Dibella still stays with it, ball still loose. It's Morton comes up with it. I think that's Morton. Morton gets the ball up to Parsons. Parsons kicks the ball up to Devoy. Now the ball's back to Merino, back to Devoy. Over to Whitwer. Goes to Sand. Sand looking to do a little split dodge. She goes through one, two. And it looks like Sand will get herself an 8-m attempt. After Aguon gets themselves, I believe Giovani gets herself a yellow card. Sand 8-m attempt. Sand runs it in, gets knocked away. Aguon comes up with it. Mac Whitwer fighting with it. Aguon player knocked the ball out of bounds. Mack Whitmer with the ball, gets the ball into Pellegrino over to Sand. Sand tries it again. Nothing there. Gets the ball up to Whitmer. Whitmer calling out a play. It's ball over to Pellegrino. Gets ball gets his place.
>> What was it? >> Monitoring. >> Vision and goals. Gold monitoring. Heather, would you mind reading that description for us that we move around on make sure on the same page? >> Reviewing, discussing, and or accepting, not accepting goal uh monitoring reports in accordance with the monitoring calendar. >> There you go. That section, my friends, we call the golden minutes section. So, that one is vision and goals monitoring. You spent 36 minutes on it. All right. Consent agenda. Where might that fall? Vision and goals, vision and guardrails, monitoring accountability, communication and collaboration, continuous improvement, or other? >> Other. Why other >> um it's not any of the activities above kind of just stuff that we have to do like as board members like me and donations and >> there is one kind of in the middle of the document that'll speak to what you just said.
And you were also enticed because we were saying, "Hey, if you fill it out now, you'll you'll be eligible for the raffle of a $5 cafe credit." I don't know if either of you or your friends managed [clears throat] to Okay, good. So, not sure if this helped, but um, our goal was 95% response rate, um, which is very high if you ever issue a survey. We achieved 95.9%, which is about as much as we could [applause] get. So, >> [applause] >> very happy [clears throat] to achieve that. Um again, it ensures that we will capture all of the points from the state. Um we don't know whether that'll be a differentiator. They're changing some things this year, but at least we're we're guaranteed to to get those points. Um again, people respond to um statements. Hank, I just have a slide with all of this the statements.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, imagine. So >> imagine nothing changing because as as much as it's hurting everyone statewide. Yeah. I just can't fathom they would let that happen. I'm sure they're getting a lot of chatter from their Yeah. and their various school corporations. Yeah, yeah. And some are already making cuts. Some are >> I seen like in those communications we get from any of the school board. Like there's announcements of like Brownsburg, Hamilton, Southeastern, Westfield. >> how much money they're losing. If we're we're a small corporation and we're losing 2.3 million or or projected to lose that. You know, so I can't imagine what they're Yeah. And a lot of them have like brand new you know, buildings they just built built and now how they're going to maintain those. And so then another thing we wanted to talk about was the debt service fund.
Any questions or comments? Like the annual review Do we do this annually? I'm just >> No. No, this is more of a total district uh study to look at capital needs at our buildings. Uh I think it's good to get an outside group to be able to look at long-term planning so we can plan on budgeting and what projects that they feel like need to be addressed. Thank you. Do you use this information to help develop your 3-year plan? Absolutely. Yeah, it it'll be very helpful for long-term planning. Yeah. And that that is done each year. They can stay or you can move their priorities. Correct. We can always reference back to that. It'll be great for the planning for the future for long-term. Right. Okay, great. Any other questions or comments? All right, the next information item is the property tax base and revenue analysis, Dr.
And then the play um the play was interesting. >> [laughter] >> So, yeah, I I did enjoy it. Um yes. Thank you, principals, always. Um welcome, Dr. Esparza. Um also, the the play, yes, I I did love the play. Um and I think you it's been mentioned a couple of times about the auditorium. Um I know that that sound system, oh my goodness, those kids, but they are phenomenal for doing such a great job through it. You know, nice things cut out and they just keep going. It's They're They're awesome. Um I just um had just had some communication here a little bit about about class sizes and things. Um I just wondered if there's a way maybe we look at our class sizes maybe in general across the board at the school and and elsewhere and see where are we projected to be and are we, you know, well supported student class sizes throughout um I know we always have changes and and things are we accommodate and things, but if there's something maybe we should look for for the next school year.
And so the the reason that we have this program is because students will come into the school, they will learn English, but at the same time they would be able to keep their language and their culture at the same time. Um, and so, you know, in the past we haven't had that many Latino students in the program. We really try to keep it 50/50, but those are the um the families that we really try to target to be able to close those gaps, the ones that we talked about previously with about our ELLL students. >> And and that was going to be my next question because I was like, is Kamantis only ELLL students for the community? No. So, we have some individuals who are like English natives who whose primary language is English in the program and then we have individuals who their primary language was Spanish.
>> I think we have to >> Yeah, >> wait and see. >> Wait. I personally I' would rather wait and see and what comes up with town meeting. That's just a thought on my part. I mean, I'm not expecting any >> second >> curve balls, but >> okay. >> You know, I mean, I know we've got the meeting on the 8th, which is after town meeting, that's fine, but I'm just, you know, if there's more that needs to be done. >> You want to leave it on the books until the >> Leave it. I I would personally, if we left it on the books and then, you know, cancelled it later, it would be fine. What's the ones in July? >> July 20th. >> Okay. cuz I don't have I don't have that one on my calendar. >> No, >> it's because we haven't Oh, we haven't put them off.
Pellegrino comes up with it only to get knocked down. Spartans ball. Just over 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Pellegrino and Whitmer looking to play a little two-man. Mack Whitmer goes in. Nothing there. Through 1 2 3, count them. Mack Whitmer gets herself another goal. Put the Spartans up 18 to 4 with 3:40 five left in the game. Mack Whitmer's now scored a goal in each quarter. She has seven goals on the game. >> [snorts] [snorts] >> Woo! or Pellegrino on a draw. False start. Redraw. Pellegrino and Rozaro up on a draw. The ball's waiting to get over the line and Puzinski comes up with it. Puzinski going around. Gets the ball over to DiBella. Kicks the ball to Rozaro on top of the key, up on top. Aguon with the ball. 2 minutes left in the game. Tries to feather it in. The ball gets disrupted.
I'll give you a hint. It's under vision and guard rails. I mean values and guard rails. See if you can find the description. Would it be monitoring accountability under voting? >> Yep. >> Could you read that voting description for us? >> The board debating and/or voting on any item voting on goal guardrail adoption andor scheduled monitor reports and emails are counted elsewhere. Not here. All other incidents of debate voting are never a form of goals and guard rails monitoring. Does everyone see why it's monitoring accountability and voting? I'll give you a hint. you'll know it's monitoring accountability voting anytime it has to do with consent or action items. That's your that's your hint for that one. >> So I kind of gave you the answer. What is action items? >> Oh, I don't know. Maybe monitor and accountability. >> Yeah. So any voting items are going to fall under that's not related to goals and guardrails votes.
So, students, in addition uh in addition to students, staff, including staff members and teachers, respond to a survey, as well as families. And they're each um group is offered up a a series of statements. You can see a lot of statements. Um almost almost a hundred. Um little lower [clears throat] on the families, but um these are aligned to those 14 dimensions, and people uh rank if they strongly agree that Likert scale agree, agree a little, disagree, or strongly disagree to each of these statements. And then you can see um and in in addition to the individual responses there, um what we're going to look at are the combined responses, which is the median numbers. And anything 3.6 or higher is considered positive. Um 2.5 to 3.5 is neutral, and 2.4 or lower is negative. Flip to that. That just captures each group. Um the student, staff, and family.
Um talking about you know, basically we wanted to look at Annette and I had a meeting with Ice Miller and Baker Tilly earlier and you know, Baker Tilly had done up I gave you guys all a little their presentation. But basically just did a recap of what our existing you know, debt service is looking at and the payments and when they're you know, when these the debts are coming off. And then [snorts] also it shows the calculation of our general obligation debt capacity. So basically how much money we can you know, do in geo bonds. Um the maximum amount not saying that that's what we should do. Um and then if we were to do one, Ice Miller did up a table like a timetable of when we would need to do things. obviously, if we're going to uh issue a geo bond at the end of this um calendar year.
Underwood. Thank you again, Superintendent members of the board and Dr. Hoover. This item I'm bringing to you as a proposed engagement with policy analytics to conduct a detailed analysis of our property tax base and long-term revenue outlook. This will help us better understand our assessed value trends, circuit breaker impacts, and our overall capacity to support future capital investments.
Um maybe have an opportunity to do that. Thank you. Um so I went to the musical Saturday night, not thinking that it would be um packed. It was packed. Like usually like it had three performances and they did such a good job, but yes, the sound system, oh. That's but they they do they work around it and they did a a phenomenal job. Um and then I went to the plant sale that the FFA had. She does such a good job, and the kids were so so friendly, like so helpful. I mean, they were carrying a tray around following me everywhere. Like I mean, they they just they did a phenomenal job. I mean, the the plants looked good. They were very knowledgeable, so um I know that she's done a lot with the program over there. So that was that was really nice. So thank you guys.
>> Yes. and and we have a two-way program. So what that means is that when you have 50% English learners and 50% Spanish learners, they're learning from each other. And so the the English speakers are learning from the Spanish and the Spanish are learning from the English. And it's really beautiful to see because even if you go into a classroom, um I'm thinking of second grade right off the top of my head is they were doing a turn and talk and one of them was doing it in Spanish but the other one was answering in English because they're learning from each other. One of them was a native Spanish speaker who had just moved here from another country but was able to communicate and the other child was able to communicate with them. And so that's really the goal of our program. They're really learning from each other.
We haven't put them on yet. >> Ah, it's the start of the new year. >> Okay. And then the 31 August 31st. >> Is that what you're looking at? >> Okay. >> All right. So, we're going to send the dates out for all of next year before the next meeting. >> Perfect. Okay. >> Okay. Cool. Um, and also at the next meeting, we'd like to set the date for our annual retreat, uh, in August. Um, so just be prepared to do that. >> Y, so, um, we all got an invitation for the senior prom. Um, so, uh, it's in your email, so just respond to that when you get a chance. Yeah. Uh that is Thursday, May 28th at 6 PM in Newport at the Ocean Cliff. >> Ocean Cliff. >> And just a reminder that the graduations high school is May 31st, Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Pellegrino came out with it. Only get illegal check. Pellegrino with the ball deep into the deep in the Spartans territory. Gets the ball over to Mary DeVoy. Mary DeVoy back to Gray. Over to Burns. Burns goes through one, two. Bur- Burns splits Aguon's defense. Just went through four girls. Gets the ball over the 40. Gets the ball over the 30. Has a defender. Keep going with it, kid. Burns keeps going in and around. Gets the ball over to Illingsworth. Illingsworth behind the cage to Pelletier. Over to Pellegrino. Mary Devoy. Over Lucy Parsons. Over to Illingsworth. Illingsworth behind the net to Peltier. Spartans think they're trying to get the ball to Veronica Burns. Try to let her get in there and defender trying to get her to get her herself a goal. Peltier still with the ball. Gets the ball over to Sand. Sand trying to go through one.
So anything under consent or action are going to fall there. What about future legislative everything all the way to the end? >> those are all other. So for moments of like what I really hope that you can gain from today as well is that you celebrate how far you've come as a team. I would encourage you to look at any random board meeting around you and see what their agendas look like and try to codify their board meeting. See if it flows the way yours does. Are you seeing a no? and see if the time that's spent is more here in this range than anywhere else. >> I like zero. >> Yeah. So, what they say and what they do may not be aligning. You curious to see what your percentage is for this month of April. >> Yes, please. >> 33%. >> Got it.
And all dimensions across all audiences, it's it's positive. It's 3.6 or higher, which is phenomenal. Then the next slide captures some more detail. It's easier to see on this handout that I created for you. If you want to take a look at that instead, you can see the student, staff, and family numbers. And then next to it, which is not up on the slide, is the national benchmark um for it as well. So, this is comparing us to other high school districts across the nation who also take the CSCI. So, it's a specific group. But, um I've also highlighted for each category for this year's uh the green if it's an increase from last year or red if it's a decrease and if there's nothing then it's then it's the same as last year, which is pretty incredible when you look at it and consider that we had so many more students responding and there wasn't that much variation in the results.
Um but I know and I was going to talk about um the capital projects and equipment needs that we're Yeah. Still have. You want me to Yep. Okay, so the debt service fund is important, as you know, because this is how we get those projects done. Capital projects is I hate to say it, but it's small peanuts, as I just said. So, the use of geo bonds and lease rental bonds is what we have done. And um so it's to me it's it's wise to use them. We just finished the lease rental of of the three projects that we're doing now. But what I see from the list of Stacy's spreadsheet, remember the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing? If I look at that spreadsheet, and if you guys recall that there are some items that need to be done pretty pretty quickly or or soon, which would include fire alarm systems, um some chillers.
