I just wanted to know the timeline and locations. Is there a set a schedule for for the distribution of the furniture? I know that some of the school sites haven't even from the last measure. Um so I want to know is do we have a timeline to know when some of >> Yes. >> Patty can you come to the mic? Sorry. Thank you. >> Yes, as uh I as I explained on the Friday letter uh or uh the report to the board, um we yes, we do have a line item um for uh 21st century classroom classroom furniture uh to be funded through measure K. uh that line item appears or that scope of work appears on our first uh bond series which is series A and uh the way we approached it is um unlike uh measure H where we did 50% of all the classrooms we are planning on furnishing uh the all the schools um at a rate of maybe four to five classrooms um per school.
Uh the reason is um we have we know that we're uh we have classrooms we have decline in enrollment. So we it's a it's a way to really figure out uh the the classrooms that could receive you know that could receive f uh furniture um while not just looking at it as a blank statement you know 50% when we know that there's classrooms that you know are used for other purposes. So um we we know that measure the series A is a fi it's 5 years long right that's how long the duration of that series so the project has not started uh it could be started maybe in year two year three uh it takes some time to uh plan it um with measure age there was like uh some type of um a process of um like a selection process or or basically uh teachers applying for the the furniture.
So that was um that work was done in conjunction with uh it was basically um at that time it was Manuel Cologne and um and then Brad Manami. So we had there was a committee that was formed. So um we probably want to do the same uh in the future. It's just that we haven't started yet, but we know that we will in maybe a year or so. Are you looking at spaces that the school the whole school uses like a library and things like >> uh right now we have it as um just classrooms but um if there are savings we would probably look at at spaces like that or we might just go ahead and cons maybe do special accommod um uh we might I don't want to say trade but maybe look if there's no need for additional furniture in classroom rooms.
We might want to allocate those dollars to other types of spaces like libraries. >> Now, uh I want to say that those schools that are receiving larger projects or will be undergoing uh larger modernizations, we plan on obviously approaching the uh the furniture or what we call FFN um at a larger scale. Right. So if we are um obviously you're talking about student if the student population is larger or >> no let's say if our projects are larger such as let's say Walker you know you're going to have a full modernization new construction or you know Western is also uh we're looking at a new building there we're not going to be bringing old furniture into new construction right so it's that's treated a little differently sim similar to what we did at Dale that pretty much that school received the whole school new furniture.
But that's kind of how we're approaching the the project. And you know, if there are savings, if there's a need, you know, just oneoffs, then we would be looking at that. >> Any other comments or questions? No. Thank you, Patty. Um, all in favor? >> I a 5-0. >> Uh, we'll take 12.10 through 12.12 together. >> So move. >> Second. Uh any comments or questions? All in favor? >> I I na >> I you that was a >> you that was a yes right that was I absent >> I >> that's a 401. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Uh moving on to 13 advanced planning. Uh 13.1 future meeting dates. The next meeting of the board of trustees will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2025 at 6 pm. 13.2 suggested agenda items. I did have uh two items um that I would like to bring forward to future uh board meetings.
Uh the first one would be discussing entering into a community workforce agreement with the Los Angeles Orange County's Building and Construction Trades Council, including exploring opportunities to expand our student apprenticeship pathways, career readiness in the skilled trades, and promote local hiring goals. >> I would support that. >> So what is it that you wanted? >> Um a community exploring a community workforce agreement with the Los Angeles uh Orange County building and construction >> into it or you want to bring something forward? bring something forward >> without how are we going to look into it before we bring it forward >> look into it and bring it forward in a future meeting I believe we've done this in the past um so looking into prior work and how we can continue and explore um not just the agreement but also look at opportunities to expand our student apprenticeship pathways um so I think Amir said uh second um so thank you appreciate that um and then the second item uh is discussing establishing ing a AUHSD hall of fame to recognize and celebrate individuals who have made a lasting impact on AUHSD schools and the broader community.
I know some of our sites have individual hall of fames like Nam High School has one. Cypress just celebrated their inaugural hall of fame, but looking at a district-wide hall of fame. >> Interesting. >> Are you looking at like a committee to evaluate this or >> we can discuss having a committee to look into >> see the process and how it would work and >> how it works. Yes, I know. uh parameters >> parameters. I know uh Senate Unified has a districtwide hall of fame. Um so might be good to look into other school districts. Um >> yeah, so trustee Jessica Ger and I uh board president, we talked about this. So what we're working on is developing some parameters, categories, all those things to bring to the board at a future board meeting for you guys and to look at and to discuss. So not just starting from scratch, but we'll have something that you can look at.
Um, so we're I'm working with John Batista and we're hopefully uh probably won't be June, but sometime after that we'll be able to have a draft for you to look at. >> Cool. >> Any other items? Seeing none, u motion for >> just a minute. There's one more item that the the board president's always supposed to take at this point in time. You know what that is? >> Oh, yes. We are moving into summer. Uh thank you Mr. O'Neal for reminding me. Uh moving into summer summer wear is now appropriate uh giving the June July month. Yes. >> Thank you Mr. Very important item to discuss. >> Okay with that uh open to >> so moved. Second. All in favor? >> I >> we adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Thank you everyone. I know it.

a strong accomplishment that reflects hard work and academic potential. We also have one student who earned the rising scholar award, placing them even higher among approximately the top 10% of students in the entire nation. This recognition is national, meaning these students are being compared to and honored alongside students from across the country. I would like for my early scholars to come up. Dusty Wley, come on. John Wade, Michaela Vanderhol, Austin Smeco, Our last is the early rising is the rising scholar which is Morgan. Congratulations to all of the preacct recognition awards. Good job, guys. Okay, next award is the governor scholar which is presented by Jamie Whitig, our superintendent. With this award, we want to recognize an outstanding academic honor in the state of Kansas. The Kansas Governor Scholar Program is coordinated by the Kansas Board of Regents and honors the top academic seniors across the state.
Whitler comes up with the ball. Whiter gets the ball over the restraining line, gets the ball to Mckne. Spartans uh Spartans are done with the easier teams this season as they're going to have to clean up their games getting into the rest of the pres get the rest of the way. as they're going to be facing in the tournament. They'll be probably facing Westside or Miniar a couple more times. M Whitler goes in and out. Nothing there, gets the ball over to Mckne. Mcknney goes around the corner. She can beat that one defender. Gets the ball over to Kylie Marino. Kylie Marino turns around and gets the ball into the back of the net. That's how the Spartans like to start it. Good job by Kylie Marino to come off the defender and go with that power side left hand, score a goal. And I was saying the Spartans going to have to clean it up coming into the rest of the season.
Each year, students must rank in the top 1% of the graduating class. This year's award goes to Payton Morris. At this time, we would like to recognize two outstanding students with a very special honor this year, the Kansas State High School Activities Association Citizenship Award. The KSHSAA citizenship award is presented to students who exemplify what it truly means to be a positive representative of their school and community. These students demonstrate respect, responsibility, integrity, and leadership both in and out of the classroom. They are the kind of individuals who lead by example, treat others with kindness, and consistently make choices that reflect strong character. This award is not just about participation or achievement. It's about though you are a person and how you impact those around you. Today we are proud to recognize two students who embody these qualities every single day. Our first award winner is Miss Mallerie Darnell.
>> Had all those easy teams handling them pretty good, getting a little sloppy at times. But now the rest of the season, >> heading into the rest of the season, it's, you know, we have tonight we have West Springfield, then we'll end up having Minihog. More than likely, we're going to face Minichog, West Springfield, and Northampton in the Western Mass playoffs and then go on to the States. So, not an easy road for the Spartans heading into the rest of the season. M Whitler on the draw. Ball goes up and around Mary Devoy in there. knocks it loose. Ball gets over to M Whitler. Mac Whiter picks it up and I don't know what happened to Marino. Marino's on the sideline now. I don't know. Hopefully everything's okay with her. Is there's a turnover from the Spartans, which we can't have that. And Mckneney slows the the pace down.
Our male award winner is Mr. Landon Wood. Our next presenter is Carla Mudson with the Daughters of the American Revolution. This year we're hearing a lot about the American Revolution. Well, I belong to the daughters of the American Revolution and every single one of our members has verified that we had a ancestor that was loyal to the American cause 250 years ago. Our goals with the FDA are are patriotism, historic preservation, and education. And in um honor of that, we would like to give an award for a good citizen this year. And the award goes to Stan Bell. I would like to welcome Vita Jones who will present the Chamberlain Rush Memorial Award. I didn't know we had a perfect gentleman here today. Two of them. Thanks, guys. Hey, hey, hey. This is a good day, right? >> Yes. >> Are y'all excited out there?
Good job by Ava Pelgro to disrupt that pass. Pelgrino still with the ball. Over to Mckne, over to Dvoy, over to Pelgro, over to Illingsworth and another turnover from the Spartans. Billings were trying to get that ball over the pellet. Ball gets disrupted and now Westside comes up with it. Luckily enough, they throw the ball away. Avery Morgado with the ball. Gets the ball over to Lucy Parsons. Parsons over the restraining line. Parsons tries to go in. Nothing there. She goes around the the cage. Parson turns around, takes a shot, misses wide. Good job by Illingsworth to back it up. Illings with Illingsworth with the ball. Gets the ball over to Pelgro. Illingsworth over to Mckne. Ke looking to do a little split dodge. Keney goes by one, goes around the back of the cage. Turns around, finds Mary Devoy and balls knocked loose and Lewis off to the races as that's the Spartans.
>> We're pretty excited. And if you can make it just one more day, you're going to be official. It It's be in the books, as they say. And that's the way Mr. Chamberlain of Ohio felt. He was 90 years old when he decided to do this award and he rode a bus from Ohio walking with two canes. So don't think he had tough buddies. He made it down here and he didn't live here, never had lived here, but he fell in love here from a teacher and Miss Rush was her name. And so he wanted to do something for the school and the community. And that's what this job uh Chang Rush award is all about. Community service, what you've already accomplished. We don't know what you're going to accomplish ahead, but we know what you've accomplished. We watch you all four years. So be careful what you're doing, people.
I fourth turnover already maybe. I think that's I think that's four turnovers on the Spartans and got to clean it up going into the uh playoffs, girls. Ball thrown into the middle. Luckily for us, another turnover from Westside as Julia Gray comes out of the cage with it. Gets the ball over to Burns. Burns down the sideline. Goes by one, goes by another. She gets triple team. Good. Good pass over to Pellegrino. Pellegrino with a ball. She picks it up. She gets knocked from behind. No call. Pelgro still stays with it. And now East Law Meadow with another unforced turnover only for West Springfield to turn the ball right over. Mac Whiter. No. Hannah Eddie picks it up. She gets the ball over the restraining line. She goes by one. Hannah Eddie goes in, drives in. Nothing there. Gets the ball over to Illingsworth. Illingsworth to Pellegro.
But anyway, you from now on you will be making choices and every day first choice you make is you get up and are you going to be sad? Are you going to be happy? It's your choice. Remember that. And I I'm like happy myself as most people notice. Happy is so much easier than being sad. So this year we want to give uh male female. Is that the right pronouns we use these days? Persons we're going to give persons. And then last year I started giving a wild card because we have some wild cards out here. amongst. Yeah. So this year we're going to start off with the female early person female persons. But I have to give you wise words first. Quitters don't win. Winners don't quit. Remember that. And I see nothing but winners out here. So, Mom, Dad, you can breathe. Now, the first person to receive this $100 award to do with whatever you want to, Payton Morris.
And Pelgro will slow it down and start up the Spartans offense. Keney over to Witworth. Whitward were just one-on-one with the defender. Does a roll around, fakes it. Nice save by uh Davis to stop the ball. Mcknne there to pick it up. Kakne sees a little bit of daylight. She gets the ball over to Mary Devoy. Mary Devoy turns around, fires it in the back of the net. Good job by Mary Devoy to turn her around. Point blank, blast one past Davis to put the Spartans up two nothing. 708 in the first quarter. That looking much better on the offensive side for the Spartans. Spartans always seem to play better when they're they're playing at a at a faster pace. Mac Whiter and Chapman up on a draw. Ball goes up. Marino knocks it loose. Ball still on the ground. Mac Whit picks it up, splits the defenders, and gets the ball over the restraining line to start the Spartans offense.
