Whatever the Spartans found for a recipe the last 4 minutes of the first quarter, hopefully they can find that again right now. Mary Devoe on the draw. Ball's up. Mac Whitmer comes away with it. Good job by Mac to scoop that one out of the air. Good job by Mary to flick it to her.

As now the Spartans will try yet another attempt to somebody on the draw. So, Becca McKecney will go up against Conway. Spartans had some success with Ava Pellegrino in there and she hasn't taken a draw in a little while, so Becca McKecney's attempt now.
Ball goes up, self draw quickly to Conway as quickly get the ball over the restraining line. They got shooting space and I think that'll be Henson will get her Henson will be on the 8-m attempt. Turns around, picks it up, fires in the back of the net for Goal by number 10, Goal number 15. Not going to lie, it was much more fun announcing the games last year when we were scoring 20 goals, but uh we We got to do with it. Good news is we only have to play Longmeadow one more time. Bad news is it's at Longmeadow and we always get killed when we play them at at their home field, so. Hey, the Spartans won the draw the first time in this quarter. Back Whitwer with the ball. She gets the ball up. And she pretty usual, she's getting double-teamed when she gets it. Back with the ball over to Keklik. Keklik back to Mack. Mack does a dodge in and out. They just swarm that middle. Somerville can't handle the pass. Longmeadow ends up with it. And time expires.

Uh I don't know what happened with that. Mehan had the ball and then Pellegrino, I don't know if she ran in back into the play. I'm not quite sure. I put my head down for a second. Seeley turns around, runs the ball in and Seeley's now up on a board. Goal by number 12, Jennifer Seeley. First goal for Seeley. First goal for Longmeadow in the second half. As the score is 16 to 2. And the clock can't run fast enough. McKechnie on the draw. Hopefully the Spartans can just uh I don't know what happened with that. Give credit to McKechnie for draw. Mac Whitworth gets smashed in the head by Anderson. I think it was Anderson. As Canina with the foul. Mac Whitworth gets the ball over the restraining line quickly. Over to McKechnie, back to Whitworth. Mac Whitworth goes by one. Gets a tomahawk chop by her head and she avoids that.
As that's Werder. Mac Whitworth gets herself an 8-m attempt. Mac goes in. Here we go. As Mac Whitworth gets her second goal of the game. >> number five, McKenna Whitworth. Spartans down 16 to 3. Good news is in this half, I think it's score is tied 1-1 if you just uh did it for this half. McKechnie on the draw versus Canina. McKechnie flicks it back. Mac Whitworth there to pick it up. As the Spartans look to set up their offense. Whitworth with the ball over to McKechnie. Looks like the Spartans are setting up their offense. Looking to play a little two-man. McKechnie flicks it over to Whitworth. Whitworth looking to turn the corner. Nothing there. Mehan with the ball. Gets the ball over to Whitworth. Over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino sees a little bit of daylight. Looks Good idea from the freshman. Sand there to pick it up.
Good job by Sand to be there and she gets the ball knocked away. Mehan with a nice knock by Mehan to knock the ball away. Another knock by Cremins. Mac Whitworth scoops the ball up. Mac Whitworth turns around and Mac Whitworth scores a goal. That was a good job by Mehan and Emma Cremins knocked the ball loose and Mac Whitworth there to pick it up and get herself a little breakaway and get her third goal of the game. That's Mac's first hat trick of the season. I'm sure we'll see plenty of those to come for the rest of the year. McKechnie up on the draw as Longmeadow brings back in Conway for their draw. Ball goes up. Do a redraw. >> [snorts] >> Good hands by the ref there when all nonchalant scoops that ball up. McKechnie and Conway back on the redraw. Mac Whitworth going Good job by Mac.
Every I'm pretty sure all four of those girls knew where that ball was going and Mac Whitworth is the one that comes away with it and makes mince work out of everybody. Goes through four girls, blows one by Vanderhoof. Goal by number five, McKenna Whitworth. To get her first fourth goal of the game. Cut the lead down to 11. Score 16 to 5 now. And I think if you Uh Spartans were down 15 to 2 at halftime and second half the Spartans are now up 3 to 1 against Longmeadow, so slowly being able to chip away at that lead, which is Hey, that's a good thing heading into it. New team, new new everything pretty much for the Spartans. And then Mac Whitworth once again. That's what I call cat-like balls right there. Mac quickly scoops it up. Longmeadow doesn't have anything for that. So, if we keep doing that, Mac can score another 10 goals.
We'll all set. We'll be right back in it. Cremins nice pass over to Sand. Sand turns around No, Mehan, sorry. I think that could have been a little bit of a call. I think Longmeadow got away with that one. Mehan looked like that check out a little up a little bit high. But Hansen with the ball goes in and out of the Spartans. Gets the ball up up. Looks like Longmeadow played the ball off the body. Looks like that was Rice. Couldn't mishandle it. Emma Cremins with the ball gets the ball over the restraining line. Sees a little bit of daylight. Only one girl left. Oh. Good job by Vanderhoof to come out and cut off that pass. They quickly quickly quickly get the ball up to Conway. Conway running up the field. Somebody's got to get in front of her and slow it down.
She gets the ball over to Seeley. Seeley to Greenman as a sophomore turns around and Goal by number 11, Riley Greenman. Gets a goal. That's Riley Greenman's first goal of the game. As Lancers increase their lead just a little bit more. 17 to 5 with 2:50 left in the third quarter. If anybody's watching this half, the ball has been going to the that uh third hash mark at the 45-yd line and goes right to Mac Whitworth and that's a good positive for the the game so far. See if somebody flicks it somewhere else and goes after it. And once again, it's where it is. With those four girls by a little bit longer, they're going to turn around. They're going to be closing that gap a little bit more. Uh this time Longmeadow gets away with it. Ball just a little bit high and Anderson comes up with the ball.
The ball gets knocked away. Mac Whitworth there. Yep. Yep, she's quick. She comes up with it. She cuts in. There's stick swinging everywhere. Mac gets the ball over the restraining line to set up the East Longmeadow offense. Over to Illingsworth. Back to Whitworth. Over to Pellegrino. Over to McKechnie, back to Pellegrino. Going to hit those cutter, nothing there. Over to McKechnie. McKechnie goes in and out. Gets gets hit. Yep, McKechnie will took a stick to the face. McKechnie will get herself an 8-m attempt. Vander >> Vanderhoof doing a good job on the 8-meter attempts tonight on the Spartans, keeping them in the game in that aspect. McKenney runs it in. McKenney gets knocked away. Longmeadow comes up with it. Spartans tough time on the 8-meters today. Hansen making quick work of the Spartans. She shoots it wide. Ball displaced nobody going after it. And Longmeadow goes into the final quarter with a 17-5 lead.
All right, we we're back for last quarter action. Lancers holding on to that lead barely winning 17-5. McKenney on the draw. They changed up against Werder. Werder gets that. Kicks the ball up. Canina behind the net. Oh, who's that? A 22. Slulick to Hansen over to Conway. Hastings back around to Greenman over to Slulick back to Hansen. Good work. A nice save by Julia Gray. Julia Gray comes out of the net. Spartans got to move open for her. Oh. Just over Mac Whitwer's head. And Lancers come back down. Little mishandle by Canina. Gets ball behind the net. To Greenman over to Slulick over to Anderson to Conway to Hansen. Longmeadow working the ball around. Conway Conway looking to take it in. Good job by Mac Whitwer forcing her to her right. Keep forcing her and Conway beats her by around the corner. Goes up over the head of Gray.
To um by number 14, Kerry Conway. Conway's third goal of the game. As Lancers are now up 18-5. Lancers have two girls with hat tricks. You got Conway scoring a hat trick and Hansen scoring a hat trick. Along with a bunch of other girls that scored. Ball goes up and Werder wins again. Over to Conway. Good grab by Anderson. Anderson behind the net throws it away. Spartans will get the ball. And Spartans turn the ball over. I believe they didn't run the ball in. Nice save. Good job by Julia Gray. She gets the ball up. Spartans can't handle it. Ball's loose. Good job by Hannah Eddy to knock the ball loose almost coming up with it. They don't. As Longmeadow gets possession once again. Conway with the ball. Turns the corner. Nice look. To Hastings. Hastings throws the ball over the net. But Slulick is there to back it up.
This is Slulick. Yeah. Hansen with the ball. Good work by Mac Whitwer and Hannah Eddy to stop her. Hannah Eddy up on Kerry Conway. Kerry Conway looking to go in. And that's good job by Mac Whitwer to stay on Conway's left shoulder. Forcing her to have to try to go to the right hand side. Ball's knocked loose. Good job by Julia Gray to come up with it. >> [crying] >> Gray with the ball. Spartans really got to look to get open. Good job by Gray to get the ball over to Mac Whitwer. Mac Whitwer going by all of Longmeadow. Just goalie left. And Mac Whitwer scores a goal. So, as usual, the Spartans are always good in transition. Julia Dettol started with a one-hop pass from Julia Gray all the way down to Mac Whitwer. So, Mac Whitwer scores her fifth goal. She continues to be a menace on rest of the Western Mass teams.
This is what I like to see. Put Eva Pellegrino on it. She did a good job in the second quarter winning those draws. I think she just out-wrestled the Longmeadow other draw player. And Pellegrino up against freshman versus senior right here. She gets the ball up. The ball bounces down. Conway comes up with it. Or Anderson comes up with it. Behind the net to Slulick. Slulick gets ball over to Hastings. Conway around to Hansen. Canina to Hansen. Hansen goes and goes up. Gets one by Gray as Henson scores her fourth goal of the game. And Longmeadow's up 19 to 6. Pellegrino on the draw again versus Werder. Ball's up. Anderson away with it again. Henson with the ball. Gets the ball over to Green. They're looking to play a little two-man. Green feathers it in to Henson and Henson scores again. Henson and Whitworth both tied for five goals each to lead each team.
And the Spartans are a young team back there on defense. They'll figure it all out. Longmeadow's definitely going to be the toughest team that they'll see all year. So, they'll go back, watch the video, see what they did wrong, and fix it next game. Ball's up. Anderson around with it once again. Loose ball. Pellegrino after it. Good job by Pellegrino to keep running through it. Avery Morgado comes up with it. Avery Morgado with the ball. Gets ball over to Whitworth. Whitworth with space. And they set up the Longmeadow offense. Avery Morgado with the ball. Goes cross field over to McKackney. McKackney with the ball. McKackney goes by one. McKackney gets taken down from behind. And McKackney will get another 8-meter attempt. Savannah McKackney on an 8-meter attempt. Down 20 to 6 with 2:21 to go left in the game. McKackney runs in. And she misses wide.
And nobody I don't even know what happened with that. McKackney with the ball getting it over behind the net to Whitworth. Whitworth with a little dodge, weave, turns around, takes a shot. And then McKackney's the only one there to back it up. I think when the Spartans go back and watch the film, they're going to have to realize they should be always having somebody back there at all times to back up those plays. Over to Pelletier. Let's go, Jane. Turn around, take a quick fire shot. And here's Jane. Pelletier kicks it back out. McKackney switches left hand, loses it. Longmeadow's there to pick it up. Conway fires it up. Over to Henson. Henson to Anderson. Who's that? It's Anderson's first goal of the game. And that should be it for the Spartans as looks like the Spartans will lose their home opener 20 to 6.
