well good evening everyone and welcome to southside elementary home of the mustangs tonight though this will be the home of the rock creek bulldogs and this is the week one of the elementary basketball league better known as bcsc ebl really excited to be able to bring you live streaming throughout this season last season shortened due to covet but we're back at it here and we're starting with the rock creek bulldogs hosting the south side mustangs girls then will be followed by the boys tonight's match-up is sponsored by forced construction company force construction company 75 years they're celebrating uh this friday actually having their 75th anniversary ceremony and want to thank forced construction company for sponsoring ebl in this live stream my name is josh burnett i'm the communications coordinator for bcsc and excited to bring live streaming to ebl we've got the director of ebl steven shipley here [Music] now before we get to introductions i just want to really quickly remind everybody that this is the edl this is the developmental league these kids have just made the team last week they've had very little time together so it's going to be really important that we as a crowd get behind him and are positive cheer for them and make sure that we understand especially with our officials we are very blessed in the epl to have a group of officials dedicated to teaching these young people how to play organized basketball so let's remember that tonight the officials are going to miss calls and some of that a lot of that is on purpose because they are learning so remember tonight let's make sure we try to keep our masses on our good attitudes and let's play some ball thank you [Music] that was ebl director steven shipley taking over after the long and great tenure of dennis pierce we thank dennis for all of his dedication to the ebl program [Music] [Applause] all right [Music] will not be tolerated violators will be removed from the competition site also tonight will be instituting the 25-point rule during all regular season games the score will be kept normally in the first half of play at the start of the third quarter [Applause] number three [Applause] 23 corey jones [Applause] [Music] movies [Applause] hey [Applause] [Music] [Applause] lady bulldogs [Applause] [Music] [Applause] hey [Applause] all right we are almost set to start here on game one of tonight's ebl game of the week doubleheader southside mustangs taking on the rock creek bulldogs special thanks to southside for hosting this year's ebl a little known fact most people who grew up in columbus know that south side was once a middle school but in case you're new to the area that is one of the reasons why southside has this a much bigger gymnasium than all the other elementary schools and thanks to principal jeff bockmeyer and assistant principal kathy jackson for all they're doing to host this year's ebl getting ready to get underway and there's the tip-off rock creek takes possession of the ball early dribbles up and down the court passes it off to the left side oh good defense by the mustangs early [Applause] and that'll be five seconds but as we might have talked about you might have heard earlier this is a learning league and so something that we'll be working on especially after they just had tryouts last week and and started practicing and so we definitely want to encourage right now these young ladies to continue to learn and and have fun many of them this is their first time uh ever playing basketball organized [Music] and others they've been playing for a couple of years and so [Applause] definitely it's a great opportunity to learn the basics of basketball as well as for the cheerleaders we've got some great squads here from both the rock creek bulldogs as well as the south side mustangs and even though we're still in the midst of covid uh it is nice to get back to a little bit of normalcy watching youth athletics we appreciate everyone for wearing their masks while they're in the stands and doing everything that they can to be healthy keep our community healthy and moving forward for those of you who are watching this live stream either at your home or maybe from on a cell phone we really appreciate you tuning in we'll be doing this once a week trying to represent all schools oh yep there's rock creek i want the breakaway and the first two points scored by the rock creek bulldogs south side passes it in [Applause] swarming defense from the lady bulldogs but shot put up oh in the rebound and that'll be a turnover from the lady mustangs [Music] just want to give another shout out to long time ebl director dennis pierce who this year is being succeeded by a great teacher as well as a huge sports fan csa lincoln teacher steven shipley and i will update the score there four to zero now for rock creek and [Applause] there's so many people that do work behind the scenes here at ebl and really appreciate everyone who takes the time to volunteer to make something like this happen we've got a lot of supporters in the crowd families it's awesome to see people supporting these young ladies out here on a wednesday night rock creek again oh just a little off the mark shoots again and they continue to pound the boards and the bulldogs take a six to nothing lead south side showing nerves a little early but there's one thing i know about ebl they definitely have a strong program and so we'll look forward to them getting back in this game but early on rock creek bulldogs with the six nothing lead over south side [Music] and another turnover early for the mustangs pick up top [Applause] oh [Applause] looks like a turnover this time on the lady bulldogs subs come in for both squads [Music] pass into south side brings the ball up forward on the right side [Music] loose ball oh thought they almost had their first two points this time south side strong on the boards down low see what the mustangs can do here pivots around gets a good look but just a little off the mark good pass down low [Applause] oh and rock creek takes the ball away with another breakaway and rock creek with another two point bucket oh good defense south side able to take away the ball though continue down the court [Applause] [Music] oh swarming defense once again by rock creek and they're able to keep up down moving down the course oh just a little off the mark there back to south side [Music] all right see if the mustangs can get back in this game oh [Applause] rock creek brings the ball of the court nice pass down low oh off the mark and south side with it so far rock creek has just done a great job of getting back on defense against these quick south side mustangs oh [Applause] and timeout from rock creek [Applause] again a special shout out to forced construction company for helping sponsor live streams both here at ebl as well as their help in the huddle cameras at both columbus east and columbus north [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] pulling up the rosters here so far rock creek bulldogs have been led by tyce jessup she has done a great job moving the ball up and down the court as a point guard for rock creek another name that i'm sure you'll hear throughout the season is number 33 addison dean they make a great high-low combination both at the point guard and center position addison dean her sister gabby a standout basketball player and volleyball player at columbus east who congratulations to her she'll be moving on and playing volleyball at at the big ten level next year so far the rock creek bulldogs still 8-0 here in the first quarter with a minute 40 left to go south side able to get it down the corner but again just solid defense by the bulldogs oh back and forth oh and good defense from dean there on the block oh but they'll call a foul [Music] and south side this year is coached by leslie stilibauer taking over after long time southside mustangs lady mustangs coach nate bean has transitioned to middle school basketball i saw him around the court maybe we'll get him up here to make a few comments about what he's seen so far ah [Applause] side passes it in [Music] outside from ellie frazier [Music] nice pass still great defense from rock creek and they get the ball back dean passes it in to jessup [Applause] oh and that's the end of the first quarter so far rock creek eight southside zero as we spoke earlier it is the first week of ebl action and there's the south side mustangs cheerleading squad [Music] [Applause] we're here at the end of the first quarter going into the second and i'm joined now by a special guest new ebl director steven shipley how are things going so far in week one well josh it's smooth sailing uh everything's been going really great i think everybody's just excited to be back with some normalcy in the gym watching some ebl basketball so it's been really exciting we started off the week with taylorsville versus schmidt and man that gym was rocking then it's been a really great week and a really great start to things awesome well i know a big thing for you as a teacher as well as the director of ebl is having fun and learning because you talk a little bit about why you believe the ebl league is such a special thing for bcsc to have yeah so we actually been focusing on kind of a new marketing campaign with uh really our mission being what we call sportsmanship teamwork and fundamentals with an emphasis on fun we really want to help prepare these young student athletes prepare them for what's to come middle school high school helping them to be the best athletes they can but also focusing on that student piece um we just want to equip them with the tools needed to be successful at the next level and in life so it's been really cool uh kind of taking this over and kind of seeing the inner workings of everything and i know that we've got some really cool things in store for this season and in the future and i'm really excited for what we're going to be able to do awesome well thank you so much for your time and your energy and effort i know there's a lot that goes into you know becoming the new director and really appreciate on behalf of bcsc everything that you're doing ship hey thank you and thank you to everybody who supported i want to give a shout out real quick to the former ebl coordinator uh dennis pierce i wouldn't have been able to transition so smoothly without him so dennis if you're listening thank you very much awesome class act really appreciate mr shipley and everything that again mr dennis pierce has done for for quite a while i'm still looking forward to uh hearing his voice at columbus east and uh thank you to mr shipley for coming by to talk for a few moments while mr shipley was given a little rundown on ebl southside scored their first bucket and so they've got the zero off the board and you can see the intensity picking up on the defensive side for the mustangs also special shout out to mrs shipley who is our camera person helping me out she saw me doing two things at once and really enjoyed having her and her husband helping out earlier this year at a couple of different football games and i know if you know the shipley's you know that they're serving somewhere so really appreciate it mrs shipley awesome two more points from the bulldogs really impressive start by these lady bulldogs [Music] seven minutes 45 seconds left oh defense gets the ball again but it is a back and forth and that'll be a i'm not sure if that'll be a timeout or not what's gonna happen there nope it'll be possession for south side [Applause] inbound the ball south side with it oh but defense from jessup once again [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh so close there for the south side mustangs but knocked away south side will retain possession [Music] hmm knocked out of bounds by the bulldogs six and a half minutes to play in the second quarter still 10-2 rock creek oh nice pass and bounce and good defense but that'll be a foul on rock creek [Music] [Applause] south side inbounds it oh good defense by the bulldogs and that'll be a foul on south side as i look to my left and to my right i see a couple of principles here both for south side and for rock creek and i'm not sure if you knew this or not but october the month of october is national principles month and this week governor eric holcomb has proclaimed that this week is principles week so we want to give a special shout out to all of our principals within bcsc and especially the principles that i see to my left and to my right south side principal jeff bochmeier assistant principal kathy jackson and rock creek principal jennifer detmer thank you all for everything that you do for for being here tonight supporting your students and your families we appreciate everything that you do at bcsc five minutes left to go in the second quarter dean inbounds it to jessup oh and just a little off the mark there south side with it and a shot put up oh rebound from south side oh so close and dean comes down with it she pushes the ball up hits jessup oh and just a little off the mark but dean was there on the weak side for the rebound and jump ball will result in a south side possession [Music] oh south side hits backdoor pass oh unfortunately that'll be a travel nice look there from the mustangs [Music] jessup brings the ball of the court and she hits teammate down low but southside comes up with it back to rock creek [Music] jessup passes it [Music] oh good defense there from south side but jessup's back with the ball finds her teammate dean oh and just a little off the mark a little strong there and a good hustle around but it will stay with rock creek dean from outside excuse me jessup from outside able to save it finds dean a little short and number 31 grace bethurum has been very active on the defensive side as well as the rebound and she now comes to the free-throw line i believe this is a one in one so let's see if bathurum can convert on this free-throw opportunity oh just a little strong there from grace it is a learning league for everyone and gotta make sure to not kick that ball back in play south side keeps it oh they're able to get it open look and number 11 puts it up that was i believe it's issa pan or isabella with the two-pointer there nice passing able to catch the bulldogs off guard but now looks like they might have the same opportunity oh jessup with the shot and a little strong it will go back to south side [Music] south side inbounds the ball 10-4 now snelson had the ball just a second ago pushing it up back to bathurum and it looks like that was out of bounds a minute and a half left in this first half here at south side where all of this season's ebl games will be played tonight rock creek hosting against the mustangs jessup passes to dean they've been an active duo here so far in the first half but ended up going out of bounds there and back to south side into snelson who dribbles it up and good defense from rock creek and a jump ball resulting [Applause] in possession staying with rock creek passes it into dean and a good shot there she converts 12-4 25 seconds left got to get the ball in girls and able to hit bethurum who goes up and down the court almost 10 seconds left now back to bathurum she puts it up and it's good and that'll be the end of the first half as i update the score and so far it is rock creek 12 south side six south side came on was able to get a couple of points in that second quarter able to pull within six but so far rock creek has really shown some experience especially between jessup and dean they've been very active on both sides of the ball jessa being able to distribute the ball also a couple of good shots and then dean most recently with that outside shot and so we're here half time we're gonna take a break for a few minutes in four and a half minutes we will be back for the second half of game number one in this ebl game of the week doubleheader presented by force construction company thanks for tuning in lovely [Music] all right we're back here at southside elementary we've got about two minutes until the second half i'm joined now by southside elementary principal jeff bockmeyer how are we doing tonight absolutely fantastic it's a great day to start the ebl for our south side mustangs as i think i heard you say earlier they have had a whopping i believe three practices so uh they're getting to know each other and kind of the expectations and some of our fifth graders are getting their first experience on the big floor so but it's a great way to start the year uh bring about that kind of school spirit for both the rock creek bulldogs and the mustangs so we're excited to get things started and we'll get a chance to see the boys here in just a little bit awesome well we definitely appreciate everything you're doing you're here hosting once again you're the hostess with the mostest so for those of you who are watching um mr bachmeier is the principal here at southside and how are things going so far this year really i've been pleased uh super pleased with the school year i think we're all super grateful to be in person and with each other definitely the kids have a great spirit and a great attitude about mask wearing i mean they don't they don't think anything about it i think we're all just grateful to be together and learning in person with those opportunities to you know just get better every day so i think that spirit of um just gratefulness of being here in person i appreciate the opportunity to host i mean i gotta say i miss the the ambiance of rock creek gym and and some of our other gyms in the elementary schools here in bcsc but it's nice to give us a big space to to spread out and have the opportunity to play games uh here in one spot so everybody gets a little chance to visit south side and we get to be the home team pretty much all year which isn't a bad thing either exactly well i know it's been a great week here at southside and around all of bcsc we're celebrating national red ribbon week which is about drug prevention awareness and i know that it's been a lot of fun here at south side i've seen you in a couple of different fun outfits and really appreciate everything you're doing with that and then also i know for some of you who are watching we've talked about this already but just want to say a special shout out to mr bachmeier mrs detmer and mrs jackson our principals as it is national principals month and just want to say appreciate everything that you do jeff thank you very much i appreciate it it's a pleasure to be here and glad that we can get kids out participating together in bcsc with a little good good sportsmanship and spirit so uh hope you i appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to broadcast these games so that we can have parents and grandparents around the country and around the world around the state wherever they may be getting a chance to see their grandkids and their neighbors and their special friends be able to play basketball throughout the year so i appreciate your time and broadcasting this so people can take advantage of seeing those friends and relatives that they have awesome well we're glad to do it and thank you once again for being here we will talk to you i'm sure soon you'll be here all throughout evl and again appreciate everything you do jeff all right well we're here in the second half of the ebo game of the week presented by force construction company it is 12 to 6 8 minutes 54 seconds left dean is at the line and she has an opportunity here to extend the bulldogs lead [Music] and just a little off on that first shot [Music] oh lane violation there and it will be south side ball [Music] oh and good defense they're from jessup and she gets the layup nice layup there by tyce [Music] and bethurham takes it down the court [Applause] and rock creek able to wrap her up there nearly eight minutes left here in the third quarter [Music] running clock here seven minutes 48 seconds oh and good defense from the bulldogs once again this time it will be bulldog ball [Music] nice dribble behind the back there from jessup moves it around to dean and good defense there from south side and it will stay [Applause] with the mustangs [Applause] oh and defense and wow jessup once again shows heads up defense they're able to convert on the way up [Music] ten point lead [Music] [Applause] good defense from the bulldogs but it'll stay with south side [Music] oh oh and once again jessup with the defense oh just a little strong on the way up but very nice defense there taken back frazier oh just a little off [Music] and rock creek unable to keep it in bounds it'll be back to south side ball 16-6 5 minutes 47 seconds left and defense once again from jessup able to pass the ball up oh and just a little off dean with the three-pointer just a little strong oh it'll turn it back over to the mustangs [Music] and time out here quick timeout from here at southside elementary [Music] five minutes 20 seconds left in the third quarter this is game one of tonight's doubleheader between rock creek and southside the boys are up next [Music] south side will have possession of the ball corey jones will inbound it and she passes it into adika shetty who will then pass it to frazier [Music] oh and more good defense by rock creek oh but they unfortunately turn it back over and it'll be south side ball jones will inbound it once again able to hit frazier down low oh and just a little strong and the ball will go back to rock creek [Applause] oh defense from shetty but the referee calls that a foul and madison gourley will inbound it here who will hit jessup nice dribbling from ty's there [Music] oh [Applause] and that looks like a foul from bethurum and a couple shots here for jessup [Music] and just a little off the mark on the first rue payne will enter for bethurum for the mustangs number 43.

until rudy gets here like something good evening ladies and gentlemen we are watching the east long meadow spartans versus the longmeadow lancers tonight in a boys varsity soccer match for the semi-finals of western massachusetts we have a big rivalry here tonight so far east salmeado is 1-0-1 against this team with their victory being a 3-2 win this is has been a physical match up all year long and we are excited to see the results here tonight currently the captains are meeting with the referees free sun metal the captains are sonny mazza enzo mazza ryan mourinho and colin evans and i believe i can get the long meadows roster here okay i believe law medal captain colin goodhines as well ben drew will be starting a net here tonight and for longmeadow we have goaltender quinn henry as i've said a big match up here tonight and it will be you saw meadow starting with the ball on the kickoff it'll be sonny mazzak setting up to take it oh we have a bit of a cold night here it's 50 degrees currently and we could be seeing some rain which could affect the conditions and we're off now as mazza hits it back to mourinho and mourinho sends it right side immediately it's sunny mazzle with the ball now he tries to cross to the middle but that's defended by a long meadow and now longmeadow is controlling on the outside and that ball goes out of bounds off number six ryan mulderig it'll be ben weldon here to take the throw in ben weldon looks to mazza mazza tries to touch it to the middle now it's deflected and it's going the other way good hinds advances it drew setting up to clear it he sends it to brunel brunel playing it to mazza mazza sends it to his brother sonny mazza it's now more noah with the ball he touches it right side to past shadow luke mazza playing it and now good hinds with the ball good heinz advancing he makes a cut move to the outside now good hands looking at his options he sends it right side and what seemed to have been a handball is missed now brunel defending brunel taking a step and he looks to send it to moreno and that is intercepted and ends up in drew's hands drew sends it past midfield that's directed towards colin evans now longmeadow ball but more no gains possession he sends it to brunel on the left side brunel makes a look to the middle but it's deflected now weldon with the ball he makes a nice move to the inside and now a nice through ball ends up on net but it's scooped up by henry henry sends it long past midfield that's to good hinds good hinds makes a touch but it's welding there to defend now quran with the ball it's more now he's taken down now number six ryan mulder with the ball he tries to send it to the middle and that's deflected off an east saw meadow body and that'll result in a long meadow corner kick here number nine chris caron sets up to take it and he sends it to the middle and there was a shot on net for a volley but it goes right side and misses and now ben drew will set up for the goal kick after that opportunity drew looking for more no more no heads it to evans evans touches it over to paschetto the shadow sends it to evans now longmeadow possession a through ball but drew comes out to play it and he sends it right back out for a nice clear now mold rig with the ball on the right side weldon defends that out of bounds now it'll be a long meadow throw in here so far a fast pace of play as chris koran sets up to take that throw-in mazza heads it out of the way now it's evans with the ball he makes a nice pass to luke mazza luke mazza trying to play it on the outside that ball goes out out of bounds off of him and lamotto takes the throwing good heinz with the ball now now longmeadow trying to make a play but it's defended and that all ends up out of bounds and now the shadow will take the throne a shadow looking to evans evans touches it up into the air and now walden will look to touch that tomorrow now but it's intercepted and going the other way now it's mazza with the ball and now evans evans tries to make a through pass to mazza but it's unsuccessful now the ball is going along the other way but giroux will just send that right out of bounds towards the east law meadow bench walden playing it he's on mulder egg mulder extends it to the middle now mourinho defending he sends it to mazzum mazzo with a lead pass to the right side to luke mazza luke mazza using his speed to get to the outside but he's overwhelmed by two long metal defenders they'll play it out of bounds and it'll end up in a throw-in for east salmeado you somehow trying to get something going on offense here throwing will be played to evans now it's brunel with it brunel on the right side he your left side and he ends up with the ball once again he sends it to mourinho now mazza with the ball mazda sends a little pass to the inside and it is cleared by longmeadow we're no fighting for it and that ball ends up out of bounds off of deflection and it'll be weldon setting up to take the throw in here solid showing for the saw meadow crowd tonight so that ball ends up towards pachetto now it's koran taking it he plays it with a nice pass to the right side and now a cross towards brunel and brunel is able to almost save it from going out of bounds that'll end up in a goal kick after that number seven con a chat we'll take it instead of henry now it's weldon successfully defending that off he sends it to mourinho moreno to mazza and back towards marnell brunel with the ball on the left side he's advancing it he tries to send a ball left side to sunny mazza and that ball ends up back in with brunel brunel holding on to it and he sends it to evans evan's trying to make a play to mazza mazza tries to play it back to him and now evans and henry in a battle inside the box and henry ends up with a he's now punting it far past midfield weldon with a nice header and now good hinds playing it left side to moulder [Music] not mulder egg number five mcmahon my mistake it is drew now with the ball drool send it right back towards midfield lametto defending with head balls and it'll end up with quran with a pass from pachetto and now more no with it past midfield brunell sends a pass to the middle almost finesses it around the defender but it's to ward it off and now the ball is at midfield with pachetto the shadow sends it to evans evans on the outside he makes a pass directed towards luke mazza and now we have you salmero subs joe presnell dante bates and michael monroe coming in for koran luke mazza and ryan brunell monroe on the outside and he'll look to use his speed to get past his defender but a touch goes too far and now ends up out of bounds that was off of longmeadow so it'll be beats with the throw in here bait sends it towards mourinho that's headed out of the dangerous way and it ends up back it's dante but now goodhein's gaining possession dante steals it back sends it to stevens and stephen sends it to presnel fresno tapping it over to mazza mazza trying to make a through pass to monroe and monroe is tripped up and they'll call it a free kick for longmeadow that'll be booted up towards good hinds good hands will try and use his speed to get up there but drew is there quick enough to grab it before you can get a touch drew sends it towards evans now bates sends it over to mazza mazza to morneau and mourinho takes an outside shot and it goes left of the net and they'll be calling it shots setting up to take the kick shots sends it all the way to rinpool [Music] and that's defended renton weldon had a bit of a personal rivalry last game we'll keep an eye on that it's now at midfield with i'm unsure who it was number nine on the meadow chris koran jumping over bates and he made contact and they'll call a free kick for that so now rin tool with the ball on the outside rin tool taps it over and presnel is defending weldon successfully plays it up field and he tries to send it up to mazza but it can't and now it's evans with the ball evan sends it to the outside to presnel fresno trying to make a move he sends it to evans evan's making a cup move to the inside now he's fought off by two defenders on long meadow and evans will end up right back with it and he'll send it back to pachetto but shadow sends it right to the middle and that is on its way out of bounds but rin tool or not brentool number 19 i believe can't catch their name on the roster it's beats now with the ball now evans evans with a nice pass to bates bates to the outside to presnel fresno sending it to the middle to mourinho baits with the ball now a nice volley but it's scooped up by henry on the right side other than that nice shot and a good save there now is somehow defending moreno at midfield sending it up to evans evans will try and make a play to monroe and monroe ends up with it and he'll play it back to morneau and now fresno with an opportunity on the left side he'll try and take a shot but it goes left of the net and now once again the shots will set up to take the goal kick after that opportunity freestyle meadow so now he's somehow defending it's good heinz with the ball rin tool now with it he tries to make a play but it's defended by the shadow and now on the left side chris koran trying to make a play that ball ends up out of bounds off him and he saw that will take the throne directed towards evans now it is weldon stepping up to make a play it's kicked back to east long meadow backs and now they make a play up field monroe is fighting for it but now it's directed towards good hinds and drew is stepping out to play it but now the net is empty and drew is able to recover now and east salmeado is able to defend that i believe jacob pachetta with the play mazda sends it up field it's directed back by a long metal defender and the referee will blow the whistle and it'll result in a free kick for mazza mazza will immediately play it to shadow shadow to monroe monroe making a play to the outside he sends it to the middle evans with the head ball over to president plays it all the way back to bates and bates takes an outside shot he's been known to take those not afraid to use his leg and now henry will end up with it and east salmeado is trying to overwhelm good hinds and weldon is who ends up with the ball and now drew will touch it to the inside to himself so he can pick it up and send it over to the shadow on the right side paschetto playing it up field it's deflected off on meadow and stevens will now play it all the way back to drew drew steps into it he sends it up to the midfield monroe with a head ball directed towards evans and now the whistle will blow when the ball was in mulder eggs possession and it is mazzo with the free kick beats makes a head ball on that now morneau is stepping up to play it one row fighting for it now i'll try and advance it towards good hinds but it's long too far and it'll end up in drew's hands he'll punt it to the middle it's rin tool now playing it weldon sends it far and monroe ends up with it he makes a great pass to mazza but it's just a bit too far and that ball goes out of bounds off east palmetto after mazza was boxed out and it'll be his shots coming to take the goal kick now bates presnel and monroe have been subbed out i believe luke mazza brunell and i think maybe quran will be subbed in i think that's number 10.

haven't seen it so i apologize in advance if it was it's just to clarify if the temporary policies are still in effect i think that policy 6114.81 about emergency suspension of policy during the pandemic and if the superintendent still has the temporary powers the statement ended with consulting with the board of ed that the temporary powers granted to the superintendent shall remain in effect for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year or until repealed by the school board so i'm just wondering if that has been repealed or does the superintendent still have those powers and then my second thing is about visitors in the buildings in the essential visitor forum as i know kevin is very aware there are a lot of questions around this form who fills it out when is it needed and my biggest concern is the inconsistency about who is allowed in the buildings for example we're all here tonight i understand some border bed members are going to go see the new kindergarten my husband and i are going to i'm sorry i'm going to be here tomorrow helping out with picture day but my husband and i cannot go see my son's school counselor even outside of school hours we were told the district doesn't allow that so i just appreciate if something were put together in writing to help clarify and make it consistent thank you thank you [Applause] okay what you do to consecutive i'll make a motion that the board of education approved the items on the consent calendar exhibits 21-110 through 21-113 as recommended promotion made by kate could i hear a second second segment by aaron and his questions discussion on that motion sent kevin yes rachel uh just to clarify on the october 13th minutes in my pto report it sounds like i'm talking about the same pto when there's um i was really talking about three the first was the gauge the dhs pto the second ais pto and the third was the citywide pto just to clarify there thank you okay thank you we'll make those corrections okay are there any other corrections to be made okay kate could you do the roll call excuse me i do have a correction to make on the calendar um i think it says november no i was gonna make that clarification when we got down to that on november the 23rd is our board meeting the last board meeting in november it states in the package that is the 21st right okay so just know on your package that's the 23rd instead of 21st because i think the 21st is on a sunday or something okay okay so we're just okay thank you any other kate doodle rolfer rachel chaleski aye kate canetta i gladys cooper yes um lauren daley aye joe da silva rich danelli bye kathy molinaro hi al russo hi amy spelino hi thank you all motionless okay thank you mr um watson as we move before we get to the act tonight sure um thank you miss cooper so given uh given the work with our committee meetings most recently a finance committee meeting i know we'll have often times a motion following my vacs chairperson cooper and mr ginelli if we have a finance committee meetings previous or prior to the second board meeting so the board has an opportunity to see the report and i thought it would be more appropriate that the committee or the board the board has an opportunity to review the report first for the entire board before actually going to the motion and voting on it um and it's also my wonder if it might not be a good practice for all of the committees i know all of them don't necessarily yield into a vote in a motion but perhaps we should have the committee reports first and then emotions actually so i just wanted to recommend that to clarify so you're saying just a monthly meeting for committees before an action item yeah i'm sorry so just to clarify um i had requested to chairperson group and mr jannelli that we schedule a finance meetings at least the week prior to the second board meeting of the month before the board approves the monthly reports other committees don't necessarily yield an emotion but it might be a good practice for us to review the chair committed reports prior to any motions just so there's any discussion anything might have an impact on the motion at least there's some discussion first i think it's certainly appropriate for the finance community to do it and it might not be a bad practice for all that they're doing first i just wanted to share that as consideration for the world so my question after you want mr janella to do it give a brief uh report from the finance committee and then we can turn it over to our finance company all right i think that would be helpful for the board but again kevin was only saying that basically we have a schedule i i understand that i understand the schedule right but i'm saying before we vote on the action item which you're doing the financial report tonight you're committing math so do you want to give a brief summary of what we committed to discuss and then we act on the action outcome all right so in roman numeral 15 um typically the board shared their committee reports really almost at the end and i'm recommending to move up the committee reports prior to motion so that there's a discussion you can catch everyone up and then go to your vote sure discussion possibly would it be more advantageous to have our our cfo uh give the contents of his monthly statement sure absolutely absolutely rich no problem okay you know the the finance committee met i think was tuesday of this week the meeting was for the three-month ending september 30th there was a and she received the attack a brief description to some of the events through the three months john went through and indicated that he didn't see at this particular point any issues that were really an anomaly here uh and that there were certain items that would continue to to watch as we call the ticket ticket movers such as the health insurance essentially is one of the items line numbers or expenditures that you know that would never really sure how much it's going to be because they're self-insured and also with the catch-up of the coding in the last two years we have to watch that closely so with that i'll add it on to john to go through and elaborate a little bit more thank you very much um the reports in your package on page 12 so just very briefly what i what i like to do in the beginning of the year like this is just let you know if something if things are happening the way you plan them to be when you adopted your budget or if something else was happening and the message because it's really too early to compare uh to budgets and things like that we'll do that as we get further along in a year but each of the each of the programs and services that you budgeted to be put in place are in place and they're running as planned i did mention a couple of things although you had that in mind i thought it was worth talking about um you heard about health insurance but also the tents that we plan to use here we're not going to use as many tents i think there are three that are left up they'll be up for a while you had budgeted seven hundred and twenty thousand dollars uh it turns out we'll only be paying about four hundred thousand dollars so there's a savings there and then we also discussed at the committee food cost and what's going on there um we'll get molten met with um sodexo a food management company um the other day and we'll have we'll be watching that closely if there's anything significant we'll certainly put it in our report so we can see what's happening here the idea being that if our if there are things that happen in the service program um we want you to know early and not not towards the end of the year we don't expect there will be but it's it's good to keep our eyes on stuff thank you mr thank you jeff a question i don't know there's so much for john i it might be for kevin i'm from food and school lunch and kevin you and i spoke about this a couple months ago or maybe a month ago i heard from a lot of parents once baseball started for my son i started running into lots of parents and lots of kids talking about school lunch both quality and quantity portion size was much lower much smaller in their perception than past years and quality was down i think you would mention you were talking this at exo is that anything doing with the cost are those two things connected it should not be um and so we were john and i actually just had a meeting with with sodexo yesterday it was really kind of a get to know the new superintendent meeting which i certainly appreciated as part of the meeting they had shared their challenges with uh production and production costs and i guess those are challenges that i think are across most industries right now and that and that it has also had an impact on supply as well i mean so menus may change at the last minute as a result of production and so that's those things are certainly understandable quality we should not compromise on quality under any circumstance and certainly that's something we made clear in the meeting i've also asked sodexo to have a representative we have a representative from sodexo that works in the district and so i have asked him to come and speak to our parents make sure there's a process in place in which our parents from 912 68 and k5 have more say in what's in the menu make sure that menu is representative of our school community obviously the fda has guidelines on what can and cannot be served but but our parents and our kids our students should have more of a say in what should go into the menu um and my hope is if once they have a saying what is driving the menu then they'll be a little bit more happier with what's actually you know giving to the food every day and then if we're not happy with sodexo then that's a different story right but at least give them an opportunity to have a say so in the menu so that's something that we'll be working on um very soon so i want to speak i'm going to start with uh citywide pto and ask if they'll entertain the idea of having to dexo club and speak to the families and then we will try to put together some committees apparently there's already a representation group representative group 912 but we'll make sure we have one in place with six eight and then also k5 we'll get that started so that next year we have this in place thank you gladys i have a question yes okay i have a question about the uh the food cost and the contract is there a cap on food cost in the contract okay thank you that's what i mean any other questions i'm not sure okay go ahead if this is a good time but um again i wanted to say about the finance that i appreciate the summary that came along with the packet i think monthly meetings are a good idea for the finance committee um i was again able to watch and so i'm pretty up to speed on on what happened um but i'm a little confused about you know having the report before the action item i think it just in my opinion it's a little confusing i think you know there's a place for discussion um within the action item and then another place for board report and comments and questions but i did also want to say i think it's a good idea i know this was mentioned at the committee meeting to report regularly on grant money i don't think that happened in the past um as i understand it there really wasn't a need um but i feel you know that amount has grown over the years and um you know we should we should be made aware of what's happening with grants um and i just i look forward to you know in open early discussions for the next budget season thank if you are no other discussions uh question concerning our finance we'll move on to the action honor kate could you uh do the action hiding please i'll make a motion that the board of education approved the september 2021 financial report in accordance with exhibit 21-114 did i hear a second second by air in the questions discussion saying that we move on to kate we can cooper yes lauren daly hi joe da silva rich danelli hi kathy molinaro hi al russo hi amy spolino hi thank you emotion is so care next is the superintendent's report thank you mr peter so i i wanted to make sure we had an opportunity to just kind of number one make the board aware of how the school year is going now that we've kind of got off over our transportation hurdles although not totally but just wanted to share how things are going in our classrooms impact on the social emotional throughout our school district and just kind of overall general operation that was necessary given it's almost november just kind of get kind of a state of how danbury what kind of shape we're in right now number one i've had numerous conversations with administrators across the district teachers across the district particularly at our lower levels in our elementary schools but this is not to say that i have not heard from representative representatives from middle school in high school a great deal over these last couple of weeks the the challenge is we we anticipated some challenges last year you might recall during the budget season and as part of the sf3 presentations we have talked about the need for school climate specialists because we are anticipating increased concerns with behavior we had anticipated social emotional challenges and so we had requested additional social workers and guidance counselors across the system and in in those regards we hired additional people what we did not anticipate with the social emotional challenges across the system we certainly anticipated academic gaps that would need to be filled you may you might recall words like acceleration is going to be necessary when we come back and we were prepared to accelerate in every regard our curriculum department was ready and armed and ready to support teachers and provide coaching and intervention and everywhere in the system where we could and when we got back and we opened up our doors we were reminded that our kids would have not been in school full time in two and a half years i'm sorry in a year and a half and so we had a middle school we have a middle school with sixth and seventh graders who have never been in middle school before we have k one and two and our k one and two great none of them not kindergarten not first grade or second grade has had a full year of school yet and then our high school dan had you know spoke to those realities here when we talked about the challenges of overcrowding and you know taking that picture with kids walking down the that one hallway no one knows the building right no one knew the building in the beginning of the school year um and and we are feeling the impact of that of that change right now i was in a meeting today the advisory council to the superintendent it's representations of teachers across the school district a very informative group much like our school citywide pto and so very informative and they really give the superintendent a pulse of what's going on in the school community um and frankly they just reiterated the challenges that i've heard district-wide i'm i'm sharing this with you for two reasons one to share with you how our staff is feeling right now they are overwhelmed our administrators are overwhelmed and our and our kids are it's probably overwhelming from them because they haven't been in school in so long and so some of you might recall some of the social media challenges and i mean literally challenges like go do something bad and videotape it and so our kids have been out of school and you know all the routines typically associated with school they have not been exposed to it in some time now and it's it's taken us some time to get to get them used to being back in the building i'm confident that we will get there i reminded the acs group the advisory council to the superintendent group today reminded them how challenging it was from march to june with the implementation of teaching kids remotely but quite frankly i'm not aware of any district that did it better than us no one um i reminded them the challenge that we had when we thought we were going to open our doors last september um and we figured out a way to make it work until january um it that was challenging for all of us for our families who learned at the last minute for our teachers who had to pivot at the last minute for kids who had to pivot at the last minute but we figured it out um we're not alone right now i mean you can turn on you can google it and find out whether it's in this region in the state in this country everyone has similar challenges um i'm i'm optimistic that our staff will also figure it out but this does not mean does not mean that we don't need help right now so i john had just shared some of the savings that are that will be represented in those tent savings um and i'm just using that as an example i'm not necessarily talking about necessarily from those savings but the cabinet and i will be looking at our budget we will be looking at the commitments that we made as part of our sf3 commitments by exit two commitments and any penny that's left over from cares to revisit those budgets to figure out how we can resource this school district while everyone is in such a needy situation right now this is not to suggest good things are not happening and at the beginning of the school year i recall being in our brookfield site in the kindergarten building um where kids quite frankly were in crisis right and this is the first week of school and they had no idea what school was like now typically when you drop off your kindergarten baby kids are crying and have a hard time being removed from home anyway that was escalated times 20 it felt like um and and i'm a high school guy so i couldn't stay long anyway so but but i but i went back and and and the point being i know the teachers are not necessarily feeling this but and our administrators are probably not feeling this um but it's getting better right because i was in the buildings beginning of the year then a couple weeks later and then now and it's our schools are getting better but this is not to say they don't need help um so um the cabinet that i we're trying to figure out how to do how to deploy our resources in the way that they're going to get that help i am poor john the guy ed ed and john they've been here for a month and maybe one to one or two hours and they are looking at every single staff member in the district every penny that we've committed to and i've asked them to look at it in different ways to make sure that we can redeploy our resources in ways it's going to help our school system specifically in classrooms with teachers and the principals that have readily available so i just wanted to make you aware that this is happening some things that we're working on um i anticipate at our next board meeting we will be able to share more specifically what that would look like and any plans that we have but i just wanted to make you aware that that is happening we're planning on working on this um and it does impact some of the candidates we've made so you might recall those power points uh with all of those i itemize um positions we're looking to hire a lot of those positions we have not been able to hire because we can't find them right so those are some of the positions and opportunities that we need to revisit um so just just to name a few just name a few um and they were interventionists and i'm looking at carousel i can't help but remember this like we had we had committed to a bunch of interventions we couldn't find them and so we pivoted at some school at the middle school level and told them that they can hire school climate specialists which was to support behaviors in the building just as an example but there's there's a lot of work for us to do so that we can resource our buildings a little bit better right now um and we will also of course be mindful of the financial cliff that we've all talked about and warned ourselves of kim and john have also been looking at agencies tech agencies to also help with staffing and i feel optimistic that that's also going to provide some immediate help but we don't have to worry about long-term commitments to staff so again i just wanted to make the board aware of that at the same time there are some good things happening i mentioned one just about the incremental growth that has taken place since we've been back in school but two academically there are some good things happening um challenges that i'm going to ask kelly to speak to but you know that doesn't mean that we're not also trying to find ways to support staff across the system and then just some of the operational challenges which you know we started off the school year with busing but you've also heard our challenges around testing and i wanted to provide an update for you in those regards as well so if it's okay i'll start with um start with kara and then we'll go to kelly and kim and john sure um so so to mention some of the things that kevin uh discussed in terms of uh challenges social social emotional needs of students um it was clear within the first couple weeks of school that we needed to go back and replace all the pacing that we worked on all summer and in the spring to get ready for this year um you know it was almost the perfect storm if you will in terms of the curriculum world in the readiness we've had all this additional infusion of funding which to buy programs that we've had our eye on for years and it was the perfect time to finally get those in but maybe not so so much of the perfect time to roll them out at the beginning of the school year and so we pulled back on in some areas all of our plans are still in play i'll talk a little bit about some of the professional development that the teachers are engaged in um but we're really trying to uh listen to the needs of what's up the teachers uh and understand what's going on with the students and trying to support the administrators through this process but that said we still have taken on quite a bit we are still rolling out our k2 program with illustrative math to really build that solid foundational component for mathematics going a little bit slower than we initially anticipated but we're still moving that forward we've implemented the k5 dibbles assessment um and i think i've mentioned some of these in a previous meeting but it was takes a lot of training and application and working with the teachers to um understand this new assessment uh the devil's assumption is that dynamic indicators and basic early literacy skills um very critical right now especially because we're trying to assess where students are you know given the fact that we've had some disruption um and it's an assessment that will help the teachers make better literacy decision skills literacy decision making in the classroom we've combined that with the reader program which is a new foundational literacy program as well so we have a lot going on at the k2 and k3 level um and this is also where some of our greatest challenges are in terms of behaviors with students and the sort of the need so we're going slowly but we're still moving forward uh and folks are excited about the quality of the curriculum uh and the materials we just need to tear back a little bit and make sure that we're meeting the needs of our of our teachers and our students we have uh we're rolling out in grades three through five uh stem and science uh programming and we're also going slow with that some of our coaches are doing road shows in the buildings which is great modeling how we are going to implement how we teach students we haven't had a lot of science at the elementary levels we're really trying to build a culture around science and excitement and to do that we're going into classrooms and we're modeling with teachers and working with teachers to show them how to build that love for science and hands-on engagement so that is going again a little bit slower than we anticipated but we're moving that forward we have been working with the administrators with our with the future design school if you remember uh this group worked with future design school for a little bit we started to talk about the academy and the transformation uh they're a very dynamic group and they're helping to facilitate conversations to build our k-12 continuum as we build out the porch for the graduates there's a lot of behind-the-scenes work going on there very exciting and of course we're still engaging in the academy action plan so we're you know now into this with some of our training with our ninth grade teachers we're continuing to develop the programmatic uh course overviews for what each pathway will have in terms of the electives the course sequencing and the graduation requirements and um again that's kind of work that the curriculum development team is working on in the background that we're excited about so lots happening in the curriculum world um but we're taking some things a little bit slower than we anticipated but we're still looking forward thank you oh kevin can i mention the right to read legislation yes you just don't get that on the table so in the spring of last year passed in a most recent round of legislation and implementer bill there was a bill that was passed called the right to read legislation and so it's kind of early on right now to determine how this is going to affect danbury but basically this is the state's effort to have a kind of statewide coordination with local school districts on foundational reading to get behind the science of reading and it's going to impact districts in the way that it's going to determine the curriculum uh in schools it'll also determine the professional development and it can also determine levels of support and training that the state will say districts are required to to engage in if you're not meeting certain criteria by particularly very little great right and so the state has developed a consortium has named a consortium to begin to vet research based reading programs they will name five by 2022 july 1st 2022 and districts will have to back in to the to one of those five programs there is an option for a waiver we don't know what that waiver requirement looks like just yet and we expect to hear more in the spring about what that will entail as a district thank you okay sure uh so just to take back on that i'll start with uh some curricular and academic things just not being for the board um your special education and speech and language pathologists um from preschool all the way through high school um we'll be doing an extensive reading training which maybe backs off of this new legislation and working gallingham so all of the staff members will be trained in that model approach it's a specific systematic essential way to teach students that are struggling particularly with phonics or phonemic awareness and reading so we're excited to bring that to them we're launching it in november right on our professional development today to support the social emotional needs we're doing a training for people services staff on cognitive behavioral therapy which is an approach of how to support students that are going through any different type of trauma anxiety of school avoidance acting out aggression behavior and that will give some additional tools and resources to our staff um on how to work with some of the issues that we're seeing in schools today um so just regarding quickly some of the social emotional behavioral things that we're seeing i think it's really important to remember that our kids haven't been in school in several years many of our early learners were kind of robbed of the early childhood experience because of cloven and because of the pandemic so when you walk in a you know elementary school you're seeing kindergarten through second grade really learning how to do school for the first time and so that has put an immense stress and pressure on our teachers and our administrators um and on top of that we're understaffed we're short staff we don't have subs in the building we're under south as far as higher educators so not only are they dealing with more than what's usual at the start of the school year but they're covering an extra lunch duty they're subbing for a teacher during their prep time and so all of that is just really adding and contributing um to the pressures that the staff are facing um so we're working together as a team to try to alleviate each one of those issues in the best way that we can um so i just think we need an acknowledgement of the teachers and our admin team our non-certified staff members of the stressors that are on their plate and a little bit of the okay that social emotional has to come first if kids are not doing okay we need to pause sorry they're reading curriculum or the curriculum whatever it may need to be to kind of regroup reset and then move forward we all know kids don't learn unless they're in a good place to learn and so while you know high academic standards and high achievement for all of our kids is always our primary goal we also need to be sensitive to the realities of what they're going through today um and so we're trying to find that fearful balance that we're still keeping those high expectations but we're also kind of stopping in the moment re-teaching re-planning and regrouping um and reaching out um some of our families are needing some additional support services and silver time and then come up with different different community agencies and so forth so um i definitely uh reiterate everything everyone before we have said we're seeing um an improvement since the start of the school year um but it's still a lot and it's felt like we're going through this process for a long time and i think that's just adding to the heightened feelings and emotions of some of our staff so we'll continue to work through and strategize how we can best support them we're trying to elicit and engage their feedback and make sure that um you know okay um okay so operations um the the biggest thing that i've been talking to you about has been the compliance with the executive order we're in real good shape um we've got a testing a weekly testing pull this down to just about 150 it drops every week as more and more people are starting to get their second doses and become fully vaccinated so that's actually um making life in our suite a little bit more beautiful because they're not so many people we open the testing window to saturdays as well so folks can now test saturday sunday monday with monday test results or sunday monday tuesday with test results just that additional day on weekend has given people an opportunity to relax a little bit find time to get a test that's convenient and get the results submitted into us in a timely way so we've seen a lot of kind of reduction in stress and pressure on that right now what we're seeing if anything is some delayed test results from a few of the testing locations and so we're working i've been working with the union particularly teachers union on some ways we might be able to resolve that and still be in compliance with the executive order so we're looking constantly ways to make this a little bit more manageable for those people that for whatever reason might be in that weekly testing pool i did receive earlier this week some communication from the state department of education they have opened a survey asking districts to please report on their um vaccination percentages and testing so we're now going to take all of this data we've been gathering over the last four weeks and implemented into kind of a response to the testing window or the the survey window that the state has opened this week so we'll be able to get that and we're in real good shape to be able to comply with that so we will go ahead and check that boxes we can continue to monitor as we go through time what we're seeing in addition to kind of regular absences which have been super high i think last friday we saw something like 133 teachers out we're seeing high high absences which i think is a reflection of what we've all been talking about here not only is it illness starting to go around in that season but we're also seeing people are really some are struggling in addition to that those folks who have not got their test incomplete are also absences that are going into the system because they can't come to work if they don't know the test results so this has all made um finding a subservice i think all the more critical and the cabinet team has really put a priority on that um john and i have worked through presentations from the two big industry leaders in that subservice provision and we're poised to ask a few more questions and make some decisions about whether that's something we can implement we would see a slow increase but an increase nonetheless in our ability to fill gaps and with these agencies as they start to bring on onboard some additional subs in the areas of teachers care professionals secretaries and we're hoping some nursing staff those are the four areas where we have really been hit pretty hard particularly nurses we've been hit very hard and we have exhausted our access to temporary agencies no one has anyone left and so we're all kind of fighting for this limited pool of folks even on a temporary basis so we're hopeful that using service may be able to give us access to a wider pool and maybe a more efficiently deployed pool as well so that's something that we've placed a priority on lastly the one thing i do want to mention is several years ago many of you remember when we brought on an eap program an employee assistance program one component of that that we did bring on is the provision of kind of workshops and presentation and professional development and so from time to time including monthly christine goodsolar insurance coordinator is forwarding out information to all of our employees um anybody who works here whether they're in the plan or health insurance plan or not has access to these wellness videos tips newsletters so we're going to look at seeing if we can't roll out some social emotional health modules maybe during pd time to help our employees to kind of get through this period of time i think what we're all finding is this has really been hard and so if we can leverage some of those dollars that are set aside with that plan for providing some more resources for folks to access either with us or on their own time that's something we're going to prioritize for the coming weeks thank you yes i don't know whether this is a question for kim for kevin somebody should i meet anybody nurses i had i ran into a friend at a supermarket i don't know where their kid goes to school so i will apologize off the bat they were very disconcerted because their child got sick at school and they got a call and there was no nurse in the building they were really really not happy now i suggest that they obviously contact beaver brook and maybe they did maybe they didn't i have no idea but i promised i would ask the question it was their understanding their nurse had been pulled out of that building be sent someplace else is that happening and if so why i can address that um so we are looking to reupload nurses some of our buildings have multiple nurses in them um and so when there is an absence or a shortage we do need to occasionally pull a nurse and we have had to do that quite a bit this year i they were under the impression their their school only has one nurse and their nurse was sent someplace else they were very not happy there have been a handful of occasions this year that we have had one nurse covering two buildings and it's based on kavanaugh looks at it very very carefully and making sure that someone is floating between the two buildings when we need to again not ideal um but in this situation it is something that we have had to do it is done on a rare occasion but we have had to do it um so i would need to look into the particulars of that situation and talk there are certain buildings based on the medical needs of kids in that building that that we cannot do that there are other buildings that we have let's say two buildings on one campus then we can have a nurse that covers both buildings with another person that's a mediterranean administrator that would be good to me in the absence cathy o'dowd is also um filling in i don't i think there might have been one day this year that she has not been a small nurse um so she is also stepping into those kind of things i don't want to say it's never happened it's happened rarely but it is something that we have had to do which is why we're reaching out to agencies to elicit i mean logically king street there's two buildings you can have one nurse mill ridge and west side i don't think they were on a double campus school because i i want to say i think they're a great plane or sadly rough i know they're that into town it just struck me as odd that there's no nurse in one building you pull them out of a building they're already assigned to to put them in another building so we're going to have a building without a nurse in it anyway that are that that require consistent nursing supervision and so if there is a situation in which we have to pull a nurse we have to look at the medical needs of the students in that building and and that's where kathy's position to make the best decision um so again i'm not minimizing we need more purposes um we need more support um but we have had to make those decisions this year and that's the first time we've ever had to do that right again you can't manufacture nurses out of whole month again okay thank you so at least it's rare yes yeah just like to comment and congratulate kevin and his cabinet i've had very positive remarks made about the social emotional uh use of tenants for the kids up to high school and i want to congratulate kevin and again kevin for utilizing the gymnasiums so we can uh possibly redeploy those additional 300 000 resources in other social emotional areas so well job stay safe stay safe everyone and stay strong thank you and on behalf of the board thank you uh for uh coming and bringing the report to us for the alternative son thank you again you're late thank you have a good night so just um i believe everyone has in their packets the superintendent goals for the 21-22 school year just looking at previous previous board board agenda items it appears depending on the year the goals were shared with the board in the board meeting prior to divorce consideration and then there was a motion on the subsequent board meeting so in your packet you may see at least exhibit 2-1-1-5 and there are not terribly different from the process and structure of previous years so there's a focus on student learning and achievement college and career readiness for all students fiscal responsibility planning for growth and talent acquisition organizational systems for learning opportunity and equity and those are the three uh big areas and then within there you'll see um goals under those three those three those three areas and so just ask the board i know if there are any questions this evening um clarifying questions this evening certainly we here to answer them because the cabinet and i put the goals together so this is for information and then at our next uh board meeting we could have an overall open discussion about this and um looking forward and was moved forward as a board after the election uh then the committee was coming together the four boy would come together and then we will draw up our goals and see how those goals will be in line with the superintendent goes that has always been the practice so hopefully after the election weekend and we get through the christmas holidays and the first of the year we can come together as a crew okay is that okay with everyone okay so can we not ask questions now okay or do you want to hold the questions um so this is coming to a vote at our next meeting not a vote okay okay no no vote okay okay so we'll have an opportunity to do this yes okay yes great thank you okay it's all but you know everybody's in favor i'm looking forward to um 2022 what our direction should be okay um i don't have um anything to report but um there's quite a few questions we went over the calvin the correction and the governor i i sort of wanted to ask mr uh washington to sort of bring us up to date and talk briefly about security because so many things are happening in a different area of the country as far as kids with guns dysentery shootings and what is the protocol it comes to a lockdown for our school i know that we have a protocol in place but i think we haven't talked about that in a long time and we don't ever know what can happen in any of our schools so could you just briefly tell us about the football sure sure my pleasures so so one all of our schools are covered or no cove it's still required to have monthly drills to ensure the safety of the building so those drills can be typical fire drills and and or those can also be drills for lockdown drills and unfortunately we from time to time we have to have a lockdown drill we may be notified by the police that something has happened in the school community or in some rare instances we may have something happen in the school that requires a lockdown but the point being monthly all of our principals are required to have some type of drill to make sure that the school the students the staff is ready in the event of emergency and so i i just want to reiterate that the school you know despite our time away from the building uh full-time the staff is still participating in drills to make sure we're prepared for real emergency um that that remains unchanged for us in the school district for sure and and and i think in time miss hoover as we move to as the cabinet and i move toward developing and revisiting our district our strategic plan to 2022 23 and beyond you know our school climate which was certainly highlighted in the first iteration of the strategic plan but we'll definitely revisiting that and being a little bit even more strategic about school safety for perhaps some type of audit for our school district to make sure we are maximizing our grant dollars because right now we are a recipient of a secure school security grant which will get a significant reimbursement those monies and john as well one of the many things i've already put in john's office and in his lap and making sure that we have a plan in place for to maximize these grant money security grant monies um to to make sure we have high quality security for all of our schools so this could be anything from cameras this could be anything from upgrades and cameras upgrades and for our schools and communications it could be vestibules you know walking into our school areas i believe some of some of our schools already have have been outfitted with new vegetables you know to to to help with school security we will have some type of audit done with these monies to get an assessment for the entire district and then come up with a security plan to make sure all of our buildings are safe so that's definitely something that we prioritize against the school district thank you now next uh my question would be and maybe some of the other members might be able to answer as i go to the early learning center on granville avenue which is a beautiful facility and who is responsible for putting a sign there to make people that are flying up and down that street and parents are crossing the street with the little ones there's nothing when they come from white street to turn up granville avenue or come down osborne street to say that there's there's children so i don't know if the city is responsible for that because it's very important and it's not just for granville avenue it's for all of our schools but most of the people are not used to that school being the church being a school and they just come 100 percent at homeowner and the parents are trying to cross over to get to the school so my question is who's responsible making sure there's some type of sign that says that you know parents of course when we have small kids or whatever this sign has to say yeah sure yes that starts with the chief police okay okay thank you i didn't know he's our chief traffic guy also okay he will filter it down so kelly how do we make sure that that happens i certainly want to thank all of our board members because for the last year and a half we all have been on all kinds of schedules and and being at the meetings and being here to support uh what we could do as elected officials i really want to thank over who has done a beautiful job and putting together our minutes you know we all have different talents and i couldn't do the minutes to save my life but thank you over you do a beautiful job okay are there any other questions um mr uh watson do you have anything you want to move forward none from my side okay i'm sorry just a question before i'm sorry committee's report or whatever not a committee but um just a question as to um the progress with our transportation um we're closing in on quarter one of the school year so is that still a work in progress i know kids are still on some really long bus routes so the reality is there's still parents out there who are still asking same question and the answer is it's two-fold one it's gotten a lot better to the point where it's not the overwhelming item in my office in our respective offices and we're worried about how late kids are getting home every day that's not the same kind of issues as we had before but now i think we're at a point where we're comparing it to regular school and we know we're not as efficient as when regular school goes so we're certainly better i don't know how much better we're going to get right now um just kind of given the bus shortage the bus shortage challenge has not been resolved when when we partnered when we contracted with sta we received additional buses but we didn't receive the additional drivers with those buses and we we just have a shortage that we're still dealing with and then when they have one or two people that are out if they do um the routes are combined and the routes are longer for kids and it's it's daily um i i anticipated we would have challenged with testing sca has done an amazing job making sure tests are available for their drivers my understanding is on monday they have the results on wednesday they bring the test results to them so it's actually been less of an issue as i as i had anticipated i'm happy to report that they still have normal absences the way we do as an organization and when they do given that they're already stretched you know we feel it as a school district with with all of that said it it's so much better than two months at the beginning of the school year um but i'm hoping we can still find some efficiencies within how we do things to see if we can't make it even better i think a lot of our folks are still reluctant to just let all the kids get on the bus because we're trying to avoid everyone gathering in one space but as a result of time and just timeliness and being efficient i don't think we have a choice if we're going to get kids in the time to get home in a timely fashion so there's things some other things we're still working on any other questions okay amy do you wanna no i'm gonna wait now you wanna you wanna wait man yeah okay okay okay if there's uh superintendent doesn't have anything else on the agenda and there's no other communications or comments i need to entertain a motion to enter into executive session [Music] the board convened an executive session for the purpose of discussing negotiations with dsaa administrators and the teamsters union local 677 international brotherhood of teamsters school lunch personnel with possible action in public session second so now weldon with it he sends it all the way back to drew drew will make a pass to the right side evans with it he touches it to the outside of the shadow pashado sending it to the middle it's directed back towards koran and now a miss touch ends up with evans trying to make a cross but it's successfully defended now welding with it he steps into it from far and now an opportunity for head ball the goalie does not have possession but the ref will blow the whistle and now we have brady dobeck joining me welcome brady what's up chad how's everybody doing tonight hope we're doing well doing pretty good so uh chad i mean what's going on uh 20 minutes have passed uh back and forth games so far it's 0-0 we're at the 20-25 left in the first and i mean there's been some opportunities for both teams for sure they've been trying longmeadow's been trying to send it up field to good hinds a lot but usually the past has been a bit too far and they end up with drew and for esau meadow we've definitely had a few shots on that so possession and seems to be 50 50.

yeah most neither of the goaltenders have really been tested so far and now we have good hinds once again ball is too far from him and it'll end up back with quran and he plays it to pachetto and now moreno with the ball in midfield but yeah so far it's 50 50 pretty much i'd say maybe esau metal might have a bit more possession but pretty good turnout here uh crowdwise tonight yup both sides yeah there there is a lot of longmeadow fans on the other side and online we got a big crowd here tonight watching this semi-final playoff game so as you know the last game was three to three in the game before that was three to two so far i know you've noticed the physical or the physicality of this matchup what do you have to say about that well i mean last game the island metals first game against westfield they were they used their body really well able to box out the other team and opponents a great job getting in the way um and so i'm i'm looking to see that tonight because it worked against westfield and now a shot from the outside by mazza uh they're offsides though there but they were offside good through ball from brunel it was noticed particularly between these two teams in terms of the rivalry anything i mean islam meant a long metal it doesn't get any better than this chad i mean the longmeadow has in east longmeadow has been a classic rivalry it's probably i would say the best one in western mass but that's just me um and we've got two solid teams on the field tonight so i'm really looking forward to to this game he's somehow a team who hasn't had to struggle as much this season i believe ranked number two in the state for division two this is a team they're playing right now that has given them a good match both of the games they've played them and especially right there you see an example colin evans just ripping a shot on net east longmeadow they did a great job of just getting shots on that in that first playoff game versus westfield shots create opportunities and you know it doesn't matter because rebounds can always happen as well so you get a shot you get a rebound you get a scoring opportunity so the ball is back at midfield rin tool tries to play at the good hinds but now stevens will defend the ball ends up back in longmeadow possession a shots takes a step into it that's deflected off evans the ball will go out of bounds now a long metal throwing that's played to rin tool it's a little bit too far and now mazda tries to play it towards midfield more no fighting for it ends up with good hinds now on the right side longmeadow is playing it up field it's defended by stevens and now corona with the ball and moreno gets the pass and he's playing up to mazza mazzo's speed is sending up to the middle to brunel brunel tries to i believe cross it there and it comes off of his foot yeah he's an unusual place didn't quite get his hips around yeah he's unable to get behind that ball and make a solid cross still some wet conditions from these past few days i mean we could be seeing some rain tonight that could be affecting some of the game play here and now mazza plays it to weldon weldon touching it up to morneau moreno to brunel on the left side and he's fended off by number eight vito cochi and now it's weldon with a throwing he plays it to morneau and now an outside i think pass to mazza and that paul ends up out of bounds long metals are doing a good job of shutting down that middle clogging it up yep isla meadow has not been able to play their usual game on the inside their defenders have been pretty successful so far with a shots leading the middle is the center back and now that ball will be played back to giroux giroud plays it right side it'll be given to pachetto shout out to carano and now he's some meadow is trying to play it on the right side it's more nat moreno with the ball in the middle he plays it long to brunell brunel with an outside shot and it rolls into henry's hands another opportunity for you salt meadow there is starting to kind of take control offensively i like the quick shots i do too one's bound to go in and that ball went out of bounds off number six um ryan mulderick and it'll be weldon stepping up to take the throw in just under 14 minutes remaining first half now the throne is taken it's more no with that he tries to play it up but stevens now defending good hinds and now an opportunity but giroud steps up and plays it out of bounds so now a throwing on the outside and it's mazza trying to make a move bates fighting for it and they will call a free kick there did you catch the call there i just i've been a little pushing and shoving so now shots will step up to take it looks like we got some new players in for some as well joe presnell and dante bates yup they've been kind of rotating three people it's been quran um luke mazza and one other player i believe and you got uh monroe in there as well on the right side yup and then monroe and presnel and bates have been switching in for those three players i can't think of a third on the other line so now fresno with the ball on the outside he plays it to evans evans with a nice cross to the middle and now it's with moreno at midfield morneau plays it to mazza mazza trying to make a move but it's defended off by shots and now that ball is deflected off in east salmeado face and it's evan's fighting for it presnell trying to help him out president is able to gain possession now and he will cross it to the middle and an opportunity and he scores sonny mazza with the header in from the cross by joe presnell what a goal for east meadow great goal from mazza i mean fresno did a phenomenal job in the corner protecting that ball and was able to create space using his body like we talked about earlier and turn the hips beautiful chip cross right to sonny mazza far post and he's able to just get a nice head on it one nothing east long meadow a phenomenal cross there and a phenomenal finish love to see it it's a one nothing game now with 11 39 remaining in this first half and now longmeadow will set up to take the kickoff it's chris karan crannon plays it immediately to good hinds getting physical now it's evans on the outside evan's trying to make a move and it'll end up with paschetto shuttle will send it past midfield to marnell morneau trying to play it to president unsuccessful and now mazzle will tap it back to morneau off the deflection he sends it far to monroe and now another opportunity and mazza takes the shot but it goes right of the net islam is definitely putting the pressure on right now the ball will be kicked past midfield and weldon will send it out of bounds and longmeadow now taking the throw in it's baits playing it and evans with it he sends it to munro monroe trying to play it up field it's deflected and it's back to bates bates heads it over to weldon weldon sends it to morneau mourinho with a pass over to bates but it's now with longmeadow that pass is directed all the way up towards good hinds but it's fended off by mazza and now the ball is at midfield esau metal fighting for it longmeadow gains possession sonny mazza trying to play it and now drew will step up to try and looks like uh longmeadow uh i think that is i think a free kick yeah free kick got taken down i thought it was going to be closer to the box when they called it but it's pretty far back about 50 yards out from the goal he plays it to the middle and now drew is able to step up and make a play on it and he grabs it and he will now look to make the pun he sends it past or up to midfield and now it is monroe trying to make a header on it bait's fighting for it on the outside it's pescetal with it he advances it past midfield now monroe trying to make a header on it puts it out of bounds and it'll be long meadow here with the throwing so now it's thrown in and you saw meadow has possession and morneau will send it up to president on the left side president will take it he's looking to make a move he sends it over to bates bates sends it to evans and it's fended off by longmeadow good hinds with it now good hinds getting it past midfield he sends it over to rin tool rental trying to make a play on it but it'll be weldon who defends it and he will let it roll out of bounds for a long meadow throw in here yeah longmeadow's definitely starting to pick up the pace you know that goal might have lit a fire underneath him and they're gonna try they're trying to tie this game up before half time yep absolutely so now longmeadow will step up to take it it's number nine chris koran he sends it all the way to the middle and now an opportunity for east or for longmeadow is fended off it's monroe trying to play it he gains control and now it's esometo going the other way it's evans with speed he sends a long through ball directed towards fresno but it's fended off by number 11 frederick koran and now islam is doing a good job of uh switching fields tonight you know they go one way go the other that way the defense can't stay with them you know they're constantly moving yeah expanding their playing field to spread the game out and potentially pull those longmeadow defenders to the outside to maybe clear up the middle a little bit and now shot from the outside is scooped up by henry and he will now go to take the punt he boots it but monroe is there to intercept it and now it's east salmetto playing it with headers monroe with it at midfield monroe taps it to the middle over to evans and evans tries to make a chip pass but it ends up going out of bounds and now number five thomas mcmahon will go to take the throwing and slum meadow with it at midfield they played up to good hinds good heinz to mcmahon now on the left side longmeadow with it and they are warded off and monroe sends it out of bounds subs coming in here for isla meadow ryan brunell and we have amman karana and luke mazza as well and longmeadow sub number 21 carson macchio he'll be replacing connor 5 40 remaining in the first half islam at all one nothing and it looks like jacob shetto is limping off the field now not sure what happened there i didn't see anything um but the shadow is definitely seems to be in some pain and josh riley oh yeah riley's gonna be filling his spot big roll for him to fill and that is a shot on net from way outside giroud does not have to make an effort for it as it goes over than that but it clearly deflected off a nissan metal defender and it'll end up with a long metal corner kick i definitely think riley's ready for this roll though he's played in some big games and had some really big goals so now that corner is played to the middle and it's defended off by enzo mazz and he is tripped up and they will call free kick now for east saw meadow i agree with you though josh riley i think he's ready i know his my favorite goal of the season so far i believe is a 40-yarder you know yeah yeah absolute snipe it was a big goal too tango yep you know sometimes when that coach tells you hey listen up you're going in your heart starts pumping your mind starts racing you might lose focus but i think he's prepared and ready to go and he's definitely had some playing time this season he's one of the fewer juniors that has played so far i know biggins usually plays but he's currently out and now a shot from way outside gets into the goal but then they're saying no goal because i believe it went off the field goal yep yep we're gonna say it went off the uh yep it went off the the lower part of the uprights so the crossbar the uprights and i mean that shot it kind of like bounced back and forth between the the net crossbar and the field goal upright crossbar it went because or crossbar field goal field goal crossbar and then the back of the goal is um or the back hit off heather's back yeah hit off henry's back and went in so a break there for longmeadow it will result now in a corner kick though and brunel will look up to make up for this but once again just a quick shot it's it's a deep shot but it you know it's a quick shot catches the goalie off guard let's send to the middle it's a bit too far and now i believe weldon fighting for it now corona with an outside shot and it's scooped up by henry [Music] 310 remaining so yeah longmeadow catches a break there and what would have been a big goal and it's weldon now playing the pun and he sends a field but it's longmeadow with possession now that's played up but riley's there to defend and that ends up going out of bounds and it'll be i think luke mazzus stepping up to take this throw and he plays it to karana now mazz on the outside playing it up to sonny mazza now chrono with it in the middle he plays it over to brunel brunell touching it over to bates and it's now evans with the ball he makes a nice pass to mazza but that ball is cleared and long meadow is trying to go the other way bates steals it sends it to karana karana plays it far up the right side and now is that i think that's josh riley trying to play it up on the right side juan metal's certainly matching the physicality tonight that east long meadow has had all season and now shadow is setting up to take that roll again and josh riley will step back out so clearly a short-term injury or he's just playing through it now it's bates playing that with a header it's karana fighting for it that's played out to mazza mazza plays it up field set evan and now it's longmeadow going the other way he sends it to good heinz goodhain's trying to make a play on it he's tripped up by karana there's gonna be no call as the referee thought it was all ball and that ball ends up out of bounds and it'll be drew now with the with the goal kick one metal crowd is not happy with the no call there under a minute remaining in the first half you summon a crowd although large tonight has not been very loud so now a double header and it's evans with it piranha will play it the outside but definitely uh looks like reps are just letting them play right now because you know that was that was essentially the makeup call evan just got bodied off of that one and i didn't catch it i was i was watching the ball around the field what happened just kind of got body checked so that's going to make up for uh the missed call on koran there there but it was both plays for the ball so reps are letting them play i like that it's a big game they don't want to you know be responsible yep as long as they can achieve that as long as they keep you know the majority of control yeah you know so uh that'll do it for the first half island metals up one nothing um so far from what i've seen the last 20 minutes islam medals look pretty good longmeadow down one nothing but they are certainly not giving up they're continuing to fight and uh i mean this second half this second half is going to be it's going to be a real good one absolutely i mean goaltenders are playing well defense is playing well both sides i like eastside meadows meadow's ability to switch fields that's really keeping the defenders on their toes longmeadow is doing some nice job passing using the speed up top to try and create scoring opportunities yeah it's been a great game so far it's one nothing you saw meadows preparing to continue the game now as they get get into their huddle and we have a 10 minute half time we'll be back on lcat thank you for joining us uh welcome back to east long meadow high school for this matchup between islam metal spartans and the longmeadow late lancers the semifinal game and currently east longmeadow is up one nothing and longmeadow is looking to tie it up both teams playing well so far in the first half it was back and forth towards the end a little bit in the middle of that half isla meadow had some solid offensive possession and uh sunny mazza was able to tuck one in from joe president nissan metal applying the pressure early in the second half yes they are now one metal set up for a goal kick it's the shots he'll send it to past half field and mick mahone will give it to quran quran with a cutback move back to mcmahon and then quran just going gonna screen that one out so it's gonna be a long metal throwing for chris caron he'll send it way up goes off of the foot of enzo mazza and ends up out of bounds it's gonna be a long meadow corner kick so solid opportunity for longmeadow coming up both teams seem to have a dangerous corner kick setup yeah both of them definitely have some nice set plays and a head ball from good hinds goes in a beautiful cross from number six of longmeadow ryan mulderrig and he finds good hinds inside the six and good hinds gets a solid head on that one this game is tied 1-1 with that goal scored in a minute 40.

olivia ratliff armstrong to ratliff oh and she's got a two-pointer herself shetty oh and defense there from ratliff she's able to keep it is she yes he is she is oh but back to bathurum oh and then that is the thing that you just never know who's gonna have possession it can be that quick good defense there from both teams and jones now will take the ball out finds bethurham passes it up to snelson for thurm takes it to the hole good defense there from dean and another jump ball this time possession will go to rock creek six minutes left in the fourth quarter we definitely have a [Applause] packed house here at south side for both teams ty struggles it up gives it to dean able to hope jones comes down with the rebound [Applause] and gurley with the good defense able to get it oh she passes into ratliff but once again shows aggressive dribbling back there to dean oh and just a little off jones will inbound it oh and looks like it was off south side it will go back to rock creek just a little over five minutes left in the fourth quarter dean will inbound it able to find ratliff ratliff takes it down the right side crosses it over and she puts it up but good defense there from bethurum who takes it down dribbles to the right side oh and finds good defense from dean it will be a jump ball possession will stay with south side [Applause] a couple of subs coming in here for south side jones well maybe they'll wait into bethurum oh unable to convert another chance oh just a little strong and another jump ball this time to rock creek and gourley we'll pass it in to ratliff four minutes 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter 21 to 12 rock creek ratliff dribbles the ball good defense finds dean back to jessup ralif oh and jessup comes up with it [Applause] jessup double-teamed understandably so who had a very hot first half pass it to dean [Applause] let's see i believe that was number 12 georgia watkins with the shot and dean will take a seat pass in gorilla to ratliff good defense though from bethurham snelson she puts it up oh so close snelson has played great defense this entire game unable to convert there but number five has shown quite a bit of hustle gourley into ratliff guarded by shetty and defense there oh no no we don't want to it is a learning league and sometimes we have to learn uh which which goal is ours which side is ours and thankfully no points there and good defense from bethurham [Applause] jones will take it out two minutes 45 seconds to go passes it into bethurum ooh good defense there from rock creek but gourley unable to keep it two minutes 30 seconds left so i believe that's ingle owl coming in for ratliff jones no one no one guarding snelson there shetty gets the ball back to jones in the corner and looks like she might have picked up her pivot foot there two minutes left 21-12 rock creek here jessup will bring the ball up and down the court guarded by bethurim at half court [Music] jess back with the ball dribbles around and gorly with the shot and pass it down to number one oh and bethurum gets the rebound and she will take it coast to coast she's able to find snelson down there good defense from rock creek back out to bethurum shots up jones and gourley comes down with it jessup from three ball oh almost hit a three-pointer and nice rebound there from inglewood shout out to carly humphries number one who's made a couple of good rebounds and passes trying to get to know everybody on the roster here and give them some kudos also number 10 paige gilmore in the game gourley will take it out and she will pass it in england but there there's nelson once again great defense but the jump ball will stay with rock creek gourly guarded by shetty and another jump ball this time ball will go to south side 55 seconds left 21-12 rock creek hennessy with the ball swarming defense from gourley and another jump ball rock creek will take possession picked up full court now from shetty and hennessy gourley passes it in up snelson hennessy with the rebound and she gets it nice shot from hennessy there and engel out will take the ball of the court passes it to humphreys humphreys hits eagle out but there's nelson playing defense once again oh the ball looks like it went off of shetty's knee there 19.8 seconds left [Music] 19 seconds oh and bethurum oh no ingle owl will take the ball out oh and good defense from bethurham on the breakaway and she gets it for the uncontested and three-point up the clock will continue to run and that's the ball game and game one rock creek able to take it 21-16 great effort by both teams jessup and dean came out hot early for rock creek but south side hung in there and grace bethurum andrea snelson ellie frazier and coming in there madeleine hennessey able to pick up some points to keep the south side mustangs in it we're going to go ahead and take a looks like about a 11 and a half minute break and we will back be back with the boys game here for south side able to get possession with the jump ball satterfield oh good defense from rock creek but back to the mustangs [Music] [Applause] so far scrappy play from both teams rock creek jax brennaman takes it passes it ridge kester over to patrick strickland back to kessler up and ball will go back to south side [Applause] satterfield once again will inbound it [Music] is sean 44 there with the rebound that's drew hoffman and that'll be the first points of the game [Applause] hoffman able to get that weak side rebound put it up 4-2 south side to two rock creek zero [Applause] oh and looks like a foul [Applause] call on brennaman number five [Applause] parker jones brings the ball up for the mustangs over to hoffman often back to 14.

longmetal certainly came out with some fire they were able to capitalize on that corner kick moreno is just going to send it up the sideline brunel trying to get a foot on it but it's cleared out ends up on weldon's foot [Music] leave it's going to be east long metal throwing for ben weldon he'll send it into the middle to karana karana takes as a touch and he'll send it out wide to pachetto pachetta will send a ball at the net and it goes off of henry's fingers so it's going to be a east long meadow corner kick now hopefully you saw metal can return the punch here ryan moreno will be taking the kick he'll send it high to the back post colin evans gets ahead on it and henry's able to scoop it up henry being very patient waiting for his team to regroup we'll send it way past half field and vito kacchi just misses the head on that one comes to the middle to quran quran using his speed mick mahone back to koran a give and go pass karan with the pullback move he'll send it into the middle and good iron tries to get a shot ball comes back out on good hinds foot and luke mazza is going to clear it but it's picked off back to mcmahon in the corner and he'll send it out of bounds it's gonna be a goal kick for giroux longmeadow picking up a lot of momentum after that goal another great opportunity for them which almost resulted in a goal but a great defensive play there to clear it out of danger's way giroud sends it to mourinho at midfield head ball to quran quran makes a nice pass out wide and mike monroe battling on the sideline and cost us or coast us he's going to clear that one out through ball to the far side for brunel brunel races up the side he's battling in the corner brunel is able to get a touch on it not enough quite to get it in front of the net goes out of bounds long metal goal kick and the shots sends it stevens gets a head ball on it comes on to a long metal player's foot nick mahone and koran and there's going to be a little bit of extra contact there from islam metal players so it's going to be a free kick for longmeadow about 40 yards out my middle crowd certainly starting to get into it east low middle crowd has been fairly quiet all night or at least since i've been here uh yeah it's been pretty quiet most of that longmeadow setting up on the left side of the 18.

and satterfield on the weak side rebound out to ease sean but picked up by brandon and rock creek comes up with the ball oh good defense there from south side but ball will stay with rock creek ridge kester in passes it to brannaman [Applause] strickland passes it outside shot from brandon satterfield with the ball up back to brennaman rock creek and number 12 with the ball oh passes it back to brandon long shot he able to track down his own rebound but the ball was out of bounds and it will go to south side satterfield once again into hoffman and good defense there from strickland number 12 from rock creek and he was fouled [Applause] so far both teams just trying to get things started kester will inbound it to strickland number 23 aaron lecker and number 14 cody jordan in for rock creek [Applause] as well as jacoby noble brandon's still in there see i can't see that number there [Music] south side brings the ball of the court to ishan oh and a nice nice post play and that's four quick ones from south side good defense there hoffman gets the ball passed it to satterfield man good swarming defense there from rock creek i think that was brandon and parker jones we'll take it out we've got some substitutes coming in katawaki number 32 as well as gohar chick number 42 and noah corny number 20.

and they sent it in the middle and it's headed out by weldon balls out just at the top of the 18. and i think stevens just or more no just cleared that one out throw in for a long battle he'll will it way up to good hinds across but it's a little far and morneau once again is just gonna sky that one out and sonny mazza with the ball makes a nice cut move fires it outside to monroe monroe a little heavy on the touch there but it uh cost us is just gonna kick that one out of bounds it's gonna be east long metal throwing and we have a sub coming in dante bates replacing him on kirana luke mazzle with the throw in he'll give it to bates bates looking for his options he tries to send a little through ball but it's intercepted by costas and now costas will send it up to good hinds and mazda's there to make a nice little touch play to himself he'll send it to the other side to weldon weldon finds evans in the middle evans quick touch to mazza mata's just gonna rip one on net and it goes just a little high and wide another great shot from sonny mazza the shots with the goal kick luke mazza gets a head on it and it'll put it out of bounds long little throwing for costas he'll send it up the sideline to koran he's contested by mazza mazza and quran battling monroe there to help him out and monroe is going to clear it to the middle finding sonny mazza mazza can't quite get a touch on it so a shot tries to clear colin evans blocks it down with his foot and it goes they're gonna say it's out of bounds off of and there's two balls being played right now i don't even know what's going on a little bit of mix up there more no with the ball now he'll send it to brunel well defended evans and koran go up for the head ball ball comes back to mourinho and costas is just gonna touch that one up brunell dante bates luke mazzle with the meg around casas cuts inside passes to evans and evan scores [Applause] [Music] and they're going to call no goal on the play and longmeadow quick to go the other way good hinds with the ball now racing he's got some numbers and tries to get a through ball pass good hinds with the ball now he's got a room and it's blocked by patrick stevens and goes out of bounds it's gonna be a long metal corner kick i don't know what happened there chad i'm gonna think it that it was an offsides call but that goal is called back so the second goal called back and longmeadow this time was quick to try and take advantage of esau meadow caught off guard they were they immediately took the goal kick and and coach of east saw metal definitely wants an explanation there so they're gonna call him offsides on the play that is two goals called back i believe for an offsides that's surprising that that offside excuse me not on offsides one of them was called back because it hit the pylon but i'm saying that that last goal that that's surprising that that was called and offsides i was under the impression that that mazza was past the guy that he made the pass to yeah i don't know if the ball is in front i mean an outstanding move and a cross is punched out by giroud dante bates with some speed but he's shut down by quran and weldon and quran collide and both go down the play and changing some words weldon trying to get east salt meadow going there with that physicality joe president entering the game for islamal is going to replace ryan brunell just over 30 minutes remaining in the second half 1-1 is our score throw in for esau medals ben weldon walden is a competitive guy we'll see well then and baits and i believe mick mahone get tied up on the far side and it's gonna be a free kick for longmeadow and it's deep and geru punches it out and it's cleared to the sideline by colin evans it's gonna be a throw in for longmeadow [Music] so quran has the throwing and he'll put it all the way almost inside the six and it's headed out and he'll just shatter the ball booting it way and left over the net ball boys are getting some action there drew with the goal kick in a head ball from rogus dante bates tries to head it to luke mazza now and koran going at it balls stolen by number eight of longmeadow kachi kochi kochi excuse me you're right chad my bad and ball's gonna go out of bounds and they're gonna say it's off a east long metal mulderig with a nice play able to use his body and screen screen off mazza and mulderrig is gonna have a corner kick he'll send it far post a head ball a little too far and more no chases it down and there's a whistle on the play that one out of bounds i believe might be calling it offsides on the longmeadow that's right i've seen lometo trying to take advantage of these plays like free kicks and goal kicks trying to catch esau meadow off guard evans and koran in the middle they get tangled up a little bit luke mazza nice job to create some space giving go to mike monroe mazzle with the ball now he's able to beat casas a one on one with casas casas is going to win that battle and clear it back to midfield to quran enzo mazza and quran enzo mazzo with a beautiful touch pass to himself over the head of koran and he's able to get it cross field to weldon welding to the sideline and now some noise from the east saw meadow crowd finally stolen by muldering he'll send it way up the sideline good hand good hinds is racing with stevens good hinds poke checked by steven stevens [Music] and ball comes up to the top of the 18 and long metal players tripped up on the play no call i believe that was coachy we got tripped up on the play there it's going to be a long metal throwing for quran [Music] and yeah once again they're quick to make that play they'll go up the sideline to mulderrig and ball goes off of monroe's foot and it's going to be a long meadow corner kick muldering sends it far post finds the head of good hinds good hinds can't direct it on net cost us in sunny mazza a one-on-one battle maz is able to find colin evans evans trying to make a move he's got two defenders on him and casas is gonna clear back to rogas monroe a nice pass to mourinho moreno is just going to rip one on that and that field goal is good way over the crossbar there's some great passing there by issa meadow they were able to move the ball around offensively and it set them up for an outside shot but it's good to see that pretty some meadow shots dante bates is going to head that ball rogas and presnel perron triple teamed and cochi is on the ground with the ball now he'll touch it to himself and he gives it to evans evans to the middle to brunel brunel with a quick pass no more no morneau trying to find evans inside the 18 is unable to do so and coachy he's going to send that one up but blocked down by luke mazza luke mazza will send it back inside of shots is going to one touch tap that one back to midfield good hinds and patrick stevens and zomaza to luke mazza on the sideline of presnel presnel trying to get a give and go with brunel and presnel and there's gonna be a little too much contact there on longmeadow a free kick for east longmeadow some good ball movement from presnel and brunel and uh mazza is trying to get a few extra yards patrick stevens will be taking the kick these some that are really building on this chemistry right now there have been able to move the ball around on this right side very well recently 24 minutes remaining the score is still 1-1 patrick stevens sends it and it's headed by colin evans and just goes wide of the left post out of bounds a goal kick for a shot the shots booted up to half field patrick stevens a one-touch pass over to luke mazza and rintool is going to steal the ball from mazza he races and maz is able to come back on the back check and get rin tool and they're gonna say it's an east long meadow throwing some great hustle there by luke mazza to make up for his mistake and it ends up in the islam meadow throwing fortunately as there was some contesting to that rest call luke mazza them more no more no trying to touch the president but it's taken by quran rental with it on the sideline he'll touch it towards the goal line enzo mazza playing some solid defense and looks like the mulderig it's able to get a light shot on that drew scoops that one up no problem and he boots it finds colin evans evans goes up for the head ball taken by ryan brunell brunel is just going to volley it out of the air and the ball scoots out off by henry's feet and presnel's there henry's able to dive on it henry high punt mourinho goes off the back of his head a clear up to evans evan's a pullback move on karan brunel trying to find more no in the middle it's blocked and a collision on the sideline with mcmahon and and weldon you know a substitution being made it's michael monroe coming in for luke mazza boston sports update for you bruins are down to the florida panthers two to one more now brunel and it goes off of the face of a long metal defender sonny mazza trying to get another deep shot on it's blocked brunell and mulderrig and also a game two of the world series it's the top of the first between the houston astros and atlanta braves zero zero game game two that world series koran miss head ball lands on sonny mazzus foot he'll try and send a through ball but it's denied my number i think 18 santorelli on that right side out of bounds off of east long metal throw in for long medals of shots and a sub coming in number eight vito cochi replacing number five thomas mcmahon a deep throw in from a shots weldon one touch it up to colin evans colin evans is gonna switch fields finds joe president presley with a shot and it just goes left of the net a great touch by evans in a great pass switching fields over to presnel almost resulted in a goal just goes barely left the net and now one metal here to recover shots sends it to midfield good hinds a good job of protecting the ball but it's eventually cleared rin tool sends a through ball to good hinds drew comes out and slides on it [Applause] some good aggression by drew there to make the play on it drew line drive punt it's poked back to number 18 santorelli and he's just gonna kind of pop it over everybody's heads can end up on in jerus hands drew another line drive punt enzo mazza to more no more no battling in the middle with mulder egg it comes back to bates bates is tested by rin tool makes a nice spinning touch pass to monroe monroe with the cross pass over everybody's heads and ends up in henry's hands 18 25 remaining in the second half 1-1 is the score morneau trying to switch fields to fresno but it's broken up by koran santorelli chasing that one down across into the middle joe president with the volley and can't quite get his foot behind the face of the ball and it's gonna spin off to the right out of bounds for a goal kick for a shot president with another good opportunity tries to get a foot on it can't make great contact on the volley and it ends up yeah rin tool enzo mazza nice job of defending there and the student section for east long meadow is starting to come alive late into this game colin evans tries to get a through ball of president but it's broken up by costas and good hinds a nice touch pass move to himself around monroe chased down by presnel and stevens is going to step up enzo maz on rental battling and maz is down on the play holding his right ankle brunell up field he's got some numbers tried to a give-and-go pass but it ends up on santorelli's foot and mazza is down holding his right ankle that is not good for you salmetto mazza is a talented defender on this team he's being lifted up some good sportsmanship displayed there by connor rintoul and good hinds and uh you see there mulderrig giving mazz a pat in the back even though these guys are rivals they definitely show some respect and it's a good it's a good uh physical match up but you know technically they're both from well the mama town technically they're both just kind of the two twins split from it so have a little bit of uh if my history is even right there i don't remember a push class when john fitzpatrick you can give that islam history yeah believe projection from law meadow because they were unhappy with the politics of some sort of drew now sends a high sky eyeball a lot of backspin on that one just about the 50mm hash mornell back to weldon weldon to evans evans a quick touch pass ends up on more nose foot but it's cleared out and uh deep crossing from weldon and more now is going to get a head ball in it and it's going to trickle in another no goal another no goal on the play third goal more no scores and the third goal called back for east longmeadow 16 minutes remaining more uh more no got a head ball on it it was stopped by henry trickled out in front and eventually went in the net and i'm not sure why it's called back i mean we get no signals up here but i think there was some contact between mourinho and the goaltender maybe a little bit of interference i don't i really don't know i believe that was the call i believe that there's some interference going on monroe trying to get sonny mazza mazza tries to rip a shot on net but it's blocked dante bates and rental baits a nice touch pass around rental goes to the sideline it's oh almost kept in by president but they're going to say it's out of bounds long metal throwing i give some credit debates tonight he's been a strong player for east all meadow rental been able to stop a lot of attacks [Music] karana intercepts that one good hinds chases it down on mourinho brunel cross field over karan's head sonny mazza trying to get a head ball to put himself into some space rental goes down rental again with the ball good hinds tries to find cochi running towards the flag but it's intercepted more no's gonna clear that one back a shot is gonna return the favor mick mahone with the ball now tries to find rin tool nicely defended there sonny mazza comes flying after and good heinz has the ball and is going to get a shot on the wide open net but had a really bad angle ball comes back to muldering mulderrick tries to get a shot on that koran will whip one from deep out and it goes over the crossbar good hinds drew went out to get the ball and missed it good heinz was able to touch it around giroud but a little too much on it and didn't have the angle to quite get a clean shot into the net and just sends it kind of running parallel to the goal line east almetto catches a break there it's still a one-to-one game with 13 30.

uprights of one was interference it might have been interference yeah who knows we weren't really sure on the third one but uh yeah i definitely think there was some contact between uh goaltender and uh uh moreno yeah it was more now i believe more knowing the goaltender had an exchange in who resulted in no goal quran high throwing luke mazza goes off his thigh and out of bounds another throwing for quran you saw my old parents starting to get going as well a deep throw in from koran headed by good hinds a high foot there for moldrig potential dangerous play there and enzo mazza where giroud will be taking the free kick and zomazza who was previously injured is now back out on the field fortunately for some meadow we're happy that it was nothing bad jerome bates with a nice head ball to sonny mazza but it's kicked out now patrick stevens contested by good hinds stephen's able to get a touch on it fired up to brunel brunell debates bates switches field a nice little bike stop there to brunel brunel trying to get a shot on ed's jammed up by santorelli kirana a shot on net and it's stopped by henry 3 15 remaining luke mazza and good hinds good hinds is going to let that ball go out of bounds is taken down by moreno on the play and he wants a call they will not give him anything just to throw in for longmeadow i believe they're just letting them play tonight koran throwing send it up the sideline nobody home enzo mazza is going to let that one trickle out of bounds at goal kick for ben giroux 2 30 remaining in the second half 1-1 game giroux sends it just in front of the 50-yard hash monroe tries to touch it around koran the other quran passed back to costas and mazza and koran goes out of bounds maz is just going to pick that ball up and throw it finding luke as a double head ball for mazzan karana amman karana sends it far side to brunel brunell evans in the middle evan switches fields to mike monroe monroe has quran on him and makes a beautiful touch pass over quran's head a little too heavy on the secondary touch and kostus is going to clear it and they're going to say that there's an offsides possibly on rin tool or good hinds i did not catch who so what are the patrick stevens looking to take the free kick do you have the playoff rules on uh a tie uh uh they might be doing golden goal and then if golden goal nothing happens there i think it's like 10 minutes golden goal whoever scores first wins luke mazzle gets a shot on net it's cleared ben weldon trying to get a volley out of the air brunell and it's just cleared out heavily i think the patrick stevens makes a play out wide to weldon well then a chip up finding evans in the middle evans has got some room he's going to rip a shot and it's a skipper and henry is able to scoop that one up under 40 seconds remaining and then i think after golden goal they'll go into shootouts stay shootouts i'm not sure or it's golden goal the whole time i'm not sure i'm referring to my good old fat okay and longmeadow just completely clears it into the woods that's gonna be a nice hike for somebody later that thing is about 50 feet in the woods and a timeout called from east long meadow ball is in the defending zone of longmeadow and we will try and figure out what i'm not sure the yeah the miaa rules um i do remember pioneer valley rules but 10-minute sudden victory overtime period yup and then what comes after that um if shootouts thai soul exists after the first 10 minute sudden victory period a second 10-minute sudden victory okay so back-to-back back-to-back over time change ends back-to-back overtime so it's golden goal whoever scores first will win there's 19.3 seconds remaining 1-1 game in this semi-final matchup between longmeadow and your east long metal spartans yeah so and then after that if there's still a tie then it'll go into a shootout okay so two overtimes golden goal if there's still no goal yep and no winner then it will go to pk's exactly all right that is the ruling off the mia website for tournament dante bates the throw-in in the attacking zone it's headed out bates comes right back to him patrick stevens rips a shot on night and it goes off the crossbar and out of bounds a corner kick and a yellow card is being given to ryan muldrig [Music] i think perhaps he was trying to just cause a distraction to end the the half so he saw metal could not get this corner kick but now islam is an opportunity to score here after that shock skims off the crossbar sunny mazzle with the cross and it is headed out of bounds and that'll do it for regulation a one-one game wow and we will be going into sudden death overtime a 10-minute overtime period and it's gonna be golden goal and we're gonna have i'm not sure if we're gonna have a 10-minute break here a five-minute break this is going to be exciting folks it is a 1-1 game and it has been close if you are with us right now and not presently live at this game i would suggest that you stay with us it is a it is a one-to-one game going into overtime chad takeaways with regulation over i mean those last few minutes east salmeado was just laying it on them they had several great opportunities obviously longmeadow has had some awesome opportunities good hinds had a wide open net from a bit of a poor angle and it just barely went by and bates was able to recover freestyle meadow so it has just been back and forth so far yep the whole time the whole game back and forth and remember east longmeadow has had three goals called back tonight yo three goals three goals but this game's going in overtime and unfortunately i'm gonna have to postpone my ap bio studying for our test tomorrow but um you know it might be up till midnight but it's all right so we have just over three minutes remaining in this five minute break we'll be back with you shortly east long middle high school we are entering golden goal overtime and this semi-final matchup between the longmeadow lancers and your east long metal spartans i'm brady dobeck alongside chad o'brien and i mean we got 10 minutes here and it's it's gonna be it's going to be wild golden globe uh both teams have been back and forth all night east longmeadow unfortunately has had three goals called back tonight um one doing offsides one two the ball hitting the crossbar of the upright and another we believe might have been a goalie interference some contact with the goaltender so we are going into golden goal overtime first one to score we'll take this semifinal game in advance to the western mass championship a huge game here and obviously an emotional one for every single senior out there this could be make or break for the season obviously i think esau meadow has a guaranteed seed in the state tournament as they are the number two ranked team but either way western mass is a big deal around here it can't get much better than this and over time between east longmeadow and longmeadow classic rivalry semi-finals semi-final playoff game it does it packed house i mean it's just there's just nothing better in sports than than moments like these we've got a big long metal crowd we got biggie something absolutely and you can hear them getting noisy and we have both sides shout out to all the lcat listeners here thank you for joining us and mold rig's just going to launch that one towards the corner weldon in rental welding chip it up to the middle to evans evans a touch pass to brunel on the sideline goes to the middle back to mold rig good hinds a defending touch to himself rin tool with the ball now he's a little tripped up on the play enzo mazza with the ball now he's going to try and find joe president on the sideline but it's intercepted by quran quran chasing it down with luke mazza dribbling gets past a couple people ends up on moreno's foot moreno tries to clear it but is blocked down by kochi weldon a head ball and a shot from koran and drew scoops that one up big saved by drew there up the sideline to evans ball goes out of bounds it's gonna be a long metal throw in just about the 50-yard midfield east long metal parents trying to get the student section fired up [Music] brentool dribbling through multiple defenders off of presnel's and it is going to be a free kick for longmeadow just outside the 18 8 15 remaining in the first part of golden goal overtime and i'm not sure who's taking that free kick number 11 number nine and not sure who's kicking i can't make out the number from here try 15.

and 24. cody jordan passes it oh defense there from south side and katawaki pushes it up see jones but oh unable to convert and [Music] [Applause] owen arnholt able to pull down the rebound he was fouled and now kester will get it in to weatherford back to kessler who will pass it oh frog looked to push the ball up but it looked like he might have stepped on the over and back so ball will go back to south side and it is game one for both teams recently chosen teams katawaki oh tried to pass it down to ishan but i will be a travel it's impossible to not notice ishan's size and really doing a great job you know in elementary school moving his feet well using his body you know as a fifth or sixth grader that's sometimes some of the tough things one of the toughest things to do is just learn how to run up and down the court and so far ishawn has been very smooth oh and good defense there from south side jones with the way up and that'll be six two zero kester will bring the ball back 37 seconds left [Applause] good defense once again from jones kawawaki 32 oh and the clock continues to run there is a running clock first quarter here and rock creek will take a timeout and that will stop the clock 13.5 seconds left probably only one or two plays at the most able to happen here and so far it's all south side it started out 6-0 for rock creek in the girls game and just the opposite here in the boys game south side off to a hot start 6-0 jones playing great defense and offense as well as a really nice play down low from number 54 ishawn [Music] [Applause] [Music] rock creek inbounds the ball kester [Music] six oh and the claw continues to run that will probably be yes that will be the end of the first quarter and at the end of one [Applause] 6-0 south side looks like the mustang cheerleaders will take the here court go [Applause] [Music] well thank you to the southside mustangs cheerleaders game one the rock creek lady bulldogs able to pull out the victory and south side boys taking control early as we enter the second quarter here here and satterfield will once again inbound the ball and jones brings it pass it to number two that's briar selby with the ball gets it into hoffman [Applause] oh and a nice shot there from number 30.

i can't catch the number he rips it way over the crossbar and the field goal is good 7 40 remaining i believe i still can't make out who that was giroux sends it to midfield mourinho a bicycle touch to himself up the sideline to brunel brunel across inside of sunny mazza mazda tries to get a head ball on it ball goes out of bounds going to be a long metal goal kick a great look from ryan brunell trying to find sonny mazza outstanding pass all of east salmeado is trying to be on the top of their game right now and that was displayed right there a shot a bullet to midfield moreno heads it santorelli back to more nose foot more no sideline again to brunel and ball goes out of bounds santorelli with the throw in for longmeadow they'll just give a nice little easy lob up to cochi dante bates with the ball at midfield he'll switch fields finding joe presnell on the sideline presnel making some touches through some defenders a pass tomorrow no to mazza to brunel and brunel tries to get a shot on that and it's slide tackle stopped out of bounds by i might have been off of a shots they're gonna say it's off of brunel's foot goal kick i was under the long meadow that i thought that was deflected off the shots ref will say otherwise now they're clearing it shots sends it to midfield santorelli stevens a head ball ping-pong match occurring brunell and santorelli up the sideline brunel defended by a shot and the shots does a good job of protecting that ball in a shot it didn't even look like that ball was quite out of bounds and he just kind of picked it up and said okay well guess it's out of bounds and there's no signal from the ref or anything so hill's just gonna kick it out on the goal kick brunel nice pass to dante bates dante bates joe presnell fresnel turns his hips trying to get across it's deflected out of bounds by braden costas and they will now set up for the corner kick here it'll be sonny mazza setting up next to the flag in a huge play here free salmeto their entire season is coming down to this overtime mazza cross and it comes out to the top of the key dante bates rips one on that another one back and forth brunel will rip a shot on that and henry comes up with a big save 40 remaining in golden goal overtime the first half good hinds goes over the top of enzo mazza and they will come and that's three free kick for patrick stevens wish i had a apple watch now i'd love to check my heart rate i would i would love to as well giroux a missile to more no more no gets a head ball on it quran tries to go over the back joe presnell tries to get a volley kick and kostas will send it up the sideline to quran and that ball's gonna go out of bounds off on islam metal defender karan with the throw in for longmeadow excuse me he's gonna leave it for coast us kostus with the throne sideline mourinho tries to find baits in the middle roguez is there to break it up brunel back to bates it's taken again by muldrig muldrick racing up the outside nice defensive play made by luke mazza and across into the middle good hinds trying to get a head ball on that drew's gonna come out of the net and scoop that one up [Music] cochi getting in his face giroud mazza sideline to presnel fresno back to luke mazza luke mazzago's middle of the baits bates a quick touch pass to evans sonny mazzle with the ball now to brunel brunell goes cross box to presle and they're going to call an offsides possibly on presnel free kick for long medals of shots shots a low laser ends directly on president's foot a nice touch to bring the ball down brunel contesting and he is with santorelli and he's taken down no call in the play santorelli with the ball and he's just gonna clear it and a slide tackle by ben weldon oh ball and they're going to call a yellow card that was on weldon that was all ball maybe a little bit of like i mean he got i mean he kicked the ball out of bounds i mean i think that was almost 99.9 melbourne came in hot but still was able to make a lot of contacts with that soccer ball yeah a number and eight i mean he is being carried off of the field perhaps that's going to be veto coaching and he is he's certainly in some pain he's being carried over to the trainer's table i mean we had some players in front of us we don't know how much exactly shin was affected there but we saw the ball we we heard it and i saw it you know a lot of ball contact there a minute 48 remaining the ref is signaling for an added time of 158 now so we have 158 remaining in the first section of golden goal overtime so so far in this game the refs have been kind of letting them play i'm honestly surprised by that call shots sends it a head ball and jerus scoops that one up rental is following up on off of the head ball giroux is gonna regroup his team send it to half field morneau and muldrake a bike pass up to sonny mazza steals it from a shots mazza up inside to ryan morneau and we're now shoot and he scores east london is heading to the western mass championship a goal with a minute 27 remaining and golden goal overtime by ryan morneau from outside of the 18 east long medal is headed to western mass what a goal by moore no unbelievable some of the islam meadow crowd has joined the soccer team in the celebration in an outstanding game two to one unbelievable a quick shot from ryan moore no outside of the 18 and he buries it bottom left corner east longmeadow to the western mass championship ryan moore no i mean was there an assist on that play well so the ball was was was a high chip to the far flag right and sunny mazzle was able to kind of get some touches over there and ball kind of popped back out to the center of the field around the 20 20 you know yard mark about 30 yards out from the net and mourinho had some room and he's got a solid left foot we've seen it all year long and he just ripped a low hard shot on net one of the most difficult shots for a goalie to stop especially in these wet conditions it can skid off that turn absolutely and he buries it bottom left corner what a goal sending east longmeadow to the western mass boys division one soccer championship a great run from longmeadow and east long metal is able to pull away in golden goal overtime what a game longmeadow season has come to an end but what a fight they put up tonight a fight battled back and forth for an entire almost 90 minutes 90 minutes of back and forth soccer and islam metal is able to get a beautiful goal sending them to the championship chad who are your stars of the game do you have any i mean more no for that goal has got to be number one i mean mourinho had an outstanding game tonight but honestly you get the golden goal i'm giving credit to the entire team i i was going to say the same thing i mean obviously you give more no that credit for that golden goal but absolutely you know that the entire team played great the defense was on point giroux was on point midfielders were on point you got the striker on point the wings on point just everybody it was a team win a team effort some fantastic ball movement from east longmeadow and we it was just a great game a great game between both sides doesn't get better east law met a long metal rivalry there's nothing better than a game like this that is the best game i've seen all season absolutely and and these two teams have had some phenomenal matchups throughout the season very close games tie game you saw metal one by one in their first matchup against them and then there's a tie game and then there's this game there where they get the golden goal ryan i mean there has not been a blowout game no team has completely outplayed the other it has been even all the way through and leading up to this game and boy was it an entertaining one just two competitive teams in a great rivalry that we saw here tonight i mean it wow in islam meadow celebrating and they will be preparing the western mass championship and the state tournament coming up tournament yup so a phenomenal season that eso meadow has had so far and there will be season a great season from longmeadow too yup credit to them as well so that'll do it for tonight here at east long meadow high school spartans win 2-1 in golden goal overtime with a minute 27 remaining thank you for joining us tonight on lcat i'm brady dolbeck alongside chad o'brien we'll see you next time at the western mass championship

elementary 16-4 south side over rock creek noah corny getting ready to inbound the ball parker jones will be the point guard for south side pass over to hoop and garner who then finds tries to find sean but picked up there by rock creek and brennaman and good defense there [Applause] by corny but the ball will stay after the jump ball to rock creek into brennaman [Applause] and we got a foul there [Applause] [Music] brandon gets it over to [Music] number 15 holden thompson who then gets it back to strickland strickland finds arnholt down low and another jump ball [Applause] parker jones able to force that and they will get possession parker jones number 14 up to hoop and garner give and go and it looks like a foul there eight minutes and 30 seconds hoop and garner will take it out looks for ishan over the top but good good defense from rock creek but they were called for a travel unfortunately because fell on the ground there so back to hoop and garner tries to find ishaan excuse me that's hoop and garner and he scores [Applause] brandon takes it oh [Applause] [Music] and noah corny gets it into jones gives it to hoop and garner finds you sean but good defense there from rock creek back to hoop and garner jones corny tui sean good ball movement oh but unable to convert there rock creek able to get it gets it up to brennaman and another jump ball [Applause] kester of substitutes here for rock creek [Music] corny looks to pass it in finds jones on just a little off the mark ball will go back to rock creek kester takes it out brandon will bring up the ball right now [Music] dribbles around looks for frogs oh and a nice pick off there by parker jones but he is fouled by kester and parker jones will go to the line for two [Applause] five and a half minutes to play in the third quarter parker jones with a pair of free throws after a good defensive play he was fouled and and just a little strong on the first shot brennaman brings the ball up to court [Music] finds kessler another lefty satterfield with the rebound pass it ahead to jones finds selby in the corner back to jones a little strong brandon with the rebound selby with the rebound gets it to jones [Applause] brandon comes out with it and is fouled by satterfield passes it into kester [Applause] looks to drive but picked up by three green shirts and ends up turning the ball over what would have been the first three-pointer of the game unfortunately turns into south side ball jones brings the ball up the court [Applause] looks the carson banter oh his teammate moved on him and the ball will go back to brock creek three minutes and 12 seconds left 18-4 south side over rock creek brandon with the ball brings it up with kester picked up by jones dribbles to the left all the way oh close and selby with the steal gets the ball to jones picked up by kester finds an open cell be in the corner oh and just a little strong on the way up but there's carson banter oh i'm just a little too hot there for south side kester passes into the lekker [Applause] lekker will bring it up the court picked up by parker jones dribbles to the right oh and just a little bit too fast goes off the foot and back to south side who takes a timeout one minute 55 seconds left quick timeout and the south side of cheerleaders gets the crowd involved [Applause] and south side satterfield will inbound the ball to parker jones finds banter good defense from kester wide open jones hits satterfield and it's an and one opportunity for satterfield the basket is good he will go to the line for the free throw as the clock continues to run and the free throw is good 21-4 strong pick there from arnholt gets the ball to banter oh kesser playing some good solid defense but called for the foul there [Applause] [Music] parker jones gets over to selby selby finds jones over in the corner who finds satterfield down low just a little strong and the ball will go to rock creek 37 seconds left kester will bring the ball of the court he will take the shot but it's just a little short satterfield with it tries to find jones but there's banter banter finds an open selby oh buddy is fouled clock needs to stop or maybe not [Applause] the quarter will be over [Applause] is a little bit different with the running clock now selby gets the free-throw line to himself 21-4 and sometimes you know it can be just as pressure packed with no one as there is with the full foul line let's see if celebi can hit number two and there it is one for two from the line but he gets a great round of applause from the fans and here comes the rock creek bulldog cheerleaders that will bring us into the fourth quarter [Music] [Applause] and a great job by the rock creek bulldogs cheerleaders shout out to all the student athletes here whether you're girls basketball boys basketball or the cheerleaders as well as our fans it's a great start to week one here at ebl we will be doing one game a week live stream but all teams will be playing throughout the week and so if you want to come and support your student athletes here at south side you'll have that opportunity each night and sometimes on the weekends as we get through ebl here and trying to have a somewhat semi-normal ebl experience and it's good to be back here out on the court i'm glad to bring you this live stream to support our elementary athletes there's hoffman in the corner hoffman's got a really nice shot just a little strong there there's brandon [Music] finds strickland there's back to branham in the lefty oh yeah i'm wondering if they're going to call that oh it would have been a three pointer but i believe there isn't three points in ebl so there's a three-pointer in my book [Applause] [Music] that'll be six to 22 now nice shot there from brandon [Applause] kester [Applause] in the corner it's got to be intimidating to be going up against ishaan there definitely had the size advantage but kester definitely playing with a lot of heart and able to pass it out to strickland oh good defense there from hoffman and he sean will pass it up to jones who will push it and the ball ended up being dribbled and out of bounds and i'll go back to rock creek castro passes it into brannaman eight minutes left brannaman dribbles and just off the mark there but he gets his own rebound able to find strickland keeps his oh nice shot there by number 12 patrick strickland the rock creek picks up pressure jones oh [Music] can't tell set number a little bit harder to read in between the 10 and 20 maybe it's just my eyesight maybe docked a visit to dr coors is in order for me but that is number let's see here there's number 10 dane hoopengarner and just a little off the mark up to brandon met by satterfield oh and that'll be a travel satterfield gets it into jones who finds hoffman up to jones on the right side oh and it's an and one for parker jones and one opportunity i should say nice take to the hole there by the young man bring us the 24 to eight with six minutes and 30 seconds left to go let's see if he can convert on the free throws satterfield already with the and one let's see if his teammate can join him it's
