the total debt service associated with this would be about 2 million um and uh we are planning to structure this with level Debt Service next slide please um I believe the district is already familiar um with the legal framework with the lease and cops since the district has a well-managed um Authority already in place but I did want to show this diagram here given that a lease or cop financing um both of those are not voter approved there is this legal construct that we use um which is a little bit more complicated than what we have for a Geo Bond um essentially This legal structure allows The Debt Service payments to be categorized as lease payments this is a really established legal framework that is used by public entities throughout California and in fact this is the same legal framework that was used in some of the districts prior cop financing next slide please um so this is the these financing schedule we are providing this presentation to the board tonight um we will then start soliciting uh responses proposals from potential lenders the board will consider a resolution authorizing the bond issuance or lease financing on October 6th um and shortly thereafter A lender will be selected and we are aiming to close um in late October to coincide with the um timing of the purchase property purchase thank you are there any questions from the board for makiko I just want to note how extremely positive financially are earlier Bond sales have been and I think we have with uh the way we have used the money to improve our schools really uh reinforced our commitment to the community to do the very best we can so this seems like a very workable situation and not having to go to an election expense seems really a big savings so yes I'm in favor is there any public comment Kelly that we are aware of there's no public comment on this item thank you this is informational only um I don't think mat Keiko friend hear us but thank you and that was that was uh informative at least we know what we're doing thank you yes yes texture thank you okay our next our next uh item is human resources elimination of classified services Mr Hanlon okay so I'm looking for approval of resolution 1550-21 elimination of two positions locksmith and instructional paraprofessional just a note on the locksmith position if you look at our new buildings they're not locking key anymore they're electronic locks so the old-time locksmith is slowly becoming obsolete and this this particular gentleman retired so and looking for somebody who can do both and as we move into the future we expect all of our locks to become electronic and also tie into our security system which is our cameras we need a different skill set so a new job description was created and and that position was hired and this one has become obsolete so we're asking to eliminate that okay board questions I'll move that we approve this resolution I'm going to ask if there's any Public public comment hold on Kelly anything there's no public coming up okay thank you now Mr tennis briefly say I think it's cool that we had a locksmith yeah that was cool and this is the passing of an era so yeah you know I'd like to give a shout out to all the locksmiths who are out there watching our meeting tonight on uh on YouTube and we will continue to have one so the the placement can do both but um has the the other skill level of being able to uh program our electronic clocks which saves us a great deal of dollars when Keys get lost and you have to re-key an entire site all you got to do is change the code very easy yeah well our locksmith that retired before you got here Mr Hanlon Robin George lives right behind me I'll tell him his position has been upgraded it's been upgraded made obsolete okay upgrading is probably the nicer we have emotion Mr tennis is there a second yes me oh okay thank you Dr Kaiser any further discussion no okay all those in favor I just had a question because I didn't even get to ask a question earlier um just a clarification question for Jim um uh so the locksmith is a position that that person retired so it's not like somebody's about to lose their job correct in both these positions but that's was my question we make every effort to never bring you something unless the position is already vacant so so the instructional para CHS is vacant currently right yes thank you thank you okay board are we ready to vote okay all those in favor of um approving this uh layoff resolution number 1550-21 signify by saying I I and he knows okay thank you board the vote was unanimous foreign Mr Hanlon is also for another elimination of Services Under classified resolution number 1551-21 so a little explanation on this one you recently hired Jaclyn Krueger to be our next assistant superintendent so she vacates the position of business manager when she was hired she was hired as director of fiscal services so Our intention is to replace the director of fiscal Services which is a lower level position and business manager so that will continue to be on our salary schedule in case that person reaches the skill level of our new superintendent assistant superintendent but we anticipate that we'll start out the new person as director of fiscal services slightly lower position any questions Ford hearing none I'm ready for a public comment there's no public comment no public comment I'm ready for a motion board I moved 10.3.2 well second I have a motion Dr Kaiser a second from Member dalby all those in favor signify by saying aye aye any any knows okay we were we were unanimous thank you board okay quickly while everything is already still up and running um this next item is our second uh meeting and public hearing and informational on our inflammation of district-based Elections uh superintendent Staley yes as president Robinson mentioned this is our second public hearing on the California voters right act we will have a brief presentation uh by Rob Murray from Team Consulting and then we do have two uh speakers on this item not needed I was watching YouTubers stage up here so there will be about a 10 15.
all right uh board president Robinson thank you for this opportunity to be here tonight for this incredibly important process of gathering public input on the community's ideas and priorities for creating trustee areas this hearing is all ultimately all about what the community has to say tonight so I'd like to move straight to the hearing with your leave okay we do have uh you'll need to open the public hearing and we do have people folks that are attending remotely and Phil Morgan will reach out and call them okay I'm going to be calling Carl Ochsner they are also watching the live stream so they'll hear from the live stream foreign ER I'm a former cusd parent and a former grandparent my granddaughter graduated from Pleasant Valley in 2018.
I was looking on the website and the agenda a little earlier this week and I was actually looking for see if there were any plans for special help for for kids who are behind in math and reading and while I was doing that I found the the a lot happening with this district election excuse me changes to uh to a disc based election item 1041 so I wanted to let you know that I would support creating districts that reflect different regions of our city and outlying areas and I see that as as a great way to get more Grassroots involvement at the neighborhood level and maybe even get some folks to step forward get more involved with what's happening with the school district and maybe even a volunteer to run for election as school board members which would be a good thing um I think people you've got to approach it as these things being set up for the future so I really encourage you not to be thinking about defining the new districts to protect or exclude the seed of any current board member because we need to be thinking 10 20 30 years down the road here um we've been doing a lot with our rotary club with the local elementary schools and it really seems to me that if those districts could be cohesive and clustered around maybe existing elementary school catchment areas I realize that's not always possible because you had 12 elementary schools and only five board seats but to the extent that that could be done and I would suggest that you're not worried too much about average family income or ethnic composition those should be considered secondary and subordinate and I think focusing again on Geographic and neighborhood considerations um it's real important to get more people and I think a greater variety of parents and local citizens to take more of an interest in what's going on with the school district and it just seems to me like having their own representative from their part of town being able to interact with their neighbors Etc um that that's a great argument for going to discs that are again you know kind of the pie wedge map and and maybe clustered around existing neighborhoods Geographic areas elementary schools I want to thank you very much for letting me speak to this and wish you all the best thank you Madam president I'm going to be calling Charles Dexter voicemail thank you okay um Kelly did you want to run through the um the action schedule for what we're doing or what what's next um I'll go ahead and turn that back over to Rob to go through that okay can he hear us probably okay yes and I apologize if there has been some delay since I can only hear you through the live stream but uh yes so uh having taken in the public input from the last two public hearings uh we are now merely awaiting for the release of all of the census data which actually might be as soon as tomorrow but is guaranteed to be by the end of the month uh and at which point I can begin in earnest uh composing those initial trustee area maps uh those will then be posted to the district website uh with enough advance of the next meeting uh which is scheduled for later in October such that the community will have time to process all of those thank you uh so yes by October 20th uh we will then formally present those to the board but the community and the board will have had the opportunity to review those so that we can hear again and put on those maps and then have that opportunity uh to gauge how well they are meeting the expectations of the community in terms of Meeting those priorities criteria and goals that have been identified we need to close the public hearing so I'm going to officially close the public hearing and um is that the end of Rob's okay that's the end of the Rob's presentation uh board members do you have any questions okay our next meeting on this topic as I mentioned is October 20th and that will be the presentation of the draft area maps and did I hear correctly that the information will be populated into the system the new census data by then yeah okay thank you madam president yes I do have a question yes um speaker mentioned and yes that is correct uh well we I can't say exactly when but there will be definitely some significant lead time before that October 20th meeting when those initial maps are available for review before they're formally presented and discussed the speaker um commenter mentioned possibly utilizing School boundaries um to Aid in creating the new districts I would be curious to see that map included with any materials or raw materials if you will that that we or the subcommittee will be looking at to to build because I like that idea too I I think that if a school can be contained District can be contained within you know uh a trustee District I think that that makes yeah a curious sense if you look at what was created last time with the old sentence since census we were able to at least group a couple of elementaries and Junior highs and Senior highs into you know the the district so it it does work to some extent but because we're limited to keeping them balanced at about fourteen thousand voters per District if I'm not mistaken it gets a little tricky but that was one of the main goals was keeping those Elementary School communities you know together in one targeted District it was a it was a main goal but you say there were only two schools that no that actually worked I misunderstood you no if you go on the uh cusd website and look at the maps that were created last time last time you were afraid of 2020 or you're referring to 19 Once Upon a Time no just before we got shut down in covid in March of 2019 yeah and they were presented at the last yeah it was presented at the last meeting before we we shut down and everything got put on hold but they no they were reviewed at the last meeting that Mr tennis wasn't able to attend because he was at his other at the commission meeting that's what happened our our last meeting I just wanted to declare on whether you're referring to oh no funny maps versus yeah 2020 yeah the most recent like districting Maps were from the 2020 presented these folks presented on that last time last time we met two weeks ago and they are so it's in the it's in the agenda minutes if you want to go back and look at those maps that were presented to us then so will we have a map of the elementary schools it's all overlaid yes the School boundaries and everything were overlaid I think the the last board selected um three or four different criteria and we came up with districts in different colors to fit those criteria and and you you overlay that right on top of the um of the the School boundaries and you can you could see it's it's on the district website but we can also provide oh yeah that's that's also but yet we did overlay it over the School boundaries okay any other um information that you'd like uh let's see the um the hearing on draft maps and things again uh the feedback and selecting criteria on how we go about that is part of this ongoing process like uh the last board did pull up things like of course the ethnic makeup of the community the um uh neighborhood identities yes neighborhood identities um a number of different criteria and we can we can keep those criteria change them add to them expand them it's you know it's all going to happen in the in the process of setting those those Maps any other information okay this is uh informational only we'll be back and and as Rob said the information should be to us well in front of the October 20th meeting okay before you move off this yeah I am scanning the background materials for the presentation and I don't see a map in here of the elementary schools am I missing something yeah from the last meeting oh it was now there's a map in there that that was created that utilized boundaries so they didn't actually and the apologies if this is coming in a little delayed and possibly interrupting someone who's speaking after I could hear the live stream but I do just want to acknowledge that in the previous go around specifically looking at elementary overlays was not one of the high priorities and so that was not on the maps that were published but I can absolutely include Elementary boundary overlays with a summary of how many elementary schools are entirely contained within a trustee area or which ones are split and by what percentage as part of the analysis that accompanies all of the initial map options thank you Rob he's like uh trustee tennis is happy with them um and I would add since since we're hearing from members of the public that that is an important criteria that um we certainly want to we'd certainly want to include that to the extent possible thank you Paul that was Paul recognized yeah um okay our next item on the agenda uh is discussion action public appointment assistant superintendent for business services Kelly Staley yes we would like to present to the board a let me grab this real quick Jacqueline do you have a copy of your contract so we are presenting to the board a contract for Jacqueline Krueger to serve as assistant superintendent for business services the term would be September 1 2021 through and including June 30th and we are required to report out the salary that would be on the contract to be approved by the board and that number is 392 dollars and it's a three-year contract it would be a three-year contract yes thank you um do you have any questions board do we have any public comment we have no public comment thank you oh Dr Kaiser I just want to say that um the search for the appropriate candidate for assistant soup for business services was thorough and involved and uh I think they've done an excellent job Jacqueline has been a Mainstay for our business services for a number of years and I think we're really lucky to have gotten her as our final candidate so thank you Jacqueline thank you Dr Kaiser I I'm ready for a motion to approve the hiring of Jacqueline Krueger ISO move is there a second oh second that I have a motion from Dr Kaiser a second for Mr Lando um no further discussion all those in favor signify by saying I I I I and I want to say that I would have made the motion too just so you know yes you people are getting slow with your buttons okay that vote was unanimous thank you Jacqueline thank you yes and congratulations okay next public employment superintendent so also on the agenda is a contract addendum for the position of superintendent my position and that is a one-year extension a copy of it is included in the board agenda um and it would extend it through 2024. thank you superintendent Staley do we have any public comment we do not okay thank you board are we ready for a motion ISO moved 10.4.3 the extension of the contract of superintendent Kelly stay Leaf by one year to 2024.
do we have a second you were I'll second all that oh yes Caitlin thank you uh uh Ms dalby um we have any further board discussion seeing none all those in favor aye aye aye thank you that's unanimous thank you Kelly for putting up with us okay um items from the floor agenda item number 11 do we have any I have no items from the floor okay um uh number 12 board members that have topics that they would like to bring forward for the consideration at Future meetings anyone have a burning desire thank you board okay as I um indicated we may needed May needed oh my goodness I need another cupcake um the board is going to go back into closed session we didn't finish in our first session we do not anticipate being very long and we will come out and announce any actions taken during our second closed session so we are recessed again into closed session thank you the board has been in closed session we have no actions to report out and the meeting is now adjourned
hello chris cooper here superintendent of clearwater schools with a brief update it's been a great week we've kind of hit our stride here with school going and lots of good things going on i'll get to a coveted update and then we'll get to some real work of education so currently like i said we've had a good week with covet as well we've had three we currently have three students out that are covered positive we have one staff out who's covered positive and we have one class in mass with our protocol that we've been using we have been doing daily tests we've done over 150 daily tests for students who are close contacts at school to keep those students in school so we've generated a lot of student contact days by being able to do that in the mornings with specific students we currently have 15 students out for some sort of quarantine and that would be 11 that are household close contacts so if you are in a house that has a coveted positive we're not allowed to do the daily test to keep you in school so you do have to be out on quarantine so that's 11 of our 15 and then we have four students out with some sort of covet-like sys symptoms i mentioned testing just to review we unless we call you um you're not eligible for uh covered testing to remain in school so that would be just for students who are close contacts at school that we can do the daily testing and keep in school if that number exceeds 50 or so students we'll probably have to look at some other means to try to maintain kids in school so overall people might be asking what is our process so um if we once we have a covered positive student we do contact racing we look at those numbers we contact all of those parents if it's in a pre-k 3 class our practice has been to mask that class throughout the rest of that quarantine period they actually go to elementary east a different playground to play they have typically isolated bathrooms and things so we try to separate in case there's any further cases there we're limiting the spread of that initial case at the middle and high school level it's a little different in that we tried a daily test but again once that number if that number reaches a number that we can't test then we would have to look at mass considerations there to keep students in school throughout that quarantine period so i mentioned getting to the work of education it's been a great week this week for other reasons as well the board on monday night started looking at community input from a couple of long-range planning meetings so we're in the process of building a five to seven year plan for our district really deciding what's important and what are we going to focus our energy funds and resources towards the other thing that's happened in the last couple of weeks is we have screened every student k through 12 in reading to see if there's any deficits we're also working on math not sure where exactly that's at in the process we have other people working on that but we're working to make sure that every student has the skills they need to be successful at whatever level they're at we also have homecoming this week you may have seen some toilet paper that's not necessarily a school sponsored event but if there were issues with that feel free to reach out to us we'll try to keep those from happening in the future we had a pep rally a bonfire last night over at the high school we have a pep rally this afternoon with lots of people coming there so it's fun to have those normal activities back in place so as we look forward to next week back to coba i'll just encourage people to make sure that we don't send six students students who are sick to school i think that's helped us get some of our numbers down from where they were at the first of the year so reach out to the nurses the principals to me we'll try to walk you through the process if you have any coffee covered questions just a reminder next friday there is no school we've got fall fest coming up and on friday we will have a teacher in service day no students at school on friday september 24th as i always like to end um clearwater is a great place i feel blessed to be here in my second year as superintendent and i again want to encourage us to all come together when challenges face us and not divide apart unfortunately i've seen some other communities very near to us have a lot of division and a lot of things that they're shouldn't be having to deal with because we can't all come together and overcome anything that that comes our way so as i always say just assume positive intent everybody's doing the darn best that they can at the moment we'll assume the same of everybody we encounter that's all i have for today come out to the homecoming game tonight at football at our football stadium if you're able to we'd love to see you there take care you
so [Music] gentlemen and welcome to another exciting week of ihsa football here from charles rage field in wonderful roxanna illinois we have week four match up here between the columbia eagles and the roxanna shells first time coming together in the regular season played each other twice in the postseason but got a new conference opponent a new conference game and we're coming to you live here from outside the press box for the first time something we've talked about doing and that we wanted to do and we're making it happen tonight here alex schlemmer and jared germain jared beautiful night here in roxanna and a great night for a football game yeah it is and they got their their new turf this year looking pretty nice they got a nice facility here in roxanna so i'm ready for columbia to come in and keep keep up the good work like they uh like they did last week this is a beautiful complex we got here like you said brand new turf you're looking at all the concrete work around the concession stand the entrance they did yeah they got the turf soccer field over here as well so they did a heck of a job here and this uh this could be a good atmosphere you're looking across the way there at roxanna sideline they got a bunch of people here tonight and uh it's gonna be exciting starting with a new conference opponent coming off last week eagles flew high while those explorers are still exploring for that first victory columbia with a great game last week went in 48 to 14 and really dominated the game from start to finish yeah it all started up front the guys up front played really well they were moving they were running their feet and all we had to do was just give our athletes space to to run i mean you had kyle mcconaughey with 97 yards and three touchdowns had a pick six right before half that made us had the running clock right before halftime so on the defensive side of the ball looked really well too so overall a really good win to get to get one in the books uh for this year coach warner told us he said you know we talked in the holton meets coach's corner he goes we're gonna start in a hurry and he didn't lie three plays first three plays of the game three first downs 30 yards of offense i think we had a seven yard gain and then another first down so four of your first five plays going for a first down get in the end zone it does a it's a great job there and i hope that you can do it again tonight whenever you got somebody like your line grant matheny getting the snap started we've talked about them a lot good job getting the snaps back there in the line last week really stepped up to the challenge coach warner challenged them said hey boys we need more time we need to be able to run the football and they did a great job with that yeah they did and up front like i said uh they just all you got to do up front is just give those athletes a little bit of space to work mcconaughey vaguely meganson all they need is a little bitty crease and they can make any play they want and i think that's really really good for coach hoyner's offense because if you have a couple guys that can do a lot of different things that puts defenses in a tough situation and that's something we hadn't seen in the first couple weeks we didn't we didn't do too much that uh we're used to seeing out of the columbia columbia teams but you know and there were there was much more emotion too in that in that game last week you saw guys on the sideline getting more excited you saw whenever there was a big play um you saw guys coming over giving pats on the helmet whenever guys were scoring touchdowns so it was just a great overall win last week and i'm hoping we can keep it going on the offensive side of the ball and you look at it right there on that replay you got three guys helping get a guy off the field so that's cool getting around each other so i absolutely offensively did what they needed to do defensively hold the team under 50 yards of offense whenever the starters are going at it that's pretty impressive too and in that first half they maybe had one first down i don't even know if they had one first down in that first half so coach germain did make some adjustments last week moving vaguely and mcconaughey up from the safety position putting them kind of more in a linebacker position so they're more in the mix a little bit um those guys more kind of have more of a nose for the football than a lot a lot of the guys we got on the defensive side of the ball but um putting up 41 points and giving up zero i mean i'll take that any week absolutely in the first half yeah first half yeah i don't know if we scored really in the second half but you know you're gonna need that again tonight we're gonna see we'll talk a little bit more here in a little bit but you're gonna see running again from the roxanna shells so you're gonna need that out of your uh your linebackers now they're gonna have to make some plays and you know somebody we talked about a lot last weekend brandon jackson the southmoor he's not afraid to go stick his nose in there but then he can drop back in coverage too yeah we saw that a lot last week a lot of these linebackers are known to uh play a little hook to curl and they got to be able to run a little bit with the amounts of passes that we that we face every week so brandon jackson got his nose in there a little bit and was uh making some plays last week so it was good to see him get his name in there and hopefully we see a couple new guys uh get their name called out tonight and obviously you got owen brewer guy does it week in and week out you can't say enough about the kid he's in the backfield he's making tackles down field he's going to have a tall task ahead of him you look at the uh guys out here for roxanna they got some pretty good size tonight too hey we finally we can hear the we get the ball first we got we we finally know who's getting the ball first that's the first i think in three years that we've done this we missed the coin toss every time thanks to this guy over the pa that's giving us the heads now we're gonna have to remember that whenever the game gets going so that's enough about last week i mean did what we had to do 48-14 starters were out of the game when we gave up those two touchdowns so it was a dominant game but like we said after the two big losses you get to celebrate your wins for the day then you got the next week so we're gonna head to a break we'll come back after this and we will be here for week four action in the aces wild pregame show after this [Music] wide receivers are number 11 drew meganson number four welcome back to the aces wild pregame show presented by aces wild video game and parlor coming to you live from charles rage field in roxanne illinois jared we've talked about it a couple of times new conference this year and the kokia conference now has large medium and small division and we welcome roxanne into the kokia conference now yes we do and they got their first win i don't think uh in conference but um this will be their first time playing most of these teams in this conference so we're looking to see a lot of different things that coaches can throw at us so i always like having a new team on the schedule because she just opens up so many new things for your team so i'm pretty excited to see this one so we talk a little bit about the play tonight columbia is going to obviously be here in roxanna but you're going to have freeberg at breed central and that is i could probably consider that to say one of the biggest games of the conference yeah that might be the uh the preview of the cahokia conference championship or at least a share of it we play both those teams later in the year but that's going to be a fun game to watch and i'll be interested to see if anybody could send us in any scores on that one oh i'll be looking for them and then you go right down the road you got east alton wood river is going to salem the oilers and the wildcats again another big one salem's going to be there every year they're going to put up some points they're going to put up some good competition so east alton is going to have their hands full with them tonight yes they will and i think roxanna is going to have their hands full with us tonight too because i think uh this hour bus ride can be tough for some teams but i think coach hoyner and coach germain will have these guys ready and roxanna's should gonna have a tough one coming look at the standings right now salem up top two and one breeze central two and one they got beat last week freebird got beat last week as well at two and one they got beat by truster and then you look at the bottom three columbia wood river roxanna all one and two so pretty good to see there's a lot of equality there in the standings anybody can play anybody anybody can beat anybody and that's something we haven't seen lately and right there just looking at that you can see there's gonna be a lot of two and two teams this week so um if we win this game we'll be two and two they win they'll be two and two central and freeberg both ways so um overall the kokia conference is looking very strong this year and we're looking for some good games all throughout the season i'm excited about it and you look at the past with columbia and roxanna now like we said it's the first time that the two teams have played in the regular season played two other times back in 2002 in the 4a playoffs columbia went to roxanna to play got beat 14 nothing you look at the stat sheet back then columbia dominated the stat sheet however roxanna scored the points and that's all that matters now you go back to two years ago in the first round of the playoffs roxanna came up to us we ended up winning that game 56-28 and that was one of those games jared that just kind of it was a lot like two weeks ago i guess it was or last week with all the penalty flags and it was just a game that you couldn't get a flow but we got out of there with a victory i think that was uh the game bieber had three or four touchdowns that game and he kind of just put the team on his back but um yeah roxanna what does that say two and four in that spring last year so they're looking uh to be have a better squad this year and have a winning record and we'll see if they can get on the equal side tonight but eagles are looking for that second win tonight too to get on that equal side so i guess uh we should see a good one tonight i talked to coach kendall the night before the game and uh sorry coach kendall i'll apologize now i had my my hand on the phone i forgot to hit the record button so he's gonna come by trying to look for his interview and that's on me i forgot to hit the button but i asked him i said hey you know you had a big game last week how do you come back and get another big night and uh he said you know it's just gonna have to be what happened so he's gonna get it done and we're gonna head to the national anthem we'll be right back after this snuck up on us [Music] [Applause] and now ladies and gentlemen sneaky national anthem there so coach kendall just said he's going to have to get the guys ready to go again so uh offensively i asked him again i said you know are we going to start off hot like we did last week and he goes you know i talked to my special team guys first because you know it starts and ends with you guys so he said that they're going to get down there they're going to fly around and we're going to look to start just as fast as we did last week defensively i said how are you going to stop another offense to just 50 yards again he goes well you want to set your sides high but that's pretty awesome night he goes so we're just going to have to go out and do what we do and i think the coaches are going to have them ready to go for that yeah and some we haven't really seen all year is something big happen on the special teams kick return kick off a fumble a kick return touchdown so tonight i'm looking for a big special teams play to kind of get the team going and i'm hoping coach kendall can get those guys ready and they can put one on the board and mcconaughey he always gets everything going i mean he's he's going to break one he's going to do it he's he gets there he's getting those 30-40 yard runs so be excited to see him just break one open he needs it he needs it so what do you got your prediction for tonight what are you going to think this outcome is going to be i'm going to take the eagles 35-13 i think they're going to come out come out ready i think the offense is going to come out fire power and i think don vagel is going to have a big game tonight i think i'm going to go a little bit more i'm going to go 49-6 oh okay i'm going to go for another running clock we got josh turner in town i want that running clock i want to get home i want to see that concert i want to see songs for soldiers so i hear you coach warner coach jermaine i got no pressure on you guys tonight but uh we need a running clock here tonight yeah i'm hoping so too well we're eight minutes away now from kickoff i think we're gonna head to our final break and we will come to you live from roxanna thank you for listening into the aces wild pregame show presented by aces wild video game and parlor [Music] god [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show where we're where we are four minutes away from kickoff in this week four matchup between the eagles of columbia and the shells from roxanna both teams coming in tonight at a one and two record columbia offensively a little bit better scoring 22 points a game to roxanna's 18 and both teams both giving up 35 points a game so who's going to ben don't break tonight here jared oh i mean i think our offense is still going to be able to put up some points so um i think that they're going to break tonight i think we're going to come out and start slinging it around we haven't really seen vaguely come out throwing the ball a lot this year if we can get some time up front from our front guys maybe we can see him use his arm a little bit tonight a new segment here we're going to do tonight on this date september 17 2016 the eagles traveled to westland where they beat the warriors 44-13 and one thing that uh jared laughed at right away colton byrd 19 carries for 176 yards not too bad whenever your running backs average in a first down by himself yeah that guy uh one of the greatest running backs i've ever seen with my own eyes but um i remember that game i think it was my junior year we went up there on a saturday because friday night it got rained out went up there and beat weston on a saturday eagles finished 10-1 that year who did we lose to in the playoffs do you remember was that with the uh marquette or not marquette no fears no i who did we oh yeah it was canton that was a good that was a that was when they came to town and yeah we were up two touchdowns with about three minutes left and yeah i don't want to talk about the rest well running the ball that night 217 yards 120 yards through the air is greg long 10 for 15 120 yards so you got your starting running back averaging a first down and your quarterback he's averaging a first down as well so yeah coach warner had it pretty easy with those two guys back there jordan holmes led the way receiving eight receptions for 112 yards and uh punt returns three punt returns for 40.
so jordan that night had himself a heck of a night jared allshaded with 10 tackles look at that 10 tackles out of one guy that's insane and you know what i shouldn't act that surprised because it still happens today was he a linebacker though hopefully and lately we've seen vaguely with those numbers so um like we've been saying the last couple weeks we need a guy like owen brewer or a guy like jay mistler or carter hicks to get in there and have 10 or 11 tackles in one game um not see your safety and your quarterback and your kicker and your punter put up all those tackles which is nice see but um be nice to see some other names up in there and leading the way on that defensive side of the ball roxanna's still to take the field columbia we're ready for uh kick return right is that what we said we were getting yep we get the ball first it looks like the purge announcement's coming purge announcements coming they got blue smoke and yellow smoke that's pretty neat i kind of kind of like that oh i thought they'd have shell shocked on like we played on the way up here you know what i think that would for anybody that doesn't know uh who thinks that j easy juicy j and wiz khalifa so the song's shell shocked i think it'd be perfect this field though i mean great facility they got on the nelly let's rock it [Music] like we said earlier new turf here for them they still got construction going around everywhere they've got the soccer facility isn't even on the same field they have their own soccer field as well as football so very nice complex that they have up here and it's kind of neat when we go to these other cities it's not that colombia doesn't get into the sports but a lot of our other opponents they really get into it around the town yeah and you've seen these last couple years uh more more teams getting these turf fields and i think getting a turf field yeah you gotta you don't have to keep up with it with the grass and stuff but i just love how beautiful it looks i mean you can the colors are shining you don't have to worry about seeing what uh yardage they get to and um i just think overall it looks it's a big shell that's covering the middle of the field so i'm liking the atmosphere here in roxanna tonight not too many times do you see a 30-yard logo in the middle of the field but that's what we have here tonight columbia's going to come out all white that's uh i believe coach jermaine's favorite look he likes that all white white top white bottom white hat and these shells are going to come out with their yellow pants red jerseys but the blue on the shoulder pads and their red helmets even that scoreboard over there we got it's a nice scoreboard i mean it shows pictures it's got a huge screen on it that's something i'd like to see columbia get here in the future as a video board i think that'd be something you know i'm sure you can do a lot of different things with it we'll have to see if mr nickerson wants to take control of that too he loves all that all that video we'll just give him another task look like the lights are turning on right now and it's time for week four football that's enough talking in the aces wild pregame show we got week four action as the shells will be kicking off to the eagles we're going to have mcconaughey deep can't see who's wetzel i think wetzel back there with him it's going to be picked up and fallen on by number 88 yeah it is coach horner threw his hands up right away and he said why didn't you try to get some yards you just fell right on top of it but good to just keep possession get your offense out here with the ball and see if dan bailey can start us off right i will say we are spoiled at our facility we're up in the air we can see everything a lot better so we're going to start off tonight eagles offense gonna go trips left carter hicks is gonna go to the top of the formation by himself can be four down linemen for roxanna with only one middle linebacker i like to see if we can exploit that here tonight fagley takes the snap he's looking to the left side right away and he's got a guy in the middle in meganson he's going to take the ball up the middle he's going to take [Applause] a good 15 yards and we're going to start off with a bang first down eagles and we saw that last week with these corners kind of sitting six seven yards off and if those linebacks backers are going to do the same thing i mean that's that's all day for coach horner and his offense he's just going to get the ball in his receiver's hands quick and let them do the yards after catch columbia coming off 132 yards passing meganson 70 yards receiving last week double for the eagles gonna look to the right side and it's gonna be caught on the top of the formation and it's gonna be saigon i believe on the catch i'm gonna think they're gonna call a crack back block though on meginson he came back to get that uh linebacker look we even got our own away roster for tonight too alex first time all week or all year oh wow what is it i i looked down at my dad and coach hanson they smile they just slapped at each other because they just had the ref call what is it the college campus very nice that is nice so it will be a block in the back against meganson gonna be replay first down gonna bring up about first down and 17 we'll call it a 10 yard from the spot of the foul trips right into the boundary this time pistol back is going to be mcconaughey lined up directly behind vaguely the quarterback send a motion man in mistler going to be a handoff to mcconaughey he's going to go up the middle he's going to be hit right away by number 24 and 71.
he's only going to get two yards good job there by number 24 stepping up jordan carter with a tackle and something that we've seen a lot this year is uh these are running backs and our don bagely likes to get outside more than running up the middle and something that we need to stress more on a little bit is those stock blocks outside these wide receivers yeah it can be a little tough to to make that block but all you got to do is just get in his way for two seconds for your running back to make a play and that's all it really takes and we'll see if carter hicks saigon and missler and a couple more of those guys can pick up their stock block in the night vaguely he's looking to the left side he's going to fumble it before he throws it he's got mcconaughey down the right side of the field he's not going to be able to get the ball off he tucks it and makes a little bit happen but he had mcconaughey he was doing a little bit of a flare out once he bobbled the ball mcconaughey was wide open on the right side you being a quarterback back in the day if you dropped the ball like that is it do you just still look for your receiver or are you supposed to just tuck it and run or i guess you're supposed to continue to keep your eyes down the field but at that point you just hope you don't get clobbered yeah trips to the left side only two guys blocking them safety's playing deep gonna be a rollout to the left side he's gonna have to tuck it once again there's a lot of white jerseys standing around it looked like they had the outside linebacker that was bringing the heat here and mcconaughey was supposed to pick up a block on the on that side and he just wasn't able to get there and vaguely tried to cut it up the middle and there were a couple shells there to make the tackle bring up fourth down so columbia has the ball for two minutes on that drive [Applause] vaguely counting to make sure we got enough guys on the field and we do he's standing at his own 25 return man at the 25 for roxanna good snap vaguely with the drop he gets it off and it's going to be caught at the 22 and great job coverage there by the eagles stopping the return man right away looks like that was the wetzel that was the first one down there number three and that's something we've seen a lot also this year's on our punt return they the guys get down there they just don't break down and make the tackle you've seen a lot of arm tackling and guys just trying to make big hits but you gotta wrap up and drive your feet and make the tackle great job by zach wetzel so let's see if the eagles defense can do what they did last week roxanna's sending half of the huddle up right away and then the other half breaks after that double tight here for the roxanna shells they're gonna go right up the middle right away and a quick handoff [Applause] it's gonna be a gain of three or four and be brought down though by a bunch of eagles it's one of those tough offenses to watch you never know who's got the ball and who's making tackles yeah and the other thing with this offense is they're getting little chunks of yards all at once and then they can hit you with a long one so something that you got to be ready those d-backs got to be ready safety and corners stay uh keep your eyes on the tight ends and the receivers coming out of the back field because you never know when they could go deep because they'll allow you to sleep columbia going to put four down linemen three linebackers within three yards they're going to hand the ball off once again number 24 a big running back great job by the eagles defense and there's a fumble on the plate it's going to be picked up it's a second looks like by james and it's going to get in for a columbia eagles touchdown [Applause] ball just squirted out of there and this uh yeah mistler was there pick it up take it to the house it's a second game this year where the defense starts off the game with a touchdown great awareness there by jay mistler again and just to pick up the ball and take it to the house put six up on the board hopefully bagley can make it seven here with this extra point good snap good hold kick is up and it is almost looked like it was low yeah i don't think that was getting over the lineman so that takes the score columbia is six points roxanna nothing on the mandy maguire scoreboard see what we can get on that play there it just looked like the ball squirted out there good did a good job standing him up and after that he just did the rest himself [Applause] another thing with the facing this offense like this is they're just going to go three four five and then three yards first down and it's going to be two six yards in three yards and two yards first down so this is a running back or this is a type of offense that you gotta your defense has to be ready and up front definitely is the biggest biggest thing because your upfront guys are going to battle every single play and if they're going to run the ball right to you those linebackers are going to have to fill the gaps and be in the right spot and look like they tried to bounce it outside there which we were lucky enough but good job by the defense on that first drive to pull out six points so columbia leads it six nothing and they started hot looking back at that last kickoff for columbia matchup we had columbia started off same way he started off with five touchdowns in the first half like to see that again tonight good kickoff by vagley going to be caught at the seven yard line columbia's gonna have to keep containing the middle of the field they're gonna get close to another fumble good job there by the eagles getting down it looks like number 42 there for the eagles i believe that's jackson so these shells are going to take over presumably at the 30.
i thought there was a penalty flag and there is back at about the 23-yard line [Music] blocking the back on the shelves it's going to be a 10 yard penalty so rather than starting with decent field position the shells are going to be backed up with their backs to their own end zone territory man that would make it so much easier at our place sometimes you got coach horner and coach germain put the clock back to 317. and all the ref would have to do is just head over to the intercom but about the 13 yard line pretty nice set up so first and ten for the shells four down lineman once again for the eagles pretty much everybody in the box gonna fake the handoff up the middle it's gonna go around to the left side gonna be one miss tackle and gonna be brought down by number four sam jenny moving to that safety position we said his name a lot when he's a linebacker good to continue saying his name is he's still running the alleys this is offense i would not want to play on because i would get so bored but hey it works man you look back over the years i mean dupo back in the day used to run like this i mean nashville made a killing off running plays like this so um if you got big uglies up front i mean that can block for you gonna be a hand off up the middle to the big running back he's gonna get behind his lineman he runs pretty hard and there's gonna be a late penalty flag coming out i was thinking too number two come flying in late on the play number 24 the running back evan wells sophomore [Music] so it is going to be a personal foul 15-yard penalty on the shelves by number two paxton osmo the junior running back evan wells he is a sophomore six one 200 pounds he runs hard and he runs pretty much straight up and down but he's going north and south too and he's getting downfield going to bring up a first down and 20.
ball on their own 21-yard line quarterback's going to turn around it's going to be a reverse coming right back at us gets underneath of hicks and two guys make the tackle and denny and the kaneki that was a little bit of a reverse we'll call it and that's something where carter hicks has to stay home you saw him get sucked in a little bit there and follow the guy with the ball but then the ball's coming right back at you so whenever you're that backside linebacker you got to stay home because you never know when that ball is going to come back and sometimes you'll see a guard or a tackle pole and coming your way and if you know they're coming your way that means the ball is coming right towards you so just stay home hold your arms out a little bit find the ball and make a play second down and seven going to be another stretch play to the left side quarterbacks going to get forced back in gonna be maybe a half a yard that's one of the biggest things when going against an offense like this too you got to force everything back inside because i mean everything is so close and tight and every everybody's blocks are going to be so precise because they don't like to spread the field they want to keep it all inside the hash marks and once they get outside i mean they could be gone because they suck all your cornerbacks in they pull your safeties all the way in so it's they could spread the field if they want to but third and six watch the football gonna be a handoff up the middle to the big back wells and he's gonna get to the sticks it's gonna be close i think they're gonna give it to him though and they are first down shells but you still see mcconaughey was signed on that motion man and i'm sure coach germain made sure that these uh defensive guys kind of have an assignment on who they're kind of following um i know if you're like a linebacker you're more eyes on the quarterback and then up front you're more eyes on the running back but see uh if we can get a hold of who's really assigned for who throughout the whole game quarterback taking his time coming up under center going to be a stretch to the left side once again they like that left side and it's going to be picked up there by the eagles going to be a gain of nothing and a great tackle there on that left side jaylen ramsay type tackle right there picked him up flipped him on the ground hicks coming off i believe that was pish that came onto the play stand to recover come on d second and ten same formation with everybody sending a man in motion they're going to hand it off to him it's coming out it's great job mcconaughey forcing it man and five eagles there to make the tackle great job forcing it in recognizing that jet sweep yeah when he flies down the field like that i mean you saw it right there it's that easy just force it right back inside and you got your linebackers and your uh d-linemen just flowing to the ball mcconaughey's quick enough to where if he gets his hand on you he might drag you or that running back will probably drag him a little bit but just long enough to where he can get a couple more guys to fly to the football and help him bring him down and that's what he did there to only give up only two about two yards mcconaughey is 17 total tackles on the season we say his name a bunch from that safety now linebacker position third down and seven watch the football if you're the eagles gonna be a handoff up the middle once again by number 24 wells he's going to keep his feet moving he's going to get close to a first down but i think he is going to be short so fourth down and two you know they're gonna probably go for it got nothing to lose here is there's 350 remaining in the first quarter eagles lead it six to nothing here on the mandy maguire group scoreboard eagle comes off the field with a little bit of a limp we send a new lineman in and number 63 grant matheny is going to be over with brewer on that left side roxanna's been running that way a lot tonight watch the ball and stuff it up columbia bringing everybody up to the line of scrimmage center snapped the ball but nobody else moved discipline there by the eagles eagles defense to not jump off sides and even when the ball was snapped and nobody nobody moved i don't know if that's a good thing to see if the ball snapped and nobody moves so that's gonna bring up a fourth down and six now for the shells looks like they're bringing the punt team on the field [Music] they're gonna have the ball at their own 43-yard line i'd like to go see a block punt right now looks like coach germain still kind of has his defense out there because he thought they were going to go for it but you got enough guys out there that are on blue block to where you don't really need to run any guys out there get the pun off and it's going to be mcconaughey who's going to catch it about the 15.
he's going to make one man miss try to get up field he's got one good block he's got space he's got this sideline we wanted to see him make him break one he's still got the sideline cuts up field and gets back to the 43-yard line great return there by mcconaughey [Applause] he's always like one or two guys away from busting one good return there by mcconaughey coach warner he could scream you could hear him scream when he needs the guards that's going to bring anthonus on the field the freshman coming in at left guard doubles the left side sniffer back to the right going to be a low snap going to be a fake handoff they're going to look to the right side and they've got hicks he's going to be good for another first down after about 11 yards there columbia eagles first down coach horner ain't going to bore us with this offense because i mean when you look at that other side of the ball they're going to run the ball out tonight but you look at coach horner right now he's just going to throw the ball wherever he wants he's got he's running rollouts he's running flare routes it's good to see dom vaguely on his whenever he's running with the ball he's he's great whenever he's on the run he can throw it got a great arm 2 45 in the first quarter remaining columbia trying to get in the end zone once again tight end left sniffer back left pistol back in mcconaughey going to be a handoff to mcconaughey he's going to go up the middle and he's going to get another five yards with another positive play from the eagles offense and the o-line in the last couple games just looks more fresh they look quicker and they look like they they know what they're doing they look like they know what spot they need to get to and what what guy they need to block and i think that's that's really huge for coach baker and coach warner because i mean we're not we don't have the biggest line but um as long as you can get your assignment done and just get the job done and get to where you need to be i mean all you got to do is like we've said get these athletes space and they can make plays gonna be a run play to the left side vaguely cuts up field he's got one man to miss he rolls over the top of the defender and that was the only thing standing in front of him and that's good for another columbia eagles first down good block here on the edge by saigon yeah you had a couple good stock blocks out here i mean you had mcconaughey that was playing running back and he had to well i think he was actually they were lined up and empty and he was kind of lined up in the sniffer position but he had to come out here and block that outside linebacker so he could get up in that hole and vaguely just great job with his feet great vision pick up the first down i thought he was gonna break that last tackle there but he just put his head down tried to run him over but brings up first and goal first and goal for the eagles doubles left sniffer back left we're going to fake the ball to the left legally he's going to keep it he's going to get into the end zone for another columbia eagles touchdown coach horner keeping that offense on the field he wants to go for two to get that score to 14 nothing i don't blame him what are you going to run here same play maybe a little trick reaction let's see if coach horner we haven't seen much trickery action out of coach horner this year yet so and you know he's got he's always got one up his sleeve at some point but he usually like saving those for a freeberg or a brie central game i'll start whistles prior to the snap i believe that's going to be on megan's and look like he twitched a little early [Music] penalty repeat the try meganson with the false start on the play still going to go for it here gives you a little bit more space to work if you want to air the air the ball out cause i know it's it's a lot tougher whenever you're closer and you kind of want to throw the ball on a two-point conversion doubles for the eagles mcconaughey they're running back to the right shelves have everybody up in the box good snap it's going to be a corner for mistler and it's going to be good a two-point conversion vagley the mistler good call there by coach horner getting that corner oh it is there just an arrow route and a slant route take that corner away with that slant and that flat should be wide open with that uh that arrow route like mistler did right there and linebacker has to guard him she got to be there for run too but great job by uh coach horner make a great play call there and put us up 14 nothing two scores believe that's the first points for micheller on the year [Applause] mistler's two-point conversion takes the mandy maguire group scoreboard to 14-0 cheerleaders up to 20 push-ups on the night already as they just complete those 14.
columbia leads at 115 remaining here on this beautiful friday night a little warm in this press box though it's cooling down though it was a lot better when we got here yeah when we got here oh my god was like a sauna in here pretty good setup though [Music] for another columbia eagles touch vaguely going to send it deep here once again [Applause] [Music] want me to travel not too bad begley sends it deep and it's going to be caught by number 80 at the 5 yard line another great job by brendan white getting down the field and they're going to get the ball back to the 25 yard line white gets down the field in a hurry yeah he's quick he's all you always see he's one of the first ones down there on kick and punt punt team and colin sagan is another guy that flies down the field as long as wetzel i mean you got a lot of i don't want to be like rude but you got a lot of little guys out there that can just fly around and make plays and that's that that can be huge for a team especially on the special teams um because i mean on the kickoff team you're flying down the field and you're just making a big hit trying to make a big play and i don't know about you but i like having uh those speedy guys on on the field speed kills yes it does so roxanna's offense gonna take over once again at the 25-yard line gonna be a stretch play to the left side with number 24 and he's not going to get anywhere another great job by the eagles defensive line he got 65.
looks like 65 there owen brewer first time we've said his name gain of one they're gonna give them under a minute now remaining in the first quarter yeah you look at mcconaughey right now he's playing linebacker and he probably weighs the same as me and he's taking all these taking all these blocks from all these lineman's linemen every play so great job for uh mcconaughey and a lot of these littler guys get stick their nose in there gonna run into the left side out wide again jackson in with meganson on the tackle they're going inside inside inside outside so they're doing a great job at switching up what they're gonna do and that might be the last play of the four first quarter because we are now under 10 seconds and i don't think they're gonna get a play off three two one and that's gonna do it so at the end of the first quarter the eagles lead the mandy maguire group scoreboard 14-0 we will be back to roxanna after this baseball team they're going to be selling 50-50 all proceeds welcome back to the second quarter action from roxanne on a big third down in five for the eagles defense who hasn't really done much wrong yet gonna be a handoff up the middle by number 24 and he's not going to get anywhere great job by the eagles defense forcing a three and out not much there forever evan wells had absolutely nowhere to go i think it was your singing during that intermission that got them eagles ready for that third down there got some great vocals alex thank you i appreciate it a little watermelon sugar here tonight did you go to his concert the other day harry styles the fact that i didn't even know you're saying it no i didn't was he in st louis yeah he was like two or three nights ago oh good deal so fourth down and four for the shelves they look like they're gonna be punting from their 30-yard line they're going to fake it and it's going to be a guy in the middle of the field number 82.
it's going to be a missed tackle and they're going to get there is vaguely got the ball vaguely's got the football he just ripped the ball that should [Applause] [Music] coach warner talking to the official trying to get an explanation the official looks like quick to give an explanation we're gonna give a sideline warning i think so it's gonna be a first down and ten for roxanna after the fake puncher just got another one and another penalty flag on the play now coach warner so now he wants to timeout these are always the best timeouts here where he's not even going to talk to his team so it's going to be a first down and 10 for the shells whenever we come back and now we have a time out on the field for the eagles yeah they picked up the first down on that on that punt in the fake punt but vaguely tackled the guy and ripped the ball away from him stripped the ball and then there was a flag thrown after that plague of the sideline warning and then we just got another one on top of that for unsportsmanlike conduct so a lot just went on there in the last two minutes looks like it's uh gonna be shell ball on about the 35 yard line now as they get 15 extra yards from that penalty so let's talk back to the 2002 matchup between the shells and eagles columbia finished the year that year six and four roxanna finished 83 that was a week 10 match up in roxanna like i said earlier in the aces wild pregame show columbia dominated the stat sheet with 250 yards rushing led by andy may 12 rushes for 91 yards and passing wise another 56 yards but it didn't matter on the stat sheet as roxanna ended up winning the game 14 nothing come on d [Music] [Applause] back to the action here and this is this is something where you're kind of what is the word i'm looking for you lost a lot of your momentum so you got to try to build it back right here and make a big stop it's going to be a pass play down the middle of the field number 15's got number 32 and it's going to be overthrown i like that play call out of roxanna though you got columbia on the heels what do you have to lose go for it so gonna be second down in 10 now yeah and that's that's something also with this type of offense i know we've we've said there's so much that goes with this offense you got to worry about but you're basically in man-to-man all the way around so whenever you have uh some of these guys coming up playing more tight um it's gonna be tougher to have that one-on-one matchup because these you don't know what route they're running obviously and you just don't know what's coming motion man number two is going to get to the right side he's forced back in once again great job by the eagles defense and a swarm tackle there looks like mistler is going to be the first one off the pile great job making the tackle there you saw carter hicks back there right away one of the first players in the backfield but got his hands on him just couldn't make the tackle and that's something that we're gonna have to see if he can do something big tonight make a big play like that make a big hit see what we can do here on third and nine 39 for the shells get another stop here defense everybody just stay home probably a little reverse or something coming jared's calling for the reverse roxanna under center they're going to hand the ball off the middle great job by the eagles getting in the backfield right away they're not going to get anything number 52 for the eagles almost tackled the quarterback before he even handed off the football that's something that takes me back to blue jay days when colton bird literally took the handoff from somebody ran right through the line and said give me that from the opponent team's quarterback took it to the house fourth down and six now the shells look like they will be going for it i'd like to see the uh the players get into it here on the play but yeah be ready for the pass here fourth and sixth be ready for uh play action roll out or like i said on that last play be ready for a reverse gonna be a fake handoff it will be a pass there's a hole there by number 54 and it's going to fall i thought they were going to flags on the field holding off [Music] first down good job eagles defense [Applause] you thought he was early too on that yeah i think he was very early very early it should have been a first down uh roxanna boat we will take it if i'm coach warner here i'm taking a shot yeah i'm going to call verts we haven't really all year we haven't gone on a deep route and i think i would well yeah i think i think you put off i think you go empty you put mcconaughey on the inside slot on um chip's trip side have him run down the straight the middle of the field and i don't think anybody's catching him oh there's an interception on the play i didn't even see that i didn't see it either so it must have been a deflection after that pass because it looked like the ball just went flying after he hit him but eagles ball eagles football at the 25 yard line it's going to be a play muffed play now vagley's going to have to make something happen he's going to get at least a couple yards he was looking to the right and it looked like mcconaughey was going to the left nine minutes and 20 seconds remaining in the first half columbia leads at 14 nothing here from roxanna good job by vaguely to make something out of nothing there you can hear coach horner's play calls from all the way up here can be doubles to the right side into the boundary sniffer back right hicks is the lone receiver to the top of the screen going to get the handoff to mcconaughey he's going to have enough for a first down he's going to get another five yards after contact and good for columbia eagles first down he hits that hole pretty hard and when he gets through it he likes to you can see his head kind of move around a little bit to see where he wants to go because he likes to reverse field a lot and try to get as many yards as you can and most coaches don't really like whenever you do that because sometimes you tend to go backwards but he's a smart enough kid to where he knows to get how much he needs to get to get a first down or if he knows he's going backwards he'll just fall down so mcconaughey's great job with his vision and good job with his feet and awareness of getting how many yards he needs gonna be a fake handoff this time it's gonna be caught by missler he's gonna have an open field ahead of a great blocking downfield he's got to make one man miss and he's blocked great job by meganson and good job there by saigon on the stock blocking that was a that was a setup play right there meganson set that play up by that great blocking on that uh cornerback out there and all uh all vagley had to do there was just catch the ball and just toss it up in the air and he does great at that though he's very precise and even if he's throwing one over the middle i mean if he just needs to throw it to his running back on a checkdown route vaguely so good at putting the ball in the right spot and making sure the defense has no chance of getting it coach horner in this eagles offense picking up where they left off last week scoring and moving the football so we've now entered into roxanna territory as we have the ball on there 33-yard line tied in hicks sniffer back behind him is mistler it's going to be our hand off to the right side not going to get much of anything out of it mistler was on the ground and pretty much tripped up mcconaughey i don't think we got anything out of that they gave him a yard it's pretty generous i might have to stand for this side alex i can't see very well mcconaughey coming in on the night with 151 yards rushing time out on the field for the shells we're gonna head to a break here in roxanna we will be back with more second quarter action after this [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen for the second down and nine after these shells called their first time out with 7 16 remaining here in the second quarter doubles to the right side for the eagles it's going to be a run play to the right with vaguely he's going to get behind his blockers and he's going to get a couple yards out of it and it's going to bring down a third and more manageable five we'll call it for the eagles offense how many times did you run a play like that never never no no no i i did not have the speed to just be straight run i had to throw a little rpo is that what you call it no running for alex no no i had to make it look like the running back had the football and then i got lucky if i got away from everybody doubles to the right side hicks to the left by himself running back left it's going to be a fake hammer good pull there by vaguely he's got enough for columbia eagles first down good pull and a good read that's the kind of running i like to see there jared that's just a great job because vaguely there you give the ball to mcconaughey he's probably getting tackled there for a loss of one maybe maybe getting back to the line of scrimmage so great job by vaguely great great great eyes to see that defensive end going with the running back and to pull it and just get up in that in that hole and drag a guy three or four yards for a first down columbia now into the red zone here as they have the ball on the roxanna 19 yard line looking to take the score to 21-0 six minutes left in the second quarter doubles way out wide here for the eagles to the left side spread in the field i could see a run play to the left vaguely right now it's going to be a fake but it's going to be that same play to mistler he's going to make the catch he's got one man miss he's going to get stood up but keeps his feet moving he's going to get in for columbia eagles touchdown [Music] [Applause] and as a defense i mean what else do you do you have you have to worry about mcconaughey getting the handoff up the middle then you got to worry about vaguely faking the handoff but keeping it with a run then you can also have that little toss like you just did there to miss her so you got three different options on one play that can go for how many however many yards you need and great great play caller by coach warner to get in the end zone and put us up three scores see if vaguely can get this kick up in the air as it was blocked by his own lineman's back on his first attempt good snap good hold kick is up this time and it's right down broadway so that takes the score on the mandy maguire group scoreboard 21 nothing that's a new play a new formation i think we got this year on that touchdown play right there yeah you have missler as they uh that sniffer back and just do a rpo little rpo action and he just tosses it right over top messer makes a couple great a couple great plays to evade some tackles and tiptoe down that sideline and get in the end zone that is going to be push-ups number 41.
another great stock block out there by drew meganson too we talked about it all night just giving your guy a little bit of space all it takes is one or two seconds is just getting their space and great job by mister to read the block get up field and put up six good footwork there by mistler two going down the sideline so columbia leads it 21-0 here in week four action with 5 40 remaining in the first half [Music] coach horner over here talking to his linemen 21 nothing you don't want to let off the gas here boys [Applause] vaguely with a booming kick great zone barely that guy that kid's lucky he's lucky because if that lands on the one yard line we recover that that's our ball think about that that ball checks up at the one and that's what happens you think for sure that ball's going in so great kick there by dominic vaguely forcing roxanna to start back and deepen their own territory i believe they've only had the ball past midfield one time and that's because of a 15-yard penalty on the unsportsmanlike on coach horner he just wanted to have a nice general conversation i'm sure so let's see if this eagles defense can keep it up they're gonna have three down linemen three linebackers looks like wetzel is the defensive back to the top of the screen he gonna be a run play to the right side they're gonna get to the outside and it's gonna be a great open field tackle out there [Applause] and they've cleaned up their tackles last couple weeks we've seen a lot of week one and week two we saw a lot of arm tackling and guys just trying to make hits with their shoulder and um but lately these corners um whenever they they're getting involved with these plays they're they're making good tackles with good form tackles and only letting up one or two yards whenever uh they get their hands on them wetzel coming into the night with 12 total tackles on the season going to be a run this way great job by meganson but did not use his hands at all it's going to be a big gain for roxanna about a 20 25 yard run what were you saying about wrapping up and using your hands there jared yep and we saw vaguely was there he was right there but uh he had that lead blocker coming right his way and he really had no way to evade that block so that was a great great overall call by uh roxanna he had three or four blockers in front of him coming this way you could tell the ball was coming over here to this sideline but first down for roxanna and this offense is just it can be easy to guard but it can also be very tough to guard if you if all your guys know their assignments and know what they're supposed to do i mean columbia with the same formation as is roxanna gonna hand the ball up the middle the wells not going to get anything out of it so when you talk about this defense now your your linemen they have to really play assignment football if they're told to slant if they're told to end they're told to knife they have to do that because they start the pile up in the middle and then it's up to the linebackers to follow the football and get to the football make the tackle and that's why it's so big having vaguely and mcconaughey come up make those plays because um they they were made they were leading our team in tackles as safeties and corners so it's nice to have these guys come up get their nose around the football a little bit more and we've seen that tonight i mean vaguely and mcconaughey have been in on almost every tackle so it's a great job by the d-line to kind of mess it all up in the middle and then linebacker's got to come up make a play as looks like grant math and he just jumped off sides gonna give him five extra yards be closer to a first down [Music] who else had the uh referee with the headset i wanna say it was two years ago we played somewhere it might have been the taylorville game in the playoffs three years ago i might have to look into that now too so it's gonna bring down to second and four four roxanna as they send up their tight ends their center and their guards first the tackles and the special team backfield goes second [Music] [Applause] back judge was the first to throw the flag there and that's his responsibility he's got the the play clock and the deep part of the field and tonight he doesn't have to worry about deep part of the field too much whenever roxanna's on offense so that five yard penalty that matheny just had pushed him back again push him right back here for a second and 10.
253 remaining and counting in the first half before the century 21 halftime show this is still a big drive here because roxanna gets the ball coming out second half so need a big stop on the defensive side what do you know up the middle again and nothing going for the shells that's a great job by our front lineman stopping everything that comes up there in middle a tonight and the only positive yards they've really got all night is running outside and a couple passes that they could have had but um up up in the middle i mean we've stuffed it up up front and they've really gained nothing more than i'd say five or six yards each play up front but great job to stuff the middle and is that kenningstein there in the middle and you got owen brewer and grant matheny up there so third down and nine watch the football here watch for the pass too a big stop here i think you're gonna call timeout to conserve some of that clock if you're coach horner gonna be a sweep to the outside great job by vaguely stepping up making the tackle and allowing nothing he knows how to shade blockers so well and it evade them he that guy was running right at him and he so quick with his hands and so quick with his arms to just throw that guy away and find the football and make a tackle and that's why uh coach germain moved him up a little bit to make some more tackles this year he's he's done that look at coach horner here on the sideline they're asking if he wants a timeout and finally after 20 seconds he calls it would like to see that been called a little bit sooner but nonetheless we get to time out here in this fourth down and eight so now we've talked about the defense alignment and linebackers on this defense you said earlier defensive backs are pretty much man-to-man out here yeah i mean whenever you have up front you have linebackers and d-line that are going to be assigned to the running back and the quarterback so then when you have these wing-backs and kind of tight ends that forces your and they're bringing everybody in so that forces the defense to come in so then you kind of just got to match up with whoever guy is right across from you and if he's blocking then you just got to look for the football and if you see him going out for a round a little bit or if he's running straight at you just stay with him um i think just the biggest thing in this defense is just to stay home and never fall asleep those are the two biggest things i think um like we've seen all night with a couple reverses um carter hicks got sucked in and won they got a couple yards out of a reverse um and you've seen a couple passes that have went over our head that quarterback couldn't connect with a receiver where he beat us two or three times so um the two things that roxanna has put us in a tough situation they've just not been able to capitalize on on anything uh on the offensive side of the ball but um great sign to be up 21 nothing right now gonna be a low oh watch out nearly gets hit by meginson and if that hits meganson you can't be mad that's a line drive but if yeah that hits meganson that's a live ball if it doesn't go out of bounds so columbia will have one timeout and 71 yards ahead of them to get into the end zone as they lead the mandy maguire scoreboard 21-0 here in week four in week one of the cahokia conference matchup we've got this matchup going on here we have east alton wood river at salem and we have freeberg at bree central right tight end left sniffer back left going to be a handoff to the left side with mcconaughey he's going to get hit by number 24 wells at the line of scrimmage you got to get up and go nothing going there on that run play columbia getting up to the line of scrimmage right away we're going to go doubles to the right side tight end right so more or less a trips look over here empty backfield for vaguely he's looking deep he's got a man in mcconaughey down the middle of the field he's got mcconaughey by one step too many oh man did he have a mcconaughey still be running oh no he'd be in the end zone already last week we had a couple incompletions that vaguely lobbed it a little bit too much this one tonight just a little bit too hard call it again we're about 40 seconds away from the century 21 halftime show stick with us we'll go over the local scoreboard and break down this first half doubles for the eagles going to look to the right side here and it's going to be mistler he gets out of bounds good for four yards and a fourth down and four now you gotta punt it oh you have to punt it here fourth down and four yards to go man that was about he was about one foot off on that mechanic you can't force anything here a snap over the head or a fumble or an interception you can't you can't force anything vaguely going to be the punter he's standing at the 21 and a half yard line number 80 standing back deep for the shells vaguely with another booming punch fair cut at the 30.
so 28 seconds remaining i think if you're roxanna you just got to take a knee here [Music] game of inches so don't fall asleep here you never know they might take a chance they have nothing to lose i would expect something simple and i'd expect a little nickel action if anything put vaguely and mcconaughey back here at safeties just so nothing can get behind him that looks to be what coach jermaine is going to do roxanna looking at their wristbands after they broke the huddle three down linemen for the eagles gonna be a sweep to the outside with the quarterback he's got the edge we're going to force him back he is going to get out of bounds after nine maybe 10.
[Music] second down and one hey one thing with this type of offense you don't have really any uh completions and that clock's always running you hear coach horner yelling read your keys and those keys he's probably talking about is up front if you see a guy pulling you know that's where the ball is probably going [Applause] same formation once again nothing's changing out of this offense or defense roxanne is going to hand the ball off to the right side great job by carter hicks getting in the backfield along with number four sam duddy great tackle should take us to the end and that will do it [Music] so at the end of the first half columbia doing what they did last week they're leading this one 21-0 we're gonna send it to a break and we will be back with the century 21 halftime show after this [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the century 21 halftime show presented by century 21 as those eagles lead this week four match up 21 to nothing and we're about halfway through here at halftime tonight jared pretty good clean game out of the eagles picking up where they left off last week yeah and i think it's all starting on the defensive side of the ball um we had that touchdown to start off start us off on the defensive side um on that first drive on the offensive side we didn't look too hot three and out and then the defense got us going with an early touchdown and then from there it's just been um the eagles uh we missed on a couple plays uh right before halftime that vaguely to mcconaughey uh throw that should have went for about 70 yards but overthrew him by about two yards but yeah overall up front they look a lot better um than they did the last couple weeks and i think the defense is what's really getting the job done tonight good to see this eagles team backed away we were used to seeing those first two weeks um like we've said before we can't take anything away out of mosquito and waterloo who are playing each other tonight but those two teams are both solid teams and it's good to see that you know we've gotten past that point and our guys are are answering the call and getting it all squared away here as the special teams start making their way out to the field now as colombia is taking the field with three minutes and 50 seconds remaining talk about a couple scores going around here around the area jared you've got the tweeter open what do you got looks like waterloo is trailing moscuta 29-7 at half um 31 minutes ago there was freeberg in central freeburg was up 13 nothing after the first i was looking for that salem score in east alton wood river but i couldn't find it anywhere but that free bergen central game we'll have to keep an eye on to see uh those will be two of the top teams in the kokia conference that people are going to try to knock off each week and i think anytime you got both of those teams on your schedule you're going into that game with a full head of steam like we are next week like you said on the way up here alex with the freebird receiving their baseball rings um next week and it's homecoming so um next week we head to freeburg and i think you just got to go in there and take that one i mean yeah freeburgs one of the biggest rivalry games of the year and then they're gonna be all hyped up but i think that's whenever you just gotta come in and say hey we're here to play some football and we're going we're going to show you like you said you just got to go up and take that one uh i believe i've said it before but freebird could probably go one and eight in a season and as long as they beat colombia yeah they yeah that's it's their super bowl it is it is their super bowl in every sport any sport too like if you go to a volleyball game even or even a girls basketball game like it every freiberg columbia game in any sport is the most competitive i think in koki a conference so it's always fun fun to see as we've got coach baker and coach stump going up coach stump that half time you can make any adjustments here in the second half or you're just going to keep going just kind of keep doing what we're doing making sure nothing gets outside of us defensively and we should should be good all right well thanks for the quick question there yeah good luck good luck getting up there and then uh that uh steep ladder and uh yeah that's steve i'll be a little guy to get up there we are now 150 remaining columbia down here stretching roxanna has yet to make the field now they're making it down here to our far right they've got their little guys out here tonight with them in their junior football league i believe we have blue jay night coming up two weeks two weeks from after freeburg i think i believe so what would that game that would be the east walton game on october 1st that is correct um we have our blue jay night coming up so i believe those kids either they make the tunnel for the high school players or they run through the tunnel with that i think they run lately they've been running out with them leading the team out but anyway that that's awesome for those kids to just be involved and running out on the field with all those fans in the stands i mean i remember i did it as a little kid and it's one of the best feelings in the world and then you get to high school and it just all goes like that and it's all gone already and now we're sitting up here talking about it so um it's it's pretty nice for those kids to have a little experience like that because i mean they look up to all these high school kids playing football just like we all did at some point so um they can't wait to be up in these white and blue jerseys one day playing on the turf fields and getting their name called on the pa and so i think it's that's a really good thing that we do uh in columbia with the blue jay blue jay night the quarterback club is helping put that together last week they had first responder night donated the 500 check and two weeks putting on the blue jay night they are going to have their chicken and beer dance the 12th of february so once again be on the lookout for those tickets always a great night and something that you look forward to all year round so jared what do you got so coach stump says that we just got to make sure we keep forcing everything inside after the century 21 half yeah and i think that's all you really need to do force everything back inside and staying home and just staying awake um mostly those safeties and cornerbacks but yeah overall i think they've done a good job of just staying home carter hicks and dom vagely and mcconaughey have really been guys that have really stuck their nose in there tonight and made some big plays to force everything back inside and get some more help from the columbia defense so i think as long as we do that we'll be able to put some points up on the board and i think i think we'll escape here with the win we go back to when we talked to uh coach kendall before in the aces wild pregame show first question how do you get the guys focused again i think we had great focus in that first half yeah i mean on the offensive side of the ball we came out with that three and out so maybe it just took took a couple plays to to get ready on this new field new opponent but once our defense got out here they they looked like they were ready to play um with that scoop and score to get us on the board and then everybody was pretty much fired up from there on and they often started to roll a little bit got meganson connected with a few passes you've seen missler catch the ball a few times tonight mcconaughey and vaguely are both running all over the field o-line's doing a great job so overall i think offense looks really good tonight up front especially and i think that columbia offense is looking really good tonight mcconaughey like you said having himself a heck of a night here's what kyle mcconaughey had to say this week linebacker because i feel like i feel like i can get in there more and make tackles behind the line instead of instead of a few yards back at at safety uh kendall does a great job with uh you know giving me something to look at and uh in previous games on film with the other team of you know what are the kickers tendencies and whatnot so we usually have a kind of feeling of what we want to go for but whenever i'm out there i just kind of look for a hole and try to hit it hard i say see lane go for it but yeah scouting report is always it always helps um so they have a really really compact offense so they usually don't they don't spread them out they're trying to gang you know four or five yards each play and wear us down and then try to get us on a play action or something so i feel like i feel like if we stop them in the run game i think our secondary is good enough with uh with our safeties and corners that we can we can make plays on the pass coach kendall talks about how it starts and stops with the special teams and you know you got to watch film from the first play of the game to the last play of the game yeah and i think coach kendall and all of our coaches all around do uh do a great job of getting these these kids ready as you saw they're mcconaughey um talking about how they don't like to spread the ball around they're not going to spread the guys out all across the field a lot so looks like coach germaine and coach horner did their homework and um got their players ready and it's it's definitely shown here tonight with that zero up on the scoreboard um but i to me i think defense wins championships and our defense the last two weeks has looked very strong and very they're just all going towards the football you've seen a lot of white hats get to the football a lot more so i think that's a a very good thing that the coaches have done for the kids and just getting them prepared and ready for the for the next game well coach kendall you're going to have to send your kicking team out once again we're not seeing your kick return lately but doing a great job flying around we mentioned brennan white getting down the field every time i like to see him make a tackle here he always gets down too far almost sometimes so i like to see him check up and make a tackle here to start the second half where the eagles lead the mandy maguire's scoreboard 21 to nothing i'm saying wetzel makes this tackle we're gonna go wetzel in on the tackle yeah i'm gonna go wetzel on this one kickoff he's usually flying down there so see if he can get his name name called up here on this side of the field here we got wetzel denny saigon meganson and peyton andrews a lot of speed and across the board looks like weak and hobber mill and then i can't see any more numbers over there so that'll do it for the century 21 halftime show we got second half action starting right now with another touchback out of dom vape so the eagles defense comes back out on the field hoping to keep that goose egg starting defense cut the goose egg last week and uh the explorers kept their starters onto the field and that's where they got their points but great game last week out of the defense great first half for the d this time taking his time getting off the field tonight man come on get out of here so here we go roxanna keeps it tight like mcconaughey said wing back to the left side gonna be a reverse it's gonna be a fake it's gonna be a pass play to the right side quarterback continues to scramble he's going to try to cut up field he's going to be chased from behind good job down the field by the eagles and who gets off the heil last it looks like matheny in on the tackle we talked about that last week great job by the defensive backs coverage down the field and making those plays last a lot longer than they need to yeah and up front that pressure on the quarterback can put a make it a lot harder for these wide receivers to stay open and it's easier for these d-backs to kind of stay with those receivers and make plays gonna be a handoff up the middle they're gonna try to get a good push and they really do there white flag lake flag from the back judge looks like owen brewer and vaguely were in on that tackle i'm gonna say face mask yeah if it's from the back back side it's usually either a late hit or face mask or horse collar on the back side of the play they're waving it off there is no penalty so i wonder like that he had to see that from 15 yards away throw the flag and then go out shouldn't have done that yeah or they they could have talked and they talked to that other rep and he said it could have been a face mask or but wave the flag off and keep playing first down for roxanne first down and 10 for the shells from their own 32 yard line gonna be a play to this side great job forcing it back in as vaguely good tackle there by the eagles last time whenever they busted that one you saw him kind of stick his nose in there on that uh in the second quarter that same run to this side and meganson kind of had a miss tackle and he guy got up to about the 35-yard line but great job there to kind of break down and form tackle him and take him to the ground he's a little shaken up on that play though has it good job by brewer running running the line as well so it's gonna be a gain of one [Music] i wonder why they do that they split the huddle up in two four down lineman three linebackers everybody in the box for the eagles gonna be a handoff up the middle faked me out number 24 keeps his feet moving this time the hardest run he's had tonight and he gets rewarded with a good eight yards and is going to be close to a first down extra yard about a yard away from the first only third is short for the shells looks like you're going to get a breather here he was pointing to his ankle collin sagan steps in as cornerback so third down and one make a pile in the middle boys come on big play kingston here come on stuff it up in the middle they're going to go up the middle they're going to bounce off their linemen and think he's only going to get a yard and a half but he only needed a yard so that's going to be another first down for the roxanna shells [Music] and they're going to get three yards four yards four yards first down then they're gonna keep doing that and then one of these times they're gonna do a little play action and throw one right on on over your head so this is where you have to stay ready as a defensive back it's like gonna be a pass play going down the sideline and it's going to be caught i believe and it is caught good job by wetzel there to be aware of his guy running the go route and staying right with him sometimes when you get so used to i remember playing as a safety whenever you would get so used to run run run run run run every single time and then every now and then you'll get bored and you'll want to you'll want to start getting up there and making a couple tackles in that run game and then bam they'll hit you with a pass right over your head and you will not be ready for it and that's something just coming with dis having discipline and playing good columbia football kingstein comes off antonus comes in going right up the middle denny lost his feet there and it's going to be good for another 8.
and going to bring up a third down in inches don't like to start here you know you got that 21 nothing lead come out a little slow here on defense yeah now now it seems like we're doing better on the outside runs and they're getting a little bit more up the inside so we'll see what uh coach horner and coach jermaine can can draw up on the defensive side of the ball see if we can get a third down stop here maybe uh come up with a fourth down make a play here they're getting everybody up to the line of scrimmage they're gonna go to the outside they're gonna try to get back inside and he's gonna get brought down for a loss of one [Music] [Applause] out of socket almost great tackle by vaguely you see how he shed that block and he had a offensive alignment coming out lead blocking for that running back and shed that block grab all you did was grab the arm of that runner and just threw him on the ground bring it to a loss of one and a fourth and two come on make a stop here watch the football fourth down in a long one they got everybody up to the line of scrimmage again they're gonna try to go up the middle they're gonna find a seam they're gonna get close to a first down but i don't think they got it yeah i don't think he got it this side judge over here doesn't give it to him he still hasn't given it to him i think they're going to have to measure this [Applause] they're going to have to measure it and they are this is going to be close here this is already a five minutes and 12 second drive for roxanna already half the quarters almost done already and columbia hasn't even touched the ball yet in the second half coach horner's right there he's looking down the line [Music] what do the officials say no first down by half of football generous spot [Applause] so first down and 10 for the shells coach might have the best oh man after 21 years you pick a couple up i guess a lot some of them i am not allowed to say so first down in 10 for the shells six minutes and 30 seconds remaining in the third quarter come on d get a fumble right here reverse we're gonna do a reverse to the right side it's going to be good for 12 and they just need to hang on and they do you hit that hole hard didn't he i think he had contacted 12 yards deep and carried him for another three or four and it's going to be good for another first down shells [Applause] [Music] front four getting beat here on this drive gonna have to change something up roxanna must have done something in half [Music] coach stump said they're gonna have to force everything inside roxanna's doing that for you [Applause] everybody up to the line of scrimmage once again it's going to be a fake it's going to be a pass they're looking deep into the end zone meganson's gonna be there he's gonna be the closest defender and it falls incomplete [Music] so second and ten quiet night here on the eagles sideline team's giving everybody something to cheer about sophomore quarterback for roxanna quarterback's under center he's going to do a reverse once again to the right side with two pulling linemen he keeps his feet moving gets out of the tackle and that's going to be good for another another first down for roxanna this time we're gonna send it to a break with the injured shell with five minutes and 45 seconds remaining in the third quarter here from roxanna welcome back power look like a lineman on the play so first down in 10 after the play from the eagles 19-yard line most plus they go right up the middle it's going to be sniffed out by brewer who does a great job hanging on and then to clean up the mess is missler good job by brewer fighting off the block [Music] then third quarter 508 remaining in the third quarter second down and seven for roxanna colombia leads it 21-0 roxanna trying to get into the end zone for the first time tonight quarterback's going to take the snap and hand the ball off right up the middle to wells he's really not going to get much with a late flag on the play personal foul on the eagles face mask personal foul face mask on the eagles it looks like number two is what they motioned and that is carter hicks so that's going to be enough for a first down i believe it is and that's going to put first down in goal for roxanna [Music] roxanna comes in scoring 18 points a game then don't break here coach should be ready for a reverse or just coming right up the middle as they've been doing this whole drive everybody up to the front of line of scrimmage and it's a great call by coach germain getting in the backfield as missler had him on a blitz there and that a gap great call by coach germain they've had this ball for almost eight minutes almost eight minutes yeah trying to get the blue crew over here and fired up and got the apparent here we go [Applause] [Music] [Applause] gonna go to the outside they force it back in great job by forcing it by the eagles defense wetzel in forcing it back in great job out there by mr wetzel [Music] this offense is somewhat it gets almost gets tougher whenever you're when you're i would think when you get closer to the end zone because you almost just you know what's coming as a defense whenever you're they're going to run the ball almost every time up the middle or it's coming on the outside so [Applause] be ready to stuff up the middle here and look for maybe a toss sweep to the outside gonna pass it's gonna be a pass play quarterback's gonna look to the right side he's gonna try to get into the end zone and it looks like he's gonna be short no signal yet and it is gonna be fourth down fourth down and short i'm calling a geronimo here if i'm coach jermaine everybody i've got eleven defenders they're all blind i'm still on the troy palamalo he's jumping over the line and taking taking the snap from the quarterback [Music] fourth down and one keep the zero up on the board here defense [Applause] double wing back with the running back right behind him gonna be a toss to the right side and they're not gonna get in [Applause] great job eagles defense getting the stop inside the one-yard line and you got to go heavy here to get yourself out of the end zone don't want to set up for the uh quarterback five yards deep already yeah so bad snap is a safety right there over the head so run heavy here get out of the end zone give yourself a little uh a little space to work your spread offense and they had the ball there for 10 minutes and didn't score great job there by the eagles defense a long drive that is after all of the confusion that just happened we have a penalty on the play good thing is if it's on the eagles you can't move back very far offsides on the offense i guess he lined up in the neutrals i don't know half the distance to the goal loss of a yard you heard coach warner said just do it again so i guess same play guys are already up on the ball so there's only only two guys on the right side here this should be a positive play here for the eagles it's going to be a handoff to mccoy yeah one block he's got 99 yards ahead of him come on he's got 20 yards there he tries to make a shift i'm going to call block in the back no they are not going to call blocking the back on that if they call that on carter hicks great job there by kyle mcconaughey using his vision personal foul horse collar on the defense it'll be a 15-yard penalty from the spot of the foul correct yeah i think so so great job there by the eagles getting out of the end zone getting a huge play almost 30 yards there for mcconaughey yeah you saw it right from the snap they didn't even have they had one corner one d back and a middle linebacker over here with a safety plan right behind that guy and there was no one on this side of the field and i mean great break play call by uh coach horner to just get the ball in your playmaker's hands and get out of a tough situation we're going to try to do it again this time mcconaughey is going to reverse field he's going to have to make another man miss and he does he gets into their territory and it's good for another 15 yards and another first down eagles see what i said when i said earlier him going back he went backwards about five six yards there but he knew he was where he was gonna get he knew he could outrun that guy and lucky enough he was able to pick up first down as he's flexes in his elbow a little bit right now another positive one baseball two player two as well correct what kind of kid you can put him wherever you want to and he's gonna get it done time out on the play roxanna coach horner was gonna leave heavy out there two plays you got 60 yards stick with it we're going to send it to a break columbia leads the mandy mcguire group scoreboard 21-0 with one minute and 43 seconds remaining in the third quarter [Music] [Applause] is welcome back ladies and gentlemen just to let you know that the wi-fi here in roxanna is starting to get pretty spotty so if you're losing connections we're sorry we're doing what we can welcome to high school sports hand the ball off up the middle to mcconaughey he's going to go up the middle he's going to get to the 40 let's call it good for 2 yards if you would like to donate a 5g hotspot contact coach horner and he can give you any package deal that we can have for future events in future games yeah then it wouldn't be so spotty right yeah and like prairie central whenever uh well two years ago yeah we had the wind just absolutely coming in on us we were doing great all the way up until that last three minutes of the game yeah that was the most exciting part of the game we had about 300 live viewers or something like that same formation heavy rip bigly takes the handoff most likely it's going to be a false start didn't look like we were going to be running the same play there on the start of the play the legal motion is the call i believe [Music] gonna be a five yard penalty bring up a second down second down thirteen 13 yards to go for the first this is one of the only times that there is no play name really from the coaching staff there is but for the most part they just give a hand signal in on this starting back in 07 season it's going to be a fake handoff we're going to look deep to meginson in the middle of the field and it's going to be underthrown and picked intercepted by number three [Applause] from their own 23-yard line [Applause] another time there that just could have been thrown a little bit harder and farther [Music] man at the ball on our [Music] come up own [Music] so with 26 seconds remaining in the third quarter roxanna's going to start over from their own 23-yard line look at the dip you can even see the difference in his offenses i'll tell you here in a sec gonna be a zone to the outside it's going to be brought down good open field tackle once again by the eagles defense there and i believe that is so that's gonna do it for three quarters of football here from roxanna columbia leads this first goku conference game of the year 21-0 we will be back with fourth quarter action after this and the winner gets 175.50 tonight so pull out your 50 50. welcome to the fourth quarter here tonight where it's been all eagles tonight [Applause] as we have a second down and one from the shelves 31-yard line going to be the reverse play coming towards us they're going to get up the middle they're going to get the first down good job by jackson hanging on and making the tackle but it's good for 10 yards and the shells first down roxanna's show we've seen that play how many times tonight they reversed there and there's now they're starting to get seven eight nine yards each time they run it because they'll get you with that run up the middle or a little toss sweep or an outside zone and then they'll hit you with that reverse whenever you least expect it so roxanna doing a great job of maintaining the ball though for this whole game gonna fake and it's gonna go to the left side great job staying home by the defender there see who gets up [Applause] i think that was vaguely that did a great job staying home but then brewer came and cleaned up the pile at the end looked like vaguely though did a good job of forcing it back in and ball goes away you got to stay home and that's what vaguely did back to the line roxanne almost took up that whole quarter just traveling down the field in one drive and then we take two plays to get all the way to the other 40 in less than two minutes and then just like that third quarter was over and we're already here to the fourth with 10 40 left gonna be a handoff to the right side good job carter hicks by fighting off the block making a tackle and not giving up anything and it's gonna be a third down and long picks up carter hicks coming in at six foot five what do you think somebody gonna come here deep ball yeah i'm thinking a little play action and he's gonna roll out to probably this side of the field and he's gonna try to throw to number two on a drag round [Applause] one of these coaches you call me up one day come on coach jermaine i knew that one was coming good play call [Music] by you or by roxanna so first down in ten roxanna gets it to the eagles 36 yard line i did that last week too saying i want to see mcconaughey go and h up toss one down the middle of the field and three plays later they did i don't even know if it was three plays first down in 10 for the shells 9 30 remaining in the game eagles lead it 21 nothing they're going to look to the wide side of the field and that's where roxanna's going to go they got a man and it's gonna be caught [Applause] good for about six complete number 24.
like vaguely bit pretty hard on the run and then he had to play catch up and that was just a completion the sophomore quarterback though he does a great job of chris wallace he does a great job of selling all these fakes with the fake putting the ball in the and you're running running back spelly the fake toss and then a lot of these passes he's had i mean they've been right on the money but they've been either too long or too short second down in two wouldn't be a false start on everybody but the center this time earlier in the game he snapped it when he shouldn't have and now he didn't snap it when he should have dead hopefully that's one of those plays that can end the driver 839 remaining in this week four match-up josh turner about 20 minutes away i think alexandra cay just finished up at songs for soldiers gonna be another long day up there tomorrow so if don't have your tickets head on up there it's gonna be an awesome day gonna be a run right up the middle that was a great fake that time by the quarterback 24 is a sophomore too i mean you look look through here you got one two three a lot of these linemen are seniors that we look at but a lot of these skills players up here you see a bunch of sophomores and juniors so over the next couple years we might see a couple more of these guys coming to columbia next year and we'll see what they got in stock i mean they run their offense it's a hard offense to stop i mean they've had their time of possession is probably much higher than ours i would say but we're leading the scoreboard pick oh go high point my only complaint on that play third down and one when you're roxanna and you're looking deep yep i guess you're gonna think you're gonna gain one yard so you take a chance on third down fourth down you're gonna be able to get it right yeah but yeah they thought it was a goal down here on the goal line and they couldn't even get in there so see if coach germain can call some up here and have someone make a big play this is it this is one of the biggest plays of the game if you can make a stop here i'd say pretty much game over you can run that clock out with the athletes you got on the field you can run whatever plays you want and just pick up a couple first downs and that'll be it so big stop here for the eagles fans starting to get into it fourth down and one shells are going to hand it off they're going to try to go wide once again and i think they're going to get it they're going to get a couple yards and they're going to keep pushing the pile and it's going to be good for another roxanna first down [Music] another long drive here by roxanna game has really started to slow down a little bit [Music] first down in 10.
