So, if we could get a better definition of that in the in the resolution, and then regarding item two, um you know, we transferred our current financial system in 2021, and we have comprehensive project level financial data readily available for CIP projects for fiscal years '21 to '25, and that's 90% about of all our projects. Um so, we we believe that you know, we have the information and data available um and you know, so, we rest in our comments. Thank you. Thank you. Um members, I did send you out finally a list, a comprehensive list that was finally submitted to us um on all of the CIP, so I hope you got that um and appreciate that having that list, and hopefully that you guys will be updating that on a regular basis, yearly basis for us, and maybe filling in on areas that perhaps um we didn't know we needed.
It's awesome. >> Thank you. >> Yes. Sorry, sometimes I wish I had telepathy. Um, well, thank you so much. I want to acknowledge the time. Um, I also want to acknowledge everybody, especially for the KD. Uh, we had family members watching from home. Our live stream is not working tonight, but the recording will be up. So, please share and brag all about your kids. You'll see yourselves on YouTube. And with that, um, I do want to take an executive decision of with our next presentation. Um, I just let Dr. Brener know, please complete your presentation as planned. Um, we will have to start our regular board meeting a little late, but we're not live tonight, so I think it's okay. All right. Thank you so much, Dr. Ed. And thanks again everybody who participated tonight. You did great. >> Thank you. participant of it. But I think we're finally It's the district, right?
Ray has done it several years in a row, most of his tenure. Um, and so either the train can come down and run them over and he can do it again or if someone else would like to experience the opportunity, um, they could they could raise their hand. I I think it's what, a morning session, Mr. Ray, it's not it's >> it's about a half day. >> Yeah, about a half day. >> It's getting shorter, >> right? And it would I think they normally host that up at uh um up off of Sheay and uh I'm drawing a blank on on which one it is, but it's basically up in >> But you can also attend online. >> Oh, can you? Okay. So, there's new online. So, just a little bit of time in the morning. Um, but it gives you an idea of of what's going on.
>> Gotcha. >> Uh if there's no questions, I'll make a motion to approve. >> Second, Lisa, I have a motion to second. >> Shante Rothschild. I >> Ben Owens. >> Hi >> Patty Coutrey. >> I >> discussion and possible approval of the award the construction manager at risk contract for the feral road canal tiling project. >> So this is uh um in relation to the um the procurement that we did for se for construction manager at risk and we are seeking approval for DBA construction that'll actually do the work for that tiling. that we've ever represented from DBA here. Jordan, thank you for coming.
but it wasn't too far. All right, sends her up and using plenty of up airs, but he was on the left, so that really didn't hit her. Using another fishing rod. Oh, hits Claude right to the right into the screen again. Woo! James had a pretty large percentage. He's going around the stage and zoomed out the camera so that the cloud wouldn't notice the landmine. That is absolutely amazing. >> That is next level. Jaden is taking it to the next level. And if you are not coming with him, you are getting steamrolled, my friend. My gosh. He can also use the fishing rod to get right back onto the stage. Isabelle's recovery is also really good cuz not only does he have the amazing fishing rod, but those balloons, those balloons are really good. So, shielding that move and punishing it with a forward air and a neutral air, but Cloud kind of just got knocked over.
>> Any discussion? >> Okay, we'll start with the vote. John >> I >> Dustin >> I >> Mike >> I >> Jody >> I >> myself I'm an I passed 26-110 approval of intercom server upgrade purchase Dr. Brown. >> I recommend the board approve the intercom server upgrade purchase from audio enhancement and the total amount of $31,59012. Our audio enhancement intercom servers are reaching the end of their life. We need to purchase new servers to keep receiving security and product updates. We also need to purchase a new intercom kiosk for Anderson in the high school. >> Can I get a motion? I'll make a motion to approve 26110 approval of the intercom server. >> Can I get a second? >> I'll second.
Uh the number of seats we've opened. Um remember next year um you know KEF is ac has accepted um 17 students. 16 of them are currently in district, one is out. Is that correct, Aaron? >> One of those >> but but is not in the our public school system right now, right? Um so, so they'll be picking up 17 students. So, just remember that partly because the current eighth grade has about 235 kids in it and so reduce those 17. So, that really is what guides some of the the conversation with regard to school choice at the next level. So, what I'm sharing with you here is a is a um and I've shared this in the past, the anticipated enrollment, all of these um numbers have been moved down one. So, where you see the grade one, that is our current kindergarten enrollment, right?
So, to date, we've received 13 applications. 13 are certified. Um, we basically are going to interview seven people and Roland just actually mentioned somebody else that might be interested, so maybe eight. Um, and we screen them for certification, if they had leadership experience anywhere, right? Building base, both uh, district and building base. And then we looked for, you know, did somebody use PBIS? You know, all the things we're working on. if somebody had experience, we put them in the list. Um, I did go through them with my school counsel and the ones that were my may, they agreed that they weren't of the caliber of the ones that we're going to be interviewing. So, I put out the the call if we have a survey out there for qualities in the next principal and then search committee. Um, I've got five staff members. Uh, three parents I'm seeking and I just got from sending it home today, I just got at least one email.

Um, and then we're goal is to select the finalists to be able to be sent uh to the superintendent on Friday the 17th before vacation.
So thank you. Um BHS bathroom updates. Uh we're still awaiting the outcome of the um collaborative grant. Um Right? We're still awaiting the outcome? Yeah. And uh cuz we haven't heard. And so um No use yet. Um so that'll be a $5,000 for um vape education, right? And so we would apply that accordingly, and I know there's some great things already going on moving forward. So that's fantastic. Um Additionally, we have put an RFP out to bid uh and are awaiting responses um which are due April 10th uh at 11:00 a.m. for vape detector devices. So we put the RFP out for the devices. In the meantime, Casey is also looking at what grants are available. So hopefully even offset uh some of that. So that would be wonderful. Uh if you have any information, cuz I know some of you have been involved in this too, please forward it over to Casey, and we can go from there.
Yeah. Yes, that's the AB 218, and that's we're sharing the cost of all the claims in the state. They split it up between everybody who's a member of this pool. We were a member back from 1988 up until 2007. So, even though we're no longer part of this school's excess liability fund, in the agreement that we signed at that time it said that we would share the future of liability. But the cost for this year was 88,000, and we don't receive any funding to offset that. So, actually SELF worked with me and went back and forth with them over a long time to break out the payments and spread them all the way till next December till the next fiscal year um just to try to make it more manageable to pay 88,000 um that we didn't get any extra funding. Got it. So, you'll see that regularly because we have a monthly payment, and then after June 30th our payment will be doubled because I made the payments lower for this year because of the budget constraints, and then they said that I couldn't spread it out any further, so I had to make the payments a little bit more for for July through December.
Uh with that, I will call the next testifier, Office of the Auditor. Mr. Kondo, I don't see him here. He does have his comments. Um members, Johnny May Perry, individual in support, anyone else here wishing to testify on this measure?
>> So, everyone's going So a little historical context we start having conversations to review what we're offering because we do offer robust programs throughout the prek through 12. Um we were starting to notice that our enrollments were decreasing in some of our programs. Um given what we were able to fill capacity wise and what we had identified as a need academically. Um there were some inequitable costs between our programs. We were also seeing some increased competition um being offered near us and that our students were taking advantage of that. Um we also as we started talking um we have a lot of options within our district and not even our own staff were aware of what we had. So there were inconsistency there. Um we identified some scheduling and flexibility. Some of our costs were prohibitive. Um there was some concern raised about engagement and whether or not the programming we were offering while robust was meeting our students, our community needs.
Their biggest issue, just so you know, is they just always have a hard time trying to get a quorum because you're talking about um 190 school districts or something like that. So, if you are uh looking to do it, we need you to please attend. Otherwise, they have a hard time with some of the stuff because they they can't get the quorum that they need uh within their own bylaws. >> Okay. Does anybody have a desire or am I going to nominate Mr. Ray? Okay, I'll make a motion to appoint Mr. Ray to represent the Jops Unified District as the design the district delegate to the ASBA delegate assembly to be held on September 12th, 2026. >> I second. >> Oh, all in favor? >> I >> Are you voting, Mr. Ray? Are you abstaining? Okay. >> Motion carries five to zero. Okay, that was good.
>> Members, any questions? >> Yeah. So, the question that I've gotten here, um, I'm assuming that we have a GMP or we will >> Yeah, this will lead to a GMP. Um, we don't have that yet. That the design has been done, but there'll be some there'll be a GMP process. >> Yep, >> that is correct. >> Gotcha. Okay. Uh, if there's no other questions, I'll make a motion to approve. Second, >> Lisa, I have a motion and a second. >> Shante Rothschild, >> I. >> Ben Owens, >> hi. >> Patty Coutrey, >> I. >> And discussion and possible approval of engineering services for the Feral Road Canal tiling project. >> So, Lloyd Engineering has been really working on this since we started Desert Sunrise and has completed the design a long time ago and submitted it to the USBR uh for approval. So, we're we want to keep them on the project.
Um, and he kind of laid there for a little bit. Oh, he shielded the first blow, but but actually missed it on the initial recoil. He ran in too fast. Oh, does a neutral air and Cloud's recovery doesn't really go horizontal. What a match. >> Jaden won. Oh my god. >> Still just one stock down >> as we head into the third >> and maybe some would say most crucial match. >> Oh boy. This is going to be pretty crazy. >> Match set. >> Uh yeah. >> Yeah. This this particular game. Yep. >> All right. All right. So So uh I would say Jaden is probably in a pretty good position as well this round. I'm I'm pretty sure he's feeling really well. really well about himself because it's six to 11 >> and we we know that we'd rather have 11. >> We would rather have 11 more than six because the higher numbers are better for us because that means more opportunities to take more stocks.
>> Any discussion? >> Okay, we'll start with the vote. John >> I. >> Destin >> I. >> Mike >> I. >> Jody >> I. >> And I am an I. So passed. 26-11 approval memorandum of understanding between MCS and Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County. Dr. Brown. >> I recommend the board approve the memorandum of understanding between MCS and the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County to provide extended summer learning opportunities for students. The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County received a grant that will provide students with five weeks of instruction and summer care free of charge. >> Can I get a motion? >> I make a motion we approve agenda item 2611. >> Can I get a second? >> I'll second.
So, 200 students. Um grade two is our current first grade students. Our projection for K then is the 190 based on numbers uh that we currently have. Uh Pete's online but 140 plus right now have signed up uh registered for kindergarten. Pete, is that about right? He's at his college lacrosse game. I know he's online. >> Yes. Yes, that is accurate, Jim. >> Okay. Thanks, Pete. >> Just checking. >> Yeah, just making sure you're there actually. you know, um, >> took me a little while to get to the microphone button, >> you bet. Um, so, so what we did was in the second column where it says enrolled students through school choice in 2526, the parentheses are the number of um, allocated seats that you approved last year. So, we approved 10 spots in last year's kindergarten class, right? Eight were filled. We approved five for this year's first grade.
Um, and then we're goal is to select the finalists to be able to be sent uh to the superintendent on Friday the 17th before vacation. So that's all I have. I will want to just thank you though when I talk about joy. Uh this has been a real joy for me to be here. Uh coming back home I started here in my career many years ago. So coming back home and enjoying you know when I was a superintendent it's not a job that brought joy. It's a job important job and I loved it and I did it for 20 years but this is a job that brings me joy every day. So thank you for the opportunity to to be part of the Newton school community and the Greenville public schools. >> Here you go Jill. >> Great. Thanks so much. Um if you give me just a second I'll share my screen again.
