh running into the kicker but no call and eagles are still up four huge play there now it's still a two position two possession gets popped on the play not a bad not a bad ball just quick and right there adam but a good play by the salem defense there yeah look like just three straight verticals right there uh man-to-man coverage wanted to take it to the field and safety was sitting right there made a good play and the other safety came across to train's face and popped him right in the mouth i like that play too we've shown that we've moved the football so you take a chance there brings up a third and six manageable for this offense and these athletes here gonna fake the handoff to mcconaughey dom's gonna keep it he's gonna bust it to the outside he needs to get up field and he does touchdown he's going to keep his feet moving he's going to spin he's going to get close he's going to short at the one shorter the one exactly the ball carrier not even inside the one good play by dom there busting it to the outside keeping his feet moving they are chatting though salem coach fumble calling a fumble into the end zone which will be a touch back what where the salem offense will take over didn't see that i did not see that at all now two fumbles for the columbia eagles one inside your own five yard yeah i don't even think we've seen one pass attempt yet from salem so um definitely stepping up a little bit um i know that first drive wasn't really it was kind of tough to stop stop him inside the 10-yard line so but we're seeing a pretty pretty better job than last week of uh from this run game three minutes to go in the first quarter columbia trails it six nothing shalem going to have a quick pass play to the right side and it's going to be caught and missed a tackle by number 28 london little another missed tackle but finally taken out of bounds after about 10 yards and good for salem wildcat first down for a wildcat first down that was just a simple little bubble route to the right side two rad receivers blocking for uh for that for that receiver getting the ball and turns up field gets about eight nine yards for a first down if salem's trying to keep the ball out of the columbia eagles offense hands they're doing a great job like we said earlier we need to get our offense back onto the field salem absolutely winning the time of possession right now shotgun for salem they're going to hand the ball off they're going to run up the middle going to get a good nine yards before getting brought down by number 20 andrew malding i believe on the tackle attack by columbia number 28 for my prediction all i need is 20 points and i'll be uh help you right on that's all you away but i think it's going to be good for a wildcat first down tackle by columbia number 65 owen brewer not before you guys are you listen to these salem coaches they just start screaming out names i don't know i guess everybody knows what's going on they're just screaming last names and guys are running on and off first and ten for the wildcats from their own 43-yard line leading the eagles six to nothing after the columbia fumble inside their 10-yard line made it quick and easy for salem to score the first touchdown doubles to the left side fullback left gonna be a quick pass play gonna be a little hitch to number two brought down after a five six yard gain by dominic vaguely tackled by this quarterback looks pretty good on his read so far in this game um he's going through the ball probably three times now with that was probably the first pass he's thrown down field the other two probably uh screen passes to his right left side but um all of his reads have been looked to be pretty nice reading each linebacker on the outside zones and pulling it whenever he wants so he can put his head down and run so quarterback for salem looking like he uh he knows what he's doing three down lineman schroeder comes over to the right side with the tight end gonna fake gonna be a bootleg to the right side gonna have a man wide open at number 22.
it's going to be good for columbia's first down regardless looks like we just ran a nice little snag route right right behind the linebacker linebacker's supposed to cover hook the curl which covers about five yards behind him and in front of him so looks like uh two train found a little spot to just settle down vaguely got the ball in there gonna fake the handoff he's gonna go to the right side is dominic vaguely who's gonna make a couple men miss he's gonna juke he's gonna move he's gonna get in for another columbia eagles touchdown eagles touchdown columbia great fake there by vaguely put it in uh who was that mcconaughey's belly to fake the defensive lineman going one way pull the ball go back the other way for a great run in for a touchdown puts the eagles up 22-12 22-12 for the eagles with one minute to go in the third quarter really quiet webb's waiting for the snap patiently good snap good hold kick is up and it is absolutely boomed that one almost he almost kicked that out of the stadium almost in someone's backyard so that puts the eagles up 23-12 we need that on the kickoff now yeah we do no slips this time whippy don't let up do not let up you're up 23-12 with a minute left in this third quarter if you can have a good defensive possession here defense come out on the field and get a quick stop get the ball back in your offensive hands and you can make a lot of good things happen when you're up two scorers with the ball in your hands columbia's ready to go and salem's not even on the field yet as they're starting to come out now momentum has definitely shifted doesn't really feel like it though you don't i mean we have the momentum they got their heads down over here on this side but columbia is not really uh letting you know that we have the momentum cat's number two caden b number 22.

second down to 22 from the eagles eight gonna hand the ball off to mcconaughey he's just gonna go right up the middle put his head down he's gonna gain a couple that's going to bring up a third down and 12. that's a heck of a lot better than third down to 22. here we are yeah smart smart there by coach hunter just keep it on the keep it on the ground um don't want to force anything here not don't want to force another turnover inside inside their red zone to where they could have an easy score again um but yeah set sets up a nice third third and 13 instead of a third and 23. trips to the left side running back left salem gonna have three down linemen they're gonna send a linebacker on a blitz dom's looking deep to wibbs he's got wibbs wibb's got a first down and then some keep yourself moving wibbs hey remember when we said you didn't make too many catches earlier in the game you needed that one and we got a good job adam wiblemire well yeah with that too you have london little who's occupying two defensive guys because just just how good he is and how explosive he can be um throwing throwing him out as a decoy like like we just did there just running a little bubble route made a little space for adam webmeyer to get right in a little seam and for vaguely to throw a nice pass in there good for 30 yards in the first down we're going to hand the ball off this time with mcconaughey he's going to get stopped up by number 28 london little and schroeder just got caught up in each other and stopped the play before he even really got started i like that play though called on coach hoyner's part didn't seem to be a safety when i looked at the last second i don't know if they're just doing a man-free kind of deal or what the deal was but no safety in the field and i'd like to see us take a little more shots down deep field especially with dominic vaguely's arm that he has yeah also seen a little bit a little bit more of a tempo here with the eagles after that last last uh play there by webenmire and then that run there to the right gonna be doubles just gonna be quick hitches it's gonna be an out route by little who's gonna get nine maybe ten just a quick here on this 20-yard line and heavy heavy is pretty tough to stop whenever you have more guys on the right side than more guys on the left side and you just run straight power i mean it's pretty hard to not just get a yard i think in my opinion i mean but yeah i think i think you just run power to the right side with uh mechanically you're running little and just get a yard and keep your drive moving and it's not like we're trying to fool anybody by what's happened i think heavy's had the same five main plays yeah for the last 15 years so you watch your film you know what's coming but like you said whenever you just got to get a yard and you line it up the way we line up you should be able to get your yard especially when you've had more power running backs in the past like charles ferris colton bird john heineken i can name a few but um this heavy this heavy stuff for a running back like that is huge heavy we're going to go blast right up the middle to mcconaughey good for eight yards they blew it dead already picked first down for the eagles good job they're getting eight yards getting the first down that would have would not have been a fumble though or a down london the down marker they got him he's probably going to be switching at the fourth because he had it on third looks like so third down and one let's see if he's got it figured out last play was third down third down to two it's third down two to go three down linemen for the wild cats but they're right up front on top of the ball three linebackers as well trips to the left side for the eagles we're going to hand it off right up the middle is mcconaughey and he's going to get enough yards for the first down now mcconaughey the ball carrier keep the drive moving jared yeah that's all you can do i mean we've seen it uh if i were coach horner right now i would have my heavy in there still um you've seen they've only ran two or three plays and they've got four or five yards out of each play so um if i were coach horner i'd keep running the ball if not heavy i'd keep running the ball if it's with mcconaughey or london little um this drive looks a lot better than our previous drives offensive line looks to be working a lot harder and getting to their blocks a lot easier absolutely i like this drive that we've got going on doubles running back left going to be a pass to the lift london deep into the corner now dom's going to have to scramble he's got the right side he's going to get to the sideline he's going to keep his feet moving that ain't a late hit what colombia is still wanting some extra tackling going on in the sideline 21 brexit took a shot to the head too dom's not afraid to go out there he ain't he's going to put his head down and he's going to make some plays got to protect all your players though always going to bring up a second down and two eight minutes 20 seconds remaining in the first half columbia still trailing six nothing here in salem yeah london had his arms flailing over here in the corner on that last play i'd like the same play again we're going to hand it off up the middle though it's going to be pulled by big bubbles fakes the bubbler out keeps a speaker good for eight yards matt cripp let him know what's the first down over there big guy we gave kripp some trouble last week had a muddy ball was like 10 20 yards down the field waving his tile around the officials wanted a ball he was nowhere to be seen that's something you don't see a lot from matt crippled oh he's always usually right on top of it well he's spoiled now he got the turf he's not houston that's what coach germain was saying he goes you're you're spoiled you don't have to worry about muddy ball anymore first hit goal for the eagles but like you saw there on that last play vaguely did a great job of uh faking that bubble route to force that linebacker to go out with the wide receiver and cut up field to get a first down calls a timeout and just a little quick pump fake out of dominic was able was enough to just throw the play off a little bit and that's what you're seeing a lot with a lot more like college and even nfl teams now more mobile quarterbacks um over the over the past couple years you've seen a lot of running quarterbacks come into the league like i just think quarter quarterback styles are changing every every year and you're not really going to find a lot of pocket pocket passers anymore that are just going to sit in the pocket and sling it around with a strong arm you're going to see i feel like you're going to see a lot more power running back quarterback types two tandem quarterbacks that um that has really taken over the game that that can really have a big big impact on the game yeah the days of the tom brady and peyton manning's of just sitting back there and dissecting you all the way down the field are over yeah that's something nice to see with the columbia quarterbacks i mean you got two tandem quarterbacks like mclaren i mean you've seen him he's put up great numbers already this year with a perfect pass rating in week one had 200 passing yards last week um and vaguely can do it on the ground first down and goal from the eagles from the 10 yard line gonna be another arrow right to london little he's going to catch it and get up field he's going to get in for columbia eagles touchdown out of the timeout i love that you come out of a timeout and say hey this is what we're going to do you get it done that's one of the we we've probably seen that play three or four times already tonight uh two london little i bet you he's already got at least eight nine touches in this game um great great play call there by coach horner to just get it out of vagley's hands quick and get it in your best players hands for a touchdown london little with a sixth touchdown on the year everybody else has four combined on the season columbia number 23.
