The criteria the person that's going to be doing the testing. Well, we we don't know uh we don't know that. It It's you you would think that it would be an LSP. But uh we we really don't know that. Any other questions for That was a great summary. Thank you. Thank you. Um We are um We are grateful for the uh for the input that the public has uh shown towards this project. Um It's taking a long time to uh seems to get into the substance of the discussion, but we will get there eventually. Uh and try to keep this uh on track as best we can. Mark, do you have a any question? Good evening. Mark Soule, 119 Main Street. Good evening. I'm going to try and bite my tongue a little bit. I'm going to try to formulate my thoughts, but I may not be successful.
Thank you for all your time and your continued support of Dartmouth High School. >> Thank you, Charlotte. >> Going on. >> Uh you are more than welcome to stay. Uh but we do recognize you probably have other things to do. Um so thank you very much. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Next is our spotlight on kids. Uh and tonight it's Dartmouth Middle School. I'm going to invite Principal Peter Rossi up to introduce tonight's um Spotlight on Kids.
Lot of eight meters already in this game. Spartans had four and Agawam, this is their third one. As Giovanni tries to take another shot and Julia Gray stops her for the second time today. Gray airmails it up to Lucy Parsons. Can somebody get to it? Ball goes out of bounds. Brownies ball. Lutz will run it in. Lutz Lutz gets it knocked loose by Lucy Parsons. Lucy Parsons just just the keeper, just the goalie left. Parsons cuts back in. And Lucy Parsons with a goal. Little late on that aim. Don't think the goalie knew where that one went. I think Parsons got one between her legs and Lucy Parsons quickly gets herself a goal. Goal for Agawam by Lucy Parsons. >> Spartans now Now after that goal, but the Spartans now have five players with double-digit goals on the season with Whitworth leading with 60, McKechnie with 28, Pelletier with 14, Marino with 12, and Illingsworth with 11.
Any questions or discussion on that one? If not, I'll go on to the next one, which is extra pay positions for 2026-2027. Yes, Mr. President and members of the board, um you have uh the following staff members have expressed an interest in the corresponding extra pay position for the 2026-2027 school year. Uh special education idea, Mr. Guevara. Gaelen and title six, Ms. Williams. Testing coordinator, Brenejo. Uh CTE, Romo. EL coordinator, we'll have two people. Family duties, Mr. Guevara and Ms. Queenie de la Roma. Our school tech mentor, Mr. Simon. Pre-K director, Ms. Espirito. Um dual language reading K-3 coordinators, Mr. Godinez, Mr. Serrano. Intervention specialist, Ms. Botello, Ms. Zulema. Intervention counselor advisor, Ms. Fernandez. Middle school student council advisor, Ms. Williams. And you have the extra pay positions listed there in your attachment. Ms. Zulema Zulema, please. And all right. Here you go. Is there any other question or discussion on that one?
I was telling Dr. Sedto before the meeting started that they keep sending us emails about the audit. This last year's audit Dr. Yes. Yes. They're waiting for the audit for in fiscal year 25. Yes. I believe it's very Yeah, those emails for the current audit are because it went past the March 31st deadline. And we're working with our audit firm which has not been how to say this nicely just you know very a partner in this in this process. Um, with Ottawa being very small, I haven't seen an audit firm treat a district like this uh in a very long time. And I feel like they're taking advantage of auto because they're small. Uh, and so we we probably will be um looking for a new audit firm and that that process is very regulated. So, we'll have to submit an RFP and stuff like that.
So I I think for me this is so important that as the board we have to stay consistent to our commitment into student outcomes and making sure that the majority of our time is so we're not allowing those whirlwinds to consume us. They're going to happen. They're going to be there. But I don't think it's necessarily our job as a board to control those whirlwinds, right? It's really just staying focused and setting the tone of what we really want to achieve. And I believe for I'll speak for myself, it's ultimately that our students have the tools they need to continue um succeeding as they pass on every grade. >> Got it. >> I think that I mean you I think this is just like all about um are you like if you're walking and acting in integrity um rather than just than speaking about it.
They created slides to kind of walk you through what that experience looked like. So, I'll let you guys introduce yourself, and then we'll put their slides up. Okay. Yep. >> Oh, hello everybody. My name is Anvi Krishnardula, and I will be talking about our ISBE Student Summit. This is >> Samira. >> I'm Daniel Pacheco. >> And so, as soon as these slides are up, we're going to start talking about the ISBE experience, which for those of you who don't know stands for stands for our Illinois Student Board of Education. So, this was where we were able to go to the next slide. >> Sure. >> And then, so here's the formatting and the scheduling. So, when we arrived, they had this really fun bingo scavenger hunt, which was a warm-up activity for you to get to know everybody there and feel comfortable in a space where you were able to discuss your ideas.
So then they take that average count times the tuition support and then that's what you get for your um tuition support for that year. So if you can see you know each year we've went down students. We've lost a total of 72 in the last 5 years. So about an average of 14 students a year. And some years were more some years were less. Um we even went up three in 23-24 but um so then you can also see what the increases was that the state has given to the um tuition support. You know obviously 21-22 is a pretty big increase of 5.5% you know that was COVID money COVID years. Um and then you also see another 5.9% in the 23-24 though that was when they put the textbook reimbursement into the basic grant. And so that's why that's increased because instead of having your own they included all of those expenses into the education so they put that revenue in there also.
Uh But the quote at the end, 10 most powerful two-letter words, if it is to be, it is up to me. The career technology center is going on up there. Thank you, Larry. That would be all, President Duckworth. Next, we will move to consent items, Dr. Hoover. Good evening, President Duckworth and the Board of School Trustees. We have six consent items for your consideration tonight. They are 3.01, of the minutes of the 26th session and regular board meeting. Consideration of the allowance of payments, invoices, net payroll, payroll obligation for a total allowance of payments of $32,651,650.36. 3.03, consideration to approve the addendum with Voice Cloud Services. 3.04, consideration to approve the renewal of the Microsoft licensing agreement through Secure Tech. 3.05, consideration to approve the renewal agreement with Franklin Covey. 3.06, consideration to approve the amendment to the agreement with the Evansville Otters. These consent items are presented for your approval.
Um and you guys the board uh got the recognition. This stands for the exemplary governance award. Um it has a plaque here that has all of your names on it. So, I just wanted to tell you guys thank you for being dedicated to our school. Um we we have a couple other other of these. I think next time you come out I'm going to have them hung. Uh so, we kind of have those uh here on our board room. But, I just want to tell you thank you for your guys's hard work uh and your dedication to the Naxspen schools. Next uh director's report, Chris Beaver will give us a tech the technology director will give us a report. Forward, so. Mr. Wish. Good evening. How are you all doing? Pretty good. So, first of all, I just really want to thank my staff at the IT department.
I guess it's what are your goals like for when you come into the district each and every day districts cuz there's three of them each and every day. What are your goals for the MLE program like for students academically and and more socially? >> Mhm. So, um I do big picture as well as small picture as well as day-to-day and so I can you know this one of the initiatives that I had was to be able to provide teachers with training for um SEI strategies in the classroom to be able to support all learners. um they we've been providing training during faculty meetings um during professional development days to be able to provide teachers with the strategies to be able to um teach all students in front of them not only um students from Ammeris but students from other countries because the the numbers are increasing of our students.
So here I go. This is sounding and it's not this Walpole's fault, but this sounds like a little bit of the delays and con- continuances is like it was in the zoning boards. They've had said one thing and then couldn't do the other then they wanted to come back and re- rearrange the agenda and have themselves understand what's going on. They they're they're basically dragging their feet. Don't want to give the materials. Don't want to look it up. And is is there any sort of um I think it's called the uh peer people? Peer review? Yeah. Is it okay? >> do you want me to answer that? Yes. Or you continue? Um we had agreed with the applicants in the first hearing to discuss things in a certain sequence. And the first thing was going to be the contamination issue. The second thing was going to be the flood plain issue.
Well, good evening everyone and uh thank you for this opportunity. We do have our strings program tonight that we're going to uh put our spotlight on. Um I'm going to get out of the way very quickly because there's a performance that's going to go on for you and we do have some kids in the directors of the program, Mr. Daniels and Miss Church are here and they are uh fresh off their big performance of the Z. So, if I can have Mr. Daniels come on up, Miss Church. Good evening. Uh, on March 31st, the entire Dartmouth school's strings program of 230 students spanning grades 6 to 12 presented a community centered concert at the historic Ziterian Theater in New Bedford. The theme for this concert was I got your back. In preparation for this performance, students have been engaging in team building activities to spread kindness to each other and build community throughout the school year.
After scoring a hat trick the other day against Pope Francis, but she now has 12 after scoring that goal earlier on. Pellegrino gets the ball up. The ball's empty. Stick check. McKechnie comes out with it. Gets the ball over the restraining line. Goes through one, two, takes a sidearm shot, and it is an Don't know I'm Don't know yet. McKechnie's going to get get a yellow card. Looks like she hit an Agawam player with the ball as she took the shot. And we'll be back after trainers are coming out onto the field. >> We're back McKenzie Kylie Moreno as Agawam will have a two-man advantage. I don't know for how much longer. Kylie Moreno's penalty should be winding down. They get the ball to the Rock. And the Spartans get called with for a uh too many men on that side of the field. Yep, Spartans got called with too many too many men on the field.
If not, I'll go on to the next one, which is approval of the ESS summer program. Mr. President, members of the board, I ask if we could um uh table this at this time. We're still reviewing this again with Tyler, so uh we're going to go back and get more of his feedback before we go forward with this. You're going to get more of the information? Yeah, we got to have it by Wednesday. Uh if we don't have it by Wednesday, then we'll just we just won't have it on the agenda for tomorrow. Yeah, I got it. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Next up, classroom site fund performance pay. Yes, Mr. President, members of the board, um per uh ARS 15-977, classroom site fund revenues are allocated to support teacher compensation. The district will distribute classroom site fund monies as performance pay to eligible certified teachers in accordance with the district's approved classroom site fund plan.
But um it's very hard to get an audit firm to come down to Aaho uh and take the uh district under their wing. And so the audit firm we currently have is just really underperforming and it's causing a lot of headaches that we're currently going through right now. Move to capital. Well, so that's M. You can see the I'll actually close this up. The general budget limit is really the number you need to look at. And so if you look from the adopted budget again, which what we the board approved in July to where we're revising, we're seeing a difference of about 88,000. Um, and that is largely in some one-time spending adjustments that were done in the prior year that we're correcting into this budget. If you look at the capital side, um far less changes, but kind of similar story. So you have um the adjusted DAA or district additional assistance.
So, um, you know, it's not even cuz you could you could go to this part where it says, you know, the precious time it has each month, the time during the schoolboard meeting, but if you haven't prepared appropriately for the meeting, then you're going to be wasting time, you know, at the school board meeting. Um, so I think it just all goes to like are we all walking in integrity >> and and acting in integrity in the way that we're doing this work together? And one of the things, thank you for sharing that Katie and one of the things that comes to me also integrity is reminding people that integrity is the extent of what we've allowed others to expect of us. And that's all it is really. Yeah. So if I tell Miss Shapiro, hey, I'm going to give you this breakdown by 2 p.m.
So, it was little things like find somebody who has the same mascot as you, or find somebody who shares your same opinion on cell phone use, or it was just little things like that that was able to get you into the environment to set up. And then, they had the introduction and the purpose of the summit, where they just went over the schedule and everything. Then, you split up. You were given a little ID that had your name on it and it told you which group you were in, and so you would go through that. And so, one of the breakout rooms was student involvement preparation, the second one was advancing technology, which Yume led and he will talk a little bit more about later. Then we had lunch and then another breakout room about life after high school. And then our fourth breakout room is something we all know a lot at DGS and Downers Grove South in general.
And then you can see the last 2 years they've kind of um balanced back out to where they normally are. And that's pretty standard the one to three. >> Mhm. Um so like the average increase over the last 5 years was the 3.8%. Um and then you can see you know I put the actual total basic grant. And then I just wanted you to know like, you know, over the last 5 years, we've, you know, lost $500,000 because of our declining enrollment, you know, because that would have been funds that we would have, you know, had had we had the state level, you know. >> From students. But, we haven't um lost any opportunities for students that we offer, and we've um uh been able to provide increases to salary uh raises. >> Services like counseling, and we'll talk about that. >> Yeah. So, that's a big Mhm.
Move approval. Second. We have a motion and a second regarding the six consent items. Are there any questions or comments? >> [snorts] >> Hearing none, all those in favor do so signify by saying I. Those opposed, motion carries. Next we move to personnel recommendations with Michelle Williams. She's hurrying up to the mic. Good evening President Duckworth, school board members. Tonight's personnel recommendations include the following: retirements, resignations, terminations, regular appointments, position reassignment, resignations from extra duty appointments to extra duty, reassignment of extra duty, reassignment of administrative appointments, transfer, after school appointments, summer appointments, and consideration of the administrative appointment of Hiya Haywood, head girls basketball coach at Harrison High School. These recommendations are presented for your approval. Move for approval. Second. We have a motion and a second regarding the personnel recommendations.
