The Charles, for those of us who can remember that far back, used to be the subject of songs. Um, Love That Dirty Water. Um over the years the Charles had become um one of the claims to fame for the EPA, the greatest success story actually in the EPA in terms of of water. Um it has been actually swimmable at times. However, last summer um everything had to be cancelled because of some heavy rains that came down. Uh the towns of Boston and Cambridge have a lot of what we call csos crossconnects between sewer and storm water.
Here comes. That's a fly ball to right, Turncliff waits for it, and he's got it. And the error does not come back to bite the Clockers, they get through the top of the first scoreless. And they'll come to bat for the first time, no score. The southpaw Henry Leek will be the starting pitcher for the Panthers this afternoon. Through two appearances, he's one and 0, but that ERA inflated at 16.33. He's given up seven runs. He's walked seven in three innings. So, an opportunity here for the Clockers to see their hot bats. Take a look at their lineup. Finn Conry leads off with Ollie LaRowe in the two, Chris Bradica, who's batting .667, that leads the Tri-Valley League in batting average. Michael Schreiber, the shortstop in the cleanup. Ian McCon, Ian McCon, sorry, bats fifth. Jake Lemay, DH, bats sixth. And I don't know what Miss Adams put in his bag, but I'm sure it it goes along with what he likes. And I've been told that he enjoys going to the gym. He enjoys MMA, golf, and uh so I'm sure that something in there fits that. So, thank you, Miss Adams. [applause] >> Gabriel, Diego, get up here. >> All right, Gabriel Diego. This is pretty common theme, silent genius. Um, I heard things like next person to take over Elon Musk's career. He's gonna Yeah, SpaceX it up. Um, quiet present who consistently stands out through his thoroughess, thoughtfulness, and mindfulness.
Learn from the past. Equal participation from all members. And stay on task. >> Thank you. And like I said earlier, there were no actions taken in close session. She treats everyone with fairness and respect. And her calm presence helps create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. She is also a thoughtful and supportive classmate who encourages others, offers help when classmates are still working, and brings joy to those around her with her warm and uplifting spirit. What makes her especially deserving of this recognition is her remarkable perseverance and growth. There was a time when she expressed doubt in her reading ability, often saying that reading was difficult. However, through determination and hard work, she chose to persist. I have seen her approach assessments with patience and focus, and I have had the privilege of hearing her growth firsthand during oral reading. Her progress is a testament to her resilience and commitment to improving herself. And it has made me incredibly proud. She reminds us that true achievement is not only measured by ability, but by effort.
There would be a liability issue that we're going to have to fight with that. So, I think our I think our policy is lockers. Just don't bring them. Um we just leave it that, but we'll see what NEOLA comes up with. I talked to Tell City and they're basically doing the same thing, waiting on NEOLA as well. Okay. Uh Now, they're going to put We're going to put some heat into it when we do catch them with them. We're going to have to look at the suspensions and go from there. Do we have to redo anything in the boxes or give them boxes? Uh we will have to put our NEOLA policy It has to go on our website and then in our handbooks. >> Yes. I'm expecting that basically anytime, to be honest with you. So But I'm really shocked that I haven't seen anything from NEOLA yet, but it's coming.
And so um certainly uh it's always on mind and we want to be efficient with taxpayer dollars, but um you know with with that report going to be a public thing um I think it's something uh especially to be aware of. So, the first thing I'd bring you to is the document CCSC financial planning document that I gave you guys. Just kind of a running live doc. Um, sorry, it's on letter head. I think it's probably towards the bottom of that stack. Um, so one thing [clears throat] um that we just found again t trying to tighten up internal controls um which is always a good thing. I don't think anybody's perfect at it. Um but um starting um April's been um just asking folks to come look at um any kind of invoices we have. Um so you know whoever kind of it falls in their area that we're like, "Yep, that's that's good.
They meet twice a week during the season where participants take part in interactive discussions, team building activities, and running or movement exercises. As part of the program, participants also compete complete a community impact project where they work together to identify a need and give back such as organizing a donation drive or creating messages of kindness for others. We are especially proud of our participants' growth in self-confidence and teamwork, as well as their accomplishments of completing the end of the season non-competitive 5K. Uh many of our students achieve personal goals they never thought possible, making it a truly rewarding experience for everyone involved. When is that 5K this year? So, May 16th is the 5K in Highland. So, come out and support our girls as they run in that non-competitive 5K. All right, we have Katia Llanas. I don't know if she's here tonight. Uh Gabriella Cunningham.
So when a heavy rain comes down that extra rain goes into the section of the mains which run side by side within the manholes and the extra storm water washes onto the sewer side or rather you know mixes with what's on the sewer side and flows right into the river. Um so um this is a problem and the NWR is trying to sidestep it saying it's too expensive. Um I've been affiliated with Charles River and part of try to be part of the solution in a small way. Uh Doug Small asked me back in 2015 if I would be an area coordinator. I would meet with once a month with six samplers who had taken samples from the river and I would transport them for testing. Um this is how the EPA has gathered its and monitored um at 40 plus sites along the Charles River.
So, as mentioned, Austin losers of four straight, Smithfield, Dover-Sherborn, Zaverian, and Medway. Combined six runs in those four games, 51 runs given up. So, this is a big get-right game here for the Panthers. For the Clockers, through four games, they've looked phenomenal at the plate, 40 runs, averaging 10 runs a game, averaging 10 hits a game, with 13 doubles as a team, batting 351. The OPS 948. Extremely impressive through four games, but plenty of time left in the season. We'll see how they can respond against the lefty Henry Leake. Finn Conroy digs in. And the first pitch is just a bit outside. Conroy this season 308 to start through four games. And that's a strike. Sophomore. Leake third this afternoon. 1-1 count from Leake. That's a pop up. And it looks like it'll be heading out of play behind the Ashland dugout. Ball two strikes on Conroy.
He approaches each day with a calm focus and genuine curiosity, especially when it comes to a strong interest in space. Gabriel's respectful nature and love for learning make him a valued part of our community and school. I just want to say this is one of those students I'm so glad got recognized because you see him walk by. You know, you don't know the impact he's had on the school and the teachers were so grateful to have you as a student. So, thank you very much for your hard work. [applause] >> Come on over here. >> However you want to do it. >> Yes. That's from Miss Adams. Oh, I'm off. >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you. [applause] >> So, now is the time for a public comment on closed session items. Is there any public comment for closed session items? Okay, we will now recess into close session.

And we invite uh Dan Norris, our director of to share his monthly presentation. >> Good evening everybody. I am here like like Front said to do the measure U bond update for April. So here we go. Um the overview this hasn't changed so but I'll go through it. Project updates, school renovations, infrastructure improvements, technology updates, upgrades and safety and security enhancements. And in the program schedule, it's the phase one design and planning. Phase two is bidding and award. Phase three, construction and execution. And the last phase is completion and closeout. Right now, our project that are in design are uh school kitchen assessments. We're working with uh the director of food service to kind of finalize the um the schools kitchens um from first to last.
My favorite ride is Indiana Jones. Sparky, have you been to Disneyland? >> Oh, yes. Have you ever been to the Tiki Room at Disney? >> Oh, yeah. That place is really cool. >> I have been there, too. >> The birds are original robotics made by Garner Holt. Now, I live at Park View in Ms. Lamb's room, which has been my home for the last 3 years. You guys have been coding me for all 3 years, right? >> Yes, Sparky. We have been helping you make you come alive since you got to Park View. Want to tell them some of the things we do in robotics? Sure. The students write the scripts, design the costume and decorations, and code every movement I make. For instance, watch my left arm move right now. Every eye movement, twist, and lighting choice, like the changing lights right now, is purposefully programmed.
Would you do something about that?" We can't. But uh in sincerity, I really came here to pay a little homage to uh Elias Ragsdale. Uh Elias, as I'm sure you all know, I'm assuming that I know you're looking around, you all look a little at same age, maybe, but uh but I believe he's the youngest uh gentleman or person ever elected to the board of education, which is a feat in and of itself. Uh but before you get too full of yourself, uh you know, I thought I'd mention uh Edward Rutled and Thomas Lynch. They were both representing the great state of South Carolina and they signed the Declaration of Independence when they were just 24. So, I mean, you know, I know you're on the board of ed and all, but uh, you know, you'll put it in perspective. And, you know, I was thinking of our founders in this year of, uh, you know, our 250th anniversary.
