Smith tonight I'm gonna get another dose of Smith and the Stallions running attack the clock moving actually Deaton back in the game now Burgess asking for the coaches to call the play second alignment the coaches don't want to call it until the play clock starts and it just started 20 seconds still left on the play clock Burgess with Deaton in there and they wait till 10 seconds before they really set the line the receivers here's Burgess he's going backwards he's looking for someone to throw it to threw it right there wow what a play and presence of mind to get that ball to Burgess and we've got a flag and it may be some unsportsmanlike conduct yeah that has to be what it is it came after the play officials are gonna talk about it it looks like it's gonna go against the maybe stands see we got here I don't know he's talking to you picking up to the flag flag no flag on the play that's nice to see when the officials get together talk about it I like how the guys in the truck and pick the flag up two flags there the flags go it's amazing second and nine instead of the flag see Desmond Eden in the backfield with Burgess and the clock just continuing to run down still 13 seconds on the play clock Stein's in no hurry here not at all inside three minutes they get it to Burgess this surprises me I have to pass oh he's taking off good job to fake the pass there and he got a first down nice tackle on the play we've called Bryce Kazuki's name quite a bit tonight good form tackle just lowers the shoulder right across the numbers how impressive is Connor Burgess he's been great although I think that Coach nursery would tell him they're a great job getting those extra yards stay in bounds yeah clock is stopped 247 and he's still waiting for the play clock but doing what he's told Vince play clock down to seven he takes a snap here comes deep on the outside we got a flag another flag maybe two holds on that play is Deaton thought he had a first down but I think it's all coming back Stein's looking at their bench they know it two coaches telling them we don't need that right now well but the key for coach your Suri is to just keep control that football the last thing Sierra wants right now is a turnover of course that's what the Lancers want absolutely and you know they're tackling the football they're going for that turnover and rightly so Lancers moving back the Stallions 10 yards clock will stop a little late on a school night offense a little late for old guys too now the clocks are running first and 20 play clock at 15 I think those linemen are tired of holding that three-point stance they should probably just get up put their hands on their thighs and wait till 10 seconds yeah on the play clock I was wondering how long it was gonna take for that to happen that's hard to do lady the games it is so Sierra backs up some more liberty is gonna hope for a turnover they'll start the clock again the play clock that is Burgess is still gonna wait for that play clock even though the game clock is not running here comes Deaton up the middle got another hole Lancers bring him down but it's still gonna be second in a long way from home you know how many times have we seen this same play in the second half and yet Liberty cannot stop it good job by this offensive line as you'll see here look at the push again look at 54 getting that steel block on the outside coach told us about Isaac B Hill before the game he said he's one of his stars he's gonna be one that it's gonna help lead this cierra team impressive impressive Ciara team tonight two of five left in the fourth quarter we're gonna take a timeout because the teams have we'll be back with more on xx TV you 2:05 left in this one the Liberty Lancers down 12 and Sierra has the football Burgess and company trying to run out the clock with Desmond Eden in the backfield we need at least one more first down to do that here comes daemon churning churning these DC era runners just do not stop moving their legs and they've seen a lot of action tonight it's an impressive lot tonight you know it's really impressive didn't you tell me they put the decals on their own helmets they did their own helmets is your kind of a team-building event for this team they painted them they put the decals on they created the decals and the part of that is to take ownership take pride and the S on the side of that helmet into a nursery if you're just joining us or haven't joined us since way in the beginning in the game a 2005 graduate of Sierra high school went and played a Youngstown State a very good football program and he's bringing some discipline bringing some heart back to Sierra football once a very tough team and I'm deep into the 30 I told them before we came back up in the press box he looks like he could still play he's in shape he is of course if I was 13 years removed from high school instead of 30-something come on you could still play oh sure yeah for a play mmm maybe as long as I could stand on the outside and not do anything clock running down and this clock will be inside of 30 seconds before this play is over for sure play clock down at 10 now as Burgess milks it this could be the last snap of the game and sure will Burgess takes it and he's gonna run with it he's looking up the field not sure why throws it down there and it is incomplete I guess cuz it was fourth and ten right Lancers would get another Hail Mary try and say they scored on the last one they certainly did and 17.9 seconds separate the Sierra stallions from a victory over the Liberty Lancers this these two teams haven't played in the last seven years last time he played was 2011 Lancers got the victory back then and it's a good test for both these teams and it's a good it makes sense to schedule this as a non-conference game what CR has to drive 12 miles 15 miles up the road to play or vice versa if the Lancers had gone down to play it Harrison high school stadium down there district 2 yep that's district 20 without the 0 very good Brian Musa penny trips to the left divorce key back to pass running for his life right now though he's gonna take it off he's gonna get out of bounds after a first down across the 40 yard line at 10 point 6 seconds left and we got a flag it's a late hit might move the sticks 15 more yards up the field and across the 50 yard line ten point six seconds and dead ball foul personal foul Ciara sure enough that's gonna move the ball to the probably should move it's at the 45 yard line of Ciara ten point six seconds left Lancers trying to get one more on the board 15 penalties Wow against the Stallions tonight plenty against liberty as well divorce keep high snap again he's got penny out here he's rolling he's gonna give it all he has throw it up there for Smith it got through everybody including Smith it goes incomplete 3.7 seconds left now can I have one more shot dude look at the football on the ground best shot Jason Carter's giving us tonight which 3.7 seconds should be the last play again I'm glad I'm in the booth tonight one more shot here for the Lancers Musa Penny and Chris Smith split to the left let's see what divorce key can do another high snap this time they go short Williams couldn't handle it gets hit from behind and that will do it as Burris knocks him down and the game comes to an end the Sierra stallions come to district 20 stadium and defeat the Liberty Lancers they're loving it on the Stallions sideline for coach Eric Gossage and his team they're ready they've learned some lessons and they can do a lot with that as both teams head to midfield to shake hands and that'll do it for our 20 TV crew thank you very much Mike byron jason carter tom paul nick arseny a con the cameras and a Parker on the reef lamb machine and Rob Parrish running the show Adam Drake making sure things are good and Liberty loses it 32 to 24 Vince Greco I'm Brian German we'll see you next time on 20 TV

[Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] All right, welcome back. We're at the D20 Stadium. My name is Logan Elkins and I'm Arcadier. Today it's Lewis Palmer versus Rampart High School. Here both teams are 2 and 0. So, one team will come out 3 and 0 and one will come out 2 and one with the first loss of their season. But here preparing to call starters, but we already know who the starters are going to be, I believe. Yep. Uh we talked to coach Anderson of Rampart uh before the game and he said he feels confident and he has good vibes, but it's all up to the players. The players have to make the commitment to want to win this game. Yeah. And they're relying on the captains to pull it together really. Uh Rampart's last game, it was unfortunately called short because of lightning delays, but he told us while they were in the locker room for those 30 minutes, they really were able to bond and connect.

When we also talked to coach Anderson um and he we asked him what the biggest teams would their challenges and what teams would be challenging and he said Pine Creek Air Academy and Shine Mountain. Now, two of those are 4A schools, correct? Well, we are a 5A. Yep. And Pine Creek is the other five is the other 5A with us, correct? Yep. Pine Creek and Rampire High School are very strong rivals as uh players are called from Le Palmer as of now. Number 16 uh Andrew Merrill. Oh man, look at that keeper. He is tall. Yeah, very tall. And uh unfortunately he's not starting. The starting goalkeeper for Lewis Palmer will be Aiden McGonicle, number one. And the starting goalkeeper for Rampire will also be number one, David Glazner.

Yes. who's also a captain. So, this game, every varsity game, we have three officials. But I wonder down at the lower levels, are they only getting one? Cuz I heard this year they have a shortage of shortage of referees. Yeah, there is a shortage of high school referees and uh some of them are getting a bit older, so there's a demand for younger people to take up the mantle and begin refereeing, but you can't uh can't force people to do that kind of stuff. Yeah. Well, some people don't want to do it either, and it takes a while to uh gain enough experience to be able to referee at such a level. So, takes time. But there's been a strong push recently for uh younger referees cuz there's a shortage here. Yeah. You don't really see young referees. You see middle-aged refs most often. Yeah.

Dominico Jordan being called out clapping hands with teammates. He's the only sophomore on this team. Yep. Well, only sophomore that gets a majority of playing time. Tristan Wal is also a sophomore. Yes. But he's he's the only field player that is a sophomore. My bad. Only field player that's a sophomore. Tristan Wal is the backup goalkeeper to David Glazer at Smith. Now, last time we were here, we talked to coach Les and he said that David is doing a phenomenal job in the going. He believes that David is partially the reason they are getting clean sheets and only getting on extremely dominant goal as of now. He's been having an amazing rate of saves unfortunately.

Uh unfortunately, we do not have statistics for Palmer. Looks like we have it. We do have statistics for Lewis Palmer. Keeping the starting goalkeeper here, Anna McGonicle. He has made 15 saves and has a save ratio of 7.5. 100%. 7.5. Excellent. Excellent discs as well. Both very experienced goalkeepers here for these teams. Nice goal scorer for Rampart High School is Dylan O'Neal, their captain. He's a senior. He has three goals this year. Rampart breaks from the huddle. Rampart's pretty even with goals.

Rampart has won the kickoff. Very fashionable young man. Yes indeed. game. Starring cheers from the both the home and away crowd. Close the whistle. We begin. Liam Milton plays that wide to Aiden Alice. Plays it up the line back to Liam. Liam switches it over to Vince Welling, but that pass is intercepted. Oh, Vince got it back. He's got time. Drops it to the wing to Vince. Vince plays it up. Pass intercepted. And then looks like David Glazner now has the ball. Rampart has been dominating dominating in possession as of now. They're just trying to pass along the back attack from the wings using their two outside backs in Ellis and Vince now. They like to just switch it and try and attack from different points of view. Yeah, Rampard likes to attack on that weak side and it seems to have been working out for them as of now.

after a full day of work to learn about some of the instructional strategies in the district to learn more about PBIS and creative state creating safe positive and effective learning environments they were hungry for more nothing we met one comment she was exit teacher said we've never experienced anything like this in any other district it was amazing so they asked for other topics we want to continue this type of professional development so we're gonna keep and services together with HR is working on that following day on August 30th we held another type of the training for many meted reporters at the National Street and elementary cafeteria and I want to thank publicly Melissa Vera on the thing of course lights on Street and everyone who helped put that together because it really emphasizes that the safety well-being of our children is a number-one priority so we were happy that there was a really good turnout the cafeteria was packed it was really warm in there and the feedback was very positive and said that it was informational and they walked away with a good understanding talked about throwing the chalk across the room so it was it was a good opportunity for training for learning coming together to make sure that as a district we know what to do to keep our children safe a couple of new things that we added to our Event Reporting efforts that have to do with an information sheet a summary sheet and then an acknowledgement form that everyone signed and is trending in the third thing I want to share is along the lines of safety is related to TV certification we do stay on top of that the notices i've already gone out to any employees that need to renew their TV certification and that will be completed in a timely fashion but thank you I just wanted to update the board last week we held our parent maniaci informational meeting and it was at least three times larger than it was last year we were standing room only in the foothill at the foothill Middle School Auditorium so we had a really big audience that day we announced some exciting changes to the maniaci number one we're moving homes this will be our third home I believe that money actually when it first started we started at Dalton Elementary then I moved to Slauson and now we're moving to Hill middle school so Florida will be the new home for mariachi number two we also announced that we're moving from Tuesday marathons from 3:30 and 7:30 to Tuesdays and Thursdays so we'll be we'll be doing money action for Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on the level is when the students would go so we can get students home at a at a much earlier time advance student so I'm gonna get more face time with the instructors this year so that's a positive and then we got a standing ovation for the next one this year we're gonna be offering as an option to students who are in high school and in money actually to take money as a as an A to G approved map of course and so we got a standing ovation for for that our students deserve it and so we're looking forward to that I want to thank Sam has been Sanford Roman principal infidel has been very accommodating with the facilities we're housing the instruments they are now and the uniforms and then a big shout-out to Carlos would be Rios Rodriguez who is a teacher who was there that night to help support and to talk parents and then hoping dinner over there as well not to be done the elementary bad-mannered meeting having that same week also with a pattern of much more money many more parents in attendance so that's that's great that that's happening in our district that we can offer those programs so right now we already go that night alone we had over 100 applications submitted but right now we think that that is that we'll be able to accommodate that with the with the new set up with the instructors that we have we think that we should be fine I'm very happy to college done all their coursework and be ready to go and such as college students were featured and our school was featured in this campaign to promote one of their programs which is actually a new program which of Michael's talk about the test different development of that program but we were selected from a series of schools throughout the Southern California area there were two high schools that were selected paramount high school in Gladstone high school generally speaking what the filmmakers told us is they really enjoyed kind of a classic look at the school when they interact with the students they really know this enthusiasm and the the variety of different programs were available they walk around their campus and I walk with them around our campus and they look at the auto shop but they looked at various other things and they said you know this is a great location and we really like these kids and let's take a look at it so they were again that really enjoyed the diversity of the students on our campus the diversity of different locations where this could be filmed their statement was that anywhere anyone a country could can relate to this experience I think that there's a lot of our community in the kitchen so I spent a whole day with them last wednesday they did rap at the end of the day on Wednesday a couple of very cool things the whole rig isn't attached to kids best thing there's a video on our Facebook page so Chris explain explain why that was whose perspective where they tried to intention in the video in a completed video it's going to be to surf toast story beginning from receiving kind of a letter going to school from a student's point of view and this rig has a kind of a cam about a nose level of the kid some sort of experience kids going to school holding the snake playing volleyball which is a tremendous shot really awesome interacting with a mathematics class and our CPM mathematics classes from at home receiving a letter from college acceptance all for point of view of students and I think that's they wanted to just tell the story about a kid experiencing that whole process of plant working hard applying and being accepted to a college is being able to to get the support they need to be successful towards the secondary education post-secondary education and I've been I'm really proud of them they selected our school that they selected our kids the kid the kid actually wearing the rig isn't going to be in the video it's going to be the people they experience an international with and we're really looking forward to the final product which was supposed take place in October the director says that sometimes that when they're hired they grab all the footage and then the client sort of pieces together he is gonna be on the editing team he told me died there's cork or not it's gonna be on the editing team and he's really happy to be out of school and they I guess I should use me email today from a Sousa Pacific that they went on until the 82 people when they talked to him the other day I was terrific it was a great experience man they're great kids really excited so again I'm very humbled that they selected us but I'm really happy that our kids and our teachers get to be the feature in the story that goes across the country about kids and success [Applause] [Laughter] [Music] first of all they asked me to write a words and I mentioned so I said I was honored why don't you see this to work with riser notice Elise she's when she was one of my mentors when she was a Congress only 31st district back in 2007 I received a distinguished woman and work from her and I seen how right then sneaking up you know they they could make a difference if you speak up you know when you want something or you know how to get it I think the best is to just speak up in in your mind I I do live in the unincorporated area mezuzah and we have no streetlights no sidewalks and stop signs when I first moved there and I'm wondering looking on the screen right they have sidewalks in students don't realize I guess the other great area and the commentary I'm like what is that supposed to mean well it's different lending so what we did get together mr.

Tries to place Mogan outside but pass is intercepted. Pom just clearing it. They need numbers up right now. It's currently a 1v4. pressing up the line. Play through Massmith's legs. Excellent interception by Vince. Vince still going now. Last year was Vince's first team first time on the team. It was his first year cuz he had just transferred and I think he's fitting in quite well. Yep. A boy attacking. Oh, unfortunately can't get enough power on that. And that's an easy save for a Mcgon. He's prepping to throw the ball out here. Looking for options wide. Looks like he's just going to punt it. that just pumps it up the field looking for that striker number nine uh Ethan man. You think they are playing a target striker or do you think they're playing him as another striker with him so they can kind of connect?

O'Connor had mark and we we hire all these people - and there go there and help and that's pretty much you know what why they gave me used to work you know having to do but I felt that just like waiting for school whatever actors can work because I felt you know I consider myself an activist in my community because you know doing things have been meaning to speak up and you need to get involved and we want the change in agreeing so like my platform is at the time in Ireland am I was a voice now hope I can sit here and you know find the right things that are for the kitchen Unified School District and I'm very happy to be here I'm tired and um June 2011 but I ran for office in June in July in Kentucky 11 so I really did not retired I worked 40 years in the garden district and I'm wearing talk to meet her than my second career so I thought anything so great floating it up so nice in my family between members in all okay awesome wonderful evening so far we are moving on to the 9.0 report external closed session matters main point once do it matter final settlement for Office of Administrative Hearings for both a piece number two zero one eight zero seven one zero three six student number 18 - 19 zero one zero to whatever wishes to the board first i motion passes 5-0 moving out the templates are general functions template one approve change order number two architects MSP incorporated box on high school and very elementary school fencing improvements what are the wishes of important variables global I'll second but can we clarify that it's not obscene runner for MSD but it's there well contractors to bid on it there was a bid that was received accepted by a company called HD mp3 they've done the work and actually came in just a little bit under what was allocated so they came in a hundred and fourteen dollars 41 cents less than we expected so this change order is saying okay we are now moving the fact that you came in under the budget it's uh green passes by m0 okay moving on template to need have a presentation on the 2018-19 enrollment okay so we go through a process to count our kids make sure that to make sure that we have the most accurate numbers so we can look at staffing if there's any needs within the beginning of school - okay we're not we would need staff to see a blue need to move them we need extra staff in sites so we have a very very close monitoring process in this schools go into an online system they enter their data and so we saw some good so for our total enrollment that's et K through 12 and that's early it's our early transitional 12 grade we were projecting that would have 18,000 107 kids and the good news is we came out for day 10 which definitely we go a little bit more even by p1 8120 for kids that is good news we came out 17 kids ahead of where checked so we're we're right where we thought we would be where six pretty pretty accurate as far as what we thought some of the good trends that we saw was looking at positive movement kids it'll be with this for the longest period of time or kindergarten kids and we have 55 more kids than last year so actually in my numbers just looking at the trends I saw I predicted that we would actually decrease by a small percentage and so for us to increase in kindergarten is a massive massive positive for the district why would that be these guys will be with us or believe 12 more years after this year so that'll be kind of a a trend that will continue and then our so arm in terms of the 18 K whip what kind of increases Laster was the first year we did that so we we also saw an increase in the Roman and ET King but it's hard to tell if it's true increase or if it's just a change in policy last year we held the reserve and but we built all this so we originally every single elementary school would have an e-zpass room but because we have what's called a hard cap enrollment for our schools for classrooms we didn't want to put ourselves in a situation where week one we loaded up the classroom at 26 and then a true TK came along and now now we're in a word a pickle and so what we did is we progressively throughout the year we started with day 22 then we thought there was 24 and eventually got to 26 but that's that's what he's referring to as far as the blue line which is that's obviously so something that's that's a substantive drug yes so if you're looking at 1890s we're only a big 10 so the other graphs are and of course we know that reasons why the transom you know yes every transfer is considered on a case-by-case basis there are some instances where students must be allowed to transfer like for senior privilege or if a district is offering a program that we don't have an illusive things like that that we would allow a transfer this year something we're doing differently as transfers are starting at the school so families go to the school they talk to an administrator at the school and then if there's a denial that would come to the district office at that time but the thinking is that site administrators are best able to tell parents why their school is a good place for that student to attend and I think that's the numbers that you're seeing that we are selling our schools a lot better typically the transfers happen now in a school year as a school year starting we get more kids coming in throughout the year but that's a good number that we're looking at that I think that's gonna kind of hold true throughout the year can you also dress she would Slauson I think that was the maximum capacity and I I was told that they have to turn something it's a ways actually so we we a rule of no transfers and from other schools or just eighth grade because those slots are full they had room in the sixth grade and the seventh that's like in there from sin or they want to go discussion introducing introduced so we didn't have any should come into joining in actually know anybody who lived in the area so we will do a final count for you about this again well update our enrollment that we use for 88 at the next presentation so we'll show you what those numbers are looking like so that way we which we use to project our revenue for the mark moving on to another point zero inside calendar then point one all matters this is other the same calendar considered by the board and routine it will be enacted by the board in one motion the format following the last consent calendar and demo item there will be no discussion of these items prior to attending board staff for the public requests for specific items to be discussed a discussion is requested by a board member that item will be removed the consent calendar and will be considered separately the superintendent and Uh I think they're trying to he's just staying up top and then he's holding it be he's holding the defenders on his back to lay it off and then they can attack as a unit. All right, Rampart has it on the right side. Vince switches it to David Peters that passes intercepted. Dylan O'Neal gave gives it away. pass kind of intercepted by Liam Milton, but Loose Palmer has it in the midfield. Oh, he falls over the ball, but he's still got it. Now Dylan O'Neal's kind of creeping in cuz he's a left wing, right? Yeah, Dylan O'Neal's trying to look for the wide option, but if he has to cover in central to win the ball, he will do it. Excellent touch there by James Goring. Now Vince has it out wide. He's got time. Plays Mogen who's also got time. Oh, pass intercepted by go there.
