>> They've actually won three straight games. >> Norton has. Yeah. I mean, Ashley's actually, you a lot of their wins are against teams with pretty poor records. Um I think except for Hington. the rest of the, you know, the teams with the better records, they've they've lost. >> So, that's a strike. >> So, although Norton's four and seven, they may have just faced some very top tier teams. >> Another foul ball straight back >> and still. Nobody heard it on that, which is good. >> 11 games into the season, still got plenty of time. Four and seven is not necessarily a bad record. >> And you still got, you know, nine games left, including this one. And if you can, if you're playing good opponents and losing, at least your strength of schedule stays, you know, high. That ways into some of the rankings. >> Yeah.
about 17% or it's going to be more than that? Uh we've been told to anticipate I've heard So, we we don't know, right? Our brokers don't know. The state does not release that information. The actuaries will make a recommendation. Um and and then I believe that happens in the late summer and then in the fall they release the rate information. We've I've heard numbers as high as 40%. >> Right, you were saying that. Mhm. And then just for the record, you know, I have spoken publicly about this. I have delivered presentations. I have shopped our plan or it's In other words, you could say I've gone to market our plan three separate times since I've been here. We've been in the state health benefit program prior to my tenure here in Evesham. Um and it was one of the first things I wanted to get out of.
Um Dr. Nolting then reviewed some of the legislation that's going on in the state that would impact the district financially. Um and uh Lynn talked about the fact Dalton went down to uh Springfield and talked to some legislators regarding both pension and foyer reform. And we know that we need both of those very badly. Okay. And we also then discussed the uh the transportation recommendation to implement the option to extend our current transportation contracts for two more years. Um, also noted in that was the fact that Rich Lee Vance's first student will take over at Andrew next year. So they will uh they will both service stag and Andrew. Uh they will re replacing Safeway at Andrew. Um we then reviewed a number of uh policies for the first reading and our meeting ended at 8:13.
We get things done. So, yeah. So, that's basically the the the preference is the infill, the hybrid infill. >> All right. I think I think as you um thank you for providing that um information and uh uh education I guess I should say. >> Um so um I think we did go through last time everything in the all the questions that remained that would be you know put into conditions um conditions in in an approval. Um, are there any further where do people stand on the artificial turf as appropriate for the site? Really don't want to see it. You know, what where opinions on on this? >> I think it's probably appropriate for the site. I mean, turf uh standard grass really can't hold up to any amount of play. It is always mud eventually or just dust. Yeah, >> I think Paul Montesino is speaking.
You're not playing with any boundaries. You're responsible to make a lot of running catches. Sometimes can't get to them. Ezekiel Ferraro will bat as Gu will talk again with Conry. So, Price with his second hit. Two hits at the plate. Five innings on the mound. He's done a lot here for Norton. Big part of why >> they have a five-run lead. >> Ferraro's one for two. >> Also has a sacrifice on the afternoon. Here's the first pitch. That's a strike. >> Good fast ball. >> Always toughest for pitchers, too, when you have a runner on second base. It's It's always going to be a blind spot for everybody. It's not like first base where you have a >> your first baseman there holding the runner on. It's >> a little bit of a gain. >> It's a called strike there. >> Quickly nothing and two here to Ferrara.
The way MIA ranks, it's based on strength of the schedule, strength of the team you're playing, and the runs you put up or run differential. So Norton could be four and seven and be a higher much higher rated than a team that's, you know, 10 and two. >> That one's cracked into center field. A base hit, second hit for Caldwell here on the afternoon. >> So got to two strikes. Yeah, perfect placement on that line drive, you know, just over the second baseman's head and too short for >> um Ian to be able to get to it. Um it just dropped in there for a base hit. >> Seems like every time there's we have a game, seems like there's always two guys who have the same last name and that's the case. There's an Adam Caldwell just got that hit. There's also an Evan Caldwell who is not in the lineup today, but you'd assume with a last name, it's not as common that they are brothers.
My history, just my professional experience as a BA, I've experienced where the state will have um attractive premiums in their plan to try and attract healthy districts in. When I say healthy districts, I mean districts that have a uh less than one experience rating. Um and in effort to offset the districts who can't leave the state plan, the state's plan is the plan of last resort, meaning they have to accept everybody. And so if you're a district like Evesham where you have nowhere else to go, you end up in the plan where there's it's filled with everyone else who has nowhere else to go. So, um I've shopped this three times. All three times we've received the same response, and that response has been that every major carrier has declined to quote us um because our experience rating is too high. Experience rating being for every dollar you put in, how much do you pull out in premium?
We will not be meeting in May because that is the same week as graduation. So our next meeting will be on June 15th. Any questions? Um just as a followup to member Sarah Tori, um member Daltton and I did go to Springfield and talk about those reforms. Because of the connections we made, Lisa helped me organize a meeting for Tuesday. We do have um another board president in a neighboring district and I are going to meet with the representative. So, I'll update you with how that goes and where they're going and trying to speak to some of the people supporting the bills. So, thank you. All right. Next, we have our teachers association. Good evening. Well, the calendar says this is the last board meeting before summer break, but you know, who's keeping track? Our teachers look forward to a bunch of events that come up in May.
>> Oh, Paul, are you >> No, no, I got the mic open. I I'll shut >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Make sure we make sure you make yourself heard when you want to be heard there. Can forget that you're out there in cyerspace. So I I think for me this is a case of um yeah, you know, getting an education on it, but also um you know, the high school has a turf field, the middle school has a tier a turf field, and here's an an opportunity for you know, basically they're asking for the same things we do as a town, right? So um um obviously always trying to look at the safest products product we can get. Um, but it's also and and I don't know what's on our uh our fields, but they're they're older, so they're probably not as it's probably not as good as what what this is.
>> Good job there by Finn getting ahead on the count AFTER having a runner on second with no outs. Here's the O2. That's a high fly into center. Laro is going back again, but he will settle under it and make the catch. Price will tag for third and the throw is cut off by Shriber on a hop. So, a fly out, get the runner over to third for Norton with one away and Adam Caldwell, the catcher, will dig in. >> Yeah, very easy tag up there. That ball again was hit very deeply to right center field and it just made the throw from there so long for Ali that uh I don't think a uh professional major league center fielder would be able to get the ball to third base on that hit. So that that was a great sacrifice fly. >> Caldwell's had a great afternoon.
As he's going on the first pitch, that one is bounced there. Was a swing and a miss by Irish, but Caldwell will get into second base easily. >> Yeah, he picked the right pitch to go on that, you know, that ball um was in the dirt. >> Didn't have a chance to test Grow's arm there. It's >> nothing and one to Irish. >> So if that goes down as a stolen base, Caldwell will be five for five on the season. >> That one knocks down Irish as he takes a seat. It's one and one. for a second. >> Irish so far is one for two. >> Huge lead being taken on second base. >> That one upstairs. Good job by Guo to corral it. And it's two balls in one strike. >> Lefty batter. So second baseman is playing kind of in the gap right between second and first so he's not holding him on and stop running back.
Our experience rating is north of 1 and 1/2. So, and and if you remember my January presentation of all the the they call it souls. Of all the souls that are on our medical plan, 32 of them account for over 50% of all premium claims. So, I you know, I don't I don't know what option Evesham has, but I explore This is something I'm I'm constantly looking at for alternatives for. >> Okay, thank you. So, seeing no other questions from the board, now we will open it up to public [clears throat] comment on the uh final budget presentation for school year '26-'27. Oh, is anybody getting up? But before you do, I have to say this. We have um two public comment periods. We're having two public comment periods tonight. We'll have three. So, we'll have public comment on the budget, then public comment on agenda items, and then general items.
Uh we have Stagfest tomorrow, Andrew Fest Monday, uh AP tests, senior scholarship nights, finals, graduation just to name a few. Uh teacher appreciation week also is next week. Uh it's always special because it comes with ice cream for all. Feel free to stop by if you want. We got all three buildings have ice cream and it's always a special treat courtesy of our teachers association. May's an exciting time in that we're sad to say goodbye to our seniors, but we're also thankful for our time with them and we just can't wait to see what they do next. Thank you and have a good night. Thank you. Our ESP, this is the only speaker we have. I didn't get I want to make sure I didn't get lost when I was coming in. Good evening. Um I spent most of the evening tonight panicked on how I was going to get up to the podium because the room was so crowded.
Um, so this is probably better than what we have now. Um, and so, um, yeah. So, I I I think that's I think it's a I think it's a a fair use, you know, for it, but wondering what other members think. It's good for me. I'm good to go. >> Good. Okay. So, I mean, this is kind of our last chance for comments here. I mean, not that we're voting on, but we would be looking for then Jasmine start putting together an an approval document um that allows the turf the turf field um that goes through the other things that we talked about last time. Um spells out uh no loading area. Um there's something about the lighting. There's a few things that that are in here um that so that we would make sure those are in the decision. So things that are called out by GCG was just a handful of things.
He's been good behind the plate. Two for three at the plate. He scored a couple times. He also has an RBI. Chance for another one here. He takes upstairs. >> So, one ball and no strikes from Conry >> to the cleanup man. Infield is in on the grass here for the Clockers. That one is outside. Good stop by Guo and it's two and0. Yeah, nice quick stop there by that that could have gone by him. It was down and away. >> Price inches down the line. Two and0 is a strike. >> Good pitch there. It caught the outside corner. >> That was a good pitch. Umpire really slow on >> jumping up with his well strike calls. two and >> one. >> That was a timeout called there by Caldwell. Little bit of a late one as Connor was ready to go into the uh stretch there.
Shriber goes to cover and Caldwell is back in there safely. >> You mentioned Chris Bradock always trying to keep his runners >> on their bases. two and one >> inside. That was very inside. >> Three balls and a strike after couple quick innings in a row for Bradica here. >> Looking to avoid letting first two runners reach >> 3-1 is a strike. Good fast ball count is full. JUST LIKE >> as Irish will take a timeout too much time there. 3-2 and Baratica will step off. >> The runner on second base doing a good job of distracting pitcher. >> Big pitch here from Bradica. 3-2 is poked. Foul into the woods. >> 3-2 will come once more. >> That pitch looked high but you know batters it's two strikes. She just kind of fought that one off. >> Smart. >> Another 3-2 from Bradica to Irish.
>> What he said. So, So, um we There are no public comments referencing um student or personnel items or negotiations. We ask that you see superintendent after the meeting since we do not discuss these matters in public. Please limit your comments to 3 minutes per person. Please state your name and your address. I am Congresswoman Bonardi. Uh 10 Halifax Court East. Um I'm here to talk about the budget. Uh first off, my question is last year you came to the taxpayers you came to us as taxpayers and said hey, we have to raise uh the tax levy. It was $14.2 million and you know, you guys voted to do that. You know, the taxpayers are paying that fee. Um and for the average assessed homeowner, I believe it was probably around $1,000 last year. Now you're coming to us and again out of the 14 million, it was uh presented to us that you know, half would go to instruction and then the other half would be for capital improvements.
So I was kind of glad when it cleared out a little bit so that I could get up here. We would have cleared the room for you. the path for you. Christie, it's like how am I going to get up here? Um anyway, good evening and thank you for having me tonight. The ESP association would like to thank the school board, the administration, the presenters, and everyone involved in planning and executing last week's institute day at St High School. There was a wide variety of sessions available for the ESPs as well as an engaging presentation from Sanberg alum Phil Januzki. We truly appreciate the opportunity to attend and select the sessions that were most meaningful to us. So, thank you. Um, Institute Day serves as a gateway to the end of the school year and from this point forward things become uh especially busy. Next week marks the start of AP testing during which uh many ESPs will be supporting students who require accommodations for their tests.
Um and then we do typically unless asked by the applicant, we do typically just leave things leave the public hearing open until we're actually ready to vote because it just ties our hands that we can't physically look at anything else if if um if something comes in or someone wants to contribute something at the last minute. So, um, but for the for the applicant's sake, can we take an informal vote >> on on this so they kind of understand where things are heading. You can change your vote next time if you want. Um, because we're not looking at the not looking at the actual approval document. Um, but so this is definitely informal. Um, so I will ask for a informal vote starting with EEPA. Objection. >> Yeah, >> I would agree. >> Same with me. >> Same here. I would agree. >> Angel, >> I agree.
>> Yeah, very very late. Conor had to like hold off is actually beginning to pitch. That's strike two. >> The count is even. >> Seems like every time the Empire calls a strike, he's saying strike three. The way he says it >> is two and two. >> Norton players have to gargle tonight with salt water. I mean, I think their uh throats are going to be all scratched, screaming all game >> as that one's fouled away onto the turf. >> It remains two and two. >> Players get excited about whatever happens. >> Two and two to Caldwell. That's a ball in the dirt and the count is full. Three balls, two strikes from Conry to Caldwell. >> It's ball four high. >> And that is the third time in four plate appearances that Caldwell will reach first base. >> And that'll send up the five hitter Logan Irish.
