Taylor to O'Connor. Sergentko with the ball. O'Connor. Taylor. Back over to Now Taylor has it. Taylor to O'Connor. Over Sergentko. Sergentko goes through the Spartans. Mac Whitwer Mac Whitwer getting I think it was Mac getting hit with a check over the head. And now Sergentko will be looking to get herself an 8-meter attempt. Nice save by the by the goalie. Mac Whitwer comes up with it. Mac Whitwer is going to be met by five girls and Yeah, who didn't see that one coming? She's going in and out of them. Six girls on Mac Whitwer and she goes through it all. Sabina McKenney with the ball. She goes in loses it temporarily. McKenney goes around the corner. Gets the ball over to Crimmins. And hey. It'll be nice to Spartans get hit with the uh over the head call on Sabina McKenney. Gets the ball over to Pellegrino.
Um, and judors will be continuing the second half of the state testing on Tuesday, April 21st when they take the CT NGSS assessment. And that's all we have for you today. Thank you for having us and we hope you have a great night. >> Thank you for your report.
It's not pizza and sloppy joe's like when we went to >> No, I don't know. And I'm sure this salad bar, there's a cold cut thing. >> The healthy food certification. So, a lot of those are refrigerated items or the local foods grant that um that Erica won. I think it was 50K this past year. like all of those require refrigeration. So yeah, the needs have changed and >> food service is much more complicated. >> No. Yeah, I'm not I'm not disagreeing. I was just curious like because I think other people wonder about this. >> I think conversely there's economy in purchasing food stocks in bulk >> as well. So if you >> if you're having it shipped every week, there's you know there's a cost to that. If she can store on site and ship monthly, that's a big savings. And I think this this also parlays into like your team is currently transporting Highland and it's your grounds team, right?
Um and the other big concern I have with uh the process here is through through up for ever since the second stamp submission from uh from that David stamped, the building department has maintained that this design does not allow for dynamic and independent movement of the trees and the structure. And they actually just restated that again in the basis for the requirement um paragraph in that. That's entirely false. I mean, it said on the plans three different versions of the plans that were submitted in six different locations on those plans, this is a dynamic structure. It has provisions for movement um plus 2 in in every direction. Um so, I don't know I don't I don't know how how we we argue about just definitional differences of what like a static and dynamic uh movement is. Um and I actually brought one just so we're having the context of what we're talking about here.
But it was probably 3/4 of the way through the season and watching the basketball game and it was a tough one and she was triple-teamed, getting beat up. I think I was coming out of my skin with the refs. I'm not sure. And her composure, I said to my husband, "I have never in 25 years of education seen a student-athlete maintain their composure as well as she did in heated moments, in tense game situations, all the while holding herself like you could see sometimes she'd get frustrated herself but then turn it around. Um never frustrated at her teammates and you could see how you guys just kind of lifted each other up and when I announced that um she was Miss Basketball, I went to go find her in her star classroom and if this doesn't embody Grayson, uh I walk into her star classroom and she is sitting with her best buddy from the Best Buddies Club talking and he's like talking all about the game and is so excited and talking about her win and is so excited, um which I think just embodies the person who she is.
Okay, that's why if you look at the forecast and enrollment, you start seeing a break in the trend to start coming back up after 2030. They're going to have to move or you're going to wind up a whole bunch of empty housing units around the district one way or the other. And that's going to allow a new young household to move in. And again, that would be existing home sales versus new home construction. You're and you're already starting to see a bit of a glut in homes on the market because they always stopped moving during [clears throat] CO never picked back up. But now they're they're starting to get into their 70s and greater and greater numbers. They have to be [snorts] what's holding them back. And we just never build any older housing in this country. It's just horrible what we what we've done with this.
But Maggie is comfortable with the ball and she'll not mind having a little defensive pressure. That's Ooh. >> Pass into the middle. >> Yeah, Trip to Vitti. Second time this. Yeah. Helps when the the recipient there is a tall target. That pass went over the defender. Lilly was able to grab it >> Yeah. put it behind the goalie, so uh you can't teach height. >> No, you cannot. Height, athleticism, and just I think good um collaboration between both of them, so you got uh Trip one Trip has graduated. Vitti's graduating and uh the other Trip will be uh graduating next year. So, you got McGinnis and can't tell who's taking the draw on Denim, number seven, Mary Kate Cronin. That one Denim comes away with. How's the Murphy? Yeah. Ooh. And ball down. Denim's able to re- collect in the corner. Good pressure by Kendall Westhill and making it a little bit harder on the defenders, but Denim now seems to have their spacing adjusted.
Pellegrino goes in and out. Loses the ball. Minnechaug comes up with it. As Stackowitz brings the ball over the straining line. Gets the ball over Kozub. Good job by Kylie Marino to get it checked away and the Spartans come up with it. They knock Kozub knocks the ball out of the goalie's hands. Can't do that in the circle. And Kylie Marino gets the ball still comes up with it. Way to stay with it. Kylie Marino screaming down the line. Kylie Marino gets the ball over the restraining line. Throws the ball over. Can't get handled. And once again Minnechaug comes up with it. And Minnechaug looking to get the ball over the straining line set up their offense. If I'm the East Longmeadow midfielders, I'm to be starting to get upset. They're doing a lot of sprinting, running 60 yards only to turn around and sprint back 80 yards the other way.
Uh are there any questions or comments for Maddie and or andor Connor? Um, yeah. I just want to acknowledge Maddie for the incredible job she did in Pippen and um, YEAH, >> and the rest of the cast and crew with you. They were remarkable. It was like going to Broadway. So, thank you. And the teachers and the directors um, and the orchestra and everyone who put that together. I also had the pleasure of seeing Suzaku at Dodd. And again, great job um at Dodd. And today was the spring concerts tonight at Dodd. Again, a nice job. So, thank you for the students and all the work that you put into those extracurricular activities. >> Thank you so much. >> Yeah, I was going to mention that, too. Um I thought you did a terrific job, Matt. >> Thank you. >> And everybody did, actually. It was It was a good show.
>> I have one full-time person that's just handles supporting food service >> and so we weren't approved for an additional grounds person. Yes. >> Going into moving with Barnum and so the the impact is that we're having people do this transport work. We have more acreage and >> you have to take a grounds person and they're delivering food. crowns person is also we'd also they also serve as a courier service. So that's that's always been >> Yeah. So I >> So it's not I just don't have guys out there cutting grass. >> Yep. Yeah. >> We do they move furniture. They they do a whole slew of different >> courier service food delivery. >> But I think like also thinking about the economy when people are thinking, oh there's there's three grounds guys that are like cutting grass and that's all they're doing and this can support our growing our footprint.
I have the attached hardware which is also referred to as in the second bullet point of sentence one basis requirement was referred to as a standard lag bolt, which is that is definitely not a standard lag bolt. Um and so, that's a piece of hardware. I mean, you don't have to be an engineer engineer to see that that's rated to hold more than 2,000 lb. Is that the tab that you propose to use in the building? Those those are in there now cuz it's a built it's a built structure. >> Is it a standard or heavy duty tab? Uh this this company makes a standard and a heavy duty line. This is a standard one. Um there are other um other manufacturers who make make these things as well. I believe there's a manufacturer out of Pennsylvania that does their and these guys the standard version of theirs is more robust and more expensive than the standard version of anyone else.
Um you know, so we're very proud of all of you, proud of Grayson, proud of coach, and proud of our athletic department. It's a good day to BE A TROJAN. IN CASE YOU WONDERED. THAT'S WHAT YOU KNOW, when we won the county, that was a good year. Hey Mrs. McMahon, before you sit down, I wanted to tell you that Mrs. Conrad and I were doing some research. We found that there are only 15 schools in Indiana that have a Mr. and Miss Basketball and we believe we're the only school in Indiana that has a Mr. Football, Mr. Basketball, and a Miss Basketball. So, great great news and Yeah. Yeah, Mr. Track and Field and Mr. Cross Country. So. Yeah. Sounds like It sounds like we need some more wall space for some more Okay. Uh very exciting. Next is reports. And we have Mr. Alexander.
It's just none. You know, we did it all for retirees and you know, Myrtle Beach and Florida and all that, but we didn't know. Most of these people will move no more than 50 miles. They want to stay in their community and we [clears throat] just never build it. So, that's what's coming. The other thing here is in Auburn, Dal County is actually pretty >> [clears throat] >> As external counties go, you've actually got more women than crime and childare need. Your preschool deficit is relatively small. But if you if you didn't have anybody move in, you left your own demographic devices. You're about 40 students short every year for kindergarten. You need about 60 households to move in with kids to make up for that deficit. Uh other school districts far far greater than that. And there's a there's a slide or a pyramid for each one of the uh schools, but and they're in your report.
Cut right into the middle there. Um but taken away by Ashley Forest there with a caused turnover there, so uh what we're we're seeing is pretty evenly matched teams. Yeah, both both teams have had their opportunities. Ashland's been able to capitalize a little bit more on theirs, but um no reason to think that this won't be a close game for the entire game. >> Denim putting on some good pressure there coming up the field. I also noticed, you know, some changes on the Ashland side. Obviously, we got three girls missing. Ashley Forchu, who's been playing a lot of midi, Mhm. um she's back to defense and uh um Early's actually playing she's typically on the offense side. It looks like she's playing more midi today getting the start. So, some changes on the on the roster for Ashland. Yeah. Um based on having three players out, you're going to have to >> Yep.
East Long Meadow really should be holding on possession on the ball. Nevertheless, Minnechaug up 4 to 1 with just under 5 minutes left to go in the first quarter. Sergentof gets it in there and fires it right into Mack Whitwer's stick. Mack Whitwer turning around and gets the ball and Sergentof will get herself a yellow card. So, the Spartans will be up a up a man 4 minutes and 39 seconds left to go in the quarter. Mack Whitwer with the ball. From Mack, I just hold on to it cuz they're just face guarding her the entire time. Mack goes in and out of one. Nothing there. Sabina McKekney with the ball. Sabina McKekney sets a screen. Mack Whitwer goes in, gets the ball, takes a shot to the head. Mack Whitwer gets herself an 8 meter. McKekney never taking a charging call during the basketball season, but she'll take one for Mack Whitwer for soccer or for bass lacrosse.
>> It was Congrats again. Um takes a village. Um, but you are one of the ones on stage, so front facing, so it was excellent. Thank you for that. Um, I just had a question. It's Earth Month and then Earth Week coming up. Is there any Does the high school do any kind of acknowledgement or No. Okay, just checking. No, maybe it's something to consider. Um, Huh? >> Maybe we should. >> Yeah, I was just saying it might be something to consider in future years. Thanks. I think they have in the past. I feel like it. >> Yeah, I thought I've got stuff from him before. >> Not this year. >> Okay. Um once again, you are welcome to stay for a little bit if you want. There are many awards being presented tonight. Um we have a full house here and um we'll move on with our agenda.
It's like, no, they're actually doing a ton of a ton of things. And so, >> okay, they've got a lot accomplished if you >> very lean, very lean team. >> Yep. >> Um, >> so I I say this I say this with all good intention. Would it be possible to ask Erica or even you, Rich, to to put something like on the back of a napkin about life cycle costs? like it if it's too complicated I get it >> for like freezer refrigerator. So, what you were saying before was not I don't know if it's life cycle cost, but it's more comprehensive costs, which is if you want to buy in volume, you're saving money. >> And then we could I'd be curious to see that positioned against additional refrigeration on the loading dock. And I'm not saying it has to like I'm not saying it has to equal or exceed that refrigeration, but I'm just curious like because we need to go to the voters and ask them to support this and if we could point out ways that uh costs were avoided if it was a meaningful cost.
Um and actually to address the standard lag bolts and handling the lever arm effect and we're getting into dynamic movement here. This carrying case is a functionally equivalent with the beam is and there's this uh captive device here and the beam sit on there and so, it's got plenty of free movement. It's a little loose right now because the real one has a has a plastic slip plate. I just took that off for demonstration purposes cuz it's easier to uh easier to move around. But yeah, you can you can see the dynamic movement of it and it has moved before. I can I can tell you that. I've been I've been had it up there for a couple years. Um and then the final thing there is I didn't bring it with me. There is an eye bolt that goes in there that screws to this for a cable backup.
Thank you, Mr. Russell. Um I wanted to give an update this evening on the superintendent hiring process. Um Thank you, Bill. Um 16 qualified applicants were identified by the university search team. With the assistance of the team, the board selected six candidates to interview for the open superintendent position. The interview process consisted of two rounds. Round one included a set of questions pre-selected by the board. Round two included a 20 to 25-minute presentation by each candidate followed by additional questions from the board related to the presentation as well as follow-up questions tailored to each candidate based on the round one interview. As the board considered the results of the community survey and the criteria discussed with the university search team, Dr. Stahlbaum, who's with us this evening, demonstrated a strong focus on student outcomes and genuine genuine connection to the community. The board's goal was to finalize Dr.
They're basically the same work. We go to the next slide. The first one um you know, country meadows and we made the scale all the same. You can see the relative size, you know, and same situation. You have a whole population now in the 60s and there's a deficit here. Next slide I believe is >> Watson. Okay. Almost no pillar shape, but you can see there they've already got large numbers of of people getting into their 70s. You're going to see increasing number of these houses start to downsize. And you all know city knows as well as I do. You know where they're at. So next slide. Kenny, same situation. um they're a little younger. Their their bubbles about five, seven years younger and not quite just about break even for the zero to four. Um and then the last slide of course water um again their their bubble is in now early 50s and they have uh again almost break.
