So, is there like not really a recommendation at this time? Is is is there not like a >> we have the product that's best for this application that's been proven to be blah blah blah is that unknown still >> at at this point uh until we get obviously confirmation from the town uh that we're going to be able to move this way then obviously we' be making more of a decision. Yeah, I think they have to I think it's kind of you know happening simultaneously in a way like you know I think um and I'm just one person here um I can see the downside of natural grass obviously like I said the water and the use and um it's just and I and I certainly understand but about the time since those other fields were built there's got to be better stuff out there.
Oh, she missed. Just missed. The Paradise sideline here groans. That looked that looked good. May have been may have been a little high and away. I would have loved for us to see her get that call, but I think she's going to come back right now and pull one right by her. Domestic, a foul ball. Stay alive. She's fighting. Goldman is fighting here. Tough with two strikes. Fouls another one off. Stay with it Bella. Wyman, we have earned some hot chocolate after this one. It is cold. It is cold. My coffee ran out a long time ago. >> [laughter] >> Oh, another foul ball. Staying alive. Goldman Eliza Goldman is fighting hard doing her best BG's impression. She is staying alive right now. We're hoping that Bella can put one past her. Uh maybe looking like she has for seven others today. Bella Bella has to keep on just keep on what she's been doing.
The question is, well, what what better stuff, you know, can you show us the data? Can you show us how it's better? Can you show us um so that we and it doesn't have to be today? Like maybe that's obviously today's >> today's meeting is about um >> making sure all our board members know this project because some of them are new and to be able to you know get the you know what are the next steps out there um and uh so that we can hopefully see you back in just two weeks and uh not a long period of time but in that time then maybe be able to provide some of that real data because like Yeah. I just want to have a a better understanding of of of these kind of materials. >> Sure. >> You know, and and you know, and how these materials can be safe and good to use, good for kids to be on.
That's going to be a wild pitch. Gets past Kyra. Can't get there in time. So the run unfortunately scores. It is now only three to two. We saw our three run lead go away. Uh but we still have a three and two count here. Unfortunately that one got past the backstop. It got past Kyra to the backstop. And uh the runner from third came in. Hey Bella, let's get her still. Come on. Fouled off the strike. Eliza Goldman is fighting. We've got sticking here at this 3-2 count. Goldman has now fouled off three balls. >> Yeah, Bella has to has to stay composed. Don't get frustrated. Just just make your next pitch. Throwing strikes. Keep throwing strikes. Get out of this inning. Let's get the bats going. Oops, that's a high air fly to center. Yes, Yustaris. Yeah, Nico got it. Yustaris tracks it, makes a nice play for the out.
I know they're used all the time, but how how are the, you know, how are those factors addressed? So, >> absolutely be happy. that. So, is that can we get can we get deeper into that the the next time and understand what these products are? I if someone else I mean I know Angel I think has some experience with it at least. I don't know if anyone else does. I'm I I don't um not my not my wheelhouse. So, I'm just looking to learn and to be able to you know in that way make a good decision for the project. >> Yeah. I don't know. I personally don't know a ton about these, but I think coming to us and saying like, "Hey, this is the type of field we want to present, I think would be not just good for us on the playing board, but also good for the town, right?
>> That ball was drifting on her, but she made she got under it and she made the nice play. Yeah, Yustaris showed some nice range out there in center field. This will be interesting to see if the Clockers can can answer now, right? We We've been a little quiet. The bats have been quiet since all day really. The The runs were manufactured by smart base running in the first. And now here we are in the bottom of the entering the bottom of the fourth. And the Clockers are hanging on to a 3-2 lead after we got two runs off of two hits. No errors. Nobody left on base going into the bottom of the fourth. And and the Clockers bats like I said have been quiet. Only two hits on the day. You had two opposite field hits. One by Casadian in the first that was followed up by Lorelei Collette.
When you present, hey, this is the level that we're trying to go to." I mean, it may even be like as much of a thing where you say, "Hey, you know, we're planning for this field to last us 10 to 15 years, and then this is our plan to recycle it afterwards, or or with the low amount of use we're going to do, it should last 20 years." I don't know. I I really don't know these things. I'm just trying to throw these out as some of the the thoughts that do pop up. >> Those were rock solid guesses then because 10 years is the average lifespan of a turf field. >> Well, okay. I did Google, but I I didn't like I don't like I'm just trusting what you know it's showing me on the screen and I'm not an expert. But, you know, I also don't know how much they're planning on using it.
Since then the Clockers have not uh had any base runners from from the batted ball. Yeah. So let's see if Quinn Herder can get us going. Herder then Cashin then the top to Yustaris. Uh really need to see if the bats can start catching up to Sophia Beckett here in the bottom of the fourth. Okay Wyman, Quinn Herder is stepping to the plate here the shortstop uh who struck out looking in her first at bat is facing Beckett to start the fourth. Herder shows bunt, pops it up foul. Behind the count now 0 and 1. Sun is starting to come down a little bit too Mike. So we have uh What do you say about 40 minutes? 35 40 minutes? Yeah, well I you got to get through uh I believe five innings, right? >> Yeah, five. So I think they should be able to get through that without issue.
Like if they're going to open up to more than just you know, two leagues or something of that may get a lot more use. But I know just some things like that would really I think super be good. That's great English. But uh you know just really helpful in bringing it to the not just for us but also for the town um and the feedback that comes back from the town about what you know these type of things that go in. >> Absolutely. I mean because I I think for me and I did go through the GCG report just trying to look through my highlights here. I think the um there was there was a little bit of questions about the the height of the lights that may or may not be put in. Right. Um but I didn't really have a problem with that.
Uh as Herder swings at the second pitch and she goes down 0 and 2 here to Beckett who has definitely got some good velocity. Uh the the problems that she's seen have really been about control. She go ahead Quinn. Quinn strikes out, but she has a dropped third strike. Unfortunately I think the hesitation that she had cost her the game. I think her first speed would have beat it. But she goes down with the dropped third strike K two to three in the book. This brings up Harley Cashin who grounded out to third her first time up. Hacks at the first one and fouls it back down 0 and 1. And Nico's on deck, so back to the top of the lineup after after Harley. Again, really be nice if Harley can get on. See if we can get something going with the top of the lineup.
Um so I think to me the um the big question um was just about understanding about the turf field you know and and so I think um for me again I'm just kind of going through my highlights here um I think for me that's like the piece I just I just want to understand a lot more about before making this decision. I think everything else like I personally I think that it would be a great asset for Ashlin to have these fields and this area. Um um I I think you know you've thought about all the surrounding areas. You obviously have been we've been working on it for or you you've been working on it for I don't know the better part of a year I guess. Right. >> My life. Right. Right. So, um, and gone through these iterations. Obviously, we want to see what conservation, you know, says next week.
>> of those runs back. Absolutely. Especially because the top of the order is coming up to start Harley got hit. A little bit of a wild pitch. We'll take it. We'll take it. >> We'll take that. Again, some control problems for for Beckett as Cashin takes one off the foot. But we got one on now with one out. And Nico Yustaris looking for her first hit of the day. She comes in 0 for 2. Put it in play. >> to the shortstop. Yustaris has wheels. She beats it out. As like I said, if Nico puts the ball on the ground, chances are she's reaching base and she uses her fast feet to get an infield hit. Yustaris now one for three on the day. Moves Harley over to second. We've got a little something brewing here in the bottom of the fourth with Ava Vendetti up after Yustaris gets the infield single.
Our our decisions within and this kind of thing are always contingent upon theirs and their expertise. But that's one piece that um that I just feel like I want more information on that to to be able to know that we looked at closely and we feel comfortable with the decision with the decision made. So, if we can look at that for next time. Plus, if anyone else wants to add anything in that you have other questions, please put them out here now so we have a short list that these guys um maybe are digging into for our next meeting and can focus on. Does anyone have any anything other questions that things that they want more information on or >> Well, I concur with you. You know, these fields is a wide variation of what can be installed. So, I think a little bit more information would be good with how we're draining it, how we're what we're filling it with, what materials we're using with, um, all of that.
Go Ava. I think the shortstop also had her saw Harley running down second. Vendetti with a good cut on it. Fouls it over to the right side. Vendetti 0 for 2 on the day having grounded out to second base and an unassisted play by the first baseman. Down 0 and 1 here. Let's see if Ava can gap one. Puts up a solid hit. She gets the runners over. So Vendetti moves the runners over on the ground ball to second base. Runners in scoring position now for Bella Domestic. Uh Vendetti grounds out to second. Two outs. Domestic with runners now on second and third looking to help herself. Seeing if she can add to this one run lead in the bottom of the fourth. So here we are second and third, one out. This this thing will go around, but we've got to get some runs in.
Okay, great. Yeah. So, does does that it's probably not unexpected, I assume, from from you know, >> right? So if that's something we can do um I mean we should have JZmine are you still there somewhere in cyber in cyerspace? >> I am here in cyerspace. >> So um I assume our next agenda we should have room to look at this again on April 9th. Right. >> Yes. So, um if that works for you, if that gives you two weeks to, um to kind of put put together some materials for us and um so we can understand that um understand the options and a lot better. Um that would I think that's the that's in my sense it's really the only question hanging out there for me personally. I can't say for the board. So, >> okay. I will say that we will uh definitely by the April 9th uh you know come up with with the um um options if not um a recommendation for the type of synthetic turf field that that uh we'll be we'd like to use that type of thing.
>> No, we got two down Wyman. Two down. Yep, two down. Oh, Herder. Yep. Unfortunately Quinn struck out to lead off and then we get Ava's grounded out to second. Bella gets ahead of the count here 1 and 0. Okay. Would be a good time for another one of those wild pitches here to see if we can manufacture one. And a long fly ball to the right fielder who was able to make the nice catch. And that's going to end the inning for the Clockers. Two more runners left stranded. Domestic puts her bat on it. Good good nice pitch, but yeah. Yeah, flies out to the right fielder uh to end the inning. Zero runs, one hit, no errors, and two more left on. That's six stranded so far by the Clockers today. After four here in Ashland at a very cold Hunt Field, it is three to two, Clockers over the Wayland High School Warriors.
>> Okay, great. That would be that would be very helpful information. So a needed needed information I guess I should say. >> So all right then. Is there any is there any other questions from the board or is there any questions that the applicant has for us before we continue this to April 9th? No. Okay, great. Then um to keep things easy here on Zoom, I will make a motion that we continue 240 to 260 Pleasant Street site plan review to the meeting on April 9th. Is there a second? >> Second that. >> And a roll call vote. >> Deep bank. >> I know. I >> And Trisha Kendall I. I think it's just the four of us this time. So um we will continue that till April 9th. >> Terrific. >> And thank you. Thank you for being here. Thanks for the presentation and the update so that everyone can get on the same page.
And now we have the top of the lineup up for Wayland, correct? We sure do. Top of the lineup is here, uh Kyra Hines, who is over two on the day. Uh she struck out looking her first time up and absolutely ripped a line drive to Ruby Casadean in the third who made a nice play. Uh Carmela what's hit a double in the She was the one who hit that double to deep center uh in the in the third and back at grounded out to the pitcher uh in that same third inning. So, we've got a top of the order here who has put their bat on the ball for the best Domestico who is going into the top of the fifth here holding on to a three to two lead. Sun is going down, so Sun is going down. It is still cold. The wind is still howling, but Bella is still dealing.
U was very helpful. >> Thank you folks. great uh meeting the new board members and seeing everybody else again. Thanks a lot. Have a good night >> and I appreciate your time. >> Thank you. Byebye. >> Bye. All right. So, next on our agenda is 30 Memorial Drive YMCA. And I see I think a number of people here from the YMCA. Unless there is any comments you think we should have. Um we do have a um draft of the um decision that went out to the board and our plan was to put that up and to um go through it. um and see if we can see if we can plug away and get through this thing um tonight. So, did is there anyone Carrie? Was there anything that needs to be put out there from from the Y any information or state? >> We're all set.
So, here she goes and she throws a first pitch change for a ball to Kyra Hines, the shortstop of the Wayland High Warriors. Domestico toes and throws, rolls one in. It's going to be two and oh. All right, Bella. Let's go shake it off. >> those. I I I think that, you know, it's tough again getting your hands It must be freezing. Her hands look bright red. Yeah. Hard to get a grip. Ooh. That's a little low. >> Just a little low, falling behind the count here, three and oh. All right, Bella. Let's go shake it off. Reset, kid. Got to fight back here, three and oh to the lead-off hitter. Certainly not the kid that you want on base, especially by a freebie. Batter is most likely taking. And she does. She takes four in a row. Domestico gets the lead-off batter on here uh in the top of the fifth for Wayland, bringing up Olivia Carmela what's who did smash a double to center field in the third.
