Mr. Innis, right? and and Sarah Lewis In fact, they gave Sarah Lewis a very good recommendation for her new school position, I thought.
It that would have been a direct title n violation had anybody decided to file a a claim against the district. So that was one of the things that Heidi and I worked on first thing out of the shoot was to get everything equalized. you did an awesome like salary study of coaching jobs with like life-siz districts and things like that. And so this will mark the two-year mark that you guys as a board have done the right thing by women's sports and by um all of our all of our coaches and all of our sports. So I think huge kudos to the board for that um who and huge kudos to Heidi for that salary study. Well, I I appreciate it because um um we are very competitive and for those of us that have been coaches or have been around coaching, we know how many hours it t really takes.

>> I had a couple questions. >> Oh, sure. Please. >> About the tobacco and vaping, are we in line with like other school districts as far as the procedures for that? >> We are. And and one of the things that we really looked at this year, and of course there's always going to be consequences when these things happen, but we needed to have do what we do best in in schools, and that's teach. And so there needed to be a teaching component involved with um the punitive piece that would happen, of course. And so, um, we've developed a program and we've been talking with the school resource officers at the high school who've been excited about this, but they're going to start a vape educate class with first offenders and make sure that that's in place. If there's a a chance that there's a second offense, then we also were going to work with Cumins and do some group counseling outside of that.
We've had a couple trainings so far. We've got a couple more to go. But uh most groups, most public entity groups are going through this. Uh as a school corporation, we're just part of that process. So, looking forward to that. We think it'll provide some uh efficiencies and just be a more effective tool for getting data from here locally to the state. Uh cut out some of the uh back and forth a little bit. Secondly, uh in the software world, our financial software, we've got some enhancements coming and I'm going to steal the term. It's actually it's the part of the uh phrase that uh the employee hub will be coming on board this summer. Uh we look forward to doing that. It's going to be a tool again for the elementary. It's for employees of Logansport schools. And we're going to pilot it here at the administration building over the next few weeks.
I'm certainly thank very thankful for it seems uh that the the work with that the central office, Mr. Kylie, uh the superintendent's doing with uh working together collaboratively with the town hall and um Cody and Gary uh it seems to be uh you know, working out extremely well. Um I haven't seen this type of collaboration uh with the town in quite a while. So I'm very thankful for that. I'm thankful to uh to everyone over on the town side. Uh we we certainly uh working together nicely at this point. Um so my my recommendation, just my humble opinion, would be to uh take the 100 make a motion to take I'm not making a motion, but the motion would be to take the $178,309 from the kindergarten stabilization fund. Mr. Noons. Thank you, Madam Chair. Congratulations, by the way. Um through you to Mr. Kylie.
Any discussion? Any discussion? Hearing none, submit your vote. Motion carried 6-0. Approve the July 26-27 USD 244 calendar We thought we had Good Friday lined out. It turns out we didn't. We spent a lot of time making sure the calendar's right but we we just we would have done this and so this is just a simple clerical error and uh it's just one of those things that we missed. We got the wrong date. It's a lot earlier. Motion to approve the revised 2026-2027 USD 244 school year calendar as presented. Second. Motion second.
Any opposed, same sign. Motion passes. I move to approve Courtney Robel as a student success coordinator and virtual director at Central Plains High School and Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. Second. Motion by Allison and second by Josh. All those in favor say I. I.
Yeah, that's right. He was very nice for that. Good job. Long story short, I'm going to give my my presentation and and Mr. Cruz gives some very good very good points and I've I've been just sharing and sharing with you I've shared them with her during the course of the last couple of weeks past year. So I'm going to go ahead and just read what I have here and and just also highlight some some points that she made that that that caught my attention as well. The following provides a summary of the history and efforts by Alhambra Unified School District and the community over the past several years to renovate and support our the high school football program. It also highlights the ongoing partnership between the AUSD and the booster club. Community and district contributions to football field program renovation partnership. Summer 2022 AUSD purchased new uh new football uniforms for the Alhambra High School football team and it cost nearly $20,000.
So, we we do we're very very competitive with our salaries for our coaching. >> Um sports is a big deal. >> Yeah. Right. >> I really that's good. Okay. Um I will need anybody have any questions on that? >> No. This is an action item. So, I'll need a motion for the approval of the 2026 2027 CBHS and HMS coaching stipens. >> I'll make that motion. >> I'll move to approve the 2627 CBS HMS coaches statements. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Okay. >> All right. Our my next item is um because of the changes at the high school um where we're going to have a lot of um classes online for dual enrollment and career technical education um we are expanding the role um to be uh the person that's been helping to be our college success specialist. I have a new job description attached and a salary range.
This organization supports children with serious illnesses, providing comfort for them during difficult treatment. We are so proud of our students for using the skills they've learned this year to participate in this service project. And finally, our high school spring musicals kick off this weekend. You you can figure it out once you get there, but make sure if you have some time you go to one or both of these great productions. Oh, yeah. Um Anything else? We do have public comments. Is that correct?
We're also going to work with um, Willow for any type of of supports needed there. So, um we're trying to have a more um supportive approach as well. We want to make sure that we're not going straight to I think the the biggest change is um in that first offense is making sure that they have an opportunity to do this uh program and and get the support that they need and make sure they're back in school as quick as possible. I think the punitive piece piece certainly needs to be there. Um what we've found the challenge is if if they're out of school for 10 days, they're probably off doing whatever it is we didn't want them to be doing in school, we've just given them additional time to do that. So, our goal is to get them back in the classroom as fast as possible and then make sure that there's also some type of diversion program in place and some education involved.
Uh so the staff here in this building will get a kind of sneak peek. And we'll go through some just rather than roll out to us nearly 700 employees but we'll just give it a little pilot. Just the staff we have here to interact, pros and cons, things of that nature. But it'll be a welcome enhancement to our software and again should streamline some processes for us and some data Uh data becomes more timely when we can improve our processes. So Outside of questions from the board, that's my report. We'll see you. >> [clears throat] >> The concrete work, was that the geo bond? Is that part of the geo bond? We're using geo bond funds to pay for the project. >> Yeah. All right. Thank you. Mr. Fagan. Good evening. Good evening. So uh two items um each year, first, fifth, and ninth grade, we do a computer refresh and that's at the end of their four for first grade, they're starting their four years and then fifth and ninth at the end of their four years, they get new computers.
I might have missed something, but this at their meeting, not the one that they had with us, but before that, uh the Board of Selectmen closed the warrant. Are they going to are they going a motion or a request from us to reopen that warrant? Y- Yes, so we we inquired with the town administrator. They actually took a vote, and I I went back and listened to it, cuz I I had seen it initially. Um and it is it was to close the warrant to citizens to citizens' petitions. Um and but yes, they are prepared to um to consider our request. Yes, and they know that it it may be on its way. Okay. So. I just before we >> [clears throat] >> go down this road >> this road, yeah. >> Before we before we go down this road, and all of a sudden, you know, we spend however much time discussing it and feeling really good, and the Selectmen go, "No." I wanted to make sure that we were in some type of uh We do have an understanding.
Any discussion? Hearing none, submit your vote. Motion carried 6-0. Greenbush Blended Learning MOU. Okay, this is for Spanish classes. You see this information before. Again, because we're doing online Spanish, you see the number of students that are enrolled anticipated for next year and the cost. They're billed at two different times, October 1 and February 1 for the students involved in Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. And this total amount is approximately $18,000, approximately $18,000. It's a lot less expensive than having a Spanish teacher for 24 kids. I'll make a motion. I guess is it effective though? I mean, I know it's cheaper than >> It is. having but are they really learning? It it it is effective. We do evaluate that. I'll make a motion to approve the Greenbush Blended Learning Memorandum of Understanding for the purpose of delivering foreign language instruction to Burlington High School students for the 2026-2027 school year in the amount of $450 per student per semester.
Any opposed, same sign. Motion passes 6-0. Great. Mr. President, I move that the board go into executive session to discuss teachers negotiation for the purpose of noticing items for negotiation under the exception for the employee employee negotiations under the KOMA and that we return to open session in this room. 5 minutes till 7:00? 7:00. Motion by Josh. >> Second. Second by Allison. All those in favor say I. I.
Reseeded the football field in the summer of 2023. Facilities team removed the grass and reseeded the field. This involved seven staff members working approximately 4 hours per day several days a week for nearly 2 months. Hours worked for June were about 500 hours and for July for 400 hours. The total cost of their salaries during this time spent on the football field was about $16,576. Football field community clean-up. I I didn't hear a lot in in this booster's presentation um get bringing it together and if uh Angeline can show this picture um this was a clean-up on August 12, 2023. More than 50 community members contributed to stadium renovation. Painting the press box, bleachers, concession stand, and restrooms. Participants included student council, AUSD staff members, board members, people from the sheriff's office, and AUSD staff and families. The event was featured on the front page of the Alhambra Progress News on August 16, 2023 on $3,000 is what the district went ahead and and and used as far as for supplies.
And this is important because we're going to need somebody to be in there with our students to provide targeted tutoring and technical troubleshooting and then navigating online with the CT classes and the dual enrollment. And then they also will be taking attendance and and checking on academic progress. So the job has really um increased um the responsibility of it. um and they're going to have to develop indiv individualized action plans for atrisisk students and constant followup. So um I have the job description and it's going to be paid out of a grant fully 596 out of the um the CED grant for Mountain Institute >> and this is a full-time position correct. >> This is a full-time position for next year. Yeah. Okay. Awesome.

So, I think we found this is a place that we can do that. The SRO's were excited about that and we'll make sure that the students have the support and we'll make sure also that those things aren't happening in our school. First and foremost, we have to make sure that it's safe and so the consequences will always be there, but just making sure that that education piece is there as well. >> I had one more question. >> Sure. >> About um the Friday school Saturday. >> Um is other districts doing that as well? Um have we explored all opportunities? And I'm assuming that we're going to see how this works and then revisit if it needs to be changed. >> We will. It's a great question. You know, for me being a different district for a long long time of similar size. I wasn't familiar with Saturday school at all.
