to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and and that the planning sorry and that the Ann Arbor Planning Commission approves the attached they plan which demonstrates compliance with applicable special exemption use standards and no physical development of the property is proposed to have a commissioner they'll move Commissioner Mills seconded by Commissioner of U Brando we are now in discussion Commissioner Mills thank you not sure if this is this is maybe an engineering question so I am all about bicycle parking that's usually the thing that I ask I'm curious though if the bicycle parking on the ramp is going it's going to leave enough ramp left over for ATA compliance yes it will and also on the the Rob Wagner with the Midwestern consulting also we are putting a stop behind the bicycle so it doesn't roll down the ramp and building up a platform level so that the bicycle stays there but yes it will be they have the width for um a DA access so is it how's that gonna work yep and we have a detail on our on our safe plan sheet but it's a hoop it's fastened to the there's bolts that fasten it to the wood ramp yep got it so it would be two bicycles the business right gonna be right up against the building presumably to lead it leave enough room so it's only one bicycle that's perfect no to two could two could fit there yep to two bicycles could fit there yep in there and we and we're only required one bicycle hoop and we're providing two so one one additional who episode two additional spaces and then I was actually thanks for coming to this screen because I was gonna ask about the bicycle loop around the back and like it's I think that makes a lot of sense if there's door there and there is so that's fantastic yep and there's it I don't know if you can zoom out but there's the detail it's kinda on the right side of the sheet as well so what okay we're good thank you thank you Commissioner of your Brandel stay up if you could so I know we have a distorted view but I guess the first question is as a biker it would be a whole lot easier to park in the right-of-way well is there any discussion about with staff about potentially you know staying out of the main pathway but there's plenty of bike hoops that are in the right-of-way and in throughout the downtown and it would be way more well easier for a biker to use that was there ever any discussion around having that as an option rather than it being completely around the corner and out of the way and something that nobody's really going to notice I could hear it but I could start by saying we went recently went through the Glen hotel and we're asked to move the bike hoops out of the right away so I guess I began that way but we be happy to had at a bike hoop in the right away if that's what the Planning Commission was like this is out of the DDA correct correct because I know they have some standards around some of that and so I don't want to tread on any of that and perhaps mrs.

Thatcher you have some thoughts on what makes sense here it it's something that we could look into but like the Glen which is also outside of the DDA it's a little different than inside the TV right just a little bit easier for placing stuff in there right away right I don't want to hold things up it's more that it just seems not very intuitive as a biker then the other people could you go go back to the I know who's controlling that's me that's you um so typically I have a hard time seeing how it's gonna be - because it needs to be four feet wide if it's - because you need two feet on either side and when I see the dimensioning of the walkway further up it only says it's two feet wide I could see it being next to because you can't the hoops are usually four feet apart with two feet of parking on either side you can actually get your bike in there right so how would you have enough leftover space there to be able to have a hoop and two bikes I mean I would think one would be able to be fastened unlike the north side of the hoop and one fastened on the south side kind of staggered like you would on a bike rack on the back of a car so in other words it's you don't have two feet on either side there isn't a four foot pad there for it that is separate from the the pathway because otherwise that thing would be at least seven feet wide you know because it needs to be at least three the pepero needs to be at least three and we have enough room in the ramp if that is an issue we could put a second hoop in the ramp and we could provide for two bikes that it's not even that I think you should do more or less it's more just just being real about how many bike parking spots you actually have because I see this and think it's really one not two the way the detail is shown and the way it's represented on the site plan it's 108 is one yeah okay yeah so if you're saying it's one then I'm cool with that I just think that it's really not too because it would need to be four feet wide as somebody who uses these things you can't we are only required one in stating where that's nice I just think like be real about what it is and if it's one and that's what you're required then that's that's okay again I don't necessarily want to hold things up I just want to make sure that it's done in a way that that makes sense for people to be able to use it so yes ma'am and then the other pieces I don't quite get where the entry is for you are you taking over the the bakery both both spaces the the entrances will stay the same so we'll have the both both entrances so we're taking over both the the bakery and the record store there is 20 it says 2,100 square feet of space QPS Holdings is only finishing out at this time for 1400 of that which is the ground level which the ground and ground ground level in the mid mid level so then people will be using generally speaking people will be using the the current bakery entrance as the way to get in and out that'll be the entrance and there'll be the check in there and then the the kind of mid-level up will be where the showroom is there's an exit from that from that area as well so they would exit out of a separate entrance okay I just didn't quite get how that was working already that's it you know further discussion mr.

breaks in the general use for the area I was wondering and I think you may have just answered the question on this one but is that their ramp intended to be used for ATA purposes in terms of wheelchair access or is that because I was noticing that it seems to be an area where a lot of trash cans are being stored as well so how's that what is that entry used for yeah I mean if you had the different view you would see there's the width you know at least three feet that would provide for barrier-free access on that this side of the the trash cans and we're not we're not actually proposing that many refuse containers that you see that they're using right now yeah I don't we wouldn't create that level of garbage on a regular basis I'm not sure why there's so many there but people we would be creating a lot less I believe we have a separate trash enclosure right over there Jannik we're showing two we're showing two containers yeah on sheet four different there talk to cut up towards the building to leave the access on the side what's the purpose of that entryway what where's that lead it just leads to the back of the property no customers would be using it there is that bike hoop back there but all the customers be using those front two entrances mr.

woods so if I could just follow up that entrance that we're looking at right now that will be a DA accessible correct but you're saying that all customers will use the front entrance which is down on the street where it's like someone sitting yeah what we've contemplated is putting a lift between that lower level and and internally leading up to the top if somebody needed a DA access I'm not sure if that door and that ramp will be a DA compliant I'm not sure we haven't I don't know if we've done that level of detail look at it but we have contemplated an internal lift to bring people up to that that mid level so when you say you've contemplated I think part of what we need to at least I need to be able to understand is how folks who need that access when you say you're contemplating that's something you might do in the future we'll do it now we're having that the space designed on the interior yet top top don't probably get into some of those if you can go back to the site plan real quick Jill so there's a number of accesses to the building right there parallel with Packard there's the existing building entrance that's at the first level then the by level entry is at the ramp or the door there with the stairs and landings so we think that the landing with the stairs and the ramp were to service the user that currently had that record store area so it had their barrier free and stepped non barrier free access then there's also a door on the back near where the back parking bike parking is so that door the door on the ramp would be used for loading and unloading and then customers would enter parallel to Packard and then have a lift or ramp internal to the building that would get them to that buy level spot so it's actually once you get inside the building it's the mid level or by level floor where someone would actually get checked in that sort of things that checking on the grounds up then you go upstairs the correct and in order to get upstairs you'll have a lift or something for people who are ADA a correct and how will how will folks who might need the ABA components how will they know about that if they're just coming down the sidewalk how does that usually work what is do you have plans for a signage or anything like that their main door with their business name would be on the door too Packard welcoming saying entrance on it okay and then would you have something that would indicate with a sign or something to go side or something I'm trying to understand this if you were a customer of the of QPS Holdings you would enter the door at Packard which is zero grade 88 Oh capable and then if you're in there and you're moving to the next by level part there would either be a lift or a small internal ramp that you would use like a hall ramp to get to that second level all right and then there would be you know the ramp would serve as an emergency exit if needed okay so that there's two rows thank you and so miss that year I guess we don't normally go into detail about the setup inside of the building okay okay I don't know that we've had many that had this sort of second level part to it and that will be that excess will be required by building code before they can get a certificate of occupancy okay so a wheelchair user or someone else would have to would have to have that access before the business could open okay and so is that then something that's just going to be covered where it's or where would where would it indicate that on their on our motion it means just that well our motion says that they are required to obtain a city of Ann Arbor medical marijuana permit in order to get a permit you must have a certificate of occupancy okay all right yeah thank you and I just I've engaged a local architect who's working on that plan from Hobson black who's pretty familiar with the city who will make sure that we'd meet all the requirements in terms of a DA and access and all those things and if I made just two just a electric ihcafe and that that multilevel provisioning center just like with that one as well until they if they do decide to use the lift or if they find that it's it's more convenient for them to provide a small dispensing area for people who would require to have you know would normally require a lift then they would obviously use that you know technique as well as opposed to having them to have to go upstairs just bringing it down to them as long as there's a secure and private area for that to occur on the ground floor okay so fairly disappointed in the disappearance of pastry peddler but which is the closest to my office but one of the questions I had was one of the things that you see a lot is although you have no parking Bava dairy does have what looks like quite a lot of parking for the average person and I know that they are very particular about that parking because they use it and that's kind of they count on it have you spoken with them or talk to them or encouraged or kind of made it clear to are you gonna make it clear to your patients that there will be no parking there because I can see that being a big yeah I think well yeah I will put some kind of signage that effect and I think will notify people we're hopefully gonna have a good relationship with our neighbors that's the intention so you have a will will be extra focused on that yeah cuz I just think that could be a you know in our hope is that hopefully most of our customers will be coming from the immediate vicinity that's the expectation so and then I think along with the traffic being discussed in the future like the pedestrian and that is a big problem and and people go straight across and I imagine you'll get that same you know people coming from the neighborhood coming straight across rather than going to one of the lights all I see um and just again if you can kind of just tell people that that's probably not the best until I assume somehow that will be dealt with when the city is but I that that's a that's a big problem right there and pastry peddler didn't help that cuz a lot of people would run across the street and sure my characters wanna yeah and campus corner door is right there too so that's just another it's not I mean it's not your fault but sure no it's a consideration it just kind of thing I think one thing also that's being discussed alongside the plan that was that was thought out with with regards to traffic and with the traffic engineer but also to when there's there's some marketing things that they want to incorporate as well that will make it more attractive to people who live you know within the general vicinity people who show a bus pass people who come in on a bird you know and just be able to kind of go hey today's you know today's you know bike bike in day or you know kind of went walk-in Wednesday and allow those people you know kind of build the building like that build that sense of walkability through promotions and things of that nature and also whether engaging them they have an opportunity to tell them hey you know cross the crosswalk please don't cross don't run across here and I don't think that when you look at the I think that while they're next to campus corner they won't have the same clientele as campus corner and I think that the people who will be you know the patients who will be using this facility and their clients will be a little bit of a little bit more mature age and probably a little bit less likely to you know want to play Frogger States traitor Packard and you do have the parking spots right in front so that's right and in fact believe it or not my Barber's around the corner and he does my beard all times a day usually if I you know if you do want to drive there I've had I don't know maybe I have extremely good luck but I've always found that there's been a parking spot or a meter available and I mean I'm talking Saturday morning the barber shop is full and you know every morning I find a spot and I'm just kind of like Oh must be my day but I guess not if the other people died so I guess I'm not that lucky but point being is you know there there are other parking spots out in front but they want to encourage local traffic and foot traffic any other discussion commissioner get Brandel so I don't want to beat a dead horse but I'm confused by something when I look at your site plan I see ramp and I see two lines on either side of it then I see a section where the bike hoop parking is going to be and then it narrows quite a bit and I see a door could you go to the photo that shows the side of that building to me that looks like the ramp goes all the way up to the edge of that corner so does that mean that your bike hoop is on the ramp itself like it is at an angle yeah but our site plan shows that we have a stop behind it and we're building up a platform to make it level so planning staff did catch that and we addressed it by so you're making Josh the bike hoop level or the bike pad level yeah we're building kind of like a level landing for the bike hoop so how do you get the bike up to the level landing you just lift lift it up on there you lift it up yeah the the ramp is roughly eight feet around so if you were riding your bike you'd stop at the ramp wheel it up set it and lock it up so ramp in the bike space yeah a level like that so you'd wheel it up and walk it to the hoop okay this just seems awfully convoluted like isn't can we just put up a fight hoop on this street out there it just seems in trouble as it wouldn't be a Class B which is required trying to accommodate the Class B code requirement putting it under the awning I mean the other opportunity would be to slide it further down we we only have two of the two of the you see how there's four right containers we're only having two containers of that spot so where those two black containers are where it's flat we could slide it down the wall there it's not even the issue for me it's more just that I don't think as a cyclist that I'm gonna go around the corner and think that there's a ramp with the face right there and so again like you know I don't want to stop you guys up but it just seems like geez in order we just have a bike hoop in that you know not in the main pathway but it was what 11 feet wide the sidewalk was there 11 something you know can there be one that's parallel between those two parking meters yeah you know just I don't know it just feels we can do it anybody else feels really because it just it it feels so counterintuitive to go around the corner of a ramp to use as a cyclist and I think it's great that you all are doing a bike hoop I just would like to see it something that's more used there's no street tree there there's nothing else in the way you can't like put a wheelchair down through there anyway because you already have the parking meters there could we just move it around the corner so it goes in the right of way and area that you know it's 11 feet it's worse another place yes actually there's already things in the way anyway yes I think and we're discussing here I think that we get so caught up in these projects with what we you know like should do we don't think about like what what we could do and I mean we're standing here and we're just like why don't we just do both I mean a Class A or Class B is required yeah so we'll put the Class B in the most you know appropriate place on the side but then also go above and beyond and say this is not required but let's just do one on the street as well wherever it conforms and I think that that if that were a condition I don't think that that would be something that would be to put a bike coop in the public right away requires a license agreement and a lot of time and effort from the City Attorney's Office to create the agreement and everything but I think we have an opportunity can you go back to the site plan real quick do you see all the buildings that's kind of with a sliver of land between the building and the right away yes if we could attach you know they make the hoops the steps I'm gonna say it's like a garden hose yeah older if we could attach something there we would at least get one bike parking spot there and it would be a dimension likely I don't know what are they usually 12 inches 18 inches off of the wall which would fit in that section the outside of the right away and could be usable by you have your six foot clear you know what I'm saying in terms of that along the walk in terms of it ready exactly then I think that sounds great you know they happen because I get it I got again I don't want to hold you guys up and I understand that that takes a lot of doing but it would be it's you see so many bikes chained to trees and things like that in this area and go before like if you're encouraging people to get there in that way then I think it would be great to have an option and if you see between between the window and the brick there would be a pretty good spot for I mean the the tables and chairs wouldn't be there obviously but yeah right like to get the Class B we need that covered overhang and so that would just be the condition that we need to find a space for it but I think it sounds like additional is part of the support of the business so I'm in support of the project in that regard in terms of other things that we usually cover we talk about ours operations pretty often and I would just say that this aligns with everything on the block so I'm in support relative to that sure consistently check the boxes that we usually discuss to make sure that it's good I think yeah I support kind of and it sounds like the business supports the additional exploration I don't want to hold you guys up but to have that kind of desire for you to do it would be great to see mr.

Ackerman Thank You mr. chair miss Thatcher do you have a recommendation for to add a sixth condition just spell out a hypothetical bike hoop not contained in the site plan yeah I'm struggling with it a little bit because I'm concerned that the bike hoop will go on private property but the bike will be on the sidewalk so I hate to make it a condition of approval because it might not be possible could it be explored mm-hmm yeah yeah goodsoon effort yeah right so I would move to amend the motion to add a sixth condition I would say the petitioner will work with city staff to explore the possibility of adding an on wall bike hoop parallel to Packard do we have a second random any discussion on the amendment commissure woods so just since this is a special exception use does that putting that bike hoop against this private property does that mean that that stays with it forever or for how long yeah it's it's a nominal site improvement that would be expected to remain okay and so what do we have are we setting precedent by doing that or what well because you seem hesitant and I know that this is what I like in one the spot kind of idea which has come to us which is important but I don't want to really start making too many changes and then realize down the road that didn't really work even though we thought it would the way the amendment is worded to explore the possibility of an on wall by coupon record I think it doesn't necessarily hold them to the requirement that it being installed if if I go up to city engineering tomorrow and they say no you can't do that that's not an appropriate place for the bike because it's in the public right-of-way we wouldn't want the bikes over there instead then we can start talking about well then let's put it over there you know but I I think that this is worded correctly to start a discussion about it and well not necessarily requiring something that we're not sure can be installed okay sure so that I guess the counter is if we if we go back to a study with the city and are sure that it's okay does that language actually require it to then be implemented the condition just requires the exploration and not the requirement if the exploration shows that it's feasible and also if I may add to the contrary if it's not feasible you know to just have language and then it says I mean one way or another that it's you know the exploring language is a bit vague and I think it couldn't be to some interesting fired move what I hope is a friendly amendment to the amendment the padishah is her condition six proposed conditions sakes the petitioner will explore sorry the petitioner will work with city staff to explore the installation of an on wall bicycle parking spot parallel to Packard and with appropriate staff approvals install such parking bicycle parking can we shoot you down into the belly which include be feasible that Thank You Shannon chimed in with their as I would supported thank you alright any further discussion on the amendment I think I got the feasible in the right place just six petitioner will work with staff to explore the installation of an on wall by coupon Packard and if feasible and with appropriate staff approvals install it right further discussion on the amendment all those in favor of the amendment please say aye aye opposed we're back to the main motion further discussion on the motion all those in favor please say aye opposed thank you thank you very much all right moving on to our regular business which is approval Planning Commission actually sorry regular business 10a the proof of Planning Commission subcommittees and designee z' and we have chart that's here alright so I will read the motion the Ann Arbor City Planning Commission hereby approves Planning Commission committee assignments as presented including elimination of the Allen Creek Greenway committee as designee doe commissioner that move was moved by mr.

Mill's seconded by Commissioner Weatherby I'm happy to discuss now touch your brakes I sent out a message earlier today but if there's anybody trying to hop off a full are seeing of that was kind of a hard sell last time I have thought about it and I'm willing to so that is great news because I wasn't supposed to be in the FRC a I think I've given it up to somebody else so we can just take me off of it and put you on it unless somebody else wants to jump on this point I'm sure so then I'll stay on or see but I'd like to be added a master planning I think that was a Miss from what we agreed during working session we will add you to master planning and put your nose I look over because I don't have a copy over here I think does that not put five of us on the master planning and so I think I volunteered to step off with master planning thank you thank you anybody else all right so just bring us up to speed commissioner Briggs is now on the o.r c-- commissioner mills is no longer on the master plan review commissioner Mel shine is no longer on ordinance revisions and commissioner so away is now on the master plan review is that correct any further discussion all right all those in favor please say aye opposed all right thank you moving on to attend be approval proposed work scope for evaluation and recommendations on downtown building design process I don't know a whole lot of background on this I said that City Council directed the Planning Commission to come up with a proposal for the design review process and this is the first draft it's very tweakable if you guys want to change anything before forwarding it to City Council I don't know how many concerns there are about it or if this is just a first step and changeable in the future discussion and I'm sorry miss Thatcher if you don't know or if this isn't yet determined would the price tag give planning and building services budget or would you be looking I do you know where that budget I don't want to live that's my understanding okay and now that's unrestricted funds I do not know that okay I would say I think you guys put together a really beautiful scope of work I think this is really comprehensive and we provide a lot of value it ultimately when making budget decisions and looking for trade-offs it's a large price tag and I feel like there's so much more pressure from the community to reexamine zoning and engagement process and design standards in neighborhoods more than there is downtown these days and so it would be oh I love the word product the price tag is just it is what it is I wonder if there's a way it says to you know review the downtown guidelines but part of the evaluation is to assess kind of background feedback from other communities and reports and so if the report could that we request that the study actually does a city wide report of the Design Review guide recommendations not just for the downtown design to do so that we have like a holistic report back to look at even if all isn't implemented for the design review process so we're getting more information out of that study I think that would be a substantial increase in the amount of work but if specifically do you wanna be - if we're the five to ten comparison communities based on size of community physical development pattern of community and market comparison right evaluation of voluntary process and codified design requirements via examples of benchmark communities and best practices if if that effort happens to define on what you know the city instead of a district within the city I might be open to you know figuring out what that definitive bound is that that's already an effort to look at example cities and so I'm not sure that would actually be additional work but it might be additional information for us to work with Commissioner Brandon work because the design guidelines are specifically for downtown and downtown downtown's really different than how we do everything else and the design review board only looks at downtown as it is right now so I think that is thinking I think it would be great but I think it's a huge scope scope change because this is contained for our kind of our high-rise zones basically and what I hear commissioner Ackerman saying is that like the stuff that we've been hearing about is up from a lot of neighborhoods too and there are reactions to things we haven't had as much straight downtown development in the last like two years there's been some but there hasn't been as much and I think the the more kind of controversial projects have been things that are further out and we've had some but it's I think that it would be a big scope change to look at the zoning and we don't have the same kind of design requirements for the neighborhood's as we do for the downtown there's all kinds of really specific things around go for floors you have to step back and but yeah I mean there's all kinds of things that just don't exist for the others so I think it'd be tricky to add that on to this at this stage of the game yeah it's right to clarify I wasn't trying to necessarily up the Pandora's box of trying to regulate design you know in outlying areas right that increases costs and increases time and ultimately all that is passed along to home buyers and renters I think I was just saying I I don't feel the it was since this body recommended to City Council implementing some design requirements and City Council passed that I think the quality of the downtown developments we're seeing now are higher I think also that there is a you know learning curve with the community and downtown development isn't as controversial as it once was I mean I think if we've approved multiple developments on South University North Main Street South Main Street here on Parkway or not here here on none of which brought out terrible amount of of community angst I think the last one that was particularly controversial was like 6:15 South Main and and so I just you know in making budget decisions which is ultimately City Council's responsibility this just seems like a large price tag for a problem I'm not positive as still as great as it once was mr.

Mill's I appreciate that Commissioner like that kind of background and putting it in context I think that's right this request was made to us I think like in July so I don't think that things have resolved themselves since July maybe it's more like the idea and councils as perhaps as a sticker shop you know that it would be a super cheap thing and at least what we discussed that I think mr. Leonard has appropriately put in here at that place there has been at some point and probably even in the last couple of months some inks that there are maybe of the buildings in town right and so but what we discussed this networking session but to be kind of on the record about our sense that the Commission was that we you know if other places are not getting ugly buildings we need to find comparable their places and figure out what it is there that they're doing and so that's not I think that among the reasons that the sticker price is what it is is both you have to figure out what it is that you don't like here like articulate what's ugly and was not only another place then find those comps and I think that I would imagine that that's where that Christ had come from so just to let the public know like that wasn't that was part of our discussion is that all of those steps which are I think what out and lots of good bullets here are part of what we see is this effort that you can't just look only at Ann Arbor it really requires me elsewhere and I mean so yeah it is it is a big price tag and I think that you're absolutely right but I don't I don't know that it's worth it because that's maybe not the biggest concern that a lot of neighborhoods do have that I'm associated with and city council did ask us for - to have us take a look at it and come up with a scope of what it would take to evaluate it so I think that's what the Commission is doing here and we're sending that message City Council ultimately where it falls with the budgetary needs and City Council to review and approve just a process question would voting for this affirmative ly simply 7-2 munication to City Council or would it also come with a resolution directing you to issue an RFP I think what were the the resolutions for an hour a few had to come forms they so I think this is just voting to you know if City Council asks us to look at our process and we're going back to them with we're happy to look at it but this is what its gonna require okay then I think you people did an amazing job and I'm grateful for that Commissioner breaks I think based on the working session the other piece that's raising the cost of this is specifically the community engagement outcomes of this that there's a lot built in to be gaining community feedback on perceptions of downtown development and to do a lot of different get feedback from a lot of different stakeholders and that the implementation recommendations suggest that the project scope is to lead to likely increase likelihood of positive community perception so it's because of that increased concern around community engagement I think that's built into this process and increasing the cost I know talking to a consultant recently they were talking about the very big differences in communities that want that community engagement versus those who don't and the cost of of those projects the only thing that I saw in terms of just may be needing a tweaking the second bullet point and background I don't know if I'm the only one I don't know if it's the comma placement I don't quite know what that bullet point is saying it may just be me but others are can you clarify which second bullet point under background review of D 1 and D 2 zoning development standards , and design review ordinance implementation and subsequent amendments parenthesis including publicly stated intentions Ida it's just it may just be me it just feels a little clunky if others are reading that prying through just skip that note but just going down to bullet point 1 8 where we do talk about the comparison communities and maybe this is getting back to the to an earlier comment by one of the commissioners that that is it clear that we're going to be looking at those five to ten communities design review ordinances or what have you for their downtown areas because I think that's important and do you think that this the way we've worded it will will indicate that I think with the scope of D 1 D 2 and and what I'm saying is that the comparison communities that were looking at if they don't they may call it d1 or d2 I don't know what they call it but it would be important because we will probably we could go off and find ourselves out there in that residential where we get a lot of feedback and just as one of the commissioners said earlier but we do want to keep it fairly focused so if that's clear that's fine mr.

Mill's perhaps to clarify that a little bit more the sub bullet underneath there where it starts include examples of design items we could say of downtown design outcomes just to make it clear that we're not talking about those five to ten communities as a whole for the just for the examples - I appreciate the missionary Mills point please say downtown or urban area just think I mean if there's a way that they do outside of their main commercial core they do urban design well I'm still interested in that mr. key Randall has something to say I think different communities define these areas differently and so it's tricky I think in terms of sort of where urban versus you know so I think if it's clear that we're reviewing our downtown design guidelines and these are in reference to that into our D 1 and D 2 it seems like what all of this is saying is within those bounds of comparison communities I don't know if it needs to be I mean clearly if if this is going out for an RFP then things would get you know it would be in a completely different format and all that sort of thing I think the thing that is important especially is that City Council sees that this is about our D 1 D 2 and that we're studying equivalent areas whether they're called urban or downtown or whatever but the equivalent areas in these these other benchmark communities but it seems to me that he's setting the context up at the top that's really what we're looking at here it could be more explicit but it's really in some ways that can be further defined in actual RFP that's my sense of it back to financing a little bit beyond the RFP and the price there's nothing you know recommendations and outcomes that we might have and if there's a price tag to that implementation so the way that the process operates now with staff and committee versus in the future if we're looking at like do we want to know about kind of other background feasibility within those other communities as well if there's a pricing structure like a permitting and review process and if those reviews cost more than our current process to the city because I think going forward with some of those recommendations if the recommended process is more successful that may require more resources to implement beyond the first price tag of the evaluation having kind of a cost analysis of the effort if the recommended effort would be I think a detailed to add in as a bullet point going to they're the ones who are going to create the RFP and move forward if it's it the budget will allow for it I don't know if we need to have that exact language on here I think what I understand what you're so they saying is whether ad weather what their recommendations are end up adding a bunch of cost to the process yeah not that price tag for the person yes executing that RFP so its own analysis if like how it will impact our process and you know if we're adding more months to this what does that mean is that what you're yeah yeah yeah so we add a bullet point that includes you know just like an analysis of the frequency of the design review process if we have an analysis of the price of the procedure to go through the design process to the city into the applicant or any changes to do you want to propose the language and a bullet point and where you'd like commissioner Mills can you help I do and I was actually going to suggest that under performance evaluation the fourth bullet has two sub bullets so what I read that four bullet validation of design review process compared to best practices is was that I was the vial of applications then we're supposed to be understanding the effectiveness of design guidelines versus these best practices you could add a third sub bullet that says like cost of implementation cost implications or something like that yeah let me just clear clear up so it would be under performance evaluations one two three fourth bullet then third sub bullet does states cost implications yes okay yes and so the very last bullet under implementation recommendations original originally as I was reading this as we're talking about it I thought it was okay let's look at it what we're evaluating or like what we currently have evaluated against best practices and might give us a report but wait did I read this the presentation of recommendations and adoption by Design Review Planning Commission and City Council are you also reading that lately we would expect that this effort to take us through making whatever changes are necessary to implement whatever this process comes out with it's the adoption of it if we have it evaluated and come up with something new for that price that's not so but I don't know that that's the intention did anybody else see that so it says so I just read this as recommendations like an evaluation of our current system and recommendations but the very last bullet says the presentation of recommendations and adoption I don't know what we're impacting and I think what that's so I think what we have to remember is that this document is just a recommendation to City Council and City Council from there we'll take it to the next level if they want to and they may or may not want to go through the process of recommendation adoption I think ultimately if we're gonna hire a consultant and spend 75 $250,000 we probably would like to adopt something at that point you're spending the goal should be that we are going to adopt something in the end so no I guess I don't see a problem with that personally most other commissioners it's the case here but occasionally the term adopt is used with respect to studies or plans just to say that it is now part of our planning documents so not like hey we're actually gonna influence implement would probably be the next step [Music] again not having drafted this myself and not knowing the intention of the other okay so so just to be clear if City Council says yep Murray amount of fun this what what you are I think we should know what the outcome would be so that is we have to study this look at what we do what people like you don't like I don't like people like how they may like or not like what happens in other cities that we could bring back here compare how what we do compares to those other cities come up with recommendations for how we can move towards a process that gets us the buildings that we have that we see in other cities that we like and have a report that lays that out that we would say yep we agree with this but not necessarily move the next step to make those changes yes does that okay wait fantastic job okay all right I wanted to add that last step in there for that price but okay mr.

woods this may already be implicit in what we're when we're talking about but under cost implications or maybe right beside it is there a way that we can get information back to us about the perhaps the number of folks in these other communities like if they've got this big planning department which can do everything and anything then I think that's different than the perhaps another community which may be limited in terms of how many folks work in its planning department and what they can do what's on there what's on their agenda or their work scope or whatever we call that would that come under cost implications because it's one thing to say yeah do this they're doing it great and then we say well yeah look at their budget they ought to be doing great stuff why is that something that kind of comes when you have study and that's what the consultant would look at anyway right I don't know commissioner Randall when I based on what you're saying I look at okay we need numbers next time not bullet Zowie one two three four five six seven eight under the evaluation of voluntary process versus codify design that the five to ten comparison communities based on size of community physical development patter to committee market comparison it seems like that market comparison is getting into we're trying to find things that are similar to us that's what I see that as saying that the market compared we wouldn't do something that is wildly different than us in terms of a comparison community that's how I would that it would be taken up within that language and that if you want to modify that bullet to kind of include it that would be the place to do it if you feel like it doesn't say it clearly enough but that's where I feel like they're getting at it is the is the market comparison but also if if you want to add something weird it's this volume of application so maybe we can do volume of applications and size of the planning department or role or something to that effect because human and yeah so volume of applications and planning resources where are you I mean which performance evaluations one two three four fourth bullet number one volume of applications and planning resources okay what do we like to add that yeah that makes sense okay because I know there are you know when Ann Arbor depending on what we're doing we have what we call our other communities comparable and sometimes it's you know people that we sort of our competitors so to speak as being the best of course so you know and and those could have different it changes depending on what you're actually looking at so Fisher Mills right thank you for Commissioner woods brought up something as she was talking I realized that that bullet that I added in that same section and the cost of implementation or cost of process I think it's important to evaluate as you were talking commissioner survey I was thinking about like how costly is this going to be for the city but I also think that we should add something about cost of development getting to the affordability because I mean I know that we often talk about these you know that we want to see beautiful buildings but we don't want to make it so costly that we can't expect it there you know like that the people will make it more fun affordable so I would want to make sure that whether that's taking care of by finding our comps or I want to make sure that portability is referenced summer in this document so it could be so I mean I see it maybe it's a fourth bullet a fourth sub bullet there one being the the costs to our planning process but the second is the cost of the private developers cost of affordability because it could include cost affordability for people who are renting or buying and the cost of affordability for developers because that I think you bring up a great point there because in the end it's not only what it's gonna cost developers ultimately that has passed down to right buyers or renters so implications of on affordability or something like that yeah so the fourth bullet will be what I would say implications unaffordable of an affordability on housing affordability oh boy sounds like perhaps [Music] County's affordable housing needs assessment all of which say very explicitly the longer a project takes to go through the process the more review required and the more we ask of them in terms of architectural design the less affordable it's going to be and I think we just need to build that into our DNA of how we think about trade-offs and how we make decisions I think any product of this will be implied that it makes housing more expensive so we'll so leap the fourth bullet I like I think that maybe that's something nice point well-taken I wonder though if if it's our goal of have you know making sure that we are continually reminding ourselves that this may come with a price tag and encouraging the consultant to put a price tag on that for us is that but I don't know what other people think sure so they who we just am in for project and process cost implications so it covers the project the developer the building owner those project implication cost implications what it means for that site and the implementation of that design and then also the process cost implications as it relates to the city and the planning process and those things so changing the third bullet to instead of cost application implications project and process cost implications yes and then getting rid of the fourth bullet which is currently implications of on affordability as long as when this is translated into the actual an RFP should council decide to issue an RFP that the consultant knows what we mean by that commissioner brakes what Commissioner Ackerman was sane in terms of implications of this necessarily sort of suggests that we're we're leading to a more expensive process I don't think that has to be true if we're looking at best practices we might find that I mean what we have to remember is that we're I mean obviously we're in a voluntary process right now is I mean there's listening too many tables go around and have these sort of discussions that we're having tonight about wouldn't it be nice as opposed to just firmly saying hey this is what our community would like to see may speed up the process and hopefully end up with a better product and hopefully you know maybe we accomplish both things so I don't think we necessarily have to think of this processes increasing the cost of development in Ann Arbor hopefully we can you know like shorten the process and improve the design of our in our community as well my ideal world for the discussion all those in favor this document play say aye aye opposed all right that's approved moving on to eleven audience participation is there anyone in the audience who wishes to address the Planning Commission seeing no one we will move on to Commission proposed business are there any commissioners who'd like to propose any business commissioner banks once thanks to that I seem students are in the audience who had to listen to a particularly painful Planning Commission discussion around bullet points but in terms of Commission proposed business there were a couple things that came up around biking and I would like I really think Transportation Commission nor Trudeau should take on an issue take on looking at Class A B and C bicycle parking and then also I heard a mention of and maybe this is just necessarily a part of the process but to get a bike hoop into the right-of-way requires City Attorney review and that's a cumbersome process by an applicant to think about just getting a bike hoop into our right-of-way outside of the DDA like okay yeah maybe this is something that Transportation Commission could take a little bit of time to look at those processes and make some recommendations on how we can improve so we have been asked to look at Class A B and C designations and when it first came around there was very little interest in revisiting them and I don't know if that was me and or staff not sort of describing the problems we've seen from this end we have not talked about bike Hoops outside of downtown so definitely that's something I will have a raise I guess I would be interested in having a conversation maybe offline about what are other problems we're seeing with Class A B and C because I feel like we had a lot of questions for staff actually I might follow up with staff too because we had a lot of questions for staff and that meeting about like we just don't know about like especially the class-a spaces like are they sufficient are they not we don't know because we don't see them and we don't live in those buildings and so it's it's hard to tell but there didn't seem to be a sense when we look to discussed it that at least the publicly accessible spaces in the downtown area which I think we may have asked specifically about downtown were problematic so we'd be expanding that a little bit and hooking into this issue of especially hoops outside of downtown which I agree that's something I flagged is not ideal it shouldn't be so if people are willing to spend the money to put them in in places where we think we need them we should let them and do it well it's just to bring the birds back into this conversation a little bit you know I don't know if the Transportation Committee will look at that or anything but I've seen a couple of the the bikes around campus and some of them are just like laying over on the sidewalk I don't know if that's because they just fell over or what it is but you know they're in the right away or what-have-you and I don't have a problem with that unless somebody gets hurt if they fall or accidentally run over it with their own bikes while they're doing that so maybe and maybe this is a question you can find out whether or not they should be or if they are designed to sort of sit upright or be you know propped up someplace or if we need to look at other kinds of hoops or something but you know they could be an accident just waiting to happen to church weirdo so we did have a discussion at the last Transportation Commission meeting about micro mobility operators in general and the birds scooters in particular we haven't taken any action yet it seems like the city was still trying to figure out their response and their approach and their plan it sounds like there may be a committee to form I think there's some discussions that still need to happen before we figure out what to do I did read something today they don't have it in front of me and I'm working for memory that the city was looking at capping the number of vehicles per provider and then licensing providers because we're expecting more of these operators to come bird is it actually multiple in the city did indicate multiple operators have been in discussions both with the city and the university up to bird launching and bird came without talking to anybody and just showed up which did not go over very well and so that yeah that's sort of being worked on and it's I'm particularly personally interested in where this goes as well and so I've been following this and I've actually encouraged Transportation Commission to take this up before the birds came and was a little bit of a told-you-so moment but but yeah so the the conversations underway exactly how the process will go is not yet determined it'll become curious to see whether councils gonna pick up anything more whether the city administrator is going to be leading the way but yeah it's it's going to be an ongoing conversation I think Commissioner Ackerman yeah so just a little bit more detail I submitted a number of questions so the City Administrator earlier this week and got some helpful responses that I'd love to share people are interested first the responsibility is gonna sit with John Fournier who's the new deputy City Administrator so so someone is tasked with moving regulations forward and so I you can expect those to happen in short order so my first question was what will the city communicate publicly about our policy the city's communications will focus on safe behavior on crowded sidewalks this will address both scooters and bicycles motorized and not this is now a work in progress some more active communication will be coming out of City Hall well the city removes scooters from the right-of-way we will continue to remove scooters that are improperly stored along the sidewalk eg blocking the sidewalk to prevent an ad a compliant pathway so if you do see that I would encourage you to call the community standards department because we are actively going out and removing and confiscating scooters that are a hazard third will aid the LAPD issued tickets to users the response we will ticket only in cases of aggressive behavior or when unsafe conditions are observed we do need to develop and bring to council appropriate ordinances for what are your goals in negotiating with bird because in an earlier email he had said that we're in active negotiation with them our goals are to allow safe operation well look to create a business licensing program which would also include a cost per scooter I spoke to the city manager from Columbia Missouri yesterday and they charge $1 per scooter per day and a recovery charge for birds to reclaim their confiscated equipment we also want to have access to their usage data and we'll ask bird to partner with us on a use and safety video searcher down so just two other points that that conversation made me recall is one the the app to do actually require the user to show that they parks to the scooter so they've trying to at least enforce proper behavior so typically if you see something not work should be hopefully that's because it got knocked over removed by somebody else so they at least making an effort and I and I'm glad that city's moving forward these regulations I think setting expectations for behavior and you know charging a fee to help offset the cost of managing this on our and as a city and all of that is good and then the other thing I already forgot so I will let it go any other Commission proposed business to have a motion to adjourn moved back fish for brake significant assure Weatherby all those in favor we are adjourned thank you you

good evening and welcome inside district 20 Stadium in Colorado Springs we've got a doozy of a matchup tonight in 3a high school football as the DCCC Thunder take on the Pueblo East Eagles thank you for joining us tonight my name is Brian German and alongside me is my broadcast partner Dave Toller and number three versus number four you'd expect it to be a good one and these teams have seen each other quite a lot over the last few years they know each other very well Brian they've met so many times in big games they've met in the state tournament even the state tournament championship game a few years back these two teams very good teams one coming in Florida undefeated that's DCC 3 and 1 pleb louis comes in their only loss a big one to a rival school that's a 4a school getting votes in the national polls so we've got two of the best teams in the state right here tonight yeah and we're gonna see it on the field tonight every time we see these two teams play always close usually goes down to the wire but we talked to Shawn Mitchell before this game where we got his keys to the game take us through those day well you look at the number one ball control this is a team they run a lot of option football so they're gonna want to eat the clock and by doing that they keep the Pueblo East offense which is very potent keep them off the field the number two team minimized the impact of Kane Medrano and Luke and Rada while Medrano was out for this game so the quarterback Luke and Rada they will have to be very careful with him he's a run pass option type of quarterback and the number three take advantage of special teams the kicker for DCC will talk about him a lot throughout the broadcast is very good he can hit the long field goal he can get kickoffs for touchdowns and he has the ability to flip the field on the punt and as far as Pueblo East is concerned in the special teams battle they don't kick it very much they punted once in four games this year so they're kind of leery about using their punter and their kicker they go for two most often it'll be another thing that will keep track up during this game but if they're there will be a lot of them against two very good teams should be a great one discovery Canyon number three versus number four Pueblo East will come back with a kickoff right after this on 20 TV you welcome back inside district 20 Stadium we're just about ready to get started for this one discovery Canyon and Pueblo East this one should be a great one the corn toss is over Discovery Canyon will receive there's a good look at Shawn Mitchell I want to thank him for all the information he gave us about his team before tonight's game always good you know he can't get out and see every high school football game so it's nice when the coaches give us a little insight into their players and what they're thinking absolutely gave us those keys to the game and also told us it's the first time he's gonna be calling the defense as well he's the head coach he's also serving as a defensive coordinator first time he's done that since 2010 and you mentioned in the pregame about the good special teams for discovery Canyon it all starts with Griffin Anderson the senior 511 kicker for discovery Canyon he will put this game into play there's a good look at Griffin and he's coach Coach Mitchell tools he's capable of the gist sending it into the endzone for the touchdown we'll see if they choose to do that a lot of teams like to maybe try and pinion inside the 25-yard line Anderson's kick well into the end zone and he'll do just that it'll be a touchback so well the weeks we'll start with the football at the 20-yard line but lui ste Dave mentioned a very very exciting offense but their main player Kain majora no out he will not play at wide receiver or free safety for Pueblo East starting at quarterback his Luke and darada and he gives it up the middle and discovery Kenny does a good job shutting that one off and the Eagles will get about a two-and-a-half-year gain on that one and that was Noah Rivera with the first carry of the game so with Kain Medrano out of the game a guy that has played running back played receiver he carries the ball out of the backfield he's their leading receiver as well there's a lot of touches that are going to be available for this Pueblo East team and we'll see who those touches go to but it's a very dynamic offense they can run it and throw it and drown it back to pass some heat being thrown Hahn he's going to get it out of there and good job defensively for discovery Canyon Braden bear was putting some on him from behind great job and you'll see Pueblo East they run out of the shotgun they'll run trips to one side they'll flip the field go to the other side but nice pressure from the backside by the Thunder forcing that throw to go out of bounds and forcing a third down coming up for the Eagles third and long for Pueblo he's discovered King would love to get him out three and outs and Rada in the shotgun is he will be most of the day as a man in motion does a fake nice move up the middle looks like he is going to have a first down and Luke and drama is one of those players that coach Mitchell mentioned they've got to stop him they didn't get him there he gets an eight-yard game in the first down and he's their quarterback but he's their leading rusher as well averages 60 yards per game on the ground about 260 through the air so a guy that that's where the offense that's where the focus point runs through it on a third and seven play nice job on the keeper two receivers left and right with one man in and Rada takes a look fiers finds a man it's caught over there on the side that's gonna be Jo padula who gets it up for about a 6 yard gain I'm gonna say it's gonna be second down for the Eagles but who the seventh catch of the season and again you'll see him do a lot of things though they'll work the right side they'll work the left side they'll work at deep that time just a little quick out to Purdue Pedulla and Rada again this time to give up the middle Patrick Gonzalez and he's gonna surge forward for another what Louie's first down so two first down so far for East they're gonna be like in that yeah they really do and again that's that balance you're seeing when when the team can come out on first down throw a little seven or eight yard out come right back where the full-back up the middle he really keep the defense off-balance and that's what Pueblo East is doing no huddle they just run up to the line so they can control the tempo as well Gonzales again in the backfield with entrada and DCCC jumped I believe it's gonna be offsides against the Thunder it'll be first in five rather than first and ten and a lot of times when you get this short yardage run first down let's a coach gamble if you want to right here because it's gonna be second and five even if you throw an incomplete pass yeah sure can and what leads to the offside while you've got the defense on their heels a little bit early in this game Sharada goes up top again it's caught on the left side and a nice move as going down is number 13 for Pueblo East that was Caden Bowman who's probably gonna see a lot more action tonight because of Medrano not being in there yeah we'll call a lot of new names that really aren't high on the the stats list for Pueblo East but those there's touches to be around and put least working the left side of the field early on trips to the right now it's time to give it to Gonzales they almost had over the back field he cuts it up inside and gets about an eight yard gain Patrick Gonzales doing the work on the ground the 6-foot senior for the Eagles well in Discovery Canyon had some good penetration on that play they got in the mid with Gonzalez make him move it behind the line of scrimmage but he did so and he showed some good power as he just moved the sticks and the Eagles keep it going Andrade this time swings it out to Marvin Johnson London junior excuse me and he cuts it up inside gets a first down and right now Pablo he's doing what DCC wants to do and that is keep the other teams offense off the field they're taking some time off the clock coming up on nine nine minutes left here in the first quarter and while they really are and one of the things Shawn Mitchell the coach of discovery Canyon told this was they wanted to limit the big plays while they're limiting the big plays but but Pueblo is just moving it right down the field and drama in the backfield along again with Gonzales that now they seem to be waiting a little bit of time on the play clock down to ten and Radek gives it to Gonzales he goes up the middle it's about a four or five yard gain and the Thunder they're really keeping the Thunder on their heels with both the running and passing so far really that's what the Eagles can do to you they'll spread you out and you're not gonna know what's gonna come next and they run out of so many different formations you take a look at where they are now there they've got the field spread all over Luke and Rada under a little bit of pressure nice move to get out of it finds a man that's gonna be Padula who turns it up inside and comes down close to the 10 yard line before a gang of thunder bring him down going again discovery canyon had good penetration we'll look at it right here they forced Andrade to go out to his left but he keeps his composure tough throw rolling to his left turns his shoulders get squared up makes a good throw right on the money in the first down for police gage Clausen with the pressure there for the Thunder but an errata he is shifty back there that was a good look at Pedulla on the side and Radha now sins London junior in motion he curls back around a drought is gonna go up the middle nice blocking up in there and a good hard nose tackle for discovery Canyon that's gonna be brought down by number 44 that's Tanner nectary a really nice plane here's a good look at it on the replay as he stepped up and Rada had some room and was trying to get out to the left side but nice claimed by McCreary to step in make that tackle so Android now looking at second down they can get a first down at the one-yard line Android on a good job again this time the Thunder gets it in the first surge in there he's been in the backfield all night number 59 gage Clausen for the Thunder what a great play by Clausen as he comes in and finishes this time we've seen earlier in this Drive the Thunder got in the backfield it was Clausen once before that missed him but not that time he wrapped him up puts the quarterback on the ground Shawn Mitchell gotta like his play call on that one absolutely sending Clausen into the backfield so and righto now surveys things and here comes a reverse a nice catch and he's got some room on the left-hand side a flag is down he's gonna go into the end zone but I believe they might be calling this one back that was a touchdown for Marvin London jr.

but hold on just a second we got a hold against the Eagles that's coming back boy again gage Clausen was right in the middle of that and nearly broke up that whole play we'll take a look at it on the replay here comes the snap back to the quarterback watch Clausen get in there he's right in the middle of it the hold came right before that right in the middle of the play so touchdown is called back and they'll March it back 10 yards boy well who East better be careful because Clausen could have intercepted the pitch and he had his mind about him a little bit more he probably could have like knocked that into the air and had a huge play as it is the loss of 14 third and 20 for now and draw it back London junior in motion he's gonna look deep down the sideline it's dropped in and out of the hands of the Eagles Gonzales the backfield couldn't hold on to it's gonna be fourth down and 24 but I expect Eagles to go for it yeah very well I think you heard some footsteps here he was open for a while you can see the safety stepping up right there that was 32 that's passion stepping up right in front heard some footsteps and didn't make the catch so Andrada now again in the backfield Patrick Gonzales with him Thunder trying to put some pressure on him and drown it looks over the middle and incomplete no flag on the play and the Thunder will take over on downs what a great job by the Thunder digging their heels in we'll take a look at it right here and going no call on that again I think that's Kevin passion it is good job it looked like he may have had the hand wrapped around him but you don't get the call man you don't get the call that's a great play the ball is not caught turn over to discovery Canyon but certainly credit that defense because the way Pueblo East was moving that ball all the way down the field they got it down to the 10 yard line the Thunder dug in not only did that push them back and got to stop without giving out any points and now we'll see the Thunder offense Thunder offense with Zach Anderson under center second-year starter for them fakes it comes around and a nice pitch on the outside a little bit of room over there and going out of bounds was that Monteleone nope that was passion back in the game on the offensive side of the ball Kevin passion with the carry the 5/8 senior good look at him right there as he goes back to the huddle and discovery Canyon using the short side of the field a lot of teams that run the option they like to go to the short side they'll say there's one less guy over there you get 11 guys on defense a lot of times that extra guy will go to the wide side of the field sometimes you can get an outnumbered situation by going to the boundary mate Rose split to the left and this time Anderson hands it off up the middle again a nice throw and that's Marshall pike getting it right up the middle the big fullback carrying that one down for a first down for discovery Canyon well the leading rusher for the Thunder one of the top rushers in the state a hundred and thirty yards per game and he comes right at you right there that's what discovery Canyon wants to do they're gonna take wyden they're gonna hit you with the full-back up the middle and marshal pikes been a terrific win for him the last couple of years and i'm sure marshal pike will be the first one to tell you that he doesn't do it alone those big guys I'm not doing a great job that was a hole right there again semi up the middle and slammed to the ground again it was Pike give him another three yards on that one when did you look at that line Bryan you were talking about the offensive line really changing up their splits only over about four or five plays but that time that offensive line was almost shoulder to shoulder and then you'll see him step out and they'll create a little bit more of a gap and that really changes up what the defense is trying to do what gaps they're trying to attack but already a good job by DCC mixing things up a little and there's a good shot from behind the play of the splits of those offensive linemen again this time the fake up the middle Anderson keeps it around the side he's gonna die for to have another Thunder first down so the big man Zac Anderson if he looks large to you he is 6 7 215 pounds the senior for the Thunder there's a good look at him good look at him right there you can you can see 6 7 and as you would imagine from a 6 7 guy a pretty good basketball player as well averaged about 11 points per game 6 rebounds last season for the Thunder on the hardwood and playing Porter back tonight showing a little good footwork as he came around the left side mr.

do it all Zach Anderson so Pike's behind him passion goes in motion this time passion takes the pitch got room out there a nice block on the outside he could be gone action to the 20 to 15 to 10 touchdown DCC 6 nothing Thunder well what great speed by Kevin passion and again that's what the Thunder wants to do they hit you with the full-back then they take it outside a nice little play we'll get a look at it right here here's Anderson the fake to the full-back the quick pitch just beats the defender and then he just splits a lot of white jerseys as he heads down the sideline Kevin passion for six for the Thunder what great blocking on the outside for the Thunder to open up that hole and Kevin passion saw it and he was gone great speed by Kevin passion as the Thunder setup for Griffin Anderson to try the extra point and make this a seven to nothing football game up and good 7-0 good look at Griffin Anderson 511 senior what a great job that team did on that drive they're sucking him in although Sean Mitchell's probably saying wait wait guys we scored too fast he did say control the clock but I tell you what he's not going to turn down a touchdown like that and that's what Discovery Canyon wants to do they're not gonna throw up very much when they do they're gonna hit him over the top after they just keep sucking those defenders in but didn't even have to on that one it was it was fullback fullback it was quarterback to the left and it was passion to the right nice drive by the Thunder and now we'll see if the Thunder again let Anderson kick this one deep in the end zone and forced the Eagles to start at their own 20-yard line but Louisa down in this one they were down last year in several games we've seen him before this you never count the Eagles out so Anderson ready to kick back at it orally Mondragon and Marvin London jr.

back to receive this one we'll see if they get a chance to return it Anderson gets a big foot into that one it's high and taking just inside the end zone it's gonna be a touchback that's a high school rule nice catch by Marvin London junior but we'll get the ball to 20 yard line and we talked about what Anderson can do with that leg he's put both of them out of the end zone so no return you force put Louise to start here at the 20 I'm sure that Coach Mitchell wants to do that the rest of the night that's a dangerous man back there in Marvin London jr. so Andrada comes back out in the backfield with him is Noah Rivera and a big tackle down inside for the discovery Canyon Thunder make that number 35 Nick Monahan with a big play great plays they got pressure once again they've had good penetration there's a Monaghan of course who's back there once again 59 that's gage class and put blue East is gonna have to find a way to block Clausen but he's been in the backfield as much as the running backs for the Eagles have tonight that's not an exaggeration thank you this time up the middle 22 gets a hole and coming up to make a nice tackle for discovery Canyon that's Logan Moore with the football was Noah Rivera but it's gonna be third down and long for the least and that time they were able to spread that defensive line for discovery Canyon out the little inside handoff he had a little room as he gets right back to the original line of scrimmage 3rd 9 Thunder would like to get him out on this one and drought is back again pressure good job keeping him in the pocket there's a throw incomplete on the far side and again guess who in the backfield with the pressure I believe it was Clausen I would bet it is good job with yeah it sure was Clausen came up he was blocked up by Clausen taking the blocker it freed up another Thunder defender who was coming on the Blitz didn't get the number but that was the inside linebacker coming on the on the blitz gets enforces the early throw over the top and a punting situation for the Eagles I do wonder for head coach Andrew watts and the Pueblo East Eagles if they're a little down because Medrano not playing tonight we'll see here comes the punts just the second punt of the year for the Eagles and Kaden Bowman got a nice foot into it and a nice little roll but discovery Canyon will take it because they can chew up 82 yards and get a touchdown no problem and you look at that punt that's that rugby style punt if it's not fielded in the air if it hits the ground it's got that automatic topspin it bounced another 15 20 yards to depend ECC back but absolutely they will take that we talked about the dynamic offense the Pueblo East has and the way they can they can run it they can pass they've got good balance for DCC to get a three and out and get the ball back to their offense that's what the Thunder wants to do keep that pub lowest offense on the sideline and let's chew up some clock offensively we'll see if they can do it Anderson and company back on the field for the Thunder it's got pike and fullback passion again in motion and this time pike comes up the middle and keeps dragging eagle players for about a 7 yard game here's a good look at it right here the full-back Marshall pike you talk about yards after contact he was hit behind the line of scrimmage took about three Eagles with him to gain some positive yardage Sam Watson brings the play in from the sideline a big tight end for the Thunder doesn't look so big at 6 to 185 when he goes to the quarterback in the 6 7 to 15 but hey trust me Anderson again like looking to go he is off to the races no one's gonna catch him Marshall Pike will go all the way touchdown thunder boy how about that the full-back up the middle he goes for 74 yards on the play holy cow that's the full-back good luck at he's right over the right side and again a credit to that offensive line opening up that hole made it look easy all Pike had to do was just not fall down on his way to the end zone he did not and it puts DCC up two touchdowns I don't know if marshal Park wanted to run that far he got to the end zone you see what he opened his hands and looked at the ref like did I run far enough Early's I don't want to run great job by Marshall Pike to score that touchdown and now the Thunder Griffin Anderson trying to tack on the extra point it is up and it is good boy he kicks that ball high make it 14 nothing Thunder the first quarter of this one number three beaten number four and check out pike a good look at it completely untouched and you love the way the full-back carries the ball coming through the line of scrimmage he's expecting contact once he gets in the clear puts it away he runs he looks at the ref he goes okay Here I am here's the ball great job by DCC and well again they talked about controlling the clock well when you score on a 50-yard run you score on a 74-yard run we were putting points on the board not really controlling the clock but BCC will take this 14-0 lead oh it certainly will and now maybe you'll see a little bit more well I don't know what you how how you can be more conservative and then handing it to the full-back Sean Mitchell's gotta love what he's seeing out there exactly and well this is a this is a blow East defense that has played pretty well they have forced 12 turnovers in four games this season but boy tonight they're just getting torched at the line of scrimmage by the Thunder Rob Lewis seven of those turnovers came against last year's state champion and the quarterback who is on his way to Colorado threw five interceptions on this Eagle defense not see five passes thrown by the Thunder all night tonight why would you when you can run the ball like they are so again Anderson to kick it off my guess is with the instructions to kick it into the end zone we will see put into that one and that is going to come down beyond the goal line and every habits 20-yard line again for the Pueblo East Eagles for the third time tonight they will start from their own 20 like coach Shawn Mitchell gave us that as one of the keys to the game what a weapon that is and we haven't even seen him line up for a field goal or a punt yet but boy on the kickoffs when when you have a guy that can just put it out in the in the endzone it makes it easy on your coverage team when when they you know when they have to go down try to cover those guys for Pueblo he's trying to run that ball back got a hint when his extra point hit powers Boulevard whether but he can he's got a pretty good leg and Trotta in the shotgun again that's Rivera behind him and drawn us gonna look to pass he'll go deep down the middle got a man out there but couldn't catch up to the football number 13 Bowman Kaden Bowman tried to get there it was a nice pass lots of air under it gave me a chance to run under it but Bowman just couldn't get there well I really did and for the first time tonight and rod has had a little bit of a pocket to throw in he wasn't under pressure he laid it out there just a little too far out in front of his receiver but again you can see how capable this this Pueblo East team is of stretch in the field and scoring quickly but it's second and 10 as that ball fell incomplete Thunder ready to put some more pressure on IDE rata and here it comes and drought it looking throwing that one into the sidelines call it incomplete as again great pressure upfront by the Thunder that was the left defensive end that was Sam Watson 87 that he just beat his tackle right to the quarterback and drought it was rolling right into him and had nowhere to go with it but to throw it out of bounds there's a good look at Ryan Monteleone getting the defensive call probably from coach Mitchell third and 10 so far Pueblo East they got three first downs on that first drive and then stalled with a penalty down early here comes a London junior and he is tracked down by his jersey they're not tear away jerseys like they did when you play Dave check it out again it's a great play by Nick mana who's coming from the backside just holding on for dear life and he holds on long enough great plate by Monahan there's a good look at him right there coming down the line of scrimmage stretches out gets just a piece of a jersey and gets the tackle the 510 senior comes down with the tackle and a blue East is about to punt in this game more than they had in the previous four Bowden sends it down that ball hits the ground this time doesn't get such a good what Luiz bouncing DC seal start from the their own 45 yard line so Shawn Mitchell got to be like in this absolutely best field position he's had and I'm sure when when the Eagles go over to the sideline they say hey let's let that ball bounce a little bit bcc's return man they just got away from it and and a quick touch is in DC's favor as as they will take over best field position of the night and there's a good look at the quarterback Zach Anderson you know it's a big game when all of the television stations are on hand not just our cameras on the sidelines this is a big game folks three versus four and right now the Thunder are owning it Anderson again up the middle pike another big run but they got him before he went to 74 yards that time it took him just five carries to get over a hundred yards already on the night when you go 74 in one play that he'll ship enough five carries a hundred and five yards tonight already for Marshall Pike heck of a player and just again a great job up front by that offensive line this time passion in motion Anderson's gonna throw it got a man wide open what a great catch out there that's Watson the big tight end inside the 25-yard line while Sam Watson he just had great pressure on the quarterback playing defense and this time slips behind everybody it's take a look at he comes off of the near side this runs a little flag route out to the sideline and again when you're just running the ball fullback tailback fullback tailback all of a sudden those safety start to creep up you hit the tight end over the top nice play by the Thunder was a great play Zach Anderson threw it in there like it was nothing and now the Thunder come back to the line first and 10 25 yard line this time again it's Marshall pike he's going right up the middle Ryan Monteleone yet to touch the ball on offense he was in motion this time as the wing back on the other side and you know he's going to here shortly yep absolutely and you throw one over the top and as soon as everybody starts collapsing to the inside that's when Monteleone can get free on the corner Zac surface gives the play to Anderson and they come up to the line ashin in motion the fake here comes the Anderson had a little bit of room he definitely has a first down for the Thunder as he goes inside the 15-yard line yeah second time he's carried the ball and this time he goes to his right side well he can't heat gains 232 yards with one step then he falls forward for three more yards and nice run there by the quarterback sack Anderson all you got to do is fall forward that's right fourth and two coach Mitchell just has to tell his quarterback to fall forward first and ten balls marked at the 18 yard line now and I wouldn't expect the Thunder to put it up unless they have to in this situation Pike in the backfield Monteleone to the right passion to the left Monteleone gets his first carry on the cutback nice job down inside the 10 yard line down to about the 7 like good hard running first carry of the night from Monteleone as he takes the handoff and goes over the left tackle side and he gets hit early on gets his pads down and advances the football that's where we end the first quarter of play it's been all Thunder 14 to nothing discovery Canyon as Marshall pike takes us to the end zone we'll be back with second quarter action after this you're watching high school football on 20 TV you welcome back to district 20 Stadium in Colorado Springs number three discovery Canyon leads 14 to nothing over number four pueblo east i'm brian german alongside dave told her let's get right back to the action as the Thunder have come to the line second and three the ball is on the seven here comes Anderson around the side he's got a man to pitch to cuts it up inside touchdown flag down and he did not make it in but there is a flag down and it came in the Thunder back field it's gonna be a hold against discovery Canyon first penalty of the game on discovery Canyon a big one right there is Anderson he got down right next to the goal and looked like he might have been in they they called it short but they will call it back let's take a look from behind right here there's Anderson with the ball as Monteleone to his left he cuts it back up well I just gets hit see as he gets short of the of the goal line couldn't see the hold in there but they will back him up ten yards big play there now so instead of a first down inside the two yard line the Thunder now looking at second and 14 on the seven a little bit longer still don't think this is passing down for the Thunder and Anderson takes it pitch on the outside they'll cut it just dance along the outside there does Monteleone gets a little bit maybe half of it back so it's gonna be third and about seven or eight and just ran out of real estate over there you could see the whole Eagle defense collapsed on Marshall pike why wouldn't you he's already over a hundred yards tonight but Monteleone as he got to the corner just ran out of room before he went out of bounds yes if Marshall Pike keeps the pace up he's got 450 for the night that would be crazy Anderson under center a man in motion number 29 in there and now they're gonna say offsides against Pueblo East that is the call so instead of third and six it's gonna be third and one and in the game was drool estilo who actually came in motion and I think polled Pueblo East offside now back in there Nate Rose wide receiver for the Thunder he'll split out to the left and they'll get in there typical wing backs motion wing backs formation it's a man in motion up the middle touchdown Marshall Pike second time tonight he reaches Pater boy and again when you can run the football like discovery Canyon does what a great job by the offensive line look they just pushed all the white jerseys back into the end zone and again second touchdown of the night for Marshall pike he hasn't been touched on either one of them a good look at the fullback Marshall Pike as he runs off the field like to welcome former discovery cane teacher Dan Hanken watching us from Jamaica tonight welcome in Dan thanks for watching can't find anything better to do in Jamaica but it's good Griffin Anderson kick is up and good he's gotta be loving this 21 to nothing Thunder League absolutely what a first quarter and some change by discovery Canyon here's another look at the touchdown look at the hole that was created and how many times tonight Brian we've talked about gage Clawson offensively well he was the right guard on that play that just turned his man completely to the inside opened up the hole for Marshall Pike to get through I think your mom could have made through that oh my goodness she could have I might have made it through maybe maybe your mom for sure don't know about you 21 nothing now and the Thunder again getting set to kick it off Griffin has put three kicks into the end zone to our left we'll see if he can put one in the end zone to our right really not much of a win here today the flag is straight down on the pole down on the south end zone down there and what Luisa is just hoping to get some get a short kick and maybe get some field position to do something they had that started well they got all the way down inside the ten yard line got a holding penalty we're backed up and never saw the light of day that's exactly right I mean everything changed for them offensively on that play but let's not forget this offense they throw the ball for about 260 yards per game they can score quickly so even being down 21 zero early on in this game they are certainly not out of this one Anderson puts his foot into that one and they do leave it a little bit short but it's gonna bounce in the end zone for a touchback 21 to nothing and we'll have to see what head coach Andrew Watts can come up with you know short of a miracle and getting Kane Medrano back in the game you've got to find some other guys to step up and you wonder how much that's affecting the offense and we we haven't seen him earlier this season so we don't really know but just looking at the numbers and looking at the way that that they play he's a huge part of that offense in in the rushing department the receiving department as well if my memory serves me correctly though the Thunder have had big leads in this series before there's a long pitch and again great job defensively for the Thunder that time number 65 doing the job Eli Scott well I'm just doing a great job look at the numbers they had out there and it was Scott that took the quarterback stood the quarterback up forced him to make the pitch the tailback couldn't get outside when he came back in Scott was there to make the play Shawn Mitchell liken what his defense is doing so far tonight entrada back looking for a man throwing it and he threw it between two guys as he had Marvin London jr.

and Joe Pedulla downfield and threw it between them yeah padula was just running a straight go pattern it was it was London junior that was coming across the field I think that's where the ball was supposed to go but well he missed him by by five or six yards and again he was being forced out of the pocket not able to set his feet forcing him out to his left to make that throw third and 10 the Thunder just putting too much heat on Luke and Rada tonight and rot again back to pass this time sees a lane gets it through but it's gonna be a short game and a nice catch over there by and Harding but not enough for the first down will be fourth down Eagles and a good tackle by Drew la Stella watch this here just a little dig route he stops makes the catch but la Stella comes in makes the open field tackle if you look from that camera angle there's nobody behind la Stella if he doesn't make that tackle that could have gone for a big gainer but good job by la Stella getting and making that tackle nice shot of the kicking coach right there Andy little Andy little excited about his special teams back out there the kicking coach as he should be he does a great job with Griffin Anderson and it looks like again the third punt of the night that's three times as many east has had all season almost been partially blocked and it's one's picked up look Rose picks it up for discovery Canyon wow that was a close play for Nate Rose but kept it from going further up the field good hands really did that's a heads-up play a very dangerous play that's one of those as a coach you say no no no no yes thank you because he had some traffic around him but nice play let's see I think that ball was deflected it was it changed direction that's spinning down the field and Rose just steps up makes it and probably saved his team 15 or 20 yards of field position yeah I'm not sure they got on and I think they may have got into the head of Kaden Bowman for Pueblo Eason he just kind of shanked that one so Zack Anderson accompanied back on the field Monteleone a motion gets a pitch they'll cut it up inside cross the 50 and he's got another first down for the discovery canyon Thunder and again great blocking look at all the great jerseys out in front there's Monteleone look at the posse he has in front of it looks like they've got 13 or 14 guys on offense the way they're moving outside great job by the line and Monteleone and just find in a hole picking up about 14 right there how nice is it for Shawn Mitchell he said one guy run fifty or forty some yards for a touchdown another run seventy-four and then you give it to another guy he cruises for thirteen yeah so many weapons on this Thunder team in motion this time Pike up the middle he's got some more room cross if 35 yard line down to the third three first down Thunder they are making it look easy right now and Zach Anderson he's just a distributor he's the point guard back there right now give it to the full-back pick up 13 pitches to Monteleone around the end pick up about 15 if they're moving it around they've thrown one ball tonight they've completed their only pass but you really don't need to the way they're moving the ball on the ground no reason it's gonna make the clock roll more anyway if you keep that ball on the ground so Sam Watson came in with the play Anderson again under Center faked a Pike pitch to passion he gets around the corner with a stiff arm and then he's held up and not taken down but stopped for the whistle Nick Carrera for the Eagles gets the tackle a good job that time by played low e-string in that play out they they decided not to give it to pike everything was collapsed inside but as the play came outside good job by Pueblo East chasing that thing all the way out the stiff arm by passion got him a couple of yards but he ends up getting taken down on the play second and 10 more room on the left side of the field right now for the Thunder Monteleone the wing right passion the wing left pike behind him if it's a passion he's got a room cut back maybe could have gained a few more cutting it up inside but it'll still run that clock down a good job at Kevin passion and a little different look that time as they gave it to the offside wing back who was coming coming around and took a little more time to develop and that time the Eagles had had plenty of time to get in front and they will make it about third and eight Brandon Hall with a nice tackle there for the Eagles so the east eagle defense is stiffening right here we'll see what the Thunder come up with balls at the 31 yard line third and eight Anderson's Monteleone in motion gives it to pike and he will get about three yards moving ahead so it's gonna be fourth down so we'll see if Mitchell looks like coach the littles gonna send Griffin Anderson out onto the field he does so here comes Anderson he's got the leg to do this this is a coach Mitchell told us before the game at any time they get to the 35 are inside Anderson can hit it and we will see that big leg right now Monteleone will have the hold and it's gonna be Braden bear with a snap I believe lots of the owns hold bottle a little bit Anderson with a kick it is up and it is good holy cow he does have a leg Dave that was amazing from 45 would have been good from 55 would a kick let's take another look at it right here boy look how high that ball is it hits out of the screen you can't even see it great great kick by Anderson and puts the Thunder up 24 zero there's coach little he's the reason Griffin so good I'm sure absolutely think so he'll tell us that 24 to nothing now thunder and give a lot of credit on that one to ryan Monteleone to because there was a bobbled snap he still got it down and then Anderson didn't even get a full leg into that one he had to stop and then swing still made it it's a Pat right there from Coach little comes out to kick it off again well we were told early in the game one of the keys was was going to be the kicker we were excited to see him how often do you say you're excited to see a kicker but I tell you what this this kid's got a leg he's a player you just said it I did good kickers had come out of Colorado Springs the Classical Academy had a kicker in the NFL last week unfortunately I'm sure Daniel Carlson will be back he'll he'll find a team soon at a lake like that you have a leg here you're gonna find yourself a job Griffin Anderson maybe someday yeah we'll see since this one deep into the night sky and and Roy and Radha was back there to receive that one he just lets it go and Pablo he still start again at the 20-yard line they probably figured he's gonna kick it out of the end zone anyway you might as well get the quarterback out there to get the play started because he's not gonna return it but you don't see the quarterback back on a on a kick return very often but and Radha was and he will bring the Eagle offense up to the line of scrimmage got to get something going here down 24 nothing they handed up the middle almost stripped from his hands but a nice run for number 22 Rivera Noah Rivera that really was a lot of great jerseys collapsed on him right away but a gain of four for Rivera that's what the Eagles are gonna have to do to start the possession this is what they did their first to drive they got a couple three first downs with three plays before stalling now here's an errata up the middle finds a crease gets out across the 35 yard line for the 36 first down Pueblo East yeah a nice play right there he fakes the handoff cuts it up you can see what a good athlete he is he makes a little shift he moved to pick up the first down and like I said this is what got him going early they started out with the run and they hit a couple of short passes to set the rhythm we'll see if they'll do that here again and route it with trips right one was uncovered for a moment DCCC changes it gets it to the London junior London junior makes a nice move on the sideline still in bounds gets a just across midfield nope they're saying he stepped down at the 48 yard line a nice job of just just walking the sideline over there quick pass good blocking in front of him you can see there's not a lot of room on that sideline he picked up another eight or nine yards just tiptoeing down the white line yeah Webb Louise too proud a team to just roll over and go away down 24 to nothing we expect them to definitely put some pressure on now and draw it back to pass looks deep he's got a man down there but doula it is caught he's gonna go in for a touchdown make it Kayden Bowman for six places on the board 52 yards covered quickly right there a single coverage here on the near side nice job of slowing down by the receiver waiting for that ball padula we'll take another look at it there's the quarterback and draw two right here drops it down the left side going nice play yet single coverage down there waits for the ball makes the catch sheds the tackler and walks in the end zone Kaden Bowman for the touchdown for the Eagles beautiful pass by and Rada and what Louise is probably gonna go for two down twenty four to six the numbers say to go for two and they don't attempt too many point after touchdowns anyway so and Radha with Gonzales in the backfield with him takes the snap is gonna roll to the right pressure by the Thunder looks into the end zone throws and it's knocked away incomplete and that forts that two-point conversion it'll stay 24 to 6 and great pressure right away up the middle I was number 29 drew let's tell oh here's a look at there's the list ello forcing the play outside and Ronnie had to get rid of it in the coverage and they shut down the two-point conversion 24 to 6 here's an another look at that touchdown and errata to Bowman beautiful throw and Bowman makes the adjustment great catch sure was nice tight spiral and again boom and you could see him he's running full speed he slowed down just a little bit kept the defender behind him makes the catch sheds the tackler good job and again as we said earlier but Louis they can score quickly they throw the ball they can run it they the big play has been has been their bread and butter all season long and they picked one up right there it's almost like someone said they were gonna make a push I don't know great job down there by Vincent T Greco on the sidelines I'll be wrong middle initial but he won't mind here's a kickoff by East Eagles Bigfoot put into it by Juan Aragon and the Thunder have it up the middle he's got some room down goes Nate rose but a good return for the Thunder well it really was and watch Rose he's carrying that ball high and tight protecting it he gets in just gets picked up from the bottom and dropped down but nice job again just advancing that football and now we're gonna see DCC come out they just gave up a big play they just gave up a touchdown we're gonna see him use a little bit more clock than they did early in this game Xion freeman was picking up rose on that one for the Eagles so Pike at fullback Monteleone passion in the wings and Zack Anderson under Center Anderson gives it to pike again he comes up the middle it's about a three yard game they'll be second down and I'm sure Shawn Mitchell would love to see nothing more than them run off oh maybe five and a half minutes and get another score it's exactly right yeah if you could do that and put points on the board as well that that would be perfect we're gonna see a lot of that it's gonna be the fullback coming up a little inside handoff and we can keep an eye on that on that play clock is it's gonna tick all the way down close to zero before we see the ball snapped Zack Anderson comes up pulls it away from pike this time gets a de pasión he stays inbounds and gets a first down but there is a flag down on the backside of the play and that's probably a hold but we'll see what the officials say well take a look right here's the plays coming right at us and good job of staying in bounds couldn't see anything in there that looked like a hole to us but one of the officials threw the flag and let's see what they call the backside official called it a hold and there's a look at the white cap tell us exactly what's up that's a hold in the 10-yard penalty it's gonna be second down and make it about 16 for the Thunder and for a team that runs the ball when you're trying to use up clock you don't want to get off schedule and that's what happens when you take that penalty you get 10 yards back you got second and long and now you're they're still gonna run the ball they're not gonna throw it here but it changes a little bit of what you have to do and how far you need to get I don't know Dave mostly look just the body language of the eighth the receiver that came in there's a canderson right up the middle turns it up and it's gonna be about third and 11 now I make it third and tenth just a good job when I forgot out tall he was yeah it was 11 then he fell forward it was 10 maybe even nine so Anderson waits for its income Zacks surface with the play plenty of time on that play clock there's a good look at the Thunder fans not a lot of them in Thunder where they're wearing like red white and blue colors down the right here comes Anderson he's gonna go along got a man down field plate Louise back there what a catch what a great job adjusting to the football and give it to number eight that is Brian Chimel coming down with it what a great job well I really was you talked about adjusting to the football that that ball looked like it had interception all over it and the Pueblo East cornerback just pulled up he was going to make the catch we'll take another look at it right here ball is up in the air it's about to be picked off nice play stepping in French Chimel with a big catch and a big gain first down for the Thunder as a tough play right there and Chimel did a great job bringing that ball down anderson just kind of threw it up there Chimel went and got it here comes Anderson again cutting up inside on the option Anderson out two for two throwing the ball and like we said they don't throw it a whole lot they've only got nine completions all season coming into this into this game they they make their their bread and butter just running the ball keep it on the ground run that clock a little bit when they do throw it they get a play a big play then you have to be efficient when you don't throw the ball very much you have to be efficient well you can't be a whole lot better than being two for two and a couple of first downs on those passes unless you got touchdowns on both all right yeah yes you I guess you could be better I stand corrected Anderson now taking this time they do watch that play clock down inside the five takes a snap here comes Marshall Pike up the middle it's gonna be close to a first now probably need about two more to get it first on third which will be the next down well just as we were saying DCC is going to keep the ball on the ground they had gotten off schedule with that penalty while they ran the ball coming out of that penalty they get the deep ball now they're right back to where they wanted to be they get second and five they get third and two and the clock and keep on ticking Tanner McCreary brought that play in he splits wide to the left Anderson passion started in motion Anderson backed off a minute here they come again this time by quick pitch to passion he's got room cuts into the 20 he's got some speed it'll be pushed out of bounds right around the 4 yard line but what speed by Kevin passion what speeding what a great catch this was a late pitch it was behind him on his backside hip he catches it almost had to stop completely and a great burst getting down the sidelines here's another look from right in front passion coming right at you boy great speed nearly gets in the end zone nice tackle right down inside the 2 yard line about Tim's territory the good camera work down there in the other end zone just a great job as usual by the 20 TV ographers Marcus Rodrigues Tom Paul we're gonna top cameras tonight Anderson pitch is it on the outside turn to the corner the Stello touchdown drew the Stello gets into the end zone and the Thunder back up 32 6 and again just a pitch la Stella coming from the far side takes it away that pitch was coming hot right at the helmet gets the hands up makes the catch and we've called the Stella's name a lot defensively tonight but a nice play getting it in the end zone and let him get I'm gonna touch it - that's right Griffin Anderson will try to add to his total tonight already got six points via the foot trying to make it seven he does so 31 to 6 discovery Canyon tell you Dave we didn't know much Rana was out but can one guy make this big of a difference here's another look yeah it does it makes you wonder I mean their offense it just hasn't been in sync they've moved the ball in small chunks again lost a low getting in the end zone going up 31 to 6 these are two teams that came into this game each averaging about 27 28 points per game they played a bunch of close games in the history of this series last time an overtime game or last year I should say an overtime game down in Pueblo so so many close games in this series for DCC to come out and jump ahead 31 to 6 in the first half the Thunder have to be loving what's going on right now certainly do 158 left second quarter Griffin Anderson back out there and be little gonna watch him from the sidelines super get a nice low angle look at this kick wonder if one of our photographers could do that for oh look at that look at that shot right off the lens of Vince Greco Vincent Q Greco Griffin Anderson's gonna put a foot into that and we're gonna watch it go the official says yes Griffin puts his arm down pretty soon you're gonna see that football remove itself from your screen well actually Griffin Anderson's gonna remove it there went high into the night into the end zone touch back twenty yards a great shot by Vincent W Greco guys gonna have to get on the ground to get you a good shot like that easy you should mention his name absolutely a couple of times yeah so and rata hey company fresh off a nice long touchdown pass to get back into this game has given up another one but end rata back on the field under two minutes we'll see the Eagles two-minute offense fake reverse and drought is over they're looking for Running Room can't really find it either the Thunder have got him going he's gonna step out of bounds after just a one-yard gain second and nine what a great job by the Thunder defense to string that one out and they've run that reverse twice already in this game but the Thunder did not buy it on at that time he faked the pitch to the receiver that was coming behind him on the keeper he looked up all he saw was gray jerseys in front of him good job by that Thunder defense Luke and rata nowhere to go two receivers left two to the right one man in the backfield for an errata become some heat for the Thunder nice pass dropped in the hands and out of the hands and a good job defensively back there for the Thunder and McCreary well we've seen a couple of good throws by and dried up a look at this one right on the money tight window to throw it and that's a ball that should have been caught BCC was a little behind that play couldn't get up to get a hand on it but a drop on that play benefits the Thunder absolutely Markus London junior unable to come up with that one and your honor back to pass on 3rd and 9 he's got Bowman out there he's gonna throw it deep to him Bowman he did he keep his feet inbounds he did nice catch once again by Caden Bowman and I am impressed with this one as he kept both feet inbounds you only won in high school this should be a great angle looking right down the sideline right behind the quarterback and Rada look at the stretch the extension the feet are in both feet are in boy what a great catch takes it all the way to the ground that's good even in the NFL where most catches are are overturned look at the slow motion both feet in hands on the ball great job by Bowman like I said high school rules you only need one and drana throws high nice catch down by the Eagles number 21 and Brendan Harding comes up with a big catch there and the Eagles are back on the move I told you you they're never out of this thing no they are not not the way they can they can score quickly they can move the ball and you can see the arm of end rata works down the left side that time goes to the right side and they just keep moving it quickly and now you look at the clock there still a minute and a half left they've got plenty of time in this first half and there's a good look at the Eagles getting together head coach Andrew Watts wants to talk to him a little bit and this is a team they've gotten a lot of players on here and errata they've got some seniors some players that are really gonna do some damage for further out there yes the rest of this year and they are a prideful Bunch they lost to their crosstown rivals in Pueblo West earlier this year I'm sure that one still stings and plus lose in Medrano for this game and who knows how long but they are proud bunch and I expect them to keep coming back tonight well and they're a group that's had some success they've won three state titles in the last six years they've twice into DCC season in the state tournament one of them in the state championship game just a couple seasons ago and this this is a group like jet Brian they're they're a tough group a lot of players on this team they've had success they've won those big games and even though they got down they they know they have enough in the tank they can get back in this one but lluís back on the field and rata back to pass got a man bowman can't come up with this one Kaden Bowman's been impressive so far tonight but couldn't get that one in - shoestring oh that one's just a little bit low but how about the arm strength by Andrade he's had a couple of balls dropped that wouldn't really be a drop that's a tough catch but boy he reared back and fired that one in and certainly a catchable ball by Bowman he's had a couple of good ones tonight in tirana this time hands it off up side up the middle Gonzales only to get three yards they were trying to catch the Thunder sleeping a little bit up the middle didn't work every now and then you have to try to keep him honest VCC knows they're going to throw the ball they're down there's approaching a minute left here in this this second quarter but that time just a little fullback give we got quadruples left three of them stacked and that's where they go they send it out to London Junior he makes a cut he's gonna have to get enough and he does get the first down down to the 30-yard line and that should move the change stop the clock for a moment well he has a lot of blockers in front of him but I don't know if he had anybody blocking he wasn't in front of a nice job by London junior take a look at the replay right here but here's the pass from Andrada watch London junior he's got to beat how many guys here a little sidestep one couple more guys splits them gets by another nice job by by junior and drana hands it off up the middle that's Gonzales again strips two tackles he's still going down to the 10 yard line and we'll see the Eagles take another timeout 32 seconds they'll move the chains good job by Gonzales it really was and again keeping him honest with the running play they've been using the pass to both sides of the field and nice job low inside handoff Luke and Rada takes the snap fakes the handoff comes to the right he wants to run with it in the Thunder having nothing to do with that and they what Lou East will now take their second timeout of this first half with eighteen point five seconds left and Andrada trying to do maybe a little too much by himself right there yeah very well could have been and that was a little run pass option he had to you faked the give inside and tried to rule it out just know where to go with it and he gets tackled in bounds they after burning timeout let's see what John Michell comes up with it the officially it's second down and nine the ball is on the ten yard line so they can get a first down but there may not be enough time left if they do it's exactly right we'll see what they can draw up right here we've seen Andrada he's got a good arm he's floated a couple down the sidelines but he's fired a few in and we'll see if they can as they stretch the field we've seen him run trips a lot they ran quad receivers on the last one we'll see if they try something similar to get one of those receivers outside try to get some blocking for him as well and getting to the end zone well in that last four receiver set to the outside they had three of them set in like an eye formation out here and they send out blockers and just threw it to the last man in that formation and that was Marvin London Jr who had to pick his way through players will see if they run something like that again maybe get better blocking this time see what they have we have trips coming out to the left single to the right and Rada looks it over that ball bounces to him he picks it up good block in the backfield keeping him open it's got a man in the endzone touchdown put Lowe East nice catch for the Eagles for six more sometimes you have to improvise in a great job I Luke and rata on a ball that hits the turf take a look at it right there plays it on the one hop rolling to is offside steps back throws it up in a nice catch in between two defenders great job on the play Webb Lewis that's Marvin London jr.

he's had a great first half and a nice catch in traffic was a good look at Marvin there and they will go for two and draw it back again he is hammered in the backfield guess who number 59 gage Clausen well he's had a whale of a first half Brian let's take another look at it right here in the Shug and he comes in completely unblocked and the way this first half has gone you got to find that guy somebody find 59 and put it put a body on him but a nice job by gage Clausen and we've got a man down for Pueblo East let's take another look at the touchdown and this is a great catch by Marvin London jr. well it really was good throw as well just trying to get that ball there are two receivers in the back of the end zone Marvin London jr.

in between two DCC players goes up high makes the catch and ends up in the end zone 31 to 12 we're gonna have to take a break with a player down on the field we'll find out who it is come back give you a little more information you're watching high school football on 20 TV you back inside district 20 stadium Luke and Rada suffered the injury for Pueblo East and watch him go down here well just as we were talking about the play that gage Clausen made as he landed on top of and Rada you could see a little bit that right knee just folded up underneath and he he got up he did get some assistance but he got up walked off the field that would be a huge loss for Pueblo East if and rot is out for this game as a squib kick the Thunder pick it up and that should be the way the first half ends is the clock wellnot five point one seconds excuse me nope there'll be one snap and probably a little taking knee right here and get into the get into halftime we'll see what Shawn Mitchell does with this do we take a knee or do you just hand it to Marshall bike we'll see and they're there looking at it's 31 to 12 now Pueblo East has cut that lead again and if you're Shawn Mitchell you got to like the way the first half went against the fourth ranked team in the state well you really you really do you hit a couple of big plays your defense played terrific so Anderson's in there and they give it to pike pike comes up the middle gets across the 50 yard line he's still going 40 is he's dragged down inside to the 38 yard line Marshall Pike just adding to his numbers and that's the way the first half will end 31 to 12 discovery king and taking care of Pueblo East but we still got a second half to play we'll take a break we'll come back with our halftime show one more look the Eagles are coming back Marvin London jr.

will be back on 20 TV you back inside district 20 Stadium Brian German alongside Dave Toller where the discovery Canyon Thunder are running away with this one against the Pueblo East Eagles 31 to 12 Davey's been quite a start to this game for the Thunder they've just been running it down the throats and they really have and here's a good look at one right here a quick handoff that goes to the far side passion just splits the defenders goes 47 yards for the touchdown puts the Thunder up 7-0 the Thunder did a good job keeping the Eagles out of the end zone on their first drive and ever since then they'd been backed up and the next guy to touch the football was Marshall Pike and he went a long way 74 yards for the full-back untouched right up the middle and you talked about running away with it while there's a great shot of Marshall Pike just running away from everybody as he gets in the end zone next time in the second quarter Pike again gets into the end zone that made it 21 to nothing and then Pueblo East said we got to do something about this and they sure did and rod I went to the top and he found Caden Bowman for a touchdown of their own and that made it 24 to 6 but the Thunder answered right back yeah they sure didn't again they do it on the ground here comes the quarterback Anderson quick flip out drew list a low gets inside the corner and scores for the Thunder 31 to 6 you think the Thunder of running away well webelo you can never count out the Eagles and drew out a nice move to get away there and finds Marvin London junior with a great catch for the touchdown two two-point conversions no good that's why it's 31 to 12 but Dave it's been an entertaining first half it really has Brian look at the way discovery Canyon has run the football 286 yards on the ground for the Thunder 214 through the air for Pueblo East they're capable of that and they're certainly not out of this one if you'd have told me that was gonna be 43 points scored in the first half out of a thought it would have been both teams in the 20s but that's not the way it is we'll see if the Eagles can rebound we're telling you tonight they were playing without Kane Medrano one of their star players who plays running back receiver and free safety and on the last two-point conversion Luke and Rada went down had to be helped off the field so we'll see if their starting quarterback comes back in the second half but that's the way it stands here at halftime DCCC up 31 to 12 will come back with second-half action from district 20 stadium after this on 20 TV you welcome back to Discovery Canyon with the lead 31 to 12 at district 20 Stadium and discovery Canyon will be receiving the ball to start the second half they kicked off in the first half and if you weren't with us Brian German alongside Dave Toller Pueblo Easter of right down the field getting first down after first time after first down got inside the 10-yard line then had a holding call that backed him up and then discovery Canyon scored 24 straight points yeah exactly Brian is discovery Canyon with this 31 to 12 lead they get the ball first an important Drive right here you cannot go three and out and give this Pueblo East team any kind of life they've got a great offense they can score quickly so a big drive coming up here for the Thunder and for East fans if you're watching Luke and Radha did walk out of his own power warmed up with the team looks like he's gonna be good to go here in the second half so there's the kick taken by the thunders got some room up the left sideline gets by Eagles and still running it out of passed the 40 yard line that is a good run by Ethan Hall nice job we'll get a replay of it righty right here he takes the ball in the numbers and just gets the sidelines and good job by bidc see I've given him a little bit of room a lot of white jerseys on the side over there but Hall just found a little seam and gets the ball out to the 40 yard line great field position for discovery can't believe it was Ethan Hall there's to number eight for discovery kami and Brian Schimmel who we thought had a catch in the first half not sure and that might have been Ethan Hawke we don't know I can't see their faces so I can't tell you if I could I probably couldn't either everybody it's okay one of those two men make sure they get the shoutout Zach Anderson understand her passion in motion fake to Pike Anderson's gonna keep it himself comes out gets close to the 50 yard line close to a first down it's gonna be second and two for the big man Zach Anderson and just little things he left that ball in the belly of the fullback for a long time great decision is everybody converged for the middle and then Anderson just turns the corner picks up nine yards on the play no Rivera with a nice tackle on the big man to bring him down good look at Sam Watson right there the tight end defensive end as well has a catch already in this game and he will go to the left see which way the Thunder run the football in there dead center they're gonna throw it Anderson sends it out to passion he needs to cut up to get the first down he does so good job by Kevin passion to cut back and make the first down didn't you say something about cutbacks I really did yes nice job right here great decision by Anderson though he wanted to go down the field that was his first option and the second option he checks off down to the running back and gets the first down and good hard running there by passion Anderson now three for three on the night it's gonna be first down in ten for the Thunder Marshall Pike over a hundred and fifty yards in the first half doesn't get the carry this time Anderson again keeps the ball comes up inside and reaches and he may have another first down for the Thunder it'll depend on the mark but they're gonna mark him down shorts it's gonna be second down and one for the Thunder but how about Zach Anderson and he knows they're probably gonna be keying on pike he's keeping that ball in his belly like you said and in the last second pulling it out and then you can just see the whole line for Pueblo East everybody just converging on pike and why wouldn't they 12 carries 157 yards in that first half and so they move to the middle and what does that do it opens up the edge for the quarterback Thunder have kept that ball inside the hashes whose Monteleone around the right side whoa and he's cut down over there and a nice tackle for Pueblo East that was Patrick Gonzales who came up and made the play and we got another eagle down on the field but here's another look well a good job by Monteleone I'm just getting out and and making that play looked like he had a lot of room over on the edge the wide receiver couldn't quite hold his block long enough and there was an injury on the play to one of the Eagles we'll see if we get a number that was Curtis Railton who's now being helped off the field he looks to be okay not sure he went down up now he's been over on the sidelines wondering if he's okay no sometimes cramps will get you sometimes he was the back side defensive end the left defensive end who was coming around behind the play and we saw him go down well behind the play that's where the the injury happened as we were watching Monteleone gain the edge and get the first down so discovery can you doing what they want to do here with the first drive of the second half Anderson with passion in motion goes up top got a man there's Watson Oh couldn't catch it couldn't come down with it pounds the ground with his fist he did not like that one gets the ball down he'll get it back to the officials but Wow Sam Watson's gonna want that one back why and in an offense that doesn't throw the ball very much you don't get very many opportunities look how wide open he is he runs right by the linebacker just off of his fingertips if he can just somehow squeeze that ball in he walks into the end zone but instead discovery Canyon will line it back up second and 10 Anderson nice pitch here comes passion nice cut up inside of the 20 in down to the 16 yard line another first down Thunder that's 91 yards now for passion nice job just setting up those blockers great patience by the runner if he had just continued outside he gets taken down on the play he stops lets his blockers do the job and cuts in right behind him it's good look at passion the back of the huddle for the Thunder as the play comes in let's say Ethan Hall brought the play in and he'll split out to the left Anderson with Monteleone in motion fakes to pike pitch to Monteleone he's inside the 10 and hammered down in Pueblo East started to take out some of their anger with some big hits on defense well I've really was again a late pitch right there is he he held it as long as he couldn't Monteleone just gets right into traffic and well he gets hit hard on the play he gets up he's fine and we'll have an official's timeout on the play Patrick Gonzalez they sent Monteleone off I think he had maybe some blood the trainer's are wiping his elbow maybe had a little blood they sent Monteleone off the field so we'll see who's gonna be it'll be drool Estelle Oh who's in there for Monteleone he'll be the wing back to the right and anderson takes it still got it fakes the pitch comes up inside he's got a big frame and the ball touchdown thunder [Applause] zack anderson his first touchdown of the night they take another look at it right here just on the keeper and he has passion to the outside he cuts it up in a lot of traffic but again the big body look how many players he just drags and then again when he falls forward he gets another two yards on the play nice job Zack Anderson he carried the ball a lot on that drive we talked about what a big drive that was for discovery Canyon to eat some time off the clock and get some points and they did exactly that three yards deep in the end zone for the officials hands went up Anderson again for the extra point up and good 38 to 12 a 26 point lead for the discovery Canyon Thunder and a nice drive Dave you talked about how important it was for them to come out here in the second half as we look again at Zach Anderson just running over Eagles and getting in the end zone and he had the mindset he was keeping that you saw when he got to the edge he didn't even put that ball out in the right hand like he was gonna pitch it he did have passion out to his right but never thought of that he was keeping that ball in his hands the entire time nice job on the on the keeper 55 yards on eight carries tonight for Zach Anderson picks up his first touchdown on that plane so Griffin Anderson will get to put this one back into play he has yet to actually put one in play he does a good job of kicking it out of the end zone we were watching him warm up during halftime and he was setting the ball down on the 40-yard line and kicking field goals from there that would be a 50-yarder and he's got plenty of leg plenty of distance on that he's done a great job tonight as has everybody boy the defense the offensive line for for discovery Canyon just a total team effort to put them up 38:12 in this game Anderson has the whistle he will now March it off and get ready to kick this one thunder took some good time off the clock there too in that quarter in the first drive of the third quarter plenty of leg and this one is gonna be in the field of play they're gonna let Pueblo East returning and London junior gets out across the 20 yard live at the 21 so they gain a yard on it looked at me like gone to the end zone but the official said we roll the clock let's go he was right on the goal line when he did so first time we've had to see the cover team in action for discovery Canyon but doing a nice job getting down there and getting the tackle they'll spot that right about the 21 yard line for the Eagles Worley Mondragon with the return there excuse me some of these numbers a little hard to see for Pueblo East and Luke entrada back in the game we mentioned he got hurt the last offensive play for but least in the first half nice pass out here to London jr.

nice move he cuts it to the outside it gets by the Thunder and gets it Gow close to the 40-yard line but Marvin London junior with a great play right there boy it really was a little isolation right here you don't block one guy let the ball carrier take care of him and he did so gets around him and like a good job pursuit on the backside to get him out of bounds this is why discovery Canyon has to keep scoring when they have the football these pueblos East is a very dangerous offense and Rada sends a man in motion that's Rivera and this time they come to the other side with London Jr he's got some room and some blockers cuts it up inside and across the 50 yard line and Pablo aces maybe found something there with a little swing pass to London jr.

yes same play out of a different formation they ran it to the far side this time to London junior sent him in motion so they forced discovery Canyon to bring some guys to the far side of the field and picks up another first down two catches on the last two drives for Marvin and jr. nice blocking out there by Noah Rivera and jarana this time hands it off up the middle and some nice fancy footwork and almost another first down for Pueblo East and as the runner up the middle doing a great job I believe that was Noah Rivera when again you run a little bubble to the left side another one to the right side the full-back up the middle and this is what Webb Lewis wants to do this is the rhythm that they want to get into and they start playing with their pace they can really spread you out and we talked about their offense they can get back into it quickly yeah this offense they look a little angry right now down thirty eight to 12 and Rada looking for a man wants to throw it deep throws it short nice catch again that's Kaden Bowman on the sideline kept both feet inbounds and made a catch a nice job and good job by Andrada to keep this play alive as well as he's rolling out has a little bit of pressure but puts the ball right on the money on the sidelines good catch by Bowman three for three four and Rada on this Drive and they picked up three first downs and Toronto not showing any ill effects from what looked like a tweaked knee at the end of the first half and Rada now with trips to the right he throws it got a man right in the middle of the field and a good catch that was Brendan Harding and they are moving it fast and why wouldn't you throw it to the middle you go left you go right you go a run up the middle then you throw it over the top underneath the zone you saw discovery Canyon they dropped everybody back found the soft spot in the zone and picked up another first down and they're keeping Marvin London jr.

here's that quadruped s'right you see the i-formation with three of the receivers on the left they threw it to London junior last time in this and try to get some blocking in front of him this time and around it looks upfield got a man down close to the goal line and look at them moving it that again is Bowman great job and great play calling so we were just talking about everything on the left side they had single coverage at the top of your screen that was Bowman a little slant to the inside and nearly gets in the end zone and Rada now has his team down to the two yard line first and goal to give it up the middle and he's in at least that's what the East Eagles think and the official on the far side concurs touchdown Pablo East Megan 18 points for the Eagles well when you get it in that close you just got to use the big guys up in front a little bit of power offense right there pushes it in we're trying to get the number of the leaders no Rivera was it Riveria he's been in that position all night long touchdown for the Eagles and again will they go for two they're gonna kick this one their previous two touchdowns they went for two they will line up to kick this one mega number 18 Eddie Gutierrez the senior with his left foot gets it up and OH just short of the crossbar no good and excuse me that was not Gutierrez Thomas Wagner is the kicker he was five for five on PA TS before that one things just not going right for the Eagles really aren't and there was another good look at the touchdown just again use some the big guys up front but how about the drive how about the play calling by Pueblo East they came right out they they gave up a touchdown to discovery Canyon on their first drive but as soon as their offense got the ball they throw it left they throw a right they run it up the middle they hit his own play down they hit a seam pass on the far right side they get it down to the two and just punch it in great job of offensive football by Pueblo East and what Louise now needs some defense they know they have some we spoke earlier tonight about they forced 12 turnovers this season in four games seven and one gaming its last year's state champions from Palmer Ridge but this defense can be dangerous too so far discovery canyon has done a good job and nullifying all of that just running the football and they have to protect the football they're not gonna put it in the air as much as Palmer Ridge did of course with their great quarterback ty Evans and they threw five picks against this Eagles team but they're not gonna put it up that much but when they're running the ball especially those pitches they've got to take care of the football nice deep kick forces the Thunder on her back but a nice return he's gonna cut back still on his feet is Zach surface man nice return for the junior for the Thunder yeah really did a good job at he he gets it up to that to the sideline cuts it right back inside and gives DCC a good place to start with their second drive of this third quarter excuse me that was either Chimel or hall just saying number eight Terry is number eight Brian Chimel Ethan Hall both wearing number eight for the Thunder and out they come again Zach Anderson under center this time he pitches it back got a man that's drew well Stello and he gets forward for about an eight nine yard game oh they want to give him the first nope it's gonna be second down they will spot it just short they did start to move the chains then they flip the down marker over and well yeah second and short the Stello came in when Monta Leyland went out earlier looked like he had a little scratch on his arm possibly they were taking a look at him but mostello gets the first carry on that drive and now Monteleone is back in there at the right wing back it still is left to give it up the middle and Marshall funk gets his first carry the second half and a first down he's earned a little bit of a breather after the first half that he had and he gets to gets the carry right there he'll pick up that first day on that first drive that discovery Canyon had they never went to pipe they just used him as a decoy as Anderson did all the damage on the on the keepers going around the edge and lost ello as well so right there they come right back to Pyke and he picks up the first down Zach Anderson bring him up slowly as thunder just happy to milk that clock up by 20 who hit in the backfield Anderson pull the ball away from pike I think he was giving it to pike but Anderson pulled it back he didn't gain much of it but it stopped a bigger loss for the Thunder well that was Diego Martinez just jumping the play right there and great presence of mind by Anderson to be able to hold on to that football we we talked about ball security the one thing the DCCC cannot do is put the ball on the turf having a 20-point lead their offense has been in sync all night but why they nearly turned one over right there second and 11 now and again pressure up the middle to go outside a Monteleone he cuts it up gets it across midfield and he's gonna be without within about three or four yards of a first down a nice job to get a big chunk of it back right there just a little quick toss sweep to Monteleone again blockers out in front of him great job over on the edge we'll see if we can catch you that is a Tanner McCreary who did a nice job with a little kick-out block on that defensive end Monteleone cut right in behind him and Webb Louie sent everybody up the middle on that play so a great play call by the Thunder to go wide Ethan Hall gives the play to Zac Anderson Thunder take the play clock down to three before snapping it Anderson back he's in trouble gets out of it cuts across the 50 he's got a first down and more to the 40 look at Zach anderson couple holy cow it a great play by the quarterback Zach Anderson he talked about making lemonade out of lemons right there Zach Anderson holy cow he had nowhere to go with this there's a flag on the plane we'll see if this is gonna possibly come back let's see what are we get well up the field the flag is at the 40-yard line up webelo East let's see what the white cap says they pick up the flag may have been a hold downfield which could be a first down and pull it back a bit we'll see lock in the back against the Thunder that's gonna push him back here it is again look at the pressure come that's Diego Martinez again that had him right there great job breaking tackles keeps his footing and gets it down the sideline that's where that flag came in so they'll spot the ball at the Pueblo East 49 yard line you get the yardage up to where that flag up to where that infraction happened they back him up ten yards on the play so it's gonna be third and two now at the 49 yard line for pueblo east of webelo East man in motion pitch it out through the Stello gets the first down and more inside the 40-yard line and if you fought the Thunder we're about to stall forget about it well they trust their block so well watch the cutback right there duelist ello he just knows where they're going they've run this offense so well and he just cut right in behind his blocker picks up about 12 yards on the plane another first down for the Thunder good job again for the Thunder coming down to two minutes left here in the third quarter Zach Anderson taking his sweet time this one again to Pike up the middle looks like about four yards on that one if he breaks off another big one he'll be over 200 yards for the night he's at 163 right now and even on that little run right there he picked up four yards didn't look like he got much of anything but that's a critic to that offensive line just winning that battle at the line of scrimmage moving the line of scrimmage about two yards and just pretty much allowing your fullback to run right in behind him fall forward for a gain of four makes it second and six Issac Munn the big center rolling this offensive line for the Thunder again it spike up the middle Oh tripped up but he may have the first down I believe he does give him another seven yards to marshal pike yeah a nice job defensively therefore for the Eagles that was Martinez again that just got his foot I believe but boy what a nice burst right there by pike and again as you just start to work the middle of the field and work the edge you pop that full back in the defenders can't see him as he just kind of sneaks in but underneath that offensive line and gets gets a good gain on the play first and ten for the Thunder great job up front by that Thunder offensive line anderson fakes to pike this time comes got some Running Room on the outside gets inside the 20 yard line in another flag comes down that's probably gonna be a hold again against the Thunder yeah that one will probably come back Anderson picked up about eight yards on that keeper it is a holding call against the Thunder so they've had some problem with some penalties yeah that one was right there at the point of attack as soon as Anderson went around you could see one of the discover canyon linemen just grabbed one of the the D lineman pulled him down on the play so discovery cane has had some penalties tonight they've they've been able to overcome him they popped a couple of big plays right after they've been called for those penalties but I get you off schedule for a team that wants to run the football well I know you're up 20 but that's not enough no I don't think with Webb luisa they can score quickly and if they happen to manage to stop the Thunder tonight look out they haven't done it yet Zach Anderson they stopped him for a field goal but that was it Anderson looking he'll come to his man list ello well Stello pushes him forward lluís tries to rip that ball out of his hand he'll get a lot of the yardage back but not enough for a first down and again Anderson wanted to go down the field he checked down to the running back list a low and a good job good tough running right here as he just pulled a couple of players gets down closer when you have a weapon like Griffin Anderson as a kicker any yardage you can get when you get into this territory is huge for trying to put points on the board let's give a shout out to Matt Heinz the running back coach for this DCC Thunder team he does a great job teaching them to hold on to that football high and tight they do a good job do not turn that football over Monteleone in motion he's behind Anderson here Anderson cuts it back nice move by the big man he cuts it low and may have another first down for the Thunder I believe he does well how about the decision right here he wanted to pitch this all the way keeps it in as he saw that the tailback was covered sheds a blocker and again when you have that big body you can absorb a couple of hits he did so stayed on his feet and he does in fact move the chains first and 10 at the 15-yard line now for discovery Canyon and I believe that will do it for the end of the third quarter the Thunder with a 20-point lead as we go to the final 12 minutes we'll be back and have it for you as Zach Anderson tumbles into the end zone you're watching high school football on 20 TV you welcome back to district 20 Stadium the discovery Canyon has a 20-point lead and looking for more there on the Pueblo East 15-yard line Zach Anderson hands it to Marshall Pike up the middle off the football no what am I seeing Dave I thought Mike had it but he didn't but great job Zach Anderson got me on that one I did too he kept that all the way and well I thought Pike had a tune the way everybody reacted to where the ball was going it certainly looked like it was but nice job again there's a good look at the big man Zach Anderson kept that one went around the end game nine on the play second and one for the Thunder and the lack of a replay makes me think that maybe someone else got fooled on that one it wasn't just us I don't feel so bad my bad folks so second down for the Thunder Monteleone to the right let's tell Oh to the left and they Jackie Anderson keeps it again follows the fullback Pike up inside and gets the first down that's a quarterback that is saying in this situation up 20 in the fourth quarter the ball is in my hands all take care of a great job by Zach Anderson pulled it right out of the valley of the fullback pike hangs on to it and gets the first down so first and goal to four you're just inside the 5-yard line and discovery Canyon pretty much was taking care of the first minute of this quarter they'd like to take care of two or three if they can balls on the for Anderson the pitch outside Monteleone gets in for the touchdown Ryan Monteleone and the Thunder [Applause] oh nice job I'm Monteleone getting around look at the kick-out block here Mason banks number 60 the guard is up in front of the play good job blocking it again Monteleone follows his blocker into the endzone for the touchdown 44 18 thunder 44 to 18 make it a 26 point lead for the Thunder and again they trot out Griffin Anderson the best kickers in the state tack on to his numbers tonight kick is up and it is good 45 points now for the Thunder they're a big on pueblos easton but it was very important for them to score that touchdown by ryan Monteleone oh sure was I mean they had to answer and discovery Canyon on offense they have not yet been stopped they've kicked one field goal they haven't punted we don't want to jinx um by any means but they haven't turned it over they've taken care of the football and and they've gotten production out of everybody Kevin passion with a touchdown two for Marshall pike drew let's Talos a candor sitting right there Monteleone gets on the scoreboard six touchdowns tonight one field goal six extra points at a field well that's nine points for Griffin Anderson by his right foot as he trots out to kick this one off again and last time you let them return it let's see if he does it again I don't know if he's getting tired he might be he's kicked off so many times tonight but the leg might be a little sore or that's seven times in eight times he's kicked off so Anderson let's see if you can get it into the end zone this time that's a nice problem to have when your kicker is kicking off a lot that means you're getting in the end zone a lot true as long as their kickers not kicking off a lot everything is fine that's right crowd gets into it here comes Anderson and he does get a lot of foot into that one that'll be a touchback he goes back and picks up his tea it's a good look at London jr.
