We needed that or whatever." So we did catch one. It's on the the back page on the bottom. Um and so uh there was a software renewal that we've had um for and it was a doubled up actually. We had two different systems in place. uh one was not being used at all for several years. Um and so uh we have canceled that subscription. It was about $4,300 a year. Um and so [clears throat and cough] a little bit more efficiency there. So um in regards to SEA1, um and I would have you guys take a look at the um bar graph chart. Um [clears throat] these are these are just two sheets uh from the most recent policy analytics budget order. um and and projections that we kind of went through. Um so two different things in there. Um I guess the first one if you look at the dark blue light blue chart um the first thing if you look at 27 uh minus 8.7 that's our AV projection um you know we went up that number that that net assessed value 540ish million is our AV26 and that's projection um next year it went down an extra percent it was about seven and a half um again projection um but the um and and some of you may know this better than I would but the capitalization rate for farm ground went from 8% to 9%.
I feel like I saw her. Come on Miss Gabby. Sophia de Jesus. Isabelle Garber. Aeristan. Here. Uh Angelina Guy. Miss Maria Molden. Raven Andac Harley Peculius Julia Seabolt Eileen Serna Radhika Shivley Elise Whitaker Uh Nila Yasin Cadence Milsap Yep, and that's it. Thank you, everyone. You can stay up here. Yeah. Ms. Sorenson also sponsors our student council. Student council meets every 2 weeks on Wednesdays. The goal of student council is to help out the school in any way they can. Student council has done a coat drive and a food drive, uh which has been donated to local places to help those in need. Uh student council also does morning meetings for our social emotional topics for each month. This consists of going into all the classrooms in the school and presenting to the class about the SEL topic. Student council also does fundraisers to raise money, such as selling goodie bags, raffle baskets, and gratitude grams.
Um I'm not doing that anymore. Actually Liz Burns is doing it for me now. Um I had to bow out this year. Um there is little tolerance if any if Ashlin and other towns along the cross connects have csos we have to report them instantly. They are subject to investigation. We have to fix the problem as fast as possible. Um so if we can do it why can't they? So why should Ashlin care? A section of of U action flows to the Charles River. All that area behind the Warren School, Warren Woods area, the backside of the of Spy Glass Hill, Nancy Drive, um that area there all flows through the Charles River. Um we are going to have to spend some money in storm water to do some remediation for phosphorus control at some point. Again, if we have to do it, why can't they?
Few steps. Yep. One ball and two strikes to the lead-off man for the Clockers. That is just upstairs. And it's two balls and two strikes. Top of the lineup for the Clockers has been very, very good so far. That's a fly ball into center field. And out there to make the catch is Cosgrove. Hollister's got Quinn playing third, they've got Roche at short, Chris Baker at second base, and Ben O'Brien at first base. Kramer's in left, Cosgrove is out in center. Outfield, no doubles. Ollie LaRue digs in. Tristan Snyder is the right fielder, excuse me. Zolly LaRue takes upstairs. Batting 400 through four games is LaRue. He's also kind of a magnet getting hit by pitches. It's two balls and no strikes here to Ollie. Two and 0 from Leake. And it's a three ball no strike count here to LaRue. Chris Bradica waits on deck.
We will try to get out as soon as we can. Okay, we'll go back in session after the close session. >> Please stand your caps. >> Salute. Pledge. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> A motion to approve the agenda. >> Second to approve the agenda. Second. All those in favor I. Unanimous. In close session, the only action was due to government code 54957, we are draining to allow an appeal to the board in close session the next board meeting. Student reps [clears throat] Thank you.
So, I believe we're going to start with u the Sierramont kitchen first and then we're going to try to come up with a plan to do at least five over the next two summers. Um, so we're working with the designer design team and um trying to make sure everything's within budget and go from there. This summer we're u going to be moving the P1 and P2 portables over at Majestic Way. Um on the consent calendar, the uh ramps were approved. So that was the first phase in getting this um project underway. Um the I believe the actual contract for the portals will to the movement of the portables will go to the board I think next month. Um fire alarms at Siermont and Ruskin are going through GSA for approval right now. Uh exterior window replacement at Northwood. So, we've kind of figured out what materials and kind of approved renderings of what that looks like, window height, um what kind of materials.
Dylan is actually speaking for me right now. >> Yep, that's me. Sparky, can you tell them about some of the things we have dressed you up as? >> Oh, yeah. The Spark of Genius usually dresses me up for holidays and events. I have been a ghost at the Harvest Festival, Darth Vader for May the 4th, Albert Einstein for our STEM night, a little girl singing about snowflakes for winter, and so many more. >> That's right. We've had so much fun transforming you into different characters. Sparky, what has been your favorite character? >> I think I really like who I am today. Thank you for listening. I hope we've been able to teach you about our great robotics club at Parkview. >> Bye, Sparky. See you back at Parkview. >> Bye, everyone.
Uh, Alexander Hamilton was 21, James Madison 25, Aaron Burr 20, James Monroe 18, and although not an American, the marquee of uh, the Lafayette was just 20. Uh so I use those ages uh to juxtapose that to you. Uh I'm sure all of you and forget about the politics aside. Uh I can't imagine that you take someone that was the president of the student union uh a half a dozen years ago. Somebody who gives his time when there's a water break. Uh not that he's paid for it or not that anybody was looking, but I guess a few people did uh relative to uh providing water to the people of the city uh that needed it. uh the work you do at the uh at the food pantry uh just everything uh since I've been privileged to represent this city. I've seen you at what flag raising, what cultural rep, you know, uh celebration and and what a great thing.

Let me share his thoughts when he was asked to respond to these three questions. First, what does being a good student mean to you? His answer was this, "Being a good student means being responsible and kind to others." And he's right. These qualities are enough to help a student succeed and be effective in school. Second, "Who inspires you to do your best and why?" His response was very interesting. He said, "No one in particular inspires me to do my best. I try to be the best person I can be for myself and for others." This may be surprising, but focusing on on improving yourself is indeed how you truly thrive. Lastly, "What message would you like to share with other students?" He shared, "I would like to encourage other students to help those in need, be respectful of others, and not judge people." This is very thoughtful and insightful.
Aye. Aye. All right, recommend that the board approve the contract between Brian Linebaugh School Corporation for May 22, 2026 through July 31, 2026 to prepare state and federal grant applications at a rate 297.25 per day, not to exceed 30 days. I'll make a motion. I'll second. Suzy, all in favor? Aye. Aye. All right, field trips. There's been a couple that have been added to the ones that you have. All right. Mhm. So, that's coming your way. I'll do this all, or do you want to do them individually, or just want to do them all in one motion? >> a motion to approve all of them. I'll second. Chris, Donnie, all in favor? Aye. Aye. >> All right, any other old new business for consideration? I'd like to bring up some new business. The social people post our grass. We have this issue every year. And I was always somebody complaining about something.
So that drops AV more. Um and so um policy analytics is projecting our AV to drop 8.7% in 27. That AV obviously is what our tax rate goes to for operations debt service and referendum funds. Um and then also it affects your your debt capacity too. So um just just to be aware of that. The other piece um that I I just had a call last night with Steifle um looking at um and I mentioned this last month and and kind of actually rethinking it a little bit. Um so the [clears throat] legislature gave us the option to protect the debt service fund um in 26 um or let it all hit the ops. And so that's the second bar graph. Um [clears throat] so um with the new homestead credit, right, that the legislator was touting the 10% $300, right? Um so that that's an unfunded credit, right?
With the that money that is raised, student council has bought snacks for the second and third graders taking I-Read, bought gifts for teachers for teacher appreciation week, and made cards thanking staff for all the hard work they do. All right. Uh Zeke Framboise, Ezekiel Isabelle Garber Madelyn Gilmer Luna Sandoval Odin Kubiak Destiny Gutierrez Iris Merlos Sophia De Jesus Kayla Marroquin Audriana Young Harley Peculius Alec Earl Cadence Milsap Is that right? And that's all of our student council. All right, we also have art club with Ms. Marcinkowski. Art club is a creative space for fourth and fifth graders who love art and want to explore new materials and ideas. They meet every other Thursday to try hands-on projects like clay, shrinky dinks, print making, and painting. Um Ms. Marcinkowski focuses on helping students feel comfortable expressing their own ideas and experimenting with different techniques. Their first project was clay bobbleheads painted with tempera and finished with a gloss spray to mimic a glazed effect.
Um, the people of Ashlin have spoken loudly in terms of the um comprehensive plan about caring for the environment. Um, I think this letter coming from you to the governor and to the EPA and D uh fits right into uh the implementation of of the town's people's wishes. Um and lastly, um at some point in time in the future, I'm going to come before you as a stormwater chair and talk about the MS4 report. Uh we are required by the MS4 uh permit to spend a lot of money and do a lot of things for what? Pollution control. Again, you know, our money is just as precious as theirs and we have to do it. So, I urge you on behalf of Charles River to um to write those letters. Um Emily Norton um has a wonderful small staff. They do incredible work uh to try to save the river.
Three balls no strikes. That's strike. Umpire did a strikeout call with his hands there, but it was only strike one. Three balls and one strike to the number two hitter. Foul that straight back. Flinched a little there. And now the count is full to LaRue. Three balls two strikes, and he lines that one into center field. Cosgrove has it. Lined it up well, and two outs here for Leake to start. And now Chris Bradica, the first baseman, will bat. as mentioned earlier. 10 for 15. He's driven in 12, he's got seven doubles on the season. All-star last year. Well on his way to that this year. Lefty-lefty matchup. That's a strike. Off-speed there from Henry Leake. No balls and one strike. Bases empty, two away. Bottom of the first. That one is fouled away as he pops it up. And it's nothing and two. The inning were to continue, Michael Shriver would bat next.
[cough] [clears throat] >> Good evening board members and superintendent Mr. Barker and thank you for having me. My name is Payton Winders and I'm your New Tech student representative with events and updates from for this last month. [clears throat] So, some past events. Uh, Monday, March 23rd at 9:00 a.m. New Tech by annual career fair took place. Such a great outcome. It was so much fun. A big shout out to Miss Vamp and Miss Mc Williams for hosting it and pushing it on for us. Thank you community members, military military personnel, first responders, and multiple college representatives who came and talked to our students. >> [clears throat] >> Thursday, March 26 6th at 6 p.m. we had a family STEM night with Mr. Arnell, Mr. Lewis, and Mr. Hernandez. Families had such a great time with over a hundred attendees. The physics, math, chemistry, and forensic [clears throat] students who presented did an amazing job.
So, that's u going to be happening over the seven summer. Um library tables at all sites, that's ongoing. We're kind of getting a a number of um of tables needed at each site, whether it's a round table or a rectangle table. and the comprehensive infrastructure renewal and utility assessment. Uh that's the HVAC projects at Majestic Way in Somerdale. Those will be happening this summer. And just to remind you, those are boiler chiller system schools and we're replacing those with package units. And we've actually already started the process so we can get it done through summer and give our custodial team enough time to clean the sites before the start of next school year. All right, moving on to project out to bid. We have the Ruskin roof replacement for K1 and K2. Um, that project is out to bid and I'm sure that agreement will be uh in front of you um next month for approval.
>> [applause] >> Do you guys have any questions for our robotics club? >> No. >> So, that's okay. >> I I do. So, is the club an after school or in in school event? >> Yeah, it's an after school event. Um we meet once a week for this robotics club, and like it said, they come up with the scripts. Um we'll put music behind it. They do the set design, costume design. Um they design like the banners to go down here, and um it's really fun cuz it's super creative and student-led. >> And where does Sparky usually spend her time? >> Sparky lives in the corner of my classroom and then once a week comes out and gets coated and dressed up and then it usually takes us about three meetings to turn it into something and then you know, we plan out what where we want it to go.
What we need now is hope, right? What we need now is young people willing to uh step up. Uh when someone young usually asked me if they should go into politics, I said, "If you want agilation, learn how to play the guitar." Uh and I'm sure all of you can equate to that with the service that you give. Uh so Elias uh I would on behalf of my legislative group uh Alex and Colassos Gil and Rosie Begoli and frankly uh from Governor Cheryl and all of us in the legislature want to congratulate you on the achievement of your election and look forward with just big saucered eyes to all the great things that you with your colleagues are going to achieve going forward. God bless you all and thank you. So, congratulations again, Commissioner Ragdale. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> And thank you to our Senator John McKan and our mayor Raymond Gowski for for coming.

I don't know why. But uh I received pictures of our grass and it's complaints. And uh I really think we put some grass in the start of the year and get some job descriptions put together. And uh I don't know if we need to go to executive session to discuss personnel on that. We can do that. Okay. What are your all's thoughts on it? I agree. We need new mulch for the grade school. I definitely need some. >> That. For the gym, it'd be nice to be able to talk to these talk about We just got a lot of weeds down there and that's all right there. Yeah, I got to get the weed whacker and weed it out. I I didn't That's That was on my agenda, but I like I said, the weather the weather got me and I just didn't have time.
