Ball and two strikes from Bradica. That's a line drive to short and it's by the glove of Shriber and into left field. >> So a leadoff single for Jack Reagan. >> And they have got five hits and five singles against Bradica. >> That was another really close ground ball to to Michael Shriber. just just out of his reach. >> Um or kind of bounced in a weird way that you didn't expect >> and made its way into the outfield. >> That's Price who grounds it. Nice play by Clark. >> Do they get the out? >> They don't. >> Calling him safe. The the throw over was just a little bit out of the reach of Michael Shriber coming in the second. >> So Ben Price will reach backto back base runners. We'll see if they give that a hit or an error there. might be a fieldielder's choice.
struck out on >> Jimmy. Anybody want this? Can you hear me? >> Good afternoon and welcome to WA TV, a presentation of Ashland Varsity Baseball. The Ashland Clockers will take on the Norton Lancers on a late afternoon from Ashland Middle School. I'm Jacob Padu alongside my partner George Tubin. Big game for Ashland. Second day in a row they've played. Lost yesterday to Westwood. And Chris Bradock on the mound. How do you feel about that? >> Well, you know, Chris is always solid. You know, he's always the guy to rely on. He's a little bit of a tough season this year, but he he's a baseball player through and through. And I think, you know, if you want somebody up there to try to get a win, you know, I'm not saying the other pitchers aren't aren't uh also as tenacious, but uh you know, I love seeing Chris up there in the mound.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay, [snorts] thank you. At this time, Ms. Buchholz will read the mission statement. The mission of the Evesham Township School District is to promote excellence in an environment that engages students in meaningful learning experiences. Have families and community, the district provides a strong educational foundation that will empower our students to achieve their unique potential, embrace self-directed lifelong learning, develop the skills necessary for appropriate risk-taking and responsible decision-making, respect themselves and others, problem-solve individually and collaboratively, become contributing members of a diverse global society. Thank you. We'll start the evening off with a presentation from Mr. Justin Wright from New Jersey School Boards Association. He had facilitated our strategic planning sessions that we had, three of them in the fall, and tonight he's going to present the results of those planning sessions as well as some action plans for our district moving forward.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Dr. Nolton, your opening remarks, please. Yes, thank you. I will keep them brief, but uh thank you all for being here tonight. We do have um I think a record number of student recognitions tonight. So, thank you to the parents for being here tonight to celebrate your sons and daughters. Um just a couple updates. Institute Day was uh last Friday. Uh went extremely well. Uh STAG was a gracious host. Uh we had uh a great opening presentation, a lot of sessions um that uh we provided for our staff. Um, but Institute Day, as you know, always kind of um, you know, is the is the kind of the first hour of the of the end of the year.
Father, we pray that you would just bless this meeting and that all that we do would honor you and magnify you. And we pray it in Jesus name. Amen. Thank you, Jeff. Future board meetings, our next one's not until May 26th. Then we have June 9th and July 14th. All here at this building at 6 o'clock. There were a few items of revision to agenda under donations and I think >> HR uh public recognition. We have several donations again. So we'll get a motion in a second at the end of that. Uh we got a recommendation to approve $50 from Nelson Dyson for Northville Baseball. Recommendation to approve $1,000 from Chase Vineyard for Southwood youth football. Recommendation to approve $1,000 from Thorn Insurance for Southwood youth football. Recommendation to approve $2,000 from Bingo Charity Wash Elks Lodge 471 for Southwood youth football. recommendation to approve thousand donation from Donald and Beverly Raal for Southwood youth football.

Future board meetings, April 28th and May 26th. All here administration building here at 6:00. We don't really have any revisions to the agenda, and so we'll get into public recognition, and we have a whole bunch of donations, so please be patient with me because it's going to take 20 minutes. These were all in the These are mine. Yeah, a lot. Okay. Recommendation to approve $400 from Affiliate Appraisals. $200 from B&K Drive-In. >> Somebody responded to it. >> I Yeah, I don't I think I received it. Maybe I received Melissa's response, but anyway, it's kind of acknowledge at this point that it was received and we will all have a chance to review it before our next before our next meeting. Um, but that's the only um [snorts] it's been a long time since our last meeting, but it might may have been it may have been the only emails that have come up. Does anyone have any other memory of anything that has come up that I might have missed? Okay. All right. Next on our agenda is um time for public comment. There's any public comment in the room or online, [snorts] now is your chance. Okay, thank you Mark. Good evening 119 Main Street. It's been a pretty good amount of time since I came to to one of the meetings.
They'll call it an error. I >> was going to mention Ben Price, lefty on the mound, righty at the plate. Fun fact for you, there's no current MLB players who bat righty and throw lefty. >> Saw that this morning and it applies here to Price as they'll show bunt pull it back. >> It's an interesting stat, >> right? >> Yeah. >> See it the other way around all the time. >> Yeah, there's a lot of guys who bat lefty throw ready. Lefty throwers, especially positioned players, much less pitchers, are very tough. >> Ollie Lao. Exactly. >> Ferraro will show Bunt again pull it back. >> He's one for one as well. >> Had a single his first time up. >> Interesting here. You know, most of the games we've seen Jared Jared Rumblam playing second base and today, you know, Clark was in and I don't know if the error is going to get charged to him on that throw.
Gives the team a lot of confidence. We got a little bit of a late start here. The uh one of the umpires didn't show up. >> And then the umpire that did show up was the field umpire and he decided to go to his car and get his plate umpire gear on. And it looks like he's going to umpire the game solo. And you know, maybe at some point the other umpire will show up. We'll get a field umpire, but not not ideal circumstances for a high school baseball game. You always like to have two umpires. I feel like I'm, you know, triple A ball here with with one umpire behind the plate, but >> we'll make it work. >> Yes. Makes everything a little bit harder. But Brad will be making his sixth sixth start of the season. Two and two, a 287 RA.
Thank you. Thank you. And one of the things that I was able to do was to have the honor privilege to partner with Evesham Township School District on their strategic planning. So, first I just wanted to say thank you to each board member here tonight, even the previous board members. There were some that are not on the board anymore that got the process started. And I just I appreciate your your partnership, your hospitality. I think we had about 60 members So, you had 60 people, different representatives, parents, any types of stakeholders from the community that came out and had a voice in this process really just to um to recap. We wanted it to be a very open and transparent process. Each of the results along the way were posted online. So, part of my role was just recapping the process and how we got to the finish line, and then I'm going to kick it over to Dr.
So, we we're kind of in that rat race now to get to the to the bitter end. Uh, I do want to recognize two things. Our our fine arts programs, if you haven't if you didn't figure it out walking in, we we have plays and and spring musicals at all three buildings. I think Matilda here, they're all M's, I'm sorry, I get them flipped. Matilda here, um, Mama Mia at Samberg and Mean Girls at Stag. So, if you if you have nothing going on after this night, you could join any of our four uh, fine arts programs uh, which are remarkable. The kids do that are incredible. I'm also very proud that this morning we had our work uh, program breakfast. Um, that is for students who decide to uh, take uh, opportunities with our internship program. Uh, and the thing that I noted this morning, um, I've been around a little bit, uh, and I remember starting this, uh, breakfast or lunch and experience, uh, and the room was was smaller than this.
Recommendation to approve $500 from Ed and Carla Cha for Southwood youth football. I guess that is it. We get a motion and second to approve all these generous donations. So move second.
$300 from Roofs Unlimited. $200 from Shepherd Chevrolet GMC of Wabash. $400 from Store Away Marion Sutton Real Estate LLC. $200 from Winning Edge. $200 from Pools Foods Inc. $250 from Terrell Realty Group. $200 from Daniel and Jennifer Poling. And all these donations will be for Southwood Baseball. Recom- Recommendation to approve $200 from Kurt Manufacturing Machine Repair for Northfield Baseball. Recommendation to approve $300 donation from First United Methodist Church of Wabash for Northfield Baseball. Recommendation to approve $200 from Eaton and Son Bulldozing for Northfield Softball. Recommendation to approve $1,000 from Wabash Furniture and Carpet LLC for Northfield Wrestling. Recommendation to approve $20 donation from H What is it? H? Recommendation to approve $300 from Fort Meter Box for Southwood Girls Basketball. Recommendation to approve $300 from Anonymous Donor for Southwood Youth Football.
So, and I'm just asking two questions is um one is about the housing in this town. Has there been any progress with this state about the housing author authorities with the state house to um bylaws against Ash and other towns? Are there reasons to talk about developments? >> I'm dealing with [snorts and clears throat] housing. I'm talking about the the Massachusetts state law about housing and how it's taking over the communities all 350 communities on the so that state house can override have overrides town bylaws. >> You mean you mean about in 40 >> 40s? Gotcha. >> Yeah. 40 bees and how how how bylaws in the in the this town and zone in and planning board and all that how is this favoring the developers to trump over them. Has there been any talk about among the boards to try to get more even playing field?
I don't know how much practice he's had over there at second. >> Um, it was a sharply hit ball just, you know, to a little bit off on the toss there. I thought it it was likely to be a double play, but >> and Jared Grim did inform me pregame that he would not be playing in today's game. So, don't expect his name to be called as that's a great punt. Laro slides and makes an excellent play. And the throw to first is in time. >> But a good job by Ferraro. He gets both the runners into scoring position. So, it's second and third with one out. >> Couldn't ask for a better bunt there. you know, laid down the perfect bond, but was also fielded wonderfully. I mean, Laro came in, as you said, you know, came in on the slide, picked the ball up, Clark came over exactly the way he should first base, >> perfect throw, perfectly on time, and so from a fielding perspective, it didn't lead to more problems like sometimes punts do.
So, not bad, but not Chris Brad as what you'd expect from him. And he'll face Jack Reagan to start it off batting 400 on the season. we'll go. You know, you we're 10 games into the season and we have 10 games to go. So, we're we're literally halfway through. So, >> every player here has an opportunity to improve their uh you know, pitching, improve their hitting >> as we get into the meat of the season. Now, >> Tri Valley League small opponent. >> One from Bradica's a strike. Chris >> Chris looks very comfortable up here starting the game. He looks just very relaxed. >> I think that's a big part for him. He's just is staying relaxed when cuz you're going to face base runners. You're going to get runners in scoring position. You just you need to stay focused. >> Agreed. And he is facing one of the better hitters on the Norton team.
Smith to really get into the nuts and bolts. So, again, I just put that out there just to make sure that there was a big thank you. I I gave each board member a booklet. Um there's a couple of binders that will be on file in the central office. There's a whole acknowledgement page. Every single member of the community's name is in there, not that anybody did it to get their name in a booklet, but it's really important to honor the people who had helped shape this really important document. So, our purpose is behind Um if you don't know this, always a good reminder for the public and for the board, the board is responsible for the strategic direction and vision of the school district. They are the visionaries in tandem with the superintendent. The school board is they are the ambassadors of the community.
Um, and the students that take advantage of our program now, uh, force us to basically pack Silver Lakes Country Clubs, uh, one of their bigger rooms. And I think that's a testament to our business departments, our work program, um, and really, um, pushing kids into, uh, what I would call a real life experience in terms of life after high school. So very very proud of them. I have some uh comments on our superintendent's advisory kids who we had our joint meeting, but I'm going to save that because they're here tonight. So we'll we'll save that for when they get recognized. But that is my opening remarks. Thank you. Uh do we have any amendments to the agenda? Uh yes, we do have one amendment to the agenda. Section 3, item C, intergovernmental agreement with assess uh was actually previously approved at a board meeting. So we will not take action on this item.
>> Got a motion and second to approve these donations. All in favor say I. I. Any opposed? And again, we are always grateful for all these donations that help these programs to move forward every year. School recognition. >> Yeah, just to have one on here from uh one of our building principles, uh Mrs. Amber Lewis at Southwood. Would like to recognize the Southwood High School track team. They re received an exemplary behavior report from uh Mr. Alan Wright, one of the starters at the Eastbrook Track Invitational on April 17th. Throughout the meet, the athletes from Southwood were very respectful towards the meet officials. They were always ready when it came time for them to participate in their event. They also encouraged their teammates and also their opponents before, during, and after each race. Their good sportsmanship was on display through the meet. Uh I believe their administration, coaches, and community should be proud of the way they carried themselves from the start of the meet until the last event was finished.

And recommendation to approve $200 from Metzger Insurance LLC for Southwood Golf Program. Can I get a motion and a second to approve all of these generous donations for our programs at the schools? So, moved by me. Second. Got a motion and a second to approve these donations. All in favor say aye. Aye.
