But uh as we get further into the permitting process that you've seen some uh remnant of prior to this, that will be incorporated into the uh site. because of uh again the uh transfer of the property into a larger entity at some point in time we prepared this ANR plan with a updated survey for both the uh the transactions and also for the zoning protection. >> Great. So this one if if you can go back to the other the other one. >> This one is just that little corner down there. Okay. >> Yes. Um and um so Jasmine obviously both these properties fit withever whatever regulations we have about properties. It's different than a lot. There's no rule of 22 on putting properties together or anything like that. Right. >> They're not changing. Not >> sorry. They're not proposing to change anything with these plans.

>> Good evening everyone. Thank you so much for being here. I would like to take this time to have a moment of silence for our AHSD community. Outside of any political standing we may have, it's really important to recognize that our communities are going through a hard time and with the tensions in the Middle East, even gas prices are rising every single day. Like why does it take me $60 to pay for a gas a tank? That was crazy. But I would like to um ask you guys to reflect right now and to think of the fifth se compassion so that we can have a little patience and have common courtesy for the people around us. Thank you. Please take a moment of silence. Thank you. >> Thank you, Leah. We will now have our uh report out of close session. Uh clerk Amry Rand Tjo.
There is I mean there's more in proficient. It's not that eighth grade I just get you. And so if we revisit our goals, um we also had the discussion when we were trying to to create goals for next year. Um that we're nowhere near our 45% goal for all of third through 8th grade. Um so right now in our benchmark, we're at 12.3 overall if you average all of the students um third through 8th grade. The special education students, we were aiming for 18%. Right now, they're at 1.7. They did grow a little. They were at 1% last time, but it's not a lot of growth. Um, and then our homeless students grew from 14% to 21.7%. Um, overall, and their goal is 33%. So, lots of growth with those kiddos. Okay, then we move to math. Once again, we visit the math goals. So, we have second grade math.
As you can see in the state average in 2025 has been 60% while in Crawford'sville it has been around 80%. Our current attendance our current model attendance rate for this current year is 83.1%. which was which is slight slightly above last year's percent as you saw in the last slide. In our presentation, we had firsthand accounts of students as a way to display different viewpoints on discipline in classrooms. We also broke down the incentives offered by things such as the shield trip as well as Athenian central which can be seen as motivation for students to display the core values. Past rates were compared and contrasted against this year's average which led to decreasing number of major incidents as well as an increase of attendance. >> Thank you for your time.
Like any thriving ecosystem, it takes every role, every strength, and every person working together. Because of you, our schools don't just function, they grow. So, each of you have a different bird in the ecosystem. So, we want you to enjoy those and we hope you set them out and think of us, right Seth? And we have a lot of fun. If you come if you ever need a pick-me-up, I want you to come drive to Jennings County High School at 2:00 and we'll generally be outside because we're getting ready for buses and that sort of thing and we have binoculars and cameras and we are birders. So, uh so please come join us one day. You won't know what you're missing out on, but we will leave these in a box and we'll just kind of set them over here and you guys please get the back at the end.
No. Oh, all right. I'll I'll I'll just You've seen the bathrooms. Uh yeah. They have a great stage. They have a great facility, but don't use the facility. Okay. All right, then So, what are you doing tonight? You're telling the story about you how you met your wife, correct? Be serious for once. Oh, be serious. Yeah. Yeah, it's you know, you know, everybody's like so negative, you know? It's like love stinks and and screw relationships, you know? Bad dates, all this. Hey, you know? I'm serious. Some of us have good relationships. It happens, you know? I got lucky. I don't know. I don't know what she sees in me. I mean, I I I I could tell she cuz you're a good man, you're a funny guy, and you're willing to come out here and tell some of those stories tonight. So, I'm enjoying I'm looking forward to both your stories tonight, sir.
So, and nothing on the plans that doesn't make it a valid I'm always thinking in terms of lots, which I know these aren't, but usually we're looking at ANRS in terms of a lot, but there So, there's nothing on these plans that it makes them um um the equivalent of what would be non-conforming if they're >> Exactly. >> It's all It's all good. >> Right. >> Okay.

This item was pulled prior to the adoption of the agenda. 4.3. No reportable action taken regarding negotiations. 4.4. No reportable action taken regarding personnel. 4.5. So, I'm going to ask the board to join me in the center. Thank you. Tonight we are recognizing our Anaheim Union High School District Teachers of the Year. Yes. Round of applause. Each school year select each school site selected a teacher of the year and submitted his or her him and her for for consideration for the AUHC teachers of the year awards.
Second grade also did nice job in both ELA and math this time. So you can see there back numbers. Nice drop there too. Nice for denim and back. Mhm. A lot of looks good. Declines in the red and inclines in the proficient and partially. We have third grade now. And they did grow. They grew in proficient and they dropped a good 6% in minimally. So there was growth. And Jen, if I um could remind you all that um anything in the red is from 0 to 60%. Yeah. Okay. So it's just a reminder that that's 0 to 60%. So within that red, we may have had some kids, we may have had some kids who grew from 10% to 40%. Or 10 to 50 or whatever. They're still in the red, but maybe made some significant growth. And this type of graph, as we learned a couple months ago, doesn't show us that.
Do you have any questions? >> Well, thank you for the presentation. Susan, go ahead. Anyone else? All right. Well, you mentioned that stickers are currency, so I've got some stickers here to pass out to you. I I'll let Mrs. cause determine what the value of these are. But >> I think as their principal, the thing that I'm most proud of is that they've had a lot of voice in what the students want to see as rewards. And this sort of started with our leadership team a couple years ago when they said, you know, in the real world, people get paid and get bonuses for going to work and doing their job and doing the right things. So, how can we do that in our school? And so, that's just where it started. It just keeps evolving, keeps getting better. I'm very proud of our attendance rate.
So, all right. Do you have anything to say? Don't look at me. I'm asking you, buddy. You just [clears throat] want to tell them thank you. Yes. Yes. [laughter] He's telling me yes, he wants to tell you thank you. And there are also pamphlets outside if you would like to take one. Thanks. Okay, thank you. >> Thank you so much. Seth. And then Mr. Roller, I believe Uh-huh. we will roll in in just a minute to winter sports recognition. Mr. Harper >> Good pun by rolling right into it. First off, I would like for both of you to be to be up front and center. Yeah. They're scared to come in. Right here in the middle. Do you want us us to get up so that they can face the camera? Yeah. Yeah. It's fine. Everyone's facing you in here. Uh senior stuff. Can't get away from it right now.
Thank you very much. >> I'm looking forward to watching all of you. Yes. Excellent. Dan Murphy, come on over here for a quick second. I want to just ask you The first story you're telling tonight, that's a real story. Is that correct? >> It's It's It's pretty heavily exaggerated, but it is kind of inspired by real things that I've gone through. Yeah. I need you right back. That's my note. How does it feel performing one that was written by somebody else versus doing your own story? Uh, I don't know. I mean it's fun to do either, but yeah, I mean, you know, I I'm you know, I like writing my own material, so it was a good opportunity to do that here. So. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing you on stage a couple of times tonight. Once in a little Santa outfit, too.
Um, does anyone have any questions on this? >> I'm sorry. Is this one here? Is the gas station? >> Yeah. >> The big one is the gas station. >> Station is the lot that's between the road and our property in the front. Yes. >> That's the gas station. >> And then what's behind it? >> There is a house behind it. Oh, really? Okay. >> I think that's one of your town >> inspector. >> Oh, okay. I've been to that gas station 100 times. I didn't know there was anything behind it. >> Inspector in Ashland, but he's a wire inspector in several of the towns. Might not be >> okay. >> They can't hear you when you talk from there. Just to give you a heads up. So, >> thank you. >> He's a wiring inspector, but it may not be for this town. I thought it was, but Thank you.
Congratulations, Grace. At the end we'll do a picture with uh board of ed chair Mr. Bony. >> The second BCS cave recipient is Penelopey or Patelli. Penelopey has been selected by the eighth grade team as a deserving recipient of this year's cave award. A bright, hard-working, and responsible student, Penelopey approaches every challenge with a willingness to give her best effort. What truly sets her apart is her kindness. She is consistently inclusive and supportive, making her a wonderful collaborator both in and out of the classroom. Penelopey leads by example, demonstrating a strong ability to work with others. In addition to being a consistent, high honor role student, she is a dedicated member of multiple sports teams and captain of the cross country team, an active participant in student council and a longtime girl scout. Through all these activities, she exemplifies both teamwork and service to others.
A committee then had the very difficult challenge of reviewing the nomination letters for each of these outstand outstanding teachers and selecting three district teachers of the year who exemplify the best of the best. These three teachers will now be considered for the Orange County Teachers of the Year recognition program. Five county teachers of the year will be honored at an award ceremony later this November. I would like to bring up our first teacher of the year, Miss Katherine Saruso FROM HOPE SCHOOL. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HER, she teaches adapted physical education and has been with the school district district for nine years. Her special contributions include her exemplifying the highest ideals of the teaching profession through her tireless commitment to student success, innovative practices, peer leadership, and profound community impacts. Mrs. Caruso's approach enhances skill development, and physical literacy. She also strengthens students sense of identity and belonging, resulting in greater engagement and an appreciation for healthy living.
So, um, and then to have kids actually move out of the red into either yellow or green, uh, is really significant. Yeah. Okay. Fourth grade again. Desert valleys. Desert valley. Oh, we're having the sunrise. And then if we look at the overall not much not much change there in fourth grade. No, that's needs to be worked on. Fifth grade is hard to look at. Yeah, those kids are struggling in math. The fifth grade and I believe sixth grade is now fifth grade is not doing good on either. Co. No. Isn't that No. Right. No, they wouldn't have been five years ago in first grade. No. Kindergarten. No. Well, no. They might have. They would have been in kindergarten. Yeah. Yeah. they would have been in kindergarten. But for math skills, it's it also tends to be more when they go like in third grade, you go from learning to read to reading to learn.
Kids want to be at CMS. It's a fun place to be. They're learning. Our test scores are showing those growth, you know, that growth as well. But their their voice makes a huge difference. It's not just adults saying the way it should be. So, thank you very much. >> I absolutely think that our PBIS system at the middle school is an exemplar across the state. I mean, you just heard from middle school kids, which most would not consider be the place where you could improve attendance and behavior. So, great job students and staff >> and I couldn't agree more with that. So, thanks again for that presentation. It's good to know what uh what you're doing in class and around school at this time. time. I know you guys are all busy with other things and you're all welcome to leave at this time. Um, >> oh, you have two more.
