We said for the next >> Great, >> you know, so that we don't we don't make a group until we have a reason to do so. >> Perfect. That's exciting. >> Um >> awesome. >> And besides that, that'll be the text that we'll be ready for on the 30th, which will be the public hearing. >> Awesome. So >> good to work. >> The only thing we didn't do without you is the things that you would know more about which is um the compreh anything with comprehensive plan. >> Uh so the only challenge is that there was supposed to be a combined planning board select board meeting as you all know that fell on Passover. uh the select board did not meet I believe and so um from what I understand from Yolanda the posting that we had drafted for applicants for the implementation committee was made at least in Michael's newsletter.
>> So move. >> Second. >> So first and second. Any comments or questions? Thank you for answering my questions. I I like that we're saving money. >> We love to save money. Yes. So we have um comprehensive report on that. So um our risk manager Lyanna Williams will come up to the podium to address that. >> Thank you. >> Good evening. So, collectively in in discussion with Jeff Russell, the athletic director, we and because the monitor has the ability to have a three- mile radius to capture accurate data in an in an effort to save some money, the decision was made to stick them at the comprehensive high schools.
I was going to follow up with Michael and see if it made its way into the town website as well. Um Yoland is on vacation a good chunk of this month. May is the election month and so her suggestion was that we reconvene in June to make this happen. Um I think that that's our reality. We can't kind of go back in time and make Passover go away. Um so it is what it is relative to kind of where we are. You know, that's the update. Um, I definitely think it's really important that we create that implementation committee as early in June as possible because once you hit late June, you're in the summer season when no one wants to do anything. Sorry, many people don't like doing things. Um, because it tends to be a busy time for people to travel and families etc.
The good thing about it is though is that the ads, the site admin at the junior high schools will also have immediate access, real data, real live data that they can look at to also make decisions for their school sites based off of their feeder school, their feeder high school. It was really a cost savings measure. >> Okay. So, will they be in in like if a per if they don't have that device, will who will contact who and so forth? >> So, it's not a device. The device will sit on top of the roof >> of the high school. >> It's a software system or a platform that we have certain number of user licenses. Got >> the site admin 80s athletic trainers will have that site access >> and they can log into the account and take a look at the data. The dashboard will also be available on the school site's website so that parents can take a look and see what the weather conditions are like as well.
And so my only kind of pitch is that we really work hard to make that happen and set up the committee early June to mid June so that they can start to get to know each other in the summer and maybe get going in the fall because if we wait I think the more we wait the less likely this is to get going. Um so my hope is that we can make it happen in June. Um, >> yeah, I think that's the uh um the kind of unfortunate timing of a lot of things happening at once with with town meeting and the override and so much energy being put toward that and then um the this committee and school break and vacation and the election. So where I don't I don't like either that we're kind of waiting several months longer than we had hoped to.
Any other questions? >> That answers my question. >> Okay. All in favor, please vote. I >> I 50. >> 11.8. School sponsors, student organizations. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any comments or questions? Seeing none, all in favor I. I. It's >> 5. No. I Yeah. 6. Gosh. >> Second. >> I I No, we don't have to motion. Sorry. I wanted to ask a question on this question. Yes. Uh do we have to motion to discuss it? >> Yeah. Okay. So I motion second. >> No, you don't need that. Just >> um >> what are your comments or questions? >> This is to be set for uh years ahead. Um this this is another thing. How are we do we have any idea how we're going to manage this?
But on the other hand, it seems like that that's kind of where we are. Um and that hopefully then with the housing production plan in place and the comprehensive plan in place, we have all the documents we need to to jump start, you know, if not during the summer, that might be a more relaxed conversation by the chosen group. Um, but you know, at least by fall that they're really that they're really deep into it. So, all right. On that update, I think everything else we're I think everything else we're good with. So, um, anything else by the committee? I know Deepa and Paul both have all their signatures, all their papers in. So, welcome. Great. So, that all that's ready to go. And Jasmine, you wanted us to sign things before we leave. >> I had the decision if you'd like to. >> Okay.
because you know we're adding on something >> integrating math classes. >> Okay. >> Miss will share. Yes. >> Um so the state has given us guidance in how we can integrate uh the personal finance requirement um by allowing it to replace our existing course for econ. So while we and that is where where AUHSD is planning on going, we've um actually convened a task force several years ago. Okay. >> Um and worked with our social science department. Um Ruben Patino is helping us lead that work. Um and we decided to move forward with looking at having a personal finance course that would replace the econ. But we'll continue to offer econ for students who would like to choose to um take that course. >> Okay. or it will be a standalone. >> Okay. >> Both the personal finance course will be a standalone course. Um one semester standalone course um and econ would be a standalone one semester course.
>> So, if there's nothing else, um I will make a motion to adjourn at 10:01. >> Second call vote. >> I can IO. >> Angel Cazadian I and Trisha Kendall I. All right. Thanks everybody.
>> I know we're not voting on this item. I just want to say that I am very in support of a course like this. Um you know a lot of members of the community have been asking for something like this. I know when I was a student, you know, uh my very first year at Cypress College, I was targeted for getting credit cards, right? Uh I also want to pay respects to my uh economics teacher, Mrs. Wilcoff, who actually did teach us how to balance our checkbook. Uh I think it's a vital resource for our kids to to learn early on financial literacy. Um so hopefully this does come in the future and I would be very supportive of it, but I am also very concerned about how we'll fit within our many programs that exist. So yeah, if we can get through economics or another course within a curriculum unit, I think that would be great.
But in terms of graduation requirement, um yeah, let's look into it more. But thank you. >> So Miss Quan, uh, economics is usually taken during the senior year. Is that correct? So, >> okay. >> And remember, one of the challenges with the master schedule is both econ and government are semester courses. So, with this being a semester standalone course, you have to find another course to back it up with. And so that becomes a challenge why logistically having it be the econ class is going to be um I think a significant replacement where it'll help. And and >> to Dr. Mal's point, I remember writing learning how to write checks in my economics class. I don't know that I've written a check in the last like 15 years because Apple Pay and all the things. So we need to make sure that we're evolving with the time and teaching our kids the skills and how to budget and do the work in today's world, right?
And so I don't think concepts within economics will be lost in the financial literacy class, but it'll focus heavily on the skills they're going to need to be successful with managing their own life with finances when they leave. So that's why it makes sense logistically to be back to the econ or the gov class because they're both semesters because if you have it as a standalone and not back to that, then what are you going to back it to? And we don't have a lot of semester options because it's just of an impact. And maybe, just maybe, this could be also a course that we could possibly integrate within our Anaheim Innovators mentorship program with regards to other businesses on, you know, maybe Fidelity or other organizations that could teach our kids also how to invest, right? So, this could be an opportunity for our communities to strive, not just thrive during today's economic economic world.
So, thank you. >> Thank you. >> All right. >> Moving on to 11.10. Order for order forms Hyundai. Second >> second. Uh any comments or questions on this item? >> I have some questions. >> Yes. >> This is about huddle. >> Huddle. Thank you. >> Yes. So um we're going to apply this to VAPA students and has has there been an application I know this is being used in um sports. Has there been any application of the uses of demos that we've seen it being used in with um visual and performing arts? >> Miss Quan or what do you mean by demo? Sorry, can you clarif clarify the question? >> Okay. Recording festivals, recording uh band spectacular, recording musicals. Is that what we're we will be allowed to do that with that. That that's an additional perk of moving to um a more fully integrated Huddle system for both our athletics and uh BAPA programs.
Um we are going to be trained by Huddle with our principles next Wednesday where I think we'll have a um more developed uh demo for us to observe. So I guess my question is who's ultimately responsible for the equipment? Um like if you use Huddle out on a field, someone has to take the camera out there or or even at in a gym or something. Is is is it a permanent camera or is it >> We'll have access to both types. So, um, at at identified facilities like our fields and and in our theater, we'll have a fixed camera, but we'll also have a camera that we will have access to provided by Huddle that is a portable camera um that is integrated into the the system. >> Okay. I I just wish I I could see some demonstrations of this in the application of it because I I also see that people are using it for like you know to for their scholarships or for just like individual use um for things and so forth.
So, just seems like um I mean I want to know more about it and see it actually in action and know who ultimately is going to take care of the equipment and make sure that it is secure and put away because it sounds like it takes another I mean an athletic director might oversee it but it still takes another person to be responsible for the equipment. We can ask staff there. There are um districts that I we that were shared with us that used it and so some of the an additional perk of Huddle is that the students have access to their own videos where students can use it for their own recruitment. Um and so we can identify other districts that are using it and share um their links. I don't know if you understand my question. >> My question is who's ultimately responsible for the camera?
If we if I take that out to a soccer field, who sets it up? Who puts it away? Who secures it? Dr. >> I would say it's going to be the athletic director who's because the coach is going to be the one getting their team prepped for the game, right? So, the athletic director and that's typically how things have been done already. Doesn't mean it has to be at every single field and it doesn't mean it's gonna be JV or frost off. It could be just the varsity games, but the athletic director be the one responsible for getting that set up. Uh if it's the portable camera, if it's the one that's fixed, it's just a matter sometimes it just clicks on when it sees the motion or if it's set up to the calendar in the system. And again, there's many many districts across the country, I think, that's using this platform.
And I remember as a coach having to meet with other coaches to turn to give them our VHS tape of our film so we could scout, you know, scout no longer the days. It's just a it's a URL link that we can share via email where they have access. So there's it's way more efficient, but the athletic directors for the for the sports would be the one. Uh in terms of VAPA, I'm not sure. We we'd have to work with with the trainers to see what they suggest based on the best practices in terms of the districts they worked with in in the past. Okay. >> Any other questions? See none. All in favor, please vote I. I. >> I. I. >> Any extensions or naysay? I >> Abstain. Okay, that's a 410. Oh, >> 401.
