>> So, the director position is at 145 and the maintenance uh person is at 55. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. We just hadn't had any discussion. >> Okay. >> All right. So, just going through the rest of the the major increases um that we're looking at in the budget. We have $100,000 for the police department and that's to add one more one more officer. We have 300,000 um for the fire department and that's to add four more firefighters. Um when we look at Ashlin Public Schools, this is the 2.75 override is baked into that. >> We have the $396,825 increase in the KEF Tech assessment. Um, how many kids do we have going to to KEFE Tech this upcoming year? >> 17. >> Um, >> 17. >> I think that's 17 more. Is Is it 17 more, Cly, or is it just 17? >> Yeah, I think you're right, Michael.
Ball and a strike. One ball, one strike. Here to Kramer. That's popped up out of play. That's one and two. One and two. Good block by Passalaqua behind the plate. And the count's even at two. Two balls, two strikes. Grumbum fires. That one's in the dirt and it gets by. On his way to third, Cosgrove. Another ball to the backstop. And Holliston is under 90 ft away here with one out. A pass ball there. Full count to Kramer. That's a shot. That's a base hit into right. Kramer will head to second. Turncliff gets it. He throws. And he is out. What a throw from right by Turncliff to nab Kramer at second and this two away. A bit of a groan from the Holliston dugout. They thought he got in there. It was close. But it does go down as an RBI single. Bases are empty.
It does not look transparent and it looks like a path that was being cleared. That timeline raises serious questions this board should answer before any vote is taken. Who decided to open the position? Who decided to make it internal only? Is this common procedure when posting all vacancies? What role, direct or indirect, did Mr. Bixby play in the circumstances that led to this alleged vacancy, this posting, and this outcome? And were any of the people interviewing him, people who worked under his authority as principal? Justin Bixby is not simply the wrong choice. He is the clearest possible example of why your board had to pass this resolution in the first place. This board's own policies and procedures make the problem clear, not weaker. Your agenda state that consent items are for routine matters and may be removed for discussion. This is not routine. A matter involving a city principal, a narrow posting, unanswered ethical questions, and athletes who are afraid to speak should not be treated as ordinary business.
I you know I've seen Jod work. I've I've heard Elizabeth talk. I agree that I'm not interacted that much with her. Um but uh but yeah, whatever the majority thinks, it's fine. >> I don't think we can go wrong with either of the two candidates. >> Yeah, I think they're both Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Any other thoughts from anyone else? >> I agree. I I support either candidate. They're they're both good advocates. >> Um I really trust the wisdom on the sport since I'm new and I'm still getting to know folks. But you were asking about her background. So, I I pulled up her email just cuz if all of us did not receive it, I thought it might be helpful. Oh, >> great. >> Um, she says she's um co-chairing a leading in challenging times workshop this past January. Um, she served on the Hoffman awards committee for the past two years.
Um I feel I have a unique perspective because I am both an educator and the mother of a trans child. Um when my mother when my daughter came out as trans, even though I considered myself open-minded, I initially struggled with biases. Ultimately, I chose to put aside my fears and trust her. Today, she lives her truth and she's the bravest person I know. Kids say terrible things to her at school. And yet, her being able to show up as the one young woman she is is a greater relief than pretending to be the boy that she isn't. After she came out as trans, I knew I needed to do something for my school community. I knew that there were kids just like my daughter at PV, but that didn't have the same support at home that my daughter does. I've had the opportunity to connect with the kids through being a part of our pride club on campus.
We must rise above this as a community and come together to make our district the best in the state. Thank you. >> Thank you. Would anyone else like to address the board? Seeing none. Oh, sorry. Good evening. Is it on? Test one 1212. Good evening. I My name is Diana Farcus. I am a sack counselor at Woodro Wilson Middle School. I would love to invite the board of education um district leaders, staff, families, and community members to our third annual mind music and movement festival being held on May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. It is a celebration centered on wellness, creativity, and connection. This event is designed to bring our school community together through power of music, movement, and mindfulness. Our goal is to create a space where students and families can engage in activities that support mental and emotional well-being, encourage self-expression, and strengthen relationships across our schools.

Uh very critical part of online curriculum resource provided to the curriculum school for sequence for all grades. Uh Google will be attached to the agreement between the textbooks and the Unified School District as recommended. Okay. I will make that a I'll second it. Is there any other question or discussion? You called the question. Any comments? All those in favor say I. I. Motion carries 3-0. Next item is the approval of the agreement designated to renew Mr. President, members of the Board, the Arizona Department of Economic Security works annually with companies around the area to offer students summer jobs and other college and other opportunities. We attached to view it. The mayor was attached. Uh the district's legal representative has a view that attached to view it. For approval, the attached view it to the EIC and I will be listing the recommendations. I'll second Is there any further discussion or questions?
Uh it's pretty fun to watch them. They just made quick work of that. So, if you if you go out there, you'll notice there are two two stumps and no trees. Um, and so um we'll be getting that um project uh started uh next week and look forward to getting that uh going uh for our student athletes. Um [clears throat] the state fire marshall inspection, we had that um the Monday of spring break. Um and I think you guys I think I sent that to you guys. Um just that list and appreciate everybody working through that. It is a team effort on everybody's part. I mean, teachers, principles, um, you know, all of our our directors of our different programs. Um, and and our our fire marshall was, uh, you know, kind. He, you know, overall he's like, "Everything's pretty good." And I was like, "Felt like I had a million things on my list, but you say pretty good." But so, um, but I started taking quite a bit of notes.
I think it might be 17 more >> what we have already. >> Yeah, >> check real quick. >> Now, I had a question from a resident this last week actually about the KEF tech stuff. Um, would there ever be like any limitations that we as a community would put as far as like a max on the number of seats at KEE because because of budgetary reasons? Like is that something that communities can and could do? I'm just asking the question. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Randy, I I don't know the answer to that. Okay. Um, >> it's an interesting question. Like if we only had like our our KEF tech our KEFE tech assessment looks like it's 1.644179. If we had said you know the max we can spend for students at KEE was a million dollars like could we could we limit the number of students as a community that we send to KE?
So, another two run lead for Holliston. It's three to one. Henry Leek will bat and foul it away. Leek's O for two so far. No balls, one strike. Here's the pitch. That's outside. And it's one and one. So, we'll see if they let Grumbum go out for a sixth inning. He's thrown 73 pitches. Here comes the one one. That's outside. It's two and one. So, plenty of time for Ashland to get back in this game. Unfortunate they couldn't get two in that bottom of the fourth. Here comes the two one. That's a strike. And the count's two and two. Two two to Leek. That's a line drive rocketed into the gap in right center field and it's down. And it'll head towards the wall. Turncliff cuts it off. Leek is on his way into second and he's got a two out double. The starting pitcher getting in on the action in the fifth.
Tonight, you have a choice. You can pull this from consent, slow down this process, and require clear answers before attaching your vote to it. Or you can move it forward and teach every athlete watching that fear works, power wins, and ethics only matter when they are convenient. I'm asking you to choose integrity. Do not approve a recommendation surrounded by questions. Do not place your name behind a process that appears predetermined, unethical, and unworthy of public's trust. THANK YOU. [applause] HELLO, MY NAME is Emily Oram and I am a student from New Tech. And so today during lunch I was informed New Techch has a chance of not being able to do sports next year. Uh I I'm not doing this for myself. Next year I will be transferring down to Anderson due to my family all transferring down over here. I am doing this for the students of New Techch because I may have the chance to keep on doing sports, but if we vote that New Tech can't continue doing sports through here, a majority of students within the Anderson area will not be able to do sports through Anderson High School from New Tech.
She recently joined a success committee. Um, she's also leading a team of trustees through the systems thinking leadership course with the California academic partnership program. and she's the incoming uh SEC SBA treasurer. >> So, there's just some data points, but I do definitely lean on you all. Um, and it sounds like we have two excellent >> options. Um, and I do, you know, being new in my in my seat, I I'm biased to people who are passionate and want to do something. So, >> um, I will follow your lead. Okay. on a personal level. Uh Jod and I are are on a committee together. I have to see her next month. Just wanted to put that out there. But and she knows that we're meeting tonight. So I told her that we're our meeting is tonight. But uh but I mean like like I said you know uh in all seriousness I think uh both are very passionate leaders and you know they they bring their own strengths and uh Jod is very seasoned um and and that's before sitting down that was one of the I was leaning towards Jod because she's very seasoned.
They ask for hugs. They share their feelings. I mostly listen. Some people in the community like to throw around words like indoctrination, which is truly the most absurd thing. I have never, nor will I ever try to convince someone to be anything other than who they are. Some kids are still in the process of figuring out their identity. They may be unsure. They may be afraid to share anything with their parents because they know their parents are going to be angry and upset. I simply honor who they are and try to show up as a loving and supportive presence on campus. According to the National School Climate Survey, 71% of trans and gender expansive students felt unsafe at school at some point due to their LGBTQ+ identity. If I can offer space to these students to be who they are, I'm compelled to do so.
The festival will feature interactive experiences, including music, guided mo guided movement, and opportunities for reflection, each aligned with our commitment to supporting the whole child. We would be honored to have the board and members of our community join us for this meaningful event. as we continue building a culture that prioritizes mental health, belonging, and student voice. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you there. >> Thank you so much. Would anyone else like to see um adjust the board? Seeing none. Oh, here we go. Okay. Good evening, Dr. Robert Toy, President Bassford, the board of education. My name is Erin Teen. I am a kindergarten teacher at school, too. Um, first I'd like to begin by thanking Dr. Robert Osie for coming to read to my class a few weeks ago for ReadAcross America Week. Um, we appreciate you taking the time out of your day and sharing a love of reading with some of Clifton's youngest learners.

All those in favor signify by aye. Aye. Motion carried 3-0. I make a motion to approve the resolution I'll second. All those in favor signify by aye. Aye. Motion carried 3-0.
I think I was five pages of notes in. And um I think because I was taking five pages of notes um in my book, he he didn't put everything on the report, which I was like, "Okay, great." Uh but just a lot of thing and a lot of them are repeats, you know what I mean? Just kind of the same issue over and over. And um and so we're taking a taking a look like, you know, for example, uh any door that's got an electrical panel behind it is supposed to be identified as there's an electrical panel behind that door, right? Well, that's like 50 doors or something. You know what I mean? So, it's just it's the same repeat issue over and over. Or an extension cord. I was guilty in my office. There was an extension cord that went to the table because there's plugins in that conference room table.
It's more of a question. >> That that's an interesting question. Um I and I don't know the answer to it right now. >> Okay. All right. >> I can I can uh reach out to Superintendent Evans and ask. >> I I know that we actually I think there were like 40 applicants if I'm just trying to remember it but I think there was 40 applicants but we only had 17 slots available >> additional slots. >> Yeah. >> Total. >> Yeah. for the year, the incoming year because recent legislation, right, has made it so that the uh vocational schools have to um they have to award seating to towns >> based on population. I believe >> it's like a poor I think it's a portionment is trying to call. >> I think it was to try to even the playing field for some students who were trying to >> Yeah.
A two out two bagger. And with two down and a runner in scoring position, it's Gavin Salmon. Two singles. So far for Salmon. He's also scored. Swing and a miss. Good first pitch from Grumbum. But important to get this out here. Keep it a two run game. Clockers only have nine outs to work with. O1. Swing and a miss. Good first couple pitches from Grumbum. Nothing in two here on Salmon. He'll take his time. Nothing in two from Grumbum. And Leek leading off second. That's a pop up and it'll head out of play. And we'll do it again. Nothing in two once more. That's a line drive into right field. That is down for a base hit. Leek is on his way around third. Salmon's going to try for two. The throw is cut off. He's got his third hit this afternoon and it's four to one Panthers.
I just want to say I during my time here doing sports, I had a blast. [clears throat] It was a time for us to remember. I did swim. I also did band. And I plan on doing tennis and volleyball next year. And it is one of the best things a student can do is sports. It's healthy. It shows us how people can really be once you are vulnerable. And it shows like what to do in the future. Sports is one way people can go. It earns scholarships. It shows us how to react with in stressful situations. And as a student of new tech, I want to say every new tech kid should have the chance of doing this. It's literally the best thing ever. Back when I did band, we were unfortunately cut off this year from doing band due to a very uh moving away.
