Just because I know you have a construction engineer architectural budget. >> Yeah. We don't always use like the example being with the design work we did for the athletic but that was That was very small compared to 50k. We don't have 50k to use for this for next year. So it would have to come out of new new capital request. >> Um >> so one more question on it. The loading dock that we have now was it probably come out from the high school. I'll just say 15 feet or something. >> Maybe 15 or 20 >> 20T 20T. Um, and you're talking about extending it out further to which would effectively block off that correct driveway there. >> Correct. >> So, what is the what is the benefit of extending the loading dock out there? >> It allows us future opportunity to put refrigeration, freezers and refrigeration outside on the loading dock because we have no room in the school.
I guess the big thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I think we kind of wrapped everything up. I mean, is there anything else on there? Nope. No? Um Well, yeah. I'm excited for Market Day. I hope y'all are excited for Market Day. Bring money. There's going to be a lot of food. >> April 23rd. Yeah, April 23rd. Bring a lot of money. I'm pretty sure they'll have Venmo and like Apple Pay and stuff, but still I would yeah, cash is probably going to be your best best option. Um Yeah, guys, make sure you come to uh Market Day. And make sure you bring cash cuz some people I've heard that don't accept like uh PayPal or Cash App or anything. They just accept cash. So, make sure you bring some of that, too. >> Yeah. All right. Peace out. Have a good day. See you.
Um I view the building official having more of a principled interpretation of the code, and I'm kind of approaching it from what I believe is a more pragmatic interpretation of the building code. Um so, in the in getting to the demonstrating equivalent or better, um I when I originally submitted these plans on the on October 30th, um they were not stamped by Mr. Earnsdorfer Earnsdorfer. Um and there was some concern that these attachment bolts might be a little bit of a unique challenge. So, as an extra precaution, I specified um four additional uh steel posts on footings, which will bear the brunt of the weight of the structure. Uh I don't know if you guys have a set of plans in front of you. That's on the sheet uh A2.01 foundation plan. Um Yeah, so that I mean, that combination with these attachment bolts, which have been like they said, independently tested by this this IAC or I IES laboratory, which is the age- like you said, is the agency that does all the ICC testing.
They represent the entire state of Indiana earning the right to wear the prestigious number one jersey for the Indiana All-Star um classic against Kentucky. Um tonight we are obviously incredibly proud to recognize our very own Grayson Gilliard as 2026 2026 Miss Basketball. Um Grayson's senior season was nothing short of historic. We went through several of those things um with her team and her teammates went 29 and 0 undefeated. Obviously class 4A state champs. Um as previous people were recognized, she has so many more honors that we can touch on just a few. Um she was also 2026 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year. Um IHSAA for or sorry, IBCA first team All-State selection. Um a two-time Johnson County Player of the Year and um maybe one of my favorites and probably Miss McMahon's favorites, first team Academic All-State. So, well rounded. Um shows it through all those, many more that are there.
[clears throat] 20 to 34 what we call family formation ages. 80% of all births occur to women between the ages of 20 and 34 years old. Okay? You can have a total fertility rate of nine. If you don't have women between 20 and 34 years old, you're not going to have any births. Okay? 35 to 59 or 54 I should say. Those are the ages where most people have kids in school. Okay. So we have currently board meetings. Most of them are going to be in these age brackets right here. Now there are exceptions. I was alone. I was first time father of four. I was [clears throat] 58 when my son graduated high school. And everybody told me what a nice well behaved grandson I have. [laughter] [clears throat] Now this is where it gets tricky. 59 or 55, excuse me, to 69 referred [clears throat] to as the empty nest households.
It goes almost exactly the same way it went last time. >> Yeah. Uh trying to pull it and and that was kicked out of bounds off of Dedham from what I saw so Ashland will maintain the ball both times. They've they've gotten possession after the the draw although it hasn't quite been clean. That pass batted down and >> races for Dedham. Brooke Morano with the steal over there taking the ball up. See number six uh Ava Landry and that junior. Dedham trying to get their first shot off. See if they can get something going here for themselves. That's That's good defense Yeah, by Laney and uh Tripp. So both Arminians. Deep throw. Erin's got some space over there. Looks like Liv's going to be able to collect that. Good work. Lilly Vitti, one of our seniors, thinking of going to San Diego State next year.
I could be wrong. Probably am. O'Connor turn around goes into the middle. Good job by the Spartans to stop getting a shot and knock Whitwer off. Mac Whitwer almost gets gets a check. O'Connor will get herself another 8-meter attempt this time on the other side, the other hash mark. O'Connor looking to wind up and take a shot. O'Connor turns around and goes low far post and O'Connor gets first off a a goal. I'm way off. That's Caitlyn Loos. Sorry if I messed up your highlight reel somebody calling the wrong name. Caitlyn Loos with that goal. Minnechaug up four to one. 9:44 to left to go in the first half. Pellegrino on the draw. Ball's Ball's knocked away. Still on the ground. Could be there for a second. Somebody kicks it away. Good job by Hannah Eddy to come up with that strong control on the defensive side.
Cheshure High School students continue to serve their community. And I know Whitney touched upon it already, but we'll talk about it again. So on on Monday and up and up through the week, we have had our peer advocates and our link crew members running tours for eighth grade students from DOD. It's a great day. They get to come and see what Cheshire High School looks like on a regular school day and experience the passing period. Uh, I hope our tour guides told us told you guys what side of the hallway to walk on because I know that's something all kids complain about when we get incoming freshmen. But in addition to that, we had on Tuesday Cheshire High School students went and visited Chapman Elementary School as a part of our community building initiative. Uh, I've been lucky enough to help oversee it and I've been really, really impressed with all the students that participated.
So, if if uh she needs right now she's tight the food service is tight for refrigeration and freezer space. They're actually we have to my crew has to actually transport food from Highland to the high school daily because they don't have enough storage location. So instead of trying to renovate the interior of the building, you put them outside. You use outside units and then they would go on that loading dock. So it would serve as a you know place to store those or to put those and then plus the loading dock itself. Make it a little bigger. >> Okay. So I know we do that. I think Dodd has it outside. I don't know if any other schools do. Um, technically Dodd's the only one that has an outside one. >> So, and you may not be able to answer this question. I don't know if you would have any idea, but pro from a programming perspective.
Um and my Okay. My objection to that to that uh the level of documentation they were asking for is I have never seen I mean, there's been lots of certifications for building hardware for any any number of things, but I've never seen a request for a site-specific certification for building hardware, and that's basically what the building official first asked me for here. Um and so, I I I believe that the the the given the huge safety factors in the design, I mean, the uh I mean, the the the largest point load on the structure is like four is it's got like a like a safety factor of four to one um from the rated test data. Um and if you go in by failure strength, it's it's And there's actually a a load table on page um 2.01, and it is just static loads, and I mean, I do acknowledge that.
Statistically, she set the standard with elite performance averaging 23 points, over four rebounds, and approximately three steals per game while shooting over 50% from the field. Um against the state's best competition night in and night out. Um All of this is great, but what makes Grayson truly special um is she's the perfect representative of this award, but more than that, um it goes beyond her stats and her and her accolades. Um She embodies every trait we aspire to see in a student athlete. Um she's obviously a gifted winner, gifted leader. Um but she shows it with humility, grace, and the character that we would expect and hope for. Um and that's what truly sets her apart. Um all of this led to her being chosen by the Indiana coaches and media for this award. Um She's a measure measure of success and the gold standard for our for this prestigious honor.
We've had the Smith family lived down the same house for the last 20 years. But 10 years ago, there was mom, dad, and two kids there. But in that last decade, the two kids have grown up, moved away, gone to college, and hadn't [clears throat] come back. same house, same homeowner, but instead of four persons per household, only two. And that's been a dominant trending trend track not only here in Decal County, but all over the nation for the last 15 years. [snorts] It's a drop in household size, the number of empty nesters, 70 and over, that's called the turnover ages. Now elderly migration is broke into two categories. You have people in their 60s generally and then over 70. In the 60s those are the ones you always hear about in the news. You know husband, wife, retire, sell their house, move to Alabama, Florida, Texas, Myrtle Beach, wherever they want to know [clears throat] and you know live the retirement life.
She is future Aztec. Yep. Good job by Erin Hickey getting it into the offensive zone after that collection and now they can try to set up their offense a little bit. That's Trip on top to Marseglia. Little bobble, but collects it back. Lilly Vitti now setting up behind the net. Out on the elbow to Maggie McGinnis who's going to try to take it into the middle. She hits >> pass. I just dropped it though, unfortunately. Yeah, looked like they had a connection there, but didn't didn't quite come to fruition. Maddy Chew up the field for Dedham to Lucy Blaney. And once again, Dedham is going to try to get their offense started. Couple times in the offensive zone, but haven't been able to generate any scoring chances or shots for that matter. Partly due to the Acton defense, although right there >> Right there. there is a goal.
Hannah Eddy going in and out of the defenders. Good job by Eddy. She kicks the ball up to McKenney. McKenney looking to set up the offense. She takes it in. Looking get the ball over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino over to Mac Whitwer getting face guarded. Looks like O'Connor marking up uh Mac Whitwer. Nice feed by Pel uh Pellegrino gets the ball over to Mac Whitwer and the ball's knocked loose. Mac Whitwer comes up with it. Knocks the ball attempt Minnechaug temporarily come up with it. Mac Whitwer knocks it out and now Mac's behind the X. And the Spartans get called for an illegal screen. And the Spartans are just Seems like every offensive possession either throwing the ball away or just not good plays to turn the ball over. Pellegrino chasing down Stackowitz. Stackowitz kicks the ball over to Lee. Lee to Kozub. Over to Taylor.
We actually have two of them here with us tonight, Levven and uh, uh, Piper. They've all done a great job and I've been really impressed with the way the students have gone about not just learning our themes, share a smile, be aware and get involved, but also the the energy and enthusiasm that they've approach approached the initiative with and the the great work that they've been doing. >> Uh Brit students will be hosting the British Literature's annual fair which will be on May 21st from 9:30 to 1:15 in the library at CHS. All year, senior students in this class have been working hard to make sure the fair is both informative and creative and fun. Um, each participant will be dressed and fully immersed in this event. We hope you can all make it. And if all these spring events weren't exciting enough for CHS students, the CT SAT school day was today for all grade 11 students.
High school is not a peak population right now. >> No, >> it was before. So, and I don't know when. I'm probably I'll guess like 10 years ago or something. It goes a little little farther than well >> the school the school >> 2010 there was like 2005 to 20 2010 I think was >> 05 06 was I think the peak for the school system but I don't know when it hit the high school maybe five years later or something. >> Anyway, my what I'm just wondering is if we had a peak back then we have fewer kids now. That's what why do we need more refrigeration now? >> Because your menu's changed >> substantially. >> Yeah. there there's so many more options for the kids. >> They have they have several different lines with different options for them. It's not everybody's getting the same meal every day, >> right?
And [snorts] one of the benefit benefits of this being a pre-built structure, having having not done the permitting process properly, is you're actually able to measure And And by the design of the structure having three points of contact, I mean, you can actually measure the loads with the load cell, and that's what we did in in doing this. Excuse me one more time. I'm sorry. I I didn't catch who you are, exactly. >> homeowner. You're the I'm the homeowner. I'm the Oh, you're the homeowner. Homeowner, builder, contractor, designer, whole whole works. Okay. >> Except for David, who who didn't who who stamped the drawings. Thank you. Sorry. Yeah. Um Yeah, so I mean, based on the fact that this hardware is rated for at least a 4:1 safety factor in the worst case scenario, um and the the presence of the post which back that up even more, I mean, I think I think we're well within any kind of margin of safety.
She's represents the magnitude of this award, not just through those accolades, but through the class she displays both as a player and as a person. And I know her teammates, um us coaches, couldn't be more proud of her and maybe even more happy for her and know that she deserves it and she would be the first to put it back on their shoulders uh she couldn't be here without them. So, obviously all of that and all of our team success was led by Grayson, but led by her teammates and we're just super excited that she can represent the state of Indiana, Center Grove community, and our girls basketball program as Miss Basketball. So, congrats to Grayson. Just one um quick thing on Grayson, it was so funny. Well, she's from Munster originally, which is where my husband grew up. So, we we like to give a hard time to the former to the coach that used to be there and the principal.
Very well known. The problem is it's only about 15% of elderly migration. Um it's also called voluntary elderly migration. They're voluntarily moving because they wanted to. Over 70 is what we call involuntary migration. It's not so much triggered by retirement [clears throat] but either the death of one of the spouses or they both lose the ability to drive. Okay? They have to downsize. They can't maintain that house. Okay? And you're going to see particularly here with the population distribution, you're going to see an increasing number of elderly homeowners in their 70s and 80s. The peak, the baby is 70 years. The front end is 80. Go forward 10 years. That means the peak will be 80. The front end will be 90. The primary will be out of homes by that. So as this large bubbles, [clears throat] you know, five years pass, they're now in their 60s, they're late 60s, this is now early7s, you can see what's coming.
Goal by number six, Ava Landry. I think she to me seems like one of their top players over there, very aggressive junior. I think uh striker offense, not a middie. Yep, she she curled around the net, she got a got a good low shot off. Uh able to put it behind Alana and we are tied at one to one with four and a half minutes left to go in quarter number one. Again, McGinnis taking the draw. We got Trip, got Blaney, and then on the Dedham side, number eight Ruby, number four, Kelsey Murphy, and number What is that? Seven? It's self draw control for Maggie McGinnis. >> Self draw control for Maggie McGinnis. There she was able to put it up and grab it herself. And now she works it into the offensive zone trying to get behind the net, but good defensive pressure there by Mary Kate Cronin.
