Expect the third inning to even be better than uh better than the first and second. >> And Bradock has already thrown 20 more pitches than Price has thrown. The same amount of innings. He's thrown 43 of them. Thank you. Appreciate it. >> That run last inning did not count as an earned run because of the error on the uh the toss at second base. >> Right. >> Top of the third already here. >> Looks like the rain's going to hold up and we'll make it through this game. >> Caleb Luzon will bat first. He's 0 for one. >> He's the lone strikeout victim >> for Gratica so far this afternoon. >> Hey. Hey. >> Those watching, the the second umpire has never showed up. So, >> uh we unfortunately do have a game with only one umpire >> as that one skyed high out of play.
Right now, we don't have that sync between our website and Facebook. I do want to thank our board for their encouragement of us to to sort of dust off our Facebook. We had a couple recent posts on there. Um that's always that's it's it's always an interesting thing cuz you know, I think there's there's so much room to grow there. So much room to grow. Um and [clears throat] uh the um I would say just just as a little example there, like um even as we've been working on the strategic plan, I have noticed it's left its fingerprints on me. For example, um you know, go back to February. I think in one of my updates I sent out um sort of a description of everything our school a sampling of what our schools are doing for Black History Month. And then in March did something similar for Read Across America.
Congratulations. All right. Well, I'm used to being on that side of the table, but on this uh occasion, I need to be on this side of the table because it is my absolute honor to present to you tonight the superintendent's advisory senior class. Um, who you've heard and read about probably every single week that I update the board on what's going on in the district because you guys come on out. No, leave me. All three schools. All of them. All of them. The whole lot of them. Come on down. Um, we were together today just as an example of what these students do for uh he's just he's observing so he's ready for when he becomes a senior. Um, these students these kids these these um people that I've had the pleasure um you guys aren't going to get in any sort of fight here, right, with this.
>> Exactly. So once that's addressed that this now captures planning board's intentions as to what we're trying to do. We're trying to create a um a committee that we can not overwhelm rely upon from time to time and maybe create consistency on the roster itself in some way. Um that would be the end of my summary. >> Your summary's good. I just had a question about it after I didn't know if they were >> I think we start with questions first on the board and then eventually we open it up for public comment. >> Yeah. The only one I um I love the idea by the way because I haven't had a design review thing and I think it'd be cool to have somebody give us some their insights. Um, I was just wondering if we didn't get three, like what if there was just two people who loved the project and wanted to talk about it and wanted to look at it, would we just say no or >> it would not be?
>> Couple lefties after Lame will face Price as he flies that one into left. Going back on >> and Luzon makes the catch. >> Nine. Let's go Finn. Good swing. Yeah, it it's hard to tell just how deep. These guys look like they're very deep when they catch that, but I think there's a lot more room there than we think. But I think if uh >> we were at some other parks like maybe Bellingham or or you know, some places like that that could have been a home run. >> Yeah. >> Seemed like he got just a bit under it. Very high. >> Yes. >> Allowed the left fielder to get there as Connory bats and swings through the first pitch. He's 0 for one. Yeah, that was a nice off speed pitch that fooled him. >> We've slowly been seeing some better swings. Connory will hit that one to DJ at second base.
>> Way back out of play. Quickly nothing and one for Bradica as he gets ahead. >> Nothing and one to Luzon. >> That's outside. Ball on a strike. >> Here's the one-1. That one's lined into center field right at Ian McCoy and he makes the catch. Barely had to move for it and a quick out number one for Bradica. It's a good three pitch at bat. Yeah, Ian uh walked up to that ball the way I walked from the kitchen table to the sink to get a drink of water. It was just just tremendously easy for Ian out there. >> Or he makes it look easy. Yeah. John Salem will take ball one. >> His first at bat drew a walk and brought home a run. >> Seen five pitches, five balls from Bradica as he'll chop that one to third. Bobbled there by Connory, but he picks it up and throws to first.
Um today's update I had a school spotlight on MES and the naturalization ceremony. Amazing that they hosted earlier this week. Um so those are just some examples of like concretely what that could look like. Only imagine it pollinating exponentially. You know, there there's really no ceiling with that. Uh objective 2.3 Five action steps for this one. And you can see even, you know, as we tried to uh create a more um efficient wording, there's still some overlap. Like this one has social media as well, highlighting the joy. Good phrasing. Um and uh to you know, it has the indicator of success, a quantification of that success, which would be one new post per week to the district Facebook. Um and then similarly in that next row um about um using social media and the newsletter to get more information out. And it's got um also the the quantification of one district and one school highlight per week.
I know you guys just played each other. We're we're good. All right. I don't, you know, I don't want to separate the Samberg and that's all right. I could I I could rise above them, right? I could just stand uh but these guys have honestly been um so important to the school community, so important to me personally um for the last four years. They they uh have done an incredible amount of work. Um I got to tell you, probably more than half of the things that we bring to any of our committees for the board to consider um has been vetted by these by these kids and and their their counterparts. Um I have the absolute pleasure almost on a weekly basis to go to one of the three schools and talk to these students about um what school life looks like, what school life feels like, what some of the things we're thinking about might look and feel like.
Yeah, we would say no. But I mean technically in theory this technically this planning board at any time can create an ad hoc committee. We can request we can do that right now. We don't need the design review committee for us to create some other committee. >> Okay. >> And we don't need a bylaw to do it either. >> I don't think >> so. >> I think right now if we had a special project where we were like this is a unique project. We need to pull some people together and Mark volunteered and we were like yes Mark go do it. >> I think we could bless Mark to go do it and item without a bylaw. That help? >> Yeah it does. I just so this is more to kind of make it official >> YouTube. You're just here. So >> So we're doing this more to just make it official as a as a mechanism.
Two away. >> Come on, let's go. >> So, another couple quick outs. He had two pitches and two outs to start the uh third inning. Only about three pitches, four pitches for the first two outs here. Grady Clark will bat next. >> And take a strike. Clark's for one. >> The only good thing about the outs, I guess, is, you know, they're making contact, so you know, the balls are getting put in play like that one. Wow, what a >> he just puts it into the glove of the shortstop. A nice play there by John Salem. And that was a wicked fast inning for Ben Price. All three batters put the ball in play. They sent him right to the defense and we go to the fifth. Game's flying by. Four to one Lancers. >> That was a nice play there by the Norton uh shortstop.
Two quick outs for Bradica as Connory did a nice job keeping the ball in front. >> Yeah, good job by Finn there. Just, you know, you need need to get in front of the ball and knock it down. You may catch it, you may not, >> but uh great arm by Finn over there. You know, he's not >> a large, you know, stereotypical large third baseman that you think about. Um but he's got a great arm and he went literally across the field on a rope to get that out. >> Swinging a miss by DJ >> Capagnanj. That's outside. >> He was hit by a pitch his first time up. >> Also brought home a run there. Looks like he has the captain's patch there on his jersey. He takes a strike. >> That ball looked low. >> Did look low. >> We'll take it.
Next step beyond here, so we've we have a little radio button on our homepage called strategic planning. We've used that in the past. This fall we used that. We were sharing out Mr. Wright's um summaries of the different meetings. We will add a dashboard to that. You can kind of see probably you know where the dashboard's going to go. It's going to have um that completion status. It [clears throat] will will be the kind of the matrix for it. And it'll be very fun to update that as um different pieces are accomplished to continue to show growth in those areas. Um and I would just uh as a a last thought I was having and again just coming back to something that Mr. Wright said in his remarks um when he mentioned CSA goals and different things like that. And I thought um in terms of the timing of this I think there there there is a lot of potential for a superintendent search in the strategic plan because it does provide some raw material for questions interview questions for um work samples work um kind of demos that a that a a person could do that would provide data on how that person's vision can align with ours in in the strategic plan.
Um they represent their peers to the best of the ability that that uh that they have, but also to the highest level of respect that I have because it's not just about what they think, it's about what they know their counterparts, their peers, their their classmates also think. things about our cell phone procedure, our attendance and discipline policies. They give us regular feedback on technology and social media practices. We spent half of the day talking about what we should do to help our ACT progress moving forward. Um, and really digging deep into our programs as they relate to the portrait for graduate, which they've also uh co-created with with our leadership team. So, just a small snippet of of uh who they are as a group. Um, and I'm gonna ask the principles to come out or come back up and introduce them as individuals.
>> It feels like not feels like this is a very specific thing. This is the the design review committee. It must be three to five. So if only two of them are open, we're going to have to fill the third seat. We're not going to be able to use them to grab two. This is written as we're defining what the design review committee is. We expect three to five to be available for an EDM ad hoc project. If we need two, we're going to have to find some other way to do it. Not through design review. >> Got it. Thanks. >> But it doesn't mean we can't have a conversation now about editing it to two to five if you want. I'm just saying that that was not our intent. I think >> and um I I think this does not preclude members of the planning board sitting in those seats as a subcommittee because basically this is a subcommittee of the planning board >> in theory but I think you'd have to be appointed to be a designer review member >> right for the for the duration of that.
He was playing in the right position. He was like cheating a little bit over towards second base which is kind of where that ball was hit. He was playing deep and he, you know, backpedled a couple of steps, took a jump and was able to get to that ball. Um if he was playing more over towards uh third base, he may not have been able to get to that. So, you know, good good anticipation for him >> uh determining where to go to make that a one two three inning for the Clockards. >> Another quick rest for Bratica as he's right back out there. But he has settled in the last couple innings after the uh first first couple he threw four total runs, but a couple scoreless in a row. look to continue that. >> Yeah, first inning was tough and then he's, you know, just looked a lot better.
>> Radica will take it. one and two >> on only his ninth pitch of the inning coming up. >> Here comes >> that's upstairs. Counts even at two and two. >> Chris Chris deserves a uh >> one two three hitting. So let's >> two ground ball that's fouled on the third baseline. >> Yeah, >> just just missed the bag. just missed the bag. >> Umpire of course has a great view on that down the line. This line is actually straight today which which is nice to see. >> Unless they must have put a rope on it or a little swiggle or something going on there, but >> it's a little bump at third base, but other than that, I think it looks pretty good. >> Two balls, two strikes. >> That's outside and high. So, the count is full. Nine hitter Ingram waits on deck.
Um lastly I just want to thank um all our administrators for their work in the action plans. Thank our board for not only their time in uh the process but their vision going back about a year initial conversation Mr. Pielman and I had that led to some other conversations that led to meetings over the summer community engagement committee that led to um connecting with Mr. Wright and the NJSPA which led to um interest forms in the fall, three meetings, work on the action plans, and then tonight. And then the work continues. The work always continues. Um and then the last thank you would be to all of our stakeholders who came to those meetings. Um I emailed all the people who RSVP'd for those meetings um to share the information about this um strategic plan and uh so hope that they will either be watching online or check out the uh final product online and um we continue to welcome ideas.
But, uh, I got to tell you, this is from the bottom of my heart. This is my favorite group of people in the world. Uh, outside of my own family, although sometimes even instead of my own family. Um, but, uh, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I will miss them dearly. But, um, Dr. Dr. Smith, you're going to be uh, Sam uh, superintendent advisory Samberg seniors. First up, Mr. Jackson Canal. Round of applause for Jackson. Jackson will be attending uh University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, studying business. Next up, Samber senior on the advisory is Mr. Drew Danic. Round of applause for Drew. Drew will be attending Illinois State University. I believe studying engineering and kicking football is a long long long way as a member of the football team. So, round of applause for Drew. Also here uh Sam senior is Lamese Shahada.
I'm not saying that's what we want to do, but if we need I in fact I think that's not what we want to do, but if needed to make up the three to have three voices, >> you know, but >> as long as they would be I mean, we would still need to appoint the person by application, but yeah, in theory, we could follow that and one of us could file the application, >> but also it's not there's nothing in here also that says that um >> you know, so we're we're looking for people with um with professional experience, but it says where possible. So, it could be just someone that wants to participate in the conversation. So, I would hope for short durations we would be able to build those seats. So, so maybe we can take public if there's any public comment um online.
He he he looked good during the first inning. I think he was just getting the balls right down the middle and um Norton was, you know, smart to jump out on that and just take advantage of it and the balls just land, you know, were hitting the gaps. >> Face the heart of the lineup. It's four, five, and six. Caldwell, Irish, and Lison. Caldwell's one for two. >> Drove home and run and scored. >> What's Norton's record? I think MIA showed Norton was like three and three wins and seven losses on the year. >> On uh game changer it says four and seven. So >> four. Okay. So they must have won the game during the week. A lot of it though is, you know, it's tough when you look at the records because a lot of it depends on who you've played. >> Yeah.
