Is that what you're trying to do? >> I No, I was just trying to pull up the uh the sheet. >> Oh, okay. Katherine says she's going to try to share her screen. >> Okay. And uh while I'm pulling it up, is Steph still there? Stephanie, you're still there? >> Oh, yeah. Stephanie, maybe you could get up and just go through the totals um for each of the enterprise funds while I pull up the detail. >> Do you guys have the um the kind of total spreadsheet? All right. Um so FY27 for the water enterprise um we have a small change on that of 17,749. Um we are kind of seeing a decrease in some of the revenues. Um so we have accounted for that. Um but we are accounting for that as well as um using the retained earnings so that we are not raising rates this year.
Do they have one more mini comeback in them? As we'll see Bradica, Schreiber, and McCoin. It's a good part of the lineup. >> It is a good part of the lineup. We'll see who Looks like they're going to send Rebello back out to the mound. He's pitched one and a third. Given two hits. No runs. No strikeouts yet for him. Bradica two for three. Double. Run batted in. Curious to see what his average is up to now. It's probably pretty good. Looks like it'd be up around 700. 700. Leader in the Tri-Valley League. >> Is that UMass Dartmouth? Believe so, yeah. UMass Dartmouth. Congratulations to him. If any of these batters were to reach Jake Lemay, who's had a great afternoon, three RBIs, he would be the fourth man to hit. Here comes Bradica. Think he could easily get a hit off Rebello here. Love to be right there.
Uh, second, I would like to thank you guys for hiring the bus driver. Uh, this has been something I've brought up a couple times that we don't have bus drivers for our sports and we're driving multiple vans for multiple sports events. I've driven for cheer and volleyball and softball and so hopefully the bus driver if we can find more that can help alleviate a lot of sports shortcomings for getting their athletes to their programs. Um, and then last, I would like to just point out, you know, the board is paying for West Valley's football camp this year. Um, please go look at Anderson's football field. It's a health and safety issue. >> Thank [clears throat] you. >> Thank you. [applause] >> Anybody would like to speak on a different subject other than we finish the time period on.
Um we're going to save about $803,000 just by going out to bid. Um I can't say enough about how much Alejandro, our our warehouse manager for food, has done such an amazing job just working with the vendors and working on where can I get the best prices and where can I make sure that they have that volume that we need. We don't ever need two boxes of something, we need four pallets of those things. And Alejandro's done an amazing job. Our inventory's at the lowest I've ever seen them. We don't run out of product at the school sites. Um so, yeah, I'm I'm super excited. Um really quick, in 2024-25 the cost of a meal was $2.45. Um I thought them that it was going to go up this year. Um luckily, Alejandro's been amazing and and saved us an awful lot of money cuz we started being proactive early in the year.
Um the fact is with or without this policy the administration has to follow the law. So my directive to administration would be that we follow the law. um this policy is aligned with the law. Um so I would recommend passing it but if it was not passed we would still implement it. >> Right. And you see because honestly with this policy I have I don't agree I don't disagree with 100% of it. There's no like amending it or is there any kind of point of amending it going back to committee kind of things >> there. Listen there are some problematic areas. There are some areas that people are uncomfortable with. there are some areas that um people simply disagree with. Um but and I might ask ask our board attorney to to give some input. My understanding is that this this policy falls directly in line with what the law is and what the law requires.
Um, all of our administrators, um, our technology team, everybody took a look at that. Um, my elementary administrators have been yelling at me for like two months. When are you going to get this thing? Like, let's go. Um, and so, but it literally takes the place of all those things. You can do the newsletters. I can send out my twohour delay, you know, thing. I And I can do it from an app. Right now, when I'm out driving roads in the winter, I have to pull over, turn my hotspot on my phone, get my laptop out, send the message out. Like, it's pretty wonky. Um, but they also have built-in newsletters. You can do the you can actually literally on the app, if I'm a coach, I can message my kid through the apps that they can message right back and it stays within the app.
Um, do you want me to go through total of them or do you want to touch on each one one at a time? >> Well, it probably be a little bit better understanding for the folks that are out there that don't know what's what's going on. Probably be better to do it that way. >> Okay. And I've got the detail up here, too, Steph, if you uh if you need some support. But you're you're doing well. Um, so detail on the water uh revenue in FY25, you can see the water permits were pretty high. Um, we had a new development and Michael, you might be able to answer exactly which development that was because I'm still learning all of them. Um, but we had a new development come online which increased um, how many permits we received in FY25. Um so those accounted for a big chunk of why we had a surplus in FY25.
As Rebello will deliver the first pitch of the inning. It's ball one. If I was Rebello, I'd probably be a little bit weary and pitch around Bradica here. You don't want to give him anything in the heart of the plate. Rather walk him than give up an extra base hit. 1-0. Ground ball second base. Baker is there for it. And two pitches and one out. All right. Now Schreiber up to bat. Michael Schreiber. He's one for one. He's been hit twice. The Clockers have been very prone to be hit so far this season. And Schreiber the next victim of that. So, he's reached base all three times. Love to reach base here. And that one up and in there. 1-0. Need all the base runners they can get. Down to their final two outs. It's the 1-0. That's a shot in the left field. Kramer is going to be there for it.
Hearing none, we will move on to the set item. >> Mr. Gibson, I want to point out one thing. Since we only had three people tonight, we double checked ED code. Schoolboard boards have to have a majority of the [clears throat] total panel. So, Anthony voting has to be 3 to pass. If it's a 2-1, it's like no actions taken, doesn't pass, doesn't fail, and no action taken. So if there are any two-1 votes, yay or nay, um we will simply put it on the next month agenda. But we talked about that before was we heard it was the majority. >> It's majority for some boards but not for educational boards. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay. Consent items. We got six consent items. Would anybody like to pull a consent item off the agenda? >> I'd like to pull 5.2, please. >> 5.2. Are there any other consent items?
Um the price came down to $2.38 a meal and with all the projections, if we do indeed save $803,000, um, the cost of a meal come back down to about $1.97. Um, that'll put our food cost back where they were before COVID. So, um, that's super awesome. Um, never thought we were going to get back there, but we're we're slowly creeping back down and and um, we'll finally get back into putting money back in the bank. >> More of a comment, but I don't know how you did that. From somebody who grocery shops and compares prices from this year to last year, it seems like a pure miracle, really. >> Well, it is, but if you look at it like a couple of the things like milk was our one of our big savings. We saved like $161,000 on milk. Um, and then it also gets shipped straight to the school site.
So what discretion you have in this policy, I'm not sure there's much discretion, but I don't want to put you on the spot. Um De um I'm sorry I did not introduce everyone into the public. This is our attorney of the night, uh, Diana Dori, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Yes. Um, yeah. So, the policy as it's written and and on the agenda to be adopted is consistent with the law of the state of New Jersey with regard to all the elements of it. So, um, the the district is required to follow the law. This policy, as Dr. Roberto said, just simply reiterates that. Mhm. >> I I have a question to um to the attorney. We we um swear um we take an oath to uphold the constitution of the state of New Jersey. If we do not follow the law, are we in violation as board members for not following through with this policy because it's a mandated policy with the state?
um and talk about obviously just you know um want to minimize um you know concerns, liabilities for our coaches and things like that. You know we always talk about don't share your personal phones just now we can just do that right through that app. Um and so [clears throat] I mean that that takes place of a lot of those things. Um the um there was some there was some specific pieces the building administrators liked. I don't know if Sam if you remember off the top of your head there was I mean I know the privacy the privacy piece >> phone number privatizes the phone number and does either a fourdigit code or a whole new numbers I don't know >> that's the biggest >> so you're not sharing your personal numbers out you know just last week we had a big issue with an email which um got everybody's contacts and and things like that.
Um but for the most part we are seeing that our revenue is um as we predict hitting um our expenses are hitting what our revenues are. >> Um let me ask a quick question on that. So do we do we see I know we're expecting development coming coming into Ashland. So like from a timing perspective, when would we see like if if there are like say say 10 to 60 Main Street as an option? So when they go to um pull a B building permit, they also pull a water permit or is that like what and and would that be part of this at what point? Like what? Yeah. >> And as Claudia said, when do we get the money? Um, >> just to kind of understand what the timing looks like. >> Yeah, Doug might be a little bit better um to answer that question, but my understanding is when they go to connect to it.
And it's two away. Good piece of hitting from Schreiber. But he hit it right at the left fielder, Kramer. They're down to their final out. In the form of Ian McCoin. He's 0 for 1. He's walked twice. Drove home a run on an bases loaded walk. First pitch. That's a strike. Feel like I've been bad luck for the Clockers. They're 3 and 0 on the road when I'm not commentating and they're 0 about to be 0 and 2 when I'm on the mic. Don't say that. 0-1. That's upstairs. >> Game's not over yet. Game's not over yet. We'll see. They need a miracle. One and one to McCoin. Sophomore. Ground ball second base. Baker will make the play. Throw to first. And the game is over. All right. Well, thanks for having me, Jacob. >> Oh, I appreciate you coming on, Pelletier, joining us. Clockers will lose this one 7-5.
Can I get a motion to approve the other five? >> So move second. >> There's a second to approve 51, 53, 54, 55, and 56. All those in favor? >> I unanimous. Okay. Going back to 5.2, the human resources report. Any particular part of that report you would like to pull? Uh, yeah. I'd like to vote on Mr. Dixie separately. >> Pardon me. >> I'd like to vote on Mr. Dixie's position separately. >> That separately? >> Yep. >> So, >> what would you like? >> I'd like to make a motion to deny it. >> I think we need I think we need a motion to pull it, too. [clears throat] >> Then I just pull it. >> Make a motion to pull it. See if the second pull. to to vote on it separately. You need >> Yes. Before you vote, so you'll be made a motion to pull it from the consent agend discussion.
So, now it's one company does two things, produce and milk for us. So, a lot of savings down at the district office, less paperwork, um, less paperwork for the for the site managers to take care of and check all the things off. So, it comes in one delivery. So, a lot of a lot of benefits and positives that they're going to come from it. >> And I just want to pipe in that Vincent his team have done an amazing job with keeping food costs down when we know, as we all see, that they're not down. Um, and Alejandro in the warehouse for sure, um, making sure that we're rotating inventory, we're using, um, the oldest inventory and that we're always serving the freshest products to our kids. So, it's a big feat to go out forbid. I know when he said he was going to do it, I was a little leery.
>> In in what way? What? I'm just trying to understand the question. If this policy goes down and we don't implement it, can we be um held liable as not doing our our job as commissioners of the board of education? We we swear that we're going to uphold the law of the constitution. This came this mandate came down from the state of New Jersey. So basically, we have to we have to honor the law. Correct. >> Correct. Yeah. Okay. >> All right. That's the only one to know. Sorry. >> Mr. Bronzak. Commissioner Brazak. Thank you, President Bassford. Last meeting, Miss Miller said that this was not a mandatory policy, but if we do have this policy, this is one of those Strauss estimate things. If we do have this policy, this portion of it is mandatory. That that's what I recall hearing at last meeting.
So again, it it helps us on the cyber security piece a little bit too. Um you know um but also um you know the classroom newsletters and the school newsletters and and again it's all just coming from one place. It's it's one platform. So um if if I'm the parent I know that 99% of my communication is going to come from there. Obviously, if I, you know, um, if if I, if I need something from a grade, it's going to come from obviously SIS, right? From from a student's grade, thing like that. But I know even parent square and harmony already talk. I know Sam's already had that conversation with both of those entities. And so, they already talk. So, you can literally populate like in Parent Square. And feel free to jump in, Sam, if I misspe here. You can populate like the the freshman class and it pulls it from Harmony to Parent Square and you can just send the message through Parent Square to like all the freshman parents for example or all your senior parents and and so they talk.
>> Um, so if they haven't started any construction yet, then it wouldn't be until they they start to connect to our services that we would charge the permit fee. >> Okay. Does it depend upon the number of units that's being built? >> Your mic's not on, Mike. >> I'm sorry, Joe. >> I get to do that. >> Does it depend upon the number of units that's being built or is it just that one building project itself? Are you just paying for that one tiein or is it 250? >> I believe it's per unit. Yes, because that's why you're seeing such a a large um permit revenue in FY25 because there was it's a multi-unit that came online. >> Was that Asher? >> The Asher >> is the Asher. >> Yes. >> Okay. I was gonna say I'm not up to speed on all of them yet.
They'll drop to 3 and 2 on the season. And a good action-packed game. We thank you for joining us on WACA TV. Jacob Adoula. Um Bryce Pelletier. Co-host Bryce Pelletier. And we'll see you next time. I think Bryce was just asking straight questions. He's like I'm a guest announcer. Hey guys, I'm Bryce Pelletier. Bradica.
