And when you have three minutes to participate, we want you to be able to ask questions and make comments. So, the first group that we'll talk about is facilities. and we will do a facilities presentation and we will show you some of the things that are wrong with the facilities that we intend to fix with the facilities and we want to hear your comments.
Any discussion? All those in favor? 7-0. Um next we have IDOH health issues and challenges grant. Just asking for approval. Um Purdue Extension partnered with Perception to provide a 6-week workshop, which won't be a 6-week workshop. Um there was an IDOH health issues and challenge grant. It incorporates movement and art to reduce stress and I've shared the program with you. It incorporates state standards, employability skills. Just asking for approval. I'll entertain a motion to approve that grant. So moved. I have a motion by Cheryl. Do I have a second? Second. Second by Kurt.
It's good pass into the middle wasn't able to connect with from Hickey to Callahan. Shrewsbury able to collect it. Turnovers as always very critical part of this game. If you're not able to maintain possession of the ball it becomes a challenge. Wide open. >> [screaming] >> Number three Kennedy Lane from number 12 Lauren Albertson and once again Shrewsbury able to put another one on the board four to one.
Thank you. See you guys. See you. Have a great Okay. We want to I don't want to have to do that, right? Great planning. Um okay, so it's time for our semi-annual presentation of the SSDS results. So, this is for the period from September 1st to December 31st. I'm going to like I do each each time, I'm going to go through some of the categories here. Um so, student safety data system, right? This is what people refer to as violence and vandalism, right? So, these are all the things that we have to report out uh to the state and then in turn report out to you, the board and the public. Uh so, these are the different categories for violence, assault, fight, kidnapping, robbery, sexual assault, sexual contact, uh threat, uh criminal or just simple threat, and then vandalism, arson, computer trespass, damage to property, false public alarm, theft, and trespass.
We want to answer any questions you may have. Um, and then we're going to get into technology and hopefully everybody has the agenda and so we're going to ask that whatever comments and questions you have that we can group them based on the presentation and that we we want to answer the questions while the PE while the presenters are there, the experts are there to answer questions. Um, but before we get into each of these, we've had some questions. Um, we're going to go to Miss Hoffmy's presentation here about how the last bond money was spent. what it was spent on, how it was used, some different things like classroom ratios, how we spend our money currently. And so some of the specific questions we wanted to get out in front of and answer before um if if these were still on people's mind and we wanted to share it and just be as transparent as possible because once again um if we pass this bond, we want to be transparent.
Any discussion? All those in favor? Seven Next we'll move down to operations. We have a strategic plan blueprint 2030. So this is just an inform that we've been moving along in the strategic plan process which we've been affectionately calling blueprint 2030 currently. But we recently had a meeting with a large committee that consisted of teachers and administrators to review a comprehensive needs assessment and that's what's at your table. This is over 80 pages of data that is specific to our students, our staff and our schools. So you will see summaries from our parent community surveys, teacher staff surveys, student highlights along with academic data, a lot of good data that gives us a picture of where we are and where we have to go. So the committee met, looked through that data and created action steps and action areas that they would like to share.
Three minutes eight seconds left in the first quarter. Looks like Ashland's going to call a time out here talk about it a little bit. Uh once again they they haven't had a whole lot of shots on goal. I believe maybe only taken one shot the the one that Lilly Vitti was able to score on. And going to be hard to hard to put money on the boards if you're not getting good possessions and getting good shots on goal so Coach Blasi will speak it speak it over with her charges and try to see if they can get something going here. It's a busy week for Ashland girls lacrosse. They have four games in seven days. After this one they'll play Monday Westwood High here in Ashland then they're off to Grafton on Wednesday the 29th and on Thursday the 30th they have Norton so four games in the the next seven days so it's an important stretch for them.
Um, we also have uh, weapons and substance abuse in this report. So, it goes everything from weapons possession, um, and it gives the state gives examples of what is classified as a weapon, and then also substance abuse. Uh, it is substance uh, possessed possession, sale, and distribution, um, and examples are everything from um, alcohol to drug paraphernalia, um, and they actually list out the different type of drugs here uh, for the city. And then the third thing in in the report for each school is going to be the the hidden offenses. So, the alleged and confirmed uh, cases, and then last is other incidents leading to removal, and that's a suspension for any reason whatsoever. So, it doesn't have to fall under one of those categories. We'll start with uh, JFK's numbers for the beginning of the school year here. Um, we have under violence statistics everything zeroed out until you get to uh, sexual Excuse me, sexual contact.
We want to be good stewards and be efficient with the finances of the community. So, what we want to do first of all is start off by to report on how we've used these in the past. So, I'm gonna shoot it over to Miss Hoffmire. >> Thank you. The first So, following our last board meeting, there were some from then until tonight, we've had some questions that came up regarding just uh what Mr. Lo was saying, the how the dollars were spent, but then also some of our classroom spending. And so, I just wanted to go through and answer some of those questions that came up to me. And then uh when we get to the question piece, if anything else comes up, please feel free to ask. Um Mr. Doogie, can you are you able to scroll in just a little bit on the Yeah, thank you.
I'm just sharing this with you this week as an inform so you have time to page through and see the data and see the action areas that are also at your table, but they will actually come share with you a condensed version and what the action goals are and ask for approval at a later meeting date. So this was just an inform for you to have access to the data to look at and the five action areas they've defined is student well-being, academic achievement and growth, operational effectiveness, positive school culture and climate and fiscal responsibility. So we'll look at that together and in more detail at a future meeting. I just wanted you to have it. It's a lot of data. So that you could have access to look at it ahead of time. So this item is an inform. Does anyone have If anyone has questions for Nikki, please reach out to Nikki if time to review it and then again we'll take action at a later meeting date.
Again coming in with a four and three record Westwood is always a tough game. Grafton is eight and oh so far in the season. So they've got a couple of tough ones coming up so hopefully they'll be able to get on track get on track in this game and and the other upcoming games. Ashland coming back onto the field. Shrewsbury has already made it back onto the field. Don't see any differences in the alignments. We've still got the same three in the draw circle. McGinness Tripp and Marseglia. Ashley Force remains on defense. She has typically been playing midfield but again with the team a little bit short-handed playing defense today trying to solidify the the back line defense as a captain and the senior and someone with a lot of experience. Another draw control for Shrewsbury so they're going to get started here in their offense.
Um, and then there was one um, incident of that, and then four uh, simple threats. So, one student threatened another student. And a note about sexual contact, too. When you see sexual contact, you think, "Oh, that's something like super serious." It It is serious, and we handle it as such, um, but it it's typically at this level, it's uh, inappropriate touch of, you know, from one elementary student to another. Um, no vandalism statistics in the beginning of the year at JFK. Uh, under weapons, no weapons uh, for the fall, and also no substance abuse uh, for the fall, as well. And then at JFK, we had in the fall, we had zero hip reports at JFK, which was good. And we had 13 other incidents leading to removal. So, that's 13 students suspended for just violating the the code of conduct. If you remember, we have a new code of conduct this year.
That's perfect. So this first um this first column will show you the dollars. This these are bond dollars that were spent each year between um fiscal year 17 and fiscal year 25. So totaling 15 million uh roughly $15 million. And then if you um can go to the other side, this breaks it down into what specifically all of those bond dollars went through. And I think did you say that this was going to be available? This is the presentations are available online. >> Yeah, the presentations are available. >> Presentations are available online and if you guys scan the QR code. So, so if you want to take a little bit more time on each of these, feel free to go back and revisit, but this will show you all of the just breaks it down kind of by uh line item on how that how that those bond dollars were spent.
So next we'll go down to new business. We have some Neola policies. Yes, this is just a first reading for a group of Neola policies and a handful of administrative guidelines. And so this is a first reading only.
Quickly up the field number 25 Mila Vlachos. The the difference between the the ride for Ashland and Shrewsbury was evident there. Shrewsbury quickly got up the field and quickly scores. So, 5 to 1. Bency who scored that. I saw the pass coming from number 12, Lauren Albertson, who has been making her mark with goals and assists so far today. Once again, Ashland doesn't maintain possession. Can't get into the offense and and therefore a lot of a lot of time in the defensive zone. Another draw control for Shrewsbury. It's becoming a problem. And it's another quick goal. Defenses missing cutters coming through and it's it's coming very very quick goals, not even having to work it around. It's the first or second cutter that gets through and quickly scoring. 2:18 left in the first quarter. Ashley Forster going to take the the draw this time, see if she can have any better results against Nico Welsh.
It's a little bit more clear about what can and can't happen and what the consequences for those actions are. And so, there were 13 of those suspensions in the fall. On to the middle school. Middle school, under violence in the fall, everything was zeroed out. Vandalism, everything is zeroed out there as well. So, nothing that fell under those categories. Under weapons, all zeros. Substance abuse, we did have one substance possession at the middle school. It was possession of a vape, but that's considered substance possession as far as the state's concerned. So, that's the total substance number there, one. And then the hip statistics, we had two alleged hips in the fall. Neither one of them were confirmed. And then also in the fall, we had four students at the middle school who were who were suspended for any other incident other than So, it was actually a really good fall at the middle school.
If you can go to the next slide, please. Thanks. Another question came up about our school facilities division uh division and that was that is the we talked about that that is how we get reimbursed for big projects. We put in requests for projects, capital projects that need to be completed and we get reimbursed by the state. And so this shows how many projects have been paid out since 2022 and how many active projects we currently have. If you look at this graph right here, you'll see that a total of 129 projects, 90 of which have been paid out. And then these other ones are um are actively are still actively um um they're they're active projects. Um, and then if you can go to the next slide, please. This next slide shows what all of our current active projects are. Some of these projects have actually been completed.
Please reach out if you have any questions or comments and we'll bring them back for approval next time. Again, this item is an inform. So take a look at those and reach out if you have questions. Under programs, next we have staff professional development summer program. Yes, this is just the fourth annual summer PD program that we've offered staff. It's just an opportunity for them to pick some professional development that fits them and it aligns with the strategic strategic plan goals that Dr. Johnson just talked about. Again, this is an inform. Next on the list under programs Panther Online Academy. You have a handout in your packet. This is just an update of how Panther Online's going. If you look, we have at this time 30 active students. 18 of them have been enrolled since the very beginning. Seven came in October and then we have a handful that's come at different times since then.
After getting first couple of draw controls, uh last several have gone directly to Shrewsbury. And here, Payton Tripp is able to collect this one, quickly to Maggie McGuinness. Maggie moves the ball to X. Seglia to Tripp, Tripp top outside the 12 over to Aaron Hickey. Laney Early behind the net. Tripp got the ball into Maggie McGuinness. And Maggie puts it into the back of the net. She got tied up, but was it still able to get the shot off. Shrewsbury collapsed on her pretty well. Awkward looking shot, but able to get it off, no call. And it's good goal. It's 6-2. 1:16 left. Ashley Forster again taking the draw. Maggie McGuinness on the circle along with Paige Tripp. She's using Payton Tripp. Batted around a little bit. Nico Welsh boxed out Ashley Forster very well so that her teammate could collect the ball. Less than a minute to go in the first quarter.
I can tell you that I expect these numbers to be a little bit higher the next time I report out to you all about the second semester of the year, but that's also guaranteed. Right, we know. Teachers change. Enough to lose their mind. We don't have to So, yes, beginning of the school year. Also, remember the middle school has right now a lot less students than than we have at JFK as well. So, we take that into consideration. Okay, and that's it. Any other questions for me? All right. On the agenda, the mission statement and the goals are listed there. Um at this point we'll do um public comments, open the meeting to the public for discussion of agenda items only. >> I I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Yeah. Regarding the goals, can I just say something? I never say anything about the goals.
