Um certainly uh if any of you would ever like to go see that, be more than happy to take you down there. It's it's pretty cool. Um some of the things they've got going on in there. Um so right now this uh this lease was put together by Lewis and Capus. Um Michelle Cooper is the attorney for all school districts in the county. she actually handed it off to a different partner in their firm that does more of this kind of work. Um but uh they put that together. Our all four schools will bring it to their boards um for approval. Frankfurt is the actual LEA, the local educational agency um for the um co-op. They're they're the um I guess if you would call it like the holder of the co-op or whatever kind of as far as dollars and and and all those pieces.
Motion and a second, any discussion? Um yeah, I'd like to say a quick little something on this. I'm sure we'll talk a little bit more about this later, but I just want to point out that at a time where a lot of uh administrative positions across the state are going unfilled, we are very fortunate to have a a current successor in place to fill that gap. We we won't have uh difficult of a transition as some other school districts may have, because we've taken the time to set all this up in advance. So, I want to thank Dr. Lever and of course Ms. Pease for all the hard work they put in to prepare for this transition. So, I just really look forward to everything that's going to continue to happen here and all the new things this may Thank you, sir. All right, Mr.
Well, um thank you for catching that number one. Um it's the 1.442. It's it's the first number that was that was the correct number and I just didn't catch the last one. Um the the discrepancy between the 250 and the 369. Uh since this time um we actually want to look at adding a couple of hundred thousand on this. Um and I was going to talk about this in the enterprise funds because it kind of straddles both. Um and let me let me explain why. Um and this relates to the transfer of um the fields uh the school fields the maintenance and care of those school fields from the DPW over to the school department. So, as part of that, the school department needs um what is available in retained earnings from the enterprise fund to do what they feel like they need to do to set up uh that department for success in terms of uh taking care of those school fields.
But a nice play there by Brogan Roche yet short. Two quick outs here for Leake. He'll take Ollie Laro on next. Laro over one so far. Here comes the first pitch. That's a pop up and it'll head out of play. So nothing in one on Laro. Bases empty, two away. Bottom of the third, still no score. Here comes the 0-1. That's a shot in the left field. Moving over to make the catch is Kramer. And a 1-2-3 third for Henry Leake. Both pitchers have gone three scoreless. So we head to the fourth. >> Jared Grumbach will start the fourth inning for Ashland. Three scoreless with a few strikeouts for Grumbach. Good news is the rain has stopped for now. Knock on wood. Catcher Gavin Salmon will lead it off. It's one for one. He's got the only hit so far for Holliston. Had a single back in the second.
And are there any questions? >> Thank you. [applause] >> We now go into public comment period. First off, we have a public hearing regarding the adoption of a resolution which will increase development fees established by the district as provided by the level one developer fee study. I'll now open that public hearing. Anyone like to speak to that hearing? That public hearing is now closed. We will now hear comments from the public on agenda or non-aggenda items. the procedure.
So really looking forward to that. I also found out this week that one of our TK teachers at Brookree, Louisa Kamacho, is going to be recognized by Assembly Member Lee as our district area unsung hero. So really excited for her. That recognition is going to happen um on the same day as our Piedmont recognition. April 24th is just a really popular day for events. Um, and so that'll be in Fremont from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. So hopefully, um, her Brook Tree colleagues will go out and celebrate her and everyone else that has availability. In addition, um, we have several, uh, administrators also being recognized this month. So, our statewide administrative association, AXA, is having their annual awards gala also on April 24th. very popular night and we've got two individuals in Beressa being recognized. Um Marita Mayora is going to be recognized as our rookie of the year um administrator and then Tom Carol is being recognized as our student services administrator for um Santa Clara County.
Um I know from my experience that there is ample unnecessary Chromebook use in my child's day at Hooker Oak, including the use of Chromebook apps in music class, videos for entertainment in fine arts, and the gamified learning apps she uses every day at school. The time spent on any and hopefully all of these screen-based activities could be redirected toward time outdoors, one thing we know children actually need and benefit from in both the short-term and the long-term. Thank you. >> Thank you. All right. Um we do have more time remaining. Is there anyone else who would like to speak um on items from the floor? Okay. Go on. I see you, too. So, we'll have you speak next, okay? Thank >> So, in March I came before you guys and informed you of a situation that happened with my student, um one of my students being sent a sexually explicit image um over via the um Chromebook through a student's email.
It depends on the situation. Um so there will be more of those. Uh but we are also looking at some restructuring and moving around other programs. So again hopefully the fewer um staff we need to go down by the more flexibility we would have to do some of that combining to create positions. Um you know by going down a gened section to go up a special education section which is what we also did this year. um three of our new special education sections this year were as a result of closing general education sections that were underenrolled. So that is the same plan going forward. >> Thank you so much. I appreciate that input. Um I had a follow-up question, but if it No, it escaped me. When it comes back, I'll ask it another time. Thank you so much. >> Any other questions? Uh moving on to our facility report.

The bus driver will have a separate room, and the three chaperones will also have a separate room. Our destinations are the Chapel of the Holy Cross, and the Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, and Peace Park, Slide Rock State Park, and Slide Rock Crossing. For food and dining, we want to go to Ken's Creekside Restaurant, The Secret Garden Cafe, and Red Rock Cafe. Meals will be paid for by the student council, and locations are subject to change depending on convenience and availability. Our budget snapshot, excluding tax, is for the in-state it would be $1,125. Our meals would be around $95. Our destinations would be $45, which is majority free of charge, only Slide Rock charges an admission fee. The estimated cost is $2,080, and trip expenses will be covered through student council funding and efforts. Our to-do list is to hold quick and full from the board, get all permissions for extra students if board approved.
Teachers contracts, they all run through Frankfurt. um and then their board would approve it kind of as a final step. So again, um we put in there a couple things. This is this is the draft. You can see some things highlighted in there. Obviously, those wouldn't be highlighted in a final draft, but um as noted, if the ready grant is not awarded for some reason, whatever the state pulls that funding, the lease becomes null and void. Um and then, um there's the couple things in there about the shared costs and I mean there's other stuff obviously in there. At the end of the day, SE is the owner of the building. Um, they are responsible outside of just the operational costs and that and that $5,000 pot um that we would all put in to do anything. Um, and and I think uh we had written it for five years.
Poleszuk? Aye. Mr. Music? >> Aye. Mr. Tenario? Aye. And I vote aye. Congratulations. >> Congratulations, Ms. Pease. Thank you. And just just to throw it out there, um member Billups unfortunately could not be here, but he did send a message that he 100% supports you as well. Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. We'll begin with our agenda under facilities request. Edison's athletic department is going to host a fundraiser basketball game at Edison Junior Senior High School between the administrators and the SROs versus the Harlem Wizards. And as I have been told that is the JV team of the Harlem Globetrot Trotters. So, that'll be an interesting experience. That's going to be held on Saturday, May 2nd in the high school gym starting at 4:00. And I for one I'm looking forward to that. That'll be very interesting to see how they do. I'm recommending to the board that they approve this facility request.
Um that's going to be incredibly um complicated to do um to unwind kind of the enterprise fund uh that was established under special legislation um etc. Um, so what uh what we ultimately feel would be the best idea would be to just take money from the stabilization fund this year in the amount of $200,000 and add to uh the transfer that we were going to do, which would bring that up to 1.642. Um and then the following year um when the enterprise fund um when that gets dissolved it would uh flow to free cash and we would then take that and put that back into the stabilization fund. Um I tried to make that as uh as simple um as as it could be uh just for for everybody's sake. >> Okay. So we're looking at just just to kind of level set. So, we're looking at one 1.642 out of the stabilization fund.
He takes outside. 1-0 That's a good pitch from Grumbach. It's one and one. Salmon, Rochi, and Snyder are the batters in this inning as that one's smoked into left field. That's a base hit. McCoy goes to cut it off, bobbles it for a second. Gavin Salmon is two for two, the only two hits for Holliston. Ball was tattooed there. So, lead off man on the board. Brogan Rochi will bat. He's 0 for 1. Grumbach will check on Salmon at first. He goes back in headfirst. Another throw over there from Grumbach. Salmon's back in there safely. As Rochi awaits his first pitch. He'll step off. It's some miscommunication between Passalaqua and Grumbach again. And they're going to ask for time. They don't seem to be on the same page currently. And that was settled quickly. Here's the first pitch. Runner goes and it's dropped. Gavin Salmon will take second.
Individual speakers will be allowed three minutes to address the board on each closed session or non-aggenda item. The board limits the total time for any topic to 20 minutes. The board president may rule on the appropriateness of a topic and if the topic is more suitable at any time. The school district governing board cannot legally take action on a matter at one of its regular meetings if that matter is not on the official agenda. Is there anybody that would like to speak to anything on the agenda or non-aggenda items? >> Hi, good evening. Um, my name is Jennifer Vanderbeek. I'm a PE teach at West Valley and I'm here to speak on behalf of Justin Bixby um for coaching volleyball for this next upcoming season. Um, initially we had met years ago when we were I was coaching Anderson Middle School and he was actually coaching at really know each other very well.
So all of region 8. So really excited for them. In addition, uh we have lots of wonderful school celebrations coming up. So, as we've been talking about our facilities, we always reference our pod schools. Well, those pod schools are having their 50th anniversary celebrations this year. Just before spring break, Summerdale hosted their event. It was fabulous. Um the staff and PTA just did a wonderful job with snacks and and games and a silent auction plus their open house and everything was free for the entire neighborhood and anyone who came out. So it was really a great celebration and we have three more coming up. Uh so we have Vincy Park there next also on April 24th. Vincy Park is having their 50th um celebration from 5 to 7. They're going with the 70s theme, so make sure to dress up. And then uh Majestic Way and Brookree will also be celebrating their 50th anniversary um celebrations on May 1st.
Since then, I have met with John Vincent, Pedro and Tina um to discuss the matter. Something that is concerning is that 7 months ago, Securly actually implemented a um detection for sexually explicit images, but we didn't know about it. That's a huge problem. We also didn't know that Securly couldn't block sexually explicit images. That's a problem. When the Children's Internet Protection Act came out in 2000, shortly thereafter, a couple of years later, Chico Unified put together stakeholders and talked about things that they wanted um the our security systems to be able to block pornography, nudity, um school cheating, hate, discrimination, things like that. That was the early 2000s, nearly 20 over actually over 20 years ago. Technology has changed in a very big way. I feel, and I did share it with the three individuals that I met, I feel Chico Unified needs to put together another stakeholders committee.
Uh Commissioner Brunac, would you do the honor, please? Thank you, President Basford. The facilities committee occurred on March 31st, 2026. Those in attendance were myself, Commissioner Paris, Commissioner Ciano, President Bassford. Those from administration who attended were Dr. Roberts, Mr. Jingerro, Mr. Uchi, Miss Cusilevich, Mr. Doctor, Mr. Maldonado, and Mr. Marion. Meeting start time was 4 p.m. Meeting end time was 4:50 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Items of discussion were the buildings and ground updates, the handy chairlift installation as school number 12 has been completed and has successfully passed inspection for use. The maintenance team will begin painting yellow curbs around the school grounds and designated bus drop off zones to enhance safety. Additionally, maintenance staff will start servicing all classroom units, including cleaning and filter replacements during spring break. Custodial teams will conduct a comprehensive deep cleaning across all schools. Trees at the CHS courtyard. Quotes were reviewed for the removal of dead trees and and brush in the rear courtyard at CHS.

Comfort transportation all about the staff and Mr. Daniel. Comfort the rooms at Milan's monitor the board. And all the questions will end up in the master bedroom for our chocolate. For more resources and information, please visit the official website for more info on each of the destinations. There's a funding water park website for more information. That's it for our presentation. I have a question. Thank you. So, I'll call for a motion. I'll make that motion. >> I'll second it.
>> Yeah. So, >> so SE would be responsible. So, cost exceeding 20,000. >> Yeah. >> So, if the roof blows off, >> we're [snorts] in it for 20 all four districts. I mean, Clinton Central's in it for five [cough] and then SE is responsible outside of that. So, building's in really good shape. The 1.2 million basically it needs a whole new HBAC system. Um, I mean, it's working off and on. Um, I don't know. I've never worked in a commercial building yet that I felt like the HVAC ever worked perfectly, but uh, but it's to replace that. Also do some tuck pointing and there was some other kind of like minor repairs just on the building. So, >> it's great. That's been a long process. And I know that we've had >> you guys may remember because I I know Dr. Hannah always references the old Marsh building >> and and it was like round and round and round for years about the old Marsh building and then there was um some conversations I guess maybe maybe just a couple years ago maybe it was right before I got here um about the old core building which was the old Y building and you know and and so um you know I I think the other Dr.
Hearing the recommendation. I'll make a motion to approve the facility request. Second. Any discussion? Hearing none. Mr. Poleszka. Aye. Mr. Music. Aye. Mr. Tenario. Aye. And I vote aye. And with that, Mr. President, I have no more business to come before the board this evening except to remind everyone that our next regularly scheduled monthly meeting is Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 and that meeting will be held at Bailey Elementary School starting at 6:30. Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you. Mr. Poleszka, any parting comments? Yes, I once again want to thank everybody that attended. Uh thank you everybody that watched from home. And once again, congrat- congratulations to our students, our principals, and our teachers, everybody who has supported and helped the the students. We greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much. Thank you, Mr. Music. Uh pretty much what I said earlier. I just want I know we're down to kind of mostly staff and some family members here and things like that, but uh thank you so so for all the hard work you put in for these clubs.
