Are there any questions or comments? With there being no questions or comments, we'll move to a vote. All in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Nays. The vote carries 4-0. We move to item 5.07, food to school purchasing cooperative contract awards for 2026-2027. Mr. Reese. >> Thank you, Mr. President. We are part of a cooperative for all of our food service purchasing that we do. With included in this cooperative is our HPS Gordon Food Service. The secondary distributor is Commercial Food Systems. The dairy distributor is the Dairy Farmers of America and then Shankles. The bread distributor is for Alpha Baking Company. The cooperative from districts across the state all pull together, do one large bid for the group of schools that are part of this. And with that, we're recommending approval of the food to school purchasing cooperative contract for 2026-2027 school year. >> Thank you, Mr.
Hearing none, all those in favor? Aye. Any opposed? The motion is carried. All right, we have a request for the 2026 SFSP. Yeah, so as you can imagine, uh federal government uh likes to state government likes them to make adjustments um to things and there's some new restrictions uh this year that um really kind of made things difficult to satisfy um all of our all of our community partners. Um so we do have plans to offer congregate uh meal services and open site at TZ um while summer school uh takes place. And then um also a non-congregate meal service open site at Rogan Park, um where this it's a spark program. Um from will take place from June 8th um to July 15th, uh Monday to Wednesday 11:30 uh to 12:30 uh p.m. Of course, this everything is pending ID week approval. Uh the one program we were not able to accommodate due to student guidelines and restrictions um was the YMCA uh program that they offer on site at the YMCA.
Um those experiences have prepared me um well for this next step. Um I'm excited to continue serving this district in a new capacity, and I look forward to supporting the superintendent and the school board with the same level of dedication, professionalism, and the detail that I've strived to bring to my current role um over the past 5 years. Um so, thank you again for your support, your leadership, and your commitment to our schools. I'm eager um to begin the next chapter and um contribute to continue to contribute to the success of this district. Thank you very much. >> [applause] >> That's it. We'll move on to special. All right, moving on to E1, special presentation for the Huntington Township School Memorial Plaque at Horseman Elementary. I had the privilege and honor to meet some great people that took me down a memory lane and and gave me a history lesson.
Outstanding. Thank you. You guys did an outstanding job. Thank you very much. Thank you, Ms. Dunn. Board, any other questions or comments? Dr. Mulholland. Yeah, I have more of a comment. Thank you, Ms. Schneider and Mr. Crouser for your presentation today. The thoughtful and extensive work of the committee. Um I just appreciate being um educated and learning about the process from how you made alignment to the previous interventions and foundational work to the new expectations um placed on the district and um just appreciate again all the time and thoughtfulness into this work. Thank you. Thank you. Any other questions or comments? Okay, we will continue with Mr. Kusnik 3.6 on the CTE recommendations. Good evening again, Madam President, Dr. Smith, members of the board. We're not done yet. We got one more. Uh we bring to you this time of year another curriculum update on our CTE recommendations.
Again, 14-6. Just start in the fourth quarter over here. >> Westwood Ashlin always a very very two competitive teams in sports. Fall, winter, basketball, football, boys, girls lacrosse, girls volleyball, field hockey. Wow, that's a goal by Lily Vidy with an assist from Maggie McInness. So, Lily getting her second goal. >> That is at least Maggie's second point. She now has 97 points, unless she has another assist that I miss. So, again, to start this game, Maggie McInness Jr. number 14 started the game with 95 total points. That's combined goals and assist. So at least she has 97 points because I at least have one goal, one assist, but she might have more than one assist from those seven goals. So th those numbers are unofficial, but we at least know she has 97 points. It's a great team accomplishment or individual accomplishment for this young captain.
>> All right. Let's see what >> Bellingham can do. >> Here goes 16 coming in and look at that. Another one of those bounces we were talking about. >> And you got to wonder too if like, you know, I mean actually I you got to wonder if they play on turf all the time, but I was going to say I don't know I wonder if the turf has something to do with those awkward bounces. >> Yeah, I'm not sure how they hit the pellets or how uh >> And look at that. >> Oh. >> Score. This would be Kyle Conners with the goal. Getting their first goal in the fourth quarter. But getting that monkey off their back nonetheless. Yeah. Bellingham is on the board. We want to congratulate our helper running the Instagram page right now. Sienna Peters on making it to Syracuse. Pretty cool.
The ball >> gets the ball over the green behind the net. >> Minute 45 left. >> Now the Spartans have they had it the third quarter too. Really locking down Green. Turn around looking to go around. the back of the net. That's Green spot. Good job by Green. That's a fifth goal of the game. I think every single one of them is come from that same spot. So, Spartans lock down that spot. They do a good job. Otherwise, Green just keeps going through the Spartan defenders and scoring goal in that same spot. Spartans up 16-10 with 125 >> left in the uh fourth quarter. >> Where were the ball? to see the Spartans get the ball get the score up to 10, get to the state rankings as those extra goals really make a difference sometimes in home field advantage or not. M Whitmer sees an opportunity goes through everybody turns around takes a shot.
The big one that I also um I want to invite you all to um this upcoming Thursday. It's very short notice, but we have something happening at GLTS that I couldn't be more proud of our students for. Um the state seal of biiteracy Massachusetts um allows schools, high schools to um put a signifying mark on a diploma and transcript of a high school senior who can demonstrate proficiency in two languages. Um, we started this program here three years ago and we had 11 students in 2024 um, sit and take the Spanish language test and they earned an advanced or proficient score on it. Um, last year we had 24 students and this year we have 31. um the these students they have to pass their ELA MCCAST test or moving forward whatever those requirements will be but they also have to sign up take a test in another language for many of our students it is Spanish they have to earn um proficient or advanced which on an AP exam that you may take at a different school that's a four or a five and some of these students sit for four five almost six hours to really do their best on this because they're excited to have a recognition that they carry with them for the rest of their lives.
When there's a point of order just per Robert's rules, the individual needs to indicate what individual needs to indicate what the the problem is per typically a bylaw that's been transgressed and or Robert's rules issue and then it's up to the chair to rule on the point of order just so we can proceed more smoothly. >> Okay. Joy, what was your question? I apologize. Did I miss the freezing? >> No. Um So, yeah. So, like in particular in line item 28, classroom library sets to support CKLA. So, that is our reading program. >> Yes. >> So, that's brings up a red flag for me. >> Mhm. Even if it's just $9,000. >> Mhm. So I definitely like some clarification on that cuz that was never brought up. I I don't believe specifically. >> So yep. Thank you. I I do bring a team because I rely on some of their expertise as well.
And I'm glad that we're veterans friendly with our students. And it's like uh I think Ms. Mazola used the word dedication. Uh besides that teachers are inspiring and their their their professionalism, it's the dedication of an individual of what how they go about to address some of these issues and concerns that they encounter on a daily basis. I thank you, Ms. Mark's. For many years you have been dedicated in helping the the veterans. It's it's it touched my my because as a veteran, I know the the the issues that are rising, but somehow through the high school and through the middle school, you guys were able to merge and and understand the issues and concerns. So, I just want to thank you on bottom of my heart and on behalf of the Garfield Veterans Organization, we thank you and we thank you for all you do.
Is this connected to the strategic plan? Yes or no. Thank you. I think just for some additional context, if anyone is watching that is not frequently watching, um we are like the reason one of the reasons this is necessary is because we we're not allowed to just get together and discuss this stuff without being streamed um because of the open meetings act. So, we can only like Dominic alluded to earlier, we can we I mean I can call Dominic and have a conversation or I can call, you know, Mary Jo and have a conversation but we cannot have board conversations. It is it is a a two-person conversation and that is it. So, we don't really get to have prior discussions or kind of reach any consensus and and like I said with all of us on different schedules like even if we wanted to find out what everyone was thinking about any particular item that would not be possible.
And then to shift directions, um the district facilities did not meet. However, over the last three weeks, we did have multiple uh meetings where we talked about the redistricting moving forward. If you were not able to attend those, you can actually see that at bcsseenvision2030.org. Uh there's a video posted there some of the uh um plans that we have to move forward along with it's also on the YouTube uh page and then additionally to that page is questions that were asked and some frequently asked questions that the administration had answered. so you can see what people are curious about in the in the community. So, >> thank you, Mr. Glick. Yeah, those technology issues are really all over the news, so we appreciate your work on that. Uh, Miss Lloyd, >> good evening. Um, a few updates from the school foundation. Uh, some exciting news.
Reese. Board members, you heard the recommendation of the administration for approval of the food to school purchasing cooperative contract award for the 2026-2027 school year. May I have a motion? So moved by Mr. Angel. Seconded by Ms. Basin.
Uh we did our best to try and find uh some different solutions. Uh Becky and Kelly and and Shelley and and Mandy uh worked on that. Um but that's the one group that we weren't able to accommodate, but uh I feel like we have a have a good program here that will continue to serve our community uh the best we can. And we'd like to begin uh your approval uh for this so we can begin to advertise and put the word out.
And so, let me introduce them. Uh Terry's not here. Terry Daily is the chairperson of the alumni committee for Huntington Township schools. Sharon McCourt is the secretary treasurer, and uh Rita Michael is a committee member, uh and Rita's going to come up and and and share what a proposal that they have for you as the board. But also, Georgia Smith is here as a committee member. Um Huntington Township Bearcats um and again, where the current Horseman building sits currently right now is the the former home of Huntington Township Bearcats from 1925 to 1966. And so, Rita, if you want to come forward, the mic should be on there and share with the board your proposal. Uh board tonight after Rita's is uh finished, uh we would be asking for a board approval to move forward with our recommendation. Good evening, members of the board, Superintendent Brombury, and distinguished guests.
CTE covers a wide range of things. Obviously tonight we're talking about business and FACS. Again, I'll turn it over to Mr. Crouser. Madam President, Dr. Smith, members of the board, gives me pleasure to bring to you the career and tech education recommendations for business and family and consumer science. The our business program led by Mr. John Dawson, our department chair, and with the entire business staff at all three campuses, Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, and McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology. We developed a system to offer many different um course looking at different courses that we offered. So, really this was also a program review. As we move through being aligned with this new diploma, we need to be prepared. And so, with the new diploma and our credentials of value, we needed to make sure we were aligned with both our university partners and with our coursework.
Good hustle by West. Actually, good hustle by both teams. is the number 11 Cassie McMillan. A name I've said a lot today. Just was able to get the ball. It's Kendall defending over there. Definitely one of our top defenders. Little pass defended by Payton Trip. That is Aaron Hickeyi actually number 16. She's playing a little midi both ways. Sometimes uh Aaron Hickey is playing offense. Wow, great shot by number 13 Miller Miller Manville Jr. It's a 15-sec games. That's an eight-goal lead. So again, obviously Westwood is trying to keep that sevengoal lead. Dash wants to keep that if they do lose just trying to lose by uh less than seven. Again, this Tuesday for all high school sports, MIA rankings are coming out. It's always important to kind of see where the teams are ranking. Typically, the top 32 teams in each division will qualify for the MIA playoffs.
>> Yeah, it's also pretty cool to know that just that our uh volunteers have pretty good percentage this year of going to Syracuse with Sebastian. >> [laughter] >> I've taught them everything they know. >> You heard it here first, [laughter] folks. Brad Crandall taught them everything they know. >> Yes, it's true, Cam. >> [laughter] >> So ref blows the play dead and it's going to be Raider ball. >> The most humble announcer there is at TSE TV. >> Yeah, Sebastian has sought to it. Very uh wonderful helper. He's going to Syracuse also. >> He's actually our most prestigious uh awarded I think without being I mean actually awarded, but he's won the most like been around for all the since the team started winning. If you will. Was that 2019 basketball? >> Yeah. >> And feel like there's been a lot of championships since. >> He's playing baseball right now.
Mac Whitmer scores a goal. Spartans up 17-10 with a minute to go in the fourth quarter. So people at home might go, "Oh, you're running up to score." Well, you know what? When it comes time for states, you really want those goals. So back to see that seventh goal of the game. We were in on draw up. Good job by Northampton. Ends up with that ball. Northampton looking to score. Get another one up on the board. Minute left is behind the net. Try to probably get the green. >> Now you have to watch the cutters because Green's either rolls does a good job rolling or hitting that open cutter. Green with the ball. Kylie Marino on her Marinoz. Good job by Hannah. I believe that was Hannah Eddie once again to disrupt that pass. >> Hannah Eddie doing a great job tonight turning around trying to hit those cutters and get a piece piece of the ball.
