Competing for and with this amazing team is something I will always cherish. And although the team will be changing next year, I will remember our family as the Troings. My past four years with the co-op helped me find my inspiration and most importantly my love for gymnastics again. >> Hi, I'm Lauren. From from the past four years of being a ching, I have learned so much. I have learned how to love gymnastics again, be a family with my team, how to grow as a person, and so many more valuable lessons. This year we had such a special team where all varsity girls competed in the lineup and everyone stepped up to play an important role on our team. I am beyond proud of everyone and what they have accomplished. I want to thank campos coach Kylie and coach Bill for always being there for me no matter what.
Okay. So, the bond and interest levy will be set by the county to cover whatever we have taken out in payments coming. >> That is correct. Okay. Okay, thank you. Yeah. So, here's the existing debt service that you have on your bonds. So, the green bars there's I'm sorry, it looks a little funny on the screen there. I'm just trying to see. Okay. Do you Do you all have it up on your so you can it looks clear to you guys? Okay. So, there's blue bars there that show the debt service payments on your existing bonds. So, as as you asked about when you sold your bonds in '24, documents were filed with the county clerk to say, "These are the payments we have to collect to pay our principal and interest payments as a board every single year." There's a natural drop-off, if you will, there in levy year '26 because the plan was to sell this next series to be able to impact levy year '26.
So anyway, um so and there's something in there about the approval of a resolution to prohibit sexual harassment. I think we already have a law about that um that I know everybody has to take this class um every year. So anyway, that was all I had to say. Thanks a lot. Have a great day. Bye. All right, next we have our consent agenda. Under the consent agenda, we have our minutes for our regular board meeting on March 16th. We have the treasurer's reports, the payment of bills to North King County Regional Vocational System, the personnel report, our amended calendar due to the cold day on January 23rd, uh a donation to CHS boys track and field activity, a change in location for our 2027 from So for the consent agenda, can I have a motion and a second to approve? So moved. Second.
Um so, we'll be working on that, and then also making adjustments based on those scores and results. The library updates, we're working on book ordering and processing, subscription renewal, and just promotion of literacy with books in hands over screens. Um for pro- professional development, March 31st, seven elementary teachers visited Earharts Elementary for an observation, and then um we did have our on >> [snorts] >> April 6th, we had our CKLA reading program coach. She spent the two-hour delay with um direct instruction with all teachers K to 5, and then she spent an hour at Audubon in individual classrooms and 3 hours at Prairie Crossing. And April 17th, we had uh three teachers visit Jeff High School and Tishomingo Junior High, and that was um another observation. You can see we have some upcoming PD coming with um an AI curriculum committee at BC, uh visit to Ladoga Elementary to consult with the principal there.
I'm a senior at Central Noble. I've gone to Central Noble for eight years. I transferred here in fifth and I must not walk because I will not have a chance to teach here. And one of my brothers didn't grow up in this community. During my time here, I've been involved in football, golf, cheer, and wrestling. Central Noble does a great job offering a lot of different classes and activities. So, there's something for all of us and everyone and what it is today. The teachers and counselors really do try to help you in high school and that makes a huge difference. Central Noble also has an amazing community that supports, encourages, and leads you to be ready after high school. If I could give younger students some advice, I'd say don't dig yourself into a hole with missing work, turn things in on time, and even if they're not perfect, also be respectful to teachers and staff.
Like that's just the that's just the nature of your job. However, it was very difficult finding out that we had to move then hey, you have this much time and this is when you have to be out by. It was really rough. However, like she said, um moving over here was amazing. Like Sean actually offered me all the very supportive they have prior time. And like she said, we're still learning. There's some things that we're going to change definitely next year. We're going to have those meetings and such, but overall, it was it was rough. Like like they said like Mrs. Hook Gamble said, knowing earlier is way better because it is a big it's a lot especially if you have taught for a really long time. You will have stuff. And even for those teachers like I didn't have a lot of stuff. It's a lot.
So, well-rounded young man. Uh when I sent out the email to the the staff about nominating a student of the month, Mrs. Prease responded back to me right away. It was within like 5 minutes and said Alex Shoemaker stepped up for the NHS inductions and helped run it when Carly couldn't do it because of her surgery. He also is just worthy of recognition for all his involvement. And he's a senior young man. Want to give you this. Thank you. You need a pen and pencil set. Thanks. But, sorry. And our employee of the month is Mr. Burse. So, Ricky, if you could come up here. So, he's a humble humble guy that he was really bashful hiding in the hallway. He was really bashful when I told him that he was getting the employee of the month and but I noticed as I was talking to you you probably didn't see the students in your classroom but they were all smiles and were happy for you.
Then we're going to get take a look underneath the stadium. This is also a key part of this project. If you remember restrooms and concession areas located underneath there, total redesign and enhancement of the concession area. And then, the restrooms, totally brand new restroom areas uh that will be under the stadium areas. Uh it will be completely ADA compliant as well, this a venue that everyone will be able to enjoy. I will say, I know Stephen and our facilities department are staying in well, really daily contact with our contractors to see this project coming along and they are also staying in close contact with our school administrative teams looking ahead knowing that we're about a month out from commencements. They'll keep an eye on that progress hope for continued good weather which we have had this spring, but I will say too and Stephen certainly knows this, all of our school administrative teams are always working on contingency plans knowing that of course Mother Nature can always have an impact on commencement ceremonies.
It's all, you know, we it's it's penciled in for next year, um but in our recent meeting with Nations Classroom, we did talk about like if we if it falls flat, you know, we could always pull it for next year and just return to our old the old way, but we'll see. We're excited about it. That's good. Okay, so again, we don't need to vote on it, but it's for And Oh, it sounds great. Thank you. I've been doing this for a long time. Mhm. We need to go back for public comment. Oh, you're right. Yeah. Do we have any public comments? I believe we do. Sky Zeller. Oh, here. Where to Okay, stand here, up there. Come here. I'm up here. Cool. Um Mike, can you get me on the getter? Okay. Well, hi everybody. Thank you for allowing public comments. I think it's really important that parents have somewhere to voice some concerns and and have some good feedback.
Hearing none, members we're open to questions. Ask Superintendent, if you can come up. So my understanding is the AG has said that you could renew the positions each year or is that We are following the statutory requirements. The positions The positions that um uh at the end of our temporary at the end of every year um there is uh we evaluate the positions themselves. And then deem if we need to establish the positions again. And so we that goes our process that we utilize is should that as that need happens and it does for for these positions we do um propose that through the Board of Education. The board through our approved board budget um then it goes on to the which it was approved. Then it goes on to the governor's governor's office which then that was also approved and forwarded to the legislature for for funding of those positions.
Um, Dr. Frost, I think it was you that mentioned that, you know, a lawyer might be something I might be good at because I'm well spoken. We'll see how that is because the number one rule of being a lawyer is don't ask questions you don't know the answer to. We'll see where this goes and I have to mend this presentation to which the answers you give. Um, but are you ready? >> Yes. >> Okay. What is your name? >> Amy. No. >> How do you define school spirit? How would you define school spirit as you think of Stevenson? >> Good question. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Um, I guess I would define it as having a connection feeling, you know, where where >> the school becomes kind of a part of who you are as you're here and as you leave. >> Yeah. So, that's how you define school spirit.
Looking at goal two, the learning environment. So we work hard to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and engaging culture for all of our students. Um this year we did start a new award for our students. Uh you'll see pictured in the middle the clean and tidy tiny clean and tidy cougar award. So this is actually an award that's given by our custodial staff two times a month in which a time where they look at classrooms at the end of each day who has helped clean up, who's picked up pencils, who's thrown out paper, and they award the classroom for that. So it's just a way to empower our students to um really continue to be mindful of their learning space. We also did start or continuing to support what makes Cumberland unique and we did start a new morning a new segment in our morning announcements called more words Monday which is uh where we can highlight we have a lot of students as we know that use communication boards and alternative and augmentative augmentative communication devices or AAC devices.
We would not be where we are today without you guiding us. I also want to say thank you for the girl. Thank you to the girls for making this season so special. I could truly never ask for a better group of girls to spend my last season with. Most of all, I'm proud to be a part of a team that feels like a family. This season wasn't just about gymnastics. It was about trust, growth, and making memories that I that we will carry with that we will car that will carry with me for the rest of my life. >> Dr. The need to come up. >> It's It's literally your day. You don't have to talk or you just have to be embarrassed for me. >> All right. As state champion, our both our villages get involved when we have state champions. So, uh, the village of Downer's Grove and Mayor Barnett has declared today April 20th in your honor.
So, now you're going to see in a minute new bars of a different color coming up so that in aggregate those payments are approximately level every single year for the life of both series of referendum bonds, okay? So, we built in that drop-off on purpose. If you go to slide five, these are the numbers supporting the the bar chart on the prior slide. So, there is a drop-off if you compare We can see levy year '24 going across shaded in yellow. Uh again, that was set because you had your actual 2024 EAV. So, that bond and interest tax rate then was about 16.6 cents. And then we have another debt service payment of approximately the same amount as levy year '24. So, it's about a million 438 in '24, it's a million 440 in '25, and then there's a drop to about a million 19.
Any questions, comments? Roll call, please. Hurst? Yes. Mervich? Yes. [clears throat] Pappas? Yes. Ward? Yes. Dogan? Yes. Gorman? Yes. Wasson? Yes. Motion passes. >> [clears throat] >> Next onto our action items, we have I need a motion and a second to discuss and approve the Best Buddies overnight trip which is occurring July 17th to July 20th of this year. So moved. Second.
Um Abby's initiated a preschool information sharing session, trying to do a little more outreach with um the preschools that help our students before they become our students, and more communicate open communication with them. And uh we are going to have our this year's final SIOP training at Prairie Crossing. In June, there is a Reveal Math virtual training, and that will be recorded for teachers that aren't able to attend on that day. And our final Conscious Discipline coach visits, uh Tammy McMahon from Logansport is coming, and she'll spend a day at Audubon, at Prairie Crossing, and BC. And then finally, we have a summer visit from Dr. Lori Desautels. So, we're finishing strong with reinforcing a lot of those um new skills and strategies we've put into place. In the fall, we are already planning some more SIOP training, and we're looking at our Benton teacher collaboration days and how those two-hour delay days will be scheduled.
Central Noble has helped me learn how to manage my time, balance school and my life, and be responsible. It also gave me a chance to try IMPACT. My freshman year, I was able to tour the IMPACT facilities and I fell in love with the program. I like how much responsibility I was given and how I started to be treated more like an adult, doing real real real world tasks, and to get me ready for the workforce. I was able to finish my school work and shop work at IMPACT. So, I'm able to work there two or three days a week two days out of the week and my plan is to work there full time as soon as school gets out. Central Noble and IMPACT has given me that opportunity to do that. IMPACT has been nothing but positive since Central Noble and the instructors and teachers are very understanding, willing to share everything, >> [applause] >> Uh hi, my name is Bryce Guyer and I've attended Central my entire life.
Um but like I said, our move wasn't perfect to be here. We love you guys. Um and it was it's great that we're here, but it was stressful because it was so short notice. It wasn't fun. I'll follow that up with um like my colleagues have said, it was stressful at the beginning because it just kind of happened on us. But after the change and after we got accustomed to it, it has been a good change for us. Um the staff members are amazing. Sean actually offered me everything to help us. And whenever we needed something changed, they listened to us and said, "Okay, hey, what can we do to make this just easier, to make it better not only for us as teachers, but also for the kids?" Because we didn't know what it looked like. We didn't know what to do or how it was going to change.
So I think that says a lot right there but So Ricky's one of those teachers who's here early and he stays late. There's been days where he's been here really early like like 6:00 probably. Um He's the backbone of our FFA program and he he wants to you know act like he's not but he is. He's the backbone of that. I I talked to him in my office one day about that and he wanted to to deflect but with livestock judging the the breakfast that the FFA put on, the fundraiser uh the um conventions that you go to, the competitions that you go to and Ricky is also a mentor and a department chair in his department. So Ricky, thank you for all that you do. We appreciate it. Thank you, Mr. Golden. I want to see the trophy. Thank you. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it.
So, a lot of work there will continue as quickly as possible and again once that's finished just like the bowl, it will certainly be a tremendous historic venue that we can be proud of. Thank you very much and Stephen, thank you all for providing that drone footage to us. I'd like to be updated from time to time. I think the addition to ADA compliance is going to be so well welcomed and and helpful We'll continue to do that President Duckworth too just so that then we can post that on social media because we know a lot of folks from those school communities that are very interested in projects and that's good news. Thank you very much. Okay, we're going to move into consent items Dr. Hoover. Good evening. Okay, we've got one public comment Sorry. Did I leave you out Larry? My my bad. My bad.
