yeah scruggs did a nice job going after that ball just didn't wasn't able to haul it in and i don't know how close it was to a pick as it was pretty low but the bloomington south player was right there for sure it's columbus north starts again second and ten two by two formation casted are now in motion to a tight trips formation for the bulldogs hammond's back to pass he's going to look for cass setter in the flat he gets away he's got room across the 40 across the 45 across the 50 brought down at the 49 yard line good athletic play there by keegan cass header who comes out hobbling a little bit okay timeout taken 57 seconds timeout taken here by columbus north two timeouts remain 57 seconds on the clock here in the first half what do you expect i think north will be in full mode here we got two timeouts left which means that they really can go in the middle of the field again to try to pick up some big yards but what a big play that allows north to be a little bit more comfortable in terms of going after some points here with the good field position first down remember clock stops on first downs two timeouts left and then if they get out of bounds or run plays out of bounds so it's just under a minute here brett with 57.3 seconds north has been able to execute their their two-minute offense pretty well throughout the year hopefully they can continue executing here and get some points on the board i appreciate josh burnett and his team upstairs uh highlighting the bulldog cheerleaders here i don't know i know less about cheerleading than i do about soccer which is very little but i know there's a ton of girls out there nick and they they're they're always very well coached and do a great job uh with their cheers and choreography and everything so congratulations to them and appreciate them representing the high school well here balls on the 49-yard line it's on the bloomington south side of the field here first and ten two time-outs remaining as nick said 57 seconds on the clock hammond's back in the gun looking downfield he's got some pressure he's got cooper horn wide open again broken broken coverage there for bloomington's oh there's a flag there's a flag [Music] [Applause] that would be only the second flag of the game i didn't see any bulldogs on this side of the field celebrating let's see what the call is here looks like they call an ineligible receiver down field which means a lineman got outside of that five yard zone that they can be in and um that'll back them up five yards and take points off the board yeah and that was right north got got pretty lucky there in terms of the pass the defensive back slipped but again were able to find the receiver and was able to get in the end zone that that is just unfortunate uh that the offensive lineman was caught down downfield so that's any any drawback pass play you can see offensive linemen get down there on screenplays things like that but those drop back passes they have to stay there otherwise look like receivers sort of yeah sort of hammond's little bumpy snap there he brings it in and back to pass and two high and that's going to be an incomplete pass third and 15 from the 46.
he's going to have his money's worth he gets through two tackles and he's brought down you're on the heart well [Music] he runs with his knees like he pulls his knees up really high and he digs into the ground and it's a great run there to set up a first play to the left side this time and nothing going the eagles are there and i think that might do it for the first half and that's a good play to end it on yeah i don't know if he's holding the river didn't have any timeouts there but up that big run i would have tried to i mean their quarterback you don't know if they has a great arm if you could throw the ball down the field but i would have taken at least a shot there on the eagle side of the eagles territory it's an official timeout with three seconds to go in the first half and it looked like the white hat was going to let it run down and finally called it off a couple seconds later so the century 21 halftime show we'll have the band performance out there and we're going to try to get a blue jay representative up here and talk about them once again let us know where you're coming from and listening from usually we have the whips text in by now so ribs where are you at tonight got your boy out on the sideline [Applause] let's see if we can find a score in that salem central game jared's the official tweeter just gotta look up 618 football people keep posting scores there's the webs there watch it on their way to murray kentucky i knew they were out there somewhere jerseyville is beating waterloo eight-nothing in the first quarter joshua mcconaughey watching from hoover alabama so we're gonna have one more play here in the first half gonna be a tight end to the right doubles to the left side gonna be another run to the right side with number 24 as the horn sounds it's a gain of four and that's gonna do it for the first half eagles lead it 21-0 as we enter into the century 21.
both teams are two timeouts now after that big penalty of course we're in that same situation we were a minute ago is who who exactly wants to stop the clock here um we'll see what happens and and see how north chooses to to address this there's a timeout taken officials time out looks like they're switching the ball but they're switching with the wrong though they got the wrong they're switching the ball with the wrong sideline so i'm not exactly sure what happened there but nobody is arguing about that or asking any questions so we'll trust that they got it right you know all those balls are id'd and stamped and written on everything so they they know they know what's what and what they're doing here looks like there's still some question marks from the referees here oh they are getting ready it'd be interesting to see if north uh goes after it here is conservative and runs the ball and they gave history but he's got space to go across the 40-yard line across the 35 still on his feet across the 30 down to the 27 yard line no flags on the field this time and there's 37 seconds left here in the quarter and north will take their second timeout be first and ten from the 37 seconds on the clock one time out remaining you know i i don't know if north was trying to be conservative or not but but what a play by redmond breaking the run getting the first down so clock stopped again got a timeout here in great position to uh put some points on the boards first downs makes touchdowns so let's keep it rolling here getting some first downs uh and hopefully columbus north can get some more points on the board but yeah i ha i have noticed balloon and south is still playing very tight uh they don't have safeties deep uh in any type of prevent mode so look for columbus north maybe to take another shot over the top now it's a shorter field so that'll be a little bit more difficult but just enough room where we're at right now to take a couple long shots looks like we do have three wide receivers out there still on the attack seems like cass header is okay now he was a little had a little bit of a limp when he came out of that well maybe five or six plays ago but it seems like he's moving okay now so ball in the left hash trips to the right trips to the field here for north hammond's back to pass looking he has time now he has pressure he's gonna get wrapped up at the 33-yard line clock rolls clock is still rolling and north will take the final time out here it's a good call it would have taken several seconds to get that ball spotted and plus you have receivers downfield and would have taken plenty of time to get them back in the line of scrimmage so final timeout 26 and a half seconds second 15 from 33.
we're going to get the band ready we're going to get ready for halftime up here we will be back right after this [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] uh [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh [Music] so [Applause] [Music] so [Music] another great proposal [Applause] hello [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the century 21 halftime show presented by century 21 where the eagles lead the oilers 21-0 we welcome into the to the booth here coach sandstrom coach sandstrom basketball coach this year how's the summer going how's the fall going we've been doing some camps and practices how's everything been shaping up so far it's been it's been real good it's uh nice to be back on the sidelines that's for sure uh we've got some hungry kids uh our numbers aren't great uh but our numbers aren't great you know and also across across the board you know um but i'm super excited getting back ready to go so it's good to get back into the gym and get back into that routine once again and we were talking schedule you said right off the bat you're starting with the top dogs in moscow and nashville so you're gonna see what you're made of right away yeah on paper the best two teams in the area probably are muscular in nashville and then uh bridge central's always always good and we get to play two of the best three teams right out of the gate and we don't really have a whole lot of varsity experience coming back so it'll be a completely new thing and new offensive scheme new defensive scheme and we're getting thrown to the wolves right away for sure you got some size this year you're going to be a perimeter team do you have that figured out yet or oh well normally i've been blessed with big old post kids my whole entire career and we don't really have a true post this year but we're going to be able to play a little bit different way we've got a bunch of athleticism across the board um we've got a very talented freshman group coming in that i've had the last two years at middle school uh we've got a very hungry uh junior class as well and then we've got glenn powers probably our only senior this year so like i said we've got a good mix but but those kids that i mentioned their basketball all the time and i'm super excited to get back going so we got the new cahokia conference and some teams that you haven't seen before but i mean you've been around long enough i think you might have seen them just in a regular season game so that new conference are there any teams out there that could shake things up i mean now you've got oakville in they're the medium division but are you going to be playing them every year right well we we've played we played oakville forever uh john krause is a great friend of mine and then he actually resigned and his assistant ryan heck has taken over so we play them we are actually in the mid-winter tournament at oakville this year as well uh i was really excited to see wood river get in because uh wood river uh their their field house is phenomenal it's a great place to play and then roxanna mark briggs is a personal friend of mine and uh he i actually went up and helped him out with practice the last couple years too so it's always good to have some bigger schools come in and we'll still play the teams that you know left in westland and carlisle moving to the middle division we'll still probably play them so it's nice to have some new people where you don't have to play teams three and four times you know i get it i get it well thanks for coming up you never know what's going to happen when you come up here you just get thrown to the wolves and you did a great job and we're interested to see i think we're going to do about a dozen games i think uh going to be calling the games with kchs hey i'm i'm all about that taylor taylor's already kind of talked to me about that so you guys being around is great and the support and help my parents are going to be able to watch the games at home in their living room from three and a half hours away so i'm very grateful that's what we like to hear so good luck this season and uh we'll be talking to you thanks alex we'll see you tomorrow rip more we'll see you at riddler appreciate it all right so now we'll get jared back in here jared good first half there by the eagles going up 21-0 and we're going gonna try to get that going once again as we get the opening kickoff right off the bat yeah and i think something we saw earlier was uh coach horner just running the ball trusting his o-line and trusting his athletes to make plays um having mcconaughey and vaguely back there um i think i think we'll be in good hands the rest of this game all right well that's gonna do it here for the century 21 halftime show we're gonna get situated we'll bring you the second half of this eagles and oilers matchup right after this [Music] [Applause] football here is the eagles are going to be taking the opening kickoff we'll see if that offense is going to run it down the throats if they're going to get it through the air and like we've talked before the the blue jays are where it all starts and we have president steve bieber with us tonight steve thanks for coming up thanks for having me so we talk a lot about vaguely and mcconaughey they're the two skilled guys and they started however many years ago mcconaughey the quarterback vaguely was the running back last week we got to see that and it all starts with you guys down at the lower level so tell me about your numbers that you got this year and your coaching staff and what you're expecting because i think you only have one loss in the first three weeks uh correct out of all all the the freshman sophomore jv and varsity we have one loss we are we have one of the biggest turnouts right now at about 107 players that we've had in quite some time it's looking like we're on the uptick that's what we like to see that's what we definitely like to see is the varsity i think we only have 39 guys on the roster so it's good to see the numbers up down at the lower level saigon there with the kick return caught a little bit of a pooch kick so everybody's keeping it out of the hands of the athletic kyle mcconaughey so you said one loss so you got four teams playing every weekend so then what are you sitting at eight and one right now seven something like that yeah so that's that's a pretty awesome feat and uh they're putting some points up all across the board it seems like every team we've got our homecoming game this sunday where all four teams are going to be playing starting at 10 o'clock eagles are going to have tight end right sniffer back right going to be a run to the right side with mcconaughey he's going to cut up field gain about four and get near midfield as the eagles have good starting field position once again so homecoming what does that entail i believe it's a bunch of partying pretty much right pretty much yep we'll have the concessions going we'll have uh some of the the past members board members and and other uh athletes that have played for us attend and we're going to have all four teams playing on one day which usually we split up saturday and sundays same formation and looks like the same play once again and this time sniffed out by the oilers so you talk about your board members they're pretty big but also your coaches it looks like you got two three four coaches at every level and in our video that we showed you know they're teaching the fundamentals and you know everybody looks at coach horner and says hey you're doing a great job but in reality it starts with you guys you got to show them how to tackle and do everything from the start gotta take that six-year-old teach them a three-point stance yeah how to carry a ball you know it's uh teaching the love of the game that's really what it's all about in the fundamentals and then they can build off going forward try the hard count there for the eagles saigon didn't get them to budge gonna move mcconaughey to the left side of vaguely gonna be a pass play they're gonna look to the flat try to get the middle of the field where they got meginson and it's over the hands of the defender and through the hands of meganson look like it hit him in the in the arms could have been a catchable ball very much so and it would have been a huge gain maybe even a touchdown so yeah how do you take a six-year-old and say hey here's a three-point stance and all he wants to do is roll around in the grass and right he just wants to hang out so what's about legos and fortnite that's all they want to do so what's the key in getting everybody to focus we always joke it's hurting kittens you know that's that's what it is you've got to keep them uh engaged you got to split them up in groups everybody you can't have that that uh what you can with older kids where they're kind of watching and learning from watching they've got to be engaged they're going to be doing something if not you're going to lose them the attention span is definitely short vaguely with another booming spiraling punt is going to fall at the 11 and it's going to be almost downed we were there once again denny tries making the diving play but the ball goes into the end zone and it's going to be a touch back so you are the sophomore coach correct and so you guys are sitting what eight nine years old i believe yeah third and fourth graders uh eight to ten um and uh we've got a pretty good number we got 30 kids so now you got to get 30 kids into the ball game correct that is a chess match in itself every every game day so you've got four coaches with you and how many coaches do you typically keep on each team do you try every team has usually at least four uh no more than six is league roles oilers are going to take over from their own 20 with 10 25 remaining on the quarry pharmacy scoreboard here at the multi-purpose field trips to the right side they're going to run it to the left two eagles out there got to make a play and they do looks like meganson in on the tackle for no gain at all so if a kid wants to get in obviously it's a little too late to play this year but do they need to go to a website to sign up do you have sign ups and registration throughout the year how does that work absolutely we usually do a early sign up in july june july and then that will cut off and then we'll have another walk up at the end of july beginning of august usually the first week of august is when practices start second and nine for the oilers eagles got everybody up in the box it's going to be hand off to number 24.
[Music] so scenario here brett that we'd we'd be talking about for columbus north they can take shots in the end zone if they do get a first down they have to get inside the 20 it looks like according to the sticks it is second and 15. uh that would stop the clock allow them to spike it and potentially get a field goal unit or even a couple shots in the end zone and then a field goal does look like north is keeping the same personnel in so we will see kind of what strategy they take in terms of of getting getting the ball i think i think we have some communication up here on the clock 29 seconds remain right now so enough time still to do some things to put some points on the board but it does get a little bit more complicated still have two downs really to work with here see what they do [Music] as mentioned it's homecoming here at max anders field so we'll have an extended home or a half time rather for those homecoming festivities again i said before nick but it's great to see coveter non cove but it's great to see a whole bleacher full of fans here hammond's back to pass rolling to his right he's got time he's throwing to tyler blyth that's a good reception at the 23-yard line that clock's gonna run and it is running quickly up to line scrimmage 15 seconds now on the clock no timeouts hammons will spike it in 12 seconds on the clock and that's gonna be fourth down on the 23 yard line let's see there's no personnel change yet here from the bulldog so it looks like the offense will stay on the field i don't know nick well enough what what the range is of of guest but my guess is it's going to be just a tick outside of 38 yards or whatever this kick would be so here we go last play at least for the bulldogs here 2x2 formation he's got pressure he's got a lot of pressure ball in the end zone and it's caught that's caught by keegan castaner over the top of two bloomington south panthers cast center comes up big no flags on the field 5.1 on the clock and the bulldogs have extended the lead 20 to 10.
it's going to be sniffed out right away by owen brewer and jay mister how many guys out here on the field right now were blue jay players so we were talking about this uh it's kind of amazing to watch them do the nebraska prayer before the game and i know exactly where that started with coach o'brien at the blue blue jay level um the first time i had seen it my oldest uh donovan was in seventh grade and they just everybody's carried that on and it's kind of a cool tradition it gives you goosebumps when you listen to it third down and seven you think coach g is bringing the house here gonna be a pass play to the right side number 17 is going to catch it and lose his balance it's a good thing he did because i think if he would have turned it upfield he might have got it [Music] good pursuit there by the eagles missler chasing the quarterback down we've got 8 45 remaining here in the third quarter talking with president of the blue jays steve steve bieber we'll see what happens here on this fourth down and three [Applause] one fan trying to get into it can't get anybody to follow six guys on the line of scrimmage here comes a seventh here comes an eighth they're going to run the football to the right side and they're not gonna get it gonna be another huge stop by the eagles defense led by owen brewer and that's somebody this year we've said his name a bunch it was a nice stop so in a night like tonight blue jay night you get with coach horner and the high school and everybody how cool is it the night's about you guys it's about the junior cheerleaders it's about the little ones and that's who's building the program so how cool is it for all of them to come out here it's fantastic have a good relationship with coach horner in the organization and these kids think that this is the coolest thing ever you know it's coming down being able to run through the tunnel like the big boys empty back field for the eagles we're going to have mcconaughey down the middle of the field mcconaughey's by himself and it's going to be intercepted in the end zone they're going to bring it out to number 22.
right quarterback got rushed out of the pocket there under pressure throws across his body which you know you're not supposed to do two defenders jump in front of the wide receiver both of them miss it and it just happens to go into the wide receiver's hands for a touchdown what a big play and if the bulldogs do oh they missed the extra point so the brett i don't know if you've looked at the past balloon and south scores but five seconds left before half here and no other team that bloomington south has faced has put more than 20 points on him so good start for columbus north and again we get the ball back to uh start the third quarter so what a great ending again building on this momentum for columbus north as we head into halftime what what a play yeah we talked about it earlier and not certainly not to consider this game to be over by any means but um bloomington south came in here with a lot of confidence they've they've beaten conference teams you just have to play your conference not you know can't fault them for that but we predicted that they would they'd have their hands a little more full here of bulldogs and uh you know maybe what the what the records indicate and that seems to be the case here so far 20 to 10 five seconds on the clock you would expect some sort of squib kick here from coach scruggs and the bulldogs certainly want to keep it out of those athletes hands that are that are deep especially number 11 um cooper fox who seems like he's got 91 receptions so far in the in the first half i'll find out how many receptions he has for sure because coach pat mckee from whatever exotic place in the world he is right now is watching the stream and taking stats and he'll text those over here so after half time we'll uh we'll give you some half time or some first half stats as well thanks coach mckee so we'll see what the bulldogs choose to do here with the ball and depending on how bloomington south plays it they may get one play out of it they take a quick knee it is a squib kick across the middle and fox will get at this time at the 15 yard line and he's gonna be wrapped up at the 30 and the clock will run out and that'll end our first half here at max anders field 20 to 10 bulldogs lead and i'm going to let nick talk here for a second i'm going to step away and get involved in homecoming things here so we'll be back right back with you all right so as we uh head into halftime here it is 20 to 10 columbus more north bulldogs over the number three 5a blue into south panthers and again brett said it was an extended half time so it is actually a 20 minute halftime and they haven't started rolling the clock it looks like we'll get to here from the wonderful sound and spirit of north as they brought home some trophies i know in their last uh invitational so that's a great job great start for them and they have already started the homecoming parade as well dr bozeman daughter's actually in one of the homecoming floats so he has a bunch of family here that he went down to see so coming back in the second half we'll hopefully see columbus north continue to try to take those shots over the top which they've had great success with keep balanced attack and then we'll see kind of what bloomington south has to answer on their offensive end if they if they have their full team or not and hopefully you know we'd like to see number two david out there for bloomington south we'll see if that happens in the second half great half so what we're going to do is we're going to let the audio run outside as the halftime goes and we'll pick it up in about looks like 19 minutes or so and thanks for joining us [Music] me [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] she has been known to do this [Music] we'd like to thank once again [Music] university [Music] uh [Music] is [Music] is [Music] is [Music] is [Music] he is [Music] quarterback [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] um [Music] is [Applause] [Music] todd [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] i think oh [Music] um [Music] helpful [Music] publicly [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] wow [Applause] um [Applause] [Music] what a great job by the sound and spirit of columbus uh if if you are new to seeing the band performance this is the first combined north and east band that i believe columbus has had continue to be oppressed with the musical talent that is in columbus there's a violin solo some great sets very creative arrangements fantastic job to all of those students i know i know the hours that they put in they practice outside of our building and and are really there seems to be day and night and i actually have two nieces in the uh marching band as well so as we get ready for the second half we do have some stats that we're able to share with you um columbus north again on top 20 to 10 as we start the second half redmond has six carries for 64 yards hammond's 10 for 15 196 yards and three touchdowns great half by uh really both of our playmakers in the backfield cast at her three receptions 108 yards two touchdowns long of 66 and then there's a handful of other bulldogs uh blyth has three receptions for 15 and horn redmond burton and scruggs all have chipped in receptions as well columbus north has 264 yards at half if we look at bloomington south they have 158 yards at half as we knew uh coming into this game they don't hide their best players so and they you know they like to go to them so as we look at the stats for bloomington south uh leading in rushing is hogue with 10 carries for 50 yards which is a pretty good average there's been several other bloomington south panther panthers carrying the ball at quarterback both of them of the quarterbacks that we saw pretty efficient six for eight and three for four uh as we have the sophomore in there right now um coming back out the second half we'll see if that continues and then receiving wise we knew cooper fox was their their main target coming in and again at halftime he has five receptions 66 yards and a touchdown looks like four other bloomington south panthers have yardage but all just on one reception so they have done a good job spreading the ball around to uh their weapons but great half by columbus north we're about a minute and 10 to start the second half potentially the teams are just coming onto the field now as the band is cleared so they may actually give them a little bit more time um we've got it down to a minute now but teams are just coming down to warm up so we'll see how much time they give them to warm up yeah it looks like they'll probably put five more minutes back up as we get ready for the second half so again uh columbus north getting it going against again the number three 5a team blooming south panthers undefeated on top of the conference right now while north still has two conference games left after this one this would be a huge win as as they take care of business against the conference opponents and defend their conference title from last year coach bless has to be happy at half we we thought both coach bless is really offensive and defensive coordinators uh but what we what we thought coming into this game it would be a defensive battle and and really there's been some big plays on offense uh the flea flicker uh long passes over the top and kind of the the wide receiver for bloomington south that was able to roll over one of our defenders keep his balance and keep on his feet to get down there for that for the field goal but really good job so far by columbus north and i'm looking forward to hopefully another entertaining second half here well thanks nick i stepped away for a while for homecoming but i got a few text messages that said you were you were talking about the marching band which of course is combined this year with north and east and the sound of columbus which does a great job congratulations to homecoming queen samantha wilkinson from the senior class for north also congratulations while we're working through a list here of the columbus north bulldog tennis team boys tennis team sectional champions after a 5-0 victory over east today so a lot of good things happening uh here at columbus north a quick quick announcement there's an event coming up on october 5th columbus north volleyball meet the team night at columbus north high school at the main gym invite to middle school middle school players free admission to the to the contest get to meet the team meet the coaches take a quick tour of the facility offerings here at columbus north so anybody uh connected to any middle school volleyball players invite them out for for an open house here at columbus north about a minute to go here before we um start the second half and nick as i came in i think you're going through the the stat line thanks again to coach pat mckee for viewing the live stream providing those stats for us here to to work through and get us ready for the second half and i've been trying to find some scores there's only one other conference game terre haute north versus southport that game started late because southport had to travel to terre haute but looked like terre haute at least had one touchdown at least all i can find on twitter columbus east has a really tough opponent in chatard tonight and again i can't find an official score but looks like chatard has uh chatard has put up a couple on columbus east they have to be close to halftime or at halftime so hopefully columbus east can come back in that game as that one gets going again so there are zeros on the clock teams are headed to the sideline again it is an extended half time so teams do have a little bit more time to adjust and let players kind of water up and and kind of see what adjustments are going to be made in the second half it will be interesting to see columbus north's done a great job with those open field tackles against bloomington south but again they have a great opportunity here getting the ball back the second half and hopefully can put points on the board again and columbus north has to be happy with their their balance that they're able to come out in the first half and dylan redman i got swallowed up a few times but able to move the ball on the ground pretty effectively of course um you know call call it what you will broken coverage or or good play fakes or what have you but uh with north be able to spring a few deep passes and one came back from a penalty but coach bless has to be happy coming out of that locker room with ten point lead in this critical conference indiana matchup scruggs back deep he's gonna receive that ball at the four yard line for north start the third quarter he's gonna bring it right up the middle of the field and gets swallowed up and gets out to about the 24 yard line that's where north will start with the ball as you recall they deferred they won the toss to begin the game but it deferred the second half so uh certainly a good strategy there to start with the ball here up 10 points going in third quarter now these two programs have played fundamental football on every aspect of the game and that's been no different on special teams good coverage by bloomington south there and and really a good wedge by columbus north just not being able to break it heyman on a quick pass to cooper horn out into the open field is across the 40-yard line knocked out of bounds sheds a defender as he runs out of bounds and uh that's that's that's cooper horn he's the first time uh football player here for the bulldogs and basketball stand out for columbus north and gotta kind of be excited about that and appreciate the reciprocal relationship that that coaches have here that to really openly share good athletes between between sports and what that's what it's all about give this to redmond here he's going to come up the field and that offensive line gets a good push about five or six yards and redman is going to keep his feet all the way down to about the 47 yard line will be second and four really couldn't ask for a better start off the first two plays for north again a great shifty play by the wide receiver to make a defender miss and then o-line really enforcing its will on the d-line there and running back turning his legs keep those legs going to get yards so we run it again up the middle and look at that o-line push it is going to be third manageable here about 32 after that run up the middle nick i know you went through the stat sheet for both teams i have time to really really balance between between the two if you if you put your put your hand over the top of the category to see which team it is eight first down versus nine 68 rushing yards versus 61 really balanced both ways so no play there by the dogs and movement from the panthers but nobody got in the neutral zone or caused an infraction so now the play call comes in off the sideline corners will squeeze they gave us to redmond he's across the 50 down about the 46 enough to move the sticks another first down that's a big conversion for columbus north on third down again getting some hard-earned yards up the middle if you uh have watched columbus north they were able to get i believe it was a cathedral game where they got several offsides off their hard count uh and north trying that again blue to south again well-coached team i'm sure have seen plenty of tape and if those d-linemen have been warned they did jump a little bit but not offsides so good conversion by columbus north there trips in the uh the field side here motion and ham is going to keep the ball up the middle this time and pick up about two yards or so down to that looks like a pretty good spot at the 44 yard line scruggs comes into the field now and bring up second and second and six just want to mention a special thanks and recognition to uh brian lewis the athletic team here jason perry and all the north high school administration team david clarke john green jennifer hester there's a lot a lot of time and effort that goes into planning of homecoming parades and activities for kids and you know they don't just turn the lights on and open the gates and flood everybody in here so screen pass out here to cooper horn it's gonna be down to about the 40 yard line i'll bring up third and about three bro again that was a good outside screen uh balloon south did a good job of getting hats out there to not let it go for a first down we're about third and four it'll be interesting to see if the bulldogs go for it on fourth or punted away at this this field this this kind of position on the field kind of always always get the itch here but hopefully they convert on third down here and we don't have to worry about that two by two formation ball on the left hash third and four 837 redmond into a bubble motion that slant past the keegan cast at or he's going to be swallowed up good tackle there by number 22.
he's one of the running backs in a speedster he's going to nearly get tripped up now he's going to keep his feet moving and what do you know he's going to be brought down by number 65 you look at coach horner there talking to vaguely i think if he would have thrown that ball right off the bat nobody was around mcconaughey he waited a little bit too long resulting in the pick but i like the play there you get the big fourth down stop go for the end zone absolutely take the shot so the oilers are going to take back over at the 37-yard line steve thanks for coming up thanks for having me have a good season and we'll get back with you again and we'll try to get some more interest at the blue jay level for you fantastic that's what i like to hear steve beaver the president of the blue jays with us eagles send everybody onto blitz and it's going to be sniffed out right off the bat number 24 has nowhere to go i don't think mistler even knew that he was right there and they were standing face to face with each other coach horner wanted to take a shot there huh first play and he had it about three seconds earlier [Applause] now coach g got to get another stop eagles lead it 21-0 here on the mandy maguire group scoreboard in a week six cahokia conference matchup where the eagles are in a must-win game to keep those playoff hopes alive [Applause] second and ten running back left quarterbacks looking to the left going to be a pass play on a quick hitch and it's going to be a drop good pursuit there by the eagles vaguely was ready to light him up he was playing in this outside linebacker position if that wide receiver caught that ball he was he was going to take a hit there from vaguely and [Applause] chop the ball third down must have heard footsteps third and 10 702 remaining here at the columbia multi-purpose field we ever going to name it something i don't know i don't how could you name it do you name it after a football i think person in the past do you name it after soccer do you name it after a track you got a lot of options yeah you do i know what mine would be i think i would i know what yours would be too doubles the left side quarterback looking to left again mcconaughey took a shot it's gonna be a long pass play for the oilers who are going to get into the end zone [Applause] for a 63-yard touchdown pass to number 17.
jordan told him for b south but not before columbus north has another first down ball rest in the middle of the field at yard line first and ten [Music] and that's the same kind of action that they're having the quarterback read there so they're looking at dassan there they have the option to throw it out wide to the running back but that time we took the hook curl because they took the flat away and again the last time we ran the ball quarterback ran the ball there redmond with the give looking for space he's gonna just dive ahead and get what he can get there we'll give him give him two yards might be one but we'll give it two since this is the hometown feed call it second and eight ball in the 33 yard line clock run 744 dogs lead 20 to 10.
there goes my shutout [Applause] i missed what the route was i was looking at the quarterback he had everybody in his face and he took a shot on the play i think he just ran a straight go route and just ran right by i believe that would be meganson out there on that side so that takes it columbia 21. [Applause] east alton six we'll see what they're gonna do they're gonna go for two it looks like [Applause] same formation we've seen all night with sniffer back sending a man in motion to number one they're gonna hand the ball off to number one he's gonna try to get up field and get in the middle he's gonna be stood up and they're gonna blow it dead and it's gonna be stopped by the eagles defense that was a late whistle so that's going to make it 21-6 with 6 54 remaining in the third quarter we're going to send it to a break and we will be back to the columbia multi-purpose field after this [Music] watch my tables welcome back ladies and gentlemen where the eagles lead the mandy maguire group scoreboard 21-6 over the oilers they kicked a little pooch kick last time caught by saigon we'll see what they're gonna do this time gonna be a pooch kick to the other side this time it is gonna trickle out of bounds mcconaughey was there ready to pick it up if need be so the eagles once again are going to have good starting field position and something that we've dominated all night tonight we haven't really been backed up at all looks like they're doing a re-kick [Applause] i knew that i think you can either take it from the 40 or a re-kick right if it goes out of balance i don't know and now they kick it from the 35.
good to see the dogs get get the ball in cooper horn's hands here quite a bit today and able to spread the feel and extend the field with keegan casteter keegan has a lot of carries catches this here but not many deep balls and he's had plenty of opportunities today to use his legs and his speed to their advantage rather than with the carry here across the 25 yard line that's gonna be just a hair short of the first down call it third and one bulldogs quickly up the line still in that two by formation expect a quick give here to redmond again b south won't jump offsides here from the hard counts the call comes in off the sideline same formation no motion hammond's going to keep it this time and he got away from one tackle should be enough for a first down if they give him good progress and they do and he's moving the sticks for a first down did nice job by the columbus north o line coach carr sure has got to be happy with them so far in the performance of this game they they have really tight splits right now which just means that they're not spreading out you can you can put some space in between your offensive linemen and kind of spread out those d line but i don't know if this is an adjustment at half or if they i'm just noticing it now so they may have started the game like it but the the offensive line is pretty tight together keeping those d-linemen in there and finding some success hammond's under pressure he's going to scramble out to the boundary side he's going to try to squeeze that ball in there i believe that scruggs by himself on the boundary like he's kind of running a skinny post corner out but falls incomplete no harm no foul will be second and second 10 from the 24.
so we'll try this again let's see if mcconaughey can pick this one up it's going to be an onside kick this time picked up by nobody else but owen brewer [Applause] owen brewer the senior he's going to be in just about every play it seems like and it's going to be somebody we're going to have to have to fill in next year but he's making his presence known this year once again let us know where you're listening from and watching from coach sandstrom mentioned that it's going to be awesome having his parents be able to watch the games from three and a half hours away and it's what we enjoy about doing this doubles to the right side sniffer back right pistol back is mcconaughey it's going to be a handoff up the middle and nowhere to go for mcconaughey as he is hit right at the line of scrimmage now looks i look straight at the sideline after that play and you saw travis anson wasn't wasn't really uh happy with that one coach jameson working with the line a lot someone must miss a block there on a pull that was just a simple uh we see that play all the time just a simple little inside inside zone with uh mcconaughey and someone must have missed a block there so [Applause] mcconaughey wanted to go empty he's going to go back by vaguely under 10 seconds on the play clock gonna be a wheel route it looks like we got the middle of the field open again it's going to be caught by hicks he's going to be brought down after a gain of six and that's going to bring up a manageable third down and four vaguely was looking to go deep there to mcconaughey it looked like mcconaughey and he looked like he had meganson over here and i think that's why mcconaughey was thinking he would uh go an empty position so he'd already be out there in that position because from him in that running back position you're kind of not giving it away as much as you are as uh when you're in a wide receiver position 5 30 remaining in the third quarter eagles lead it 21-6 third and four going to be a straight hand off to mcconaughey he's going to follow his backers he's gonna get enough for a first down he's gonna be brought down in bounds it's gonna be first down eagles good job by mistler they're sealing that edge and giving mcconaughey a place to run [Music] same formation same play mechanic he's gonna bust it to the outside once again he's going to get another five seven yards and bring up a second two you going for it here second and two take a shot you saw vaguely throw an interception uh earlier just because he didn't throw it early enough but i think uh i think you're staying on the on the ground here with mcconaughey these last two three plays he's uh looked pretty good with the line blocking in front of him so i'd give him a chance to punch another one and then if slurs out wide it's going to be a stretch played in mechanic you know it's not it's going to be a run to vaguely who's going to make a great attempt at running over a guide he's going to be tripped up and it's going to bring up a first down and ten inside the red zone [Applause] [Music] first and ten for the eagles from the 12.
i want to mention a congratulations quickly to the middle school programs i believe central middle school has one more game coming up next week but they've they've only lost one game this year the eighth grade team a lot of a lot of good athletes on that central middle school charter football team this year so congratulations to them north side finished their schedule this past wednesday hammond's looking deep now for cast deader touchdown bulldogs 20 24 yard pitch and catch from hammonds to guess who number one keegan castetter for another score and the dogs extend the lead to 26 to 10. and again bulldogs finding luck going deep and over the top of bloomington south castnetter i believe that's his third touchdown of the the evening adding to his 108 yard total on that another great play extra point is up and good what a great answer for columbus north 27 to 10.
4 22 remaining in the third quarter and the week six matchup between the two and three eagles and one in four oilers trips to the right side only five guys in the box now for the oilers gonna be a handoff right up the middle who's gonna be met right away as mcconaughey but he keeps his feet moving they're still moving they're moving his way into the end zone for a columbia eagles touchdown [Applause] [Music] once again a late call by the officials i gave it to mcconaughey and i don't even know if the officials knew that it's a touchdown so mcconaughey keeps his feet moving and gets into the end zone takes it to 27-6 good snap good hold vaguely takes it to 28-6 [Music] we got for scores here tonight jared at the half central was leading salem 7-0 waterloo is beating jerseyville 21-8 with four minutes to go that's a team we'll play at the end of the year isn't it jerseyville and we still got so who else we could still get on the schedule so we got salem we go to salem next week and we got breeze at home and then at jersey vote then at jerseyville got to get the five wins as the magic number to get you playoff eligible then it depends on the playoff points and i think we should have enough playoff points which is your opponent's wins added up freeberg's leading roxanna 27-7 that was 7-6 roxanna 21 unanswered points by freebird highland league civic memorial and columbia leads east alton wood river vaguely sends it deep and it will be down at the four and go into the end zone where the oilers will take over from the 20-yard line three minutes and 58 seconds remaining if i can look at the stats real quick vaguely he's been putting the ball in the end zone more times than not it seems like lately yeah the first week or two we were talking about how the returning team would get the ball almost to midfield if not the opposing 40.
bloomington south has come into this this game only giving up an average of 14 and a half points so this is new territory for the blueton south team it'll be interesting to see how they come out and respond on offense and and at this point they have not given up more than 20 points all year in uh in a game so at 27 bulldogs offense has to be and again coach bless has to be pretty happy uh with their execution on offense uh and again really really solid performance so far yeah keegan's good as i mentioned a minute ago getting him down the field and and sure enough there it is again it's good to see keegan getting opportunities deep show his speed uh doing a great job i mean those those are not poorly defended passes that he's up against those balls are just just landed right in there where they should be and and that one actually keegan bobbled for a second and was able to bring it in three scores so far for keegan cassidy he only has two touchdowns so far in the on the season and three tonight uh breakout game here for the senior before that score i was mentioning a quick congratulations to the northside middle school football team seventh grade they had their final game on wednesday and won their first game against jennings county and eighth grade also with their final game finished her season three and three the eighth grade team uh had beaten a previously undefeated jennings county team at jennings county uh jennings county finished 7-1 after that defeat to the north side and both those teams have really come a long way and improved greatly this year that ball's taking up the 11 yard line he's got room down the sideline but he's dragged down at about the 34 yard line and that's where panthers will start first and ten 603 here on the clock in the third quarter 27-10 dogs lead we are looking for uh zach david number two if he's out there after half or if it is the sophomore and it is so ali is back for bloomington south uh at quarterback to start their second half third quarter drive 603 left in this quarter it didn't seem like they gave up a lot of athleticism by moving to their backup quarterback this sophomore as you said earlier nick not a whole lot of reps varsity time this year but he he did not look uncomfortable in that first half this gave his to hogan he's going to pick up about two yards he'll be second nate balling 35-yard line 536 enrolling here in the third quarter and that time that time dawson adams dawson got big dawson moving in one direction and there's no stopping at that point so he came across the line that hard count made contact so bloomington south we get a free five out of that bring up second and four from the from the 40-yard line i would expect bloomington south to run their quarterback a little more on that kind of rap check with uh hogue there he did find some space coming out the other side so we'll continue to watch that i know this quarterback is a little more comfortable running you're right nick that's exactly what happens here ali gets outside uh about a gain of five there gets swallowed up by i believe that's tyler blythe it is tyler blythe playing both ways here for the bulldogs and connor essec also on the tackle bring up first and ten from the 45 yard line 512 and rolling here on the clock [Music] south comes out trips with the tight end ball on the right hash fake is to the back pressure now on ali and he's going to be wrapped up pressure by neil likens but the sack made by dawson adams that's gonna move him back to be second and 13 now that's a good job of columbus north keeping him in the pocket and you can tell he he definitely has the instinct to take off and run whereas you may have seen their other quarterback david try to look downfield and complete a pass there tight end motion here for [Music] give us to the back and he's going to be swallowed up at about the 44 yard line that's hogue again on the carry the 5 8 180 senior getting a lot of majority of the carriers here in the third quarter another good pursuit and stop there by savion banks who comes out for a for a breather savion was he was the kicker two weeks ago if you recall nick i i i know that story i'm not going to share it but i know that story made me smile because i know savion on his family he used to have him in school good to see him out there pressure on ali and the ball is thrown across the middle dangerously and hits the turf that's going to bring up fourth and 11.
so it's good it's good to start off your defense out on the 20-yard line and not give the other team good field position to start off their drive vaguely averaging 50 yards 49.5 yards a kick and punting for 40 yards a kick again that's another skewed number he's getting 66 yards one time and 30 the next doing good on the special team side of the football empty back field this time for the oilers they're going to send the sniffer back to a running back and a timeout eastern [Applause] we're going to send it down to our on-field reporter and adam adam with meyer wibbs what was the uh the feeling coming out of the locker room here in the second half they seemed pretty excited they had a fresh start um obviously half didn't go the way they wanted to but struggling to get but it's like they're getting to pick it up now and stopped it stopped you off until you saw a move that's exactly what we need to do and you look at vaguely they're looking looking deep throws the pick but then you know still doesn't matter we get into the end zone 28-6 here jared expected the shutout tonight gives up that big play and that's something the eagles haven't really done this year is giving up the big play and that's something coach jermaine just doesn't do either eagles are going to be defense first down and 10 for the oilers gonna run the ball right up the middle not going to get anything wibbs it's a good job this year by the eagles doing nothing but gang tackling and uh that makes it a little bit easier if you get one guy on the ball and you got six guys following it makes tackling pretty easy yeah especially [Music] they got some they got some big kids on each other they're in taking down one of those dudes by yourself ain't an easy task it's just so much better with when you got two three four even five guys i'm the same guy at the same time so second and ten here on the play you expecting a pass here out of east alton or you think they're going to run the football again what are you thinking he's got zach daley down there with him in his ear oh yeah doubles to the left side running back left eagles are going to send a blitz they're going to pass to the left side and it's going to go through the hands [Applause] of the intended receiver third down and 10.
there's a nice pressure applied by carson on that one really got the quarterback out of the pocket had to make a quick throw and just it just wasn't accurate enough to make that completion so it is fourth down and it does look like they are going to punt 3 44 left in the third quarter sam kosner onto punt for bloomington south that first time south has had the ball here in the second half and they they really needed to put something together they got to be a little that balls off the side of his foot and out of bounds for that's uh that's an incredibly short punt and the side judge going to walk that back that's going to net uh six yards [Music] just off the side of his foot and that ball was going nowhere quickly as i was talking there bloomington south really needed to come out of the gate there and move the ball with some success but just unable to i don't know how much you attribute that to starting quarterback being out but uh nonetheless bulldogs take the ball over here on their own 49 yard line first and 10 38 here to go the ball is on the left hash one back is redmond and the white hat will start the play clock hammonds will fake that he's looking downfield he's looking for cooper horn he's got a hurry to get there and that's good it's going to be incomplete second 10.
do you think the eagles are going to try to get in the end zone one more time before the third quarter's over with i think i think they're gonna try that they got three at the 20-yard line they're going to stop here and coach warner's offense they could definitely get in the end zone all right well we'll get back with you one more time in the fourth quarter that's adam wiebemeyer our on-field reporter here tonight [Applause] gonna be a third and ten trips to the right side empty backfield gonna have three guys coming at us and it's gonna be a counter play that's gonna be sniffed out by jay missler read that like a book didn't he like a children's book and yeah i think he was sitting right over that tackle and that that tackle was pulling and that that backside running back kind of stayed there after the after the snap was called and didn't really move and then he went and got the hand off and jay mister was just standing there ready for him to run through that hole and bring up a fourth down fourth and nine for the oilers 2 30 remaining in the third quarter punter gets a somewhat of a spiral off and it's going to be downed by coach kendall right at the 50 yard line acts like nothing ever happened that's a coach kendall move just catch it as it hits the ground and just walk away like he was supposed to be there so the eagles are going to take over in oiler territory with 224 remaining on the corey pharmacy clock here at the multi-purpose field i think you take a shot here you're you're within distance of making it i'm running the clock down you're taking the clock down yeah i like points especially whenever i had it 30 or no what i have 41 13 i need a couple more points double the left side running back to the right we're going to fake the hand off to the left vaguely going to keep the block right there he's going to make one man miss he's got enough for a first down he's going to get inside boiler territory make it to about the 28 on a very good run by vaguely look like carter hicks might have missed a block out there but vaguely made a miss and picked up the first down move us inside the 30-yard line see if we can put another six up here before uh fourth quarter comes upon us trips to the left side gonna be a stretch play coming here if i had to guess you look how far mistler is and it's gonna be a stretch play to the left side mcconaughey's gonna have to make one man miss and get slung to the ground great play by number 35 making the tackle how's the dylan hildebrand tackle right there every single i swear every time we we played the game of football that dude literally just grabbed you by your shoulder pad and just throw you on the ground he never wanted to wrap up that would hurt too because you get slung to the ground i'd rather get hit by the guy than that hit that hit on the ground does not not feel very good empty backfield for the eagles saigon's the far out receiver everybody's looking deep they got a man in the end zone it's mechanical and it's incomplete half a yard too far that would have been a heck of a grab that's your chance to make it on sc top 10 right there could you imagine if one of our calls got on there unlike the sports center top ten and we're calling it up here it could happen we got to see if mr nickerson will send them off to you for us that'd be pretty awesome looks like a little bit of the crowd trickled his way out most of that crowd in that beginning was those cheerleaders and the blue jay kids uh start off the night third and sixth for the eagles doubles the left side sniffer back left gonna be a run play with vaguely he's gonna keep it he's gonna make a spin move going to try to make a juke and he's going to get enough for a first down as he is down at the 15 yard line good for another columbia eagles first down and when you run those rpos there you got three options there i mean you can hand it off to mcconaughey there vagley which he does a lot of the time pulls it and keeps it and runs the opposite way or the third outlet on that is sometimes you have a wide receiver kind of floating in the middle of the middle of the field like a little stick route or a little drag route across the middle doubles gonna be quick hitches this one caught by colin sagan keeps his feet moving and he's wrapped up right away good tackle it's good for four yards cj schlemmer comments listening from the aces wild headquarters he's getting ready for that uh coming up i have work but maybe after come get some lunch yeah i could second and six eagles trying to punch it into the end zone once again we're looking into the end zone it's going to be a slant to carter hicks he's going to get to the five to the three and he's going to be brought down and give the eagles a first and goal and i think that's going to do it for the third quarter there's only 15 seconds remaining [Applause] the official lines the clock i don't think coach horner sees how much time is on the clock now you got coach germain in his ear telling him let it go to quarter coke [Music] and that's going to do it at the end of three quarters the eagles lead the oilers on the mandy maguire group 28-6 we will be back with fourth quarter action right after this [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen for fourth quarter action here in a cahokia conference matchup and a must win for the eagles and they're taking care of business up 28 to six let's win gotta get those playoff implications are all over the place right now we got the three losses you can get in at five and four but it's not pretty if you do all the time if we get to that six and three it's possible gotta win out gotta take care of business here tonight first doubles running back left first and goal from the three gonna be a pass play on a quick hook and it's caught by colin saigon touchdown eagles [Music] vaguely taking his time getting set good snap good hold that's a soaring kick through the uprights hey man those kickers got to get it got to get it right every step matters let's walk back there and kick it that takes the manny mcguire group scoreboard eagles 35 oilers of east alton six cheerleaders got their work cut out for him tonight i'm just saying folks i had that 34-13 prediction we're sitting at 35-6 will you give it to me if i'm off by a point yeah i appreciate it we got to give up one more touchdown i don't want to do that [Applause] [Music] even got a couple blue jay guys down there tonight going to get the t after every kickoff so i remember i used i used to do that back in the day and i'd be so scared to run out there trip and fall and i'd be like oh all the fans are going to see me they were all watching you the entire time so vaguely is going to send it deep from left to right this time kicking towards the scoreboard and another long kick that's going to be caught at the one gonna be returned by east alton they're going to try to get up the middle of the field gonna be great job tackling there by the eagles number 17 jacobs sam denny was down there and there was another guy who got his hands wrapped around by number three zach wetzel getting the tackle the freshman mason vaguely getting in on the tackle as well not bad when you have a junior and dominic vaguely is your quarterback and the freshman and mason maybe is your backup you think there's some rivalries happening at home there oh yeah with x-man he's even oh yeah a couple years younger than that too doubles to the left side tight end right sniffer back wing back right wing backs the motion man columbia read that motion and they tried to stop him and they ran underneath and it's a fumble on the plate it's going to be recovered by the eagles fumble recovery by the eagles [Applause] [Music] officials getting together now and it's going to be eagles football joe kish with that recovery too big 75 playing right tackle on the offensive side and something that we have that a lot not a lot of other teams have in this conference is a couple big guys that can play both sides of the ball i mean you got a couple of linemen that can also play defensive side i mean you got grant matheny kaczynski you got a bunch of guys that can play both lines which is can be very beneficial mcconaughey is going to go up the middle he's going to get a couple yards he's going to keep his feet moving he's going to get a couple more he's gonna get eight he was stopped at second and eight now we got a second and two great job keeping your feet moving kyle [Music] 11 minutes remaining in the ball game doubles to the left side tight end left is missler [Applause] vagley's going to let the clock run down we're under 10 seconds now on the play clock running back to the left gonna be a high snap brought down gonna be a play action caught by mistler he's got a lot of using meganson he lets his man go he doesn't get the hold touchdown missler dives and stopped at the one meganson with a pancake block over there and that job by letting him go and not getting hold on the play yeah and that's that's that's the biggest block on that play because if no one makes a block on that corner mistlers that corners licking his chops for missler coming right at him when his head he'll have to swing his whole head around after he catches that ball so that block out there really matters and great job by meganson to put him on his butt and get to the one yard line so first and goal from the one he looked like he reached for the pylon though didn't his knee must have been down we need that pylon view that's what nickerson needs now he needs to put a pylon cam over there time out on the play the pylon can if your business would like to sponsor any of the athletic events or the fine arts events contact coach horner at the school and talk to him on how to become a sponsor or a donor we have started taking for the band and choir concerts i believe there's a couple plays too so if you want to be the feature sponsor get a hold of coach horner and we'll get you some advertising space or if you want to stick with sports i'm sure we'll get some going for the winter sports the spring sports like we said earlier we're going to do about 10 or so boys basketball and girls basketball games oh we're doing girls basketball too huh i believe so i don't know for sure but i know we're doing boys and i think they were talking trying to get the girls going as well so coming out of the timeout eagles are going to have first down and goal from the one and a beautiful fall night here in columbia the rain has held off so far tonight [Applause] hopefully it holds off tomorrow for you too got that rib or for you guys let's punch [Applause] break the huddle they're going to go heavy formation heavy to the right side turn around hand it off to mcconaughey who's going to try to get it to the outside he's going to have to outrun a man and he does and he gets in for another columbia eagles touchdown ran 15 yards to get one yard [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i guess you could say he likes bouncing it out a little bit yeah every now and then yeah how many times has he stayed between the tackles he thinks this year oh man i mean when he bounces it out though he makes guys miss and he reverses field great on his feet and great vision mcconaughey with his second or third touchdown of the night good snap good hold another booming kick and that takes us with 10 minutes and 36 seconds remaining on the corey pharmacy scoreboard eagles 42 east alton wood river six so now both of our predictions are wrong maybe one week we will alex maybe one week see if i can find some more scores here around the area chester beats carlisle 55-0 wow to improve to five and one chester beat freeburg earlier this year as well moscuda leading triad 21-3 i can't find that um central and salem score anywhere it was 27-7 but oh no 7-0 vaguely's going to send it deep once again with 10 36 remaining in the ball game kicks the t this time and it's going to be a muff at the 21 it's still bouncing around and finally it's recovered at about the 17.
that was pretty good coverage by bloomington south they actually had four guys deep across the field so uh seeing some adjustments out of uh their defense as we've had some success throwing over the top yeah that pump bret that we've seen some really good punts out of that balloon to south punter throughout the night but that one just came off his foot wrong almost hit a columbus north cheerleader there in the track but hopefully north can capitalize on this good field position yeah if north can put up another score here it's going to be hard for blemish and south and raleigh uh a return redmond with the carry he's got panthers on his back but he carries them still across the 50 down about the 47 yard line that'll bring up third and call it a heavy five as they say 315 on the clock as it runs north really doing a good job nick of of reestablishing that line of scrimmage there's just not a lot of penetration and seems like slow and steady and that line of scrimmage just moves in the in the direction the team wearing black out there third down a bunch trips here now that's in the cast edder in jet motion across the field for 2x2 formation let him get set hammonds give it to redmond cross the 45 and that won't be enough for a first down be fourth and three we'll see what coach bless and his staff decides to do here yeah for me that seemed like a play that they were setting up a short fourth down they didn't quite get as many yards as they want they are adjusting personnel but it looks like they are going to go for it with a 3-4 defense that bloomington south is running you really have to have a dominant nose uh and it looks like north is doing a pretty good job handling uh that that middle of the line and getting some success running up the middle and we'll go for a high snap always going to be a quick kick here by hammond and it's going to be actually received by number 34 heads-up play by him he's still looking for room to go gosh i you know we have an advantage here nick of a little bit of delay we get that watch a bit of a replay here and that was a uh so north came out with a hard count and tried to get south to jump they haven't all day you see humans takes two steps back real quick and just just kicks it and number 34 was retreating and just as a super heads-up play for that kid just kind of caught the ball over his shoulder and really saved a lot of field position because that ball was gonna roll i would assume deep into the territory there and um the net result there is a punch of about 28 yards and south will start with the ball in the 27 yard line 155 here in the third quarter dogs lead 27 to 10 against the 5a number three team in the in the state give us to the back hog's got room to go about the 37 yard line and it should be a first down it's a good run by hogue i'm sure they're going to lean on him this second half with his leadership on this very experienced bloomington south team coming into it that was a that was an odd punt brett um it looked like they checked it so i don't know if they were looking for a defensive formation to run a play and it didn't happen and they just decided to have that in there hogue up the middle again got about five yards bryce abner on the tackle that time for the bulldogs ben klein hence on the previous tackle ben as you know part of the klein hence family just deeply rooted in football here in columbus families full of officials and former coaches and i appreciate that family and what they contribute to to the sport hogue with the carry again here he's down to about the call to 44 yard line be third and four o'clock is running below a minute now here in the third quarter both teams still with three timeouts dogs lead 27 to 10.
sam denny's down there he tried getting another fumble recovery so the eagles are going to improve here tonight to three and three coach horner improves to 7-1 and chs have improved 8-1 over east alton river they we used to open with them every year correct whenever they were because i my junior and senior year they we didn't have them on our schedule anymore because we got morton but like previous years i believe that they were like our number one game for five six years there i know we played east all or no i'm sorry only in week one and then the next year they started with east halton yeah in the 2012 season gonna be a handoff once again try to go up the middle and i think it's fumbled on the play nope they're going to call them down so it's going to be a gain of nothing a loss of nothing is there's an injured oiler in on the play we're sitting with 10 18 remaining in the ball game we're gonna head to a break with the injury and we will be back with the remainder of the game after this [Music] so it's a second and 10 10 18 remaining in the ball game clock's going to start on the official gonna be a high snap and it's going to be fumbled on the play and it's going to be covered up by the quarterback [Music] [Applause] looks like we got some of our younger guys coming in now for our starters zach wetzel coming off kish coming off and you've got mistler all those guys already sitting out over here on the bench so next week we will be at salem we're still seeing about a broadcast last year we had some trouble broadcasting there so we're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to make it happen so be on the lookout during the coach's corner on thursday another time after that timeout oilers with 9 26 remaining and you could hear their head coach yelling from from over here but next week holton meets coach's corner will be on thursday night at 6 30.
